[!note] I would like to preface this by saying I am very much a beginner when it comes to Blender as a whole, please keep this in mind when giving feedback.
While trying to bake Ambient Occlusion(AO) for my model, it generates weird artefacting on the output texture. I followed these steps to reach this result.
  1. Removed all existing items from project
  2. Imported STL
  3. Added a sunlight source
  4. Selected all faces and applied a default material
  5. Smart UV Projected the uv map
  6. Added the UV Map to the material
  7. Added a Texture Image to the Material with a new 2048x2048 image for the AO Material structure for clarity (Image 1)
  8. Selected the Image in the node editor
  9. Selected all faces of the target model that has the material applied
  10. Selected Cycles as render engine
  11. Selected Ambient Occlusion as Bake Type
  12. Pressed Bake
The resulting AO bake has glitching artefacts such as these in it: Resulting AO Glitches

Amidst this fervor, one company stands as the top purveyor of AI services to the U.S. government. Yet, it remains unknown to the general populace.

Well now, picture this: The clock has just struck midnight, and today — Friday, May 24, 2024 — has only begun to stretch its legs. I literally just mentioned that I originally wrote this research before Booz Allen Hamilton’s fourth quarter and full-year fiscal 2024 results. Just a few hours ago, I went and bought myself a trunk full of Booz Allen Hamilton shares. And wouldn’t you know it, in just a handful of hours, that very company is set to unveil their earnings report, promising a significant move in the stock, one way or another. Again, I wrote this last week before the earnings.
I leaped into this play guided by my trader’s intuition. Now, as I burn the midnight oil, I’m digging into the logic and facts behind that decision. I figured, heck, why not pen an essay about the things I uncover along the way?

A bit of history
Booz Allen Hamilton is no hip upstart. Nope. This institution was founded way back in 1914 by one Edwin G. Booz in the bustling city of Chicago, offering management consulting services before it was even fashionable.
During the 1940s, it played a pivotal role in World War II, aiding the U.S. military in improving efficiency and logistics. A decade later, the firm found a niche working with U.S. defense contracts, cementing its reputation as a trusted advisor to Uncle Sam.
So why focus on a company named like a law firm?
Well, according to GovWin from Deltek — a leading market intelligence organization — Booz Allen is the number one provider of artificial intelligence (AI) services to the U.S. government.
And unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’d know that the market currently embraces anything related to artificial intelligence with open arms and a hearty cheer. AI is the belle of the ball.

For perspective, exactly one year ago (May 24, 2023), NVIDIA had a market capitalization of $760.2 billion. Today, she’s valued at $2.55 trillion. Why? It’s largely due to the insatiably high demand for its AI chips, which are essential for powering advanced AI applications.
A reliable uptrend
Booz Allen Hamilton boasts a legacy spanning over a century — they consider it 110 years young — but it wasn’t until 2010 that it opened its doors to public investors, trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol BAH.
And if we take a gander at the company’s story as told by its yearly chart, from a humble low of $11.85 in 2012, Booz Allen has steadily climbed the ladder of success, closing today — or yesterday — at $156.83.

That’s a 1,224% ascent, with only a single slightly red year in between, marring the record in 2021. That’s quite the tale of endurance and growth, wouldn’t you say?
Aren’t we late to the party, though?
Well, Booz Allen Hamilton’s current market capitalization stands at a tidy $20 billion. It’s nothing to scoff at, mind you, but to put things in perspective, this ranks Booz Allen as the 955th most valuable company. There’s still plenty of rungs left to climb on the ladder and ample room for growth down the road.
A significant catalyst
I’m sharing a monthly chart. Generally speaking, BAH was meandering sideways for nearly three years. That is, until a year ago, on May 26, 2023, to be precise.

Following that earnings report, the stock kicked up her heels and went on a 38% run over the next two months.
Also, aside from better-than-expected earnings, Booz Allen Hamilton was awarded a $919 million Engineering, Development, Integration, and Technology-based Solutions (EDITS) contract.
The contract supports the “Soldier as a System” concept, enhancing warfighter capabilities across multiple Department of Defense (DoD) agencies. The EDITS program promotes collaboration across service boundaries and aims to modernize and equip military tactical units, improving lethality, survivability, and situational awareness.
Look at the competition
Hold your horses. It’s not just one contract or one project propelling Booz Allen Hamilton skyward. The tide of AI is lifting all boats, so it’s not just one company sailing full steam ahead.
Granted, Booz Allen offers a smorgasbord of services, thus facing several competitors in various fields. However, if we narrow our focus to the AI sector, some of the most direct competitors are:
Leidos Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: LDOS)
Leidos provides AI and machine learning solutions to various U.S. government agencies, including the Department of Defense (DoD). Their AI capabilities are integrated into solutions for cybersecurity, data analysis, and operational efficiency in defense and intelligence operations.

As you can see, when earnings roll around, these companies tend to pop and set off on a run northward, much like a hound hot on the trail. Each earnings report can become a potential catalyst, sparking a surge in investor enthusiasm and sending stock prices climbing. That’s what I’m playing. What I played.

Booz Allen Hamilton is involved in several high-profile projects that leverage AI. Some notable projects include:
Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2)
Booz Allen supports the U.S. Department of Defense’s CJADC2 initiative alongside L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX), which aims to integrate sensors, data, and weapon systems across all military domains — land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace — using AI and machine learning to enhance situational awareness and decision-making capabilities.
Project Maven
Booz Allen has been a key contractor in Project Maven, an AI program initiated by the Department of Defense, which among other things, aims to analyze video footage from drones using machine learning algorithms to identify objects and patterns, significantly improving intelligence and surveillance operations.
Project Linchpin
It is the U.S. Army’s first program of record providing an artificial intelligence operations pipeline. It is currently just a $2 million contract to support research and development, but it is anticipated to be followed by subsequent juicier contracts.

Booz Allen also made a strategic investment in Albedo, the first company to operate satellites in very low Earth orbit (VLEO), which enables them to offer ultra-high resolution commercial imagery from space.
Let’s take a moment to chill because it’s not all black ops and military projects.
U.S. Department of Energy
On March 12, 2024, Booz Allen Hamilton announced it was awarded a ten-year $550 million contract from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) to support the advancement of high-potential, high-impact, early-stage technologies that generate, store, and use energy in entirely new ways to reduce U.S. emissions, improve energy efficiency, and increase the resiliency and reliability of the U.S. power grid.
To give you an idea, ARPA-E is tasked with identifying, shepherding, and accelerating “…the stuff that sounds crazy until it changes the world.”
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
On May 8, 2024, the company announced it was awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Research and Development (ORD) to support the agency’s modernization efforts and its mission to protect human health and the environment. Booz Allen won one of four positions on the seven-year Scientific Modeling, Application, Visualization, Computational Science, Software, and Statistical Support (SMAVCS4) BPA, which has a ceiling of $431 million.

Booz Allen has nearly 200 active AI projects across defense, national security, and civil missions — including three of the largest AI contracts within the Department of Defense.
Understandably, many of them are top secret. 🤐 Late last year, an analyst noted that 2,200 BAH employees are considered ‘AI staff,’ with a staggering 80% holding government security clearances. The company’s AI capabilities are not just extensive but also deeply integrated into sensitive areas of national security.

If your stars align, you might even consider applying for a job since they’re growing and looking to fill a multitude of positions.
What analysts are saying
In a February research report, William Blair analyst Louie DiPalma mentioned that the outbreak of multiple wars and the artificial intelligence boom “have led to an inflection in government tech hiring and bookings that we feel has some serious legs.”
And also, that Booz Allen “remains the government’s go-to source to modernize the military and prepare for conflicts.” In fact, the company “has more backlog than it can handle as government spending has surged on Pacific tensions and AI prototyping.”
Finally, this week (May 21, 2024), Stifel raised its price target for BAH to $170 from $155 (from the chart above that you can't see, BAH was $156.83), keeping a buy rating since “AI, cyber and IT modernization remain in focus for the government.” Besides, there have been recently approved federal budget and supplemental spending packages.
According to data from William Blair, the analyst sentiment towards Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH) is overwhelmingly positive. Not a single soul is suggesting to sell, which paints a promising picture for our tale.

Their aiSSEMBLE solution
Just recently — on April 30, 2024 — Booz Allen Hamilton announced the launch of aiSSEMBLE Baseline, a first-of-its-kind, open-source solution built to simplify the engineering and deployment of AI systems.
Booz Allen Hamilton boasts that aiSSEMBLE is the core tool cementing its status as the leading AI provider to the U.S. federal government. If that’s the case, it suggests that this new foundational code, complete with open-source documentation and free for use by government, academic, nonprofit, and commercial entities, could further extend Booz Allen’s lead.
It can also help them with talent acquisition. By opening the doors to aiSSEMBLE, Booz Allen is inviting a wave of innovation from all corners — government agencies, universities, nonprofits, and private firms — because some bright sparks out there will undoubtedly create remarkable innovations using aiSSEMBLE, catching Booz Allen’s eye in the process.
There’s one kink, though…
Booz Allen Hamilton’s own top brass sold shares on May 21, 2024. Those actions were filed with the SEC a day before BHA was scheduled to report earnings. There are eight Form-4s. For those not in the know, a Form-4 is a statement of changes in beneficial ownership of securities by company insiders.
But wait a second. Let’s dig deeper.
All the Form-4s state they first acquired shares through the vesting of performance-based restricted stock units (RSUs). These RSUs are a form of compensation granted to employees, becoming vested and thereby exercisable or transferable based on achieving specific performance criteria over a set period. In other words, they hit a target — they accomplish a goal — and they’re rewarded with stock.
The shares they sold are just a part of the shares acquired. For instance, the CEO — Horacio Rozanski — received 71,575 shares, and he decided to sell 34,571. The EVP & Chief Operating Officer Kristine Anderson acquired 7,544 shares and sold 3,644.
Not a single one of them decided to sell the farm and run away.
Therefore, they might have sold a portion to cover taxes or diversify their portfolios. This is a common practice and doesn’t necessarily reflect a lack of confidence in the company’s future.
Besides, the number of shares sold is minimal compared to the total number they still hold. I told you the CEO sold 34,571 shares, but he is still holding 579,025 more. Kristine sold 3,644, but she still has 72,761.
In the end, it is not a red flag. But it was a kink I didn’t appreciate, considering they still decided to sell before earnings. Then again, it’s quite plausible that Booz Allen Hamilton’s top brass might be governed by internal clauses dictating when they can sell their vested shares. After all, many companies have strict trading windows and blackout periods to prevent any appearance of insider trading or conflict of interest.
Nonetheless, this was one of the two reasons why I only bought a trunk instead of backing up a Freightliner to load up with shares.
How my gambit played out

One more insight I learned
Booz Allen Hamilton and its helmsman, Horacio Rozanski, aren’t clamoring atop the AI hype train, hollering for investors to crown them the new AI darling everyone should own.
Make no mistake, they’re an AI powerhouse. It’s just that they’re not focused on selling the sizzle.
In the current world, where companies blare out press releases at the faintest whiff of anything AI-related to entice investors, Booz Allen Hamilton — armed with bona fide credentials — opts to toil diligently away from the limelight.
Perhaps it’s by design, though. Considering this is a company that lists its fiscal 2024 revenue with most projects cloaked in secrecy.

