2. Snake: his distrust of others and his own decisions. Also can additionally bring up how he will strike first in order not to feel threatened or pain. Also can symbolize a possible future shedding of his old skin.
3. Landscape: he likes to take nature pictures so this one was prob his first or one that he got sober, BUT could symbolize the mountains he needs to claim to conquer his past.
4. Roses/thorns: he’s guarded and prickly. He will draw blood before someone will draw blood from him. Rose can symbolize how ge can open up to the right person and can grow into a beautiful thing.
5. Moth: this was brought up if you go to the suite with him. He got this after finding out his kind distance partner cheating on him after he did this whole grand gesture of driving 16 hours to see them.
6. Geometric prawn or ice/glass prawn: this can have 3 meanings for Ryder. One meaning is that a prawn can be a “fool”, how he felt after pouring so much into a relationship and being fooled by his partner. Especially when he found out they had twins 6 months after the official breakup and they were long distance before that. Second meaning for a geometric prawn is the fact he has a shell to protect himself(one chapter he said something along the line of being a “shadow of a shell”.) He bring sup multiple times how he is used to getting what he wants and only givens into meaningless flings-using armor or a shield to protect himself from anyone getting in to meeting the vulnerable real Ryder. Third is that prawns can be a meaning of strength and if this prawn was a glass or ice, it means his strength can be easily broken.
7. Scorpion: once again he is always in the defensive and will strike a venomous blows to protect himself. Not only that, it also calls back to wearing a thick armor to protect himself as well. His attitude of preemptively striking is shown through out the game. 8 crow/raven: Ryder’s past relationship really impacted his ability to love and live. To him all relationships are dead to him. He lives for short term hook ups without any future for love. But, they can symbolize bad fortune or rebirth-which is the two outcomes for him in this game. Either a “bad outcome” of being kicked out for his behavior-killing any potencial relationships outside the villa, or rebirth, finding confidence and a new outlook with MC. Learning to trust, be vulnerable, and takes responsibility for his previous actions.

The best way to show his rebirth (and to tie this to the snake tattoo-shedding his old skin) is if MC and him are together and he is possibly being eliminated-normally the old Ryder would’ve went into self preservation mode, made snide comments, huffed and puffed, etc but instead he accepts that he made mistakes and he knows there are consequences for them-and he’s secure in his and Mc’s relationship that he is willing to be sent home and says that even if sent one he’d find his way to MC.

1. Eye and hibiscus: eye usually means protection. Hibiscus usually means happiness and good luck. Knowing Ryder he more than likely got this in a time period he was probably happy, where all he wanted to protect was his happiness and luck. Yet, even after being cheated on, that was his goal-even when he used toxic measures to protect it. His end game was always to protect his well being-unless MC breaks through his shells and he want to protect MC’s well being.

I think this excerpt really shows that Rath did some research into some common things that happen off the books in the army.
Some other examples of this aside from this excerpt are the characters of glave and Selvar Ghent. in my country’s army, we do have characters like ghent especially when we are posted into foreign countries where you didn’t know the local language most times and the good shops that might serve foreign soldiers .I know I bought dental floss and a small listerine mouthwash for about $10 a few days into the forward base exercise to get rid of the sandy taste in my mouth after sleeping out in the field. Glaves story was also relatable as it shows the enthusiasm of every recruit when they first join up or enlist
All in all while the novel wasn’t perfect (might make a post on this to try to get some insights). I thought it was well written and as somebody who used to serve in the army I found the book relatable and can see how Rath tries to make the story as close to real life minus the Sci-fi and chaos parts to real life army parallels to make it more interesting and more human.

So I just did a bit of solo sloping. I sailed to an island near port marrik that has the ashen lord world event up. The storm was headed for the port and I had just offloaded loot so I b lined right for that island to outrun the storm. I figured what the heck, I’m here, let’s see if I can solo it. I did. With a lot of kiting and a pistol! When he died, he rained more loot than I’d ever seen from any event we’ve done, skulls and ashes chests strewn all over the island! I collected it all to one beach. Then I saw a mermaid in the water. He sunk my ship while I fought him. I found a harpoon dingy and loaded up all my loot. Oh yeah, one of the chests he dropped was a RAGE CHEST!!! So I could see port merrik from this island and thought, ok I’m going for it….in a DINGY. Well. The storm was still raging over and around that port, so at least I knew it was safe from other players. I rowed my lil heart out through the storm. Two notes. 1. The storm keeps the rage chest wet 😅 and 2. A storm doesn’t sink a dingy! I learned good things today. I rowed and rowed and some of the waves put me under water but I made it and sold everything!!!!! What an amazing solo adventure!!!!

