The .22 Long Rifle rimfire cartridge (5.6×15mmR - metric designation) is a long established variety of ammunition, and in terms of units sold is still by far the most common in the world today. The cartridge is often referred to simply as .22 LR and various rifles, pistols, revolvers, and even some smoothbore shotguns have been manufactured in this caliber.

First piece
Picked up this weekend - I’ve always been partial towards the tool watch/pre-ceramic era, and the right combination of SEL, lug holes and original papers finally popped up on cpo for a fair deal.
I’ve always loved the sub and work in aviation, so the LN was a perfect middle ground.

2024.06.09 07:03 CatcherN7 .22 cal break barrel air rifle around $200?

I'll try to keep this short. I am currently residing in Alberta CANADA where there are piles of gophers. I am currently using a .177 cal 2100 classic pellet rifle. The bullets I am using are shown in the picture. I find that even with 10 pumps at 20 ft they don't die. I've had 3 gophers get shots right through the upper neck but they will still run around for about 2 minutes. I hate being gophers suffer. I figure that a .22 would work much better. I am looking for a air rifle, here us what I am looking for:
  1. Do not need fire arms license to buy/own
  2. Around $200 canadian dollars($145 US)
  3. Preferably break barrel since I am tired of pumping
  4. Shoots up to at least 25 yards
  5. I would like to have a scope but it is not a must
  6. Kills gophers with 1 shot and minimal suffering
Here is my current top runners for what I might get: https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/beeman-1022-dual-caliber-air-rifle-177-and-22-caliber-interchangeable-barrels-3750520p.html?loc=plp Or https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/marksman-break-barrel-177-caliber-air-rifle-with-4x32mm-scope-495-fps-3750519p.html?loc=plp

2024.06.09 01:52 Lotsofsalty My First CBG - 1926 Serie Padron

My First CBG - 1926 Serie Padron
I would like to share some pictures of my first Cigar Box Guitar. Here are some finished photos, followed by a few build photos. The box started as a 1926 Serie Padron from my Brother in Law who passed away. This was a tribute to him. The neck is Oak and the fret board is Mahogany, salvaged from hurricane fallen trees in South Florida. The wings on the head stock are also Mahogany, all covered over by the thin veneer that comes with the cigars in the box. The fret board markers are spent .22 caliber nickle plated shells (CCI Stinger), and the side markers are steel BB's inset and covered in clear epoxy. For a touch of added flair, the tassel on the head stock is the pull ribbon that comes in the cigar box.
All of the hardware is from C.B Gitty. There are two pickups; the magnetic pickup is the Snake Oil Mini Humbucker, and inside under the bridge is a 27mm round Piezo pickup. A 3-way switch allows selection of mag, piezo or both pickups. Their are separate volume control knobs for each pickup to balance, and the third knob is for controlling the tone of the mag pickup. The tail piece is a door striker. The strings are Southbound String Co. Blues Blasters in Low G (tuned GDG). The frets are Medium/Medium Nickle/Silver wire, except for the zero fret, which is the Jumbo Nickle/Silver.
The guitar sounds amazing, and it really surprised me how full of sound it is. Plug into the amp and she really comes alive. Blown away! I have started working on my second CBG, which will be a mini Stratocaster style body. I am a drummer, but I am using this CBG to learn some guitar. I am really enjoying it. More so than I ever anticipated. It's addictive, partly because it is so much easier to play than a 6-string. As Del would say, 6 strings are 3 strings to many, lol.
Hope you like the build. Cheers mates!

2024.06.08 18:49 No_Internet88 EXACT 556 Primer Review

EXACT 556 Primer Review
Consider this a Reddit PSA Review
Bought a 1,000 pc brick to try out since price was really good. I got a chance to get out to the range to test these primers.
Disclaimer: These are loads that have been slowly worked up and I have deemed them to be safe for my rifles. Do not go off these loads sine they are on the hot side. Work up your own loads for your rifles. I will not be responsible for anyone's stupidity.
The Test Subjects:
I picked 3 different loads that I have spent months and countless $ trying to perfect and have had good luck with. 2 calibers. 5.56 and 300 blk. I picked these particular loads because they use ball powders which are more finicky to primer and weather changes than extruded powders. These are all out of 16" barrel AR's.
Previous Testing:
  1. 556 - 77 gr TMK, 25.2 gr A2520 with Rem 7-1/2 Primers .850 MOA @ 100yds 4-16 scope
  2. 300BLK - 110 gr TAC TX, 20.2 gr W296, with Rem 7-1/2 Primers 1.25 MOA @ 100yds 4-16 scope
  3. 300BLK - 125 TNT, 19.2 gr W296, with CCI 400 Primers .880 MOA @ 100yds 4-16 scope
Todays Test:
Conditions:
88 degrees with what feels to be 300% humidity here in South Florida. Sweating my balls off. Not a comfortable range day to say the least.
* 5 shot groups. Both these rifles have been fitted with 1-6 LPVOs. I only use the 4-16 when I do load development.
1. 556 - 77 gr TMK, 25.2 gr A2520 with Rem 7-1/2 Primers 1.2 MOA @ 100yds 1-6 scope, 2602fps, SD 10.8, ES 29
556 - 77 gr TMK, 25.2 gr A2520 with EXT-556 Primers 1.1 MOA @ 100yds 1-6 scope, 2609fps, SD 5.3, ES 14
2. 300BLK - 110 gr TAC TX, 20.2 gr W296, with Rem 7-1/2 Primers 1.5 MOA @ 100yds 1-6 scope, 2,408fps, SD 10.2, ES 24
300BLK - 110 gr TAC TX, 20.2 gr W296, with EXT-556 Primers 1.4 MOA @ 100yds 1-6 scope, 2,462fps, SD 8.7, ES 22
3. 300BLK - 125 TNT, 19.2 gr W296, with CCI 400 Primers 1.3 MOA @ 100yds 1-6 scope, 2,285fps, SD 10.1, ES 23
300BLK - 125 TNT, 19.2 gr W296, with EXT-556 Primers 1.8 MOA @ 100yds 4-16 scope, 2,273fps, SD 12.2, ES 31
My Conclusions:
While doing load development for both the 556 and the 300blk, my experience has been that once I pass a certain threshold in grain quantity with both A2520 and W296 in these cartridges, a magnum primer does much better in velocity, SD, ES and a lot of times accuracy. Below that threshold however, a regular SR primer does better. Looking at the data above, I can only conclude that the EXT-556 acts like a magnum primer. I would say that it is comparable to the CCI #41. I will be trying these primers in 6.5 Grendel and 308 Win for which I have some Palma brass for next. For now, these primers get a thumbs up from me.
Love to hear your thoughts on these.

🔗Compact, Lightweight AR 10 Bipod with No Assembly Required

https://preview.redd.it/ibqhb4ybma5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc9c1ead6cc73af4248ce740d1aa03278d14b1d3
The Champion Bipod is a must-have for all AR 10 enthusiasts. I've been using it for a few months now, and it has definitely enhanced my firearm experience. Firstly, the bipod is incredibly easy to attach to the gun, with just a quick installation to the sling swivel stud. And, what I particularly love is that there's literally no assembly required, making it perfect for those who aren't handy with tools.
The telescoping legs are a major highlight. Their spring-load return means you can easily extend and retract the legs, ensuring quick and easy height adjustment. But, I do have to admit that while the bipod adds extra stability, it does make the gun feel a bit heavier.
However, despite its lightweight design, the bipod itself is surprisingly sturdy and durable. It's capable of handling the recoil of my AR 10 and maintaining its rigidity. It does lack the ability to swivel, though, which does make it somewhat limited in its flexibility.
Overall, the Champion Bipod is a solid purchase for anyone looking to add extra stability and precision to their rifle. Even though it does come with a few shortcomings, it still offers great value for money and performance.

🔗High-Quality HD-50 Bipod for 50 BMG Rifles

I recently tried the Accu-Tac HD-50 Bipod Black, and let me tell you, it's a sturdy and reliable companion for any shooting enthusiast. This bipod is specifically designed for heavy-duty rifles, with a center hub that offers great stability and strength. The larger arm lock lugs ensure it can withstand the recoil of a 50 BMG, which is definitely appreciated. One of the standout features for me was the ability to cant and the throw lever, which makes adjustments a breeze.
The only downside I encountered was that the product description didn't explicitly mention whether the bipod had the ability to cant or not. This left me to figure it out once I had the product in hand. But overall, I'm quite pleased with this sturdy, heavy-duty bipod that will be a trusty addition to my shooting gear.

🔗Adjustable Heavy Duty AR-10 Bipod with Precision Leg Locks

Imagine you're out on the range, adjusting the angle of your AR 10 on unpredictable terrain. As you take aim, you're grateful for the Tac Shield Heavy Duty Bi-Pod.
Its side-to-side swivel capabilities feel as natural as a seasoned shooter, and that quick adjustment lever? . A game-changer.
The precision leg locks offer a sure grip, no matter how uneven the surface. Its legs extend quickly and lock in place with an ease that's unmatched.
Even better are the grip caps on the bottom - they hold steady, providing the perfect rest for a steady shot. And, when it's time to retract, the spring return release buttons make it a breeze.
Now, you see why this Heavy Duty Bi-Pod has a 5-star rating. It's not just a tool, it's an essential part of your shooting experience.

🔗Swagger Hunter29 Bipod: Versatile AR 10 Bipod for Maximum Shooting Agility

I recently had the chance to try out the Swagger Hunter29 bipod, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The moment I assembled it, I was struck by its lightweight design, which weighed in at just 23.6 ounces.
One standout feature for me was the easy removal of the rubber foot to reveal the spiked foot, allowing me to dig into my terrain with ease. The leg design and internal updates from 2018 also impressed me, as they provided a much smoother shooting experience. The nitride finish on the springs and spring housing was a nice touch, adding an extra layer of durability.
As someone who appreciates versatility in their gear, I was excited to see that this bipod came with a reinforced bungee and a standard rifle adapter. Its compatibility with a wide range of shooting positions, from prone to seated to kneeling, added to my confidence in its performance.
Overall, the Swagger Hunter29 bipod proved to be a solid choice for hunters and shooters alike. Its ability to adapt to various terrains and obstacles helped me feel confident in my shots, and its lightweight design made it easy to carry along. While there may be some minor drawbacks to the setup process, the benefits of using this bipod far outweigh them. I wholeheartedly recommend the Swagger Hunter29 to anyone in search of a reliable and versatile shooting aid.

