Phrases like ā€˜snitches get stitchesā€™ were allegedly used. She is a mom of small kids.
But Claire Graham wouldnā€™t be silenced. She wasnā€™t satisfied with having written the best article on AWDTSG ever.
She followed it up with a show on BBC Radio Ulster talking about the financial harm men have suffered, losing jobs, being rejected at job interviews, and more.

2024.05.18 22:17 collected_call I (37F) just screwed things up with my casual/situationship (35M) by letting my baggage cause me to look a little crazy. Or maybe I'm not? Need advice.

I feel like I screwed up and let my crazy show. I was in a situationship with this guy for about 1.5 yrs and we had great chemistry, really clicked, spent Valentineā€™s together, weekly sleepovers, all the cliche things that I know donā€™t necessarily mean a guy still really likes you. So heā€™s super, super active on Instagram stories and there was a 2 month period where he was completely inactive. I went to his profile, noticed all his highlights were gone, and he has dozens of highlights. FYI, I used to work in marketing so know all of the social media inside and outs. I said nothing, then finally said, "Hey I know I may have overstepped and been anxious, but did you hide your Instagram stories from me? and he was like ā€œUh, well Iā€™m trying a social media detox. Iā€™ll change it back". And sure enough, highlights are back. And this is where I think I screwed up, like a crazy stalker. The only reason I keep Hinge is to keep tabs on him, and his location changed on a business trip. Again, I owned up and said "I know this isnā€™t my best behavior, I have baggage Iā€™m working on in therapy but I saw your location change, I felt a need to check bc of what happened on Insta. And he goes ā€œoh yeah itā€™s just when Iā€™m boredā€. Now he wants to take a break which I means is just an easy way into passive aggressively working into a breakup. The reason I got stalkerish bc there were lots of red flags (which I wonā€™t get into) that caused me to act this way and all along I knew he wanted something casual and clearly Iā€™m not in the headspace to date seriously. So I apologized and heā€™s like ā€œyeah, your texts about what you noticed caused me anxiety and was bad for my mental health. Because youā€™re absolutely correct about womenā€™s intuitionā€. He then said he felt like he wasn't in the headspace to commit to anyone and was like, let me know if your'e catching feelings or want something I can't give you. And then went into how we could maybe hangout soon but not hook up after a break. Anyway, I realized that I would rather him in my life as a casual situationship than not at all and I regret confronting him. The logical part of me realizes that if I have to engage in the insecure behavior I was engaging in, then the situation isn't healthy, I'm not healthy, or both. But I'm struggling and realizing that it probably wouldn't have come to this if I had not used social media/Hinge as of a way of confronting him. And realized that I could have kept them out of the equation all together, and used the "real life" red flags as examples and maybe it could have led to a more mature discussion.

2024.05.18 22:14 tsdenizen First time dating transmasc

Hey, first time here, just hoping to get some advice.
So I (30M) recently matched with someone (25NB) on an app and it seems to be going well. After chatting for a good chunk of the day, they asked to move off the app and we exchanged numbers the first day. The next day I asked if they wanted to meet up and they said yes, so Iā€™ve been rattling a few ideas around in my head for when Iā€™m more free in a week or so. We called for a bit mainly so I could find out their availability and they hit me with the ā€œyou read my profile and know Iā€™m transmasc, right?ā€ And I did, but I guess I felt bad that they were wondering if I knew? I dunno, I might be overthinking it, but Iā€™m interested in them and they seem to be interested in me and I guess it hit me that they felt the need to clarify after I asked them out. Maybe it shouldnā€™t surprise me but it still felt sad and like I might need to be more considerate.
Initially I figured itā€™s just not something to make a big deal about beyond the obvious respect/consideration. But I donā€™t want them to feel like theyā€™re in the dark about where Iā€™m at. Iā€™m very much a ā€œI like who I likeā€ type of person (itā€™s one of the few things I donā€™t overthink) but I donā€™t have experience dating transmasc before (I donā€™t date too often in general, Iā€™ve also never dated more than 2 years younger and I usually date older so itā€™s a lotta new!). So while I donā€™t have hangups about it, I also just donā€™t know how much I need to be thinking about it beyond using the pronouns, appreciating how they present, etc. Ultimately I just want us to hopefully have a good time together.
So, Iā€™m hoping to purge some of the overthinking in advance and ask for some advice. What do I need to be clear about? What should I be avoiding? Let me know if Iā€™m really just thinking too much! Any help is appreciated, they seem really sweet and Iā€™d hate to accidentally make them feel uncomfortable when thereā€™s no reason for it.