This is the first time I write here. First of all, I don't speak English (but I'm learning), so everything I'll tell you is translated from a page, so I hope the translation doesn't change too much (sorry if it does).
I graduated in early March, and while waiting to find out if I was accepted to university or not, I killed time on the internet, or reading something. One day in April, I saw the statuses of my friends, including that of my friend (now ex-friend) Elena, where she uploaded a photo at the beach, which got me thinking that I would also like to go out to the beach or some other place, because until that moment I hadn't gone anywhere.
Days later, my mom woke me up early asking if I wanted to accompany her to the beach, to which I agreed, and while we were on the way, I sent a message to Elena, telling her that I had seen her statuses and that it made me sad because I also wanted to go out, and now I was going to do it, as if I had manifested it. I thought she would laugh, because that's why I sent her the message. She saw the message, but didn't reply, and I didn't pay much attention to it, why should I?
Months went by without us talking, I didn't pay much attention either, because I'm not someone who spends all day sending messages to my friends. But recently was Elena's birthday, and I didn't find out until she posted photos of her small gathering with our group of friends.
That took me by surprise, and to be honest, it made me very sad.
I asked my friend who went to the party about Elena's birthday, and he asked me why I didn't go, and I replied that I wasn't invited. I asked if he knew anything, and he said no.
He told me to ask her why she didn't invite me.
I sent a message to Elena wishing her a happy birthday, thinking that when she read it she would say something about why she didn't invite me, but instead she just replied thanking me for my congratulations.
My friend insisted that I should ask her, but to be honest, I felt embarrassed to ask her because I thought she would see me as resentful, so instead I downloaded a meme and edited it as an indirect message and put it in my status for Elena to see (all as a joke), in fact, I was laughing along with my friend about it.
I was sad because I didn't understand why she didn't invite me, not so much because I didn't go to her birthday, I'm not resentful about that, what made me sad is that we were supposed to be friends and she didn't consider me. I spent a long time wondering what I had done wrong for her to be angry with me, but nothing came to mind.
The whole night passed and she never replied.
I begged my friend to ask her, but he said I had to do it, but I still felt embarrassed to write to her, so I downloaded more memes, edited them, and put them in my status (they didn't have her name, just things like what represents me in the background and the others representing those who have fun. I didn't see anything wrong with it, they were just that, memes of what I found funny about my situation).
After a while, before my first class started, she replied to me.
She said she didn't invite me because she didn't like what I had written to her last time. I asked her confused about what thing, and she replied about how I had overlooked many things, and that she tried to be a good friend and that she hadn't even treated me badly. I asked her again about which message, and she replied with the message I had sent her about how I also wanted to go to the beach.
I was shocked.
She wrote to me that she didn't like that message, that even though it wasn't her way of being, she behaved like that because of how I had behaved with her, that she was going to invite me to the party but she had discussed it with other people and they also didn't like my attitude.
I was confused, I replied saying that in the message I meant that I also wanted to go out for a walk because I hadn't done it, and that I had no intention of offending her.
She replied saying that my message was out of place and that along with other things that had happened, that's what had made her angry.
She brought up a problem we had in the past to which I had already apologized and never did anything to make her feel bad again.
The problem was this:
Years ago I had a friend, let's call him Alex, he and I became friends in my second year of school through a mutual friend (now ex-friend). Elena came in when we were in virtual classes, and we became friends when we all returned to face-to-face classes.
It was by chance that we started talking because it turned out that Alex and Elena were dating. Great, I didn't see anything wrong with that.
But as time went by, she started having a lot of problems with Alex, and she always vented to me.
It got to the point where I could never say something that made me happy, or that made me sad because she always changed the conversation and made it about something that made her happy, or sad, which I always listened to.
One day, tired of her never listening to me and of her always making the conversation all about her, I told her that if Alex was so bad to her then she should break up with him (I didn't say it impulsively, it was something we had been talking about for a long time, and I didn't tell her to break up with him until she hinted at it first), but Alex found out that I had said that so he ended his friendship with me.
I was very sad because I value my friends a lot.
She took his side and they continued to be boyfriend and girlfriend.
Many things happened, that and including my recent breakup of friendship with another friend, which ended up making me angry.
I admit that I wasn't the best friend to her during that time, I was angry, I was indifferent, and because of her attitude of "I didn't do anything wrong" every time the topic came up, I would talk about how she had treated me and her attitude (I didn't start the conversation).
At that time, I couldn't even recognize myself, I was never mean to her, but I was going through depression (I had just ended a very toxic and manipulative friendship, and along with that, other personal problems), so I wasn't very friendly with her, to say the least (I never yelled at her or insulted her, it's not like I humiliated her in public or anything like that, to be honest, the only thing I did was to say that she had been mean to me), why didn't she make an effort to support me when I supported her? Aren't friends supposed to do that?
On Christmas, she invited all the girls from our group of friends, including me, and I realized that I didn't want to be angry with her anymore.
So I asked her for my most sincere forgiveness, which she accepted.
After that, I was kinder and more friendly, as I really am, but the point is that I thought we had solved everything.
I invited her to all the gatherings we had at my house, and we always had fun. Even after our graduation, we kept texting each other.
Everything was fine until the issue with the message about going to the beach.
She got angry and threw everything back at me.
She wrote to me that she thought I was jealous because Alex was with her, that it seemed like I liked her. To which I made a confused face.
What was she talking about? Nothing of the sort, I just saw her as a friend, let alone being jealous.
She talked about her religion and about God, about forgiveness, and turning the other cheek to those who are mean to us.
She told me all this so that I wouldn't do it again with my friends and so that I would know how to value them.
Damn. I value my friends a lot because I'm someone who has had a lot of bad luck when it comes to making friends, so I value those who have been good to me.
She said she would have liked our friendship to last longer, but unfortunately it couldn't, and she told me to take care of myself and to do well.
I replied that I understood and that I was sorry, that it was never my intention to hurt her. But since she reminded me of what had happened, I reminded her of how much she had hurt me first.
She hurt me a lot, I only responded in a bad way because of how she treated me, and I apologized for that.
To which she replied that this time it wasn't about me, and that what had happened she had already apologized for (not that I remember).
At that moment my class was about to start so I didn't reply quickly, I spent all four hours of classes that day distracted because of what she had told me.
All of that was in the past, our friendship had returned, it never crossed my mind that she was angry about that.
And all because I wrote to her that I would like to go to the beach too. I just wanted her to laugh about it because it was so silly, and she interpreted it so differently, as if I had written an insult between the lines or something like that.
I wrote to my friend (the one I asked about the birthday party that she didn't invite me to) and asked him friend to friend if I had done something wrong, and he replied that he didn't see the point of why she was upset, and that if Elena didn't want to reason with me then I should distance myself.
I apologized for involving him.
I asked another friend (who doesn't know Elena, but I was honest and told him what had happened with her) and he said that there are friendships that are good and others that are bad, and that the people who are bad should be told to go to hell.
So I replied to Elena one last time.
I explained that I didn't want to fight, much less make her feel bad. I didn't understand why she was treating me like this when I thought we had solved everything.
I defended her as much as I could from the people who tried to hurt her, I was always there when she needed me, and I did everything to integrate her into our group of friends.
She always justified her actions with God, and she firmly believed that he would solve all her problems, which made me angry but I never told her, I believe in God, I have the belief that he helps you, but you have to help yourself too.
I wished her a good life full of happiness, but that I didn't want to see her again.
She continued to tell me, throwing in my face why her friendships lasted longer than mine.
She told me it wasn't true that when we talked everything was about her (it was), and she justified herself by saying that when she talked about herself they made her shut up, whereas with me, when I talked about something they never shut me up (I get very excited when I talk so I tend to talk a lot), but that didn't mean I didn't listen when others spoke, because I always paid attention to them.
She emphasized that when past friends hurt her she never stayed stuck, and that you don't die for a friendship (she knew perfectly well what happened with my old friend).
She said she didn't hold a grudge against me and that what I did didn't affect her. She wished me well, and that was it.
After that, I blocked her from everywhere.
I'm still confused.
Did I really have the blame?
She was the one who started it all.
I didn't tell you in more detail what happened between us, but that was a summary of what happened.
She's right about one thing, I'll never understand why all my friendships end badly. My only fault is being too complacent, letting myself be manipulated, and not seeing how bad they were with me until our friendship ended.
I promised myself that I wouldn't let myself be trampled again, so I got defensive when Elena started treating me the way she did.
I had just come out of a friendship that was very bad for me and that literally had me on the verge of death. For the first time I tried to defend myself, all this happened.
I was depressed for months, asking myself if I was to blame for why the people I called "best friend" ended up hurting me worse and worse.
And even though Elena wasn't someone I would consider my best friend, she was someone I loved and appreciated a lot, she hurt me a lot when she put me aside. I faithfully believed that we had solved our problems, why is she coming at me with this now?
Really. Am I the bad one?