🔗Compact Featherweight AR 10 Bipod for Precision Hunting

I recently had the chance to try out the Advanced Technology Intl SKS Featherweight Non-Swivel Bipod, and I must say, it's a game changer for anyone looking for a reliable and lightweight bipod for their SKS rifle. The mounting system is a breeze, and it's securely attached to the bayonet lug with a push snap-n-lock button. Whether you need to fold the legs forward, rearward, or downward, this bipod has got you covered.
One of the standout features of this bipod is its adjustability. It can effortlessly be changed from 9" to 13", ensuring that you get the perfect angle for your shots. The non-slip rubber feet are a nice touch, helping to keep the bipod stable on any surface. I also appreciated that it's made of a weatherproof Dupont Extreme Temperature Glass Reinforced Polymer, ensuring it can withstand the elements.
While it's a bit on the heavier side, weighing in at a mere 6 Oz, it's still a solid choice for those looking for a sturdy and reliable bipod. The hardware included is a nice touch, and it's reassuring to know that it won't scratch, rust, or dent. Overall, I'd highly recommend this bipod to anyone looking to enhance their SKS shooting experience.

🔗Compact and Durable AR10 Bipod for Enhanced Stability and Easy Deployment

While out on a hunting trip, I found my AR-15 platform was in dire need of a sturdy bipod to help stabilize my shots. That's when I came across the F. A. B. Defense AR Podium, an AR 10 bipod that fit perfectly on my weapon. The sleek design of the F. A. B. Defense AR Podium grabbed my attention immediately, with its compact and no-protruding-parts structure.
The convenience of the rapid deployment mechanism, which operates by the simple push of a button, was a game-changer on the battlefield. This FDE bi-pod was steady and durable, offering a much-needed steadiness to my shots.
Despite being lightweight, the F. A. B. Defense AR Podium proved to be quite strong and reliable due to its reinforced polymer composite construction. It saved me valuable rail space too, allowing me to explore other mounting options.
Installation was a breeze, as it needed no Gunsmith to complete, and the model even includes the AGR-43 pistol grip and Podium bi-pod. All these features of this AR 10 bipod made it suitable for my hunting trips and added stability to my shots.
Of course, like any product, there were some drawbacks. I felt that the rail space could be saved even further, and the deployment mechanism could have been quicker to actuate. But overall, the F. A. B. Defense AR Podium made my hunting experience much more enjoyable and stabilizing.

In my daily quest for a reliable and durable bipod, I stumbled upon UTG's New Gen Reinforced Clamp-On Bipod Cent HT 6.2-6.7. With its robust steel components and high-tech aluminum construction, this bipod proved itself to be an exceptional addition to my firearm. The innovative adjustment wheel allowed me to accommodate a wide range of barrel sizes, while the fully adjustable legs provided a comfortable center height between 6.2 and 6.7 inches.
One of the standout features of this bipod was the sturdy folding legs, equipped with a unique Posi-Lock mechanism to prevent tipping. Additionally, the rubberized comfort stand feet provided a stable grip, ensuring that my firearm remained steady and safe. Overall, this UTG bipod has been a reliable and convenient companion during my outdoor adventures, and it's great to know that I got a solid product without breaking the bank.

As a fellow hunter, I recently had the chance to try out these Champion Bipods with cant & traverse, and I was quite impressed with the features they offered. The 9" to 13" horizontal rotation system proved to be a game-changer when it came to getting a steadfast hold on moving game. It's like having an extra set of eyes, as you can easily follow the game's movements without losing sight.
Though the rapid-adjust lever lock offers quick and easy positioning, I did notice that it could use some fine-tuning. However, I find the telescoping legs with spring return to be a fantastic addition, as they make it easy to attach to the sling swivel stud on your firearm. The steadiness of this bipod shines through, and it's not just for prone shots - it's also perfect for those benchrest or sitting situations.
For uneven terrain, the pivoting feature is a lifesaver. Though the product is made in China, its quality seems to mimic that of much higher-priced models. Overall, while there are some minor drawbacks, these bipods prove to be an excellent value for the price, and I'm sure they'll serve as an invaluable tool for hunters all around.

🔗Adjustable AR 10 Bipod with 60-degree Pan Movement

Recently, I tried out the FAB Defense Spike Tactical Bipod and let me tell you, it was a game-changer for my rifle setup. As someone who enjoys shooting at long distances, a bipod can make all the difference in keeping shots consistent and accurate.
One of the first things that stood out to me was its smart hybrid construction. It strikes the perfect balance between sturdiness and lightweight. This was amazing for me because I wanted a bipod that wouldn't slow me down while still offering stability.
The four locking leg positions were another major highlight. The flexibility to adjust the legs at 0, 45, 90, and 135 degrees allowed me to use it in different shooting situations with ease. I appreciated that it could be quickly adjusted for different heights and angles without any hassle.
The adjustable rotating head was another feature I loved. Its simple design ensured that my rifle remained steady, even when I needed to make quick changes on the fly. I also found the 60-degree pan movement and 20-degree tilt movement to be quite useful, providing me with a greater range of motion as I shot from various positions.
Despite loving most aspects of this bipod, there were a couple of drawbacks to mention. The first was that the legs, while sturdy, could feel a bit narrow at times, particularly when using heavy optics. The second was that extending or retracting them required a bit more force than I'd have expected, but that's a small price to pay for the overall stability this bipod provides.
Overall, the FAB Defense Spike Precision Bipod exceeded my expectations. It offers a sturdy build, is lightweight, and has features that make it a reliable and flexible addition to any rifle. Sure, there may be some minor drawbacks, but for the price range, it's a steal for shooters looking to improve their accuracy and make their shooting experience more enjoyable.

🔗Swagger Extreme Angle AR Bipod for Hunting Performance

https://preview.redd.it/bwx2uihfma5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=76de2a6eb0f0d0cb86d2c35585bdf68b261db915
This Swagger SEA12 Shooter Extreme Angle Bipod is a piece of equipment I've grown quite fond of lately. Picture this - I'm out in the wild, hunting for big game. With its 9-12 inch height adjustability, it provides a stable shooting platform for those critical moments, especially when dealing with those pesky angles.
What I particularly appreciate about this bipod is its overmolded flex-ready joint. It's like having an extra grip of confidence, knowing that my shot won't be compromised by the slightest wobble. And it's designed to be adaptable, so no matter the angle, you'll always have a steady hand.
It's not all smooth sailing though. As with any gadget, there's always a learning curve, and it took me a bit of time to get the hang of mounting it onto my Picatinny rail. But once I figured it out, it was game on.
All in all, if you're hunting or shooting in situations where angles play a significant role, this Swagger SEA12 Shooter Extreme Angle Bipod is a worthy investment. It's robust, reliable, and can be your companion through those thrilling moments in the wild.

🔗TraverseTrack Bipod for Sling Swivel Connection

https://preview.redd.it/avoez8vfma5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=421b450e585cf2f3f2e53aa93effdae7d018aa84
Lately, I've been using the Blackhawk Sportster TraverseTrack Bipod, and I must say, it's been quite a game changer for me. The bipod has been incredibly helpful during my practice sessions and even made life simpler while tracking my targets.
First and foremost, the sturdy all-metal construction of the bipod has been quite impressive. It carries a robust and durable vibe that makes me feel safe and confident while holding it. The tubular legs have always been steady, even when the targets started to move. Its horizontal traverse allows me to make smooth, steady movements with minimal effort.
What I've found particularly useful is the pivot action feature. It makes it seamless to level my gun when I'm shooting on uneven terrains, thus providing a dependable and consistent shooting experience without any hassle. The leg adjustment is just a breeze with the help of the rapid-adjust lever lock. The legs automatically return to their upright position whenever I need them to be, which has been a genuine relief.
The ability to attach this bipod to my sling swivel stud has also been a significant win. It's straightforward, and the convenience and maneuverability it brings into play are noteworthy.
However, despite these upsides, I've also had a few gripes. For one, I found the legs to be just a little too fragile at the locking tabs. I don't know if it's a manufacturing issue or if I just had bad luck, but both tabs broke within a week. I had to resort to using some blue loc tite to fix the issue, which was an inconvenience.
Secondly, I do wish the legs were a bit longer, to make it more suitable for my needs in certain shooting positions. The existing one sometimes feels a bit too short for what I had in mind.
Lastly, this one might just be a me thing, but I felt it could be a bit lighter, especially when carrying it around for long. It's not a major issue, but it would have been a pleasant addition for sure.
Overall, the Blackhawk Sportster TraverseTrack Bipod has been a valuable addition to my arsenal. It boasts of a number of convenient features that have significantly enhanced my shooting experience, but like any other mechanical contraption, not every aspect has been perfect.

🔗UTG Pro Recon 360 TL 7-9" MLOK Bipod: 360-Degree Swivel, Adjustable Height, and Nonslip Rubberized Foot Pads

https://preview.redd.it/rdwkcregma5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=863a254a424b66c9b89da47cdd976a66cb114c51
As a reviewer, I've been using the UTG Pro Recon bipod for a while now, and it has been quite an experience. I particularly enjoy the fact that it's adjustable both in height and swivel, allowing me to set up the most stable platform for my rifle.
The 3-position folding legs come in handy when I need to pack up quickly, and the lockable leg extensions ensure security. However, the rubber feet at the end of the legs do slip a bit on some surfaces, which can be quite annoying. Despite the minor inconvenience, the bipod has proven to be a reliable piece of gear, providing the stability and versatility I need for my shooting adventures.

🔗HD-50 Arca Spec QD Heavy Duty Bipod for 50 BMG Rifles

https://preview.redd.it/3cmapqpgma5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=412c86f962e052b228a368ed5f8ee36f7b2e9145
I recently had the pleasure of trying out the Accu-Tac HD-50 Arca Spec QD, a pretty impressive bipod designed for 50 BMG caliber rifles. I've used my fair share of bipods, but this one proved to be a real game-changer.
One of the most noticeable features was how sturdy and well-built the bipod felt. It had a firm lock and could handle even the heaviest recoil with ease. It also had a unique feature that allowed me to adjust the tension and lock in the canting motion, which gave me greater control and stability.
My only gripe was that it only had two positions - straight and stowed. I was expecting more options, especially with a bipod marketed as a versatile piece of equipment. However, that didn't stop me from appreciating its other features such as the nine height positions, the wide center hub for extra support, and the throw lever for easy adjustment.
This bipod proved to be a reliable companion during my shooting sessions, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a robust and efficient tool for their 50 BMG rifle. Despite my minor complaint, I must admit, the Accu-Tac HD-50 Arca Spec QD exceeded my expectations.

