So I've been working on a fighter subclass and I'm calling it the daylight fighter but I'm struggling to come up with the lv.18 ability. This is what I have so far
The daylight fighter 3 armour, chosen enemy, stones 7 armour upgrade 10 eclipse 15 chosen fusion 18 the hunter
Chosen enemy: you chose a momento and infuse it with the essence of a creature type, (grants advantage on attacks, advantage on wisdom, strength, dex and con saving throws to do with this creature. You become knolagable in these creture types and their lore, gain a +2 to ac while fighting them.)
Armour: you're chosen momento grants the ability to summon any basic armour that the wilder is proficient in. This armour is fused to you and can only be removed with a dc 20 strength check or until dismissed. With the granting of this armour you also gain 1 basic mele wepon you are proficient in that can be summoned and dismissed separately from the armour, if it doesn't have the thrown property it gains it for 15 ft and can be used 1 or 2 handed with no penalty. The sword can return to you're hand as a bonus action. (Both the armour and sword can be replace with magic items) all things summoned by the momento are made of pure daylight and shed dim light for 30 ft. All things summoned by the momento can swap between doing it normal damage and radiant damage
Stones: at 3rd level you imbue you're momento with 2 stones (+1 with each subclass upgrade). These stones grant unique abilities and can be changed at a short or long rest. You can use anumber of stones equal youre proficiency bonus. The saves for there stones are 8+wis+prof These stones include
The aspects stone: you summon an clone of youreself. for this clone you pick 1 stat and double it the clone can only complete tasks of that skill.
Cradle stone: literally just a bag of holding
Dwärkstone: when you hit a target it causes an explosion doing 2d10 to all creatures in the radius
Grit-shaka: you gain a + 5 to a charisma savingthrow or check
Heart stone: regain 10 hit points
Omniscienstone: know a stat from 1 creture you are fighting (can only be used once per creture)
Wall walk stone: grants a climbing speed equal to you're movement for 5 minutes.
Armour upgrades: at 7th level you find new hope and power within you're armour and you gain 2 upgrades. The first of which is a shield that is attached to you're wrist. While you're shield is out you get a +2 to ac and enemys have disadvantage on attacks againsed you. However you cant attack. It can also be used as a normal shield. The second, is a pair of daggers These can you be used as normal or combined to turn into a boomerang that returns no matter what, this boomerang does 1d8 bludgeoning damage
Eclipse: all wepons do an additional damage dice. You gain a plus 1 bonus to armour, wepon attacks and damage. When you hit a creture they must make a wisdom save or begin to turn to stone, as if the spell flesh to stone is cast on them they make the check again each time you hit them The shield stance increases to 5
Chosen fusion: at this level you fuse with the essence of you're chosen enemy and become half of that creture and half of what ever you're original race was. The optional races are below
Giant (troll): you're strength becomes 22 and dex 20. You grow 1 size (optianal) you know giant. Become proficient in athletics. Gain 60ft of dark vision. You're ac increase by 2
Daylight is mine to comand: you gain a second chosen enemy. When you drop to 0 hit points, once per day you regain half you're hp back and are ready to go back to fighting, all wepon and armour increases to +2. When you reduce a target to 0 hit point it disintegrates.

· All Star Card descriptions were rewritten to be unilateral and have similar explanations. The names of heroes and second-person pronouns were avoided.
· Clearer antonyms are used: increased/decreased; extended/reduced.
o Increase/decrease suggests a progression in size, amount, or numbers (like adding/subtracting health, damage, stamina drain, and sprint speed).
o Extend/reduce suggests a change made to a value or number (like percentages for time, distance, and blaster heat).

· Feel free to pick any hero and test out the stats yourself. The more accurate stats we have, the better we can use them.
· Question Marks are unknown values. If you happen to know them or calculate the value, feel free to share them. Video proof seems to always work best.
· I personally feel that being open to the intricacies of every star card and ability is the best way to go and should not be considered an exploit. Everyone should know what’s happening when the enemy team starts using these game-changers (and there are many people who do), and best enabling them to learn how to counter it. In the end, understanding these little details leads to a more competitive and playable battlefront.
· Although not too often, some of the supposed up-to-date references below contradict each other; I had to make a final choice without having the time to test them.
· Getting all these stats was a hard-earned headache in the end. Feel free to correct any discrepancies you may find!

Hello everyone hope you all are doing well. Need suggestions how to move on from this situation. I'm 22 years old, and he's 26. Recently, I've gone through a drastic situation in my life, something l've never experienced before. I'm committed to the boy I love, and he loves me too. We've been in a relationship for 15 months. I've never met him in person because he lives in Australia. We communicate through calls and video calls daily. He loves me deeply. However, when his parents brought up another proposal for him and expressed their wish for him to marry, he told them about me. Initially, they were hesitant due to my name containing "Shah," which they associated with Shia. Despite being Sunni, they had concerns. After much discussion and reassurance, 1 started praying tahajud and made sincere duas. His sister visited Pakistan, and he asked me to meet her. Then his family his (NANA, NANI) also came to my house to see me, and they talked to me the whole time. They liked me so much. We had dinner together, made some good memories, and took pictures. His family is also good. We enjoyed the whole day and made good memories, and they approved of me. Now his parents fully accepted me with happiness. Everything was going very smoothly; his parents talked to me through video call, they liked me, and considered me as their daughter-in-law.