Every now and then I'll see someone say that All Might not dying in the final arc was Horikoshi trying to subvert expectations but I disagree. And I don't mean in the "Oh, I'm so smart. I knew he wouldn't do it." sort of way.
Killing off the mentor character is a common trope in a lot of media. Certainly. But not doing that doesn't inherently mean that the story is subverting expectations, since no matter how common or uncommon a trope or plot point may be it is the story itself that sets what the audience is to expect. For example, if any given series suddenly kills off a character who had more story left to tell, that's typically a subversion of expectations. But if Game of Thrones does it, that's not a subversion of expectations because that series set the expectation very early on that anyone could die. Even if it's extremely uncommon to kill off characters like that in most other series, GOT killing off characters like that isn't a subversion of our expectations, it is meeting the expectations it has set for us.
All Might not dying in the battle of Kamino Ward? THAT was a subversion of expectations. The series up until that point had been pushing the idea that he didn't have much time left, that eventually Midoriya might be left all on his own, and things were building up to the reveal of his old archenemy, All For One, with the confrontation finally coming in Kamino Ward. We the audience were expecting him to die in that battle because the story had led us to believe that it was going to happen. Compare that to, say, Jiraiya from Naruto. Killing off the mentor was just a common trope back when that series was coming out but we still weren't exactly terrified that Jiraiya was going to die during the search for Tsunade or most of the arcs prior to Pain's because the story had given us no reason to believe it'd do such a thing. So having All Might live on after Kamino Ward, only now powerless and unable to save the day on his own anymore, was a subversion of what we were expecting.
But by contrast, him being saved and surviving in the final arc of MHA isn't a subversion of expectations, because that was a possibility the story had been pushing for us to expect.
Ever since Kamino Ward the story has been addressing how useless All Might felt not being able to save everyone and solve everything on his own like he used to, how he potentially "missed his chance to die", and of course Nighteye's prediction about his death. The idea is that instead of going out in a blaze of glory with his legend intact if he'd died in Kamino Ward, if he were to die now it would be unspeakably gruesome and a death without point, just tragedy. Combine that with All Might's vow to keep living for Midoriya's sake, his and Midoriya's promise to keep fighting fate, and All Might doing whatever he can to support those inspired by him even in spite of his powerless state, and the series is essentially building up to a fork in the road in the lead up to All Might and AFO's final confrontation in the final arc.
We're not specifically expecting All Might to die like we were for Kamino Ward, nor are we specifically expecting him to live. Rather we are waiting to see which path the story will go down because it has established BOTH as two very reasonable expectations for us to have as to the outcome of the confrontation. All Might lives and it's a triumph, because the characters managed to beat back fate, or All Might dies and it's a tragedy, because their actions still weren't enough to beat fate. And given the general tone and themes of the series the former was obviously more likely, but even if the latter had occurred it wouldn't have been a subversion of our expectations because the story had been telling us to expect that as a potential outcome.
A subversion would have been more along the lines of something like AFO successfully killing All Might but in the process of doing so his Rewind Quirk affects All Might too and not only brings him back to life but also restores his body to his pre-injured state. All Might dies AND lives, which is not something we would have been expecting, regardless of how the series' internal logic could technically have it make sense.
For another comparison, let's look at Chainsaw Man. MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD.
Since basically her introduction the story heavily implies that, no matter how nice she may act towards Denji, Makima is very dangerous and not to be trusted. But even so,>! the complete slaughter she orchestrated of everyone Denji had come to care about was a huge subversion of expectations, since the story had been leading us to believe that we would have more time with those other characters, at least until their inevitable confrontation with the Gun Devil, who we likewise thought was going to be the big boss but turns out to already be basically another tool in Makima's arsenal!<.
Again, when Game of Thrones kills off significant characters, that's not a subversion of expectations because that series trains you to expect such deaths as the norm. But in Chainsaw Man, even with some character deaths already under its belt, it never led you to expect anything like what Makima did to so many significant characters, thus why their deaths and that entire tragic situation was a subversion.
Or, as a lighter example since I know some are split on how they feel about Chainsaw Man's part 2, how about the Dragon Scroll from the first Kung Fu Panda? The power being inside the character all along is certainly not a new trope, but the scroll being blank is still a subversion of the expectations the story had been building up for the audience throughout the movie until that reveal. Everyone, from Tai Lung to Shifu to Tigress and thus even Po believe that the Dragon Scroll is something mystical that will grant literal power to whoever reads it. The only one who knew the truth was Oogway and he always chose his words carefully in order to not give away the deception.
The scroll being just empty shiny paper fits very well with the movie's main themes and ideas, as well as much of the general philosophy of martial arts, but it is still a subversion of expectations because of what we'd been made to expect by the story.
Heck, what about Alien? In plenty of horror movies it's fairly common for the main character to survive until the end even when all the other characters get killed off, but if you watch the movie Ripley is not initially set-up and established like she's the main character. Rather, that would be Kane. He's the one we enter the movie with and who's perspective we spend a decent deal following around until the Facehugger latches onto him. Kane initially seems like he's our protagonist and thus it's a subversion of our expectations, as the movie set them up, for him to be the first one to die.
In all these examples we are set up to expect a certain payoff, thus why it's a subversion when we get something else, while All Might not dying in the final arc isn't a subversion of expectations because that was a potential payoff we were set-up to expect for that storyline.
TL;DR: Just because certain tropes or plots are common doesn't mean a story subverted expectations by not doing them. It depends on what the story itself actually set you up to expect.

We have set targets on the 3 star rates we'd like to see at different Town Halls. Part of the long-term solution here is also to build better tools for players to learn better strategies. The game actually does a terrible job of making that discoverable right now without going outside of the game and watching creator videos. 27	Why isn't there a mechanic that incentives game time or time on app? As an active player, I am almost always ONLY waiting for builders and almost always with full storages (or close enough that there's zero point doing anything). It actually incentivizes me to play less or not at all. Why not a small builder boost per attack star earned (relative to league placement)? Eg. if you 3 star a base in Titan, you get a 10 minute builder boost or something. Seems counterintuitive to voluntarily limit play time and time on app. There should be some reward, even small, for wanting to play more.	Our timers are too long and we are working to bring them down. We agree too often active people get blocked with nothing to do by timers. But we also don't want those active players to run out of things to upgrade and are playing for. So we want to introduce more systems to the game that let us add more to do and play for. It'll take time to build those systems but as we have more of them our average timers will shrink. At the same time at Supercell we don't believe infinite play time is healthy for players in the long run either. So having timers and similar mechanics is needed somewhat. Even though there are curs being made at cost or time for upgrades, for low level townhall catching up sure seems impossible. IE: Defenses do 1.5x damage BUT you have 10 xtra spell slots, or the defensive targeting is switched. just stupid crap like that can bring a little life into an attack. (we are both 19 and i’m a female he’s a male)
i know three weeks isn't that long of a time to go without seeing a significant other but it's really getting to me because i feel like we never talk and it's really bugging me because i know it's neither of our faults it's just the way our schedules are lined up.
i wake up hours after he puts his phone down for work so i usually don't get to even text him until around six or seven which is when i'm taking a nap for before my shift. then when i go to work obviously i can't talk then so we barely text and i can't even call him because usually one of us is exhausted after he gets home and i have to leave. even if we were able to hangout it's always just for a night every two to four weeks then we go back to the same cycle where we never talk and it all just feels so disconnected. and then when we do text i'm always pissed off because of our schedules but when i bring up how bad it's bothering me he always gets defensive like i'm blaming him when i'm just saying it's making me really upset.
i don't expect someone to always prioritize me either but even when there's time to call it's always after he's been out with friends or after this or whatever and i feel pushed off to the side all of the time. his past relationship had been really obsessed with him though, expecting him to text every minute of the day, controlling what he could watch (if there was nudity on the screen like in movies) and whatnot and i feel like he’s always taking that out on me too. for example hell be out with friends and let’s say it’s the off chance i actually speak up he always says “it’s just texting, plus i don’t have to text every second of the day” and i always just feel bad because ik he struggles with that stuff but EYE also am missing him and it makes me just question whether i’m a chore or not to him.
i don’t have a car either so he usually has to drive 80 miles from his to my house to get me and then back to his. and recently it’s felt like the im not worth the drive either. he’s struggling with money rn and i understand that so i always offer where i can in the money for gas department. but he still uses gas as an excuse after i have said time and time again i will help. i’m just so tired of feeling like i’m not worth a text message, a phone call, a drive, etc. on top of that i’ve been feeling pressured to move in with him because “it’ll make it so much easier” yeah it will and ik that. but it’s always like he just doesn’t want to put the effort into me and would rather he didn’t have to.
side note for our anniversary i know i’ve bought him three or four presents (coming to a total of 183 dollars) and he has bought me one gift. (i only know because he told me and used “money is tight” as an excuse. money is tight for me too, i only make 300 a paycheck and was willing to spend 2/3 of it on him for one day. for valentines he only got me flowers. for his birthday i bought him a Carhartt sweatshirt and a nice jacket i knew he would like, and i put time and effort into finding things he would like. the only thing i got from him on my birthday was a 13 dollar ring. (i’m not psycho and looked for the price. i only know it was 13 because i sent a picture of it to my bestfriend saying i really want this ring, and she ended up sending him the picture as a gift idea for me. so once again, he didn’t put effort into me and took the easy way out and also, didn’t spend a fraction of what i would have spent if i made the money he did).
side note i received one (1) (that’s ONE) bouquet of flowers from him in the entire year we have been together and i suspect i won’t get one on our anniversary in a week either. he also said later after i received that one bouquet that he only got it because i said multiple times that if i didn’t get one for valentine’s day i’d be pissed off and that he only did it so i wouldnt be pissed at him. not to mention i ALSO got him a bouquet on that day.
i’m also not a jealous person or someone that expects a lot or really cares about the gifts i’m receiving. i really only care that the effort is the same on both sides. and i feel like recently i’m always the one to try and text him (after being ignored for hours) or to ask to call even though it makes me nervous to ask because he never wants to.
it just feels like i’m not that important to him anymore and he means the world to me.

