2024.05.03 03:32 kelliroberts Making Money as an Adult Influencer

Adult content creators are influencers too and sometimes that means we can make money by promoting something for someone. đź’°
Influencer marketing has become an integral part of brand advertising strategies. However, with great reach comes great responsibility. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) mandates clear disclosure of sponsored content on social media to maintain transparency and trust. Failure to comply can lead to significant legal consequences.
Understanding FTC Guidelines The FTC requires that any material connection between an influencer and a brand (whether it's a monetary payment, free products, or any form of compensation) must be clearly disclosed to the audience. This transparency helps consumers make informed decisions about the products they see endorsed.
How to Disclose Sponsorships Disclosures should be unambiguous and noticeable. Simple hashtags like #sponsored or #ad are often sufficient, but they must be easy to find and understand. Placing these hashtags at the beginning of a post or in a prominent position is recommended to ensure they are not overlooked by viewers.
High-Profile Cases and Enforcement The FTC actively monitors compliance and has taken action against prominent figures, including celebrities like Kim Kardashian, for inadequate disclosure. These high-profile cases serve as a reminder that no one is above the law and the importance of adhering to regulatory requirements cannot be understated.
Whether you are a global celebrity or a micro-influencer, the rules are clear: If you are compensated to promote a product or service, you must disclose this relationship. This not only complies with the law but also fosters a sense of honesty and loyalty among followers. Always remember, transparency is key in maintaining the trust that bridges influencers and their audiences.
Don't think just because you are an adult content creator doesn't mean you won't get caught because people as famous as Kim Kardashian are the only ones who have been busted -- Kendra Lust and Lana Rhoades are just two names that come to mind who have been nailed.
So remember, if someone pays you to promote something online, you have to let people know, even if it's just by using a simple hashtag like #sponsored or #ad. This isn't just for Instagram and Twitter. This applies to OnlyFans as well.

2024.05.03 03:27 wevegotthelove 33 [M4F] BC Canada/Anywhere - Looking to talk to someone with something in common

https://voca.ro/1ShbPHVjjoF9 - Voice clip
I've been a nerd since I can remember and never felt like I quite fit in. I played sports, I watched anime, I played computer games, table top games and I still do. I struggled with my mental health growing up and am happy to say I'm in a good place now. I live in a beautiful city and I don't have any toxic people in my life. Turns out when you do that you're not left with many people, including a family which I am at peace with. I struggle to connect with people who haven't had to overcome their own demons, or I have nothing in common with.
I have a good career and I think I'm about to shake it up with the experience I now have under my belt. Moving out of Canada might be in the cards. I have too many hobbies/interests. some I've already alluded to, but others include boxing (doing), mma (watching), singing, building/painting models (Something I've gotten back into lately) and competitive card games (I just got back from tournaments in LA, Ottawa and Vancouver). My PC games of choice lately are League, TFT and Pokemon Showdown if that counts.
What are we supposed to write in these posts? I feel like I'm barely scratching the surface of who I am. I try to stay relatively active with a personal trainer I see 2-3 times a week but my chaotic mind and inner fat kid keep me with what I can only describe as a "healthy" dadbod with muscles. Food is my vice and I love going out to eat or pounding back dairy-free ice cream. l wear glasses, don't have wrinkles and rock a ghostly pale skin tone. I have a minor sun allergy so I tend to avoid it. I embrace the vampire meming people in my life throw at me, many Twilight references have been made at my expense.

2024.05.03 03:24 ManeatingRaptora Circle of Sports Homebrew

Posted this on Tumblr earlier, thought I'd put it here too. Have been wanting to whip this up since the episode two weeks ago. I love the circle of sports. Used the circle of stars as a base, even though circle of spores is the more obvious typo lol. Enjoy!

Druid: Circle of Sports

Since the first being aspired to test their might, hone their skill, and chase the thrill of victory, the magic of sports has shaped the planes.
None understand this better than the druids of the Circle of Sports, students of the Plane of Sports. These druids have balled since time immemorial, dunking with primordials and discovering lost secrets in the ancient temples of gains. By honoring sportsmanship, competition, and the purity of the big man taking the rock all the way to the points hole, the Circle of Sports pursue teamwork, self-betterment, and a dynamic universe full of excitement and challenge.
Many druids of this circle keep records of the Great Games of the world, feats of strength and sportsmanship that ring forever in the legendary Hall of Fame at the heart of the Plane of Sports. They contend these records hold the spirits of those who came before, and can serve as markers, clues, and guides to what is possible. Shrines, gyms, trophies, trading cards, or artifacts signed by heroes long passed are both defended and sought after by these sages, as well as by scoundrels and adventurers alike. Other druids seek to place their own names in the Hall of Fame and pave the way for heroes yet to come.

