Hello! I’m looking for anyone that is experienced in American Traditional tattoos. The design I had in mind specifically is St. Michael defeating the devil. Ideally with no shading, just lines. Willing to pay $20 an hour. And if I like the work, more than likely you will have a repeat customer. Thank you!

2024.05.18 11:55 Fit_Musician7622 Ideas for finishing a sleeve.

This is my first tattoo, obviously I need to get it touched up as it’s faded a bit but I’m also trying to figure out what I want to do when it comes to finishing my sleeve. Current plans are once I’m out of the military and can go lower to add St Michael standing on the devil like he’s supposed to but I have no real idea besides religious theme for what to do for the 3-4 inches on back of my forearm or the rest of my bicep, tricep and shoulder areas. Any ideas or suggestions would be awesome!

It was on NBC Thursday night, their comedy night. I always watched.
When I was a kid, my parents watched the office when it was on right before 30 Rock. They didn’t watch 30 Rock, but they’d leave the TV on for background noise. 30 rock came on after bedtime for me, but I was a curious and devious 9-year-old, so I would sneak out of bed and watch the living room tv from the upstairs landing until I got caught. The furthest I ever got into an episode was about 10 minutes and I always wanted to watch more of the show. As an adult, I finally got the chance to watch full episodes, and I’ve watched the series through multiple times since.
The show started when I was in high school and my friends loved it. That's how I knew about it, but I didn't actually watch it until a couple years after college when I saw it on Netflix.

I was doing a study abroad program in the South of France and was frantically torrenting any American show I could because of the homesickness. I watched the first episode of season 1 and was booked before she had finished giving away all the hot dogs. Binged through all of the first season (I'm originally from the Cleveland area, so all of the Cleveland positivity toward the end had me giddy!) and then season 2 began and I faithfully got the episode every week... Then the writers strike happened :(
I watched the first season AT LEAST 25 times through before I came back to the USA. And several dozen more times (plus all the other seasons) since!

2024.05.14 20:54 Phinoutte Barely 30 ep in thoughts if anybody might have fun reading this...

Just finished the « Cheating death » episode, can't stop thinking about elements of this series.
I will still not look at the other posts of this sub or any other thread related to the fandom until I've finished watching but here are some of my after thoughts regarding the episodes I've watched so far.
Obviously I don't want any actual answer to any of the questions I will write below because that's just what I'm currently wondering about and explaining any part of it would most definitely spoil me.
So, I've started to take notes about things seeming more important than the rest : some people's names, places, groups, weird things mentioned or said. Mostly things bugging me. But unfortunately I've started doing it around episode 9, very lightly at the time. So I feel like I'm not putting some parts together even if I could probably do so if I've started writing down elements at the beginning. (I never thought the stories would be intertwined but they do.) There's a few stories without a connection to any other, at least not that I've gathered but all the others are somewhat linked. Might it be all the creepy books of Lietner. Several forms of “living” darknesses. Jane Prentice and all the flesh hive business. All the strange impostors posing as humans, especially since some seems to be related, some don't [whatever the heck is “Michael” seems related to ep 3, if not directly what Graham became. There seems to be so many stretched out figures with unnaturally long limbs in this show but so far, not all of them appear to me as part of the same faction ? / Species ? I don't know how to say it.] Also, Michael ?! What ?! Why ?! Friendly (?) at least non aggressive eldritch horror... For now I suppose ?! And I'm not hallucinating by thinking the Jane Prentice hive is basically playing a stalker death trap game with any members of the Archives at this point, right ? Just messing with them for it's fun ? ←I would actually like a simple yes or no answer to these last 2 questions.
Also, why are there eyes EVERYWHERE ?!?! An eye on the pamphlet of the weird cult (which, so far, I suppose is the Cult of the divine host, even if I have no fucking idea about what that really entails), Gerald Key as a lot of eyes tattoos, it's on the pendants mentioned, on the video footage of the nurse story, etc etc.
The Lightless flame definitely feels like the name of something but we haven't heard of it again since the first time it was mentioned.
So, the crimson fate talked about by Jane Prentice Flesh hive is basically a form of apocalypse, right ? I don't know how to interpret that otherwise at the moment.
I just have so many questions and theories. Some are stupid but I feel some of them might actually, not necessarily be correct because I feel like this is a deeply complicated set of stories, but be on the right path ?
It's not just the fears that are shared between episodes, the themes too. Fire, eyes, any forms of undeath, books, flesh and bones tales, music, (dark) magic, darkness, spiders, infections, supernatural impostors, mysterious disappearances, coffins, death, strange swirling patterns, knocks, murders, being isolated or trapped against will, “mind controlled”.
I've seen somewhere on the internet before the sentence « If you have a fear, the Magnus Archive has an episode for you. » or something close. I haven't listened to any really triggering me at the moment. But looking at the titles of the episodes to come of the full playlist, I know I would probably hate the « Boatswain's call », « High pressure » and « Too deep » ones (Yes, I have thalassophobia).
Edit : I think I will continue to post my theories or what's new I picked up from time to time while watching this. I don't know when, probably just when I will feel like I've enough new things to add to all of this post. But if some of you would like to see the next ones, just remember my pseudo, it would be somewhere on this thread (I don't know what flair would be appropriate, Theories maybe ?). I would very gladly exchange with you about this nice show. Plus the more episodes I watch, the more we could potentially talk opening without risking to spoil things on my end (I would absolutely hate that and want to avoid it at any cost).

