2024.05.17 09:57 PeenooseThaThicc Almost a year as a legal assistant at a large law firm, is every firm like this?

I work at a very large and well known personal injury firm as a legal assistant in pre-litigation for motor vehicle accidents. This has been my experience so far. Every day I am expected to be able to go through my checklist and produce accurate work, but the caveat here is we are glued to a phone system and we work in a team environment so I am taking client calls, adjuster calls, etc. Approximately 30 - 45 calls per day, the only way to avoid this is by calling out aggressively myself leaving my coworkers to take the call backs (I know the number chasers here do this, not a fan of the practice). This makes getting through actual work nearly impossible as I am constantly taken off task to work on other people's cases when I take a call (and i take very detailed notes), and depending on the volume, this can be back to back to back. I have to back track to reorientate myself to what I was previously working on. I have case counts in excess of 160+ on the low end, I mostly work on high priority items that push cases along such as demands and drafting settlement paperwork (these also have unrealistic deadlines in accordance with the call volume), leaving the low priority stuff to the wayside hoping they delegate it to one of the interns
The company on the other hand acts completely indifferent, we will get passive-agressively chastized for missing expected due dates, yet they offer nothing to relieve the pressure from taking so many calls. We have asked for higher pay because everyone is stressed and burnt out (i call it being phone fried) but the company has taken a stance they don't want to pay us more and we have PTO if we're feeling burnt out. They are fairly predatory in their reviews from what I have heard from other employees who have asked for raises. The turnover here is abysmal, my training was cut short due to a number of employees quitting in a short period so they gave me a case load and put me on the phones prematurely (I am a confident speaker so this may have contributed to this as well in addition to the desperation for more phone coverage), I had to either teach myself or ask others for guidance on most things in a trial by fire fashion but I figured it out.
I don't want this to come off as a rant as I love the job itself, I do good work, I am personable and do enjoy talking to my own clients and building a genuine rapport, multiple attorneys are willing to write me letters of recommendation for law school, but I feel as though we operate as an overglorified call center at times when we have genuine important work to do. I knew I was signing up for fast paced, but no day ever has an end goal, everyone is always technically "behind" at all times
I guess my real question here is whether or not this is the standard across all firms, I honestly don't know if I am in a toxic work environment as this is my first job in the legal field so I lack a baseline comparison. It's not all bad, I do like my coworkers and other than pay practices the company culture isn't bad. I would stay until law school next year, but also wouldn't hesitate to jump ship if there is greener grass elsewhere.

2024.05.17 09:45 mmmarkm Did last Saturday’s episode have more green screens than usual?

Finally sat down to watch and it felt like they blew their budget on flying everyone’s moms out, the opening number, and special effects to put a phone in Ben’s throat.
Visually, looked like a bunch of Whose Line sketches…

2024.05.17 09:45 Dontouchmeplss Charged $75 in airtime fees for my old phone number. Unlimited call & text plan.

I changed my phone number on April 2nd.
On the bill for my current phone number, I'm being charged for 2 identical unlimited call and text phone plans.
On the bill for my old phone number, they subtracted the price for the extra plan I was charged for on my current number, but I am being charged for $75 in airtime fees.
I used my old phone number for the first 5 days of the billing cycle (March 28th to April 1st). The $75 in airtime fees are coming from every single call I received and made on April 1st.
Is this normal? I did not expect to be charged for calls on my old phone number when I am still paying for my unlimited plan.

2024.05.17 09:43 LoveKilledKobain Happened to Me Tonight - Want to Make More Aware

In a foolish bout of lonely horniness, I convinced myself to go on Roulette.chat (do not visit this website) - I came across a girl, she waved, I waved back and then she showed me her cleavage and I reciprocated with my penis. "She" then tried to move the conversation to FaceTime to which I declined and clicked out of the window.
About 10 minutes later, I received an imessage from an email with a screen recording of the incident and he threatened to send to my family and "ruin my life". I did not give the guy any information at all and I'm not sure how he found me. I even talked to him on the phone, and he was a sinister sounding Russian man. After sending me a list of contacts he was going to send the video to, he ended up sending the video to my brother and messaging my Mom on IG, as well as texting me her phone number.
I blocked him, shut down all of my socials and changed the passwords on all of my accounts. My brother graciously talked me through the entire situation and convinced me not to pay anything, block the guy and deactivate all my accounts, which was definitely the correct protocol and I'm so thankful for that. I didn't send any money and I haven't been contacted in about 4 hours now.
I am very rattled that this guy was able to find me so quickly after I gave up no information other than my face, and just wanted to make everyone else aware of how little these guys need at this point. I stopped responding, he stopped messaging and then I blocked him and nothing has come of it since. Praying it remains that way, but regardless I'm never sending any money and I'm aware I did nothing wrong or illegal, and that I'm a victim of a crime he perpetrated against me.

