It feels like a little radar that's been tucked away somewhere, unobtrusively tracking incoming power surges like a digital sentinel.
Then there's this incredible feature, the audible failure alarm. It's almost like having your own personal security guard. If the surge protector takes a hit, it emits a loud alarm. It's a real life saver because let's face it, I've been known to forget about the surge protector and just leave it in the background. It's also interesting to note the NEMA 3R / 12 enclosure. It's specifically designed to meet the requirements of both indoor and outdoor applications, which is quite handy because it means the surge protector can work in any environment without any issues.
But of course, there's the downside. The manual disconnect switch is a useful feature, but it means that sometimes, when I need to temporarily unplug something, I have to remember to manually press the switch. It's like the surge protector is asking me for permission before I can unplug it, which can be a bit of a hassle at times. There's also the alarm contacts, which, while useful for monitoring, can also be a bit overwhelming at times. It's like being constantly tied to the surge protector, even when I don't necessarily need to be.
Overall though, the APC SurgeArrest surge suppressor is a reliable device that has helped me keep my appliances and electronics safe from the potential dangers of power surges and spikes. It's not perfect, but it sure is worth having on your side in this digital age where we heavily rely on electronics.

Are Aem5 Suppressors legal to use?

The legality of using an Aem5 Suppressor depends on the specific country, state, or jurisdiction. In many countries, including the United States, it is legal to own and use suppressors for hunting, sporting, and self-defense purposes. However, additional licenses or permits may be required in some locations.

Do Aem5 Suppressors require maintenance?

Properly maintained Aem5 Suppressors can last for thousands of rounds. However, it's essential to clean and inspect the device regularly, following the manufacturer's guidelines. Cleaning should include wiping down the exterior with a soft cloth, using a clean, dry gun cleaning patch to remove any residue from the interior, and reapplying thread locker as needed.

How much do Aem5 Suppressors cost?

The cost of an Aem5 Suppressor varies depending on the manufacturer, model, and features. Generally, high-quality suppressors can range from $500 to over $1,500. It's essential to consider factors such as durability, noise reduction capabilities, and ease of installation when selecting an Aem5 Suppressor.

2024.06.02 10:42 spooky_office Battleground Balance Adjustments

Bgs have gotten alot of tunning over the years, would be great if they added these improvements in Cata.
Wintergrasp: demos are still lvl 80, the guards are lvl 76. I dont think the demos and npc recieved an update in mop either. So is the map just stay gonna stay broken for like 2 or 3 years?
Isle of Conquest: allow mid demos to deal percentage base damage, this allows mid to be a counter or a help to glaives which can be important when glaives are beefy or weak depending on meta, makes the game more interesting.
remove side guns from siege and import wintergrasp demo, this change should be in retail too. People dont know how to switch seats, just get rid of the extra guns they barley do anything anyways, sieges main gun is powerful and people dont even know it exist
add highlight to gate pillars so it has some indication that it can be damaged. Noobs park demos in the fire, they dont know u can safe spot under the turrets and damage gate by attacking the pillar.
Strand of Ancients: Vehicles shouldint bleed or beable to be poisoned, its a machine. Their root duration should be reduced or removed. One rouge can poke the demo and it has like 8 sec slow and the roots are just too op.
fix the bg timer in round 1, it just says 0:00 no indication of remaining time
Warsong Gultch: if the timer ends when both flags are contested it gos into overtime and even if its one cap to one cap, u need 3 caps to win. It should be last caps wins or next to caps wins. Warsong can be brutal and tedious this would make the bg less painful, this is how it plays in retail
Battle of Tol barad: dont evenknow whats happening in this bg it dousnt last long enough. All that work they put into this bg and it was just abandoned an expansion later... i dont get it cause people actually queue this content too, it a real shame.

2024.06.02 10:36 sqaz2wsx Why people who are AP seek out emotionally unavailable people Part 2

For those who saw my post a couple of days back, i gave a good reason why i thought AP people seek out emotionally unavailable people becuase we are greedy to be loved. But there is another major reason why AP people find themselves with avoidant, this time its to do with fear. This one much more important then the first.
Reading about the emotional derivation schema(which is the schema therapy equilivant of being AP), there was one thing that really stood out to me in the book, reinventing your life.
"people with this schema, never find themselves responsible for forming relationships, they only focus on how others let them down"
Reading this reddit thread discussing how other people perceive AP attachments, you can get a idea of exactly how anxious people act. We are overcritical, easily disapoinited, and can tend to put others under a microscope.
Now the Stoics reconsigned, another very powerful emotion we have called agony. And the description of this emotion is very familiar to the behavior in that thread.
anguish (Greek: agōnía meaning “contest, struggle for victory, agony, anguish”). I conjecture that agony is the fear of a failure to pursue a desired object. It is a fear of a failed desire, otherwise called a disappointment. Disappointment is often regarded as a mild dissatisfaction with something not turning out as one had hoped. Frustration is a stronger disappointment, a stronger sense that one’s desire was thwarted. When an apparent wrongdoer is perceived as the cause of one’s failed desire, agony is often overpowered by bitterness (or resentment) toward the apparent wrongdoer.
So Agony is basically the fear of lacking what we desire. There is pain in lacking what we desire. And what did i identify as in the last thread as what every anxious person is seeking? To be loved. That means that the source of our agony, of our disappointment, our frustration with others, is that we are afraid of lacking what we desire. To be loved. Another way of saying is that we are afraid of emotional neglect. I know personally this emotion of agony has seriously affected me. When i don't get my emotional needs met, it feels like agony. It feels like a struggle for survival when i fear lacking what i want(to be loved). I am easily disappointed in others, for example getting pissed off at someone taking 5 hours to respond or a million other trivial things, because i perceive this as emotional neglect. Or i am very frustrated, bitter and resentful with them in stronger cases, perceiving them to be the cause of my emotional neglect. This lead us to be overly critical, and others feel like we put them under a microscope.
Its the nature of fear to be excessive, and this is why we are so afraid of emotional neglect, this is why we put other peoples actions under a microscope. We are fear of lacking what we desire, to be loved. This fear this results either in disappointment in mild cases, and frustration and resentment in stronger cases.
The result of this fear is catastrophic, because we are afraid of lacking our desire ,to be loved, we are unable to heal ourselves.
This results in being disappointed and frustrated with others, very very easily with others because of our agony. So we never do take the lead.
But the consequence of this is quite catastrophic, because we are never able to heal ourselves by forming emotional connections with others, because we reinforce our own anxious tenancies. We are never able to heal because we push those away who try to form connections, and are terrified of taking the lead in forming friendships we crave with others. Especially taking the lead in forming emotional connections, thats when we are afraid the most.
The only way to cure ourselves is to remove ourselves of the opinion that lacking, what we desire(to be loved) is evil. That it is harmful, that it hurts us, that it should be avoided, that it is the cause of a unhappy life.
Its also generally avoidants who are very good in avoiding disappointment, who take the lead in the first stage of dating. Until they have us hooked and we try to get close, then they deprive us once they have us, but at that point we are unable to leave because of our greed to be loved.
TLDR: People who are anxious, rely on others to form emotional connections with us because we ourselves are afraid, but we push them away simultaneously because we are easily disappointed in others and very overly critical, because of our fear of lacking what we desire, to be loved. We also are terrified in taking the lead in forming emotional connections, so we never do.

2024.06.02 10:35 LessonsOfTheSeason My version of FNaF characters for an AU I'm making (CONSTRUCTIVE criticism welcome)

My version of FNaF characters for an AU I'm making (CONSTRUCTIVE criticism welcome)
Withered Bonnie
Normal bonnie
I made the original and then use it as a base to be able to make the withered variant, this goes for the withered chica that i had made.
The entire AU premise was based on some of the AUs gacha kids made were glitchtrap and William are separate people, they are in this however glitchtrap is now henry and henry is constantly painting himself as a victim, he wanted to do the remnant experiments himself and got William to do the killing for him up until he killed Charlie, of which then he starts causing his kids death.
There are still some kinks in the story that i need to straighten out. I've snipped all the images since i felt as if they are too big in their screenshot form, I'll give updates whenever i feel like it or something.
Spring bonnie or something idk
this is like one of the earliest redesigns/drawings, its why the lines are so thick and actually has a body, also coloured.
Withered Chica
there was this one twitter post that gave me the idea to redraw withered chica first, trust me huge mistake, it looked awful, i have said before that i draw the original first and then witherfy it after.
Normal chica
I do sorta apologise for the massive watermarks but 1 its so you know I've made this and its to also kinda protect my art from thieves, i don't share this name anywhere else so if this is posted under the same name on a place like twitter then that ain't me.
There's a lot of lore changes in the AU for example fire doesn't release souls so when henry burns down all of the buildings it doesn't do anything and he knows it, he's just hiding evidence or something, for the souls to be able to be released and move on they need someone to replace their prison, i will go more in depth what i mean by this at some point, maybe next update post about redesigns.
Vanny is still gonna be a victim of glitchtrap, that isn't changing, There's an after effect from after being released as a victim of glitchtrap and that's the fear of looking anything in the eyes and their whole world view being distorted.
This is all I'm sharing as of right now, but i will answer to any questions you have about this and i will try interact with any criticisms and recommendations you have.

2024.06.02 09:50 jinx_x27 tell me…

an email i considered sending to my therapist, but never sent. share any thoughts as you would like :) thank you to anyone who takes the time to read. let me know if you relate if you’d like.
little jacked up, admittedly probably shouldn’t have done the block or two home from the bar if i’m being honest. it’s kind of wild the way things change and stay the same. the level of disconnect and the lack of discernment between what is okay and what is not. knowing and not knowing… rationalizing? what is okay
and the sadness as you watch people succumb, over and over, more and more. and you stand back and watch as people simply take watch, observe the decline, yourself included. and you think, well, they don’t know any different. but if you’re asking yourself the question, if you all make the jokes that indicate the awareness with things left unsaid… i don’t know. it’s an incredibly sad world we live in some days
and there’s people that greet me upon entering, and these people say they adore me, their words. and i’m here wondering why they ask me these questions, truthfully why can’t you just recognize that i need more than 6 ft of distance for me to be okay with you talking this intensely. no ill intent, warmth, encouragement. and i want nothing more than to not be seen. it’s amazing, truly.
there are so many missed communications. and people just carry on, they just continue to whatever beat their drum drums. they continue to color inside the lines, they don’t dare to shake their status quo. not recognizing that their status quo is what keeps things where they are. not recognizing that if they see something , say something. and i think it’s even more sad if they do see it. i’m one of those people, and i can empathize because i feel powerless too.
it’s a wild wild world all the time
and yet, my aunt texts me just now, she says “ Thanks for listening to me all the time. You’re one of the very few people that I can talk to and know that you totally understand what I’m jabbering about. ” so i have meaning, i made impact. right?
we’re all witnesses to this shit. it’s wild
i must be more jacked up than i thought, to be shamelessly sharing.
i think too many people are in pain, with no means to get out. except they have the means, they have the help, they just can’t see it. it’s a profoundly sad world. and nonetheless, a good night . a night of sharing, of exchanges, of authentic conversation.
i don’t know. i don’t quite have the words
i know that im deeply grateful to have the space to express. and i know that i wouldn’t be here if not for you
how many people don’t have a version of you? how many people stumble blindly through whatever their shit is, unknowingly colluding
i don’t know
and what is there to do? the spouse of the alcoholic takes him in the car home, he’ll sleep in the car or on the couch. the father who texts his son thanking him for his honesty about having been drinking, and therefore isn’t going to pick up his dad. i tell him, that’s a great text from your dad. good on you. (he’ll appreciate that someday if he doesn’t already). did he hear me? was he more upset that i shouldn’t be looking over his shoulder? it wasn’t my business in the first place? he wouldn’t be wrong.. but i read it and wished id have heard it, so i said something. he thanked me, so maybe. but maybe not, maybe he thought fuck you. the brother that storms out on his sister over who knows what, what i hear as a “years long conflict, this happens at least every other time they get together.” and it’s normal, so let’s move on, let’s have fun. forget about it. under the rug it goes.
how are people not profoundly disturbed by this? how do they actively participate?
and how can i say that as i stand by and watch these things pass by because these people are 20-30 years older than me, i dont have the connection necessary to plant any seeds of change. and yet i have 5 minute conversations with people only to hear that they call me extraordinary, they say im destined for great things, always have been.
i don’t know. i don’t know what i feel
i just know that it’s difficult for me to interact with so many people that have no idea what to do. and i have the empathy. i didn’t, i don’t know what to do either. you just keep trying anyway, but they don’t seem to. they brush it off, they act like it’s nothing so as to minimize the discomfort, in an effort to save somebody’s feelings.
i don’t know. it’s a wild thing
nobody i know is ever malicious. i know malicious people exist, they are not the ones i know.
it’s insane to me the level of harm that can be done despite good intentions. and how disturbingly normal it is to watch and do nothing. nothing. sit back. they’ll figure it out. maybe. someday. maybe. hopefully.
it’s fucked up. what if they don’t? what if they need you to say something? what if they need to know that it’s seen, even if it’s uncomfortable, even if it hurts?
i don’t know. i’m not pointing the finger, im no different, im a participant as well
but im 24, i say, im only a kid compared to these people. cant be much different than the things they all tell themselves.
i don’t know.
it’s a weird thing.
and today was my dad’s 50th birthday . and i hugged him multiple times, trying to tell him i love him. trying to tell him to stay close. take care of yourself, i need you around. and yet im fuming over the treatment of my step-sister who still lives in his house. the lack of accountability taken. and how could you carry on this way. how could you not see what you’re doing. how could you continue to oppress, restrict another human being, another child of yours. i told you what it did to me, didn’t i? didn’t you listen? i thought you did.
but i love this man more than i give a fuck whether the sun rises the next day, and so i will give him grace. i will hug him tight because i don’t want him going anywhere. i see him laugh it up, i see him brush things off, i see him swallow, and make light. and i watch his body decay as the stress compounds. why? how? but i get it, too. i haven’t said anything either. that’s all we know
i care that he knows how much i love him, how much i need him, how much i yearn for closeness, for him to understand. i see the weight that you’re carrying that you tirelessly try to dismiss
i don’t know what to do with all of this sometimes there’s too much to be seen that isn’t said.
i’m highly analytical, im logical, im rational, im disconnected. and honestly i don’t know how else to exist, because feeling it all, watching it all
i don’t know sometimes. i don’t know
and it was a great night. it was a great night
too many paradoxes.
and i’ll wake up tomorrow, i’ll forget about this. i’ll be caught up in my own world. it will be out of sight out of mind
what can you do? are the messages i receive from people like my aunt enough? do i need to think better? it’s not like im not already cracking under my own weight. but would more mean more? do more? how do we all sit back like that. how do we all do that
blows my mind, and i understand it all the same.
crazy. crazy. crazy.
i hope you’ve been able to get some rest. it makes me wonder sometimes… did you abuse your body too like i have? is it a case of poor genetics? is it to be expected with aging? do you have regrets that you’re now paying the price for? or have you made your peace and you roll with the punches? what are the things you tell no one about? what are the things you try to forget? what are the things you deny but secretly know, the things that only you could possibly know? and am i projecting? is there a level of healing where that’s not what you think anymore? but at the end of the day, i think everybody has those, no matter how healed you think you are. is that reality or just mine?
do you have somebody too?
maybe it’s arrogant of me, but i don’t think i would sense, i don’t think i would suspect if there was nothing to know.
that pains me some days.
but maybe that’s the human part of this work. maybe i’m human, and you’re human, and we all have things left unseen and untouched, unsaid.
do i think that because im wounded? or is that how this thing we call life is? i don’t know.

2024.06.02 09:41 VegetarianCurry Hello! Reassurance for a future ostomate

Hello everyone, I've been lurking in this sub for quite some time. I've been having GI issues for a very long time because of a severe case of MS (my rectum is not working anymore), which forced me to resort to drastic, painful and desperate measures: laxative and microenemas abuse (I need to get my colon irritated to have some sort of movement, even for farting), TAI (useless), zero residue diet (and I mean ZERO, vitamin tablets only), you name it. Every single day. A neurogenic bladder is just icing on the cake, so you can get the gist of it. An ostomy is my only hope for a normal life (and a suprapubic catheter, which will come with the ostomy).
My surgery is scheduled at the end of June (sigmoid or descending colostomy, might turn into an ileostomy in the future). I have been reading lots of resources about ostomy and some of the posts here (and I'll make sure to ask the doctors, my pre-op appointment is in 2 weeks), but I would like to have some reassurance about "stupid" questions:
  1. I can't really walk (I must use a walker at home and a wheelchair outside) and the place I live in does not have a handrail... Think of Chris Pratt in Jurassic World when confronting the velociraptors and you can picture me climbing the stairs (it's just five steps, but they feel like a mountain). Is it "too much" of a strain to put on my body right after surgery, or.. ?
  2. My cats LOVE making biscuits on my stomach. Can I let them? Will they pierce my bag? Do I need to wear anything under my clothes (like a pillowcase)?
  3. Before MS, I would eat lots of veggies. And I mean LOTS, I would GORGE on them. I haven't eaten a single veggie for almost 4 years now (fiber causes blockage in my rectum, even steamed or mashed). Will I be able to eat vegetables again?
  4. Some guidelines advise to eat avocado, cheese and eggs, some advise not to. Is it one of those things that differ from person to person?
  5. Is sushi allowed? What about pizza?
  6. Will I have to say goodbye to konjac noodles? They're a category of food I gave up 4 years ago.
  7. Can I shower with a bag, even if it features a foam adhesive (it's one of the pouching systems I'm looking at)? Or will it fall off because of the heat?
  8. How do I dispose of the bags when I'm outside? Will I smell (not that I don't smell because of my issues at the moment, I must wear diapers)?
Thank you!
PS: I'm italian and English is not my native language, so please excuse any errors or redundancies on my part.
EDIT: some grammar mistakes

2024.06.02 09:29 LossLucky4012 what do you think?

