2024.05.18 23:06 Active-Writing6901 AITAH for punching the quiet kid after he drew me naked?

First of all, i'm a guy, that might be important later
Okay, so i was sitting next to the quiet kid in class, he was sleeping, he's always drawing and i saw his sketchbook open, i took it because a drawing called my attention, when i did, i saw not one, not two, but three drawings of me naked in the only two pages i had the guts to look, i got extremely disgusted, he woke up right after (probably bc i took the sketchbook from under his elbow and he probably felt it) and saw me looking at his drawing, i immediately got up with the sketchbook in hands and got out of the class, with the plans to show it to the principal, he ran after me and said he could explain himself, but before he said anything else, i punched him on the face before calling him weirdo and a fag, he tried to approach me and touch my shoulder but i pushed him to the floor, a supervisor saw us and took us to the principal's office before i could do anything else, we talked kinda and the kid got a week of detention, i was talking abt that story to some online friends and one of them said that i shouldn't have hitted him bc the boy would keep his drawings to himself and most of the gc agreed, now i'm wondering if i was an asshole or not, help me pls

2024.05.18 23:06 the_ghost_in_me_ I am creating something for this sub and I need your help and screenshots!

I don't have a lot of time, but I desperately want a succinct, damning collection of screenshots from JRK's attacks on female victims of powerful men. If people could see these examples all lined up, they'd see what a disgusting woman Jessica is, and the damage she's doing to SA survivors. When I was raped, I remembered the treatment of Kobe Bryant's victim in court and didn't report it immediately. There are women and girls out there who haven't been SA'd yet, but when they are, they'll remember how Amber Heard & other women were treated and think, "I can't possibly put myself through that right now." She is doing so much damage to FUTURE victims and ensuring these men can continue their crimes against more women!
So I'm going to create either a sub wiki or a post that can be pinned to the top of the sub (assuming the mods will be cool with it), and it's going to be DAMNING. I don't want to get bogged down with other shitty things Jessica has done, like her behavior during covid or her shitty parenting. I just want the absolute worst of her behavior to showcase to people. I think that's her treatment of women who have been SA'd by powerful men. If you think something else is as important, please comment below and i'll consider including it. But right now I will focus on this one area.
If you have screenshots of Jessica doing this, please post them below. Or if you simply remember something especially abhorrent that you want to make sure I remember to include, please comment here. If I can't search for the screenshot, someone else here may have it.

2024.05.18 23:04 Otherwise_Appeal7765 Running two campaigns in the same world and same time?

Hi, I have a group of 9 people wanting to play a D&D campaign, and instead of doing a massive party, I decided on splitting the campaign for it to be in the same world, and in the same time.
At first, I asked them to make me a quick overview of their character, and whether they would prefer the Forgotten Realms or just a homebrewed world, they picked the Forgotten Realms (so fuck me), and since their characters were really unique with unique motives, I had to make a homebrewed campaign that is 100% lore accurate with the Forgotten Realms (double fuck me).
Basically, after reading all of their backstories, I decided on the campaign setting being the Vast Swamps in the year of 1336 DR. Basically two years after Azoun IV's 2 year-old son was murdered, one year after he was crowned king and there was an assassination attempt on him by the Zhentarim who are occupying the Dalelands.
The plan is, I throw the players into the midst of this setting, 2 groups, one DMed on a Sunday and one on a Monday, and whatever action a group takes, it might very likely affect the other group.
So after rewriting the lore at this time, and adding alot of plots, conspiracies, and mysteries regarding the current tension in the air and the assassinations by Zhentarim, the Fire Knives, and other organizations. It is time for the players to discover the world, how or what do you recommend I should do in this 2 campaign climate?
Since currently there are a lot of factions, each with a lot of plots and characters and hidden secrets (its basically a mystery fantasy political campaign at this point), I have this feeling that the two groups would probably align themselves or help different sides of the conflict, leading to each group being the antagonists to the other group. I am planning to use this in my favor (if this is indeed something the players like and want to see more of), so for example, if the first party angered an NPC, this NPC could talk shit about them to the second party, and there are many other examples I could use to help create this dynamic world with two groups doing their own shit in but also hating the other group.
The campaign will probably last 7 sessions, its not really that long, but since my first rule of DMing is to never take away a shred of player agency, I still got no idea what the BBEG for each party will be... In the final session, they could possibly fight enemies from their backstories, cults, a dragon, or even themselves... i really dont know lol
what advice would you give me to run this type of campaign?

2024.05.18 23:04 Tarack_1 Apes, I need your help! Revolut seem to be shafting me.

Good evening one and all. I have a massive problem with Revolut. At the time of the reverse split, my account didn't look right. (For my own security I'm going to make up the figures)
All my AMC transactions added up to $5000. Yet even though my current share value is $500. My unrealised gains are sitting at -$1500.
Now, please someone tell me I'm being regarded or not, but surely my unrealised gains should (including the value of the shares I own) equal the transaction value. As in, it should all, losses and value, add up to exactly the amount I've spent + whatever gain there is from the value of the shares.
So for example, lets say I've made a gain of $20,000 on top of my investment of $5000, my unrealised gains would be $25,000. Is that correct or not?
Thank you in advance to any who respond.
P.s - Revolut have been constantly batting me off with ''Our team is still looking into this'' since October. I don't know what options I have from a legal standpoint but i'm considering legal action.

