hey everyone i figured it would be a good idea to give some positive news on my nerve injury from wisdom tooth removal! i don’t see many posts about good news so i think it would be nice to share the positive energy.
after my surgery 1 week ago i had numbness in my lower left lip, teeth/gums, and chin. i’m on day 7 right now and have not had drastic improvement since. maybe slight improvement. i have some sensation maybe 5% like i can tell if something is touching those areas kind of. and my lip is tingly. today it feels very tense.
i visited my surgeon for 1 week post op check in, and he tested the area and confirmed that i should expect full recovery of sensation since the nerve is not severed and probably just compressed from swelling, or irritated/bruised. the time it will take to heal is unclear as people heal at different rates and it depends how the nerve was damaged.
im super happy to hear that this will not be permanent and otherwise i have had a really great experience with my surgeon, procedure, and healing. even though i got nerve damage, im glad i did this procedure even if it was more preventative. i was probably going to get nerve damage eventually either from the tooth itself or necessary removal due to infection years from now. i figure its better to get it out now while im still young and nerves can heal better.

The original Orokin structure, called the Necralisk, had long since become unrecognizable from the exterior due to the overwhelming Infested growth, also known as the Grey Strain, slowly and inexorably encompassing all before it on the small planetoid that lazily orbited Mars like a frozen cephalopod. As for the Entrati themselves, they were also losing the fight against the biological contamination that threatened to absorb them body, mind and soul. In fact, that was quite literally the reason why Wukong had taken upon the task before him; a possible means to defeat, or at least overcome, the effect of the Infestation upon the organic. Wukong told Kahl-175 to stay close as an obfuscating mist fogged the senses of those around them as they passed through the vast halls and thoroughfares, although the mercurial monkey got the nagging and suspicious sense that the main caretaker bot, a machine with dual personalities of Loid and Chip, could somehow still detect him. Archaic script of the Orokin language shimmered as it was scrawled across broad swaths of the interior walls, the golden honeycomb textures left strangely unmarred with an almost kind of reverence. After avoiding human, Tenno, Warframe, and the other members of the Entrati family in their respective alcoves, Wukong and Kahl-175 approached Kaelli’s area in the farthest room from the entrance, not including the lower levels of the laboratories dedicated to Void research, the obscuring cloud that surrounded the pair expanding outward to envelope the daughter of the famed family. The Infested ensconcement which rooted the youngest Entrati in place had the appearance of a closed flower bulb, which splayed open to reveal the earnest biologist, small reading glasses perched on her blue-skinned nose, which she pushed up with her elongated left arm, typical of the Orokin people. She did not appear to be pleased. “Kahl! Where have you been? You disappeared days ago after asking me where the latest Archon sighting was, so I began to assume the worst had happened!” Kahl-175 dropped his broad shoulders, mechanicals whirring, finding sudden interest in the condition of his boots, eyes downcast. “Kahl.. sorry. Was busy.” “...Busy? You were busy? Too busy to use your comm?” Kahl shook his head slowly, “No.. but yes.. hard to explain.” he stammered before looking sidelong to Wukong. “My apologies. Kahl and I were extremely busy, and he really did want to contact you, but the work was vital and very relevant to why we’re here now.” Kaelli swiveled her angry gaze to the space simian, ambient light reflecting and flashing across the facets of her glasses, and if he had wings, he would have felt the heat on them. “You, Ayatan? So either of you could have sent a message but-” “Kaelli,” Wukong spoke in a sharp tone and his own eyes flickered fiery for a moment, prompting Kahl-175 to uncomfortably shift weight from one boot to the other, as the mercurial monkey was unused to being severely rebuked, especially considering their reason for being here. He paused to see if she was going to continue, however she took a deep breath before nodding for him to proceed. “What would you do if you weren’t constrained by your current condition? If you were cured of the Grey Strain?” The Entrati Daughter’s eyes widened, clearly in disbelief, quickly darting to Kahl-175 standing beside the space simian before returning to Wukong. “Impossible! There is no cure. Trust me, we have tried.. and tried… and tried with zero success. So many samples, so many trial and errors, nothing.” she said with a heavy sigh. Wukong nodded slowly, “Perhaps that’s because you’ve been fighting in the wrong arena. Kahl, the blade.” The grizzled warrior reached down to a side-pocket of his military fatigues and withdrew a small hilt, like that belonging to a sword or dagger, except no blade was attached. Kahl-175 flipped up U-shaped metal flanges on both sides of the hilt to form the crosspiece and reveal a slender, oblong crystalline grip. Once the crosspiece was fully extended, a quiet crackling sound like pieces of broken glass grinding together was heard as a five foot blade quite literally grew quickly upward from the hilt. The celestial chimp’s eyes never left Kaelli’s face as she watched in rapt wonder at the swift process. Before she could ask, Wukong said, “Do you know what this is?” and she simply shook her head, short and tidy dreadlocks swaying with the motion. “This,” as Kahl firmly and confidently held the weapon tip down, “is Vitrica. It was used by Nihil, who was the Executioner of the Orokin Council of Seven, to dispense of various, shall we say, unwholesome elements of their empire. It’s quite a wonder, actually, a relic of a bygone age discovered by the Orokin in places better left undisturbed, and they used it as a tool to dispense judgment and retribution. In short, they glassed their enemies and malcontents.They were so impressed with it’s effects on cowing the population that they later emulated it with their technology.” Kaelli blinked her eyes rapidly, finally managing to tear her eyes away from the beautiful blade, “Are you suggesting that you glass me? What kind of cure is that, exactly?” she asked in an incredulous tone. “That’s not the cure, merely the first step, to remove you from your biological contamination. Vitrica, yes, can simply glass someone. However, it also pulls their oro, their essence or soul, into the seriglass hilt when thrust into the body, creating an oroshard. That’s how Nihil ultimately created the Cephalons, but it was an imperfect process. They used technology to digitize that energy but it wasn’t able to fully replicate it. That’s why there is always damage to the psyche, memory loss, gaps.” “How could you possibly know all this?” “Nihil is imprisoned on my ship, a trinket on a shelf thanks to the efforts of Nora Night, with literally no one else to talk to. We’ve discussed a great many things in fact, most of which are not remotely relevant to this conversation. His masters no longer hold any sway over him, as they are long gone, nor could he ever wish for freedom without some form of leverage to bargain with. I wanted some very specific knowledge concerning Vitrica and oroshards that I could probably discover on my own through other avenues, but it would take time, which is something that you and your family do not possess an indefinite amount of.” Kaelli, ever the scientist, hungered for details, eyes behind her glasses boring into Wukong. “What happens after I’m glassed?” Wukong inclined his head in pragmatic appreciation, “To the point, yes. Kahl and I have been retrofitting Tyr Regor’s cloning research facility on Uranus to provide the oroshard an organic environment to prompt the growth of a new body of Orokin origin.” “Where did you get the Orokin sample?” “The Unum of Cetus. The Orokin towers such as her’s use a very basic organic material that we’ve rendered down into amino. We would place your oroshard into a container full of amino, where-” “My oro would suffuse the amino and basically instruct it to build a body.” Another nod. “Exactly so. The spark of life, as it were.” “A surprisingly solid theory. I’m impressed, Ayatan.” “Thank you; however it is just that, a theory. As such, there is significant risk after you’ve been glassed and contained within the oroshard that the process could fail within the amino tank and you’ll remain as is.” Kaelli pursed her violet lips, bringing her hand up to her chin, tapping on it with her index finger. “So, my options are either that if I remain here, I will eventually succumb to the Grey Strain and become a mindless monster. Or I risk getting glassed and stuck as a crystal but I could be cured.” “Yes. I can say even if the amino process fails, I can use the containment environment for Nihil for you instead, so you would possess some degree of existence, albeit limited. At least you would not, in your words, be stuck as a crystal.” “And you said you visited Nihil in this place?” her blue eyes once again darting to Kahl and back to Wukong behind her gold-rimmed glasses. “Yes.” “And what happens to my old body, it will be glassed and stay here? What about my family?” The celestial chimp turned his head to the left, looking over his shoulder in the direction of Kermerros, her brother and the one responsible for bringing the Grey Strain within the Necralisk and infecting the Entrati family, before turning back to face Kaelli. “That is up to you. I’m not familiar with your sleep patterns, if you sleep or hibernate for extended cycles, but I would suggest retreating within your.. encapsulation before you are glassed. It will draw less attention, at least for enough time for us to make it back to the ship and leave, as I don’t think your family is going to appreciate the risk you are considering taking.” The youngest child of the Entrati family looked down at what Wukong had called her ‘encapsulation’, which struck her as a cold and sterile term for what it truly was: the slow and eventual consumption of not just her body, but her mind as well. And considering it tapered off at just below her collarbone, it didn’t appear to give her much time left at all. The soft glow of her blue eyes snapped up to meet Kahl-175’s and she quietly whispered, “Will it hurt?” Wukong simply said, “Yes.” Kaelli, eyes full of emotion that began to overflow and spill down her blue-skinned cheeks, reached up with trembling hands to remove her glasses, holding them out to the space simian, who took them into his taloned grip with surprising gentleness. “I’m ready.” and slowly retracted into the sconce after a final look at the Grineer tubeman, his own chiseled features grim and set except for the slightest of trembles about his chin. Wukong once again swiveled his head to the left, and once he had Kermerros in his outer peripheral vision, said aloud in a subdued tone, “To the hilt, Kahl. Until the light is drawn out and into the oroshard.” With a deep breath, Kahl-175 took a hesitant step forward and drew back, paused for the briefest of moments before powerfully thrusting forward, burying Virtrica the entirety of the blade into what Wukong had defined as Kaelli’s encapsulation. The glass effect spread hungrily, like frost on a cold surface, quickly devouring the fleshy material that ensconced the youngest Entrati, her blood-curdling scream resulting from the consumption of her body barely contained by the Infested bulb and the effects of Wukong’s dampening cloud that permeating the immediate area. A soft cerulean glow suffused the hilt of Vitrica before Kahl-175, eyes riveted to the grip, one organic and the other cybernetic, and with a sudden twist of his wrist, snapped the hilt of the blade off before clutched it tightly to his chest and looking at Wukong. Without another word, the mercurial monkey put a taloned hand on Kahl-175’s shoulder and hastily retreated from the Necralisk to their Skaut craft before anyone realized what they had done. |

30F, CO USA. History of migraine, pigmented purpuric dermatosis. Medications taken are aimovig, Maxalt as needed, Nurtec as needed, Wellbutrin xl 150mg, progesterone only birth control.
I was having pain in the inner lower portion of my knee/top of shin area on both sides. It was very painful to touch but not just a general pain if I wasn’t. This occurred for many months and finally I asked my doctor who said it was likely pes anserine bursitis. He injected both areas with a steroid like 2+ months ago
It helped and I have very little pain now which is great! In the downside, my legs became discolored at the site of injection. It is not warm, or painful, and doesn’t appear to be any type of infection.
The areas are now red/purple and the skin in only that area is a little dry and scaly. The discoloration tends to vary and they get extra dark if in a warm shower or outside in the heat. They seemed to get more red also when walking a lot (I was in Vegas so tons of walking like 30-50K steps per day).

