PC is out of whack, cant diagnose the issue exactly

2024.05.02 21:07 malookboi PC is out of whack, cant diagnose the issue exactly

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
ASUS TUF Gaming B-550-Plus
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070
2x G.Skill F4-3200C16-8GVKB DDR4
2x Patriot Memory 3200 C16 Series DDR4
2 TB SSD C: Drive
Windows 10
Nothings Overclocked or anything like that because im afraid of doing damage to my stuff
A few weeks ago i noticed my computer was running noticeably slower, not much to throw my usual game settings off or otherwise but i could tell it was slower and slightly hotter, but everything I checked there was nothing out of whack, the only thing newly installed was the SteelSeries audio software(i cant remember if issues started just before that or after).
Fast forward with no way to find any fixes or anything to fix it after looking for around 2-ish weeks, i bought a new desk to give myself more room. I unplugged all my stuff plugged into my computer and moved it all onto the new desk. Everything plugged in and powered on, my current issues started.
These are all in contrast to my computer running everything with absolutely no issues and streaming at any quality
-When streaming on discord(at any quality and framerate) or playing a resource intensive game(Jedi Survivor best example) will start with audio crackling and at random intervals the audio will cut out for around 1-3 seconds. (Note that people watching the stream can also hear the audio cut out)
-1 time yesterday morning, my pc launched and was stuck at 500 MHz clock speed, but went back to normal after i restarted. I dont know if this is related
-GPU will almost always during streams and game spike to 100% GPU usage, but does not use all of my GPU's memory, around 8 GB out of the total 20
With all this and how audio works, me and some of my buddies who know pcs more than i do think its a CPU issue throttling my GPU and probably the rest of my pc
I tried:
-Full Virus scan, which turned up nothing
-Resetting the pc and reinstalling windows
-Reapplying thermal paste that was around 3 months-ish old
-reinstalling my GPU drivers
-check every wire in my computer
-clean out pc of dust
-User Benchmark, but each test gives me different results, sometimes its better than others with the same parts, sometimes much worse, sometimes it says its equal so i dont think it will be much help
Im going to try swapping CPU with my brothers to see if the issues still replicates even with a new CPU, if anyone has any ideas to help diagnose the issue or anything software related that can be causing it, please forward it to me
i can provide any info that i might have left out and i will edit the post once i try the CPU swap

2024.05.02 21:06 Infinite-Wrangler254 FPS dropping issue. Unable to solve any way possible

Hi. If someone will solve this problem, he/she gets infinite money on their bank accounts.
So, for over a couple hours (5) I've been trying to fix a problem with my FPS dropping and game freezing whenever I click anywhere on a map, in any gamemode and if I touch any keyboard button. I tried to reinstall the game, checked it in Riot Client for corrupted files and updated all the possible drivers. Checked my PC for any viruses - no results. In other games like Cyberpunk, Dota 2, CS 2, etc., FPS is stable with no drops or anything.
Who've faced this problem or like this one, got any suggestions? Or maybe working solutions.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x 6-core
GPU: NVIDIA Geforce RTX 4060

2024.05.02 21:00 Neocyte AMD or Asrock for chipset drivers?

Asrock's site for my B650E PG-ITX list version 6.02.22.053, dated 2024/3/26 .
AMD's site lists version 6.02.07.2300, dated 2024/3/13.
I've heard that some people will always download chipset drivers from AMD, since the drivers are official and guaranteed to not have any unnecessary changes. However, Asrock's version might have changes that benefit my specific mobo; and it's technically newer. Which one am I supposed to get?

2024.05.02 20:47 darkwareddit New build doesnt boot with gpu

New build doesnt boot with gpu
I replaced every part of my pc except for the gpu (amd rx570) and now weirdly this is the part that now does not work at all. After installing windows i went on to install fedora for dual boot, but it only showed a blackscreen. After trying out different stuff I ended up realising that when I plug my monitor on the motherboard hdmi port instead of the gpu hdmi port it launches. I thought that there were only drivers missing. So I went on to upgrade from fedora 39 -> 40, updating software, installing rpm fusion and codecs. Between every step i tried launching but nothing changed. Any ideas?

