How is it not me? Help me understand as a gaming widow
My(38f) husband(34m) spent $1800 in 3 months on a mobile game. He recently started purchasing google play cards behind my back so it's not apparent on the bank statement. I caught him because I found it in our truck under the seat. Now he asks for google play cards...except I'm too scared to say no..he's so mean and cold and the walls have holes from it.
I started going to therapy because he's forced us into living almost below paycheck to paycheck. Ofc we've had multiple convos and he knows he may lose me.
I asked my therapist, "How is it not my fault when the kids and me are his life he's trying to escape?" . My therapist kept repeating, "I promise it's not, this is something within him".
I hate her answer.
Can you help me see it from his view? I feel like he doesn't want to be a father to our kids (2m, 7f). Maybe he doesn't want a life with me and can't admit it? Is therapist trying to coddle me? Like is she worried if she says, "WanderingWifie, you are a shit mom. You are a shit partner. You are a shit person. This is your fault because you're a SAHM and he hates living with you in the life you've created together!" That I'll never come back or hurt myself?
He tells me, "at least I'm here. I could be doing (xyz event away from home)after work". At this point I might as well consider him a "cardboard cutout that's glued to the chair". No, really. Our 2yr son got all the way out the door when I was in the backyard letting the dogs out.
I miss my husband so fucking much. We don't go to bed together anymore. He goes to bed at around 130am. I'm never his focus after the kids go to bed. He thinks he's "present" but I doubt he could tell you the plot of any movie or show we've watched lately. He's glued to it for all but maybe 1-2 waking hours...that's me being generous and counting all total points he briefly engages with us. He gets angry when I ask for help putting the kids to bed because it's in the middle of one of his battle raids.
Please please be brutally honest. I don't want to fight for someone to stay in a life they hate.
My MIL is trying to save me from her own son Apr 21, 2024
It just hit me this morning as I sat processing my most recent appointment. It was at her insistence that I saw a therapist that worked closely with women's health. My MIL is the one that briefed the therapist on the situation with her son and his addiction.
My therapist asked, "Does your MIL know how bad the situation at home can get?".
For a moment I didn't answer and the pieces slowly came together as I spoke, "I didn't need to. She saw the holes in the wall and now the shattered glass in the cabinet. I didn't even have a conversation about the cabinet. She texted me after that she was booking me with you and that a wife should never fear her husband. But I never said I was afraid. She knew.."
I cannot imagine how hard this must have been for my MIL; accepting her son is capable of evil and knowing the therapist would guide me into seeing the addiction and abuse wasn't normal, knowing it would leave to me putting plans in place to leave him. She did this knowing the divorce will be nasty and I will have main custody of the kids.
This woman stood up for other woman over her son and I don't know how to begin to thank her.
Edit: info: FIL & MIL grew up in physically abusive households they are not abusive.
My husband is verbally abusive. The concern is it transferring from holes in the walls/smashed glass to my face being met with his fist. For those that don't see holes in walls as warnings....you are blind the way I was...it can turn on a dime, it's a question of when. I had become so used to it preaddiction that it no longer phased me as "not normal". The addiction has ramped his anger issues up. I do not feel safe saying no when he asks to spend money on it.
Edit 2: I promise to continue to update and make posts. It's hard for me to not delete because this addiction...and what it's done...not only is it not talked about (on the rise according to my therapist and WHO has classified it as a disorder similar to gambling) but people that "don't get it" are like "WHAT A LOSER". Please understand this is a 13 year relationship (married for 9 of them) and he was not always like this. I loved the man I married. I do not love this man that has replaced him.

We've been fighting a lot...mostly about the mobile game addiction. I don't want to get into it here but it's a lot of money and time. My post history talks more about it.
I started crying on the spot when he said it. It was a low blow for many reasons.

1. I tried several different majors in my 20's but bad mental health got in my way and I failed.
   
2. I graduated last summer from a medical trade there are no jobs for.
   
3. I got fired in Jan (2 weeks from the 90 day probation) from my last job and it devastated me because I tried my hardest at it...I guess I'm just garbage at admin work.
   