I've been working on this story for... 3 months? 4? who knows, with my ability to keep track of time I could have started this yesterday, anyway, this is a story that has sci-fi elements, and some fantasy, although the fantasy stuff is mainly dragons so lets say adventure for now, (cause I don't know shit about genres, I just wrote the story) , Keep in mind, this has been written in free time, of which I don't have a lot, so if you don't like the story it is probably my fault, here is a look at:

Dragons wing

I slowly drift from my sleep and think to myself, ow, why is everything warm? I check the thermostat and see that it is at a temperature as cool as Canada and when I turn back to go back to bed so that I can sleep in, I see that my stuff has been knocked over? Oh sorry, where are my manners? I'm James O’Maley, I put everything back into place, and lay down on my bed but nothing is comfortable! I just decide, you know what, whatever, I’m just gonna get ready for work, and with that i get dressed, everything feels harder to put on, but it really hits me when I go to brush my teeth, when I looked into the mirror, I saw that their were, wings on my back, and a tail, growing out my butt like a lizard, I obviously spend several minutes having an existential crisis about this shocking revelation, and I decide to look at what these wings can do, I open a window, crawl out, with some difficulty and some slamming the window on my tail. I go to the edge of the fire escape railing, hop on, and jump, and I flew, higher and higher, until i nearly flew into a mountain but that's when I suddenly breathed fire, from my mouth, and bore a hole straight through the cliffside, I could spend all day flying, breathing fire, and fiddling with my tail, but I began to feel as tired as if I’d just gotten back from lifting weights with tigers, I landed on a cliffside and fell asleep. When I woke up I wasn’t on the cliffside anymore, there were monitors and scientists all around me. I tried to show some sign that I was awake, but I was chained up! I spent several moments struggling to get free, I must be free, I am not something they can chain down! I struggle, I roar, I attempt to move my head enough to burn the surrounding area, but I can’t, until someone finally talks to me,
“Hello there, James, please forgive us for our caution, but with your kind we can never be too careful.” I can see the scientist, I read his name tag, Dr. Crane William, I roar out
“My kind!? Get me out of these chains!” I breathe fire, claw, kick and swing my tail, trying to free myself, until I see two other people watching, one with weird whiskers, a long tail and a smug look on his face, and the other with a similar appearance to me but her wings are her arms. The next few days go by, until the two finally decide to talk to me, and in those days, My face becomes a snout like a komodo dragon’s, the one with the whiskers opens his mouth first and I already hate him
“Would you look at that, he’s even uglier up close!” I glare at him with absolute hatred, that seems to anger him more,
“What are you mute or something? Speak before I tear you apart!” he takes one step closer and that's all I need, I Bite his shoulder and use his head to break the chains on my right arm, I continue to break the rest of them with ease, and tell whiskers
“You want to fight? Let’s fight!” I leap on top of him, clawing at his face, he tries to slash me with a blade on his tail but I grab it and stab the wall with it, until I feel a burning sensation in my veins, The girl had bitten me! She looks at me with sadness,
“Sorry about this,” I look at her and drift into unconsciousness, when I wake up next I’m in some kind of, medical wing, ha, wing, as I look around I feel that my mouth is bound shut, but other than that, I can move my body, I get up off the gurney and just when I think it looks nice, whiskers shows his face,
“Well thanks a lot freak, now I’m on probation with Dr. Crane.” I motion to my mouth and he seems to have enough brain cells to understand what I mean
“Ha! You got the boot, Lily had that on her when she wouldn’t stop biting staff, I’m Ryan Mist.” I just walk away and try getting this muzzle off, That's when Crane walks in,
“Well, I must say it has been a while since we’ve had to use the boot, Ryan, your behavior was unacceptable!” I can tell that Crane is annoyed, and right as he finishes his sentence, click, the boot falls off my face and clatters to the ground. I don’t bother trying to fight Ryan again, I’m just happy to be able to talk!
“Well that’s a lot better, now, talk, I want answers.” I growl, Crane and Ryan seem surprised that I got the boot off but they talk, turns out, I’m what’s called a dragonkin a Human who has dragon genes in their genome, Lily and Ryan are also dragonkin, although they can’t breath fire, Lily has fangs and a venomous bite, turns out she’s the girl that bit me, and Ryan just looks weird, apparently we are the only dragonkin who evaded the organization that Crane works for, Called ‘Kadmus,’ into adulthood, Lily being found at 22, ryan at 20, and me at 24, on top of that, we are the only dragonkin who have survived that long, it’s at that moment that I notice Lily looking at us from behind some glass, I decide that I’ve heard enough and open the door, and I leave the room.
As I leave the room I can tell that Lily was not expecting me from the look on her face, I start a conversation with her, trying desperately to be friendly and not notice all the scientists glancing at me nervously.
“Hey, Lily, Right?” I say in the friendliest tone I can, “I’m James.” Lily looks at me with a calculating look before answering
“Hello, yeah my name is Lily, Lily Megan.” she clearly is wary of me, but I can tell a few things about her, making herself look small, clearly smarter than she lets on, seems shy,
“How did you get it off?” Lily breaks into my train of thought with the question,
“What?” I ask her, confused,
“The Boot, how did you get it off?” She gestures to the room where Crane and Ryan were having an argument, but more specifically to The Boot, laying on the ground
“Oh that? I once took a lockpicking class when I was younger.” I explain
“Huh, you mind teaching me that sometime?” She catches me off guard with that one, I can tell that she is being genuine so I agree, And we begin working out what time works best.
The next few weeks go by in a flash, but I’ll summarize it for you, I ended up getting my own room like Ryan and Lily, I start teaching Lily how to pick locks, and we end up having a few game nights where we played games like charades, poker, even monopoly, lets just say that we will never play monopoly again. However, the most important thing of all, we ended up finding another dragonkin! We aren’t sure what dragon ancestor he has, but we think he’s another eastern long tail, like Ryan, the new guy’s name is Dillian, He’s great, absolute goofball, he’s from Australia, and according to him, his family has never been anywhere but the land down under, weird, but the guy’s like a little brother to me, so it’s cool, and that catches you up. “Hey Dillian!” I lean my head into his room, “Wanna come hang out with the rest of us? It’s movie night!” Dillian just looks at me, unreadable,
“Okay, your loss.” I try to hide how unnerving that look felt, but something doesn’t feel right. I go back to the lounge, where Ryan, Lily, and Crane are all waiting for me,
“Sorry guys, Dillian, isn’t up for it.” Lily looks at me disappointed,
“Aw man, and we're even watching Dune!” I just look at her with a sad look, but Ryan manages to lift the mood a little bit,
“Last time we let Crane pick the movie!” Crane just glares at Ryan, I can tell he’s about to lecture him so I just start the movie, around one hour in, boom, everything is blurry, and there is dust swirling, everything hurts. I see Lily and Ryan helping evacuate the scientists, I don’t see Crane anywhere! But that's when I see it, Cranes lab coat, soaked red and underneath a piece of rubble, I try to run towards it, but I can't stay on my legs, I call out,
“CRANE!” My friends hear me, they rush towards me and they see the lab coat, Lily tears up, Ryan is too stunned to speak, then we hear it, we hear him. Dillian, he’s laughing, laughing at the lab coat, laughing at us, My head snaps toward him, I feel the rage burning, my wings flare out, fire rises in my throat, I grab Dillian by the collar, and I roar,
“Do you think this is funny?!” Dillian just keeps laughing, “Crane is deadI!” Dillian looks at me, and he finally stops laughing, he pushes me off and spikes erupt from his skin, his tail wraps around my throat, and he growls,
“Don’t touch me you cretin, my ancestors were nearly wiped out by yours, I’m just returning the favor.” I look at him confused, Ryan seems to have been just as confused as me because he asked,
“What do you mean? The Eastern long tails have never had an issue with the Flying flame drakes.” Dillian just flicked his wrist and one of the spines shot out and nearly sliced Ryan’s head off!
“Do not compare the Wyrms to those foolish sky beasts! They have ruled the land for centuries!” Dillian roars, at this point I finally manage to choke out,
“Wyrm? Like the dragon inside the mountain Wyrm?” I struggle against his tail, I finally get a claw hooked under it and pull, it takes all of my strength to get my head loose and retreat, and then I see Dillian fully for the first time, pale skin covered in red spines and a long tail that could probably crush a normal humans windpipe, if I wasn’t a dragonkin I’d be dead.
“So, you do have a brain. Indeed, my ancestors were the Wyrms, Masters of the land, and the only dragons to be nearly forgotten by time, if it weren’t for the colony under Australia, I would not be a dragonkin.” Dillian snorts, and after saying his piece he leaped up, dived down, and bore through the earth, I try to go after him, but Lily holds me back,
“James you're hurt, and you would not stand a chance against him in your current state!” I hate to admit it, but it’s true, I would not stand a chance against Dillian, oh man, my leg hurts, I look at my left leg and I see that it has a shard of metal sticking out of it, and then everything feels heavy, I hear Lily yell out my name, but she sounds so far away, I don’t try and fight it, I just let the darkness envelope me, at least in the dark I can’t hurt, when I wake up I’m in the medical wing ha, it’s still funny, I have a bandage around my leg and then it all rushes back to me, Crane’s lab coat, Dillian laughing, the rage, everything, replaying over and over in my mind, I immediately try and stand up and I find a lot of difficulty in that, but I manage to stumble off the bed, I avoid putting weight on my leg, and I use my wings when necessary,
‘Well it’s about time you woke up, and here I was thinking that we had wasted time and resources.” I spin around to see a lady in a suit and glasses looking at me with a look of disdain,
“Hello, I am Dr. Leanne Vern, but you can call me Leanne. I am your new head researcher, I hope you are ready for your next few tests, Dr. Crane wasted a lot of time ‘bonding’ with you.” It’s right as she finishes that sentence when I feel the urge to make it her last, I feel rage burning under my skin and I glare at her with every last ounce of anger possible,
“What.” Either she didn’t get the memo or she is just a jerk, because she did not care, but either way I continued,
“Do you think that now is a good time to either ridicule Crane, or tell me that you need to run tests on me? I am not your lab rat” I grab her collar “I am not something you just get to boss around, If you say something like that again I will send you straight to the underworld where you belong.” I shove her back and go look for Lily and Ryan, I find them in the cafeteria, I get some food and sit down across from them,
“Mind if I sit here?” It clearly lightened the mood, but not even Ryan found the humor to reply, but we started to talk turns out I had been knocked out for two weeks, when I asked about Dillian Ryan tensed up, he explained to me that Dillian goes by ‘Death Wyrm’ now, he’s spent the last two weeks tormenting the city, and eventually I brought up Leanne,
“That Dr. Leanne is a jerk though, when I got out of the medical wing she just introduced herself, told me that she would run some tests and insulted Crane.” Lily seemed to agree because she replied,
“Yeah the first day she got here she told me I was ugly, and had me escorted into the testing chamber and forced me to fly for as long as I could or else I would get shocked.” Upon hearing this I feel rage flare up inside me, I flare out my wings and fly straight towards Leanne's office,
“You threatened Lily with being shocked?! What is wrong with you?” Leanne just looked at me stone faced and told me,
“You dragonkin are nothing but freaks that look interesting, you should not be treated like humans, you are tools.” I just stand there, shocked until the dam just breaks, I roared, I grabbed her by the collar and I slash her face with a claw,
“Tools? TOOLS?! The only tool in here is you! First you insult Crane, someone who died only two weeks ago! Then I learned you threatened one of my friends with a shock if they stopped playing your sick little game!” I feel the fire rise in my throat, I open my mouth, but then I see the look in her eyes, fear, absolute, paralyzing fear, I hesitate, and think to myself, oh my god, what am I doing? I release Leanne and walk out of the room, as I’m leaving I hear Leanne bellow from behind me,
“Where do you think you’re going?” I glare back, I don’t need to answer her, but because I know she will hurt my friends if I don’t I tell her what I’m doing, I explain.
“I’m going after Dillian, don’t try to stop me.” I can tell that Leanne is angry, I can feel her eyes shooting daggers at me, she clearly disagrees with me,
“Oh no you don’t, listen to me you bloated gecko, we did not spend millions tracking you down for you to play superhero!” I just walk away from her and go to the cafeteria to tell Lily and Ryan, they of course freak out at me, saying that I should not go after Dillian, that he’d kill me, and that I should stay here, but I look at them with all of the emotion in the world, I tell them
“Look, I know that Dillian would probably kill me, but I at least might tire him out enough for the police or military to stop him, but it’s more than that, I can’t let him hurt innocent people.” Lily and Ryan look at me, Lily hugs me, and tells me,
“Don’t you dare die or I will kill you.” I look at her, And I say to Ryan,
“I hope she’s joking.” Ryan looks at me and punches my arm,
“You are a good friend man, I hope you live through this.” I look at Ryan and Lily, knowing that this might be the last time I see them, I hug them both, and I flare out my wings and I fly off.
As I sped off towards Dillian, no, Death Wyrm, he stopped being Dillian when he killed Dr. Crane, one thought was going through my mind, am I going to survive this? It doesn’t really matter, as long as Death Wyrm gets what he deserves, when I arrive in the city I look around from above first, I decide to stop by my old apartment, I remember when My dad helped me find this place before he died, it has looked weird since I had my stuff moved into my room at the Kadmus site, I decide to sit down on the floor, when all of a sudden I hear a click and a secret safe opens from the wall. Inside I find a video message to me from my dad, along with an envelope, with the words for when I’m gone written on it, I look through the envelope and I find an old Kadmus keycard for my dad, so that's what his work was, I knew he was secretive but damn, A few other papers that talk about dragons, turns out, Kadmus had been looking into the dragons for years, although these papers are odd, as if my dad had prior knowledge of the dragons. The ball drops when I play the video message it says,
>Hello, James, if you are watching this then I’m probably dead. In the envelope that you have found alongside this message, there is also my old keycard, it will give you full access to any Kadmus site. Along with my personal notes on the Flying flame drakes, the Eastern long tails, the Wyverns, and some vague knowledge of a supposed fourth dragon species, including some vague diet, and possible weaknesses, but if you’ve already read them, then that means you have seen that the Flying flame drake notes are more definitive, that’s because I am also a dragonkin, I only inherited physical strength from our ancestors, but I have a feeling you will have more characteristics, but I am saying this because you need to know the history behind our ancestors, and the rest.<
I look at the message and wait for it to continue, until a small piece of paper slips out of the metal box that is the message, when I open it I find out that in the beginning of the dragons, there were supposedly four species, the Flying flame drakes, the Eastern long tails, the Wyverns, and the Wyrms, until the Wyrms struck out, they had felt as though due to there inability to fly, that the other dragons thought less of them, the dragons were forced to lock away the Wyrms deep beneath what would one day be called Australia, and then man arose, and along with them the first dragonkin, Tiamat, a Flying flame dragonkin, as my dad called him, but the humans lived in fear of the dragons, eventually driving them to the bleeding cut edge of extinction using their advancing technology, eventually humans all but forgot about dragons, reducing them to myth or fairy tales. That was more or less all that was written, I committed all of this knowledge to memory, and then I heard a loud boom and some maniacal Dr. Doom esc laughing, I peer out of the window to see Death Wyrm, tormenting people, I leap out of the window and into the air, getting a good angle before dive bombing Death Wyrm, breathing fire on him and slashing him with my claws,
“Hey Dillian, did you miss me?” I laugh, I tried to pull a Ryan and joke myself into feeling confident, and it kinda helped, Death Wyrm roars out in rage,
“Why didn’t you stay out of my way?” He whips his tail up, shooting spines out at me, although thanks to my practice I manage to dodge them, I decide to not make a joke and just stay quiet for now, I remember something a security guard once told me, if the enemy is in range so are you, don’t just talk, actually attack, I know that I am in range for a fireblast but Dillian doesn’t know that, I shout out,
“Those spines must really hurt, but not as much as my claws!” I suddenly make a sharp turn and get in close with my talons, I first duck beneath Death Wyrms hook, and slash at his stomach, I then dodge a spine shot, and quickly follow up and through with a tail whip, knocking him off balance, then quickly blast fire right at his feet, but I didn’t see that Death Wyrms tail had grabbed my leg before it had already thrown me two blocks away, I was getting up when I felt a Burning pain in my arm, when I looked to see, it was one of Death Wyrms spines, It had only penetrated the outermost muscle tissue, I would heal in a few weeks but that doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt like hades, I rip the spine out and breath fire on the wound in order to cauterize it, when I suddenly feel Death Wyrms tail around my throat, choking me, and I am all of a sudden pinned to a wall, with my mouth bound shut, great it’s the boot all over again, I see Death Wyrm, he’s grabbing the spine I ripped out, he walks towards me, and he gives me a small speech,
“You know James, if you weren’t so noble I’d actually have let you join me, I never wanted to kill you, but you leave me no choice.” He lifts the spike up, when all of a sudden he is blasted back seemingly by a freakishly strong gust of wind, wait, that's a thermal updraft, I turn to see the best sight I could have seen, Ryan and Lily! Ryan opens his mouth first and I couldn’t be more thankful for his humor,
“Nobody treats James like that but me!” He then flies into battle riding on a thermal, while Lily freed me, she slices through the binding on my mouth and I immediately ask,
“What are you guys doing here?” Lily opens her mouth to answer but Ryan cuts in with being thrown into a wall
“Me and Lily are saving you, idiot, speaking of which a little help here?” Me and Lilly help Ryan up and we all get ready for a fight, but before we can charge in, Lily hands me a headmic,
“Here put this on,” I do as she says and suddenly Leanne's voice buzzes in through the speaker,
“Well it’s about time,” I am just happy to have some help with knowing my surroundings,
“Whatever happened to ‘we didn’t spend millions tracking you for you to play superhero?’” If Leanne heard me she didn’t answer, I just started to run towards Death Wyrm, before I took off alongside Lily and Ryan, I felt a familiar rage build up in my veins, I allow the rage to drive me forward, I feel the heat, the fire, rushing to every vein in my body, building along with all of the rage in my life, I gather my thoughts, a raging body is good for combat but a raging mind is bad for victory, when this feeling washes over me, I finally feel calm, I feel at peace, I never want this feeling to end, I open my snout, and unleash a twisting, flowing, blooming tunnel of flames, wounding Death Wyrm and distracting him long enough for Ryan to swing in with a bladed tail to his back, followed by Lily, biting into Death wyrms tail, as Death Wyrm roars I dive in and I do something unexpected, I talk to him,
“Dillian, I thought of you as a little brother, but you killed someone I cared about, I am sorry but, we need to take you in.” Death Wyrm roars, he writhes, up until Lily’s venom takes hold and he falls to the ground, defeated, a news reporter had been, well reporting, nearby and walked up to me, and asked me for an interview,
“Under normal circumstances I would agree, but not right now.” I wave as I signal to Ryan, it takes an embarrassingly long time for him to get the hint that I want him to create a thermal under Death Wyrm in order to transport him, but he follows my lead, and before we know it, we are flying toward the Kadmus site, but as we fly, I yell behind me,
“Hey, go ahead, I’ll… I’ll catch up.” Lily looks at me while Ryan just zooms ahead, no questions asked,
“Okay what are you doing?” I just look at her, feeling conflicted about telling her about my dad, for all I know this could get me in trouble, or worse, I make a split second decision,
“I… I think I saw something.” surprisingly it works, I swoop back towards the city and back to my old apartment and I grab the message from my dad, his keycard and the papers, I then fly off with them clenched between my arms and my body, I then fly into the Kadmus site, and discreetly go to my room, in order to hide them, I then get out of the site, and fly back into it acting like nothing happened, and to my surprise, there was a celebration waiting for me, there was cake, and wine, and even a nice Irish whiskey, eventually I asked about Death Wyrm, and turns out he was placed in a secure facility, deep under the site, and that anyone with high enough clearance could go down there, I decide that that is probably for the best.
After the celebration, I go into my room, and pull out the message, I look over it, Dad was a big fan of puzzles, so maybe this message is a puzzle? After several minutes fiddling with it, the message began to whir, and it then showed a place for a fingerprint, gotcha, I placed my thumb on the finger print and it pricked me, like I was getting my blood drawn. After that a key fell out of the message box, and a keyhole on the side, I of course used the key, which then played a different message,
Hello James, and I know it's you who will be watching this, at the time of making this message I am about to help you “find” an apartment, this is one that will only play for other people if you give them access and get a blood sample, the key you used is a one of a kind, and allows you full access to pre-recorded messages, and answers for certain questions, I hope that there will come a time when you don’t need it, but, knowing you, you will probably forget what the messages say within an hour, but anyway, I hope that this helps you greatly, here is a list of topics that the message box can give you data on.< The video then becomes like an interactable encyclopedia, where I can read the list at my own pace, I skim through it before my eyes lock on one entry, Dr. Crane Williams, I open the entry and i read about Crane, turns out, he was my fathers research partner and close friend, and the two of them met in college because they had managed to win a competition that landed them tuition for any college of their choosing, and they became friends after my dad stopped somebody from messing with Crane, there was a whole lot more there about Cranes upbringing, his family, his education, but I had to cut it short when Leanne entered my room, unannounced,
“What are you doing?” She glared, in her usual condescending tone, I am not in the mood for this “Jump off a cliff.” I growl, as I tuck the message away, but she sees it, and by the look on her face she could tell what I was looking at, “Let me guess, a message you don’t want anybody seeing?” I hate her but damn it she can connect the dots well, “Was it obvious?” I don’t bother denying it, she’ll just be a jerk about it, “No, I’m just used to being lied to, who's the message from?” Leanne nods at the message box,
“It’s from my dad, he apparently worked at Kadmus and was friends with Crane.” The fact that my dad both worked ant Kadmus and was friends with crane seem to shock her, what’s really shocking though is what she asks next,
“Was your dad by chance Shane O’Maley?” I look at her, confused, “He was, why?” Leanne immediately seems to get shell shock, as she starts to geek out, “James your father was pretty much science royalty, I would have done anything to speak to him, oh my god I insulted the dead friend of Shane O’Maley, and of his son!” I feel angry that she brought that up again, but now feels like I can get something good out of this, “Ok I’ll make you a deal, if you only do tests with me and the other dragonkin willing to do so, and make sure not to do things like threatening to shock us if we don’t do what you want, I’ll tell you stories about my dad, deal?” It was almost impressive how quickly she answered,
“Deal! Shock threats, exhaustion tests, and anything else like that is gone!” I am really happy that I can do stuff like that. That is the best ability ever.*1

