Today I was taking a shower and my brother fell, he immediately ran to my parents and said I hurt my self. He wasn’t actually hurt. He wasn’t. He wanted attention from my parents and he pretended to be hurt because they were ignoring him. Even telling him to just get out and go away. So yes the five year old pretended. My dad being the sick pos he is noticed this and berated him for it. “Your faking it” “he isn’t actually hurt don’t baby him” when my mom finally gave him some attention. I get out the shower it’s eight o’clock, my dad says my brother needs to do some abc mouse. They’ve been half assing a home school scenario for my brother thinking he’ll turn out better than me. That they can control more of what he sees and hears. So at 8pm he forces him to do spelling and every time he fucks up it’s “what are you doing man?!” “You know this!” “I guess you don’t want your tablet tomorrow” he’s tired?? I say nothing. I bite my tongue. I got get dressed and he’s still going. Just belittling him for everything. “Of course you didn’t finish your food” “why do I even waste my time” “you’re just a time waster”. I say nothing. My brother naive asks my dad how do I not be a time waster? My dad says “by not being lazy” I broke. I say that’s horrible advice, and I fucked up I know. It was on after that. Every disrespectful things he could’ve thrown at me was tossed. “You deserved to be choked” “I’d do it again” “when you have your own kids then you can parent them how you want” (I can’t have children because of them, they know this). So I say enough and I get my dinner and go to my room. Five minutes he controlled himself and then he yelled at me through the door in the pitch black. Busts my door open and starts pointing his finger in my face. I saw a post about what narc rage is like and they described it as a Doberman barking at you, showing their teeth, and jumping. They haven’t attacked you YET, they might not even but the threat is real. My mom starts defending my dad when I told her I didn’t want to talk. Talking is just me listening to her talk and defend why my dad is justified in his behavior. How do I prevent my self from getting so triggered? How do I just let him abuse my brother in the same way that has affected me so detrimentally? I feel like as long as I witness this I can’t let it go. My brother needs to know someone knows right from wrong. That my dad is not the only example he has. That he’s not even a good one. I’ll be working two jobs soon but it’ll be around 5 months before I can afford the expenses of living alone.

When he first started the program we met up with someone from craigslist and bought this model shown in pictures. I can’t find any information on it, but it measures 29 inches from edge to edge. He bought a smaller tablet for around $300 earlier this year, but he returned it because he said the features were nowhere near the one pictured. The one he has is obviously way too bulky to travel with, which is why I was initially considering an iPad Pro for the portability, but that is just my preference. However, when I tried to sneak some information from him, it seems that he prefers the Wacom as he is more familiar with illustrator? and Photoshop than an iPad.  | Annapurna Base Camp trek is a classic trek that brought Nepal into the world map of trekking tourism traversing to the maximum elevation of 4130m of Annapurna Base Camp with the panaromic views of Annapurna range, Gangapurna and the iconic Fishtail 'Machhapuchre' mountain of the region. I hope this post would answer the questions about this trek and helps on your planning for this beautiful adventure. submitted by Prudent-Quit7462 to u/Prudent-Quit7462 [link] [comments] Required no of days and general itinerary ABC Trek can be generally completed in 7 days starting from Pokhara and back to Pokhara. While many agencies start from the village of Jhinu, I personally recommend starting from Ghandruk and finishing at Jhinu. The general itinerary that accounts for safe acclimitization and elevation gain is below: Day 1 - Pokhara to Ghandruk (On Jeep) and sightsee around old Ghandruk village, cultural museum and watch the beautiful sunset from Ghandruk. Day 2 - Ghandruk to Chhomrong (Recommended hotel is Kalpana Guest House or Mountain View Lodge) Day 3 - Chhomrong to Dovan via Sinuwa and Bamboo. You can have your lunch at Bamboo. The first part of trail from Chhomrong to Sinuwa seems like a never ending section of staircase. The trail calms down after Upper Sinuwa and slowly, makes it through the beautiful forest trails laiden with Himalayan Birch, Himalayan Bamboo, Nepalese Alder, Needlewood trees, etc listening to the beautiful sounds of Modi Khola and Cuckoo birds singing. Day 4 - Dovan to Deurali The iconic waterfall across the Deurali Temple prior to the lunch spot of Himalaya is recommended. Be sure to go through Himalaya Cafe and Lodge for an iconic experience of Pizza and freshly brewed coffee to reach Deurali and enjoy the wonderful views of the landscape and glimpses of Fishtail mountain. Day 5 - Deurali to Machapuchre Base Camp OR Annapurna Base Camp Since the elevation of Deurali is at 3300m, ideally it would make sense to go to Machapuchre Base Camp at an elevation of 3700m and stay for the night, heading onto ABC early morning