2024.05.15 09:37 jellof_prince Bandit keys - help

Hello guys!!
As you may have seen, I posted my recent first bike (Bandit 600 Y 2000 reg) which I have really been enjoying!
But yesterday I lost the key for it somewhere on the front lawn, I searched for ages and can't seem to find it. I have a spare but it seems to be very hit and miss with the ignition turning from off to on (resistance on turning).
So I ordered a new key based on the A6001-A7001 number the previous owner had written in the service manual.
My issue now is, I ordered one with no transponder. Does anybody here kniw if you need a transponder for these older bandits or am I fine???
Thank you in advance!

2024.05.15 07:38 graceFut22 Electric mower fires?

Electric mower fires?
I've been watching her for a while and quite enjoy the channel. But this clip, not so much. She's totally against electric mowers cause they'll "burn your house down." Is there any truth to her claim? I know that ICE cars are more likely to combust than EVs and thought it was the same for electric mowers. I do love our Ryobi lithium zero turn and our eGo push mower! Every time I mow the lawn, I just think how a single hour of gas mowing emits as much as eleven gas cars for one hour. And I never have to change the spark plugs, clean the carburetor, change the oil, go to the gas station to get gas, stabilize the fuel for winter, clean my greasy hands, and so on. I know that some Ryobi lead acid diy battery replacements have gone awry and caused a fire, but haven't heard of any other fires.

2024.05.15 07:27 Distinct-Focus736 Funny/sad story for a short distraction from staring at the charts while we get ready to 🚀

With these things you never know for sure. I bought presale, .007, .012., .21, .34, .41, .49 and then more as they went down lol. Just how it goes. The whales are Def coordinating to a degree, and successfully doing their thing, but if the community wasn't strong, it would have crashed several times more over. Everyone just needs to relax, definitely a bunch of meme coin rookies in here and that's okay we all went through those feeling, even if we managed to control it better and we all make stupid mistakes. If anyone reading this is ever feeling down about losing some money buying late or selling a little early, I'll give you a funny sad hard lesson reminder story. This guy set up a new phantom wallet for this investment I believe the first week of the presale...and this dumbass got distracted by some nice tits in my face and forgot to save my seed phrase. Fast forward about a week or so and my new lawn mower gets delivered. Excited, i hop on my new mower, put in some earphones in, throw on some Spotify and stick my phone in this nice fancy little cup holder on the mower. Not 15 minutes later, I heard that nice noise, followed by the music cutting out. At first, I'm just pissed about having to buy a new phone. Setting up the new phone the next day is when I realize the rookie ass mistake. So that account has 210,000 sloth from the presale just sitting there, with me watching it grow, and no way to access it. SOL hadn't dropped as much at that point so I had about $3700 invested for that 170k sloth. Just have to laugh about it even though I check it constantly. Costly mistake and reminder to not get complacent, and you better believe that mower has been getting a nice cleaning after every use lol. Hopefully that put a smile on some faces. Buy the ticket, take the ride!

2024.05.15 06:52 travisihs08 I'm trying to get use to the double blade edge razor. Trying to find alternative to what I'm use to.

But all my shaving experience comes from using a Gillette razor up until getting the double edge razor a few months ago. I can't do it without making it look like I lost a fight to a lawn mower. I've tried so much advice from people who swear by the double edge razor and for me I just can't get the hang of it. I don't want to go back to the Gillette razor, but it seems like it's the only option I have without destroying my face every time.
So at this point what recommendations do you have similar to the Gillette razor that's not the Gillette razor. I would prefer made in United States but would consider a Canadian company.

2024.05.15 06:19 scootalicious P-Bass Hum. Please help me.

All right, I’ve tried everything and at this point, I think I’m losing my mind. I’ve upgrade my MIJ Mustang bass to Nordstrand NM4 PUPs. I wired everything to this schematic. I did all of this with new 250k audio pots, new switchcraft jack, and orange drop capacitor. I’m not the best at soldering, but I’m not a beginner either. Now, I have a hum that wasn’t there before. Here’s the trouble shooting steps I’ve taken and there’s still a hum:
  1. Ground the bridge. Tried several different positions for the wire on the bridge. Even shielded the little cavity the wire comes out of below the bridge. I even tried scratching the bridge up to make better contact.
  2. Shield all the cavities. I also grounded the shielding in the cavity below the control plate to one of pots.
  3. Took a piece of wire and tried ground every. Single. Piece. of metal to the ground on the jack. I even tried to temp a ground from the PUP ground to the shielding and the jack
  4. Tried a different 1/4” TS cable
  5. Tried the amp on multiple circuits in the house.
The only thing that seems to stop the hum is grounding the open lug of the tone pot to something which obviously doesn’t work. I think it just shorts the whole circuit. It also goes away with the tone pot all the way down, but that makes sense.
So, any thoughts? Is it just the way it is with this type of PUP? Thanks in advance for any help. Let me know if I can provide more info.