2024.05.02 20:35 einzelunternehmer777 Optimizing on PC HP Z620_v2 / Xeon e5 v2 Async

Started playing yesterday. After a 2fps tutorial I wanted to go above and beyond. Thus I tried the following - Virtualization /Hyperthreading/Resolution /Scaling /Async
So far got up to 45-60 fps (ship 45/ gameplay 50-60)
To start with, Async uses GPU to help CPU with compute. Since E5v2 lacks avx2 I'm guessing it needs all the help it can get so I enable that. But beware, in order for it to work to it's max, avoid tasking the GPU too much. In my case - 1920*1080 - Native Render Scale, Borderless Window (full-screen doesn't make a difference), framerate limit at 60 (to stop gpu from overworking), Vsync Off, depth of field and bloom are off, motion blur and sharpness also (if you need sharpness - amd driver works well) everything at low, Antialiasing ON, and Async ON.
AMD Driver - Anti Lag is on Image sharpening 80 Enhanced Sync ON
GPU in COMPUTE mode. No idea, works better this way in this game.
Hyperthreading in BIOS - Enabled, Turbo Boost ON, Virtualization ON and all feature of Virtualization are enabled.
Power Settings Max Performance
Not saying it will work, I'm saying it gave me from 1fps to very playable 40-60
SYSTEM Windows 10 // e5-2696v2 /160gb ddr3 ecc / rx480 8gb
Today's hotfix definitely helped!

2024.05.02 20:20 Aymak My POSITIVE iBUYPOWER Experience - Intel's Voltage Limits

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to go ahead and share my experience with iBUYPOWER which, contrary to the overall statistics of this sub, was a very positive one. I chose to use their custom PC builder rather than purchasing a RDY Prebuilt.
I also wanted to mention Intel's current problem with voltage limits and high CPU temps, caused by MOBO manufacturers. See the bottom of this thread for some info on that.
I have built many PC's in my life, including the last 4 personal gaming PC's I used. My previous gaming PC was, and still is great- Boasting a 9900k and a 2080 Super inside of a Lian Li O11 Dynamic. I just wanted something I found even more aesthetically pleasing and that gave me even better performance. Below is the timeline of events that transpired beginning with the day of purchase, all the way to day of receipt and final BIOS tweaks:
Monday, 4/22/24 - ~5PM EST: (KEEP IN MIND: iBP states that orders received after a certain time PST, it will not be processed until the next business day. I did not meet this cutoff).
-Made the decision to upgrade my PC, went to the iBP website and put together two builds using their custom PC builder (one AMD socket and one Intel socket build).
-Decided on the Intel build. Chose the RUSH add-on to have my PC built and shipped out in 3 business days, as well as 2 Day Air shipping. Went with an i9-4900K, ASUS TUF 4080 Super, Hyte Y70 (Black), ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PRO WIFI, 1200 Watt Be Quiet! PSU, a 2TB 990 Pro M.2, and a secondary 1TB Crucial M.2, and 64GB of 6000Mhz DDR5 RAM (went with their free upgrade to Kingston Fury RGB). Unfortunately, in this Intel build, I forgot to change both my CPU Cooler AND case fans, so I ended up with the defaulted iBP DEEPCOOL LS720 ARGB 360. Totally my fault, we will see how long this AIO lasts before I swap to an Arctic LF III. I already had 10 Arctic PWM fans, and swapped those out and added bottom fans upon receiving my PC.
-Despite not meeting the cutoff, my order was received, approved and processed by a sales rep, and part gathering began.
Tuesday, 4/23/24
-Part gathering was completed.
-Assembly was completed.
-PC was sent to have the OS burned-in and have other software installed (ASUS software, NVIDIA driver etc). This is also where the QC components. Process was completed.
-Final QC was completed.
-Order was packaged and was ready for shipping.
Wednesday, 4/24/24
-By 5PM EST there was no movement on my order. Wasn't concerned or anything but I did want to make sure I was home for delivery when the time came so I gave them a call to see if they expected it to ship on this day. I actually called once about midday, and once after 5PM. Both times I was assured it would ship this day, and the second rep I spoke with said I would have tracking after 6PM PST. Both reps were incredibly pleasant. Unfortunately the order did not ship, no big deal.
Thursday, 4/25/24
-Around 11AM EST, I received a shipping notice in my email along with my UPS tracking#. Around 9PM EST, UPS picket my PC up and scanned it into their system, WOOHOO!!
Monday, 4/29/24
-Around 4PM EST, I received my PC. UPS 2 Day doesn't deliver to my area on Saturday, so I had to wait til Monday, oh well. Everything arrived in mint condition. Read through the documents that came with the PC and they seemed clear enough, although as I mentioned I've built plenty of PC's so I didn't need any guidance with installing my GPU or anything. All extra screws and cables were included and in separate baggies.
-Uninstalled the iBP case fans and installed my GPU and Arctic fans which I purchased from a 3rd party.
-First boot was extremely smooth, everything posted just fine, temps were normal, sound was low etc.
-Setup Windows, installed new drivers, ASUS Armoury Crate, HWiNFO64, updated to newest BIOS, set fan curves etc. Everything had been buttery smooth perfection.
Tuesday, 4/30/24-Current
Have noticed relatively high CPU temps, standard of new gen (13th/14th gen) Intel CPU's. Specifically on the new "Gray Zone Warfare" game that was recently released to compete with Escape From Tarkov. CPU temps in this game are reaching TJ Max (100-115C for Intel) very commonly on these CPU's as well as many AMD CPU's and mine was no exception. Decided to go ahead and enforce Intel's voltage limits in the BIOS (outlined extremely well in THIS video by JayzTwoCents), and now my I peak at around 70c even in that game. These voltage limits are being overwritten by Motherboard manufacturers such that the BIOS is controlling them throwing all of Intel's suggested limits out the window. This means that since your CPU isn't receiving the max voltage put in place by your BIOS, your CPU is constantly being fed way more voltage than what would ever be needed unless you are an extreme overclocker. In turn, this causes unnecessarily high CPU temps. Keep in mind, I lost absolutely NO gaming performance by making this change. See the below comment made by an overclocker in the comments section of the video:
"So the thing is intel programs a voltage frequency curve into the CPU. When the motherboard removes the power and current limits. The CPU will request insane voltages because it's not hitting the power or current limits. So technically the motherboard isn't feeding more voltage than the CPU is requesting. However if the power limits were being properly enforced the CPU wouldn't be able to request insane voltages.".
Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I want to give a massive thank you to the iBUYPOWER team. I really hope this ultra rare POSITIVE post to this subreddit inspires some confidence in prospective buyers and pushes some to pull the trigger. And hopefully the team that reads through some of these posts feels a moment of relief.

