Hi everyone first time Alaska cruiser and first time on NCL. We will be on the bliss in early October Seattle/Alaska cruise. We have the free at sea package and Have a few questions:

1. Unlimited drink package: we both drink so debating if it’s worth it to upgrade to the premium drink package (I like champagne, sparkling wine and mimosas but outside of that and the Starbucks that would be included not sure it’s worth it)
   
2. About the drinks how does that work for taxes at each port?
   
3. Interior state rooms: Will the TVs be smart TVs? Should I bring a Roku or fire stick? Do I need to pre download shows, etc for offline viewing
   
4. Glacier bay viewing: where is the best place to be for hanging out all day for viewing. (Husband and I are early 40’s and my parents are coming late 60’s/early 70’s with mobility issues). Looking to get comfortable stay warm enough and still get nice views if at all possible.
   
5. Excursions: any that anyone recommends booking on own? Or should we just book all through the cruise only? Any recs? We want to do anything glaciehiking/kayaking etc.

if you are involved in the shifting community, you may have seen the mention of some sort of 'lifa app' with no explanation as to what it is. sometimes, in scripts, it will say stuff such as...
'when i shift to this reality, i will have a lifa app to check in on my cr self and it cannot be deleted or destroyed.'
but what is the app that everyone is talking about? is it an actual app or sort of app in another reality that everyone just knows of?
in this post, i will be explaining the lifa app as a full guide of how to use it. its features, and what it is.

༊·˚🌿 what is the lifa app? ༊·˚🌿

the lifa app is a reality shifting based app that lets you keep track of your dr or multiple drs in literally every way imaginable. from the time it is to your memories. it even gives you diary entries for yourself. it is meant to be used as a tool to help shifters keep track of all of their information about them and their dr. it also allows a gateway to meet other shifters like yourself and shift with them to the same reality.

the lifa app has many features. the main ones you can see first are dr details, visualizations, group shifting, sharing.
let's go over each feature one by one.

: ̗̀➛ dr details

the first thing that you will get when you are greeted by this an i icon that says about this dr. when you click on it, you are able to type the location and a background story about your desired reality.
: ̗̀➛ time
this feature allows you to add a time and date to your dr. time will pass the same as it does here. for example in my dr, it is currently november 19, 2130 and is 1:47 pm. i chose to freeze time in this dr and submitted it.
: ̗̀➛ theme
this holds the name of what your dr is called, the icon it has, and the background of it when you click on the app. you can also choose the font color and a background tint as well. it also holds your name in your dr.
: ̗̀➛ timeline
you are able to establish a timeline of your desired reality before the point that you shift. i recommend keeping it brief to the important stuff. main instances of childhood and things that you remember with the same importance as you do now.
: ̗̀➛ notion script
this feature is if you have a script on the website notion script. it is a website in which you can gather and fill in shifting templates and is a great way to organize yourself. this is not necessary though. there are other features you can use for your script on here.
: ̗̀➛ about me
this is just a section where you write all about yourself. your name, your age, nicknames, safe word, height, hometown, ethnicity, race, nationality, sexuality, pronouns, gender, language(s), positive traits, negative traits, habit, likes, dislikes, hobbies, and skills.
: ̗̀➛ relationships
when you enter this tab, it will take you to a screen that has a place where you can add family members, friends, pets, significant other(s) or 'other'. the other tab has you in it.
when you decide to add let's say a friend, you start off by adding their name. then there age, closeness, and appearance. you can follow that up by adding a photo of said friend. you can type in relationship dynamic, how you met, and extra info. the format is the exact same no matter the type of relationship aside from pets.
the pet section is a little bit different. you add their name, age, species, pet bed, size, and about them.
there is also a recorder option where you can move around the placements of these characters.
: ̗̀➛ scenarios
this includes upcoming scenarios that you had planned, past scenarios that you did while in your reality, desired upcoming scenarios that include no date but you want to do or have plans to do. finally, you have memories which has no date. these are things that you will automatically remember when in your dr.
it's just a brief section where you can type in a title and add as much as you want of details of that memory. you can add a photo and select if it has a date or if it is a past memory or not.

this just has the date of your dr. you can also create events on specific dates. that's pretty much it, this section is short.
: ̗̀➛ diary
you can write diary entires. talk about your day, memories, anything that may make you feel closer to your dr. this section is also short.
: ̗̀➛ playlist
so is this one. you make a playlist. and link the playlist, whenever you open the playlist, you get a new tab that takes you to that playlist to listen. i use it to keep my shifting subliminal playlist, but you don't have to.
: ̗̀➛ hero/villain
this is a tab within a tab so i'm bolding it. the first tab is customize, but that feature is locked behind a paywall with a monthly subscription of $3.99. i will talk about the subscription later.
then you have powers. you type the name of it and what your powers do. you have weapons which have the same explanation as powers. missions means you can make your own missions.
then there is combat skills. you list your strength, speed, agility, intelligence, compatibility, stamina, and flexibility out of five. then you can add your backstory. it's a blank sheet where you can type it out.
next is costumes where you describe what your costume looks like.
ally team includes your team name, how well you work together, specific events and upcoming battles, and other details. you can also add relationships from your relationship section and names of that.
enemy team is relatively the same. a team name, specific events or battles, other details, and can once again, select relationship with each member.
finally, there is timeline which has a title and description. you can also add scenarios if needed.
thankfully, that is thee last feature about dr details and we can now move on to visualizations.

: ̗̀➛ visualizations ‧₊˚🖇️✩

this tab focuses all on the visual aspects of your desired reality. even if you can't visualize, you can still use these to get a good idea on what things will look like.
: ̗̀➛ appearence
you can add a hair claim, face claim, body claim, hand claim, voice claim, and specific features claim. personally, i think that the last one could be explained easily in body or face claim.
either way, when you press one of these tabs, you can type in a detailed description on what you look like. now, i didn't notice at first but all the way at the bottom will be a small section that says add photo to which you can go into your gallery and choose a photo for yourself on that specific claim.
: ̗̀➛ wardrobe
this section will include an area that says wardrobe. you press the giant + sign on the top right hand corner and it takes you to a section that says create wardrobe. all you gotta do is add a title and a description. once you do that, you click on the tab again and then add a photo of a specific outfit of yours. you can add multiple photos, move them around using the recorder option right next to photos.

you can make multiple photo galleries , customize albums of different things relating to your dr.
: ̗̀➛ pinterest boards
here you can add the link to your pinterest board...and a title. that's about it.

this does not connect to any funds in this reality. it's supposed to keep track of money in your dr. i find this feature a bit dumb tbh and seems to waste more time preparing to shift than actually shifting.

again, this is the same as wardrobe but more customized. you can add each individual clothing item separately if you wanna do that.
: ̗̀➛ belongings
you add photos and a title of what you own and its sentiment. yeah.
: ̗̀➛ or self
it has a stick figure of you. you list your family, what they're doing, their location, and your action, mood, and location.
: ̗̀➛ music group dr
without paying, you can only add one music group and one album. there is a members tab but you need a monthly subscription in order to access it.
i use this feature in one dr to describe my favorite band to listen to and an album i like. if you wanna add more than one album, then you also need to pay,
: ̗̀➛ school app
this is a doozy and has multiple tabs so this will be rapid fire.
you have your student i.d. report card, schedule.
schedule contains period, subject, and teacher. your school in your dr. you can add a photo, location, mascot, colors, class song, traditions, and history of your school.
you can also add your school uniform if you have one. this includes daily uniform and gym uniform. you can add a school map and a yearbook (????????)
again, these are fine i think but the yearbook seems unnecessary, just script who is in your class with you.
also there's a teacher mode but you can only access that with payment.

you can make a chatroom. and roleplay as every single member in that chatroom...for some reason. i don't need to repeat myself here, you already know what i'm going to say.
: ̗̀➛ chat ai
this is locked behind a paywall. just use character ai, it's free and you don't have a limit of 200 messages per day.
: ̗̀➛ family tree
for some reason you can't add siblings. the only way to add siblings kinda is to make them have the same parents as you on a new family tree.
this is just so not necessary. just write down your siblings in your script. no need for your entire extended bloodline. the universe will figure that out.
: ̗̀➛ places
you add places in your dr.
: ̗̀➛ fame phone
you can make a knock off insta account, twitter account, a wikipedia, and a youtube. again, not needed. just shift. also the settings and notifications features are locked behind a paywall.

: ̗̀➛ group shifting

you need to convert your account into an online account. but you can connect with other people and plan to shift together as a group. for those that don't know, group shifting is where you and one or more people collectively decide to shift to the same dr as different people and basically share an experience in that dr.

: ̗̀➛ sharing

the exact same thing as above. except this time you can just share your dr. you need an account to access this feature. it can give others ideas on scripts, drs, or anything else of the sort. it can be a great way to connect with others.

i think some of its features are helpful! however, other parts of it can be very distracting from shifting. i almost felt like this was an oc maker rather than shifting app. some of these i think didn't need so many features. the amount of features there are is crazy. the features section alone i needed to divide into several sections because it took so much longer to get through than i initially thought. it took about two hours to review each of them and i had to take breaks in between. to a new shifter especially, this would be so overwhelming.
you don't need face claims, body claims, or special features claims. as long as you have a general idea of what you and your desired reality is like then you're fine. this is just gonna over complicate shifting and make it seem more fictional in a way. if anything, this makes you less connected to your desired reality since your focusing so much on this one.
it wouldn't be a waste to download it but i wouldn't recommend buying it. but if you do, then more power to you.

STAR CITIZEN & SQUADRON 42 EXPLAINED
There are two components to Cloud Imperium Games' (CIG) project. Star Citizen is the MMO component, a first-person experience in a simulated 30th-century universe. Squadron 42 is the single-player component, a story-driven campaign where you enlist as a UEE Navy combat pilot. Our current understanding is you will be given the option of having your Squadron 42 character, who musters out of the Navy at the conclusion of the campaign, carry over into the Star Citizen persistent universe, taking with them the reputation and relationships they've built with NPC entities.

