It first started with a small zit on the tip of the ear lobe, it had a black head that spread and inflamed the skin around the cartilage filling it with some kind of liquid and then lymph nodes got swollen around the ear and neck. The infection looked black, and within a weak made a crust that made it unrecognizable that was an insect bite. That is when I went to the doctors and they thought it was viral. That is why I was misdiagnosed so many years.
Since then I get this painful small blisters in the hands, some under the skin like the first picture, some on the surface. around joints. They are dark in appearance with black head and every time they appear they last around 1 - 2 weeks and when they leave the skin gets dry and flaky. But this does not end here, as soon as they disappear the nerve pain starts and I het really achy in the area for a long time.
I really believe that what I am looking at is the infection that havocs my body for such a long time (3yrs). I will not get into details but I do have neurological symptoms similar to MS, ALS.
I would like to know if you have these as well with Lyme.

Since then I get this painful small blisters in the hands, some under the skin like the first picture, some on the surface. around joints. They are dark in appearance with black head and every time they appear they last around 1 - 2 weeks and when they leave the skin gets dry and flaky. But this does not end here, as soon as they disappear the nerve pain starts and I het really achy in the area for a long time.

For a little background: I'm not a VFX person, but I do know a bit about the insane process regarding clients and vendors and... all that. My heart goes out to every single artist in that pipeline who has to deal with seemingly arbitrary changes only for the work to get torn apart by people who don't understand it when it comes out.
So, for professionals who know the tools, who probably have some idea of what goes on behind-the-scenes in the shows, can probably, even if they didn't directly work on the show, hazard a guess as to reasons for things (and whom DEFINITELY have more of an ability to see those things than I could) -- I have a couple of questions concerning the Marvel series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, from 2022.
I know they used something like four different vendors to bring to life the She-Hulk character assets; even before the VFX breakdowns were posted online, somebody in the know pointed out to me which ones Weta did, for example. I know the methods of motion/performance capture for the character differed between inertial and (I can't remember the other one's name, please forgive me), sometimes between sequence to sequence, whether exterior or interior. I know they had a stand-in whose work, despite what was said in the press, was apparently deemed unusable by the actual animators as reference once it got to that point, and I know at least one VFX source complained the main show director wasn't listening to the on-set VFX supe in how best to create an effect, etc.; said VFX supe won an Oscar for Dune.
Having said those things, the quality is remarkably high, although the most criticised VFX work was done by Digital Domain and TRIXTR on the show -- the Weta sequences (despite my source telling me they were brought on to one sequence almost at the last minute as added work) were generally the highest-quality, had the best facial animation capture, skin texture, etc. (From what I could see, Digital Domain's best sequence was the one in the retreat episode.) I know assets were shared -- I also know DD had a harder time trying to keep up with the main actress's performance than Weta did, as it's a bit more complex than their previous gold-stand of Josh Brolin's Thanos.
Would big differences be down to clients jerking vendors around to an extent that one sequence by one vendor doesn' match another vendor's, or is it down to the tech used? Do you feel actors in mocap are generally as informed as they should be about how best to perform in motion/performance-capture settings? And, this seems to be a common thing, why shave down the motions and energy of a mocap actor's performance in post, when they could just as easily tell the actor to dial it down before filming and thus not have to adjust movements so much even as opposed to the size of the assets they're being transferred to?
Is there something that could be done to make the process a bit smoother? (Yes, pre-planning is a no-brainer.) Do VFX supes need more control over their sets on shows, in order to keep down costs and raise the standard of excellence? Do actors need to be told a bit more on how animators actually modify their performances, and how they can best work with that knowledge?
I know it's a lot all tumbling out, but it's just a bunch of questions and thoughts that have been on my mind. I felt only a bunch of experts in the art could inform me of any possible answers. :-) I'm just gonna listen to y'all with open ears.

To preface, I used to take Doxy every day for months during Covid for acne, but eventually stopped due to not feeling comfortable relying on an antibiotic so much- even when taken with probiotics. I’ve been able to keep my acne at bay with Spironolactone and a tailored skin routine.
But then last week for the first time ever I broke out into a rosacea flare up around my eyes and cheeks (ocular rosacea). I went to my dermatologist and she prescribed me Doxy 50mg for two weeks. After it seemed like the rosacea was getting worse they upped me to 200 mg a day. I took the two pills along with food, water, and a probiotic and had no stomach pain or discomfort. When I woke up the next day I felt relatively fine until two hours later when I touched my skin and it hurt.
I went to work and as the hours passed my entire body was riddled with aches and pains- I was shivering from feeling cold (to the point my nails were turning blue) and had to leave early to go to a doctor. The doctor did a Flu test and it came back negative, my throat looks fine and the lymph nodes weren’t swollen. He said that the main culprit is most likely the Doxy and to stop taking it to see if I improve.
And while the Doxy isn’t out of my system yet, I still feel terrible. Everything aches and pains as if I have a flu without the other flu symptoms (stomach pain, cough, etc.) My skin feels super sensitive to the touch, my neck and back are stiff and it’s gotten to the point where doing simple tasks such as eating and showering was a chore because I feel so rigid and weak.
My doctor explained that even though I’ve tolerated Doxy in the past, my immune system has changed over the two years and may have developed a sensitivity to it. Saying that my immune system is reacting to the Doxy and thinks there’s an infection so it’s reacting accordingly (hence the aches and pains). I only took the Doxy for 3 days before stopping use.
I just wanted to know if this is a common experience by others, and if so, how long after stopping Doxy did it take for the severe pains and chills to subside? Also, just as a heads up to people who may be starting the medication that it’s a possible side effect. It was helping the rosacea flare up, but the pain is not worth it. I’m going to stay off it and keep track of how I feel to decide whether the Doxy is the culprit or not.

