Other than Valorant which I tried and hated, I'm out of PC FPS games to really try. Granted I've played games like Hell Let Loose and Arma, but the sim community aspect can be quite cringe and try-hardy god forbid you don't have 1k hours and know every key bind or what everything does. The number of times I've cringed playing sim games gave me a chad jaw line.

Genuinely don't want to see Tarkov die. Do I think they deserve it? Yes. But I go out of my way for the few things that bring me joy in this life. I'm not about to let another greedy corporation get away with taking the easy way out. They will give us what we deserve, and they're going to do what we say if they still want that money. I'm a concepts guy and into business. In this thread I'm going to break down how Tarkov should navigate from here on out if they still want to make money and more importantly if they want to save their ass. This is a solution thread, not a peanut gallery. We want answers, since they apparently don't seem to have any. Stay with me, I'm 3 shots in.

Business Model:

Tarkov up til' now has been pay to win (P2W) with nuance. It was a "silent" agreement the player base agreed on. In return for supporting the development of the game you get some rewards. However, a full P2W model has requirements to be successful from what I've observed. These requirements all fall under "consumer value". The main two are: player superiority, and gamblification. In my opinion everything else falls under psychology tricks, such as "Fools choice. Where the company gives you the option to play free but the progression bell curve is so steep that you cannot progress until you pay. This business model doesn't fit Tarkov, in fact Tarkov can't even use this model because of the missing components. I could show it through an OKR or SWOT analysis but I'm not here to do their work. So what does business model does work for Tarkov?
It's a little confusing and I don't feel like drawing, but essentially it boils down to Arena feeding Escape from Tarkov which is exactly the opposite of what BSG is doing right now. Stick with me. Arena should have been "freemium" in order to maximize the amount of micro transactions. Think of Arena as a gateway drug. One that brings you to hell (EFT). Arena should be cross-selling EFT by bundling "X" amount of battle pass' and varying paid micro transactions (skins, cosmetics, etc.) with all editions. You let people taste the fruit to make them chase the fruit. So how does Tarkov implement this?
Firstly, Arena needs an overhaul. Campaign should NOT require online services (servers should be locally hosted P2P), and EFT needs it's annual "Vorführeffekt" (the loosey goosey big "fix"). The bold part is solely for those who are interested in more business talk.
Business Pivot:

Arena Overhaul:

In general, Arena was not received well among the community. Rightfully so. Because BSG has no clear vision for Arena it suffers from lack of realization. They don't understand Area is NOT EFT. Arena is not a survival extraction. From what I can deduce, it was supposed to be an e-sport ready game launch. Operating under that assumption, it is evident BSG hasn't done any research on the e-sports scene. One google search of the top e-sports games and you can see a pattern between games when it comes to features, mechanics and etc. it becomes even more apparent when you focus only on the shooters. BSG needs to conduct an analysis of both direct and indirect competitors in the e-sports scene if that is an industry, you as company would like to become a competitor in. Use the development and feedback of other games adjacent in the market and derive solutions better than your competitors. Determining both of the things aforementioned will drastically affect development and implementation for the better. Now moving on to Arena feedback.
~Setting:~
On top of being a business major I also write for a living. Small things BSG. Consumers weather they consciously or subconsciously notice things, they take in an overwhelming amount of information and if a lot of small things are missing the player will notice. It seems to me that BSG still thinks we are trying to escape from Tarkov. That should not be the setting for arena. It should be in an adjacent area. Somewhere torn between war and a functioning civilization. That gives you opportunity to have these changes I'm going to discuss next make sense to the players.
~Economy & Classes:~
First and foremost. An overhaul of the system is required. Players want autonomy. Funneling everyone into classes leaves a bitter taste in the players mouth. Reflect on COD and Battlefield. At the start, when a player is new they give options for pre-made presets UNTIL you play enough to understand that you can create your own and have things unlocked. This should be no different in Arena. Give the player options. The next set of changes discussed will be in direct reflection to Arena's identity. The game should realistically have two economies. Outside of the game, a currency should be chosen to unlock different traders items. This should be an accelerated version of Tarkov's trader quests. As you complete different achievements playing the game, different tiers of traders along with unlocks in specific tiers will become accessible. Example: As a new player, you can unlock a Car Med-kit with the primary currency from therapist for completing your first match. How does this connect to the second economy? In game, the secondary economy will function like CS:GO. Earning money as you complete rounds to purchase specific things. What can you buy with this secondary currency? Well, upon unlocking items from different traders you will be able to create specific presets that match your play style. When purchasing in the secondary economy you will be able to choose a base version gun and under it, it will list the presets you have for that version, displaying attachments, costs and stats. Presets will be limited for each gun. Not only will you be able to choose from the preset of guns. You will have preset med choices as well as preset classes (like in EFT). This gives the players the ability to be granular in choosing a kit or super lazy. Class restrictions from COD3 should apply here to set realistic and reasonable limits on player ability. In these preset med choices you will, again, have options when you are in game. Low on money? Choose your budget kit. You can ball out? Grab the kit that has a stim, etc etc. These presets will change and grow as you progress in game completing more tasks, playing more games, getting more kills, becoming better. This also applies to armor. There is a trader responsible for armor. You can create maybe three or four presets for in game. As for ammo. This is something BSG needs to work out for itself with the new armor system. Personally, not rocking with it, but that's just me. The choices of ammo should be left up to BSG to balance. Please balance it... NOW, this is where your preset classes should come in. Creating different presets for players to try when they first get into the game, not for the entirety of the game.
~Micro transactions and Consumer Feedback Loop:~
There are a myriad of posts talking about micro transactions and honestly a lot of them hit the nail on the head. The assumption I was operating under was that BSG needed more money so they were going to use Arena as their cash cow to finish Tarkov's development AND fund Arena together. The opportunity for customizable emblems, having skins/war artifacts, customizable gun skins, customizable dog tags (adding a grenade pin, cuts, blast debris etc, exclusive hideout themes, exclusive hideout pets), the list goes on. All accessible through grinding, battle pass' and/or shop. The potential is endless and again not fully realized. I had hoped for a revival of B03s customization but brought up to date and more realistic. I'd also like to make a note, realism is fine but BSG is letting that goal cloud it's judgement, making it both a strength and a weakness at times.
As for the feedback loop. What keeps players engaged? Why should I keep grinding? Just so I can use the next class to unlock the next class and then use that class? BORING. Give players challenges, rewards, prestige's, leader boards, have a space where people can share highlights, have clans or factions (maybe these can affect EFT in some way), maybe even have boss challenges. Where you and group of friends have to clear a building with a boss or multiple bosses to unlock something specific from the traders.
Arena should be the kickoff to EFT. Meaning Arena should be as user-friendly as possible. Think Tarkov-lite. This mean Arena should have a tutorial...
~Game Modes & Maps:~
Do a bit more research on map making. It is very different when it comes to something as unique as Tarkov. COD makes large maps and sections things off for specific game modes, not saying that's something you should do, just saying that there's more than one way to skin a cat and that's what works for them. On top of that, there should be more game modes. I understand they are in development but things like Free-for-all, TDM, Search and Destroy are all basic game modes a majority of games in this space have. A lot of them also have custom lobby's for players to create and tweak game settings. There is a reason for that.
~General Gameplay and QOL:~
TL:DR Now with all that being said, I'd like to close back onto the bigger picture. Imagining how Tarkov would be if they followed this advice, Arena would cross-sell "freemium" users into buying an EFT copy in exchange for the value given, both by access of ETF and Arena benefits (i.e. battle pass). But this cannot happen if they don't overhaul Arena and make it palatable to new people. Once you buy something you are no longer a customer. Meaning I've already made my money out of you. Sure, they can squeeze some more out of you but there is a limit. And those without a limit are called "cash-cows", 20%. The numbers don't add up. Arena is the future of EFT. PLEASE, expand upon these ideas. Tell me why I'm stupid or not. I want to know if there is anything better out there.
Notes:
Will never understand of wanting a pile of money now when you could continuously get that pile and more if you just wait. You would think, with Google free to literally everybody in the world, that businesses wouldn't make decisions like a 90-year old dementia patient. This goes for movies too. Also the mods removed this post???

