Hi everyone, looking for some advice on my PIP claim.
I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2019 after having joint pain since 2017. Been on medication since then, but have been suffering with a horrendous flare up since Sept 2023 so have been put on some additional medication (which has not helped much). During this period a few people advised me I would qualify for PIP which is why I put my claim through.
I applied for PIP in January 2024, had a face to face meeting with an assessor May 8th. I got a letter through over the weekend saying my claim had been denied.
I really felt like in my assessment I explained myself ok, and was clear that I had issues with most aspects of what their requirements are but I don’t believe this was reflected in their denial letter.
Couple questions:
I’m going to appeal. Is phone or letter best? I don’t necessarily feel I have any ‘new’ information but I do feel as though they’ve minimised the struggles I have.
If I’m denied a second time, can I appeal again? Or is there anything else I can do?

We did a full raid for 25 minutes, cleaned the full map, collected samples and the host kicked us out at extraction... and you can't do anything? You can't even report this behaviour! What a terrible game design this is!
I also don't understand, why is it good for the host? He wasn't even a low-level player something above level 50. So annoying...

6 months after my husband was arrested for solicitation of prostitution and finding out he had been going to massage parlors and seeing escorts for years.
•I’ve been reading books on cbt, ptsd, negative thinking. Workbooks on self-esteem and self love.
•Individual and marriage therapy. I have a psychiatrist and and therapist
•Working out 5 days a week at 5AM
•Multiple medications. Antidepressant, mood stabilizer, anti psychotics.
•Venting on Reddit haha
I had months of paranoia, anxiety, feelings of insecurity and “I’m not enough mentality”.
These are things I have done that have helped me the most.
•Dedicating at least 1 hour a day to whatever my top most goal was. Since mine was recovery in general I would either work out for an hour, meditate, read, did my therapy, or a form of self care (bath, massage, etc.) this time has to be non-negotiable.
•Learn the science behind what is going on. The things you are feeling are activated in the back of your brain. The same feelings that you get when a grizzly bear is chasing you, is activated. Your brain is really trying to protect you so be kind to it. But also your brain can’t function in 2 places at once. You need to make the brain go to your front lobe in times of high emotion or panic. You can do that but thinking back from 100 by 7 or listing names that start with the letter B etc.
•Give yourself grace and be kind to yourself. You have a reason for the way you feel. This is trauma. Especially if you are with a narcissist don’t let them or anyone make you feel like you are crazy and that your feelings aren’t valid.
•Journal. I would write self forgiveness or things I really liked about myself, goals for the week and month.
•Cognitive Behavior. I have to practice this since I’m really not good at it but it is supposed to require your brain once you get good. Event occurs, thought happens, and then behavior occurs. Example. Husband checked out girl in restaurant, immediate feelings of insecurity. Then I would be quiet or angry the rest of the date. It’s a lot of self sabotage. Instead try to change the thought but it has to be something you really believe. Like I might would change it to “I mean she is really pretty, can’t really blame him for looking but he is choosing to be with me right now when he could be doing anything else.” I’m sure that thought could be better hence why I’m not super good at this yet lol.
•You are going to be okay regardless. When have you not figured it out? Say they mess up again. You’ll use rock bottom to propel you and good things will continue to happen in your life. Say they never mess up again, that’s great too. “With or Without You” mentality.
•Have some form of support. Whether it’s a therapist or a good friend you need someone to listen and make you feel like your feelings are validated.
•Fall in love with yourself. You have great qualities that somebody will love about you but even if you don’t date again. You are enough just being you. My aunt never got in serious relationship again after she divorced in her 30s and she lives her best life!
•I read on a sex worker forum and they said that men acting out is kind of similar to them going to the bathroom haha. They have an urge that needs to be met but it’s so not emotional. They compartmentalize sex as a basic human function. Any if they cheat on you emotionally, that’s another mental issue. I don’t know why this just made me feel better.