First house, first lawn looking for recommendation’s for electric trimmers. Small yard but perfectionist and need to edge it bad. Currently trying to remedy dog urine spots.
Been reading reviews, very minor lawn. Dont feel I need to spend thousands on a trimmer and blower but liked the dealt offering or even the local home hardware has craftsmen on sale. Would consider gas but seems like a headache, have a gas mower and currently down until I get a replacement gas line in the mail and needs a tune up which is minor.
Took this photo before I raked the dead grass out and laid down fertilizer with a spreader. Got Scott dog urine seed stuff going to lay down later this week when I have time.
All tips, tricks are welcome.
Thanks in advance, trying to get it prestine. Grew up poor in community housing and apartments never had a lawn. Cannot believe the satisfaction I get from taking care of it so far.

2024.05.15 05:18 GrewlzAI Dad Hoards Lawnmowers

I'll keep this short. I live with my parents and my dad is a hoarder.
I haven't counted but there are probably close to 20 lawnmowers and snowblowers sitting in our yard right now, all different models and issues.
I saw this as an opportunity to learn about mowers, and hopefully hit two birds with one stone (get rid of the mowers and make some money).
So I asked my hoarder dad for permission to fix them up and sell them -- as he gets irrationally angry and violent if anyone touches his things -- and he agreed.
I'm going to catalogue all the lawnmower models tmrrw so that I can have an inventory of all the ones in our possession, and then go from there.
So now I'm asking this subreddit if there's any tips/advice/guides I should know about fixing lawn mowers.
I know NOTHING about lawnmowers and will be learning everything from YouTube. And hopefully this subreddit.
Thanks in advance.

2024.05.15 03:49 Griff223 Fuzz factory clone extremely noisy

Fuzz factory clone extremely noisy
I bought this fuzz factory clone kit on my recent trip to Japan.
https://www.pedalfreaks.jp/items/57210755
After building it, i am disappointed to find that it is extremely noisy and generates a bunch of sound on its own without guitar input. You can faintly hear the guitar when strumming, but it is really dominated by the noise.
I have driven myself a little crazy going over everything in the pedal and looking for errors. The board and all of the jacks are grounded to the 9v plug. I checked the resistor values. All the transistors match the silk screen. Double checked capacitor polarity. Reflowed the solder joints. I’m not sure what else to check. This is a relatively simple circuit, so I feel like the problem is either bad instructions/silk screen or it’s not an issue with the board but rather another mistake.
I was hoping someone who is familiar with the fuzz factory circuit might be able to help me determine if there’s an error in the diagram or if there’s a common mistake which causes this.

2024.05.15 03:42 JadeWishFish Moved and I can't stop dreading about Lawn Care

I moved from a duplex to a house last week. I took the week off work to move and I love the house itself. It's so much quieter. It's basically the same size as my half of the duplex, but it's a corner lot with a huge amount of grass for one person (close to .4 acres of pure grass) that the previous owners took really good care of. My family convinced me into taking this one with the argument of having more lot space = less noise which was the main reason I wanted to move in the first place. I've found out that most of the neighbors around me are old, retired people who meticulously care for and mow their lawn 2+ times a week.
I haven't mowed yet since the realtor I worked with "gifted" me a lawn mowing scheduled for later this week so I could focus on moving and other stuff, but I'm dreading the future so much that I can't relax or focus on anything for more than a few minutes. I can't even lay down in bed without imagining a bunch of dumb hypotheticals. I have a million thoughts racing through my head and I can't do anything right now except worry.
There's so much stuff I want to do and thinking about mowing for 2 or 3 hours a week for 3/4's of the year makes me feel like I made the biggest mistake in the world buying this house. I tried searching for help online, but when I read stuff like "I love putting on headphones and having the time to myself while just focusing on mowing", I just can't relate because the last thing I need is more time with my own thoughts since I'm alone anyways.
I don't even know if my 21" push mower can even do the entire lawn in 1 go or if I would have to separate it into 2 days of mowing. I definitely don't have the extra cash for a riding mower right now either. I hate grass lawns so much, they take so much maintenance for nothing.
Can anyone relate or give some advice on how to quit stressing about it? I can tell myself it's not that big a deal, but I keep thinking about this like it's the end of the world and I can't get it out of my head.
TL;DR Moved and have a huge lawn to take care of. Can't stop dreading about having to spend several hours a week mowing it. Feel like I made a huge mistake. Need help calming down.

2024.05.15 03:38 wunshot2014 Amazing game. Playing Diablo 4's new season really put it in perspective.

You devs have ruined me. I know they're different style games, but I went from NRffW back to Diablo 4's Loot Reborn and I am completely tired of it after 3 hours. I don't want to just run through waves of mobs like a lawn mower. I love having to struggle to beat one mob and really be pressed if there are two or three. Different experiences, but i enjoy your game so much more. Even the sense of exploration in the couple areas I've played is just next level. In short, great freaking job.
Can anyone recommend games more like NRftW to tide me over until more content is developed?

