Hihi I'm looking for some new game pals on Steam. I'm 26 and usually play in the New York timezone (EST). I'm an international student, so please only add me if you don't mind that I'm not a native English speaker. I sleep late (2-3 am) and wake up around noon. I have lots of time to game during the summer.
I have thousands of hours in DOTA 2, but now I want to try something different. Games I want to try include Rust, Raft, and V Rising, but I'm open to anything really.

my first mysims game was mysims kingdom. i first played it back in 2010 when i was a lil kiddo. i was absolutely hooked on it, playing it after school and every weekend. personally, it holds so much sentimental value, much more than The Sims. (though i love both!)
quite a lengthy game it was, but it was a lovely adventure; so many memorable characters and quests. some of my favorite characters include violet, poppy, dj candy (so much so that i wanted to shape my entire personality around her), lyndsay, buddy, TOBOR, leif, roxie, goth boy, and yuki! i also remember being absolute garbage at any quests that involved herding animals, and that one quest where you had to chase after TOBOR’s legs. so frustrating but so memorable.
i replayed the entire game back in 2020, and it was just as an enjoyable experience. i would replay it again, and again, and again. such a wonderfully made, happy, warm, nostalgic game!

I've found myself in an unfortunate position where I am a long-time gamer who now has carpal tunnel. Because of this, I'm searching for more games that are going to be easier for me to play. I'm hoping the community here might be able to recommend a game that will be playable and also scratch an itch for a certain type of shooter.
I was watching my buddy play The Division 2 recently. I was thinking of how awesome it would be to play a game like it but where there is some form of automatic combat. Essentially, let the RPG 'dice roll' determine how the outcome of the battle goes. Then, my role as the player would be to manage my character's guns, gear, loadout, and perks. Like any RPG there would be a proper leveling system.
The game I'm looking for would have the following criteria:

• Third person shooter (ideally)
  
• RPG mechanics such as a leveling system, gear and loot with statuses/buffs
  
• Some element of an automated combat system, where I either watch the battle unfold, or where I have very little clicking to do to make the combat happen
  

In other words, something like The Division 2 but with little or no clicking for me to do during combat. Does this game exist?

I (26F) when I was 4 years old my parents legally divorced and for my whole life I lived with shared custody. Until I was 16 years old my mom was my biggest enemy because she abused me verbally and physically while my dad was my best friend, going to his house was what I expected all week long because I went on weekends, we played board games, we went to the movies or to different places, he did let me have a pet, everything was a dream until I turned 16 years old. Something curious about this time is that my dad used to talk to me about how my mom cheated on him and she told me not to believe him, but since he was the enemy I didn't listen to him.
12 years ago my mom started attending a Christian church along with my whole family and I, curious, started attending with her... that's when everything took a turn. You see, my father is an extremist Catholic and from then on he started to attack me in every way possible: against my new belief, he discovered that I had Facebook and forced me to give him my password to h*rass me and read absolutely everything; he told me that if I took the entrance exam for the university I wanted, he would find out because he hired a friend to stand near the door and take photos of me if he saw me arriving, which made me scared; when I decided that I was going to be a teacher my dad exploded in fury, although I was already a legal adult he told me that I had no right to choose my career and only my mother and he could do it, he tried to force my mother to pay me to study medicine but he didn't succeed and now I am studying education; Oh and it is worth mentioning that he generated in me an irrational phobia of buses because he told me that if I got on a bus, my parents would never see me or my body again.
My father over time has tried to manipulate me more and more and I increasingly move away, he pressures me every year to marry someone rich, to get pregnant even by accident because he doesn't want to “die without knowing his grandchildren” (my father is macho), that I stay in his house when he no longer lives alone and lives with a family that I don't like, he wants me to call his partner's children "my siblings" and treat them the same as my biological siblings, that I become Catholic again so I don't go to hell, that I convince my sister to stop therapy because her bipolar "is a lie", that I don't relate to minorities or people of other races (my father is r*cist since we are not white), that I don't relate to anyone in the LGBT community (my father is “proudly homophobic”).
My father lives by appearances, he lives in an expensive house but my grandparents pay his rent, he wears pilot suits when he used to repair airplanes and he doesn't know how to fly a plane, he tells everyone that I studied “educational administration and future founder of a school” because he is ashamed that I am a teacher, he bought very big cars when he didn't even have enough to pay for gas and finally he presumes he is a good father... when he has caused me such strong psychological abuse that I'm afraid to do things because he might find out.
4 years ago I started to progressively cut communication with him to the point that I don't talk to him and I don't go to his house anymore, only once a month and it hurts me because in this dispute my paternal grandparents and my younger sister got caught in the crossfire, but my dad is so harassing that if I call them or her just to say hello, he will find out and come here to complain because I talk to them and not to him. Sometimes I think my life will be easier and I will rest the day he dies, AITAH for wanting or thinking that?