I had some splotchy blood spots a while back that we biopsied and it came back as “pigmented purpuric dermatosis” and nothing serious. Steroid cream cleared it almost immediately. He seemed really stumped what this one could be because it doesn’t seem related to the PPD, looks and acts different. I’ve been using .05% clobetasol on it for 5 days with no changes and I can’t get into a derm for a bit.
Any ideas what it could be?? I’m so curious for input.

 | Previous posts: TDI, TDA, WT submitted by GeometryDash_Gamer to Totaldrama [link] [comments] Note (will delete later): I'm really tired rn and want to do some other stuff, so I'll respond to more comments later ROTI Character Ranking 13: Staci (My Great Great Grandpa Invented Better First Boots) - Out of all my least favorites throughout each season, Staci is the least offensive as a character designed to be an annoying throwaway first boot, which speaks volumes about the rest of this cast. But it doesn't mean I have to like her. On top of having a grating voice, I find her to be a very lazy character. And the existence of Island Ezekiel proves that Total Drama is capable of creating more nuanced and three-dimensional first boots. She did provide some funny reactions from others though 12: Anne Maria (Heart Beneath the Tan) - Anne Maria is a character I found annoying in hindsight but has grown on me since. Despite having some of the same flaws that I really look down on Justin for, Anne Maria’s flaws are made far more tolerable and utilized better with her rivalry with Jo. She has some pretty funny moments and has a surprisingly more likable personality than what it initially seems. But I wish she got expanded on a bit more outside of her role in the Mike and Zoey love triangle. While not bad, the plot didn't do her a ton of favors for me and even brought out her less likable qualities. She acted very petty towards Zoey, and I don't think canon portrayed her any better or worse than what was warranted. Her elimination was unfortunate though 11: Mike (Multiple Personality Traits) - For how controversial he is, he was pretty good this season. Putting aside the questionable premise behind him ignoring his doctor's orders, his MPD was handled better this season and treated more as a legitimately serious issue for him. And while I don’t find him the most entertaining, he is definitely far from bland. He served as a surprisingly good catalyst for drama, and his flaws actually got utilized in an interesting way. And while he is probably the most in the wrong during the Love Triangle, you can easily sympathize with his motivations. Zoke was actually wholesome and healthy here. And it was nice seeing Mike get accepted for his disorder and learn from his mistakes. He also has some surprisingly good one-liners and was quick to sus out Scott. Plus you gotta appreciate all the times he saves Zoey 10: Jo (The Cutthroat Tomboy) - At her best she’s great, fantastic even. From her general demeanor coupled with her array of zingers, her juicy rivalries, and even some occasions of big-braining the challenges, Jo’s a fun character with a lot to like. She also had some nice depth with her secret girly side, even yielding some funny moments. However, there were two episodes that showed her to be a complete dumbass, from her performance in episode 4 (not-to-mention her hypocrisy towards Brick), to betraying her only ally for no reason (episode 9). While stupidity is not always a bad thing, it felt contradictory to Jo’s character and just didn’t do her any favors for me. All things considered, she’s a good but flawed character 9: Lightning (Maximum Physical, Minimum Brain Power) - He's pretty entertaining with some especially hilarious moments. But there's not a ton that appeals to me beyond that. While his physical prowess is really good, he didn't really have an exceptional challenge performance to back it up. I also think Jo would've been a better finalist than him. But his placement was pretty harmless, all things considered. With that said, I think he's better off losing since winning would reward his dad's behavior. Speaking of which, I really would've liked to see his background with his dad get expanded on 8: Dawn (The Cute Psychic) - At one point, I criticized Dawn for having unexplained unrealistic abilities that didn’t fit in with the Total Drama universe. But looking back, I don’t actually care about that. Despite only lasting for five episodes, Dawn left a pretty great impression on me. She has a nice and very likable personality. Her gimmick is unique, served as a great plot device to flesh out other characters, and even provided some surprisingly funny moments. Though it's not like she's too perfect either. Not only did she creep others out multiple times, but her tendency to just see the good in others prevented her from sussing out Scott earlier. And as for utilization, she helped B communicate his ideas to the team, which played a part in them winning. And she served as a good catalyst for Scott's run as a villain. Overall, Dawn is a great pre-merge boot, and people need to calm down about her being "overrated" or "underrated" 7: B (The Man of Swag) - Sure the dude doesn't talk. But he pulled some of the coolest feats in challenges, all the while exuding a cool and confident aura. Similar to Dawn, he was another great early boot, and Scott getting him out early was a good move as he would've steam-rolled the competition otherwise. His scream at the end was also funny, and you gotta give him plus points for his drip 6: Sam (The Pro Gamer) - While I don’t find him the most charming, he makes for a great underdog character with a great personality to back it up. He is very self-aware and humble, which makes him both funny and likable. He took things slow with Dakota and stayed true to his authentic self around her, which eventually won over her love and appreciation. Speaking of which, Samkota is also a very well-done relationship with great build-up and great jokes. And while I'm not the biggest fan of Dakota's turn into a monster, it carries some amusing irony in that it changes who the bigger and smaller person in the relationship is 5: Dakota (The Biggest Thing Ever) - Dakota is a character I slept on at first. I found her rather whiny and annoying with her lack of participation in challenges. But overtime, she really grew on me. On top of having a unique reason to join the competition, she has one of the most complex personalities in the cast with some great development to back it up. And like I said with Sam, Samkota is a great relationship that complements her development well. Dakotazoid was very unfortunate and unneeded, and seeing her in a dumbed down state was just hard to watch. But even then, she had some very badass moments and saved others from mutant creatures multiple times 4: Scott (The Scheming Dirtbag) - Another one of the better villains in the series, this guy is a fantastic blend of comedic and threatening. He had a versatile set of humor, whether it was his ruthless and cunning demeanor, his various quips towards others, or his confessionals that utilized pain-magnet humor in a far more creative way during his plotting. Coupled with this, he had a surprisingly effective strategy that got rid of some of the big threats early, all the while knowing how to exploit people's flaws. And can I just say, his strategy was not stupid. Being a part of a losing team was a great way to make himself not come off as a threat in the merge. And even if he didn't totally succeed in having a lot of influence by then, he was still able to adapt in other ways. This was shown no better than how he exploited the friendship trio, from gaining Zoey’s trust, to taking advantage of Cameron and Mike’s flaws. Unfortunately, some of his schemes weren't without missteps in execution. And from a personal standpoint, his episode 9 iteration made him villainous in a way that was far more aggravating than fun to watch. Though I think his schemes made sense conceptually, with most of his missteps being hiccups rather than character-ruining moments, akin to making a careless mistake on a math problem you otherwise knew how to do. The dude was also crafty and knew how to utilize his newfound shark-tooth. On that topic, his rivalry with Fang was really fun on his end. I found his karma pretty over-the-top, but it doesn't make me like him any less and just made me feel bad for him to a degree. While he isn’t without flaws and doesn’t quite reach the same highs as Alejandro for me, he still remained one of the most entertaining characters of the season and is a fantastic villain in his own right 3: Brick (I Salute You) - From top-notch humor, fantastic interactions (most notably Jo), to his general work-ethic, Brick is simply a chad and fills all the boxes in what makes a character good. But best yet, he's a true hero and an all-around admirable person. He also has depth and subversive elements to his character, most notably his goofy side which you don’t usually expect in someone with his background. He even sacrificed his position in the game to save the friendship trio, rightfully earning their salutes. And above all, he's just a blast to have on screen. Despite not making it too far, not a single moment of screen-time was wasted with Brick. While he may not be my personal favorite, he rightfully earns his spot as a universally-liked character 2: Cameron (From a Bubble Boy to an Elite Badass) - While he has a rough start and has a couple of cheesy moments, I thoroughly enjoy Cameron's run in his debut season. Despite having the physical strength of a fly, the dude proved himself indispensable to the team multiple times, pulling a handful of big-brain strats to help complete challenges more efficiently. He was also the first one to figure Mike's MPD out and help him with it, making for an excellent friendship. On that topic, he had a pretty good social game and did a great job of staying under the radar, but also knew when allies were worth keeping or not. This all culminated in his legendary performance in the finale, which was both impressive and even solidified him as a true hero. Despite entertainment-value not being his strongest suit, he has other endearing qualities to him, from his fascination with everything he sees and experiences for the first time in the outside world, to his friendships and rivalries with various people (my personal favorite being his friendship with Zoey). Bottom-line, Cameron is simply a feel-good character with a lot of really cool moments and an incredibly satisfying arc, making for one of the most deserving finalists in the series and one of my personal favorite protagonists 1: Zoey (The Girl Next Door) - It isn’t until after Mike’s elimination that she peaks. And when she does, she has some of the best moments in the series. But even before, I found her highly endearing. Her passive tendencies are relatable and have a lot of comedic moments surrounding them. She is a good blend of being kind all-the-while not being too perfect. Despite this, she was never straight-up unlikable. She is also easy to feel bad for with how much she goes through, from the love triangle mess to her kindness being taken advantage of by multiple people. This all culminated in her becoming more bitter and vengeful in the later episodes, leading to Commando Zoey. While rather corny at times, Commando Zoey is such a cool and badass climax to her being pushed around throughout the season. Plus, her arc comes in full-circle with a very satisfying and wholesome resolution. Her friendship with Cameron and her rivalry with Scott are both some of my personal favorite interactions in the series, and I think a good chunk of the merge episodes really exemplify why (especially episode 10). I also really like Zoke this season. On Zoey’s end, it was nice seeing her accept Mike for his disorder. And even putting aside my opinion on her, I’d argue she acted the most reasonably out of the three during the Love Triangle and did the most to actually try to fix the situation. It’s also worth noting, the friendship trio all share common ground in growing up isolated, which makes the three of them bonding all the sweeter. Same deal as Cameron, while I wouldn’t call her the most deep or well-written, Zoey is just such a feel-good character backed with a satisfying arc with a fantastic resolution. She also had some surprisingly nuanced lines and good quips here and there (mainly towards people who actually deserved it). And above all else, she’s absolutely adorable. For all these reasons and more, Zoey is the best part of this season for me. Though with this lineup, you can make a case for almost any of the characters |