First, you need to pin down the violation reason. Ex: trademark infringement, unoriginal content, irrelevant product promotion, etc. This is typically easy to do, if it's a video violation- they will give you the exact violation reason. However, account violations are trickier.
Next, you need to try to pin down the EXACT CAUSE for the violation reason. So, if you got a trademark infringement violation, what exactly in your video triggered this? If you got an unoriginal content violation, what exactly in your video triggered this? You need to pin this down, to even have a shot at appealing.
But even IF you pin down the exact cause for the violation reason, guess what? Our Affiliate Appeal Policy page does not detail the supporting documents necessary for every single violation and some of the supporting documents listed would be impossible for us to collect. Fun stuff! 😭

Hi all, this is a post I wish I had read. Many of you have complicated issues that doctors do not help with, and I am not directing this towards you. I am directing this towards the various posters I see asking for advice about their health issues instead of seeking out medical care first and foremost.
I had made several posts here around a month ago about having an incredibly painful clit, to the point I couldn’t work and walk. It was honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever been through, that may sound melodramatic but having intense pain in the most sensitive part of your body for a prolonged period of time is.. yeah. This was my primary symptom, with some occasional itching around the labia. I started googling my symptoms (my first mistake, really), and posting on here, and after reading several posts I concluded what I was most likely suffering with was either smegma buildup or a hair down there stuck under the clitoris hood. The itching made some people say maybe yeast infection, but I didn’t have the typical cottage cheese discharge, I didn’t look inflamed down there at all, the itching was very subtle, and clitoris pain isn’t necessarily a common symptom. It was also on and off for months.
A lot of people recommended I examine down there and check under the hood.. but my anatomy makes it incredibly difficult to do so since it’s very in there, it’s also hypersensitive and just thinking about that makes me want to vomit. Also I have never had issues down there before so it didn’t make sense to me it would suddenly have some sort of buildup. I attempted to but the surrounded labia was so sensitive to the touch it made me jolt in pain. It was so miserable.
Long story short the pain got so bad, I went to the doctors even though I didn’t have my insurance figured out yet. (PLANNED PARENTHOOD FOR THE WIN). I was almost sure they’d find nothing since I’ve had issues before and several times doctors never find anything. I was nearly in tears when she was examining down there because I was so terrified of the pain. Luckily she was very gentle. She swabbed me for stuff and I took STD tests. While she was gone and having the samples tested I was lying in the exam room feeling so hopeless and confident she would say they found nothing. To my surprise she walked in, and said “yup, there’s budding yeast” I was so shook because she only swabbed inside my vagina, where I didn’t even have symptoms. I nearly cried in relief lol. She gave me a prescription for fluconazole, and my symptoms completely cleared up and I felt relief and could have sex and masturbate again without pain. It took around 72 hours for them to completely clear up.. anyway.
I am making this post for anyone who may have suffered with the same issue I did and is just trying to figure it out on their own for months without medical help. PLEASE GO TO THE DOCTORS FIRST, Internet forums are incredibly helpful as a LAST resort but not as an initial step. Sometimes the internet unnecessarily complicated what is a very simple issue. That’s all!

I have advice for new plasma donors who may be considering to try it out and earn extra money:

• Plasma is 92% water and the rest is mostly protein elements.
• The plasma is separated from your blood and your red blood cells are returned to you in cycles.
• Per FDA regulations, you're only allowed to donate plasma twice in a 7 day period, with a 48 hour wait inbetween those two times. Don't risk your health by hopping around to different plasma donation centers to circumvent these regulations, and you may get caught if you do.