UNDERSTANDING THE PLEDGE STORE
There are a couple of points I want to make about recognizing what comes with a package. First, game packages may include only Star Citizen, only Squadron 42, or both games. I've damn near lost my mind trying to get this build to work hassle free. I built this exact same spec for myself a few months ago no issues at all. I decided to build a pc for my mum and dad as they've been using a decade old laptop that takes roughly half an hour to boot into windows.
For three days now i can't get rid of an error where the pc becomes unresponsive after a few minitues or seconds when doing anything. The screen will then flash black, then returns with the following message. "AMD Driver Timeout". I also noticed when i tried a clean reinstall of windows the same issue would occur without the AMD message before i downloaded any AMD drivers. I don't know if this helps, but it also takes quite a bit longer than my identical build to boot up.
I've seemingly tried every possible solution i can think of and those i've found online:

• Downloaded new and previous AMD drivers
• Updated BIOS to latest version and earlier version that identical system runs on
• Fresh installs of Windows 11, fully updated Windows
• Lowered the frequency of the RAM, tried one stick of RAM
• Performed windows RAM checker
• Downloaded DDU to fully wipe drivers at all levels
• Tried both display port and HDMI
• Performed multiple scans on Command prompts
• Lowered hz from 165 to 60 and lowered resolution from 1440p to 1080p
• Altered all settings on the bios in regard to running the display through the Integrated graphics.
• Ran a scan on the main drive

I'm completely out of ideas, even a pc place i phoned said they would struggle if i've done all this and found nothing. Anyone with any ideas or has had the same issue, please help, i'm going round in circles here.

I (48F) don’t even know where to begin so let’s start from the end. My daughter, D, (18F, I’ll use an initial for my daughter’s name) graduated high school Tuesday night. I organized a graduation dinner at a nice restaurant Wednesday night on me as part of her graduation present. I picked mom up for the graduation ceremony Tuesday night and mom starts to take digs at me. She has been taking digs at me for a week now ever since my daughter and her reconciled. I have backstory about that further down. I let those digs go since they were in the middle of the ceremony and my ex husband was seated next to us in the arena.
Fast forward to the next day, Wednesday, I am hustling all day to get ready for the graduation dinner. I got flowers from the grocery store and arranged two different bouquets into one. I went to Party City to pick up balloons that I ordered online. I had contacted a local home baker for my daughter’s allergy free graduation cake so I also picked up her cake. These were all things that I had intended to bring to the restaurant as a surprise. After checking with the restaurant about bringing the cake, it turns out the restaurant has an allergy safe dessert so I can’t bring it. I pivot and I let my daughter know that I have a surprise graduation cake for her and that I would like to drop it by her dad’s house. It had a whipped frosting so it required refrigeration as soon as possible. I pick up the cake at the 2:30pm. Ask my daughter if she is home and can I bring it by. She says yes and that her dad isn’t home but maybe we could have a slice together. I said that I don’t have a lot of time (I needed to pick up mom for dinner at 4:45pm plus squeeze in a little work and get ready for dinner) but worst case I can take a slice to go for me and mom. We ended up having a slice with her dad because he came back home right away. I go home. Get dressed for dinner, work on a few work emails, and run to pick up mom.
When I get there, she doesn’t say hello but asks me where her cake is. I groan because I forgot it in the fridge but I can tell that something is off. She then asks me hostilely why I didn’t invite her to my ex’s house for cake. I tell her that it was spontaneous and there was a lot going on in preparation for the graduation dinner. It didn’t occur to me in that moment that my daughter should have been the one to ask her over since it’s not my house. Nor did it occur to me in that moment, that my mom and D must’ve talked about this cake thing.
So I am driving to dinner and my mom is not letting this go. She starts to lay into me about excluding her and I calmly ask her to stop. She continues and starts raising her voice. I tell her there wasn’t anything intentionally done and it was spontaneous! She is yelling on the top of her lungs at this point so I yell back that I have not done anything wrong here and that she needs to cut it out. At this point she starts saying that she needs to get out of the car. I tell her to keep it together for my daughter’s sake. I stop at a stop light and she jumps out after thrusting the glass vase with the flowers at me that she was holding. I start crying and call my daughter immediately. She empathizes, asks what happened, I tell her that I don’t want to ruin her night but she insisted so I pour my heart out and cry most of the way there because our ETA was similar. Note that she is in the car with her dad and best friend and in hindsight I think that I might’ve been on speaker. I arrive at the restaurant with the flowers and balloons and we are having a nice time. Halfway through eating our entrees, my mom shows up. I didn’t tell her where the reservation was. My mom likes to be taken to things and doesn’t care to know in advance where we are going so this is normal for us. I was shocked. My mom looks around the booth and my ex makes room for her. I didn’t move in my shock but I don’t think that I would have made room for her regardless. While she is talking to my ex (whom she has hated for years based on how he treated my dad as my dad was dying), my daughter leans over and asks me if this was okay and I tell her that I didn’t tell mom where we were going. D says that she didn’t either.
Mom doesn’t look at the menu but is prepared and orders her entree. Keep in mind, she has not been to this restaurant before. I ignore her and do not make eye contact from across the table. I have never seen her eat that fast. I lost my appetite the minute she arrived. After she finishes, she leaves the booth to visit to the restroom. At that point, I tell my daughter that to be clear I was not okay with this. My daughter says why and I respond because of how she treated me and she says how did she treat you and I looked at her shocked and said I told you just after it happened. She says oh and then says well I am glad she came. So at this point, I am shocked again. This seems intentional and not coincidental. I had thought maybe it was coincidental because I had talked about what entree I was thinking about ordering. We finish up and I pay for dinner. We leave together. I haven’t spoken to either since.
I would talk to my mom everyday and text my daughter everyday. I initiate those points of contact. I haven’t spoken to either of them since Wednesday. Neither has reached out to me. Am I off track here? What on earth is this? It feels like manipulation and backstabbing. It feels like my daughter went behind my back and triggered my mom against me. I’m trying to understand but I am too close to this to see it clearly. Please help me understand if I messed up or what I should do. I frankly don’t want to speak to either of them for awhile which works out since I am going out of the country for 20 days in less than a week.
Some background; D has been living her last year of high school with my ex husband (53M) because her high school, college (she was talking a college class in the mornings and high school in the afternoons), and work in the evenings were all closer from his house than mine as I live 30 mins away from those areas. She also favors him as he acts as a roommate versus a dad towards her.
She reconciled with my mom (74F) last week after they stopped speaking for 2.5 years. My mom was not understanding of my daughter’s medical diagnosis then and was mean/hurtful about it so my daughter stopped talking to her. I would consistently suggest reconciliation to both of them whenever they would ask about each other because it’s just the three of us. My dad passed 12 years ago. My family on my mom’s side has passed and the remaining family (my mom’s sister and her two daughters that I grew up with) are toxic so we don’t speak to them. They are toxic in the sense that when my grandma died they drafted a fake Will and filed it with the courts cutting mom out.
Ever since D and mom reconciled, my mom has been taking digs at me. Mom has always done this whenever something bothers her. She has been saying things like at least D talks to your face. I am old school and respectful to my elders. My daughter, on the other hand, is influenced by her dad and speaks disrespectfully to whomever she disagrees with. I have been setting boundaries and sticking up for myself with my mom recently.
I’m am trying to figure out what is happening here. I don’t think that I am off track feeling hurt and betrayed. I also don’t think it would make a difference to talk to them until I get back. Am I missing something? Please help me objectively understand.

Hello, I'm a casual fighting game fan and a midcore player, I've been playing fighting games for over 20 years now and I think that there is a rich culture around fighting games that is not being tapped into by, well anyone. In this brief, I will seek to display how I believe fighting games can gain mainstream appeal and why this should be important to every fighting game fan.
I'll start by convincing you why you should care if fighting games are mainstream or not.

• Developers can and will abandon this genre if it is not lucrative or feasible for them to create these games. Fighting games are often passion projects that are driven by small teams within larger teams, and the games themselves are difficult to create, even when the games are relatively simple in style and mechanics. When games cease to be profitable at all, these developers will indeed tone down development on these games leaving us with fewer options aside from preexisting games, which is fine and all, but eventually that server, discord channel, etc may die as well, leaving us with no options for our favorite series but to wait for a sequel or a spiritual successor. Many of you know exactly what I mean already, how many are waiting for another entry in their favorite fighting game series?
• Less players means less advancement for the genre. This may be divisive, as some probably think that fighting games have more or less peaked mechanically, and can only improve graphically, while mechanics will be more a mix and match of preexisting ideas. This is a self-limiting idea that is created by the belief that fighting games can only be a very specific format, and that every game outside of those formats aren't really fighting games, and while I'm not here to convince you that "X game is really a fighting game," I will say that this sentiment is typical of people that are in the FGC, but not of people outside of it, which is a conundrum in itself.

I'll pause on this note to mention viewership briefly.
As I started writing this, Tekken is streaming Paradise Game Battle with just under 7k viewers, and as I've gotten to this point, it has risen about 300 viewers to just above 7k at 7,053. By the time I finished this sentence it fell back to 6,843.
Why do I mention this? At the time I started writing this post, Brawlhalla had just started a stream and they were at a similar number of viewers to Tekken at 6,500ish, right now they sit at 8,717 and the number is only rising.
To this I ask, why? Why is Brawlhalla, a game that's "not even a fighting game" according to the FGC, having a larger tournament, with more players, more viewers, where people are indeed fighting each other 1v1 in this game doing better than Tekken, the "real fighting game?"
There's a few possible reasons that people like to throw at these sorts of incidents such as Brawlhalla being free or Tekken being the "harder game," but I think these ideas evade the core of why this happens, and it's that games like Brawlhalla prioritize the mind game. The game is accessible in a way that allows people to simply play without a high barrier of entry.
In this next section I'll break down accessibility and how it can work in a way that's not invasive to players that enjoy execution, I'll put it in bullet form.

• I see fighting games in a similar lens to how I see chess, you have two sets of moves with base functionalities that cover a range of properties that would allow you to convert strategic movements into a win condition based on damage and trapping the opponent, it's just that there's no checkmate in fighting games, at checkmate your opponent just gets killed. Chess does not have execution barriers, anyone from an old lady to a spring chicken little girl can play chess, all they have to know is how the pieces move, once they have the knowledge, the execution is USING THE KNOWLEDGE.
• In fighting games this is countered by hand-eye coordination. If you lack coordination to do combos, you will eventually just lose out some match ups in some games unfortunately. If you cannot convert in opportune moments, you will lose. If you misinput, fingers slip, whatever, you will die most likely. Your knowledge, doesn't matter, all that matters in this case is your muscle memory, you need a great combination of both to be an excellent player.
• Accessibility currently aims to make doing moves easier, but it doesn't lower the mental stack to get to knowledge execution, comparing a game like Tekken to a game like Brawlhalla, there's several layers of abstraction just moving around and getting your character to do what you want before you can apply knowledge, vs Brawlhalla, as soon as you can move left and right and jump, you're halfway to understanding character movement in the entirety and can now just think about other parts of the game.