A 70s stinker, big monster, off the path and more this week.
The TL;DR The Visitor: A remarkable cast is wasted in this bizarre Italian semi-sci-fi riff on The Omen, The Fury, and others. The Ruins: Absolutely riveting tourism gone wrong horror. Deathgasm: Top tier horror comedy that hits similar notes to Dead Alive. My Heart Can’t Beat Unless You Tell It To: Part family drama, part thought experiment. A look at a trio of people who are dead inside, each in their own way. The Lake: Special effects are the star of this “Thaiju” feature, but there isn’t much else to it. Moloch: Needed some edits but fans of folk horror should enjoy this Dutch offering. Lovely, Dark, and Deep: In the forests of the night, it gets credibly creepy. Low budget, but a great lead and fine visuals.
The Visitor (1979): “I can’t kill children – only the evil part.” After a psychedelic encounter on a planet with a lava lamp atmosphere, an old man lets blond space Jesus — who has been telling hairless kids about how “Commander Yahweh” slew the demonic Sateen — know that a spiritual descendant of Sateen has been reborn on Earth. Cue 70s style soundtrack, and here we go! Or would go, if anything ever happened. The film is a total mess, with bizarrely long takes of John Huston (!) and others pacing or staring or driving in one scene and rapidfire edits in another. Lance Henrikson’s (!) Ray is more robotic than Bishop, and Shelley Winters (!) and Sam Peckinpah (!!) don’t make much of a difference. Allegedly, the cast only participated to gain a free trip to Italy, which I hope they enjoyed. Huston’s distinctive voice is the film’s only redeeming quality, but you’re better off hearing it elsewhere. Gore: 1/10. Nudity: None. Tubi.
The Ruins (2008): “Aren’t you glad you came?” Iceman and Jena Malone (who had a memorable makeout session in Neon Demon) venture with their friends to some off the path Mayan ruins, where the locals welcoming in a “We wish you’d never, ever leave” way. As it turns out, I’d already seen this one long ago; hearing the “cell phone” ring immediately tipped me off. But it was very much worth a second watch, and if you haven’t seen it absolutely do so. It’s well worth the $3 and change. Then consider the aftermath. Gore: 6/10. Nudity: None. Prime rental
Deathgasm (2015): “Hail Satin” Horror comedies face the same challenge as regular comedies: keeping the laughs going after the first 15 minutes, when the dramatic plot kicks in. Tucker and Dale did this very well; Zombeavers not so much. Deathgasm, fortunately, is a lot closer to T&D, finding ways great and small to inject humor in and around the more serious scenes. And damn, what lines — I had to pause more than a few times to laugh my arse off. As a metalhead in my youth, I appreciated a lot of jokes more than I might have otherwise, but anyone with a stomach for gore and naughtiness will enjoy this one. Gore: 8/10, but it’s a funny 8/10. My Heart Can’t Beat Unless You Tell it To (2021): “We shouldn’t be doing the things that we’re doing.” Two siblings care for the third, who is sickly and has special nutritional requirements one might term the “Lugosi Diet.” Not heroin — the red stuff. This is only peripherally a vampire movie. It’s much more a psychological drama about caregiver fatigue, the struggle of the able to aid the disabled and how even a family full of love can collapse under the weight of their burdens. There’s no backstory given, no mythos to justify the situation, just a family struggling to do what they have to do to keep their youngest member alive. It’s good, with the leads providing a bleak window into their day-to-day existences, though a little humor would have been nice. It’s an existential, thought-provoking vignette that may linger with you. Gore: 3/10, bloodletting. Nudity: Just a man and his underwear. Screambox, which I apparently still have.
The Lake (2022): “Compose yourself. Don’t get out of the car.” I wanted a big monster flick, and this Thai production says it has one. I just hope I don’t have to wait forever for it to sho—ah, 3 minutes in and there it is. No build up at all. Huh. A fan of Bong Joon-Ho’s The Host (2006) apparently got hold of a decent budget and put together a “Thaiju” film of their own, and it’s…okay. While the editing is all over the place, it does keep the story moving, and the creatures are interesting to look at and well rendered. There are speed bump human dramas, but they don’t account for much; characters are uni-dimensional, and the film unfortunately lacks much in the way of a binding narrative. If you’re in the mood for a big beast exercise in special effects, you could do worse. Just don’t expect much else. Gore: 4/10. Nudity: None. Prime.
Moloch (2022): “You science boys, you’re uninformed.” This Dutch folk horror tells — at a modest pace — the story of Bietrik and her family, who have suffered substantial losses over the generations. Events lead her to believe that her family may be cursed, haunted by some local entity. All in all, it’s a decent movie, wrapped around its own eerie mythology and leading to a striking conclusion. There’s a scene in a field that should have been left on the cutting room floor, and the second half lacks the sense of urgency and discovery that can really carry a movie, but I’d still recommend it for the atmosphere and some fine, creepy moments. Not bad for a writedirector’s first full length feature.
Gore: 3/10. Nudity: None. Trivia: While Moloch has often been thought of as a deity to whom children were sacrificed, more recent research suggests it was instead a type of sacrifice, one that involved children and was performed for various gods in the Levant, including the god of the Hebrews. Shudder
Lovely, Dark, and Deep (2023): “You’ve taken from us.” Georgina Campbell (Barbarian) is a forest ranger taking her first 90-day assignment in the deepest part of the woods in her fictional park. We see her settle in, go on multi-day walkabouts, and wrestle with a loss in her past. It’s a slow, scenic build to the weirdness, but it snowballs quickly. There’s a “walking simulator” aspect that follows which may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but Campbell kept me invested with her performance. While the film follows some tropes (things there one moment and gone the next, for example), it turns others on its head. While “in the forest” stories can go very different ways (as The Ritual, Gaia,and In the Earth demonstrate), I finished LD&D thinking of it as a folk horror. I’m curious if you agree. Gore: 5/10 for some red moments. Nudity: None. Trivia: The title comes from a Robert Frost poem you may have encountered in school. Tubi

For example Nick Rtfm gets rank 1, same as auzio same as pros like stokes, all of the 3 players above have different skill levels atleast imo and there should be no way they get the same rank. I get rank 1-2 but i’m no where as good as a pro i would say i just feel like if the games were maybe a bit harder with the elo and way better rewards it would feel more rewarding. I have been 19-0 and played someone who was 15-3, how does that even make sense. Chances are that i am going to win, get 20-0 and still shit rewards. Harder games with rewards that maybe have min ratings on the pp for each rank would make more sense to me. idk tho just my opinion tbh

In 2011, the most serious protests in the history of modern Kazakhstan took place in the city of Zhanaozen. In the first half of the year, strikes of oil workers began there, which were eventually joined by about 15 thousand people. December 16, 2011 - 13 years ago in a Kazakh city, police opened fire on unarmed residents. Strike participants and random people were injured. The authorities of the city and Mangistau region said that the police shot “in defense” - until videos appeared online of people running from armed uniformed officers, who were shooting at them to kill them. According to official figures, there were 16 victims, but in reality there were many more. But they are silent about this. Hello good Hunters! A few months ago I ran a Bloodborne-themed One Shot Dungeons and Dragons session with some friends. I started it all with writing this flavoured introductory text to get my players and myself in the mood. I even demanded my players have Omen playing when reading this:
Hello good Hunter. If a cure for your ailments and maladies is what you so desperately need, then the Healing Church has what you’re looking for. Oh yes, Our Blood Ministration is as much the miracle cure as you have heard and then some. As you might expect, us Yharnamites take pride in our possession of this blessing from above. We are happy to provide for those in need, desperate or otherwise. In return, we only ask but your service to the Church for a short tenure. Details and a possible contract will be shared upon your arrival at the Grand Cathedral. Before proceeding, there are a few things you should know.
Your Character It is for a reason that you’re looking for Blood Ministration, the miracle cure. Is your village succumbing to a plague and you’re venturing out for a solution? Is a loved one dying and are you in need of halting the decay? Do you aspire to transcend the limits of humanity, elven kind, dwarven kind (etc,)? Whatever your reason is, have it written out.
You are a level 5 character. Any less, and the city might feel... overwhelming. Don't worry about this too much, it will grow on you I’m sure.
Equipment. You are in possession of a Trick Weapon* and a Gun, are you not? Visitors hava a knack for running into danger around these parts when left unaccompanied by the proper guidance of a member of the Church. We simply hope you are prepared for any inconveniences. If you’re not yet in possession of a Trick Weapon and Gun, the Hunter’s Workshop will provide you with them. Gherman is our most capable weaponsmith. I’m sure he’ll be glad to combine any two weapons of your choice into one swift tool and give you the firepower you need.
Abilities Blood Ministration is a real blessing as it provides one with many abilities. Upon arrival, we will give you a taste of it. I personally guarantee the following effects**: - As a Bonus Action, you will be able to switch between the two modes of your weapon for an extra attack if the first successfully lands. - As a Reaction, you can try to parry an incoming Melee attack by shooting your gun before being hit. Roll a Dexterity Saving Throw against the Attack Roll of the enemy. Whoever wins the exchange lands a Critical Hit. - As a Reaction, you can try to land a hit on an enemy who just hit you with a Melee attack. If successful, you regain HP equal to the damage dealt. If it fails, the enemy gets an Attack of Opportunity.
**These abilities are subject to change, as the DM will do research on possible balance issues. Inshallah.
Closing Words I’m sure you will be more than impressed with Blood Ministration’s aforementioned benefits and its many healing capabilities. I’m positive we will all benefit from this endeavour. You will be cured and the good word of the Healing Church will continue spreading. I await your swift arrival at the Grand Cathedral.
Oh, one piece of advice for your travels. Do make it to our abode before sunset, as night time in Yharnam tends to be particularly hairy around this time of year.

