I have in the plans to build the following gaming pc:
- Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Hero
- Core i9 13900k
- GSkill DDR5 7200
- MSI Suprim X RTX 4080
- 990 Pro 2TB
In a Corsair 7000D white case.For cooling, I have the following parts in mind:Rads, I got 2:
- Corsair XR5 360 white, on top
- Bykski 480 white, on front
Vents: I wanted to get some Arctic 120mm vents, but it's almost impossible to found them (or you have to pay a ridiculous price), so instead I went for Cooler Master Sickleflow 120mm PWM RGB white edition.
Pomp: HEATKILLER Tube 150 D5 MPLiquid: Mayhems X1 UV Blue 1For CPU, I choose the Thermaltake Pacific MX2 Ultra CPU Waterblock.
For GPU, I'm only aware of Bykski (which is the one I'm planing to go with - I will paint it in white) and EK having watercooling for the MSI Suprim X 4080 (any other recommendations are welcome). If I go with the Bykski waterblock, I'm planning to get the block thermometer too (just because I found it cool).
And most important: I got a EK-Loop leak tester to ensure everything is properly sealed.
For tubbing: I went for satin titanium tubes from EK, they are absolutely stunning (but since this is my first time doing watercooling, I will do the first cuts into some standard plastique tubes so I don't mess up with the expensive ones).
For fittings, I ordered a bunch of those (all in white):
- Bykski T-type splitter x 1 (I'm planning to put on it a temperature sensor)
- Bykski 7.5mm extender x 6
- Bykski 15mm extender x 6
- Bykski 25mm extender x 6
- Bykski 30mm extender x 6
- Bykski G1/4 mini dual external thread connection double male adapter x 18
- Bykski 8 pieces bundles in blue OD12mm x 4 (32 pieces in total)
- Bykski G1/4 Male to male rotary connectors x 6
- Bykski G1/4 90 Degree fitting x 12
I picked a Bykski temperature and pressure gauge for the look and feel (I'm not sure this can provide information to control fan speed).
I initially wanted to get a Bykski temperature sensor to control the fans, but I have no clue if it's good enough for that.
Questions:
- Do you see anything wrong, or missing in my setup?
- Did I pick bad elements? (I want to avoid bad stuff - I got the budget so unless a radiator is costing 500 bucks, it should not be a problem).
- Should I get slightly more fittings, just to be sure to not run out in the middle of the building process?
- Is the Bykski temperature sensor good?
- Currently I don't have any fan controls (I'm going to have 16 fans). I was planning to get a Corsair controler (I don't know which one is the best). Is it good, or should I got a different one? Since I got plenty of fans, I don't think there's one controler that will allow me to control 16 fans. Can fan controlers be “daisy chaining"? From this thread, it looks like Aquacomputer makes very good temp sensor + controler combo. Are they really that good?
- Is there some monitor device that shutdown the system in case the liquid pressures drops, or some kind of emergency action to avoid damage (even if it would be hard).
- Any feedback on Bykski and EK waterblocks for the MSI Suprim X RTX 4080 ? Or any other advice?
It's a long time I haven't build a gaming PC, but now that my kid is getting bigger I can finally get some time to play, and I really want to do a cool looking setup.
Thanks!