2024.05.18 23:03 Doggo625 Build up anxiety from years of trauma

This may be a bit of a long post but even if only a single person reads it that would still be so helpful. I feel lost.
So here is my story. I had a very traumatic childhood and early adolescence where I was constantly going through hardship after hardship (I was a foster kid). I consider myself a pretty resilient person and everytime something bad happened I got myself through it more or less.... Until now. I think something snapped in me. It broke me both mentally and physically.
So this is what happened. Around half a year ago I found myself in a bad situation. The details don't really matter, but it involved me having to move out of my home real quick because I was unsafe. It was extremely stressful since I felt 1. Unsafe 2. I had to find a new apartment in an incredibly short time 3. The new apartment I found -and where I currently live- is in a shitty neighborhood which also makes me feel unsafe. The whole situation caused and is still causing me an enormous amount of stress.
Since my move I feel a constant sense of anxiety. I can give some examples. Whenever I hear sirens outside (I live in a big city) I assume they're coming for me. I constantly check what the neighbours are doing and I'm scared they will harm me. I have anxiety about how I can barely pay my rent. I have anxiety about my anxiety becoming so bad that I have to quit my studies and lose everything I have. I have anxiety about paying for food. I have anxiety about not having family that can support me.
I'm also in constant physical pain because of my anxiety. My body is incredibly tense, my shoulders hurt and everyday my head aches. I feel dizzy. Sound and light are too much. I have to walk around with NC headphones 24/7 otherwise I get a panic attack. I can't form a single straight thought. I constantly hear the sound of my heartbeat pounding in my ears.
I live in filth, I feel paralyzed, I can't get anything done. I can't do anything that I used to do, like reading my favorite books, cooking, playing my instruments. I can't do anything because the sensory input is too much. Every single day I spend sitting on a couch with my headphones on and a blanket over my head in fetus position crying. I can't work, I can't see my friends. There are a lot of closed envelopes in my mailbox, probably bills, but I can't look at it.
I asked for help but no one seems to hear me or understand the severity of my pain. My GP put me on a year long waiting list for psychological help. I don't know what to do.

Anyone trying to learn SQL with GPT ? Facing a tough situation rn..
Hi everyone, recently, I have been using GPT-4 a lot to improve my level in SQL, more precisely in terms of querying an existent database, not in creating database from scratch or architecturing it.
Indeed, this gem is very good for generating exercises to push my limits and improve my querying level.
However, recently I haven't been able to find the perfect prompt to encourage GPT to provide me with exercises related to what I'm asking for.
It's mind blowing how he struggles to deliver exactly what I want and he seems to be missing the point.
What I want ChatGPT to do is give me an exercise every time I ask for it. This exercise should push me to use the different functions, clauses, joins, mathematical operations, that is to say everything that is possible to query using SQL. To put it simply, I must be able to provide a complete report, around a single theme, where each step or instruction leads naturally to a next one and this for each exercise with a completely different situation from the previous one.
Obviously, I don't want it to force me to use all the principles at the same time in a single query to answer the exercise. I prefer that he pushes me to use a few at the same time.
Here is examples of typical exercise that I would like to solve and which I thought about 30 minutes ago :
Example 1 :
1.Calculate the turnover of companies for each region. 2.Identify regions that generated over 2 million in revenue. 3.List the top-revenue-generating company within each region that generated over 2 million in revenue. 4.Highlight the highest revenue-generating sale for each of the top company by region that generated over 2 million in revenue.
Example 2 :
1.Gather all book sales that occurred in the last 3 months. 2.Calculate the number of sales for each book within this 3-month period and sort the results by the highest sales count. 3.Determine the total revenue generated by each book from the sales made in the last 3 months. 4.Filter out books that contributed less than 20% of the total revenue. 5.Identify the book with the highest sales count in the last 3 months. Identify the book that generated the most revenue in the last 3 months. Identify the book with the least sale count in the last three months.
Example 3 :
1.Return the unique IDs and addresses for all stores controlled by our video game company. 2. Return the quantity of each video game in stock for each store. 3. Calculate the actual stock for each video game based on the sales that occurred in each store. 4.Identify videogames with stocks below the safety stock (threshold). 5.Identify stores that have more than three items below the safety stock. 6.Identify stores that have between 3 and 5 items below the threshold as "Not a priority", between 6 and 9 items as "Priority", between 10 and 13 as "Critic", and more than 14 as "Maximum priority"
As you can see, these types of exercises would push me to use as many SQL functions and clauses as possible while at the same time practicing with joins and CTE. When I ask ChatGPT to do these kind of exercices, it goes insane and send me the same exercice with one or two minor differences and keep giving the same type of exercices with a slightly different situation.
I don't wanna give up but it's almost as if I won't find the good prompt that would allow ChatGPT to give me these kind of exercices around a unique theme, a unique situation that would push me to generate a large report based on logical and linked instructions. Because when I ask GPT to give me exercises to train, here is how it looks :
Example of SQL exercice gave by ChatGPT
What it does is, it seperates the instructions and they have not much link between them. It feels weird and I don't see how it would allow me train CTE and have a better understanding of JOINS, This is not the type of exercise and instructions that I am asking for. I really don't even know how to explain it but I guess someone would understand me here. I am pretty sure if I was able to formulate a correct prompt, it would for sure give me exercises I wish to get.

My apologies if this is not the place for this. I figured I'm over 30, this device goes hand in hand with fitness so I figured why not.
So I just want to get some input on these little guys and have a few questions to ask. Please go easy on me if my questions may seem stupid however I have really been trying here hitting the ground running on my fitness journey. Ok so the package didn't come with any instructions. I know self explanatory open the valve to allow more air flow close the valve for less air flow. I assume in your mouth out your nose, correct? Now one of my questions is when is this supposed to be used? Like do I use this during my normal work out routine remove it during rest times, or is the a wear only when running jogging walking type of device or only wear it periodically on the the days I'm not working out for example around the house or something. Or possibly has its own set of work outs that are specifically targeted for your lungs when using said device.
Also should I start with the least amout of air flow and slowly work my way up to more air flow or is it the other way around start with the most air flow and work my way on down.
Also did you notice any changes improvements or even anything that you did not like about it.
Me I have been using this for about a week. Not sure just yet when to use it so it gets used at random times. Now I used to vape pretty heavy and have been working on cutting it down. Now idk if its pure coincidence or if it's the device but I'm hocking out the nasty crap that I would assume was taking up space in my lungs, as if it's cleaning my lungs out. Right now I do feel like I can somewhat take deeper breaths.
Tell me your experiences using one of these.