The general outline of the story was:
  • The players arrival in Yharnam by coach. They're escorted by the Blood Minister at the start of the game.
  • They make their way up to the Healing Church where Laurence greets them (with a thicc Spanish accent). He assures them that the wondrous healing blood is as much the miracle as they've heard. He'll share some of this blood with the players, but if they help him out...
  • He tells these outsiders that he has a problem. Beasts have started to plague the city and so he's dispatched Hunters to deal with them. However, there's a Hunter who's starting to doubt the ways of the Church. If they help Laurence get rid of her, they'll get all the Blood Ministration they desire.
  • The new Hunters go meet Gherman in his prime, who helps them trick out their weapons with the help of his apprentice, a young student named Maria.
  • With their tricked out weapons, they get escorted by a weird little boy called Micolash to Odeon Chapel, where Eileen was last seen. The way down there turns into a wild game of keep-up (Chase scene).
  • Outside the chapel they get attacked by a Darkbeast. The Beast almost kills them, but they get saved by a Hunter in crowfeather garb. She introduces herself as Eileen the crow, who quickly assesses that the players are outsiders. She says she's on the way out of Yharnam, and so should the players. Its revealed her top priority is getting her daughter Eileen out of the city. She'll protect her at any cost. If the players talk to her, she'll reveal that the Church is the cause of the scourge and Laurence wants her silenced. Will the players help Ella? Will they silence her? Or will they confront Laurence and the church?
  • Either way, the Moon is starting to glow red, and the players can't shake the feeling that something is watching them from up above...

I have been trying to run envirouments in my game and I notice that they have difficulty for the plot information. Take the example of Overgrowth Battlefield from the Abandoned grove enviroument.
"Any character may make an Instinct Roll to identify traces of a fight (broken weapons, gouges in the ground, broken tree branches). On a 15+, they also identify a moss-covered tree trunk as the corpse of a treant. On a 20+ or critical, they also find still-standing trees shaped by nature magic, enough to believe that the battle was a fight between druids and a dryad’s forest troops. "
This might just be my dming style, but I usually don't do perception checks. I assume that if the character have time they will find something. Usually I want my players to physically tell me how they search for clues like, instead of being in a library and rolling to search for a book. I would ask how, like do you go and try to find how its alphatised etc etc and simply tell them the answer.
Anyway all this to say is that, I feel like instead of giving DC + information. they could instead say if they investigate X this is what they find. Or where X item is hidden. Or even if they are an X they would know this information. Example could be:
"Any character may investigate around them for traces of a fight. (broken weapons, gouges in the ground, broken tree branches). If they do they learn that the trees are actually corpse of treant. Character can futhur investigate the tree and may find traces of nature magic that had wounded the tree. Any character who are familiar with that kind of magic knows that mostly druidic has access to such magic and thus this could have been a fight between druids and treants"