Introduction:

PLNT, a franchise gym, proudly upholds the motto "Judgment Free Zone" across all its locations. Designed with the intention of welcoming individuals who may feel intimidated by traditional gym environments, PLNT remains steadfast in its commitment to inclusivity. This commitment extends to their gym layout, which deliberately excludes standard equipment like the bench press or barbell. However, PLNT has drawn criticism for some of its practises such as "Pizza Monday" and the "Lunk Alarm" which makes it harder for users to remain committed/progress in their fitness goals.

Market:

Australia
PLNT has entered the Australian market. According to (SOURCE), the top 3 most popular brands are “Anytime Fitness”, “CrossFit”, and “F45 Training”. However, F45 Training has begun running into problems (SOURCE) where 151 of their 500 locations are in distress. This was due to their “repetitive programs” such as burpees and HIIT that cater to beginners, members felt like they weren’t progressing in their fitness journey due to how simplistic F45 Training was. F45 Training draws a lot of parallels to PLNT where they both cater to newcomers and this could potentially pose an issue to PLNT’s success in Australia where the market is more focused on intermediate gym-goers or beginners who are looking to progress.
Mexico
PLNT has also entered the Mexican market. According to (SOURCE) it seems that there is a large demand for fitness-related products within the younger demographic. A very large opportunity is with women aged 18-24, where the penetration rate is <30%. This low penetration rate could be attributed to these women being intimidated into working out. PLNT’s slogan for judgment-free could cater to the needs of these women.
Fitness in the US
PLNT’s largest market is the US, there is a large opportunity for the fitness industry in the US given that < 25% of the total population engages in exercise (SOURCE) and the US is the Top 10 most obese country (SOURCE). The fittest city in the US is Arlington (SOURCE), largely attributed to its affluence, highlighting the significant role socioeconomic factors play in promoting fitness. Affordability remains a key barrier to exercise participation, and PLNT's competitive pricing strategy addresses this challenge effectively. However, I believe that the habit of regular exercise is profoundly influenced by one's surroundings so to shift consumer's taste and preferences could require more effort and time.

Revenue:

PLNT has 4 main revenue sources. “Franchise”, “Corporate Owned”, “Equipment”, and “National Advertising fund”
Franchise
PLNT franchises their brand out to franchisees, collecting royalty fees and national advertising effort fees.
PLNT can’t just do M&A and acquire other competitors in international market and rebrand to PLNT because acquiring competitors means acquiring their members and their gyms. These members and gyms do not fit PLNT’s target demographic of “casual/first time gym goers”, so the growth of PLNT has to be organic.
When forecasting the number of franchisee-owned stores, I assumed that it took PLNT 6 years to prove their brands in the new area they are established in. So, afterward growth rate of franchise-owned stores had a bump in growth rate to reflect the improved trust in the PLNT brand.
When forecasting the Revenue/Franchisee store, in the earlier years of my forecast I assume that the growth rate tend downward as PLNT is trying to attract franchisees so they offer more favorable terms to franchisees. However, in the later years of my forecast as PLNT gains popularity and pricing powers, the growth rate of revenue/franchisee store increases as PLNT can better monetize franchisees through charging higher royalties or more fees.
Corporate Owned
PLNT directly owns some of the gyms from which they earn income. PLNT hopes "to own approximately 10% of our fleet.” - 2023 Q4 earnings conference. I believe that in the earlier years, as PLNT is building out its presence in other locations it has to own a higher % of its stores to prove to franchisees the value of their brand. But, I assume that in the long run, PLNT will regress back to the 10% target that they set.
When forecasting the total number of corporate stores, In my base case, I assume that it takes PLNT 6 years to prove their brands in the new area they are established in. So, afterward, the growth rate of corporate-owned stores tapers downwards.
When forecasting Revenue/Corporate stores, I assumed that the growth rate followed historic averages, tapering down towards the perpetual inflation rate.
Equipment
PLNT sells equipments to new franchisees and offers replacement equipment for existing franchisees.
When forecasting Equipment Revenue/franchisee-owned store, given the uncertainty in how the small-scale gyms that management has in the pipeline would play out. I opted for less granularity and assumed that the equipment/franchisee-owned store grew in line with the perpetual inflation rate.
National Advertising Fund
When forecasting the National Advertising Fund, opting for less granularity I forecasted it as a % of the historic average of gym revenue.