2024.05.18 23:01 sxr4hh My friend is incredibly toxic and I somehow feel bad

For context, my toxic friend and I are both 15 years old. At the beginning of our friendship, she seemed pretty cool. I could tell she got comfortable quickly, but I didn't mind it since I also have attachment issues. However, I've started to notice her violent tendencies towards me both physically and verbally.
Firstly, she says a lot of slurs that she shouldn't be saying. I told her to stop saying them and she said that she didn't know that they were slurs. It was questionable since almost everyone knew what was a slur and what was not, but I didn't make a comment on it. She proceeded to say the slurs anyway and verbalized that she didn't care. Additionally, she seems to have no boundaries when she says certain things. For example, my relationship with my mother is something I keep private since it's a sensitive topic for me. Unbeknownst to my friend, she brought up my mom in a conversation one day. I told her I didn't want to talk about it, but she refused and persisted that I give her an explanation. I said no multiple times and she began to ask inappropriate questions like "is your mom a prostitute?" or "is she dead?" I'm not much of a cryer, but in this situation, I really was holding back tears.
Secondly, she has a short temper. This didn't bother me at first because I deal with short-tempered people daily, but with her, it escalates. A lot of the times when I say no to her, she strangles me from behind. Or if we're in gym, she deliberately throws basketballs at me. Obviously, it hurts like hell and once again I have to tell her to stop but she never listens. I've talked to my other friend about it (the three of us are a trio) and she agrees with me + stands up for me. I want to drop her, but I feel awful because she always apologizes to me for her actions and says she means no harm or is just joking around. Plus, we share mutual friends, so dropping her would leave an awkward gap and cause a lot of problems in the trio. I feel like my personality is also holding me back from doing what I need to do since I tend to be a forgivable person and brush things off, even when it's not worth forgiveness. Any advice on how to overcome being too nice? Also, how else should I approach this situation?

2024.05.18 23:01 chamomile-crumbs Can typescript infer a generic type without it being passed as a function argument?

Sorry for the title, I'm having trouble reducing this confusion down to one sentence. Maybe part of my problem is that I don't really understand exactly what I'm trying to do!
I have an app where I'm trying to read in data from different social media platforms. I want to be able to define each platform as an object, that implements certain functions. That way, when I want to add a support for a new platform, I just need to go create an object that implements those functions for that platform.
This is a simplified version of what I'm using so far:
type socialMediaDataProcessor = { fetchData: (resourceId: string) => FetchedData; transformData: (fetchedData: FetchedData) => TransformedData; }; const fetchFacebookData = (resourceId: string) => [ { clicks: 50, ad_id: "9837op4293", page_id: "oiuhiuheovwu" }, { clicks: 100, ad_id: "i9087gqu3i4", page_id: "njhbguy789uhi" }, ]; const transformFacebookData = ( facebookData: { clicks: number; ad_id: string; page_id: string }[], ) => { // do something to the facebook data }; const facebookDataProcessor = { fetchData: fetchFacebookData, transformData: transformFacebookData, } satisfies socialMediaDataProcessor< ReturnType, ReturnType >;
So I have this definition of a platform object, which p much says - a platform must implement two functions: fetchData and transformData - transformData's only argument is the return type of fetchData.
This works kinda ok, but it seems kind of redundant to have to specify the generic types for FetchedData and TransformedData.
Is there a different way I could set this up that wouldn't require me explicitly provide the types to the generic type socialMediaDataProcessor?
(Btw in this specific example, I guess don't actually have to specify the TransformedData type, but in my actual code there's a handful of types, so I feel like this illustrates the issue better)

2024.05.18 23:01 Character-Law-7250 Recent engineering grad - can you please review my resume and offer any suggestions?

Hi everyone! I'm graduating from Electrical Engineering at a good Canadian University this May. I've started the full-time job hunt and wanted your input on a couple of things:
  1. This is my resume for software, electrical engineering and technical product management roles (I have a slight variant for each): resume - Do you have any suggestions to improve it? I was able to get some good internships using my old resume, but that was two pages; I've left off a bunch of stuff and tried to compress it to one here, so this format is relatively untested for me.
  2. I realise this is a super general question, but how should I go about 'valuing' myself in the job market? Would appreciate any thoughts on what sorts of roles I'm actually competitive for and/or what sort of compensation I should be expecting (alternatively, any resources to learn about this and determine it for myself would also be really appreciated). I worked really hard in undergrad and do believe I would be an asset for at least entry-level roles based on my experience, but if I'm incorrect about that (i.e. there's a bunch of recent grads with the same sort of experience), then I would appreciate it if you could share that with me and what I could can do to improve and become competitive.
Thanks so much, appreciate your input!

2024.05.18 23:01 Tesa_Tesanovic1988 Blockchain tech can lift global GDP by 2% by 2030

Blockchain tech can lift global GDP by 2% by 2030
The potential of blockchain technology on economy and society has been a topic of much debate in recent years. A new report by Agile Dynamics sheds more light on the technology’s economic potential, estimating blockchain can increase the global gross domestic product (GDP) by some $2.1 trillion by 2030.
Launched just about fourteen years ago, blockchain technology has the potential to grow to be a bedrock of record-keeping systems, such as payments, transactions, currencies, and more.
Built on the pillars of cryptocurrencies (with Bitcoin the most well-known example), blockchain technology has evolved spectacularly since its early days. Today, blockchain offers a unique architecture that can securely maintain data on a distributed ledger and ensure that processes are run according to predetermined protocols.
https://preview.redd.it/1inrxgsd191d1.jpg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=806d5113ad33b00bd54ac52dac3721d5e8eb4423
While many blockchain-based applications and use cases are still in their infancy, the potential through further advancement and adoption is immense, according to research from management consulting firm Agile Dynamics. The firm’s researchers estimate blockchain will boost the global GDP by $2.1 trillion by 2030, with nearly half of this growth coming from emerging markets, particularly in Asia, South America, and Africa.
In comparison: $2.1 trillion is equivalent to 2% of the projected global GDP in 2030.