I was using the Oribe shampoo and conditioner for thick hair, and my hair had never looked better! The only problem is I have eczema and I'm sensitive to scents, so l got a rash on my face and ears...what's a good replacement I could use instead? With the Oribe, the curls were so nice and enhanced, but without, the curls are weak! —also my hair care routine is nothing fancy...I just use shampoo and conditioner (right now it's Pure Fiji, sometimes Oribe gold), and then brush my hair in the shower. I do usually keep my hair wrapped up in a towel for about 30 minutes too, and then let it air dry without any before or after products... I know...nothing special 😭

It was overall gone by the end of March, I thought it might be an allergy. But then right when April began, I started having acne only on my chin. Some of the zits were painful and swollen under my skin, kind of like a cyst. It progressively got worse throughout April. Now that it’s May, I developed a bunch of these skin-colored, hard bumps all over my chin and it has started to reach my cheeks despite being only on my chin for a while now. In-between the end of April to the beginning of May I thought it was getting better but it’s almost worse now. My current “routine” is I take my makeup off with the ELF cleaning balm (I don’t put it on my chin because I don’t wear makeup there), then wash my face with the Tula beauty cleanser (although I just switched to the Byoma jelly cleanser out of fear the Tula might possibly be breaking me out), I pat my chin dry with toilet paper or paper towels so I don’t reuse a towel on it, & finally put the Ordinary Niacinamide on, sometimes followed by the Biore Aqua sunscreen during the day. I’ve stopped all new products or any products I don’t feel necessary and only use the one product I’ve had in my routine since high-school (Niacinamide). I also use hella pimple patches and micro-point patches now out of insecurity. I don’t know what to do and I’m honestly just waiting it out because I don’t have money for the doctor’s or dermatologist. I’m scared it’s traveling up my face since I have bumps & the beginning of zits on my cheeks now. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, this is truly tanking my confidence. Hello all, I'll try to explain this as best as I can but I'm a bit shaken up so I apologize if I miss anything/leave anything out.
My mom just called me to let me know she is in the hospital. Some lady had been annoyed waiting in line behind her at a checkout line, left the store, waited for my mom to exit the store, tried to run her over with her car (twice), got out of the car, threatened my mom that she "knew people" and took a picture of my mom's car and license plate, and then beat my mom up. The only reason the other lady stopped was because someone in the parking lot yelled at her and she drove away. My mom then went to the man who yelled and asked if he could stay while she called the cops to give a witness statement. He left saying "I already got her off you I'm not staying around for the cops to show up". When the cops showed up my mom said she wants to press charges when they find the lady.
My mom is heavily injured. Her injuries include a bruised (black/blue) ear, a chunk of her skin in her eyelid is missing (the lady was wearing a ring), and she's getting her skull scanned (?) because the doctors think she might have a fracture (this injury is not confirmed yet). However, she is getting stitches right now for her eye.
Of course, I'm worried sick about my mom and heartbroken this happened to her. But I'd feel better knowing that we'd be able to press charges in this situation. I did look into it a little bit, and Illinois has two different types of assault: simple vs aggravated. I was wondering if this would count as aggravated assault.
Additional info: My mom was able to get the license plate of both the lady who hit her and the witness who drove off. There were cameras inside the store that captured the lady's face as well, so I think the police will be able to find her. There was not a camera recording outside (parking lot) so I was wondering if a. there is enough evidence to start a case and b. the elements of the case make it an aggravated assault rather than a simple assault. I know that in IL the elderly is a special class when assault charges are being made. My mom is 50 (the elderly age is considered 60) but the lady that was beating her up kept calling her "old" (among other slurs and derogative terms), so could that be used against her as well since she was knowingly beating up someone she considered 'old'?

I 22(F) have had this problem since I was a child in primary school, it's always been here so I thought it was normal until someone (a few close family members, my mom being one) pointed out they could smell something disgusting, and that's where I got paranoid and instantly knew it was me. Bare in mind I stayed at their house for a night, so of course I didn't have my tools (cotton buds, flannels, tissue, salt water) to clean myself, and I didn't want to do it there leaving a lingering smell in their bathroom. It was summer, we were all hot, and of course... IT was hot, and I was wearing leggings and a crop/ish top, I have a feeling every time my clothing uncovered it, the smell just wafted around.
So anyway, after they pointed out they could smell something I had to pretend "Oh yeah wtf is that smell", a few moments passed and I went to the loo, I opened the window, ran the tap and got scrubbing, with my finger (index to be specific), I used hand soap to clean, I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned until it was red all around. I let it air dry and helped the process by fanning it with my hand. I stayed in the toilet a while longer constantly sniffing to make sure the smell was gone. I went back to the living room and acted like I'd just taken the world's longest 💩
Eventually, they found out, weeks after. We all met up again, and they could smell it, and I just admitted "Look guys, it's my belly button I try and stay on top of it". They turned it into this joke, and sometimes I laugh, cause things they say are funny, but a lot of the time deep down it hurts. Real bad.
Now at this point, you're probably wondering, what's the smell? What's up with her?
I think I have a belly button infection. Or something worse, I don't know, but it can get really bad. Since a kid, I've always washed and cleaned it every night, or every time I go to the toilet I'll quickly rub it with some tissue, which always leaves yellow liquid on it... I know, disgusting, I too feel sick at it.
This could be dangerous, but there have been times I've gone to the doctors and said I have a severe ear ache, or bad chest, pretty much anything that'll prescribe me antibiotics. The antibiotics usually work, for a few days and then boom, it's back and worse than ever!
I haven't gone to the doctors specifically about it, because I'm so humiliated by it. My mom tells me all the time -You need to go and get it checked and have it checked- but I have a fear of that as it is, so going to get it checked, and seeing someone about something that has affected me for so long, is so nerve-wracking. It could have gotten really bad by now, and then what? I have a million and 1 reasons I'm hesitant to go.
This is sort of a list of what it can be like TW AGAIN:
• Red & Itchy • Sore • Swollen • Lingering smell • Green/Yellow/Brown gunk, either leaking or shows when I'm cleaning it • Sometimes get shooting pains from my bellybutton to my privates, which hurts • Cramp-like feeling if I move in a certain position or too fast (not often) • Can get dry • Sometimes leaks through clothes, and I have to throw them out. • Weird pain when cleaning (I'll write about it)