Sanity Check:

I took into account the Total Members and the Total Number of Stores when determining if my forecast was overly idealistic.
When forecasting Members/Store, I assumed that members/store would grow at a very meager rate due to the uncertainty of how management will proceed with smaller-size gyms.
Ultimately, I believe that the total number of stores will grow at a Y/Y CAGR of 4.6% and the total number of members will grow at a Y/Y CAGR of 5.1%. I believe that this number is realistic given the large number of new promising markets that PLNT is expanding in.

CapEX and D&A:

When forecasting D&A, opting for less granularity I forecasted it as a % of historic average.
When forecasting CapEX, I forecasted it to grow at slightly higher than historic %earnings reinvested given that management has only recently announced plans to expand into new markets, so higher CapEX helps to facilitate a higher number of gyms.

WACC:

Conclusion:

Ultimately, in my base case, I value PLNT at $52.30 per share. I believe that PLNT is correctly priced given how diluted the gym franchise business is with competitors such as "Anytime Fitness" and "Gold's Gym". Many of these gyms have a more unique selling point than PLNT e.g. Anytime Fitness allows for entry to its gyms globally across 50 countries. PLNT's success hinges on its ability to break into new markets where exercise is uncommon and sell them its message of being a safe space to exercise.

Hey Arrowhead, Helldivers needs some QOL fixes. I'll give you a bit of a list but this isn't exhaustive, there's a LOT of QOL we need fixed. Most of today's changes really weren't nearly as important or needed at all, tbh, but some of these QOL changes ARE necessary. Senator was 100% required, thank you!
1) Menus need to be optimized for PC. They're not. It's clear this was made on console. Keys (like ESC) shouldn't highlight an option, they should execute. I don't need to double tap escape to get out of a menu, one is sufficient for that level. So if I'm moving my mouse and hitting escape, the mouse movement shouldn't reset the action here.
2) Same with scroll bars and other menu browsing. Mouse clicks and drags should be functional. It's very annoying to have to be able to move through menus are your locked scroll speeds, let me navigate where and how I want. Basically all of the menus are not optimized for PC usage or follow any PC standards or best practices.
3) Certain actions should have massive priorities. Attempting to shoot my gun should absolutely override and close out of the minimap.
4) A lot of models need to be corrected. Bile Titan comes to mind. I'm tired of getting thrown across the map for walking near a dead bile titan.
5) This logic applies to a lot of environments too. Vaulting and climbing seems wonky and often unclear. There are way too many walls I was able to climb over and then there's a ton of 2 inch steps I need to vault. This can be really frustrating and it between environments and models it leads to a lot of characters stuck.
6) In addition, the inconsistency in the bounces/stickiness of the strategems, I feel like it's WAY too inconsistent and this is extremely frustrating.
7) A lot of the weapons and armor lack diversity. There's actually a good amount of weapons, but when I'm on helldiver mode, it's not a question of which weapon is best suited for a situation, it's 'which weapon do I feel like mag dumping tonight'. It doesn't matter which one I pick. I'm dumping mags for kills, whether it's a 30 round mag or 15, because you've opted to balance weapons around damage and mag size. This is bad, I'm going to come back to weapon balance later, but STOP balancing weapons on mag sizes and damage, weapons in a game like this can be so much more. Armor diversity however is a problem. I think I have 15 or 18 armors in my inventory? I only use one. No perk is more valuable that liberty saves or whatever it is. Your armors need to be a lot more diverse. The speed and stam differences between light, medium and heavy are good, however, I think we can do even better. Heavies should get to carry a second primary weapon OR deploy with a support weapon and still be able to call down an additional support weapon. Trust me, this isn't as game breaking as it sounds. I've still got the speed and agility loss. Let's give that some justification. I've seen a lot of great perk armor perk suggestions on reddit too and a lot of them are really well thought out and balanced. Let's up the diversity here. Unless you've got some great stuff packed in the upcoming warbonds, I see a big player drop off coming soon. Steam shows no uptick in players for the release of the last warbond. That would concern me if I was a dev or CEO of a studio.
8) Yea, let's get into weapon balancing. This is the other MAJOR problem here with this game. I think shotguns are the only weapon that feel unique. And those all feel the same, basically. Which is fine but basically all the other weapons feel the same. Non-AP? L-AP? M-AP? Doesn't matter. Emptying the magazine for a kill. Yes, the Non-AP does less damage but it gets more ammo. DUMB. Stop balancing your weapons like COD. Hurr Durr, if gun is good at one thing it must be bad at other. NO! Just because a gun gets a scope or a better scope doesn't mean you need to take ammo out of the mag to balance it. This is fucking dumb! Non-AP ammo does a lot of damage to no armor targets, check. M-AP or L-AP ammo should do less damage to those same targets because it over penetrates. Now, if the targets were humans, this wouldn't matter, because getting shot hurts a lot, doesn't matter the bullet, so much. But dumb bugs and non-feeling bots? Loading they wouldn't care about holes unless their critical systems are failing them. So the AP, L-AP and M-AP versions of the same weapon should have the same ammo count. The bullet size doesn't change, unless you are changing the bullet size but you don't need to. Non-AP = hollow point, L-AP and M-AP come in the same size with different colored tips. That's how ballistics work IRL and it's actually kind of convenient for your balance purposes. So let the M-AP and L-AP do very little damage vs non-armored targets. But the way I see it now, I have no reason not to want basically the biggest weapon I can carry into the field. Taking away mag size as your balancing mechanism only punishes me vs armored targets. Hence, the logic that the gun selection doesn't matter. Now, you have gotten some balancing correct with the way certain weapons sway and line up. While I hate it, I like it and it's right. Some of the weapons do feel very punished by sway though. I think it was the disruptor? Basically unusable for how slow it is to turn with/line up given it's unimpressive damage. Actually, the more I think about it, I feel like this game was balanced around difficulty 3 or 4, not so much 6, 7 or 8. Because the extremes are where I find the problems show up. The funny thing is, when it comes to weapon diversity, pistols are actually CRAZY diverse. 3 completely unique pistols with the general issue being generic and unmemorable. Homerun guys. You understand weapon diversity, you're just going full COD on your weapon design. Stop, COD sucks and hasn't had a release that eclipses itself in over a decade! Let a weapon be overpowered or broken for a specific purpose. DOTA's design philosophy is much better 'if everything is broken, nothing is broken'. A lot of the weapons, meh, they're all just a blur. The only ones that standout are the pistols. Thank you for the speedloader by the way. Great addition, 100% necessary and wonderful!
9) Also, speaking of weapons. Please let me just pick up the mags off the ground. Stop making me swap the weapon. Like, think about that. Why would I drop 5 perfectly good mags to pick up 2 for the gun I'm picking up? When it's the same gun. That and the glitchy reloads. I'm not sure if this is a glitch or lag or something weird happening, or maybe this is weapon failure built into the game, but I'm so tired of reloading a weapon, firing one shot, and having to reload again because a mag didn't get put in? Or some shit like that? Not sure, but this happens maybe once or twice per session. I have to reload again, and then I'm missing an entire mag. This isn't logical. Let me explain firearms, and pay attention because basically no game gets this right. Clear and empty weapon. Insert mag. Action weapon. 30 round mag, 1 in the chamber, there's now 29 in the mag. I like how you don't magically manage mags to perfection. I like that. But here's the complain, if we're not going to magically manage mags, which again, I like, we need to handle reloads and ammo pickups correctly. So, when I reload a partially full mag, and again, this is how firearms work, when I drop the old mag, there's still that one in the chamber! REMEMBER THIS! I put the new mag in. Fun fact. That gun is live and ready to fire. 30 in the mag, 1 in the chamber. Yes, 31 rounds in the gun. AND NO, I do not need to action the weapon. It's hot. It's ready. Pull the trigger and we get boom. If you're going to punish me on the reloads, I want my one in the chamber and bonus reload speed and lack of need to action. Actioning the gun will discharge the round in the chamber. So it's not unreasonable to action the weapon, however, when you empty a weapon entirely, the slide/action remains in it's unloaded position (generally, not all), showing an empty chamber. So again, to clarify, I like the lack of magical magazine management. But let's be logically consistent on this here. Oh, and fix the damn quasar cooldown thing. Oversight, I'm sure. LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE!
Look, I get it, QOL patches AREN'T sexy. But QOL patches are the difference between a game living for a decade and a game living for 18 months.
And if you're planning mega missions with more than 4 players, or the invasion of super-earth and new races and events, having an optimized and functional game will keep more people around. No, they won't say it on the feedback card that the optimizations and QOL are what drew them in, but those boxes WON'T be checked as they don't tell you when they stop opening the game. And yea, calling it now, 4+ diver missions, prolly for 6 or 12 months patch. Super earth invasion for 12 months or 18 months. Maybe a boss mob fight mission around one of those noteworthy months. Might even be the 4+ diver missions. And for events like that, weapon diversity and utility will be what makes the event fun and unique and gives people memorable and lasting experiences! New race to fight will probably be the 2 year anniversary event. Or maybe we get some kind of bug-bot hybrid mission or boss fight. Just some guesses.
And just to throw out a compliment on the game, I do like it. The theme? HOME FUCKING RUN. The music and the styling. Absolutely nailed it. Let's get the gameplay to that level and you can buy many, many yachts with your warbond $$$ for years to come.