The benefits of blockchain?

There are numerous benefits that blockchain can offer to organizations, including enhanced security and transparency, reducing fraud, and ensuring traceability in transactions. Its decentralized nature fosters trust and efficiency, streamlining processes, and cutting costs for businesses.
The report shows that 75% of respondents to a survey see the reduction in operational costs as the primary benefit of blockchain. That is closely followed by 69% who expect improved speed and efficiency. Other benefits highlighted include enhanced security and privacy (57%), the promotion of innovation (51%), and the streamlining of financial processes (46%).
https://preview.redd.it/9z7k83ke191d1.jpg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=52a3f588dfa59c3c818b0e4f3b41c5bcce8cda20
Blockchain has the potential to reduce costs in many different areas of an organization, with Operations and IT seeing the most significant impact, while departments like Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Risk Management could also greatly benefit.
“Blockchain can be the most effective solution to embark on a technology sovereignty journey. By leveraging blockchain’s decentralization, data ownership, privacy, trust, and security, organizations can gain more control and autonomy over their technology infrastructure, reducing dependence on external entities and safeguarding their sovereignty,” said Paul Lalovich, managing partner at Agile Dynamics.
“By leveraging blockchain, you have the ability for more control and autonomy over your technology infrastructure and systems. This reduces dependence on external entities, and helps to safeguard your sovereignty. Blockchain is also a distinct and cost-effect means to stimulate innovation and foster growth.”

Use case: payments

Highlight payments as an example, Agile Dynamics highlights how organizations can save around $10 billion globally in cross-border payments by using blockchain technology. Besides a 40% to 80% reduction in costs related to money transfers, blockchain also makes the process faster and allows for better traceability and security.
The organizations who facilitate the payments process, banks and payment providers, will see their cost savings in the domain grow dramatically, to as much as $10 billion in 2030.
According to research from Capgemini, total digital transactions currently stand at 1.3 trillion, with that number to rise to 2.3 trillion by 2027. Hinting at the potential that blockchain may go government-backed mainstream, many central banks – including those of the UAE and Saudi Arabia – are currently exploring launching an own digital currency, built on the fundamentals of the blockchain concept.

The obstacles

In order to reap the more than $2 trillion in global benefits, the world will need to adopt blockchain at a much higher rate than currently being seen. Yet doing that will not be easy because there are still a list of obstacles to overcome.
For example, one major obstacle for blockchain technology to overcome is the ‘Blockchain Trilemma’, or in other words, the challenge of achieving three key criteria simultaneously: security, scalability, and decentralization. The research shows that a fully decentralized network that is both secure and scalable will be necessary for any blockchain application to succeed.

According to research, regulatory uncertainty is the most frequently cited barrier to blockchain adoption worldwide. About 48% of respondents ranked it as one of the top three barriers affecting their organization in the next three to five years, with 27% ranking it as the number one barrier.
Other challenges to further blockchain implementation include lack of awareness of blockchain and the benefits it offers, organizational difficulties or lack of cooperation that can hinder adoption, security and privacy concerns, and cost barriers to adopting blockchain technologies, among other issues.
The report comes at a time of cooling for the world of blockchain. A series of bubble-like rises followed by dramatic crashes of the cryptocurrency sector (such as the monumental collapse of crypto exchange FTX and cryptocoin Terra) have damaged trust and investor confidence in blockchain. Agile Dynamics’ report highlights that building trust and stability will be a key pillar of the sector’s forecasted path to growth.
Blockchain is also a distinct and cost-effect means to stimulate innovation and foster growth.” Use case: payments Highlight payments as an example, Agile Dynamics highlights how organizations can save around $10 billion globally in cross-border payments by using blockchain technology. Besides a 40% to 80% reduction in costs related to money transfers, blockchain also makes the process faster and allows for better traceability and security.

2024.05.18 23:00 AutoModerator What is #VALZUBIRIAGENDA and some ideas and insights

The 3 basic parameters of hashtag #Valzubiriagenda:

  1. We artists and everyone else can write and self-publish art- and artist-related books: memoirs, biographies, art books and art catalogs. Books are forever. Pamphlets and brochures are not books.
  2. We announce a schedule of increasing prices of our art pieces, which includes quantities (scarcity numbers) per price point and overall (the total quantity of art pieces we might ever make). This helps art traders, art investors and art collectors speculate or even stop speculating and instead join a community of investors working together to hopefully skyrocket to the higher announced prices in a shorter span of time.
  3. We can use the NFT world, because NFTs provide the tracking (who owns what) and trading.
We can also not be involved with NFTs. Stores and individuals can help sell art using online presence and our catalogs in the stores. If this trends, or once this trends, even expensive art can be sold by neighboring businesses, without exclusivity. Commission systems do not have to be standardized. Art investors can produce their own catalogs to leave at the cafés. Even the cafés can produce their own catalogs.
Valzubiriagenda NFTs
NFTs only came about a few years ago. But I had been working on this since the 1990s. I wrote a book, Valzubiriagenda, along with fellow artist Silverio Perez, and released it in 2018 (Amazon and elsewhere), tackling everything related to #1 & #2. We'll come up with #3 in a later book/ memoi marketing book.
Any artist, including tangible artists can release 10,000 NFTs if the artist chooses to do so. For tangible artists, the NFT first becomes an Art Commission Contract for sight unseen, yet-to-be made art. Once the art is made, the NFT becomes proof of ownership that the actual, tangible art is theirs.
Warehousing our tangible art
Another related idea is that the tangible art may be warehoused by the artist so that the NFT traders continue to trade. This means that even 10-ton 10-foot tall sculptures can be owned and traded by anyone without worrying about shipping, reshipping, scratches, smudges, parts breaking off, etc. The newness of the pieces remain because they are stored by the artist, source, gallery, etc. The art piece gets shipped to the art collector, the ultimate owner.
An artist who makes ceramic coffee mugs - smaller art pieces, can release 10,000 NFTs with a schedule of increasing prices so that NFT traders can trade immediately. The 10,000 coffee mugs can get damaged, so as they are made, they continue to be stored by the artist, until the time when art collectors decide to have the art pieces shipped to them.
Why only now?
I decided to write as many book-length memoirs as I can before I came out to promote this.
I'm an artist and an author. Both need time to "master." I would not even fully use "master" on myself, because there's always something new, even to my own art, my own writing and publishing.
I am now claiming that I'm the visual artist who has produced the most artist memoirs in the world. I have 5 on Amazon. I count Valzubiriagenda as both a marketing book and a memoir-of-sorts, because it has a lot of my own life lessons on writing and publishing. I would not care to contest my claim of having the most memoirs. I will release 5 more over the next 3 years.
BARTER! Get help to write, photograph art and publish your books!
Anyone can hire 11 ghostwriters for 11 memoirs. If you can make art, but you cannot write, then barter your forever art with those who can help you produce forever books.
I don't feel the pressure of writing and publishing because I feel my focus should be on art students and art experts who would study my art and my books 100 years from now. Don't expect relatives and friends to read your books.
I call myself the Dollman
For my NFTs, I am proposing to make dioramas - my original, costumed, bejeweled porcelain dolls in backdrops that will also have precious metals and gemstones. This way I can incorporate precious metals and gemstones in my work, to make sure that people perceive my art as expensive, just in case I myself don't become "famous" - there's no need to get world famous. We are artists and all we need to do is to satisfy the art niche.
Use your laptop now!
I will encourage you to start writing your book-length memoir. Write, Edit and then Self-publish it. Get help. Why wait a hundred years for someone to write about you when all you need is a laptop and a nearby coffee shop.
Don't start counting chickens before the eggs hatch. I have encountered a lot of would-be writers who immediately see themselves as bestselling. world famous assets to society. Two even wanted me to sign NDAs (Nondisclosure agreements), because they did not want me to steal their book ideas.
Here's a suggestion. I would not personally do it. From one manuscript can come 2 books: The Original Draft (unedited, with misspellings, considered to be an art piece, scanned pages(?) of your handwritten original effort), and The Final Edition (edited).
PROVENANCE!
Another way to enhance our investability, tradability and collectability is PROVENANCE - how art ownership proceeds through time. The way this can be done is also through publishing books. Everyone can write their memoirs, biographies, art books and art catalogs, including traders, investors and art collectors. In effect, we artists can continue to be included or mentioned in even more books, without any additional effort by us.
You as an investor, reseller, trader, art collector should be able to publish a catalog with 250 works by 250 different artists, but they need to agree to this right from the start - it's your money, you should require them to follow your version of the hashtag #valzubiriagenda parameters, which preferably should include permission for you to publish their art. Why would you track down 250 artists later?
No exclusive contracts
If you're a café, you can call for artists, and come up with a book with for example, 30 artists, with a chapter devoted to each artist's profile and images of the artist's art.
You can distribute your catalogs to businesses and individuals near and far and online.
The book Valzubiriagenda even cites that funeral homes and janitors closets can sell art, with or without exclusivity. Airline catalogs can include million dollar art pieces. Car manufacturers, showrooms and even car repair shops can sell art as well. Everyone should be able to do this, anywhere in the world, especially not just because of the pandemic, but right now, we are in really bad economies.
What's with the name #Valzubiriagenda
I was into conspiracy theories in 2018, and this term, "The Mandela Effect," was popular. I had read many times that an artist coined the term, but I had to research online, for her name, many times, before remembering it. I'm not good at remembering names. It took me a year and a half to finally tell you that Fiona Broome coined "The Mandela Effect."
I also thought I might have to research trademarks and copyrights just to come up with a generic name. So I decided on "Valzubiriagenda." I was not really sure at first, but I decided to use it as the title for my book (with co-authoartist Silverio Perez) so that there would be no turning back and I can move on.
Am I a FUTURIST?
Someone I recently met this May 2022 just called me a futurist.
In the 1990s, I proposed to a pension fund that they can raise billions of dollars, especially for emergencies, or as needed, or out of desperation, if the pension fund purchases a quantity of art from an artist who not only has a current, reasonable price, but an announced future price that the artist wants to reach.
That future price would obviously be higher than the current price. The art commission contract for multiple art pieces can be taken to the fund's financial lender for a loan. The higher future price can be used for financing purposes.
The pension fund's treasurer, a publicly elected official, said this idea might work, but we had to keep this a secret and discuss this some more, because other pension funds might copy and do this prematurely. This idea had to come from the two of us. The treasurer needed his votes and I needed credentials.
Added into the pot was my idea that I, as the artist, will also write one book-length artist memoir. This was and still is a strong factor, because the leadership and marketing books I had read then mentioned a strong tip. If you want to advance in your field, write a full-length book that is related to the field.
Unfortunately, the elected official, the treasurer of the pension fund, who was also a friend, passed away - he was old and had ailments. At that point in time, I cannot just approach another pension fund treasurer to share this idea with.
I realized I had to write a few memoirs. I needed to set an example for other artists, so I needed to write more than one memoir. Then I felt I should also make ready another book - the how-to of what I'm up to. I wrote Valzubiriagenda, which was a memoir of sorts. I knew how long it would take me to write a book, so I had to make sure I can also consider this book a memoir.