- Boil water, let cool a little & mix salt into it.
- Get a handful of Cotton buds
- Get tissue
- Wet a flannel with warm water
- Put cotton buds inside and rub around (cotton buds cause some weird stabbing pain?)
- Once cotton buds become clear, wet tissue with salt water, put inside and rub around, until the smell isn't so bad.
- Ease the redness & Itchiness with a warm flannel
- Air dry.
Please if anyone has anything similar, or knows what this could be, tell me. I don't want to go to... you know where 🥲😢

I just got back the weirdest x ray of my sacrum with a “an interestingly, seemingly completely resorbed coccyx” (which is weird, because I fractured it in 2018??)
Anywho, tried to sum it up below.. (obviously failed wow)
Female, 30yo, 5’2 103lbs
History of coccyx fracture (‘18) and cervical spine surgery ‘23). Acute injury (without fall, while moving boxes) in Dec ‘24 showed bulges at l4-l5 and l5-s1, rupture at l4-l5 and moderate to severe stenosis at l5-s1. Recent diagnoses of ehlers danlos, pots, osteoarthritis, si joint disfunction, health anxiety, and (also) daily struggle with chronic pain. Historical diagnoses of high blood pressure, skin rashes / sensitivity, shingles in back of neck & aural migraines (‘19), PTSD, etc etc
Medications: Adderall 15mg 2x daily (debating stopping as I am p underweight) Gabapentin 600mg daily Botox for migraines every 3mo Heavy nightly medical marijuana user / sometimes dabbler in NyQuil (sleeping is really hard since Dec..) Methocarbamol 750mg as needed
Supplements: Vitamin C gummy’s, K2D3, NAC, Magnesium Glycinate, inositol, B complex
Do I just need to get strong and weigh more?! I am so tired of being in pain, I know I also need to change some things in my personal life that’ll contribute to me feeling better but I am just at a loss. And also maybe the answer is therapy (which I start next week) lol

Family matters troubled me, which I can't go into detail with but shit got very bad. I would wake up covered in blood. use whatever sharp object I could get my hands on. The itch became too much. Especially places I've never had eczema in my life, my ears became bad, even just rubbing them they stank and secreted blood/nasty liquid that would dry and become sticky.
Trying to sleep thorough hell, it spread to my whole body every spot of my exposed skin stinging, the worst was having to hype myself up to shower or even bath. The pain was too intense I'd have to bite my hand in order to prepare myself to even wash my face, neck, or head. After even shower, staring at the drain and seeing how much hair I lost was the most demeaning attack on my mental.
Nights I had to cover myself in vaseline because I cut myself too much again (even now my clothes are completely covered in vaseline and I cant get it out), the feeling was disgusting. Every day red skin and skin flakes all over my room needing to clean daily.
The worst feeling of all was making progress for only an hour later to completely stress out and fuck it all up an hour later, then I'm too cut open to shower due to the the pain.
I had nobody, completely numb for almost a year. I lost everything, my savings gone from paying for meds/monthly payments making me completely broke, my appearance, my body and weight. Days where I couldn't move my arms or move at all, I got bad, urinating in bottles, some days the most I ate was three pieces of bread with honey.
I avoided mirrors or even sunlight for the whole time because of how ashamed I was in my appearance, shaved my long hair just so I can apply medicine to my scalp. Only as of last week I've been able to go outside, slowly train again. But, just seeing myself now, my reflection, I don't recognise him. Eyebrows are almost completely faded, skins all scarred, but I am slowly slowly becoming me again, learning how to speak to people again and holding eye contact etc.

However I have all of the symptoms of PEM constantly they’re all just worse when I’ve overdone it by I guess moving too much in bed or talking too much which is crazy to me but I feel like I’m in almost constant PEM unless those are just the symptoms of the condition and I’m guessing my baseline is just severe since I have had a few days without flu like symptoms since I’ve become ill but generally feels like I have a bad flu daily and I wish it could get better :((

I’ve been using a gradual self tanning body lotion lately and I’ve JUST NOW made a revelation that it makes me so itchy! After years of using different brands and types of self tanner, I have always become super itchy and irritated (specifically on my legs) a few days after using it. I don’t get a visible rash or anything, just SO ITCHY.
I always thought it was just from shaving but after talking to my sister, she said she also gets super itchy from using self tanner. Im wondering if there is a specific ingredient in self tanners that does this?