4. I've been feeling very lost in life and wondering my purpose. Should I go back to my career I had before the kids? I was just a dog groomer...average at best..I tried to break away with a career change but that failed..as you can see.
   

He has tried to apologize but I'm too hurt. I don't feel like I have the right to be mad because what he said is true.
I was supposed to start volunteering at the animal shelter and groom strays for free as per my therapist's hope to "get me out there". Instead, I'm sitting with my daughter watching movies... not wanting to see the light of day.

Well...It's been over a month... and a lot happened. He blew up my chance to volunteer at the animal shelter. He did not like it when I got strong and said, "I'm not nothing without you; I have rights, you will owe my alimony, half of the house for starters". So he went after the therapist who also mainly runs the shelter... whatever he said made her not respond to my emails or messages. I believe he accused her of purposely ruining a marriage and probably some legal threat from his response. I'm really sad and feel like I can't trust therapists after this...I worry that maybe I'm too damaged... mostly I wonder what was said. I feel freaking abandoned but I don't want to unpack that in this post tbh.
Last night all hell broke loose and I said the words out loud, "I want a seperation- I'm done". I was/am done with doing all the house chores; (laundry, dishes, all & any house cleaning, pet feeding/walking/poop clean up, all the emotional labor of helping 7f with school & teachers, taking on all the finances because he can't be trusted not to spend stupidly & selfishly). I was/am tired of doing all the potty training with 2m and 95% of diapers. I was/am tired of feeling embarassed to let people in the house because of the holes in walls.
I bet you can guess how well it went. New wall holes. Hooray. I went into the laundry room, locked it, and screamed, "No! You don't come in here! This is my safe space. I will fucking call the cops.".
I stayed there for two hours. He kept trying to get me to come out and talk. I said, "I do not feel like we can have a conversation without fighting. " each time. Then I went to bed and pretended to sleep as he got ready for work (omg I was so happy he got called in).
In the morning I texted my mil that it was over and I was leaving at the end of the month. I asked her to make sure he has support during this time...because...I still love him and don't want him to anything dumb. She responded with simply "We (meaning my fil as well) love you ". Omg I cried. I cried because, as a mother myself, I cannot imagine how painful this is for her.
Later on my husband called me. I listened to that canary sing like his life depended on it. He said he would delete the game or not spend anything on it. He said he would create a chore sch with me so I wouldn't be doing everything.
My heart so badly wanted to believe it. I knew I couldn't give in...he needed to feel the gravity of his fuck ups; the almost 3k he spent on a game in 4 months, preventing me from going to therapy, ruining my chance to restart my former career (dog groomer), and just everything.
So that's all for now...I'm sitting here..at midnight...nervous for when he comes home tomorrow (he's gone 12-48 hours at a time for his job).
Ps. My dad is doing his second round of chemo and so far-so good. They did find cancer in his lymph nodes after surgery..so yes it spread but not as bad as it could be. Thank-you to the redditor's that said such kind things.

It's a funny thing. This is someone I've been with for 13 years. The major shift in everything happened 4 months ago when he found the game. It's not so easy when you've been a sahm for 7 years esp in this job market.
I used to say the same thing as you when I heard of people in abusive situations. All I can say is unless you've been in a situation similar you do not and cannot possibly understand.

Spencer Chase, over the course of a few months, has designed the first fully documented, single head, single roll, piano roll perforator.
The design is based around modifying an existing laser engraver and the build an be done by anyone who has moderate experience in modifying machines like this. It uses Gcode files (CNC machine format) to cut rolls.
Gcode files can be produced from PunchMIDI master files through M2G, Spencer's converter that produces Gcode roll masters to the specifications of a (relatively) simple config file. Configs can be made for just about any piano roll type I believe, so long as you know the format and what happens when you tweak certain numbers in the file.
PunchMIDIs are created using Julian Dyer's Perforation Editor software. This program can be used to make piano roll master of virtually any piece of music recorded as a midi file. For recutting existing rolls, the process can be used to make perfect copies of rolls when importing a ScanImageMIDI into Perforation Editor. The resulting punch master is a 1 to 1 perfect replica of the original roll.
New midi files can also be converted, even keeping tempo changes in the finished roll master.