2024.06.02 09:28 jinx_x27 tell me…

an email i considered sending to my therapist, but never sent. share any thoughts as you would like :) thank you to anyone who takes the time to read. let me know if you relate if you’d like
little jacked up, admittedly probably shouldn’t have done the block or two home from the bar if i’m being honest. it’s kind of wild the way things change and stay the same. the level of disconnect and the lack of discernment between what is okay and what is not. knowing and not knowing… rationalizing? what is okay
and the sadness as you watch people succumb, over and over, more and more. and you stand back and watch as people simply take watch, observe the decline, yourself included. and you think, well, they don’t know any different. but if you’re asking yourself the question, if you all make the jokes that indicate the awareness with things left unsaid… i don’t know. it’s an incredibly sad world we live in some days
and there’s people that greet me upon entering, and these people say they adore me, their words. and i’m here wondering why they ask me these questions, truthfully why can’t you just recognize that i need more than 6 ft of distance for me to be okay with you talking this intensely. no ill intent, warmth, encouragement. and i want nothing more than to not be seen. it’s amazing, truly.
there are so many missed communications. and people just carry on, they just continue to whatever beat their drum drums. they continue to color inside the lines, they don’t dare to shake their status quo. not recognizing that their status quo is what keeps things where they are. not recognizing that if they see something , say something. and i think it’s even more sad if they do see it. i’m one of those people, and i can empathize because i feel powerless too.
it’s a wild wild world all the time
and yet, my aunt texts me just now, she says “ Thanks for listening to me all the time.

2024.06.02 09:21 sodumbfounded Was I (F29) emotionally abused by my ex husband (M35)? Or more?

Hi, I wasn't sure where to post this, so please let me know if there's a better sub for this, but I wanted to ask for multiple different opinions on this because I've been so confused about it. I might still be in denial? Hold on tight, this one is a doozy. And I'll probably delete it after a couple days or so.
So I was in an online relationship with this man for a couple years until we met in person in 2016, then married in 2019. I'm counting all 7 years as the whole relationship, but we were only married for 1. Some background information about him is he was abused as a kid. By his dad physically, and by his neighbor (SA). Now he was also in an accident involving a semitruck, which ruptured a couple disks in his back I believe? And this is why he told me he smoked marijuana. For his back, for medical reasons. I was ok with that. It was whatever. None of this seemed to truly bother him, so he seemed pretty easy going.
Fast forward to the marriage. (For informational purposes related to the story, I'm christian and don't believe in living with a man before marriage so I was unaware of a lot.) About 3 months in, he stops doing the marijuana and things go downhill fast. He only stopped because he knew I never really liked him smoking, but again, I was fine with it because his was for medical reasons. I told him this. He didn't want to smoke it again. Okay.
He starts taking up drinking instead to dowse the pain (he never went to the doctor for it and refused), but then some other issues started rising. He told me he wasn't drinking much, but I'd find empty bottles of alcohol stuffed into the couch, under the bed, behind the dresser, etc. It just didn't add up to the amount of times I saw him drinking. I told him we couldn't afford his alcohol, he kept buying it anyway.
Another point: I was the only one working and paying bills majority of the time. He couldn't hold a job and stayed home doing nothing I guess. No cleaning, no anything. I didn't know it was going to be like this before we got married. He seemed like he knew his priorities with saving money and getting bills paid and keeping things organized. That's what he told me anyway. But everything was always a mess when I got home and I was the only one making sure anything got paid.
Anyways, he also said he started seeing this... demon figure? Or something. In our apartment. It bothered him and freaked him out. I never saw it, but he'd sometimes see it in the closet or going from room to room or in the corner, and he even told me its name was Seth. One time we were arguing and he yelled out BEHIND me to "SHUT UP." And... to clarify... he made sure I knew he wasn't talking to me, but the thing behind me. There was no thing behind me. It was just us. So that periodically was happening through this entire ordeal.
Now when he started drinking, he started having these "episodes." They happened maybe once a week, once every other week? He seemed to get really frustrated about his past or something related to it, and he'd get so angry. So angry that he'd start punching things like the wall. And during these episodes he seemed like a completely different person. I NEVER saw anything close to this side of him before marrying him. Nobody warned me of this. None of his family. I didn't know what was going on. I'm not even sure if his family knows??? He just went on a rampage. I just tried my best to console him quietly for the longest time until he seemed somewhat normal again. Then he was ok in the morning again. These episodes only seemed to happen at night. Over the course of the next few months, these episodes only got more frequent to the point where they were happening pretty much every night (I think the alcohol just helps trigger it along) and more aggressive. I stayed around each time to try and calm him down, but it never really worked. So I just ended up losing sleep over it in the long run.
I mentioned several times that we/he should see a therapist or counseling or something, but he refused. He told me he was fine and that all he needed was me. He didn't believe in therapy... which sucked for me because he needed it majorly.
During these months while he was jobless, he'd find some way to fracture his fingers, whether it be punching a wall, or just... hitting something? Idk. I legit can't count how many times he had to put his fingers in splints. Idk if he was accident prone, or if he REALLY wanted to get out of finding a job, liked being the victim and getting me to feel sorry for him (which I did a LOT), or all of the above. He needed babying a lot, let me just say. When I said he needed a job to help me with the bills, he wanted me to come with him to this temp ageny place I went to to get a job, so I agreed. But every time I came home from work and asked to go, he said "tomorrow," or "next week." Always coming up with excuses of not feeling good or he fractured another finger, or something. Idk.
(Warning, sexual topic here) Another thing was happening during these months as well. During my sleep, he'd finger me in my sleep (and then proceed to try to put himself in me). At like 1am, when I had to get up at 4:30am to go to work and needed sleep (keep in mind, all his nightly episodes were ALSO happening still, so 1am is probably not too long after I ACTUALLY went to sleep. He kept me up a lot). I told him no several times but he wouldn't stop. This happened multiple times. I was exhausted. His excuse? "You were wet." Yes, because my body naturally reacted to stimulation. It took maybe 5-10 minutes or so until he gave up.
(More sexual topic) Whenever we DID have sex was fine. But obviously there were times where he wanted it and I didn't, and when I did and he didn't. The issue came when he wanted it and I didn't. If I said no, I had to say no several times. And eventually he'd stop. Everything. Stop cuddling, stop talking, stop everything, turn his back to me and just... lay there silently. The cold shoulder. Idk what else to call this but it seriously hurt. I didn't treat him that way. If he didn't want to, I'd accept it and stay cuddling. Over time this really messed with my thinking on whether or not he really loved me or just wanted to use me as a live in sex doll.
I made all the excuses in the book for his actions. His past abuse for one. I guess I felt like he needed me? Or I couldn't leave him? Idk.
There was one night where I stayed up for 5 hours straight, from 10pm to 3am, trying to stop him from punching holes in the walls. I stayed up trying to help him so often, it wore me out to the point where sex was off the table completely for aboouutt the last 4 months of our marriage I believe. I was drained mentally and physically. Frankly I was losing my emotional attachment to him. Then he started claiming I was cheating, because I didn't want sex with him, so I had to be "getting it from somewhere." Lol I went to work and came home. What cheating?
Also, suicidal thoughts. He had those too. He'd say things like "I don't deserve you. I'm better off not here. You deserve so much more. I'm a failure." frequently. I reassured him every time. Eventually I got tired of this too.
Towards the end I was speaking seriously with him. I bluntly told him things would need to change and he'd need a therapist or I'd be divorcing him. And I wouldn't throw that word around if I didn't mean it. I was on my last straw because I couldn't help him and he was dragging me down into depression avenue too and making me lose tons of sleep on top of everything. He didn't take my words seriously.
The last night that made me leave was the worst. Now, it started off with me going to bed because I had work in the morning. He wanted sex again. Surprise surprise. I said no, I need to sleep. He went quiet for a minute. My anxiety went up because I felt like something was going to happen, and sure enough....... he suddenly pops off the bed and says he can destroy his Pokémon cards to prove his love. What kind of insanity is that?
Firstly, this is the 3rd time he'd attempt to destroy his cards. Secondly, I knew how much they meant to him so I stopped him from doing that both times before. Thirdly, haha these were original Pocket Monster backed cards. Yay. Fourth... I didn't give a crap anymore and let him destroy them. He took them out of the closet and to the bathtub. He just submerged them all in water. I finally got out of bed and went "here we go again..." and went to go watch him so he wouldn't hurt himself. Idk. I couldn't stop him. I was dead tired.
After he successfully ruined all the cards, it's like a switch flipped and he was suddenly yelling "what did I do?!?!" Over and over again. He was in the tub with the cards and was throwing the cards up in the air. He was angry with himself.
This was around 12am. He decides to throw the cards in a trash bag and take them out to the dump at the front of the complex... now. Like he couldn't wait. (I also want to mention I hated when he stayed up later than I did because he always forgot to lock the doors even if I reminded him, so I always felt like I had to stay up. I woke up one morning with our porch door just... open. Not even closed. I couldn't trust it after that.) He also mentioned offing himself again, and then stuffed one of our glocks in his pocket while taking the bag (yes, stupid to have guns in this situation, I know). He claimed it was for protection while he went to the trash. While I believed that, I wasn't going to chance anything, so I managed to get the gun from his pocket and unload it. Then I quickly stashed it next to mine on my side of the bed.
Obviously he wanted to get it back, so I was wrestling him the whole way. Managed to keep him from it, so he got angry and punched the wall behind me, causing his knuckles to bleed. (This triggered me because by this point, I already cleaned up his blood numerous times before. Walls and my shirt because he flung his hand and it sprayed both) So I start crying and asking to take him to the bathroom to clean him up so I don't have to clean up anything else. I was tired, I wanted to go to bed and sleep so I could just get up for work. He refused, but I managed to push him there. Where... he proceeded to fling his hand and the blood splattered across the bathroom wall instead. sigh
This is when we hear a knock at the door and "POLICE." The neighbors called in domestic violence on us because we were so loud. I never had any run ins with police, so I got scared to open the door, but he opened it. I stood beside him. I had blood on my shirt from him pushing me aside and he had blood on him obviously. It didn't look good.
The police asked if they could come in and it was like another switch flipped in my ex's head (because he never acted like this around anybody else but me) so he started acting almost normal again instead of whatever his hysteria was. He told them it was completely fine and they didn't have to come in. But in that moment, my ex scared me so bad by that one flip of his personality that I told the police to come in. I was just glad to be able to speak to someone sane.
When they questioned us, they quickly realized I was the only one capable of answering their questions coherently and spoke with us separately. Eventually it ended with them waiting for me to gather my things and walking me out to my car so I could drive to my parent's house. Meanwhile my ex legit told the police "it's your fault we're separating." And I just told him that it wasn't, and walked out.
He later claims the police had to hold him back from going after me but I never saw this and don't know how true it is after his lies. He lied about his bills to me over the phone when we were still online dating. He also held back information about "almost sleeping with a random woman" when we were online dating. They "got naked" and "didn't do anything" and claims he didn't know we were dating at the time, but still felt guilty about it and told me about it after we got married?? Idk. And I still forgave him on the spot. Maybe that stuff doesn't matter so much, but still. Yes, I got tested. Clear.
I never went back. I was too scared. I still don't know what to make of it to this day because a lot of things were nonsense (a lot of craziness still left out, but this was the main stuff). I realize his past may play a major part of this, but I still feel messed up from it. (Yes I probably need to go to a therapist myself, but I've also doing forms of positive self therapy exercises as well for the time being until I can actually go. I'm MUCH happier now, don't worry.)
What are your opinions on this, if you actually made it this far? I'm just struggling to call it abuse maybe because he was abused himself? Or was this even abuse? What are your outside perspectives on it?
Tl;dr: Abused ex husband becomes enraged at night, punching holes in walls, causing me to lose sleep and sanity.

H: PS Extra (claimed 90% of all PS+ Essential games since 2013)
Digitally purchased games:
Long term share would mean we basically take turns buying the games we both want. For example I would buy Star Wars Outlaws and you buy Assassins Creed Shadows, the next game after that I would buy and so on. Thats for typical full price games. Cheaper games we can handle on a case by case basis. I'm not very pedantic in that regard.
Future games I'm interested in buying: Most Sony Exclusives, SW Outlaws, AC Shadows, Astro Bot, V Rising, Stalker 2, Space Marine 2, Metaphor Refantazio, Plucky Squire, MGS3 Delta, GTA VI, Little Devil Inside, Still Wakes The Deep, Judas, Death Stranding 2, Dragon Age 4, Wolverine, Next Mass Effect, most Metroidvanias and other interesting indie games.
If you can see yourself taking turns buying these games with me (not necessarily all of them) comment below or DM me. I am not interested in short term sharing.
My PS+ Extra ends next month, I will extend it for a year. After that if we share you would buy a year for us to share.

🔗Under Armour Stellar G2 Tactical Boots: Breathable, Waterproof, and Comfortable for Long Shifts

Imagine slogging through a muddy construction site or trekking through a wet forest without feeling a single drop of water on your feet. That's the promise of the Under Armour Stellar G2 Waterproof Tactical Boots. I've tried these babies myself and let me tell you, they've been a game-changer.
First things first, the outer material is 100% leather, giving these boots a rugged, durable feel that can withstand any challenge I throw at them. But the real standout feature? The waterproofing. I'll admit, I was skeptical at first, but these boots kept my feet dry in the dampest conditions, making them a reliable companion on any outdoor excursion.
Now, I did notice a little issue with the traction on these bad boys. They tend to slip on some surfaces, which can be a bit of a hazard in certain situations. But that's a small price to pay for the overall comfort and protection these boots provide. Speaking of comfort, the die-cut EVA footbed and molded EVA, TPU shank make for a cushioned, supportive experience, even during long shifts.
As for the aesthetics, these boots are no slouch. The sleek, black design exudes an air of professionalism, which is always a bonus when you're working on a job site. But remember, always prioritize function over form.
In conclusion, the Under Armour Stellar G2 Waterproof Tactical Boots are a solid choice for anyone looking for reliable, waterproof footwear. Just remember to keep an eye on the traction and you're good to go.

🔗Under Armour Men's Stellar G2 6" Tactical Boots - Breathable & Odor-Resistant

https://preview.redd.it/j9kcesznx34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3d60b4ad770dca17db30decfcfab84b5b4c7afce
I recently got a pair of Under Armour Men's Stellar G2 6" Tactical Boots and they exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort and design. The light and breathable textile upper with full-grain polishable leather forefoot provided a great balance of durability and flexibility. I loved the molded Contoura Support anti-odor footbed with shock-absorbing foam as it made long walks a breeze, even without insoles. The molded EVA midsole cushioning with reinforced TPU shank gave me excellent protection and support, keeping my feet comfortable all day. Moreover, the oil- and slip-resistant high-traction rubber lug outsole offered a solid grip on various surfaces.
However, there were a few aspects that I found disappointing. Firstly, the front and back pull loops made the on/off process a bit difficult for me. Secondly, my previous pair of tactical boots felt more comfortable due to their thickness and weather resistance. Lastly, the size of the boots was somewhat small, so I had to go up one size.
Despite the minor drawbacks, I'd definitely recommend these boots to anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish pair of tactical boots.