My new tattoo
So, after 4 hours of my artist's work and some blood of my own, there's my Crowley snake at last. I'm quite happy with the result, I already had a few tattoos but it's the first this big and the first one with colors. I'm loving it 😊😃 Please, show me your GO themed tattoos, or any tattoos you have, or if you have none show me any David or Michael pornography you like 😅😋

2024.05.12 06:05 CheechnChongg1995 Being alt/goth/whatever in retail

Today at work at Michaels, it was an activity for kids day. had kids colodecorate wooden frames for mothers day, I had about 4 kids and an adult do one. It was fun! Well. A lady that checked out at the self check comes up to it telling them how cute it was, then she sees me she says: you're a Halloween girl aren't you? Me not knowing it was a back handed compliment yet: yes I love it! Her: well if you look like THAT, of course you do. She walks out thinking she hurt me: the costumers doing the make break were so pissed for me but all I could do is laugh. This bitch looked like one of district one members of Hunger Games, poofy hair ridiculous outfit, like bitch shut up. I'm about to dress more goth/alt just to piss these mfs off more. I also had a very light alt outfit on today too! I don't get people and backhanded compliments. It was honestly my first rude comment there about my tattoos/septum/outfit there besides a pamphlet I was gave months ago, it was worse at Walmart. I chose this life I know.