It all started with a need. A burning need for money. My friend owed some people a lot of money. She never told me before or I would have helped her get out of this pickle far earlier.
But, as usual, she remained unassuming and secretive. Until just yesterday, she showed me the list of creditors, which had more than a dozen names written on it. 😱
Crazy.
I know she's always been impulsive but to do this? I didn't judge her but I was disappointed, ngl, that she never told me what was happening behind the scenes. 😔
Well, she told me this yesterday morning and the following afternoon, while taking a nap, I imagined her telling me over text that she got the money she needed. 🥳
I repeated it a few times. It was hazy as I was VERY VERY sleepy. But as usual, I looped it until I fell asleep.
💤 The nap itself was only 10 mins long.
That was it, really.
🪄✨️ And I did get the text by the evening so I was relieved. But today, she told me the whole truth.
She had stolen the money from her dad, who had very UNEXPECTEDLY came into a big amount of cash! 😱
He brough that cash home yesterday evening and she stole it!
🤔 And the funny thing? The dad doesn't even seem to remember that he ever brought that money in thw first place.
HE DOESN'T EVEN REMEMBER IT, YOU GUYSSS!!!
It seems to have been erased from his mind.
He has no recollectiom of it. But of course, she feels guilty to her very core. That's why she told me this in the first place.
She's my best friend, and we are quite frank with each other, tbh. My heart went out to her when she said to me,
"I am in an emergency or I would never have done this. I'll pay my parents back double this amount. This is just a loan!" 😔
And I trust her. I know that she will.

She only recently confessed to me that she has a habit of steaking stuff. Money, usually. 🫥
Not a big amount. A couple dollars here and there. And mostly she steals it from her dad, she said. She's in college. Doing post grad.
She mentioned her dad knows she takes a couple dollars sometimes without him knowing and he doesn't mind. I dunno how that works though. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Look, she isn't earning right now. She has no personal savings. Not of such a big amount. Neither does she have that many friends or wealthy ass relatives lmao 😂
So, the FIRST possible way for her to get the money, according to me, was for her to do what she's always been doing, as she confessed.
Steal money from her dad.
And her dad getting into that amount of money was also the path of least resistance in her case!
So that's why he got the money in the first place. Otherwise why would he?? Their family is barely making ends meet afterall! And they have a humble little shop in the suburbs.
🤔 But now, you'll ask, DOES THIS MEAN THERE WAS NO OTHER WAYY FOR THE LAW TO MANIFEST THE MONEY??

But for that to happen, she'd have to resist her urge to steal. If she hadn't stolen the money, then after a couple of days, another opportunity would have risen!

Ingredients

Deselect All
1 clove garlic
2 teaspoons kosher salt, plus additional for seasoning
4 medium ripe tomatoes, cored and diced
1/4 medium red onion, finely diced
1 jalapeno, stemmed and minced (with seeds for more heat)
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 to 2 tablespoons silver tequila (optional)
White corn tortilla chips, for dipping

Directions

1. Smash the garlic clove, sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of the salt, and, with the flat side of a large knife, mash and smear the mixture to a coarse paste. Mix the garlic, tomatoes, onion, jalapeno, and cilantro in a serving bowl. Add the tequila, if desired, and season with the remaining salt, adding more to taste if necessary.
2. Serve immediately or cover with plastic wrap and set aside for 1 hour at room temperature. Serve with the tortilla chips.

Cook’s Note

The best tomatoes--juicy with a bright, summer-sweet taste--are vine-ripened. A cue for great taste is a deep, rich color all the way up to the stem, but a full tomato aroma counts too. Don't be shy: It's OK to sniff a tomato. Store your tomatoes at room temperature, not in the refrigerator; chilling deadens their taste and mars their texture. Why mash instead of mince garlic? For raw dips and sauces, when the garlic is reduced to a smooth paste, it flavors a dish more evenly and less harshly than if added in pieces. Another reason to love this "smushing": It's quicker than mincing.