🔗Heavy Duty AR-10 Adjustable Swivel Bipod

I recently tried out the Tac Shield Heavy Duty Pivoting Bi-Pod, and honestly, it's been a game-changer in my shooting setup. The adjustable shooting heights make it perfect for uneven terrain, thanks to the pivoting design and quick adjustment pivot lever. The precision tension leg locks are a nice touch, ensuring a secure fit no matter what surface I'm on.
What really stood out to me, though, were the reinforced tension springs. These bad boys have made a significant difference when it comes to durability. I love how sturdy and reliable they feel, and I can tell that they're built to last. The ribbed grip caps on the bottom legs also add a touch of convenience, providing a steady and secure rest whenever I need it.
The spring assist leg retraction feature is fantastic too - it makes it incredibly easy to retract the legs, and the spring return release buttons ensure a quick and positive retraction every time. All in all, this Tac Shield Heavy Duty Pivoting Bi-Pod has definitely become a staple in my shooting gear. Highly recommended!

🔗Quick Draw OWB Holster for Firearm

https://preview.redd.it/ft5w2i3pha5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f9c01de31cf76e520385cf7d92fa39f7d6a1725
I recently started using the Quick Draw OWB Holster by Vedder Holsters, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The holster is made of luxurious premium leather and Kydex, which provides a perfect fit for my firearm. What stands out the most is how easy it is to conceal under a shirt or jacket since the holster keeps my firearm close to my side.
However, there were a couple of downsides to my experience. The belt loops feel a bit rough, and they seem to be a bit too durable for comfort, especially when sitting. Additionally, the balance seems to be off, and sometimes the grip of my firearm hangs out a bit too much. This makes for an uncomfortable carry and noticeable printing.
Overall, the Quick Draw holster is a high-quality product with some minor flaws. Despite these issues, the pros definitely outweigh the cons, making it a reliable choice for anyone looking for an outside the waistband holster.

🔗Galco Stow-N-Go J Frame Right Hand Black Holster for Optimal Security and Comfort

https://preview.redd.it/wvsmhkmpha5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d22ce358043f5d27a6c55541be9c1782cf0e830
I've had the chance to try out Galco's Stow-N-Go Smith & Wesson J Frame Right Hand Black Holster, and let me tell you, it has been a delightful experience. As someone who carries their handgun regularly, comfort is a top priority. This holster checks all the boxes with its Center Cut Steerhide material which is not only durable but also soft and comfortable against my skin.
One of the standout features for me was the reinforced mouth. It allows for a smooth and easy return to the holster while also enabling a very fast draw. The open top design further enhances this experience, making it a breeze to access my weapon when needed.
The sturdy injection-molded nylon clip is great for securing the holster onto my belt, providing peace of mind that it won't fall off or shift during daily activities.
However, there's always room for improvement. One potential downside, at least for some users, might be that it only fits belts up to 1 3/4". Also, depending on the size of your firearm, you may find that it doesn't fully cover the trigger guard, which could be a safety concern for some.
Overall, I've been pleasantly surprised by the Galco Stow-N-Go Holster. It offers a great combination of comfort, performance, and affordability. Despite the minor drawbacks, I'm confident that many users will find this holster to be a reliable and comfortable option for concealed carry.

🔗Secure, Durable T-Series Gun Holster: Truck Gun Holder

https://preview.redd.it/cdvx7qzpha5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=850334a2b688535a868940991a41ae041d26bd60
As a seasoned gun enthusiast, the T-Series Holster has been a vital addition to my collection. The thumb-activated retention makes it easy to draw my weapon, following the Master Grip Principle for added security. What really stands out, though, is the low-friction material used internally that allows for a smooth and effortless draw every time.
While sturdy and reliable, I noticed that the additional retention strap over the back of the slide felt a bit unnecessary at times. This, however, doesn't take away from the overall experience. Another noteworthy feature is the holster's sleek design, made of durable material that provides some much-needed protection while still keeping some bulk to a minimum.
The added bonus of the jacket-slot belt loop attached to the holster is truly appreciated, as it enhances the convenience and ease of use. However, I wish the QDR and 2-slot belt loop were included for a more complete package. Nonetheless, the T-Series Holster remains a top-notch choice for any discerning gun owner looking for a reliable and secure hold on their firearm.

🔗Vintage Leather Western Holster for Large-Caliber Guns

https://preview.redd.it/8fwtmreqha5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6a4c3b8119e7e8aa8339ee90634e39e18ba2a06
I've had the pleasure of using this deluxe western holster for a few months now, and let me tell you, it's an essential accessory for any cowboy worth his salt. The thick, tooled tan leather exudes the classic charm of the Old West, and it leaves no doubt about its craftsmanship. The holster is lined with. 45 caliber cartridge loops, which makes it a perfect companion for your favorite Heritage Rough Rider 22.
While wearing this holster, I've found that the fit is comfortable and snug, thanks to its well-designed structure. However, I have noticed that the construction could be a bit more robust, as I experienced some scuffs and wear on the leather after prolonged use.
Overall, this Deluxe Tooled Tan Leather Western Holster is a fantastic choice for the rugged cowboy in all of us, but it might not be the most durable option available for those looking to last a lifetime. Nonetheless, using this holster only enhances the feeling of authenticity and freedom, making it an asset in any cowboy's arsenal.

🔗High-Quality Black 5-inch Quick Draw 1911 Holster for Colt Govt

https://preview.redd.it/q16g3mqqha5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5aec65d994afef2186a26b42dec090491f928864
As a daily gun carrier, I've tried my fair share of holsters, and the Tagua PD2 Quick Draw 1911 5-inch Right Hand Black Holster has definitely stood out. The premium high-quality leather used to craft it feels fantastic, and the double stitching adds an extra layer of durability. The holster's quick draw style makes carrying and accessing my weapon a breeze, and the smooth re-holstering ensures it's just as easy to slip back in place.
One of the standout features is the rotating paddle, which allows for a 360-degree range of motion to find the most comfortable drawing angle for me. This customization is a game-changer for anyone looking for the perfect fit. Additionally, the open top and bottom design allow the holster to accommodate multiple barrel sizes, providing versatility for gun owners with different models.
That being said, the only downside I found was that the holster is specific to the right hand, which might be limiting for left-handed users. Overall, the Tagua PD2 Quick Draw 1911 5-inch Right Hand Black Holster has been a reliable and efficient choice for my open carry needs.

🔗Versatile Speed Master 2.0 Paddle Belt Holster

https://preview.redd.it/21yjx84rha5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=efe90b0bcd40bcf1e9d7e533bec4ae846259af60
As someone who frequently wears a holster, I appreciate the versatility and convenience that the Galco Speed Master 2.0 offers. I've found that the adjustable tension unit and interchangeable belt slot and paddle attachments make this holster highly customizable, ensuring that it fits my needs perfectly. I particularly enjoy the open top design and the covered trigger, which provide both speed and safety.
One of the features that really stands out to me is the hand molding for excellent retention, which ensures that my gun remains securely in place. However, I did notice that the fit can be a bit snug for gun belts wider than 1 3/4 inches, so it's something to consider. All in all, the Speed Master 2.0 is a reliable and functional holster that has made a significant difference in my daily life.

🔗Secure Level 3 Retention Holster for Sig P320 with Light and Micro Red Dot Sight

https://preview.redd.it/dtq22frrha5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=49854b03582a47b6df213f713fbf4062500b2bce
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Rapid Force Lvl 3 Holster with my trusty Sig P320. As someone who constantly has to be on the move and ready to protect and serve, I needed a holster that could keep up with my fast-paced life.
One of the standout features of this holster is its compatibility with a wide range of popular full-size lights, such as the Surefire X300, Streamlight TLR-1, Modlite, and Inforce. This allowed me to have a reliable and secure setup for my gun, providing me with the confidence I needed in any situation. The holster also offered a secure Level 3 retention to ensure my firearm wouldn't accidentally be drawn during movement or while on duty.
However, one aspect I found slightly challenging was the fit for my Sig P320 with a light and micro red dot sight, as it took some effort to get the holster positioned correctly. Nevertheless, once it was in place, it provided a smooth and fast draw, allowing me to be prepared for any emergency. The holster's durability was also commendable, holding up well against the everyday rough handling my job entails.
Overall, the Rapid Force Lvl 3 Holster is a reliable and versatile option for firearm enthusiasts or those who need to be ready at a moment's notice. Its compatibility with various lights and adjustable retention make it a valuable addition to any security setup.

🔗Classic M1873 Western Fast Draw Revolver Holster

As a history enthusiast, I recently came across this M1873 Western Fast Draw Revolver Holster and felt compelled to give it a try. This classic holster, crafted right here in the USA, certainly did not disappoint. The rich, genuine leather that the holster is made of lends an air of sophistication, while its white stitching along the rear edge adds a charming touch. The M1873 works seamlessly with barrel lengths of 4.75 inches and 5.5 inches.
One downside, however, is that the belt needed to use this holster is sold separately. This meant that I had to go hunting around for the perfect belt to pair with it, making the overall experience a bit more complicated than it needed to be.
That being said, once I had the holster and belt all set up, I found that it was a perfect fit for my M1873. The holster held the gun securely in place, but was still easy to draw. Overall, it's a great choice for anyone looking to add a touch of the Wild West to their collection.

In my experience, the Tagua Gunleather TX LCEP BH2 holster was a game-changer for me as a right-handed shooter. The quick draw feature made it super easy to grab my 1911 with the 5-inch barrel, and the lock retention system gave me peace of mind knowing my gun was secure.
The open bottom design was perfect for my threaded barrel or suppressor height front sights. Although it might not be the holster for everyone, it certainly made a difference in my gun-carrying routine.

I recently had the chance to try the Rapid Force Level 3 P320 holster, and let me tell you, it's a game changer for those looking to keep their firearms safe and secure. The holster's compatibility with popular full-size lights, such as the Surefire X300 and Streamlight TLR-1, is a major highlight.
One of the things that stood out to me during my testing was the Level 3 retention, which provides an extra layer of security, giving me peace of mind. And the fast, intuitive draw makes it easy for me to be ready and respond when the situation calls for it.
However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The holster's basketweave finish, while aesthetically pleasing, can be a bit difficult to clean, and the fit isn't perfect for all Sig P320 models. Overall, the Rapid Force is a reliable and practical option that I believe will serve active law enforcement and military personnel well.

The Canik TP9SFx OWB Quick Release Paddle Holster is a must-have accessory for gun enthusiasts who value both style and functionality. This versatile holster is designed to provide the perfect balance of flexibility and security, while offering a seamless user experience.
During my time testing the holster, I was particularly impressed by its quick-release feature, which allowed me to easily swap out my firearm with minimal hassle. The paddle attachment offered an optimal level of comfort, making it suitable for both short and long periods of wear.
One of the standout features of this holster is its competition-cut design, which ensures lightning-fast draws and slide-mounted optic compatibility. This made it a reliable option for those looking to take their shooting skills to the next level.
However, one area where the holster could improve is in its compatibility with a wider range of firearms, as it is specifically designed for the Canik TP9SFx. Additionally, some users may find the paddle attachment a bit cumbersome when switching between clothing or environments.
Overall, the Canik TP9SFx OWB Quick Release Paddle Holster is an excellent choice for gun enthusiasts who value quick, reliable access to their firearms. While there are some minor drawbacks, the benefits far outweigh the negatives, making this holster a worthwhile investment for those looking to streamline their shooting experience.