I saw my school talent show 2 days ago. People were singing songs from different artists and made me want to sing a will wood song but problem is I’m not sure which on. I talked to my friend about it and I said front street because I remember most of the words but then we talked about the questionable lines “HERE’S TO MY LADY AND I’M COMING INSIDE” so yeah I’m not sure would surbia be good or Marsha, Thankk You for the Dialectics, but I Need You to Leave? Oh or Yes to err is human so son’t be one!

Once upon a time in like 2017 I was cooking in this highbrow shithole in Brooklyn, I'm not going to mention the restaurant but it's pretty popular amongst lower-upper-class hipsters and the kitchen was rarely under 100°F when I was there.
Anyways, it was one of those brunches where you didn't have time to think. The tickets were coming in "hot and heavy" like the chef liked to yell, and there was a new guy working the eggs station who was kinda clumsy and eccentric and kept stuffing the tickets into his apron after calling them instead of putting them in line. It was funny at first, but then it started to really clog up the expo and piss the chef off.
I was on the grill station, which consisted of searing sausages, grilling burgers to temp, toasting buns or bread, heating bacon, frying chicken and green tomatoes and french fries, and plating all the sandwiches. The amount of sandwiches I had to make per minute during those busy brunches made me feel like an octopus spinning in circles and flailing its tentacles around. I was a real anxious panicky fuck back then too.
Anyways it was getting to the last hour and my brain was absolutely fried from five hours of moving as fast as I could (after three hours of moving slightly slower during prep) and we were deep in the weeds. I was putting up like three burgers with couple green tomato sandwiches and a chicken sandwich. The way we transported the fried chicken from the fryer to the pass was via sizzle platter, which in case you don't know, get kinda slippery when they're wet from the dishwasher and you put some greasy crinkly meat on it with nothing but a C-fold in between.
I had all the sandwiches plated with fries and salads and everything, but the chicken was just taking a little too long, and the chef was getting impatient with me. Finally I pulled it out. The chef had his back turned talking to a server. I went to salt it but I moved too fast and it slipped right off the platter. I didn't have any more chicken tempered and ready to go, and this pickup was already super late because the guy next to me kept burning the scrambled eggs trying to do two at a time. The chicken was on the floor. I had a second to make up my mind. I looked the guy on eggs right in his eyes (he was more experienced and kind of a sagely type) and it seemed like he gave me the go-ahead, so by pure dehydrated instinct I scooped up the chicken breast, dusted it off, and threw it back into the fryer. Gotta kill whatever got on it, right?
The chef yelled "WHERE'S THAT FUCKING CHICKEN" and I said "right here" with a sprinkle of salt, and lemme tell you that chicken was spotless after being back in that 375+° deep fryer for ten seconds. It went out and everything went smooth, no complaints. But I swear I spent the rest of that day feeling like I was already dead, like I'd gotten away with murder and didn't deserve it. Later when I was having my unlimited shift drinks at the bar with the guy on eggs (this place was ridiculous), he told me "Hey you did the right thing, you put it back in first."
Weirdly enough I was much more mortified the time I accidentally served several customers the watercress salad littered with aphids. But that was during dinner and it was dark enough that nobody noticed.
What a time in my life...

Basically what I'm trying to say is, I think ttyd has the perfect amount of little papery details in it. It's mainly used as a little visual gag, like when you use the ultra boots and float from the ceiling, or general white getting crumpled a little when you jump on him.
There's also the 'curses', which are definitely more prominent, but I would still personally say the game doesn't really shove the idea of it being a paper gimmick in your face. I have a weird suspicion that if the curse chests existed in one of the modern games, their interactions would be a bit different. Probably still funny, but different, you know? The chests are kinda just like "this is a terrible horrible curse, suffer fool!" And don't really mention it being a paper related thing, iirc. Idk maybe they say like one or two throwaway lines about it or something.
Another little detail I noticed is these occasional paper related 'puns'(?). Like a character will say a regular sentence but use a particular paper themed term in the middle or something like that. I don't really know how to explain it. It's done very casually, like I said they'll say a relatively normal sentence that contains a subtle little paper joke within it. An example that I can think of was basically a character saying something about beating someone into confetti or something along those lines, I think it was either one of the piantas or maybe an x-naut idk. I'm doing a terrible job explaining this little phenomenon, but it's a cute thing that I enjoy occasionally.
Also plenty of things like with blowing away fake walls, the screen tearing for transitions, etc
Don't get me wrong, I don't necessarily hate the newer games. I think they can be really cute and lead to some genuinely intimidating moments. The games just tend to be focused on the paper motif. Like instead of a story in a world that happens to be made of paper, the story is about paper. The main conflict is about paint or origami or something.
A lot of people seem to want a future game to have absolutely nothing to do with paper. No jokes about it, or paper related mechanics, nothing. I think what people mean though is that the entire game shouldn't throw the paper idea in your face. Whenever I mention being ok with little papery things in a future game, I mean things like what we see in ttyd (and to a lesser extent, 64). I think they're cute and add a ton of charm to the game, while also fitting a theme. To be entirely honest, I think the general complete and utter lack or anything even slightly paper related in SPM is what kinda alienates the game for me. (I love SPM, it just kinda doesn't feel like a paper mario game imo. Honestly it barely feels like a mario game, even)
Basically tl;dr, ttyd often uses the whole paper aesthetic for little things, but isn't in your face about the world being made of paper, and I personally enjoy it. This is about the level of referencing the paper thing I would like to see in the future. More of this please.

