This show's theme song was kinda simple with I think piano with a woman singing. It kinda had a "super spy" kinda vibe. I remember a part of the theme song where the woman tells about the dangers in the show and it shows a grey looking big space ship in outer space. The main character is a little boy kid with I think a red balloon and his outfit looking a lot like a red superhero. His friends are aliens and he has a mom. I remember his house's walls looking a bit white. And I think he has to defeat some kind of alien villain. I hope I can find this show!

Hi, the past few days I had to think about about the Guardian, some of the issues the class has as it is right now, and how I would go about fixing them. I had a lot of (What I think to be) cool ideas and now want to share them across a few posts on this sub. This post is one of those. I will first write down the ideas I had as rules, and then later add some comments explaining my thoughts and reasoning behind those ideas.
Disclaimer: This is not me saying that this is what the Guardian SHOULD BE. I also don't claim that these changes would even necessarily be for the better. My goals with these posts is not to dictate how to make the Guardian properly. My goals with these posts is discussing potential issues with the Class (many of which have already been pointed out, some of which I haven't seen discussed much), talking about potential ways of fixing them and discussing game design in general, but primarily, my goal with this is just to share and discuss some cool ideas I had because I love homebrewing :). And how knows, maybe a Paizo designer stumbles across one of these and takes some inspiration, but that would already be far more than I would hope to accomplish.

This will probably the longest post. Here I go into the primary class options my homebrew Guardians would be able to choose from. At the end I discuss some feat ideas I had, some of which should replace feats I turned into class features. _______________________________________________________________________________________

Keyword Intercept:

Some abilities refer to this. These are the rules for intercepting
Intercept You attempt to redirect an effect away from an ally to yourself. Generally, only targeted effects can be intercepted. Attempt a check using your Class DC - 10 + your armors item bonus against the enemies relevant DC or 10 + the enemies relevant modifier. -Critical Success: As success, but you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to the relevant defense. -Success: You are in time. The effect targets you instead of your ally. You can still choose to split the damage like with the failure condition. -Failure: You are barley too late. If the effect causes damage, your ally takes half and you can take the other half. You an your ally only apply half your usual resistances against that damage. -Critical Failure: You fail to Intercept

Defensive Strategy

While all Guardians are specialists of protecting their allies, the way they go about doing so differs from Guardian to Guardian. Choose 2 of the following abilities. You Subclass will grant you a third one.
Tackle Ally ⟳ Trigger: An willing ally you are adjacent is about to be subject to a hostile effect. Effect: Before the effect resolves, you push the ally 5 feet away from you and enter their space yourself. This is forced movement. If their is not enough space for either, this ability fails. If the triggering effect was targeted, you also try to Intercept it. If the triggering effect was an area effect and the ally is now outside the area, they aren't affected.
Command Attention ◆ or ◆◆ (mental) Duration: Until the end of your next turn. Area: 15-foot or 30-foot emanation. Effect: All enemies in the area are taunted 1. The area depends on the actions spend.
Danger Sense Whenever you are in the presence of a hidden threat (Such as a potential ambush, traps, hidden weapons ect.) the GM secretly rolls a Perception check against a relevant DC (Usually the Stealth DC of the creature/object). On a success you spot the danger, on a critical success you or an ally of yours gains a +1 circumstance bonus on the relevant defensive stat for the purpose of the first check made to resist the spotted threat.
Hampering Sweeps ◆ Like the feat, but enemies can attempt a Reflex save against your class DC. -Success: They get away -Failure: They can't get away -Critical Failure: They can't get away and can't take move actions for the rest of their turn.
Taunting Strike ◆ (flourish) You Strike an enemy. If you hit they are taunted 1 (Taunted 2 on a critical).
Challenge ◆ (mental) Range: 60 feet Duration: 1 round. Effect: The enemy has to attempt a Will save against your Class DC. -Critical Success: They are unaffected. -Success: They are taunted 1. -Failure: They are up to taunted 2 (Your choice). -Critical Failure: They are up to taunted 2 for up to 2 rounds (Your choice).
Blanket Defense ◆◆ Like the feat.
Body Block ◆◆ Area: 5-foot emanation. Duration: Sustained up to 3 rounds. Effect: Whenever the line-of-effect of a ranged, targeted strike/ability/spell intersect the area, you can attempt to Intercept it. If the effect is a burst, line or cone and you are between an affected ally and the areas origin, you can attempt the same check as the one when you would Intercept, but it has the following effects: -Critical Success: As success but you get a +1 circumstance bonus to the relevant defense instead. -Success: Only you are affected and you take a -1 circumstance penalty to the relevant defense. -Failure: Both you and the ally are affected as normal.
Covering Statue You always provide Standard Cover instead of Lesser Cover to allies and allies can Take Cover behind you to upgrade this to Greater Cover.
Guard Ally ◆ Targets: An ally adjacent to you. Duration: Until the end of your next turn. Effect: As long as you are still adjacent to the target, you can Intercept all targeted effects the ally is subject to. If the ally moves, you can Stride up to your speed as a reaction, but you have to Stride towards the allies current position.
Guardian Lore You gain "Guardian Lore". You can use "Guardian Lore" to Recall Knowledge about offensive statistics and abilities and about ways of mitigating them. Your proficiency in Guardian Lore increases to expert at 3rd level, to master at 7th level and to legendary at 15th level.

Feat Ideas

Taunting Strength --- Feat 2 When you succeed at an Athletics check against an enemy, they have to make a Will save against your class DC. On a failure they are taunted 1 for 1 round (Taunted 2 on a critical failure). If you Athletics check was a critical success, they decrease their degree of success by one step.
Slowing Strike ◆ (flourish) --- Feat 6 Make a Strike against an enemy. If you hit, they need to make a Fortitude save against your Class DC. If your hit was a critical hit, they decrease their degree of success by 1 step. -Critical Success: They are unaffected. -Success: They take a -5 foot status penalty to their speed for 1 round. -Failure: They take a -15 foot status penalty to their speed for 1 round. -Critical Failure: They are Immobilized for 1 round.
Ground Stomp ◆◆ --- Feat 8 You stomp the ground so hard that it becomes uneven and difficult to walk through. The ground in a 10 foot emanation becomes difficult terrain. All creatures in the area must attempt a Reflex save against your Class DC. On a failure they loose 10 feet of their next Stride action. On a critical failure they also fall prone.
Don't Run! --- Feat 10 When an enemy is taunted by you, moving away from you is difficult terrain.

Comments

I want to start by saying, that while there was a lot of though behind some of these, other more just proof of concepts, and I realize that these options are probably not balanced yet.
There are a few things I tried to accomplish with these changes
  1. I think that the Guardian is thematically closer to an Archetype than a Class. Its about protection in two very specific and niche ways. I think, that while for archetypes to have a very specific/limited scope/theme, classes need to be more open ended, or if they are specific in theme (Like the Thaumaturge) they need to have a very strong theme. And even those very specific classes (Thaumaturge, Psychic, Gunslinger) usually have a lot of choices and different ways of being played/build. I think this is something the Guardian still lacks. I come back to this in my post about Class Mechanics & Subclasses, but I tried to expand the theme from "Very specific video game-esk semi-tank" to being about "Protection in various different ways".
  2. I wanted to provide players with interesting choices and make it so that different Guardians can actually be very different.
  3. I tried to balance some broken options.
  4. I turned some Feats that I think are very fitting for the class into general class options that you can take at level 1.
  5. I wanted these abilities to fulfill the "tank" fantasy better. Gameplay of tanks generally centers around positioning and space-control. So I added some abilities that allow you to engage with that aspect of strategy.