🔗Secure Level 3 Retention Holster for P320 Carry/Compact/X Compact 9/40 with Micro Red Dot Sight

When I first heard about the Rapid Force Lvl 3 P320C MRDS QDS Blk, I was intrigued by its reputation as a reliable and easy-to-use duty holster for law enforcement personnel and military members. As a reviewer who has had the opportunity to test it in everyday life, I must say it doesn't disappoint.
The level 3 retention feature, designed to keep the firearm secure without requiring you to re-holster, is a true standout. The fast and intuitive draw mechanism adds a layer of efficiency to your work, making it easier and quicker to withdraw your weapon when needed. Additionally, the extreme durability of the holster assures you that it will withstand the rigors of your job.
However, there's a little caveat. The fit of the Rapid Force Lvl 3 P320C MRDS QDS Blk is quite specific to the right hand, which may not suit every individual as seamlessly as I find it. Nevertheless, with its exceptional features and solid built quality, I definitely recommend this duty holster for those seeking a reliable and speedy solution in their line of duty.

I recently tried out the Denix MD Single Draw Holster in my daily life and it was a game-changer. The medium size fit just right and the black leather construction gave it a sleek, professional look. The right side single draw style made it easy to access my weapon quickly in case of an emergency, which was a major plus.
However, one drawback I noticed was that the holster was a bit bulkier than I would have liked, but it was still manageable. Overall, the Denix MD Single Draw Holster has become an essential part of my daily carry and I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable and stylish holster.

Buyer's Guide

When it comes to fast draw holsters, there are various factors to consider to ensure the best possible experience when drawing your firearm. This guide will detail important features, considerations, and advice for choosing the right fast draw holster for your needs.

Material and Construction

The material and construction of a fast draw holster play a significant role in its durability, functionality, and overall performance. Common materials include leather, Kydex, and nylon. Leather holsters offer a traditional look and feel, while Kydex holsters are known for their rigidity and resistance to wear. Nylon holsters may be more cost-effective but may not offer the same level of durability as leather or Kydex.

Retention and Release System

A good fast draw holster should have a secure retention system to prevent the firearm from falling out when not in use. At the same time, it should facilitate a smooth and quick release when you need to draw your gun. Look for holsters with adjustable tension to find the perfect balance between retention and ease of use.

Comfort and Fit

A comfortable fit is crucial for a fast draw holster. Make sure the holster conforms to the shape of your firearm and can be securely attached to your belt or waistband. Adjustable straps and belt loops can help ensure a proper and comfortable fit.

Type of Firearm

Consider the type of firearm you will be using with the holster. Some holsters are designed for specific firearms, while others are more versatile. Look for a holster that is compatible with the make and model of your gun to ensure a proper fit and optimal performance.

Draw Techniques

Fast draw holsters are designed to facilitate quick and efficient drawing techniques. Research various drawing techniques and choose a holster that supports the method you prefer. Some holsters may be better suited for stronger draw techniques, while others may be more suitable for smoother, more controlled draws.

Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance and care are essential for ensuring the longevity and performance of your fast draw holster. Frequent cleaning and conditioning can help maintain the holster's quality and prevent wear and tear. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for specific care recommendations.

Brand Reputation and Customer Reviews

When purchasing a fast draw holster, it is essential to consider the brand's reputation and customer reviews. Do some research to find holsters from reputable and trusted brands. Look for customer reviews to gauge the holster's performance and quality in real-world situations.

Price Point

Fast draw holsters come in a wide range of prices. Determine your budget and look for holsters that offer the best value for the features and performance you require.
When shopping for a fast draw holster, consider the material and construction, retention and release system, comfort and fit, compatibility with your firearm, drawing techniques, maintenance and care, brand reputation, and price point. 2024.06.07 22:12 bad_chacka NBA free agency: Teams that could make big offseason moves Bobby Marks

https://www.espn.com/nba/insidestory/_/id/40292219/2024-nba-offseason-sleeper-teams-free-agency-make-big-moves-soon
Not much here but I thought you might want to read the Spurs portion of this paywalled ESPN+ article.
"I don't pretend to know what we're going to do. We have a lot of possibilities ahead of us, whether it's [having] money in the bank or draft picks or being creative tradewise. All those things are on the table. But aren't they for every team? I don't know why we're any different. We're just younger." -- coach Gregg Popovich, March 2024
Reigning Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama puts the Spurs in a different category than most of the teams on this list.
Year 2 of the Wembanyama era begins in San Antonio with a heightened awareness that winning 22 games and finishing at the bottom of the Western Conference is not acceptable with a player of his caliber on the roster.
How the roster improves will come down to whether management is willing to accelerate the rebuild this offseason and not next summer, when the Spurs could have up to four first-round picks and $50 million in cap space.
One scenario in which San Antonio could improve now but not strip its flexibility is to sign veteran point guard Tyus Jones and then look to trade for Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram.
A starting five of Jones, Devin Vassell, Ingram, Jeremy Sochan and Wembanyama, along with two first-round picks in the top eight (if both are kept), is a strong foundation to build on.
Trade we would like to see: Keldon Johnson, Zach Collins, 2025 Chicago first (top-8 protected), 2027 Atlanta first (top-5 protected) to New Orleans for Ingram
Starters under contract: Jones, Vassell, Sochan, Wembanyama and Keldon Johnson
Reserves under contract: Collins, Malaki Branham, Devonte' Graham, Julian Champagnie, Blake Wesley, Sidy Cissoko and Charles BasseyFree agents: Cedi Osman, Dominick Barlow and Sandro Mamukelashvili
Incoming first-round picks (13):
Swap rights: Atlanta (2026), Boston Celtics (2028, top-1 protected) and Dallas Mavericks (2030)

2024.06.07 20:24 Bo-vice Recommendations for a beginner 100yrd+ scope?

Good morning,
I hope this is an appropriate sub to ask for help on this; if not, any suggestions on where to post would be great.
I am relatively new to ranged rifle shooting, but I have a new Ruger American Ranch Gen II heading my way chambered in 5.56. The local range I shoot at maxes at 100yards, which is where I'd like to become proficient.
Now I know there are scopes anywhere from $100 to $3000, and I know that more money generally means more better; but for the sake of my newness, I'd like to stay around 200 or so if possible/reasonable. I am not very familiar with brands/specs outside of some big names like vortex, trijicon, leupold, etc. and I have a basic knowledge of what I think I want/need.
For this distance and potentially more in the future, I feel like something in the 4-12x magnification would suffice(?). I also understand that the size of the objective lens makes a difference as well in clarity, brightness, FOV, etc. With that in mind, I have found a couple in my price range that seem decent, but I would love some second opinions or suggestions.
Vortex Crossfire II AO 4-12x50mm - $199 at optics planet with $25 off for fathers day
Mueller Optics Eraticator 8.5-25x50mm - $218 at optics planet
Sig Sauer Whiskey3 4-12x50mm - $194 at optics planet + $15 off
Athon Optics Neos 6-18x44mm red Illuminated BDC 500 - $189 + $15 off
Athon Optics Neos 6-18x44mm Center X (non-illuminated) - $159 + $15 off
I am really just basing these off of spec + rating though, so I could be off base here on these. 50mm obj lens seems like a good choice, but there are also plenty of 40s and 44s with similar magnification. I also understand that bigger lens lets in more light, which can be helpful in low light conditions, but I don't really plan on shooting during the evenings if that matters.
Lastly - scope rings. I bought a set of Vortex Med rings for my 22 a while ago for $18 and they have been perfectly fine. I've seen rings with essentially the same spec range from $20 to $120. I understand higher caliber rifles have more recoil/movement and solid rings are important to keep your zero'd scope in place, but is there anything wrong with these for a 556 rifle?
https://a.co/d/b049kSZ
If you've made it this far, I appreciate you reading through and giving this newbie some advice. Looking forward to many years of enjoyable target shooting in the future.