2024.05.18 22:13 paradox914 Opinions wanted on a new person who isn't my ex

Hey guys, I would love to hear opinions on what I got going on right now. This doesn't have to do with my ex but actually a different girl I was talking to shortly after my relationship had ended. I'll just jump straight into it. It's gonna be bit long, but for those of you who stick it out, I greatly appreciate it.
So, 6 months ago in November my ex broke up with me. It was a 3 1/2 yr relationship. About 3 weeks after the breakup, I decided to ask out a girl who was in my class at the time. I genuinely actually liked her as a person prior to the breakup. She would just come hang/study with me every day before class, and I genuinely enjoyed being around her. I had no intentions of getting into anything with her but one time thought to myself that if I wasn't in a relationship I would totally ask her out and want to get to know her on a more personal level.
Well, low and behold, I was dumped and now actually had the opportunity to ask her out. Idk what I was thinking at time that made it seem like a good idea to go straight into dating after coming out of a 3 1/2 yr relationship šŸ’€. But she said yes to going on a date. I told her we should wait till after finals, which she agreed to (we were in the last 2 weeks of the semester at that point, and the workload was crazy).
In this time, though, I was still in a lot of pain from my breakup and hurting. My ex was constantly on my mind. I was very emotionally unavailable to this new girl. I think to the point where she probably started having doubts by the time we finished the semester. I tried planning 1 date with her, and it didn't end up happening. It was around Xmas though and she had a lot of family stuff going on, which I understood. After Xmas passed, she messaged me apologizing for how busy she was and said we'd figure something out. I told her that was cool and just to let me know when she had time in her schedule. She said that was cool but never reached out about specifically about a date. But in this time her and I would message each other on instagram. We gamed online a little as well.
Once February hit and we hadn't gone on a date, I finally realized okay this is not going anywhere, and I was still deep in my healing process. Reality hit and I could see how not good the situation was that I was in. I never had told her about my breakup either. So by mid-February, I had lowered the amount of interaction to almost little to none hoping it would die out (terrible idea, I should have just communicated to her properly like an adult). But she would still send me stuff on Instagram, so I assumed okay is she still interested? So I messaged her and asked if she was still interested in going on a date, which she said yes to. I told her, though, that I wanted to talk to her over a call to talk about something important. I was going to be straight up to her about my breakup, which I felt was very important for her to know about if she were to invest anymore time into me. I didn't want to talk about it over text, though. She said she was busy atm so I told her it was okay and to let me know when she had some free time to talk. She said okay and I left it at that. I refused to take anything further without having that talk with her. She never reached out about the call but sent a reel here and there. I stopped replying to her and it finally just died out. I told myself I needed to just focus on me.
Fast forward to now. It's been 6 months after my breakup. I haven't had any contact whatsoever with my ex and could care less about anything that has to do with her, her life and what she does is none of my concern or business. I also haven't messaged the other girl since February. I've been committed to heavy personal growth and have detached and healed properly from my breakup. I've been working on my unadressed traumaus, attachment style, and anxiety by doing countless hours of workbooks, courses, and watching videos addressing my mental health and teaching me important skills that are required for a healthy relationship. I now feel like I am truly ready for another relationship.
Looking back on the situation I had started with the other girl, I feel so bad. I had no business asking her out at the time. I was completely in the wrong doing it. I was emotionally unavailable to her and probably came off like I didn't care much. She probably felt lots of mixed feelings cause of my mixed emotions and lack of effort/interest. And quiet frankly I don't blame her at all for how she was acting. I would be acting the same way in her position, having to deal with someone like me at the time.
Since then, I have run into her in person a few times, and we had decent short interactions. I would love to try again with her but properly. I just don't know if it's worth it. I already had put her through a rollercoaster, and we weren't even in a relationship. If I were to start up something again with her, I would want to have an actual conversation with her, apologize, and be straight up front about everything before moving anything forward just to clear things up (if she would even be open to the idea).
So I guess my question now would be, should I reach out to see if something can work? Or should I just leave it be? I don't care about being rejected, I'm just more afraid of disturbing her or making her upset or uncomfortable by reaching out. What's your guys' honest opinion and what would you do in this situation?
Thanks again for those who took the time read through all that. I greatly appreciate it :)

2024.05.18 22:08 Organic_Issue6381 When should I call CPS?

