Palmtree Panic Past mix having many listenings on spotify
Hi everyone,
Is there any reason why Palmtree Panic past mix got that many listenings on spotify ?
I'm intrigued... not because of the song itself, but because it's from an old game, and it's competing with lyrical songs from Sonic Frontiers which released recently

2024.05.17 13:54 IntroductionFuzzy503 Dates

My partner and I don't really go out for dinner. We normally stay at his and he cooks nice dinners for us. But we travel almost always. Either museums, camping, etc... since about 2 weeks into dating (it's been a few months.) We were also good platonic friends for a few months before we started dating (which now I see what our version of the talking stage lol) and didn't really go out 1 on 1 for drinks. And we never traveled until dating.
We have gone to dinner 1 time to a pretty pricy place. Most of our travel is alone when it comes to further away. But sometimes his friends tag along when more local. Even with them there we are alone together all but for breakfast/dinner. We will eat as a group (normally 4-5 of us total)
Is this normal? I'm perfectly fine with it, but sometimes I'd like to go out, even somewhere cheap instead of travel.
We are both pretty introverted but do love to see the world. I don't have really any friends, so that's why it's normally his buds that occasionally join us or we hang out with.
I just know some people tall about how you should be doing dates frequently but he's in his late 30s and I'm in my late 20s so we're okay with what we have and don't seem to be pushed to have the "normal" dates everyone else talks about.

2024.05.17 13:54 Mysterious-Collector Hawks draft/off season scenario: W or L?

I'm interested to hear your thoughts primarily on the draft results in this scenario. This isn't a tankathon season, but definitely an accelerated rebuild. Trae's actual value is difficult to gauge, and most people in ATL overvalue him. So, for the hypothetical, let's assume the trade is solid and we are moving forward without Trae.
Trade:
HAWKS-Young, CC, 2028 2nd (CC is salary filler)
FOR SPURS- Keldon Johnson, Zach Collins, 2024 1RD (4th), 2025 1RD (Hawks); 2026 1RD pick swap (hawks), 2027 1RD
Draft: Sarr (1), Topic (4) Lineup: Move DJ to 1; DJ/Bog start in the backcourt, with Bufkin/Topic in rotation, situational. We keep Hunter. Frontcourt is the primary rotation of JJ/HunteOO/Sarr.
Outcome: Roll with this crew, and let DJ take the reigns. We'll be bad, and that's good with some good draft capital in '25. I'm cool with keeping DJ through his contract, or we could unload him at the deadline if we really want to just completely tank and Topic looks like he's legit...but he gives us a little star relevancy. Team can begin marketing Sarr for media purposes.
Would you take Topic at 4 or a wing?

2024.05.17 13:54 plantontable Juicing limes experiment

Hello, just sharing my findings.
Machine>hand press for prepping.
Tl;dr even a big, metal juicing machine produces 10% more lime juice than using a hand juicer with no noticable difference in taste from a hand press. Juicing by a plastic hand juicer is about 1/4 times faster.
Longer: Did a bucket(didnt write down the weight, but they were the same) of limes each from the same delivery batch. Am a male (strength matters with hand press).
Juicing limes by hand took 4:40minutes, including washing and straining. Produced 1.040g of lime juice
Juicing by mashine took 6:05 WITHOUT washing the machine. Produced 1.150g of lime juice.
Gave a blind test of 4 different cups to colleagues of 1:5 lime juice to water with water as pallet cleanser. Asked which one tasted better, would be better in a cocktail and if there is any discernable difference. Nobody guessed which one was which. (People with experience, but not "connoisseurs"). Nobody found a discernable difference.
One had an assumption that the machine makes the lime juice taste bitter and metallic. (Same as me). It was false.