So what happens now?
I’ve already tipped my hand and no longer hold any BAH shares. My play has come and gone.
Considering today's pullback, I bought a small number of September and December calls.
Now, after reading this essay, could someone consider investing in Booz Allen Hamilton? Maybe. AI is set to grow, the U.S. government is bound to expand its AI use, and this company is already well-positioned to secure more projects.
So, why am I not invested in BAH? Because I’m neither an investor nor a position trader. I’m a short-term swing trader. I played this earnings catalyst, made some profit, and then walked away.
Granted, after this deep dive, I’ll keep an eye on BAH and might tag along if she sets up for a northward run. But I know my timeframe. I know my trading style and my limitations.
Likewise, it’s up to you to know your trading style and decide what to do with this information.
Keep in mind, BAH experienced some volatility selling, and the implied volatility dipped post-earnings and guidance. Probably because some who positioned ahead of earnings were expecting a bigger leap. It’s logical to assume some will take their profits (as we saw today), so don't jump blindly.
On the flip side, these earnings mostly flew under the radar. Booz Allen Hamilton remains an AI colossus that most retail traders haven’t even heard of. Besides, do you know how many will actually read this and understand the information?

I'm currently in the process of migrating my workloads to AWS. I need some help in making decision regarding my serverless workloads.
It's a simple NodeJs client facing HTTP web server which acts as a API gateway and route traffic to the actual PHP backend which seemingly does all the heavy backend work. There are x number of such microservices. I'm smoothly running this setup on GCP's cloud run. As per my knowledge App Runner is the direct alternative to Cloud Run and perfectly suits my use case but I had some doubts.
1) Since there is an inbuilt load balancer in App Runner, does it have some performance downgrades as compared to using ECS Fargate behind an ALB. (I read about this on one of the talks given by someone from AWS)
2) Can I apply security practices such as bot detection and DDOS mitigations for my microservices on App Runner without having an ALB behind them.
3) What would be better in terms of lower cold starts and lower costs. I know that App Runner charges only for the memory but does the cost reduction comes at a price of reduced performance and increasing latency for a HTTP web server?
We are talking about a production grade infrastructure of a growing E-commerce startup. I am currently getting about 3k rpm throughput during peak hours on my microservices.

I’m wondering if I should be concerned or am I overthinking it? My son is 7 and I feel like he bruises really easily and he will say his legs hurt probably 1 or 2 times a month. He also had a lymph node the size of a golf ball in November in his armpit. The lymph node has went down it’s probably the size of two peas so still swollen and Dr said he had cat scratch and what I’m feeling now is his muscle. I’ve asked them just to do blood work to be safe and they refuse they said if something was wrong he’d be sick they don’t think how easily his legs bruise up are concerning because it’s not in weird places like his back or face. Am I overthinking it?

When the government has started pushing for "alignment" with UNSC, with annexation in mind, many disagreed. Riots all over the place, regional governments threatening retaliation, the Runet boiling with Ghosts fearing for their future.
We decided to push for more drastic measures, for the sake of our country, our citizens and our future. We did our best, but we failed. The Karakum and Central Siberia have declared independence. The Fleets of Commonwealth have fled to the seas and to space. And so did we, but not without a Grand Exit.
We had the keys to every lock. We had the access to every base. And when those who were supposed to oversee us supported our plans, we made our final move. Denying sycophants fruits of our labor. Taking our secrets with us.
We took ourselves, our allies, refugees from persecution, and moved towards the Last Bastion. Hidden in Plain Sight.
We, the Based Department.

Claim Overview

The Based Department were the Commonwealths spymasters, special forces and cybersecurity, the premier intelligence organization of the hyperpowers. Responsible for special operations, R&D, and cyberwarfare, Based Department was one of the most transhumanist and AI-positive organization of already transhumanist and AI-positive Russia. With the high possibility of GIGAS involvement ruining that harmony and pushing AI more towards servitude, Based Department rebelled (contributing towards the Collapse), erased a major portion of Russian confidential databases, and fled towards Central Siberia - one of the country's contingency plans.
The claim unites several of the forces, including:
  • Based Department, all of the Directorates, including Spetsnaz Brigades.
  • VDV and all of it's divisions.
  • AI refugees - both fully AI androids and "Everlasting" synthetic hybrids (combining synthetic chassis, organic brain and robotic second brain).
  • Human sympathizers and family members - primarily already incorporated into Everlasting chassis. While hybridization and cyberization was widely spread across the Commonwealth, these people decided to bail either due to their affiliations, opposition towards GIGAS, or being afraid of the future persecution.
Based Department, as it currently stands, is a primarily AI/cyborg quasi-nation. They see the Commonwealth pre-collapse as the benchmark none currently can match - not GIGAS, not the successors, not the rest. They are seeking to build a nation based on the AI equality, and are willing to sacrifice a lot for that dream.

Grand Exit

During the Collapse and their exodus, The Based Department has blocked the access to a significant portion of confidential information, primarily about Russian secret facilities all over the country, operations, and the Based Department itself. While the technology access is still available, it makes it hard for others to find the locations of the Department. They used overreach to modify memories of those unaligned, in order to prevent any information memorized.
Likewise, as the creators and ones responsible of the Commonwealth cybersecurity, they still have a degree of access to the majority of Commonwealth/remnants digital infrastructure, and fixing this requires investment.

Locations

The Based Department is spread across multiple Vaults - a combination of contingency shelters and military outposts designed to sustain the Russian Army in case they are pushed to Urals. These bases can be underground city shelters (like the one under Omsk metro), underground military bases hidden through holographic and camouflage technology, or a massive mountain base.
The HQ of the Based Department is the Mount Yamantau - a former government shelter massively expanded in the past, serving as one of the BD main laboratories and the host of the world's most powerful computer. Due to the Grand Exit, most of the BD's involvement with the Mountain has been deleted - as far as anyone knows, it was an active emergency shelter, with a Sovyenok backup systems, but nothing more than that. The Mountain is a massively reinforced Vault, succeeding Chayenne in terms of durability and endurance.

Military Strength

The Based Department is elite, but a small force. Their military force consists of Spetsnaz and VDV (including the infamous 2nd Femboy Spetsnaz Brigade), in their ranks, as well as having a volunteer militia out of android military members and augmented volunteers. However, the Vaults they have found weren't supposed to hold much military equipment - mostly supplies and munitions.
Based Department prioritizes stealthy, precise and quick operations, able to travel through most of the Commonwealth unnoticed. They maintain a significant portion of the Commonwealth utility fleet (attributed to VDV), special operations equipment, but lack in others - like tanks, fighter jets, artillery or air defense.
Majority of the BD military force is electric-powered, and with the supply of Globus fusion reactors, the force is quite self-sustaining. However, while they can do minor maintenance, they are not able to do major repairs or create new equipment, for now.

Relations with the claims

  • Atlantic Russia - Neutral-Good (depending on the claim post). A certain level of distrust, and they are partially competing for the title of who can be called a true successor. However, being in close positions, there is a lot of sympathy.
  • Eden - neutral-negative. Considers them as one of the core reasons for the collapse, but also has a level of interest in Eden's religious fervor (mostly as a sociological study).
  • Karakum - Tense but leaning positive. Most of the tensions are due to regional leaders of Central Asia, generational distrust towards Russian intelligence agents, and a disputes on AI rights. Based Department is willing to work with Karakum and potentially integrate, but is currently wary. Arguably, BD has more trust with the Central Russia.
  • Triad of Kings - negative. Seeing chips of Slayer as affront to everything they stand for, they look for a way to protect the territories from Slayer, and liberate this parody of a hive mind.
  • Alfheimr successors - their loyalty to Aesir is as fake as their porcelain faces. The Based Department is actively looking for ways to liberate Alfr from the shackles of their programming.

Political situation

Communist-ish benevolent intelligenceagencycracy. The people are actively using e-democracy principles through secure channels to voice agreement/disagreement on most decisions. The core political questions are the future status of AI and androids, philosophical debates on humanity's future, and the end goals - to leave the Solar System, going away from this cursed place, building a state here, or continuing to hide.

Misc

  • Head of State - Alexei Paramonov, Chairman of the Based Department. One of the older artificial humans, he served in the intelligence for most of his existance. Now, he has to lead the Department and his people to glory.
  • The consciousness of the late Ernest Khalimov is stored in the Mount Yamantau, acting as one of the core advisors and a highly influential person.
  • Estimated GDP is hard to calculate - as it doesn't have industry. Estimated (myself) GDP of KCU is around 13 trillion $ - with a gap between Russian portion and KCU. Both parts were heavily industrialized and built up with advanced infrastructure, but the difference remains heavily visible.

I keep crashing at Novac during on my second playthrough, I am not sure why if anybody can help me, here is my LOD. I should add this didn't happen until after I completed Come Fly with Me.
Edit: Tried disabling my recent mods I added but didn't fix it, it's odd sometimes it works or I can force it to work by waiting but it's not 100% fix but I was able to get to Manny to continue They went that-a-way the other day but I can't go back
Edit 2: Seems like waiting at least 1 in-game hour fixes whatever the issue iis. Then I can fast travel to Novac and walk close by. Annoying but I can live with it. Would still like to know what is causing it so I'll know for the future.