In 2008, I imagined that someone like Bernie Madoff, or a fund like Lehman Brothers, would be desperate enough to use this to save themselves and their companies. I was not ready. I had only written 1 manuscript for a memoir.
In 2012, I released Dollman the Musical, A Memoir of an Artist as a Dollmaker. Once again, I was not ready because writing it depressed me a little, and I knew I had to write more.
In 2014, I released 3 memoirs, and re-released Dollman the Musical. Besides releasing regular books, I released special editions of the 4 books, which had a "Special Secret Insert for Bankers," which explains my ideas of an announced schedule of exponentially increasing prices, to satisfy investors, and the publication of artist memoirs, to satisfy art collectors.
In 2014, I also issued out a press release. Google "Can Billion Dollar Artist Save Investors and World Economy Valentino Zubiri PRWeb August 19 2014" and you will see the press release.
What I did was stake a claim on my ideas. I did not promote my books and the press release. I just wanted them to stay online, like a sleeping giant or a dormant volcano. I even designed 3 of the book covers to look like indie books from the 1980s. I was planting the seeds, thinking they will eventually grow and bear fruit in the future.
In 2015, I was interviewed by Richard Syrett, about one of my memoirs, Hocus Pocus Lately. This book is my memoir with paranormal stories. I could have pursued promoting my paranormal stories, but I wanted to be known first as a visual artist and memoirist, so I allowed myself one interview related to Hocus Pocus Lately. Richard Syrett has(had?) his own syndicated radio show, The Conspiracy Show with Richard Syrett, about the paranormal. He also guest hosts on Coast to Coast AM, another internationally syndicated show about the paranormal.
In 2018, I released Valzubiriagenda (co-authored by artist Silverio Perez, a fellow artist). Finally, this book is "the how-to of what I'm to."
I'm going to end this with some strangeness. In 1986, a lady at a religious gathering went into a trance and left a good number of messages. Supposedly, anyone who got into a trance would have messages, but once the trance was over, the person would not remember what was said.
I was not part of the group, but the lady turned her head to face me. She "foretold" that whatever I would decide to do in the future, it will take time, but it will be the right thing. This is one of my stories in one of my memoirs, Hocus Pocus Lately.
The Tulipmania of 1634-37
I discovered that there was this incident of rare tulips becoming collectible during the Dutch Golden Age. There were tulips so rare and so well-desired that their prices equaled to that of a house. You can read more about this online (Wikipedia) or watch a few YouTube videos about it.
Here is the most useful idea that I gleaned from the Tulipmania. The tulip bulbs remained safe inside nurseries. The traders were carrying the deeds of ownership to the tulip bulbs.
Then NFTs came to the forefront
I started learning PHP, an HTML scripting language, and MySQL, the database that PHP can connect to in the background, in 1999, when there were only 3 books about PHP and MySQL at the bookstores.
By 2014, I was trying to figure out how to make the "ledger," or database that can be used to update ownership and who can be contacted. If we are trading art, then the art ownership should be updated.
Then NFTs came about. This can be used as our ledger. Everyone can immediately trade NFTs of future, yet-to-be made art pieces, especially because it takes time to make tangible art.
NFTs actually went a step ahead, by allowing digital art to be traded.
The only setback with NFTs, in my opinion, is that it still lacks a commission system for resellers and representatives.
For example, if a café wants to represent me, then they can promote me at their café and on their online pages. If I make one piece of art that will be exclusively represented by a gallery, then that commission will be different and more specific. As ownership is transferred, the subsequent owners should be able to reset the commission. We should also have the option of giving commissions to hundreds of representatives at one time with different percentages if need be.
The recent crypto crash
Lately, we have observed that NFTs and cryptocurrencies have been behaving like the stock market and other markets. They have been fluctuating.
I believe that it is time for a trend which discourages fluctuation of prices.
I have also seen YouTube videos where social influencers are encouraging us to be on the lookout for exponentially profitable ventures, because we have all seen this happen with the exponential increase of Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Let's see if #Valzubiriagenda trends
We can announce present and future art prices. The galleries won't do this (yet?) because they follow a more traditional approach to the business of art.
We have a choice of using incrementally or exponentially increasing prices. We still reserve the right to change things in the future, so everyone should know to follow the latest update.
If this trends, if you as an artist simply announces that you will write an artist memoir, or that you will include the future works in future art books, you might have more art traders, investors and collectors approaching you.
Get your pen, paper and calculator
Imagine yourself as an artist, where you are right now. Let's just say you still do not have a book about yourself and your art yet. Imagine now that you have a memoir out there. Don't you think it makes sense to charge more than what you are charging now? Writing and publishing books is just the beginning. I'm just standardizing this approach. The books also say to do other related projects. In my case, getting Dollman the Musical onstage is one idea. You will have other related projects, but the publication of memoirs, biographies, art books and art catalogs will help all of us.
You can also imagine that a law firm that has meeting rooms, with someone who wants to form a local #valzubiriagenda group, can have meetings. A local café can do the same. Local photographers for your art, writers, editors, book designers, proofreaders and others can join in.
I suggest have printed books to share. 15 copies of your memoir or art books will be better than an e-reader or laptop or your phone to show. These gadgets can be stolen, sabotaged, broken, have coffee spilled on them, etc. 15 printed books means simultaneously showing to 15 people. You can even give them away to potential resellers, investors, traders and collectors.
When it rains, it pours, as in the days of Noah
There's a saying, "When it rains, it pours." There is a negative interpretation and a positive interpretation.
Negative: When trouble comes, they cascade to even more.
Positive: When opportunity comes knocking, more follow suit. We can assume that if one gets our art because of #valzubiriagenda, more want to do it now, because of the rising prices, and FOMO - fear of missing out. What will they lose if they miss the boat?
As I have said earlier, if the #valzubiriagenda trends, if you announce a future memoir or art catalog, you might have an increase of investors, traders and art collectors who would want to check you out. You might encourage more sales. Just remember to write and publish that memoir and art catalog.
There's this saying, "As in the days of Noah." Imagine Noah, building his ark, with members of his own family, putting all his time and effort into it. Noah was a nice guy. I'm sure every once in a while a neighbor offered him coffee, or chai latte, or whatever refreshing drink they might have back then.
Here's the lesson to be learned. Just because they offered him some type of bubble tea drink, or coca cola, they still didn't make it to the ark. Rubbing shoulders with actors does not make you an actor. I have told my artist friends to write their memoirs. They told me that once they see me succeed, after all these many years of seeing my seemingly useless efforts, then they will write their memoirs and follow the road that I had paved for them.
Good luck to them, but if I were you, act now, get my art or make art. Support the 5-year old artist whose parent promised to release a comprehensive art catalog. If you get that 5-year old's art, and mine, I would be honored to be in the same art catalog that you will produce. I'm already successful at that point. You have gotten the mission just right.
I have already claimed to have written the most book-length artist memoirs in the world. Dethrone that claim. Barter. Use ghostwriters. Success to me means facing God one day and saying, I wrote my memoirs and left the world a legacy of books and art. I will not tell God, smiling and proudly, that I encouraged a run for my art by announcing a schedule of exponentially increasing prices that reached 9 figures. I'm sure God knows we had fun.