I say this to say that game developers are making the wrong parts of the games accessible, traditional fighting games should be aiming to get players closer to a neutral state where it's knowledge vs knowledge rather than hand eye coordination + knowledge vs the same.
Modern is a great example of this because it gets people right into the thick of battle, they no longer have to think about how to hold their thumb, or why it hurts, or how far to press on the d pad, or how hard to press, or how to slide their fingers, or whether to use the analog stick or not, they just press Square and shoot the fireball. Smash Bros did this in 1999, bringing people straight into the knowledge neutral game. But this is just one example.
I'm not a master dev or designer, but I think these sorts of problems are what needs to be solved to move fighting games forward, and the neat thing is when they are brought down to this 1st level of knowledge neutral, then we can add more depth in better ways, what if we had a fighting game like SF6, with only modern controls, with stage interactions like Injustice and ground breaks like Tekken? Now that's an interesting game with a fun feel that a lot of people would probably enjoy, it can still have combos, but they are immediately more accessible if we take away, and I want to make this clear, not execution barriers, but knowledge barriers. It should still be difficult to do long, effective combos, maybe even harder than it currently is in most games, but we should advocate for our games being tapered to a point where more people can play or formatted so that more people like them, and WE SHOULD STILL PLAY THEM. We need to make other games part of our community and show them that we like the games and care and that we want depth AND the game's unique identity to thrive.
TL;DR Modern good, Arena Fighters should be embraced and encouraged to become more complex, Knowledge Barriers should be removed from games so people can play on more equal footing

How to Build Your Sales Funnel?

Building high-converting sales funnel has three main component.

1. Know Your Ideal Customer Profile

As I previously explained in the How to Grow Your Shopify Store guide, everyone can’t be your customers.
You need to find your niche that response your brands, products and value propositions better than anyone else. This is called ideal customer profile (ICP).
Ideal Customer Profile
If you have at least 200-300 customers, the best way to create your ICP is directly talking with your customers. Just check your best customers (who are spending most or buying repeatedly from you) and get in touch directly with them. Ask open ended questions to get idea of what makes them your best customers.
If you’re just starting on your Shopify journey, then my recommendation is using Google Bard. Here are my prompts.

• “I have an online e-commerce business that selling … (give information about your products)”
• “My brand focus on …. (give information about your brand identity)”
• “Advantages of my products ….., Disadvantages of my products ….., Benefits of my products ….”
• “You’re a senior consultant with 20+ years of experience. You’re a master at creating the most unique and unusual growth strategies. You’ve helped the fastest-growing companies in the world skyrocket their growth and customer acquisition. Your tone of voice should be actionable, no-fluff, approachable, casual, and storyteller.”
• “Can you create detailed ideal customer profile for me?”

Empathy Map

Our main goal with sales funnels is convincing people to say “I want to buy this product, right now“. To reach that point we need to understand our customers. What are their desires? What makes them stop and think? What triggers them to act right away?
This is where empathy map joins the game.

Here are nine questions we need to answer about our ICP;

• What they see
• What they say
• What they think
• What they do
• What they feel
• Pain points
• Gains
• Concerns
• Desires

There is no 100% correct answer for all of these questions. Main idea is getting a general understanding of our customers. Best practice for this process is getting started with the help of AI and continue with a quick brainstorming session.

2. High Quality Content

As Bill Gates pointed Content is king and it will be always!
Video, blog, visuals, podcasts, photos, emails, ad copy, infographics… Format doesn’t matter, we always consume content. Today everyone can create content but it’s quite rare to find helpful, high-quality content. When people find a content that really has a point of view, teach something or really enjoying they just get stick with it.
You need to create contents for each step of your sales funnel. Now let’s take a look at each step and content you should be using.

Attention Content

Did you heard lead magnet term before? It’s used for B2B sales funnel. When building your shopify sales funnel, you need to build your own customer magnet contents. In this stage of the funnel, we need to earn the attention of target audience.
Let’s say we have a Shopify stores that selling high-end, organic clothes for new borns. Our ICP will be new parents who care about chemical-free clothes and sensitive about environment and also afford high-end products. Store, products, brand looks perfect. Let’s design the first step of our sales funnel. We have two options.

1. Following Common Advices: We can start with great visuals for advertisement, giving huge discounts and try to work with influencers. Our message will be like “our products cheaper, better, etc. then others”
2. Focusing on Customers World: We can focus on our ICP and work on something different like “7 things you need to know before buying a clothes for your little ones”, “What scientific researches shows about the chemicals on baby clothes” etc.

We need to get attention, right? Giving 50% off, Influencer campaign or direct, real content marketing point to real customer concerns. If you don’t want to waste your money with never ever go with the first common expert advice.
Focus on your ICP, discover their pain points and concerns and offer them a content that educate them.
In our baby clothes example, instead of “my products are best for your baby health”, I prefer to first explain clothes affects on babies and common threads on the market.
Checklist for attention content

• Is it address the ICP pain points or concerns?
• Is it something interesting?
• Is it educative?
• Does it have a point?

When you create your content that passes all items in this checklist, you can now working on your content format.
It can be webinar, free ebook download page, long form blog content, YouTube video, email course… My approach is first creating the core content and creating multiple formats using the same core content.

Interest Content

Think your sales funnel like a movie. There are a huge story contains some certain sections. If it is well designed, there should be flow between these chapters. You shouldn’t be able to identify moving from one section to other section.
Previous stage of the funnel we get the interest of our potential customers with offering a solution to their pain points, concerns in an educative and interesting content. In other words we sell the problem. But it’s not enough, we also need to sell the solution, too.
So in this stage you can start mentioning about your brand and products.
If we need to continue our previous example, let’s say we created some contents like “7 things you need to know before buying clothes for your baby”. We get their attention and educate them about the high quality, organic clothes and its’ effect on the babies health.
Now in this stage we need to start talking about our brand and products. So our concept can be something like “how we designed 100% baby friendly clothes”. You need to show how your products better than competitors and give the answer of “why should I buy this product from this brand”.

Decision Content

This is the last step before completing the funnel. This is highly related with your business strategy.
Now our leads aware of the problem and the solution we have.
However they can have other concerns like shipping costs, duration, return guarantees, etc.
My favourite content for this stage is offering real customer reviews, showing before and afters and mentioning about guarantees.
It can change based on the business model but for an average Shopify store it’s quite important to have a fast shipping process and offering free return and refund guarantee.
I highly recommend to create separated pages for shipping, return and refund policy pages along with detailed about us page. There are some text you need to use for legal reasons. However you need to explain these issues simple and plain at the top.
Also after getting some traction and sales, you can work with some in-depended influencer kind of people. They can review your products, mentioning about pros and cons.
All of the offer (discount, free shipping, etc.) should be made in this stage of the visitors.

Action Content

Based on AIDA framework, action is the step finally we convert total strangers to our customers. You might think now it’s okay but nope, it’s not okay.
After checkout is a huge step for Shopify stores. There are a few actions you can take and fuel your sales funnel.

1. Asking referrals: It’s highly likely that your new customer has at least a few friends around that can be your customers too. Why do you just ask them to share your brand with their friends? Checkout Discover The Hidden Growth Channel: Referrals.
2. Surveys: After checkout surveys are great way to learn about your customers. My favourite question is “what makes you think most before completing your order?”
3. How to Use It Content: This can be change based on your products but if there is a chance you can educate your customers about your products, don’t miss this. Give them resources to make most of your products.
4. Check If They’re Happy: This should be triggered after customers get the products. Start email automation after customer gets the product and check if they’re happy with it. If they’re happy don’t forget to ask them for a review.

3. High Quality Experience

So far we mentioned about the AIDA sales funnel framework and how to build sales funnel content for your Shopify store.
Focusing on content with ICP and empathy map is a great start for higher conversions but it’s the start.
User experience during this process can be boost or destroy your sales just like content quality.
Formula is very simple: High Quality Content + High Quality Experience = Higher Conversions and Sales
This is also highly related with your branding, too. Invest enough time and resources to create high quality experience.
Like if you’re using ebook with a landing page, it should be clean, fast and looking great on mobile devices. Ebook should be looks like an high-quality ebook. Emails should be well-designed.

eFootball gameplay seem to be going in a bad direction for the past months. To much AI defending/assistance/game balancing, game adding input lag, interceptions, poor passing, fouls not called for, hot potato football not rewarding any type of skillful play. The gameplay feels like its on rails, freedom is gone, players don't respond to your inputs and chances are created by either teams AI players mistakes or incredibly stupid runs. It's just not fun to play anymore. Neither online or vs AI.
eFootball could be fantastic if Konami would listen to ideas, criticism and improve. Here is my wishlist. Feedback based on me and the kids playing on PS4, PS5 and mobile. Offline and online.

