2024.06.09 20:46 PaPiotr13 Sub-Ghz gate adding

So basically I am an installer and pretty often I have to work with gates. I would want to make a copy of a remote to my flipper so I can borrow clients remote for a moment and have my flipper do the heavy lifting (just my preferences of not keeping sb remote and having the stuff in one spot). I work with diffrent types but as I was not able to copy some of them i think they are rolling codes. I already know if i were to copy one it would desync the old one which is not acceptable. Tho i am familliar with remote learning/secret button features on them. I am assuming it work by telling reciver to go into learn mode remotelly so it needs to be performed next to the gate? (I am guessing here tell me if i am wrong) I am working with remotes from bft or hormann. How do i get my flipper to work, cause there is a lot of things i don't understand with subghz like how to choose modulation and how to detect rolling codes. I tried to find some info on the internet but failed, so please enlighten me great people of reddit.

Hi all
Im looking at starting a small business now my other half earns enough to support us both. Before I hit the button and drink to kool aid as it were and start spending money am I missing anything obvious. I have considered and/or priced up the following already:
From looking at the outlay vs line costs it will take me a year and a half to break even if i run at a steady pace due to some expensive equipment but if i push it I can hopefully turn a profit in under a year.
Has anyone had success with the NFC/QR code card for google reviews they are cheap enough but dont want to be throwing money away if I dont need to be.

[ I'm having trouble coming up with an efficient TLDR for this so if someone in the comments could help me out, I'd appreciate it, thank you]
Yo, so an experience I had some weeks ago truly made me realize something and I’d like to have a conversation about it since the realization was so striking to me since I've been sheltered the majority of my childhood (due to my parents simply wanting to protect me as parents SHOULD). My parents watched me like a freaking HAWK.
Something to note is I am a 19 year old woman---keep that in mind as I explain this.
One day, I was walking outside. I live in a more suburban part of the hood where I'm at. I didn't have any makeup and just wore a hoodie with jeans. I did not make any effort to look nice because I merely wanted to go to the Wawa. I mention this because I don't want some idiot in the comments going, "What were you wearing?" Even if I did want to look nice, it wouldn't justify anything.
Nonetheless, I'm walking outside and getting to the point where I'm near the forest-like parts of my neighborhood. The forest is located on the right and the fence of neighborhood backyards is on the left when you first walk in. The rest of the ground is road because that's where cars drive through. I'm walking near the foresty side of the road because there's more space and I don't have to hug the curb so close to not get hit by a car or something. This are or part of the neighborhood is very isolated and not many people are seen walking by or nearby. So 9 times out of 10, when I walk this path, I am alone.
"Just use a different path then." I would if there were other alternative roads to go to the other spots I wish to go to, but there aren't any (not any that are the quickest and if anything, they're also MORE isolated and thus I would be even MORE compromised).
As I'm walking, a car drives past me, I think nothing of it. Because, y'know...it's just a car.
Then the car stops nearby me and honks, and the person in it is trying to get my attention.
Confused, I'm thinking, "Wait, is this someone I know? What's happening?" So I went over to the car (which I was nervous to do because I don't know this person or recognize the car). Inside the car is a man who looks around my age and when he sees me, he says, "Oh, sorry, I thought you were someone I knew."
Sure, it was somewhat weird, but I was like, "Okay, this interaction is done now. I'mma continue on my way."
Then I continue walking...and the car turns around. He drives ahead of me and stops near the entrance to open area parking lot that's near the neighborhood entry sign. I decided to walk on the opposite side of the road now to avoid walking past this car (I was originally on the right, I switched to the left since his car was then on the right). Once I walk into the driver's field of vision, he catches my attention again and signals for me to talk to him. I don't know this man, so I don't know how he's gonna react if I don't answer him (because some men have gotten violent when women ignore them).
I get closer, but not close to the car. And because of how weird the whole vibe of the situation felt to me, I was making plans in my mind to escape or try to run from him should he get out of the car or try something. If he got out, I could run. If he had a gun, he'd reach for a second and I maybe could run. Basically, I was coming up with all different type of survival tactics in my mind just in case I ever needed to because as I've said, I have no idea who this man is, I've never met him. Even if vibes weren't a part of it, I was still all by myself, no one else was outside--I was vulnerable.
The guy in the car then proceeds to look me up and down and then he asks for my phone number. He's like, "Can I get your number?"
I basically tell him, "Sorry, no thank you, sir." I tried my best to be polite and soft about it because I don't want him to act out, but I also don't feel comfortable giving my number to random men like that (especially in this situation where he potentially or somewhat followed me with his car–seeing as he turned around when I continued walking and waited for me to be in his field of vision once again to talk to me).
Thankfully, he was a decent person and drove away and didn't pursue anything further. But I tell you, my heart was racing the entire time because I had no idea how the situation would turn out.
Granted, he definitely could've just been a decent guy who was like, "Oh, this girl's pretty, let me talk to her." (and I'm more than willing to believe that). He could've just wanted to start a conversation with me and didn’t know how his approach looked on the outside or something. I don't wanna assume the worst of people--I don't wanna do that. But the fact I even had to plan a life-or-death escape just in case he WASN'T a good person is very telling of how ingrained this stuff is into women because of the world we live in. The fact we as women have to be so hyper aware because of how many men (or people in general) just refuse to be decent.
And keep in mind, I felt that much fear because I was completely alone with a man who was inside of a car that I did not know. I did not know that man. I never even saw him before up until that point. So if he wanted to do something to me, no one would've been able to stop him or hear me scream. And the way he approached me in terms of trying to speak to me----while I'm definitely willing to believe he innocently wanted to approach me---it still doesn't change the fact that I had to be super hyper vigilant of the situation just in case he had bad intentions because unfortunately, too many men do.
And before anyone tries to say, “Oh, you should’ve just ignored him, he was being creepy, dadadada–”
While yes, I objectively find his approach (the way he did it) kinda creepy, I don’t want to automatically assume that’s what his intentions were—especially since he left me alone when I told him I was uninterested (which is INCREDIBLY fortunate all things considered and I actually hope he’s doing well). My point isn’t to come for this guy’s throat, or deny the reality of how it might’ve looked on the outside.
My entire point of me bringing this up is the fact that we, as women, are so targeted in this world today—that we have to be hyper vigilant of our surroundings so much that we literally have to plan how to escape or combat someone should we be vulnerable and that’s pretty messed up. And because of that, guys---who might genuinely just want to talk to women---will have to put in extra steps just so we can even know whether or not they won't hurt us.
Because I realized I was completely alone and vulnerable, I had to plan out a survival plan just IN CASE he wasn’t a good person. The fact I had to assume he WASN’T FIRST just for personal security sake honestly makes me rather sad because we as humans should automatically feel safe with one another and yet we don’t because of the actions of the cruel people who we live amongst. We as women have to assume the worst of men we first meet in those scenarios because we know we’ll be blamed if we don’t and thus get hurt because of it.
I really hope you guys understand what I'm trying to say.