at around 4 am to watch the beautiful sunrise and be back. However, if you are confident regarding your physical adaptibility and management of Altitude Sickness, you may choose to go to Annapurna Base Camp and soak in one of the most beautiful sunset and sunrise from the fabled Annapurna Base Camp Day 6 - Annapurna Base Camp to Lower Sinuwa As you finish watching the sunrise, its time for the journey towards Sinuwa. Today is going to the longest day of the trek where you can roughly trek for about 22kms, where the 90 percent of the journey would be going downhill. This day can be demanding if you have knee issues. If Sinuwa seems to be too far, you can stay at Bamboo or Upper Sinuwa. Day 7- Sinuwa to Jhinu and Hot Water Springs to Jhinu and Jeep back to Pokhara This is the final day of the trek and hence, you can expect to walk somewhere between 4-5 hours. The section to Chhomrong is definitely an uphill climb. However, the walk from Chomrong to Jhinu mostly comprises of steep downhill. After you reach Jhinu, you can have your lunch, spend some time in the hot springs of Jhinu and trek for additional 30mins while you cross the iconic Jhinu suspension bridge and reach the Jeep point. The jeep would take about 2.5 hours to take you back to Pokhara, marking the end of the trek. Permits and Fees The general ACAP Permit can be obtained from Nepal Tourism Board Office at Kathmandu or Pokhara by paying NRs. 3000 along with the copy of your passport and p.p. size photographs. The permits would be checked in at Birethanti near Nayapool and further checked in at Chhomrong. Please ensure you do not loose the permit as you have to checkout at the respective checkpost while coming back down. Transportation and How to get there Generally, a Private Jeep transfer would take NRs. 7000 (about 48 Euros or 52 USD), which can be shared with atleast 6 passengers for one way trip to Ghandruk taking around 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can go to Baglung Bus Park and hop on a Public Bus or Jeep that takes you to Ghandruk at the price of NRs. 350 or NRs. 750 respectively. Obligated this is a throwaway, I don't want this reaching friends or family. Also, I'm sorry for the length. I didn't know a good way to shorten this without leaving out anything important.
I was directed here upon the advice of a friend, after this issue escalated to a huge argument (approx. 3 hours ago) that resulted in myself leaving our home to go to a buddy's house. I am still here, and unsure how to go about resolving this with my wife.
Myself (28m) and my wife (26m) have been together for 10 years, and married for 4 of those. My wife is pregnant with our first child, a boy, and she is due in early July. Now onto the issue that has arisen.
My wife wants to name our son after her brother, who passed a little over a year ago. Her brother, we'll call him T, was her only sibling and they were very close growing up, as they were only 2 years apart. However, her brother was not the most pleasant person. Her brother was a drug addict starting from age 14-15, he stole from everyone around him including myself and my wife, he was abusive to everyone of his partners and his child, and he served several years behind bars. T was also abusive to my wife, and her parents. He had a stay away order from our home because he broke in while we were away and stole our TV, my wife's jewelry box, and one of my hunting rifles.
T passed last year in April from a drug overdose, and it affected my wife very deeply. It was her first major loss she has suffered, and she still attends therapy to help cope.
When we found out we were having a boy, she immediately wanted the name to be T's name. I heavily disagreed, and I have offered many replacements, other family names like her father or grandfathers, but she will not budge. She wants our son to have the exact same name as her brother, first and middle. She has even gone as far to say that if we name him something else she will have it changed, or only call him by T.
My final straw was when my wife ordered a blanket with T's name sewn into it for our son. I blew up, and I told her I was not naming our child after a drug addict who took advantage of everyone around him. My wife blew up at me, she screamed at me to leave, threatened to call the police if I didn't, she called me a piece of shit for talking about her dead brother like he was trash. I did leave, I told her I would attempt to speak to her again about this once we had both calmed down, and I apologized for speaking about T in a negative way. I'm getting calls nonstop from her family, calling me names for speaking about T and not wanting to honor him by naming our son after him. My family is on my side, her family is on her side, and my friends are split on the matter.
So Reddit, strangers on the internet, I need your opinion on if I am indeed a massive asshole for not wanting this name for our child?
TLDR; wife wants to name son after brother who was a drug addict and serial abuser, I do not. We cannot come to reason with one another, huge argument ensued.

Hello internet humans, not sure if any of you remember my first post a few months back but I just logged on and saw I had a few messages so I figured I would post an update, sorry in advance for the length.