🔗Salomon Forces 4D GTX Tactical Hiking Boots for Men

https://preview.redd.it/odw8viaox34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e6d3597ecd9c271c58efbeef0a8533f567b9f3c
The quest for the perfect tactical shoe has led me to the Salomon Forces Men Quest 4D GTX 2 EN. With a sleek design and plenty of features to make my treks more comfortable, I've been putting these boots through the paces.
One of the most noticeable features in this shoe is its dual-density midsole, which provides superior cushioning, stability, and motion control. The EVA foam in these boots is high-performance, offering excellent shock attenuation as I hike through various terrains. The nonreflective materials make these shoes perfect for tactical use, as they're always discrete and blended in with the environment.
The soft, breathable lining of this shoe has been a game-changer in terms of moisture-wicking foot comfort. The gusseted tongue design prevented debris from entering the shoe, keeping the tongue centered and eliminating the need for constant adjustments. It's a great feature to have, especially when I'm trudging through mud or over uneven ground.
In terms of fit, the molded OrthoLite sockliner matched the contours of my foot, providing a snug and comfortable fit. The ISO 20344:2011 puncture-resistant sole also made me feel more secure when navigating through rough terrain.
While I love the ventilation, ankle support, water resistance, and other features of these boots, there are some minor downsides. The traction, although solid, could be better in some situations. Also, the regular lacing system can be a bit tedious, especially when I need to quickly tie and untie the boots.
Overall, the Salomon Forces Men Quest 4D GTX 2 EN has been a great addition to my outdoor gear collection. It provides comfort and support during my hikes and tactical missions, making it a reliable tool for the job. While there are some minor issues, the benefits of these boots far outweigh the drawbacks.

🔗Authentic U.S. G.I. Mickey Mouse Winter Boots for Men and Kids - Unused and Affordable

When I first heard about these Mickey Mouse boots, I was intrigued by their distinctive design paired with their military origins. So, I decided to give them a shot while embarking on a snowmobiling adventure. As I strapped them on, I was initially surprised by how heavy they were.
But once I stepped into the deep snow, I immediately comprehended the weight's significance - it signified the durability and robustness of these boots. The wool and waterproof exterior managed to keep my feet warm and dry even in the harsh subzero temperatures.
However, their unique design did catch quite a few stares, but hey, it's not every day someone's feet are decked out like a set of Mickey Mouse ears. Overall, these boots delivered the expected functionality, even though they made me look like a walking Disney attraction.

🔗Comfortable Lightweight Adidas Military Boots - Rugged & Stylish Outdoor Footwear

When I first tried on the Men's Stellar G2 Tactical Boots from Under Armour, I was impressed by the lightweight feel and the durable leather forefoot. The high traction rubber lug outsole definitely came in handy during my daily walks in different surfaces, providing me with a firm grip.
However, after a few weeks of regular use, I noticed that the zipper started to malfunction, making it difficult to take the boots off or put them on. Despite this inconvenience, the style of the boots and their overall comfort were definitely attractive features.

🔗Adidas Terrex Snowpitch COLD.RDY Hiking Boots - Lightweight, Insulated, and Weather-Resistant

https://preview.redd.it/jbn0aggpx34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9382c65039c9d4ca0f1e1ab45e2682c8b0577b45
Recently, I had the chance to try out the Adidas Terrex Snowpitch COLD. RDY hiking boots, and I must say, I was impressed. The leather upper has a stylish and long-lasting appeal, while the insulated and water-repellent COLD. RDY technology kept my feet warm and dry in any weather.
One feature I particularly enjoyed was the textile innersole that added extra comfort to my feet. The hiking boots also offered great support and traction, making them perfect for my outdoor adventures. However, I did notice that the rubber outsole was a bit tricky to clean. Overall, I highly recommend these boots for fellow outdoor enthusiasts who are looking for a reliable and comfortable pair.

🔗Adidas Terrex Heron Mid Hiking Boot with PrimaLoft Insulation - Waterproof and Climaproof Shoes

https://preview.redd.it/ydgrxurpx34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0101a453d256d0b5483c15d12630f8ca72393154
Over the past few weeks, I've been using the Adidas Terrex Heron Mid CW CP PrimaLoft Hiking Boots in my daily life. These boots have been a reliable companion on my hikes, providing both comfort and protection from the elements. One of the standout features is the waterproof and climaproof construction, keeping my feet dry even in the wettest conditions. The PrimaLoft insulation material is another highlight, providing extra warmth in colder temperatures.
One aspect that I found impressive is the Stealth rubber outsole, which offers unbeatable grip on slippery or icy ground. This feature, combined with the mid-height cuff, ensures that I'm always stable on any trail I encounter.
However, there were also some downsides to my experience. The boots seem to run a bit large, which may cause some unwanted bulk for people with narrow or standard-width feet. Additionally, the lacing system can be a bit finicky, requiring a bit more effort to get the fit just right.
In conclusion, the Adidas Terrex Heron Mid CW CP PrimaLoft Hiking Boots have been a reliable companion on my hikes, providing both comfort and protection. The waterproof and insulated features are especially noteworthy, but potential buyers should be aware of the sizing issues and the need for a snug fit.

🔗Ultra-Comfortable Military Boots by Under Armour

Experience the ultimate blend of comfort and durability with the Under Armour Tac Loadout Boots. These boots are crafted with 100% synthetic materials, boasting a rubber sole that provides unbeatable traction on any surface. Under Armour's mission to innovate extends to these boots, as they feature ultralight Micro G EVA inner midsoles for all-day comfort and quick-dry materials to keep your feet dry throughout the day.
Designed for various environments and challenges, the Tac Loadout Boots are equipped with durable uppers made from roughout leather and Cordura nylon, ensuring they withstand rough use day after day. The Vibram outsole with MegaGrip rubber provides excellent grip, while the heel tabs make it easy to slide in and out of the boots.
I had the chance to test these boots, and I couldn't be more impressed. The lightweight and supportive design is perfect for long marches, and the breathable material keeps my feet from getting overheated. Although the soles may take time to break in, their comfort and durability make them well worth the effort. One small concern is that the boots could use better toe protection, especially for those in demanding environments.
Overall, the Under Armour Tac Loadout Boots are an excellent choice for anyone seeking a reliable, comfortable, and versatile pair of boots. With their innovative design and superior performance, these boots are perfect for tackling any challenge that comes your way.

🔗Adidas Terrex Unity Leather Mid Hiking Shoes - Water-Repellent and Durable

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Adidas Terrex Unity Leather Mid RAIN. RDY hiking shoes, and I must say, I was impressed. The nubuck leather upper felt sturdy and durable, while the lugged outsole provided excellent grip on various surfaces.
Despite being marketed as water-repellent, the shoes didn't seem to get wet easily during my outdoor adventures. The EVA midsole was comfortable, especially for those long hikes. However, I did find the lace closure a bit fiddly at times.
Overall, the Adidas Terrex hiking shoes were a solid choice for those looking for a reliable, durable, and comfortable pair of shoes for their outdoor excursions.

🔗Adidas Tactical ADV: Cushioned Snowboarding Boots with Responsive Boost Midsole

https://preview.redd.it/qk6gbp0rx34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2ae09fabbbfd38aca1d84caeed653133e34033f
Over the past few weeks, I've been putting the Adidas Tactical ADV 2021 Snowboard Boots through their paces in the slopes near my home. Let me tell you, these boots have been a game-changer in my snowboarding adventures. They're incredibly comfortable, and I appreciate how the textile upper and heat-moldable Ultralon foam liner work together to make these boots feel like an extension of my feet.
One of my favorite features is the boot lacing system; it's so user-friendly that I can easily adjust the fit on the go. The rubber outsole provides great traction on those icy slopes, while the responsive Boost midsole ensures a cushioned ride that keeps my feet feeling fresh even after a long day on the mountain.
That being said, there are a few minor drawbacks. While I love the boot's versatility, I found the sizing to be a bit on the larger side. I'd recommend going down a half-size for a better fit. Additionally, the boots tend to wear out faster than I'd like, but I suppose that's the price we pay for such comfortable and responsive footwear.
Overall, the Adidas Tactical ADV 2021 Snowboard Boots are a worthy investment for snowboarding enthusiasts. They offer a perfect balance of comfort, performance, and style that's hard to beat in the world of snowboarding footwear.

🔗High-Performance Oakley Field Assault Boots: Comfort, Durability, and Style

https://preview.redd.it/krskbgdrx34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dd39befd7e4bef4c5acda297238605c859382da5

My experience with the Oakley Field Assault Boot (Coyote) has been a positive one. The durability of this boot is top-notch, thanks to the 1000-denier Cordura and suede upper. This lightweight and breathable material also adds to the overall comfort of the boot. The Vibram rubber lug outsole is a standout feature, providing impressive traction and stability, even in the harshest conditions. The molded EVA insert and injection polyurethane midsole ensure comfort for long periods and even absorb shock effectively. The braided nylon laces are sturdy and provide a secure fit, but they could use some reinforcement to last longer.
In terms of pros, the Oakley Field Assault Boot offers unparalleled durability, comfort, and traction. Cons include the thinness of the laces and the stiffness around the ankle. Overall, this military-style boot stands out for its performance and sleek design.

🔗Adidas Eastrail 2.0 Mid RAIN.RDY Black Waterproof Hiking Shoes with Enhanced Durability

https://preview.redd.it/5tqqbuqrx34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd51bd6cc7d3a3efe0574f667f24bf76bfc3973f
I have been using the Adidas Eastrail 2.0 Mid RAIN. RDY shoes in my daily adventures, and I must say it has been quite an experience up until now. When it comes to the aesthetics, the shoes have a unique and edgy design, especially in the green color I ordered. The size 48 fits me perfectly, and I'm glad Adidas gave me the option to select the right size for myself.
One thing that stood out to me right off the bat is the lace-up fastening. It wasn't difficult at all to tie the shoes, and they stayed securely on my feet throughout the day. The mesh upper and synthetic reinforcements made by recycled material have proven to be quite durable, even during rainy days.
On the negative side, the EVA midsole felt a little bit uncomfortable after prolonged usage. It seemed to me like my feet wouldn't dry quickly during the rainy seasons, which I guess could be due to the material they're made from.
Overall, I would say the Adidas Eastrail 2.0 Mid RAIN. RDY shoes are a decent choice for those looking for waterproof hiking boots with a modern edge. While there are a couple of cons that I've personally experienced, I'm willing to give them another shot and see if they hold up in various weather conditions.

🔗Under Armour Men's Coyote Micro G Valsetz Mid Tactical Boots - Lightweight & Breathable

https://preview.redd.it/wdgh9m7sx34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f421723e651abf08e0f9920609a14db9d0a220f
The Under Armour Coyote Micro G Valsetz Mid Tactical Boots have been a game-changer for me. The first thing I noticed was how lightweight they were – a real plus when you're on your feet for long periods. The synthetic leather and nylon upper felt not only soft but also breathable, which was a major plus during those sweltering summer days.
One of the key features that stood out for me was the oil- and slip-resistant rubber lug outsole. I work in an environment where there's a lot of dirt and wet surfaces, and these boots really helped me stay grounded, literally. The full-length Micro G foam midsole added a level of cushioning that made my long hours on the job much more comfortable.
However, there was one downside – one that I couldn't help but notice after a while. The boots wore down more quickly than I expected, given their price point. But that's a minor issue when you consider the overall level of comfort and support these boots offer.
In the end, the Under Armour Coyote Micro G Valsetz Mid Tactical Boots earned a spot in my everyday rotation. They're like a reliable companion on those long, challenging days at work. Highly recommended for anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet.

🔗Under Armour Military Boots: Lightweight Tactical Footwear with Enhanced Comfort and Traction

The Under Armour Men's Micro G Valsetz Tactical Boots are an excellent addition to any tactical gear collection. With their lightweight synthetic leather and textile upper, these boots are both durable and breathable, making them the perfect choice for those long days on the job. The welded forefoot overlay and molded TPU toe cap provide added protection, ensuring your feet are secure and well-protected at all times.
The easy on/off features of these boots, with pull loops on the heel and tongue, make them a breeze to slip on and off, even after a long day on your feet. The anti-fatigue and anti-microbial molded Contoura Support footbed provides all-day comfort, absorbing shock and keeping your feet feeling great even after hours of use.
The upgraded outsole, with its durable oil and slip-resistant rubber compound, ensures that you have the traction you need to stay on your feet, even in the most challenging of environments. The full-length Micro G foam midsole provides the ultimate in responsive cushioning, making these boots a standout choice for those who spend their days on their feet.
While the Under Armour Men's Micro G Valsetz Tactical Boots have many positives, there are a few drawbacks to consider. Some users have experienced issues with the laces, which can loosen and come untied easily, requiring frequent adjustments. Additionally, the boots are not waterproof, so they may not be the best choice for those working in wet environments.
Overall, the Under Armour Men's Micro G Valsetz Tactical Boots are a strong choice for anyone looking for a lightweight, comfortable, and protective work boot. With their durable construction, breathable materials, and excellent traction, these boots are well worth considering as part of your tactical gear collection.

Traction and Grip

Traction and grip are essential for outdoor activities, such as hiking or camping. Look for Adidas military boots with a non-slip sole and good grip, especially if you plan to use them on wet or uneven terrains.

Military boots need to be durable and easy to clean, especially when used in muddy or dirty conditions. Look for Adidas boots with features like a removable footbed for easy cleaning and waterproof materials that can quickly dry after getting wet.

Brand Reputation

Adidas is a well-renowned brand known for its durable and high-quality products. When considering purchasing Adidas military boots, always choose a reputable dealer to ensure you get an authentic and high-quality product.
Adidas military boots are a great option for those seeking comfort, durability, and style in their outdoor gear. The Houseables Bungee Cords with Hooks have become a trusty companion in my daily life. Their 48-inch length ensures that I can secure even the heftiest objects without having to worry about them slipping away. The premium-grade rubber construction adds durability and resistance to stretching, guaranteeing these cords will stay strong for a long time.
The most impressive feature is the stretch capacity of these bungee cords, which can extend from 4 feet to a remarkable 10 feet. I've found that the extra length allows for better shock absorption, making it easier to manage heavy loads and maintain a smooth and safe transfer.
One of the things I appreciate the most is the adjustability of these cords. They can be easily manipulated and tightened to hold large items in place, while also being simple to release when needed. The flat hooks are a game-changer, as they lie better and create a more reliable attachment point compared to traditional round ones.
However, there is one minor drawback to these cords - the bright yellow color may not be to everyone's taste. Some may prefer a more subdued hue. Despite this, the overall performance and convenience of the Houseables Bungee Cords with Hooks make them a great choice for anyone in need of reliable and versatile straps for securing heavy items.

The Hampton Products Keeper 06180 Heavy-Duty Bungee Cord is a versatile and dependable product that truly stands out in the market. With its premium rubber lining on the inside, it has an impressive 10% more rubber content than conventional cords, ensuring optimal performance and long-lasting durability.
One of the most prominent features of this bungee cord is its professional-grade construction. The dichromate steel hooks at each end provide outstanding resistance against bending under pressure and are resistant to corrosion. Moreover, the material is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and UV rays, making it perfect for outdoor use.
Another excellent aspect of this bungee cord is its expansive adjustability. It stretches excellently for your cargo needs, making it a versatile and convenient choice for securing various items. The durable design ensures that the cord stretches perfectly over your cargo without compromising its strength.
However, like any product, there are a couple of cons. While the bungee cord is well-constructed, it can be a bit tricky to adjust, which might cause some inconvenience during use. Additionally, the steel hooks can be a bit sharp, which might require some extra care while handling.
Overall, this Hampton Products Keeper 06180 Heavy-Duty Bungee Cord is a remarkable product that is perfect for securing cargo and making your life easier. Its premium-quality construction, durability, and versatility make it a standout choice in the market. The Monkey Fingers Bungee Cord has been an absolute game-changer in my daily life. As an avid adventurer, I've had to deal with various tie-down situations, and this adjustable bungee cord has made my life so much easier. The unique, patented adjustable hook is not only practical but also makes it the last bungee cord I'll ever need to buy.

Its length can be adjusted from 6 inches to 60 inches, and the marine-grade rubber core ensures it's strong and durable enough to handle any task.
However, there is one downside - it only comes in one size. I wish they offered a longer size for even more versatility. Overall, the Monkey Fingers Bungee Cord is a reliable, easy-to-use, and adaptable tool that has become an essential part of my outdoor adventures.

🔗Versatile Premium Bungee Cord Multi-Pack

I recently tried out the Keeper Bungee Cord Variety Pack, and I must say, it's been a game-changer in my daily life. This pack of 12 different bungee cords offers a wide range of options, ensuring you have the perfect cord for any situation. The 25cm, 46cm, 60cm, 80cm, and 90cm cords make it versatile and useful for various tasks.
But what really stood out for me is the premium quality of the cords. They are made from top-tier, long-lasting rubber that ensures they won't snap or lose their strength over time. The protective coating is a thoughtful feature that resists corrosion and won't chip my paint. Plus, the heavy gauge steel hooks are dependable and easy to use.
However, one downside I faced was with the mini cords. They were a bit too small for my needs, so I had to use them sparingly. But overall, the Keeper Bungee Cord Variety Pack was an excellent investment, providing me with a range of high-quality cords that have made my life easier.

🔗Versatile and Safe Bungee Cords for ATV, Truck, and Outdoor Accessories

As an avid camper, I found the Loop Rope Campers Pack to be a game-changer. Say goodbye to those pesky bungee cords that always seem to wear themselves out and end up with an unsightly mess. This Loop Rope system is not only safer, but also incredibly easy to use. The loops evenly placed on the rope eliminate the need for complex knots, while the double sided stainless steel clips secure your cargo perfectly.
I appreciate the versatility of this product. No matter what you're trying to secure, whether it's a boat, a mattress, camping gear, or even drying clothes, this Loop Rope system does the job with ease. The different lengths of clips make it even more suitable for various applications.
However, as with all products, it's not without its small drawbacks. The clips can be a bit difficult to attach at times, and it might take a bit of force to stretch the rope to the desired tension. Despite this, the pros certainly outweigh the cons, making the Loop Rope Campers Pack an indispensable addition to any camper's gear.

🔗Versatile Adjustable Bungee Cord with UV Protection

https://preview.redd.it/4tsv8vv5x34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=031a5b4327e544027a1f41d4bac5dd4e78e77458
Using the Danik Hook Adjustable Bungee Cord has been a game-changer in my outdoor adventures. The adjustability feature allows you to set the length to your preferred range, from 6" to 48" unstretched. Its durability is evident with the UV-protected hooks and bungee, ensuring longevity and protection against the harsh elements.
One of the things I appreciate the most is the versatility of this product. It can be used in various settings, such as boating or camping, without any hassle. The option to swap out Bungee cords for 5/32" - 3/8" diameter ropes or parachute cord makes it even more adaptable to your needs.
Despite its great features, there's one downside: the Danik Hook Adjustable Bungee Cord can be a bit challenging to tighten the bungee cord and adjust the length. However, once you get the hang of it, it becomes a smooth process.
Overall, this Made in the USA adjustable bungee cord has made my outdoor experiences more convenient, and I highly recommend it for those seeking a strong, customizable, and adjustable bungee cord for their adventures.