2024.05.15 03:34 datbosnianguy Shed plywood flooring seams

I installed PT plywood flooring in my shed, and between the 6 4x8 boards there’s gaps I’d life to fill since I want to paint the floor to make it easier to clean.
Would the appropriate way be to use caulk, wood bondo or wood glue with sawdust ?
I’m not gonna be storing any vehicles in the shed like atvs , just a large miter saw, pressure washer, table saw, lawn mower etc.
I assume there will be slightly movement in the floor just from walking and pulling things in and out so not sure how bondo or wood filler would do in case of flex in the seams.

2024.05.15 03:17 BB_Captain Where do I get replacement seals for this briggs and stratton carburetor?

Where do I get replacement seals for this briggs and stratton carburetor?
Im trying to learn about small engine repair as a new hobby, so today I picked up a free troy bilt 21" mower with a briggs and stratton 190 cc engine on it. Somewhere along the line the previous owner lost the air filter cover and the air filter, but just kept right on using the lawn mower without them for who knows how long. So as one would expect, the carburetor was a filthy mess inside and out. I took it off and apart and cleaned it, but the original black seal/gasket and the o-ring seal for the bowl are toast.
So where does one go to get these parts? Do smaller local hardware stores, Lowes, or home depot carry these types of parts or is this some stuff I'm probably going to have to order off the internet? If it is something I have to order can you more experienced repair people point me in the direction of where to get the parts?
Thank you in advance!

Started getting an error message the the Right cutting disk wasn’t working. Came home and the lawn looked terrible. Contacted Mammotion and reset per their instructions, which did not fix the issue so I guess it will have to go in for repairs. Less than a year old too. Hopefully their turnaround is quick as I don’t own another mower. Have to hire someone in the mean time.

2024.05.15 03:07 iamfuturetrunks Tree sticky pod removal question

So it's that time of year again where the trees drop a bunch of sticky/sap pods that land all over the yard and thus stick to your feet/shoes when walking around.
Wondering if anyone has figure out any good ways to easily remove them quickly and easily? A relative of mine uses their lawn mower but even scalping the lawn doesn't always get them all, and also seems like after they do it, the next week more land down from the trees. The dogs get them on their feet and in their fur which is then a pain to remove.
Wondering if anyone knows of ways to remove them after they have fallen onto the ground.

2024.05.15 01:49 aoppie White / grey spots in lawn

White / grey spots in lawn
I recently moved in a house and never really had a great yard, it was mostly dirt and weeds. Last summer I decided to do a small renovation to my backyard ((~1000sq ft) to see if I could be successful or not before trying it to my front lawn. I ended up being quite successful and was extremely happy with my newly seeded perennial rye grass. (1st photo not a great photo but the grass came in very dense and green, October 2023).
Fast forward to this spring. We had quite a mild winter here in Minnesota. The grass stayed quite green and started growing quick once the soil temperature warmed up. I love the short look of perennial rye grass so I typically mow at 1.5” usually twice a week. Around 2 to 3 weeks ago I started noticing white spots / discoloration in certain spots of my yard. Upon further inspection it appears that the tops of the grass is very frayed. I immediately assumed I needed to sharpen my mower blades and did so accordingly and sharpened the blade using a metal file (I also did this last fall before I started cutting my new grass and had no issues). The first mow after the newly sharpened blade and I noticed the same issue.
I’m at quite a loss of what this could be. I did use some tenacity about a month to month and half ago, but I don’t think it’s from that. Some of the grass blades that this is happening to appear to be quite thick and stocky (maybe even weed like?). Which brought me to maybe think that this is just caused from the perennial rye grass trying to seed. I have read rye grass can get quite “stocky” in the spring time. Like I said my mower blades are sharpened and I go slow when cutting. Are these grass blades actually weeds that just don’t cut easily?
Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!

2024.05.14 23:59 gzpp The rain just made my day, just as I was starting to mow!

So EVERY time I mow, my neighbor comes out and mows an hour later. That's great, way better than the alternative of a neighbor that doesn't keep their house up at all right?
But, it gets on my nerves because it seems like I have to provide the cue for him to get started, or he's afraid he's going to fall behind somehow.
Both our lawns are immaculate, neither of us are in any danger of looking scraggly if we miss a day. He just mows one hour after I mow.
Anyway, rain forecasted for the next 2 days, might as well get a mow in.
Just as I start, rain starts falling. I've got a big boy mower, rain isn't going to stop it, and it isn't going to stop me. I sent the kids inside, put a hat on and did my lawn.
Sure as shit though, neighbor isn't going to start mowing one hour after me today.
Happy tuesday.
Tell you hwat.