So, if you recall in my first post, me and my wife were expecting a baby boy in early July, and our conflict was occurring over my wife wanting to name our son after her late brother. We got into a huge fight, some names were called and threats were made, and I was led to this subreddit to ask advise and opinions of internet strangers.
Well, a week after the post I sat down with my wife and we had a very long and difficult conversation. She broke down and admitted she was struggling more than she let on with the loss of her brother, and she told me she felt uncomfortable talking to me about it due to my feelings towards him and how he lived his life. I was devastated to say the least, I have never felt like such a horrible partner. I was selfish, I failed to see him as anything more than his mistakes, and I failed to support my wife through his death. It was a long talk with lots of tears, and we both agreed to be more open in the future and less judgmental. We started attending therapy together less than two weeks after that, and we have been going ever since once a week. It was rough at first, but it has helped tremendously in dealing with the bumps in the road of marriage.
As for our son... we came to an agreement on a name after lots of long discussion, a first name we both adored and her brothers middle name, just spelled differently. A good compromise for both of us, and it was my sons own name that no one before him had carried, we were both happy.
Then on July 3rd, 2022, my wife delivered a beautiful, healthy, 8lb baby GIRL! To say that we were shocked would be an understatement. My daughter came home the next day, and since then I am still in awe of how we created something so perfect. We didn't figure out a name until she was a week old, but I am happy to share that Eleanor Shae is what we came up. We are still adjusting to life with an infant, but so far it has been nothing short of amazing.

TLDR; Wife & I made up, went to therapy, found a name that was a compromise and we loved for our son, had a surprise baby girl instead, we are overjoyed.

I am just here to vent my frustrations and scream into the void about my current situation. I can’t talk to anyone in my personal life about this. My wife is cheating on me. My wife is cheating and she has been for the past two months.
I just don’t understand? I don’t even know where to start to begin to understand. We have a beautiful home, stable careers, we’re not financially struggling, no drug or alcohol abuse, we attend therapy together. Our daughter is healthy, perfect. Our 6 year wedding anniversary is 3 months from tomorrow. We’ve been together 11 years. I have spent the last two days examining everything about us under a microscope, trying to find a crack. Where I went wrong, when did she become unhappy, when did this life, OUR LIFE, become unsatisfactory for her?? For her to step outside of our marriage with some random guy she met on facebook?? For her to throw our family away? I just don’t understand.
I found out on Monday, completely by chance. My daughters tablet was dead, I grabbed my wife’s iPad so she could watch her night time videos and go to sleep. Wife isn’t home right now, she’s on a trip and won’t be back for another 4 days. I keep hearing message notifications dinging on her iPad while my daughter has it, so I took it to turn it on silent only to see a mans name I didn’t recognize with a little winky face next to it. I went through EVERYTHING. They’ve done it all, met up, spent the night together, went on dates, they even have a romantic cruise planned for next month! The same cruise she told me was a bachelorette trip with one of her friends. All of these outings that I ENCOURAGED. She told me they were with friends, I encouraged her! I was so proud she was getting out there and becoming more social, since she expressed motherhood made her feel like a recluse. And after digging a little deeper, all of these new “friends” she’s been out with don’t even exist. All lies. They are characters she’s created to continue her relationship with this man.
I feel like a complete and total idiot. I never second guessed a lie she fed me. I gave her my 100% trust. We’ve been doing couples therapy for a year, we communicate, we go on dates, we get each other gifts, our sex life was great, I never not even for a second would have suspected this. I don’t know how to confront her with this, I don’t want this. I don’t want to split up our home. But I know that this isn’t something therapy can fix, I know myself well enough to know I’ll never be able to trust her again. Do I just let go? Let her go be with this man who clearly makes her happier than I can? My entire existence is intertwined with her, how do I even begin to untangle that and separate? I have 4 more days to sit and overthink this. I genuinely don’t know whChina man?

I posted here almost a month ago venting my frustrations about discovering my wife’s affair, and I received a magnitude of comments and messages filled with advice and kind words. For that I thank everyone who took the time to comment or write me, and I’m sorry for anyone who related to my situation. I’m here with somewhat of an update, but mostly more venting. My life is upside down and it feels good to get it all out somewhere. Sorry if a lot of this is rambling, and sorry for the length.
After making my post, I took the advice of everyone and gathered up all evidence and contacted lawyers in my area. I found a really great one and went ahead and started on divorce papers before my wife got home. I also got tested for any STIs, and told my parents/best friend about the situation. I took my daughter to my parents so I could have the alone time to mentally prepare myself to face my wife with this discovery. I rage cleaned a lot, and cried a lot those last two days before she got back. I packed some of her stuff, but then unpacked it and cried more. I had it planned to lay out all the screenshots along with divorce papers on our dining room table and just sit and wait for her, but I didn’t get the chance to do that.