2024.06.07 18:16 __Mac__ Defending the Draft 2024: Atlanta Falcons

Defending the Draft 2024: Atlanta Falcons
2023 was a wild ride, and we were somehow in playoff contention until close to the end of the season. Ultimately after a blowout loss to end the season against the Saints, we fired Arthur Smith and moved on to our new Head Coach Raheem Morris. Morris has been a Head Coach before in Tampa Bay with a record of 17-31 back in 2009-11. Also from the Rams where Raheem was last year, at OC the Falcons hired one of the most highly sought after candidates from the Rams in Zac Robinson. Bijan recently described Zac Robinson's upcoming offense to be run-first in a way the 49ers use CMC. The Falcons new DC Jimmy Lake also has ties with Raheem Morris, they were together in Tampa for years and have worked closely together when Lake was Morris' DB assistant, and again when Morris was named Head Coach. There will be a lot of chemistry with our new coaching staff from the get go which is exciting to see.
Free Agency:
PLAYERS IN/RE-SIGNED
QB Kirk Cousins (UFA, Former Vikings): 4-year $180M deal (100m guarantee). Can be cut after 2 years, with 12.5M due in 2026 & 2027.
LB Nate Landman (re-signed): 1-year $870,000. Played very well after a season ending injury to Troy Anderson last season.
OL Ryan Neuzil (re-signed): 1-year $985,000.
LS Liam McCullough (re-signed): 1-year $985,000.
TE Charlie Woerner (49ers): 3-year $12M.
WR Darnell Mooney (Bears): 3-year, $39M.
WR Rondale Moore (Cardinals): Trade with the Cardinals, gave up Desmond Ridder. Big blow to our Desbian fanbase.
WR Ray-Ray McCloud (49ers): 2-year, $6m.
WR KhaDarel Hodge (re-signed): 1-year deal.
OL Storm Norton (re-signed): 1-year deal.
DL Kentavius Street (re-signed): 1-year deal.
CB Antonio Hamilton (Cardinals)
PLAYERS OUT
QB Desmond Ridder: Traded to Cardinals for Rondale Moore.
CB Jeff Okudah: 1-year deal with Houston Texans up to $6 million max value.
OL Matt Hennessy: 1-year deal with Philadelphia Eagles
WR Mack Hollins: Signs with the Bills.
WR Scotty Miller: Signs with Steelers.
TE Jonnu Smith: 2-year deal with the Dolphins.
QB Desmond Ridder: Traded to the Cardinals for WR Rondale Moore.
WR Van Jefferson: 1-year deal with the Steelers.
RB Cordarrelle Patterson
TE MyCole Pruitt Signed with Steelers
DL Calais Campbell
DL Joe Gaziano
OLB Bud Dupree Signed with Chargers
Going into the Draft the main areas of need were: CB, WR, EDGE, OL depth. For CB we have AJ Terrell who is an excellent #1 CB, but we were struggling to see who would take over opposite him. This year was touted as a very talented and deep WR class, so many Falcons fans had ideas of maybe going WR in the second or third round, maybe even the first. Most mock drafters had us taking an EDGE in the first as that is our biggest need. It makes sense, the way the draft boards were looking, we should get to pick the first defensive player of the draft, but then..
Draft
Michael Penix Jr.: QB, Washington
RAS: 9.75, 6’ 2’’ 216 lbs 33 5/8’’ 10 1/2’’ 36.5 inch vert, 4.46 40 (pro day)
Here we are, and I can't lie to you guys, when this pick came through, I was as speechless as everyone else. There's a lot of obvious reasons to be completely confused by this pick at first, but looking at our current contracts and what we've been through the past 2 years post-Matt Ryan, there's a lot of reasons to think this could also turn out to be the best pick we could make that could set us up for 10-15 years down the road.
The main criticism with this pick comes down to the fact we just signed Kirk Cousins to a 4 year 180M (100M Guaranteed) contract. Looking at those numbers is pretty intimidating at first glance, however, this contract essentially is a 2 year deal where we can cut Kirk after 2 years and only owe 12.5M in each of 2026 and 2027. This is the price of having good QB play, especially through Free Agency. The question is if it is worth it to have Penix sit behind Kirk for 2 years? The Falcons want to win now AND win later. There's no saying when we'll have another opportunity to pick a player of Penix's caliber without giving up a lot of assets in the process. If Penix ends up playing as a franchise QB, this pick could save us year(s) of bad QB play after Kirk and potentially future valuable assets, all that matters is if Penix can play at a high level at the end of the day when his number is called.
The Falcons have been very lucky when it comes to QB's overall, but the past 2 seasons with Mariota, Ridder and Heinicke, it gave our owner Arthur Blank and GM Terry Fontenot a taste of what truly bad QB play can do to your team and fanbase. We do not want to go through a journeyman QB again. And that's the ultimate logic behind this pick. Sure, Kirk will play and probably play very well, but we need a succession plan in place now to avoid what we have witnessed from happening ever again.
You win or lose by the level of QB play you have in this league. This is something our new Head Coach Raheem Morris is very familiar with. During his first stint as a Head Coach in Tampa where he went 17-31, there are many factors including the GM/ownership's willingness to spend in free agency, but his QB play is ultimately what cost him from continuing as a Head Coach for Tampa Bay. During Morris' 3 years as Head Coach his QB play combined with injuries went:
2009: 3-13 record, 18 TD's, 29 INT's, 3134 yards passing, 53% completion
2010: 10-6 record, 26 TD's, 6 INT's, 3564 yards passing, 61.9% completion
2011: 4-12 record, 17 TD's, 24 INT's, 3838 yards passing, 62.1% completion
With this context of the history of Morris, combined with the Falcons most recent QB history, the Michael Penix Jr. pick makes more sense than meets the eye initially. Morris did just that, won and lost by his level of QB play, which ultimately cost him his job, something he wants to make sure will not happen this time around, nor does Blank want to see again. I believe ownership, GM and Head Coach were all on the same page making sure we won't miss a beat with this move, and are excited for the years to come.
Ruke Orhorhoro, DL, Clemson:
RAS: 9.90, 6’ 4’’ 294 lbs arm 34’’ hand 9 3/8’’ 40 yard dash 4.89, 32’’ vert, 9’ 8’’ broad, 10 yard split 1.67, bench 29
TRADE! We trade up while giving up one of our 3rd round picks this year. Initially when we made this trade I figured it would be for a WR or CB, however with this pick we are also looking towards the future. Right now we have Grady and Onyemata on the DL, both are fantastic players, but both are also getting older and have had recent injury history. This will be a theme in this draft to address our DL depth and not miss a step in this upcoming season if anything similar were to happen again. Ruke is a very athletically gifted DT, scoring a 9.90 RAS. This is ranked 17/1620 since 1987. Could be one of the best run stopping DT's in this years draft. 34'' arms will be an advantage, the question will be can he refine his pass rush. Our front office clearly likes that potential and was willing to jump the rest of the teams before the rush of DT picks went right after our trade up. We got our guy.
Bralen Trice, EDGE, Washinton:
RAS: 7.49, height 6’ 3 1/2’’, weight 245 lbs, arm 32 1/2’’, 40 yard 4.72, 10 yard 1.65
This is the pick I personally am most excited about. Reuniting with the Falcons new DC Jimmy Lake, Trice called him "One of the most important coaches in my career."
Our current pass rushing core going into the draft includes Zach Harrison, Arnold Ebiketie, and Lorenzo Carter. Theres is some upside with Harrison and Ebiketie, maybe more snaps and another year under their belt will help this year, but at the end of the day they ended last season with 3 sacks and 6 sacks respectively. We had to address the pass rush this draft. Enter Bralen Trice:
Last season he finished as the No. 1 player in the FBS in pressures with 78, and #1 in 2022 with 70. Trice had some issues finishing the play, however he got to the quarterback more than anyone else in FBS consistently. The one concern I see the most would be his weight. He played at 270 last season, and from my understanding, began losing his weight throughout the season. Fast forward to the combine and he shows up at 245 lbs. Still, at the end of the day I think his ability to get in the backfield consistently is what matters most.
Brandon Dorlus, DL, Oregon:
RAS: 8.66, 6’ 3’’, weight 283 lbs, arm 33 1/4’’, 40 yard 4.85, 10 yard 1.68, vert 30.5’’, broad 9’ 3’’, 3 cone 7.43
Personally excited for this pick as well. I see a lot of high IQ plays constantly keeping his eyes on the QB, always looking to bat down passes. Very aware of his role in the system, and finishes when given the chance. Has the ability to win at the point of attack when he isn't being doubled. He is a bit on the smaller side, which could lead to more versatile usage. Finished last season in 14 games 25 total tackles, 6.5 TFL, 5 sacks. He will go down as one of the more intriguing draft picks in this class for the Falcons.
JD Bertrand, LB, Notre Dame:
6’ 1’’, Weight 235 lbs, arm 31''
Solid hard hitting MLB out of Notre Dame, this will be great depth behind Kaden Ellis and Troy Anderson/Nate Landman. Team captain, led the Irish in tackles as a sophomore, junior and senior. Born in Alpharetta, Ga, so he'll be staying home!
Jase McClellan, RB, Alabama:
5’ 10’’, 221 lbs, bench 20
It is the 6th round, but this pick came as a bit of a shock to most falcons fans. We have Bijan, Allgeier and Avery Williams. Will be in competition with Avery Williams for that 3rd RB spot. 4.9 Y/R, only fumbled 1 time in 400 carries, could be a good returner option with the new rules.
Casey Washington, WR, Illinois:
RAS: 7.15, 6’ 1’’, 197 lbs, 40 4.46, 10 yard 1.57, 3 cone 7.39, broad 10'7'', vert 39.5, 13 bench
We got our WR! His pro day seemed to help him, Casey is a very explosive player with good size, reliable high point jump ball receiver. Known as a great blocker, which is very important in our system this upcoming year, I assume we will be a run heavy offense if Bijan is right. In his career at Illinois he had 122 receptions for 1,508 yards in a run heavy offense himself. Had a phenomenal last game going for 218 yards, 9 receptions and 3 TD's. We have found our Puka in this years draft.
Zion Logue, DL, Georgia:
RAS: 8.22, 6’ 6’’, 314 lbs, arm 33 1/2’’, 40 5.14, 1.82 10 yard, vert 29’’, broad 9’ 1’’
Big bodied DT, outside of the 2 previous interior DL we get someone who can really beef up the DL. The Falcons finish off their draft with a third interior DL. It was clearly a plan of attack for this draft. Only 1 year starter at Georgia, but the upside is clearly there. In 2023, he played in all 14 games and recorded career highs in tackles (17), tackles for loss (3) and passes defensed (2), in addition to a half sack.

2024.06.07 15:41 GlueGuy00 Givony updated Big Board with Intel

https://www.espn.ph/nba/insidestory/_/id/38788364/2024-nba-draft-rankings-espn-top-25-prospects