Is the game currently in a good place on PC?
Siege pretty much replaced COD for me during the first 2/3 years of the game but I’ve not gone back to it since as my friends stopped playing it.
I just reinstalled but not had the chance to play it yet. I dread to think how bad I am at mouse and keys right now.
Valorant is the only game I’ve played on M&K which I hit ascendant, but that was over a year ago so it might take me a while to get back used to mouse and keyboard.

My (23F) husband (25M) asked for a divorce, then changed his mind hours later

Background: we've been together for two years, married for one. We're both in our early twenties.
The night of the bullshit we'd had an argument about the distribution of chores that I think triggered it. I thought it wasn't fair that I was doing the majority of the housework, on top of being a full time student at university and having a job. He seemed to think the chore distribution was fair and that I was overreacting. We came to a solution after all the bullshit I'm about to tell you about occurred, but essentially I was feeling overwhelmed and unheard and he was feeling stressed and confused as to why I thought this was a problem.
Later that night we're discussing the situation again, and I express how it feels like he's not listening to me and how distant he's been lately. Then he says there's a reason for the distance and I ask him to tell me why. He says that he thinks we moved too fast, he doesn't know who he is, and he wants a divorce. He says he cares about me, but doesn't love me. And that he's been feeling this way for a while.
Now, I've promised myself since years ago that I would never try to make someone stay with me if they don't want to. So, as much as this hurt, I said okay. I cried, he cried. I did ask if he wanted to try couples therapy before divorcing but he said no. We decided to sort out details in the morning, I grabbed some blankets to sleep on the couch and he went upstairs to bed.
In the midst of my sitting on the couch crying and looking up apartments, what felt like hours later, I hear him get up and come to the living room. He sits down next to me and just says "I fucked up so bad".
I freeze when I hear this, because I've barely processed the reality of what just happened and I can already see where he's going next. I ask him to elaborate and he says he doesn't want a divorce, that he doesn't know why he said that and he's feeling the most regret he's ever experienced in his life. He says that he realizes he fucked up and I don't have to take him back.
At this point I've experienced so much emotional whiplash that I've completely numbed out. I'd already cried all the tears I could. Now was just sitting there next to my sobbing husband and saying I'd take him back even though I'd barely processed the fact that he'd wanted to divorce me. I told him I wanted couples counseling and for him to get individual therapy and he agreed. I've asked him about individual therapy in the past but he never wanted to until now.
It's days later now. I've gone through all the stages of being mad at him, depressed that my marriage almost ended, insecure about myself, accepting the reality, feeling love for him, feeling numb. Cycling through all these emotions over and over again at random. We're searching for a couples counselor but a lot of them have wait-list right now. So in the meantime I just want to know, if anyone has been in a similar situation: does it get better? Does the trust ever come back? I feel like I can't trust him at all now. When he touches me I freak out sometimes because that's not the comforting feeling I'm used to when he touches me, it's the feeling like he's suffocating me.
I want to be here for him and help him through whatever mental shit he's going through. But this has been affecting my work and my school, I left my dream school for him. I can't just keep prioritizing him above everything else when he clearly doesn't do the same for me. And yet until now he was doing the same for me, he's always been so sweet buying me flowers making dinner going out of his way to make time for us. And before you scream abuse please know I've been in abusive relationships before and they felt nothing like this. He's not like those guys this is the first time he's ever done something like this. I just don't know how we can recover. Any advice about how to get through this would be appreciated.