2024.06.09 20:42 N0B0DY_U_KN0W Spectrum Won't Unlock My Phone 😡

So it's my mother's account but she died 2 yrs ago. Although I'm an authorized user on the account Spectrum won't let me make any major changes to the account, such as changing the name on the account, changing the phone number, etc. In a way I can see why Spectrum won't for security reasons but I offered to provide proof of my mother's death and I'm next of kin. So I decided to leave and go to another carrier. The phone on the account, a Galaxy Note 10+, is paid fully paid for was planning to use as a trade-in. But my son's phone broke and I decided to give him the phone to use until he gets a new one. Thing is, he uses (I believe it's called) TextNow and the phone needs to be unlocked for him to use their SIM. I reached out to Spectrum and as expected, "we need to speak with the account holder". So anyone know how I can get the phone unlocked in this situation?

I (29F) and my husband (30F) had our baby son earlier this year and it's our first baby. During the 1st trimester I was sick constantly and relied heavily on husband to help and this only increased when I was put on bedrest after bleeding at 11 weeks. I started to notice my husband becoming more secretive with his phone and I started getting suspicious as to why he never let me see it to check things like the weather, directions etc. I notoriously am bad at remembering to charge my phone. It culminated when we were out with friends, and I mentioned that he had photos of a car we had gone to see and his friend called him out on how he looked scared at me looking at his phone. One night, after a particularly bad night of morning sickness I picked up his phone and went through it. Although not proud of it the curiousity was overwhelming. What I found on it was pictures of various women we knew (friends wives, acquaintances etc) Snapchat/instagram stories. He also had porn and instagram models saved. What was the most disheartening to me was the fact that one of the photos saved on his phone was a picture of his ex who was also pregnant at the time. I confronted him and he apologized promising not to do it again. Flash forward to 8 months in and again I have this feeling that he's being secretive with his phone, not leaving it out taking it everywhere etc. so again in the middle of the night I check and all the images he deleted are back along with new images. This time in a password protected folder. When I comfronted him this time I asked point blank what the need was behind having these pictures on his phone. His response was I don't know it's stupid I don't know. Now that we have my son im exhausted and I've noticed he's gotten secretive again. But I'm so exhausted emotionally that I feel like I'd rather divorce than continue to address this. I know that it's put a damper on our relationship so much so that we haven't had sex since my son was born 9 months. So am I the asshole for wanting to give up?

2024.06.09 20:38 Far-Employment-6881 Transmission Fluid or something more serious?