2024.05.10 21:10 CardGamesOnMotor Record Of Rapture 0:1 - Ragnarok... Again

A thousand years have passed since humanity escaped their judgment day. An amount of blood, sweat, and tears that rivaled mount Olympus hadn’t been for not, as humanity lived on. Not to forget the lives of the valkyrie’s who had betrayed and perished during the fights bonded to their human. Göll was one of the lucky valkyries to see the end of Ragnarok. The same couldn’t be said about the same about her sisters, including her eldest sister, Brunhilde. Having given their lives fighting the gods… And yet today it may be undone. The Valhalla Council had gathered once again to decide humanity’s fate.
Göll wasn’t concerned about this… At first. The opinion of humanity had been raised in general since the end of Ragnarok thanks to their showing in said event. The problem then? Well, there was always a contingent of gods who still looked down upon humanity. Doubling down after the loss of certain gods during the first Ragnarok, further fueling the disdain of those gods. Even so, Zeus, the chairman of the council, wouldn’t let this happen, right? If nearly losing to Adan taught him anything, it was humanity could stand on equal footing to the gods. Yeah, it would be alright! Ragnarok wouldn’t come to pass–
“Move it, Valkyrie!” Göll was nearly knocked over by someone from her blindspot. Not a strike or a physical attack, just being shoulder bumped, hard. Göll catches herself before she ends up in a makeout session with the ground. Her eyes catch the culprit behind this, a tall man with a lean but muscular build along with red skin. With five taiko drums hovering behind his back. “Oh, it’s you… Quite the nerve you have showing up.”
Göll grits her teeth, her hands balling up into fists. The taller god, Raijin, smirks, “Oh come on, every god in the council room knows you’re too scared to do what your older sister did. And what a disappointment too, I was looking forward to finally getting my turn.” “H-Hey! Shut it!” Göll barks at him, she had grown from that young, naive valkyrie she was years ago, both physically and mentally. “Besides, the gods aren’t voting to eliminate humanity again.”
“...Pfffftttt,” Raijin begins to laugh, barely holding back the tide of laughter. “You seriously think it ain’t happening again? With Lord Izanagi’s plan, it’s going down whenever you like it or not.”
“You annoying god!” Göll curses. “Why I oughta–”
“Ooooh! Someone’s getting feisty! Come on, I’ll let you take the first swing.” Raijin taunts, moving his head into Göll’s personal space. Allowing the valkyrie to see the large horns jutting out of his head and sharp teeth.
“Enough. Both of you,” Came a third voice, patrolling down the hallway would be a blonde man, wearing silver armor with gold lining on it. A golden cross embroidered onto his chest plate and a sword holstered on his back. “The meeting is starting shortly, so hurry along Raijin, I doubt Lord Izanagi wants to hear someone from his pantheon causing a delay.”
Raijin scoffs, “Screw off you damn Arcangel, acting all high and mighty–I hate that crap… But fine, this little twerp ain’t worth my time. See ya never!” He adds, before making his way down the hallway. Michael merely spares a glance at Göll, before following down the hall. Göll stood, jaw slack, having to recollect herself quickly. Did that just happen? Did she really just threaten a god? And was saved by another one?
“...Wow, I’m getting farther than I thought,” Göll remarks. “Still, humanity needs me, I can’t let them down!”
Raijin slips his way into the council room, a tall room with rows and rows of gods chatting amongst each other. All surrounding one central desk where the chairperson sat and spoke about issues facing heaven and–Damn, he was boring himself already and the meeting hadn’t even begun yet. This was going to suck–
“You’re late,” Hachiman, the Shinto God of war comments as Raijin plops down into the seat next to him.
“We begin in three minutes and thirteen seconds.”
“You kept an account of the seconds? You’re really as uptight as they come,” Raijin mocks. “Now, where’s Fujin? He’s going to make this bearable if things go bland.”
“He’s doing the job you shrugged off,” Hachiman points out. “The important one, you know?”
“...Right,” Raijin signs. “Well, at least this should be good.”
A wave of silence comes over the hall of gods as the god position at the desk at the head of the room stands. A dark-haired man with a short beard of similar color wearing a traditional navy haori with gold trimmings. Flanking his desk would be two of his own children, Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. Amaterasu would stand to Izanagi’s right, wearing a bright yellow and red kimono with a sun embroidered onto her obi belt. While Tsukuyomi wore a pale blue hanten with their obi holding their katana, the name of which escaped Raijin. But the Shinto god of thunder and lightning did recognize these were the heads of his pantheon, more or less.
“Very well, let us begin,” Izanagi says, folding his arms. “I won’t keep you all long, as preparations have already begun. But I will make my intention clear: Humanity will come to an end.”