I know a lot of people say if you feel the need to ask, then I probably need to, but I feel like I'm too anxious to think properly. There's so much it's gonna be long.
My (23) fiance's (24) sister (Y 31) is getting back together with a piece of shit(D 42). She said so last night. They have two kids Niece(V 10) and Nephew(X 4). POS used to hit V the past 2 years because she wouldn't stay in his mom's livingroom and watch YouTube when she was supposed to be homeschooled. X has type 1 diabetes and D would let him eat whatever while Y worked 12-18hr shifts DAILY. He spent all of Y's money, especially the day before rent was due (so they also couldn't afford a lot of insulin).
D got mad at Y for the littlest things while she was home and made her clean and cook everything. He stays on his computer with headphones on all day (he started a streaming channel that's only live stream. Some lasted for as short as 6hrs to as long as 10hrs. He gave that up to get in online arguments).
They had to live in his mom's houses bc she only charged them $500 of rent. She'd come over to yell at Y for not taking better care of D and the kids. We offered to buy land, they pay a third and we'd pay the rest. They said yes and pulled out the last second, leaving us stranded and having to start over.
D confessed to having a crush on me since I was 17, two months ago, so they have been separated for less than a month. Me and my husband came over often to help clean and cook and watch niece. She'd been talking abt never getting with him and going for only women (she's bi and never got to date any women before this 12yr relationship). We even went to a club where she spent 4hrs making out with and grinding on a woman intermittently.
Y found out abt the beatings late last year and only told D to stop drinking. He agreed but didn't go to AA. D told V he'd stop hitting her if she was good, which is when she started being a people pleaser to him and a brat to Y. I feel like he said more besides that, otherwise why has V been so mean to her mom? Everyday she talks abt her dad and living in his state (he moved there when they separated to be with his mom and took X but not V). Last week we saw a picture of X with a couple bruises on the side of his face and head and D took the phone when X said he missed his mom. Idk if I should believe that X fell off the couch or not.
Y said she's gonna be with D in his state (she hates it there and all the people he surrounds her with) even though he lied abt going to therapy when he got there. She said they'll just do counseling when she gets there. (Idk where to add this but he also told V he was leaving to his state 1. Bc his mom was sick and his dad got in a car crash and 2. Bc my fiance and I were mean to him. We told him we didn't have a positive opinion of him, which he was surprised about.)
Y's an adult who can make her own decisions but idk if this is a good decision to make. Regardless I have no say, but i dont see this turning out well for the kids or her.
She's willingly making her mom homeless (my MIL lives with Y) and has said she will be going low contact with us bc we were so willing to join in her "unwarranted" anger with D. I do not feel like this is a decision she is willing to make or that this will turn out well at all. Bad vibes all around but I've also been told I'm too invested in this even though I only had one conversation with Y abt what she would like to do in the future and if there was anything we could do to help her.
Do I have a good reason to be worried and call CPS a week after she moves there? Is this at all a normal family? I'm very anxious and hypervigilant when it comes to kids bc I was severely abused and neglected when I was younger, but I tend to overreact and pick apart behaviors in kids that make my mind go crazy with scenarios. That's why I tried my best to only put things I'm certain happened and a bit of how I feel.
Tl;Dr BIL-in-law is abusive in my eyes. I don't think the kids nor my SIL will be safe living with him. Should I call CPS a week after they move to another state?

2024.05.18 22:04 Wonderful-peony Google voice for OLD?

I am new to online dating, and really dating in general after a 12 yr marriage. How does google voice work? I signed up for a number, and texts come to my email. If I respond to the texts in my email, does it show them as coming from the phone number or my email? Does the recipient know I am using google voice? What is the practical protocol here? I would rather not give out my actual phone number or other identifying information until I have met someone in public (and in a very public place... like a coffee shop next to a police station or something).
Also, the spelling on my first name is somewhat distinctive and I don't generally care for any of the nicknames. Would you be offended if you learned later that someone had not given their true first name? I would likely use a middle name, plausible nickname or an alternate spelling... not a complete fabrication, but not what I would want to be called in a long term relationship.
In addition, I would really rather not be approached by past dates or people from dating sites in real life, especially if my children are with me. Any way to respectfully communicate this? Any other safety suggestions?