She was supposed to get home later in the afternoon on Sunday, but she ended up getting back around 6:30 that morning, she didn’t call or text in hopes of surprising me. I was up drinking coffee, and you guessed it, crying, when she walked into the house. I didn’t greet her, I just went and got the folders of evidence and divorce papers and gave them to her. I don’t remember anything she said that day, but I just said I knew, I wanted a divorce, and I would keep the house as it was in my name solely. It hurt a lot, I wanted to hug her, but also scream at her. Lots of tears from her, lots of yelling at me, I didn’t say anything. I told her we could discuss it at length with lawyers present once she accepted the situation and calmed down. I think someone called it “grey wall” in the comments of my last post, not entirely sure but I tried my best to do that and not show emotion/argue with her. It was really hard, hardest thing I hope I’ll ever have to do. She betrayed me, but I still felt awful making her cry.
She left that day with some clothes/personal belongings and went to her parents, and my parents and best friend came to stay with me and my daughter. I had my lawyer arrange a meeting between us to discuss custody/belongings/money/everything else that following Tuesday. Well, Monday I got a call from my clinic to come in to review results of STI tests, and as it turns out her parting gift to me is HSV-2. I cannot describe in words how angry, sad, shattered I am. I’m still accepting it, I don’t think I have yet, but I am working on it. I know it’s common, very common, it’s not going to kill me, but it doesn’t make it suck any less. I joined a support group on Facebook, those people are great.
Going into Tuesday with that knowledge was awful. I felt so much shame bringing that up in-front of not only her, but both of our lawyers. I knew if I tried to discuss it with her privately it wouldn’t go well, not with the amount of angesadness I had in my system. She never apologized, she was a different person that day. I felt like I was looking into the eyes of a complete stranger, no emotion whatsoever. Divorce wise everything is cut and dry. We separated finances, the house is mine, we are just waiting the 90 days for it to finalize. There were no objections on her end but one, she wants to terminate her parental rights over our daughter. I say “wants,” she IS terminating rights, at-least trying to. She doesn’t want her anymore. Our daughter, our baby. I was fucking blindsided. I’m still blindsided. My daughter is 1, but she loves her mama. Mama was her first word. She is ONE. It’s been 3 weeks, and the pain I have felt, the pain for my daughter, for my family, has been indescribable.
I don’t know who she is anymore, I don’t know what changed or when it changed but it terrifies me. I feel like my entire life was pulled out from under me. I haven’t talked to her, per lawyers advice and my own fear of what I would say. She hasn’t seen our daughter, she told me that day she didn’t want to. She didn’t want any pictures from our home, any memories. Just her clothes and electronics. I don’t understand any of it, I don’t think I ever will. We have to go to court for her petition to terminate rights, and I don’t want to look at her. I just can’t accept this as reality right now, not after everything. I’m trying as hard as I possibly can to keep a positive outlook on everything and be strong for my family and my baby, but this has been so hard. I hope a year from now I can look back and say “I survived that,” but right now it feels impossible to even see next week. I’m not suicidal, so don’t take it as that, I’m just emotionally, mentally, physically demolished. Absolutely demolished.

Hi there, for anyone who has messaged me and the loads of comments I have received regarding my past venting on this account, apologies first off. I genuinely kinda forgot I had it! Not much of a Reddit guy, but I’ve been getting into tiktok lately and saw a video about a super depressing Reddit story, and remembered my own super depressing Reddit story lol.
It’s been around 8ish months since I posted here about my upside down situation, and a LOT of people messaged me in that time wanting to know how I was and what unfolded, and I really appreciate you strangers for all the kind messages. It genuinely means a lot, and I’m sorry I haven’t replied or anything, my life has been such a whirlwind these past few months! It’s hard to believe that was that long ago.
To sum up the sad stuff, first off my divorce was finalized without any hiccups or hold ups, I’m still in the works of trying to sell our old house but in the meantime we moved to a new state. My ex is still in the process of petitioning for termination of parental rights, I’ve only seen her 3 times since moving and it has been to fly out for court. I was granted temporary full custody in the process, per her request and suggestion, and she was not mandated any visitation and has denied any offer of it. She has not seen my daughter in 7 months, she has requested not to. I don’t know what else she’s been up to or if she is still with her boyfriend or not, since the divorce it has been in best interest of my mental health to keep the contact as minimal as possible, and she has done the same. I have offered many chances for her to visit with my daughter, whether it be video call or flying out, and before we moved I asked weekly but it was always a no. Her parents still video call with my daughter and we’re hoping they can fly out over summer and spend some time with her. They’ve been cut off by my ex as well. I’m not sure what changed, but I can’t change it back, and I am accepting it mostly. I wish her well in all future endeavors.