2024.05.18 23:00 ProBlockchainMedia Pink Drainer

The operators of the Pink Drainer cryptocurrency-stealing malware have announced that they are shutting down operations after stealing $85 million from over 21,000 victims.
According to experts' estimates, Pink Drainer has become one of the most prevalent among "drainer" attackers - malicious smart contracts that siphon cryptocurrency. Administrators of such software typically receive around 20-30% of the stolen funds, with the rest going to "partners" who lure victims to websites under various pretexts, offering to connect their cryptocurrency wallets (such as MetaMask or equivalents).
If a victim connects their wallet to such a site and approves a transaction, all assets available in that wallet are siphoned off. Typically, the drainer is embedded in copies of real cryptocurrency project websites or fake pages promising token airdrops or NFTs.
The administrators of Pink Drainer stated that they will destroy all infrastructure and data related to the project.

2024.05.18 22:59 agileideation Leading the Charge on Mental Health in the Workplace: A Guide for Leaders

As we navigate through Mental Health Awareness Month, I’ve been reflecting deeply on the role we play as leaders in shaping the mental health landscape of our workplaces. It's clear that leadership is not just about strategy and outcomes but also about cultivating an environment where mental well-being is a priority.
The Power of Vulnerable Leadership
Vulnerability in leadership isn’t about weakness; it’s about strength. Sharing our own mental health journeys can pave the way for others to feel safe doing the same. It’s about creating a space where the stigma around mental health is dismantled, one conversation at a time. But how do we start these conversations? And more importantly, how do we ensure they're constructive and lead to meaningful change?
Creating a Culture of Openness
Fostering an open dialogue around mental health is crucial. It involves more than just an open-door policy. It's about integrating mental health into everyday discussions, making it as normal to talk about as any work-related topic. Simple check-ins at the beginning of meetings or dedicated sessions to share and learn from each other’s experiences can make a significant difference.
Promoting Work-Life Balance
Work-life balance isn't just a buzzword; it's a critical component of mental health. Encouraging your team to take real breaks, disconnect after work hours, and set boundaries can help prevent burnout. It’s about leading by example—show your team that it’s okay to prioritize personal time.
Implementing Supportive Policies
Beyond the cultural aspects, tangible policies play a vital role. Whether it’s flexible working arrangements, mental health days, or access to professional mental health resources, these policies demonstrate a commitment to the well-being of your team.
Your Role and Impact
As leaders, our impact on mental health in the workplace is profound. It starts with us—how we act, how we lead, and how we support our teams. I’m curious to hear your thoughts and experiences in this area. How have you approached mental health advocacy in your leadership role? What strategies have you found effective? Let’s start a discussion that could not only help us grow as leaders but also inspire others to take meaningful action in their own workplaces.
Remember, you're not alone in this journey. If you're looking to enhance your skills in leading with empathy and supporting mental well-being in your organization, I'm here to help. Let's work together to create workplaces where everyone feels valued, supported, and understood.
Looking forward to your insights and stories!

2024.05.18 22:59 Adept-Entertainer-87 *important* Hi all Reddit users! I am wondering if anyone out there that uses facebook would be able to help me with an issue.

In high school, I had a “boyfriend” and I was only 14 years old. He made his facebook at the time with our names as the name. [EX: Carol N John]. There is also our pictures on there (not explicit; just normal ideal teenage couple photos of us hugging or standing next to one another). For YEARS I have been plagued by this facebook as its got everyone I know as a friend on it (literally even my brother) and its just an embarrassment and a reminder of a horrible time in my life (first loves are a mess when you’re newly heartbroken at 14😂).
I have asked said Guy in 2016 when he broke up with me to please take down the photos and delete them. He wouldn’t. He hated me so much that he could not wait the 60 days to change the name back. So he made a whole new facebook account. Then he claimed that he forgot the password and e-mail to the account. So its just been sitting there for years.
Guy now has a new Wife and a new baby (i relish in the karma that the baby is a girl. If yk, yk) and I have had 0 contact with Guy for years, so I messaged his wife (because why message the Guy, and not the wife thats weird).. they did nothing/said nothing.
I have messaged facebook several times, reporting the page is my hobby, I have built a small army of my friends to report it, facebook will NOT take it down.
The question here is, what do I do now? Do I have any legal ground to take with this? Do I have to take it that far? Help.