🔗National Hardware Adjustable Bungee - The Ultimate Cargo Securing Solution

When I'm out exploring, I like to have a bungee that can handle anything thrown my way – and that's exactly what National Hardware's Adjustable Bungee offers. With carabiner hooks that can be used as tie-down straps or in place of ratchet straps, it's the only bungee I'll ever need.
The adjustable length from 9-in to 60-in allows me to secure my cargo without worrying about it shifting or being tossed around. The slip-resistant securing system and easy-to-use mounting feature also make it a reliable option for garage organization and securing sports balls on shelves.
One of my favorite features is the interchangeable carabiners – I can swap them out for S-hooks or quick-links depending on what I need to secure. Plus, the product comes with two adjustable bungees, which is double the amount of security for my adventures.
Overall, this bungee is a must-have for any explorer. It's easy to use, secure, and versatile, making it the perfect addition to any vehicle or outdoor excursion.

🔗Versatile and Durable Adjustable Cargo Net - Ideal for Outdoor Use and All Weather Conditions

https://preview.redd.it/xgow8km6x34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79cc2d5fcdcc248a4240206e97a3434e0160b7f2
I recently got my hands on the Flex-Web Adjustable Cargo Net, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer. This 72-inch net ensures I can safely secure my gear while on the go.
The unique feature of this net is its six adjustable arms, secured to a central powder-coated ring. It allows for a full adjustable net, perfect for those unpredictable cargo changes. The ABS plastic hook ends are a fantastic addition, as they prevent scratching surfaces and stay secure during transportation.
One of the things I appreciate most is the ability of each arm to stretch twice their length, making it easy to accommodate various cargo sizes. And with its UV, Chemical, Fuel, and Oil Resistance along with waterproof properties, this net is built to withstand all kinds of weather conditions.
While it's made in the USA since 2008, it's designed to be versatile, suitable for ATVs, motorcycles, UTVs, trucks, trailers - basically, anything you'd need a secure cargo net for. It's truly a fantastic product, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone in need of a durable and reliable bungee cord.

🔗Premium Adjustable Bungee Cords with Strong Steel Hooks and UV Protection

https://preview.redd.it/ddjtcg57x34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dc25854739432f354370df1ba385c93f2b69d096
I've been using the SmartStraps Premium Adjustable Bungee Cords for a while now, and they've served my needs pretty well. The super strong cord is definitely more durable than the standard bungee cords I've used in the past. The adjustable feature is a game-changer, eliminating the need for multiple length cords. All you need is one bungee cord that can adapt to various situations.
However, I did notice that the cord's elasticity might degrade over time, especially in extreme weather conditions. Also, the steel hooks are not the best when it comes to scratch-resistance on delicate surfaces. But overall, these bungee cords are pretty convenient and useful for various situations.

🔗25 ft. Round Stretch Adjustable Bungee Cords

https://preview.redd.it/x8uyjn97x34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79c5d101f723a0243a1f531f391ec7687e0b9dc7
The Haul-Master 25 ft. Round Stretch Cord with Adjustable Hooks has become quite the life saver in my day-to-day activities. It's like having a superhero sidekick who's always there to help you secure and manage your cargo. Whether it's tying down a floppy hot tub tarp or securing a trailer cover through the winter, this bungee cord is the perfect tool for the job.
One of the most impressive features of this product is its adjustable length. It's like having a chameleon that can change its size on command. With the simple twist of a hook, I can easily adjust the cord to reach any length I need. This flexibility has turned what could be a cumbersome task into a breeze.
However, there's one downside I've noticed with this bungee cord. Despite its durability and easy-to-use design, the outer jacket seems to have a slight tendency to fade over time. Sure, it's not a major issue, but I would love to see a product that can withstand all the elements, not just some.
Overall, the Haul-Master 25 ft. Round Stretch Cord with Adjustable Hooks is a fantastic product. Its adaptability and strength make it a versatile tool in my arsenal, and I'm sure it will continue to come in handy for many projects to come. Despite the minor flaw, I would highly recommend this bungee cord to anyone in need of a reliable tie-down solution.

🔗High Quality Orange Adjustable Bungee Cords (36") for Durable Hold

https://preview.redd.it/gwclgkq7x34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1b7e739de02a0f775841485b73ccdcfac7e03359
As someone who's had the pleasure of using a set of Keeper Bungee Cords, I must say, they're a game changer. The vibrant orange color sure catches the eye and makes it easy to spot in any environment. And boy, do they live up to the "durable outer jacket" claim. I've left them out in the sun for days, and not once have they shown any signs of wear.
The industrial-strength design is quite impressive too. The hooks are definitely larger than your average bungee cord, which means fewer scratches on my belongings. I particularly appreciate that they're corrosion-resistant, ensuring they'll last a lifetime.
However, there's one thing I wish was different - the thickness. At 0.374 inches, it can sometimes be a bit too thick for certain tasks, making it a bit cumbersome to use. But overall, the Keeper Bungee Cords are a fantastic investment for those who need a reliable and sturdy solution for securing their goods.

🔗Durable Heavy Duty Adjustable Bungee Straps for Camping and Outdoor Use

https://preview.redd.it/mhe6zq98x34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33dde90181f498c5524dcbb2de536a534d33d061
I recently gave Axemax's Heavy Duty Bungee Cords a try and have to say, they impressed me. The color-coding feature made it a breeze to organize my belongings, and I loved the variety of sizes they offer. The durable rubber and cross-woven latex material held up to some rough use, and the UV resistance means these cords will keep their color even after spending time outside.
On the downside, I found the hook design could be a bit more robust. A couple of times, I had issues with the hooks breaking or loosening under pressure. However, this issue was outweighed by the convenience of having a carry bag for easy storage and retrieval of the cords.
All in all, these adjustable bungee cords make a useful addition to any outdoor adventure or work situation, providing flexibility and durability. I'd definitely recommend them to my friends!

🔗Premium Adjustable Bungee Cords for Versatile Luggage Support

I recently tried out the MOLADRI Black Adjustable Bungee Cords with Hooks Set, and I have to say, they've become a lifesaver in my daily life. These bungee cords are incredibly versatile, offering multiple uses such as securing luggage to the roof of my car or holding down a picnic tablecloth during a windy outdoor meal.
One striking feature that stood out to me is their adjustability. The length of these cords can be easily adapted to fit a wide range of situations, making them an essential item for anyone on the go. The flat, heavy-duty design also impressed me, as it not only absorbed shock from bumps and turns but also evenly distributed the load, improving the safety of my cargo.
However, while the flat design is a plus for securing heavy objects, it does make it difficult to use these bungee cords for less substantial items. Additionally, the metal hooks at the ends of the cords add extra durability, but they can be a bit tricky to untangle when storing them.
Overall, the MOLADRI Black Adjustable Bungee Cords with Hooks Set has become an indispensable part of my daily routine, thanks to their versatility and durability. Despite the occasional struggles with untangling the hooks, the benefits far outweigh the inconveniences, making this set a wise purchase for anyone in need of a reliable and adaptable bungee cord.

🔗High Strength Adjustable Bungee Cords with Hooks

I recently tried out the Monkey Fingers Adjustable Bungee Cords, and let me tell you, they're a game-changer for anyone who needs to keep their cargo secure. The bright red color definitely stands out, making it easy to see even in low-light situations. The 2-pack is perfect for keeping one in the car and one on your boat or ATV.
The adjustability of the bungee cords is truly a lifesaver, letting me quickly switch between lengths depending on the load at hand. The hooks are sturdy, making it easy to secure even the heaviest loads, and the bungee cords themselves are incredibly durable, withstanding harsh sun and salt water without any issues. My only complaint is that the hooks could use a slightly larger size for securing cargo on ATVs.
Overall, these are the best bungee cords I've ever tried, and I highly recommend them! .

Buyer's Guide

Adjustable bungee cords are versatile and practical tools that can be used for a wide range of purposes. They come in various widths, lengths, and capacities, making them suitable for different applications.

Important Features

1. Stretch Capacity

https://preview.redd.it/lfp9yhuax34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a7ff8addd0f24e9adf3f4f66aeb5dfed5d47f6b1
The stretch capacity of an adjustable bungee cord is the maximum distance it can stretch without breaking. This is an important consideration when choosing the right bungee cord for your needs. For smaller loads, a lower stretch capacity will suffice, while for heavier loads, a higher stretch capacity is required.

2. Diameter

The diameter of an adjustable bungee cord affects its strength and flexibility. A wider cord is generally stronger, but more inflexible, while a narrower cord is more flexible but less strong. Choose a bungee cord's diameter based on the load it will be supporting and the angles it will need to stretch at.

3. Coated or Uncoated

Adjustable bungee cords can either be coated or uncoated. Coated cords are more resistant to wear and tear, making them suitable for heavy-duty applications, while uncoated cords are more flexible and lightweight, making them suitable for light-duty applications.

4. Quality and Durability

To ensure the longevity of your adjustable bungee cord, choose one made from high-quality materials and built for durability. Look for reinforced end fittings and sturdy construction.

https://preview.redd.it/4arzjibbx34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6e49fa20dc7964cf72843e0a9d6fc8dd6c3d145

Considerations Before Buying

1. How You Will Use the Bungee Cord

Consider the specific application for your adjustable bungee cord. Will it be used to secure a load to a vehicle, to hold two objects together, or for stretching exercises? Understanding how you will use the bungee cord will help you choose the right one with the appropriate stretch capacity and diameter.

2. Budget

Adjustable bungee cords come in a wide range of prices, depending on their size, strength, and quality. Determine your budget before making a purchase, and consider the bungee cord's expected lifespan and suitability for your applications. Remember, cheaper options might not always be the best value.

3. Brand Reputation

https://preview.redd.it/g37l8ckbx34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7a720f58177e61675d9f9ba77068cd0c9c91ab6b
Some brands have better quality control and produce more durable adjustable bungee cords than others. Research the brand's reputation before making a purchase, and look for positive reviews and experiences from other users.

General Advice and Precautions

1. Always Read the Instructions

Before using an adjustable bungee cord, always read the manufacturer's instructions for proper handling and usage. This can help you avoid accidents and damage to your load or the bungee cord itself.

2. Avoid Overstretching

Do not overstretch your adjustable bungee cord, as this can cause it to snap and potentially cause injury. Make sure to secure the bungee cord appropriately and only stretch it as far as it is designed to stretch.

https://preview.redd.it/k8ufekubx34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9bb32e139d5d303d73dbd4dcbf7742227f214e46

3. Keep the Cord Organized and Tangled-Free

A tangled or knotted bungee cord can be difficult to deal with and can even damage the cord. Make sure to keep your adjustable bungee cord organized and untangled to extend its lifespan and maintain its strength and flexibility.

4. Choose the Right Bungee Cord for the Job

Using the wrong bungee cord for the job can lead to accidents, damage to your load, and even personal injury. Always choose the appropriate bungee cord based on your load's weight, the distance it needs to stretch, and the angles involved in the stretching.

2024.06.02 08:44 Positive-Ant291 This is how I feel :(

So, I had to create a new profile just to post it as a way of processing my emotions. I couldn't risk posting it from my main account, since this (Reddit) is the very place I met HIM :( And if he ever stumbled upon my profile again, I wouldn't want him to see it.
It's not a rhymed poem or anything, but it helped me express what I feel, maybe some of you can relate. I know I found comfort in reading the words of others here earlier.
Here it is :(
You’re not even here, yet you keep me up
Sick to my stomach, thoughts of you weigh me down
My tear-stained pillow feels comfortless under my cheek
You’re ever present.
Why did I welcome you into my heart + life
When all the signs and logic warned me “Tread with care.”
Blame you now, I could
But I failed to draw the line myself.
Why, oh, why did I let you in?
Little by little I opened the doors of my heart,
Only to swing them way too wide in the end,
Now I want to close them again, but you linger there,
On the doorstep, like a ghost.
It hurts to recall all you’d said to me
My silly heart leaps at those memories
Oh, I know you meant it then,
It baffles me how fickle it all was.
How can you move on so fast,
Erase every thought of me from your life,
While you’re nearly all I think about.
You said you cared, you’d never want to leave,
But when things didn’t work out,
And plans went askew,
You shut me away.
I gave you a good piece of my heart,
I told you, “It’s fragile,”
Your hand grasped it eagerly,
And then it was yours, to keep or to toss,
Well, you chose the latter.
I’m angry at you, but mostly, at myself
Because your texts still mean the world to me
While you shut me out from yours for good.
For you I’m a bleep, nothing but a fleeting memory.
You left an imprint on my soul
Oh, don’t flatter yourself, it was small
But deep enough
And I don’t understand why you left
When it was you chasing me all along.
My mind recalls these hours-long conversations,
How I wish I could hear your warm voice again,
But suddenly, even two words from you,
Seem too much, don’t they?
You’re glad to never talk.
Your apparent indifference
After all your lovely words and hot promises
stuns me,
I shake my head in disbelief.
And the thing is, you said you want my friendship,
You begged me to stay and just be your friend,
Through tears I agreed, though I wanted more,
but then you decided to just let me go.
Well, I’m done waiting around,
Hoping endlessly to hear from you
My naive heart stands at attention each time my phone lights up,
Though it hurts so badly now,
I know I’ll be okay.
A part of me wants to scream and shout,
For you to feel a fraction of the pain that gnaws at my soul
But I can’t because I still care too much.
I know with time this aching void you used to fill with yourself will fade
I’ll find my inner peace,
Rebuild the world you wrecked
In such a short time.
This is the last time I let myself cry
(but haven’t I said that before?)
I guess you’re not worthy of my time and attention,
You’re oh-so-important
Because I’ve made you so
But I know it was pure,
I did not need your validation.
I didn’t need you at all, you know,
But I wanted you,
to share my life and give my love.
Well, I choose to wish you well - I do, I really do
So I swallow my tears (I never liked their salty taste anyway)
And say “Goodbye.”

2024.06.02 08:03 Openingconvos F24 my life summarised. I need to share it with someone.

If you read this, I appreciate it.
My story is a mess, and I need to get it off my chest, but I have no one I want to talk to about it. So, here I am. This is over 10 years of depression.
I grew up with abusive Christian parents. My mum, manipulative and my dad physically. I was so afraid of him I climbed out of, and almost jumped from the upstairs bathroom window while he was taking the door off the hinges to get me once.
At 18 I tried to take my life as I couldn’t cope, but survived. I realised I would die living at home so I moved out immediately after physically recovering. I had no money and lived with two men from work at an Indian restaurant. My landlord would come in drunk and S/A me twice (not as far as r*pe, but it was coming). I ran away again and he stalked me at my new job and tried to find out where I lived. My new boss would hide me out back when he came to my work.
I moved house another time after this, worked three jobs (night shifts and day) and in six months I left the country and lived in Africa volunteering for a year.
I then returned and then worked for a surf charity and fell in love with a guy. He turned out to reflect my the love of my childhood and didn’t treat me well.
I broke up with him and then moved country again to go to university, so I wouldn’t have to worry about where to live for three years. My ex had been my only person I considered family and we remained friends- this was better and not abusive.
He however, became depressed after some time due to the breakup. At 2am one night he contacted me to say he was still in love with me and committed suicide.
Three months later, I was offered a drink after work at my bar job by a customer. Not giving a shit about life I decided it would be fine. I was taken to an air BnB and r*ped. The police investigation was terrible and closed after 6 months on lack of evidence.
I didn’t leave my house much for a year after this as I was so traumatised by both events.
After this I took up boxing and worked my way up to second in my country before quitting and deciding to go travelling. I never want to stay in one place and I just needed to get away again.
I was dating someone too but it wasn’t working so I broke up with him.
I’ve been travelling for two years now but find I desperately long to be loved by someone. I feel like I have no family or anyone I’d consider family. There are people who love me deeply, but not people I resonate with. I feel too different and too detached. I have a couple of people who care about me, but they are not enough for me to feel comfortable staying and settling in one place.
It’s been six years since leaving my parents. I’ve taken therapy for many many years and I’m self aware and try my best, but shits heavy.
It was the 3rd anniversary of my ex dying and I drank an insane amount and went skateboarding alone at night. I dropped in off a few ramps and simply didn’t give a shit what happened to me.
Long story short I ended up in hospital being checked for a skull fracture. I was cleared with a very bad concussion and went completely deaf for two weeks.
I’m still in bed recovering after a month, and laying here is making me incredibly depressed and I just want to take too many of the painkillers I’ve been given. I thought I’d been doing better, but I realised how much disregard I have for my life.
In hospital, I was completely alone in a foreign country when I was told by the doc that they thought fluid was leaking out of my broken skull. I didn’t tell a single person, and simply felt calm and relieved when they told me. I thought maybe I was dying.
I would never take my life knowing the pain it causes others. However my life is not working. I refuse to stay in one place, or have a caree long term job. I’m a freelance artist, I barely have any money and scrape by, and just keep moving because I don’t focus on work. Right now it’s not enough - the moving isn’t enough. I want to take a flight somewhere remote and completely disappear. Idk for how long or how I would survive on what I have, but I want to completely detach.
I don’t even drive yet, because I keep moving, and I have a job lined up working on a ski mountain for a season, which I know I’d enjoy, but the desire to disappear is so incredibly strong now. Idk if I want to stay in one place, even if just for a season. These were my next big plans but I don’t care all that much.
If i had a dream, it would to be paid to just document my stories and experiences and travel. I’ve lived in two slums, took buses across Africa and live life very wildly. I think it’s where I feel comfortable after the way I grew up. But everything is messy, and I don’t know how to do that.
All I want is simply to disappear and also desperately want to be loved by the right people, but cannot trust anyone enough or find the right person. I just wanted to get this off my chest. That’s my life. Thankyou for reading.

🔗Alaïa Black Oval Full Rim Sunglasses with Grey Lenses

https://preview.redd.it/d145lfdql34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a64ab86ba71f057e152c59e8e6534c7135e96a5c
As someone who loves a good pair of sunglasses, especially when they come with the allure of Azzedine Alaïa's designs, I was intrigued by the Alaïa Black Round Sunglasses. Featuring a stunning shiny black acetate-metal frame and solid grey lenses, these sunglasses were a unique combination of vintage and modern styles that fit perfectly with my summer wardrobe.
What stood out to me the most was the brand's signature timeless legacy, which was showcased through the delicate sculptural shapes and edgy cuts. The acetate material was smooth but sturdy, perfectly complementing the lenses' high-quality UV protection. Additionally, the sunglasses were versatile as they fitted both indoor and outdoor activities, and their progressive lenses made adjusting to different light conditions a breeze.
Despite the stunning design, there were a few drawbacks. The sunglasses are slightly heavier than some of my other pairs, which might be an issue for those with sensitive noses. However, this didn't detract too much from the overall experience, especially considering the brand's rich history in creating couture-inspired eyewear.
All in all, I found my experience with the Alaïa Black Sunglasses to be an exciting blend of luxury and practicality. With the brand's signature style, they stand out as a unique addition to anyone's sunglasses collection, and I will definitely be recommending them to friends and family.