1. Reduce the heavy AI assistance / game-balancing / handholding / Auto defending / Dynamic Difficulty / momentum / whatchamacallit (scr...). I understand its for getting new players staying in the game, having a chance getting coins in the events and winning games. And perhaps make games more non-predictable "anything can happen, maybe". With the current AI handholding level its "anything will happen, constantly". So many chances are created by either teams AI players making mistakes or just making incredibly stupid runs, its like a badly scripted B-movie. The amount of goalpost hits and missed open goals is just silly currently, this goes on until the last few minutes of each match. Please reduce it, or even remove it from Co-op and other game modes where skill should be rewarded. I'd rather get smashed 15-0 and learn from a good player. Than having to play another game with: added input lag and your players turn, react with 0,5 sec delay / 1 team loses every header / 4 shots in goalpost / own goals / missed open goals from 2-3m consequently, instead you have to run the ball into goal!!! / hide n seek players with pass receiver running away from the ball positioning behind defender / every ball intercepted / misdirected passes / every pass straight to other team / passes goes through "invisible" player / player freezing or even running wrong direction vs your stick / opponent attacking with high punt or lofted pass but your defender running past the ball towards opposition goal / ball glued to opposite player in the box / every attempt clearing the ball goes short distance straight to other team, even goalie high punt / all stunning shots 3m over the goal before 85min + all the other crap that's in there. This gameplay on rails is so unrewarding. If I manage to do something skillfull the AI assistance just kills the opportunity with any means. When the AI assistance takes a break, I get an easy goal with no effort from a random through pass + tap in. Many times I can't tell if I am playing well or the game has decided I should win/lose, it kills the joy for me and it's just boring. If Konami could tone down all the weird punishments I'd be very grateful.
2. Passing and interceptions. Currently worst ever IMO. Game just decides your pass from a player in balance is 90-180 degrees of straight to opponent. Even on Beginner AI and no matter PA1, 2 or 3😂 And the constant interceptions. No flow in the game. Please work on this Konami.
3. Remove the artificial input-lag. (This is a controversial one, some players simply don't believe our experience it. For me it's obvious as it can be tested offline in several ways on PS5, on mobile I havent tried to confirm it) Stop punishing one side with artificial input lag which make the gameplay feel heavy, unresponsive and your players turn & react with 0,5 sec delay. This is not from server lag as it's there in AI matches and local Trial matches as well, just switch controller between team 1 & 2 and feel the difference. It might activate from beginning of game, or in 2nd half, usually when you are doing well. And vice versa it can dissapear in 2nd half. From my experience it can be reduced or removed by switching playstyle. When finding the right playstyle for that specific match, your players suddenly become responsive again, it can even happen after switching to lowest Manager profiency. I assume its part of the game balancing mechanics. For me this is one of the worst things in the current game, when it kicks in your players don't respond to inputs in time and gameplay just feels awful.
4. Fix the player freezing. Example: after losing a header to last defender suddenly your attacker just freezes. What's going on here? Have Konami added to much AI handholding and broken the game? 😂😂😂
5. Reward different playstyles like build up play. Currently most games seem to be high press, interception ping-pong, quick pass and no dribbles. Hot potato football. Holding the ball has become very difficult. Before the AI assistance and auto defending went berzerk, you could actually keep the ball for a second and do something creative. Without 3-5 guys surrounding your player with no options. Now the gameplay is boring with the lack of variety.
6. Create a game mode free from AI assistance & artificial input lag. Just pure skill. It could be beta, division free or whatever just let us play without the heavy AI handholding. And maybe eFootball will be esports ready 😉. To be honest if another football game is released without momentum/game-balancing /added input-lag and with gameplay based on pure skill. I think eFootball will lose a lot of players.
7. Add Dream team into Trial match. As Trial match is the only game mode which supports 2-4 local players on same console, same screen. We have 2 kids who love the card collecting and building their team. But playing online is of no interest to them, and won't be in many years. They want to play local PvP or co-op but with their own Dream team on the same screen from one Playstation. By now we are very tired of playing the same local play Trial match Argentina Vs PSG. The kids have almost stopped playing eFootball, since they cant play against each other with their own team. In addition this would be a great way to test out new players, builds and game mechanics together with a friend. Much more fun than training mode. This mode is what my family is missing most from this game. And if it would be a "pure" mode without any momentum/game-balancing things would be fantastic. Just pure skill, best player wins.
8. Please add Dream team to Trial match local co-op Vs AI. Would be so much fun to test your Dream Team against the AI together with the kids or a friend on the couch beside you seeing the same screen. Would love this mode if it would become available.
9. Add local co-op in Events. Would be great if me and the kids could take on the events together. At least add it to the AI events. Then we would actually play them and not just sim them.
10. Myleague local co-op. Add both local and online co-op into Myleague please. A reason to play it and win the league together with the kids 😀
11. Make My League worth playing. 100.000GP for completing 38 matches and winning the league is very poor IMO. Add some skill trainers and raise the GP perhaps?
12. Add all Goal Scorers, Assists and Passes made to Half Time and Full Time game stats. So we can quickly get the overview of which player cards performed well in both teams. That information would be highly appreciated.
13. Contract renewal is way too expensive. Considering many players have paid plenty in real money to get the favourite players, and you only get to keep your player for 1 year. We are paying for this digital football Pokémon and we can't even use it as long as we would like. There should be more ways to get contract renewals, the periods should be longer, 3/6/9/12months and the price should be lower. Currently it's just irritating and another killing the fun factor.
14. Make each playstyle worth using. And reward playing different type of formations. Instead of everyone using META 4 defenders and no wingers/LMF/RMF.
15. Better & more expensive Point shop players. Can we please have some decent players? I'd gladly spend 50000-100000 pink points for a player if his stats are good. IMO there hasn't been an interesting player since Ferrer & Pires. Currently I don't see any use for points except contact renewal.
16. Remove the GP cost for player reset. Having to wait for 2-3 months and then stressing for a few free weeks to retrain and test new builds doesn't make sense. GP is too valuable for me, I use it for Legacy Transfer and Contract renewal, and the few occasional GP buys for Events or hidden gems. I enjoy training players and trying out new builds, if free it would keep me logging in even when there is nothing else to do in the game.
17. Reduce the cost for Legacy transfer. Getting your wanted skills and then transferring to your favourite player is one of the game aspects I really like. But 257,000 GP for one transfer is a lot and takes away much of the fun in Legacy transfer. You get 1 Mbappe for less than 2 Legacy transfer. I am always low on GP these days, and I think 100,000-150,000 GP would be reasonable for Legacy transfer for 1 skill.
18. Legacy transfer of skills to POTW cards. If we could add 1-2 skills to the POTW the cards would be more interesting and I'd spend more coins spinning. We would get more varied and unpredictable squads instead of everybody using the same players. Most players know the good cards, what to expect from opponents cards and how to counter. Lets say you add some strong passing or shooting skills to a player usually weak in that aspect. The unpredicability would be awesome!
19. Replace/delete added skills. Building players would be much more fun if I could replace a trained skill with another one using legacy transfer. Or just be able to delete an added skill. Perhaps my playstyle changes and I want Neymar to have Through passing instead of the previously added Long-range shooting.
20. GP an option for pack spins. But it shouldn't be easy. Hard grind should be rewarded as it gives a reason to play the game. I am thinking 7,5M GP you get 75 spins in a 150 pack. That takes perhaps 6 months to grind. And perhaps the remaining 75 spins is coins only. Lower thresholds like 10 spins för 1M GP would be great but I understand its not gonna happen, as it would hurt the coin sales.
21. Remove the 500 player cap or reduce cost of adding player slots. If you are grinding skill trainers with 0GP players and training players the 500 fills up quite easily. Or reduce the 500.000GP for an extra 50 players to maybe 100.000GP. This 500 player limit is very annoying and seems unnecessary.
22. Add skill trainers and position trainers to each match pass. Would make the Match Pass way more interesting and I would spend coins.
23. Make it worthwhile playing League / divisions. Currently I don't see much reason to play it. A few skill trainers and low GP reward can't motivate me spending the time.
24. Find a way to prevent players from forfeiting games, at least events and co-op. Maybe if you are down a few goals sometimes add a random bonus like score with player X to receive 1 skill trainer, 10000 GP or something. Just to motivate players completing the match. Or create a non forfeit streak, like 10, 20 or 30 games without forfeit and you get an free extra POTW spin. (Credit: Part of this idea is from eFootball Universe Youtube)
25. 1st celebration should also be skippable. It's just time consuming in online games. Not adding any value to except maybe noobs who scored their first goal ever.
26. An option to make Sub tactic clearly visible in Game plan if activated. I played to many games now without knowing I had sub-tactic activated 😂
27. Matchmaking. This was good for a while after the matchmaking update, but not anymore. There must be something seriously wrong here. When playing in Division 9 to 7, we constantly get division 1-2 opponents in the events. Had top 120 and top 200 in a row even. 750M downloads and nobody else playing. Really?
28. The daily penalty needs an upgrade. Suggestion: More fun If I could choose player from my Dream Team. And add random Epic goalies to spice it up 😉
29. Add statistics of headers, penalties and free kicks scored on each player card. This would add value and make it more interesting building squads. Konami you have the data, use it!
30. More variety in Events. BBVA, Turkish, Brazilian Italian, English, Japan league. Over and over and over... Cmon Konami create something different so we can rotate our squads more. Suggestion: An event where only max 4 star players are allowed? Or higher GP rewards the weaker squad you use? (Credit: idea is partly from Rockchok Youtube)
31. More Beat the Clock type of events. Both me and the kids enjoyed this one. Create something similar for skill moves. Example: Perform 5 Double touch + 5 Marseille turn across pitch with fixed dummies or defending players. Or a sequence where you have to perform skill move x and y before scoring.
32. Objectives with extra bonuses. Add weekly objectives or similar. Score a hat-trick, win on penalties or score 5 times using skill move. And get some type of rewards, GP, Skill trainers, Position trainers, avatars, whatever just variety and something to play for.
33. Co-op events. So much potential but the gameplay on rails, AI assistance and the constant random AI punishments kills the fun for me. You feel almost instantly if the AI assistance is on your side or against you. Either everything goes your way and it's too easy or Epics can't make a simple pass, the input lag kicks in and your player is even dragged out of position so the other team can score. Every game feels pre-decided with almost every touch being a mistake or fumble by the team who is supposed to concede a goal. Or its 1 goal back and forth with short sequences where the conceeding team can't touch the ball. In my experience the AI assistance is at its worst in the Co-op games. Quite easy to spot as players regularly just drop the controller. And game continues to auto defend like prime AC Milan, the non-active player is forcefielded holding the ball, every ball in the box is magically sucked to defenders feet and passes and clearings going 90-180 degrees off straight to opponent. Recent example which has happened in several co-op games: Goalie makes several stupid run outs to a perfect 4 man defending line, leaving the net wide open. Changing goalie doesn't help. Same thing with 2nd goalie until opponent gets his 2 goals. Sorry but when my player, gameplay and result is controlled by AI instead of me and my teammate I lose interest.
34. Add 2nd local player to co-op events. Why can't 2 players join the co-op events together from one Playstation? Me and the kids would play co-op events a lot if this was possbile.