Now for the happy stuff that has happened! Firstly, I am a proud Arizonan now! Never saw myself moving here, but we have loved it so far. My parents packed up and came with us and I don’t think I’ve ever seen them so happy. My daughter is doing AMAZING. She will be 2 years old in July, and she is the smartest, funniest toddler I’ve ever met! She knows her ABCs, can count to 20 without help, loves animals and bugs especially, she thinks farts and a cow mooing are the definition of comedy, and she doesn’t know but she has been my biggest motivator to heal from this whole ordeal and be my best self. Like I genuinely don’t know how I helped make such an awesome kid, the more her personality grows the more in awe I am of just how cool she is. I could talk for days about her, so I’ll cap it here before this ends up being a Harry Potter length post lol.
As for myself, I’m in therapy and have been throughout these 8 months, and I’m in a much better headspace. I’m working on getting back on-top of my health as I did put on about 30 stress pounds, I’ll get there eventually but I’m not sweating it too much. I have not dated or tried to, I don’t think I will anytime soon. I’ve adjusted to being a single parent pretty okay for the most part, I credit that to my family and friends more than anything because they have been a huge support system throughout this. There are still really hard moments that have happened and I know there are more to come, but I will roll with it just as I have this and hope to come out on top. This is not the end of the world for me even if it feels/felt like it in the moment. The sun will rise tomorrow, birds will chirp, and all will be well. Thanks to my therapist for that, those two sentences have helped me IMMENSELY.

I was so proud she was getting out there and becoming more social, since she expressed motherhood made her feel like a recluse. And after digging a little deeper, all of these new “friends” she’s been out with don’t even exist. All lies. They are characters she’s created to continue her relationship with this man.
I feel like a complete and total idiot. I never second guessed a lie she fed me. I gave her my 100% trust. We’ve been doing couples therapy for a year, we communicate, we go on dates, we get each other gifts, our sex life was great, I never not even for a second would have suspected this. I don’t know how to confront her with this, I don’t want this. I don’t want to split up our home. But I know that this isn’t something therapy can fix, I know myself well enough to know I’ll never be able to trust her again. Do I just let go? Let her go be with this man who clearly makes her happier than I can? My entire existence is intertwined with her, how do I even begin to untangle that and separate? I have 4 more days to sit and overthink this. I genuinely don’t know whChina man?

Thank you everyone for the advice. I am trying to keep up with comments, and eventually will reply to everyone. Since posting and reading the comments I’ve been working on getting all the messages/pictures/videos into a folder on my personal computer. I went through our home cameras and found that she’s had him at our house several times, either picking her up or them swimming(amongst other things) in our pool together. The more I find the sicker I feel. I have a lot of phone calls to make in the next few days. And an appointment to get screened for STIs. I do want everyone to rest assured my daughter is mine. We had a DNA test done when she was an infant to scan for hereditary diseases I carry. I’m going to reach out to my parents and fill them in so they can babysit while I handle this for the next few days.

I posted here almost a month ago venting my frustrations about discovering my wife’s affair, and I received a magnitude of comments and messages filled with advice and kind words. For that I thank everyone who took the time to comment or write me, and I’m sorry for anyone who related to my situation. I’m here with somewhat of an update, but mostly more venting. My life is upside down and it feels good to get it all out somewhere. Sorry if a lot of this is rambling, and sorry for the length.
After making my post, I took the advice of everyone and gathered up all evidence and contacted lawyers in my area. I found a really great one and went ahead and started on divorce papers before my wife got home. I also got tested for any STIs, and told my parents/best friend about the situation. I took my daughter to my parents so I could have the alone time to mentally prepare myself to face my wife with this discovery. I rage cleaned a lot, and cried a lot those last two days before she got back. I packed some of her stuff, but then unpacked it and cried more. I had it planned to lay out all the screenshots along with divorce papers on our dining room table and just sit and wait for her, but I didn’t get the chance to do that.