Dream and Shadow aspects
A puppetry Path. Taking control over non sapient Remnants and using them for combat.
Dream for dominating their minds; Shadow for its (overshadowing) domineering, binding (your shadow sticks to you) and copying (your shadow copies you) nature.
It's a Natural Spirit / Remnant utilizing Path, similar to those practiced in Everwood, but the relationship is a bit different - the Sacred Artist totally dominates the spirit rather than acting more like a partner, and the nature of their bond is also different, a Soul Oath Contract isn't necessary (but it is possible... assuming compatible madra types - unless you're comfortable switching Paths entirely).
It also resembles the Beast King's Path, but focused on spirits and Remnants, rather than Sacred Beasts, and it's angled towards control rather than communication and cooperation.
Madra is a dark violet in colour, with shining violet stars. Cycling this madra tends to make one feel more confident and possessive, similar to Blackflame of the Black Dragons and and Flowing Flame of the Gold Dragons respectively.
Goldsign from Stringed Bones Remnants tend to take the form of ethereal black ribbons tied above the joints of the fingers (that means every joint, of every individual finger), the wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, waist, knees, ankles.
The Path is also compatible with Night-Drinking Peacocks, which may grant them its hypnotic tail feathers as their Goldsign; or the Moonlight Ensnaring Cuckoo bird, its vicious yet delicate talons; or the Snake-Eating Sagittarius bird, its dreamweaving crest to protect their own minds; and finally, there's also the Somnolent Songbird, which grants them a pharynx that allows them to imitate its birdsong which grants anyone sleeping and dreaming around it to become conscious in their dreams. They have been trying to get functional wings, but it seems the heavens themselves deny them their wish.
Strengths & Drawbacks
Though the Path offers great force multiplier benefits at lower levels of advancement, it requires significant resource investment to stay competitive at higher stages of the Sacred Arts. Also, while having a veritable swarm of Remnants to unleash upon your enemies - while you yourself remain safely further back - sounds amazing, there are some downsides to consider as well: this Path does not offer you direct personal combat power, you need to rely on your Remnant minions for that, which also means you need to catch stronger Remnants somehow and/or share advancement resources with your minions, on whom you depend on for protection, while keeping a careful balance to not let them get too powerful and slip the leash. Swarm tactics might work at the lower stages of the Sacred Arts, but it gets more and more unfeasible as you advance - as you have to deal with the Soulfire baptized bodies of your opponents, and even further up with willpower shenanigans.
Techniques
Shamanism: their spirit domination technique. Subjects the target's mind and spiritual functions to the artist's control, puppeteering them. It only works on Remnants and spirits. Their Path is not suited towards dominating the minds / living spirits of Sacred Artists, unless they're much weaker than you or weakened somehow - though attempting to do so can be used as a mental / spiritual attack. They technically can dominate Sacred Instruments, which could be very useful for dodging hits and taking an opponent by surprise.
Ventriloquism: their partial spirit domination technique, much faster than Shamanism and this speed is the main advantage of this technique, taking control of a Remnant quickly in an emergency. This technique is also used in (slightly) more partnership-like relationships between the artist and Remnant, as well as in situations where the Remnant's natural instincts would be more useful, or simply to reduce the number of minions they need to control directly - not totally suppressing their mind and power, but issuing them compulsion commands / subjecting them to your will.
Incarnation: allows a Sacred Artist to use a Remnant minion as an... "avatar", inhabiting their form / wearing their skin by utilising the connection between them and the Remnant's suppressed mind and will. It's basically a method to project their madra from a distance without needing an actual Soul Oath Contract. They mostly used it to subdue and induct new Remnant minions. Very madra intensive to perform; also the minion that served as the vessel would need to vent any remaining madra lest their core get permanently tainted.
Sovereignty: their Enforcer technique, allows them to oppose and undo any mind or spirit affecting techniques on themselves. Can also be used as a mental and spiritual focusing aid, keeping them on track while performing repetitive or exhausting tasks and for keener spiritual control.
False Darkness: their Ruler technique to hide in shadows, most effective in dense urban or forested or rocky terrain (because a random blob of darkness in the middle of a field is hardly inconspicuous). They hide using this technique while sending their Remnants ahead to fight or to scout around.
Jade Cycling Technique
Netherworld Karmic Ties: a Cycling Technique that has an binding and pulling in addition to a whirlpool to draw in a Remnant to advance to Gold. This characteristic association with strings also ties in to its benefits: it helps with long distance projection of madra.
Iron Body
Iron Fist Iron Body: a classic, simple and basic Iron Body that grants strength and durability benefits to the Sacred Artist. It's better suited for more directly physical combat focused Paths, but in this case it serves to offset the lack of personal power in the Path. Requires martial arts prowess to properly showcase its strength, which is dealing powerful physical blows.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (How would you rate this game?)
This is my experience with the story mode. Keep in mind that it differs from person to person and you shouldn’t compare yours with that of the others. ⬇️
💟 (Phenomenal) ✅ (Very Good) ✴️ (Good) ⛔️ (Bad)
STORY 💟
Storytelling 💟 - Starting with the low life gangsters and rising to the top of the world, just to be reminded where you came from. - Each mission has its own storyline, be it a simple job, a date, a well planed heist or a complex robbery. - Tenpenny vs CJ was a good battle, way too stretched and way too one sided though. Only the final mission had the chips turned upside down. - The Driver game by Reflections was played by nearly everyone during some cutscenes, funny how all of them sucked at it, myself included.
Characters 💟 - CJ was a good character. Way too vulnerable in my opinion. Everyone from the start of the game was pushing him around, using him, not taking him seriously, and what’s even worse, even by the end, I didn’t feel any power emanating from him. - Tenpenny and Samuel L. Jackson’s performance made this game a thousand times better. The lines, calmness, just two fucks given, a real motherfucker! - Catalina and Claude, yeah, Claude from GTA III made a cool presentation of how crazy women can be. She kept calling CJ throughout the game and expressing her love in a weird manner. - Sweet was a dumb fool. Having an opportunity to get out of the hood and live the life, he chose to stay within it and remain a low life, dragging everyone with him. - Big smoke was all talk and didn’t appear on screen for too long, which was a good thing. His whole part in this game was very confusing and didn’t provide any meaningful input. - Woozie was my favourite. Even when blind, he always knew that whichever path he followed, it would lead him to HIS destination.
Setting 💟 - The whole California vibe was incredible. - Starting with the low life hoods, then moving towards the unknown forests, deserts, and finally reaching the big city with all the casinos. - Los Santos was super detailed and didn’t lack any of its vibe.
Pacing ✴️ - Somewhat good. Starting slow, then blasting through a variety of missions, and finally ending with a well balanced pace. - Some missions are badly stretched and lack the fast travel option. - Driving around for 10 minutes just to arrive at your destination and failing due to a technical flaw in the game’s design is the most painful thing you can endure, even Souls games didn’t give me that much grief.
GAMEPLAY ✅
Controls ✅ - Enjoyable but very confusing at the start. Coming from GTA III & Vice City, this was a heavy change. - The auto aim works wonders, although sometimes it’s better to use manual. - Cars feel very good and you can actually improve their skill and controls. - Boats are very enjoyable with the quick turns and acceleration. - Helicopters and planes have a heavy feel, each one with a different control and feeling. Some buttons like the R3 to retract the wheels are wrong.
Mechanics 💟 - Starting with the gang territories, they were frustrating. Each one was confusing to acquire and by the end, a chore. - Like in Vice City there were properties which you acquired by completing missions with the usual cash reward. I so wished there was a taxi one which gave you the fast travel option. - There were some missions hunting bikers for cash and doing different jobs. - The gym for muscle growth, dating, driving, lung capacity and more, all of these had their meter to fill and felt like a chore. The flying and driving schools were cool though.
Exploration 💟 - Impressive for a game made in 2004. So many different buildings which weren’t marked on the map that you could enter. - Based on 3 huge islands there were a whole lot to explore. Starting with collectibles which provide special rewards, hidden weapons, cars, planes, and more. - The map was so huge that you could get lost within a city, sometimes the map was the only way you could escape.
Missions/Events ✅ - I loved each of them, but I hated their length. Some start and end very quickly, while the others have crazy long distances and make your finger hurt by pressing X for too long. - The diversity, pain and fun you had in each of them was a colourful experience. - Starting with the hood, the simplicity, and finishing with the casino heists, which required some crazy feats. For reference, the jet hijack was hilarious.
Difficulty ✴️ - Way harder than expected. The missions in themselves aren’t hard, it’s their longevity. - Advancing into a mission for 20 minutes just to fail due to the lack of health items is very painful. - The last mission was made by sadistic fucks. I think it went on for longer than an hour, and if you fail, you get to experience it all over again. The game was way too rushed if you ask me. - Very hard and incredibly frustrating, that’s what I’m going with.
SOUND DESIGN 💟
Surround Sound 💟 - I loved it. Each interaction, cutscene, music, cars, planes, everything was synched together delivering a beautiful experience. - Sometimes characters would fall behind and you’ll hear them as if it was real life. The distance was felt, effects made you exited, voices created feeling, all around great.
Sound Effects 💟 - Incredible for such a game. As soon as you start, you can feel each car’s engine, people talking to each other, planes flying on top of your head, police chasing criminals and so on. - CJ hurting, people dying, cars getting blown or destroyed, gunfire, tires, so many details that I can’t even write them all down.
Voice Acting 💟 - The game delivered some movie quality acting right here. I was so hyped when I hear S. L. Jackson, he really carried. - Each character had his own accent and personality. Transferring emotions through the screen is hard in a movie, let alone a video game, and this one delivered.
Music 💟 - Each to their own. There’re a whole bunch of radio stations from which you can choose your favorite one. I for once didn’t have a favorite, because each one was perfect in its own way.
VISUALS ✅
Fidelity 💟 - Astronomical achievement. I can’t believe this game came on a DVD and had these amazing details. - The field of view was short indeed, but on such a big scale, texture streaming was impressive. Even when flying through the city, it somehow kept up with the pace.
Performance ✴️ - I wouldn’t go as far as good, but I’d give it an acceptable vote. - Most of the time the frame rate was below 30 with terrible screen tearing and freezes. I do understand though, the game had revolutionary details.
Textures 💟 - Every single thing in Los Santos is incredibly detailed. You could stop by some houses in the wild and admire their design, pick a variety of cars while destroying them and wonder how they did it, look at NPCs in the world and follow their actions. - Each location is well made and doesn’t lack anything really, Rockstar’s craft is on another level.
Effects 💟 - From fires spreading through the wild, sandstorms, rain, waves and much more, such a cool vibe. - Flying around through the clouds and foggy cities was such a great experience!
COMBAT 💟
Flow 💟 - Good progression through enemies. Each one has a health bar, some can be killed with headshots or running them over. - The gore and head explosions are cool. I wish there was total body dismemberment though. - Free aiming is difficult at times, until you get the sensitivity right.
Diversity 💟 - Starting with a normal car run over, then a knife in the neck, a silent shot to the skull, 30 shots to the body, even if already dead, a snipe to the genitals, a rocket to a chopper, a jet with missiles and much more. - So many creative ways to kill people that one can just wonder.
Enemy Variety ✅ - A bunch of gangsters, police, swat, bosses and more, the game has incredible NPC development. - Most of them have the same weapons and make your life harder, but overall very cool.
Weapons 💟 - Super fun and a whole lot of them. The dildo had me cracking. The ability to kill people with that thing already gave this game a 10/10! - Choppers have mini guns and rockets, same as jets but these have an auto aim system as well.
Stealth 💟 - I love stealth in games and this one didn’t disappoint. The way CJ sneaks behind enemies and delivers the final blow with that sweet sound effect is very pleasing. - Most missions have a choice, either sneak or go guns blazing.
DRIVING ✅
Flow ✴️ - Good driving around enjoying a beautiful landscape while listening to some great songs. - The problem lies in NPCs. They occasionally drive into you and cause mayhem. Other than that, they have no sense of awareness. You can sit at a light waiting for it to go green, and they will just honk at you endlessly while passing you aggressively. - Cars have weight and it shows, what I mean is how quickly they get upside down. Not to mention the fact that a car will always blow up if it does so, right?
NPCs ⛔️ - Dumb and critically aggressive. Sometimes you have to avoid them altogether to complete a mission.
Cops ✅ - Coming from previous GTAs, this game was somehow a relief. They were aggressive, sure, but not as aggressive as in previous titles.
Cars/Planes 💟 - Impressive variety. From normal to trucks and finally to super cars. - Boats have different ones with small, medium and large ones. - Helicopters have a cool variety too. Normal, combat, pickup, and so on. - Jets and planes have a unique feel. Some aquaplanes as well. Quite impressive!
Roads 💟 - Very detailed in every way. As an example, if you drive in the rain, the car would have a water print behind it, or the desert would have dust, even in water there’re waves. - Each one is well made and connects to each island through bridges.
WORLD DESIGN 💟
Atmosphere 💟 - The initial vibe wasn’t as good, all dark and without proper scale, but as you progress through the game, it expands like the universe itself. - You start discovering different locations, sights, landscapes, roads, cities and it becomes one of the greatest experiences on PS2.
Surroundings 💟 - Loved each city and desert. You could go on the highway and stop for a couple of seconds just because of the sunrise. Or drive through the city and see a yellow marker that doesn’t have anything on the map, so you go exploring. - Each part of the game has astonishing surroundings and level designs. You can get lost in it.
Landscapes 💟 - Extremely beautiful. For a 2004 game, I bet people back in the day were all ecstatic.
World Destruction ✴️ - Overall good, nothing too impressive on an environmental scale. - The usual car blowing up, planes, boats, motorcycles, and so on. - There’re a couple of locations where there’re some minor level changing destructions, but nothing too impressive.