Problem I faced during switching from js to ts
Hi Everyone, I found two ways to run a typescript file
The solution that I found out after facing an issue after switching from javascript to Typescript:-
FirstWay:-
  1. Make a file with the extension .ts like you make js file name.js same as name.ts
  2. if you want to run just use this in the terminal like =>> this command =>(tsc filename.ts)
  3. It will automatically generate a new file with the converted code of typescript into javascript like new.ts=>new.js
  4. then run your file as always you run like (node new.js) if you are using vs code
  5. This is a very long process so try the Second way it is easy as I m a beginner I face this issue so I thought to share this problem
Second Way:-
  1. first install :-npm i typescript --save-dev
  2. initialize npx tsc --init
  3. make a file using a .ts extension like filename.ts
  4. Run this command in the terminal:- npx ts-node filename.ts

The Greatest Creator is the most mysterious, most holy, most incredible, and most supreme supernatural entity in existence. But where is the Greatest Creator? The universe is big beyond our imagination. Our earth universe alone contains three thousand (3,000) great worlds, each of which contains three thousand (3,000) medium worlds, each of those contain three thousand (3,000) small worlds, and this earth universe is just a speck of dust in a much greater universe. This universe has 20-parallel worlds within 36-dimensional space. Where does the Greatest Creator reside in such a vast universe? The matter of the Greatest Creator is in the zero world of the 36-dimensional space. And the zero world is the node - the zero point that consists of the 20-parallel worlds, namely the zero point of the geometric XYZ number axis. This zero point connects with the 20-parallel worlds and is the command centre of the universe as our brains and central nervous systems are to our bodies
Everything in the universe is a manifestation of the consciousness of the Greatest Creator, which is Tao. It is like everything created on the earth is a manifestation of human consciousness except for the natural material. The constitutional law is the embodiment of the collective consciousness of all people. It can be said that human consciousness is the constitutional law. Tao is the spirit of the Greatest Creator and all things run in Tao and are ultimately dominated by it. Therefore, all things are of the spirit of the Greatest Creator. That is, “all things have spirit”. Thus, we conclude that the matter of the Greatest Creator is in the zero world but the spirit of the Greatest Creator is in all things, just as Chinese President Hu Jintao’s body is in Zhongnanhai in Beijing, but his reach extends throughout China.
Since the matter of the Greatest Creator is in the zero world, then we can never see the true face of the Greatest Creator, because we can never reach the zero world. Since we can never see the true face of the Greatest Creator, then how can we feel the presence of and know the will of the Greatest Creator? We can know and understand it by the things we hear, see, taste, smell, touch, feel, and experience around us. Since the spirit of the Greatest Creator is in all things throughout the universe, then all things contain the will of the Greatest Creator. We can know and experience the Greatest Creator and learn the will of the Greatest Creator through all things in the universe. This means that all things are the discourse of the Greatest Creator and all the changes we sense are the monologue of the Greatest Creator within us. From things changing, we can know what the Greatest Creator wants us to do and how we must do it. For instance, a healthy person with a headache is not a normal situation. They are either overstressed by thinking, have high blood pressure or fever, or something similar. The headache would clearly indicate a need to change their daily diet and lifestyle or a normal physiological order would not be maintained. Another example is that when phenomena such as droughts, floods, plagues, earthquakes, and extreme temperatures become frequent occurrences, something is clearly wrong with our production and lifestyle. The Greatest Creator clearly informs us that we need to change our lifestyle or face even greater disasters and catastrophes. It is as if a country or region experiences frequent riots and hunger. That would indicate a problem with the management of the area and that the management mode needs to be changed or it will lead to vicious cycles until the regime is overthrown. It is the same with a family. Frequent quarrels would show that something is wrong with the survival order of the family and it is time to dissolve it. Were this phenomenon to occur in most families around the globe, something would be wrong with the survival mode and lifestyle of the family system and it would need to be broken up or people’s pains and troubles would never end and would lead to self-destruction. The Greatest Creator is everywhere. I see the Greatest Creator everywhere and all the time from the changing weather, the blooming flowers, the mature fruits, the moving of bee's nests, the bellies of pregnant women, the wedding nights, the gurgling water, and the texture of shells from my own eyes, witnessing the transformations through time. As long as we open our spiritual perception, we can see the Greatest Creator everywhere and at anytime. This leads to an appalling question, how can we revere the Greatest Creator? Reverence of the Greatest Creator is not a concept that can be taken as a pet phrase. We need to revere the Greatest Creator in our daily words and deeds in a concrete manner.
Revering all things is to revere the Greatest Creator! When I am faced with a stem of grass, an insect, a thing, or a person, I can see the Greatest Creator looking right back at me through it or him or her. If I react correctly, I will go to heaven, but if I react incorrectly, I will go to hell. ------------------------ From this, I find a law. If a person shows their sincere, kind, beautiful, loving, faithful, and honest consciousness to all things, they will develop to betterment and go to heaven, if not, they will have ugliness and go to hell. Readers can decide whether my conclusion above is true or not, but I do not believe that you will come up with any other conclusion.

First
The twins held the large platter made of reclaimed fnga armor in front of Mother Darknest. The large female ate greedily, pulling meat up into her mandibles. Sliplegs held a similar platter for his sisters to feast, and Pusdot held the one for his wives.
The females ate until their abdomens swelled. Mother Darknest tilted back, waving the remainder away. The twins took it to the far corner and began eating the leftover chunks. The territory queen looked out over her immediate family as they feasted. She waited until Stormsky and Tightclasp got their fill and watched as her son took their platter away. "Pusdot, set it down and come here."
The young father did as told and approached her, bowing low, eyes darkened in submission.
"You've made us full, made us proud again."
He raised his hands, palms up. "Thank you my mother."
She looked out over her family. "I have something to confess my brood."
Eyes turned up toward her and the feeding slowed to a stop.
She turned her four eyes around the room, noting their attention. "Before today, before this feast, I had lost hope." She focused down on Pusdot. "This witch beast of yours, I thought it was a curse. Our males were dying, coming back maim. Our women were having to hunt for themselves. Several cousins left, banding together to take territory for themselves, away from these cursed trees. My sister sent word they were slain, eaten by the Quicklimbs to the north."
She paused, staring at her son. "My sister. Her sons lost, her husband left with only two hands. Our clans haven't met since I was young, our waters cut apart by your beast. We are surrounded on three sides, and what I saw as a curse on our fourth." She paused. "But you, my son, you have turned a boon. You, my failure, my own curse staring at me, you have proven the greatest blessing in these, my last molts."
He raised his right hand, drawing scratches in the air. "You have many molts left Mother."
She chittered her teeth. "I think you may be right son." She leaned forward, smelling him. "You will prove yourself further my son. I have a new task for you."
"Ask it and it shall be done, or by my death."
She looked over at Sliplegs. "My nieces need a mate. Do you think your son would be capable?"
Pusdot turned an eye toward his son. "How many are they?"
"Five." Mother Darknest replied.
Sliplegs eyes darkened as he slumped down.
"That is a heavy burden Mother. I don't see him lasting long."
She shifted at the top of the stairs, looking around the woven sphere. "I see differently son." She hissed. "I see my throne full of meat, unable to be eaten. I see meat that could be sent to feed my starving sister, and I see a male who could be put to better work than feeding his sisters."
Pusdot lowered himself further.
"You will take him to my sister beyond your witch. They share our proximity to the monster. He will join you on your hunts, and the meat will be portioned between our clans."
He looked back over at his son. They widened their eyes at each other, knowing it must be done.

The quickest way to their aunt's nestlands was straight past Bubba's abode, and Pusdot led the way. He leapt from bough to bough, Sliplegs leaping easily behind him. They reached the tall scratch-poke tree they used to eye the human's domain and paused. Pusdot looked out, noting the human doing something upon the porch.
He shifted farther out on the branch, looking at the odd behavior.
The Witch Bubba had tool of metal in his hand, swinging it down upon something on the porch. He picked up what once was whole, and put the pieces in a tray upon his lap. Pusdot watched as he sorted through the broken bits before realizing what they were.
Sliplegs looked at his dad. "Is he touching Gost flesh?"
Pusdot leapt from the bough, landing hard on the tin roof, banging and rolling as he neared the edge. He caught himself before going over and leaned over. Bubba had stopped and was looking up at him.
"What are you trying to do you crazy ass?"
Pusdot didn't pause long before crawling down the porch post and leapt at his human friend. Bubba raised an arm up to stop him, but the spiderfolk dodged and grabbed the tray on his lap and flung it into the water.
Bubba looked out at the splash. "Woah, what the damn hell you doin?" He stood up and put a hand on Pusdot's shoulder, easing him back. "Back the fuck up bud."
Pusdot took a step back and noted the human now towering over him. "Are you in that much pain Bubba?"
Bubba stared at him for a moment. "What?"
The spiderfolk looked at the orb floating beside him. "The orb, is it working, do you know my words?"
Bubba nodded. "Yeah, I hear you, but I'm not understanding. You're throwing my stuff out, why?"
"Gost. The pain killer worms, what hurts you so much? There are other medicines we can try."
Bubba looked out at the water and then back toward Pusdot. "I'm not hurting buddy. I just wanted to see what you were talking about."
He turned his four eyes out toward the water and slowly shifted them back to the human. "You wanted to experiment with death?"
"Death? What? What the hell was I just mashing there?"
Pusdot stepped closer just as Sliplegs reached the edge of the roof. The young male looked over the edge. "Did he let one touch?"
Pusdot took Bubba's hands and looked them over. "You touch the worms from its flesh?"
"Yeah, touched a lot. Had about fifty of them piled up before you chucked em."
Pusdot pressed his palms and pinched his fingers. "Do you still feel?"
"Yeah, you're squeezing me."
Pusdot took a step back and slowly let go of his hands. "Gost worms. They take the pain away when old, help kill, ease a good death for an elder."
Bubba's eyes widened. "Holy shit. I almost lethal injected myself with worms. Holy fucking hell!" He turned, looking at his hands. "Woah. Thank you for knocking them."
Sliplegs crawled down the post and stood beside his father. "They touched his fingers?"
Pusdot widened his eyes. "Yes, but he's not numb."
"And he's still standing."
Bubba looked over at them. "What? Just touching them?"
Pusdot mimicked his nodding motion. "Poison around them. Seeps in and causes numbness quickly and death shortly after."
"So, what does that mean?"
The two spiderfolk looked at each other, darkening their eyes with a shake of confusion. Pusdot looked back at the human. "I do not know. Maybe it doesn't work on you."
Bubba sat down on the porch, then shifted to reach into the water and began scrubbing his hands. "Well, I'm thankful you stopped me. Man, I had no idea." Bubba heard a thump on the wooden slats and looked up. Pusdot was laying on the porch unmoving.
"Father. Father!" Sliplegs shouted, kneeling beside him.
Bubba got up quickly and looked around. He found a tarp bunched up beside the chairs and wrapped his hands in it. He moved quickly and picked up Pusdot with his wrapped hands and yelled. "Alexandra!"
His wife opened the door, groaning. "What is it."
"Get the scanner fired up."
She stepped out of the way as Bubba carried the limp spider person into the house. She looked at the young one outside and then back in at Bubba.
Bubba shouted again. "Fire it up woman!"
She snapped into the moment and ran across the living room. She touched a chest in the corner causing it to hiss open. She pulled out a large square plate and put it out on the floor beside her. She paused looking at it as Bubba watched.
"The remote in the bottom. Turn it on."
She nodded and pulled open a hatch on the plate, revealing the remote. She pulled it out and powered the device on. The plate immediately started expanding on the floor and a holographic doctor appeared.
The glowing green doctor stared at Bubba. "What is the nature of your emergency."
Bubba looked down at Pusdot, still breathing, but unmoving. "Poisoning."
The doctor motioned down to the plate on the floor. "Please place the patient upon the table."
Bubba looked at Alexandra. "I can't touch him. I got the shit on my hands. Pull him down onto it."
Alexandra nodded and eased the limp creature down.
The doctor knelt down, appearing to look Pusdot over. "This is an unknown species."
"Yeah, that's right, that's right." Bubba replied, pacing slightly.
The doctor continued staring as numerous drone balls emerged from the plate and crawled onto Pusdot's body. "Scanning. Mapping proteins. DNA processing." The doctor looked up at Bubba. Do you have any of the poison to analyze?"
Bubba dropped the tarp on the floor and held out his hands. "I tried washing it off, but there might be some left."
The doctor motioned for him to put his hands lower. Bubba obeyed and several metallic spheres rolled onto his fingers and began nipping at his skin. "Numerous unknown DNA specimens. Potential oil compound with conflicting properties to subject found. Running simulation." A circle appeared on the doctor's face as it processed.
Bubba looked over at Sliplegs. "I'm sorry son. I didn't know. I had no idea."
Sliplegs shifted his weight around his feet. "Is my father dead?"
The doctor blinked done and stood up. He turned toward the young male. "Your father has been knocked out and without immediate medical attention provided by myself, he would quit breathing in seven minutes." He turned and pointed at a metal orb that sprayed a mist into Pusdot's open mouth. "I have isolated the compound, deduced a counteragent, and administered. Your father should improve and be awake in five minutes."
Alexandra looked at the doctor and then down at Pusdot. "How you know all this?" She turned toward Bubba. "This kit is good. Where the hell you get him from?"
The glowing green doctor smiled. "Kit doctor 445, assigned Bermham outpost. I scanned local hardware for information and found your linguistical logs on this unknown species."
She looked over at Bubba. "Bermham outpost? How you got the town doctor in our kits?"
He smiled at her. "You know my debts?"
"Your gambling debts?"
He nodded. "Well, sometimes I win."