Yesterday afternoon I decided to take some laxatives to help me with some constipation. I was having a hard time putting down some water and felt like it was due to me not having a movement in a little while.
Around 3 pm I took 2 capfulls of miralax.. in 12 oz of olipop. I then took 2 dulcolax stimulants. My reasoning behind this was when I went to the ER last year for severe constipation they gave me instructions for clearing out my system with laxatives and Gatorade. So I was trying to slightly recreate that. As even that took a good day or 2 before the flood gates opened.
Little did I know I was in for the worst pain. I wasn’t feeling well still and decided to take a nap. I woke up from said nap and felt okay. Another 30 minutes or so pass. I started to feel like I might throw up. I started walking to my bathroom and that’s when it all came out. I projectiled on the floor. Twice it got all over the doors then got to the toilet and continued. It was so violent I started to pee each time. The burrito I had eaten for lunch was coming up. My stomach briefly felt better. Only to be followed by 2 more sessions of puking. I felt like I was going to die. I sat on my bathroom floor in a ball breathing and blowing my nose. I have never felt so dirty in my life.
I finally mustered up the strength to take a shower as my stomach clearly had nothing more to launch. I was too fatigued to stand in the shower so I sat and let the water flow. I could barely keep my eyes open so I turned the water off as to not accidentally drown if I passed out.
I eventually got my strength back and was able to put on a robe and go to sleep. I woke up today and feel like I can barely breathe. Laughing hurts, I’ve had nothing but yogurt, a little water , and a few ice cubes. Now the laxatives are working as intended and I keep going to the toilet. However I feel so empty it’s nothing but water. I have a fever of 100.1 and my body aches. I am glad I’m not dead as much as I felt like yesterday was my day to go. However the effects of what I took have taken a toll on me. I feel lowkey traumatized 🥹.
I’m about to try to have my first “meal”. And begin the process of rehydration.

I don't really know how to start these kind of things, but I figured starting somewhere is good. I've been crying tears of relief for the past week that I finally have the resolve to kill myself, and now its a relief without tears. I'm planning a week from now, when It's more than likely I'll be left to myself and can get out of the house without much notice or care from anyone and can go to the several building options I scoped out.
I'll make sure I go head first, close my eyes imagine I'm flying maybe.
I will be successful; I couldn't be able to stand the 'sudden' concern and amplified pity from people if I did survive an attempt. The last thing I want to be is a weight to anyone.
I'm supposed to be 25 in a month. I have wanted to die 40% of my life. I don't know if it was my parents separating, my mother becoming a religious narcissistic nut to the point that I barely recognize her from the woman who held me in her arms and comforted me, my father's wife molesting me for 5 years only for my father to not do anything about it and emotionally abandon our relationship beyond repair, or a combination of all of these things that made me have this constant hollow feeling inside, but it's become a part of me at this point. Of course there were other things, but I've learned from therapy these are the main aches.
I don't believe anyone anymore when they say it "gets better." It never lasts, it always gets taken away, a perpetual cycle of abuse and putting the stability of others before me. Its just a matter of fact that some people just arent fated to survive past a certain age, and everyday I regret not going through with it when I was 22. So much pain would have been spared from me, and I wouldn't be in this weird idle period where I'm fighting one last time for life to be better.
The one thing, of many im grateful for is my partner. I'm glad they got to show me a gentle love, even if for a few brief moments. I'm glad I can die knowing I was maybe genuinely, selflessly loved romantically by at least one person.
I hope the world that comes after me, the world awaiting my found family is kind to them, and kind for everyone else too.

I'm a 38F, 5'2", 188lbs, Caucasian, with chronic pain and elevated WBC for 1.5 years, and I do NOT smoke or drink alcohol. Current DX of PCOS, ADHD, OCD, and depression. I take Adderall XR 25mg and Sertraline 125mg daily.
Symptoms are: FATIGUE. Does not matter if I sleep 8 hours. I will be tired. I still drink coffee on top of Adderall, which I've only been on for the last year. It has helped, but I still marvel at how exhausted I feel. I work for 6 hours daily, come home and NAP for an hour. Sleep 6-8 hours night on average, maybe 8-9 on weekends. My job is not strenuous.
Sweating. I do wake up dripping a lot of the time, but it also happens during the day, even when I'm sitting down.
Feeling feverish... I say "feeling" because it's not always detected on thermometer. I get chills, body aches, weird feeling in the back of my throat and feel like I'm coming down with something, but then will be fine the following morning the majority of the time.
PAIN. I have constant, daily pain in my hands. I can barely grip a pen or my phone without having to stop and rub my hands to get sensation back. The pain and numbness is on the back of my hands and fingers (all but pinky) on both sides. It wakes me up at night and I have to switch positions because my hands randomly go numb. The pain is also in my neck. This causes constant tension headaches, knots in my traps and if I'm having a particularly bad "flare", I can feel it radiate down my upper arm and into my hands. I also get pain in the top of my feet, but it's not as frequent and mild in comparison.
THE LABS:
CBC DIFF WBC-- Elevated 6x within the last year, at every lab that was taken (12 to 16 THOU/uL) Everything else within normal ranges, except for Neutrophils (high, 12.82THOU/uL last test) and Monocytes (1.12THOU/uL last test).
So, my question is, what should I ask my doctor to look for as next steps? I was screened in 2022 for SED rate, rheumatoid factor and C reactive protein and the tests were normal, but my symptoms were not as severe then. Should I ask to check again? What should my concerns be with these symptoms and lab?

Gentry’s sweet cravings were getting out of hand.
The last time she had a proper dessert was almost a week ago, and if she had something to say about it, no amount of saccharine text exchanges with pretty boys was going to replace a good old sugar rush. A couple of days ago Sereen treated her to the sweetest snack she could get with her status and that piece of dried fruit was nowhere near enough to satisfy G’s sweet tooth.
So many vending machines and eateries, but not a single good bakery? Hell, even a crappy one would do at this point! She had to hunt down some glucose tonight.
After Sereen’s initial tour around the city, she went off leaving G to explore the city on her own. It was getting easier and easier. With the auglasses on, finding her way around proved pretty intuitive, not in the least thanks to the distinct chessboard-like layout of Ashtapada. Each district had a letter-number label. By remembering one’s “square code”, one could find their way back on foot or by cab in no time wherever they found themselves.
Gentry spent hours exploring the wide walking streets and little nooks that offered yet another glimpse into Ashtapadan reality. She once stumbled upon a bookshop with nothing on the shelves but blank-page tomes. The shopkeeper asked her what she was looking for and after finding out the she was a Newcomer, explained that it was a book-on-demand type of place. She would place an order for a story and he would write it for her in a matter of days.
What confused her most was the snow-white buildings of the city. Despite being made with rough porous concrete, they were drowning in lush greenery that sometimes looked like it nearly chocked the structure. Each had the same distinct feature, though, that made them all look unfinished: however tall or short was the building, the top floor always looked under construction. Though there always were the omnipresent hounds on each of the working site, there were never any cranes or scaffolding visible. The obliging auglasses offered G the answer: everything from the smallest houses to the few high rises was essentially self-producing! From what little she understood reading about this advancement, the carbon in the atmosphere was captured by special aerial filters and dissolved in some water. It later went through the pipes in the buildings’ skeleton-like armature and got sprayed on. As the water evaporated, the carbon solidified into neat coral-like blocks that formed the walls and other structures.
Well, that explained why the fumes she saw on the outskirts smoked backwards!
It was getting dark and the orderly streets came alive once G engaged her glasses that revealed the digital underside of Ashtapada again. Every business had a modest sign in the physical world that didn’t stand out on the angular facades. But there also was a hidden bright animated augmented-reality one that could compete with Broadway neon in brightness.
Signs like these weren’t just decorating the facades: the 3D ones flashing on the ground filled almost the whole field of view, too. They looked amazingly enticing in the evening dusk. Information stalls with digital assistants, huge arrows pointing at meeting points, temporary signs inviting strangers to join a club gathering — Gentry was going to gawk at every single one tonight. She came up to some of them, waving hands in the air to try and touch the flickering lights, not caring what she looked like from the outside. Ashtapadans seemed a very relaxed bunch, not putting their noses in others’ business, which felt liberating. Noting how other people in the streets interacted with 3D service bots, G came up to one of them, too.
“Hello, Gentry, how can I help you tonight?” it chirped. The hologram looked like a cute animated girl with an elaborate pink hairdo. “You can ask me a question directly or say “What can you do” to access the list of commands.”
“Hi!” G said. “Do you have a name?”
“You can call me Yukio,” it responded with a little curtsy. “I can answer any questions, show you around or chat about anything!”
Any question? It must know where the desserts were sold! On second thought, wasn’t there something more important than that? Something that brought G here in the first place.
“I’m looking for a person named Exxy Mah,” she said to the patiently smiling girl. “Is there a citizen or a newcomer with this name?”
“There is!” Yukio answered, gleefully jumping in the air. “Exxy Mah is a famous Ashtapadan, she is an advocate for healthy living. You might have seen her on posters and screens around the city.”
The woman in the picture the assistant conjured up floating in thin air showed an elderly woman. She was looking very fit for her age but it clearly wasn’t the Exxy Gentry knew.
“Hmm... That’s not her...” G said. “There has to be another.”
The girl suddenly looked on the verge of tears. “I’m sorry! It’s the only one in Ashtapada! No other Citizens or Newcomers are registered by this name!”
Did her friend change her name then?
“A friend of mine should’ve arrived here last year under the same name. Can you check where she is now?”
Yukio’s helpful attitude fell apart in an instant. Her posture became stiff like a 3D model she was and a voice void of any emotion informed, “Personal data on people of Ashtapada, including their whereabouts is protected by the privacy laws of the city. Please rephrase your search.”
A blink later, the same cute Yukio was standing in front of G again.
“Can I help with anything else?” she smiled.
Was there a way to ask this dummy in a way that would give her at least a hint about her friend?
“Ok, Yukio,” G attempted. “When did the famous Exxy Mah you mentioned arrive at Ashtapada?”
The girl flickered into a wooden statue again, “Personal data on people...”
“Ok, ok, I got it,” G waved. “Bring back the friendly assistant, you creep me out.”
“Can I help with anything else?” the model went again.
G sighed.
“Is there a place a newcomer can get something sweet, a chocolate or a cake perhaps?”
Yukio gasped indignantly, “Ashtapada has a very strict policy on stimulants! You can’t legally buy any tobacco, alcohol, products with added sugar and other such substances!”
“Such substances!” G hollered, forgetting for a second that she was talking to a lifeless simulation. “Sugar is completely harmless! It’s good for your brains you know! Can I at least ask a Сitizen to get me a snack?”
The girl crossed her arms in defiance.
“You can’t buy any dessert in Ashtapada, whatever your status, the law is for everyone. No refined sugar!”
G thought for a moment, rewinding their conversation in her memory.
“Did you say I can’t buy sugar legally?”— Gentry perked up — “Is there a black market of sweets I can go to?”
“A black market of sweets!”
Yukio stared. It was clearly the first time she had had to deal with this particular word combination. It took her a second or two to process the request.
“There’s no black market of sweets in Ashtapada,” she stated, confidently, at last.
“Ok, pinkhead,” G said, rolling her eyes. “I guess it took all candy floss in Ashtapada to make that hair.”
Annoyed at the assistant, she stomped through the bright neon figure in front of her and into the pedestrian street now full of people.
If there was a place with some glucose in this stuck-up place, she was going to sniff it out.