1. Zaccharie Risacher SF Bourg (France)

We'll see how wide of a net Risacher elects to cast in NBA team workouts with fairly limited time at his disposal and coming off a long season. Most teams don't expect him to be available in the draft past No. 4, when the San Antonio Spurs pick, so the Atlanta Hawks (No. 1 pick) and Washington (No. 2 pick) are looking like increasingly strong options.
  1. Alex Sarr PF/C Perth (Australia)
  2. Donovan Clingan C UConn
Clingan isn't expected to drop past the Portland Trail Blazers at No. 7, whom he just visited for a private workout as well. He is being discussed among teams as a possible target for the likes of Chicago, Memphis, Oklahoma City or Utah, who all might explore trading up for a player in his mold. His youth, productivity, touch and instincts on both ends of the court give him a high floor and make him a sleeper candidate to hear his name called at No.
  1. Reed Sheppard PG/SG Kentucky
Sheppard's range appears somewhat narrow at this stage, and his draft positioning likely begins at No. 3, with the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets all viable landing spots early on. If Sheppard falls out of the top five, which might hinge to an extent on potential teams trading picks -- he'd be a strong fit with the Hornets at No. 6 as a complement to their young core.
  1. Matas Buzelis SF/PF G League Ignite
Sources say Buzelis' hometown team, the Chicago Bulls, watched him work out privately in Los Angeles early in the pre-draft process. Chicago has shown a willingness to explore moving up in the draft for the right price. The Bulls' Lithuanian president, Arturas Karnisovas, has extensive knowledge of Buzelis, who is also Lithuanian.
  1. Stephon Castle PG/SG UConn
It has been difficult for NBA teams to schedule Castle on the workout circuit, so it remains to be seen exactly where that will land him on draft night. He has been most strongly connected to San Antonio, but if the Spurs go a different direction with their two first-round picks, there will be suitors elsewhere in the top 10, with a potentially strong fit in the Utah Jazz.
  1. Rob Dillingham PG Kentucky
Dillingham is nearing a mid-month return from the ankle injury that has disrupted his pre-draft process, sources say, likely leaving him time for only a handful of workouts before June 26. He's in the conversation for every team drafting in the top 10 that is in the market for a point guard, but he might need some trade scenarios to come to fruition to aid his cause on draft night.
  1. Dalton Knecht SF Tennessee
Knecht has positioned himself pretty firmly as a mid-lottery pick, drawing strong interest from Charlotte, Portland, San Antonio, Memphis and Utah in the Nos. 6-10 range.
  1. Tidjane Salaun PF Cholet
Salaun's measurements -- 6-10 in shoes, 217 pounds with a near 7-2 wingspan and 9-2 standing reach, indicate he has the potential to play some small-ball 5 down the road as his frame fills out, with comparable dimensions to NBA players such as Daniel Gafford or Kevon Looney at the same age. He is expected to be targeted by many of the teams picking in the Nos. 4-14 range, with workouts ultimately determining where he lands.
  1. Nikola Topic PG Red Star (Adriatic League)
The extent of Topic's recovery process will be determined by specialists in the U.S., but it will not be surprising if he will require a redshirt season -- similar to how Chet Holmgren, Joel Embiid, Michael Porter Jr. or Blake Griffin started their NBA careers. San Antonio (No. 8), Utah (No. 10), Oklahoma City (No. 12) and Portland (No. 14) are viewed by teams as potential landing spots depending on team doctors' full assessments of his medicals, which have yet to be distributed. Only teams picking in the top 15 will have access to those, per new CBA rules.
  1. Ron Holland SF G League Ignite
Holland's range appears to be a little wider than initially thought. He has fans among teams drafting in the top 10 but is casting a fairly wide net in workouts, including teams such as the Miami Heat at No. 15 and the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 17, in part because of his strong positional fit in those attractive markets. Holland's game might not be best-suited for a workout setting with his streaky jumper, especially with many lottery candidates opting for one-on-zeros, which means he'll have to find other ways to impress NBA teams with his toughness and aggressiveness. Teams say they are having a somewhat difficult time pegging his floor.
  1. Cody Williams SG/SF Colorado
At this stage, Williams' range would appear to be among the widest of our projected lottery prospects. He has interest from teams in the top 10, including Detroit, Charlotte, Portland, San Antonio and Utah, but there are also teams picking outside the lottery that remain curious whether he might fall to them.
  1. Devin Carter PG/SG Providence
Carter has built up buzz throughout the pre-draft process and has worked himself comfortably into the Nos. 8-15 pick range. He worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 17 this week and has multiple workouts in the lottery still scheduled. While he has not accepted any type of promise from a team, he is trending in a positive direction. The San Antonio Spurs (No. 8), who have a need at guard, and the Memphis Grizzlies (No. 9), where his father, Anthony Carter, serves as an assistant coach, are viewed as the high end of his range. Another interesting landing spot would be the Miami Heat at No. 15, where his father played from 1999 to 2003 and coached from 2018 to '23, creating a level of familiarity. Carter will also be of interest to playoff-caliber teams that are considering moving up in the draft.
  1. Ja'Kobe Walter SG/SF Baylor
Walter has interest from teams drafting in the lottery and shouldn't fall too far out of it if he slips, bringing a 3-and-D skill set that's widely in demand.
  1. Jared McCain PG Duke
Teams say McCain is taking a different strategy than most players who are in his draft range, which is believed to be around Nos. 9 to 20. He is refusing one-on-zero workouts in favor of competitive 3-on-3 group settings. With most of the teams in his range also looking for shooting finesse, including Memphis, Oklahoma City, Sacramento, Miami, Los Angeles, Orlando and Toronto, McCain likely won't have a very long wait to hear his name called on draft night.
  1. Zach Edey C Purdue
Teams say Edey's range appears to be in the Nos. 9-19 range based on the workouts he has conducted and scheduled. He was with the Toronto Raptors this past week, will visit the Los Angeles Lakers, and is in the conversation at Memphis (9), Utah (10), Chicago (11), Oklahoma City (12), Portland (14) and Miami (15).
Several teams say Edey's productivity ranks him as a top-three prospect in this class according to their draft models -- ESPN's Kevin Pelton had him ranked No. 2 in his stats-only draft projections.
  1. Tristan Da Silva SF/PF Colorado
He has interest from lottery teams, including the Memphis Grizzlies (No. 9) and Sacramento Kings (No. 13), and has scheduled workouts with teams drafting down into the teens, with the expectation being he'll come off the board somewhere in that part of the draft.
  1. Johnny Furphy SG/SF Kansas
He should be off the draft board within the top 20 and has interest from the late lottery teams, including Memphis, Chicago, Oklahoma City and Sacramento.
  1. Kyshawn George SG/SF Miami
George will be getting looks from many of the teams looking for wing shooting from the late lottery through the early 20s, including Oklahoma City, Sacramento, Portland, Orlando and Toronto.
  1. Carlton Carrington PG Pittsburgh
How teams value him relative to some of the other young guards will be a determinant here, with several picks in the teens belonging to organizations that might want a more NBA-ready prospect, which may ultimately widen his range down to around No. 20 or so.
  1. Kyle Filipowski PF/C Duke
Filipowski is shaping up to have a pretty wide range, with interest from teams in the late lottery but also feasible scenarios where he could fall into the 20s. His draft range still fluid.
  1. Isaiah Collier PG USC
Collier has one of the widest draft ranges of any prospect in this draft, starting in the late lottery and extending through the 20s and perhaps beyond. He has been a hard player for teams to peg for his floor, as he's not the easiest player to slot positionally as a young, ball-dominant guard with streaky perimeter shooting.
  1. Yves Missi C Baylor
Every team in the range from No. 9 to 20 wants to gauge his skill level and readiness for helping a team in the short term.
  1. Kel'el Ware C Indiana
His interviews with teams have been largely positive in reframing some of the narratives around his career thus far.
  1. Baylor Scheierman SG Creighton
He's an easy fit for most of the teams drafting in the 20s and isn't expected to drop past Boston with the No. 30 pick.
  1. Tyler Kolek, PG, Marquette
  2. Bobi Klintman, SF/PF, Cairns

2024.06.07 15:04 Fickle-Rabbit9686 I'm a "TikTok content creator" who is being sextorted by a scammer for a mistake I made in the far past

This is quite funny and embarrassing. I do content on Tiktok, my face is mainly what gets me followers. My audience is mainly women and I get quite a few DMs from women on Instagram and Tiktok. Often of good caliber in terms of character and looks, so often I'm trusting of a lot of them. I usually don't respond to everyone as that expends far too much energy from me and I'm focused on one woman at this very moment. In the past I was exploring my options and must have ended up texting a very cute woman that was in my requests. We were texting for a while and I usually ask to hop on the phone with the person I'm talking to within the first day of texting. They refused and I just assumed they were shy or busy (fatal error on my part for not applying pressure) We exchanged ages however. They said they were 21 and I was 22 turning 23 at the time. This was what kept me texting here for a few more days as our conversations were quite casual and harmless. One morning however, we ended up sexting and I sent a vid of myself and also ended up ferociously fucking up and had a bit of my face in the video. They also sent nudes of this so called catfish now and as soon as I sent the one with my face another account messaged me all of the sudden. The "girl" I was texting stopped texting abruptly. I thought nothing of it. I let my horny brain get the best of me as I gave her my number at some point.
I suddenly got a message from this scammer who I know for a definite is Nigerian because it's always these fucking scammers that will do anything to survive in that country (I'm Nigerian living outside of Nigeria I know about the rampant 419'ing and scamming there it's ridiculous) They began to threaten me and asking me to send them 2000 pounds. Also the scammer now wants to make a false I gave them a big fuck you and trolled them hard for quite a while by sending memes and scaring them back. I ended up blocking all the accounts associated with this tomfoolery. Months ago and they creep back up every once in a while showing me screenshots of them sending my nudes to my GF and friends and followers. For some reason, even with my following I feel unfazed and just keep blocking them. It's hard for me to go private however. I can on Instagram but I can not do this on Tiktok as I actively post on there. However, Tiktok has really good filtering on stuff like this so it's impossible to start sending things around. Also I do not follow any close family members on social media and my Whatsapp phone number is not the same as my actual phone number. They just keep creeping. I did end up going to the police just to let them know what's up as there was a point I did feel anxious, but I snapped to my senses instantly. I'm not worried, the conversations I'll have with some people will be awkward asf. Instagram does have a filter too as for some reason it detects suspicious accounts too. Do you guys ever feel like if you could get a hold of them in person, ugh ahaahahaha. The scenario is the reason why I'm sooo careful now and barely talk to any strangers online that found me through Tiktok
Edit 07/06/2024 : They actually made a fake account on TikTok dedicated to leaking me. They will fail in every way because Tiktok instantly bans accounts like that

2024.06.07 05:39 Brigeye Maximum ammunition purchase at one time for a newbie without triggering a background check delay.

TL;DR: is buying 3,150 rounds of .22 LR Rimfire ammunition for a bolt action rifle at one time going to trigger a background check delay for a newbie shooter?
A few weeks ago, I purchased a 12 gauge shotgun with 20 rounds for home defense purposes. This was my first ever firearm purchase. After purchasing this weapon, I decided I wanted to take up shooting specifically at an local indoor range that’s open 24 hours to suit my overnight work schedule.
In July-ish I will be purchasing a .22 LR rimfire bolt action rifle for the indoor range and I’m looking at getting six boxes of ammunition that will total about 3,150 total bullets.
My question is with New York states and federal background checks. Will that amount of ammunition purchased at one time for a new person in that caliber trigger a background check delay? The shotgun purchase with ammunition did not trigger a delay, but I’m worried with that much ammo at one time will do it. I just want to avoid the hassle of the 30 day waiting. Or potential of an appeal process.
I don’t know what’s a normal amount of ammo to get a one time for shooting ranges, but the reason I’m settling around this number in my head is because I work overnights and the dealer I use doesn’t open till 3:30 PM, with my schedule it’s just hard for me to get there even though it’s a few miles down the road.

Help me save a beautiful dog!
This baby is fifty cent and he is at risk of euthanasia at Pike County Dog Pound in Ohio. Please share, he deserves a home!! Below is his story.
Last year, the pound received a call about a pitbull, covered in blood, at a local gas station. When he was examined by the vet, it was discovered that he had a 22-caliber cartridge in his skull.
Luckily, it missed all the major vessels, and he survived the surgery. We named him 50 Cent and he became one of our favorite dogs. Unfortunately, he does not get along with other dogs and cats. He is the most lovable and playful dog. He runs, plays and loves to hang out under the picnic table. He can smile and we think a lot of people mistake it for aggression. He lost his eye during the trauma, and he does look alittle ghoulish when he smiles. He loves people so much and he is very strong. All these things seem to be working against him.
A lot of people have come to adopt him. But he is a lot of dog. Combine that with not getting along with other dogs and it has been very difficult to find him a home. He has been at the pound so long he is starting to lose his spark and depression is setting in. He is neutered, lovable and really loves everyone he meets. We are running out of options and are looking for someone who just wants a one dog home who will love him as much as we do. We do not want him to decline in the pound and hope someone out there is looking for a lovable pitbull. If you think this could be you, please contact us asap. We have someone who will sponsor his adoption. Please help us get 50 Cent a home!