It's like you remember the person but not fully apprehend what "really" happened to both of you? Seems like there is a missing puzzle in the big picture? It happened to me and realized everything after all the embarrasing things I did. I was like acting the victim before and not knowing I am to blame after all. Year 2023 when I came back in my country, I'm working overseas by the way. As I went home, I declutter my personal things and there I saw some letters wayback 15years ago. Letters during our retreat activity college days. I read all their sweet messages and I stumbled to read a letter written by my crush. After reading his short and sweet letter I'm sobbing. Tears rolling down my cheeks and asking myself, what was my reaction when I read his letter before? Like what did I do?!! Did I read this? I'm thinking so hard searching for answers in my head about his letter but got no answer. It was so vague to me that I cannot find the answer I'm looking for in my mind and in my memory. All memories and emotions were bleak during that specific time. Throughout the day, all I'm thinking about was his letter. Thoughts like, yeah, I do have a crush on him during college days and it is too impossible that I disregarded that letter. I'm thinking crazy things already about his letter yet I cannot remember what really happened. I contacted my close friend who's been with me since college. She's like my sister from another mother who knows everything since college days. I started the convo sending her the letter he wrote for me and instantly she recognize who wrote it. She even ask me what did I do when I read the letter before or did I even bother to read the letter? I told her I cannot remember what I did before but one thing that's clear to me was our friendship seemed to drift away even before the graduation day. That's why I was'nt able to contact him after graduation day till up to present. Thinking, I was just the girl who just learned that the guy I like before, liked me back after reading the letter, my friend give me a silly suggestion of giving him a PM. Yes, we are classmates, friends during those days. He was on my list of friends in my socmedia yet after all this years, I never sent him a PM. I just wanted to say hi but I'm too embarassed to do it. Overthinking stuff and crazy ideas crossing in my mind. Then all of a sudden I saw in my screen 11:11am, immediately type hi and hit send button. Feeling embarassed that I pm-ed him first at the same time doubting if he still knows me, I'm too anxious in wanting to have or not to have a reply from him that time. Morning the next day upon checking my phone I got a reply from him, 👍 at 5:55am. Being weirdo again all I did was to talk to myself early that morning to give him a reply or not. I'm thorn of doing so or what. Then I just decided to give him a message of asking how is he, introducing myself, hope he's doing okay, message him because of blah, blah then wishin him luck and good day. Ugh, still embarassed. I thought it will be the end of our convo but he replied back saying he's doing okay. He remember me saying I'm his classmate and I'm happy that he's doing good now in his new career. He also ask how I'm doing and what do I do these days. We exchange 4-5 convo until he stop responding. I'm like yeah, that's it. I'm sure he's busy and I understand his profession demands time but I also want myself not to expect anything in REALITY. I'm being too emotional as of the moment that all I got to think was him and his letter creating imaginary things between us. I'm a rational person so as I pacify myself and calm down the thoughts in my mind, I decided to write everything in my journal. As I write down my thoughts, the question of how's and why's, slowly I remember everything that happened 15 years ago. I clearly remember the thoughts I had, the decisions I made and how I ghosted him. Circa 2009. 4th year college. I have a guy friend who's my classmate during 3rd year since we were block section. He's also my block groupmate. Maybe we became close because we were together most of the times. He's tall, lanky, sweet, caring, funny and brainy. He's the type of guy who only bring a notebook in the room, I never saw him with a bag in normal schedule of classes but hey he always pass. And as a cheapskate college girl, I used to take down notes and do everything as I can to not spend extra penny. I become aware of him being sweet to me by borrowing my notes saying she can understand my handwriting, sitting beside me on classes where sitting position is not required, going to library doing group activities, walking side by side in school aisle and seeing him giving me a sweet smile. Getting him caught staring at me then he will just smile mirorring his eyes. It seems like normal things right? But I can sense there is something behind those small gestures. I also shared this to my friend that I can sense there is something about him but he never confirm anything at all. He was never even bothered when he knew one of my girl friends told him she had a crush on him. I got a little jealous during that time, I even got jealous on her friends that were beauties during college days. He was a friendly guy but knows how to be a gentleman. Since, no admission of feelings in his part we continued to be good friends, him still giving the same care and treatment to me. I can't remember if it was 2nd trimester when we had our retreat activity. It was months also before our graduation day and then after that will have our in-house review for upcoming board examination. Everyone is excited to attend the retreat because we can give a rest on our tired minds. We rented a good place with a perfect weather during that time. During our last day, the last task given to us is write a letter to each person in your group. He was my groupmate during the retreat. We can read the letter after the activity or if we have time to spare. I decided to read mine when I got home. Me and him are still good during that time. When I arrived home, I started reading their letter, I read his letter last. His letter goes like this,
A_____, " I have met you on a cloudy Monday and now you never knew how much I loved the rain." Your a gentle child and very sincere. You are very concern to all the people around you and thats what make you different from others. You can carry things up and I know you can make it. Goodluck and Godbless. I am just on yourside waiting for you to tap me and call my name.
I'm shocked yet relieved knowing that what he's doing towards me is confirmed in his letter. It might be a indirect confirmation but I think it still says so. I'm happy to know he's not just a friend caring for me but someone special who took care of me all this time. But as my happiness took over me, that feeling of anxiousness and cowardice envelops my entire body. Confessing his feelings, then now, what? What will happen in our friendship? How do I face him, as I am shy girl before? If I tell him I like him too, what will happen to us? Graduation day is in the corner, inhouse review is giving us pressure, licensure examination will happen in next few months and I need to focus, to study to pass the exam. Those were my concerns at that time. So, I made up my mind. Without giving him any answer, without telling him what I have in my mind, without him knowing what I really wanted to say despite the concerns I had in mind. Men aren't the only ones who do it obviously but they do it so much more often and it always feels gross if I don't know them like they're trying to establish close fondness they desire to have. But the thing that keeps getting me is that I've gone most of my life never being called [specific pet name] by people I knew or strangers or at least not noticing it if they did. Then I'm 25 in a hospital ICU and my dying mother's last words to me were "I love you, [specific pet name]" because I told her when she was still out from the anesthesia that I just wanted to hear her say she loved me one last time and it took nearly 15 hours but she did.
It's been five years but these dumbass men keep hitting me up trying to get with me using the words of my dying mother and every single time I am taken back to that room where I became a desperate child again losing something I cannot replace and I want to scream loud enough the whole world can hear to just stop already! Stop trying to act like we're familiar enough to use pet names, just say fucking hello and shoot your shot like a regular brand stranger who still has little to no shot but isn't pissing me off by dragging me back to relive the horrors of that place. I'm not your baby, your honey, your anything at fucking all except a dream you'll never have while you're awake because you did not respect me enough to come correct. God I'm tired. And I age like a single malt scotch so I know this won't stop as I age. My grandma had random men trying to play strip poker with her in her 60's and still gets men trying to hit her up to fuck now that she's in her 70's. And all it does is make me wonder am I going to have decades of trying to live my life just to deal with fools repeatedly ripping me from the present to have me flashback to some of the worst moments of my life because they want to fuck and have no sense of decent boundaries? Hi! I'm 22f. It's been 2 years na rin since I last worked as an online ESL tutor so I was around 20 at the time. I just wanna share lang my exp of 3mos. (Yes I only worked for 3mos. i'll explain later) to those planning to work as an online ESL tutor in the PH.
To start, I worked w/ RJ (i'm sure yall know the company by these initials). My reason was ofc financial aid bc at the time I wanted to buy things w/ my own money ++ bakasyon din from uni.
As an introverted girliepop, it was such a huge leap to take. It changed me a lot so to speak. I was talking not only to random strangers, but also to foreign people. My students are mostly japanese and some other foreigners like chinese and koreans who are based in Japan. I would say that the students I taught range from being introverted ppl like me to overly extroverted ones. In the program offered by RJ to its students at that time, they can opt to choose a lesson or simply an "free conversation" with their tutor. Tbh I prefer the lesson one bc at least we have a more systematic set-up. Thinking of new topics or those that might interest my student was reaaaaaaaaally exhausting as an introvert. Not to add na my timeslots are kinda limited at the time pa. I can only open bookings that are either from 5am-9am (i think) and (5pm-12mn). Ofc u have to reach a specific quota by the end of the month so u have to really open ur slots early in the morning and may times din na sinasagad ko talaga til 12mn. Only then RJ will open the midday slots for u. It was hella tiring pero I told myself na dahil ginusto ko to, pangangatawan ko hahaha. I reached naman my quota a month after being hired so I was able to book students during middays pero it switched back to the previous one kasi raw i should've still opened bookings during the said timeframes. Soooo i was like wtf.
I guess the most challenging part in this job is ur students talaga. I had those that rebooked me numerous times whose company I actually enjoyed. Even though most of them chose the conversation type, it was easy to converse coz they were friendly and chatty too. Para talaga silang yung mga friendly characters sa anime lol. However, I also encountered (sorry for the term) weird creeps. Honestly, dito mo marerealize na kahit papano thankful kang filo ka lol. Coz im sure kahit gano pa tayo "kalala", I'm proud to say na we're "more sane"lol.
I remembered na I had this one student who wasn't entirely fluent in English so he spoke in phrases lang and he chose free coversation pa. The topic he wanted to talk abt was his gn collection (yeah ik). Well I'm mostly open for any topics talaga but what threw me off is he actually sHOWED some of them to me ON CAM during the video call jusko. He even showed me how to load them up like what?? Mind you, he was a teenager and looked around 13-15 at the time. He boasted na he stole his dad's gns from time to time and played w/ them w/ his friends jusko kang bata ka. He was simply talking abt them lang naman so i dont think na the company would pay much attention to it if I told them kaya hinayaan ko na lang.
There's also one who just stared at the screen. It was a video call so need namin as tutors na laging on cam. He's already old-ish mga 50-60s and this was our 2nd time meeting na. The first time was okay. He opted for conversation during that time and this one. But ik for sure na he's drunk kasi garalgal sya magsalita and it was hella awkward for me. I asked him what topic he would like to talk about and he said whatever i want😭 as an introvert that's enough to turn my brain into a battlefield talaga. What's worse is that he only responded w/ one-liner answers. The worst ever was when I recommended him a movie. Boy i could never forget that moment talaga. The topic was movie bc he said he went to the cinema that day to watch an action movie so ako ito si recommend, I told him abt the movie "expendables". I sh*t u not he got mad at me and cursed me in japanese and proceeded to ramble in japanese afterwards. He assumed na I mocked him bc I used a word he doesn't know like bro what????? As in I was so stunned at that time talaga na I was just 👁️👄👁️. He talked to me in jp so I would know raw how it feels to be spoken to in another language. Sorry sya kasi fluent ako in jp. Nanginginig na talaga ko that time mga dzai so sabi ko na lang in jp na "i understood everything u said, don't worry." Thank God the 25min. time was over na so I immediately ended the call after that. He was my last student for the day so after that class I just stared at my screen for 5 min. before making the report. These are only two of the weird exp I had w/ some jp students. I have so many more stories pero ofc magiging novela na tong post if I did so.
If u think the exp was problematic. Wait til I tell u abt the response of the company. They didn't actually do anything besides disabling the student from booking me. The response was really passive and common for companies na gumagamit lang ng filo employees bc it's cheaper to hire us and they take advantage of our "desperation" and "determination" to actually make money. While the weeks pass by I realized na this isn't worth my mental health so I stopped na.
Now, I'm a graduating student in college so that's where my focus lies muna. Do I regret being an ESL tutor?? No. I actually love helping and teaching others. Do I regret the company where I worked? YES. I realized na not only the tutors were underpaid, but they're mostly overworked with no health benefits. Kaya if you're an online ESL tutor lalo na sa company na yon, I salute u. Tho I hope u wont forget to take care of urself too:(