Personally, I think you need to be single and work on yourself. If you got married a year into your relationship, that means you were engaged within just a few months of knowing him. Now you’re sobbing over this man and taking him back in the same breath/two hours after he said it was over. Also, just because he regrets what he said doesn’t mean he didn’t mean it. There was definitely truth behind his statement “we got married too fast.” There seems to be a lot of co-dependency in this relationship on both sides.

I feel trapped in my marriage and I can't tell anyone - 8 months later

Eight months ago my (23F) husband (25M) asked for a divorce, then changed his mind hours later. We went to couples therapy and individual therapy (though he quit his individual therapy after just a couple sessions claiming he'd look for a new therapist and never did). We've worked through a lot of our issues, we've become better partners to each other. But despite all our improvements my mind keeps going back to that moment.
I find myself constantly monitoring his emotions, looking into his eyes to try to see if he's still in there or if they're vacant like they were that day. I completely shut down around his friends because I saw the text conversation he had with his best friend the day of and how they shit talked me. My husband swears his best friend doesn't hate me but I don't believe him. I live my life in constant fear that today is going to be the day he changes his mind again and leaves me. I've become obsessive about saving money in my personal account so that if he does leave I'll be okay. I find myself apologizing for everything, making myself small. I hate this version of myself. I feel like a coward.
Last night we had a fight about it because I asked for reassurance and he got upset. He said he's been trying so hard but that no matter what he does it feels like it will never be good enough. And honestly, he might be right. He really has been trying so hard and has been such a good partner these past few months, but I can't get what he did out of my head.
I've tried to explain so many times in so many ways how much what he did hurt me and how it's going to take time to heal. His response last night, "good people make mistakes, get over it". So I decided that the pain of bringing it up again and again and hurting him in the process wasn't worth it. I told him I'd stop talking about it and try to forgive him. I feel like I've just made the ultimate betrayal to myself.
I stopped individual therapy a bit ago to save money, but the combination of last night plus the fact that I feel compelled to post on reddit about this probably means I should go back. I fantasize about going back to my dream school, running away, just leaving all of this behind. I hate that I gave up my dream life for a man who maybe doesn't even want me and that I'm stuck playing the part of the good quiet wife who shuts up for the sake of protecting his image. I hate what I've become. It's hard to see a way out.

So, what I'm reading here, is that though your husband has done so much work and improved so much for his marriage... He cannot consider your side of.. The marriage. Because a marriage is between two people, two partners, it takes more than just one side. It doesn't sound like he's improved as much as he thinks he has. If he cannot be assed to have a conversation with you about it, that's where the bar is for your marriage. Especially after he instigated this crater in the road and has 'worked to fix it.'
OOP: To be fair to him, it's probably hard for him to feel like he can't fix what he did. I'm not the only one hurting in this. I keep trying to talk about it with him to try to work on fixing it, but it just seems to make him upset and he says it doesn't help anything.