Even the prospect of writing this out is kind of daunting lol so props to all of you who post your trip reports (and I greedily read every word!). Whenever people say stuff like “this is so long, I don’t expect anyone to read this!” I’m always like “of course I’m going to read every word and love it!” But now I am the one telling you guys, this is very long and I can’t imagine who out there is going to read this lol
Thursday 5/16 - Travel Day
Flew to Naples where my friend lives. Plan was to stay two nights with her before we headed to Orlando for one “girls night” before my solo trip began.
Saturday 5/18 - Travel to Disney!
Left at 6:30am to drive to Orlando. It was her and her two girls (age 11 and 5). We had reservations for one night at Beach Club. We bounded as princesses (Tiana, Ariel, Aurora, Jasmine). We walked to Epcot at 11:30am and that short walk was INCREDIBLE. I can’t believe how close the park is!!! Beach Club is amazing for location alone! Here are the things we ate and experienced:
~~Toasted Pretzel Bread (Germany): 20/10 This was absolutely delicious and over the course of the week I think I ate it like 5-6 times lol
~~Raspberry Radler (Germany): same as above, LOVED
~~Harvested a Pearl (Japan): This was seriously THE BEST experience! We all got them put in necklaces. One of her daughters got a gray/blue pearl and it was gorgeous. Lots of attention when she showed mine bc it looked big and she kept moving it up the sizing plate. I ended up with an 8.5mm pearl! It was very exciting and lots of celebration by the workers and crowd. They said it was the largest of the day. Honestly, I recommend this to ANYONE. It was less expensive than I expected, $29 to harvest the pearl, then I think I spent $23 on a cage for it, and I chose to buy a necklace for it to wear right away and that was $26. I am 100% doing it again in September when I go back for my 40th birthday (and I told my hubby he is doing it too and will love it!)
~~Lemon Drop Shandy (The Citrus Blossom): 7/10 good! nothing exceptional, I liked the radler better
~~Cinnamon Roll Bites (Brunchcot): 6/10, I was so excited for these but they were just average. I think maybe if we had a batch that had more frosting it might have been better. They weren’t bad, just not outstanding. Loved the bacon crumbles though!
~~Guardians of the Galaxy: the only reason this is making it into the notes is bc of my Reliefband. I get motion sickness. I tried Guardians last fall (after 2 dramamine) and still had to sit for about an hour afterward to chill and not be sick. I decided to purchase a Reliefband (classic version, Amazon, $129) to try out this trip and see if it would work. I was very skeptical. But I am here to say it worked 1000000000%. I was so blown away. Absolutely ZERO feelings of motion sickness during or after the ride. Kept my eyes open the whole time (it’s the visual speed that usually gets me, screen rides get me too). I am not a big thrill ride person, so incidentally this time around I realized this isn’t the ride for me. I just don’t enjoy it that much, BUT the big deal is to find out that is my ride preference and has nothing to do with motion sickness. It was so liberating not having my motion sickness control me! Ooooo, also, I was absolutely ecstatic that I got the song I’ve always wanted!! Everybody Wants to Rule the World!
We left Epcot at 4pm and went back to the resort to check in. First of all, it’s so gorgeous there. The room was wonderful, the lobby is beautiful and smells amazing. I wish we had the money to always stay deluxe bc I get why people love deluxe resorts so much!
Dinner at Ale & Compass (Yacht Club): 7/10, again, food was decent but nothing exceptional. Actually the Parker House Rolls were 1000% worth the hype, I got the NY Strip Steak though, asked for medium rare and I think it was more medium and that ruined it a bit for me (also taste was just meh)
We spent about an hour and half swimming at Stormalong Bay after dinner. That pool is seriously incredible. I never want to experience anything but a sand bottom pool again. The. Absolute. Best.

Sunday 5/19 - Girls Leave and Solo Begins
We checked out and then had a Beaches and Cream reservation at 11:30am. We shared the Bacon Ranch Totchos (7/10 tasty but too much topping for me), Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup (grilled cheese 9/10, tomato soup 6/10), aaaaand the Kitchen Sink Sundae (9/10)! Was it smart for us to get this with only two adult women and two children? Probably not. But boy was it fun and delicious and we put way more of a dent in it than I thought we would lol. A little siren goes off in the restaurant when one is brought to a table and there is a back and forth with kitchen staff and customers (they say something about a “whole can of whipped cream” and customers answer back as a group) and it was a very fun vibe! In fact that is one of the reasons I rate it a 9/10 haha, bc I think there is just too much whipped cream and a lot of the ice cream is just buried.
We swam at Stormalong bay for 2 more hours before they dropped me off at All-Star Movies and they headed home to Naples.

I got into my room at All-Star Movies (Love Bug building 6) and tbh I didn’t mind its distance to the bus stop, maybe bc it was just me, but I didn’t have a problem with it, I thought the walk was quick enough. I was in Magic Kingdom by 5:30pm.

My feet were hurting by the time I went into this show, so while it was going on I switched to my flip flops and my feet took a complete 180 degrees. I wore flip flops the rest of the trip and had zero issues with sore feet. I guess I’m just a flip flop girly???)

Again, I had an opposite experience! I love dinosaur movies (like Jurassic park) so I really enjoyed this one. I hope it is still there to ride when I am back in the fall!
3:30pm Nomad Lounge (added myself to waitlist on app, there was no “wait” got the text pretty much immediately) This was such an important break out of the heat. I spent an hour here to recharge. I drank a lot of water, had a delicious cocktail Lamu Libation 10/10, Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl 8/10, and Churros 10/10. I was able to charge my phone in an outlet at the bar. It was the perfect break!

It was honestly only $6.50. She tried to tell me no and that she would go get her mom, but I just overrode her and said “It’s Disney! Let me!” with a smile. We were both at the window to pick up our items together and when she got hers she unexpectedly leaned in and gave me a hug and thanked me again. I was so surprised and heartwarmed (and also felt bad that I was kinda sweaty lol). But anyway it was a wonderful moment!

This was my toughest day of my whole solo trip for several reasons. 1) I don’t think I did enough sit down things, I was on my feet a ton 2) I was not being “park smart”. Epcot is huge enough in the first place but I was not navigating the park in an efficient way and ended up walking WAY more than I should have. Around 7:30-8pm I started to feel something pulled in my leg (after googling later maybe a mild issue with adductor tendon?) it was high up in my inner thigh, I decided to leave the park only 10 mins after Luminous started bc I really wanted to not push myself, the next day was going to be my Magic Kingdom day and that is my favorite park and would likely be a long day and I just didn’t want to ruin it.

Wednesday 5/22 - Hollywood Studios (not Magic Kingdom!)
Woke up before 7am and decided to pivot on my plans bc of my leg. I decided to stay in the resort room until midday to rest my leg, and due to that decision I switched my park day from MK to HS. I figured if I was going to be in a park for less hours of the day I would rather sacrifice time in Hollywood Studios than Magic Kingdom. I bought Genie+ and bought an ILL for Rise of the Resistance for 1:40pm. This ended up being THE BEST decision I could have made. By the time I left my room, my leg was feeling 100% better and I did not have any issues with it for the rest of the trip!

A++, this will always be one of my faves.

3:00pm Smuggler's Run (G+) - okaayyyyyy, I have never been on this (due to motion sickness fears) but I decided to take the plunge. I got all the way to sitting in the seat and tbh I was terrified. I was by myself, I didn’t know exactly what to expect and I was not so much scared that I would be sick, I was confident in the Reliefband, but I was worried I would hate the simulated feeling of flying. That kinda freaks me out. So then, the ride doesn’t actually start and they tell us that a CM will be in to let us out bc it has malfunctioned and we will be given a LL back. I was quite literally SO RELIEVED. I will try that ride, but in September when I am with my husband!

You can hardly see anything back there. I will not make this mistake again. I left just as the floats started bc I could not even see them at all.

Ultimately, I side on yes bc I didn’t even get to the park until 1pm, got to walk the park a ton, I did the most photopass spots here than I did on any other day, so Genie+ allowing me to just hop on 3 rides with no wait gave me the time to do all of that (and watch Frozen twice and B&B show), and I had the time to wait for Runaway Railway standby again. Also, bc the Smugglers Run malfunction allowed me to use a “LL” on Rise again, that alone made it worth it!

9:30pm TRON - I tried getting a boarding group at 7am and didn’t get in. So then my plan was to get in at 1pm but I totallyyyyyyy forgot about it and I remembered at 1:55pm and I was like “crap! I guess I will see if I can still buy an ILL”. I was about to do that and then I thought to myself, “maybe I should just see if the VQ is still open?” AND IT WAS! So I literally got a boarding group at 2pm, an hour after the VQ started, I was shocked and thrilled when I got one! Plus TRON is always so gorgeous at night. I actually have yet to ride it in the day lol And LISTEN, I get that most people prefer Guardians to TRON, I really do get it. BUT bc I am not that much of a thrill ride person, I like easier going coasters. I seriously love TRON so much. It is such a horizontal coaster that it’s like my ideal. You get the thrill from it being fast and a little dippy, but nothing crazy. It’s a fave for me!!!