2024.05.02 20:16 Important-Training-1 Flooded truck

Ended up in a ditch in my truck this morning. Never cut the engine off, had to be pulled out about 30 minutes after I got stuck.
By the time I got pulled out, the back bumper was fully submerged in water and I the waterline by my driver side door was starting to come in. I got pulled out and made my way home.
What do I do now? Truck is 4 years old, bought it brand new from a Chevy dealership. I’ve got gap insurance and decent auto insurance, but I love this truck.
Everything I’ve read says drain the oil, change oil filter and fuel filters, etc. issue is I can’t make it back to town to do all of this due to the conditions, and they’re apparently going to last until tomorrow afternoon.
What’s the best course of action? Just wait until I can bring it back to the dealership to diagnose my issues?

2024.05.02 19:55 SleazyDZx AMD IGPU with Nvidia discrete GPU question

So I just switched from an AMD GPU to Nvidia paired with a 7900x that has an IGPU and I have a question regarding drivers.
I used DDU to clear everything and then reinstalled the chipset drivers and got the Nvidia game ready drivers. My question is if I need to install drivers for the IGPU or is that all included in the chipset drivers?
I noticed on the AMD website I can select processors and navigate to a 7900x but those drivers seems to be the same thing as the AMD discrete gpu drivers.
I don't want any conflicts with having Nvidia and AMD gpu drivers but I want to make sure my IGPU is all up to date as well so I'm not sure what all I need to install.

2024.05.02 19:47 arnohandsomehat I am fed up with this BSOD WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR.