2024.05.18 22:03 i_have_big_questions Update for those curious

Posting on my profile because I donā€™t want to take up space meant for trans people - weā€™re doing great!
Summary of recent excitement!
A few weeks ago we celebrated my youngestā€™s birthday.
A week ago my kids made her Motherā€™s Day gifts at school, and she got gifts from me and the kids after we went as a group to visit my late wifeā€™s grave. She was giddy all day and has been happy crying occasionally all week.
About a month ago said she wanted to sell her house since she lives here 4-5 days a week, so we're starting that process.
We go on formal date nights weekly, which has been great for us, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Weā€™ve done a few sessions of couples counseling to discuss marriage and family ideas but right now our plan is to keep taking things slow. Relationship-wise things are incredible right now. This is the honeymoon phase for sure but we donā€™t argue about much except who gets to cook. Our sex life is amazing. Weā€™ve planned our first couple vacation for about a month out when my workload drops a bit and sheā€™s finished all her reports with enough time for re-inspections.
I cook most nights because it soothes me, but it turns out that she is AMAZING with Italian food, and the kids like her dinners more than mine sometimes.
Honestly I have no complaints. Iā€™ve gotten a lot of requests for updates so I figured Iā€™d let yā€™all know how things have been doing since Reddit helped me find the courage to ask her out to begin with.

2024.05.18 21:58 Stingy_Arachnid Please help! Waiting on vet appointment but considering emergency vet

Our dog has been coughing for the past few days so I made an appointment request with our vet. Itā€™s not a persistent cough but when she first gets up to walk around she has a dry cough and has been hacking some. She stayed over at a boarding facility for one night last week so I figured she picked something up there (she is up to date on her heartworm/flea/tick/kennel cough meds but I get the occasional email from the owner that a few dogs ended up getting sick with something else).
Sheā€™s still wanted to play and eat so I figured it wasnā€™t urgent and that next week would be fine to get her seen. We just took her on a walk and I noticed that part of her stool appeared to be dark red in color. I donā€™t have a picture of it but Iā€™m worried after reading online that thatā€™s a bad sign.
Sheā€™s still been eating and drinking and has seemed happy but Iā€™m debating on whether or not she needs to go to the emergency vet. Sheā€™s a spayed ~5 year old mixed breed (looks like an English Shepherd). She eats Taste of the Wild Salmon food and thatā€™s it. We donā€™t give her any people food and she isnā€™t one to get into things so I doubt she ate something.
Thank you for any input!!

2024.05.18 21:57 Downtown-Gur-3799 Negative tests, but have lots of symptoms, and feel different

Trying to figure out if Iā€™m pregnant or if something else is going on. So here is a little background (long post).
On 4/20 / 4/21 I had unprotected sex.
Based off my April period that started on 4/8, my conception date wouldā€™ve been between 4/19-4/25 (used a calculator online)
Based off my last period, implantation couldā€™ve taken place between 5/12-5/16 (used a calculator online)
My May period was supposed to begin on 5/7 but there was no bleeding until 12:00 AM on 5/12. I took 2 tests on 5/11 and it came back negative.
The bleeding started out brown and very light flow. From there it became light red color mixed with the brown and still very light flow. I never had to wear a tampon, just a panty liner or pad and neither ever filled up completely. This began to slow down on 5/15 which where became all brown again and was just spotting, on 5/16 it was all watery discharge with a brown tint to it. There was no clotting, no heavy bleeding, not my usual dark red color, there was slight shedding on the lining.
Since 5/16, I have started getting more strange symptoms. Sensitive to smells to the point of causing some gagging, metal taste in my mouth when drinking Gatorade, water, & pb&j, the smell of bbq sauce makes me gag and so does the taste. A couple days before this I had the same meal with bbq sauce and I was fine. I then started getting what they call ā€œlightening crotchā€ (new to me) in my vaginal and rectal areas that are sharp shooting pains that come on suddenly and leave quickly. I also have had the most mild cramps since 5/12ā€¦ not like my usual period cramps.
Throughout the week, I took more testsā€¦ all came back negative. Took another this morning, came back negative. I am super low energy, sleeping a lot, constant lower back ache, and head ache. Not to mention, I was diagnosed with bronchitis (was only coughing up mucus consistently, no other symptoms) back at the end of Marchā€¦ went on a steroid then anti biotic. The symptoms went away for a short period and since around the time I wouldā€™ve conceived I have been coughing up mucus daily.
Iā€™ve never been pregnant but just have felt so different since 5/12.
What would you do? Chalk it up to not being pregnant? Wait to test again because maybe testing was too early? Wait to see if my June period comes? Get bloodwork done? See the doctor? Have any of you gone through this? Iā€™m accepting all advice at this point lol. Thank you in advance!
Medical background: 1. Had irregular periods for year but have been extremely regular like to the day since January 2022. 2. A few years back, I was told I have a slightly heart shaped uterus by my obgyn. 3. I have a j-pouch - I donā€™t have a colon.
Other symptoms - lots of bloating around when my period was supposed to come, hip aches, vivid dreams, out of breath SO easily, burping more after eating or drinking, gagging when brushing my teeth, and sweat down there.