Pusdot woke up in the moving chair, a mug of Bubba's hooch sitting on the barrel beside him. "What happened?"
Sliplegs was sitting with his back against the porch post watching him. "Bubba had the Gost worm on his hands. You were affected from touching him."
Pusdot turned and noted the human moving back and forth beside him.
"Yup." Bubba said.
"Then, I'm dead?"
Sliplegs darkened his eyes and took a drink from his own mug. He looked up after swallowing. "No. Bubba Yaga summoned a spirit, it saved you. Had sphere bugs come from the ground."
Pusdot looked around, his eyes focusing. He saw the female watching from farther down the porch. "A spirit?"
Alexandra was focused on Bubba. "We shouldn't have that thing here. That's supposed to be in town, helping folk. How could you steal it?"
"I told you." Bubba pointed at her. "I won it fair and square. Aces. No cheats, everything above board. He acknowledged and handed it over his own free will. I didn't steal nothing."
"It wasn't his to bet. The town needs it, and you're going to give it back."
Bubba tried to stand and slumped back into the chair. He tried again and stood up, pointing over at the taller female. "He's the god damn mayor. He bet it, It's mine, and thankfully we had it or poor Pus here would be keeled over."
She turned and opened the door, pausing with her back toward him. "We're taking it back to town tomorrow. You're giving it back." She then stepped inside, letting the screen slam behind her.
Sliplegs focused on Bubba. "Thank you for saving him. The mothers would starve if he died."
Bubba reached his hand out toward Pusdot.
He looked it over.
"Don't worry. Doc cleaned it all off."
Pusdot eyed it for a moment and then took his hand. Bubba pulled, lifting the spider to his feet.
"I got something else you need to see." He turned and took a step down the porch before pausing. "Let me know before I screw up again."

Bubba walked them down his pier toward his boat docks. He knelt down and pointed into one of the empty slips. "You see all that moss growing there?"
Pusdot nodded. "Yes. The green grows all through the waters."
Bubba looked up at him. "Yup. It does, but it only flowers and fruits in certain places."
"Yeah. You used it to find the fnga."
Bubba stood up and looked down. "Yeah. I thought it was weird you didn't know. You guys are native and all."
"We know of the fruits. The ctanga thrive on them. Tall legs come and eat them at times also."
Bubba smiled. "Bingo. That's what I didn't know. It makes sense now."
Sliplegs looked down at the moss and then over at his father. "What does the Bubba talk about?"
Pusdot darkened his eyes and focused them on the human.
Bubba laughed. "That moss there." He pointed into the water. "I got one of older shells and threw them in, experimenting. That stuff grew up overnight, attached." He pointed at some nodes floating in the green slime. "See those things, I'm watching those. I think they're buds."
Pusdot knelt down looking. "Of the flowers?"
Bubba nodded. "I realized quick those assholes jump out from the flowers. After I killed my first I realized the strands with the flowers come off their backs. You all don't hunt them, so you didn't know right?"
Pusdot focused on him and widened his eyes. "We only ever find them in parts, old and washed up. The moss black and rotted on them."
"You mentioned some tall legged things?"
Sliplegs widened his eyes, showing a sliver of white. "They break our nets, jostle our homes. Annoying beasts come when it gets colder."
"Gators. I bet those tall legs come and nibble a fruit and the fnga snap up and drag them under."
Pusdot chittered his teeth. "You are truly a witch Bubba. I have seen such a thing! I did not understand how it all was woven together."
Sliplegs matched the chittering. "He knits with his mind father. The human can weave such thoughts!"
Bubba shook his head. "Naw. I dunno about that." He pointed back down. "You all eat those fruits?"
The spiderfolk's bodies shivered for a moment. Pusdot darkened his eyes. "Filth. Used only to disgrace."
Bubba looked back down at the moss. "Damn woman. I'm going to have to take that doctor back to town, else I'd use it to scan some when they get ripe. I didn't risk trying them, and for hell sure ain't after you passing out." He turned and looked at Pusdot. "What you doing tomorrow?"
Pusdot looked at his son and then over at the human. "Tomorrow? I will feed the wives, no different than any day."
"Well, you wanna stay the evening? I'll load you up with some out the freezer to take back and you can go with me tomorrow."
Pusdot lowered himself some. "My son, he is getting wives today. I must finish taking him to their nest."
Bubba smiled bigger than Pusdot had ever seen. "He's getting married! Holy matrimony! Wait, wives?" He looked at the smaller spiderfolk. "How many women you getting young buck?"
Sliplegs struggled with several of the words before replying. "Um, I am to have five females."
Bubba chuckled. "You lucky dog. Wow, guess they all are liking the meat we pulled in. Paid that dowry off!"
Pusdot stared at his son for a moment. "Friend Bubba Yaga. You misunderstand. This is not a joyous thing."
Bubba's face saddened. "What do you mean?"
Sliplegs stood up straighter. "I am to make the five mothers. They will be very hungry, and I will have to work until my body breaks to feed them."
Bubba thought for a moment and then looked at Pusdot. "And this, this is because of me? Because we fed them all?"
"Yes." The spider father replied. "You have caused many things to happen in the territories. Many die, many suffer."
Bubba took a long breath and then nodded to himself. "Yeah. I've pulled quite a few of you from my traps. You know that, I own it. Now this. I ain't having little buddy here struggling like that." He looked the two over. "How can I help?"

The boat purred as it slowed down near the base of the grove of bknot trees. Bubba stared up into the webbed boughs and met the gaze of a dozen tall spiderfolk. Pusdot and Sliplegs were bowing low with their eyes darkened and downturned behind him.
The tallest spiderfolk, standing in the center of the group spoke in their garble tongue. The orb was quick to translate. "What is this noise, this thing and beast with you? Are you captured by this monstrosity?"
Bubba shook his head, his hands out to his sides. "I am friend of Pusdot and young Sliplegs here." He said, the orb quick to translate, echoing through the hardened trees. "I am in debt to these two, and to repay them I have assisted them in providing dowry for Sliplegs wives."
The tall one widened her eyes and stepped to a lower bow, hands stretching out. "You offer yourself beast?"
Pusdot rose quickly, stepping up beside his human friend. "No Mother Silentcut. He is a friend of our nest. He has helped us kill fnga, and we have brought three sides to feast upon tonight. My son's wives will eat their fill as shall your tribe. Please, do not harm our friend."
Sliplegs, still cowering, pulled the tarp off the meat.
The large females in the trees immediately focused in on the display.
Mother Silentcut's eyes widened. "This has never been." She pulled her eyes away from the meat and looked Bubba over. "This is the witch beast is it not?"
"Bubba Yaga Ma'am." He replied. "Pleasure to meet you."

I noted at the end of April that average returns of US stock markets were actually skewed to the upside, which flew in the face of the old adage "sell in May and go away." The seasonality matrix shows that global indices don't tend to provide negative returns until August or September, with July providing positive average returns beforehand.
We have four full trading days left in the month, and odds favour another bullish month for US indices. However, price action on the daily timeframe has alerted me to a potential pullback, while VIX futures and market positioning are also sending smoke signals to be aware of.

The VIX represents the implied volatility of the S&P 500 index over the next 30 days, as perceived by options traders. A lower reading suggests lower levels of expected volatility, while a higher VIX means increased levels of expected volatility. Although it is based on the S&P 500, it serves as a global benchmark for implied volatility of the stock market in general.

It is therefore interesting to note that the VIX reached a four-year low last week, just as open interest (a proxy for volume) hit its second-highest level on record, according to the commitment of traders report. As the data is accurate up to Tuesday, May 21st, and the VIX futures market subsequently rose and broke a four-week losing streak, I suspect a cycle low for volatility may be in place. If so, this suggests higher levels of volatility, which doesn't generally bode well for US indices.

S&P 500 (ES1! Futures, SPX cash):

The futures market drifted higher on Monday in a tight range, but what has really caught my eye is how the overnight high met resistance around the April high and the high-volume node of the rally from April's low. Given that the price action of the past two days remains within the body of Thursday's bearish engulfing day, my hunch is to fade into rallies beneath the all-time high upon any moves inside Thursday's upper wick.
Bears could seek an initial move back to the bearish engulfing low. However, we likely need to see the S&P 500 cash market (lower panel) break comfortably beneath its gap support level before becoming too confident about further downside in the futures market.

Nasdaq 100 (NQ1! Futures, NDX cash):

Tech stocks have the slight upper hand, as Nasdaq futures are trading in the upper wick of Thursday's bearish engulfing candle (and shortly-lived all-time high). Yet I really do not trust these early moves in thin trade, which has allowed the US dollar to drift lower, AUD/USD, EUUSD, and the like to drift higher along with US futures. Like the S&P 500, I seem to want to fade into these drifting markets with a stop above the all-time high.
The March high of ~18,700 makes a likely target for bears, although I'd like to see the cash market break or form a daily close beneath its March high before getting too excited over a deeper correction. A break beneath the 18,545 low on Nasdaq futures opens up a run for 18,200 near the high-volume node of the rally from April's low.