Sports Trance

At 2nd level, you can enter a sports trance, retreating your consciousness to the sequestered Plane of Sports. While in this trance your body becomes a Tiny sports-related object of your choice, with resistance to all damage, that can be used as a simple melee weapon that deals 1d8 bludgeoning damage and has the finesse, light, and thrown properties (range 20/60).
While in this state you are unconscious, but can be roused as if from sleep, ending the trance. You can complete a long rest in 4 hours if you spend those hours in this trance. Whenever you finish a sports trance, you gain proficiency in Athletics, and your proficiency bonus is doubled for any check made using that skill. These benefits last until your next sports trance.

Circle Spells

When you join this circle at 2nd level, your link with the Plane of Sports grants you access to some spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Circle of Sports Spells table.
Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn't appear on the Druid Spell List, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.
Druid Level Spells
2nd Compelled Duel, Catapult
3rd Kinetic Jaunt, Spiritual Weapon
5th Motivational Speech, Haste
7th Freedom of Movement, Staggering Smite
9th Conjure Volley, Greater Restoration

Sports Form

At 2nd level, you gain the ability to harness the power of sports to alter your form. As a bonus action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape feature to take on a sports form, rather than transforming into a beast. Changing into a sports form ends any other active Wild Shapes.
While in your sports form, your clothes take on the appearance of appropriate sports attire, and appropriate sports-themed music plays. The form lasts for 10 minutes. It ends early if you dismiss it (no action required), are incapacitated, die, or use this feature again.
Whenever you assume your sports form, choose which of the following styles you embody; your choice gives you certain benefits while in the form:
Fastball. A series of sports-themed balls and projectiles appear in orbit around you. When you activate this style, and as a bonus action on your subsequent turns while it lasts, you can make a ranged spell attack, hurling a ball or other projectile that targets one creature within 60 feet of you. On a hit, the attack deals bludgeoning damage equal to 1d8 + your Wisdom modifier.
Nike. An incredible set of appropriate sports footwear appears on your feet. While in this style your walking speed increases by 15 feet. You gain a swimming and climbing speed of 30 feet. If you already have a swim and climb speed, you can instead increase that speed by 15 feet. When you jump, you may add twice your proficiency bonus in feet to the distance in any direction.
Roughhouse. Your muscles bulge and glisten with sparkling oil. In this style you can add your Wisdom bonus to Strength checks, Strength saving throws, and Constitution saving throws to maintain concentration. While this style is active you can make a grapple or shove attack as a bonus action.

Rally the Team

When you reach 6th level, you learn to channel the power of sports to your allies. As a bonus action, all creatures you choose within 30 feet gain 1d8 temporary hit points or may immediately roll a save to end any continuous negative effect that could normally be negated with a successful saving throw. They must be able to hear or see you to gain this benefit.
You cannot use this ability again until you finish a short rest.

Welcome to the Jam

At 10th level, the styles of your Sports Form improve. The 1d8 of Fastball becomes 2d8. While Nike is active all opportunity attacks have disadvantage against you. While Roughhouse is active you can grapple or push creatures of any size without penalty.
Moreover, at the start of each of your turns while in your Sports Form, you can change which style you embody.

Hall of Fame

At 14th level, your connection to the plane of sports has become something of legend. While in your Sports Form, this legacy grants you a kind of immortality, giving you resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

2024.05.03 03:24 No-Fig-5242 I just got into a car accident with no Insurance. AMA

I'm here to see what options you guys think I have and to answer any questions. I'm not the type of person that rides around with no insurance. It was an honest mistake. My bill was set to auto pay and because I got a new debit card they couldn't collect the payment. I got a few emails alerting me of my lapse and they said that the new total was around 700 for 6 months. I sent in 300 in thinking it was enough to start my insurance plan again. ( Ive done this before with other insurance companies) All emails stopped after that. A month later I get into an accident and I'm at fault. I call the insurance company to report the accident and they say it's still not active. I later learned the returned to 300 bucks. Apparently you have to pay 75 percent. I paid 160 the day of the accident to reinstate it.