Murmurs break out among the collected gods before Izanagi raises his hand, silencing the room once again. “I know the opinion of humanity has been raised since the previous Ragnarok. But I believe the murderous filth has been raised to a degree higher than they deserve. May I remind this very room that they’re are empty seats which once were filled thanks to humanity. My own son, Susano-o, lost his life against a so-called ‘manslayer’. Do I need to go on?”
The room was somehow even quieter than it was before, with eyes lingering on the empty seats, mostly around the Greek section, belonging to Hercules, Poseidon, and Hades. Two of which were considered head gods in their own rights, and Hercules being universally beloved by most. By the avoidant eyes of most of the Greek gods and goddesses, the losses were still felt to this day. However, one goddess would stand up, adored with a spartan-like helmet, a cape, and golden armor similar in spartan nature akin to her helmet.
“Lord Izanagi, if I may,” Athena calls out. “On behalf of the twelve olympians, we do agree the loss of our fellow gods has taken a toll on our pantheons. However, humanity had also lost their own champions in Ragnarok, and this additional bloodshed isn’t going to fix anything.”
“Ah, wise words from the mind of Olympus,” Izanagi nods. “But truthfully, this goes beyond petty blood feuds. Humanity’s existence hasn’t improved much since the last one, they’ve become stagnant.”
“And while some have returned to their ways,” Athena argues. “A vast majority have taken the previous Ragnarok as a wake up call, and have changed.”
“Bah! You think the bastards that killed my Dad and brother can change?” Spoke Baldr, a shirtless blonde god with various rune-like tattoos on his body.
“...Forgive me for not holding my tongue, but hasn’t your relationship with both forementioned parties been… tumultuous?” Athena asks.
“Pffft, I hated both, but my point still stands,” Baldr remarks, kicking his feet up. “I’m not the one who’s going to be fighting if Ragnarok happens.”
“Who says Ragnarok should happen?” Came the voice of Ra, the Monarch of the Sun himself, standing tall the bird-like god makes his thoughts known. “I say we kill humanity out alright, those warmongers don’t deserve to escape again.”
“Now hold on,” Shiva interjects, the head Hindu god resting on in his seat yet holding a finger up. “Some of us didn’t risk our lives to go the coward’s way. Besides Ra, didn’t your guy win his round?”
“Anubis simply did his job,” Ra shook his head. “We’ve risked the lives of our fellow gods too many times. Just because you’re a battle hungry idiot doesn’t mean we all are.”
“Why you over grown chicken–”
And like that, things had broken down in the meeting, as bickerings and arguments broke out all around. Izanagi signs, “And here I thought this would’ve been simple. I see why Zeus retired last year, that rotten bastard.”
“Please Father, just let them get their childish squabbles out of their systems,” Amaterasu says. “Thought it may be a few minutes before–”
CLINK
Silence again. With everyone’s eyes focusing upon one god, having dropped a glass chess plate of a king. Reaching a clawed hand to grab it, Chernobog looks around, his yellow eye being the only visible thing from his black cloak, which covered most of him. He sits back in his chair, placing the cracked glass king on the middle of the board. “If I may.”
Izanagi gives a caution nod, “Go on.”
“Humanity is strong. No one here will debate that if they aren’t delusional,” Chernobog explains. “And killing them outright would be the safe route. Engaging in a second Ragnarok would give us the chance to inflict the kind of damage you can’t repair easily.”
Izanagi is silent for a moment, before grinning, “Not bad, so then, all in favor of eliminating the scum who plague the earth?”
Göll twitches with every ‘I’ she hears from the council room. Every hope that it wouldn’t happen was fleeing her body like a burning building. She lifts a shaky hand to the door of the council room, feeling the intricate carvings of the brass door knob against her hand. It felt it was cutting into her as her sweaty palms fails to find any grip to grasp the door. She was going to let it happen. She was going to let this slip through her fingers. She was going to let humanity down. She was going to let her sister down.
“Excuse me, young one, but you’re blocking the doorway and I have business to attend to… Göll?” A voice comes from behind her, peering over her shoulder, her eyes becoming wide upon seeing who was looming over her.
“You’re… You’re…” She stutters, normally the presentence of this person wouldn’t be so overwhelming, but the crushing weight of her emotions wasn’t helping.
“...Oh, they’re going for it I presume?” The figure asks, the shadow from their wings shrinks as said wings fold behind their back. “Perfect, it seems I was not a moment too late. Well then, please move, I have an objection to make.”
“One hundred one, one hundred two, one hundred three, one hundred four…,” Izanagi counts, turning his glance towards Tsukuyomi. “Well?”
“One hundred four to ninety six in favor of destroying humanity,” Tsukuyomi replies. “Seems all that grandstanding didn’t matter.” They snicker.
Izanagi nods, before announcing into the council, “With a vote of one hundred four to ninety six, humanity shall be erased! I thank you all for voting–and I do apologize if your vote didn’t make it, but this is the council’s rule. So without further ado, unless there’s a future ado…”