She was supposed to get home later in the afternoon on Sunday, but she ended up getting back around 6:30 that morning, she didn’t call or text in hopes of surprising me. I was up drinking coffee, and you guessed it, crying, when she walked into the house. I didn’t greet her, I just went and got the folders of evidence and divorce papers and gave them to her. I don’t remember anything she said that day, but I just said I knew, I wanted a divorce, and I would keep the house as it was in my name solely. It hurt a lot, I wanted to hug her, but also scream at her. Lots of tears from her, lots of yelling at me, I didn’t say anything. I told her we could discuss it at length with lawyers present once she accepted the situation and calmed down. I think someone called it “grey wall” in the comments of my last post, not entirely sure but I tried my best to do that and not show emotion/argue with her. It was really hard, hardest thing I hope I’ll ever have to do. She betrayed me, but I still felt awful making her cry.
She left that day with some clothes/personal belongings and went to her parents, and my parents and best friend came to stay with me and my daughter. I had my lawyer arrange a meeting between us to discuss custody/belongings/money/everything else that following Tuesday. Well, Monday I got a call from my clinic to come in to review results of STI tests, and as it turns out her parting gift to me is HSV-2. I cannot describe in words how angry, sad, shattered I am. I’m still accepting it, I don’t think I have yet, but I am working on it. I know it’s common, very common, it’s not going to kill me, but it doesn’t make it suck any less. I joined a support group on Facebook, those people are great.
Going into Tuesday with that knowledge was awful. I felt so much shame bringing that up in-front of not only her, but both of our lawyers. I knew if I tried to discuss it with her privately it wouldn’t go well, not with the amount of angesadness I had in my system. She never apologized, she was a different person that day. I felt like I was looking into the eyes of a complete stranger, no emotion whatsoever. Divorce wise everything is cut and dry. We separated finances, the house is mine, we are just waiting the 90 days for it to finalize. There were no objections on her end but one, she wants to terminate her parental rights over our daughter. I say “wants,” she IS terminating rights, at-least trying to. She doesn’t want her anymore. Our daughter, our baby. I was fucking blindsided. I’m still blindsided. My daughter is 1, but she loves her mama. Mama was her first word. She is ONE. It’s been 3 weeks, and the pain I have felt, the pain for my daughter, for my family, has been indescribable.
I don’t know who she is anymore, I don’t know what changed or when it changed but it terrifies me. I feel like my entire life was pulled out from under me. I haven’t talked to her, per lawyers advice and my own fear of what I would say. She hasn’t seen our daughter, she told me that day she didn’t want to. She didn’t want any pictures from our home, any memories. Just her clothes and electronics. I don’t understand any of it, I don’t think I ever will. We have to go to court for her petition to terminate rights, and I don’t want to look at her. I just can’t accept this as reality right now, not after everything. I’m trying as hard as I possibly can to keep a positive outlook on everything and be strong for my family and my baby, but this has been so hard. I hope a year from now I can look back and say “I survived that,” but right now it feels impossible to even see next week. I’m not suicidal, so don’t take it as that, I’m just emotionally, mentally, physically demolished. Absolutely demolished.

Hi there, for anyone who has messaged me and the loads of comments I have received regarding my past venting on this account, apologies first off. I genuinely kinda forgot I had it! Not much of a Reddit guy, but I’ve been getting into tiktok lately and saw a video about a super depressing Reddit story, and remembered my own super depressing Reddit story lol.
It’s been around 8ish months since I posted here about my upside down situation, and a LOT of people messaged me in that time wanting to know how I was and what unfolded, and I really appreciate you strangers for all the kind messages. It genuinely means a lot, and I’m sorry I haven’t replied or anything, my life has been such a whirlwind these past few months! It’s hard to believe that was that long ago.
To sum up the sad stuff, first off my divorce was finalized without any hiccups or hold ups, I’m still in the works of trying to sell our old house but in the meantime we moved to a new state. My ex is still in the process of petitioning for termination of parental rights, I’ve only seen her 3 times since moving and it has been to fly out for court. I was granted temporary full custody in the process, per her request and suggestion, and she was not mandated any visitation and has denied any offer of it. She has not seen my daughter in 7 months, she has requested not to. I don’t know what else she’s been up to or if she is still with her boyfriend or not, since the divorce it has been in best interest of my mental health to keep the contact as minimal as possible, and she has done the same. I have offered many chances for her to visit with my daughter, whether it be video call or flying out, and before we moved I asked weekly but it was always a no. Her parents still video call with my daughter and we’re hoping they can fly out over summer and spend some time with her. They’ve been cut off by my ex as well. I’m not sure what changed, but I can’t change it back, and I am accepting it mostly. I wish her well in all future endeavors.