The hunt wasn’t of much success. After watching a street performance by a group of dancers, listening to an impromptu debate and taking part in a couple of opinion polls, Gentry finally felt that it had been a little too much. Even with the auglasses disengaged, he noise, the people and the boisterous crowds in the streets seemed to pour light and sound directly into her brain in an endless stream. It gave her a headache.
Calling up a map from her wristcomm with an already practised motion, she marked a place nearby that looked much quieter and had a swarm of vending machines, too.
Screw the sugar, she just needed some water now.
The place was indeed quite secluded. The narrow street started on the edge of the bustling zone she just left but didn’t seem to cut into the living district. It wasn’t used by many people, but, to G’s surprise, it seemed to be used by hounds, scurrying back and forth with parcels, trash bags and other loads of lesser identifiability.
Perhaps this little alley was shared by humans and these tireless little helpers over the course of the day? The hounds would make use of it in the night but workers would walk it to leave the residential area when the sun was up? That would explain the line of vending machines along both sides, with their tempting lights that invited to at least take a look.
Sadly, their insides weren’t as tempting as the signs promised.
G walked past the rows of healthy corn-based snacks, rows of dried fruit packets, lines of non-edible stuff like auglasses upgrades and finally ended up in front of a drinks machine. It immediately identified her by scanning the device on her wrist and merrily chimed a hello. G frowned. The few options that were available to a newcomer with an embarrassingly low status like hers immediately got illuminated, hiding more enticing bottles and cans in relative darkness.
No need to rub it in, you soulless beast!
But... there was a can that looked a little sweeter than others. Perhaps it was because of its sickly-pink colour, or a pattern vaguely reminding of chewing gum printed along its rims together with the fact that it was unavailable to pheasants like her, but something told Gentry that it probably was it. A sweet drink she was after.
Or, at least, sweetish.
Against better judgment, she tapped the touchglass to order it.
Nothing. The little screen insisted that she must choose what was available.
She scanned her comm again.
Nothing.
She engaged the little flashlight in her glasses and looked at the can more carefully.
Was it... a little askew?
It definitely was.
Its lower rim was half-hanging in the air, the release mechanism lazily holding it in place.
A good shove...
A good shove would probably drop the can down.
Wouldn’t it?
G looked around and immediately felt a pang of guilt.
She hadn’t done anything, officer!
Yet.
No people, just a couple of smaller hounds rhythmically clip-clopping along the dim alley.
Should she?
The can looked at her from behind the glass like a captive princess, waiting to be rescued from the agonizing imprisonment. Someone to grab its slender body, deflower it with a skilled motion and drain its sweet nectar in a couple of gulps.
Hang in there, my sweet prize, your saviour is coming!
Another hopefully inconspicuous glance around confirmed there were still no people in the alley.
Gentry stepped to the side and leaned on the machine, estimating its weight.
Not too bad.
She leaned in heavier, feet pushing into the ground, legs and back straining against the cool metal.
A little more, and...
One of the little hounds stopped and looked G over, like a dog that saw a little furry animal that could be torn apart.
What, little buddy? Just taking a break. Is it against the law to lean on vending machines?
Gentry urged the walking robot to move along with a little shove of her foot and immediately felt a little bad when it obediently left without making much fuss.
Why the guilt? It wasn’t like she kicked the little guy!
Still, Gentry felt emboldened by the little victory against the mindless machine.
Surely, the frigid castle that held her sugary princess shouldn’t be of much trouble either.
With a renewed wind in her sails, she stepped back a couple of meters and slammed her whole body into the automate that answered with a promising clanking. Another good push and the visual assessment confirmed that the pink princess was nearly saved. Gentry smashed into the box one last time and the can that she longed for finally jangled down and into the pick-up box.
Gentry’s exhilaration lasted only for a second, however. Before she could retrieve the can she lusted after, something much bigger than a modest dog-sized carrier hound filled her field of vision. A larger four-legged robot that also had something fastened on its back and belly. It stood motionless, its front camera glinting in the uneven light like a bird of prey’s, watching G as she stood up after the impact, unsure what to do.
Was it a police hound or something? Unlikely. There were no marks on it that would identify it as such. What was its problem then?
It’s alright, mate, be on your way now.
G slowly moved her hand towards the pick-up box and almost grabbed the cool can when the hound gently shoved her hand aside with its boxy head.
What’s your problem, pal?
Gentry considered if it was worth it being accused of theft so soon after arriving at Ashtapada. Was it really that bad though? She could always claim it just dropped there by itself.
She pushed the hound’s stump of a head back, covering its camera with her palm, reaching for the can again. This time, as if blinded by her hand, the hound didn’t do anything to stop it.
Ah, easy. These machines were too dumb.
Gentry stepped back, completely sure that the matter was settled, and popped the can open. Its sweet scent filled her nostrils with a seductive promise. But the hound had other plans. Once his camera was uncovered, it seemed to focus on the offending drink again and made to awkwardly sway its head to kick it out of G’s hands.
Excuse me? What about the Laws of Robotics, mate? Rings a bell?
It wasn’t hard to dodge the clumsy assault, but the sheer size of the robot made G uneasy. If it seriously wanted to harm her, it could just stomp on her foot and shatter the bones there like fragile glass.
Better get out of here then.
Finally making a sip of the promising nectar, Gentry moved back towards the light opening of the alley, flanking the beast at a respectful distance before scrunching her face in disgust.
Shit! The drink wasn’t sweet in the slightest! It was all a lie! Vile flavourings! She was cheated! Her lovely princess lured her with a siren’s song and stabbed her right in the heart!
Disillusioned, G gripped the can tighter as if in retaliation and picked up the pace.
The hound wasn’t having it though. Surprisingly agile on its metal hooves, it appeared in front of Gentry, blocking her way out. The robots usually looked more like docile cows or donkeys, especially when they were loaded with cargo, but this one, now... looked like a real hound. Gentry’s sweet cravings were getting out of hand.
The last time she had a proper dessert was almost a week ago, and if she had something to say about it, no amount of saccharine text exchanges with pretty boys was going to replace a good old sugar rush. A couple of days ago Sereen treated her to the sweetest snack she could get with her status and that piece of dried fruit was nowhere near enough to satisfy G’s sweet tooth.
So many vending machines and eateries, but not a single good bakery? Hell, even a crappy one would do at this point! She had to hunt down some glucose tonight.
After Sereen’s initial tour around the city, she went off leaving G to explore the city on her own. It was getting easier and easier. With the auglasses on, finding her way around proved pretty intuitive, not in the least thanks to the distinct chessboard-like layout of Ashtapada. Each district had a letter-number label. By remembering one’s “square code”, one could find their way back on foot or by cab in no time wherever they found themselves.
Gentry spent hours exploring the wide walking streets and little nooks that offered yet another glimpse into Ashtapadan reality. She once stumbled upon a bookshop with nothing on the shelves but blank-page tomes. The shopkeeper asked her what she was looking for and after finding out the she was a Newcomer, explained that it was a book-on-demand type of place. She would place an order for a story and he would write it for her in a matter of days.
What confused her most was the snow-white buildings of the city. Despite being made with rough porous concrete, they were drowning in lush greenery that sometimes looked like it nearly chocked the structure. Each had the same distinct feature, though, that made them all look unfinished: however tall or short was the building, the top floor always looked under construction. Though there always were the omnipresent hounds on each of the working site, there were never any cranes or scaffolding visible. The obliging auglasses offered G the answer: everything from the smallest houses to the few high rises was essentially self-producing! From what little she understood reading about this advancement, the carbon in the atmosphere was captured by special aerial filters and dissolved in some water. It later went through the pipes in the buildings’ skeleton-like armature and got sprayed on. As the water evaporated, the carbon solidified into neat coral-like blocks that formed the walls and other structures.
Well, that explained why the fumes she saw on the outskirts smoked backwards!
It was getting dark and the orderly streets came alive once G engaged her glasses that revealed the digital underside of Ashtapada again. Every business had a modest sign in the physical world that didn’t stand out on the angular facades. But there also was a hidden bright animated augmented-reality one that could compete with Broadway neon in brightness.
Signs like these weren’t just decorating the facades: the 3D ones flashing on the ground filled almost the whole field of view, too. They looked amazingly enticing in the evening dusk. Information stalls with digital assistants, huge arrows pointing at meeting points, temporary signs inviting strangers to join a club gathering — Gentry was going to gawk at every single one tonight. She came up to some of them, waving hands in the air to try and touch the flickering lights, not caring what she looked like from the outside. Ashtapadans seemed a very relaxed bunch, not putting their noses in others’ business, which felt liberating. Noting how other people in the streets interacted with 3D service bots, G came up to one of them, too.
“Hello, Gentry, how can I help you tonight?” it chirped. The hologram looked like a cute animated girl with an elaborate pink hairdo. “You can ask me a question directly or say “What can you do” to access the list of commands.”
“Hi!” G said. “Do you have a name?”
“You can call me Yukio,” it responded with a little curtsy. “I can answer any questions, show you around or chat about anything!”
Any question? It must know where the desserts were sold! On second thought, wasn’t there something more important than that? Something that brought G here in the first place.
“I’m looking for a person named Exxy Mah,” she said to the patiently smiling girl. “Is there a citizen or a newcomer with this name?”
“There is!” Yukio answered, gleefully jumping in the air. “Exxy Mah is a famous Ashtapadan, she is an advocate for healthy living. You might have seen her on posters and screens around the city.”
The woman in the picture the assistant conjured up floating in thin air showed an elderly woman. She was looking very fit for her age but it clearly wasn’t the Exxy Gentry knew.
“Hmm... That’s not her...” G said. “There has to be another.”
The girl suddenly looked on the verge of tears. “I’m sorry! It’s the only one in Ashtapada! No other Citizens or Newcomers are registered by this name!”
Did her friend change her name then?
“A friend of mine should’ve arrived here last year under the same name. Can you check where she is now?”
Yukio’s helpful attitude fell apart in an instant. Her posture became stiff like a 3D model she was and a voice void of any emotion informed, “Personal data on people of Ashtapada, including their whereabouts is protected by the privacy laws of the city. Please rephrase your search.”
A blink later, the same cute Yukio was standing in front of G again.
“Can I help with anything else?” she smiled.
Was there a way to ask this dummy in a way that would give her at least a hint about her friend?
“Ok, Yukio,” G attempted. “When did the famous Exxy Mah you mentioned arrive at Ashtapada?”
The girl flickered into a wooden statue again, “Personal data on people...”
“Ok, ok, I got it,” G waved. “Bring back the friendly assistant, you creep me out.”
“Can I help with anything else?” the model went again.
G sighed.
“Is there a place a newcomer can get something sweet, a chocolate or a cake perhaps?”
Yukio gasped indignantly, “Ashtapada has a very strict policy on stimulants! You can’t legally buy any tobacco, alcohol, products with added sugar and other such substances!”
“Such substances!” G hollered, forgetting for a second that she was talking to a lifeless simulation. “Sugar is completely harmless! It’s good for your brains you know! Can I at least ask a Сitizen to get me a snack?”
The girl crossed her arms in defiance.
“You can’t buy any dessert in Ashtapada, whatever your status, the law is for everyone. No refined sugar!”
G thought for a moment, rewinding their conversation in her memory.
“Did you say I can’t buy sugar legally?”— Gentry perked up — “Is there a black market of sweets I can go to?”
“A black market of sweets!”
Yukio stared. It was clearly the first time she had had to deal with this particular word combination. It took her a second or two to process the request.
“There’s no black market of sweets in Ashtapada,” she stated, confidently, at last.
“Ok, pinkhead,” G said, rolling her eyes. “I guess it took all candy floss in Ashtapada to make that hair.”
Annoyed at the assistant, she stomped through the bright neon figure in front of her and into the pedestrian street now full of people.
If there was a place with some glucose in this stuck-up place, she was going to sniff it out.