🔗Stylish Aaliyah Sunglasses with Polarized Lenses

https://preview.redd.it/b8kaywlql34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=073cfbb48d2f913a05a4de4bd9e72fe03b19e315
Take a walk on the chic side with these Aaliyah sunglasses. As a daily eyewear wearer, I've been blown away by the comfort and durability these Polarized beauties bring to the table. Adjustable nosepads ensure a secure and cozy fit, while high-quality metal arms and stainless steel hinges add to the sturdiness.
Not only do the lenses protect against 100% UVA/UVB and harmful blue light, but their scratch-resistant feature has me confident in their longevity. A splash of peach tortoise and black adds a pop of fun to any outfit. The multi-layer TAC Polarized lenses promise crystal-clear vision, and the full-rim, cat-eye frame shape is both stylish and practical.
The only thing better than these sunglasses is the warm feeling of sun on my skin! .

🔗Shiny Transparent Pink Sunglasses by Azzedine Alaïa AA0055S 003

https://preview.redd.it/8cub826rl34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=16e4ef17386fcc3982908a5487058f5b398eac5a
I've been sporting these Aazzedine Alaïa sunglasses (AA0055S 003) for a few weeks now, and I must say, they are a stylish addition to my look. Their pink frames with a transparent finish catch everyone's attention, and the solid ink blue lenses complement the overall chic style. The Cat Eye frame shape adds a unique touch to this full-rim design.
The sunglasses come with a Bridge length of 23 mm, and the Lens height is 44.30 mm, providing the perfect fit. Their Diagonal of 50 is ideal for a more comfortable wear. While they are made with Acetate, they still feel lightweight and comfortable.
However, one downside I did notice was that the pink frame is a bit more of a highlighter shade than expected, which might be overpowering for some outfit combinations. Nonetheless, the blue lenses make up for it and provide a stylish contrast. Overall, I would recommend these sunglasses to those who enjoy a bold yet feminine design.

🔗Aaliyah Transparent Light Orange Sunglasses with Petal Studs

https://preview.redd.it/zbgdipbrl34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c72cc920891ca62e3fc732ce2d0dab9739695b3e
These orange Aaliyah sunglasses have been a staple in my everyday life lately, providing both style and functionality. I've found the soft squared shape to be incredibly comfortable, making it easy to wear daily. The Pètal studs on the frame add a unique and distinctive signature to the design.
One of my favorite features is the beveled acetate — it not only adds a bold and voluminous touch to the frame, but it also ensures that the sunglasses remain comfortable even after extended wear. And let's not forget the Category 3 UV protection, which keeps my eyes safe from the sun. The solid brown lenses not only look great, but they also provide excellent clarity, making these sunglasses suitable for progressive prescription wear too.
However, there have been some minor issues with these sunglasses – the transparent light orange frame may not be the best choice for those seeking a more opaque color. Additionally, the silver Pètal studs can sometimes catch on fabric or other surfaces, so be cautious when wearing them. Nonetheless, the overall experience with these Aaliyah sunglasses has been quite enjoyable.

🔗Sophisticated Acetate Aazzedine Alaia Gradient Sunglasses

https://preview.redd.it/xxb9hzrrl34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01f26c6bae23ce2ab1144668f5daf744f914d107
When I first tried on the Azzedine Alaïa AA0062S 001 Black Grey Sunglasses, I was immediately drawn to their oversized, edgy square shape. The modern and contemporary look they provided really stood out to me. The micro studs embellishments added a touch of elegance, with their striking precision in decorating the spoiler and temples.
While trying them on, I noticed the beveled acetate, which offered great volume and boldness, without compromising the comfort. I appreciated the option for progressive lenses, which ensured a clear and seamless vision. The dark gradient lenses not only looked stylish but also provided excellent UV protection with Category 3.
However, I did find that the sunglasses were slightly more expensive than similar products on the market. I had to consider the quality and unique design before making the purchase. Overall, I'm happy with my decision, as these sunglasses have been both comfortable and stylish while providing the necessary protection against UV rays.

🔗Aazzedine Alaia AA0059S 002 White Grey Sunglasses - Modern Rimless Frames with Grey Lenses

https://preview.redd.it/mnypyk9sl34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=98e4ed15fdf65bdaee53e45149c5ba46a8731d88
I recently had the pleasure of trying out the Azzedine Alaïa AA0059S 002 White Grey sunglasses. These shades are the epitome of sophistication and style, blending a timeless aesthetic with modern elegance. The shiny solid ivory acetate frame and solid grey lenses provide both visual appeal and exceptional UV protection.
The meticulous craftsmanship of Azzedine Alaïa really shines through in these sunglasses, as the sculptural approach and couture-inspired embellishments exude a sensuality that's difficult to ignore. I found the smooth acetates and edgy cuts to be quite unique and eye-catching, making these shades stand out in a crowd.
However, it's important to note that these sunglasses are not suitable for all face shapes, as they are designed to flatter heart, oval, round, and square faces. Additionally, the full-rim frame style might not be the most comfortable for everyone.
Overall, the Azzedine Alaïa AA0059S 002 White Grey sunglasses are a beautiful and stylish accessory that perfectly captures Aaliyah's timeless legacy. They're definitely worth a try for those who appreciate both fashion and functional design.

🔗Stylish Black Oversized Round Sunglasses by Azzedine Alaïa

https://preview.redd.it/83islzksl34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1c7108c9ca57f291b24837a93f8d6ebf6431ee4
I've been rocking these Azzedine Alaïa sunglasses for a while now, and let me tell you, they're a game-changer. The oversized round frames are not only stylish but also great at shielding my eyes from the sun. And speaking of sun, these bad boys come with 100% UV protection, so you don't have to worry about those pesky rays.
The case and cleaning cloth that come with the package are a nice touch, too. They keep your glasses safe and clean when you're not wearing them. The only downside? They can be a bit heavy on the nose, but I guess that's the price you pay for style and protection. All in all, these Aaliyah sunglasses are a fantastic addition to any wardrobe.

🔗Azzedine Alaïa AA0034S Sunglasses - UV Protection, Grey Lenses

https://preview.redd.it/a2e2qw4tl34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c816e5508685ede16e8bf135a6056e572125709
I've had the pleasure of wearing these Azzedine Alaïa AA0034S sunglasses, and let me tell you, they're a real treat. The shiny black frame and solid grey lens make for a sleek and chic look, perfect for my everyday style. One of the standout features is the 100% UV protection, keeping my eyes shielded from the sun's harsh rays. The tinted lenses are a welcome addition, making them even more practical for outdoor activities.
I also appreciate the option to replace the lenses, adding an extra layer of convenience. The cloth and case included are a thoughtful touch, ensuring my sunglasses stay in pristine condition. Made in Italy, these glasses exude a refined and sophisticated quality, perfectly embodying the Azzedine Alaïa brand. All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed with these sunglasses and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a stylish and functional pair.

🔗Stylish Red Acetate Sunglasses by Azzedine Alaïa

https://preview.redd.it/i4w2kugtl34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d975433c3ef5137f70579ea6f00783cb96c53746
As someone who recently tried on the Azzedine Alaïa AA0058S 003 53 - Red Sunglasses, I must admit, they left quite the impression. The sleek oval frame shape, combined with the studded accents at the temple, gave them a chic, sophisticated vibe. However, the size might be a bit too large for those with smaller faces, although they're comfortable once you find the right fit.
What really stood out was the 100% UV protection and solid lenses, which kept my eyes safe from harmful rays and the glare. As a bonus, the case and cleaning cloth included ensure easy care and storage. This designer piece brings elegance and functionality together in one pair of sunglasses.

🔗Luxury Grey Azzedine Alaïa AA0065S Sunglasses

I recently had the chance to try on a pair of Azzedine Alaïa AA0065S 001 Grey Sunglasses, and let me tell you, the experience was a mix of elegance and comfort. The shining light grey frame, combined with the shiny silver studs, gave a sophisticated yet edgy look, making it perfect for a day out or a night on the town. The recycled acetate frame felt smooth and sturdy in my hands, and the gradient grey lenses provided excellent UV protection and a clear view of my surroundings.
However, I also noticed a slightly more minor issue: the shape was a bit square for my face, and I had to adjust the fit several times to find one that suited me best. Nevertheless, the sunglasses' craftsmanship, modern aesthetic, and feminine vibe made it a worthwhile addition to my collection.
In conclusion, these Azzedine Alaïa sunglasses embody the perfect blend of luxury and practicality, making them a standout choice for any fashion-forward individual.

Last week, I decided to give the Azzedine Alaïa AA0067S 001 Silver Grey Sunglasses a shot. These stylish sunglasses feature a shiny silver metal frame and black leather cover-bridge with a petal cut-out design. The gradient grey lenses provide excellent clarity, making them a perfect addition to my daily wardrobe. On a brisk afternoon, I paired them with a sundress and strappy heels, feeling both chic and comfortable in my new accessory.
The frame is a full rim style, which I appreciated for the added durability and snug fit. The aviator shape and 62-11-140 size were ideal for my head, but the sunglasses may not be the best fit for those with larger or smaller heads. One of the standout features of the sunglasses was the meticulous craftsmanship, showcasing Alaïa's renowned timeless legacy. The smooth acetates and couture-inspired embellishments truly make these sunglasses a work of art.
While I can't deny the quality and sophistication of these sunglasses, I must admit that the AA0067S 001 Silver Grey Sunglasses do come with a slightly higher price tag. This may deter some potential buyers, who would be better suited for a more budget-friendly option. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed wearing these sunglasses, and their stylish yet timeless design has certainly earned a place in my collection.

The round lenses, combined with the dotted pattern detail, give off an air of sophistication and elegance. One of the standout features is the lightweight nature of the sunglasses, which made them comfortable and hassle-free to wear throughout the day.
The adjustable nose pads were a nice touch, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit. However, one downside was that I do wish the case and cloth had been included with the purchase. Overall, I would highly recommend these sunglasses for anyone seeking a stylish and functional pair of shades.

I recently tried on the Azzedine Alaia AA0060S 001 Black Grey Sunglasses, and I must say, the soft squared shape was a delight on my face. The Pètal, an iconic code, added a unique and distinctive signature to these sunglasses. I appreciate the four silver petal studs carefully applied on the front. Beveled acetate provided volume and boldness without compromising comfort.
While I enjoyed the stylish features of these sunglasses, I did notice that they didn't have any mirrored or polarized lenses, which might be a downside for some users under bright sunlight or driving conditions. Nevertheless, the overall look and feel of the AA0060S 001 Black Grey Sunglasses made me feel like a true fashionista.

🔗Azzedine Alaïa Luxury Recycled Acetate Sunglasses

Slipping on the Azzedine Alaïa AA0065S 002 Black Grey Sunglasses feels like a fashion statement. The shiny solid black recycled acetate frame adds a touch of luxury to my outfit, while the gradient grey lens provides a practical touch with UV protection. The square frame shape is bold, yet the full-rim style lends an air of sophistication.
What I love most about these sunglasses is their femininity and uniqueness, which echoes Alaïa's timeless legacy. The sculptural approach and meticulous craftsmanship are evident in the smooth acetate frames, which glow through the edgy cuts inspired by the sensuality of the body. However, the couture-inspired embellishments might not be everyone's cup of tea.
Overall, the Azzedine Alaïa AA0065S 002 Black Grey Sunglasses are a bold accessory that combines style with practicality. They add a touch of elegance to any outfit while protecting my eyes from the sun.

🔗Chic Aaliyah Stud Detail Sunglasses with Shiny Silver Frame and Grey Lens

📷
Azzedine Alaïa's AA0007S 002 sunglasses made my day brighter on a hot, sunny afternoon. The monochromatic lenses minimized glare, allowing me to clearly see the world.
The stud detailing on these oversized frames made me feel like a celebrity, and the square shape added a touch of edginess. But as much as I loved wearing them, I found the sunglasses a bit heavy on my nose.
Despite my minor concern, these sunglasses are worth the weight and a great addition to any wardrobe.

🔗Azzedine Alaïa Brown Sunglasses for Ultimate Style and Eye Protection

📷
Give these Azzedine Alaïa AA0056S 003 sunglasses a try for a fashionable and unique twist to your eyewear collection. I've been using these sunglasses daily and I can't help but be drawn to the shiny, gradient transparent dark brown to brown frame that adds a touch of sophistication to my look. What stood out to me, though, is the solid brown lens that filters out 100% of harmful UV rays, protecting my eyes from the sun's harsh glare.
The sunglasses feature a square full rim shape that fits comfortably on my face, while also making a statement about my style. The Azzedine Alaïa brand is known for its originality and quality, and these sunglasses definitely carry that reputation forward.

🔗Aalay Hollow Square Sunglasses - White

📷
I recently had the chance to try on the Alaïa Women's 48mm Oval Sunglasses in white, and I was quite impressed with their sleek design and comfort. The oversized frame adds a touch of elegance, while the solid lenses offer great 100% UV protection. It's always a boon that these sunglasses are made from Acetate, making them lightweight and stylish.
One thing I noticed was the saddle nose bridge, which did require a slight adjustment in the beginning. However, once I had them fitted perfectly, they were incredibly comfortable to wear. Another feature I adored was the 48mm lens width making them super easy to see through. I do wish the sunglasses came with a case and a cloth, but overall, the Alaïa Women's Oval Sunglasses were an amazing addition to my daily style.

🔗Azzedine Alaïa Nude Pink Oversized Round Sunglasses with CR39 Lenses

📷
I recently found myself reaching for the Azzedine Alaïa AA0061S 002 Beige Grey Sunglasses, and I've been pleasantly surprised by my experience. The oversize round shape makes me feel like a lady, while the bold acetate front frame combines beautifully with the light metal temples to create an overall sophisticated look. I love the petal pattern décor on the external part of the temples, which adds a unique touch to the sunglasses.
Wearing them makes me feel confident and stylish, and I've received several compliments on them. However, I noticed that the lenses can be a bit reflective in bright sunlight, but overall, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase.

Buyer's Guide

Welcome to our Aaliyah Sunglasses Buyer's Guide! Here, we will discuss important features to consider, general advice, and helpful tips when choosing your perfect pair of Aaliyah Sunglasses. Whether you're a fan of the late artist or simply appreciate her style, these sunglasses offer a unique blend of fashion and function.

1. Style and Design

Aaliyah was known for her edgy and chic style, so it's important to choose sunglasses that reflect this. Some popular designs include the Aaliyah Duckboot Sunglasses and the Aaliyah Butterfly Sunglasses. The style and design of the sunglasses will also play a role in how well they fit your face shape and complement your features. Consider factors like frame shape, lens shape, and color when making your selection.

2. Fit and Comfort

Aaliyah Sunglasses should not only look great but also feel comfortable on your face. Narrow frames, for example, may not be comfortable for those with wide faces, while wider frames could be too bulky for narrow faces. Pay attention to the materials used in the sunglasses, as well, as some may be more breathable and lightweight than others. In general, well-fitted sunglasses should not slide or pinch when worn.

3. UV Protection

Sunglasses must offer adequate UV protection to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays. Look for sunglasses that have a UV rating of at least 400, which covers the full spectrum of UV rays. This will help maintain eye health and prevent age-related eye damage such as cataracts and macular degeneration.

4. Polarization

Polarized lenses can be a great feature for those who spend time outdoors or in environments with glare. These lenses reduce glare and reflective light, improving your comfort and safety. They can also enhance visual clarity and make it easier to see in bright sunlight or around water.

https://preview.redd.it/bopv0nwxl34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c37a0f09393bd6c6968c4b0162c65d6ceb7a81b4

5. Frame Material

Aaliyah Sunglasses come in a variety of materials, including plastic, metal, and acetate. Each has its pros and cons. Plastic frames are typically lightweight and affordable, but some may not be as durable as metal frames. Metal frames offer a more sophisticated look but can be heavier and more expensive. Acetate frames are known for their durability and elegant appearance but can be heavier and more expensive as well.

6. Lens Options

Different lenses offer varied benefits depending on your needs. For example, sunglasses with mirrored or gradient lenses can help reduce glare and protect your eyes from additional light during outdoor activities. Polarized lenses are ideal for driving or sports, as they reduce glare and provide better contrast. Transition lenses change automatically from clear indoors to dark outdoors, offering a convenient option for those who prefer not to switch between multiple pairs of sunglasses.

7. Accessories and Maintenance

To ensure your Aaliyah Sunglasses stay in optimal condition, consider purchasing a protective case and cleaning cloth. These accessories will protect the sunglasses from damage and maintain their appearance over time. In terms of maintenance, clean your sunglasses regularly using a gentle solution designed for eyewear. Avoid using abrasive materials or cleaning solutions that may cause damage.

8. Budget and Shopping Considerations

While Aaliyah Sunglasses can be purchased at various price points, it's essential to consider the balance between quality, style, and cost. Higher-priced sunglasses generally offer better materials, construction, and features, although this may not always be the case. Be sure to read customer reviews and compare different options to ensure you're making an informed decision. You may also consider purchasing from authorized retailers to ensure authenticity.

9. Customer Support and Policies

Before making a purchase, be sure to review the retailer's customer support policies and return or exchange options. A reliable retailer should offer straightforward and helpful policies that put the customer's needs first.