2024.05.18 21:55 VolkerBach In Praise of the Pig (c. 1340)

In Praise of the Pig (c. 1340)
https://www.culina-vetus.de/2024/05/18/in-praise-of-the-pig/
The Kƶnig vom Odenwald is finished, but I will still need to do some work on the final edit and think about what to do with it. Meanwhile, here is another poem in praise of the pig:
https://preview.redd.it/jmuk8m0ip81d1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ac485fda4996e589c1fb007c5c6e225eec5fab3
IX This is a poem about the pig
And its usefulness
And it was made skilfully
By the kunig vom Otenwalde
As I have nothing new at this time
Many people say: ā€œVery well,
We should have something new,
Kunig, make us a new poem!ā€
If I have to write something new
I will write about the pig.
Their squealing should gladly be tolerated
Sour liver (lebersoln) come from them
Filled and roasted
Happy are those who have them!
Boiled and smoked
They lose none of their virtue.
Now I should look at
Sausages in four manners
Made with brain and with blood
And also hot liver sausages
And sausages of sheer meat (brod = brƤt)
Those last long
Roasts by the embers
Give you joy
Bread catching dripping (betreift sniten) underneath
It is no wonder
Head, ears, tail, feet
And one part it digs with (the snout)
And the four pig legs
In vinegar and galantine
Tongue, spleen, and stomach
Of this, I, the kunig, must say
Of this come side dishes
Now hark what I say!
You also use the bladder well
Wherever it is useful.
You have bacon with peas
In your chickens and on a spit
And where there are boiled chickens
You must have bacon and parsley with them.
Further, I always serve
Fried lardons (grieben) in mus and on porridge
Pancakes and filled fritters (krepfelin)
All come from the pig
Dumplings from the rump (buzl)
Appear to be so small
But they are noble (like) venison (wiltbreht).
I will tell you more about the pig:
Shoulders and hams
Nourish nursemaids and women in childbed
Fat cabbage (kruot) come from the pig
Bride and bridegroom eat of that
This is common custom.
All foods are improved with it
Adding a little bacon to fish
I never forget to do this
Use your teeth if you can
Women and men both!
To use the large bellies and lard
You must have salt
You use it to smear on many things
Wagon sides (leitern) so they become smooth
Books, saddles, bucklers,
are protected steadily (by greasing)
And smiths always wear
A (pig)skin apron over their skin
Straps on the helm
Are carried on the field
Points and straps
Are inexpensively bought
The strop for the razor
I have heard and seen this
Is needed to swipe over often
When you wish to shave beards.
You also find, made of the skin
Belts, broad and narrow
I also tell you of the bristles
That they are used to brush hair
And every cobbler
Cannot be without bristles
Weavers and painters, too
Have need of bristles
And also every goldsmith
Works with them.
With bristles you make
Glasses clean, if you know how
And the noble bristles are
Put into the holy water sprinkler
Which is used in good intent
So God may have us in his protection.
The kunig has made this poem
Whoever can write a better one should do so.
This poem completes the series praising domestic animals, following the cow, goose, chicken, and sheep. While it mentions technical applications for pig products, its main focus lies on food. Pigs were kept primarily for eating.
The defense of the pig whose squealing seems to have annoyed people begins with a mention of lebersoln. I am not fully sure what these are, but I suspect it is a reference to the frequently attested roasted mashed liver wrapped in a caul. That certainly seems to have been a popular and exclusive dish. Sausages, made with brain, liver, blood, or sheer meat, are specifically addressed as four main types. This seems to be a mental classification that was current. We have surviving recipes for blood sausages, liver sausages, and the high-status bratwurst made from muscle meat. Some surviving recipes involving brain, too, may describe sausages, but I am less confident in identifying those. The poem does not mention lung sausages, a type we have several surviving recipes for. That may be owed to local custom, personal dislike, lack of status, or any other reason you care to imagine. Certainly people ate every part of the pig, and sausage making was a creative discipline.