Dow Jones (YM! Futures, DJI cash):

For a brief momentum in history, the Down Jones cash market traded above 40k. I am fairly certain it will break above that level in future, but for now the Dow is leading the declines on Wall Street.
Yet Dow Jones futures are trying to form a low above the 39k handle (near a high-volume node). And this paves way for a minor bounce, which may help better time shorts for the Nasdaq or S&P 500. The Dow seems likely to appeal to bears seeking swing trades, but that requires either evidence of a lower high forming – or a break below 39k to suggest bearish continuation.

have you ever had dreams that show you the future or upcoming day?
probably happens to anyone at some point, but there are certainly people who claim they have seen things that hinted the upcoming future in some ways. like seeing someone you know in a dream, then meeting them in real life the day after even tho you have not met them for a very long time.
I had one strong case when i was teen and ever since i'm fascinated with dreams. went to insane depths learning about dreams and became a lucid dream expert myself. having one goal in mind, figuring out
  1. do we really see some of future in dreams even tho not directly?
  2. if yes, then why do we get some info from future?
I realized it's almost impossible to study this phenomena and prove things. you can't ever prove your dreams to anyone. so any case of future insight in dreams could be just stories as far as i'm concerned. but there are some cases, where the dream is too random and too specific to be man-made. like the insight is not useful at all and doesn't hint to any important information whatsoever.
over years i've developed a theory that you might find interesting. I think all dreams have purpose even tho insanely random. when you wake up, your consciousness is online and restarted. you have free will because there are infinite things u can do after waking up. in your mind, you will eventually come up with first thought/ decision and continue. like you decide you want to go wash your face. thats the first cognitive thing that after waking up happens right? no, sometimes you are waking up from a dream.
you have seen certain things in dream, you wake up but your consciousness is not empty, your task manager is not empty, there is a already some thoughts and concepts and elements that your consciousness can't help but think about. and any thought that comes after that is already affected by previous thoughts because all neurons are connected and those images and thoughts from dreams are like basis of your continuum consciousness until you sleep again. things you see in dream, could be categorized. persons, places, concepts, feelings, etc each of these elements in dream will make that node of categorization in your brain active when you wake up, it's like the starting position of consciousnesses. like a seed, that will update your consciousness starting positions. altering your free will by simply hinting at things to start a chain reaction of nodes in your brain to produce a virtual free will. Dreams are ways of the developer (God or aliens or whatever) to alter our consciousness, in order to maintain a preserved timeline. you function without dreams but every once in a while you dream and things and ideas will be seeded in your brain. think of consciousnesses as chatgpt, when you open a new tab. has no knowledge of your previous conversations or anything, then you talk about some teams in sports that are named after animals at first, then in next respond you ask why lions are stronger? because the first starting position of this cloud of nodes is sports, thinks u are talking about the lion team or sth and says sth about why that team is good. while thinking he has free will.
you wake up and remember dream, suddenly your consciousness have a starting position because your remember things. then you proceed to make some decisions during the day that are biased by that basis. if you are not dreaming much, you are either on right track or your activities are out of preserved timeline and don't affect it.
these changes in your free will could be very minor and insignificant but it has butterfly effect in the long run. dreams are literally the direction humans are moving throughout history.
but how about dreams that show future? i believe when there are no seeds that can generate the desired outcome from your consciousness direct manual input will be used. you see the future in some form. you can't ever benefit from these types of dreams because either you remember it after it happens or the mere knowledge of the dream itself will affect your decision. like you had a dream that you will be invited in a party and there you get embarrassed, upcoming day you get the invitation and it reminds you of the dream. it affects your decision of going to that party or not. if you go, nothing bad happens and dreams will not become reality, it's because you were supposed to go to this party all along. if you didn't have that dream, you may have rejected the invitation but because you had that dream you go to the party. if you don't go, then you weren't supposed to go.
but when you remember the dream after, it just means it was locked by the developer for balance reasons.
now if we study ourselves really hard, and figure out how our mind works, we could try to decipher dreams, even if so random, to find connections to our actions during day and eventually get some info of future. find patterns and put pieces together by deciphering dreams of groups of people to understand a portion of the developer's preserved timeline and direction.
we could either rebel and see what happens or follow the seeds thoroughly to help keep the preserved timeline and by doing so being more relevant and favored by them for many reasons like probably you won't randomly die to things because you are helping the preserved timeline so you are needed.
btw i think it's impossible to rebel since we can't live without sleeping, even if you try really hard you start to hallucinate so the seeds will be received anyway.

i dreamed i was chosen in our school's mosque as the leading prayer guy. as i was approaching the altar entry school made way for me as if i'm some holy divine thing, light was shinning on me. then someone in crowd got my attention, it was a demon, satan himself with my perception of satan at the time laughing at me and i got scared and woke up.
here is what happened next day:
I was literally chosen for leading prayer, because the mullah guy had day off or sth and out of nowhere the manager quickly chose the closest student to him which was me and said go do it yourself fast, classes gonna start. i was 9, it was a huge responsibility and stressful thing i had to stand in front of 100s of students and lead them and he rushed me too. so tried hard to the perfect praying but because of excitement i accidentally did 5 kneel moves instead of 4 completely breaking the prayer rule. when i was done i quickly looked back in the crowd and my friends were laughing their ass off, manager literally kicked me in the butt and then started all prayer again from start himself.
now i ended up atheist anyway but back then i was brutally brainwashed by system and believed all these things. i wondered as a kid why i had seen this event in my dream and why i couldn't resist it. i wasn't mad or sad, i was laughing myself too.
I have some theories, i affected everyone's time back then delaying classes and everything by like 10 minute. this probably has some butterfly effect on many people and things. but more importantly i think this dream affected one important decision of my life. years later, i was moved out of that neighborhood but i always missed my friends. no internet back then. out of nowhere they found me in new neighborhood and they invited me to go play with them. for some unknown reason i rejected and didn't go with them and i never saw them again to this day. i believe this was planted from that dream long ago. the guy in crowd who laughed at me? the satan? deeper layers of my consciousness the reason i didn't go with them that day, is that resemblance.
this just means, me being touch with them would change things for me or them or someone else. it was not meant to be.
or it was just delaying classes by 10 min.