Hi members of the CryptoMoonShots community. I believe BASE INU (BaseinuCT) is a potential moonshot opportunity because of the ticker and what it represents.
It is THE INU of the Base chain. I believe this simplistic idea can really catch on when the mainstream is introduced to the Base chain. A separate unrelated group even created a separate coin called Blast Inu on the Blast Chain because of the idea that every chain should have its INU. Eth has Shiba INU and Avalanche has COQ INU.
If we can establish a common narrative that every chain should have an INU then that's where BASE INU (BINU) comes in. While we are the only INU on the base chain, we do have some competitors worth mentioning (in the form of dog coins on the chain). One could argue that our biggest competitor is BENJI. As of this post it is at 15.9 million market cap. Other competitors include BSHIB (825k market cap) and BENTO (2.7 million market cap).
I believe we stand out due to our simple and fun design (simple is good in marketing), our numerous partnerships, and our upcoming NFT launch.     • Maybe it’s a resemblance to a certain reindeer, but Rudy’s always taken as much pride in delivering goodies as he does in his favorite pastime of taking to the skies with inflatable aircraft… He’s not especially careful aboard these dirigibles or hot-air balloons… but if he finds himself freefalling from these feline-friendly floats (and it’s happened many times before), he always manages to land on his feet. So when he spied a love letter addressed to Harriet lost in the brush on one of his airborne outings, Rudy saw it as his civic duty to trustily tend to its safe delivery… And to make sure his noble act of inspiration inspires as many as it should, he’s taken the opportunity to hire a bountiful brigade of blimps and balloons to celebrate the letter’s airborne journey, no expenses spared! For no other particular reason, it’s a raucous, helium-fueled festival starring an airship helmed by Boomer (who has no time for such foolishness but takes his piloting task with utter seriousness), and animals have come from miles around to watch the airshow as Rudy suddenly realizes how hard it is to make out Harriet’s address from the frankly indecipherable scribbles on the envelope. And what is “Harv”? Is that even a word? With refreshments from the balloon-fest food cart, viewers watch the proceedings through their handheld opera glasses as Rudy makes his grand pronouncements over the intercom of his 5-star balloon-fest airship. “Thanks everybody for all your support in completing our big mission. We were gonna hand-deliver this letter originally, but we figure there’s a pretty good chance this ‘Harriet’ is in the crowd somewhere, so we’ve made the decision to helpfully read it out loud for her own convenience, and also to, uh, save fuel and the environment. Ahem: ‘TO MY DEAR SWEET HATTIE. YOUR PRECIOUS PINK FUR IS MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN THE FRESHEST MORNING PEONY. BUT THIS AIN’T NO PUPPY LOVE. She keeps calling me her super-cute pet and won’t let me leave—she says it’s too dangerous for a bird like me. Is anybody home in that hollow noggin of hers, crunch? These wings of steel can beat up anybody! Holy moly, and the racket around here! She moved in with eighteen flocks of the loudest birds alive. I’m lucky if I get two winks of sleep! Peck’s Peaceful Paradise is a thing of the past—now it’s Twiggy’s Tweedledeelightful Chirpatorium, and she says she’s opening a new branch of Flora’s bird and breakfast retreat! When I tell her how hard I’ve worked these muscles to get here, she says that’s ‘just the way things are’ and the ‘fortune cookie powers that be’ have this stuff all hammered out! They check every nook in the bird-haven birdhouse, try to interview bird-lovers lounging on the redundantly named bird-haven birdy sofa… but with all the colorful bird-calling and caterwauling going on around them, they can scarcely hear any potential leads! They meet with Twiggy at the 5-star bird-haven tree, but it leads to more chicanery than answers… “ISN’T THIS PLACE THE TOTAL BEST? IT WAS SUCH A SNOOZEFEST BEFORE I GOT HERE, AND NOW IT’S, LIKE, A CHIRPY CHOIR CACOPHONY DELIVERED STRAIGHT IN MY EARDRUMS! WHAT’S THAT? WHERE? PECK? UH—I GUESS ON THE CHEEK, BUT ARE YOU SERIOUS? I JUST MET YOU! TALK ABOUT CHEAPERS CREEPERS! OH, YOU MEAN THAT HIGHTAILED HOTTIE WHO WAS HERE A COUPLE MONTHS AGO? I HAVE, LIKE, NO CLUE WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM, BUT I CALLED DIBS, SO IF YOU SEE HIM, HANDS OFF!” There’s no trace of Peck to be seen, but just then, that’s when Beardo and Merengue spot it—a handheld java sparrow perching on Twiggy’s forewing! This seems a dark coincidence… Did Peck make a brave avian escape, or did this burly boy-chick meet a perilous fate as a pet?! Beardo and Merengue keep watch on every bird and bird-watcher in this pet-filled paradise, but mum’s the bird among the patrons and no one’s making a peep… Just a cuckoo commotion that they can’t help consider would drown out a Java sparrow’s cry for help… Try to reach the bottom of a cheep trick of bye-bye birdie when this birdcagey cookie makes some noise May 17th GMT!​

