2023.08.28 03:58 RazHawk Uh-oh suspicious activity detected, please send code to alternate email (going on for days)
In the last 3 days or so. Any of 4 different yahoo accounts I sign in to from any device, computer, phone etc. all say 'Uh-oh suspicious activity detected, please click to send code to alternate email'. Which I then do to a different provider and am able to sign in. Passwords are correct, cause if you type wrong password it lets you know saying wrong password. These accounts are all of varying age from 20 to 5 years old, the main one which I sign in to at least multiple times a day or the other ones every other day. One is Ymail address, the others Yahoo. One is not mine but an Uncle who lives in a care home and I take care of his email and other matters. I reset all the recovery email address to one hotmail account now cause it was annoying as the recoveries were to sometimes these yahoo accounts which all have the same login issue now. In the past if one had issue the others would login fine.
Worried something is hopefully not happening with Yahoo because a lot of important accounts are tied to my personal emails like long time gaming ones, banking, shopping etc. Under account activity, nothing is suspicious and only logins from my IP address. It is getting annoying to do this step every time. If Yahoo wants to force 2 step authentication then they should just do that. I hope this is just a temporary glitch or bug they are working on? Im afraid of the hassle of going to companies and entities to get emails changed if Yahoo is going to go out of business or the possibility. And even trying to remember all of the services, places etc. that I have associated my Yahoo account as login and email corrospondence.

2022.03.19 00:06 Annihilator4413 Account seems to have been hacked on PS4, what can I do?
Coming back to the game after a two year break, was greeted with this at the main menu:
'Reset your password: It's been a while since we've seen you, so your login credentials have expired. The good news: all you need to do is reset your password. We just sent a password reset email to gl*****@ymail.com'.
Problem: I have never used an email that starts with gl nor ends with 'ymail.com'. Seems to very obviously be a hacker that has taken over my Anthem account. It's on PS4, and EA support has said my PSN ID is linked to the game, but my email is different.
They asked for all of this info before they would do anything:
IP address: Date of birth: One purchase on account and purchase date: Last 4 digits of credit card: Billing address: Phone number:
Which I provided the answers as best as I could considering this was all three years ago, but they said I didn't have enough info correct.
Is there anything I can do? I can sign into the EA/Origin account no problem, and going through my emails I noticed sketchy logins fron Ireland, Russia, and Poland, but again... I still have access to the account. So what did they do?

2021.08.22 17:35 SolvirAurelius Log-in issue
Hi. I have an agonizing issue that I can't seem to solve. I have a Ymail that I need to access because I have an important account attached to it. But before I can change my account's email, I of course, have to visit my Ymail.
The problem is, I cannot open my Ymail without verifying through mobile or a recovery email. Since I do not have my mobile number anymore, I of course, have to access the recovery email. That recovery email I used is also Ymail. I cannot solve my first login issue because I cannot login my recovery email either!
In order to login to my recovery email, I now have to login to my recovery email's RECOVERY EMAIL. It's a cascade of old, abandoned accounts that I cannot seem to access anymore. I think Support is broken as well, because I cannot seem to send a message to customer support.
What should I do?

2021.02.14 00:51 IDonutRage I have a extremelly weird problem with my account and now i can't acess it and support wont help
Okay so where do i even begin, basically a lot of years ago i created an account under "xEmail", a few years later i lost complete acess to that email and google literally tells me that it does not exist but at the same time when i try to create an email with "xEmail" has the mail it says it already exist.
Since i needed a new mail i created "yMail" which i use for most stuff bla bla bla, this email had nothing to do with my facebook account but for some reason whenever i wanted to login to my facebook page i had to first use "ymail" and my normal password then change to "xmail" and put my password again, if i tried to login using "xmail" it would just bug out and say my account doesnt exist.
Now, for wtv reason facebook send me a mail to "yMail" telling me to reset my password or i wont have acess to my account, well i did it and now i lost acess to my fb account, because "yMail" is linked to some random fb account that i created to play wtv game, i cant use "xMail" because it bugs out, i cant use "ymail" because it goes to the random account, i cant reset passwords because it asks me to go to "xMail" which doesnt but does exist.. Overall what the actual hell happened ? Nothing on the support page helps me with my problem and i cant find a place to actually contact a facebook employee, please help me if you can

