Well, UGEE results have been declared today (where's the guy who said it will be declared on monday tho). Just woke up, checked the result, have cleared reap cutoff but missed supr by 1 mark. Damn it hurts. Prolly gonna join some comedk college.
Anyways, coming back to title, few days ago I compiled a few UGEE interview questions, so thought of sharing them here for those who cleared UGEE (congo for clearing it, hope you clear the interview too).

My friend had the opportunity to appear for the Dual Degree Programs interview. She shared her entire experience with me. Once the document verification was done, the candidates were divided into seven groups. 20 minutes before the interview, she was given a sheet with 3 questions one each from Physics, Linguistics, and Mathematics.
She told them about her extracurricular achievements and they seemed to be impressed. One of the professors ended the interview by saying that if she got selected, she should come with her extracurricular file then. The entire interview lasted for 50 minutes and she considers it to be one of the most memorable interviews.

Eg: suppose you're stranded on an island and you know that the nearest landmass is n distance away. What is the shortest method to reach that. And other pcm questions with most of them relying on logical reasoning. The interview should be 2 way, i.e. only you shouldn't be the one talking and nor should the interviewer be the only one talking. If you get stuck on any question ask them for time to think or ask them for suggestions. Some questions won't have any answer and they're only looking for how you think and whether you're teachable or not, not whether you get the right answer

The interview questions can be based on some concepts in math and physics, or they can be completely logic based (strategizing, puzzle solving, etc). They want to know how well you understand the questions, how you break it down into simpler problems and how you think through it...they are not as interested in the actual answer. We are not supposed to share the exact interview questions so please don't ask/DM me about that lol. All I can tell is that I was asked two questions, first one was based on 3D geometry and the second one was purely logic based, basically I was given an emergency situation and was asked to create a strategy to get people out of the situation; not going into the details.
In general, you don't need to "prepare" anything specially for the UGEE interview. They just want to evaluate you based on critical thinking and research aptitude. The REAP paper is designed for the same purpose.
You can recollect your past accomplishments and formulate them with you hobbies so that you can present them well in front of the interviewers. Don't get mushy, don't exaggerate anything but at the same time, don't hesitate to share any hobby or achivement however unrelated it might be. They are not judging you only by your PCM grades, rather they want to evaluate you broadly as a person, someone having the research aptitude and interest. The institute is most ambitious about their dual degree course

It was based on a truncated polyhedron, the first part asked the shape we would get if we cut a cuboid along the opposite vertical edges. There were three more parts, obviously tougher than this, but he skipped them and went to the second question, maybe because of lack of time. I don't remember them.
Question 2
“An astronaut in space wakes up after years, not feeling weightlessness. Give possible arguments.” Well, the language was not the same, but similar.

Q: There are 10 stones lined up & you are standing at the first stone. You can move only forwards by 2 ways: (a) moving 1 place ahead ; (b) moving 2 places ahead by skipping a stone. How many possible ways can you reach the 10th stone?
A: I made around 5 cases wherein there would be 0/1/2/3/4 double-jumps (with the rest being single-jumps). And partially calculated it using PnC, until one prof asked me to explain my thinking and approach towards the qs. I think I explained it well (with a diagram for the cases) and we had a brief discussion abt it for a min or so. (He said I don’t need to fully calculate it)
Now, we moved to a physics question**, a very basic qs to test your thinking:**
Q: A balloon is filled with air(with a light rope) and placed in the centre of a closed room, what will happen to it?
A: It will fall down because of the weight of the rubber and of the rope.
Q: Right, let’s say that the rubber & the rope have negligible mass, what would happen now?
A: It would remain stationary in the room.
Q: Okay now if i fill helium to this, what will happen?
A: It will either move upwards or downwards depending on the resultant of the weight of the rubber+rope & the buoyant force.
Q:
A: It will not move upwards, but stay stationary due to the tension in the rope.
Q: Okay, so now I give you a scissor, with the same apparatus as prev qs, how will you make sure that the balloon doesn’t fly up to the ceiling.
A:
Q: But if you cut it too short, won’t it fly up permanently?
A: Yes sir, absolutely, it will. So what I’ll do is I’ll cut it long initially, and keep cutting it until the weight of the rope is equal to the buoyant force on the balloon. And more the net force, faster the balloon would go in the upward direction, so I can judge the equilibrium point becoming closer as the balloon starts moving up slower & slower.
Q:
A: Sir I will bring the balloon-rope system in equilibrium, to the centre of the closed room, and hold it stationary for a while so that there’s no constant velocity on it. This will make sure it’s stationary because there’s no other external force on it.
Q: Very good Sarthak. So, let’s move to one last qs, say I filled a balloon with air like the very first qs, in the morning, and left it like that till the evening. What do you think will happen? — just briefly think and answer, we just want to know your approach & thinking.
A: Umm sir, we’re assuming the balloon to be air-tight right?— Like no air can escape from the bottom hole (at where the string is attached)?