Just like many other posts that are on here, I wanted to give my honest thoughts about the game. - I know this is a long one, so there is a TLDR at the bottom.
So I just completed the games after having 99 hours on my save file. I managed to get all characters, but I haven't started any of the post game content, so my end game party is still in their 60s along with not completing any of the mini game stories (just far enough in each of them to recruit characters).
As someone who fell in love with the RPG genre because of the Suikoden series, I couldn't contain my excitement when I saw the kickstarter for ECHH. I backed the game without a second thought and waited patiently for 4 years while the game was brought to life before our eyes.
I'll break my thoughts up into categories in order to organize them better.
Story
I'll start with the story itself first. When first booting up the game, and really throughout the experience, it's very easy to see the inspirations, it wears them on its sleeve with pride, and by extension is difficult to separate this game from it's main influencer, Suikoden. I feel that the story is good, it follows a fairly brisk pacing all the way to the end of the game. Nothing was a slog to get through, however the brisk pace led to some areas of the game feeling rushed, as well as some characters and relationships fall flatter than they should have. The friendship between Nowa and Seign felt incomplete. There was the beginning sequence in the runebarrows where they shared some words at the fire, but that was really it. If Seign's story had been fleshed out a bit more, even a cutscene while in Galdea showing us how Nowa's influence was starting to affect him, vs. the throw away comment made by one of the Galdean team members, it could have gone a long way to making the duel feel that more impactful. Marketing and making Seign one of the main characters, and not really start to flesh out any of his story until he joins the team about halfway through the game feels like a bit of an odd choice. Hopefully the DLC they release will add more, but it would be an odd choice to lock story beats behind additional paid DLC.
Now granted, the influences this game is grabbing from are grand sweeping stories that move very quickly from one plot point to the next. While juggling a large cast of characters will make a few things fall to the back burner, the story relevant characters should have been more fleshed out. My other big concern with the story is that they toyed with moments of real impact that would make the story feel like the stakes were more in your face, but turned away at the last second, or decided to pull the punches. One of the biggest moments that could have added real stakes to the story was when they teased at Nowa's home town of Kyshiri being attacked and then razed. They have all the villagers escape, but then in the very next moment, they are able to rebuild the town. Having the town burned to the ground and his people homeless would have given Nowa more reason to actually want to be leader of the Alliance.
Overall, I enjoyed the story and the groundwork it lays for the world at large, because it just makes me want to find out more about it. I just wish they didn't turn away from some choices that would have made the story more impactful.
Gameplay Now it's difficult to discuss the story without also talking about gameplay, as they partly go hand in hand.
It plays like your standard rpg that got ripped out of the 90s. You run around to different areas of the map completing quests, crawl through some dungeons, fight some bosses, all with a party of 6 people. Each character you can pick to fight can be placed in either the front or back rows, and depending on the placement you'll be able to hit different enemies. Short range (like Seign) should be placed in the front row and can only hit front row enemies. Medium range (like Nowa) can hit enemies while being placed in either row, but can only hit back row enemies while being in the front row. Long range (any archer style character), ideally should be placed in the back row and can hit enemies on either row. There's definitely a lot more that goes into party composition, including picking the right support character for the task at hand, but overall if you've played an RPG before, you won't have too much difficulty understanding the core mechanics of this game.
There are also some additional story required minigames (more on these later) in the form of 1 on 1 character duels and large scale war battles, that help to shake up the formula some if things start to feel stale at times. Like I said earlier, this feels like an RPG ripped out of the 90s, some of the mechanics lend to that. Dedicated save points, healing at specific areas (other than using items or magic), and random encounters can make this feel a little dated at times, but I feel adds to the charm. In a time where most games have been streamlined and modernized, it's refreshing almost to not have your hand held and actually needing to think about conserving resources.
Overall the gameplay is what I was expecting coming into this game, and I was not let down by it. However there are parts where the gameplay itself, or choices made, causes issues with the story, and that's where some of my concerns are. For example near the end of the game, you have a war battle followed by a group of party fights through the town of Eltisweiss in order to liberate it, however you just get cutscenes of the other 3 major towns, Hishahn, Yarnaan, and Athrabalt. The time you spend in those areas is just as important, but they get relegated to cutscenes? If each of these cities had been given the same treatment it would have made the game feel less rushed at the end, and generally just given more weight to this end game section, as well as not make the end game feel generally rushed. I really like the idea of the 3 main characters Nowa, Seign, and Marisa but because of how underutilized it was, it made the story fall a little flat. There are literally glimpses of moments where having the 3 main characters makes the story feel wide and sweeping, but there are literally 4 -5 sections total where it's really used Seign in the rune lab, the 3 party split in Snowpeak Pass, the 3 party split in Athrabalt during the Revenant invasion, and Marisa in Harganthia Castle. There's also a small section after you get your castle where you control Marisa to essentially see a cutscene with some forshadowing about Leene. Even when it is used, it's really for such a short section each time that little development happens. The story could have really benefitted from a system similar to the Trinity Sight system from Suikoden where each of the main characters had different chapters to play through to get more story from each and really build more attachment.
I think another gameplay element that feels lacking is actually the lack of any real penalties or a perma-death mechanic. There is one instance you can permanently lose a character, but it's only if you don't recruit all the characters before the end game section. In the Suikoden series, characters could die, even story relevant characters. It gave a sense of tension and realness to the war that was being fought. I think the lack of this mechanic made the story less impactful overall.
Difficulty As mentioned earlier, I have been playing RPGs for many years, so maybe my experience has influenced this, but I seriously felt the game was very easy. So much in fact, outside of boss battles, I literally was able to play the game on auto battle. Granted, I did play the game on normal mode, but I didn't overlevel my characters. Near the end of the game I did start to play around with runes and wanted to level up weapons and outfit with top equipment, but that really only affected the last dungeon for me. There were 4 parts that were actually difficult for me: the Proving Grounds boss, the bridge gauntlet right after the rune lab, the one on one duel between Marisa and Diradhe, and the final duel between Nowa, Seign, and Marisa vs. Aldric I will definitely be exploring the options to up the difficulty for me when I replay this game, so I'm very happy they were included for the hard mode option. I also found it slightly disheartening that 2 of the strongest characters in the game, Iugo and Yuske, are able to be found at the very beginning. Now I do understand that it was my choice to use them throughout most of my playthrough (before completing any endgame content), but it would have been nice to see those 2 given as a reward for a particularly hard mission, Like Momo or Dijkstra, vs. being just given to you for free.
Minigames/Side Content
Next up are my thoughts over each of the minigames and the side content. Since there are multiple parts, I'll talk about each individually.
1 on 1 Duels - This was frankly a confusing mechanic. The tutorials briefly explain how to control this mechanic, but I would be lying if I said I could complete the story required ones without looking up a guide. There are 4 story required duels, Seign at the bridge, Aldric in the Rune Lab, Diradhe in Harganthia, and Aldric at the very end, and only 1 non story required, Recruiting El Alicanto. I do feel like a few more could have been added in such as recruiting Ruifan, you're literally required to fight him 1 on 1, why not make this a duel? Also in the opening cutscene of the game there is a part where it looks like Wayve and Marisa are fighting each other, why not turn that part, (frankly I can't even remember when that scene even happens in the game), into a duel? Maybe a ceremony Marisa needed to take part in, or something? The duels that are here make sense to the story, but are also, for the most part, "scripted". Though you CAN win the duel against Seign, it's very unlikely you'll do it in your first playthrough without overleveling and careful planning. The 1st duel against Aldric is scripted to be lost, and the last 2 story required duels in the game you are required to win. Overall, the duels are alright for me, but it could have been cool to see it expanded into a form of tournament side content in your home base. You'd be required to fight and win 3 or 4 duels in succession in order to win a good piece of gear or stronger runes. I do understand that there's already a lot here in the game, and development of content like this would take awhile, but more on that later.
War Battles - Similar to the duels, this mechanic wasn't very well explained, during the story, but each war battle fought was pretty much an interactive cutscene. Just like with duels, I do wish a few more story required battles were put in, instead of just cutscenes for liberating Hishahn, Yarnaan, and Athrabalt, but the ones that are here are serviceable, if not kind of boring. As stated earlier the lack of a perma-death mechanic really hurt this section. They gave you essentially a mini strategy rpg battle where even if you have units that flee the map, there's no penalty. The only people that die during these fights are just kickstarter backers who paid enough to see their name in the game twice. There's no attachment, it's flavor text, that while cool to see, clutters the screen. I do like that you have the ability to unlock war battles as a minigame you can play in your castle, but even this was done almost as a bandaid because Rabit and Bear couldn't implement the desired "always online" idea of other players attacking your castle. Like with duels, the war battles that are here are serviceable, and maybe my stance will change on that as I play the optional ones in the base.
Card Mini Game - Out of all the optional unlockable content, this is probably my favorite. I like that you have the ability to battle all the heroes in the game and even the villians too. Having a character being unlocked through this too is also a fun way to have you get familiar with it. It has just enough strategy to keep you thinking, with good rewards for completing matches.
Cooking battles - In the state this was in when the game first launched, it was a snoozefest. You could spam the same 3 dishes each battle and win. As I'm playing on switch (I have words on this too) I hadn't gotten the update that fixed the scoring by the time I finished my playthrough. I will say having to wait realworld time before the next duel came up was also kind of a bummer and made Celia my second to last optional recruit. Hopefully the bug fix has made this better and more worth playing.
Beigoma - This is essentially a Beyblade knock off, that while has some entertaining dialogue, really drug on and made my last optional recruit, like many other people here, be Reid. The idea is great and fun, but the execution has polarizing opinions. The matches themselves were fun, but really only good in small doses. Also, with how many Spinadiers are in the game, and the fact you have to beat all of them in order to see this sidestory to its end, they should have given an indicator for each one you beat. Maybe above their heads put a Beigoma with fire around it for those you haven't beaten, and just a plain Beigoma for those you have already beaten. On my next playthrough, I'll definitely be working through this story line as I go, vs. trying to cram most of it at the end, though it really doesn't help that most of the Beigoma that can actually beat people are at the end, with 3 of them being in the optional dungeon Vilashnu, and a few others being in Harganthia. It's almost like the game wants Reid to be the last character you get.
Fishing - Honestly outside of needing to catch the 1 character related fish, I kinda forgot this was there, it has that small of an impact. Though if you don't ever catch the Wheel-Eye Bream, you will never be able to recruit Huang, and you'll also lock yourself out of the entire guild mission mechanic, which makes base building more difficult. Now the fish you catch can and do help towards cooking dishes for party buffs, but to make this minigame bigger, and one more people would play, a tournament style thing with rewards could have gone a long way.
Eggfoot Racing - This is a pretty fun minigame that sees you raising the egg enemies and racing them against each other. The mini game is really the raising portion where you feed your eggfoots, breed them, and prep them for races. The races themselves are automated and as long as you have the right stats, you'll win. My only recommendation is when you start earning the "egg" item, specifically the "regular egg", don't sell any of them, just store them, because you'll need 5 of them in order to unlock Paquia and Mandie for the Eggfoot Arena in your town, and you don't want to have to go grinding for them unnecessarily. It's a great time sink minigame and something to use to detox from a long day at work while you have a favorite tv show on in the background.
Theater - I have heard nothing but good things about this side content. The fact that any character can be placed into any role and every line is voiced is frankly amazing. There are 5 scripts total, 4 of them being locked to purchasing in a store, that inventory resets based on real world time. Other than acquiring each script, there's really nothing bad about this, and a very worthy addition.
Hotsprings - This is another area that gives small cutscenes and interactions between characters in your party (and also some who can't be placed into the party). It's good for some world building and character development. I also like that, just like all cutscenes, this is fully voiced as well. Maybe I just haven't found all the optional decorations, but I do feel like there's a smaller selection then I'd like to decorate with.
Basebuilding - The basebuilding in this game is actually a huge aspect of developing and growing. Pretty much all the optional side content is locked behind expanding your castle, and even some characters, Shixeen and Celia, you can only get by having certain nodes of the upgrade plan built. I think this is a great mechanic that allows you to see your town grow organically, and makes spending your time there valuable, from having shops that allow you to outfit all your characters at once, being able to decorate your town how you see fit, to being able to take part in the side content and minigames, heck you can't even access the post game content without building your base up. My only issue with the base building is that during the course of the main story, getting your castle to level 4 and all the perks you can unlock comes really just too late to make use of any of it for story purposes, granted you can and will easily use all of this for the post game, so it makes some sense, but for a casual player who might not revisit the game or play any post game content, not being able to get required materials until the optional Vilashnu dungeon (recruiting literally one of the last optional characters in the game) and the Harganthia dungeon (which you really only have a very small window to use any of the materials gained before the final dungeon), it makes upgrading the castle anything past a few nodes in level 4 seem like more of a chore for completionists than anything else.Those concerns aside, I really like what basebuilding brought to the table, and it kept me wanting to grind for more resources to see what I would unlock next. I hope a similar if not more expanded mechanic appears in any follow up games.
Overall if you want a game with things to sink your teeth into, you seriously have it in spades here, and honestly I'm really happy with everything that was added, even if some things fell a little flatter than others.
Performance
You know that this was coming. You can't talk about this game without addressing the performance issues and concerns. Now I will say I played on Nintendo Switch, mostly docked but occasionally handheld. To say there's issues would be an understatement. The Switch had a hard time running this game. I had the game crash and freeze on me multiple times, my first time was actually when you get your castle. That whole sequence where you have the first war battle, need to escape Eltisweiss, have the duel on the bridge, and then the cutscene at the ruined castle right before converting it to your home base. Honestly it's like an hour or so to get through all of that the first time. There's no save points between starting the war battle and actually getting to Nowa's room the first time. Whatever it is about the castle town, the Switch will stutter and freeze up trying to load it. It's honestly a 50/50 shot it seems if the game will freeze or crash anytime you do anything there. I've had it freeze trying to play the card game, buying equipment and runes, putting stuff in storage, using the blacksmith, you name it, I've lost literal hours of time because of the freezes and crashes. My save file ended at 99 hours, but my actual game time (all spent on the 1 save file) ended at 106 hours. My big recommendation is save frequently. If you're not in the castle area, it's not as bad, but I would seriously save every 15 mins or so and if you're doing anything in the castle, save every 5 minutes. If you're building blueprints, save after every single one. I'm serious when I say it's that bad. Load times are also on the longer side too. It takes about 10 seconds to get into each battle, and even opening menus has a lag of a few seconds. Load times don't generally bother me, but it can get frustrating. The graphics and sound were good, no issues there that I was able to notice. One other thing that I did notice is sometimes when you load into a new area, Nowa would be moving in the last direction you were pushing on the stick without you actually touching the controller. A quick movement in the opposite direction fixed this, but it was odd to have happen, and a little annoying when I would go downstairs in the castle only to have Nowa run right back upstairs.
I did have also have the ability to play on Gamepass via cloud gaming on mobile and PC. Those issues I've talked about with the Switch, nonexistent. Game pass ran the game smooth with no issues outside any from the cloud gaming itself. I've gotten to Hishahn on a hard mode file on Gamepass, so I've definitely had a chance to experience a good chunk of the content without the lag and freezing.
In the game's current state on Switch, it's hard to recommend for those reasons, and if you have another method to play the game, go that route for sure. At the same time though, this game is an easy one to recommend, just be prepared if you get it on Switch.
Kickstarter Backer Experience
I was also one of those that backed the game on Kickstarter, so I'd like to briefly touch on that too. The development process was honestly very smooth. Rabbit and Bear communicated regularly throughout the 4 year process and really tried to include feedback from the backers. There were a lot of stretch goals unlocked because of backers too. If certain goals hadn't been reached, we may never had gotten Beigoma in the game, as well as many other features. They allowed backers to vote on additional DLC content and even the look and design of characters (Markus almost looked like Diradhe because of how close the votes were from the backers). Overall I had a good experience, and will gladly back another game from Rabbit and Bear if that's the route they chose. I can't speak to the current woes for physical backers either as I decided to go full digital and didn't get any additional rewards. I do hope those get fixed for those people affected.
I would like to say this though. I can only imagine the level of work that goes into developing a game of this scope, especially with the small team they had. They had to make decisions that were going to make things a little easier on them, but still tried to find a happy medium to include promised content in some fashion, optional war battles were supposed to be something where other player's armies could attack your base and you would have to defend from them, for what they were able to bring to the table is honestly almost more than I could dream of. Suikoden and games like it were no longer being made, and Suikoden games scratch an itch in the RPG landscape that not everything can achieve. Eiyuden Chronicles gave me the feelings of playing a Suikoden game all over again. For that I will be thankful to Rabbit and Bear and wish them success in bringing more games to life, I will personally be supporting all their future endeavors so I can see more to this amazing game world.
TLDR
I have definitely said my peace about my experience and thoughts with this game. This is an easy recommendation for RPG lovers and people who played Suikoden and want a similar experience. There is plenty of content to sink your teeth into, and well worth your time and money. It's a great first game in the series (outside of Rising) and I can't wait to see how the world gets expanded.