I’ll keep this short and sweet so I get straight to the problem, I drive a 2002 Jeep liberty
Went to a concert 2 hours way last night and the car was driving fine, got breakfast this morning car was driving fine. Hopped in to go get groceries and I have a check engine light on.
I drive home to figure out what the problem is and I get a Code P0700, googled it and saw it was the transmission. Note the car wasn’t accelerating too great and I heard something that almost sounded like a woodpecker.
I have absolutely no idea when the fluid was changed last (bought the car a year ago) and it’s got around 180,000 miles on it
The car does start, it does shift gears, and it’s not seizing up which I take to mean it’s the fluid but I wanted a more professional answer before I try and drive somewhere and it’s not the problem.
There is urgency to this because it’s 2:30 on a Sunday and I leave for work at 5AM

We don’t post very many cats from here YET… because there is a lack of rescues, there is a lack of fosters, there is a lack of resources and systems in place to help the cats at the shelter. Last year in 2023, 7% of the cats exited the shelter alive the statistics are grim.
We have found a fostepotential adopter on the East Coast, who is willing to jump through some crazy hoops, and we have a Rescue who is local that’s willing to help him. We are going to need to raise funds to either transport them across country or to fly them. Since we are so new to this, it’s a little unclear how we will pull this off. would you be opposed to pledging to help? it would go towards transportation, vetting, spay, neuter, microchip, a health certificate, & vaccinations.

I made the switch about 3 or 4 weeks ago. The sign up process was quick and painless. Getting my information to transfer the phone number from T-Mobile was also easier than I thought and I easily got the information from my account on the T-Mobile website.
After provinding Mint with the transfer information the website says it will take up to 48 hours provided your information was correct. It actually took about 4 or 5 days befor the number was transferred. In the meantime I had a temporary number and I left my t-mobile account intact and after installing the Mint Mobile eSIM, kept my t-mobile number as the default in the meantime.
Once the transfer was complete, t-mobile was the first to contact me with a farewell message. I don't remember if it was by text or email. Then i switched my eSIM to the default and turned off the physical SIM in my iPhone settings. From there, the port was complete!
As for coverage, I live in Las Vegas and T-Mobile has decent coverage though there are spotty areas. That hasn't changed for better or for worse. However, data speeds are abysmal in comparison. I haven't run a speed test, but apps like IG tend to load images slower and there is much more initial buffering time with videos, though I haven't experienced videos stopping and rebuffering. However, skipping ahead definitely takes much longer for a YouTube video to start playing again than before. I've also experienced more connection issues with FaceTime on 5G than before. No problems to report on Spotify so far though.
Texting is fine, though I have heard anecdotally that call quality sounds bad, however that could be due to my ear buds and have nothing to do with Mint Mobile. It's still worth noting though because I've had these ear buds much longer than Mint and never heard complaints.
Overall, I spend of my time on WiFi, but I need a phone when I'm on the go so Mint Mobile is serviceable. I'm saving north of $60 a month so I'm happy. I would recommend it for those like me who don't really use 5G all too often. But if you're on the go a lot and like to use data intensive apps then you may be disappointed in the data speeds after you make the switch.

They come in PDF Format and I feel like there is no way, there's no programm that will let me read and annotate PDF on my three devices (Laptop, Ipad, Phone).
During my last time at uni I used OneNote which I love but it doesn't work with larger PDFs.

2024.06.09 20:27 Awkwardly_Respected Planning to reinstall Windows, will I lose my Office Licenses?

So, I’ve got Office 2021 installed on my PC, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Project, Visio, OneNote, and Outlook. I’m also running Windows 11 Pro.
All the internet advice says I can find my license through my Microsoft Account under Services and Subscriptions. But when I check there, it doesn’t show up. This might be because the license key was given to me by my former employer, Microsoft, for personal use. Now that I’ve lost the keys, I’m worried about what will happen if I need to reinstall Windows. Will I lose it for good?
Is there any way to retrieve the key? I tried using Command Prompt and PowerShell, which gave me a code, but I’m not sure it’s legit, especially since Project and Visio had separate license keys.