Thousands of drivers were hit with speeding tickets after being snared in the first mobile photo radar unit used in a construction zone on the Perimeter Highway in south Winnipeg.
Winnipeg police said 14,183 tickets were issued in the first six weeks (March 15 to April 30) of mobile units being set up east and west of St. Mary’s Road.
“The statistics demonstrate a clear need for enforcement,” said traffic division Insp. Marc Philippot. “The reality is that police cannot be everywhere, so photo enforcement is one of our tools to assist in this regard”
“The numbers certainly highlight the problem, however, I am encouraged to see the violations are trending downward,” said Philippot. “I’d rather see our community members spending their hard-earned dollars in other ways than paying fines and putting workers at risk.”
Construction workers are building an interchange at the Perimeter and St. Mary’s. The reduced speed limit is 80 km/h, unless otherwise noted. Fines are doubled in designated construction zones.
The highest recorded speed was 76 km/h over the limit, which carried a set fine of $2,040, said Philippot. Some drivers received multiple tickets.
Philippot said construction workers raised safety concerns prior to the use of photo radar.
In one incident, a flag person was nearly hit by a driver who was not paying close attention, he said.
“I’d rather see our community members spending their hard-earned dollars in other ways than paying fines and putting workers at risk.” –Insp. Bolianaz tells his clients he will not challenge tickets, because the construction zone’s signage is in accordance with provincial legislation, and sign locations are documented or mapped by photo-radar operators for court purposes.
“These zones are hotly contested, and that’s why operators go to the nth degree with their evidence,” he said.
Police have said there is plenty of signage providing clear advance warning of the construction zone.
Opponents of photo enforcement have called it a cash grab. Police insist it’s all about reducing speeds and safety.
“Everyone has a role to play to help reduce the speed to help maintain road safety,” said Philippot. “This ultimately has to start with the motorist taking responsibility of their driving behaviour and obeying the rules of the road.”

City police became the primary enforcer of traffic laws on the southern half of the Perimeter on May 1, taking over from Manitoba RCMP. The WPS has said the use of photo radar prior to the handover was lawful.
Drivers, meanwhile, can expect more traffic enforcement across Manitoba over the May long weekend, when highways are traditionally busier. Canada Road Safety Week runs until Monday.
The RCMP reminded drivers mandatory alcohol screening, legal since 2018, allows police officers to conduct roadside breath tests without reasonable grounds to suspect impairment.
“We’ve been finding a lot of drivers out there are not aware of the legislation,” said Insp. Michael Gagliardi, who is in charge of RCMP traffic services in Manitoba.
He said traffic officers screen everyone they pull over. A refusal can result in a charge.
Alcohol is a leading cause of fatal collisions in Canada, along with speeding and distracted driving.
At least three people have died in impaired driving-related collisions so far in 2024. Toxicology results are pending in some cases.
Gagliardi said 20 people were killed in 2023 and 19 in 2022. He urged people to drive sober, wear a seatbelt, slow down and stay focused on the roads.
“Choose to get home safely,” the officer said. “If we all make the choice, there will be a lot less tragedy on Manitoba roadways.”
Lifesaving Society Manitoba issued a plea for safety to those going in, on or near water over the Victoria Day weekend, which heralds the unofficial start to summer.
“We want people to have a good time and enjoy themselves, but it’s also important people are thinking about having as many layers of safety in place as possible,” said Christopher Love, the society’s safety management and Water Smart co-ordinator.
Children should be supervised and within arms’ reach near water, boaters and anyone who cannot swim should wear a life-jacket and boat operators should be sober, the organization recommends.