2024.05.18 22:59 TheHarryPotterGeek Episode 2: A World Revealed

The trio stood in awe, their eyes wide with amazement as they took in the bustling magical world around them. People flew through the air on broomsticks, and animated conversations about dragons filled the air. Shops sold wands, potions, and magical creatures. The vibrant, bustling atmosphere was unlike anything they had ever seen.
Lily Everwood: "This... this can't be real. How is any of this possible?"
Toby Fletcher: "I don't like this, guys. This is too much. What if we're dreaming?"
Fin Sparks: "Calm down, both of you. Look around! We need to figure out where we are and what this place is."
As they continued to explore, Fin noticed a moving newspaper underfoot. He picked it up, and the images on the front page moved, showing scenes of magical events. Lily and Toby freaked out, but Fin kept his cool, trying to calm them.
Fin Sparks: "Look, everything here is different, but we have to stay calm. Let's see if we can find someone who can explain all this."
They noticed a group of people listening to a guide, so they sneaked closer to join them. The guide was explaining the basics of the magical world, including the currency, customs, and places.
Tour Guide: "Welcome to Diagon Alley, the heart of the magical world! Here you'll find shops for wands, potion ingredients, and everything a witch or wizard needs. And of course, the currency here is Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts."
As the guide spoke, Fin's attention drifted to a boy in the distance who looked oddly familiar. Before he could get a closer look, the boy vanished from sight. Fin rejoined his friends just as the guide started talking about Hogwarts.
Tour Guide: "Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is one of the finest magical schools in the world. It has four houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. And yes, we must not forget about the dark times brought by Voldemort, who still poses a threat to our world."
Suddenly, they spotted someone familiar—Sanjay, a boy from their neighborhood. Sanjay saw them, and his eyes widened in shock. He grabbed Fin's hand and hurried them into a secluded alley, with Lily and Toby close behind.
Sanjay: "What the heck are you doing here, Fin? This place is dangerous if you don't know your way around!"
Fin Sparks: "Sanjay, we saw this stranger who gave us a bag, and then... we ended up here. We don't even know how it happened!"
Sanjay sighed, realizing the seriousness of the situation. He looked around nervously before addressing them.
Sanjay: "Okay, listen carefully. This is the magical world. It's hidden from Muggles—non-magical people like us. How did you end up here without knowing about it?"
Lily, curious as ever, opened the small pouch they had received from the stranger. The pouch suddenly disappeared in a puff of smoke, causing all four of them to jump back in surprise.
Lily Everwood: "What just happened? Where did it go?"
Sanjay: "Calm down. That was a portkey, a magical object used for transportation. The fact that you ended up here means... you're probably wizards or witches."
Fin's eyes sparkled with excitement as he realized what Sanjay was saying. Lily and Toby exchanged glances, still processing everything.
Sanjay: "Only a magical person can enter this world without knowing it or without proper guidance. That means you three have magic in you."
Lily Everwood: "This is incredible... but also confusing. What are we supposed to do now?"
Fin Sparks: "If we're here, it means we belong. We have to explore this world and learn more about it."
Sanjay then mentioned Voldemort and Harry Potter, sparking Fin's curiosity.
Fin Sparks: "How do we get rid of Voldemort? Is there a way?"
Sanjay: "The only person who can truly defeat Voldemort is Harry Potter. He's the one who has faced him and survived multiple times."
All Three (Fin, Lily, Toby): "Who?"
Sanjay explained the history of Voldemort and Harry Potter, detailing their legendary battles and the hope Harry represented for the magical world. He also mentioned that students who are late bloomers can be accepted into Hogwarts in their fifth year, which was around their age.
Sanjay: "You guys are fifteen, right? That means you could start at Hogwarts in your fifth year. If you're interested, I can teach you some basic magic to get you ready."
Lily's face lit up with excitement, but she was still torn between the two worlds.
Lily Everwood: "This sounds amazing, but... is it the right thing to do? Should we leave our world behind?"
Fin Sparks: "If we're not wizards, we wouldn't be here. This is our chance to find out who we really are."
After a serious discussion lasting 15-30 minutes, where they weighed their options and expressed their fears and hopes, all three finally agreed.
Lily Everwood: "Alright. Let's do this. Let's learn magic."
Toby Fletcher: "Yeah, let's give it a shot. This might be the adventure of a lifetime."
Fin Sparks: "We're in this together. Let's find out what being wizards really means."
As they made their decision, the trio felt a mix of excitement and apprehension, ready to embark on a new journey into the unknown.
Sanjay's Explanation: "Alright, let me break it down for you. The magical world has been hidden from Muggles—non-magical people like us—for centuries. We have our own schools, governments, and societies. Hogwarts is one of the best schools for young witches and wizards. Each house there has its own unique qualities: Gryffindor for the brave, Hufflepuff for the loyal, Ravenclaw for the wise, and Slytherin for the ambitious.
"Voldemort is a dark wizard who terrorized our world. Harry Potter is the boy who lived, the one who survived an attack by Voldemort as a baby. He's been fighting against him ever since. Our world is full of magic and danger, and it's not something to be taken lightly. But if you truly are wizards, you have a place here, and you can learn to harness your magic."
Fin listened intently, feeling a sense of purpose he had never felt before. This was his chance to understand the strange occurrences in his life and to belong to a world he never knew existed.
Lily Everwood: "I always knew there was something special about you, Fin. Maybe this is where we're meant to be."
Toby Fletcher: "Yeah, and if we're going to do this, we'll do it together. Like we always have."
With their minds made up, the trio braced themselves for the adventures that lay ahead. They knew it wouldn't be easy, but with Sanjay's guidance and their newfound determination, they felt ready to face whatever challenges the magical world had in store.

2024.05.18 22:58 JPaulo1702 Finances

How do you manage your finances ?
For example, I try hard to keep the wages the most lower possible. Usually, I do a save with FC Porto and we pay some millions per month of debt and then, the money that we usually made monthly is not enough. But then, yeah, the sales and everything usually put the account on green.
However, I’ve been thinking and I try to always keep the wages down, even if I have like 600 millions positive in the club. And even if I make profit every single seasons. But, if you want to grow , is normal that the wages increase because of hiring better players. For one side, it doesn’t fell real. But for other, it makes some sense.
How do you usually do it ?

I just got a complete freeze while playing and when I refreshed the page I had to login again. When I logged in, I only had one savefile from a week ago. All my unlocked starters and shinys are gone.
Has anyone experienced this before? I assume there is no fix for this but Im coping right now.