Friday 5/24 - Bonus Day?!
This was supposed to be my travel day back home. My flight was set to leave at 5pm, but in the morning my husband told me about storms in the midwest and I got an email from the airline about “adverse weather conditions”, so I called and changed my flight to the next day at 7am. (It ended up being the right choice bc my original 5pm flight out of MCO was delayed multiple times until it was finally canceled at like 10:30pm) I was thankfully able to book another night at All-Star Movies and could stay in my same room. I quickly formed the plan to go back to Animal Kingdom to see Festival of the Lion King again bc I had enjoyed it so much earlier in the week and then go to EPCOT to finish the final 4 Spikes that I had not located yet for the scavenger hunt!

I have already altered our plans for September to include two meals here so I can get this bowl twice next time lol

Overall Thoughts
10/10 Amazing Trip. I found out about people going on solo trips here on reddit late last year and I was immediately certain I had to book one. While I can be a very social person, I am also a loner in the fact that I do enjoy spending time in my own company (not everybody does) so I knew a solo trip was right up my alley. It was everything I hoped for and more. I didn’t have to consult anyone else, I could do what I want, when I want. Also, (not to brag….shhhhhh…I’m not bragging I swear) but I am not a complainer. The heat usually doesn’t affect me too much, I have a good amount of endurance so I get tired of course but it takes a lot. I’m pretty unflappable because I’m just happy to BE AT Disney World. Others I’ve gone with are not like this so much lol so it was nice to just be in my own company in the sense that I was always in a positive mood and didn’t have anyone dimming that? If that makes sense?
Safety
I am a petite woman. I am 4’10” and 118lbs so I am very aware of my size in terms of my safety. I can honestly say though that I felt safe throughout the whole trip. The one time that I got off the bus at All-Star Sports at 10pm to go to the gift shop and then walked all the way to Movies, that did worry me a bit but only as I was walking through the parking lot sections.
And I did get the crap scared out of me at the resort due to the requirement of a “visual check”. I had not ever heard of this, but I was in my room for a midday break and I had a knock at my door by housekeeping. I thought it was odd bc I had my “room occupied” sign out the whole time bc I didn’t feel the need for housekeeping, it was just me in the room. I said “no thank you” and they knocked and announced housekeeping again. I said “no thank you” louder. (internally I was thinking, can they not hear me through the door????) and they did it again! I finally went closer to the door and I heard the person mumble something about a “visual check” and I very sternly and loudly said “no!” bc I didn’t know what the heck they were talking about. I peeked through the curtain at my window and watched the guy walk past holding a phone in his hand. I think he was wearing a uniform shirt but I couldn’t totally tell. I decided to call the resort in the event this was someone trying to pose as housekeeping staff. They ended up relieving my fears by telling me it was legitimate. Apparently, you have to have your room checked at some point in your stay (I was staying 5 nights) if you choose not to get housekeeping. He explained this has to do with the Pulse Nightclub shooting. I guess they had stockpiled guns in their hotel room and kept not letting housekeeping in. He explained that is why they do the visual check, for the safety of all resort guests. I was 100% supportive once he told me that and I felt bad for yelling at the guy. But also, I am a solo woman and I had no idea what the hell was going on, and to be completely frank, I had just showered so I was in a tshirt and underwear which made me feel even more vulnerable bc I was not fully dressed! I was not letting that person in my room. The guy on the phone totally understood that and apologized for alarming me. I told him to have the guy come back and do the visual check. I apologized to him when he came in. He was in my room for all of 10 seconds and that was it. But it was certainly a crazy ordeal!
Walking
I was doing 20-30k steps each day and other than hurting my leg on Tuesday I was honestly fine. I had shin splints too but again, they weren’t terrible and by Thursday they were gone. I brought tennis shoes and flip flops intending to switch on and off throughout the week in order to prevent my feet from getting sore but that never happened. I spent 3 hours in the shoes on Monday before my feet started hurting and I never wore them again. I had 2 different pairs of flip flops the whole time. I guess that is what my feet like!
Backpack vs Loungefly
I typically wear a normal size backpack to the parks, but also I can usually share wearing it with my husband. I didn’t really consider how hard it would be to wear a backpack alllllllll day long. And it wasn’t even heavy, I didn’t put much in it at all, but still it wore on my shoulders and made them sore. On Wednesday I ended up getting a Loungefly even though they have never really been my thing. It honestly ended up being perfect. It felt different on my shoulders and I wasn’t getting sore like I was with a regular size backpack.
Waiting in Lines
I have often read that one of the things that bothers solo travelers the most is waiting in lines by themselves bc it’s boring and they have no one to keep them company. I thought I might feel this way too but waiting in lines was not bad at all to me. It’s so easy to be on your phone that whole time. I was looking at my photopass photos, browsing reddit, and inputting trip notes. I felt like waiting in line was not a hardship for me as a solo traveler.

This trip exceeded my expectations with photopasses! The number of photos each photographer took and the variety of positions and magic shots was awesome. I am assuming part of that is because I was solo? I am not sure but I just felt like the quantity and time spent at each photopass location was better than normal. Special shout out to Hollywood Studios, that day in particular was just awesome. Every photographer was awesome, but especially the ones in Galaxy’s Edge. I was having such an amazing time getting them!

I'm looking for a book that I read in what would have been late 2019 or early 2020 before lockdown. I swear the word Poison was in the title but I've been unsuccessful in any searches of looking it up. I think it always something along the lines of "all's fair in love and poison"
however I keep getting poetry books and this would be a YA Fantasy book I'm looking for
The plot that I remember was that the main character was a female and she was an Alchemist like her father? Her mother was a duchess or something of the like but engaged or she was after the king but not for romance she was trying to kill him I believe. She wanted her daughter to brew a poison as her mother was the head of a very big cult made up of the wealthy people. Her mother is very mean and cruel in personality and doesn't not in fact like that she took up alchemy like her father so she forces her to make all kinds of concoctions to help this cult that she leads
There was an attack at some point though that disrupted everything and she ran into her half siblings? (Between her mother and I think it was the king?) but anyways I believe it was up to the main character, and I think her oldest step brother or best friend (I really don't remember?) to put an end to things and save the king? I never finished the book
The magic comes into play simply because I want to say I remember at one point a servant in the castle getting the kids out into the woods so they could escape and there being a magical blue fire covering everything and she tries to save her siblings from it with the potions and vials she keeps on her person at all times