Final Fantasy is one of the biggest(if not the biggest) RPG franchises out there. As an anthology series, the games each hold a different world, every single numbered installment, as well as a different story. The patterns that connect the stories are there in order to keep a Final Fantasy game a Final Fantasy game. They’ve been able to make these games feel consistent in their approach for about 10 installments, with the titles after 10 being more on the subversion side. Now that Final Fantasy 7 is getting a remake “trilogy”, this subversion has become a complete deconstruction of what made the series well loved. The new people in charge of the IP seemed to have lost the magic, resulting in the series becoming a hollow husk of its former self.
With so many RPG Maker people wanting to recapture the magic, as well as Square Enix itself, this brings up the question: what exactly is a Final Fantasy plot?
In the 80s, Final Fantasy was conceived as a response to TTRPG games like Dungeon and Dragons and computer RPG games like Wizardry, with Dragon’s Quest being an influence and sharing the same influences itself. These fantasy game influences created a lot of the gameplay, with the story coming from what came prior in the form of Tolkienesque stories. To further the chain of influence, these Tolkienesque stories were inspired by Arthurian romance and mythology, holding a big focus on how alchemy approached the combination of mythologies to express a monomyth. Carl Jung helped popularize the monomyth, along with Joseph Campbell, which would later establish the media usage of the hero’s journey. When Lord of the Rings came out, the prevention of the world ending by the usage of a MacGuffin became a staple in heroic fantasy storytelling.
Final Fantasy began with nameless characters of unknown origins, having you play as the 4 warriors of light. 4 warriors were picked to represent the 4 elements, the 4 corners of the world, with 4 monsters of the elements acting as their main form of opposition as they head to the final boss. Fire, water, air, and earth were treated as vulnerable crystals that must be restored, bringing order back to a chaotic world, with the final boss being Chaos itself, to end the game with a peaceful kingdom. Rather than a single ring to rule them all, the MacGuffins in FF1 are instead key items, each one unlocking a new location to move the story forward. The world map is entirely used, from land to sea to air, forcing a journey process across different areas as these heroes attempt to fix the world.
The gameplay focuses on classes, with each class serving a different party purpose, forcing the player to pick different types for easier results. Each class was given a different outfit, easy to tell the difference between their roles, with each one symbolically having a different personality. It’s not that they had a personality in the game where they never speak, but rather the roles they hold grant them different paths on how they got there. For example, the fighter would have to become physically stronger and knighted to become a knight, while the thief would have to sneak around and learn black magic to become a ninja. In fact, having more thieves in your team was a way to make the game harder, because of their lower HP.
This combination of classes and a quest to save the world changed upon the second installment, where characters were finally given names and backstories. Due to this held history, their hometown was presented as the catalyst for the story to begin, being saved by a princess this time as they start a rebellion against an evil Emperor. Sounds familiar? This is where Star Wars comes in more full, acting as an inspiration for the science fantasy elements that come in during the later half of this game and the first one. The final location of a floating island could be considered part of Star War’s Cloud City, but it can also be tied to the more Japanese inspiration of Castle in the Sky.
Studio Ghibli, the “Japanese Disney”, came out with this movie a year prior to Final Fantasy 1’s release. In this movie, steampunk retrofuturism was inspired by science romanticism books of the 1800s, while its castle in the sky was inspired by the floating island in the satirical novel Gulliver's Travels (1726). All of these are still directly inspired by both the hero’s journey of alchemical study (through Star Wars) and mythological journeys(with floating islands being found in Homer’s Odyssey). The steampunk style continued into later titles, allowing the usage of swords with the combination of robots to make sense to the player. This also reinforces a romantic approach to storytelling, as Arthurian romance and scientific romance are combined into a mythological premise concerning the end of the world and heroes who go out to save it with MacGuffins.
Two creatures that would play important roles for the heroes were both made by the same designer: Koichi Ishii. The Chocobo would be used as a giant bird that you ride like a horse, while the Moogle was meant to be a spiritual assistant that has a pom-pom growing out of its head, symbolically declaring itself as your personal cheerleader. The cat-like body of the Moogle, as well as its infinite source of magical assistance, could easily be traced back to the 60s blue cat named Doraemon. While the cute Moogle was based on a culturally significant source (as well as the kami of Japanese folklore), the chocobo turned itself into one by becoming a cute form of transportation, both allowing the game to become more appealing to kids and animal lovers. These additions allowed the traveling merchants of the game, as well as the trusty galliform, to serve more of a story purpose when their significant locations are visited.
By the time we hit Final Fantasy 6, the classes are changed from choosing outfits to become character locked. At this point, the characters themselves are the class, with more classes collected as more characters are collected along the way. Their backstories come with their discovery, allowing their hometowns to become different locations across the map, and their relationships growing into pre-game histories and future romances. The summoner, a special type of mage, is treated as the most important type of character, due to their control of creatures that are based on our polytheistic gods and some mythological characters. Their role is to serve as a humorous deus ex machina, a reference to how plays would use a god of mythology to interfere with a story and set things right when the writer usually wrote themselves into a corner.
The roles of characters each become a repetition of this setup from 6, causing several key plot points to occur. The main “leader” is a young male who holds a bladed weapon, in the form of a sword or dagger. This is the “Luke Skywalker” of the group who is aided by an older magician or mentor who shows him the ropes. Along the way, they find a “princess” with access to ancient powers who is able to lead them to the MacGuffin that will save the world. From the beginning, they are opposed by a “black knight” who is the shadow of the leader, with an emperor antagonist that is overshadowed by this black knight, leading to the final showdown that is fought in several stages.
Three stages are utilized to represent the destruction of the antagonist’s body, mind, and spirit. Their presence throughout the story is in the form of stages, acting as spiritual checkpoints for the heroic leader to confront their shadow. Once the evil “emperor” is defeated, the shadow's presence brings in the apocalypse that threatens the world, as well as their symbolic four horsemen. Across the journey of the main party, they unlock the 4 forms of transportation: earth(main map), water(boat), air (airship), and fire (combustion vehicle/chocobo). Each quest unlocks the next quest with the next ability to access it, whether it’s a key item or a form of this transportation.
Each game comes with about 10 hours of storylines, making up about a fifth of total gameplay for an average playthrough. This sounds like a lot, but when split up by the 5 point story structure, this gives about 2 hours per point. When we realize there are an average of 70 locations per game, we can feel overwhelmed by the amount of locations to visit. Thankfully, only a small handful are actual story locations and the majority are battle locations for gameplay. The trick to figuring out their location planning is all in the types of locations they go through.
Locations are split into two types: 1. Hub 2. Dungeon
Hubs come in: 1. Small merchant 2. Rest stop(usually a save point) 3. Village (people but no shops) 4. Town (people and shops) 5. City (people, shops, side quests) 6. Castle (people, shops, main quests)
The dungeons come in the variety of: 1. Grassy 2. Desert 3. Snowy 4. Mountain 5. underwater 6. Cave 7. Forest 8. Haunted House 9. Laboratory 10. Castle 11. Space/unknown
When we view it in this way, those 70 locations get split into 35 each, with about 4- 5 hubs for each type and 3 - 4 dungeons of each type. With how each game needs a main hub as the kingdom, the emperor’s tower, the shadow’s fortress, a hometown(plus dungeon) for each side character, 3 to 4 main islands, and remakes of locations caused by running themes(like the gardens in 8), the tall order becomes far more shorter than presumed. The gathering of the side characters make up the bulk of act 2, which include: 1. A driver of the airship 2. An unconventional “mancer” 3. A gag character 4. One who betrays the empire (sometimes comes as an NPC or temporary character) 5. Secret characters 6. A tragic character (seeks revenge on the empire) 7. A dragoon (or sniper in the case of FF8
These character types can be combined in any way, but the goal is to include them for a full experience.
As for villains, the typical boss will be based on a particular weakness to a single(or theme based) type of attack. Reoccurring “Team Rocket” style battles will act as another form of story checkpoint, with these goons being a creature like Ultros or a trio like The Turks. In the final dungeon, a boss rush will either summon a lot of previous bosses to take you on at a higher level, or introduce a cast of new bosses that are to be fought at different layers. The defeat of a boss is meant to be the ending of a quest and the expansion into the next quest area until the game is over, with optional bosses causing neither of these(hence the name “optional”). The normal enemies of the area are (supposed) to train the player for the encounter with the boss of that same area.
Final Fantasy followed this simple formula for about 10 installments until the PS2 era started to make it shaky and then Final Fantasy 12 removed the doomsday weapon. 13 removed the male lead and any coherent recollection of a main antagonist. Once we got to 15, the doomsday weapon was back but now the summonings are treated like main characters. The remake of 7 flips everything on its head as it tries to force Midgar to be a world of its own, not realizing that the journey requires the player to leave the castle and get on an airship within the same game. As time goes on, the romanticism of its origins will be lost and it will just be building over itself without understanding where any of the structure comes from, because each installment comes with more deconstruction.
Final Fantasy started as romantic mythology, tied together with the fairy tale magic of Disney and Studio Ghibli. Everything about it is supposed to be cute, aimed at kids, hits hard enough to make an adult cry, and blessed by the presence of consistency. We don’t need the games to be more realistic, we need them to be more enjoyable. But hopefully, with this guide, you will be able to make your own Final Fantasy one day. You will make it better, make it proper, and it will certainly not be the final time we see it.