A beat passes as anticipacion-filled eyes meet and lock among the gods.
“Then humanity is–”
OBJECTION!”
The room goes silent as the sound of the door slamming against the hinges, as one figure stands tall on top of the stairs. Adorned in a robe with prismatic colors with a hexagon symbol near his chest area. As his white, feathery wings sit neatly on his back, he stares down at Izanagi. The head of the Shinto pantheon doesn’t take their eyes off of the newcomer, his mouth forces itself into a smile.
“Seraphim Metatron, how may I help you?” Izanagi asks.
“You may help me indeed, I’ve heard the fate of humanity wasn’t looking too bright,” Metatron replies. “And it seems I could pardon a guess why.”
“The vote has gone through,” Izanagi explains. “And even if I graciously allow you to vote, it wouldn’t change the outcome. Can I help you with anything else–”
“As the Seraphim of Heaven, I’d disagree with that judgment,” Metatron retorts, crossing his arms. “It is my responsibility to watch over humanity, and I can’t let them die.”
“The vote happened already, I’d suggest you get out of father’s way,” Amaterasu remarks, side-eyeing the angel. “There’s nothing you can do.”
“Oh? Nothing?” Metatron asks, with a smirk and a raised eyebrow.
“...And what are you getting at?” Tsukuyomi asks, their hand fiddling with their katana at their side.
“Ragnarok,” Metaron raises his hand. “Thirteen gods, thirteen humans. If humanity wins, they live, if humanity loses… Well, I’ll accept their fate.”
“...Do you really believe father would be so childish to give into threats?” Amaterasu snarks. “Shame on you for daring to joke about such a thing.”
“Bold to assume I would kid about such a thing,” Metatron counters. “I take my duty seriously.”
“Yet not your role, which you should know,” Tsukuyomi interjects. “Back down, angel.”
“And why should I?” Metatron asks. “Are the almighty gods… Scared?”
Whatever remaining sound within the council quickly dies down as the gods stare at Metatron. Hachiman grips his bow in contempt as Raijin cocks an eyebrow. Ra clenches his fist, a scowl paints itself on his avian face. Baldr leans back in his seat, seemingly unimpressed by Metatron’s challenge. The same couldn’t be said for the other Shinto gods, the collective glare from Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi was enough to make a minor shake in their boots. Izanagi on the other hand… Well.
CRACK
In a single, swift motion, Izanagi had brought down his hand on the desk so hard he had broken it in half. The look he gives the head angel was enough to intimidate even his own children, if Tsukuyomi’s shuddering was anything to go by.
“...A god’s pride is not a thing to toy with, angel,” Izanagi retorts. “But if you’re so pompous to question it… Then fine, I’ll bring humanity to its knees myself.”
Metatron just smirks in relaliation, “Very well, I’ll do what humanity has already done: expose you gods for once and for all.”
Well, that was the hardest part of Metatron’s job done, with Ragnarok declared, he just needs to assemble his roster and everything will go smoothly. Nothing was going to get into his way now… Or, at least that’s what he thought.
“How did you do that? Why did you do that? How could you do it? Where do you get it from? Where do your clothes come from?” Göll bombarts him with questions.
“Young one, please, there is no need for an interrogation,” Metatron chuckles. “I’m simply doing my duty as Seraphim.”
“Y-Yeah, I know,” Göll replies. “But still, you risked a lot going against a chief god…”
“What good of a protector would I be if I didn’t risk my very being to do my job?” Metaron asks. Göll stares at him, a shine in her eyes, “..Wow, you’re really amazing! I wish I could be like you…. Could I at least help you in Ragnarok?”
Metatron chuckles again, “Thank you, young one, and of course! I’d argue there’s no one better suit to in heaven to do so.”
Göll smiles before asking, “...So, who are we going to choose to fight in the first round then?”
“Wonderful question,” Metatron nods. “Truth be told… I have a few picks in mind, but without direct access to the Cherubim Archive I can’t say for sure.”
“Cherubim archive?” Göll questions.
“Well, it’s a device that allows one to–”
“STAY PUT!” A shout comes from down the hallway, from the Heavenly Record room. Metatron’s eyes go wide.
“Michael…!” Metatron whispers, making his way towards the room, Göll legging it behind him. The ornate doors of the Heavenly Record room were nearly blown wide open by Metatron’s entrance. His eyes move to see Michael, sword pointed firmly at another figure within the room. One that both Metatron and Göll recognized, even if the latter took a moment to recognize him. He… he had been so young only a thousand years ago, such lifely and youthful eyes, if they only looked like that now.“...Y-You!?” Göll stutters. “What happened?”
“Stay back valkyrie! He is a very dangerous individual,” Michael interjects. “I was coming in here to make sure nothing had been tampered with, only to find him!”
Metatron blinks, looking between his cohorts… Before turning to the blonde man with a dash of red in his hair.
“...I don’t care what your plan is, or was. I’m going to fight in Ragnarok, and I’m going first.”