Now for the happy stuff that has happened! Firstly, I am a proud Arizonan now! Never saw myself moving here, but we have loved it so far. My parents packed up and came with us and I don’t think I’ve ever seen them so happy. My daughter is doing AMAZING. She will be 2 years old in July, and she is the smartest, funniest toddler I’ve ever met! She knows her ABCs, can count to 20 without help, loves animals and bugs especially, she thinks farts and a cow mooing are the definition of comedy, and she doesn’t know but she has been my biggest motivator to heal from this whole ordeal and be my best self. Like I genuinely don’t know how I helped make such an awesome kid, the more her personality grows the more in awe I am of just how cool she is. I could talk for days about her, so I’ll cap it here before this ends up being a Harry Potter length post lol.
As for myself, I’m in therapy and have been throughout these 8 months, and I’m in a much better headspace. I’m working on getting back on-top of my health as I did put on about 30 stress pounds, I’ll get there eventually but I’m not sweating it too much. I have not dated or tried to, I don’t think I will anytime soon. I’ve adjusted to being a single parent pretty okay for the most part, I credit that to my family and friends more than anything because they have been a huge support system throughout this. There are still really hard moments that have happened and I know there are more to come, but I will roll with it just as I have this and hope to come out on top. This is not the end of the world for me even if it feels/felt like it in the moment. The sun will rise tomorrow, birds will chirp, and all will be well. Thanks to my therapist for that, those two sentences have helped me IMMENSELY.
Sorry this ended up being so long, I should really pick up journaling. Maybe a blog or something lol. But thank you again to everyone who took the time to give me advice in the hardest time of my life, and thanks again if you read this. I genuinely appreciate it.

So after I noticed the reMarkable, I have been considering buying an e-ink tablet to replace my bible-study/note-taking in journal form. Currently its approx 1-2A4 pages per day in 8mm lined notebook form (cursive) with a pen/fineliner on paper. I've got a stack of 10+ of these notebooks from the past few years and would rather appreciate keeping them all in one space. But most importantly, searching through those old notes for keywords & phrases, and auto-converting them to typed text for legibility, is something I can't do right now.
I'm not a tech person. I don't own a tablet, haven't turned my PC on in a few years, and don't replace my phone unless it breaks. I'm not interested in buying a product which will be obsolete, unsupported or too slow to function in a few years. Cost is not a major consideration, in the sense that I'd rather spend more and buy the best there is now, so I don't have to buy another later.
Colour would be nice, but (as I only use blue/red/black atm) I think I could get around that with underline/italics/greyscale/pen types. Split screen too if I can open two different notes at once, or e-books. So would the mechanical keyboard, because I type faster than I can write.
I was initially drawn to the reMarkable 2, but recently found it can't search/convert handwriting offline/at all? That'd be a dealbreaker. Plus subscription model, low storage, higher price and ongoing costs for seemingly less, and an article on company ethics has me questioning that. Supernote seems like it ticks all the boxes (minus keyboard).
My main concern is sensitivity, all the demo videos seem so show rather large cursive. Does it pickup small handwriting on 6mm or 7mm lines? Does it do little symbols like a pen can?
Bonus use: I've owned two kindles in my time, one from before there was any competition, and it's replacement paperwhite shich I lost on an airplane last year. I don't read as often as I used to and haven't got around to replacing that yet, but the kindle mobile app isn't cutting it for me. I've never settled on a replacement kindle model and the new kobo's at first glance just seem better for the price. If it wasn't for Amazon's exclusivity I might already have a kobo; So e-book functionality would be great, if it means I don't need another e-reader.
The other bonus uses I can foresee are basic sketching - currently designing a board game and would be nice to both draw symbols and write the rules in the same place. But I'm definitely no artist - function over form - so as long as sensitivity is not a concern.
Am I missing anything? Is there something else I should look at?
Do the A6 & A5 refer to size of the model (like A4 paper)? Or is it just the name? And when is the A5x2 scheduled for release?