37. Heavy first touch or fumble receiving the ball. +90 Ball control player cant receive a pass without starting to fumble or needing several seconds to gain control, then losing the ball, again and again and again. Does stats even matter when game balancing just decides anyway?
38. Don't launch Crossplay with mobile. I suspect the recent braindead heavy assisted gameplay is needed for upcoming crossplay console & mobile update. This might be what we are getting. Gameplay on rails, autodefend, no skill, unrewarding, boring. I hope I am wrong and the previous fun gameplay on console is not gone forever 😢.
39. Master League? Promised some years ago. I guess it does not generate enough coin sales?
40. Edit mode. Create a custom crest and kits for our dream team.
41. AI games are boring and inconsistent. Even on easier difficulties the dynamic game balancing makes you miss so many chances in 1st half, open goals whatever. Then in 2nd its just walk the ball into box and quick shot goal. But if you decide to pass the ball in the box then it's magnet to defender, why not reward passing in the box? The inconsistency in the AI is just bad. And the coding seems lazy. I watch our 11 year old play and do all the right things, but the game just kills all her self-created chances. On harder difficulties even if I read the play and position perfectly to intercept a pass, the pass goes straight through my defender. And adding to that the constant interceptions and not being able to hold ball more than 0.3sec. To my understanding the AI was better before without having to bypass game mechanics (cheat), instead it was actually playing smarter. For me playing the AI is either to easy once the early game "Thou shall not score" wears off or just boring on higher difficulties. How hard is it to develop AI gameplay which is both fun, rewarding and teaching how to play better?
42. Player speed is broken. The slowest defender will catch up in 2-3 seconds with any attacker running with the ball. No matter stats of players. You make a great pass but this broken game mechanic ruins the opportunity. This is both unrealistic and highly unrewarding.
43. Player switching. Another game mechanic which seems broken and with hidden punishments added. I have mostly been using semi-assist and player oriented switching, R stick to switch. Recently switched to ball-oriented. And in my experience. When the game is against you, it constantly punishes you with bad player switching and worst default player selection. Many times the game refuses to switch to player in front of ball when I am trying to defend. Instead I am flicking through the guys behind the attacking player, while I am trying to get control of my defender. When I have free kick against me, default player is always the worst possible option eg. my CF standing 10m behind the free kick taker. Why? I enjoy a challenge but having to fight with my controller is not one of them.
44. Sort player list by team name. Would help when choosing team for events. And a nice feature when browsing all my players.
45. Position trainers. This feature was a nice addition. But can be improved and made more interesting. (A) Remove the possibility of getting duplicates on full position slots. It's just stupid and annoying. (B) Add random playstyle rewards on the new position. So an AMF Hole Player could also be SS Deep Lying Forward after Position training. (Credit: efNuts YouTube)

Some of these are cosmetics and should be quite easy to implement, whereas others like new type of events takes more effort. Dream team in Trial mode and adding already existing local Co-op to more events/game modes shouldn't be that difficult. Gameplay affecting changes are likely hard and need to be tested so it doesn't affect game in a negative way.
I guess Konami calculates profits are better by pushing all players to online play. But at the same time they are neglecting the player group which prefers offline, and are willing to buy coins to get their favourite players cards. Hopefully Konami will reconsider, add a proper Master League and more offline modes with co-op and PvP.
All in all it should result in a more enjoyable experience for both ballers, casuals, squad-builders, card-collectors and those who just want offline couch co-op or PvP with their Dream team. More people having fun and spending time in the game usually results in praise, recommendations and growing user count = more coins spent. Konami keeps earning and customer base is happy. Everyone wins.

Finally caught a free fly event so I downloaded the game but when loading into persistent I keep getting Error 30K. No problems loading into Arena. Tried deleting user folder, no luck. Any other solutions would be much appreciated!

A new date was quickly agreed with both men now in Saudi Arabia ahead of Saturday night's showdown. Here is everything you need to know about the clash...
Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will likely walk to the ring at around 11pm UK time on Saturday night, which will be 1am in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. But as fans experienced when Anthony Joshua fought Francis Ngannou in March, the first bell could ring after midnight in the UK, meaning a late night for fight fans. The ultimate start time will depend on how long the undercard fights take to complete. The first fights of the day will start at around 2.45pm in the UK with the official undercard kicking off at 5pm.