2024.05.03 03:08 BuildingIndividual40 2.1, 2.2 and 3.0

According to the last earnings call, we should have seen 2.1 in March, 2.2 in April, and 3.0 in May.
2.1 included Alexa, OTA schedule, and center screen improvements.
2.2 included memory seats, general calibration refinements, and the UK time zone fix.
3.0 one-pedal driving, torque vectoring, further ESP refinements, new exterior sounds, hill descent control, and ADAS performance improvements and features, including active cruise control.
Some people, myself included, have been told by a service technician that 2.1 will soon be released.
There was no mention of a key card or phone as a key. Has anyone heard anything about that?
There are also rumors of the possibility of buying a new remote for ~$700.
Am I missing anything? What else have you heard?

2024.05.03 03:03 Archimediator My current companies work/life balance is not great?

I work in IT for a very small consulting business. There’s only 5 of us, including the owner. The owner regularly logs on at 3AM and sends messages and everyone on the team actively responds to his Teams messages late at night, 9 or 10PM if he starts messaging then. I have at times also done so because it will be a group chat and if I don’t reply, I’m the only one not responding. He was also at a conference abroad last week but was online working every single day until 1-3AM his time. I don’t think that’s a healthy precedent to set for our workplace.
This is not some Silicon Valley startup relying on venture capital, we’re just a small consulting business. So I don’t think we absolutely need to be burning the midnight oil here.
I’m also a part timer, which was intentional. I only applied to part time jobs because I wanted a break from full time.
I have a set schedule and my supervisor is constantly telling me I’ll be coming in the next day, on my day off, when I never agreed to that. Not asking, telling.
If there’s a fire to put out when I’m off, he’ll message me to resolve it when we don’t have an official agreement for me to be on call. And obviously I would expect some compensation for being on call, even if an emergency doesn’t happen and I don’t think that’s in the cards or that he’s even aware that should be the case.
Plus, his clients flip their lids when I sign off for the day because it’s usually before 5. They’ll reach out with an issue after I’ve clocked out and I don’t always see it and they get pissed that I didn’t immediately reply.
I actually like this job overall believe it or not and I have set some boundaries with my supervisor when necessary. But I’m being hard on myself about it like I’m not being enough of a “go getter” and also worrying I’m going to seem uncommitted or lazy. But I’m 31 and I’m tired. I’ve been in industry for a while and need a break. I didn’t sign on for full time so it bothers me that that’s slowly becoming the expectation.

2024.05.03 03:00 Hsthokie Return Policy for Transit Cards

I bought two ORCA transit cards (Seattle area mass transit) and had Safeway add $10 of travel to both of them (total cost $26). When I tried to register them online, one of the cards failed to register. I called up ORCA and they said the one card was not activated and I would have to return to the Safeway I bought it from and have them rescan it. The manager at the Safeway said their policy was not to refund transit cards or to rescan them. I called Safeway customer service and they politely listened and said they would get back to me in two days. After not hearing anything from Safeway after two days, I filed a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General. They responded that my complaint met their standards and they would work with Safeway to resolve it. A few days later Safeway customer service called and they agreed to refund the money. They said the easiest/quickest method was to send a gift card. I agreed to that, so hopefully I get it in the mail and it works. I asked them if their policy was not to refund transit cards. They responded that their policies allow room for employee discretion and that in my instance, the employee was overzealous in their actions. A lot of work for $13, but sometimes it comes down to principles.

2024.05.03 02:58 No-Basil-3333 Same Ole, Same Ole (Four for One Post)