Let me preemptively ask for forgiveness, this will be a bit of a rant. Please skip to the end for a link to the research this rant mostly pertains to.
I'm 34. I spent more nights than I could ever count throughout my childhood sleeping at the park and just staring at the sky. I never once wanted to teach physics, although I love when people are curious and wouldn't be against it. I never once wanted to be on tv as the 'now let's talk to astrophysicist xyz' guy. I did then and still do prefer to go unnoticed; I never wanted people to put me on some pedestal at a party because of the career I dreamed about having.
I just wanted to understand how the Universe works. I wanted to push societies understanding of the Universe forward and bring us all closer to the stars.
Where this rant is coming from
During my undergrad I was offered an incredible job opportunity that was truly once in a lifetime, so I took 5 years off to work abroad. Because of that I decided against a PhD and wound up working in software. I was reasonably happy with my career, but I always felt as if I wasn't contributing as much as I was capable of contributing to society. I enjoyed the problem solving, but I wanted to do something that mattered.
Two years ago an epiphany hit me. Einstein had made a massive assumption, and our observations are better described by a model in which that assumption is inaccurate. I began to focus more on formalizing a theory around this geometry, and not long after left my career in software behind. It has taken me 2 years to formalize this model to the extent that I was comfortable submitting it for publication.
This model both coincides with every single piece of experimental validation for existing interpretations of relativity, and makes multiple predictions that we have already confirmed through observation and/or experiment that SR and GR cannot account for. It yields a peculiar velocity that aligns with direct observation, produces a mechanism for the bullet cluster lensing effects, can explain the lack of gravitational aberration, and remedies multiple relativistic asymmetries and paradoxes... again... without a single conflicting prediction that would lend weight to existing models or the model being proposed. It requires far fewer modifications to pre-relativity theories than either SR or GR, and produces none of the asymmetries that fall directly out of current relativistic interpretations.
Despite all of that, I was just rejected for publication 3 times. The math is absolutely rock solid, it makes multiple verified predictions, and creates not a single conflicting prediction. Admittedly, it's an Annus Mariballus level of a leap, but that's what happens when the entire field sits still while they pose for talk shows for 80 years.
The fact that this paper, despite making incredible and verified predictions has been denied publication 3 times has everything to do with the fact that physicists have become celebrities. If you spend your entire career taking pride in the fact that your claims are mind bending and that you're one of the few that can actually grasp them, would you approve a paper that demonstrates just how wrong you've been? Physicists absolutely love to take experimental confirmation of a very specific part of a theory and extrapolate on that publicly, claiming that the experimental evidence proves far, far more than it actually does, and now the entire physics profession is incapable of moving forward due solely to their inability to admit they were wrong, and that their genius social status is completely unearned.
The human body is far more complex than the cosmos, yet medical doctors don't behave this way. Einstein's celebrity status has ruined physics, and ruined the career I dreamed about since I started sleeping at the park at 8 years old. That is not to say that it is Einstein's fault. He after all chased answers to the mysteries of the Universe; the celebrity just happened. The physics profession since then, however, has become completely full of people that live for this celebrity status. It is full of people that are completely driven by the acceptance of others, the praise of strangers, and the feeling that everyone else is looking at them and thinking about just how smart they are.
Trying to get people like that to approve a paper that demonstrates just how wrong they have been for their entire career is hopeless. Because of that, I'm releasing a note taking app I built over the course of my own research, and am publishing the paper there. I would encourage anyone that's interested to check it out here. I've never been so conflicted about something in my life. On one hand, I'm more confident in this model than I am that I would fall to the floor if I were to walk off of the roof. I know it's just a matter of time until this reaches the right researcher. On the other, I'm aware of the damage this is going to do to the field that I've been drawn to my entire life. How much faith are people going to lose in physics when they realize the celebrities they listened to for the past 80 years took 10% experimental validation and filled in the remaining 90% with a wild guess, and portrayed it all as if it was a fact? They've destroyed academic physics to the extent that potentially ground breaking peer review is now relegated to online forums, so for-profit journals don't question the existing science that has led us straight into a dead end.