(Pardon my English, I am not a native speaker) In Germany we had to learn cursive in Elementary school with a fountain pen, the Lamy ABC was mandatory these days. Due to the fact that my mother was into handwriting and also a bit calligraphy, I was super exited to get my very own fountain pen after writing with pencils and even on small blackboards pupils had to carry around (the 90s were a crazy time ...). So I got my Lamy ABC and it even got my Name engraved! I really enjoyed learning how to use the fountain pen. But my handwriting was pretty bad. Don't get me wrong: I was never the kid whose teachers couldn't read the handwriting, but I did not like the way my handwriting looked. Well, I improved it and I was one of the boys (nowadays I do not identify as any social gender, so I would love if you do not use "he" or "him", thank you!) with pretty good readable handwriting. But times had changed and so my writing device did. In the third grade I got one of these mirthful Online Ballpoint pens. My handwriting became truly ugly (but still readable). Some years later I used the Lamy Safari. My handwriting changed once again. It was a time where I tried to find my own style and I experimented a lot. Some of those handwriting s were good, some were a pain in the arse. Then I found and fell in love with the Parker Jotter, my absolute favourite roller all pen ever (I own a freaking lot of them, some are special editions). I pretty much like the way my handwriting looks with the Jotter, I would say, it is the best handwriting I am able to produce. But it wasn't a fountain pen, the device I admire so much. So I decided to buy a good fp. I went to the local stationary shop and tried a lot of pen. From Lamy to Faber Castillo and Pelikan. I also tried the Jotter Pen, but it was just okay, too light and too slim. I ended up with a Waterman Hemisphere. It suited me really well. My handwriting improved once again. Then I went to university. A freaking lot of handwriting, so I thought it would be once again time for the Jotters to have a comeback. Now, 12 years of rollerball-writing, I decided that it is time to get a new fountain pen. So I ordered a Leonardo Officina Italiana Momento Zero Sorrento Blue & Gold at Stilo e Stile. I opted for the broad nib, because it looked pretty medium on the writing examples. Well, it is broader than I thought. But maybe I'll get used to it. I tried the new fp and I really like it. But hell, my arm and my hand hurt so much after writing some pages. Past 12 years the freaking rollerballs ruined my handwriting as well as all of my muscle memory. It is like I have to learn who to write with the fountain pen a second time. My handwriting looks awfull. I will take the chance to improve my handwriting once again. It will be hard work, but at least, I am back in the game! |

Ok so my ex husband and i separated 3 years ago. We have a daughter that was 8 at the time. At first she did fine with the split but now idk what is going on. She stays with her dad 7 days and then me 7 days. Her dad got her a phone last July for her birthday which I did not agree with. She is in ELP and has had the same ELP teacher since kindergarten which comes to take her out of class and work with her in a small group a couple times a week. I have noticed a big change in her personality she stays to herself in her room. Eats and goes right back in there. She has an attitude about everything, does not keep her room clean. I ask her a million times to do things and she still will not do them. She seems very heartless. I have gotten a call from the school the first time this year about her telling another kids some things that she would Ever usually say. Well not that her before this past year. I have spoke with her ELP teacher and he said he’s noticed a change since the divorce but has noticed the biggest change this year. Her aunt saw her for the first time in almost 6 months and said even the look in her eyes is different. All she wants to do is Snapchat and video call her friends. She lies about homework. She doesn’t want to shower I also have a 5 year old that requires my attention as well. Well long story short she hid her report card from me last week. I only knew they got them because my son brought his home. I told her for 3 days that I need it. She never brought it so I told her dad when she went with him and he said he would get it from her. I texted him today and he said he got it and that’s all. I said “well how did she do”. He said “ she did so so..she didn’t get any Fs”. So I said “well what did she get?” He said “ABC” well I knew that was a lie bc she has more than 3 classes. So I was finally able to get in touch with the school and get a copy of her report card. She has 2 F’s and 2 D’s in her academics. So I texted him and his response was “ the one I saw did not have any F’s”. So I sent him a screenshot of the last report card and the current one showing him all her grades had dropped and she did indeed have F’s, and ask him what the plan was. Since he bought the phone and pays for it he claims I can’t take it. If I tell her she can’t have it here he will not let my son who is making straight A’s take his tablet to his house when they go with him just because I am punishing her. I left the house because of a domestic violence situation and because I had to run out that night and we were legally married the police could not get my kids back to me. I has to wait to save for a child custody lawyer which took 6 months and did not get to see my kids in those 6 months. My mother left us when I was young so I guess I feel guilt for those 6 months I missed even though it was not my fault and am a lot more relaxed with them than I should be because I know from experience one day they could just not be there anymore or they can be taken and the justice system is so unfair. Then if I do try to punish or teach her things she goes right back to her dads the following week and he does not continue the punishment. She is his little princess and he literally lied to me to cover her ass. But literally is so hard on my son that is making straight A’s. The school year is over now and I feel a lot of her disconnect is her friends circle so I will be moving her to another school next year that is pretty strict in hopes this helps because she needs discipline. Anyone have any advice on what to do ad far as punishment now for hiding this report card and her failing grades with the school year already pretty much being over and her being with me 7 days and then with her dad 7 days. Please don’t judge me. I’m just a single mom trying to figure this out. Also any chores you feel would be appropriate for an almost 11 and almost 6 year old would be great as there are about to be some big changes in this house. They need more discipline and responsibility here as well. Please forgive me for the long post but I’m trying to give a little background to understand the situation a little more.