Take 5 Oil Change- Gulf to Bay Clearwater FL
Hey everyone! I'm sharing my experience so others can protect themselves from my mistakes. My car is a 2007 Dodge caliber and has just under 142,000 miles on it. Everything within the cooling system including radiator, radiator cap, thermostat and thermostat housing etc was replaced in September of 2021. less than 30,000 miles ago. Other than the radiator work in 2021 I have had no issues with the car and the car has never overheated before this incident. On 5/22/24 at 3:40 PM Lincoln upsold me a coolant exchange after performing my oil change. It was explained to me as a maintenance thing and would help with gas mileage which driving an older car I am always open to lower gas mileage. I reluctantly said yes because I respect a worker going above and beyond to upsell. I drove away and within 15 minutes my car was overheating. I made first contact with take 5 customer service at 4:32 pm less than an hour after my service BEGAN at 3:40 pm. Daisy told me to check under the hood to see if any pliers got left behind on the radiator hoses. There were no pliers and it was not safe to drive so I agreed to come back in the morning. When the car fully cooled down I went out to find no coolant in the reservoir and the radiator hose bone dry. Being an optimist, I was hoping Lincoln just did not fill it enough so I filled both the reservoir and the radiator with water before heading back to Take 5. I arrived at approximately 7:30 after the car overheated twice on the way back. I had stopped at 7 eleven on Ulmerton off of US 19 which is less than 6 miles from my house and filled the car again only to overheat 4 miles later. When I filled the car at 7/11 I took a video while the engine was off, of water spraying out of the side and a loud racketing coming from the engine. Lincoln admitted to pressurizing the system wrong and told me I would have to come back in the morning for the manager to fix it. Well Pacey could not fix it either and I ended up in Take 5's hellish claim process. I towed the car to a certified mechanic where it was confirmed that the system was pressurized wrong causing coolant to blow into the engine and blowing the head gasket. My oil closely resembles chocolate milk if you get what I'm putting down. Needless to say the repair is $3,800 the claim is denied and I am left without a car or any reimbursement for the damage. I will be suing but I do wish they would take accountability as they do not have the customer sign away liability before the services that are completed. It seems almost foolish to argue liability when the car was driven less than 20 miles after the service. If anyone has had similar experiences at Take 5 and would want to join in on a bigger lawsuit than small claims I am absolutely open.
Attached is the estimate of repairs, my receipt from Take 5, and their reasoning for denial with not even refund as compensation.
It is also worth noting I brought the vehicle to a certified mechanic that I have never been to before. He did not claim any damage to the thermostat housing prior to the oil change because he has never worked on this vehicle.

DESIGN:

STRUCTURE: The structure of the TZ-300 CERBERUS-1, due to the major forces it will be subjected to, is based primarily around a mixture of Titanium Aluminides, Nickel-Based Superalloys similar to Iconel, and Graphene-Reinforced Metals. More high-stress areas are composed of the latter two. With tension ratings in excess of 180,000 psi, these metals are capable of resisting all major loads envisioned by Borealis designers.
The TZ-300 is a bipedal titan with relatively short legs, longer arms, and a bulky torso. It contains a head with ruddy yellow glowing eyes. The head is mostly for aesthetic and intimidation purposes, but does house a significant amount of sensors and is heavily armored.
ARMOR: Building on Canada’s well known skill in developing advanced armor alloys, the new 6T313 ICEHELM-1 Composite Armor introduces a new generation in lightweight, ultra-strong armor. This is a three-layer armor plate. The outer layer consists of a Ti-WC-BN composite nano-crystal structure with the Titanium used for strength, tungsten carbide for hardness, and boron nitride for thermal stability, this is backed by a final high-entropy alloy layer of AlCoCrFeNi with a tensile strength of 261,000 psi. A second layer is used to absorb strikes and consists of graphene-reinforced hyper-steel (80% steel, 20% graphene by volume), and a visoelastic energy-absorbing polymer (VEP) with embedded carbon nanotubes (CNTs) for additional strength. These are placed in alternating layers. The final inner layer consists of a nano-reinforced kevlar embedded aluminum alloy matrix with additional embedding of nanoceramic particles. The armor ranges from 3 to 9 inches thick and has a maximum RHAe level of 6,250mm or ~ 20.5 ft of RHA steel. The armor protects critical areas such as joints, the fusion reactor, and thinner areas of the limbs as well as the rest of the body.
POWER: The CERBERUS is powered by a 10R329 185 MW Miniature Fusion Reactor developed as a spinoff of the Canadian Next Generation Power Initiative of 2069 It is a larger variant of the 10R310 MICFR, which was in turn based on the 10R234 Mobile Fusion Reactor (MFR) of 2057. The reactor is merely a technology-induced miniaturization of the 10R234, still utilizing its protium / boron-11 (p-11B) fuel, but far more efficiently. There are also (3) high-capacity capacitors to store energy for the aerial defense lasers and EMRG main weapon.
LOCOMOTION: Using the feasibility study appended to the end of this design paper, engineers have designed several superconducting electric motors and hybrid mechanical/electromagnetic transmissions to produce and transmit power through servos and actuators to the various limbs and appendages. Superconducting motors have been in use since the early 2000’s including an example that produced 49,000 hp and 2.9m Newton/m of torque (2.3m lb-ft) in 2004. The technology has developed significantly in the intervening 70 years, and Borealis engineers have created a set of specialized extremely high output variants to power the CERBERUS. Due to the staggering torque requirement figures of 35.5 million lb-ft, the transmissions and motors need to be engineered to produce and handle a great deal of power reliably and efficiently. The 5M309 Hybrid electromagnetic-mechanical variable size 3-axis transmissions, and the 5M314-317 High-Temperature Superconducting (HTS) actuatoservomechanisms (A/SEM)s utilize both mechanical and electromagnetic power delivery. The highest torque output requirements which are sent through the hip joints, produce forces of around 175,000 psi, the chosen alloy for all gearing and housing components is a NbMoTaW Alloy consisting of Niobium, Molybdenum, Tantalum, Tungsten. This alloy has a tensile strength of around 290,000 psi, and has excellent high-temperature strength, hardness, creep resistance, and thermal stability. These mechanical gears are further augmented by electromagnetic actuators which minutely control power application and gear meshing to improve power delivery refinement and prevent any slippage of gears, which reduces their life. A small amount of nanolubricant with self-healing properties to repair microscopic gear damage is also provided for additional heat transfer capacity.
STABILIZATION: The TZ-300 uses multiple methods to achieve precise stabilization control across multiple inclinations and terrain types. These include the: 5M325 Advanced CNT Gyroscopic Stabilizers, 5M322 Dynamic Balance Control System (DBCS), 5M328 Advanced Hydraulic Shock Stabilizers. The 5M322 is the controller for the 5M325 and 5M328 and uses a series of hundreds of nano-accelerometers and inertial sensors to provide a constant millisecond-scale model of the exact disposition of all portions of the Titan and uses predictive modeling along with short and medium range LIDAR sensors to observe the surrounding terrain and predict potential unwanted movements or areas of potential loss of stability and notify the commander via his neuralink connection of these potentialities. The 5M325 CNT Gyroscopic Stabilizers are CNT reinforced hyperalloy stabilizers consisting of flywheels and counterweights to assist with minute and rapid balance and stability adjustments, while Advanced Hydraulic Shock Stabilizers absorb the shock of stepfalls, movements, short falls, and impacts.
COOLING: The cooling system is of critical importance due to the many systems that generate heat. The CERBERUS uses a globally managed heat monitoring and mitigation system which begins with the Active Thermal Management System (ATMS). This system automatically routes the myriad data obtained through thousands of nano-scale sensors through the onboard quantum supercomputer to provide a continuous heat management image of the Titan. All systems are threaded with millions of microchannel heat exchangers which use modern phase-change materials and high-performance liquid cooling loops to pull heat from various systems and shunt it to cryogenic helium-based internal heat exchangers, as well as exterior graphene-based heat exchangers. Finally, specific components such as actuators and servos contain local Thermoelectric Coolers (TECs) to provide additional cooling capacity when required.

ARMAMENT:

The CERBERUS is primarily a weapon of war and as such it possesses a robust armament. Its primary weapon is a 14N326 10-inch/30-caliber Electromagnetic Railgun which launches a 1,161 kg slug with a muzzle velocity of 5,000 m/s located on the right arm in lieu of a hand. The slug is composed of a tungsten carbide core, surrounded by a graphene-reinforced CNT sheath with an amorphous Vitreloy zirconium-based metal jacket. Expected kinetic energy using a full energy discharge of the fusion reactor and all three capacitors will result in ~ 5 gigajoules of energy. However, a typical firing will achieve kinetic energy values of 500-800 megajoules of energy. For comparison, the 10-inch/50 caliber Mark 7 naval gun from US battleships fired a 227 kg round at 823 m/s with a kinetic energy of 76.75 megajoules. An additional round that is designed to break up in a tight cone after firing is used for area-of-effect and suppressing fire. The CERBERUS EMRG is capable of firing three rounds per minute sustained, and can rapid-fire three rounds in 10 seconds with a 45 second recharge and rearm period.
Shells are stored in the bulky rear of the torso in two magazines and are dispensed via a retractable graphene-reinforced titanium belt conveyor to the arm-based ammunition loaders. The arm can carry three rounds in the upper arm, and six rounds in the lower arm, with three of those six located beneath the gun itself similar to an over-under shotgun. The arm will have to be reloaded every so often after all shells have been expended.
The left arm consists of a fist complete with movable fingers, atop of which a 6G304 5-inch Triple-Barrel rotary ETC cannon is affixed. This weapon is capable of firing one round every two seconds and works by loading a round into one barrel as another is being primed, and the third is firing. After firing, the barrels rotate and the process repeats.
(4) 6R232 SLINGSHOT-1 EM-Assisted Armored RA Pods which are 30-tube 6-inch rocket pods used on the GU-40 CARIBOU-1 L-RAV, and GU-59 H-RAV developed in 2058, are mounted on the rear shoulders of the Titan and have armored shutters to protect the rockets during battle when not in use. They are capable of firing the entire arsenal of 6-inch Rockets used by Borealis.
Secondary armaments consist first of (4) AURORA-1 20 MW FEL Laser Emitters (2 shoulder, 1 front, 1 rear) which are small, angular domes consisting of transparent aluminum oxynitride (AION) inside of which are synthetic three movable synthetic diamond prisms which direct a tunable (200 nm to 10 micrometer) wavelength laser onto selected targets. The laser can either be fired as a concentrated or pulsed beam through a single prism for maximum power, or dispersed through the other two prisms to engage multiple targets from one emitter. This enables the CERBERUS to engage up to twelve targets at once using four laser emitter points. The prisms are mounted on reinforced, vibration-isolation mounts, and contain their own closed loop cryogenic cooling circuits. Max output is 20 MW, however, in practice actual output is much lower depending on the target engaged. The choice of an advanced FEL laser allows a modulated wavelength to be selected in order to mitigate the effects of battlefield smoke, weather, and other atmospheric effects. Expected range at max firing power is 15-20 km in clear conditions, and 7-10 km in foul weather or thick battlefield smoke. The lasers are primarily intended to engage depleted uranium penetrators, drones and loitering munitions, ATGMs, and artillery shells within milliseconds of beam exposure.
Additional self defense weapons consist of 6G213 1.5 inch ETC self-defense autocannons which provide a 360-degree arc of fire around the Titan to engage infantry, androids, and other armored vehicles or aircraft. Heat from the reactor and systems can be vented downwards around the Titan to scald and boil unprotected infantry within a 100-200 ft radius around the CERBERUS as an unintended but usable defensive tactic.