Yes, I have downloaded the files twice and at different times to compare if it was just corrupted or not.

No, I do not have Discord. I don't like the idea of giving my phone number.

2024.05.17 09:37 ThrowAwayEnd03 Idieiejejejejh

So I put on my bigboy pants. Woop. I had been getting weird af calls for about 2 weeks. Not telemarketing. weird calls. And I had a new number, phone, telecom, everything. I don't use it for work either. Basically outside of me giving it to someone, nobody was going to have access to it. After everything that happened a few years ago nuh uh was I going to let that happen again. I even did one of those security classes at uni. Take that! c:
Anyway. Weird af phone calls. So im feeling anxious but... sturdy? Secure? Because I made the decision to noticy the police. Just in case.
Well it turns out someone had put my number on some weird af sites or message boards. Whatever the fuck you call them when its not reddit.
And then the police managed to find out through one of the sites an account that linked back to gabby. So she has violated her conditions. The police said they cna ask her how she got the number and let me know. But since I have only given it to less than 10 people I have a good idea. Which is honestly a fucking shame. Who does that?
I dont even share peoples numbers. Ive always had that standard of 'if they wanted you to have it, you'd have it'. And that's me saying that. Me. I forget that we even have phone numbers. Tbf pretty much everything is done on voip stuff now. I used to use fb primarily. Before that, skype. And outside of work, most have discord. And thats just video game skype.
But holy heck. Oh and the police cant really do much about the posts but send a request letting them know its being used to harass, as they're not local domains. So... ick. They can get her to take down some of the posts though whete the site allows deleting. But it should die down in a bit.
So yea. Dont pass go. Wtf though? She coulda just ranted about me somewhere and came up with something to make her the hero of her own story. Im fine with that. She was already doing that in reality. But at least with internet strangers, itd have not bothered me. People whinge, slander, insult, threaten anonymously online all the time. Its not like I ever bothered even doing the basic google of gabs after everything, so I wouldnt have found it. Even if I had, id have left it alone. But here she is putting my number on random boards for shits and giggles... lol. And violating her restrictions. Such a fucking bad trade off.

  1. Visit the Lucky Creek homepage or open the mobile app.
  2. Register if you’re new, or simply log into your existing account.
  3. Tap the yellow “Deposit” button at the top of the screen.

  • Promo Code: 200GETLUCKY
  • Wagering Requirements: 60x bonus

The Lucky Creek bonus terms are straightforward. If you’re already familiar with online casino bonuses, you’ll have no problems getting to grips with this one. There’s a potential $7,500 up for grabs, which is extremely generous. Not to mention the additional 30 free spins to get you off and running.
You can use your bonus funds to play any game outside of the live casino. The minimum deposit amount of $20 is reasonable, and there’s no need for fiddly opt-ins, as the bonus is credited automatically. However, simply must highlight the wagering requirement of 60x your bonus amount, which is definitely on the high side.

Other Lucky Creek Casino Promotions

The number of accessible Lucky Creek casino bonus codes and promotions varies throughout the year. Look out for extra special offers during holidays, though you’ll usually find at least six or seven rewarding bonuses regardless of the date. Here are some of the standout examples.

Lucky Creek Free Spins

The first promotion to note is a Lucky Creek no deposit offer. Take note that this free spins bonus is only valid for the Golden Wolf slot. In addition, you can only withdraw a maximum of $100 worth of winnings from these bonus spins. Regardless, you can secure 55 Lucky Creek free spins with no deposit required, just by using the promo code NODEPOSITB55.
It’s also possible to earn 66 free spins every Monday by depositing regularly at the end of the week. Make six deposits between Thursday and Sunday, or simply fund your account with at least $200 during this time to qualify.