    • For May’s scavenger hunt, we’ll be searching the very best hiding places around the various recreation spots to spy hide-and-seek gyroidites.   • Curlos and Pals
    • While there isn’t technically much datamined here, this update did add an animal batch under the name of “Curlos and Pals” to the date of May 25th GMT. It seems this will be after the next update as map assets haven’t actually been added yet for this batch, but we do know that “Gwen and Pals’ Island” will be joining Curlos’s island, likely as part of this batch. With only 8 animals left— Benjamin, Biff, Curlos, Gwen, Sydney, Velma, Freckles and Mott—it seems likely this means they will be finished releasing all the animals at the end of this month, but as of now, this is unconfirmed.
  • Happy Homeroom
    • This update included the typical 3 classes each for Harvey’s Colorful Picnic gardening event, Rudy’s airship cookie, the Kite Flying Fishing Tourney, Twiggy’s chirpy cookie, and the Hide-and-Seek Scavenger Hunt, as well as 8 classes each for new normal Courses 53 and 54.

Our fellow dataminer Koopavocelot has also spotted a noteworthy notice that may be coming this month but no info yet on its contents… Hopefully it’s not some sort of end-of-times apocalyptic alert with the last of the villagers likely coming out this month. Er… right? As for June, we’ll probably get the Twitter preview in only a week’s time. June is often themed around seasonal rain or weddings as they’re what the month is known for in Japan, and given that we just had a windy-themed event this month, I’d expect more of the latter matrimania for next month’s events. But who knows? We might get some of both in a dewy bridal shower! (Or maybe something completely different.) I’ll aim to have that datamine posted for you fine folks when the update drops ASAP. I'm 29/m, mum got me this rishta of a very nice girl, she's educated, working from home, homely and since she's from a village,very conservative and shy.
I've lived all my life in an urban City,both our families met and have liked each other, I've met the girl once she came with her parents,the thing is she's a dusky girl which I thought should never affect anyone until it happened with me, both families left the room and I tried talking with her to Lil to no response,she kept on looking downwards, answered in one/two words,when I said this to mum she told me that's how homely girls are they won't talk,if anything it's a good sign that girl is not so cunning.
I on the other hand am getting mixed emotions, it might sound stupid but earlier I used to watch beautiful brides and couple reels with tattoos etc. and have always thought "aww so cute" knowing it will someday happen with me too , now when I stumple upon such vids it fills me with dread.
I feel I'm losing my freedom, wanted to do so much in life but if I get married then it'll be kids in a year or two then I'll just be another middle class man doing chores.
I don't wanna lose this rishta and it's just not about her dusky colour, I've seen her from behind she's got a bangin body too, working from home and overall a perfect match in terms of AM but I'm just not excited? I'm partially unsure as to why I like his design so much but there are a few things I can say about it.
His suit looks simple(The first time I saw him I thought I could draw him cuz it looked really easy to draw but unfortunately I can't draw), it's got a really cool helmet (and I love characters who wear masks that cover their whole face), and I love the way his outfit utilises the colour blue.
Oh and one last thing, black holes. The black hole as his logo is just incredible.

People Involved

  • TikTok user unravel.me.now, face of Lore.fm and sole person appearing in all the official TikToks
  • WishRoll, the company behind Lore.fm that has previously made an AI-story-generating app, and was on Forbes 30 Under 30 for their music-sharing app Kiwi