The hunt wasn’t of much success. After watching a street performance by a group of dancers, listening to an impromptu debate and taking part in a couple of opinion polls, Gentry finally felt that it had been a little too much. Even with the auglasses disengaged, he noise, the people and the boisterous crowds in the streets seemed to pour light and sound directly into her brain in an endless stream. It gave her a headache.
Calling up a map from her wristcomm with an already practised motion, she marked a place nearby that looked much quieter and had a swarm of vending machines, too.
Screw the sugar, she just needed some water now.
The place was indeed quite secluded. The narrow street started on the edge of the bustling zone she just left but didn’t seem to cut into the living district. It wasn’t used by many people, but, to G’s surprise, it seemed to be used by hounds, scurrying back and forth with parcels, trash bags and other loads of lesser identifiability.
Perhaps this little alley was shared by humans and these tireless little helpers over the course of the day? The hounds would make use of it in the night but workers would walk it to leave the residential area when the sun was up? That would explain the line of vending machines along both sides, with their tempting lights that invited to at least take a look.
Sadly, their insides weren’t as tempting as the signs promised.
G walked past the rows of healthy corn-based snacks, rows of dried fruit packets, lines of non-edible stuff like auglasses upgrades and finally ended up in front of a drinks machine. It immediately identified her by scanning the device on her wrist and merrily chimed a hello. G frowned. The few options that were available to a newcomer with an embarrassingly low status like hers immediately got illuminated, hiding more enticing bottles and cans in relative darkness.
No need to rub it in, you soulless beast!
But... there was a can that looked a little sweeter than others. Perhaps it was because of its sickly-pink colour, or a pattern vaguely reminding of chewing gum printed along its rims together with the fact that it was unavailable to pheasants like her, but something told Gentry that it probably was it. A sweet drink she was after.
Or, at least, sweetish.
Against better judgment, she tapped the touchglass to order it.
Nothing. The little screen insisted that she must choose what was available.
She scanned her comm again.
Nothing.
She engaged the little flashlight in her glasses and looked at the can more carefully.
Was it... a little askew?
It definitely was.
Its lower rim was half-hanging in the air, the release mechanism lazily holding it in place.
A good shove...
A good shove would probably drop the can down.
Wouldn’t it?
G looked around and immediately felt a pang of guilt.
She hadn’t done anything, officer!

No people, just a couple of smaller hounds rhythmically clip-clopping along the dim alley.
Should she?
The can looked at her from behind the glass like a captive princess, waiting to be rescued from the agonizing imprisonment. Someone to grab its slender body, deflower it with a skilled motion and drain its sweet nectar in a couple of gulps.
Hang in there, my sweet prize, your saviour is coming!
Another hopefully inconspicuous glance around confirmed there were still no people in the alley.
Gentry stepped to the side and leaned on the machine, estimating its weight.
Not too bad.
She leaned in heavier, feet pushing into the ground, legs and back straining against the cool metal.
A little more, and...
One of the little hounds stopped and looked G over, like a dog that saw a little furry animal that could be torn apart.
What, little buddy? Just taking a break. Is it against the law to lean on vending machines?
Gentry urged the walking robot to move along with a little shove of her foot and immediately felt a little bad when it obediently left without making much fuss.
Why the guilt? It wasn’t like she kicked the little guy!
Still, Gentry felt emboldened by the little victory against the mindless machine.
Surely, the frigid castle that held her sugary princess shouldn’t be of much trouble either.
With a renewed wind in her sails, she stepped back a couple of meters and slammed her whole body into the automate that answered with a promising clanking. Another good push and the visual assessment confirmed that the pink princess was nearly saved. Gentry smashed into the box one last time and the can that she longed for finally jangled down and into the pick-up box.
Gentry’s exhilaration lasted only for a second, however. Before she could retrieve the can she lusted after, something much bigger than a modest dog-sized carrier hound filled her field of vision. A larger four-legged robot that also had something fastened on its back and belly. It stood motionless, its front camera glinting in the uneven light like a bird of prey’s, watching G as she stood up after the impact, unsure what to do.
Was it a police hound or something? Unlikely. There were no marks on it that would identify it as such. What was its problem then?
It’s alright, mate, be on your way now.
G slowly moved her hand towards the pick-up box and almost grabbed the cool can when the hound gently shoved her hand aside with its boxy head.
What’s your problem, pal?
Gentry considered if it was worth it being accused of theft so soon after arriving at Ashtapada. Was it really that bad though? She could always claim it just dropped there by itself.
She pushed the hound’s stump of a head back, covering its camera with her palm, reaching for the can again. This time, as if blinded by her hand, the hound didn’t do anything to stop it.
Ah, easy. These machines were too dumb.
Gentry stepped back, completely sure that the matter was settled, and popped the can open. Its sweet scent filled her nostrils with a seductive promise. But the hound had other plans. Once his camera was uncovered, it seemed to focus on the offending drink again and made to awkwardly sway its head to kick it out of G’s hands.
Excuse me? What about the Laws of Robotics, mate? Rings a bell?
It wasn’t hard to dodge the clumsy assault, but the sheer size of the robot made G uneasy. If it seriously wanted to harm her, it could just stomp on her foot and shatter the bones there like fragile glass.
Better get out of here then.
Finally making a sip of the promising nectar, Gentry moved back towards the light opening of the alley, flanking the beast at a respectful distance before scrunching her face in disgust.
Shit! The drink wasn’t sweet in the slightest! It was all a lie! Vile flavourings! She was cheated! Her lovely princess lured her with a siren’s song and stabbed her right in the heart!
Disillusioned, G gripped the can tighter as if in retaliation and picked up the pace.

The robots usually looked more like docile cows or donkeys, especially when they were loaded with cargo, but this one, now... looked like a real hound. I had a large filling on my 2nd upper right molar about 3 years ago. There was no pain at the time or pain since. About 2 weeks ago I was eating a muffin and felt a hard piece and notice my tooth was broken (or filling fell out) on the tooth.
It was a holiday weekend so I went to a well rated emergency dentist who based on the xray said the tooth could not be saved and absolutely needed extraction.
I spoke to my regular dentist a few days later and shared the same xray and they said they were surprised as it didn't look like it needed to be extracted and xrays taken during a cleaning in March 2024 didn't show any sign of cavity or infection.
I'll be getting another opinion, but in the interim I'm curious to know your thoughts.

I spoke to my regular dentist a few days later and shared the same xray and they said they were surprised as it didn't look like it needed to be extracted and xrays taken during a cleaning in March 2024 didn't show any sign of cavity or infection.
I'll be getting another opinion, but in the interim I'm curious to know your thoughts.