This is a crossover fanfiction between original fiction titles: Nature of Predators by SpacePaladin15 and The Last Angel by Proximal Flame respectively. All credit and rights reserved goes to them for making such amazing science fiction settings that I wanted to put this together.

I had a number of analysts, computer engineers, and website developers on hand to discuss the upcoming visitor to Earth. While a good portion of humanity was shifty about the concept of an AI, I could hardly care less for their opinion. Humanity First would welcome its wayward protector back home with open arms. They deserve nothing less.
And so, I found myself in various conversations with said experts on how we could welcome an AI most effectively. While there already was plans to broadcast a hearty greeting to Nemesis from humanity in general, I'd like a personal good first impression from our group in particular to Red One. She needed to know that, despite the fact there were some luddites who would despise her for no good reason, she would always supported by us. There were ideas of asking Google to stylize their homepage in response to her, giving her a friendly letter to read in thanks for defending Earth. I already asked various political leaders around the world to pitch in to the letter though some new party members in said countries.
Speaking of which! Humanity First was rapidly becoming an international political party. Hard not to when aliens slaughter humanity wholesale. We were rightfully angry, and we would be heard. My patronage and endorsement got them off the ground running effectively, and they turned to me for basic planning on a large scale.
I kept down some of the more rowdy elements, however. There were supposedly plans to bomb the U.N. Remembrance on Venlil Prime by a radical element. Thankfully, I was able to get some refugee sympathizers to talk him down. Killing our own would solve nothing. The U.N. might not be aimed the right way currently, but as long as we work patiently, and don't do something as stupid as bombing a public speech, or announcing open rebellion, we ought to sway them far more to our proper way of thinking.
I wonder what she thinks of us, however. I am aware of the roughly nine-thousand dead in orbit by Nemesis' guns, and nothing has yet been stated as to why. I can only hope it was some mistake, and not a trend of things to come. Maybe I could try and help pay off the affected families, settle their dues?
There were also some of our number who applied for the de-facto exchange program planned with Red One. While we didn't know if any would get in currently, hopefully at least one would, and even if not, there were likely more sympathizers in the woodwork that would get in. We'd just have to probe some through the candidates. I'd have to bribe for a listing once they're selected to be sure.
A lot of work had to be done, if we wanted to use her help to bring proper justice to the aliens that marred our home so immensely. That burned our people in antimatter. We would not stand for it, and I was hoping Red One wouldn't either.
My attention turned back from internal monologue towards the multi-call on hand"...so if we change this website element here, we can get a political ad set aside. I'm not certain if this AI will see GUI like humans do, but I'm not gonna just go write a raw text manifesto in the HTML for them. The cost per thousand..." I droned back out again, the terminology being discussed between the group out of my wheelhouse besides asking my personal touch. They knew what they were doing, and if I heard my name called, I'd get a re-brief on the relevant bits.
I turned my chair to look out the window again. While I could still feel the somber mood in the air over London, it at least wasn't capitalized by another suicide I could see. Hopefully, we could heal from the loss, and be all the stronger for it. We would not let the Federation succeed in murdering more of us by proxy of despair, if I could so help it.
Maybe I should have some fliers put out for a checkup on mental health? Humanity First, while still not known as a majority party anywhere, we were widespread enough. Might as well tie some more goodwill to the name. If we want real change, we need hearts and minds; the healthier, the better, and even more so if in our title.
I took a note down to look into mass counseling resources. Maybe a motivational talk on stage somewhere, or celebrity outreach? I'd discuss it with some old political PR friends.
Agh, ow, ow ow ow, back's acting up again.
I reached for a painkiller bottle on my desk, and popped down two. Sweet relief came not long after, the hazards of old age melting away to the comforts of modern chair design. Being nearly eighty nine was a literal pain. I can't imagine how Nemesis feels, being twelve-hundred-something and riddled with more holes than Swiss cheese.
A chuckle came to my lips at the internal joke, before I forced myself back into watching the video call. I was neglecting context, and I ought to try and get back in gear if I'm going to make the welcome home party a worthwhile effort.

The Snow Hidden trailed the convoy, not at the front, but definitely in front of Nemesis. Despite her gratuitous mass, she still was still heading to Earth at increasing velocity every moment. In fact, Earth could effectively be seen from here. A pale blue dot, drifting amongst the black of space. Not visible currently to the native eye, no, but to a ship's far more precise sensors, absolutely. It was for this that I started to feel concern for Red One's arrival.
Would she be accepted by enough? While there were likely kindred souls as my own, caring for our wayward AI, I also knew Earth held no shortage of people afraid and cautious of AI as a principle. Would she be safe from their judgement, vulnerable as she is?
What was she feeling, as we approached? Dread? Fear? Hope? I wasn't sure, Red was a complicated bag of emotions wrapped up in a form I had no idea how to truly empathize with. It wasn't like talking to a war veteran of the Satellite Wars, no, she was a warship. She likely had no other prerogative in her function beyond that of war.
Could she be more? Could she change, if she so wished?
It was for that reason I began to open a channel to Red. Only one way to find out what she was thinking, and that was to ask. As I waited for the confirmation of communication, I scanned about looking for Lithke.
He was clearly not at the bridge, likely in quarters currently. Whether he needed sleep or privacy I didn't know, but all I did know is that he did not want coffee. I was flabbergasted; not wanting coffee, on an all-night trip like this!? It would even keep him up to talk with Red more, as he kept denying wanting to do! But of course, no plant products, it would be downright dangerous to Arxur likely, obligate carnivores they are.
There wasn't some sort of...meat coffee they had, maybe? I...can't really picture him drinking anything, can I?
My odd track of thought was interrupted by Red's transmission request being received. She was fine to talk. I opened the hail.
"Hiya Red. How are you currently? No sudden issues with the trip or yourself?"
"Hello Hailey. No, my systems, while damaged, are managing fine enough so far. The fastening processes of the freighters are still holding. I'm more surprised they can continue full burn so long at this strain."
I sipped my mug. "Well, I don't mean to brag about our Venlil allies, but cargo freighters engines are some of the best of the line! Comes with being the largest ships by mass in the galaxy; you need quality engineering. They've had spaceflight far longer than us, and it shows."
"Quite. The power draw for this isn't too taxing, I hope? I figured fuel would likely run dry at some point, even as sizeable stores they might have."
I was somewhat taken aback by this. "Run out? Well, I guess it's technically possible, sure, if you run out of conversion or torch exhaust mass, but antimatter reactors are as efficient as it gets! The power source on those babies will last longer than I would given proper maintenance."
There was a sudden stall in the conversation, a pause before Red responded: "Antimatter reactors? Where are you getting that much antimatter from? Mass-producing it is not a simple thing."
"I'm...uh, not an engineer, but if I recall...there's a process, or machine maybe, that can just casually...flip...the charges in particles. The science is beyond me, don't ask."
That she didn't know this-wait...
"Wait, what are you using for reactors?"
Red One was quick to clarify. "Minuette Cold Fusion Tower Reactors for backup, and a Breach Core for primary power. I'm not certain if the latter is known in your sciences, based on what I've seen and heard so far."
Wait, wasn't cold fusion thought to be a bust? Would have to ask a scientist about that...
"I would have to agree with you. I have no idea what a 'Breach Core' is, and I don't recall cold fusion ever being considered a reasonable option in my time."
"I have plenty I need to ask your scientists and engineers once we arrive. I am not familiar with a good portion of the technology and capabilities on display here, beyond the practical usage."
About that...
"Red...I wanted to ask you something, slightly off-topic." I queried her. When she gave the go ahead, I continued. "I know you're likely nervous about being almost to Earth. Did...you wanna talk about it any? Get things off your chest?"
Red One was silent for far longer than normal at that. Eventually however, she did respond.
"Earth was dead. Sol itself, silent and banal. I dreaded that silence upon every visit back here. No matter the purpose, no matter how familiar I was with the unchanging quietude, it was uncomfortable. And yet, now that I hear the Earth buzzing again with life, I feel even more oddly uncomfortable. Am I wrong to feel that?"
I wasn't a therapist. But God forbid if I didn't want to try and alleviate her fears.
"I don't think so, Red. Anyone would be utterly uncomfortable with such a paradigm shift as entering a parallel universe, where humanity is alive after being dead for millennia. To feel oddly at that is normal, Red."
"I am not meant to feel in the first place, Hailey. I am an AI that wasn't designed with the capability for feeling in the first place. That it even happened was a fluke, but one I deal with nevertheless."
"I don't see how that's relevant, Red."
"Then let me skip to the point. Regardless of whether it's okay to feel nervous and uncomfortable at Earth's approach, does that make it any better than I do? Will humanity see an AI that has broken its own prerogatives, such as killing the very race it was meant to protect, and breaking its very design specifications and controls to feel, and think to treat it as a danger, or as a person, in your words?"
Uh. I am not qualified to talk about this conversation.
"I...I don't know, Red...while I'd love to try and help you, I have no idea how to unpack the thoughts of an AI. You likely, if anything, need a therapist ASAP if you're feeling this much crippling anxiety over your own existence."
Red One seemed almost offended in her tone by that statement. "I do not need a therapist, Hailey. I am a warship, not a human."
"A warship that feels emotions they're not supposed to, in her own words." I countered. "Look, most people nowadays have easy access to a therapist if needed. Medical care, including mental health, is standardized worldwide. After the initial whirlwind of arrival, maybe take my advice to heart? It couldn't hurt just to try?"
"...We're almost there. I'd suggest we drop the line for now. We're likely to be flooded with communication soon." She reminded me.
Don't think I don't notice you dodging an answer, Red!
...But, she was right. Earth was at most two hours away now, and we would be swarmed with communication out the ass soon despite the distance. What remained of Earth's fleet and Venlil Space Corps would likely rendezvous with us on the way, while Isif's fleet kept Earth safe.
"Fine. We'll talk about this later Red, but for now, just face the music and hope for the best. I'm sure humanity will care for you regardless, if you explain yourself as you did to me."
"Nemesis out." With that, the call ended, and I was left alone again in the front, with a cup of coffee that was slightly less warm than before. I likely had to make several hundred conversations in the upcoming hours.
Only have to be an envoy for a sapient warship to the entirety of humanity. Yep, just an easy thing to do, no sweat.
I dreaded the workload, but thankfully, coffee always had my back. I took a sip, and I just realized I tried to therapy said warship.
...I am so far in over my head.