Timeline

  • May 6 24 TikTok user unravel.me.now posted a TikTok titled "pov: you built a personal app for yourself that turns any ao3 fic into an audiobook but your mom is asking you what you're listening to when you're washing the dishes (it's a 90k word gojo x reader angsty slowburn).
  • From May 6 - May 16 the account continues to upload videos where the app allegedly goes from a personal project to a fully completed app called Lore.fm calling for Betas and eventually fully launching on May 16 2024 posting invite links & puzzle videos to guess the invite code of the day to generate buzz. The videos with the invite code puzzles have since been deleted since the screenshot below.
  • Throughout May 6 - May 18 (the time of posting for this write up) any negative comments or comments that expressed concerns were deleted by unravel.me.now. Any comments that contained polite questions deemed too difficult to answer were also deleted.
  • People with experience in creating and launching an app noticed that it is highly unlikely this was a simple personal project considering how fast it got everything together for launch. Later people began to research the creators of this app, but at this time any comments expressing suspicion this was a simple personal project striking lightning were deleted.
  • Each video marketed the app as "Audible for Ao3". Unlike Audible, which uses voice actors and gains full rights and permission from authors, Lore.fm used AI generated voices (created with voice actors who consented to their voices being used for AI) and did not ask for any permission.
  • The way the app was intended to work according to the Apple Store was that users could add any link they wanted and the app would generate an audiobook with the voice they selected. This data would be stored both locally and on Lore.fm's servers.
  • On TikTok, unravel.me.now was saying that eventually the app would have even more capabilities. Eventually the app developers wanted a "Spotify Wrapped" experience. They wanted a top charts list with most listened to fics on the platform.
  • In Lore.fm's TOS it explicitly bans using the app to circulate and disseminate various things like scams, solicitations, etc. This implies the app was always intended NOT to be only a personal library.
  • May 16 2024 officially launches in the Apple Store and the Google Play Store. It uses Archive of Our Own's urls in it's demo pictures. According to the opening paragraphs of the TOS there was no data scraping for AI learning nor was there any third party selling of data. According to Privacy Policy they work with third-party partners and services to obtain data about their users.
  • May 16 2024 The Privacy Policy on lore.fm confirmed that despite conflicting comments by unravel.me.now on TikTok, the app WOULD store a copy on the users device and on lore.fm's servers. Their policies stated that it was the users granting them permission, despite knowing for a fact their users would not be uploading material with a clear copyright in their name. "Information submitted to lore.fm will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States. When you use the Software on your computing device, User Content you save will be stored locally on that device and synced with our servers. If you post or transfer any Information to or through our App, Software, and/or Services, you are agreeing to such Information, including Personal Data and User Content, being hosted and accessed in the United States."
  • May 16 2024 u/totallymandy posts a reddit thread titled "Audible for Ao3 :/" which brings attention to this app from people who do not use TikTok.
  • Redditors find one of the rare times unravel.me.now answers a question, confirming that lore.fm cannot access locked fanfiction (fanfiction on Archive of Our Own that has been set to be viewable only by people who are logged into an AO3 account). See screenshot section below.
  • This quickly spirals into multiple threads all over Ao3, Tumblr, and Twitter. There were posts on Tumblr prior to this one, but the post that ended up traveling wildly through Tumblr was posted by creativitycache on May 16th
  • May 16-17 Authors begin massively flooding into the [team@lore.fm](mailto:team@lore.fm) email inbox to Opt Out. The team is unprepared for this, and begins responding with wildly unprofessional and guilt tripping responses. Eventually as the flood continued the responses became standardized. Ex 1, Ex 2, Ex 3
  • May 17 It became clear the lore.fm team is monitoring both Tumblr and Reddit, as they are linking directly to reddit threads in their replies and are addressing Tumblr posts in response to private dms. rivkae-winters on Tumblr got some of the first replies showing they were actively reading threads on other websites. It was just as unprofessional as you'd expect.
  • May 16 Users became aware that previously the team that worked on lore.fm produced a story-generating AI app that has gotten terrible reviews. This deepens the distrust that data uploaded to Lore.fm will not be later used for furthering AI stories, despite the current TOS. Redditors, Tumblrites, and whatever Twitter users call themselves now all began to speculate just how the app was planning on running. Where were they getting the funds? Where were funds projected to come from in the future?
  • May 17 A TikTok is posted by unravel.me.now stating they are pausing release of Lore.fm. This TikTok does NOT state they are shutting down entirely, but that they are considering it and are opening a discussion. They continue to delete any critical comments on their TikToks. Other users pointed out that this TikTok contains language accusing any detractors of ableism, not mentioning the main reasons people are upset/not actually addressing the concerns people have, calling other screen readers poor products, and using auto-generated captions that were not edited and have multiple errors in them despite touting themselves as an accessibility company.
  • May 18 lore.fm is finally pulled from the app stores. The main website remains online, as does their TikTok account.

Problems With The App

  • Copyright laws are a nightmare, and I'm not touching the legalese breakdown here. Just in general, that. AO3 doesn't have an official app for deliberate reasons, due to the app store's policies.
  • Using AO3 as a content-generator for an app. If it were a screen reader, or one of the other various apps that read things in a pleasant voice for accessibility reasons, there would be no problem. But this was a separate app that did not link back to AO3 or allow its users to give AO3 writers any interaction/feedback. This app essentially billed itself as a way to package free fan work provided to AO3 as content it controlled.
  • Suspicion of intent. How were the developers going to recoup their costs? Why wasn't the data encrypted? Why were they marketing this as specifically for AO3 instead of a general accessibility tool? Why were they not addressing any concerns brought to them before or after launch? Why were they marketing this as a small personal project that implied it was a fan-created app, instead of putting their company name big and bold on it? What were their intentions regarding their other story AI app?
  • Opt Out/Consent Since this app was in a legal quagmire, clearly not designed primarily as an accessibility tool, and was hiding all criticism, authors did not feel comfortable with their work being used for this app. They were especially furious that they had to reach out to the lore.fm team and ask to be taken off- they had nothing to do with this project and yet were being told it was their responsibility to refuse instead of lore.fm's responsibility to ask. Authors were also upset on behalf of all the works marked Anonymous, Orphaned Worked, works where the Author's didn't have a way of even hearing about this app's existence, and deceased Authors who never could have predicted an app like this.

Everything is perfect except for the all-white parts. I want to be able to just cut and paste something with a white background onto the areas to use as examples in my business.
To make it really simple, I want the plain white parts to have no variation in tone, no shadow, no reflections.
I have tried every variation of describing this, but it’s not working unfortunately. Any ideas?
Prompts are similar to:

I've wrestled for about 2 months with posting/asking this, A: cause am a guy and B: my 10 year old Niece is a total lunatic! Anyways, storytime:
Was sitting in my Sisters house doing the Uncle babysitting duties, ive got disabled Scottish guy, and one of my duties on a Thursday is to make sure my 2 nieces(10 and 4) get ready for Gymnastics so that when my sister has finished work it's a simple job for her to just walk downstairs(she's WFH) and throw us all in her car, run me home(on the way to Gymnastics) and off they go. I digress, anyways so I'm sitting watching telly as the two girls are upstairs supposed to be getting ready, all I have to really do is shout up to make sure they've showered themselves they are pretty independent and able to do all the icky girl stuff they need to do, but the 10 year old came downstairs that night, my sister was sitting on her phone next to me, and I just innocently asked: are you showered and ready?
She gave me a withering look that only a child could give to an adult and then grinned and said "well, I've washed my hair, my body and my vulva" now, am a man of the world, am hitting 40 this year, ave not had a religious nutter education but that made me pause and have a face like a gutted fish, I stuttered like a moron for like 2 seconds(which was clearly the little witches reason for saying it that way) then I asked her where she learned that? And she apparently got it from School Sex Ed. I knew they got all that quite early because when she was in Primary 1 or 2(Grade 1 and 2 for my American Cousins, I think) her wee pal next to her coloured a diagram/picture of a penis blue and she asked her "do you think that's appropriate?"
Anyways, I didn't realise they learned all this stuff in school these days and I'm happy with it, even if the wee witch weaponises her knowledge against me haha, and was wondering if you women got anything similar or just like mine which was a "a woman has a vagina and boys have a little bit more called a urethra"(it was genuinely a sentence like that) followed by an educational video which was just a missionary position porn lol, this is bringing up mad memories of what I remember. Anyways, it's almost half past 6pm and I'm gonna be a good wee Scotsman and get absolutely blootered(drunk) if this isn't allowed feel free to delete it.
Oh and the reason I've put this in a female sub rather than a unisex is cause it involves my two little psycho nieces and cause am a guy I feel it's a bit pointless asking fellow guys!