I had dry patches of skin u'd normally see with eczema, but last year I had a terrible flare up. Lots of blood stains on my sheets and clothes, flakes everywhere and a super intense itch all over my body. It looked nothing like my previous dry localized eczema, it now became this diffuse bloody itchy mess. Going to the dermatologist, I hoped for a solution, but instead I was met with corticosteroids and vaseline. This did not help my symptoms.
Being a medical student, I did some research myself. A year later, I found what was troubling me: Urticaria and S. Aureus. These causes don't typically respond to corticosteroids and moisturizing and NEED a separate solution. After doing so, I've gotten soooo much better. I see a lot of people in this sub that have very similar symptoms to mine and could very possible have the same problem as me. Let me explain how you could identify these condition in you and treat them accordingly:
URTICARIA How to Identify:
Urticaria is characterized by a DEEP, intense itch. You will feel like you have to scratch really hard in order to get to the itch, almost like its under your skin. Some people describe the itch to feel like little needles in your skin. The cause of this is a histamine release by mast cells in your skin triggered by things like pressure and heat, although other things are also possible. For me, this meant that I got an intense itch on my ass because I was sitting on it, and an intense itch in my legs at night because I took of my tight pants before bed. The main way you can identify urticaria is by looking at your skin at the place that has this deep itch: can you see any red bumps? These are hives, and are a sure tell-tale sign you got urticaria.
How to Treat:
Luckily, this one is really easy to treat. Since it's caused by a histamine release, you should be taking antihistamines every day. They need time to build up concentration in your blood (they have a very long half life), so take them consistently for a while.
S. AUREUS
If your main problem is bleeding wounds, Staphylococcus Aureus (S. Aureus for short) is your main suspect. S. Aureus is a bacteria found on about 90% of people with eczema. This is because they thrive in an environment with a lot of broken skin. They aggravate the skin by releasing toxins and make your inflammation worse, reduce wound healing by infecting wounds and don't respond well to corticosteroids. Especially if you have wounds with a yellow crust, redness around the wound and excessive bleeding/slow healing times, you likely got S. aureus causing your symptoms.
Now the problem is that you cannot eradicate it from your skin, since its a common bacteria and you'll just get reinfected. The goal is to get a sufficient reduction in the amount of S. Aureus on the skin. The way you reduce it is twofold: -limit the amount of S. Aureus on the skin
-stimulate the amount of other healthy bacteria that can outcompete S. Aureus
Therefore, bleach baths are a mediocre solution, as they do limit S. Aureus but also remove the good bacteria, giving S. Aureus an open field to reinfect the skin again.
Antibiotics are specific and do work well, but they have a huge risk of developing resistant S. Aureus, at which point it won't work anymore. Therefore, they are not a long-term solution either.
A very easy and safe way to reduce S. Aureus is use natural products that have been PROVEN to be effective against S. aureus. They have a very low possibility for developing resistance since they often attack the cell membrane. Apart from this, they also provide an additional anti-inflammatory effect, and some have even been proven to be equally/more effective than hydrocortison in reducing eczema symptoms!
Here is a emulsion I made based on products that reduce S. Aureus and help eczema (you can find them all in this scientific paper: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2667031322000422 ):
Emulsion for S. Aureus:
I use Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and Sunflower Oil (just the normal one from the store) to make the base of about 100 ml. They all have proven effective in reducing S. Aureus while also being extremely effective at moisturizing and reducing inflammation.
I then add small amounts of Rosemary Oil (just 3-5 drops), Chamomile Oil (just 3-5 drops), Argan Oil (10 drops) and Glycerin (10 drops) (Glycerin is not against S. Aureus but is naturally found in human skin and impaired in eczema). These are a bit more expensive, but very effective at low concentrations, hence why I include them.
Now you could use ANY of these products alone and you probably will see an effect, but combining them will basically bundle their strengths since they all have slightly different mechanisms of action.
General recommendation
Finally, since this is a long post anyway, two very easy supplements that you can take orally daily that have proven to be effective against eczema: Evening Primrose Oil and Yakult. Evening primrose oil contains GLA, an omega-6 fatty acid that significantly reduces eczema when taken daily, and Yakult is a probiotic that supports gut health and indirectly improves skin health.
I'd also advice anyone to use Shea buttecoconut oil/sunflower oil instead of the regular vaseline, as they have anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties apart from just moisturizing like vaseline.

Why can’t I have cervical screening unless I am age 25 to 64?
It is very rare to develop cervical cancer under the age of 25. It is also rare to develop cervical cancer over the age of 64, if you have had regular cervical screening.
Cervical screening is not for people with symptoms. If you are worried about symptoms, see your GP for an examination.
Should LGBT+ people with a cervix go for cervical screening?
All women and people with a cervix between age 25 and 64 can go for regular cervical screening, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Most cervical cell changes and cervical cancers are caused by persistent infection with HPV. As HPV can be passed on through any skin-to-skin contact in the genital area, anyone having any kind of sex is at risk of getting it.
Do I need cervical screening after hysterectomy or another treatment?
If you have previously had treatment that affected your cervix for any reason, you may no longer be invited for cervical screening. These treatments include:
Should I go for cervical screening if I am pregnant?
It is usually recommended that you do not have cervical screening while you are or could be pregnant. Pregnancy can make the result of your test harder to interpret.
If you are invited for cervical screening while pregnant, tell your doctor or nurse you are pregnant. You should wait until 3 months after your baby is born to have the test.
If you need follow-up after an abnormal cervical screening result or treatment for cell changes, you may need to have the test while pregnant. Your GP or midwife may ask you to have it at your first antenatal appointment. This test will not affect your pregnancy.
If you are planning a pregnancy

I have HIV. How often should I go for cervical screening?
HIV can make your immune system very weak, meaning it is not as able to get rid of HPV that causes most cervical cancers. If you have HIV, speak with your healthcare team about going for cervical screening every year. Annual cervical screenings are usually taken outside of the NHS National Screening Programme.
Cervical screening aged 65 or over
If you are aged 65 or over, you will no longer be invited for cervical screening (a smear test) unless you are being followed up for cell changes (abnormal cells). You may feel worried or anxious about this, but it is because the benefits of cervical screening start to become less as we get older.
Why do I stop getting invited for cervical screening when I turn 65?
Cervical cancer usually develops very slowly. In fact, it’s estimated that it takes between 10 and 20 years for a high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) infection to develop into cell changes and then into cervical cancer. Because it develops so slowly, it is very unlikely you will develop cervical cancer if you are 65 and have gone for cervical screening when invited.
You won’t get any more invites once you turn 65, if your last cervical screening result was normal. If you had an abnormal result, you will continued to be invited until you have no sign of HPV (HPV negative) or have completed your individual follow up.
What if I have never been for cervical screening?
If you are 65 or older and have never had cervical screening, you are entitled to a test. If you want, you can book an appointment with your GP surgery.

- Sometimes cell changes go back to normal without needing treatment. At the moment, we can’t tell which cell changes will go back to normal, so treating means we can be sure we are preventing them from developing into cervical cancer. This means some people may have unnecessary treatment, which is called overdiagnosis or overtreatment. Using HPV primary screening should help prevent this.

Before that I went for a check up because I had lots of digestion problems and even after finding out I am lactose intolerant I still continued to have trouble, even though it got better. So I went for an other check up and they checked the Immunglobulin-G and also the Immunglobulin-A in my blood but they were fine. But because my mother, my grandmother and my aunt all have celiac disease the doctor thought it would still be worth to investigate further and so they did a gastroscopy.
Turns out my intestinal villi (hope the translation is correct) were slightly shortend. So I took a strict gluten free diet and after some time my bowel problems disappeared. At times I can even eat diary products again but then I still have minor problems.
Last month I was very tired and ate a few spoons of my daugthers nudle soup until I realised it's containing gluten. The first days I had even constipation but nothing else. But after 4-5 days and doing sports, in the evening I felt really sore in my body and very tired. I went to bed and felt cold even though I was wrapped in a thick blanket. I couldn't really eat for days had bad nausea and body aches. After a few days I recovered.
Now just last week again I accidently ate some potato chips with 17% wheet. Again because I was extremely tired but at least I realised my mistake after eating some. I calculated how much I did eat and it was around 3.5g of wheetflour. This time I had no stomach problems or whatsoever. But on day 5 again on the late evening I felt sick after doing sports and having a beer. Again nausea, body aches and really bad brain fog this time on the next day and also I couldnt eat the hole next day which is today.
Sometimes I wonder if I really have this disease because of my negative blood tests and only minor shortage of intestinal villi, but then I remember how much bowel problems I had before. But now again I feel strange about it, because I don't have an instant reaction to it like the people in the posts I did read here, and the first time my hole family had some infection with stomach problems and the second time I had already a cold at the time so it could be coincidence?

But before we do, I need to explain exactly what it means for a company to be "shorted" and as a response, be "short squeezed"
Ill explain in monkey speak first:
Imagine a store has a supply of 100 bananas for sale at 1.00 per banana.
Now, a certain animal (lets call this animal a bear) thinks that the cost per banana will drop from 1.00 dollar to 0.50 cents. They go to the store and they borrow 50 bananas promising to return them. The bear, now in debt to the store, sells those bananas at 1.00 each and collects 50 dollars. Then, the market price for a banana drops to 0.50, they go and buy back the 50 bananas (now at 0.50 cents) paying 25 dollars, then return them back to the person they bought them from. This relieves the bears from their debts and they pocket 25 dollars in the process.
This is the process of shorting a company. They will "Borrow" or "Short" a companies shares when they think it will drop. They sell those shares. The market price drops. Then they buy them back at a low price. Then return them to who they borrowed from and make some serious money.
Typically, this is done to companies who are not looking like they will have very much growth (i.e., GameStop in an increasingly electronic world. Or FFIE in a world where Chinese electric cars are being restricted from sales in the USA for foreign policy reasons.)
Now, a short squeeze happens when another animal (lets say a bull (or maybe an ape would actually be better)) decides that they don't really want the price of bananas to drop because they really really really really like bananas. So the ape goes to the store and buys all the available bananas as well as buying them from the bears. Now, since there's no more available, and bananas are in demand, the price rises up to 1.50, instead of dropping.
Now, the bears are in a dilemma. They need to return the bananas to the person they bought them from. If they don't, the person they borrowed from is going to start charging them late fees for every day that they don't return the bananas.
As you can imagine, the bears would be SUPER angry about this, and fight the apes tooth and nail to try to get them to sell. They will tell everyone (via the media) that the apes are bad. They will publish false information about the cost of bananas. They will try to borrow bananas from other people to make it seem like bananas arent worth anything.
BUT, if the apes hold onto their sweet, juicy bananas, then the bears cant get find any to buy even if they wanted to. So the apes eventually will say "I will give you my bananas back for a premium cost of 10 dollars. Now, the apes who bought all the bananas for 100 dollars will sell them back to get 1000 dollars instead.
Essentially, the apes can make the price whatever they want, because the bears are paying a late fee for every day that they don't return the original bananas. At some point, the late fee will become so expensive that they will pay whatever it takes to get the bananas back.
This is known as a short squeeze. And the apes can potentially make lots of money on those bananas.
Applying this to the market, if FFIE is being shorted, and you all decide you want to squeeze them. Then hold, your shares, the shorter will pay whatever it takes to get those shares returned.