2021.01.12 15:57 laxweirdo Need help recovering accounts
Hello! Hope I'm in the right place. I saw the lack of activity in
YouTubeHelp so I just decided to post here.
Like many people who had accounts on the classic YouTube of yesteryear, I have lost access to some accounts because you can no longer log in with a username and password. I have been trying to regain access to two channels from my middle school days to remove some videos now that my friends in them are adults now and would like to not have them appear when someone Googles their names.
Let me preface this by when I was in middle school, I was a computer nerd. And I created multiple emails and multiple channels. They typically had the same patterned name, just numbered differently at the end, but some also belonged to Yahoo's now defunct Rocketmail and Ymail domains. And even now, Yahoo has been deleting a countless amount of inactive accounts.
I know about the Gaia link to claim a brand account. When I go to this link and enter in the login info, it says the channel is unable to be claimed. Then I try with a different password and it says the login info is incorrect.
I posed this question on the YouTube Help Community because it has been impossible for me to find an actual phone number. Despite YouTube saying that most posts are responded to within 24 hours, I have received no help in 2 weeks. When I 'bumped' my question, I was sent the default email from YouTube: "*so and so* (me) has responded to your post! Does this answer your question?"
And of course, there's no option for "no" except to not respond to the email.
I appreciate those who have read this and can provide any help. Even if it's just a phone number. Like, who were all those people calling Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in
The Internship?

2020.02.28 07:55 howtobest How to Ymail login-Create Ymail Account
2019.12.09 18:56 goodtimes27687 Ymail unauthorized access from former recovery email. Looking for alternative option as Yahoo is hopeless.
A family member was a recovery email on my ymail account. Long story short they got hooked on drugs and started accessing my email, using their recovery email privileges to do so. I removed them as a recovery email two weeks ago (Nov 23) and thought that was that.
Well, no it wasn't. I am still getting notifications that verification codes are being sent to their email so they can login to my email. I tried going through forgot password process myself last night and sure enough their email is still able to be used as a recovery option, despite me having removed it via setting two weeks ago. I finally chatted to live support about it last and they said it takes a long time for the removal of a recovery email to actually take effect, despite it no longer been listed as a recovery option on your settings.
This seems ridiculous given that they are repeatedly and deliberately hacking into my email without my authorization. I asked live support to just block their email from accessing my account but they cannot do that. How they can sit back and let me keep getting knowingly hacked into is beyond me. Even yesterday they attempted to change my phone number and password, to shut me out completely.
What can I do to stop this from happening? I really do not want to change my email but want to act urgently and not wait on Yahoo to get their shit together.

2019.08.13 04:23 KiwiNFLFan Problem with ddclient
Hi, I'm running a webserver in my front room on a computer running Ubuntu 16.04. I've been using it to host two WordPress blogs, and it has worked fine. I don't want to pay $15 per month for a static IP, so I'm using
dynu.com as a DNS host. The ddclient setup has always updated the IP address with
dynu.com without fail.
However, I added a third site into the mix (originally hosted on paid hosting). It works fine when
dynu.com has the correct IP address. The problem is,
ddclient updates the IP of the two initial sites but not the third one (it's running on a cron job every 5 minutes). The syslog shows that the other two sites are being updated (or attempting to update).
Is there something additional I need to do to make it update the third site? I set up the other two months ago so I don't exactly remember what I did.
Here is my /etc/ddclient/ddclient.conf file (the new site is the one on the bottom of the list):
# Configuration file for ddclient generated by debconf # # /etc/ddclient.conf daemon=900 syslog=yes pid=/varun/ddclient.pid ssl=yes use=web, web=checkip.dyndns.org, web-skip='IP Address' protocol=cloudflare,ttl=1,login=michael_inglis@ymail.com,password='10a517a29a0c52f916384a5299603309',zone=thekiwiinkorea.com protocol=cloudflare,ttl=1,login=michael_inglis@ymail.com,password='10a517a29a0c52f916384a5299603309',zone=michaels-musings.com protocol=cloudflare,ttl=1,login=michael_inglis@ymail.com,password='10a517a29a0c52f916384a5299603309',zone=dunedintemple.org.nz