Finally back on shift with a new reddit account, and I have to laugh and how people/this industry never seems to change. (Been working on & off in the same property since 2019, saw COVID and all) In the few weeks since I've been back I've had four fun stories (one of them actually being good for a change!
Event 1: After the third instance of a soccer team sprinting up and down hallways, knocking on random doors, the parents being uninterested in parenting, management finally got together with a new DA RULES-esq contract that all rooms booked with team rates have to sign. The group gets the copy when they book, and the families can request a copy to keep. Da Rules firmly state that the first and only warning is being issued when the parents sign the sheet, and we are fully able to kick them tf out should the let little demon-spawn loose on my property.
Event 2: Creepy old men never change. I am younger & of feminine frame, and fairly short. My property is in The South (tm) which means I am no stranger to "Ma'ams", "Sweetie's" and 'Darlin's". However, I take issue when you stand as close as my divider chain allowed to talk to me about the most mundane situations in the world, asking me things you can easily google, and comparing me to your freaking niece while sprinkling in all of the aforementioned terms of endearment every 3 words.
I am nice because it is my job, but its getting to a point where I'm no longer attempting to turn on the southern-belle accent when I talk to old men, because 90% of the time they take it the wrong way. At least now I look old enough & know how to hide my food that they don't comment on what I'm eating & how I should include more vegetables in my diet (big thank you to that guy by the way, I'll be sure to include the vegetables I'm actively allergic to so you are happier)
Event 3: "No my name is-". People who are 40+ and do not understand hotel fascinate me. Let's call this lady Sue H. Sue calls me and says her company "State Delivery" (name obviously changed) is paying for her room this upcoming weekend but she wants to come in a day early and pay with her own card. Fine enough, I ask her the name its under, she tells me her name and her company booked it. I ask her rewards account info. She says its on there. I book her a new reservation & she asks me over and over if I can make sure its on her card and will they stay in the same room. I say yes, and yes, because I know I'm going to be the one checking them in & I left myself notes to get a new card when they arrive.
She calls back not 5 minutes later asking about the new reservation. The following conversation occurs. Sue H: "Well my name is Sue H just like my husband, it says the room is under Sue W." Me: "Yes ma'am but you said this was your rewards account and I have your husband who is checking in on here under the correct last name. Is it possible this your boss's rewards account or you made this account under your maiden name? Sue: "My Name is Sue H." This goes around about 2 more times and she even asks me again if the room will be going on her personal card. Eventually I just give up & change the last name for her.
KICKER IS THIS THOUGH. Her boss, Sue W, shows up today and changes the card back to the company card, and makes sure its still her rewards account on there. I have no idea if Sue H even has a rewards account, and frankly I can't be bothered to care anymore.
Event 4: ADA-idiots. We all love that Shmilton required their hotels to become bet friendly a few years back, we all love super shiny highest-tier members. What I LOVE so so much is super shiny rewards members who call me before even arriving talking about the "emotional support service animal" and asking to send over the certification card they bought for the animal. What's even funnier is this man did not seem to understand ADA law in the slightest, and I am half looking forward to repeatedly citing "according to law" to him tomorrow when he checks in and tries to get out of paying the pet fee.
If I'm wrong and he can answer the question great, but I told them the two questions today on the phone and he genuinely asked me "so is all that something you guys can look up??"