However, it only represents a snapshot in time. Typically, it is a snapshot in time from the day that it is required to be reported. The most recent numbers came on today (5/24).
In general, this number can be manipulated. Think of it like taking a picture. Because that number is based on a snapshot in time, and hedge funds know when the picture will be taken, they can hide the number of shorted shares during the picture, and then once the camera takes its picture, they go back to normal. It is a way that the bears can lie about the fact that they borrowed shares.

Okay again. Super easy to understand. Right? Right? Yeah not so much. I hate the technical terminology used but I guess I can explain.
The short VOLUME is is a more accurate measure of how a particular stock is being shorted. I think of it more like a video tape. It is a collection of all shorting trades made, and is posted every day. It is a lot of information to sort through, but the numbers speak VOLUMES to the efficiency of a possible squeeze (haha volume. Get it?)
In the end, if the VOLUME of shorted shares remains high, then the company is relying on the price of the stock to decline, or trying to hold out when a squeeze is happening in the hopes that the price of the shares drop again. This is the number we care about. This number is COMPREHENSIVE of all shorted stocks (including off-exchange/darkpool numbers and retail shorts)

Lets start where the Apes have purchased all the bananas and we think the bears have shorted banana sales.
So, lets imagine that the laws require that the Bears post publicly exactly how many bananas they borrowed from the lender. They are required to post this information every 2 weeks. They know they have to post soon. Therefore, to scare the apes into thinking they aren't actually squeezing, they take their picture of their borrowed bananas and post it. In the picture (since they had time to organize their efforts) it shows that they, in fact, didn't borrow any bananas. Now the apes would be panicked right? They have all these bananas for no reason. But a SMART ape would understand that they could use that photo to manipulate us. They obviously just quickly hid the fact that they borrowed bananas for the picture. The bears used the required "short interest picture" to scare you all into thinking your bananas were worthless, and encourage you to sell them.
Instead, its better to look at the security footage of the bears hiding their borrowed banana receipts. We'd be able to catch them red handed! Thus, we look at the "short volume" of bananas. The problem is, each bear individually posts their volume every day, and doesn't compile it in one clear video for us. Why would they? The more we know, the more we can charge for our bananas.
Plus, there are also dozens (if not hundreds) of bears all posting, accurate, but misleading, numbers. They make a united effort to throw as many confusing, and non-relevant videos into the mix to divert our attention.
This is EXACTLY what you have seen posted all week. Various people posting different volume numbers. And while each volume number they posted is accurate, they are only a partial truth.

Well, with the report of the "snapshot" that is released every 2 weeks, we also get another bit of information. The total number of exchanged shorts "off exchange."
Are you still following? This is where it gets even more confusing.
With the report, FINTEL also publishes a number known as the "off exchange short volume"

This number is the most accurate number to describe how many shares of a stock are currently being shorted. As we learned above, the "short interest" isn't reliable as the bears can hide their numbers during the picture.
However, at some point, some smart person (probably being super angry at how the bears could lie using short interest pictures) made a law that requires them disclose the number of currently exchanged "off market/dark pool" exchanges that were made.
An off market exchange is what happens when a bear decides to trade with another bear out of the public eye.
Why would they do this?
Back to our "ape speak" example
Okay so the bears know that they have their upcoming (2-week) picture that gets released. They want to make it seem like they don't have any owed bananas.
What do they do? How can they just lie for a picture?
The answer is in off market exchanges. You see, the bears found out that they can trade their shorts WITH EACHOTHER.
So for the picture, Mr. Black bear gives all his receipts to the polar bear. Then, when the Mr. Polar bear takes his photo, he gives them to Mr. Black bear (since he already took his photo).
These off market exchanges tend to SKYROCKET during a few times. One of which, is when hedge funds try to hide how much of an investment they have in their shorted shares.
So, over the next few days, we will see many people posting "OMG THEY ARENT EVEN SHORTING BECAUSE THE SHORT INTEREST IS DOWN FROM LAST POST"
Well, of course its lower. The last posted information, the hedge funds didn't know they would be squeezed. Therefore, they didn't feel the need to hide the short interest. Now, they need to hide it to scare you. So they create fear by lowering that number. But when that short interest number goes down, and off exchange goes up, it means they are still holding shorts, but just covering it up for their short interest reports.
Okay, so lets look at these numbers and see what it means for squeezers.
LONG STORY SHORT, THEY HAVE NOT NOT RETURNED THEIR SHORTS. They are simply trying to manipulate us into believing that they did.
In fact, they went from 36 million shorts UP to 64 million shorts (likely a bit less as this number includes transfers of shorts both ways).
But still, they have hope. Let's strip it away from them and make it KNOWN that they are manipulating. Time to HOLD and TIME TO BUY.
When you hold/buy shares, then the second requirement and third requirement for the squeeze are in our hands entirely.

Ill explain in monkey speak first:
Imagine a store has a supply of 100 bananas for sale at 1.00 per banana.
Now, a certain animal (lets call this animal a bear) thinks that the cost per banana will drop from 1.00 dollar to 0.50 cents. They go to the store and they borrow 50 bananas promising to return them. The bear, now in debt to the store, sells those bananas at 1.00 each and collects 50 dollars. Then, the market price for a banana drops to 0.50, they go and buy back the 50 bananas (now at 0.50 cents) paying 25 dollars, then return them back to the person they bought them from. This relieves the bears from their debts and they pocket 25 dollars in the process.
This is the process of shorting a company. They will "Borrow" or "Short" a companies shares when they think it will drop. They sell those shares. The market price drops. Then they buy them back at a low price. Then return them to who they borrowed from and make some serious money.
Typically, this is done to companies who are not looking like they will have very much growth (i.e., GameStop in an increasingly electronic world. Or FFIE in a world where Chinese electric cars are being restricted from sales in the USA for foreign policy reasons.)
Now, a short squeeze happens when another animal (lets say a bull (or maybe an ape would actually be better)) decides that they don't really want the price of bananas to drop because they really really really really like bananas. So the ape goes to the store and buys all the available bananas as well as buying them from the bears. Now, since there's no more available, and bananas are in demand, the price rises up to 1.50, instead of dropping.
Now, the bears are in a dilemma. They need to return the bananas to the person they bought them from. If they don't, the person they borrowed from is going to start charging them late fees for every day that they don't return the bananas.
As you can imagine, the bears would be SUPER angry about this, and fight the apes tooth and nail to try to get them to sell. They will tell everyone (via the media) that the apes are bad. They will publish false information about the cost of bananas. They will try to borrow bananas from other people to make it seem like bananas arent worth anything.
BUT, if the apes hold onto their sweet, juicy bananas, then the bears cant get find any to buy even if they wanted to. So the apes eventually will say "I will give you my bananas back for a premium cost of 10 dollars. Now, the apes who bought all the bananas for 100 dollars will sell them back to get 1000 dollars instead.
Essentially, the apes can make the price whatever they want, because the bears are paying a late fee for every day that they don't return the original bananas. At some point, the late fee will become so expensive that they will pay whatever it takes to get the bananas back.
This is known as a short squeeze. And the apes can potentially make lots of money on those bananas.
Applying this to the market, if FFIE is being shorted, and you all decide you want to squeeze them. Then hold, your shares, the shorter will pay whatever it takes to get those shares returned.

However, it only represents a snapshot in time. Typically, it is a snapshot in time from the day that it is required to be reported. The most recent numbers came on today (5/24).
In general, this number can be manipulated. Think of it like taking a picture. Because that number is based on a snapshot in time, and hedge funds know when the picture will be taken, they can hide the number of shorted shares during the picture, and then once the camera takes its picture, they go back to normal. It is a way that the bears can lie about the fact that they borrowed shares.

Okay again. Super easy to understand. Right? Right? Yeah not so much. I hate the technical terminology used but I guess I can explain.
The short VOLUME is is a more accurate measure of how a particular stock is being shorted. I think of it more like a video tape. It is a collection of all shorting trades made, and is posted every day. It is a lot of information to sort through, but the numbers speak VOLUMES to the efficiency of a possible squeeze (haha volume. Get it?)
In the end, if the VOLUME of shorted shares remains high, then the company is relying on the price of the stock to decline, or trying to hold out when a squeeze is happening in the hopes that the price of the shares drop again. This is the number we care about. This number is COMPREHENSIVE of all shorted stocks (including off-exchange/darkpool numbers and retail shorts)

Lets start where the Apes have purchased all the bananas and we think the bears have shorted banana sales.
So, lets imagine that the laws require that the Bears post publicly exactly how many bananas they borrowed from the lender. They are required to post this information every 2 weeks. They know they have to post soon. Therefore, to scare the apes into thinking they aren't actually squeezing, they take their picture of their borrowed bananas and post it. In the picture (since they had time to organize their efforts) it shows that they, in fact, didn't borrow any bananas. Now the apes would be panicked right? They have all these bananas for no reason. But a SMART ape would understand that they could use that photo to manipulate us. They obviously just quickly hid the fact that they borrowed bananas for the picture. The bears used the required "short interest picture" to scare you all into thinking your bananas were worthless, and encourage you to sell them.
Instead, its better to look at the security footage of the bears hiding their borrowed banana receipts. We'd be able to catch them red handed! Thus, we look at the "short volume" of bananas. The problem is, each bear individually posts their volume every day, and doesn't compile it in one clear video for us. Why would they? The more we know, the more we can charge for our bananas.
Plus, there are also dozens (if not hundreds) of bears all posting, accurate, but misleading, numbers. They make a united effort to throw as many confusing, and non-relevant videos into the mix to divert our attention.