2024.05.17 13:54 BKadillac Welcome Guide to the Occupy Silicon Valley Protest

post was originally made January 16th, 2029
Welcome to Occupy Silicon Valley!
Welcome to the Occupy Silicon Valley subreddit! This is your digital gathering place for all discussions, ideas, and actions aimed at curbing the overreach of Big Tech and advocating for a future where technology serves the people, not the other way around. Our movement began in 2029 in response to the increasingly alarming influence of tech giants over our lives and societies. We are a collective of concerned citizens, tech industry workers, activists, and anyone who believes that the unchecked power of Big Tech is a threat to our society. This guide is intended to introduce you to our cause, outline our core demands, and provide you with the resources and information you need to get involved. We are united by our desire to reclaim our digital rights, restore our privacy, and ensure that technology enhances, rather than undermines, our human values and freedoms.
Our Mission
Occupy Silicon Valley aims to challenge and dismantle the dominance of tech giants and promote a vision of technology that serves the public good. We believe in a future where technology enhances human well-being, respects privacy, and fosters ethical innovation. Below are our ten key demands that form the foundation of our movement:
Our 10 Demands
Through a democratic voting process within our community, we have established ten core demands that encapsulate our mission and vision for a fairer, more equitable digital future:
1. Reverse Trump Era Policing Laws:
Our primary demand is the reversal of the draconian laws passed by the former Trump administration in 2025. These laws have significantly eroded data privacy and transformed the United States into a surveillance state, prioritizing the interests of Silicon Valley's Big Tech companies over the rights and freedoms of citizens.
2. Universal Right to Privacy:
We demand the enactment of stringent digital privacy laws that guarantee the right to personal data privacy for all citizens. Everyone should have control over their personal information and how it is used.
3. Ban on Surveillance Capitalism:
We call for the outlawing of business models that rely on the collection and sale of personal data. Companies like Google and Meta should not profit from the exploitation of our personal information.
4. Break Up Big Tech:
We advocate for the enforcement of antitrust laws to dismantle tech giants into smaller, independent entities. This will ensure fair competition and prevent monopolistic practices that stifle innovation and exploit consumers.
5. Public Accountability Mechanisms:
It is imperative to establish independent bodies to hold tech companies accountable for ethical violations and misconduct, especially given the recent scandals involving private data leaks in the public school system. These bodies should have the authority to investigate and penalize unethical practices in the tech industry.
6. Ethical AI Standards:
We demand mandatory ethical standards and oversight for all AI development. Severe penalties should be imposed for violations to prevent misuse of AI technologies that can harm individuals and society.
7. Job Protection Policies:
Legislation is needed to protect jobs threatened by AI and automation. This includes implementing paid retraining programs for displaced workers to ensure they can transition to new employment opportunities.
8. Public Health Campaigns:
We advocate for government-funded initiatives to raise awareness about the mental and physical health impacts of excessive screen time and pod time. Policies should encourage or even mandate digital detox periods in schools and workplaces. Additionally, long-term health impact studies should be mandatory for new technologies before they are widely adopted.
9. Tech Transparency:
Tech companies must provide mandatory transparency reports detailing their data practices, AI algorithms, and content moderation policies. This will help ensure that these companies operate with accountability and integrity.
10. Tech for Public Good:
We support incentives for developing technologies that address societal challenges such as healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability. Technology development should prioritize human well-being and social good over profit.
Getting Involved
Your involvement is crucial to the success of our movement. Here’s how you can participate:
Community Guidelines
To maintain a constructive and respectful environment, please adhere to the following guidelines:
-Verify Information: Ensure that any information you share is accurate and from reliable sources.
Thank you for being a part of Occupy Silicon Valley. Together, we can create a future where technology serves humanity, respects our rights, and enhances our lives. Let's reclaim our digital world!

2024.05.17 13:53 Intelligent_Joke_867 It's hard for me to find passionate and love in my relationship. Should i (20F) leave my boyfriend(22F), or should i try to work out on it?

We met in the uni and despite we are not studying in the same class, we have a same group of friends, so that's how we met and fall in love to each other. ( that's also a consideration for me to ask for a breakup because we have a same group of friend and it probably will be hard for us to hangout with our friends after our breakup)
The reason i don't feel love anymore in our relationships:
  1. He is a normal guy, before he met me, he likes to play computer games, coding and read manga, quite a boring guy for me. I like to socialize with people and hangout with friends, participating in uni activities, so actually im always the one who bring him to meet my friends and socialize, i feel like he dont have his own social circle and never bring me to his friend at all.
2.he is just too boring, im always the one who keep non-stop talking in our relationships, im a talkative person but sometimes when im not in a mood to talk or something i just hope that he could be the one that can at least lead the atmosphere for a bit, or at least think of a topic
  1. im always the one who plan for our dates. i told him im abit annoyed by this before, he tried it once , but screwed up our dates, and kinda disappointed me deep inside my mind but i still keep it in my heart and try to comfort and encourage him, but since that he gave up on planning our dates
  2. he cant provide me any emotional support, and even will give me negative effects sometimes due to his negativities and low self-esteem. I need to get positive energy when i hangout with my friends, and when im with him too long, i feel like im drained.
5.he cant even do anything when im sick, which disappointed me the most. His body his bit weak, which im acceptable to it, and when he's sick, i'll always do my best like walk to a pharmacy 1km far away to buy medicines for him, buy food for him, help him massage, etc but when the ridiculous part is when im sick his only respond is just im uncomfortable too/ rest well babe, im really pissed of his attitude
  1. NO CHANGES. I already told him all the things im annoyed above, his excuses is always he tried already, but he's just dumb or born to be a boring person, but i really don't see his changes at all
  2. The most ridiculous part is : he talked to me about his ex. this is literally a red flag for me. im a person who never been in a relationships, he is my FIRST, so his ex is always been a torn in my heart and i know i will be uncomfortable with it so i never ask about the details when they were dating, but one random day, he just talked to me about the details when they were dating , this makes me so uncomfortable
8.HE LIED. after the no7, i confronted him one day and told him im damn uncomfortable after he told me about the story. he then told me that actually the whole story is kinda made up, he never actually really dated the girl before, they are more like in a situationship that time. That makes me feel so weird.
  1. THE LAST. He still following the girl's social media, which makes me feel so confused. but the weird part is he blocked the girl and just only he can see the girl status, this makes me feel weird, and im gonna tell him ASAP. the saddest part is his mom and the gurl even still following each other....
WHAT SHOULD I DOOOO GUYSSSS....