And today we are talking about the reunion part 1. So let’s get into it. I have my producers here asking me some questions so that we can get this conversation started
So even in the teaser that they put out, your name was all over that. There was a whole lot of discussion even about this podcast. And about some of the choices you’ve made not going on this season but yet you’re still be talked about the reunion. Hearing your name being brought up, how did that feel? (Timestamp: 1:54) - Rachel: Kind of expected for my name to brought up. It’s almost like, you kind of have to laugh at it at this point because oh man, they just have an issue with me commenting my experience. When I speak they don’t want me to have a voice. I think we’ve said it before on this podcast. - Rachel: It’s just a little bit hypocritical when the cast is talking about me on this season. And I talk about my experience and name names and they have an issue with it. So it’s just the same old thing. And I think after this season, I don’t think I’ll be a topic of conversation so we’re almost there.
So Lisa specifically was asked if she thought that you would come back this season. And she said, and I quote, all of her actions were so kind of unpredictable. I didn't really know what all of this nonsense on a podcast and her denigrating everyone. It's absolutely ridiculous (Timestamp: 3:14) - Rachel: I think it's absolutely ridiculous that Lisa thinks I'm denigrating everyone. I'm definitely not. If anything, they're denigrating me, talking about me every single week and just painting me in the worst possible light, even though I'm not even there to defend myself. - Rachel: But yeah, I have gone rogue. I'm actually figuring out what is the healthiest option for me. So I've said it before, and I'll say it again, going back to Vanderpump Rules would jeopardize my mental wellbeing. - Rachel: And I, after watching this whole season play out, I'm happy that I didn't go back. I think it would have been really bad for my mental wellbeing. And this is the season that they got to have. - Rachel: And unfortunately, it wasn't that spectacular from my point of view, anyway, my opinion. No, I'm not gonna let myself enter into that arena again and be dogpiled on and be humiliated and harassed and bullied and talk down to the way that I have been in the past for things that were, for smaller things, if that makes sense. - Rachel: And this is like the center, the nucleus of Vanderpump right now. But I think it's also like, if you really wanted me to come back, then show some compassion for the network, support your cast members when they're asking for help. - Rachel: If I was supported in the way that I felt like I deserve to be, then maybe there would have been a world where I did come back, but then I also would have had to ensure that we would have productive conversations and not just like dog piling and gaslighting by Scheana and all that negativity. I guess it's a tough ask. - Rachel: I had an ask and I wasn't met where I wanted to be met, and so I had to walk away.
So Tom was asked if he knew anything about you wanting to come back, and he said that he encouraged you to take time away from everyone, including him, and come to your decision that way. You've kind of talked about how things went down in previous episodes. How did it feel hearing him say that? (Timestamp: 5:39) - Rachel: Oh my gosh, it's infuriating. And I don't mean to smile, but watching him say that is so infuriating because then like a few seconds later, he's calling me a coward. But if you listen to him, like he's constantly contradicting himself in the way that he's putting up this front, like he's being supportive and he wants the best for me and he wants me to like take some space to figure things out for myself. - Rachel: Yet if I do take some space and figure things out for myself, not only am I selfish, but if I choose to not come back, then I'm also a coward. So do you see how infuriating that can be? And how do you handle that? - Rachel: It's like you just have to laugh it off because this person is showing you time and time again the type of person that they are. And I want to believe that he has good intentions and that he could be a supportive person. But deep down, he has ulterior motives and he really just wanted me back because it would make him look better and he would have more support.
So on one hand, you have Tom calling you a coward. On the other hand, you have Lala kind of sticking up for you and saying that she didn't know if she could do what you did last year showing up to the reunion. She says that time heals and had you come back, that you probably would have had a really productive conversation. But then on the other hand, she's like, but I still stand by everything that I said at the reunion last year. So what is your take on what Lala was saying at the reunion and where is your relationship with her today? Because she kind of seems like the only one that's at least had your back in small ways. (Timestamp: 7:10) - Rachel: Yeah, it's very interesting to see how this has played out. And my feelings towards Lala have changed a little bit since we first started recording this podcast. And since the moment that I got that voice memo from her back, you know, months and months ago, last summer. - Rachel: At first, I really thought that she wanted me to come back to the show. And that was the only intention for sending me that voice memo. But as I'm seeing her really connect to the different parts of being in an abusive, narcissistic relationship, there's like a common thread there. - Rachel: And I think she really does get it because she's experienced it firsthand. And it's validating in a way to have that representation on Vanderpump Rules when I'm not there. So hearing her stick up for me once again and just validate that I was very courageous to come back for the reunion last year, it is validating. - Rachel: I think also she walks a fine line between being supportive of me and also like how she said she stands behind what she said last year at the reunion. I think she's also aware that everyone else in the room is anti Rachel. So she's choosing her words carefully, but if you listen to what she actually has to say, you can tell that she's pretty supportive, which is a good feeling.
So where would you say your relationship with her is today? (Timestamp: 9:22) - Rachel: Well, I don't have a relationship with her because I don't text her or call her or reach out to her at all. So we don't have a relationship, but I don't have hard feelings against her. I do think that maybe Lala and I could have a constructive conversation to move forward. - Rachel: I'm not sure that we would hang out and become friends, but I do think we have a common ground for both reality TV and bad past relationships.
And so she kind of was the main one taking a lot of time talking at the reunion. She was interjecting on a lot of places. She even said something really interesting at the end of the episode, where she said the rules of the game regarding filming have changed this season. Do you think everything she's saying during this reunion is genuine, or do you think she's just trying to keep a job? (Timestamp: 9:58) - Rachel: That's a great question. I think a large part of Lala's motivation is to ensure that she does have job security in this entertainment industry.
I just want to know if you find her words genuine. She also does kind of give the energy that she's the only person being really honest in saying what's really in her brain. So it's hard to tell if she is being honest to a fault, or if she is doing these things with an ulterior motive as to like keep the show going or keep a job. So which side do you kind of fall on with that? (Timestamp: 10:34) - Rachel: I think that both can be true. I think that she can be honest to a fault and actually like say what she's thinking because she tends to do that, right? And she also wants to ensure that she has a job longevity with being a cast member on Vanderpump Rules. - Rachel: For Lala, I think she's doing her best to balance reality TV and the producer's needs while she's evolving as a person. It's a lot of pressure, which I understand. I think both things can be true. - Rachel: And I suspect that she'll probably transfer over to the Valley, and I think that would do the Valley well.
She has come out to say that she's not. Says she didn't buy her house in the Valley so she could be on the show. Do you believe that? (Timestamp: 11:45) - Rachel: Okay, that could be true, too. She didn't buy her house in the Valley to be on the show, but that doesn't mean that she's not gonna be on the show. We'll see.
And so Lala does have a moment where, one of the big moments where she really stuck up for you was talking about the grooming. She really clarified to Tom what grooming was, and he kind of rebuts what she says by saying that he was very impressionable when you took off all your clothes and jumped in his pool. (Timestamp: 12:00) - Rachel: Gees. Oh my god. Okay, yeah, that may be true, although I didn't take off all of my clothes. But I'm talking about the moments leading up to that point. There was intention behind the way that Tom really gave me undivided attention to want to know my situation and what was happening in my reality. - Rachel: Things were a little bit blurry, and it was a gradual thing that took place where I started feeling more attracted to him. We were talking about grooming. We're talking about the events that led up to the moment that Tom is bringing up at the reunion, me getting in the pool and us kissing. - Rachel: Also, if you haven't listened to this podcast, definitely go back after finishing our recording here. It's chapter 13, and it's with Your Bish Therapist, and she breaks down grooming so well. And I'm not saying that Tom groomed me to be like Tom's victim. - Rachel: I can take responsibility for my part in that too, because I was in a place where I was seeking validation from somebody and I felt safe around Tom, and I enjoyed my time with him. And I wasn't someone who necessarily fell victim to him, but there is a big age gap. He also was aware of my situation and knew that I was very vulnerable. - Rachel: And come on, like Tom is a manipulative person, like hands down, we can all see it. So there's a term that psychologists use for what happened between Tom and I, and it's called grooming. And then also another little note with the grooming thing that I didn't mention with Your Bish Therapist, but I kind of wish that I did. - Rachel: I think there's also this element that the show itself brings in to play. I think Vanderpump Rules itself groomed me to be okay with this type of behavior, because it's been modeled for me time and time again with previous relationships on the show from the very beginning. And I'm not a fan either. - Rachel: I know a lot of people think that I'm a huge fangirl, and just that's why I was on the show. That's not the case. Anyway, I don't need to defend myself. - Rachel: My point is that we see Jax cheating on Stassi, we see Tom cheating on Kristin with Ariana, we see Lala and James have a thing, and then Lala telling me on camera that they had a thing. We see Lala going down on Ariana, and it's very messy and complicated and blurry. And it's also like these things are accepted, basically, as the norm. - Rachel: And this is not to excuse my behavior at all, but it definitely was a factor in all of this, my decision making. It's something that has been normalized on this show.
I mean, there's no way that you could have predicted how big this scandal got, but you're saying that this behavior was kind of normalized. Did you think that if you were ever found out, it was kind of gonna be treated the same way any other cheating situation on the show had been treated? You didn't even really think that it would have blown up? (Timestamp: 16:15) - Rachel: That's correct, yes. I thought that if Tom and I got found out or like we came clean, that it would have been treated the way that cheating has always been treated on this show. All of the past cheating behaviors were not only accepted, but they were encouraged for many seasons with each cast member and made good TV to be consumed by the viewers, which kept the viewers coming back. - Rachel: Scandoval, just insanity, the scale that it's imploded to. And I don't think anyone could have predicted that.
Definitely not. You were saying that you take responsibility for your part in Scandoval. You admit that Schwartz during the reunion basically called you out and called you conniving, called you ruthless. Last year, Schwartz was doubling down on not knowing about the affair. This year, now he's coming at you, calling you conniving and ruthless. Do you think it's because you kind of outed his role in all the things? (Timestamp: 17:09) - Rachel: I think that Schwartz is Tom's mouthpiece. I think that Schwartz spends so much time with Tom that he hears Tom talk about me in a certain way. And without a doubt, Tom has been the one saying that I am conniving and I'm ruthless. - Rachel: I don't think that Schwartz actually thinks that because when Schwartz and I were all hanging out together, it wasn't ideal and Schwartz did have an issue with it. And Schwartz did try to talk some sense into Sandoval, but Sandoval also didn't uphold Schwartz's boundaries with not hanging out at his apartment. So to hear Schwartz say that I was conniving and ruthless, it's just like, come on, Schwartz.
He said, you are not a victim in this, that you were just as conniving, if not more so, and ruthless in your pursuit for pleasure. (Timestamp: 18:31) - Rachel: Wow. Okay. I don't think that I'm more conniving than Tom Sandoval. And yeah, maybe I was a little bit ruthless with my pursuit of pleasure. I can own that, sure. - Rachel: But I feel like Schwartz is spinning it. Like it was all me, and I was the mastermind behind it all. And that Tom gets off scot-free, and that's just obviously not the case. - ads podcast resumes at 21:05 - Rachel: I think at the end of that victim ruthless comment, Tom said, it was 50 50. I hear the way that Tom has spoken about the situation before, and he portrays it as, you know, I was the one that seduced him, and I'm the one that is responsible for it, which is definitely not the case. - Rachel: And Tom was the one that was in the relationship. He had the responsibility to end that relationship with Ariana if he didn't want to be in that anymore, if he wasn't happy in that anymore. He had support to do that and still failed to do that. I believe that Tom had the responsibility to break up with her. So I don't think that it is 50 50.
At the end of that exchange, too, Katie says that you haven't taken responsibility. (Timestamp: 22:03) - Rachel: What do you guys mean by I didn’t take responsibility?!?! “I really don't know. I take responsibility for my part in the affair. I totally do. - Rachel: I can see how it's messed up. And I apologize to Ariana and the people that I hurt because it wasn't just Ariana either. It was our friends who trusted me and trusted Tom. And that wasn't cool to be deceiving. And Ariana trusted me to be honest with her. And I had a responsibility to respect our friendship. - Rachel: And I failed to do that. I take responsibility with that. I am sorry. I'm doing everything in my power not to put myself in that position again and to really prioritize my female friendships. And I've gone away to figure out what led me here. I have really done a deep dive with therapists on this whole scandal situation. - Rachel: I'm doing this podcast to share those things with you guys because I feel like it will help other people who maybe don't have access to therapy or want to know more, have that curiosity as to like, you know, my thought process behind it and how that can relate to themselves. - Rachel: So I really feel like I have done everything in my power to take responsibility and to take accountability. I haven't denied anything, and I am upholding my values and I'm prioritizing my mental health. And that's really all I can do.
And so you've spoken about this before, and you said that's a lawsuit that you are bringing upon Ariana and Tom is just that. It's something that you believe you're doing to uphold your values and to prioritize yourself. (Timestamp: 23:54) - Rachel: This is also a part of me upholding my boundaries. A boundary has been violated by Tom for filming me without asking my permission first. And if he would have asked, I would have fricking said hell no. - Rachel: And then not only that, but like the boundary had been violated because Tom recorded me without me knowing, but then Ariana was the one that sent it to me. And that's a boundary violation as well. This is an action I'm taking to uphold my boundaries and to show other people that this isn't okay.
Well, I want your opinion on Scheana kind of speaking up for Ariana, because it's almost like a role reversal of what happened last year, where they were asking Sheena about her lawsuit. She couldn't speak on it. And then Tom kind of spoke and interjected and caused a whole issue there. Now this time, Scheana’s the one that's speaking up because they can't speak on it. What was your take on that? (Timestamp: 24:49) - Rachel: I think it's interesting because in this reunion as well, I'm not there to be represented in the conversation either. I remember last year when they were asking Sheena about the restraining order that was put in place. They only asked Scheana about that, and they didn't ask me about it when I was on stage. - Rachel: So watching this back, obviously I know that, you know, I'm not there to answer any questions, but it is interesting to see that Scheana is the one, as a representative for Ariana, saying it's ridiculous. Of course, she can't comment on it. And then also Tom spinning it like, oh, well, you know, I understand if she just wanted to press charges against me, but doing it against Ariana is despicable or whatever he said. - Rachel: It became a big deal because, first of all, you don't take a video like that without somebody knowing. And then you don't leave it on your phone for your girlfriend to find. And then also the way it blew up, Ariana went straight to production to tell them about it. - Rachel: TMZ reported on it and this video, and there was a target on me. Like people were out to take me down. And I knew that this video had a high probability of being circulated. - Rachel: So that was absolutely terrifying. And I, oh my gosh, if that video got out, I would have still gone to the meadows because I would have been in an even worse place. But like, imagine the additional trauma on top of that, what I was already going through. I think I would have been there for like six months.
Well, he then said that you don't have a soul. (Timestamp: 27:13) - Rachel: I'm not going around on my podcast saying that these people don't have souls. It's a new low, and I think it's more reflective of who Tom is as a person. And honestly, it's really hard for me to even like comment on it right now because I just know that that's not true at all. So it's hard for me to like get into some sort of feeling about it.
Do you also think, Rachel, that it's too tiered? So on one hand, there's these individual people talking about individual feelings, but at the end of the day, they're still on a reality show. They're making sound bites and also sort of redirecting the narrative. So when the fans are saying, what's going on with the show? And it's not great, and it's boring. Well, they bring you into the picture and they badmouth you. How do you feel about that? Do you feel that part of them is actually saying it or part of it is production value and the direction of the narrative because it brings up news? (Timestamp: 27:47) - Rachel: That's a great question that I kind of forgot to think about because as we all know, Tom does prioritize the show. This is not his first rodeo. He knows what he's doing. - Rachel: He knows that production needs certain sound bites. And it does change the trajectory of how people view me, I guess, in a way, if I'm not there to represent myself. So yeah, that is interesting. - Rachel: A really good point that I think we do need to take into consideration. It's not that exciting of a show and the cast seems to get all riled up about tearing me down. But yeah, it seems like it's calculated what Tom is saying about me to present me in a way that would in turn support him being a better looking person.
At the end of this whole conversation about you, James apologizes to the group for introducing you to everyone. They kind of say, well, you're the one that brought her in here. And he's like, sorry, guys. And they end by saying, if that's the apology we all needed, what does that feel like to see? (Timestamp: 29:19) - Rachel: It's just like one big huge eye roll. It's like the blame game. It's like, well, it's your fault. Well, it's your fault. Oh, it's James' fault for even bringing her here. I think sometimes when I watch the show, I disassociate a little bit because it is painful to watch. - Rachel: And when I saw that, and also like when I see James, it's like I've had to work through a lot of emotions through that relationship. Seeing James' whole arc this season and how he has so much support, which is fine, like it's fine, but I don't think it's burned based off of the things that he has done. And so when I see that and the cast all laughing and bonding over, oh, that was the apology we needed. - Rachel: It's like, it kind of makes you go insane a little bit because I've been apologizing, I've been taking accountability. This has been my soul's journey through this experience of really trying to overcome my social anxiety and like seeing the show as an opportunity to do that. And then overcoming some of these codependency tendencies with James and overcoming that relationship. - Rachel: And then following my heart, and where did it lead me? Straight to Tom Sandoval. And meanwhile, all of this is being filmed. I'm in my 20s and we're all supposed to make mistakes in our 20s and learn from it. And I feel like I've done exactly that. Yeah, I think it's just hard to watch scenes like that.
It seems to me when you talk about the experience with James versus the experience with Tom, that you actually get more choked up and emotional about James. And I sense more anger towards Tom and it's like you're over it, you're past it. Is that accurate? How would you interpret or explain that? (Timestamp: 31:33) - Rachel: Totally, yeah, I feel a lot more anger towards the Tom situation. And part of that is like anger towards myself for allowing myself to be in that position. With my relationship with James, looking back on that, I just feel a lot of pain, a lot of what I thought to be as self-sacrifice because I saw the potential of who this person could be. - Rachel: And I also clung onto the good moments and disassociated from the atrocious moments. Yeah, there's a lot of pain and trauma with that. And I think it also makes sense as to why I wasn't okay after that relationship. - Rachel: And it makes sense how I ended up with Tom. With the relationship with Tom too, it was so fun and overjoyous. And yeah, I didn't feel so good about it when I was hanging out with a group with Ariana, or I didn't feel good about it when I wasn't with Tom. - Rachel: But then when I was with him, it was like I was able to fully escape and to feel okay. All that to say, yeah, there's a lot more anger towards Tom, especially the way that he's handling it. No accountability, it seems like. - Rachel: And he just wants to put all the blame on me, which infuriates me. And then with James, it's like, I guess some resentment, because I know how shitty of a partner he's been. And I felt like I had to step into like a motherly role with him. - Rachel: I think there's frustration and resentment, especially the way that the show's portraying him this season and like seeing his little hero arc. It's gross to me. When a part of you is hanging on to a relationship, even though you're the one breaking up with the person, it does feel painful when that person moves on so incredibly quickly. - Rachel: Like they only needed a few weeks to grieve and then they're on to the next. It does something where you think like, oh, did you not really love me? Were you not really in this relationship? All of those thoughts go through your head or for me anyway, and it's painful. Painful.