2024.05.03 02:54 Vikdoriouz HOVR Rideshare in Toronto

HOVR Rideshare in Toronto
Can a Toronto-based ride-hailing startup compete with Uber and Lyft? Ride-hailing company HOVR says fair pay for drivers will power their business.
CBC News · May 02, 2024.
Harrison Amit is leading a small startup with a big idea.
"The vision for the company is helping over 10 million drivers," said the 28-year-old CEO of HOVR (pronounced Hover).
The Toronto-based ride-hailing company launches today, and will service the city and surrounding suburbs.
Amit's goal is to make the company a national brand within a year and go way beyond that.
The question is whether this young entrepreneur compete with the global giant Uber, which has a 15-year head start and had 150 million active monthly users in Q4 2023 (including Uber Eats customers), or Lyft, which was founded 12 years ago and had 22 million active monthly riders in Q4.
HOVR’s yet to provide a single ride, but Amit believes his company's approach could shake up the ride-hailing industry because of how it will pay drivers.
"Our tagline at HOVR is 100 per cent fare is 100 per cent fair. And what that means is that the drivers take home 100 per cent of the fare from every ride that they receive."
It's a play on words, but also a strategic play, setting HOVR apart from the giants it's up against.
What 100 per cent of the fare means.
Amit says HOVR will appeal to drivers because instead of taking a percentage of the total fare on every trip to turn a profit like Uber and Lyft do, HOVR will charge a $20 monthly membership fee to work for the service.
That price is an introductory rate that Amit says will rise as the business grows, but a fixed cost means drivers don't pay more for working more.
That's how HOVR lets drivers keep "100 per cent of the fare."
HOVR says it will make the costs of each ride transparent, giving riders a bill that shows the fare or driver's pay (the base rate, kilometres and time), and includes what the passenger is being charged for insurance, city fees, a transaction fee plus a $1 "platform fee" from the company.
Amit says the 100 per cent fair slogan has helped sign up 5,000 drivers and 25,000 potential customers, through word of mouth, social media and a few billboards in downtown Toronto.
Milton Brady, a former cabbie who's been with Uber for four years, said he couldn't wait to sign up for HOVR.
"HOVR is a knight in shining armour," he said.
Brady says the industry needs more competition to make things better for drivers, and that HOVR’s pay model would give drivers a "chance to actually build some kind of economical stability in their lives."
Ride-hailing ripe for disruption?
In Amit's view, the ride-hailing business is due for a shake-up, like the taxi business was upset by Uber when it arrived.
"We're entering a market that is ripe for disruption," he said, "It's riddled with dissatisfaction, on both sides from the riders and the drivers."
Complaints about surge pricing and service, a tax investigation and unionization efforts are all issues the industry has faced.
"As an industry, ride hailing is in need of change," said Kam Phung, an assistant professor with the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.
"We know that it is riddled with problems and challenges, specifically on the workers' rights fronts."
On Valentine's Day this year, a driver protest and strike was staged in several cities around the world as some gig workers logged off their apps, refusing work to bring attention to their pay and working conditions.
In Toronto, a report from Ridefair Toronto and the Rideshare Drivers Association of Ontario (RDAO) estimated many drivers were making less than minimum wage after expenses.
More protests were staged this week in several cities to line up with International Workers' Day on May 1, with Toronto drivers protesting at the city's Union Station and Pearson Airport.
What Uber and Lyft say about the business and fair pay.
Both Uber and Lyft see the ride-hailing industry as thriving and report positive trends in their quarterly reports.
Both have also said they feel competition is good for consumers and drivers.
Uber Canada told CBC News in a statement "the vast majority of drivers are satisfied," and in the Toronto area, for example, "are making $33.35 during engaged time per hour before tips."
The company also said it believes "drivers should earn a guaranteed minimum wage," and it will comply with new laws in Ontario and BC that enforce such a standard.
In an interview with CBC News, Lyft CEO David Risher said roughly speaking, out of every dollar that you as a rider pay, Lyft earns about nine cents.
He said the remaining 91 cents is split between insurance and other fees, but most of it goes to the driver.
"It's in our best interest that drivers actually get paid more, because it means more people are on the platform," he said.
A global brand?
Amit says HOVR is "positioning itself for the global stage," but interest from drivers will be the key to the company's growth.
He hopes drivers who are excited about HOVR and working for Lyft or Uber will convince their passengers to switch over, as well.
"I don't believe there's any level of brand loyalty, it's more of a forced relationship with these companies, due to a lack of options."
Phung believes HOVR could grow quickly because there's a demand from some consumers for "gig-economy models that actually allow workers to have a fair wage, and contribute to the creation of a just and equitable society."
But, he added, the reality of competing against big multinationals means the company could be in for a bumpy ride.

2024.05.03 02:50 Subject-Arrival-4400 Trouble with my boss

So I work pastime at a small family owned ice cream shop, I had started last fall and worked a couple months then had to find a new job for their temporary close during the winter season. I started working again last month, and my boss has been giving me a hard time. For one, he had been making the schedule week by week, and we wouldn’t hear about the schedule for the week until Sunday or Monday, he just began sending them in advance in a group chat two days ago. Then he began cutting my hours out of nowhere, so I messaged him asking about it and he told me that so many people were taking off in June he needed to prepare by training new hires so he cut my hours. I said I understood, but would like more hours and told him I was available the next two weeks. He then told me that everyone had given him their calendar availability for the summer and that we couldn’t keep making a schedule week by week. I had not been made aware of this, and he was the one making the schedule week by week.
Finally, today we had a quite slow day, and normally he’s okay if we just talk or go on our phones while we wait for customers. Today however, he told me and my coworker “stock clean or do anything” and followed up by saying “you do realize I have cameras in the store right?” There was nothing that wasn’t stocked and we always clean and stock at the end of the night.
The most annoying part was on the same shift a customer had received a 5$ gift card from him because he had messed up the order. However, he had forgotten to activate the card so we called him. Instead of asking about the problem he first questioned why my coworker had given a discount away, it was to his family which he told us was allowed. My coworker then began explaining the situation and said “should I just take 5$ off the order?” And my boss responded by accusing the customer of lying then hung up on us without helping the situation at all. My coworker ended up paying 5$ out of his own pocket for her. I really like this job, it pays well and it’s enjoyable work but this kind of unprofessionalism and lack of respect for employees is really annoying, and he already seems upset with me so I know I’m on thin ice. Should I say anything or just stick it out?
TLDR: Boss treating employees disrespectfully and I don’t know what to do

2024.05.03 02:47 danberadi San Marcos, Lake Atitlan, Guatemala - Shangri La or Gentrified hype?