2024.05.17 13:53 dentistmancometeach Optimal Oral Hygiene: Floss vs. Pick

Maintaining optimal oral hygiene is essential for overall health, as poor oral hygiene can lead to various dental problems, such as cavities, gum disease, and bad breath. Two of the most commonly recommended tools for interdental cleaning are dental floss and interdental picks. While both are effective in their own right, each has distinct advantages and disadvantages. This essay delves into the comparative analysis of flossing and using interdental picks to determine which is superior for achieving optimal oral hygiene.

Dental Floss: The Traditional Choice

Dental floss has been a staple in oral hygiene for decades. It consists of a thin, flexible strand of nylon or Teflon that can be inserted between the teeth to remove plaque and food particles.

Advantages of Flossing

  1. Effectiveness: Flossing is highly effective at removing debris from tight spaces between the teeth that toothbrushes cannot reach. This is crucial for preventing plaque buildup, which can lead to tooth decay and gum disease.
  2. Versatility: Dental floss can be used between any two teeth, regardless of their position or the spacing between them. This versatility makes it an excellent choice for individuals with varying dental structures.
  3. Comprehensive Cleaning: Flossing can effectively clean the entire interdental area, including the sides of the teeth and just below the gumline, where plaque tends to accumulate.
  4. Cost-Effective: Dental floss is generally inexpensive and widely available. It is a cost-effective solution for maintaining oral hygiene on a daily basis.

Disadvantages of Flossing

  1. Technique Sensitivity: Effective flossing requires proper technique. Incorrect flossing can lead to ineffective cleaning or even cause injury to the gums. Many individuals find flossing difficult to master and may not use it correctly.
  2. Time-Consuming: Flossing can be time-consuming, especially for individuals with braces, bridges, or other dental appliances. This can discourage people from flossing regularly.
  3. Dexterity Issues: People with limited dexterity, such as the elderly or those with arthritis, may find it challenging to maneuver dental floss properly.
  4. Discomfort: Some individuals find flossing uncomfortable or painful, particularly if they have sensitive gums or teeth.

Interdental Picks: The Modern Alternative

Interdental picks, also known as dental picks or interproximal brushes, are small, brush-like tools designed to clean between the teeth. They come in various sizes and shapes to accommodate different interdental spaces.

Advantages of Interdental Picks

  1. Ease of Use: Interdental picks are generally easier to use than dental floss, especially for individuals with limited dexterity. The brush-like design allows for easy insertion and manipulation between the teeth.
  2. Comfort: Many people find interdental picks more comfortable to use than floss. The soft bristles can be less abrasive on the gums and more pleasant to use.
  3. Effectiveness for Wider Spaces: For individuals with larger gaps between their teeth or those with periodontal disease that has caused gum recession, interdental picks can be more effective than floss. The brushes can cover a larger surface area and remove debris more efficiently.
  4. Convenience: Interdental picks are convenient for on-the-go cleaning. They are portable and can be used without the need for a mirror or precise technique.