Heads up for you guys. I have three tickets for a show in July that cost about $1000. Got an email from Ticketmaster that my phone number was updated and that my tickets were transferred to another person. I called the help line and was told a ticket was made and should hear from their fraud team in 5 days. They also said they cannot guarantee my tickets because it was received by another person. Agent B17 - MISSION LOG [Human Standard Time]: March 19, 2137
Shadow Cabal System Expansion Lab, Remote location on Aafa
Observer W04 had impressed upon me the importance of this mission, both for the Ongoing Primary Objective, and for the Urgent Secondary Objective. After weeks of data analysis following the Seige of Mileau, the Intelligence Division of the Dossur Conspiracy had picked up chatter in the network on the location of our captured hostages.
We had narrowed down an information nexus at a newly identified Shadow Cabal System Expansion Lab on Aafa, which my team of Shadows were currently infiltrating. Posing as a maintenance crew for the ventilation system, we had opened the side of a rooftop cooling unit, and had entered the ductwork as a cleaning crew.
Once inside the ducts, we had opened our cleaning devices and pulled out the real equipment: a close link point to point FTL radio, and a spool of optical cables, along with several micro camera units, to allow the conspiracy to more closely monitor the activities in this "hidden facility".
My team split, to deploy the monitoring system through the facility, while I focused on the "secure computing chamber". Getting to those servers was deemed a high value target, and being the best available agent, I was tasked to remain invisible, and enable the "owning" of the data being stored there. The other members of my team, backtracked to the cooling unit, cleaning as they went, to maintain the cover story. They entered the maintenance cart and drove it to the meeting site, their tasks complete.
[Time advance: 3 claws]
The square conduit was dark, lit only by the evenly spaced grilles of vents. I slowly crawled along the open passage, being sure to keep my claws from skittering on the bottom. My weight, all [140 grams], was not enough to warp the metal, so I did not make any noise as I progressed. I could finally see the lit grille that was my current objective; It appeared someone had stayed in the lab to work late. No matter, my time was not of the essence, maintaining secrecy was. I would wait long enough for this dedicated individual to pack it in.
I slowed my approach as I came up to the grille, and placed the monitoring device I had brought with me, such that the fiber optic link back to the camera control pod was well hidden. The fisheye lens at the end of it would ensure that nothing could be missed by its wide field of view. The microphone would pick up even the sound of breathing from across the room, and the spread spectrum signaling link, the latest out of the Conspiracy labs, would not attract notice due to the resemblance to white noise splattered across the radio spectrum.
With the camera in place, I relaxed and watched it's feed from the display in my night vision goggles. There was still enough time for some last minute surveillance. The exfiltration at the designated landing zone would not take place until I gave the signal. The backup LZ would not be needed for this mission.
Whiskers passed, ticking away slowly, as I watched this mid-level planner work though scheduling transport of scores of victims to various Predator Disease Facilities. Eventually, the Kolshian, one Dr. Javyrius, was satisfied with his work, and made a backup copy to carry home. He popped the backup chip out of the computer and slipped the fingernail sized unit into his pocket.
Sqwek. This mission just got much harder…
I loosed the collar of my vest, and pulled the blowgun from my pack. I selected a soporific dart from my selection of ammunition, and lined up the shot. With a quick, near silent puff of my cheeks, the dart flew to its target, striking exactly where I needed it to go; the basal artery on the back of the Kolshian's neck. The Kolshian slapped at it, like it was an insect; this only helped to inject the remaining dose into his neck, which was then pumped directly into his brain. He stood up abruptly, then staggered along the desk as the drug began to take effect, finally slumping to the floor, asleep, as he was overcome by the full effects of the drug.
The risk was great, but I needed to make sure that the files on both the mainframe and the backup copy on his laptop were replaced with the data that the Conspiracy needed to be there.
I opened the ventilation grille and slipped through it into the lab. I rapelled down the monofilament cable I had attached to the floor of the vent, and, on reaching the floor, detached the carabiner from my harness.
I scurried across the floor, keeping to all fours. I approached the now somnolent Kolshian, and quickly checked the pulse at his neck, removing the spent dart. Having verified that his pulse was slow but steady, I confirmed he was in a deep sleep. I again had some time. We could not have our cover blown by an accidental death, and the ensuing investigations.
I moved down along his body, taking care to keep out of view of the lab windows. I reached into the pocket where the backup chip he created had been placed. I removed the chip, and replaced it with one of the three copies of false data that I had brought with me. I then climbed up on his back, and leapt from there to the top of the stool he had been working from, to his computer.
The machine was still logged in, and I proceeded to remove and replace the data files with the ones the Conspiracy had prepared. I made copies of the PD patient data he'd been working on while the Stellar Systems Survey data were updated to mark certain out-of-the-way star systems as having no habitable or exploitable planets. As such, these star systems would be marked as not needing any further investigation, and would fall off the Federation's radar for exploration and exploitation. This would make these systems the perfect places for hidden colonies, a prime goal of the Dossur Conspiracy.
More immediately, though, these records of which victims were assigned to what facilities would be of great interest to the "Bring Them Home" faction of the Dossur Conspiracy… This mission had uncovered a goldmine, and I intended to see that the most was made of it.
The clomping of boots in the outer hallway alerted me to the approach of the guard, and I curled up behind the screen of the laptop, out of sight of the lab windows. Score one for being one of the smallest sapients in the known galaxy. I heard the boots pause briefly, then move on.
"Central Control, this is Security One. The geeks left the lights on in Lab 4 again. Go ahead and turn that off." the guard called out over his radio.
A short time later, I pulled the memory chips with the completed copies from the laptop and dropped onto the stool, and then back to the floor. The lights in the lab went out a short time later, but I had already reeled myself back up the monofilament into the open vent and replaced the grille.
A few little viral surprises had been left while I had the laptop open; the boys in the cyber division would be ecstatic. Direct access to these Shadow Cabal servers meant that these excursions into the lab would no longer be necessary and the risk associated with getting the system data off of Aafa, were greatly reduced.
All that remained was to extricate myself. Having planted the observation microcameras, I was able to return to the rooftop and go uncover the last piece of vital equipment left by my team: A memory fiber glider.
I slipped into the glider harness, and activated the memory, which unfurled the carbon fiber from it's rolled up pliant state to the stiff aerodynamic wings I needed, and I leapt from the roof, gliding away under the darkness.
"Mama Bird, come get your fledgling." I whispered into the comand channel, and maintained my glide path over the road leading to the facility.

THe tiny ship flew on, following the road out over the nearby ocean, it maintained nape of the earth altitude until well over the horizon, and then went extra-orbital, before engaging the FTL drive to the safe hold.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry to bother, but I had noticed a tiny issue in Tasker. I have two animations each of which is made of tiny rectangles in a line. And two buttons for each line of these two lines of rectangles.
When I activate first animation, which changes color one after another upwards, it takes about set of 3 seconds until the end. Second button activates another 3 seconds of another line of rectangles also.
But unfortunately, when I click the second button, the first animation slows down a little bit, which is visible alot.
Is there a way to launch two buttons for both animations, so that they will not interfere with each other?
I use only FOR loop from 1 to 9 rectangles that is 9 rectangles and set color using Element Back Colour and I stop time each passing of the loop.
I wonder if there is even something simplier, maybe some Clock that would activate colors, so I wont have the necessity to use Buttons and the animations would not slow down considerably.

I do have a few criticisms of the con but because it's the first one for Psych, i do feel they're fixable. But im just gonna share the love for fellow psychos who missed out! P.S. there was a sign that said audio and video isn't allowed to be recorded so im not going to post anything like that!