2024.06.09 20:25 PotterPuppy 10 year anniversary of his passing

Yesterday marked 10 years since a really close friend died by suicide. I would say I (mostly) healed from the trauma a couple of years ago, but obv this being the 10 years hits a bit different than the other years. (Because do we ever fully heal from someone close to us passing away?)
I met him during orientation of college, we both had this scholarship that was pretty involved (we took 2 classes a semester for it and had regular meetings). Instantly we clicked and there was probably attraction from the start but we both had S.O.s at the time. (Note to past self, entering college dating someone was such a poor idea even if that person was attending the same college). We became pretty close quickly. We had the same interest in music, movies, and didn’t get along with a number of the other scholarship kids in our cohort.
Freshman and half of sophomore year we remained really close, hanging out outside of classes a lot. I don’t remember if he dropped the scholarship first or if I did, but at some point during sophomore year we both dropped that scholarship, so we weren’t seeing each other as often, but still hung out frequently.
Then he decided he was going to transfer schools after the spring semester and I was devastated. I had developed quite the crush on him after that relationship I mentioned earlier had crashed and burned. But I was also enjoying college without seriously dating someone so him and I flirted a lot but it never went anywhere.
The summer after sophomore year we texted occasionally but I had an internship that kept me busy and there was probably a part of me that was still upset he was transferring colleges and I wouldn’t see him in the fall. (I was young and self centered, I wish I could tell past me that it had nothing to do with me) and our junior year we drifted apart even further. We’d occasionally talk, but we were both busy with our own things at different schools.
Then the June after our junior year of college, a day after my birthday, a mutual friend of ours that lived in his hometown called me and told me the most heartbreaking news, that our friend was no longer with us and that it was his little sister who found him and had to go get their mom.
There was a long period of time after that day that I kept thinking “what if I would have texted him more or called him more” because I had literally been thinking a few days before the phone call “i haven’t heard from him in a while, I need to reach out” and I never reached out.
I knew this friend struggled with his mental health and him and I talked about that often. I know there was nothing I could have done or said to change what happened. We drifted apart, that happens when you are young. His contact his still in my phone, most likely some random person owns the number now. So much has happened in the 10 years since his passing.
In 2017 I met my now husband and at some point I had a moment where I realized he looks similar to my dear friend, like similar music, etc (yeah, I have a type). And even creepier their birthdays are 3 days apart. I don’t think I’ve ever told my husband this because it’s a weird thing to bring up. It is what it is. The two of them would probably get along.
I don’t really need advice or anything. Just don’t have anyone who gets it/who I would talk to about this and with it being the 10 year anniversary I’m feeling a bit sad. Thanks for reading!

Bought this a few months ago for a lot more, I don't use it at all since my phone isn't Samsung and my wife uses Apple.
Comes with the original box, packing material, unused cable, and pin tool for the expandable memory tray.
There is the tiniest scuff ever above where the pen docks on the back. Besides that it's in perfect shape.
Should still be under factory warranty but I have no clue if that transfers. Will be factory restored, not that I have anything on it anyway. No micro SD card included.

I have the yt-dl.exe set and running, what do I input? If it's not too much of a bother, please just show me a template with 'paste URL here' space. Fritz gave bonnie alot of care, taken her to florests and etc, it was a "good father", he even made a statue of raven for her made of glass
But there was problems, when he sleeps, he have nightmares from his experiences in 1987, especially with toy bonnie, he wanted a solution for those nightmares, he made mini statues representing each fazbear enterprises character to remind of his trauma, each with its own symbolism, the famous scarecrow tatic
he was basically a danger to himself and his daughter because of the paranoia
He built a scarecrow, a mannequin, with 4 slender arms and huge fingers, who manipulated 8 strings between them, this was the birth of "strings", his machine which he put most value and the one who surpass the other ones
This scarecrow would enter fritz dreams and destroy his fear of the puppet music box, so strings destroys those nightmares with sucess
So he built other strings, to destroy his JJ nightmares from his trauma in 1979, his name was buttoms, sadly buttoms was a failure at destroying JJ nightmares
So in inspiration from the 1987 animatronics, he makes fully new advanced animatronics connected with a cpu named "weasel were", the construction of the restaurant begins

in this time, fazbear's fright was announced, which they have taken items from the past fazbear locations, in the fnaf 1 location, especially the safe room, they found 3 arcades, and a old springbonnie animatronic, where they put a joke about someone dying in that suit, and that joke became the official name for the animatronic in the atraction, "springtrap", they even found posters and a security footoge system from 1983, with also training tapes that fritz smith/phone dude knows about
in its opening, fritz/phone dude plays the old arcade which was found from the safe room, "fazbear world", where we controll JJ

but fritz forgets one thing, to give attention to his daughter, bonnie glade
Fritz was so obssesed with his work and "restore his brother" that he doesn't give attention to his own daughter
the situation was so bad that she started acting negative (just like his brother) with a apathetic face to fritz just like simon, btw fritz never told to bonnie about his dead/crazy twin brother
So with fritz totally obssesed with work, bonnie started researching about paranormal stuff and how to do the ritual about "happiest day"
So in one night she wears the toy bonnie mask to scare his father, cause ptsd on fritz, make him kill here with a axe, became a spirit, and then kill fritz to them have their "happiest day"
it worked, where she would trie to kill him, but his screams of panic made the animatronic popgoes activate and popgoes heard from fritz "bring bonnie back"