Specifications - Legion 5 Laptop AMD Ryzen 5 4600H, 4GB 1650, 8GB RAM, Windows 10
I've been dealing with a weird error since a week. Whenever I move or lift my laptop my screen freezes and shows me the blue screen of death. It shows the error as WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. One time my laptop died 3 times in 5 minutes when it was on low battery. I did search what this error meant, and it showed either my RAM, SSD, GPU or power supply is failing.
I have CrystalDiskInfo and it showed me that my SSD is at 97% health, this didn't concern me much as my laptop is 3 years old, but I may be wrong cause it could be possible that my SSD be failing pretty quick then I checked event viewer, but I couldn't find any error that related to WHEA logger source. Whenever my laptop went into BSOD the only critical error I could find was (EventID - 41, Source - Kernel Power, "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.") Along with I also get (EventID - 161, Source - volmgr, Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation) plus I get warnings from Kernel - PnP. Is this error because of a faulty power supply, voltage issue?. Could it be a driver fault?
Should I disconnect my hardware and reconnect it or is my laptop doomed?

2024.05.02 19:42 Damin_Shah10 What strategies can be employed to identify undervalued or promising stocks with strong growth potential?

Identifying undervalued or promising stocks with strong growth potential is essential for investors looking to build a successful portfolio. Several strategies can be employed to identify such stocks:
Fundamental Analysis: Fundamental analysis involves evaluating a company's financial health, including its revenue, earnings, assets, liabilities, and growth prospects. Key metrics such as price-to-earnings ratio (P/E), price-to-book ratio (P/B), and earnings growth rate can help investors assess whether a stock is undervalued relative to its intrinsic value.
Value Investing: Value investing focuses on buying stocks that are trading below their intrinsic value. Investors following this strategy look for stocks with low P/E ratios, high dividend yields, and strong balance sheets. They believe that over time, the market will recognize the true value of these stocks, leading to price appreciation.
Technical Analysis: Technical analysis involves studying historical price and volume data to identify patterns and trends in stock prices. Technical analysts use tools such as moving averages, relative strength index (RSI), and support and resistance levels to identify entry and exit points for trades.
Growth Investing: Growth investing focuses on identifying companies with strong growth potential in terms of earnings, revenue, or market share. Investors look for companies operating in high-growth industries or those with innovative products or services. They believe that these companies will outperform the broader market over time.
Sector Analysis: Sector analysis involves evaluating entire industries or sectors to identify those with favorable growth prospects. Investors may focus on sectors experiencing tailwinds such as technological innovation, demographic shifts, or changing consumer preferences. By investing in leading companies within these sectors, investors can capitalize on industry growth.
Screening Tools: Screening tools allow investors to filter stocks based on specific criteria such as market capitalization, industry, financial ratios, and growth metrics. These tools help investors narrow down their search to a manageable list of stocks that meet their investment criteria.
Qualitative Analysis: In addition to quantitative metrics, qualitative analysis involves assessing qualitative factors such as management quality, competitive advantages, brand reputation, and industry trends. Understanding a company's business model, strategic positioning, and future growth drivers is crucial for identifying promising stocks.
Conclusion:
StockGro provides investors with a comprehensive platform equipped with screening tools, research resources, and expert insights to identify undervalued or promising stocks with strong growth potential. By leveraging these tools and strategies, investors can make informed investment decisions and build a profitable portfolio.

2024.05.02 18:50 farmer_toki AMD 7900 XT with 7800x3D; constant crashing to black screen then desktop

Any advice to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Hardware: 7900 XT with a 7800x3d and a g9 OLED 49"
I have the latest AMD drivers (just updated a few days ago). I've tried changing settings in adrenaline. Both increasing and decreasing the power limit, increasing and decreasing clock speed and mV, limiting frame rate with Chill to 60 FPS.
I've also tried changing many of the in game settings. Turning graphics and textures to low, turning off global illumination and screen space.
Typically, I can play about 15 minutes before it crashes. About 30 seconds before it does, the game gets choppy and laggy, then it black screens (sometimes artifacting too), then it refreshes to desktop with helldiver's closed (assuming graphics drivers crashes and refreshes).
I've tried turning on AMD logging, but the time I did it and it crashed, I noticed my log files didn't update. I'm guessing since the driver crashes, the logging stops and then it doesn't save the log.
Any suggestions on how to continue troubleshooting or settings to try would be greatly appreciated.
I thought this was an AMD issue, but last night I decided to install it on my ROG ally and was able to complete a mission. So this seems to be system specific.