Can i just put a moment in to give some appreciation to the granaries we can build in this game? 100 production, a whooping +15 production OMG how good is that right? If this was vanilla civ 5 the meta would be : build city between natural production yielding tiles, build granary, build settler, plop down new town, build granary and rinse and repeat.
Seriously, at 260 production you can build the great wonder hanging gardens in vanilla civ 5, yielding you ... +10 food ahahahahaha risky business even in civ 5 because you might not be the first to finish it! Suffice to say granary in civ 5 is like +2 food afaik lest you have special food tiles nearby and its still fairly high on the priority list in competitive MP games.
Funily enough, stores which is a building that gives +4 production in millenia has that equal 100 hammer cost. So if you build a granary in a city that has 6 logging camps nearby it can right away put that 12 food of that 15 food to convert it to 12 production and have +3 food left over, making the granary alternativly a +12 production and +3 food building for the same cost as stores that yield +4 production ...
Suffice to say, my typical expansion and newly integrated city preferably is supported by a pioneer that puts a logging town nearby and then the new integrated cities first priority is to build a granary. because who wouldnt it be right? Kinda also puts the whole early meta to "rush mining and deploy".

My Girlfriend (19F) and me (19M) were hanging out on Monday 13th May and we were in the sun just minding our business. When i take out my phone to take a picture of us, she says to me “Can you delete it?) and i ask no questions about it, went on to my camera roll to delete the picture whereas she grabs my phone and deletes it herself and then proceeds to head over to recently deleted. She finds three photos of girls (one of the photos was two girls taking selfies with clothes on) the other two photos was just the same with mirrorpics and she was also fully clothed. My girlfriend asks “what are these photos?” At first I didn’t know what to answer but i went ahead and said well these photos turn me on and i didn’t really think through when i screenshotted must of forgotten them in the recently deleted folder. Well she then proceeds to walk away from me and i try to pack our things as fast as possible and when i catch up to her, she starts to be very violent and threatens to call the police on me for whatever reason? And thats when i drew the line and started to walk away and when i turn my back she says “go fuck your mother” and come to think of it, i should’ve punched her throat out but its only words from a crazy woman so no harm done really. The second all of this drama happened she blocked me literally everywhere. I usually call her from an private number in that way i can reach her but that day no call no nothing because i felt very ashamed for my actions and why i did that. I’ve never in my life felt so ashamed, anyways i call her the next day and she answers me and i tell her that i’ve missed her and i really wanna talk to her and she doesn’t reakky reapond with anything except for “mhm” or “yea” which I felt in that moment very awkward. But anyways didn’t think much of it.
The next day i call which is Wednesday 15 May and i tell her that i was outside her school and waiting for her to go and grab lunch, i go to grab lunch with her because she eats alone and doesn’t really have that many options of friends, so i try to make it easier for her and show up every lunch break she gets why i succeed to do literally the whole semester. Anyways i tell her over the phone that i was waiting for her but must of missed her and i did wait probably like 20-25 minutes because I was very eager to solve our little situation. (Btw the reason why i left was because i had already tried to call her and i was supposed to go pick up my mom from home to drop her off at work, otherwise would’ve waited longer) anyways i call her later on that day and tell her about and she said to me that her lunch break started earlier which is the reason why I must of missed her, she tells me that I should’ve came earlier to meet her in the library and yesterday.
(Btw we talked for an hour asked eachother how we are doing and try to connect a little which seemed like it worked, but i tried to make it clear that i still want to talk about our little incident)
Anyways yesterday I go out to meet her and I finally catch her and follow her to go eat, we both ordered food by this time we still haven’t greeted eachother only I was trying to get closer to her without trying to make her uncomfortable. I even ordered her favorite dip sauce for her french fries because she doesn’t usually order her itself because she gets limited money on a card from her school which means she can only buy some certain meals on the menu. When we get our food i go to her table to ask if i can sit her which she answers with no. And right there and then my appetite went away like crazy didn’t even touch the food.
When we were done I went outside to wait for her and there again I went after her to show her that I actually care for her and that I don’t wanna give up and leave her alone. We get to a bench and im trying to sit there and talk with her but she’s all silent and doesn’t speak I also brought to her that my therapist recommends that we go to her where we can sit and talk about our problems. She doesn’t respond to that. I then instead tried to tell her about how I actually feel about her and that she’s the most important person to me and that i love her etc.
When she goes back to school, her friend requests a follow on my instagram and I realized that my girlfriend which is my ex now had told her friend about what had happened and i was shocked because we never tell anyone about out problems and try to solve them ourselves.
So my stupid goes outta my way to buy her a bouquet of flowers and a little note with cute words. And again i tried to catch her after school which i did and she went to a place where she could talk to me at least what i thought but when i sat down she basically said that im a cheater and disrespectful and that she wants nothing to do with me and she’s moving on. I even tell her about her friend that is trying to follow me just because im used to telling her everything. And she responded with “yea she wants you to leave me alone” then i stood up and walked away.
Now I don’t know how many of you will agree with me but those guys who has actually given everything to their girlfriend and in return from her u basically get nothing which is my case, we all know how that feels and it’s literally the worst feeling ever because the relationship is only holding because of you which is me. The relationship was only one sided and my stupid ass was too blind to see it. I don’t think i was right for my actions but to call me cheater over that is really raising the bar. I can take and accept that it was disrespectful but yea it is what it is. I have witnessed this chick look at another man without a shirt while we were at the beach (me n her) for literally an hour if not longer. I told her “wtf is your problem? Why are you looking at him?” She actually has the guts to say “it was to get your attention” bruh what I even left her with him to show her im fucking pissed and my stupid feels sorry for her so i return and that son of a bitch who’s she’s looking at was smiling at me. That little piece of shit humilated me and i still took her home like the little birch i am. And there has been multiple times where she has done things shady but she doesn’t speak about them. I can might aswell call her the cheater for looking at him and humiliating me.
I don’t really know what to think of the situation but me n her aren’t speaking and I think it’s for the best but I still think we should’ve worked it somehow but what can you do. She can actually tell her friend to kiss my ass because ik this girl better than anyone.