“What are we looking for again?” Fallen asked Blue, they had been walking for several days now, resting every few hours due to Fallens severe injuries, which were unable to quickly heal due to his lack of food. Blue was keeping him alive but couldn’t just make protein from air.
“The spot you appeared when you got here, you don’t remember it but I do, I’ll tell you when we find it.”
“How long will that take? Chloe is probably worried.”
“Time works differently here, it's probably only been a day or two since we teleported from hell.”
“That's not an answer, Blue.”
A metallic sigh resonates through the armour “I don’t know, could be years, we have an entire moon to search.”
Fallens displeasure is visible on his face, features drawn tight. He pauses and tries, damn it he tries to remember. But nothing works, it's as if within his own mind there's a gigantic door made of pure adamantine and he’s not strong enough to break it down as a weak human… but maybe with Blue. The thought crosses his mind but he isn’t certain, nothing better to do than ask.
“Hey Blue?”
“Yes?”
“Maybe there is a way for me to remember, I’ve been trying, and I found a… door, in my mind. It's locked and there's no way I could ever break it as I am, but maybe with your help.”
“Fallen, I promised I would only link for combat, and even then its surface level, If I linked that deep I would see everything.”
“I think that's better than me disappearing for a hundred years, we just don’t tell Chloe.”
“No”
“Why?”There's a pause and the sound of an artificial breath “... You, you might get to see in my memories as well.”
“I promise I won't go peeking Blue.”
“That's not what I'm worried about, it would happen whether you wanted to or not and its just… I don’t know what that would do to your mind.”
“What do you mean?”
“Im… a lot older than you probably thought, I genuinely don’t know how having my full experiences would affect you, if it's too intense your brain might mistake it for its own experiences, making you essentially think you’re me. Also, I have a lot of very unpleasant memories.”
“I… I’m tough Blue, I’m sure I can handle it. If I kept my core self even with everything I’ve been through It’ll be fine.”
“If you break I am not telling Chloe, it’s better for her if we just vanish than to get you back physically but not mentally.”
“I’m tough remember? It’ll be fine.”
Another metallic sigh, and then he felt as if warm water was trickling around the inside of his head. In a moment he was floating in a sea of black, it took him a moment to realise he was in his own mind… wait no, I am my own mind then what is?
“It's me” He heard, but not with his ears, it was the same tone as Blue but without the metallic backing.
“How, what do you mean it's you?”
“The space around you, also, can you try and think of a wall on your random thoughts or something? You're basically mentally shouting everything you think.”
“Oh fu-” A pause of silence “Did that work?”
“Yes, now, are you feeling ok? No pain or discomfort or… not you?”
“I feel fine? Why?”
“That's… really strange, this should be causing you at least a major headache, but you’re fine.”
“Told you I'm tough.”
“If you can take this so easily you might be the toughest person alive… mentally, physically it's still me.”
“What about Al? Or the gods?”
“Pfft, just you wait till you see what I did back when I was actually trying… and at full power”
Then the blackness recedes, and is replaced with thousands, tens of thousands, then millions of moving flashing images, it takes him longer than he’d like to admit that he’s viewing memories, and he can only imagine that Blue is looking through his as well. Somehow he can view all of the memories at once, and understand them, it's as if there's a trillion of him all connected to the same core. The feeling is odd.
Once he pays full attention to the memories to try and pass the time he comes to a lot of realisations. The first one he sees is of Blue as a human woman, average height with red hair and green eyes and she’s looking in a mirror, saying something in a language he both does and doesn’t understand. Seconds later he’s looking through her eyes as she attempts test after test, all of which contain things far more advanced than he has seen before but Blue is failing. Over and over, eventually she gets deemed ‘defective’ and given one option, become a soldier. So she does, as the other option is ‘reprocessing’ which is just code for murder.
He watches her life as she becomes an extremely skilled soldier, the other humans with her seem… wrong though, all of them are more intelligent than anyone he knows, even Chloe, but they are all selfish and cruel. Someone in training falls from exhaustion and no one goes to help but Blue, when she does the wounded man looks at her with complete and utter confusion.
Her life snapshots forward to her in combat with the other soldiers, she wields a strange weapon which she simply points and pulls a button, causing a beam of black light to fire out and obliterate the creature she was aiming at, it looked like a dragonborn to Fallen, but more… Human. It had patches of skin rather than scales and was closer to the size of the average human. They were fighting with the weapons he was familiar with, sword and shield stood no chance against the humans’ weapons.
He watched as Blue worked her way through the ranks, eventually gaining the highest rank possible with her ‘deficiency’ due to her military skill and prowess. Eventually her luck ran out and she was wounded severely, a large slash to her midsection before she was blasted with a facefull of fire. After that everything went black.
She woke up feeling different, she was floating in a strange liquid and her wounds were still there, but she was somehow alive, she could feel tubes in her arm and down her throat. Looking down she saw something horrible, her legs were dissolving and then being replaced with a strange black skeletal structure, she then felt the pain. It burned like nothing Fallen had ever felt, and he’d felt a lot of pain in his life.
He watched the process as her whole body was melted and replaced with this material, the worst part was when her brain was somehow morphed into the crystal he knows of now. Then he felt them build her new body out of odd materials, adding her own old organs back in but shrunken, drained and modified into something else.
When it was finally over she wasn’t she anymore, she was it. A monster of their creation, the ultimate weapon, designed to point at gods and demons alike. Blue had no autonomy, they couldn’t even move themselves. He watched as an athletic man with cold calculating eyes entered Blue, the revulsion they felt having someone inside controlling them against their will. He watched as Blue fought with a strength he hadn’t seen before, he watched as they fought monsters that he couldn’t dream of fighting, mountains were shattered in single blows, planets were irreversibly damaged by sustained combat. He even saw Blue take damage a few times, when fighting that world's dragon god, they healed almost instantly though.
And then he saw the day they won, every god was dead, every demon slain, even the sentient embodiments of concepts had been slain and replaced with machines. Blue was still unable to do anything but comply, killing gods as if it were a chore by the end due to the skills retained and that they seemed to simply keep getting stronger.
Fallen had to take a moment to collect himself as he continued watching as Blue, having served their person, was promptly placed in a chamber and simply left for several thousand years. This time was enough for them to eventually find a flaw in their design that they abused and gained self control. Once done, they shattered their containment of adamantine and magic as if it were glass, and turned all that power on their former race.
It was a slaughter, they had created Blue to be unbeatable, indestructible, unable to escape, avoid, or defend against… and they had succeeded. Blue killed trillions, as by this point they had taken over every planet in their universe by force. Eventually there was nothing left, and Blue found the moon he was currently on, locked outside of the effects of time, and simply watched the universe burn out.
Then a new universe was born… and then it died, and again, and again, and again. Nothing changed as Blue did wander on occasion to stop the eternal boredom and solitude, but he truly wouldn't wish that pain on his worst enemy. Eventually something did change, at a location he made very clear mental notes of a rip in space itself appeared, and out tumbled… him. It was himself but he looked different, less muscular, more scholarly as he immediately cast magic to protect himself from the vacuum of space. Fallen was a little embarrassed at how easily Blue had stalked him without him realising. Then he witnessed his and Blue’s meeting from Blue’s end, before witnessing his entire life as far as he could remember from Blue’s perspective.
“I really come close to dying a lot huh?”
“Far too often, yes, medically you actually did die a few times.”
“Oh, shit, we can still talk during this? Well I found what we’re looking for, how's things on your end?”
“I… I have seen fragments of your past, whoever shattered your memory was thorough, it doesn’t even seem like they targeted any memories other than one, and it was so severe they all were affected.”
“What was the memory they targeted?”
“I can’t see it, it's locked behind something I couldn’t even break in my prime… which is terrifying.”
“I know, you really were strong back then. Why can’t you do any of that now?”
“Not enough power, as you know I run on a specialised system that uses emotion, I was powered by my entire species through implants in their heads back then, now it's just you.”
“Ah, could we-”“No, I had to completely alter my powercore in order to form the symbiotic link with you so you wouldn’t age. It still locked me out of control of myself until Chloe fixed it, but I’m not smart enough to alter it again without risking my death, and by extension yours.”
“Ah, sorry I'm not… sustaining enough?”
“Don’t apologise, you’re already somehow more productive than a million of my original people, perhaps it’s because you can feel more than them due to their lack of empathy or compassion.”
“So I have a question, why when that other guy wore you did he never get hurt?”
“There are two main reasons, the first is he was extensively augmented, his durability was likely similar to Alzoreth, and the second is I have systems to protect my user from self harm, but they take more power than we produce now.”
“Is there a way for me to produce more power?”
There's a long pause, Blue is clearly hesitant on this. “Yes, but we aren’t doing it unless it’s life and death.”
“Why?”
“The process where I produce power is, in essence, me taking your emotions, using them in a complex system even I don’t understand, and then putting them back. It happens autonomously and is so quick neither of us can actually comprehend it. However, If I chose to not give those emotions back it would probably multiply the power created by a factor of ten. But during this time you would be emotionless, so we don’t do it unless there's literally no other option.”
“Agreed, let's see it then.”
Fallen and Blue continue their walk, Fallen moving one leg and Blue the other as they approach the location Fallen arrived. The walk takes several days with a rest every few hours for the sake of Fallens health, Blue suggests they rest longer each time but Fallen refuses.
Once they reach the arrival point it is rather obvious, there is a strange distortion in the air where Fallen arrived. It seems… wrong, and Blue is unable to perceive it.
“You’re telling me you don’t see that?!” Fallen exclaims as they near, with Blue adamantly stating nothing is there.
“There's nothing there to see! I have sensors that detect things completely imperceptible, but there's nothing there… wait.” They pause for a few seconds and halt all movement. “There's nothing there, I mean no light, no sound, no heat, no energy… just nothing. That's impossible!”
“I can see something, it's like the air… blurs a bit, it hurts to look at.”
“How much pain?”
“A seven” which is horrifying considering Fallen considers his mangled arm and leg to be a three.
“Shit… so what are we going to do about it?”
“Touch it.”
“Are you crazy?”
“Probably”