I literally just played a game and the only goals the guy scored were literally unavoidable the score was 6-5 to him both my cb got red cards (their ai automatically fouled people) he got 3 pens which all went top left impossible to save got a free kick which went in instantly (impossible to save) and scored a header with drogba from a corner (impossible to save) what the actual fuck

I’m not a poker player, but a curious outsider. I’ve heard that top poker players study GTO solvers to get as close as they can toward optimal (unexploitable) play. But then I’ve also heard that many solvers only do heads up poker, or that even if a solver handles multiplayer poker that there are too many situations to make study feasible.
Does the existence of GTO solvers mostly affect heads up play?
If so, that seems like such a small portion of the game for how much GTO gets discussed. Or is that even at a multiplayer table, many hands end up with two players and so you can use your GTO knowledge in those settings?

On a serious note, I'm really enjoying playing Metro 2033 Redux for the first time, as well as my first game of the series. I was lucky enough to have never seen anything on these games before. The gunplay isn't as clunky as some say, I actually find it fun, but man am I glad that most games have a speaking protagonist now.

This is a bit late (even though I'm not on an official shedule). Thanks for your patience. Spoilers ahead, so proceed at your own risk
We open with Honey Pie Pony seeing her human friends playing on one of Orange Blossom's tree. They invite her to join, but, given that she's a horse, she can't climb the tree. The humans try to help her, but that also doesn't work, so Honey leaves. We're also introduced to this bee named Honey Doodle, which I'm not sure if we see him in another episode. Later, Honey sees the humans riding bikes. The humans show her how to ride, but she isn't able to slow down or stop and crashes. Strawberry and crew realize that they've been playing human-oriented games, so they offer to do what Honey wants to do. She suggests that they jump over fences. The humans quickly realized that they couldn't jump over that fence the way Honey just did. I wish that the humans had at least tried to do it, since Honey had attempted their activities. Honey is convinced that she doesn't belong in Strawberryland and the humans can't convince her otherwise. The humans convene at Strawberry's house and make a plan to find another horse for Honey to hang out with. They tell Honey that they're going to find some friends for her, and that's where Strawberry says the recurring line about what friendship is all about. Also, there's the random moment where Huck puts his hat on Honey, and then Strawberry immediately puts it back on him (the Struckleberry shippers are quaking rn). According to Ginger, the humans traversed all over Strawberryland looking for horses (which begs the questions of how big Strawberryland really is and how long these kids were searching), but they couldn't find any other horses. That leads into Honey's musical number about Ice Cream Island where a bunch of horses live. The humans follow Honey to Ice Cream Island. The bridge they need to take is very old and unsafe. The humans are able to get across one at a time, but Honey nearly falls through. The humans band together to help her up. We finally get to ICI where there are plenty of horses, although none of them are capable of human speech. I would have liked to see some inner turmoil related to Honey not fully fitting into either group, but oh well. The humans realize they have to get home and take care of their pets. Honey doesn't want to leave ICI, which makes the humans really sad. On the raft ride, they reminisce on how great Honey was. When they get back to the bridge, instead of going one at a time, they all get to the center of the bride at once, and then a fallen tree passes through and breaks the bridge. The humans are all standing on a broken piece, which falls into the water and sends them into the current. They approach a waterfall and the only thing that stopped them was a patch of rocks. Meanwhile, Honey reminisces on her human friends, and realizes she can't just leave them behind (it's a pretty quick realization which isn't totally realistic, but this is a common thing in this show). She finds her friends still stuck, and about to fall in. Honey sees some rocks (which I don't remember seeing in previous shots), and she gets the idea to jump to them. I gotta mention that Huck's sass is pretty funny here. Anyway, despite all odds, Honey's plan works (although we never see Huck getting on her back to jump off. Also the way this river flows is extremely confusing, since when the tree hit the bridge, it sent the humans in the opposite direction, but then in this scene, that tree heads towards them). Then, we get the second musical number, where they celebrate being "back together," even though everyone walks home and says goodbye. The last shot is Strawberry riding on Honey's back and it hammers the message of the episode which is that friends can be different in many ways and still love each other. Aside from the critiques I gave, this is a pretty solid episode. The message is wholesome and leaves me satisfied.

I think it’s very likely that Josh Giddey played his last game in OKC tonight. Assuming the Thunder move him, what sort of value does he actually have? His value as a player has to be at basically an all time low, but he also clearly doesn’t fit with the roster and the team needs to acquire a big man.

When you select to play a game from the downloaded games, the game card launches on screen, signs in, then syncs, and then gets on stuck in the "Launching Game" phase. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, are there any fixes?