One year ago I (24F) made this post asking for advice on how to continue with my relationship after my (now-ex) husband (26M) betrayed my trust by telling me he wanted a divorce out of the blue and then changing his mind just a couple hours later.
As stated above, he is now my ex. Those of you who said that he would repeat the same behavior again, you were right. On New Years Day 2024 he said he wanted a divorce, packed a bag and left to a motel, then came back hours later. I'll admit, I was a wreck that day. I asked him if this was just going to be like last time and he said no. I asked him if he felt mentally okay and he said he felt fine. I got on my knees and begged this man to stay (not my proudest moment) and he looked at me with empty, vacant eyes and just left.
I was in tears for a couple hours, but then I opened this app to try to distract myself and saw he had made a (now-deleted please don't go looking for his account) post on the divorce subreddit about how he left me and felt bad but didn't regret it. Then I went from depressed to furious. I called my landlord and told him that I was getting a divorce and needed his help in changing the locks. My landlord was very understanding and helped me do so.
A few hours later I heard a knock on the door and when I opened it my ex-husband was standing there, I didn't even get a chance to tell him to leave because he immediately collapsed into my arms sobbing. The first coherent words to come out of his mouth were "you're not gonna take me back are you?"
Reddit, I would love to say that I rejected him right then, but I didn't. Even after all of this I was still hooked into his web of manipulation. So instead I sat down with him and had a long discussion about how much he hurt me, how in the middle of working to rebuild the trust that had been broken between us he completely destroyed any progress that had been made and found a way to make that distrust even worse. I don't remember the details of what he said, but he always knew what to say to get me to feel sorry for him.
The night ended with me saying I would take him back. He was smiling, saying he'd never felt so hopeful, he wrote me a love poem that night for the first time in years. Meanwhile I had never felt so broken, and I told him that after he said he felt so hopeful. He shrugged it off and said I'd feel better in the morning. I did not, in fact, feel better in the morning.
During the next few days while I was trying to pick myself back up, study for finals, and continue going to work as if nothing was wrong, he went back and forth every day on whether or not he loved me, whether or not he wanted to be married to me. He said he thought he loved the idea of being a husband more than he loved me.
My last straw was when I reached out to one of his childhood friends, who I had interacted with a few times and though I could trust to be honest with me, and asked him if he had ever noticed any red flags in my ex-husband's behavior in his past relationships or behavior towards women in general.
This friend assured me that he had never noticed anything of the sort. I thanked him and asked if he could please not tell ex-husband I asked that since I was afraid of what he might do. When my ex-husband came home from work that day I could immediately tell he knew. He opened the front door so forcefully.
He sat down on the couch next to me, told me he knew, and said in a low and almost growling tone of voice "But I know you didn't mean any harm by it". I was frozen in fear and couldn't say anything, but then he grabbed my face and turned my head to look at him and his eyes looked so cold, and he said again "You didn't mean any harm by it right?". I nodded and forced myself to answer "right".
And I knew in that moment this man would kill me if I didn't find a way out of this relationship, if I didn't kill myself first with how bad my mental health was getting after dealing with him insulting and belittling me day after day. I was genuinely starting to spiral into a dark place I hadn't been to in years.
The next day while he was at work I packed a bag, wrote a note telling him I'm leaving and that I want his stuff out of the house when I get back, left the note on the counter with my ring and spent the night at my mom's.
It is an uncontested divorce, filing by mail, and should be finalized in April. I started the paperwork at my mom's house that first night of separation.
Since ending my relationship I have gone to therapy and realized just how abusive and manipulative my ex-husband was. I also understand how broken he is, but being mentally unwell is not an excuse for abusive behavior. What he did to me was abuse and I'm not afraid to say that anymore. I have reconnected with old friends and made new ones.
I have started doing things that I love again, things he never wanted me to do like wearing red lipstick or eating mint-flavored things and going to concerts. I've realized I never want to be married again. I've discovered my polyamorous identity and have begun to explore this side of myself. I have plans to move out of my hated hometown that he had dragged me back to. I feel so much more joy, freedom, and self-love than I ever did when I was in a relationship with my ex-husband.
I won't be using this account anymore after this, as I have no need to. But I want to thank this community and the other reddit subs that I've participated in. If I had never made my original post I don't think I would have realized just how awfully my ex-husband treated me. Thanks to the support of hundreds of voices telling me I deserved better, I realized how true that statement was. I deserve better, and now I have better.
I also want this update to be a beacon of hope to anyone who has found themselves in a similarly emotionally/verbally abusive situation: life is so much better when you leave. There is hope, there is light on the other side of the pain.

I'm gonna maybe say something that might sound wrong but bare with me. The friend did OP a MASSIVE favour. If he hadn't told the ex husband she called, it may have been a while before OP saw that scary side of the ex and for all we know he may later down the line have snapped and hurt her, this way she saw it and got out physically unharmed.

I know I'll probably come off as the villain but I need to get this out. I destroyed my marriage and I still don't even know why.
I'm in my twenties, so is my ex-wife. We had this fast summer romance, it was my first relationship that ever got serious. She wanted to go to college in another country, and I didn't want to lose her so I said I'd go with her. Maybe that's where I first fucked up. Turns out getting a work visa when you don't know the language is pretty much impossible, and so the only way I could go with her was if we got married. She asked if I would marry her, and I said yes. At the time I thought we would be getting married someday anyways, so why not shorten the timeline a bit. I really did love her, I want to emphasize this because my actions later on admittedly did not reflect that. We had a small wedding, I've never been one for fancy things and she said she'd rather spend the money on our future than some elaborate party.
She spent months searching for an apartment for us in the country she'd be studying in but ultimately we had to decide on her going alone first when the school year started and me staying in our home country while she continued to search for a place for us to stay. This was rough, and honestly I couldn't stop imagining her finding someone new or going out to college parties the way all the movies show and finding someone she wanted more than me. It's always been an insecurity of mine, especially because she's bi and some things she'd say sometimes made me wonder if she'd like being with a woman more.
Long story short she ended up getting sick and we decided she should come back home and continue her studies here. She got really depressed after coming back home. She didn't want to go out because she didn't want to run into people we knew, she felt like she'd failed in her goals. I tried to help her get back on her feet, but she was just so in her head and I just couldn't stand it sometimes. Something had shifted then. She got angry with me a lot, we'd get into fights and I hated it because I'm not a person who gets angry, ever. She said I didn't do my fair share of chores, got upset whenever I'd spend too much time gaming and not enough attention on her, it was like I had to be this perfect picture of me she had in her head otherwise I was a monster.
One night it got really bad. I had said I was going to do the dishes and I honestly just forgot, I was going to do them after one more round of COD with the boys but I forgot and as we were going to bed she turned and saw the dishes in the sink and started screaming at me. I was already tired and I had work in the morning and honestly couldn't be bothered. She stomped downstairs and did them and I'm pretty sure she intentionally made as much noise as possible so I couldn't even sleep until she was done.
The next day while I was at work I decided I was done, it was like some sort of switch just flipped in my brain. I didn't want to go on being treated like this, I'd seen this kind of stuff play out with my own parents and I didn't want to be miserable like them. So when I got home I sat her down and told her I wanted a divorce. She seemed surprised which I thought was strange because from my end it seemed like we were both unhappy. She took it pretty well though, we had a long conversation about our feelings and stuff and decided that I'd take the bed and she'd take the couch and we'd sort out details in the morning. She asked if I was sure, if I wanted to try therapy first, and I was so sure that this was what I wanted. It was rough, laying upstairs in our bed I was still able to hear her sobbing, but I was so sure this was what was best for both of us.
Then I don't even know how to describe it, it was like a switch flipped in my head again and I started imagining what my life would be like without her, the morning coffees and kisses, the way she always remembered my birthday (my family forgets every year), her constant encouragement, seeing her smile, then my mind flashed to how broken she looked when I told her we were done and I cannot even begin to describe the stab in the heart I felt when I realized I had just hurt the person I loved most in this world. I knew I couldn't live without her, and I'd do anything to make her smile again.
So I went downstairs, it was still late at night I don't know how much time had passed, and watched her try to wipe away her tears and try to look put together as I sat down next to her. I didn't even know what to say. The first thing I could think of was "I fucked up so bad". She set down her laptop and I saw it was open to some apartment search site. She asked me what I meant and I told her I still loved her, that I didn't know why I said everything that I did and I don't deserve any sort of forgiveness but could we please try again. And this saint of a woman held me in her arms as I broke down crying and forgave me. She said she wanted couples therapy which I instantly agreed to, I would have agreed to anything she wanted if it meant staying together.
The next day was rough, she was starting her new job (I had terrible timing I know), and she wouldn't even undress in front of me, she went into the bathroom to change clothes. There was no kiss goodbye before work, no kiss hello after, she wouldn't even look me in the eyes. This went on for a while. It was a full week before she let me have sex with her. And things did slowly start to get better. But she was never fully the same. The fun loving woman I fell in love with was gone, it's like the light in her eyes had gone out. I tried everything I could, I went to the therapy sessions, I bought her flowers, planned date nights, went out of my way to get her favorite chocolate, listened to the books she wanted about emotional labor and I even created a chore chart so the housework could even out. And some days she'd be fine but there were a lot of nights when I'd wake up to hear her crying in bed next to me.
If I tried to comfort her she'd just push me away and say she was fine, so at some point I stopped trying and just lay there and listen to her trying to stifle her sobs and wonder how many nights she was doing this. Other times she'd get angry, any mistake I made she'd always find a way to tie it back to how I "abandoned" her. It was like nothing I could ever do would be enough, I'd always be the monster who made her feel unloved. One of the worst gut punches was when I realized she'd changed her phone background from a photo of us to a bunch of photos of her friends. I asked her why she changed it and she said she just felt like it. My background stayed as a picture of her until the very last day.
After months of this back and forth trying to please her, and one too many nights of listening to her crying in bed, I looked through her phone and saw something she'd written about how she felt trapped in our marriage. The next day I told her I wanted a divorce, that I knew she was unhappy and I was too and this is what was best for both of us. I went further this time, packed a bag and went to a hotel, turned off my location. She acted different this time. The first time she was calm, self-assured, said she wasn't going to beg for me. But this time was different, she was hysterical, literally got on her knees begging me to stay. It was really unlike her, I was honestly a little worried for her safety. But I left anyways. Hopped online, told the boys it was over, tried to distract myself with gaming because it's the only thing that keeps me sane. Eventually I logged off and just lay in the hotel bed listening to music trying to fall asleep, and a song came on that meant something to our relationship and it was like something broke in me, I couldn't stop crying.