Fallen and Blue continue their walk, Fallen moving one leg and Blue the other as they approach the location Fallen arrived. The walk takes several days with a rest every few hours for the sake of Fallens health, Blue suggests they rest longer each time but Fallen refuses.
Once they reach the arrival point it is rather obvious, there is a strange distortion in the air where Fallen arrived. It seems… wrong, and Blue is unable to perceive it.
“You’re telling me you don’t see that?!” Fallen exclaims as they near, with Blue adamantly stating nothing is there.
“There's nothing there to see! I have sensors that detect things completely imperceptible, but there's nothing there… wait.” They pause for a few seconds and halt all movement. “There's nothing there, I mean no light, no sound, no heat, no energy… just nothing. That's impossible!”
“I can see something, it's like the air… blurs a bit, it hurts to look at.”
“How much pain?”
“A seven” which is horrifying considering Fallen considers his mangled arm and leg to be a three.
“Shit… so what are we going to do about it?”
“Touch it.”
“Are you crazy?”
“Probably”
Then everything went black for Fallen, as Blue finds themselves suddenly empty, Fallen having reached out and touched the anomaly.
“Fallen?! FALLEN!!!”

Prince Ezekiel looked in the mirror examining his suit, wishing that he would be struck down. His hopeful thinking was interrupted by pounding on his door.
“Master, I’m coming in. If you’re not ready for the wedding I swear to the gods that I will-” Ezekiel didn’t even let the voice finish before jumping up and quickly putting on black pants and a regal purple coat, and finishing it off with a white bow.
“Ok! I’m dressed.” Ezekiel said nervously, chittering his teeth as he watched his maid come in. She examined him carefully before hugging him.
“Oh your majesty, you look handsome. Your bride will be so happy! This will be great.” He teared up a bit and looked into his maid’s eyes
“I don’t want to get married. I don’t even know what she looks like! Why can’t father be the one getting married to her?” His maid kissed his forehead and rubbed his back.
“Ezekiel, your father needs peace with the trolls. I know it’s hard but this marriage is a symbol of bond between our kingdoms. The princess asked for our prince. She’s probably just as nervous as you.” Ezekiel took a deep breath and nodded to his maid.
She lead him through the corridors and into the royal hall. It was filled with humans and trolls with all eyes falling on him. The troll king and his father both watched him step in front of the altar. “Welcome, boy.” His father whispered whilst shaking Ezekiel’s hand.
The troll king grabbed Ezekiel’s head and pressed their foreheads together. “I am glad you will be family. Your father speaks of your kind heart.” Ezekiel nods and thanks them both, trying to calm his nerves.
A drum beat echoed through the royal hall as Trolls bowed down, paying respect to their princess. Her skin was as blue as sapphires, and two small tusks protruded from her mouth as she smiled. Ezekiel was taken aback for her beauty, her emerald eyes pierced through him. She looked like a dream he would never want to wake up from. All he could mutter was three words.
“Am I……Dreaming?” Ezekiel heard chuckling behind him as his father softly slapped his shoulder. He realized he was staring, quickly bowing to the princess. She took his hands in her own. Her strength surprised Ezekiel.
“I am Thakita. You must be my husband.” She said softly, smiling at him with a light blush. Ezekiel locked eyes with her again, he slowly realized that she was taller than him now that they stood together.
“I’m Ezekiel. I must admit, I didn’t want to be here. I was scared. But seeing you, I’m glad I came.” Thakita’s ears twitch as he says that, her blush deepening.
“As am I, darling.”
The troll behind the altar spoke in a gravelly tone “We come here today to welcome Britannia into our nation, and its people to our family. With this marriage we join together in a new age of allegiance and peace. We welcome Prince Ezekiel into our lineage and let Princess Thakita into theirs. Let them join together now, as husband and bride.”
Ezekiel cupped Thakita’s face and whispered “may I?”
“You may.” Thakita said with a smile.
Ezekiel leaned upwards and kissed her, causing applause to flood the room.