Lucky Creek Free Chips

While there’s no Lucky Creek casino free chip promotion available presently, there are still many other offers to claim. Should a free chips bonus launch at the casino, we’ll hastily update this page.

Lucky Creek Happy Hour

This offer is promoted as a daily Happy Hour. But despite the name, this is actually a period of four hours, from 6am to 10am EDT every day of the week.
If you’ve made a deposit that day, you’ll gain 50 free spins to use during the Happy Hour. Claim these for seven straight days and you’re also eligible for a prize draw. Potential rewards include free spins, free chips and even a gift basket.

Lucky Creek No Deposit Bonus

If you’re seeking a Lucky Creek casino free chip with no deposit necessary, you’re out of luck. Although there is a promo code NODEPOSITB255 advertised, this is actually a deposit match offer. The code is good for a 255% bonus.

Lucky Creek Loyalty Program

Although it’s not strictly a Lucky Creek casino bonus, the loyalty and VIP program is worth mentioning here. By joining the Genesys Club program, you’ll earn reward points at several online casinos, including this one. There are five tiers in all, with various perks on offer the higher you climb.
For instance, on your birthday, there’s a special deposit match reserved for you if you’re at the Newbie and Bronze levels. However, those at Silver, Gold or Platinum will receive a free cash bonus of $75, $150 and $250, respectively. Other rewards include exclusive invitations to tournaments and events, dedicated customer support and weekly deposit match deals.

Lucky Creek Refer a Friend

Unfortunately, there are no Lucky Creek referral codes available to reward you for recruiting your buddies. If that ever changes, you’ll find out here on this page.

Mistakes to Avoid when Claiming a Lucky Creek Bonus

With so many Lucky Creek promo codes to choose from, it’s crucial that you don’t get confused and make a mistake. Here are some top tips to ensure you get the maximum possible value from your bonuses.
1. Failing to deposit the minimum amount
Deposit match offers require you to add a specific amount of money to your account in order to qualify. You might think you’re getting a 300% bonus on your $10 deposit. However, you’ll actually receive nothing if the Ts & Cs set the minimum amount at $20.
2. Choosing an offer for the wrong games
Many bonuses feature conditions that determine which games you can play. Free spins may be restricted to specific slots, for instance. While a deposit match bonus might exclude live dealer games.
3. Watch out for playthrough requirements
Sometimes called “turnover requirements”, or simply “wagering requirements”, you won’t be able to withdraw money until you’ve met these. There’s usually a multiplier specified, such as 35x the bonus amount. In that example, $700 worth of play is required to clear a $20 bonus.
4. Claiming multiple bonuses
Unfortunately, you can’t juggle several Lucky Creek bonus codes at once. You’re only allowed to claim one welcome bonus, naturally. But if you’re still in the process of clearing the wagering requirements on a bonus, you can’t activate a second promo code.
5. Not depositing enough money
Lucky Creek has a high minimum withdrawal limit of $100. If you deposit a small amount, claim a bonus, clear the requirements and finish with less than $100, you can’t actually withdraw your winnings.
6. Overlooking expiration dates
In most cases, you’ll only have a fixed amount of time in which to meet the wagering requirements of a bonus. What’s more, when you do succeed, the bonus credits awarded may expire in as little as seven days.

Fill in the Registration Form
Next, you’ll need to fill in a number of basic personal details, such as your name, email address and date of birth. However, you won’t have to insert any Lucky Creek bonus codes here, as that comes later. Tap “Create Account” when you’re ready.

Log Into Your New Account
After creating your Lucky Creek casino login credentials, you should automatically be taken into your new account. However, if you’re not logged in automatically, hit the “Log In” button found in the top-right corner and enter your details.

Account Verification

Although you’re free to play without verifying your identity, it’s not possible to request a Lucky Creek casino withdrawal until you do. Luckily, it’s not a difficult thing to achieve and you can perform it at any time, even before you request a payment.
  1. Find a valid identity document, such as a passport, as well as your payment card.
  2. Visit the cashier by hitting the “Deposit” button.
  3. Click the “Verify ID” button towards the far-right of the page.
  4. Tap “Verify Identity” and take a picture with your ID by following the on-screen instructions.
  5. After submitting, click “Verify Card” and repeat the process to validate your payment method.
  6. You may need to wait 24 hours for the Lucky Creek verification process to complete.

