Hey!
I’m a 23 year old trans woman (she/her) born and raised in Massachusetts + currently living in Providence, Rhode Island. I recently graduated from undergrad last year and work at an ad agency in Boston, MA. I was planning to move to Boston this summer and/or in September, and then move to California after spending one last year in new england (moving to California, specifically San Diego or LA, has always been a matter of if, not when).
After a ton of thinking, I’ve decided it’s smarter to just live at home for a few months and save up to move out west NOW instead of living in Boston for a year and not being able to save up nearly as much money, jeopardizing my plans and forcing me to stay in Boston several years longer since rent is so expensive. I would move out there myself, single, with my car and just start new there, either in a studio/one bed or find a roommate from Facebook
Providence is a great city, but it’s just really small. I’m looking for a popular neighborhood with a good night life scene + very LGBTQ+ inclusive. I know LA is super spread out but my commute to work is pretty long now anyways (I commute from Prov to Boston for work, a hour and 45 min commute on the train or longer by car). I would probably work at an ad agency but I’m considering other in-house opportunities for PR, strategy, copywriting etc. I know living close to where you work is important, but I expect to deal with bad traffic like I already do so driving doesn’t deter me too badly. I’ve currently been looking around living in Koreatown / DTLA and looking as far as Marina Del Rey for a commute.
Any recommendations for a living location (or good areas for my work)? Koreatown / Echo Park / DTLA seem most compatible but LA is super spread out. I’m open to any tips or more hyper-specific areas for living close to a more active nightlife / walkable center. Thank you in advance!

My girlfriend is 27 (I am 42 and I've been listening to Howard since I was 15.) When we were driving to dinner last night, I asked her what her opinion was of Howard Stern.
Her - "I know he's a pop culture icon, but I'm not sure why. I've never really heard his show, but I know you are a huge fan, and I think that's really sweet"
She did enjoy the Rich Cronin interview when we drove up to Sedona a few months ago, but I don't think she would be impressed with William Shatner going down to the Homo Room. We are driving to San Diego in a few weeks, and I think I'll play the 7 hour Mark Harris compilation.
Anyway, Howard is a daily listen, often for hours, during my day. This morning during my usual chores and errands, I was listening to Grillo get goofed on for speaking to other college kids about his job (Grillo The Gezzed Speaker)

Total financed ≈ $121,000 Mortgage including insurance, taxes, and HOA ≈ $1250
New build, 875 sq ft. 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths.
I know Mexico is not ideal, but I had to do something, and be close (enough) to my work.

Hi all, both of us are looking for a month-to-month (at least with some flexibility with leasing options) living situation near either of the UCSF campuses. I'll (22M) be moving into the city the first week of July (originally a San Diego resident) and the other (22F) will be finishing her other lease the same time (we're looking to move within the first week of July). I will be attending a trade school and doing part-time work while the other works all day on campus. We're clean, tidy, communicative, respectful, and always make our end of all payments. Preferably having furnished rooms, access to laundry, a kitchen, and a budget <$1,300 per person maximum. Access to a backyard, good lighting, and having awesome roommates to hang out with are absolute pluses.
Seeing how difficult of a request this is, if you can only take one person at a time (especially with the qualities mentioned above), let me know and one of us can move in. Personally, I am open to options in the Sunset District/Outer Sunset and Chinatown areas. I at least need a place to stay until March but I'll have the opportunity to stay much longer, and the other roommate will need at least a year there.
We mainly want to explore the area and outdoors, meet people, and experience the thrill of the city. A place where we can eat, exist, and sleep safely are our ultimate basic needs. PM me and I can share more information as needed (even for sharing advice too)!