Hi Everyone
So a couple of my cabinet hinges broke. I found a similar style hinge at the local home depot. The problem is that the hole wide between the two screws on the cabinet side are not as wide as on the new hinge. Probably a few MM wider on the new hinge. Everything else seems to line up ok. I could "force" the screws to go in as I can still see the holes in the wood if i were to place the hinge in the middle between the holes. The problem is when I force the screws in that way the cabinet door always ends up either a few MM taller or shorter than the opposing door.
Is there any replacement hinges where the screw holes are a couple MM narrower to match the existing plastic dowelled holes? Figured I would replace a lot of the worn out ones or the ones that look like they are about to break. The hinges themselves seem to be holding up fine. It's the base plates that screw into the cabinets that usually break. I would not mind just replacing the base plates either if there are compatible ones available new.

The reason I quoted ufos is because I don't believe they are alien-crafts as I'm sure you guys would figure out too. I'm absolutely sure this is one of the few gem videos that is highly likely legitimate and I'm sure you guys would be able to quickly tell that there's something to it too. I would've loved to contact that man but he has unfortunately died under mysterious circumstances a few years ago.
In case you haven't already figured out, this man is able to summon entities from other dimensions on command through making contact with them. These entities are able to physically manifest as orbs in the sky which the news interprets as 'ufos'.
I feel like this is very relevant to prison planet theory because it is an actual legitimate and documented piece of evidence for the existence of inter-dimensional beings out there.
The important questions I have is, what are those entities. Are they archons or any entities which are potentially deceiving that prophet?
What are the entities intentions for appearing on command like that, especially for the news station, since it is clear that they want to make themselves publicly known. This leads me to ask if those entities are potentially good and genuinely seek to help us?
I just wanted to know your guys' thoughts about this since I think this video can give us a lot of useful insight on how this realm works and how we can potentially make contact with such entities ourselves.
Again, there are debunking theories out there claiming that it's just a balloon but the way it was portrayed as moving where it dissapeared and reappeared doesn't seem too likely for a balloon at the mercy of the winds. Maybe the balloon was in a cloud and appeared by exiting said cloud at the exact moment the prophet told the news station to look at the sky?
Note the reporter made a comment saying "it's moving pretty fast" which means that object must be moving pretty damn fast for the reporter to see its movement with his naked eyes across the sky. It is hard to see the movements of an object the farther it is away, so if it was a balloon, it would be moving way slower where the speed in your perspective across the sky would be incredibly slow. If that was the case, the reporter would never have made the comment that its moving fast. Obviously you can immediately throw away any possibility of ABC staging this or faking it since i know the news lies about a lot of stuff but they wouldn't fake something that obvious.

I have a framed painting or print which appears to be on canvas it is signed in pencil in the bottom right corner 66/100. By the South African artist Tim Cooke. The piece is titled ‘African Red’. Here is where i am a bit confused. I found it easily on his website but if it’s a print of his original work is it printed on a canvas type of board? Or did he simply paint a duplicate 100 times? Could this be a lithograph? I’m not really sure what this is. Thanks for your help ahead of time.

Thank you to anybody who reads this post. I've played magic on and off for a few years, did commander 5+ years ago, want to get back into it. Kaalia of the Vast is (in my opinion) the best flavor ever, and the deck looks really fun. But for some reason, every hand in moxfield playtesting is a BRICK. I don't want to purchase the deck if it will always brick, so I wanted to ask you guys for any optimizations you would make to it. Please keep in mind I DO NOT want to run mana crypt, jeweled lotus, dockside extortionist, etc. because I don't think anybody I play against will have fun running into $100+ cards. (Also, any cheaper substitutes for some of the more expensive creatures are things I am open to)