SENSORS:

The 2W298 ARCHBISHOP-2 Multispectral PESA/EO/DAS is a further advancement on the concept of an electro-optical distributed aperture system. The new system upgrades the electro-optical receivers with newer, more robust, smaller, and efficient receivers to provide an automated threat assessment matrix for the commander and crew. The addition of a high fidelity passive electronic scanned array permits the use of long-range radar to identify inbound threats such as drones, artillery shells, missiles, and aircraft without betraying an active radar signal for anti-radiation missiles to lock onto. The panels are armored and are designed to resist battlefield damage. The 2W330 HELIOS-1 Omnispectral Sensor System combines multiple sensors across the TZ-300 into a real-time analysis picture with the ability for the commander and other users to switch between views via their neuralink connections using mere thoughts. The HELIOS-1 system combines 3D Lidar, Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave Lidar, hyperspectral cameras with a very wide range of wavelength coverage including ultraviolet, visible, and infrared. Ultra-high resolution optical cameras with dynamic zoom functionality, laser rangefinders, microphone arrays, ultrasonic sensors, magnetometers, electromagnetic field detectors, radio frequency analysis sensors, gas detectors, chemical analyzers, biological agent analyzers, temperature, humidity, and pressure sensors, geiger counters, various particle detectors, communications analysis sniffers, SIGINT detector and analysis modules, and several others to paint a highly informative battlefield picture. Connection to the WHISPER network via the ISN datalink also permits data-sharing with all other Borealis assets in the theater and indeed, around the globe. Finally, certain emitters are able to launch EW warfare attacks to attempt to soft-kill inbound threats and obscure enemy targeting and tracking capabilities.

LOGISTICS:

A Titan as large and slow as the TZ-300 must have long-distance travel taken into account. To rapidly move the Titan from one location to another, a variety of methods may be used. The Titan can be disassembled into 7 distinct parts, torso, legs, upper arms, and lower arms and can be transported via ship, rail, truck, or air provided the mode of shipping can handle the weight and dimensions. Disassembly and assembly take 18-24 hours using specialized cranes and a team of technicians.

The TZ-200 HOPLITE-1 is a small scouting Titan that is significantly smaller, lighter, and faster than the CERBERUS. Most of the technology is reused and will therefore not be discussed in detail. Armor is lighter, but it is still substantial, able to resist 2-3,000 RHAe of penetration. The lack of a powerful EMRG significantly reduces the required power output and thus reactor size and heat generated. The HOPLITE-1 is intended to be used as a scout and to operate in urban environments where the CERBERUS will find matters more difficult due to its size and maneuverability. This is unless the goal is complete destruction, then the CERBERUS will be very much at home in urban environments.

Factory Construction and Procurement

Titans of this size will require entirely new factories to construct these behemoths. Two large factories, under the management of a new company, Atlas Defense Works, will be constructed in Dene territory in north-west Borealis, one is located at the Tanacross, Alaska location, and another is located at the Camsell Bend location. Both will be bored deep in the Rocky Mountains to protect from long range strategic strikes. Each facility will have its own living, medical, recreation, water purification, food storage, and power facilities onsite (for emergencies). Power will be supplied via triple 300 megawatt fusion reactors. The local towns of Camsell Bend and Tanacross will receive significant upgrades to house the large expected workforce of 10,000 engineers and technicians and their families. The mountain facilities are expected to be used only in emergencies and for convenience, while housing built in the towns is expected to be used on a daily basis. Infrastructural upgrades including road, rail, and airport access will be provided and substantially improved in order to permit transport of the Titans to specific deployment areas quickly and to allow resources to be transported to the foundries more efficiently. Both facilities will have extra room prepared for additional production lines of any future smaller or larger titans or warsuits that may be developed. The expected cost for these measures is expected to run to $29.5B which will be entirely paid by the Dene and Blackfoot over the course of 7 years.
An initial batch of 30 TZ-300 CERBERUS-1 Heavy Titans and 60 TZ-200 HOPLITE-1 Scout Titans will be procured at a cost of $19.5B and $17.1B, respectively. 15% will be paid by all of the nations, and the remaining 85% will be paid by the Borealis Federal Government.

Feasibility Analysis

The idea of creating large mechanical bipedal walkers has been a hallmark of science fiction for decades, but the technological and material means to do so have remained out of our grasp. Indeed, it has been said that titans are physically impossible due to a myriad of reasons. We have conducted thorough feasibility analyses on multiple potential issues before deciding to move forward with the program.
1. Weight vs. Ground Subgrade Reaction
Objection: A bipedal Titan’s mass is too great to spread across the surface area of one foot during each step where all mass is concentrated upon one foot as the other is lifted forward.
Analysis: Borealis engineers first calculated the estimated mass of the TZ-300 CERBERUS-1 Titan, the diameter of the bottom of the foot, and ran multiple soil bearing capacity tests on the three most common soil types: clay, sand, and silt, in both dry and wet states. The following figures are averages of the samples.
Soil Type Bearing Capacity (Dry) Bearing Capacity (Wet)
Clay 2,000 psf 1,500 psf
Sand 3,000 psf 2,000 psf
Silt 2,500 psf 1,800 psf
TZ-300 Weight: 780 metric tons
TZ-300 Foot Diameter (stabilizers extended): 31 feet
Calculation of Force Exerted upon Ground:
  1. Conversion to Lbs.
  • Weight = 780 tons x 2,000 pounds/ton = 1,560,000 lbs exerted on foot
  1. Calculation of the area of the foot
  • radius = 31 / 2 = 15.5 ft
  • Area = pi*radius2 = pi(15.5)2 = approximately 754.77 sqft
  1. Calculation of pressure (force per unit area):
  • Pressure = Force / Area = 1,560,000 lbs / 754.77 sqft = approximately 2066 psf
Sinking Depth Calculation
Soil Type Titan psf - Bearing Capacity = Excess Pressure
Clay (Dry) 2066 -2000 = 66 psf
Clay (Wet) 2066 -1500 = 566 psf
Sand (Dry) 2066 -3000 = -934 psf
Sand (Wet) 2066 -2000 = 66 psf
Silt (Dry) 2066 -2500 = -434 psf
Silt (Wet) 2066 -1800 = 266 psf
Modulus of Subgrade Reaction (k (psf/ft))
Chart of Modulus of Subgrade Reaction (k) in psf/ft
Soil Type k (psf/ft)
Clay (Dry) 1800
Clay (Wet) 900
Sand (Dry) 3600
Sand (Wet) 1800
Silt (Dry) 2700
Silt (Wet) 1500
Using the formula of sinking depth (d) = excess pressure / modulus of subgrade reaction (k) we receive the final values of approximate settlement of the Titan in feet by each foot on each soil state.
Soil Type Total Settlement of Titan’s Foot (approximate)
Clay (Dry) 0.037 ft
Clay (Wet) 0.63 ft
Sand (Dry) None
Sand (Wet) 0.037 ft
Silt (Dry) 2700
Silt (Wet) 0.18 ft
FINAL Analysis: Due to the large square footage of the TZ-300’s feet with stabilizers extended, expected sinkage into various soil types is expected to be minimal.
2. Force Requirement for Lifting TZ-300’s legs
Objection: A Titan’s legs are too heavy to lift.
Analysis:
Each leg of the CERBERUS-1 weighs approximately 95.74 tons and is 45.14 feet in length. The leg of an average adult male in Borealis weighs roughly 32 lbs and is roughly 35.4 inches (2.95 ft). The force required to lift the weight of a human leg is equal to the weight of the leg (since force = mass x acceleration due to gravity, and the gravity involved is 1 g or 9.8 m/s2, which can be simplified to 1.)
Utilizing this same formula, the total force required is 191,480 lbs.
The Borealis engineers also took into account the following additional considerations:
Center of mass and torque, distribution of weight, leverage and muscle force, acceleration.
The CERBERUS-1’s center of mass of the leg is roughly halfway up the leg, similar to humans, or 22.57 feet from the hip. The human body uses leverage (movement arm) to lift the leg, a similar mechanical advantage will be assumed.
T(human) = 32 lb x 1.475 ft (center of leg mass) = 47.2 lb-ft.
T(titan) = 191,480 lbs x 22.57 ft = 4,321,163.6 lb-ft
To calculate acceleration, additional force is necessary to overcome inertia, engineers assumed a 20% additional force requirement.
Final Adjusted Force:
Adjusted force (human) 32 x 1.2 = 38.4 lbs
Adjusted force (titan) = 191,480 x 1.2 = 229,776 lbs.
Final torque requirement (titan) = 229,776 lb x 22.57 ft = approximately 5,185,396 lb-ft.
This number is to merely lift the leg. In order for the Titan to walk at 7 mph or its top speed of 30 mph at full stride, a force of ~ 17,000 hp and 9,500,000 lb-ft of torque, and 20,000 hp and 35,236,536 lb-ft of torque.

2024.06.06 21:10 KevineCove Why do people scoff at 22 caliber ammo?

As I understand, 22 caliber ammo has less stopping power and is less likely to cause lethal injuries. However, in a majority of cases, just the presence of a gun is enough to deter a potential attacker, and being shot, even if the wound is non-lethal, is enough to make someone back off. The only time someone would get shot and continue attacking you is if someone deliberately intends to harm you, which is far less likely than a mugger or burglar that's just looking to rob you.
Unless you're actually expecting a combat situation, it seems like anything more powerful than a 22 would be unnecessary.