2024.05.17 05:58 JJ2161 What I wish the "Gods Arc" in Legacies could've been like (kind of a fanfic idea).
So, first some context. For a long time, I have always thought about what it would be like to have a story about vampires in which the antagonist is the god of the sun. I think the first time I thought about it was when watching Blade when I was little. In this film, the main villain, Deacon Frost, wanted to awaken the Blood God La Magra, who was said to be the God of Vampires. In Blade Trinity, the first vampire was often refered to as the Vampire God, if I'm not wrong. So, I always thought how obvious it was and yet why no one ever wrote anything similar. There are even a feel stories with vampires involving gods or mentioning them, like Castlevania Nocturne, but I've never seen a mention of a sun god in vampire-related media.
Added to all that, I started thinking about having a story with a moon god related to werewolves. Now, this is not common at all in offical media, but fanfic and overall amateur original fiction that deal with the werewolf genre does mention lunar deities quite often. Most of the times, the moon god is presented as simply part of werewolf culture and beliefs, but not necessarily real, and sometimes even as real, but not a very present force.
Then I was told Legacies were introducing gods and I got excited.
Now, I have to be honest with you. I kinda hated Legacies. Don't get me wrong. I love the idea of it, and I love many of the characters. But, damn, this show was a mess. So bad. I hated the idea of Mallivore. I liked the idea of a past in which other supernatural beings existed, but they handled it in a way that made Supernatural and even my beloved, yet very weird show, SyFy's The Magicians look mature in comparison. Like, the way it handled magic in the TVD universe broke me (what basically amounted to becoming invisible being the flashiest thing you can do with magic became Winx-level "shooting magic beams at each other"). And the way it handled gods in the TVD universe was so frustrating.
First, Ken's armor looked wackier than Thor Love and Thunder. For real. Then the whole "the gods were afraid of Mallivore" thing. Nah, pass. One thing I actually expected them to do (because I had been thinking about it for ages), but they didn't, was to break our expectations and make the gods actually immortal. Now, not every god in every culture is immortal, but many are, and TVD had already nailed in our heads the notion that "nothing completely immortal can exist" for so long that I thought it would be a great subversion. But no.
Anyway, I was thinking about how gods could be handled in the TVD universe and I started writing some ideas and I came up with something, maybe I'll write a fanfic or something. First of all, I would have the story be more spread out. It would focus on many settings. In this case, Mystic Falls with the TVD cast, New Orleans with The Originals cast, and the Salvatore School with the Legacies cast. Most of the canon would follow, but somethings would be different. For instance, Klaus and Elijah are not dead, in their family, only Finn is not among us anymore. From Legacies, I would salvage only the setting and most of the characters, but they would follow completely different paths. The story will jump characters between three main settings, Mystic Falls, New Orleans, and the Salvatore School. Each will live their lives and uncover mysteries separately, which will gradually mix together (think Stranger Things).

So, the story would start in New Orleans. Haley (who is alive), would be investigating something weird that is happening with the werewolf packs of the Southern US. Many are fleeing, others are expanding, and odd alliances are being formed. Among all that, she finds that many packs started following and revering a mysterious leader that most only know as The Lady of the Night, or just The Lady. She finds that those werewolves have somehow developed the ability to stay in human form during the full moon and retain their physical prowess without needing to wear a moonlight ring. In Mystic Falls, a gang of witches have established themselves in the town and started coersing the local witches to join and hunting the local vampires, and the TVD cast has to investigate. All they know is that they are led by a someone refered to as Lightbringer (Sorry, that is the one setting among the three that I haven't thought much about). In Legacies, the cast finds a teenage boy like them that have been chased by werewolves all the way from somewhere in the South. Initially, they think he is Human, but they see the guy kill a few wolves with his bare hands before collapsing. They bring him to the school and find out that, not only is he amnesiac, but he only remembers his life up to a year before, when he was found and put in the foster system and was given a new name by the state, Malek. They don't know what he is and a good portion of his arc would be they trying to find out (he would take Landon's place in the story).