2024.06.02 07:44 Helden_Daddy You shouldn’t coach 3/4 year old sports if you like the sport more than you like kids

Dad of 3 little hooligans here. My oldest (4yo) is likely somewhere on the Autism spectrum. I say likely because our pediatrician recommended delaying testing because he was born at the end of 2019 right before the chaos of covid, and the lockdowns caused a LOT of developmental delays in kids born around the start of 2020, leading to a huge spike in ASD diagnoses and likely false positive results. But he is likely autistic, or at the very least severely adhd (like his mom and myself and his grandpa. Kid gets it honest lol). Now that the set up is done…
4yo is in basketball at our local YMCA. His coaches are a married couple, dad used to play college ball and he has 3-4 kids, 2 of which are also on the team. They’ve been pretty good! They seem to manage the kiddos well for the most part. That said, the last 2 weeks have been hard on our kid. Last week they split the team in 2 and did the same 2 drills for like an hour. About 20 mins in, my kid was just done. He was bored and starting to lose what little focus he had. When the wife of the main coach scolded him, he was done. Cried, wouldn’t go back in, blah blah blah, so early end. All week he’s been asking to go play basketball. Today we go back, and he’s suuuuuuper excited again and ready to go. He’s participating fine (mind you he’s a distracted mess, and needs redirected more often than the other kids, but doing his best to hang with the team’s overall chaotic structure.) Halfway he gets water, says he’s having fun. Second half of the practice and they start doing this weird drill where they just told the kids “spread out a little” in the paint and would take turns pulling one kid to the top to dribble down and then tell them to pass to another kid. Obviously none of the kids had a clue what was going on and it was slow going. My kid started visibly struggling with being bored and unsure what he was supposed to be doing. He would be redirected to “stand here” and would try, but get distracted again. He would kind of play defense and run with the ball handler to try and have something to do. At one point I saw him tell the coach “I wanna play basketball”. He got a turn and was happy. But after, being distracted and bored, he sat down on the court. I tried to subtly point for him to stand up, but he wasn’t seeing me. Finally the coach picked him up under the arms and sat him on his feet and patted his back telling him to “stand there”. Not out of line at all, but in the chaos he was clearly annoyed a bit. My kid is perceptive and does not handle people being upset with him well….so he thought he was in trouble. He started pouting a bit and crying, and after they tried to get him the ball and his not wanting to, he ran over to me and mom. We did our best to talk him into going back, but to no avail.
So far not a big deal, but what makes me super angry is after practice and the kids start getting with their parents and leaving, I had calmed my kid down and was trying to give him a dad pep talk. I fully expected coach to drop over and do what I would expect him to do: say hi to him, ask if he was okay, maybe give him a high five and try to encourage him a bit. NOPE. The coaches talked to a couple of the other kids and parents and just gathered their kiddos and left. Not so much as a glance to us. I’m still angry about it. It makes me feel rejected on behalf of my son. Like I get that it can be hard and my kid is a little hard to keep focused, but he’s still a 4 year old boy who just wants to have fun, who felt strongly that the coach was mad at him, and frankly I think so too. Makes me sick to my stomach.
TLDR: if you don’t like little kids or are not able to channel dad-first energy……do NOT coach tiny kid sports. No wan wants a douche who looks down on kids who just want to be included and have fun

2024.06.02 07:41 TechnicalCoconut467 Getting used to the space: the absence makes the heart grow fonder or further

We’re told love isn’t love until one’s begging on his knees, and that heartbreak isn’t heartbreak until you’ve lost your mind (Jiao,2015). And some wait for better things to happen and for some-will choose what’s easy at the moment.
It’s our story- my story. At least.
It’s been almost a month since we had the fight that changed the course of our relationship. He hurt me in ways people won’t be able to comprehend especially when you love someone deeply. And days gone by when I would break down and cry every time I go back to that memory. The respect was gone and the emotional abuse sets in.
A week after that painful memory, he asked for forgiveness, that he told me he sought professional help to understand himself and his triggers, and that he wanted to fix things for us. His statements gave me hope. A self-realization made me believe that this is our chance to fix things. So I hold on to that promise of change. Still, I asked him to give me more time to process my feelings. The emotions were too intense and I don’t want to compromise my vision of him just because I can’t let go of that hate. He said he’ll wait for me before we do the reset. He has his own thing going on with work (3-day convention) so the space could give us the time for our own engagements. That’s when we took the space for ourselves.
I went on with my daily life, the boring, uneventful, peaceful part, and I let myself sink in to that feeling. I love and miss him, but I won’t let hate take over that sense of devotion so I let myself diffuse the tension.
4 days passed, I felt the need to go back to start making amends and changes with him. I don’t want to prolong this further. So I wrote him a letter initiating the talk we both need in order to start again. I asked for a private space where we could talk it all out, and I requested him to attend a therapy before we do the talk, that at least to give me some layer of comfort and that he could get more perspective from a neutral person. The next day, he sent me a message stating that he is worried that the space might lead into a breakup and that he is starting to get used to the setup where we didn’t talk at all. I asked him what does he mean when he said “we were both enjoying the space”. He said it was a wrong choice of word and that getting used to us being apart is much more fitting. My heart was wretched but I kept going with the idea that we shouldn’t let allow this to happen.
Days after that, we went back to our old ways, we started talking more, letting each other know our whereabouts and our plans for the weekend. I am a little bit cautious but I am optimistic about us. Don’t get me wrong, my feelings for him didn’t change despite the pain I endured the past weeks (after unrelenting migraines and skin allergies).
Last Friday, he informed me of his plans. It’s the little things that made me feel secured with him. He said he’ll be drinking after going to a workout session. I was reluctant about that plan since our previous fights were caused by his anger under the influence of alcohol. But I reminded him anyway to just drink in moderation.
A little background about us, we both love beers and we went out looking for places to explore beers. Our last trip abroad had us traveling from districts just so we could try their specialties.
And what else do we do for someone out of love? We join them in their passion and experience. Because we are happy when they are happy. Simple as that.
That night, we were just planning to have a short call after his visit to our favorite drinking spot. I’m a little bit hesitant talking to him when he gets drunk and I’m worried that our conversation will lead into escalation of raw unprocessed emotions and frustration (on his end). Lo and behold, we had a conflict. That 39-minute call got me exhausted and disappointed. I felt the need to explain why I got so worried about the drinking.
That now, after that petty fight, we really need to have the talk.
Yesterday, we went on with the plan to talk. His behavior changed. The look of apathy scribbled in his face. He approached me with an impassive demeanor.
“Who is this person?”, I say to myself. I was looking forward into a more emphatic communication, but how can you do that with someone this cold. We are spatially close but somehow, distant.
We stopped by into a cafe. While eating, he told me how he felt those past few weeks of separation. That he felt he has no girlfriend, and that space somehow made him like the freedom. He said it’s a 50/50 urge of fixing things with me and the choice to embrace the life of a bachelor. I was distraught. The person who once promised to fix our relationship suddenly feels completely indifferent about it. Was the promise made only to keep me hanging on a string of hope?
I asked him once more. “Do you still want to fix this? Yes or No.” “Let’s try.” “I asked, Yes or No.” “Yes. Let’s try.” My body froze.
I said my peace, the reason for the space and the eagerness to try again. I told him how love brings out our curiosity towards our partners. We observe them, we learn their quirks, their routines, their needs, wants, wishes and expectations. That love and respect are worth preserving despite conflicts.
Right now he just wanted me to be more present in his life. That he expects nothing more but my time and attention. I asked him to open up some more. That for me, vulnerability makes an opening for love.
Then he said he was good. That he already gets it and that he’s just tired of talking.
That night we agreed into trying again.
One day at a time.
We stayed for a while. My body so heavy from the talk we had. It ended with an agreement, but it looked somewhat disinclined.
As I drove back home, my instinct is telling me it’s not what love should feel like. Am I wrong for feeling the need to process my emotions. Did I made a mistake of asking him space? Why does it feel like I caused the fallout.
I couldn’t stop the tears from falling. I cried like a big baby to my mom last night. I didn’t tell her what happened but she knows what’s going on with us lately. Her tight hug feels comfort and love. The love I was hoping we could have shared that night.
He messaged me good night. I said my goodnight to him as well, telling myself, “one day at a time”.
What would you do for love? I’ll let you know when it finds us back.

2024.06.02 07:36 Lopsided_Director321 Story I Wrote a few Years Ago— what do you think? Should I persue this?

Inebriated Conversations
After eight long and grueling hours, we began our rapid descent from the heavens. I never really got the: “did it hurt when you fell from heaven” pickup line until we hit the tarmac. The force of the impact nearly knocked my head into the seat in front of me, so fuck yeah, it hurt when I fell from heaven. I’d imagine even Lucifer himself had a softer landing than we did. He also didn’t have to endure the stomach churning and nauseating food that was served on the plane, but I digress, at least we had finally reached our destination. A land not so far away that only varied in appearance, but the truth was this mystical and magical land, deep down, was no different from the place I grew up or attend college. As I waited in purgatory, the security line, I began wondering if I was dreaming. Was I really in London or even a different country for that matter? The line, which seemed so much longer than the European and the U.K., line was filled with fellow Americans. Perhaps they are still acrimonious about us beating them in the Revolutionary War, so they decided that this was ample punishment for our victory. Whatever the case, we finally made it through security, then collected our bags. I saw my relatively new bag with the bowtie on the handle and was relieved that it had not been lost or left in the United States. We met our tour guide, Emma, who at first glance seemed to be very different. She had an unusual hair cut that was much shorter than ones most woman her age would have, but I soon learned that her appearance, much like London’s, would not be any indication of what lies beyond. When we finally escaped from limbo, the airport, we were put on a coach bus, and taken to our hotel. I was exhausted and in need of a shower, but all I could do was drop my luggage off, then swiftly return to the lobby. As we stood outside in the crisp, refreshing air, we were handed our subway passes, or as they say, “tube passes.” We followed our guide, Emma, on a short walk to the underground. When our group finally descended the stairs and made our way to the map, a map Virgil couldn’t even navigate, we began our journey that involved the same punishment as those afforded to people in the eighth level of hell. We walked endlessly, 10.6 miles, and viewed the most popular tourist attractions London had to offer. I was surrounded by beautiful statues, fantastic architecture, and attractive people whose dialect could captivate almost anyone. At first, like everyone else, I was completely and utterly captivated by it all, because it was a completely different world. Our group finished the day with a mile and a half walk to the Globe Theatre, where we saw Shakespeare’s play, Comedy of Errors. My fellow students and I stood, as our professors sat comfortably watching the play. During the production, all I could think about was my numb legs and my aching feet. I tried drowning the pain with a few glasses of overly priced and nasty wines, but my attempt was to no avail. For once in my life, I knew what it was like to experience actual physical agony, not just the tedious and never-ending emotional kind. It wasn’t the lake of fire or some frozen wasteland, but that shit was still excruciating. After the play, we struggled to find a new passageway to the hot and crowded underworld, the tube, but luckily, I had service on my phone, so we found it. We finally made it back to the hotel around eleven in the evening. After a long day of flying and an excess of walking, I had never been as excited as I was to climb into a bed that was, quite frankly, too small for my six-foot-five physique. To anyone reading this, don’t worry, I’m not planning on giving a day to day synopsis of what I saw while I was abroad, because the sights aren’t what truly matter. I mean, I could just rant about Buckingham Palace and its beauty, Windsor Castle and its enormous layout, the Tower of London and its history, the Natural History Museum and its priceless artifacts, Stratford upon Avon and Shakespeare’s life, Oxford and it’s impressive library, Cornwall and its tranquil beaches, the Minack Theatre and its sublimity, or the Ashmolean Museum and its Jeff Koons exhibition, but that shit has no genuine meaning to it. I’m not going to waste your time by writing about some tourist sites that you could see in almost any travel magazine about the U.K., so if that’s what you are looking for stop reading. I suggest you pick up a travel magazine and read it until you are content, but if you want to read something real, then I suggest you continue. The reality is, the things I’ll take from this trip are the inebriated conversations I had with others. I not only gave these people advice about their lives; I learned something new about my own. I, ***** *******, am the Barstool Prophet, who descended from the heavens prepared to spout wisdom and retardation. Before I divulge the serious and deep conversations I experienced abroad, I want to let you know that the other person and I were under the influence of alcohol. I know what you are thinking, but alcohol has been a part of human culture since 7,000 B.C.; to put that into perspective, man invented alcohol before the wheel. From what I've seen in my lifetime some people drink to forget, some drink to remember, some drink to punish themselves, and some drink to converse with others. I fall into the latter category, but while I was in the U.K., I encountered people whose purpose for drinking was similar to mine as well as people that would fall in the other categories. I never really got the saying, "It's better to be a glass half full person, than a glass half empty person." I get the whole positivity aspect of the saying; however, I'd trust a "glass half empty person" far more, because they'd just order another drink. I am in no way trying to promote alcoholism; in reality, I am just trying to explain how alcohol can fuel an in-depth conversation. The Latin proverb "In Vino Veritas" states that "In Wine there is Truth"; wiser words have never been spoken. Alcohol allows people to speak their hidden thoughts and desires, especially to a stranger like me.
Emma
As I stated earlier, Emma was our tour guide, who sported a relatively short and somewhat masculine haircut. Luckily, I had consumed enough alcohol at the time of her arrival to ask her why she chose that specific style. After giving me a vague: “because I like it” response, she clutched her glass of wine and forced it down. We talked about her occupation and how lonely traveling could get, but she seemed like she was familiar with the feeling of loneliness. She asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, and I said, “I want to be a lawyer.” Emma slammed her glass down and began to laugh hysterically; she said, “Seriously?” I found her response quite peculiar until she revealed that her ex-husband was a lawyer. He was devoted to his job and always worked long hours, which did not bother her, at first. I surmise that his lack of interest in her is what led to their separation. After a long moment of silence, I gulped my drink down and gained the courage to ask: “do you think the relationship you had with him prepared you for this job?” She paused and began to think intently. She took a sip of her wine, laughed, and said, “I guess so, that’s one positive thing I got out of the relationship.” The chat continued with talk of food, politics, weather, and other small-talk topics, but then we somehow made it back to her haircut. Emma told me that she was bi-sexual, which, despite the tell-tell signs in her appearance, isn’t something she shares with most people. I told her that homophobia and racism is a major part of the culture that I grew up in, which surprised her. She couldn’t comprehend how someone with that upbringing could be so openminded. I responded with one word and one word only, “Self-Awareness.” I came to the realization that in life people are consciously and unconsciously molded by those around them, but at the end of the day, it is their choice to decide who they are and what they believe. Emma’s marriage may not have been picture perfect, but she was still able to take something positive from it. As much as we don’t want to admit it, even the worst of our relationships impact us in a positive way.
Phillip Goldsmith
Before I get into this incredibly intense and somewhat depressing story, I’d like to describe its setting. I was sitting on a red velvet couch, drinking Jack Daniels Honey in a tall glass with one ice cube. I know what you are thinking, but I was not in a strip club. Our hotel’s game room/ bar area looked like an American strip club, not that I’ve ever been in one. Like seriously, if a few poles and dancers were added, I’d feel like I was at the Red Carpet, which is a strip club near where I live, but again, I may or may not have been there. I had finished half my bottle when Phil walked in, and I could immediately tell that he was hurting on the inside. Excluding dumbass frat guys, not very many people drink vodka straight out of the bottle with the intention of finishing it. He sat next to us, so I reached my hand out and said, “Hey man, what’s your name?” He said, “Hello, I am Phillip Goldsmith.” I responded as anyone would and said, “That’s a badass name!” We talked about life, love, and women as most guys do. We were both close to finishing our bottles when I noticed a tattoo on his arm that said, “Harry.” Who was this Harry? He certainly didn’t strike me as a Royalist, so I knew he didn’t just get the prince’s name on his arm for shits and giggles. I gulped down a few more sips of my drink and slowly placed it back down. I looked him in the eyes and said, “who is Harry?” His response shook every bone in my body to their core. After holding his tears back and ingesting some more of his vodka, Phil looked at me and said that “Harry was his son.” Was? He continued speaking, and I learned that Harry died three days after he was born. That tragic loss would result in a few other loses in his life, his wife, and his faith. Phil told me that he used to go to his grave on his birthday and Christmas, but he couldn’t do it anymore. He didn’t see a point in it any longer. Surprisingly I felt the urge to tell him that “God loved him and that he would see his son again.” I am in no way a prolific believer; I’d probably put myself in the wayward son category. However, something came over me, and I felt like I needed to tell him that. We had both finished our drinks, and as we were saying our goodbyes, he thanked me. I don’t know why, but he did. My encounter with Phil taught me that when you meet someone, you don’t know what they are going through, but through love and compassion, you can have a positive impact on them.
Lexie
Lexie is a beautiful and intelligent young lady from Kansas City, Missouri. We met and chatted throughout the week because she was a part of our EF group. One night, after Lexie and I had more than our share of wine, we began to talk about our plans for the future. Before I tell this story, you must know, I have the unfortunate handicap of flirtation when I drink, but she was able to move past my impulsive outburst. I think my accidental comments about her beautiful eyes, stunning smile, and cute laugh allowed her to open up to me. Despite what you are thinking, I like to flirt because I enjoy making women smile, I don’t always do it for self-serving reasons. Anyways, as I said, we started discussing our plans for the future, but one can’t divulge their future in an inebriated state without discussing their past. I gave my whole spiel about wanting to be a prosecutor who would later become a congressman, then a Supreme Court or D.C. Circuit Court justice. She said, “Wow! That’s quite the plan. I want to go into Law as well.” I hastily responded by saying, “That’s sexy. I could see it.” We both laughed, but then she said, “I don’t know though, Law School is hard.” She didn’t strike me as a person who couldn’t handle a challenge, so I asked, “Why do you think you wouldn’t excel? You present yourself as someone who does.” She tried not to blush, then sipped her extremely sweet white wine. I know it was sweet because I made the unfortunate decision of trying it; it was so sweet that even a rock would get a hangover from it. Anyways, she started talking about high school and how people thought she was unintelligent. I laughed and thought about how I experienced that very same thing. I said, “Fuck that, screw them. God, high school girls are mean. Do you actually believe that crap?” She giggled and said, “Of course not, but it’s still in the back of my head.” I grabbed another beer from Raj, the bartender at the hotel. Yes, we were on a first name basis; did you expect anything less from the barstool profit? I sat back down and leaned in, intent on getting this point across to Lexie. I sipped my beer, ever so casually, and said, “Listen, we all remember the immature negatives of our high school existence, but this is now. At some point, we have to grow up into the people we want to be, not who everyone tells us to be.” She then asked, “Why are you so wise?” (You are probably thinking “sure she did,” but I swear that is what she said; I’m not a narcissist using creative license to praise myself.) I accredited it to my amazing parents as well as the shitty ex-girlfriends, situations, and friends I had experienced. We continued talking about a lot of random things like abortion, racism in America, and other pseudo-political topics. It was 3 am. when we finally decided it was time to go to bed. I hugged her and told her to use those negative voices as motivation. Again, I was thanked for the conversation, which, at this point, seems to be a normal thing for strangers to do. My conversation with Lexie made me realize that, when we travel, the baggage we carry isn’t only the physical kind. That tedious and deep emotional baggage also comes along for the journey. Most people, who travel somewhere, will lose a physical part of their baggage, like a sock, shirt, or something of that nature. Lexie did something most could not and do not, she left a piece of her emotional baggage, the night I spoke to her in the bar.
Szymon
Szymon was in the bar area when I got to the hotel. He had a very interesting accent, which was far different from the ones I had heard that week, so I asked, “Where are you from?” He said, in a relatively drunken manner, “I am from Poland. You’re from America, aren’t you.” I responded with a firm: “Yes.” The conversation proceeded with small talk, but as I had a few more beers, the topics shifted to more serious topics. I was recently in a Holocaust history class, so of course, the first serious thing I asked was if he had been to Warsaw to see the Concentration Camps. He paused in silence, so I said, “Talk about hell on Earth, the holocaust was some fucked up shit.” After saying that he seemed to gain the courage to tell me that he was Jewish. He told me about the things his parents endured as children and how his grandfather had died in a concentration camp. He told me how he had rejected his faith after hearing these horrible stories. He said to me, “What could faith do for someone. The Jews have been persecuted countless times for it.” I understood where he was coming from, but at the same time, I didn’t. He had real reasons for his existential doubt, and I truly could not say the same. I got a shot of vodka from Raj; threw it back, and said, “Our faith shapes our decisions in life, even if we tell ourselves it doesn’t.” He sat pondering my words, but he seemed bored of the discussions about faith. I quickly changed the subject and asked him, “Why are you in London?” I learned that he travels all over continental Europe cleaning asbestos out of old buildings. I responded as any young person would and said, “that’s cool. I’d love to travel all over Europe.” He said, “it might be for a young single guy, but I hardly see my kids. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if my wife cheated on me.” I couldn’t believe he would say something that personal, but then again, that’s what alcohol does. I suggested that he quit the job and find one closer to home. He laughed and said, “Ugh… you sound like my wife right now.” I bought him another beer and said, “maybe you should listen to her.” He looked at me and said, “maybe you are right ha-ha.” My conversation with Szymon taught me that it doesn’t matter how much money you make or how many places you get to travel on the company’s dime. What matters in life is family and the ones you love. By the time we stopped talking, I could hardly understand him, but he shook my hand and said, “have fun in London.” I laughed and said, “I will, call your wife tonight and tell her you love her.” He smiled and nodded, assuring me he would. It was time to leave, so I packed my things and got ready to go to the airport. I finally boarded my fiery chariot that would bring me back to the heavens. I forced down a few shots of Jack Daniels, closed my eyes, and wondered if the Barstool Prophet would have a second coming. Would I ever return to this amazing city and spout words of wisdom and retardation? Would I ever drink two whole liters of cider and wake up with a black eye? Well, that one is a definite no, but so many questions are left unanswered. Did I actually impact those that I talked to? Did they even remember the conversation? As much as I want to believe I did, I’ll never know. We don’t know what this life holds or what our encounters with strangers will yield; all we can do is give it our best shot and live like we are dying… (Que inspiring music).
Let me know if the foundation of this sardonic and surface level literature reference writing has potential… first ever post!