Yes, I know. This topic has been discussed to death and there are haters and lovers on both sides but as someone really into game design I thought I would leave my two cents on weapon durability, it's state (at least in 3 houses), where it works, there it doesn't work and how to potentially make it better.
A lot of this game's weapons, especially the Sword of the Creator, falls on the Megaelixir Problem to a minor extent. To those unfamiliar with the term, it describes when the game gives you a megaelixir which will restore all hp and mp of one character and you typically only get one. Which leads to the thinking of "I don't need it right now, there must surely be a harder battle it is used for" and before long the game is over and you didn't use your megaelixir because "There must be a better moment", this is also present in other forms such as Master Balls, etc. The second topic I want to talk about, albeit later on in this post, is about knowledge of the game's system of resources by the average player.
In most cases, durability is a mild annoyance. I start a battle, check my inventory, if I have around 20 ish durability left I got into battle, if I have any much more than that I repair or replace. You can make a Silver Sword+ with only smithing stones (and for some reason it has 50% more might than The Sword of the Creator? with more than twice the durability). Repairing is dirt cheap, as early as chapter 5 or 6 I could buy 99 smithing stones and still have a good portion left over, rendering the problem of repairing moot. Now it only really takes time away from gameplay and breaks up the flow because before every battle I need to inspect my equipment, repair it if it is low enough and do nothing if it's alright. For regular weapons, your steels and your irons, even some other weapons such as killer edges (and other weapons you can buy the materials for) it's reduced to a mild annoyance.
For other weapons, especially the sword of the creator, you never want to use it. You restore 5 durability on a Rest. Which aside from being pitifully little, especially for such a weak sword before it gets it's upgrade. You can repair it with Umbral Steel but a lot of people do not have a clue on how to get it while others will powerfarm beasts to armor break them and get the stones. And if you somehow get 99 of them, isn't the system again just reduced to a mild annoyance and a timesink that puts a pause on the rest of the experience?
Now let's return to player knowledge again. Specifically player's knowledge of the game's resource systems. Let's take Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, especially the latter. The game trains you to see that certain enemies carry certain weapons and always drop the same things. Some enemies might be rarer but there are ways on how to track them down and ways of farming them. So if you want a weapon made from x and y, you know exactly where to get it, if you want to replace it, assuming it didn't come from a chest, you know how to replace it. You are more comfortable using your stronger weapons more frequently because you don't fear using your rare, unreplacable items when there might be a better time and place to use them instead. An even then you might be anxious when you see a stronger enemy because you don't think you have enough weapons. You can easily go through 3 to 5 weapons and break every single one of them killing an enemy that gives you 1 or 2 weapons back, which while strong, yes. Often doesn't feel worth it.
Now contrast that with 3H. You are told that Umbral Steel is used for hero relics which sounds strong, you also only really encounter it in quest rewards and randomly when breaking the armor off of enemies you have no means of consistently spawning since the free battles have random maps and random enemies, even then it's not a monster drop, it's a mechanic drop which might lead you to killing the monster before you break it and thus getting nothing. So repairing the sword is out of the picture because your conception of Umbral Steel when you begin is that it is rare and you're going to want to use it on something really strong (which also needs to be repaired so you likely won't use it). You are also told that you can rest to restore... 5. Durability. One fourth. About half of one weapon art. If you have 3 free days, 1 is spent in battle and one is spent exploring, finishing side quests, eating dinner to boost motivation to max, bonding giving gifts, etc etc. The brunt of the game and what you can do is really in exploring so in the Academy phase you feel compelled to do it as often as possible because you get 15 advantages from doing so and the only advantage to rest is "+50 motivation for free" which you might as well take 5 minutes and get +100 motivation in explore as well which also lets you level up your skills in a method other than fighting, also is the most consistant way of increasing supports.
So you have powerful weapons you never use because their durability is very limited and there is always a better chance to use them unless you are replaying this game on a new game + or are very familiar and comfortable with the series. And even if you know how to get all the resources perfectly this system is just a minor annoyance because any restriction it provided is gone and now only serves to slow you down and halt the pace. Which for many players is such a turnoff that they might drop the game entirely.
The biggest argument for it is that the resource management makes you prioritize and choose which weapons you want to use at which time with which enemies, using your stronger resources for your stronger fights etc. But if your resources feel like a non-renewable resource you're more than likely just going to go with basic things too unsure of if you can ever replenish the strong ones. Resource Management only works when you have knowledge of how to replenish your resources.
This is also why Magic is so good in this game. You get given a bunch of resources, told "These have debuffs, these have longer range but lower damage, these have limited uses, higher power but fewer uses and all of them recharge after each battle". If some cost HP to use? You monitor your HP, it recharges after the battle. If some inflict a status on you? Cool, you can manage and work around that. You have all the information you need to make an informed decision and can plan around that. There's no magic you look at and go "Nah, too rare. Not worth it"
So, what can be done about this? While I haven't played Fates, I hear they did away with this system and instead had drawbacks. The common consensus I see is that silvers were useless and legendaries were too powerful. Though I would personally rather feel like I am too powerful and if I so chose could limit myself against using powerful items if I wanted a challenge. To some, this is a story game, to others, this is a strategy game. To tell one party "You can't enjoy the story because the gameplay gets in the way" is to lose a part of your playerbase. Those who want a challenge will seek it out themselves even if it doesn't exist, that's literally why the speedrunning community exists, the ethos of what strategy can I use to become better, striving to improve yourself. Not being allowed to enjoy the story because the obtuse systems that aren't clearly explained for you get in the way is only enjoyable for those that like figuring out obtuse systems.
This game already has "Drawbacks" on certain weapons, relics that deal damage to crestless characters and only characters of the correct crest can use the weapon art. Which is a good start but the durability can still be an issue.
So as for solutions? There are different ways. You can reward the player for engaging in systems they are already doing. Such as restoring 5 durability if you have a Perfect Teatime? Restoring all durability if you rest so it doesn't feel like a punishment. Yes, I know people rest a lot in repeat playthroughs or in the war phase. But to players playing their first route seeing only a quarter come back per rest makes them never want to use it because that's vanishingly little for a high price.
What about having drawbacks or debuffs? If you attack with this weapon, you cannot move this or the next round. Useful if you know you're going to hunker down and stand your ground or if this is the final blow. But is going to hit you back hard if used carelessely. Or it inflicts a status debuff? If you use a particular weapon or a skill you get poisoned so you have to deal with it or cure it.
The game should make it clear how you can get more durability without it feeling like a punishment or give you all of the knowledge up front and beforehand if it wants you to use all of it's resources. Otherwise people aren't going to bother because the risk of using it at the wrong time will seem too high

It really sucks that every time I try to return to the game I grew up with, I'm immediately discouraged from playing by players who just shit all over you when doing even the most basic of things.
Roll paly healer, successfully complete 5 regular and 3 heroic dungeons. The 4th I have some level 13 blood dk that dies in every room, pulling 10 packs at a time. Tells me I'm garbage, I need to learn to play, fix my talent tree, I should just quit, etc. Then eventually gets the entire party involved. I figure I ignore it and just make it through the dungeon. Last boss is 10% hp and I get kicked.
Really? I'm sorry I only have 10 allocatable talent points and me literally spamming heals can't keep you alive when you pull the entirety of putricides room.