“What a sudden turn of events! Camulus has undergone a startling transformation, and has now suddenly gained the advantage! Can Henry come back from this? Or will Camulus crush him like the unstoppable force he has now seem to have become.”
“What are we gonna’ do nowwwwww?” Goll whined, tears streaming down her face as she shelled up on the floor.
Arthur looked at her sympathetically, as if he were a dad looking at his crying daughter. Kneeling down, he placed a hand on her shoulder and rubbed gently, trying to rouse her from her worry. “There, there, the fight is not over yet.” Arthur assured her softly.
Snapping up into a sitting position, she grabbed a hold of whatever cloth she could get her hands on and began to shake Arthur as hard as she could. With tear now of anger rather than sadness, she began to shout at him. “WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN, “The fights not over yet”? HE'S JUST TAKEN ON A STRONGER FORM, AND HENRY CAN BARELY KEEP UP WITH HIM AT HIS BASE LEVEL! HOW THE HELL DO YOU SUGGEST THEY GET OUT OF THIS ONE?!”
He tried to get out a response as he shook back and forth wildly, “Just-keep-wa-tching-the-ma-tch.”

As Goll had a meltdown up in the stands, Henry was struggling to stand on the field. His left arm had been rendered little more than a clump of bruised flesh and powdered bone, the mangled limb twisted at a truly sickening angle. The rest of his exposed form was bruised, bloodied and battered, micro cuts crisscrossed his frame alongside deeper gashes and rents in his flesh from the many blows he had endured over the course of the fight. And now he stood, staring up at his opponent, stronger than ever, like a stone wall, waiting for Henry to shatter himself on his now indomitable stature.
And yet, the light still burned in Henry’s mind. Like an everlasting flame, the spark of warmth, of passion and determination still burned in Henry’s soul. He would see this fight through, no matter the odds stacked against him, or the forces that sought to block his path, he would endure. It did not matter to him that one of his arms had been mangled. The god could have a leg, if they wanted, perhaps even both. As long as he could raise his sword, he could still fight. And if he could fight, he could win.
All it would take, is one good shot.
“I would advise you to surrender now. Perhaps they’ll let you keep your life.” Camulus suggested, a deep grimace on his face.
Planting his sword in the cracks of the stone, Henry propped himself up on the blade, his muscle screaming for release, yet he could not stop. He strained to smile, his eyes bleary as he looked at his adversary. “I’m sorry,” he declared, pride creeping into his voice, “but a King bows to no one, not mortal, and since the gods show themselves cruel and fickle, not even them. As a leader, I would be a disgrace if I chose any path other than battle.”
Camulus processed his opponent’s words for a second, then a toothy grin stretched on his face, one of pride and excitement, but more worryingly, one of sheer bloodlust, “Then we’re of the same mind.”
Camulus’ image blurred as he seemed to vanish into thin air. Confusion didn’t even have time to set in, as the god’s fist smashed into the plate of armour protecting Henry torso just below the sternum. The shock wave of the blow boomed throughout the stadium. Henry heaved as the hit knocked him away, but before he could go very far, a nanosecond after the punch, the sole of Camulus’ foot slammed into Henry’s face brutalizing his nose and adding more momentum in addition to the punch, sending him clear across the ring, crashing into the walls and the arena.
Henry hacked up a glob of blood as his head spun for the 1-2 combo of devastation. Camulus sauntered toward Henry as if he were taking a stroll through the fields. The image vanished, before appearing directly above Henry in an instant. A wicked grin near split Camulus’ face as he began to hammer down on Henry’s form. All Henry could do was shell up in hopes to stave off the onslaught. The blows came in a million a second, embedding him deeper into the stone as the armour continued to crumple under the pressure.

“It seems Camulus has this battle won.” Andrasta commented, her tone pointedly neutral.
“Yes, but at what cost?” Cnabetius answered, his voice wavering as he was on the verge of tears.
“The little one is right,” Caturix answered, “that form may give him great physical might, but it comes at the cost of a deteriorating mental state.”
Lugh spoke up. “And you would know about this?” he prodded, trying to get more information out of the Battle King.
Caturix’s jaw clenched as he watched the fight intently, his mind and body on edge from the brutal display

Swinging his arm wide, he dug his arm into the arena and dragged it through the stone, palming the side of his opponent’s head and sending them flying through the air, before quickly crashing into the ground with a sickening thud.
Seeing his fallen foe splayed across the ground, Camulus crouched down and tensed, as if he were an apex predator waiting for the right moment to strike his prey. Henry, meanwhile, was struggling to breathe after the bombardment of blows. He heaved as he struggled to rise to his feet, the misshapen armour now digging into his body at odd angles. His knees were shaking as the struggled to rise to his feet.
In an instant, his adversary was again upon him, battering with every kind of blow at every angle one could think of. Punches, kick, elbows, knees, chops, Camulus even made use of the spikes and blades on his knuckledusters, raking and slashing them across any exposed flesh he could see. Henry struggled to withstand the hail of blows, each hits threatening to knock him over. He couldn’t dodge the assault, he could barely block or even see the hits. The sheer speed and ferocity of the onslaught made it nigh impossible to even find an opportunity to counter, let alone pull it off successfully.
Camulus began to laugh uproariously, seemingly enjoying the punishment he was inflicting upon his prey, almost relishing in the game of life and death. Each blow forced Henry back, his will struggling to keep him from being knocked clean off his feet.
A punch smashed into Henry’s stomach, making Henry wretch as he struggled to keep his stomach contents from being violently forced from his body. An instant later, an upper cut hammered into his jaw with the might of a catapult, launching his body high into the air. Henry’s head wrung like a gong as not even a moment later, Camulus was directly above him. Henry tried to raise his sword to strike at his foe, but he found it kicked away as Camulus began to spin, gaining momentum as he prepared to strike his opponent down. As his fists came down, for just a moment, the metals shone like diamonds in the sunlight.
[Colchester Crash]
This time, there was no defence, no counter to the blow. It connected squarely into Henry’s chest, as the blow slammed down both combatants like a meteor. The ground was blasted to pieces as small rock were smashed to dust in the wind, and largerocks sent flying in every direction. The building seemed to be cracking apart, sending both god and man alike into a panic as they rushed to either escape or stop the damage from becoming worse. The sound boomed throughout the entire Realm as the dust settled into a thick cloud that covered the arena.
Several moments passed as the cloud slowly died away to reveal the carnage. What ever hadn’t been destroyed before the impact as certainly pulverised now. The floor was a mess, rock jutting up from the earth at random intervals, as if they were whales breaching the surface of the sea. Cracks like spider webs sectioned the ground, transforming the terrain into a grid of madness.
It was from that chaos one of the combatants forced themselves into the light. The rocks moved and shifted, giving way to reveal Camulus almost completely unharmed.
Physically, at least.
Mentally it was clear that something was not right. His eyes were red deeply bloodshot and demented, his grin splitting his face as his teeth slowly grinded together. If his sanity hadn’t fled him before, it was certainly gone now.

“Uh, guys”, Cnabetius stammered, “I don’t like that look he has.”
“It’s quite worrisome.” Andrasta replied, a slight warble in her voice from fear.
“Most worrisome.” Lugh added.
Meanwhile, Caturix began to shake, the pace of his breath increasing steadily as he took in the sight, his worst nightmare come back to haunt him. ‘Dammit, I knew this would happen, I knew that if that form was released it would be the end for all of us.’

He remembered that day as if he were living it. The day when the true God of War was decided.
The great battles of unification had taken millennia, dozens, if not hundred of God’s staking their claim as the one true God of War. It was an intense and bloody affair, but at the end, it had come down to two men, two unbroken warriors; The Battle King, Caturix and the Untameable Flame, Camulus. It had been a battle that had been brewing for centuries, and in Caturix’s mind, it did not disappoint.
For days, the two warred, battering each other bloody with everything they had in their arsenal.