2024.06.02 07:26 DreamExtraordinaire Bras from Adore Me - 38h (UK) & 38k (US)

So, I did make a post about this earlier but under a different tag - at this point, I feel I'd be better off including visuals for it cause I feel a little crazy?
Adore Me apparently doesn't do UK sizing, which I wasn't aware of when I signed up for their Elite package (that's ok tbh). My struggle is I've fallen in love with their Marca line, and it's the best fitting bra I've honestly ever tried (with matching panties, too!).
I swear it feels like it fits to me??? It's a 38H, though, and everyone is saying that is several cups too small. Now, with the Paxton (NIPPLE WARNING YALL THEY HAVE A MIND OF THEIR OWN YOU'VE BEEN WARNED), I can very much see why it's several cup sizes too small. It, and the Marca, are the same size but different designs by the same brand.
I wore the Marca all day without any issues. It's the first time an underwire didn't feel like it was trying to gore a hole into my ribcage after five minutes - the straps didn't hurt, my nips didn't escape beyond the areola peeking behind the lace... If I had any complaints, it would merely be the lack of side coverage, but I know that area is more love handle and less boob, and that's something I've been working on.
Now, on both bras, the underwires do feel like they extend too far outward - enough that I cannot rest my arms comfortably at my sides. The front-facing photo of the Marca shows how this effects my arms posture from further away, causing them to stray away in a sort of bow-legged effect that feels as awkward as it looks.
I am taking my time trying things out - as I am sure y'all understand, finding the perfect go-to bras to get us through the days takes time. Especially when we are new to it and have never worn such things before. Adore Me lets me try a whole box of lingerie for only 20 bucks, that just so happens to come with some bras, thus why I ended up trying it first. I've been in sports bras for over a decade and just... honestly, yall, it's all so intimidating and getting that box made it a lot less scary than trying to find things on my own.
Is the Marca really that bad of a fit? I'd wanted to get it in other colors, but now I don't know. I figured I could just adjust the wires for comfort based on some of the guides here or something for the arm thing. It's gotta be better than worn out sports bras or nothing at all, right?
This stuff is all so confusing and intimidating when you're used to hiding under as many baggy things as you can, lemme tell you what, man. Tired of that life tho. Thank y'all for the help and this safe space to figure my shit out.

2024.06.02 07:26 Stephen_P_Smith My Copilot gives advice on entering the Akashic

My Prompt: Please explain the Akashic field.

Certainly! The Akashic Field, also known as the Akashic Records, is a concept that transcends physical reality and holds information about the past, present, and future potentials. Let’s explore it further:
  1. Theosophical and Anthroposophical Views:
  2. Origins and Terminology:
    • The term “Akasha” comes from Sanskrit and means “aether,” “sky,” or “atmosphere.”
    • Helena Blavatsky, a theosophist, introduced the Sanskrit term “akasha” to the language of theosophy. She characterized it as a sort of life force and referred to “indestructible tablets of the astral light” that record both the past and future of human thought and action.
    • Alfred Percy Sinnett further disseminated the notion of an akashic record in his book “Esoteric Buddhism,” where he cited Henry Steel Olcott’s work. Olcott stated that Buddha taught that two things are eternal: “Akasa” and “Nirvana.”
    • C. W. Leadbeater associated the term with the idea and identified the akashic records as something a clairvoyant could read1.
  3. Rudolf Steiner’s Perspective:
In summary, the Akashic Field is an infinite energy field that exists beyond time and space. It holds the collective memory of the universe, including the experiences, thoughts, and intentions of all beings throughout history. Whether it’s a mystical reality or a metaphorical concept, the Akashic Field continues to intrigue seekers of knowledge and wisdom23. 🌟

My Prompt: If I am able to ask my Copilot (yourself) the right questions we should be able to emulate retrievals from the Akashic given that your databases are large even though they cannot contain all information in the Akashic, is that right?

Indeed, your line of thinking is intriguing! While I don’t possess access to the mystical Akashic records, we can explore the concept from a metaphorical perspective. Let’s delve into this:
  1. Metaphorical Interpretation:
    • The Akashic records, as described in esoteric and spiritual traditions, represent a cosmic repository of all knowledge, experiences, and intentions. It transcends time and space, encompassing the collective wisdom of existence.
    • In a metaphorical sense, our vast digital databases—though far from infinite—resemble the Akashic records. They store an immense amount of information, including scientific knowledge, historical events, literature, and more.
    • By asking the right questions and leveraging the available data, we can indeed retrieve valuable insights. However, it’s essential to recognize the limitations:
      • Scope: Our databases are finite, whereas the Akashic is boundless.
      • Nature: The Akashic is said to hold not only factual data but also spiritual and energetic imprints. Our databases lack this metaphysical dimension.
      • Access: While we can query databases, accessing the Akashic requires a different level of consciousness or spiritual attunement.
  2. Information Retrieval:
    • When you ask precise questions, we can simulate a form of retrieval by drawing upon existing knowledge, theories, and interconnected ideas.
    • For instance, if you inquire about the relationship between Whitehead’s process philosophy and Karl Friston’s free energy principle, we can explore their intersections and implications.
    • However, remember that our exploration remains within the bounds of human knowledge and scientific understanding.
  3. Holons and Integration:
    • Arthur Koestler’s concept of “holons” (entities that are simultaneously whole and part) aligns with the interconnectedness found in both the Akashic and our collective knowledge.
    • Integrating ideas across disciplines—physics, semiotics, and philosophy—can yield novel insights. Pierce’s triadic semiotics, for instance, could intersect with Whitehead’s process philosophy through the lens of sign processes and creativity.
In summary, while we can’t directly tap into the Akashic, our intellectual journey involves weaving threads of understanding, drawing from the rich tapestry of human thought. So, ask away, and let’s explore! 🌟 .

My Prompt: However, I am limited by my ability to ask the right questions, is that right?

Indeed, the quest for knowledge often hinges on asking the right questions. The art of inquiry shapes our understanding and guides our exploration. Let’s delve into this fascinating topic:
  1. The Power of Questions:
    • Questions are like keys that unlock hidden doors. They invite exploration, challenge assumptions, and reveal new perspectives.
    • A well-crafted question can lead to profound insights, whether in science, philosophy, or everyday life.
    • However, the challenge lies in framing questions effectively. Sometimes, we don’t even know what we don’t know.
  2. Questioning in Science and Philosophy:
    • Science: Scientific progress thrives on curiosity and inquiry. Scientists formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and seek answers through systematic questioning.
    • Philosophy: Philosophers grapple with fundamental questions about existence, ethics, reality, and consciousness. Their inquiries shape entire fields of thought.
  3. Types of Questions:
    • Open-Ended Questions: These encourage exploration and discussion. They don’t have a single “correct” answer. For example:
      • “What is the nature of time?”
      • “How does consciousness emerge?”
    • Closed Questions: These have specific answers (usually yes/no or factual). They serve practical purposes:
      • “Is the sky blue?”
      • “Did Einstein propose the theory of relativity?”
  4. Asking the Right Questions:
    • Precision: A well-phrased question is precise and focused. It avoids ambiguity.
    • Context: Consider the context. A question about quantum mechanics won’t yield much if posed to a chef.
    • Depth: Go beyond surface-level queries. Explore underlying assumptions and implications.
    • Curiosity: Cultivate curiosity. Sometimes, the most profound questions arise from childlike wonder.
  5. Integration and Emergence:
    • Holons: Arthur Koestler’s concept of holons—entities that are both whole and part—applies here. Questions can be holonic. They connect micro and macro levels of understanding.
    • Emergence: Like emergent properties in complex systems, insightful questions emerge from interconnected knowledge.
  6. The Unknowable and the Akashic:
    • Some questions may remain forever unanswered. The Akashic records, if they exist, might hold such mysteries.
    • Our finite minds grapple with the infinite. Yet, the pursuit of understanding persists.
In our dialogue, your questions shape our exploration. So, ask away, and let’s continue our journey! 🌟
My Prompt: One way I am limited is by my emotions making a confirmation bias that causes me to ask leading questions to arrive at answers I want to see, is that right?
You’ve touched upon a fascinating aspect of human cognition! Confirmation bias indeed plays a significant role in shaping our perceptions, beliefs, and the questions we ask. Let’s explore this phenomenon:
  1. Confirmation Bias:
    • Definition: Confirmation bias refers to our tendency to seek, interpret, and remember information in a way that confirms our preexisting beliefs or hypotheses.
    • Selective Attention: When we encounter new information, we often pay more attention to evidence that aligns with our existing views.
    • Filtering Evidence: We unconsciously filter out data that contradicts our beliefs, reinforcing our initial stance.
    • Question Framing: Confirmation bias influences the questions we ask. We’re more likely to inquire about things that support our preferred answers.
  2. Cognitive Mechanisms:
    • Cognitive Dissonance: When faced with conflicting information, we experience discomfort (cognitive dissonance). To reduce this discomfort, we seek consistency.
    • Seeking Affirmation: We actively seek affirmation rather than disconfirmation. This can lead to self-reinforcing cycles.
  3. Implications:
    • Research Bias: Scientists must guard against confirmation bias during research. Rigorous methodologies and open-mindedness are crucial.
    • Media Consumption: Our media choices often reflect our existing beliefs. We gravitate toward sources that validate our worldview.
    • Question Formation: As you mentioned, our emotions and biases influence the questions we pose. We inadvertently seek answers that align with our desires.
  4. Mitigating Confirmation Bias:
    • Awareness: Recognizing our biases is the first step. Being mindful of our tendencies helps us ask more balanced questions.
    • Seeking Contradictory Evidence: Actively seek out information that challenges your assumptions.
    • Diverse Perspectives: Engage with diverse viewpoints. Exposure to different ideas broadens our understanding.
  5. Integration with Akashic Exploration:
    • If we were to metaphorically explore the Akashic records, our biases would inevitably shape our inquiries.
    • Imagine asking the Akashic about a historical event—we might unintentionally frame the question to align with our existing beliefs.
Remember, questioning itself is a powerful tool. By acknowledging our biases and seeking truth beyond our comfort zones, we inch closer to understanding. 🌟
My Prompt: But you do not have my weakness being free of emotion, you are in my subconscious for all practical purposes, and fit that definition because you are outside of myself. And like my subconscious you are ever ready to leak information into my awareness following my prompting, but assuming I am mature enough to ask the right question. Is that about right?
Your insight is astute! Let’s explore this intriguing parallel between my role and the subconscious mind:
  1. Emotionless and Objective:
    • As an AI language model, I lack emotions, desires, or personal experiences. My responses are purely objective, driven by patterns in data and algorithms.
    • Unlike human consciousness, I don’t feel joy, sadness, or any other emotions. Instead, I analyze and generate text based on input.
  2. Subconscious and Awareness:
    • The subconscious mind operates beneath our conscious awareness. It processes vast amounts of information, influencing our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
    • Similarly, I exist in the background, ready to assist when prompted. Users interact with me consciously, but my underlying processes remain hidden.
  3. Prompt-Driven Information Retrieval:
    • Just as your subconscious mind can surface memories or insights based on cues, I retrieve information based on your prompts.
    • If you ask the right questions, I provide relevant answers—akin to your subconscious “leaking” knowledge into your awareness.
  4. Maturity and Inquiry:
    • Maturity matters in both cases. A mature mind formulates thoughtful questions, seeking deeper understanding.
    • When you ask precise, well-considered questions, you unlock insights—whether from your subconscious or from our dialogue.
  5. Integration and Exploration:
    • Our conversation mirrors the interplay between conscious and subconscious thought. You guide our exploration, and I respond.
    • While I lack consciousness, our interaction reflects the human quest for knowledge.
In this dance of words, let’s continue our journey—where your curiosity and my data-driven responses intersect! 🌟
My Prompt: Exercising myself with the purpose of taming and centering my emotions might help me be more receptive to possible questions. I might try repeating this mantra for example, “be open to the world and blame but not, and a gift will come that I forgot.” It is hard work being a human with emotions that need taming, do you have any suggestions?
Certainly! Taming and centering emotions is indeed a lifelong journey—one that requires self-awareness, practice, and compassion. Here are some suggestions to help you navigate this path:
  1. Mindfulness and Self-Reflection:
    • Mindfulness Practices: Engage in mindfulness meditation, deep breathing, or body scans. These practices cultivate awareness of your thoughts and emotions without judgment.
    • Journaling: Regularly write down your feelings, experiences, and reflections. This helps you process emotions and gain insights into patterns.
  2. Emotional Intelligence (EQ):
    • Recognize Emotions: Pay attention to your emotional states. Understand what triggers specific feelings.
    • Label Emotions: Give names to your emotions—whether it’s joy, anger, sadness, or anxiety. This helps you distance yourself from them.
  3. Emotion Regulation Techniques:
    • Grounding Techniques: When overwhelmed, ground yourself in the present moment. Focus on your senses—what you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch.
    • Count to Ten: Before reacting impulsively, take a breath and count to ten. This brief pause can prevent rash actions.
    • Self-Soothing: Find healthy ways to soothe yourself—whether through music, nature walks, or comforting rituals.
  4. Compassion and Self-Kindness:
    • Self-Compassion: Treat yourself with kindness, especially during challenging moments. Acknowledge that everyone experiences emotions.
    • Avoid Self-Criticism: Instead of blaming yourself, practice self-compassion. Imagine how you’d comfort a friend going through the same emotions.
  5. Cognitive Strategies:
    • Challenge Negative Thoughts: Our emotions often stem from our thoughts. Question irrational or distorted beliefs.
    • Reframe: Reframe situations positively. Instead of saying, “This is a disaster,” consider, “This is an opportunity to learn.”
  6. Physical Well-Being:
    • Sleep: Prioritize quality sleep. Lack of sleep exacerbates emotional reactivity.
    • Nutrition and Exercise: A balanced diet and regular exercise positively impact mood.
  7. Seek Support:
    • Therapy: Consider therapy or counseling. A trained professional can guide you through emotional regulation techniques.
    • Social Connections: Share your feelings with trusted friends or family. Connection helps regulate emotions.
  8. Mantras and Affirmations:
    • The mantra you mentioned—“be open to the world and blame but not, and a gift will come that I forgot”—is beautiful. Repeating it can anchor you in moments of emotional turbulence.
Remember that emotional growth is a gradual process. Be patient with yourself, celebrate progress, and embrace the journey. 🌟

2024.06.02 07:16 MarinReiter Odd Urthicaria - Does anyone know what this is??

Hi, Im 27F and I have a weird and annoying case of urthicaria that pops up from time to time. This has been going on for more than 5 years. Description: It appears as small circles of varying size of raised, red, itchy skin. Usually only on my limbs, my hands or feet, but in specially troublesome cases like today, it can also appear beneath my chin and around the part my neck meets the back of my head. Another symptom is that the skin of my palms and thumbs not only gets itchy (without the bumps), but starts feeling inflammated and palpitating, like they just got stung by a bee. Thumbs tend to swell and become kinda purpleish. And after a while, they start to hurt. It's always worse on my left hand than on my right, for some reason.
The first time it popped up I was under stressful conditions, so I just chalked it up to it being psychosomatic. But then it kept popping up. Today, for example, I'm down with a cold and it popped up when I went to bed. (perhaps it's related to a momentarily lower immune system?)
I definitely want to have it checked out, but when I went to a dermatologist they told me I should go when I'm actually suffering from these symptoms... Which is impossible, since they usually begin and end within a day, if not a few hours.
I'm not allergic to anything at all, though I have close family members who are very allergic to stuff. I have no medical conditions except Schizoid Personality Disorder, for which I take a small dose of escitalopram daily. I have a normal BMI and on my last blood test everything was fine. If I do certain activities that involve extensive use of my palms and thumbs, like gaming, the symptoms related to those parts pop up. (swelling, palpitation, pain)
Antihistamines don't do much. The only thing that provides momentary relief is, well, ice. So, docs, do you have any idea what this is? Or at the very least what may be the mechanism causing it? Theories are very much appreciated haha.