I ran to the car and drove back home sobbing and speeding I'm not sure how I didn't crash. When I got there I tried to unlock the door and the key wouldn't fit, she'd changed the locks already. I had to knock on the door of my own home and the waiting seemed to last forever. I know it sounds pathetic but as soon as she opened the door i just collapsed into her, I was crying so much I nearly hyperventilated. She was standing really still, she didn't say anything and her arms were flat by her side and I could tell she wasn't going to take me back his time. After I pulled myself together I saw a bunch of trash bags by the table and knew it was probably my things. I asked her if she'd take me back, she hesitated for a while before saying she'd have to think about it. We had a long talk, a good talk, about our whole relationship and everything that had happened. Somehow I managed to convince her that we could give another try. I had gone from feeling so empty that morning to feeling so hopeful by the nighttime, I felt like this time really would be different, I started writing again, she even let me have sex with her that night rather than waiting a week like last time. She said she felt broken and was saying some scary shit about wanting to kill herself but she's always been a bit melodramatic so I knew she'd come around. I fell asleep dreaming of a better life for us.
But the next few days were hell. I woke up realizing that after I'd fallen asleep she'd put her clothes back on and slept on the floor. She would barely eat, everything she did seemed robotic, and every night I'd have to pull her away from the knives and pills because she kept saying things about how she didn't want to live. One night it got really bad, she was crying in bed as usual and when I asked her what was wrong she started begging me to kill her, saying I was a coward for "killing her soul and leaving her body here to suffer". I was really scared for both of us. I managed to talk her down somehow, and the next morning I came home to a note on the counter saying she was staying at her mother's and she wanted me out of here by the weeks end. She left her ring on the note so I knew she was serious, and honestly I was just glad it wasn't a suicide note. So I took the rest of my things and left.
We've interacted a few times since then to get papers sorted, and now the divorce is final. From what I can tell she seems happy, I guess she's moving soon and maybe has a new guy I can't tell, I try not to look at her things.
For the life of me I can't figure out why I did it. She's telling people I was abusive, maybe I was. My father seems to think I'm in the right which makes me feel icky because he's a misogynist prick. I loved her, I really did. And I'm starting to realize just how much she did for me. My apartment's a mess without her, my life's a mess I keep forgetting shit because she's not here to remind me, I have a toothache but keep forgetting to make an appointment because she was always the one to do that and I don't even think I have dental insurance anyways, I miss my dog, I miss her, I miss having someone to come home and vent to and she was always so understanding of me. I took her for granted. And now she's off to some foreign country probably fucking her ex or something and I'm stuck here away from my family and friends working my ass off in a 9-5 with nothing to show for it.

Hey guys, I thought about getting MWR since its on sale and I wanted to scratch that cod 4 as I found my old retail version recently (shame steam doesn't accept those keys). Back then I skipped it due to being in a bundle with IW.
However, when looking at the player counts, Cod4 has more players (600) than MWR (50)? Why is that ? I can understand it not selling that well at first for the same reason as me not buying it but why is the old COD more populated? I don't think there are a lot of people like me who are late to the party. In fact, MWR on console seems healthy enough for TDM matches at the very least and I am seeing enough videos of people playing it. It has been on steam sale a few times as well as being a standalone.
Also is it really worth to buy it for the campaign if I have the old one anyway?