As you may have realized, these new characters are gods. So, I actually like Legacies' idea of not tying the gods to any specific culture (like having the literal Greek gods or many patheons and stuff). Instead they implied that all those cultures' beliefs, or at least a lot of them, were inspired by this one family of real gods.
In my story, this is basically what happened. There is the real gods and then there is the things that people all over the world believed, which often was based on a limited understanding of the real gods or a cultural memory of then mixed in with made-up stuff that developed over time. One example of this is the "Storm God vs Serpent" archetype, which I will talk about later.
Anyway, the gods in this version will be loosely based on our reconstructed understanding of the Proto-Indo-European religion that gave origin to the Greek, Slavic, Celtic, and Norse gods among other in Europe, and the Persian and Vedic gods in Asia. But there will also be tie-ins with Mesoamerica, Africa, Japan, etc.
The main antagonists of the first phase are two individuals known as The Twins. Elio (Lightbringer) and Selina (The Lady). They are actually the twin gods of the Sun and the Moon, who woke up from a centuries-long slumber to wake the rest of their their family.
Selina has the power to bend werewolves to her will, though it is easier for hybrids to resist. Though Selina has nothing to do with werewolves' creation, as they were created by Inadu (The Hollow) in America half a millennium after she was put to sleep, she still has power over them, being the personification of the Moon. That is because Inadu's curse made them "slaves to the moon", which she did not know would tie them to Selina herself. Selina has the power of forcible truning a wolf to torture them when in her presence, as well as preventing them from doing so in the full moon. She uses that as a control mechanism for her followers, torturing them with untimely shifting or rewarding them with the ability to resist shifting during the full moon.
Elio, on the other hand, is being slowly revealed in Mystic Falls, where they first hear of the Twins. Unlike his sister, who has power and influence over werewolves, Elio has no power over vampires. Instead, he is only very dangerous to them. Elio has the power to have vampires feel the effects of being under the sun when in his presence, even if they are wearing a daylight ring. He can make them feel mild discomfort, make their skin blister, or even have them spontaneously combust to death in his presence. His very presence is also all the way from unsetlling to irrationally terrifying to vampires and hybrids. Unlike Selina, who is being literraly worshipped by the werewolves, Elio is pretending to be a very powerful witch and will not be discovered to be the sun god until later.
Finally, we have Malek. Because he is initially not as powerful as The Twins are portrayed to be, we would think he is a demigod or something else. Eventually, it will be revealed that he is actually the archetypical storm god, with powers related to lightning, thurder and the weather, like Thor or Zeus or Indra (but he is not the archetypical Sky Father, which was often mixed with the Storm God in subsequent religions, like with Zeus). He was the first one of the gods to be woken up, but the process was done wrong, and it hurt him, left him weaker.
The gods are a family of supernatural beings with power over nature and abstract concepts, representing many archetypical aspects of more imediately identifiable with the Proto-Indo European religion. They are both magical and the source of magic, and they have been living since at least 10,000 BC. They do not follow the exact canon of a specific religion, but some aspects of their lives may have been remembered as specific stories in many different cultures. Elio and Selina are both Helios and Selene, as well as Apollo and Artemis, Ra and Khonsu, and many other aspects. The family is formed by the Sky Father, the Earth Mother, and all their sons and daughters. These are the greater gods, but there are also a number of minor gods that descend from the core family.
The gods are immortal, as in completely indestructible. Nature's "no immortality" rule doesn't apply to them because they are the ones who created that rule in the first place (which forced any attempt of recreating the gods' immortality with magic always ending in a halfway success at best). It will take time for the main cast to come to terms with this fact and understand that they can't kill the gods, just put them back to sleep. Even in their sleep, the gods were somewhat conscious. It will be revealed that Malek, being one of the gods that loved Humanity the most, was the one who put his siblings to sleep (his parents, the Sky and the Earth, are more metaphysical and don't interfere much, as they exist in a more immaterial state). The gods were in the brink of war among each other about 2000 years ago, and a war of the gods would be extremely harmful to Humanity. Small skirmishes among them had caused civilization-ending catastrophes before, such as the Bronze Age Collapse, the Middle Eastern Deluge, and an earlier small war had been fought in India millennia before, giving origin of Indian myths of basically "nuclear"-level wars between the gods in the past.
So, to prevent this from happening, Malek enlisted the assistance of Alyta, the Goddess of the Dead, and Fae, the Smith Goddess of Fire, to put his family to sleep. A lot of his character arc will be his conflict between his old family and his new family at the Salvatore School. Elio and Selina want to find him because he is the only one who knows where the other gods are being kept (well, he doesn't for a while, due to his memory loss). Alyta is a mix of Hades, Persephone, Osiris, Thanatos, and other death-related gods. She helped Malek because she knew a war of the gods would be a pain for her. She rules over the Land of the Dead, a realm that encompasses Limbo, The Bright World (Peace), and from which small artificial realms such as Qetsyah's Other Side, Cade's Hell, and the Ancestral Plane were temporarily carved out (alowed by her). Furthermore, she never leaves completely (though she does harvest the souls of the living) and is the only god that was not put to sleep and was active for all thistime.
Now, a lot of the first portion of the story would follow Elio and Selina's machinations and Malek's new life. The Twins want to bring their family back and take back ruleship of the world. For that they want to find Malek, and they (and presumably the other gods still sleeping) are pissed at him. However, there is also disagreement among The Twins. Their family is just as disfunctional as The Originals, and the only thing that used to keep The Twins specifically from jumping at their throats was their little sister, Rory, Goddess of the Dawn. But she is sleeping, and though they made this alliance to release the others, they are gradually losing patience with one another. Other gods that could be mentioned or would appear are a Smith Goddess of Fire (Fae), a God of Beauty and Love (Deon), a God of War (Martino), a Goddess of the Sea (Yara), a God of Time, a Goddess of Agriculture...
Finally, by the last third of the story, the final enemy would be revealed, a being that even the gods fear. The Great Old One. It is the archetypical "serpent" or "monster", a lovecraftian horror and the monstrous firstborn child of the Sky and the Earth. It was defeated by Malek over ten-thousand years ago. However, being of the same nature of the gods and, thus, immortal, Malek could not kill it, only chain it beneath the earth. This battle was felt all over the world and gave origin to many myths. The archetype of the storm god vs the serpent would become the myth of Zeus and Typhon and Apollo and Python in Greece, of Indra and Vritra in India, of Thor in Jormungandr in Scandinavia, and of Susanoo and Yamata-no-Orochi in Japan, for instance. Before their battle, the monster kidnapped the moon (Selina) and tried to eat the sun (Elio), giving origin to myths like Apophis trying to eat Ra in Egypt, or Yamata-no-Orochi kidnapping a princess in Japan. After their first battle, monster tried to rule Mesoamerica, were it ruled as a bloody god that gave origin to the archetype of the Feathered Serpent god and introduced human sacrifice to saciate its hunger for blood. Its defeat was remembered in Mesopotamia as the gods defeating Tiamat, or as the killing of Ymir in Scandinavia.
Bascically, it is a lovecraftian god of chaos of immense power and unsatiable hunger. Malek's battle with it was so traumatic to him, that even in his amnesiac state he displayed a phobia of serpents and snake-like lizards. This being is the one that, after millennia unwatched, managed to free up a part of its essence from its prison and attack Malek in his sleep, which led to him being awoken and severely weakened for a long while. After the other gods realize that it is slowly breaking away from its chains, it becomes a race against time to put it back to its cage, with gods, vampires, witches, and werewolves working together to do so.