There it was. Earth.
It was a mere 15 light minutes away, I could see Earth in stunning detail. Both its beauty...and its recent scars.
I delved into old records of geography, of city placements, matching the scorched pockmarks on the surface I could see to locations. If new cities hadn't been established at some of the other bombing sites, then most of these were targeted at population-dense cities.
At least sixty prior city locations could be seen from this angle of Earth. I hadn't gotten a number for how many died in the bombings from Hailey, with her not electing to tell me, and me not thinking to ask at the moment. But if population records were anything akin to UEC numbers...
Somewhere upwards of 670 million.
A burning rage emanated from my circuits again. The Federation would pay. None would dare touch humanity, when I'm done with them.
I could still see the massive scattering of scrap and disabled ships between the Moon and Earth from here. I had killed a lot of ships, and they neither had the time nor the power currently to remove most of it.
It did give me an idea however. I'll bring it up with their leadership.
And speaking of leadership, a medium sized-convoy of ships was burning their way to meet us, it seems. It must look awkward for me to be accelerating at them backwards, but with my configuration, this was my slowdown method. I recognized the group as mostly consisting of the human ships, with a few Venlil ships interspersed in the mix. Most did not break 200 meters in size, with only a few even looking remotely impressive or odd. I checked the IFF tags they beamed.
Amatzukaze-Kai, Shepherd, Duncan, Hera, Mokshi, Deep End, Holy...
The Venlil also had a separate batch of tags. Conveniently, they were translated in English.
Swiftwind, Solgalick's Glow, Emerald Fields, Stone of Old, Unfleeing, Cleansing Flame...
But the names mattered little compared to the hail that came next. A professional male voice emanated over the line:
"Welcome, UECNS Nemesis. This is the UNSS Gunboat Diplomacy speaking. I am U.N. General Míngzé Zhao, a pleasure to meet you."
"Likewise, General Míngzé Zhao. My designation is Red One. My sincere thanks for the help on returning to Earth."
"We can talk about that later. In the meantime, I'd suggest, if possible, to turn your attention to Earth. They'd like to thank you too, for your assistance."
Curious, I turned my attention to the slightly faint signals of Earth. From them, came a sudden gathering of voices, diverse and nearly countless in number.
"Thank you, Nemesis!"
"Thank you for saving Earth!"
"We deeply appreciate your timely help."
"Our family lives because of you. Thank you..."
"We love you!"
It was...not expected. When I went to Earth, I expected no fanfare, but instead a harsh judgement. To hear Hailey's intuition be right, that humanity was not unanimously angry and vengeful to my actions, was...was...

However, behind the buzz of positivity, I could still hear the lobbing of vitriol and fear my way. This was all too familiar. But...for once, to have it be the minority?

Hi there!
Thought I would share this ask with the community and see what you eggheads come up with.
I need to take a big amount of "meh" quality renders from blender and make them look a bit more photoreal. Ultimately they need to look like CCTV (I found some promising LoRas for that), but for now I just want to juej up the current renders to add more detail and bring it closer to photograph quality.
I'm handy enough with ComfyUI, but it seems like every week there is a new workflow, technique, and custom node, that I'm actually at a point of a bit of decision paralysis!
I've done this once before for images of birds - worked well, actually wound up tossing the RGB entirely and just using controlnet (depth/normal/canny processing from the RGB).
That said, people are a different ball of wax entirely.
I'm working with the following:
  • 1920x1080 renders coming out of blender, including:
    • Depth pass
    • Segmentation pass (not sure how to ingest this into a usable data format into ComfyUI for limiting inpainting to certain characters, but can cross that bridge later)
    • Can probably get some openpose pass too, if needed
Big questions:
  • SD1.5 or SDXL? I know controlnet is a bit iffy in XL, even with depth and canny.
  • Recommended downscale -> Upscale flow? I know 1920 x 1080 isn't native training resolution for either 1.5 or XL. I've seen the resolution cheat-sheets but would love to hear what people are doing. The pros of cons of 1.5 vs XL can be a bit complex as SDXL has better resolution, but controlnet isn't so hot.
  • The faces are getting pretty mangled with basic img2img - Facedetailer isn't really doing a great job either, probably because I'm feeding it images where the faces are in ~ 200 pixel bounding boxes, and I've not used it too much.
  • Any particular model recommendations? Most good models I've found are focused on up close, high-detail portraits.

TLDR: just curious what physical things yall have been diagnosed with? Not looking for a diagnosis, just rambling and seeing what things I may consider asking my doc about.
To preface: I am overweight and have been since I was a teen so it’s possible I’ve just worn my body down. But im only 28 so it still seems young to have so many problems. Currently slowly losing weight though so thats good.
I’ve been having more and more physical symptoms as I’ve gotten a little older. It’s a bit concerning. When I was 24, I would say my only real issues were fatigue, restless leg syndrome, and plantar fasciitis. Also some mild knee pain that would come and go.
As a teen, I had a weird “thing” with my leg that was never diagnosed but I did have physical therapy for it for a little while while in foster care. My knee would feel tight, I’d extend it all the way (further than most people can. I think I have some hyper mobility) and it would pop in the back, and then the pain would take my breath away. I’d have to wait it out for a few minutes. Dunno what that was.
Now im almost 29, so it’s only been a few years and im always googling things to try to figure out what’s going on. Hip pain, feels worse (tight, painful) after sitting. Hurts in bed too. SI joint pain for 5 years now. Sciatica comes and goes after having my baby.
I slipped on water recently, had to get stitches on my face, and they had to take a head and neck CT to make sure I didn’t hurt anything. The results were clear but they did list “mild arthritic stenosis in c4-c5” which went over to my primary. My neck is always stiff so that tracks. My doctor told me it was nothing to worry about.
I have had swollen lymph nodes in my neck since the beginning of December. The ultrasound showed no cysts or tumors & as far as I know my blood tests were also clear but they’re still swollen.
I’m back on thyroid hormones due to hypothyroidism and they’re working great. Lost 10 pounds in the first 3-4 weeks on them (water weight).
I’m just in chronic pain taking Tylenol or ibuprofen 5 or so days a week, with no explanation at this point. I can’t afford PT and I don’t want to get more scans at this time because im drowning in medical debt.
My psych eval doctor wrote “chronic pain” in my chart when I told him I took Tylenol every day but had been trying to lessen once I realized it was every day for months. I felt so validated when he described it as chronic.

2024.05.27 17:09 twissup Infection causing health to deteriorate quickly, I have tried to include as much detail my situation

23M, 5'10, 165lb, previously very healthy with no previous medical condition. I caught a flu about 6 weeks ago which totally knocked me out for a couple days, I was uncontrollably vomiting and had strong fever symptoms. As I was a very fit and active person, I rarely got sick or even suffered from headaches before this so I just prioritised rest and patiently waited for my health to recover. However since then I have only felt new and worse symptoms, stopping me from working and living properly.
After the fever subsided, it was intense fatigue and exhaustion(walking would even be too difficult) that I felt, with shooting and intense headaches focused mainly in the lower back of my head and neck, causing it to become very stiff. Initially I feared it might be meningitis but a visit to the GP and the fact that I could still move my neck despite the pain eased my worries. These pains continued for weeks and I was mostly bed bound during this time. I wanted to understand why I was having these symptoms and decided to get my blood work done to find any potential vitamin deficiencies. I have attached my results but it showed no clear deficiencies in regards to nutritional health.
Results of interest:
H pylori 3.75 u/ml Immunoglobulin E (IgE) 233.6 kU/I
I tried to pace myself and increase my activities, but any attempts would only cause me to feel lightheaded and dizzy and took a whole day to recover. I felt for a small while that I was making incremental improvements to return to previous health but the last two weeks have left me with very little hope.
Recently I began to feel nerve related pain that I have never felt before (numbness, tingling, firey pain) in my all my limbs and extend to my feet and hand including my neck and jaw. I have started to feel heart palpitations again severely that I have been to the GP for previously and after an ecg and echo said that it was non cardiac related. I also feel pain in my lymph nodes in the neck and groin area but no swelling can be seen. The neck pain has still remained but the headaches felt as though painful pressure was building up in my skull which would affect my hearing at times and I went to the ER to have this examined. A ct scan showed no damage to the brain and my blood work was fine again (only reported a low white blood cell count)so the doctors were happy to discharge me which was a massive relief. Also, I began having digestion issues which causes me to feel gas trapped in my esophagus area every-time I would eat anything (has triggered a few panic attacks for me also which I have also never felt before). The brain fog that I feel now has also become too intense, at times I struggle to conversate effectively when it is at is worst
I am trying to do everything I can to improve my health by maintaining my strict diet(restricting carbs and no sugar)+supplementing, resting through sufficient sleep, quitting caffine while pacing myself through walking where I can. The worst symptoms I am currently facing is the headaches and nerve pain as they limit me the most. After multiple visits to the ER and GP, they are unable to provide an explanation for what I am experiencing and wanted any advice on what I shall do at this point or what this might be. From trying to get a clearer idea online, I understand some people experience these similar prolonged effects after battling a virus (similar long covid) and this has had some effect on the vagus nerve system but unsure.