Timothy and Corbin were a fun pair for the first panel! and shoutout to all the psych-os who asked questions because some of them were SUCH good questions! and then the few sillier ones made it light hearted and sweet again. One question that i thought was beautiful was what their respective characters learned from the other. Tim said Lassie learned from Henry a lot of things, and Corbin said Henry learned from Lassie to love people and allow them in and that Henry's not a bad person from Lassie's stroke which of course reflects Tim's real life.
Psych-os trivia was meh and also the questions were genuinely so difficult LOL. i attached a pic that was from the very back but a lot seats are empty— that's because it was during psych trivia, lots of ppl left the seats to get food or merch. they mentioned it was about 2000 of us there!
Kirsten and Kurt were so funny. oh my god Kirsten is SO so beautiful in person! two very adorable children psychos asked them questions one after the other and it was so sweet! Kurt kept bringing up how Woody was interested in Chief Vick which was very funny.
The couple's panel aka James, Maggie, Jazmyn and Dulé was great! we all sang happy birthday to a fellow psycho (Matthew, i have an audio recording of that. if you want it, please dm me!) in response to favorite couple moments Maggie and James said ironically that they both pick the break up scene. James praised Maggie's acting a lot for that scene. Dulé mentioned his fave Shules moment was when they first meet at the diner. My question was if there was a scene not written for their character that they wish they could've done as an actor- maggie and jazmyn said allison cowley's speech at the end of psych movie 1. and maggie also said jazmyn's whole spiel in the morgue with the sandwich. Dulé said he'd wanna be zach levi with a bad British accent. James said Yang in the car scene where she holds the detonator at the end of an Evening with Mr. Yang and mentioned how ally sheedy killed it.
auction was wild. someone bought a banner that had every cast member's autograph on it for just under $1300!
Psych Game Night - cast vs psychos was very fun! a bit disorganized and the psychos who were on stage against the cast did pretty well. first was a family feud style game and then finish the line. however audience psychos helped out and when they did, they got to go on stage and receive a tshirt or tote that all the cast members signed! super amazing for them!! but psychos on stage apparently got leftover merch and the cast members went backstage quickly at the end so not all psychos on stage got signed items apparently :( i think it was just hectic and not totally planned out. they did go easy on the psychos and gave us extra chances by answering questions etc. the cast acted out some iconic lines from the show for the "finish the line" game!

CNN — Donald Dorff could hear the crowd roaring as he snatched the quarterback’s pitch from the air and sprinted toward the goal line. “There was a 280-pound tackle waiting for me, so I decided to give him my shoulder,” the 67-year-old told National Geographic magazine in 1987.
“When I came to, I was on the floor in my bedroom,” Dorff said. “I had smashed into the dresser and knocked everything off it and broke the mirror and just made one heck of a mess. It was 1:30 a.m.”
How did a dream from a retired grocery manufacturer from Golden Valley, Minnesota, become worthy of a profile in a well-known national magazine?
Five years earlier, Dorff had become the first patient diagnosed with an unusual disease called rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder, or RBD.
There’s more. Dorff’s case also launched researchers on a journey that uncovered one of the earliest signs of two devastating diseases: Parkinson’s and a unique form of dementia called Lewy body.
The discovery of RBD was made in 1982 when Dorff, after years of experiencing “violent moving nightmares,” became a patient of psychiatrist and sleep specialist Dr. Carlos Schenck, then working at the Minnesota Regional Sleep Disorders Center in Minneapolis.
“During rapid eye movement or REM sleep, the brain basically paralyzes the body so that we cannot act out our dreams,” Schenck, now a professor and senior staff psychiatrist at the Hennepin County Medical Center at the University of Minnesota, told CNN recently. “But Dorff was able to get up and hurt himself while dreaming, a very odd behavior. We were scratching our heads about it,” he said. “Then we put him in a sleep lab, and lo and behold, all his physical behaviors came out of REM sleep, which had never been reported before.”
More patients with the unusual disorder were identified, many exhibiting a disturbing set of violent symptoms, Schenck said.
“They start kicking in bed, throwing punches at their bed partners, talking or screaming loudly, things like ‘Get the hell out of here!’ Then the wife has to scream really loudly to stop the episode,” he said.
“Limb jerking, twitching, throwing out your arm, throwing punches, kicking, sitting up, standing, jumping out of bed and running. Those behaviors are very typical with RBD,” he added.
One 70-year-old patient, described by his wife as having a gentle nature during the day, would punch and kick her as many as five times a night, Schenck said. On one occasion, he tried to strangle his wife while dreaming of fighting off a mauling bear.
Another patient, also 70, dreamed he had just taken down a deer and was going to break its neck. In reality it was his wife’s neck, which he discovered when he woke up. (She quit sleeping in the same bed.)
By 1986, Schenck and his team had published their first paper on the newly discovered sleep disorder.
As he followed patients over the years, however, Schenck discovered something more disturbing — the behavior could be a “canary in the mine” for later neurodegeneration.
“Losing the paralysis of REM sleep that is the basis of RBD is the earliest and strongest predictor of a later diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease and dementia with Lewy body,” Schenck said.
Lewy body dementia can refer to two different types of dementia: Parkinson’s disease dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies, which both affect cognition.
Parkinson’s disease, however, is a slowly progressive disorder that inhibits muscle control, balance and movement — although about 4 in 5 people with Parkinson’s ultimately develop dementia, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
In both Parkinson’s and the two dementias, cells in and around the stalk-like stem at the bottom of the brain begin to die. In addition to breathing, swallowing, heart rate and eye and facial movements, the brain stem also controls the sleep-wake cycle.
Early damage to the brain stem caused by Parkinson’s can interfere with the body’s innate ability to freeze the muscles while dreaming, thus allowing the body to sit up, scream, flail or otherwise act out a dream.
Hallucinations, which are common in Parkinson’s, can also occur, according to case studies. A 67-year-old man would see faceless, hooded or cloaked figures or animals while awake during the night. The images vanished when the man turned on a light or got up to investigate.
Such nighttime behaviors can often be controlled with medication, including high doses of melatonin or the drug clonazepam, which stops seizures and relaxes tense muscles, Schenck said.
“Either one alone or both in combination works 80% to 90% of the time, and there are a long list of alternative treatments,” said Schenck, who first published the connection between RBD and Parkinson’s in February 1996.
“We know the mechanism for RBD very well, and we know how to treat it,” he said. “The next step is to slow down or halt the progression to Parkinson’s disease and dementia with Lewy bodies.”
At first, researchers believed RBD only affected men but then realized that women are equally impacted.
“Just as many women have this problem, but because it’s much milder and doesn’t cause injury as often, they frequently don’t come in to seek help,” Schenck said. “Yet they have lost that muscle paralysis in REM sleep, and they’re just as much at risk for future Parkinson’s disease as the men.”
A clinical trial is underway at nine medical centers in the United States, Schenck said. Called the North American Prodromal Synucleinopathy Consortium, the research hopes to identify potential treatments for rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder and slow its progression into Parkinson’s and dementia.
As a child, Donald Dorff shared a room with three brothers and never had any signs of a sleep disorder. On his wedding night, however, he scared his new bride with loud talking, groaning, teeth grinding and minor movements, according to Schenck’s case study.
About 41 years later, however, he began to have vivid, violent dreams that he would act out. In one dream, he was riding a motorcycle when another motorcyclist tried to ram him.
“I decided I’m going to kick his motorcycle away and at that point my wife woke me up and said, ‘What in heavens are you doing to me?’ because I was kicking the hell out of her,” Dorff told Schenck during treatment.
In another dream Dorff was under attack by a man with a rifle and preparing to shoot back when he suddenly woke up. “I was kneeling alongside the bed with my arms extended like 1 was holding the rifle up and ready to shoot.”
One night Dorff dived into a bedside dresser and cut himself, Schenck said. It was then that he found Schenck’s clinic and went there for treatment.
While some people with RBD develop full-blown Parkinson’s rather quickly, Dorff was not one of them. He died of prostate cancer, Schenck said, and was able to control his violent nighttime behavior until his death as long as he remained on medication.
Dorff’s case helped physicians discover an early key to two devastating disorders, allowing earlier diagnosis and treatment.
“If you’ve never been a sleepwalker or sleep talker throughout your life and suddenly, after the age of 50, you start and the talking becomes louder and more frequent, then you really should be evaluated by your primary care doctor,” Schenck said.
“Your doctor should consider neurological evaluation because that could be the first sign of a neurodegenerative disorder.”