So how hard is it to watch the reunion back this year? Compared to last year, would you say it's harder or easier not being there? But that also means that you didn't have the chance to respond and defend yourself this year. (Timestamp: 36:23) - Rachel: It was definitely harder last year watching the reunion than it is this year, even though I'm not there to defend myself. You know, that's kind of like the name of the game at this point, we're at the end of the season, and I haven't been there the entire time to defend myself. I also know how reunions go, kind of know what to expect at this point, and I also know that my voice isn't in the collective of Vanderpump Rules. - Rachel: You know, it is difficult in that way, but it's also like I have this podcast to be able to have a voice. I feel secure in myself just knowing that that I'm able to at least have a voice.
So how do you feel about what Lala said towards Katie? Because for so long, Katie's been positioning herself as a no BS kind of girl. She says you bullied her, and you know, she's ride or die for Ariana at the end of the day. Lala called her out for complaining about Ariana and not being true to herself and maybe playing to the cameras. How does that make you feel? (Timestamp: 37:24) - Rachel: Yeah, okay. So I had to rewatch that scene twice because I was confused at first. I was like, what are they arguing about? And it's kind of like one of those nuanced things where you have to take into consideration the show and the rules of the show and putting on a facade or front for a means to an end, which I think every single cast member has done. - Rachel: So yeah, it's interesting because I think, Lala wouldn't just make something up about Katie complaining about Ariana. And I think that Lala felt abandoned by Katie, especially after they were so close the year prior for season 10. - Rachel: I think Lala was just pointing out that like, it's convenient that Ariana is the it girl, and she is, you know, the fan favorite. And it's very easy to kind of like flip flop into who is the fan favorite, and to be close to them for longevity of your own fan base and the longevity of the show. But they also own a sandwich shop together, so I think there's like genuine connection there too. - Rachel: Yeah, it seems like there may be a little bit of manipulation with not being fully honest with how you feel about a certain person.
Katie did just post something. (Timestamp: 39:28) - Rachel: Okay, I'll read this. Katie posted on her Instagram story, I'm someone who has suffered from imposter syndrome for as long as I have known myself. Hence why I was apprehensive about opening the sandwich shop on my own. - Rachel: So when Ariana was going through not only a world of hurt, but also getting some amazing opportunities, that changed a lot of things during a pivotal time. I was extremely sensitive to what she was going through, but also very supportive. I was also dealing with immense insecurity about what I could take on and simply didn't want to put that on her. - Rachel: I had an emotional response that didn't feel appropriate bringing to her front door. So I went where I felt safe or where I thought was safe until I could find the appropriate conversation was to have with Ariana, which of course I did. And we have had plenty since. - Rachel: Okay, okay. Here we go. It's so funny because this show, social media is playing another aspect in reality TV these days, especially Vanderpump Rules, because Katie was able to think about it and come up with a response. And I think her response seems to be genuine, and it's a little shady because she's basically saying, I trusted Lala to keep this in the vault and to keep this between us. - Rachel: And Lala went against Katie's expectation of friendship to bring it to the forefront for the show, which also supports the argument that Lala, she prioritizes the show a lot. Interesting, interesting. What do you guys think?
A lot of fan feedback is that Katie just went and got a PR rep to write a statement for her, which is quite funny because that's what she always says about you. But the fans are all writing that she needed to go get help for a statement. (Timestamp: 41:26) - Rachel: Oh.
She did seem very uncomfortable watching the reunion, kind of like she had these feelings, but she didn't want to target Ariana, so she did take them elsewhere. And when you can find, I feel like everyone's vented to a friend in like a moment of weakness, and it doesn't necessarily reflect on how you feel about that person. You just need to vent to someone. So it did feel like that, but yeah, I think it's complicated when the person that you're venting to feels like you're on their side, and then you're filming a show later and act completely differently. So there's layers, I think, to it. (Timestamp: 41:39) - Rachel: Definitely, yeah, definitely layers. I think it's also interesting how I'm no Tom Tom fan, but to Tom and Tom's defense, not once have they talked down to the girls for the sandwich shop not opening on time and haven't made it a big deal, because they personally know how difficult it is to open up a bar or a restaurant, whereas other people haven't been so kind to them about it. And then to Ariana's defense too, she did say, I've always been supportive of that, which she has been.
What about the actual sandwich shop itself too? They said it was gonna be open by the time the premiere aired, and everybody's still spinning the question, is it or isn't it? What's real, what's not? Is it a sham? Is it a storyline? And it's not open now, again, when they said it was going to be open. What do you think? (Timestamp: 43:02) - Rachel: If it was a sham, I don't think that they would be announcing that it was going to be open, because they would know that people would be disappointed and they would get a lot of crap for it. So I don't know. I don't think it's a sham. - Rachel: But the projected opening of something about her is now May 22. May 22 is only about a week post the reunion airing. So they're not that far off. - Rachel: But I mean, don't announce that they're going to be open by the time it airs if you're not, because I feel like people will just be like, all right, where can I order a sandwich? And people will be disappointed, like I suspect they are now. I'm not reading the comments, so I don't know.
To kind of wrap things up, I feel like there was a little bit of tension between the cast, clearly in the moment where like Lisa was talking about sandwich shop with Ariana and Katie, there was definitely tension there between the girls and Lisa. Do you think this is a sign that the cast is kind of unraveling? What do you think about the future of this cast? (Timestamp: 44:13) - Rachel: I think tension is like the show's middle name. And if there isn't tension, then it isn't doing well. So I think that, I don't know, like is the show going to come back or not? - Rachel: That is the question on everybody's minds. And I think it's the right move if they really are pausing it to let the cast process this traumatic event for everybody because it has been nonstop and there really hasn't been any downtime to take a beat and process it. And I think they also are like, all right, what is the next season going to be? - Rachel: Because what are our storylines and what is the new drama? Because we're not going to keep harping on this. If Rachel isn't coming back, then there's no reason to keep talking about it because we've kind of beat the dead horse already. - Rachel: I think it's smart to let the cast live and create some drama in the real world to bring back for the next season if they are going to continue Vanderpump Rules. But I predict that Lala and Sheena are going to transfer over to the Valley because the Valley has been picked up for another season, and it just makes sense the way that they bought homes in the Valley and they have babies and they're friends with the cast over there. So it seems like a pretty seamless transition. - Rachel: I don't think that James and Ally will be in the Valley. I honestly think that this would be a great place for Vanderpump Rules to end because it's had a good run. - Rachel: And I'm hesitant to say anything because I get picked apart, but whatever. I think the fans are starting to see how contrived the show can be and that this friend group is not actually a friend group. They are cast members who have a job first and foremost and will do anything to secure their payday. - Rachel: But regardless, if this is the last season or if it's not, I wish the cast all the best. I really, truly do hope that they find healing in this because it has been traumatic, and I think that the show really does kind of emotionally stunt. An individual, so we all have some catching up to do on adulting in life.

EVENT FAQs

• The Event Shop and Capsules appear after you’ve healed 30-70 tiles; after that a free Bronze Capsule can be collected every 3 hours.
• It takes 5 or 6 level 9 Life Orb of the Heavens to clear all the 5k+ land, depending on how much you heal by merging items off dead land.
• To collect both the full set of Points Prizes and any level of Rush Rewards, you will need to earn 29,950 points.
  • Reaching this amount requires 1x Level 9 points item, 1x L8 item, 2x L7 items, and 2x L6 items (or just aim for 2x L9 points items).
• There’s always enough material to merge by 3s when making Key items.
• Caves must be tapped to spawn a Zomblin; only one event Zomblin lives in each cave, and it turns into Stinky Cheese when killed.
• The Gold Capsule, Fallen Star, and Tanzanite Nest are hiding near the far edge of the map, on tiles requiring 50k energy to heal.
• Infinite Harvestables:
  • There are usually 9x Level 1, 3x L2, 1x L3, 2x L4, and 2x L5 ITEM Infinite Harvestables on the map; you can delete one level 1 and one level 2 and still have enough to make a level 6, as long as you 5-merge whenever possible.
  • NOTE: Both the L3 and L6 Infinite Harvestables are used as keys in this event, but neither contains any dead land or required items behind and can safely be skipped.
• Consumable/Limited Harvestables:
  • Each 1x2 Island of Riches can be harvested 25 times; 75 total harvests are needed to complete Quest 1.3.
  • Each harvest of the big 2x2 Pirate Haven at the back of the map yields a 10% chance of spawning an extra Island of Riches.
  • Once all available Islands of Riches and the Pirate Haven are gone, there is no way to get more.
• Strategy advice:
  • Spending money or gems is NEVER required to complete an event, nor is using an auto-clicker or other exploits.
  • The number and level of possible Point and Rush reward items is determined by your Event Portal level; working to raise that to its maximum of L16 is one of the best ways to boost your overall progress in the game.