Added to all that, I started thinking about having a story with a moon god related to werewolves. Now, this is not common at all in offical media, but fanfic and overall amateur original fiction that deal with the werewolf genre does mention lunar deities quite often. Most of the times, the moon god is presented as simply part of werewolf culture and beliefs, but not necessarily real, and sometimes even as real, but not a very present force.
Then I was told Legacies were introducing gods and I got excited.
Now, I have to be honest with you. I kinda hated Legacies. Don't get me wrong. I love the idea of it, and I love many of the characters. But, damn, this show was a mess. So bad. I hated the idea of Mallivore. I liked the idea of a past in which other supernatural beings existed, but they handled it in a way that made Supernatural and even my beloved, yet very weird show, SyFy's The Magicians look mature in comparison. Like, the way it handled magic in the TVD universe broke me (what basically amounted to becoming invisible being the flashiest thing you can do with magic became Winx-level "shooting magic beams at each other"). And the way it handled gods in the TVD universe was so frustrating.
First, Ken's armor looked wackier than Thor Love and Thunder. For real. Then the whole "the gods were afraid of Mallivore" thing. Nah, pass. One thing I actually expected them to do (because I had been thinking about it for ages), but they didn't, was to break our expectations and make the gods actually immortal. Now, not every god in every culture is immortal, but many are, and TVD had already nailed in our heads the notion that "nothing completely immortal can exist" for so long that I thought it would be a great subversion. But no.
Anyway, I was thinking about how gods could be handled in the TVD universe and I started writing some ideas and I came up with something, maybe I'll write a fanfic or something. First of all, I would have the story be more spread out. It would focus on many settings. In this case, Mystic Falls with the TVD cast, New Orleans with The Originals cast, and the Salvatore School with the Legacies cast. Most of the canon would follow, but somethings would be different. For instance, Klaus and Elijah are not dead, in their family, only Finn is not among us anymore. From Legacies, I would salvage only the setting and most of the characters, but they would follow completely different paths. The story will jump characters between three main settings, Mystic Falls, New Orleans, and the Salvatore School. Each will live their lives and uncover mysteries separately, which will gradually mix together (think Stranger Things).

So, the story would start in New Orleans. Haley (who is alive), would be investigating something weird that is happening with the werewolf packs of the Southern US. Many are fleeing, others are expanding, and odd alliances are being formed. Among all that, she finds that many packs started following and revering a mysterious leader that most only know as The Lady of the Night, or just The Lady. She finds that those werewolves have somehow developed the ability to stay in human form during the full moon and retain their physical prowess without needing to wear a moonlight ring. In Mystic Falls, a gang of witches have established themselves in the town and started coersing the local witches to join and hunting the local vampires, and the TVD cast has to investigate. All they know is that they are led by a someone refered to as Lightbringer (Sorry, that is the one setting among the three that I haven't thought much about). In Legacies, the cast finds a teenage boy like them that have been chased by werewolves all the way from somewhere in the South. Initially, they think he is Human, but they see the guy kill a few wolves with his bare hands before collapsing. They bring him to the school and find out that, not only is he amnesiac, but he only remembers his life up to a year before, when he was found and put in the foster system and was given a new name by the state, Malek. They don't know what he is and a good portion of his arc would be they trying to find out (he would take Landon's place in the story).

As you may have realized, these new characters are gods. So, I actually like Legacies' idea of not tying the gods to any specific culture (like having the literal Greek gods or many patheons and stuff). Instead they implied that all those cultures' beliefs, or at least a lot of them, were inspired by this one family of real gods.
In my story, this is basically what happened. There is the real gods and then there is the things that people all over the world believed, which often was based on a limited understanding of the real gods or a cultural memory of then mixed in with made-up stuff that developed over time. One example of this is the "Storm God vs Serpent" archetype, which I will talk about later.
Anyway, the gods in this version will be loosely based on our reconstructed understanding of the Proto-Indo-European religion that gave origin to the Greek, Slavic, Celtic, and Norse gods among other in Europe, and the Persian and Vedic gods in Asia. But there will also be tie-ins with Mesoamerica, Africa, Japan, etc.
The main antagonists of the first phase are two individuals known as The Twins. Elio (Lightbringer) and Selina (The Lady). They are actually the twin gods of the Sun and the Moon, who woke up from a centuries-long slumber to wake the rest of their their family.
Selina has the power to bend werewolves to her will, though it is easier for hybrids to resist. Though Selina has nothing to do with werewolves' creation, as they were created by Inadu (The Hollow) in America half a millennium after she was put to sleep, she still has power over them, being the personification of the Moon. That is because Inadu's curse made them "slaves to the moon", which she did not know would tie them to Selina herself. Selina has the power of forcible truning a wolf to torture them when in her presence, as well as preventing them from doing so in the full moon. She uses that as a control mechanism for her followers, torturing them with untimely shifting or rewarding them with the ability to resist shifting during the full moon.
Elio, on the other hand, is being slowly revealed in Mystic Falls, where they first hear of the Twins. Unlike his sister, who has power and influence over werewolves, Elio has no power over vampires. Instead, he is only very dangerous to them. Elio has the power to have vampires feel the effects of being under the sun when in his presence, even if they are wearing a daylight ring. He can make them feel mild discomfort, make their skin blister, or even have them spontaneously combust to death in his presence. His very presence is also all the way from unsetlling to irrationally terrifying to vampires and hybrids. Unlike Selina, who is being literraly worshipped by the werewolves, Elio is pretending to be a very powerful witch and will not be discovered to be the sun god until later.
Finally, we have Malek. Because he is initially not as powerful as The Twins are portrayed to be, we would think he is a demigod or something else. Eventually, it will be revealed that he is actually the archetypical storm god, with powers related to lightning, thurder and the weather, like Thor or Zeus or Indra (but he is not the archetypical Sky Father, which was often mixed with the Storm God in subsequent religions, like with Zeus). He was the first one of the gods to be woken up, but the process was done wrong, and it hurt him, left him weaker.

Anyone else experiencing the same? It started around week 5 (first dose at 5.0), and 4 weeks later this is still occurring. I was exploring so many other options as to why this is occurring, but now I’m thinking it’s Zepbound based on timelines.
Yes, I have spoken with my PCP about this. He thinks it’s a reaction to something else. Going to ask my dermatologist and allergist next.

 | We have a cat in our neighborhood that is in horribly rough shape. He has a deep injury behind his ear that seems like it won’t heal, issues with his back left paw leading to limping, and a range of other skin issues including fleas that lead to his fur coming off in tufts. submitted by uiucsuckit to catcare [link] [comments] He’s been around for a while and I’ve fed him and sat with him so much that we have a lot of trust to the point that he lets me pet him (with gloves, as he has visible skin infections that I don’t want to risk spreading to my two furballs), so I know I’d be able to get him to a vet if that’s what’s recommended here. My main concern is, cost of the vet & will they just put him down? He’s not fixed and has so many issues I’m terrified they’ll just put him down and that would destroy me, because while he’s obviously hurting, he doesn’t seem too sad. Purrs when I pet him and has cute little meows. Any help is appreciated. |