2024.05.09 20:24 No_Contract_9868 Sooner then Expected: Scooby-Doo 1.1 Chapter Two

Chapter 2: Detention
The four vehicles parked in the school’s parking lot. Fred, Shaggy, Velma, and Daphne barely knew each other. But this moment was a turning point in their lives, for better or worse. The four entered Coolsville High, barely noticing each other. Fred went to the locker room, Shaggy to the janitor’s closet, Velma to the science lab, and Daphne to the cosmetology lab. Fred was stopped by a cheerleader with bright blonde hair. She was Shanon Wetherby, descendant of William Weatherby. He was a rich benefactor and one of Coolsville’s founding fathers. “Why didn’t you call me last night? I was waiting for you.” she said, running her hand across his chest. Fred swatted her hand away. “It was a mistake, Shanon.. You're with Red. I-” as he began, a man grabbed him and slammed him into the wall. He had dark red hair and wore a green vest, white tank top, and torn jeans. He also had a tattoo of a heart with a knife through it on his bicep. His name was Redford Harrington. Red for short. “You think you can sleep with my girl and get away with it, you motherfucker!” Red yelled, punching Fred in the gut. Fred fell before getting up just to get punched in the face. “STAY DOWN, JONES!” Red yelled. As Fred felt the blood drip from his nose, he got up as Red turned away. “Hey, Red.” Fred said. As he turned around, Fred punched him in the face, breaking his nose and knocking him out. Just then, the team’s coach, Jax Minner, walked in. “The hell?! JONES! OFFICE! NOW!” he yelled. Fred got his bag and moved down the hall.
Daphne was working in the car shop, trying to perfect the new engine she had developed. A universal piece, it was a twin-pump engine that could ionize the fuel, supercharging it to allow increased speed. At base, the engine could push a car to 500 mph, a van to half that. She was tightening a bolt on another specialized part when her stuff caught fire. Daphne quickly used the extinguisher. It was too late, as the sprinkler went off. Meanwhile, Shaggy was sitting in the closet of the science lab. Outside, Velma Dinkley was working on a science project with several of her classmates: Gibby Norton, Marcie Fleach, Howard Roberts, and Verona Dempsey. Gibby was an expert in robotics. Since he was a kid, he was building little trinkets out of tv and car parts. Right now, he was working on an advanced reflective fabric. Its planned use was to make an invisible suit. There was Marcie, an expert chemist. Between her experiments with rare elements from the Coolsville mines and her advanced aphrodisiac called Aphrodite’s Kiss, she was a genius. At the moment, she was working on a form of super helium. Strong enough to make titanium float like a feather. Unfortunately, it had the distinct smell of hot dog water. There was Howard, an amateur musician. He loved sound, and loved the work of H.P Haitcroft. Specifically his novel The Shrieking Madness of Char Gar Gothakon. Using this as inspiration, he began working on the military application of sonic energy, namely with the S.C.E.A.M (Sonic Resonance Cannon/Electrically Anodized Mask). It was a mask protected by an electric field, essentially anodizing it. This was done to shielded the wearer from the helmet's emitters, which emitted powerful sonic pulses as a form of echolocation. It could be redirected to release the sonic energy as a weaponized blast.
Lastly, there was fashion expert Verona Dempsey. She was incredibly jealous of Velma. She was working on an unstable fabric that could stretch infinitely. They all had job offers: Gibby from the Crownley Corporation. Marcie from Quest Labs, Howard from Destroido Corp., and Verona from Blake Fashion. Everyone had somewhere to go but Velma. She was developing a radar sensor built to track paranormal signatures. But she never got it to work. Shaggy found it cool. He sat in the closet, smoking a blunt. Usually, this would go unnoticed. But Verona was well aware of Shaggy’s habit. As soon as Shaggy lit his blunt, the fire sprinklers went off. Most projects were fine: the electric field on the SCEAM protected it, water can’t really affect helium, and the fabrics were waterproof. But Velma’s short circuited, causing a fire. Shaggy fumbled out of the closet to help her out. “Jinkies! How long have you been there?!” she said in shock. Everyone but the two have left the room. Shaggy instinctively poured water on it, causing it to spread. “Like, shit, man!” he yelled as the science teacher, Professor MIchael Pomfrit, came in and put it out. “BOTH OF YOU! OFFICE! NOW!” he yelled, pointing to the hall. The same thing occurred with Daphne by the school mechanic Max Minner.
The same four kids who entered the school were now walking to Principal Deedle’s office. “Fighting, two fires, and smoking weed.” he said, rubbing his brow. “How the hell did you four manage to cause so many problems this early in the morning?” he said. “Like, bad luck.” Shaggy said. Deedle shook his head. “Detention. Tonight. But first, the Sheriff requested your help. Consider it community service. Right outside of town, there was an….accident. A suit of armor was being transported to the museum. It didn’t make it. The police don’t have enough room to transport it. I believe Mr. Rogers has a van.” he said. “You gotta be kidding me, this is cruel and unusual punishment.” Fred said. “The Sheriff said he would wave your assault charges and Mr. Rogers’ charges of possession and using an illegal substance.” Deedle responded. Fred sighed. “Have fun, kids.” he said, dismissing them. The day proceeded as normal, except for two things. One, Fred was shunned. Everybody looked at him like he was a bad guy. Secondly, at the end of the day, the four got a call. When they answered, they heard the same message. “Mysterium Incorporatus. Reprehendo Vehiculum.” Then it hung up. “My latin is rusty. But it sounds like Mystery Incorporated. Check the vehicle. Does he mean-?” Velma said The four looked to each other and ran to Shaggy’s van. As they opened the back door, they saw Scooby-Doo passed out on the carpet. On the dash, was an envelope with a wax seal of a question mark. Fred opened the envelope. It read: Dear children. My name is Vincent Van Ghoul. You may know me from my books. But that’s part of the story. Monsters are real. My organization, Mystery Incorporated, is dedicated to protecting the world from the supernatural. But, we’re stretched thin. So I come to you with an offer. Join the cause. But I understand skepticism. Go to the malt shop. Follow this through to the end. Sincerely, Vincent Van Ghoul. “Raggy, rhat's rong.” Scooby-Doo asked, waking up. “I don’t know dude. But things are getting weird.” Shaggy said. “Fred, I’m too baked to drive. Can you?” he asked. Fred nodded as everyone loaded into the car. Velma started tweaking with her device as the gang drove off on their greatest journey

2024.05.09 12:09 Urbanexploration2021 Wrote two urbex guides (for finding locations and safety) for my subreddit - need feedback if y'all have ideas.