  • For active players wanting more dragons, the Prism Flower method is a good option: Link 1, Link 2, Link 3. Note: this technique is only for active play; since only 2 dragons at a time will harvest when left on their own, having more will actually slow down idle harvesting.
  • A recently shared strategy using the Hills chain here can greatly increase Life Flower production, but it usually takes a few gems (maximum of 80, but less if you get some in capsules)

EVENT TROUBLESHOOTING

If the event is not showing up correctly or if glitches are affecting your play:

1. Check that you meet the version and dragon power requirements.
2. Try hard-closing and then relaunching your game.
3. Try rebooting your device (ie, turn it completely off, then back on and allow it to fully boot up before relaunching the game). If you are on wifi and have access to the router, try rebooting that, too.
4. Try switching to a completely different internet source.
5. Try clearing your game’s cache (google for instructions for your specific phone type).
6. If you’re suddenly experiencing multiple issues like lagging or error messages (or if the event vanishes completely), close the game and try again after 2-3 hours. Events are internet-based, and sometimes issues with the servers can cause temporary problems — all we can do for that is to wait it out.
7. If none of the above helps, contact Gram Games Support through the in-game link or the Support Web Portal for help figuring out what’s wrong.

• NOTE: Cloud Save is still unreliable: according to the developer, it is not safe to be used and should be left turned off.
• NOTE: Saving your Progress: Make sure to save your progress by traveling to the World Map screen (and waiting there until everything’s fully loaded) regularly, and especially before closing your game.
• Glitch: Missing sell/delete option If your task bar is missing the option to delete dimension jars or other items, you can start with the standard troubleshooting methods; if those don’t trigger a fix, replaying a few levels or working in your camp for a while have reportedly helped.
• Glitch: Event level only shows clouds If your event screen shows only clouds instead of the map, check that you are zoomed all the way out. If you are and it still won’t show, try collecting one of the free Bronze Capsules (you may need to wait for the timer to count down).
• Glitch: Missing rewards/Game crashes after collecting rewards Exiting directly from the event level to your Camp can trigger a crash and loss of items; always exit to the World Map screen first — and pause there until everything’s fully loaded — to trigger the game to save your progress, then enter your Camp.

(I hope this post is considered relevant enough to the NBA by the mods as there is overlap between the Euroleague and the NBA, in terms of players, coaches and for a lot of the European followers of the NBA)
As the NBA playoffs are well underway and some really great and exciting games/series have already taken place, a lot of people may not be familiar that your friends across the Atlantic are one week away from the most exciting 3-day weekend of the European Basketball calendar.
The 67th European champion will be crowned in Berlin following single-game eliminations in the semi-finals on Friday and then final game on Sunday the 26th of May. Following some really exciting playoffs (well at least 3 of the 4 series) 4 teams, all of which have been crowned European Champions before will be facing off in a Final 4 that will hopefuly match and surpass the excitiment of previous years. Real Madrid and Olympiakos will be facing off, while Fenerbahce and Panathinaikos will be hoping to return to the final after long waiting periods.

SEMI-FINAL A- 24th of May 2024 21:00 (Central European Summer Time)

In a repeat of last years exciting and heartbraking final Real Madrid will have to face their Greek rivals Olympiakos Piraeus in a match that will hopefuly surpass the excitement of last years title-decider.
REAL MADRID (11 times European Champion, 36 times Spanish Champions)
Following an absolutely dominant regular season and quarter final series, the defending champions, Real Madrid have secured arguably the smoothest qualification to Berlin. Finishing the regular season with a dominant record of 27-7 before sweeping one of their Spanish rivals Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz 3-0 in the quarter finals, Real Madrid enter the Final 4 as the overwhelming favourites to win it all. Having one of the strongest rosters in recent years including Euroleage legends and former NBA players such as Sergio Llul, Edy Tavares, Rudy Fernandez, Mario Hezonja, Dzanan Musa and Facundo Campazzo and led by this years Coach of the Year, Chus Mateo. They have been able to improve on the roster that won last years team that won the championship at the buzzer, especially through the addition of Campazzo who came back to Europe from the NBA. In the regular season they swept Olympiakos, winning both games, splitting the series with Panathinaikos, and they were swept by Fenerbahce, meaning that although they are the overwhelming favourites anything is possible.
OLYMPIAKOS PIRAEUS (3 times European Champions, 14 times Greek Champions)
(disclaimer they are the team I support but I will try to be as neutral as possible)
Despite being millimetres away from being European champions last year, Olympiakos have had a much more temultous season that their Spanish rivals. Having lost their two most important offensive players over the summer (Sasha Vezenkov to Sacramento and Kostas Sloukas to rivals Panathinaikos), Olympiakos have been forced to adopt a much more grit and grind attitude to basketball this season, having mainting the best defence in Europe throughout most of the regular season and quarter finals. Finishing the regular season in fifth place with a record of 22-12, they had to play a highly competitive and brutal series against Barcelona, before eventually winning the deceisive game 5 in Barcelona (becoming only the second team to do so, as Fenerbahce had broken that record a few hours before). Led by arguably the best coach in Europe, Georgios Bartzokas and his eccentric style of basketball, Olympiakos have rarely relied on one or two players to get the job done. However, some of their most important players include this years DPOY, Thomas Walkup, former NBA players, Isiah Cannan and Alec Peters, Greek national team players Kostas Papanikolaou and Giannoulis Larentzakis, their quartet of big men, Nikola Milutinov, Filip Petrusev, Mustapha Fall and Moses Wright and the most incosistent player in Europe (but we still love him) Shaquielle McKissic. Although they were swept in the regular season by Real Madrid, they were able to beat local rivals Panathinaikos twice and split the series with Fenerbahce as the home team won each game. Although they are far from the favourites to win the Championship, if there is one man who can prepare a gameplan capable of beating this Real Madrid team it is Bartzokas.
I also feel the need to note that Olympiakos and Real Madrid have faced each other 3 times in the final in the modern Euroleague era,

SEMI-FINAL B- 24th of May 2024 18:00 (Central European Summer Time)

Arguably the two teams that have suffered the most in recent years, consistently underperforming while watching their domestic rivals have immense success both at home and abroad, Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce have had very different journeys to Berlin this year.
PANATHINAIKOS (6 times European Champion, 39 times Greek Champions)
To say that the last decade had been dissapointing for Panathinaikos fans would be understatement. After dominating European Basketball throughout the early 2000's a series of dissapointments and players underperfoming meant that they finished last years season with a record of 9-23 and failing to win any domestic silverware. Having last made the Final 4 in 2011-2012 and last made the Final in 2010-2011, Panathinaikos have a chance this year to make history and solidify themselves as the 3rd most successful club in the history of European Basketball (behind only Real Madrid and the banned CSKA Moscow). After the summer spending big and completely overhauling the roster, bringing in a championship winning coach, Egin Ataman, as well as some great additions from both Europe and the NBA, such as Kostas Sloukas, Mattias Lessort, Juancho Hernangomez, Jerian Grant, Ioannis Papapetrou, Kostas Mitoglou (most of these names probably won't mean much but this is an absolutely stacked roster). They were able to finish the regular season in second place with a record of 23-11. In the quarter-finals they worried their fans quite a bit as it took them a bit too long to beat the 7th-placed Maccabi Tel Aviv (who have been playing their home games in an empty arena in Belgrade due to the conflict in Israel/Gaza), winning the series in 5 games inside a packed OAKA. In the regular season they split the series with Fenerbahce with the home team winning each game, however they were swept 2-0 by both Olympiakos and split the series with Real Madrid, with away-team winning each time.
FENERBAHCE ISTANBUL (1 time European Champion, 13 times Turkish Champions)
It is difficult to put into words the season that Fener have had, after losing to Olympiakos in the quarter-finals last year, they decided to stick by their coach Dimitris Itoudis, allowing him to build his own roster (probably most notably brining on 3 Greek players), however following an underwhelming start to the season he was sacked and replaced by the Lithuanian Basketball legend and former Barcelona coach, Sarunas Jasikevicius. Since then they have been close to unstopable as throughout the regular season they only lost 2 games in Istanbul but finished only 6th in the standings with a record of 20-14. Led by a rost that includes players such as Nick Calathis, Nigel Hayes-Davies, Scottie Wilbekin, Jonathan Motley, Tyler Dorsey, Georgios Papagiannis, Tarik Biberovic and others Fener will try to match their domestic rivals Anadolu Efes and win their second European title. To reach the Final 4 they had to beat Monaco, led by the MVP and all-time top scorer (and Kevin Durants best friend), Mike James, doing that by becoming the first ever team to win a deceisive game five away from home. Throughout the regular season they split the series with both Panathinaikos and Olympiakos and beat Real Madrid twice, meaning that despite their place in the regular season in only 6th place nobody should discount them.
Unlike the other semifinal I think this is much harder to predict anything about. Two teams both of which were mostly constructed over the summer with newly hired coaches and a desire to reach the final after a relatively long wait when compared to the other semi-final. Oddly enough Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce have also never faced each other in the Euroleague Final 4, as they both had their most successful periods under the guidance of Zelijko Obradovic with no overlap between the two.

Some Concluding Remarks

I would never claim that European teams are better than NBA teams, nor would I fault anybody for saying "why should I care about European basketball?" (I only got into the NBA myself around 5-6 years ago and I understand how difficult it can be to follow basketball across two different continents). However, if anybody finds themselves with some free time next Friday and next Sunday, with nothing better to, the Final Four should be something enjoyable to have playing in the background. You might even want to follow some players who played for your favourite team in America, or perhaps for the University you support., or you might even decide that you want to follow one of teams because of their performance in other sports.