After spending a pretty nice month in Antigua, I headed to San Marcos as my base of operations for a month in Lake Antigua. I'd gotten the impression that San Marcos was an international gathering spot for hippies and consciousness-minded folks, so there'd be some good partying, nice yoga classes, and tasty, healthy food. I was also looking forward to learning about the indigenous Mayan folks who historically call the town home and speak various indigenous languages in addition to Spanish.
I know the consciousness sort of thing typically comes with its good and its bull, so I was prepared for that. I also knew the town had some issues with water and power getting turned off for a period of time. Friends that had been there said the worst was power going out for 1.5 days, which happened once during their 3 month stay.
Overall, I realized we'd need a decent place to work from, with Starlink. And I'd make sure to keep devices fully charged. If power went out, I could tether to my phone's hotspot (Claro SIM card) until it came back.
We booked one month at an AirBnb with a beautiful view of the lake, open loft floor plan for $1500. High price but it's larger than we're used to and we thought we were giving ourselves a treat for once.
The San Marcos downtown is lake-level, and there are two steep hills heading away from the lake, and further up into the hills there are some beautiful properties that do things like host retreats. We're 5-10 minutes up one of the hills. Been here 2 weeks so far.

The Good

The view from our place is superb. The lake is just gorgeous and on a clear day, you can see the neighboring towns and the volcanoes watching over it all. The vibe in town is pretty good and people are generally really nice. The indigenous residents always say hi back to us. The restaurants and cafes serve tasty food, in particular the Guatemalan-owned joints, and have a great aesthetic. Also, the women's tradition Guatemalan clothing is beautiful, and I find myself really admiring it often. There's a decent weights gym for the small town, a day pass was just Q20.

The Bad

The Noise and lack of peace
I was warned about roosters and dogs howling at night. Honestly, no problem. The nights where it's been just roosters and dogs have been fine. But, somehow, we arrived when the annual St. Mark (San Marcos) celebration was taking place, which has been going on all day, every day of our stay. We were hoping and expecting this would be a kind of tranquil, peaceful place, but in fact it's disturbingly loud:
Gentrification
There's blatantly two different worlds here. Foreigners came in on the new age hype train and bought up property and opened up businesses that clearly cater to only other foreigners with dollars. Employing Guatemalans at $2-4/hr and then charging like $8-9 for a bowl of rice and veggies. Yoga classes and other "high vibe" offerings are like $15-20 in most places.
The locals also now set different prices for foreigners. Not gringo price - it's out in the open. A tuktuk ride which is Q5 for Guatemalans is Q10 for foreigners. They will not take you for 5.
I was expecting more from a "conscious" community that there'd be more effort to create equality among services/offerings. Some places offer reduced prices for locals but other don't even try. I was initially excited to do yoga and try some vibey activities in these beautiful places but it's turned me off a bit.
Not much to do on a weeknight
All the classes and workshops are held during the day, so I found it pretty difficult to take advantage of them. The latest they'd start was 3 or 4. Makes sense since most people here are backpacking and/or on vacation, or holding their own classes and workshops. Most restaurants closed by 8.
Basic Utilities are much more sporadic than I expected
When you're paying a high price for a nice place and just want the basics so you can get your work done without stress, and running water gets cut off for 95% of the day for 3 1/2 days straight, and you don't get a chance to shower for 72 hours, it sucks.
Power has only been out once since I arrived, and was back in a few hours. But water's been much worse. It's been turned off for some time at least once a day. I've had to adapt where if it is on, that might be my only chance to shower and do dishes or else.
My place was supposed to have backup tanks, but they ran out fast. They got 5 gallon jugs delivered too, for drinking etc., but you have to pour 1/4 of those in the toilets to flush a turd. I'm also here at the beginning of rainy season, except it hasn't really started raining, so I wonder if low mountain flow/aquifereservoir has something to do with it. Bad timing on my part.
TLDR
San Marcos is not a good base for a digital nomad who actually works full time. However, I'd probably come back as a backpacker and/or stay at one of the beautiful retreat centers, and give it another chance.
But I definitely will never come back here in April or May. And I wouldn't stay on the hill. Either in town right by the lake, or way back in the woods. Joke's on me!