Well, with the report of the "snapshot" that is released every 2 weeks, we also get another bit of information. The total number of exchanged shorts "off exchange."
Are you still following? This is where it gets even more confusing.
With the report, FINTEL also publishes a number known as the "off exchange short volume"

This number is the most accurate number to describe how many shares of a stock are currently being shorted. As we learned above, the "short interest" isn't reliable as the bears can hide their numbers during the picture.
However, at some point, some smart person (probably being super angry at how the bears could lie using short interest pictures) made a law that requires them disclose the number of currently exchanged "off market/dark pool" exchanges that were made.
An off market exchange is what happens when a bear decides to trade with another bear out of the public eye.
Why would they do this?
Back to our "ape speak" example
Okay so the bears know that they have their upcoming (2-week) picture that gets released. They want to make it seem like they don't have any owed bananas.
What do they do? How can they just lie for a picture?
The answer is in off market exchanges. You see, the bears found out that they can trade their shorts WITH EACHOTHER.
So for the picture, Mr. Black bear gives all his receipts to the polar bear. Then, when the Mr. Polar bear takes his photo, he gives them to Mr. Black bear (since he already took his photo).
These off market exchanges tend to SKYROCKET during a few times. One of which, is when hedge funds try to hide how much of an investment they have in their shorted shares.
So, over the next few days, we will see many people posting "OMG THEY ARENT EVEN SHORTING BECAUSE THE SHORT INTEREST IS DOWN FROM LAST POST"
Well, of course its lower. The last posted information, the hedge funds didn't know they would be squeezed. Therefore, they didn't feel the need to hide the short interest. Now, they need to hide it to scare you. So they create fear by lowering that number. But when that short interest number goes down, and off exchange goes up, it means they are still holding shorts, but just covering it up for their short interest reports.
Okay, so lets look at these numbers and see what it means for squeezers.
LONG STORY SHORT, THEY HAVE NOT NOT RETURNED THEIR SHORTS. They are simply trying to manipulate us into believing that they did.
In fact, they went from 36 million shorts UP to 64 million shorts (likely a bit less as this number includes transfers of shorts both ways).
But still, they have hope. Let's strip it away from them and make it KNOWN that they are manipulating. Time to HOLD and TIME TO BUY.
When you hold/buy shares, then the second requirement and third requirement for the squeeze are in our hands entirely.

I'm not very concerned about most drugs but the -mabs (Belumimab, Anifrolumab) I want to be very sure about. I did take Benlysta for a little while and I ended up needing a root canal from an infection in my tooth, I also got painful cystic acne.
My doctor has suggested trying a -mab again but I'm not sure if I'm bad enough. Currently, I have no joint pain or swelling - totally pain free on that front. I do however have very moderate to severe dry eyes, mild excema, infrequent "silent migranes" and a mystery symptom that is causing my stomach to spasm but goes away when I take prednisone (I suspect its some kind of gastritis).
I want to slow the progression of my disease and keep my dry eyes from getting worse but it's just one symptom, and the only one I'm truly worried about. The other symptoms are mild and manageable. My doctor has suggested trying a -mab again but I'm not sure if I'm bad enough. Currently, I have no joint pain or swelling - totally pain free on that front. I do however have very moderate to severe dry eyes, mild excema, infrequent "silent migranes" and a mystery symptom that is causing my stomach to spasm but goes away when I take prednisone (I suspect its some kind of gastritis).
I want to slow the progression of my disease and keep my dry eyes from getting worse but it's just one symptom, and the only one I'm truly worried about. The other symptoms are mild and manageable. But before we do, I need to explain exactly what it means for a company to be "shorted" and as a response, be "short squeezed"
Ill explain in monkey speak first:
Imagine a store has a supply of 100 bananas for sale at 1.00 per banana.
Now, a certain animal (lets call this animal a bear) thinks that the cost per banana will drop from 1.00 dollar to 0.50 cents. They go to the store and they borrow 50 bananas promising to return them. The bear, now in debt to the store, sells those bananas at 1.00 each and collects 50 dollars. Then, the market price for a banana drops to 0.50, they go and buy back the 50 bananas (now at 0.50 cents) paying 25 dollars, then return them back to the person they bought them from. This relieves the bears from their debts and they pocket 25 dollars in the process.
This is the process of shorting a company. They will "Borrow" or "Short" a companies shares when they think it will drop. They sell those shares. The market price drops. Then they buy them back at a low price. Then return them to who they borrowed from and make some serious money.
Typically, this is done to companies who are not looking like they will have very much growth (i.e., GameStop in an increasingly electronic world. Or FFIE in a world where Chinese electric cars are being restricted from sales in the USA for foreign policy reasons.)
Now, a short squeeze happens when another animal (lets say a bull (or maybe an ape would actually be better)) decides that they don't really want the price of bananas to drop because they really really really really like bananas. So the ape goes to the store and buys all the available bananas as well as buying them from the bears. Essentially, the apes can make the price whatever they want, because the bears are paying a late fee for every day that they don't return the original bananas. At some point, the late fee will become so expensive that they will pay whatever it takes to get the bananas back.
This is known as a short squeeze. And the apes can potentially make lots of money on those bananas.

The short Interest is the number of shares shorted by all of the different hedge funds. It is a comprehensive list of all the numbers of the total number of short shares.
However, it only represents a snapshot in time. Typically, it is a snapshot in time from the day that it is required to be reported. The most recent numbers came on today (5/24).
In general, this number can be manipulated. Think of it like taking a picture. Because that number is based on a snapshot in time, and hedge funds know when the picture will be taken, they can hide the number of shorted shares during the picture, and then once the camera takes its picture, they go back to normal. It is a way that the bears can lie about the fact that they borrowed shares.

Okay again. Super easy to understand. Right? Right? Yeah not so much. I hate the technical terminology used but I guess I can explain.
The short VOLUME is is a more accurate measure of how a particular stock is being shorted. I think of it more like a video tape. It is a collection of all shorting trades made, and is posted every day. It is a lot of information to sort through, but the numbers speak VOLUMES to the efficiency of a possible squeeze (haha volume. Get it?)
In the end, if the VOLUME of shorted shares remains high, then the company is relying on the price of the stock to decline, or trying to hold out when a squeeze is happening in the hopes that the price of the shares drop again. This is the number we care about. This number is COMPREHENSIVE of all shorted stocks (including off-exchange/darkpool numbers and retail shorts)

Lets start where the Apes have purchased all the bananas and we think the bears have shorted banana sales.
So, lets imagine that the laws require that the Bears post publicly exactly how many bananas they borrowed from the lender. They are required to post this information every 2 weeks. They know they have to post soon. Therefore, to scare the apes into thinking they aren't actually squeezing, they take their picture of their borrowed bananas and post it. In the picture (since they had time to organize their efforts) it shows that they, in fact, didn't borrow any bananas. Now the apes would be panicked right? They have all these bananas for no reason. But a SMART ape would understand that they could use that photo to manipulate us. They obviously just quickly hid the fact that they borrowed bananas for the picture. The bears used the required "short interest picture" to scare you all into thinking your bananas were worthless, and encourage you to sell them.
Instead, its better to look at the security footage of the bears hiding their borrowed banana receipts. We'd be able to catch them red handed! Thus, we look at the "short volume" of bananas. The problem is, each bear individually posts their volume every day, and doesn't compile it in one clear video for us. Why would they? The more we know, the more we can charge for our bananas.
Plus, there are also dozens (if not hundreds) of bears all posting, accurate, but misleading, numbers. They make a united effort to throw as many confusing, and non-relevant videos into the mix to divert our attention.

Are you still following? This is where it gets even more confusing.
With the report, FINTEL also publishes a number known as the "off exchange short volume"

This number is the most accurate number to describe how many shares of a stock are currently being shorted. As we learned above, the "short interest" isn't reliable as the bears can hide their numbers during the picture.
However, at some point, some smart person (probably being super angry at how the bears could lie using short interest pictures) made a law that requires them disclose the number of currently exchanged "off market/dark pool" exchanges that were made.
An off market exchange is what happens when a bear decides to trade with another bear out of the public eye.
Why would they do this?
Back to our "ape speak" example
Okay so the bears know that they have their upcoming (2-week) picture that gets released. They want to make it seem like they don't have any owed bananas.
What do they do? How can they just lie for a picture?
The answer is in off market exchanges. You see, the bears found out that they can trade their shorts WITH EACHOTHER.
So for the picture, Mr. Black bear gives all his receipts to the polar bear. Then, when the Mr. Polar bear takes his photo, he gives them to Mr. Black bear (since he already took his photo).
These off market exchanges tend to SKYROCKET during a few times. One of which, is when hedge funds try to hide how much of an investment they have in their shorted shares.
So, over the next few days, we will see many people posting "OMG THEY ARENT EVEN SHORTING BECAUSE THE SHORT INTEREST IS DOWN FROM LAST POST"
Well, of course its lower. The last posted information, the hedge funds didn't know they would be squeezed. Therefore, they didn't feel the need to hide the short interest. Now, they need to hide it to scare you. So they create fear by lowering that number. But when that short interest number goes down, and off exchange goes up, it means they are still holding shorts, but just covering it up for their short interest reports.
Okay, so lets look at these numbers and see what it means for squeezers.
LONG STORY SHORT, THEY HAVE NOT NOT RETURNED THEIR SHORTS. They are simply trying to manipulate us into believing that they did.
In fact, they went from 36 million shorts UP to 64 million shorts (likely a bit less as this number includes transfers of shorts both ways).
But still, they have hope. Let's strip it away from them and make it KNOWN that they are manipulating. Time to HOLD and TIME TO BUY.
When you hold/buy shares, then the second requirement and third requirement for the squeeze are in our hands entirely.

i resisted starting doxy even though my derm really wanted me to start because i’ve taken it for bacterial infections and it MESSED my stomach up. i finally caved because i developed perioral dermatitis and the only cure is antibiotics. he put me on 120mg, 2x/day, which is a higher dose than i’ve ever taken. i’m about a week in and while my skin looks better than it has in a year, i have a yeast infection from HELL. i take probiotics daily already and they’re not enough. i tried boric acid. i hate monistat but its looking like my only option now.
my question is, does anyone know if i can drop the antibiotic dosage down to 120mg/day (60mg, 2x/day) or will it stop working on my skin?? the scrip is a full month and i don’t think i can stand being itchy for that long….

While the general public’s risk remains low, those at higher risk include individuals with routine or frequent contact with potentially infected birds, livestock, other animals or contaminated animal products and environments (e.g., farmers, livestock workers, animal handlers, employees of milk and meat processing facilities, milk or carcass transport drivers, and veterinarians).
Human infections with H5N1 can occur when the virus enters the eyes, nose, or mouth, or is inhaled. This can happen through airborne droplets, small aerosol particles, or dust that settles on mucous membranes. Infection can also occur if a person touches a contaminated surface and then touches their mouth, eyes, or nose. Exposed individuals should monitor for symptoms within 10 days, including fever (100°F [37.8°C] or higher), chills, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing/shortness of breath, eye tearing, redness, or irritation, headaches, runny or stuffy nose, muscle aches, and diarrhea.