1. Eat a meal high in protein 2-3 hours before donating, but your plasma protein levels depend on what you ate the day before.
2. Drink plenty of water and/or non-caffeinated juice before donating to stay hydrated.
3. Avoid caffeine such as in coffee or soda before donating or you may get nauseous and vomit or faint during your donation.
4. No alcohol 24 hours before, and for a little while after donating.
5. No exercising for at least 6 hours after donating as it can put too much stress on the vein.
6. Some people get away with smoking or vaping nicotine before and after donating, but it's recommended not to for 2 hours before and after. The nicotine can raise your heart's pulse rate.
7. If your pulse rate is 100 or above, you'll be able to do a vitals retake after a 15 minute wait. But if it's 100 or higher again you'll be deferred for the day. If your pulse rate is an issue, listen to "Pink Noise" or "Green Noise" at a low volume before donating which may help reduce your pulse rate, along with its effect on lowering your blood pressure.
8. There is a risk of getting a blown vein if the worker is having a hard time finding your vein when they're sticking you with the needle or if you have small veins. You may get deferred until your vein heals if that happens. But it's ok, your body is able to regenerate your veins with a process called Angiogenesis.
9. There is a risk of blood clots, but when your blood is constantly moving through the machine it prevents that from happening.
10. You may be subject to drug screening. The drug screening tests for methamphetamines, cocaine, and heroin. Certain pharma prescription meds may show up as a false positive so you'll want to let the plasma center know what meds you're taking. Testing positive for these drugs can result in a permanent deferral from donating plasma.
11. A sample of your blood will be drawn periodically to test for certain sexually transmitted infections (STIs). A positive test will result in either a temporary or permanent deferral from donating plasma. If you've ever been diagnosed or received treatment for HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B (HBV) or Hepatitis C (HCV) you will be permanently deferred from donating plasma.

Donating Plasma with Managed Diabetes
Individuals with well-controlled diabetes can contribute to plasma donation, but certain criteria need to be met:
Absence of Complications: This means no existing diabetic complications affecting your kidneys, heart, blood vessels, or eyes.
Insulin Independence: If you rely on insulin for diabetes management, a three-month waiting period is required after using needles for non-prescribed medications. Additionally, you must be free of symptoms or treatment needs related to blood sugar fluctuations (high or low) for the past three months.

1. Healthy Feet: Active foot ulcers requiring medical attention will disqualify you from donation.
2. Steady Balance: You shouldn't experience dizziness or lightheadedness upon standing.
3. Type 1 Consideration: For Type 1 diabetics, eating within two hours of donation is mandatory.

• Wait a few hours before taking the bandage wrap off of your arm after donating.
• It's recommended to use Vitamin E oil/Mineral oil on the needle site for the puncture area to heal better. A Q-tip can be used to apply it easier. I simply dip the Q-Tip in the bottle, but never dip the used cotton back into the bottle.
• Frequently donating over a prolonged period of time may lead to your body having decreased vitamin D levels.
  
• Red meats are particularly high in the protein vitamins and minerals found in plasma.
  
• Personally, I take a Now brand Vitamin D supplement that contains vitamin D3, Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc. But I only take a half a dose, 1 gel capsule instead of 2, since I get these from eating meats and other foods as well. It's bad for your health if you take too much of these vitamins and minerals over time. I also take an Iron supplement. I also drink a protein shake before donating. Just to be safe.

I need help with a part of my stats for my dissertation.. I am accustomed to continuous variables and need help dealing with a dichotomous one.
I am looking at the effects of a treatment on immune response to a challenge. Samples are collected over time including -30, 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 (min) then 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 24 hours after administering the challenge. 60 animals, 3 trt (sample size within trt*sex are not equal). I observed the animals affect at each time point as either normal or abnormal. I know time had an effect just based on observations and I know they aren’t independent.
I think I need a mixed effect model (for time sampling) but how with a dichotomous variable? I use SAS but will take any help I can get in any form.

Hey everyone - I know that soooo many people have posted about fingerprints/background checks in this channel and the FB group, but I haven't seen much instruction on what dual citizens should be doing for their background checks since we do not need to get Visas. My questions are as follows if anyone knows the answers <3 :

1. EU Background Check - I saw on FB that dual citizens of EU need a background check from America and their country of EU citizenship. Anyone know if we really need to get an EU background check? NALCAP instructions don't say that anywhere.
   