Blow after blow, each stronger than the last. But just as Camulus refused to fall, neither did Caturix. Even [Across the Channel], professed by many to be the knockout blow against him was not actually enough to drop him, not on it’s own. In fact, as the battle drew to it’s close, it seemed as if Caturix was finally beginning to get the better of his rival.
He hit another [Magh Ithe] flush into Camulus’s chest. How many he had hit at that point was lost to Caturix, he lost count after 36. But this time, after so much punishment, Camulus finally looked as if he was about to drop.
‘Just one more.’ Caturix thought tiredly, yet hopefully to himself. ‘Just one more hit, and he might finally go down’.
Caturix moved in, charging up a final blow, ready to finally put an end to this.
“Eat this! [Europa: Overlord]”
He launched the move with full might. The mere force of the group rending it asunder.
Only to find a fist connecting squarely with his jaw.
Now, Caturix had endured the feeling of a punch countless of his millennia of combat. He had endured countless punches in this fight alone. So it it is all the more notable that this punches, out of the uncountable masses, was the one he recognised about all others. He remembered it for one simple reason. Never before, and never since , had any one blow struck him as hard as that one punch.
At that moment, Caturix knew one painful, and consuming truth. He was going to lose.
The Camulus struck with [Across the Channel].
Whilst the first one had been impactful, this second flurry carried with it far greater speed and power, too great for even the battle king to withstand. It was as if Camulus had gathered a second wind, twice as strong as before. The final blow smashed into Caturix’s temple, sending his brain spinning through several dimensions as the battle king, after so long, finally fell.
Camulus was the victor. Yet he did not stop.
Instead, Camulus leapt upon his foe with ferocity, like a rabid animal tearing at a carcass. He began to pummel the battle king mercilessly, wanting his pound of flesh from his opponent. It was here, up close, that Caturix could see the change his opponent underwent, the strange blue markings that were spread across his body like war paint, and his deeply bloodshot eyes. The beating was relentless, as the new monster sought to punish Caturix for daring to challenge it.
He knew he had to do something to seal this monster that had been unleashed from with Camulus’ soul, lest he rampage throughout the Realm.
[Sheathing of the Blade]
Caturix stabbed into Camulus at specific spots with the spikes on his gauntlets, finding the vital points where energy was drawn from, and sealing them. He would not know whether it worked in the moment, as he passed out a second later. It would only be when he awoke days later, did he find out his success.
It would be the first and last time he would fight Camulus for the top. Not because he saw himself as lesser, but because he did not want to risk unleashing that terror again

And now, that terror was staring him in the face once again.
He could see that same all-consuming desire for blood and destruction. He tensed preparing to fight the one thing that put fear into his heart.
He was bought out of his thought by a loud WHAM that shook the stadium as Thor rose to his feet. The God of Thunder stared down at his one challenger, ready for that long awaited rematch.
“Ah, w-well...” Heimdall stuttered, still feeling from the chaos that had just occurred, “It would appear that the winner of Round 1 is...”
Camulus’ Attention was now laser focused on Thor, tensing as he prepared to leap towards a new opponent.
“The Celtic God of War...”
Ready, set-
“Camu-”
A breath could be heard from the rubble.
It was a quiet, rasping breath, yet it could be heard with clarity across the entire stadium. Everyone froze as they realised where that breath came from. The rocks shifted as out from the rubble emerged the battered, but still living form of Henry V.
“Damn, that was too close for comfort!” Lancelot huffed, still trying to get his wits about him, “You almost got pasted there, and that means we both would have died, you damn fool. Not like that matters much now...”
Camulus’ head turned to regard the bloodied king, salivating with demented glee, ready for the continued brutality.
“Since we’re gonna be dead in a few seconds regardless.”
As Henry lay there, broken and bloodied, he could hear voices from the audience.

“HENRY!” his father yelled, “Don’t you give up now, boy! You are the best of all of us! Show that god what's what?”
“Let that god know the might of the English!” Henry VII shouted.
“Show them what a real warrior can do!” Richard Lionheart roared.
“C’Mon dad, you can do this” Henry VI cheered.
Hotspur stepped forward, gathering his breath before screaming to the Heavens, “MONMOUTH! What do want to do?! What is your one true desire?!”

“To win, my way.”
Pushing off his good arm, he strained to sit up, collecting his breath as he did so. “Never surrender, never retreat.”
“Oh sure,” Lancelot responded, the sarcasm layered on very thick, “and how exactly are we supposed to do that.”
Henry slowly stood, carefully balancing his weight between the sword and his weary legs. “There is one thing we can do... just one.”

Closing his eyes, he focused deeply, bringing out every thought every emotion he had ever had, then let all of them flow from his mind. He let complete and total calm take hold in that moment. There was no emotion, there was no doubt or second guessing, there was only truth. Absolute, irrevocable truth. The deepest instinct, the greatest of them all.
“[Royal instinct]”
Less than a second later, Camulus had leapt to within striking distance, ready to end his foe. But whereas Henry was completely overwhelmed before, now his clarity was absolute. He knew exact what would happen, how each and every muscle within Camulus’ body would move before they even did so. Henry knew what Camulus’ second move would be before he even began his first.
Camulus shot out with a wild punch, which the more focused Henry deflected with ease. If he had use of his other arm, he may have even followed up with a punch of his own. Instead, he simply let Camulus’ momentum work against him.
The god overshot, and was sent crashing into the ground a few times before slamming into the wall.
As the crowd looked on in shock at what had just happened, they turned to look at the man who had done it. He had change, it was clear to see for all through the change on his eyes, once filled with brown tones, now a crystalline, pale silver. The sword had morphed to reflect this new state, reflecting the mind of a king. Whatever this was, it had shifted the tide of battle yet again.

“Damn! What is this?!” Lancelot cried, “I feel my head is full of everything and nothing at the same time!”
“[Royal Instinct]! A fine tuning of the instincts within all of us. By using this we, can reject all unnecessary thoughts and information, both new and old, as well as higher awareness and clarity of vital information. On the absolute truth of the situation will be known to us, truth we’ll know before the lie can even be made.”
Camulus soon broke his way free from the rock and charged. He leapt forward again, this time with an elbow, again deflected. Again, Camulus skid across the rocks for several metres, but this time, he was able to right himself and charge in again. But again, the resulting attack was deflected.
This repeated several more times, each attack and recovery was faster than the last. But Henry parried them all with perfect clarity, as he bided his time for the perfect moment.
After another parry, Camulus righted himself and prepared the blast into Henry at full speed, all thought of technique gone from the raving gods mind. Henry readied his blade for his own strike.
The mere tap of Camulus’ foot sent shock waves through the ground as he rocketed forward and max speed. But Henry was undeterred. Swiftly parrying the blow, he brought his arm in and then swung out. The pommel connected directly with Camulus’ temple, sending the force of the impact through his head, almost seeming to paralyse the god, as he crashed and skidded across the ground limply.
For the first time since the transformation occurred, Henry had seized the advantage.

‘Where the hell am I?’ was Camulus’ first weary thought after being shocked back to sanity.
‘Ohhh fuck, my head hurts worse than that time me and Cna went drinking at the place the humans called Mamucium.’
Taking a moment to clear the thunderstorm in his head, he scanned over the decimated arena, his dizziness turning to confusion. ‘OK seriously, what the hell happened here?’
Pushing himself from the rubble, he survey the situation, trying to understand what was going on. Then suddenly, his skull felt as if it was about to burst, and his eyes swan with illusions and distortions of reality, hearing voices whispering behind his ears. Camulus clutched at his head, forcing the thoughts down. After a minute of excruciating pain, he finally returned to reality.
'Dammit, what's going on with me? Focus! You have a fight to win!'
“Damn, we might have knocked him out cold. I’m loath to say it, but I think you were right, we may have a chance after all.” Lancelot commented, almost in awe of the current situation.
Henry chuckled, “Wouldn’t have figured you to be one to admit when you were wrong.”
Lancelot froze for a moment, before scoffing at Henry’s comment, “Just because you were right doesn’t mean I was wrong, jackass!”
For a moment, Henry laughed at Lancelot’s Haughtiness, before that cheer was replaced by boiling pain, as he dropped to a knee. Lancelot was confused for a moment, before he felt a warm liquid pour from his eyes. As he dabbed at his eyes, he saw the crimson colouration that quickly gave away what that liquid was.
Blood.
“What the hell is this? What’s going on?!”
Henry stammered as he spoke, still trying to get his wits about him. “A-ah yes, t-here is a cost t-to using the form.”