Next, the poem mentions roast pork and the joy of eating the drippings with bread ā€“ betreift sniten possibly placed under the roast during cooking, though in my opinion more likely spread on toasted slices or loaves afterwards. I can attest to the fact that this is delicious. The feet, snout, ears and tail are cooked in a galantine. This is harder to interpret than it seems because the various words used to describe jelly today could refer to gelatin, but also to thickened sauces at the time. Clearly, though, these fiddly meat bits were cooked, taken apart, and served in an accressible and highly seasoned form.
The next section addresses bacon (speck), a useful ingredient in all kinds of dishes. This could refer to anything from mostly meaty salt-cured pork belly to mostly fat, white RĆ¼ckenspeck. Interpreting individual recipes can be fraught that way, but it is likely cooks chose what they found served best. One especially interesting note is the poetā€™s injunction that boiled chicken must always be served with bacon and parsley (here likely meaning the root boiled with the meat). There may be the germ of a recipe in this line. Pig fat is also used as a cooking medium, which provides the connection to pancakes and the broad class of krepfelin fritters. The word usually means a filled fritter like a dumpling, but is often used for other kinds of fritter as well. The lardons (grieben) produced when rendering lard were another way of adding meaty richness to non-meat dishes, served with porridges and vegetable purees.
Two social practices are mentioned as asides: Pork shoulders and ham, probably dry-salted and smoked, are served to nursing mothers and fat kraut, most likely a cabbage dish, at weddings. We have other mentions of this and it seems to have been a custom early on. Addiong bacon to fish while culinarily plausible seems a daring suggestion given that fish was mainly eaten during Lent. It would not be a problem on meat days, obviously, so such recipes likely existed, but to find it stated as common practice in a clerical environment is a slight surprise.
What follows is a list of technical applications: Pigskin used in aprons razor, strops, helmet straps, and all kinds of other roles, pig fat for greasing leather, and bristles for sewing, in brushes, and in holy water sprinklers, the noblest avocation a humble pig could aspire to. Interestingly, we also learn that drinking glasses, still a luxury item, were kept clean using brushes. This kind of detail makes reading the Kƶnigā€™s poems so rewarding.
Der Kƶnig vom Odenwald (literally king of the Odenwald, a mountain chain in southern Germany) is an otherwise unknown poet whose work is tentatively dated to the 1340s. His title may refer to a senior rank among musicians or entertainers, a Spielmannskƶnig, but that is speculative. Many of his poems are humorous and deal with aspects of everyday life which makes them valuable sources to us today.
The identity of this poet has been subject to much speculation. He is clearly associated with the episcopal court at WĆ¼rzburg and likely specifically with Michael de Leone (c. 1300-1355), a lawyer and scholar. Most of his work is known only through the Hausbuch of the same Michael de Leone, a collection of verse and practical prose that also includes the first known instance of the Buoch von guoter Spise, a recipe collection. This and the evident relish with which he describes food have led scholars to consider him a professional cook and the author of the Buoch von Guoter Spise, but that is unlikely. Going by the content of his poetry, the author is clearly familiar with the lives of the lower nobility and even his image of poverty is genteel. This need not mean he belonged to this class, but he clearly moved in these circles to some degree. Michael de Leone, a secular cleric and canon on the WĆ¼rzburg chapter, was of that class and may have been a patron of the poet. Reinhardt Olt whose edition I am basing my translation on assumes that the author was a fellow canon, Johann II von Erbach.
I only translate the poems that deal with aspects of food or related everyday life here. There are several others which are less interesting as sources. They can be found in the newest extant edition by Reinhard Olt, Kƶnig vom Odenwald; Gedichte, Carl Winter Verlag, Heidelberg 1988.