2019.03.20 21:38 KaceyCanvas Simple login instructions took an hour to complete
This is my first post here and wanted to say this is my usual go to story for stupidity. TL;DR at the bottom.
Backstory: My first job out of college was Tech Support for a company that helped people find jobs. We supported people who worked in the company, as well as people who were looking for work or looking for workers. The position I worked was a Tech analyst for the company's call center.
Storytime: Usual day of callers calling in about general issues or trouble with our registration website. Let me tell you, things get a bit picky with our online registration website. I get a caller, who is an older gentleman (I will call OG), trying to log in at the library to do the online paperwork. For our online registration, you are given a username and password via email. Username is always firstname.lastname and the password is 5 random numbers that are generated.
Well, we start off the call making sure I can find him in our database. I was able to find him fairly quickly. He was getting the message that the username and password are not working. I walk him through doing a password reset. We go through this process because sometimes the recruiter invites twice and the first password becomes invalid.
What I didn't know was OG was not the best with computers to begin with. After we submitted the email to do the password reset, OG proceeded to go to his email via the following route:
Google.com>search
Yahoo.com> go to Yahoo Mail once on the Yahoo homepage. I explained how to get there faster, but he pecked the keys and did not care to listen after about 5 minutes of letting him do it his way, he finally got back to his email. Password reset was there. It takes him a few minutes to then click the link to get back to the registration. Sure enough, he still can't login. Verified username should be firstname.lastname. OG Confirmed.
I regretted asking him to go back to his email, but we needed to make sure his username was correct. His name came up with a few results and sometimes the system added numbers after the last name so it would read firstname.lastname2 for example. Well, another 5+ minutes and we found the first email. Username was correct and had no numbers in it. Another few minutes and we go back to the login page.
OG tells me he is typing everything in correctly, but it isn't working. He ends up reading off what the newest password was. We aren't supposed to try and log in as the user, but at this point, we are around 45 minutes into the call. I do a quick try and I am suddenly in. I know now he is typing his username wrong. The conversation that followed I still remember very vividly.
Me: Alright. Just to make sure, for your username, you are typing first dot last name with no commas, slashes, dashes, hyphens, or anything.
OG: [4 second pause]
OG: What's the difference between a comma and a period?
At that moment, I was ready to blow up. I can't believe what I just heard. My voice drops it's cheery tone and I say in a low voice.
Me: You see the M key on the keyboard? To the right of it is the comma. To the right of that is the period. Push. The Period.
After that, he was able to log in, but what he also didn't do was read that Firefox is not a supported browser for this Online Registration. So we spent another 10-15 minutes doing the same routine of Google > Yahoo > YMail > Reg Website through IE and we were able to finally able to get him in. I hung up the call after telling him to have a great day. I threw my headset on my desk and went on my break.
Hope you enjoyed the story.
TL;DR: Online Reg asked for Firstname.Lastname. Troubleshooted to find out he was using , instead of . which resulted in an hour long headache call.

2019.03.10 07:58 KiwiNFLFan DDClient + Cloudflare = not working. Help!
I'm running a webserver in my front room to host some blogs and other sites (currently 2 blogs and looking at least a third). I have put the URLs on Cloudflare and installed DDClient on the Ubuntu 16.04 server with the following config (using
this as a guide):
# Configuration file for ddclient generated by debconf # # /etc/ddclient.conf use=web web=checkip.dyndns.com/ web-skip="IP Address" daemon=600 syslog=yes pid=/varun/ddclient.pid cache=/tmp/ddclient.cache protocol=cloudflare server=www.cloudflare.com ssl=yes login=michael....@ymail.com password="" zone=thekiwiinkorea.com thekiwiinkorea.com # Second domain zone=michaels-musings.com michaels-musings.com
However, earlier today I decided to test the system by turning the routeresidential gateway off and on again. I got a new IP but DDClient didn't update Cloudflare (it's still not working now). Something has gone wrong but I'm not sure what. Any help here would be good.

2019.03.10 04:54 KiwiNFLFan DDClient not updating Cloudflare's DNS records
Hi, I'm running a webserver in my front room which I'll be using to host several blogs and other sites (I'm currently hosting 2 WordPress blogs). My ISP charges for a static IP address so I put the domain names on Cloudflare and set up DNS records to the current IP address. I then installed DDClient and set it up with the following config:
# Configuration file for ddclient generated by debconf # # /etc/ddclient.conf use=web web=checkip.dyndns.com/ web-skip="IP Address" daemon=600 syslog=yes pid=/varun/ddclient.pid cache=/tmp/ddclient.cache protocol=cloudflare server=www.cloudflare.com ssl=yes login=michael.......@ymail.com password="" zone=thekiwiinkorea.com thekiwiinkorea.com # Second domain zone=michaels-musings.com michaels-musings.com
I restarted the router to test this and sure enough, I got assigned a new IP address. However, ddclient didn't do it's thing - the old IP address is still listed in Cloudflare as we speak.
Can anyone help me out here? I'd like to avoid using No-IP if at all possible (but I'd rather do that than fork out my Benjamins for a cloud-hosted VM when I've got a perfectly good computer already).