Lucky Creek Casino Withdrawal Process: Rating 7/10

Ready to cash out your winnings? You’ll be pleased to learn that the Lucky Creek casino withdrawal process is quite simple. The minimum amount of $100 is a little high compared to other online casinos, but on the flip side, withdrawal times are comparatively fast.
For the most part, you’ll receive a card payment within 48 hours. Crypto transactions are usually wrapped up in a matter of hours. However, while Lucky Creek withdrawals are processed daily, no payments are made on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. As such, a little patience is required at weekends.
Here’s how to request a payout.
  1. Log into your Lucky Creek account.
  2. Visit the cashier page by clicking on the “Deposit” button.
  3. Complete the verification process, if you haven’t already, otherwise you will not receive any funds.
  4. Click on “Withdrawal” to initiate a payout.
  5. Choose your desired cash out method and follow the prompts on your screen.
  6. If you request a withdrawal before verifying, you must complete that process within 14 days. If you fail to do so, the money will return to your account.

Lucky Creek Casino: Rating 7/10

In this section of our Lucky Creek review, we’ll analyze the various games on offer.

Games Selection

The Lucky Creek game library consists almost exclusively of slots. There are just under 300 to choose from, supplied by developers like BetSoft, Rival, Saucify and Genii. It’s not the biggest collection, admittedly, but there’s a broad enough selection of themes to keep most slots fans satisfied.
While the games here are taken from some respectable software companies, none of the real industry giants are present. Don’t expect to play slots from the likes of Pragmatic Play, NetEnt or Play’n GO, for instance.
If classic table games are more your thing, there’s a small collection of nine RNG titles to choose from. Unfortunately, these are all variations of roulette and blackjack, so it’s not possible to play craps or any form of casino poker. However, there are a dozen keno and video poker titles to enjoy.

Live Casino

There is also a simple live casino on offer at Lucky Creek, with a total of eleven games to choose from. In addition to various forms of blackjack and roulette, you can also play baccarat here.
Although it’s not the most expansive live dealer casino you’ll come across, the games are of the highest quality. They’re provided by Evolution, widely-regarded as the number one supplier of live casino games in the world. Expect charming and professional hosts, along with reliable streams in high definition.
Don’t forget that you’re not allowed to use Lucky Creek bonus codes to play live dealer games.

Casino Features

Lucky Creek is one of the most simple online casinos around. You could argue that “less is more” but we’d still prefer to see the addition of a few key features. It’s not possible to play games in demonstration mode, for example. That is always a great way to familiarize yourself with the rules of a new game.
Although there is a search facility, accessible by clicking the “Open Filters” button, there are no quick links. The ability to easily view titles from a specific provider, or games with certain features, would greatly improve the casino’s design.
As it stands, you can only drill down into the different types of game, i.e. slots, table games, poker or “other”. When the overwhelming majority of the game library is made up of slots, filtering by “slots” doesn’t feel especially useful.

Lucky Creek Poker: N/A

Lucky Creek is a trusted online casino, however its poker selection is too limited to warrant a fair evaluation. While it offers a handful of video poker titles, you cannot play games like Texas Hold’em or Omaha in tournaments or cash games.
We hope that Lucky Creek expands its poker category in the future, and when it does, you can expect to find a thorough review here.

Lucky Creek Sportsbook: N/A

Lucky Creek is just an online casino, meaning there is no sportsbook available. Should the situation change in future, we’ll be the first to update you.

Lucky Creek Payment Methods: Rating 8/10

There aren’t as many payment methods at Lucky Creek compared to the best gambling sites, but the needs of most players will be met. Crypto deposits and withdrawals are a very welcome addition, even if there are no eWallet options.
Payment Method Deposits Withdrawals Fees Payout Speed
Visa None Up to 5 days
Mastercard None Up to 5 days
Bitcoin None Same day
Money Transfers N/A N/A
Wire Transfers N/A N/A
Cheques N/A N/A
ACH Transfer N/A N/A

Lucky Creek Design and User Interface: Rating 7/10

It’s fair to say that Lucky Creek isn’t the prettiest of casinos, with its predominantly brown color scheme. It’s a simple but fairly effective design, which is identical on both mobile and desktop, ensuring seamless transitions between devices.