My community is romanian so it was originally written in romanian, just translated it with chat gpt now so that may be why some words or expressions sound weird.
How to Find Urban Exploration Locations Without Someone's Help
Google is your friend: Search, Maps, and Earth.
Most of the locations I explore are found online. The internet is the most important resource we have in urban exploration and it's not that hard to use it properly. If you search and don't find information online (let's say in Bucharest), it means you haven't searched enough (I've been to hundreds of locations in the past year, and 90% were found online) xD
I. Before you search, you need to ask yourself a few questions:
  1. What do you want to find?
Okay, urban exploration locations. What kind of locations? Are they abandoned houses or buildings, unfinished construction sites, abandoned industrial buildings, forts or bunkers, etc. There are many options, and you can easily find information by using specific searches.
  1. Where is the location?
Again, the volume of information on the internet is absolutely huge, and it helps to have a specific search (street, sector, city, county, region, country etc.).
  1. In what form do you think the information you want is? Where do you think you'll find it? Is it a social media post or a blog? Is it an article in the press? Is it in an official document?
Depending on the answer, you can adapt your search. In practice, various terms are used depending on the purpose of the text. The most efficient way to get used to this (it becomes instinctive at some point) is practice :))
II. Finding a potential location and confirming it.
The most basic option is to search for pre-made lists of abandoned places. You can search on Google for "abandoned places Bucharest" and find posts on forums, websites, social media, etc.
Obviously, the information is not always up to date (in fact, in urban exploration, it's rarely up to date), and you need to check if the location is still abandoned, which is relatively simple. Let's say you found Alex Iacob's website (Reptilianul) and see an interesting location. Let's say Aversa. It's not a good idea to assume that's all because you might end up at the location and find it's a guarded ruin (or that you're trying to enter an active building protected by the military even though it seemed like a ruin online - real story, sadly).
I first search on Google Earth what the location looks like (btw, just because it looks like that on Earth or Maps doesn't mean it's like that in reality because the image is not always updated) and check 3D or street view. If it still looks abandoned (broken windows, broken fences, graffiti, holes in walls, vegetation, holes in the roof, etc.), I do some searches on Google to find additional information. You don't always find something useful like this, but in the case of famous buildings, there is plenty of information online (check their current status and look for the latest news/posts). In the case of less known buildings, it helps to search for the exact address to see what their situation is.
And if we're talking about searches, there are some relatively well-known things ignored by many people. When you search for something on a standardized search engine (let's say a simple search on Google), you find enough close results. Basically, it searches for similar terms but not exact ones, which usually doesn't help us. You can avoid this by using an advanced search (especially since you can avoid some terms, so if you're looking for a news story about an abandoned building, you can avoid news about mainstream ones) or by putting the searched terms in quotation marks. Another thing is searching for the type of documents. Let's say you want to search for locations using some official documents. In this case, you can search by file type. For example: "abandoned buildings" filetype:pdf (and you find documents in pdf format containing the words you searched for).
Well, now you can search for some tips and tricks on Google searches because there are plenty of them :))
Another option is to spend a lot of time on Maps or Earth to find locations that seem abandoned and then check them. Here it's about patience and discipline. You can't really rush the process, you just have to invest time and effort, and you'll find locations 100%.
III. Physically verifying online information.
Regardless of your skill in finding online information, you still need to physically verify it. This depends on the person and your circumstances.
I'm more paranoid by nature, and I admit I have some issues with anxiety/overthinking, so I try to make everything as safe as possible (especially from a legal point of view). This means I don't take many risks, I check the buildings physically before entering, I take a quick look around without entering at that time. I look for guards, cameras, entry and exit ways from a building (the entrance can be slower but subtle, the exit should be quick, even if it's too obvious). Preferably, multiple exits and entrances, just in case (and it works, I haven't received any fines in 4-5 years of urban exploration).
What you do next is your choice. I prefer not to take risks if I see something suspicious; it's not like the location will disappear if I don't enter it right away.
IV. You've seen a location in someone's post and want to go there too.
Here it's complicated (obviously, you don't spam the person with messages "give me the location too"). If the photos are from inside a building, it's hard to figure out the location (not impossible). In theory, a location posted recently on this subreddit would have a vague location posted by the author (city or region, nothing more exact, and that only if the exact location is not obvious).
So you have a starting point, you know the approximate area. To increase your chances of success, you need to figure out what type of building it is. Some are impossible to find without someone giving you the location (like the recent post about Mrs. Eugenia's house here) because it's just a simple house and there shouldn't be any online information about it. Furthermore, it's not a "special" or "unique" location that you can differentiate from other houses in Romania. Other locations are easier; you see a logo, specific equipment, or anything that helps you figure out what the location was used for. For example, you see an old train and think it's something related to the Romanian Railways. Or you see an old gas mask and think it's some industrial building from the communist era. If you know the relative area, you have a chance to find the area because you've advanced to "abandoned industry Constanța" (hypothetically speaking).
If the photo is of the exterior, the situation changes (for the better) because you have a higher chance of finding the location. What do you see in that photo? Do you recognize anything? Let's say it's a photo taken from some buildings in Bucharest, and you see a fairly large lake. There aren't that many large lakes in Bucharest; you've already found some approximate areas where that building could be. Usually, there are enough details in the photos, and you can use them: tall buildings with the corporate logo on them, giant advertisements, emblematic buildings, maybe even traffic signs with the names of streets.
If you see this information, you further reduce the possible locations. You definitely find the area using Google Earth 3D view and street view to find the exact place (you practically walk around until you find from which direction the photo was taken, and then you look to see if it looks abandoned. If not, it's probably a normal building that someone climbed, so you can look for graffiti, but those are not mandatory).
Another option that rarely works (but is quick and free, so I usually test it first) is reverse search by image. I recommend a browser extension: Invid Weverify, which basically searches for an image using multiple sites (it's for fact-checking, but geolocation is part of it, so it's useful).
For those interested in geolocation, I can give you some references to something more detailed/useful. See what techniques are used in OSINT and adapt them for finding urbex locations lol. I recommend the book "OSINT Techniques: Resources for Uncovering Online Information" by Michael Bazzell, 2023 edition (btw, Libgen is brilliant, Z Library as a backup. Update: Anna's Archives is getting bigger than anything now).
I know my guide might seem disappointing; I'm sure I probably missed some "strategies," but believe me, I've been using them for years and have found plenty of locations. There's no magic solution; it's just about time, effort, and skills gained through training. I hope my little "guide" helps you :)))