Disadvantages of Interdental Picks

  1. Not Suitable for Tight Spaces: Interdental picks may not be effective for very tight spaces between the teeth. They can sometimes be too bulky to fit into narrow gaps, which limits their utility for individuals with closely spaced teeth.
  2. Cost: High-quality interdental picks can be more expensive than dental floss. Additionally, they may need to be replaced more frequently, which can add to the cost over time.
  3. Limited Reach: While interdental picks are effective for cleaning the sides of the teeth, they may not reach as far below the gumline as dental floss can. This could leave some plaque and debris in hard-to-reach areas.
  4. Technique Sensitivity: Despite being easier to use than floss, improper use of interdental picks can still cause gum damage or fail to remove plaque effectively.

Comparative Analysis

To determine which tool is better for optimal oral hygiene, it is essential to consider various factors, including effectiveness, ease of use, comfort, cost, and individual dental needs.

Effectiveness

Both dental floss and interdental picks are effective at removing plaque and food particles from between the teeth. However, the effectiveness of each tool can vary depending on the individual's dental structure. For tight spaces, dental floss is generally more effective, as it can reach areas that interdental picks cannot. Conversely, for individuals with larger interdental spaces or gum recession, interdental picks may be more effective due to their ability to clean a larger surface area.

Ease of Use

Ease of use is a significant factor in maintaining consistent oral hygiene habits. Interdental picks are generally easier to use, especially for individuals with limited dexterity or those who find flossing challenging. The ease of insertion and manipulation of interdental picks makes them a more user-friendly option for many people.

Comfort

Comfort is another important consideration. Many individuals find interdental picks more comfortable to use than dental floss. The soft bristles of the picks can be gentler on the gums, reducing the discomfort associated with flossing. However, individuals with very tight spaces between their teeth may still find flossing more comfortable, as interdental picks may be too bulky.

Cost

Cost can be a determining factor for many people. Dental floss is generally less expensive than interdental picks, making it a more cost-effective option for daily use. However, the convenience and comfort of interdental picks may justify the higher cost for some individuals.

Individual Dental Needs

Ultimately, the choice between dental floss and interdental picks may come down to individual dental needs. People with tight interdental spaces, braces, or dental bridges may find flossing more effective. On the other hand, individuals with larger gaps between their teeth, gum recession, or limited dexterity may benefit more from using interdental picks.

Professional Recommendations

Dental professionals typically recommend a combination of tools for optimal oral hygiene. The American Dental Association (ADA) states that both dental floss and interdental picks can be effective when used correctly. They emphasize the importance of daily interdental cleaning, regardless of the tool used. The key is to find a method that fits the individual's needs and encourages consistent use.
For those unsure about which tool to use, a consultation with a dentist or dental hygienist can provide personalized recommendations. Dental professionals can assess the individual's oral health and recommend the most suitable tools and techniques for maintaining optimal oral hygiene.

Conclusion

Both dental floss and interdental picks have their unique advantages and disadvantages. Dental floss is highly effective for cleaning tight spaces and reaching below the gumline, but it requires proper technique and can be uncomfortable for some individuals. Interdental picks are easier to use, more comfortable, and effective for larger gaps, but they may not reach as deep as floss and can be more expensive.
Ultimately, the choice between floss and pick depends on individual preferences, dental structures, and specific oral health needs. A combination of both tools, along with regular dental check-ups and good brushing habits, is likely the best approach for achieving and maintaining optimal oral hygiene. Consistency is key, and finding a comfortable, effective method that encourages daily use will lead to the best outcomes for oral health.

Starting percentages Deadlift
Because this is a completely concentric movement training in high reps is not needed and emphasis should be placed on set up rather than multiple reps.
Power – 6 sets of 4 at 65% 1RM (maximal speed)
Strength – 6 sets of 2 at 85% 1RM
Week-by-Week Progressions The idea of DUP is to add volume every week. This can be done in one of two ways
When moving across weeks adjust strength days ultimately working up to 4-6 sets of 1-2 reps @ ~95% 1RM for bench and squat. Strength deadlifts should be peaking at 6 sets of 1-2 reps using ~95% 1RM. When moving across hypertrophy days try not to use a percentage higher than 75%. The main goal here is to increase rep ranges training between 8-12 reps. If feeling extremely well the last set of either strength or hypertrophy days can be an AMRAP. Power days should not change much in reps or sets. Focus here should be intent to move weight maximally with maximal speed.

The Accessory Work Accessory work should be tough, and focus on areas that the big lifts don’t hit directly. All optional and depends on time and energy levels. Ideally, it won’t have any negative impact on your strength for the main sessions. This is why keeping everything at around an 8 to 9 out of 10 in terms of intensity, and not pushing to failure is recommended.