Desktop Experience

Everything you need to steer your way around the site is found in a classic navigation menu on the left-hand side of the page. A few additional options, including information about responsible gambling, can be found by scrolling to the site’s footer. Overall, the site functions adequately to appease users.

Mobile Experience

Whether you’re using the mobile site in your browser, or mobile-based casino apps, the design is indistinguishable. This applies to both the overall look-and-feel, as well as the practical aspects like the registration and withdrawal processes.

Lucky Creek Customer Support: Rating 9/10

In the unlikely event of a problem, getting in touch with the customer support team is a doodle. There are three accessible channels, all of which are staffed 24/7, and you’ll find the agents really pleasant to deal with.
We reached out via live chat and asked several questions, including some about the terms and conditions of the Lucky Creek no deposit bonus. All of our queries were resolved promptly and the support agent was extremely friendly.

Lucky Creek Licensing & Responsible Gambling: Rating 9/10

Like many respectable online gambling companies based offshore, Lucky Creek has a license from the Curaçao Gaming Control Board. As such, you can rest assured that a trusted regulator is observing the business, ensuring that it’s carrying out industry best practices.
This means your funds are safe, the games are fair and there are several responsible gambling tools available if you require them. These are as follows:
  • Daily deposit limits
  • Monthly deposit limits
  • Self-exclusion

2024.05.17 09:31 Glittering-Text4407 Zoom Shock

I'm using a throwaway account- don't want this connected to my main. I teach online with synchronous sessions on zoom. Yesterday during the zoom session of my seminar, a student suddenly collapsed. It took a moment for me to realize what was happening. And then it took way too many more minutes to search the LMS for the student's address, then frantically google emergency services where the student lives (hundreds of miles from the school)) call the department I thought covered that town, get told by dispatch that this was not their jurisdiction, and try three more phone numbers (with other students on the zoom crowdsourcing leads) before I finally got the right department in the right county to send a rescue squad to the student's address. I did first try to call the school to get emergency contact information for the student but no one answers the office landlines and anyway, students are not required to provide an emergency contact- it's voluntary. I'm still deeply shaken, and especially upset by how long it took to get help to that student.
My question to you is this: does your school have any policy or guidance for faculty faced with responding to this kind of live but online emergency? We have procedures for campus emergencies, but we have no procedure when the emergency is happening right in front of our eyes but the person in danger is halfway across the country. Does your school have an effective procedure for responding to emergencies like this? Do you have any advice for creating such guidance for faculty? 2024.05.17 09:26 Aggravating-Win-757 Foodora method, how

My rich friend has a method how to order on foodora with 75% off, it is true but only works for new users. You need to register with your phone number to get the voucher. But I dont have many phone numbers to tegister with. He say he needs a pc to do his method, he uses the same phone number every time he registers and still gets the voucher code (he makes a new account everytine with the same number). He said he needs a pc to do this and it would be safer if he used a vpn, but he doesnt use it. It isnt a sms receiver and he doesnt pay for anything. Just the same number everytine but still getting the new user perks. How tf does he do this?

2024.05.17 09:24 Evening_Ad1000 My SO is visiting me in the US and she is worried about getting denied over her itinerary and accommodation.

I am a US citizen and my SO will be staying with me and my family at our house. We will just generally be spending time together and with my family.
She is a legal resident of a EU nation, but she is a citizen of a asian nation that is not part of the Visa Waiver Program so she must fill out a DS-160.
She is worried that because she does not have hotel receipts and a full itinerary of what she will be doing every day that she will get denied and then get a mark on her record. It seems that when she traveled to the UK she followed a guide online and made a very extensive itinerary. From my research, it seems that some european countries require this kind of itinerary, but from what I've read this isn't that case for the US, with many just listing the dates they will visit and the address of where they plan to stay.
She is so worried about it that she is thinking of paying for hotel stays just so she can have official documents to prove that she has somewhere to stay, and I think she is planning to create a plan for every day to fill out the itinerary as well.
I told her that if she lists our names and phone numbers (and specifically, she has listed me as a contact in the DS-160), that if they want to confirm anything they will call. But I'm not sure of course, I've never had to go through this process myself.
As a side note, I am planning to visit her country shortly after her visit to mine. Would including documentation for my tickets help prove that she isn't going to overstay in the US (because I will be visiting her)?