2024.05.03 02:46 meleyys Help me type my boyfriend?

I'm thinking he's some kind of NT, but other than that I really have no idea. Please feel free to ask questions in the comments; I'll answer to the best of my ability. Here's a collection of info I've written down about him that may help y'all type him.
He's kind. To everyone, including strangers, but especially to people he's close to. Even when we've had issues or he's been upset at something I've done, he's never been anything but kind and understanding with me. He's a little self-interested, maybe, but never malicious.
He's very intelligent. Intelligent enough to make his life work despite having untreated ADHD. He's good at memorizing information about things he's interested in, and good at math--much better than me (which is a low bar tbf lol). He's the planner in our relationship. He helped me plan out my trip to see him, and he planned out our house in Minecraft.
He's a pretty hard worker. Despite thinking capitalism is bullshit, he nevertheless makes far more of an effort at his job than I would in his place. He somehow finds the energy to work full-time, manage things at home, and go out with friends. Hell, he has a cold and he's still going to work. He also works hard to make our relationship work.
He's relatively socially active. He's an introvert, but he has a group of ~5-6 friends he spends time with pretty regularly. I'm his main person, though.
His hobbies/interest include both nerd shit and normie shit, ha. He works at a card store and loves card games. His favorite is Magic: The Gathering, which he plays regularly and has taught me about. He loves Taylor Swift's music and listens to it constantly. He likes watching sports, especially baseball, and knows a lot about them. Ask him about his interests and he can ramble for hours. Other things he likes include anime, DND, video games, tattoos, and cats.
He has a degree in geography with a minor in history. I don't know if he's ever tried to find a job in either field, but if so, he hasn't succeeded. He seems content to work in the card game industry.
What he struggles with: The one time I upset him, he couldn't tell me when we were in voice chat together and had to message me afterward. (I could tell something was wrong, but even when I asked he said he was fine.) This leads me to believe he doesn't do great when it comes to conflict with people he cares about. It's also hard to imagine him fighting for anything, even if it was necessary.
What he likes in others that he's not great at: He's mentioned liking stubbornness in a partner, and though he can be stubborn too, he's probably not willing to die on as many hills as I am. He also likes someone who can take charge and be the dominant one in the relationship, and seems to enjoy me being outspoken about my needs and wants.

2024.05.03 02:34 5GCovidInjection I got kicked to the curb by my mother because I confronted her for trying to steal my identity.

I have been staying with my parents since December 2023 since I have been unemployed. It’s been the most miserable six months of my life.
Nothing but verbal and even physical abuse at times from my mother, with the occasional death threat thrown in. I’ve had times where I had to stay with friends to avoid the abuse.
Fast forward to April 2024, and I notice some suspicious activity on my credit report. I got 5 different inquiries to open credit cards and other loans, dropping my score 30 points. I immediately order credit freezes and then file fraud claims with the banks because I obviously didn’t set out to borrow money while broke.
Today, I get the results and they all pointed to my mom using my info online and in the bank branches to attempt to open credit lines in my name.
I ask my mom “why did you attempt to steal my identity?” She says “big deal, byeongshin (retard in korean), you are no use just laying down in bed all day, so this isn’t stealing. It’s making you do the work your lazy ass isn’t doing now”.
“Do you want to apologize or do you want me to call the police?”
My mom then says “I will dig your grave before the police answer the phone, and they will never know it. You choose, big boy”.
I immediately start packing my stuff. She then comes in and starts destroying my belongings and tries swinging a hammer at my head.
I peeled out of the driveway and drove straight to a friend’s house without taking anything. Police said they’ll take a report but won’t send units to my parents’ house since there’s no evidence/injuries.
Taking a lot of energy to keep faith in the world after all this…

2024.05.03 02:32 NordicTomura I have max Demon Hunter and all my units have talents. I have ~2200 crit and keep losing to decks with less than 1800 crit.

I have max Demon Hunter and all my units have talents. I have ~2200 crit and keep losing to decks with less than 1800 crit.
I'm getting super super frustrated. No matter how powerful my deck is I keep losing to players I shouldn't. My equipment is good and aimed for DH. Every game I play I get overrun with monsters even when I have 50+ DH. What is happening and how do I fix this. Is it time to just go for a new deck?