Guide to Urban Exploration Safety

Exploration is an interesting hobby, but it can be dangerous, and I think we're all aware of that. It's important to acknowledge the risks when embarking on exploration and not start with the mindset of "it won't happen to me" because anything can happen to anyone. Yes, the chances are slim, but not nonexistent. Most of the things here are logical, some maybe not. Let me start with a list of the "equipment" I consider necessary (in general, obviously depending on the situation), then I'll cover a passage about avoiding legal problems, safety issues during exploration, what to do if you encounter dogs or homeless people, and other general advice.
1. Equipment:
a) Comfortable footwear (you never know how much walking you'll do), with thick soles (to protect against nails, shards, spikes, etc.), and relatively waterproof (depends on the situation, but I've often encountered mud, puddles of water, or other liquids lol).
b) Comfortable clothing (freedom of movement), dark-colored (to avoid drawing attention, especially if you're in a building where you'd be the only colorful spot), and durable (or clothing you don't care much about getting dirty or damaged easily).
c) Mask (I know it's an investment, but a good mask should be essential). Many of the buildings we explore are old, which means there are some risks: asbestos, lead paint, or various chemicals in the air. The first two are banned, but they were legal when some of the buildings we explore were constructed. Then there's the risk of encountering chemicals that have been dumped there or were in the buildings before they were abandoned, but the container is destroyed or simply not maintained the way it used to be (and in many buildings, ventilation is quite dusty). Not to mention other minor but annoying hazards: dust and mold. Bonus: the mask helps endure the horrible smell you constantly encounter in urbex lol.
d) First aid "kit" - it doesn't have to be anything fancy, logically, but it doesn't hurt to have something on you just in case: band-aids, some bandages (the adhesive type is more useful), disinfectant (because most of the things you can cut or prick yourself on are either rusty or dirty). If it's something more serious, go to the hospital quickly (I think that was obvious, but I thought I'd add it - especially if we're talking about dog bites or cuts/piercings caused by rusty objects).
e) Situational "tools": wet wipes/disinfectant (especially if you're a smoker or if you want to eat), flashlight (I prefer flashlights that can be charged at the outlet, but also have regular batteries), power bank (because, well, you need your phone), water and some food (I've had to wait hours for security/police to leave so I could leave the building), rope/paracord (especially if you know you need to descend a considerable distance), gloves (especially if you're climbing somewhere), etc. I'm waiting for suggestions from you; I'm sure I missed something 😊)
e) Self-defense: pepper spray (for homeless people) and some food (for dogs). Also, it doesn't hurt to have some extra cigarettes or food in case you talk to a homeless person.
2. Avoiding Legal Problems
Exploration is illegal in most cases (even if there's no sign saying "forbidden," locked doors or gates, barbed wire fences, surveillance cameras, etc.), so we accept the legal consequences of our choices (and yes, even minors). I divide exploration into 3 stages: entering the location, exploring it, and exiting the location.
For me, entry should be invisible, exploration subtle, and exit quick.
First of all, I need to check if the location is abandoned. I check online first (mainly news about the location, searching for the "exact address" in quotes to find that exact address; if it's a company, I check the business details; reverse search a street photo to see if I find something, etc.), then I check physically (broken fence, broken windows, absence of surveillance cameras, absence of activity traces, absence of alarm at the entrance, etc.). If everything is fine and the location is abandoned, then I start looking for an entry. For me, entry should be subtle (preferably not through a crowded place where people can see you, not through a place with surveillance cameras), quick (to minimize the possibility of someone catching you jumping the fence), and efficient (it's useless to have a subtle and quick entry if you waste a lot of time getting into the building, so you increase the time you're in open space).
Exploration should be subtle: don't make noise, don't use bright lights (minimum necessary, you don't need a powerful flashlight to see where you're going), and don't go in a large group (3 people seems enough to me). Don't hang around windows, and if you're on the roof, try not to attract attention (especially with the light from the flashlight or phone lol).
Exiting should be as subtle as the rest, but if it can't be... well, at least it should be quick because no one will chase you anymore. Try to exit where you can check if someone is passing by (if it's near the street) or if someone is waiting for you (security or police).
I'll add here the importance of anonymity, both during exploration and afterward. I know the chances of legal trouble because of this are slim, but it doesn't cost you much to reduce risks: cover your face or at least wear a hood during exploration, avoid posting online photos/clips where features that could be used for your identification are visible (face, tattoos, etc.), if you get into urbex and are active online, don't involve your real name in the equation.
3. Building Safety Issues
Obviously, it depends on the location being explored, but usually, we're talking about buildings abandoned for some time and their condition is not ideal. First of all, this means you risk falling through the floor, having the ceiling fall on your head, and you can't really avoid that. Obviously, don't jump like a retard if you see that the floor is unstable 😊)) But usually, it matters to keep your attention during exploration (look for holes and cracks in the floor or ceiling, check how solid the object you're holding onto is when trying to climb onto something, etc.), know your limits (especially when it comes to heights, free climbing, or parkour), and don't take unnecessary risks (common sense things: don't touch unknown substances, cables, sharp objects, etc.).
4. Dogs and Homeless People
Yes, homeless people are also humans, I included them here just out of laziness. I don't recommend going to urbex with headphones on because they help you hear the noises from the ground. If you hear barking, assume there are dogs so you can play it safe: avoid those areas, don't stay outside the building for too long, check the area from above when you reach the
upper floors or the roof. Same goes for homeless people: you rarely encounter them during the day, but it helps to avoid them if you hear noises, shouting, etc. If you encounter dogs and homeless people, aggression and running away won't help. It's much better to remain calm and retreat in an organized manner. If you have no choice, engage in conversation with homeless people but not aggressively, don't show off like you have money, behave as if you have a backbone (meaning, have balls, but not in a passive-aggressive way).
5. General Advice
Watch out for tobacco, alcohol, and drug consumption. I included tobacco on the list just to emphasize the idea that you shouldn't throw lit cigarettes randomly because you risk setting fire to the location (especially if there are flammable substances there, old papers, etc.). I don't recommend in any possible way consuming anything that makes you think irrationally, especially since you need a good balance in some situations (good luck jumping high fences if you're dead drunk or high as a kite), but I think that's obvious.
Choose your locations wisely, understand your limits. I understand that some places are extremely interesting, but I don't recommend someone who has never been to urbex to explore a well-guarded or hard-to-reach building. Not to mention that some places are really risky (like subway tunnels), others are not a good idea at night (extremely damaged locations or those where the light from flashlights is very visible), and others are simply inaccessible in general (security, locked doors, surveillance cameras, etc.).
I don't recommend going urbex alone, but neither going in large groups. The larger the group, the greater the chances that someone will make a mistake or somehow attract attention (it's one thing for 1-3 people to jump over a fence and another for 5-10 lol). I actually try to create a community here, but that doesn't mean I can control the quality of the people present on this subreddit in any way. When choosing to explore with strangers you find online, some dangers arise, obviously. I'm not even mentioning those extremely unlikely dangers (to be a policeman, organ theft, etc. lol), I'm referring to more concrete ones: you don't know how cautious the respective person is, how much experience they have, what physical condition they are in, etc. You might be cautious, but you might get hurt because of the person next to you. I'm not even mentioning the possibility of encountering someone who's a jerk and does nasty jokes in abandoned buildings (locking you somewhere, leaving you behind, etc.), committing some illegalities (beating up a homeless person, setting something on fire, destroying things, etc.), and so on.
Also, urbex should not and should not be a competition. For me, all that matters is to feel good when I explore. I've met people who see exploration as a competition (x has been to y place, I have to go too) or people who are in a continuous search for validation online. I'm by no means the most experienced urbexer, but I can say that in the last 4-5 years, I've seen people who started doing urbex and then took on more and more risks (and yes, the places they've reached are cool). I believe there are few of those people (and no, I won't name names) who continue to do urbex: most of them calmed down after legal problems started to arise (I know it may not seem like it when you're young, but that criminal record can have nasty consequences), and the unlucky ones have serious medical problems (I've seen a few cases of life-changing problems in the comments, like nasty fractures, paralysis, etc.). If you look for it a bit, you'll find enough news about people who died doing urbex (and I'm not talking about suicides), so there can be serious consequences for recklessness.
That being said, I'm not here to tell you how to do urbex; the post is for those who want to explore safely and are just starting out.

e) Situational "tools": wet wipes/disinfectant (especially if you're a smoker or if you want to eat), flashlight (I prefer flashlights that can be charged at the outlet, but also have regular batteries), power bank (because, well, you need your phone), water and some food (I've had to wait hours for security/police to leave so I could leave the building), rope/paracord (especially if you know you need to descend a considerable distance), gloves (especially if you're climbing somewhere), etc.

2024.05.08 00:20 NikeBeav David Gahan replaces Michael Hutchence as the lead singer of INXS for next world tour

I have had this thought many times and I know he has the charisma to pull off the job. I wonder how he would sound, what do you all think? Like Michael, he is a global draw and I think it would be a massive success.