2024.05.18 21:53 IlluminaNight I need to start earning money even if it's just a little bit. Has to be online

I need help figuring out the best way for me to start finding work online. I'm 24 female. I have four months where I'm completely free and I really want to earn some money. For personal reasons I can't do on-site work. As for my skill set I have average digital art skills. I tried making a YouTube channel and a fiverr profile where I made a gig to make custom artwork for people and one for logo design but no luck yet. I know these type of things take time but I might not have much time. So if any one has any advice on what I could do. I'm willing to learn new skills as long as they don't take too long to learn. I need some guidance or if any one has any experience. Any help will be appreciated.

2024.05.18 21:52 BonomanNL [REQUEST][RISK OF RAIN 2] Survivors of the void dlc [Attempt 1]

Hello everyone!
I have bought Risk of Rain 2 a few days ago. I am really loving it but dont have any more money to spend right now, but i heard the dlc is very fun. I would love to get this dlc and play this with my friend!
Due to a lot of my irl friends being really busy with homework, not many people can game anymore with me. I have a good online friend who ivplay risk of Rain with. I would love to spend more time in this game with him, and this dlc would do that for me.
I have always liked roguelikes, but every game i tried just had "roguelikes aspects" and was not enough for me. Now i have found an actual 100% roguelike and i am loving it. I will buy more roguelikes in the future when i have more to spend. I want to have as much replay ability for this game so i have a lot to do while i dont have money to spend.
Also, its in sale right now, so thats why i am asking right now because i dont want to ask for too much!
This is the page for the expansion: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1607890/Risk_of_Rain_2_Survivors_of_the_Void/
And my steam profile: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561199094341127/
Now let me talk about the game itself:
Its everything i expected from a roguelike, but so many fun things to do. You start, and it all feels really weak and empty, but after the first few items you struggle a lot less and actually have nothing to kill. Your strength keeps growing, but so do the waves of enemies and the strength of the bosses. Every stage has its own amazing gimmick and layout, and are all beautifully designed.
Ohhh, and dont get me started in the soundtrack. The OST is AMAZING! its always really fitting in every situation and i am sometimes literally not even talking because i want to enjoy the music.
The items that makes you stronger are also very fun, and learning how to create a good combination and synergy is an amazing point about this game.
Luckily for me, i have a good online friend who teaches me the tips and tricks in the game, and we always have a lot of fun.
I never had actual long friendships online, only for a month or two. This is not going on for long but we have been talking a lot and i am grateful for him helping me trough the game, and being friends even though we have never seen eachother.
I hope this shall last and that i can enjoy my time with him in this game, and thats why i am asking for this expansion.

I'd like to share with you some details that I'm including in my messages. Please speak from your own heart and mind expressing your desire to read about this important event and others like it. Maybe the news story is that this conference took place and it isn't being adequately reported??Here are some highlights from my messages:
-Suicide is a leading cause of death for those suffering from MECFS and Long Covid.
-Conference organizers were LC patients who saw Lauren's posts on twitter and her plea to tell the world what is happening.
-Unite to Fight 2024 was organized in just a few months on a shoestring-crowdfunded budget and over 10,000 people attended online with over 40 speakers and 20 hours of content over two days (May 15-16, 2024).

2024.05.18 21:50 SpecificFan5698 Iā€™m so lonely

I feel so alone. I have no one. I make friends but it never lasts, they always pull away. I can tell people donā€™t like me. Iā€™ve been single for years. People donā€™t try to talk to me or date me. Iā€™m 26.
I just feel so alone. So so alone. I feel like a failure for being this way. Like Iā€™m supposed to be ā€œnormalā€ or ā€œhealthyā€ and that means having friends & relationships.
I got accepted into grad school for counseling psychology (to be a therapist basically) but I just feel inadequate, I shouldnā€™t be a therapist if my life is like this. If I have no relationships.
I currently nanny & I love it. I love taking care of babies all day. They are sweet & innocent.
Most people & adults dissapoint me. They are judgmental and cliquey. I never measure up to people like that. People can be nice on the surface, but I always feel itā€™s fake, I trust my intuition & know Iā€™m right.
I just wish I could find my people. People who like me for me. People I donā€™t have to pretend to be someone they want me to be.
I canā€™t afford therapy rn btw