2. US Background Check - Went in person to get fingerprints done and got a letter in the mail saying I passed the background check. Is that the last step? Do I need to do anything further?
   
3. Medical Cert - Do we just go to the doctor and ask them to sign a piece of paper with their letterhead assuring we are of good health? Lol that feels too simple but thats what I read on NALCAP instructions?

A confused and anxious first year applicant

For me, there are two- patchouli and rose. Deconstructing Eden's Black No. 1 ("Milk white skin, a haze of clove cigarette smoke, burning leaves and the blackest patchouli in my collection") and Death & Floral's Melodrama ("Black patchouli and cognac, blended with toasted oats") really made me think twice about not liking patchouli. For rose, Rose's RBF from Lucky #9 ("Fresh cut roses tart'ed up with grapefruit, blackberries, and raspberries with extra brambles") and Death & Floral's Miss Misery ("Boot-stomped roses and dirty outside ground") won me over. All but Black No. 1 were samples I got with orders, and they ended up pleasantly surprising me because I never thought I'd enjoy those two notes. I never would have picked them on my own because of the patchouli and rose notes, but I'm glad I ended up getting them.
What is a note (or notes) that you never thought you'd enjoy, but a perfume (or perfumes) changed your mind?

Hey,
I recently had a bike accident and broke my tibia. It was a grade I open tibia fracture. I have Anthem BlueCross/BlueShield insurance, and the hospital where I had my surgery is an in-network provider. A few days after my discharge, I received a letter from the insurance company stating that my inpatient stay post-surgery wasn’t deemed medically necessary.
I spoke with my provider about it, and they mentioned that this is a common issue with insurance companies and not to worry. The provider's office called and advised me to appeal the decision, explaining that I was on IV antibiotics due to the grade I open fracture to prevent infection at the wound site. I followed their advice and appealed, but I'm still concerned that the claim might be rejected.
The two-day inpatient stay cost around $90k, an amount I can't afford, even with a three-year installment plan without interest, as I am an international student. Can anyone advise on potential options if the insurance company rejects my appeal?

This is a case for a 78-year-old female. The issue arose when her hernia mesh deteriorated with time and caused an infection. So her surgery was put on hold because of her rising vitals and infection. And got admitted to a hospital. They found out she was dehydrated and had high blood pressure. Also, she already has thyroid ( hypothyroidism) and colon issues which she is on medication. Doctors believe that might be the main cause of the issue at hand now which is cirrhosis. At first, they found out that she had fluid in her stomach which she was diagnosed with ascites and then fatty liver. Now to cirrhosis in a matter of days. So what I am asking now is to understand the results and reports until her next appointment with a doctor. What kind of meals and lifestyle changes would she need to make now? I have written down the results someone can explain it, please?

Aj wasn't the cleanest person, ever since becoming in charge of the Apollo cabin she didn't quite care what her siblings did with their area of the cabin. So when it eventually became that the cabin was filled with random stuff, most of which didn't belong in cabin 7 Aj knew she had to do something about it.
She had told all her siblings to find anything they didn't want in their areas and give them to her. So after the entire cabin spent most of their Saturday cleaning, Aj took all the things outside onto the cabin's porch, for the cabin's very own yard sale. She displayed most things on the floor, a few smaller or fragile objects were on a nearby table. She had told a few other counselors about her plans, but beside that she assumed everyone could notice the collection of junk outside the cabin
There were plenty of books, some written in English, others in Ancient Greek. A few duplicate CD’s and records which would probably be taken back inside by her siblings. A collection of medical tools all of which Aj made sure was cleaned before put outside. A few other random objects lay about the porch, it seemed whoever came to the yard sale would walk away with something interesting.
Aj took out a pitcher of lemonade and a few teacups she had found and set it out for anyone who stopped by. She put up a poorly made sigh that read “EVERYTHING IS FREE,” Despite calling it a yard sale, Aj didn't expect anything in return.