This is just my opinion, not a fact or objective truth or whatever, i agree with the community to some extent but i think the outrage is overblown. I am a standart account player so i don't have a horse in this race, bought the game on all keys for thirty dallah a couple of years ago so i believe i have a more objective point of view on the situation
As far as i understand it there are three main problems with this Unheard edition: It's overpriced, it's pay to win and EOD owners don't get own PVE mode.
First thing is the price - i don't think it's that high for the ammount of goodies that you get, it's that pricey exactly because it's hella pay to win and exactly because it has the PVE mode attached to it. It's basically EOD plus those two things. Tarkov players shot themselves in the leg with this one because a huge ammount of EOD purchuses came in in the last days of EOD's life and the price was hundred and fifty which let BSG to believe that it's not a problem for people to spend that amount of money for the game and people might be willing to spend even more. And i sort of agree with BSG on this one, without talking about other points like pay2win and PVE, just from a monitary stand point, because it WAS easy for a lot of people to spend that kind of money on EOD and having played these couple of days after the update you see some blue names poping up.
Pay2Win - yes. Scavs ignoring you if you stay away is very game changing because leaving scavs alive so you know when another PMC comes through is a big part of Tarkov game loop. Calling in your buddies in the middle of the raid is broken as hell, no need to talk about itthat much, we all know how and why it is bad. Although on a side note, it would be kinda cool to have a buddy who has Unheard and he maybe finds FINALY finds the bloody rusted key and calls you in so you can do this shitty quest. Or Your buddy finds a sceared crab and corners him, then calls you in so you can do grenadier because you have no skill to do it on your own. Never the less, it is absolutely and without a doubt P2W, but you know what else is? EOD. As a standart account player it takes me a lot of time to get to where EOD starts it's wipe, not taking into consideration that lvl 4 stash space is locked behind ragman lvl4 so you need to be lvl 42 and have 200k euro. The excuse that i hear from a lot of people and which is going on in discord in form of copy pasta is that players supported the game since 2016 and bought EOD to support a struggling dev. If you bought EOD in the first 2 years then yes, you are in the right here, but all the rest of you who started later can suck a big one, because at that point BSG didn't need that much cash and could stay a float with just the standart editions; Yall bought EOD because you wanted the extra stash space immediatly, you wanted big cheeks so you can hide your moonshine and bitcoin and 3 stacks of m80 and a serv, you wanted better rep so it's easier to progress at the beginning and stop all over people who don't believe that spending more then 40 bucks on a beta with broken audio and a lot of other bugs is a good idea. So most of you EOD havers can sit down because you payed and you won for a long time, now someone else is goin to pay more and win more and you'll understand how it feels not to be the top dog anymore.
PVE - This one is a doosie. First of all (and again, i wasn't payed off by nikita) there is no industry standart as to what is and isn't an expansion and DLC, sure, you can give it a description based on what other companies released as a DLC and we all know generally what a DLC is. With that being said, there are companies like EA or Bethesda or Ubisoft who will sell you 2 hours worth of content or a skin for 30 bucks and will call it a DLC. On the other side you have small companies who love to make games and release 20 hours of additional content without charge and will just put it into the game without calling it an expansion or DLC. I guess it basically comes down to the moral compas of the company and oh what a surprise - big rich companies are scummy, jeesh, never heard that before, never happened before with franchises like CoD or BF, or CD project going from Withcer 3 to CP2077, when are you guys going to learn never to trust the BIG DEV? Now, do i think it's a DLC? No, it's a game mode, it's not even something different like Arena, it's just EFT offline. Should they charge for it? Well, it's their game, they can do with it whatever they want. Is it worth the money? No. Even someting like Arena is almost dead now and thats a different thing compared to tarkov. And this "Tarkov but it's boring"? Yall are crying over something that you will play for a bit and forget about it because similar to Arena it lack what makes tarkov great - the fear of having a quest item or a bunch of good loot on you and hearing the a couch having, altyn and zebralo wearing, meta juice cannon wielding, 400 pund IRL weighing and with his parents living Kappa gamer with 10k hours who is W keying towards you to destroy your entire career.
In the end this is just what big game companies do, it's just bussiness, they don't care about you so you should stop enabling them to do what Unheard edition release did to the community.

2024.04.27 13:08 nine16s [WaW] Unpopular opinion: WaW campaign on Veteran isn’t THAT hard.

For 15 years I’ve avoided playing the WAW campaign on Veteran because I’ve heard horror stories of grenade spam and the missions being brutal.
I really didn’t think it was that bad. Sure, there are parts I was stuck on for a little bit but no more or less than any other CoD game for the most part. As long as you stick with your squad, most of it is pretty straightforward. Enemies will literally swarm your grenades in an effort to pick them up, so as long as you cook them, they’ll blow themselves up. The grenade spam is bad, but luckily there were few times I felt truly SOL. The AI is also a lot better on both sides, and honestly as long as you stick with your CO’s (Reznov, Roebuck) you’re fine, because they’re invisible and take out a surprising amount of enemies. The key to all of these games on veteran is letting your squad take care of the work as much as possible.
IMHO WaW’s veteran doesn’t have SHIT on the first 2 CoD’s. I just finished CoD2 on veteran and that game nearly drove me insane, and I’d argue the grenade spam is even worse. Took me hours to beat certain checkpoints, especially the last few chapters.
Granted the fact that I immediately jumped from CoD2 Veteran to WaW probably helped me warm up, but this campaign really isn’t THAT hard.

I recently tried LOS on banana pi m5 since it's original Android system is bad. I am glad to see it is officially supported by LOS.
Nonetheless, there are multiple bugs in recent builds. I am not a sophisticate Android engineer, so what can I do is to manage to provide information as detailed as possible.
Bluetooth Problem
The problem appeared since lineage-21.0-20240419-nightly-m5_tab and was NOT fixed in the more recent one.
Simply put, Bluetooth is able to discover devices, but unable to paiconnect to them successfully. I tried bugreport and dumpsys to capture some logs.
It is weird that the bluetooth service hasn't crashed, but reporting timeout. But I can successfully connect to the same device with the build 20240315, so I confirmed that the problem is neither at me, nor at the bluetooth mouse and anywhere of my firmware.
Here are logs from Bluetooth manager, I will highlight the critical lines. It seem to be successful at first, but somehow, due to a mysterious timeout error, it failed. I guess the problem may be somewhere of encryption as it says Security state changed.
Tip: the device in the log is xx:xx:xx:xx:e6:01 which is a bluetooth mouse. I also tried my wirless headphone but the problem is the same.