“Jesus Christ,” Lancelot mumbled, “WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!” he them screamed.
“I’ve made peace with the fact that even if I win, I likely won’t live much longer anyway. So right now, in this moment, I don’t care how much damage I do to myself, or how much time I have left is eaten away. As long as I have enough to win this fight, long enough to bring humanity, and the people I care for, one step closer to salvation, it matters not.”
Both Camulus and Henry stood, readying their guard, their bodies battered and bruised, yet their spirits unbroken, they both knew one thing. Win or lose, this fight was nearing its end.

Feedback after Finishing the game (On Normal Difficulty)
So, I finished V-rising from start to end on Normal difficulty. (With some minor alterations to rules, by negating Silver damage entirely because honestly, it was just such a massive annoyance)
As the game stands right now, it is easily my GOTY. Fantastic and enjoyable combat, incredible visuals, an extensive library of bosses and enemies that require different approaches. A huge variety of armor sets, weapon types, upgrades and variables, not to speak about the spells and vampiric powers you acquire. It is a great experience and I can't recommend it enough to... everyone.
Below are some smaller nitpicks, as well as some ideas for solutions. (And I will try and keep the ideas reasonable and what I personally think would be very doable fixes)
- Give us a use for Schematics, scrolls and paper after all the research is done. As soon as you finish your research with the Athenaeum, Study and Research table, all paper, scrolls and Schematics essentially become useless. There are maybe 1-2 "build once and never touch again" things you can use some of them for, but that is few and far between. A simple solution for this (IMO) would be to add cosmetics that include them. I would personally recommend that we can make bookshelves. Not just those small ones high up on the wall, no, BIG ones. The type that you can cover an entire room with. Allow us to create a proper 100% library style with them. Maybe other small decorative piles of books maybe? Or allow those pedestals and wall decorations that include books / paper to have a cost from those resources. Make "research" paper have a value even when you have everything.
- PLEASE let us have the option in servers to craft from chests We can already at this point edit almost every stat and variable in the servers. Enemy health and damage, loot quantity, even how long the days last! Can't we, PLEASE have the option in the servers to enable "Craft from chests".
Something simple, like... When you open up a crafting station, you also open up another window beside that one, which shows you the inventory of all your chests that is relevant to the crafting station inside the current castles bounds. So for example, you open up the furnace, and another window shows up, showing all the quarts, copper, iron, silver and so on that you have in your chests, allowing you to craft, refine and so on straight from the table. You can still have limitations or rules for it, like.. Maybe this rule only works if the item in question is in the right containers. (Like, you can only move the plant fiber into the loom, if the plant fiber is in herb storage, for example) Making sure that players actually consider where they put the stuff, but still allowing them the comfort. Just as an option for each server. (And of course, would not be enabled on official servers most likely)
- Give us a humanoid enemy that we can put into a prison or have as a servant, that has Mutant blood A bit more complex, for sure (as you would have to add a new kind of enemy)... But it nagged me that Mutant was the only blood type that you can't officially have accessible at all times in your castle. My completionist brain really find that annoying.
- More Colour and Dye variations This is a personal nitpick. But man, it was annoying that I couldn't find the exact right colours for my armour at times for what I wanted to get across. Especially with that eternal king cloak and helmet, as almost every red and gold dye had white or blue mixed in somehow and it was kinda distracting.
- Make Hedges more managble Maybe just me, but hedges was such a massive pain in the arse to set up and get to loook right. I don't know why but trying to place them in a good looking way was incredibly dififcult. Especially as they were way bigger than normal fences and the like, resulting in that it was really hard to make them look right on the grid based system.

I also thought I would share some ideas I have come up with what I would love to see in the future of this game. Note, I have no exact idea how difficult it would be to implement these ideas into the game. I will do my best to keep it realistic, but as I am not privy to such details, do excuse my ignorance.
- Have the Vampire gain notoriety and fear, the stronger they are This feels like a relatively simple idea. When you encounter villagers and workers, is there a chance that they will try and run away or hide from the vampire. The concept is, that dependent on your gear level, will lower level attacking enemies (Rogues, Warriors, Brutes, even creatures) do the same. (Within reason, Undead obviously won't do this)
Of course, when you are level 10, carrying a copper sword, then it makes sense that even the normal rogues and bandits of Farbane Woods would see you as an easy target. But as you progress in gear and power, would it be kind of cool, if those of far enough power difference would start to avoid the player. Could be gradual, like... a 10 level difference, and fighters are hesitant to attack, maybe threatening with a weapon, slowly backing away, etc.
But at 15-20 and so on, they straight up try and run away, only fighting back when you attack them directly. A max level character, the destroyer of the immortal king, should absolutely cause any bandit in the Farbane Woods to flee for the hills. With only the mindless, heavily armored or faithful actively charging you. (Such as Paladins for example would always attack the vampire on sight, even with level differences).
Can even have mechanics where this effect is dependant on numbers, or who they are with. A paladin leading the charge maybe motivates other characters around them, etc. (This of course could be modified in the server settings)
- The Vampire gaining followers, even cultists, dependant on power level
I have suggested this in the past, but it bears repeating and would be a great benefit to the game feel, I think. If you read the lore of the V-bloods, there are examples amongst the servants of Dracula of them joining him willingly. And it would be (Kinda) neat if we could have the same for our vampire.
Cowards, cultists, madmen or the like, coming to the Vampire's castle, wishing to joing willingly. Could be a subclass of servant, that join of free will and could have increased power or abilities due to this motivation, but they will / can leave, if you (in some fashion) show weakness or lose power.
It could also be worked into the idea of the Classical Vampire romance. (This would be a complicated idea to implement, 100%) A staple of Vampire mythos is the maiden that falls in love with the tall, strong, dark and terrible vampire. Something similar could be done here, with an NPC (that the player maybe can customize) approaching the castle, wishing to serve.
Acting not as an active servant but as a special source for blood. That you can improve / impact through different means (Maybe by building them a chamber / room, and the blood quality changes dependent on their happiness, etc) The blood wouldn't act as the normal 100% but also allow the player to once per day get a special blood buff perhaps, if the "lover" is high in approval, or something like that.
At the least to me, it feels kinda unrealistic that no mortal would even try to gain the vampire's favor in any way. We are the lord of a giant magical castle that virtually appeared over night. Gleaming of precious minerals, gold and power. Someone would at the least try.
- Add a cosmetics tab
This is a simple idea, allow us to transmog current weapons and armor into other apperances. It would be neat if you could have a cosmetic tab, allowing you to wear the appearance of one item over the other. Increasing RP potential. Especially as some of the mid tier sets are absolute bawler, but sadly do kinda suck.
- More cosmetics across the board New vampire horse skins (Need me a white steed for my posh vampire) New outfits New carpets New windows, doors, walls, you know the deal. I want variations in my castle. With this post have I already showed two different examples of style that I personally enjoy, however there isn't necessarily enough costmetics to fit both. (I need a white "pure" throne... something to really fit the gentleman in charge look)