2024.05.17 09:18 Hot_Bill_2238 Smart home WiFi 5g problems problems problems

Hey, no we don't have cable here where I live and the best I can get is the smart home WiFi.
I have quite good signal, the router being on 2nd floor window, 5g 94%. We have a tower a bit away from our house.
Problems in the past 4 months was 5g suddenly disappearing (just 4G available) but not only the router, also our smart simcards lost 5g that time. Same happens with a brownout, during brownout we get only 4G, must be a problem with the signal tower having no power backup for 5g.
Now for a very specific problem:
Every day around 2.20-2.30pm the router loses 4G and 5G. I have to restart the router during the next 30-40 Minutes several times, then it works stable all night and following morning. Same time next day, same problem. This is ongoing since 3 weeks now.
I have 4 case numbers, hear the same "we are very sorry, rest assured your problem will be solved" every day. Then I get smart calls every day asking me the same Information about location, name, number, problem every day, I blocked smart now on my phone. Occasionally I get the "there is a misalignment in the sim card" bullocks.
This is a very specific problem since I got the exact time the signal goes away and usually after restart I get signal again. Its also no power cycle problem since the router doesn't restart from alone but just signal is gone suddenly.
Any ideas?

2024.05.17 09:13 ScopedFlipFlop Did Google just kill phone scamming?

In their demo, they demonstrated how Gemini (I think - I was a bit lost by this point in all the corporate fluff) can be used to passively "moderate" phone calls and alert you if it detects any of the strategies used by scammers.
Obviously, only time will tell, but if this gets widely adopted, scamming might just become virtually impossible!
You could even have some sort of database, where the phone numbers of likely scammers are stored, so the most frequent ones can be investigated.
AI has two sides - yes, it may contribute to scams, but if it can detect scams so easily then it should be ultimately beneficial!

2024.05.17 09:10 Livid-Recognition-27 Potential landlord wants me to provide a German phone number for phone calls and WhatsApp communication. How can I get that?

I want to move to Germany for a job and finally found a landlord willing to work with me. But he wants me to give him a German number, he won't accept a foreign number as calls are too expensive he says. But he also wants me to be reachable over WhatsApp with the same number. There are about a million different apps that offer you German phone numbers, but none of them work for WhatsApp. I told him that, but he said he'll just find someone else if I can't make it work. What do I do? How can I get a fully functional German phone number?

2024.05.17 09:06 FastThink Is there a solution to real estate agents spam ?

Hello,
I receive between 6 to 12 calls and whatsapp spam per day since I purchased real estate in Dubai. Reporting them to RERA didn’t change anything. I’m unable to answer my phone anymore and some delivery drivers and other handymen’s get upset when I don’t pickup my phone. I don’t answer unknown numbers anymore. These spam calls have been disruptive.
I also receive calls from the central bank, police and generals… but that’s another problem.
I use Virgin which doesn’t have voicemail, I was with DU before and couldn’t set up the voicemail even with the support help.
Basically I want to auto refuse all calls and send an automated message to the caller asking them to contact me by other means like whatsapp first.
Changing phone numbers is not a good option as I use this number for everything from banking to UAE Pass, utilities, etc. Changing my number everywhere would end up with the same result anyway.
I think someone must launch a company to fight these spams and scammers in UAE. I would totally pay for the service.

2024.05.17 09:01 Superb-Thought1687 Finally found an old friend of mine

I did a person search on truthfinder and I was able to find my old best friend's current phone number, her husband answered the first time around and said that he'd let her know that I called ( he didn't) and then I messaged her and she was very happy to hear from me, turns out that she and her husband have had 3 kids, ( a boy and a pair of twins, both girls) i was surprised but very happy to hear that she is very much alive and happy..
She broke away from her family due to highly abusive tendencies of her dad and stepmom, and I can partly relate as my stepfather was a nightmare for me...
Hearing from her was a major relief because a really long time ago I had a nightmare where she died...
I couldn't possibly be happier to know that she's ok