They asked me about my hobbies and interest and why i am interested in research ? Why I want to join IIIT Hyderabad? All at once
I answered them that my hobby is watching youtube videos, I am interested in volunteering and working with Ngo's and I am also interested in opening up electronic items and trying to repair it.Then why research? - I answered them that I want to become a scientist and research allows me to think out of the box and -------xyzabc---------.
Then comes the technical part.
Que1.The asked me what is arithmetic mean of (x1,x2,x3,x4……..xn)
Que2.Then they asked me their geometric mean
Que3.Then they asked me the relation between 2 que and arithmetic mean of (logx1,logx2,….logxn)
Que4.They asked me about the class 9 que that when a load carries in railway station carry a load is their work is zero and if yes why do they get tired?
Then they kept asking question around this only is air resistance is zero no friction etc …

3 questions - one from matrices and binary numbers, one from thermochemistry and thermal physics, and one from linguistics .
I was given roughly about 15 min to solve the questions. I solved the 1st two questions quite easily as they were simple ( also note that the first question of matrices and binary numbers was also error prone and very loosely defined I considered it to be wrong and so also discussed this with the pannel “All of them gave me a smile”.)
After trivia on the matrices problem and the linguistics problem the professors started asking me independent question which were very elementary questions from the fields of linguistics. They also asked me to represent certain decimals and and certain numbers in binary format as an exercise.
Then they asked for my board's percentage and my mains percentile and why I opted for 5 year programme. For the all the questions I was honest and especially for the last I told them it didn't matter to me if it was 5yr or 4yr .
My suggestion to you guys:
The interviewer are not there to know the right answer, rather they are there to analyze how you are able to think about the solution to see whether or not you fit for being a part of research institution. If you don't know answer to something, ask them for hints but don't get stuck anywhere and don't fear much, just be clear with your basics, no need to go on to deep learn the subject. Know a little about the branch that you wanna opt for. If you have an extra curricular, do tell them. Don't oversell anything, just be true to yourself and it will be a cakewalk. Also they will definitely ask for your hobby, do keep a few of them in mind and know a bit about them too. Like if you mention to them that you like reading novels, they will prolly ask which type of novels, or which is your faviourite one, tell lessons that you learnt from that novel, same goes for any other hobby. They are there to judge your personality and thinking ability. Sit down whener you are free, form a good intro for yourself including hobbies and all and try on to frame questions yourself, this way you will be prepeared for D-Day. Dont take stress during interview and try not to fumble, it will all be good

A few weeks ago, I was relaxing with some friends (all nevermo). One friend walked a good distance away, yelled a lewd joke and I yelled one back. It was so simple, but it hit me like a ton of bricks - none of the current people in my life right now, besides my spouse, knew me when I was Mormon. They didn’t know me when I was too shy and rigid from being beat into submission by my beliefs. They have only ever experienced this free version of me, the version that swears and samples their fancy drinks. The version that laughs with reckless abandon without feeling like I’m betraying my faith by finding joy outside of the boat. They don’t know me as Sister so-and-so, the nameless mother birthing children as my highest and holiest calling. What they DO know is the person who is and is still learning to be unashamedly myself. The person who is making a name and career for myself. IM SO GLAD I FINALLY GOT THIS BEAUTIFUL FUCKING PLACE with people who genuinely adore me for me. I hope we all reach a place where the act of being Mormon in our lives becomes a literal thing of the past 🤍

I've been trying to find someone in my local area to replace pieces of LVP that have popped out and/or have been broken. I have 2 boxes of material. I'm not asking to have the entire floor replaced, just a few planks at most, so this is why I'm sticking to handymen rather than a flooring company.
Over the last year, I've reached out to numerous people. Some want to come by and look at it, giving me a 3 hour window to do some sort of "inspection", even if I provide them pictures and a detailed explanation. Sometimes they tell me the sub floor is uneven (its not), or tell me its due to water damage (its not, the affected planks are getting liquid damage because they aren't level, but that's not the underlying issue). I had one spend an hour plus, just staring at the floor, overthinking the damn job. This one especially frustrated me, he was ripping off baseboards, trying to come up with a "why" rather than just replacing the broken pieces. Another actually damaged a neighboring piece trying to pull it up, during their "inspection". Others have gone as far as collecting information and then say they are "too far for me".
The most frustrating part of this is that I've found multiple YouTube videos of people doing exactly what I need done. Basically cutting out the old board, cutting off the locks on the new board, using some sort of adhesive and fitting the new piece in. I know it's not going to be perfect, but far better than the status quo right now. Its aggravating watching a 2 minute YouTube of something you're willing to pay hundreds for but no one wants to do it in your local area and acts like your asking them to do brain surgery.

there's just something about the way tall, lanky guys move that's so entrancing to me. ever since i set foot into that 7eleven, i had never been the same. i've been slightly into him ever since i moved here last year, but finals week got me completely untethered. i was dragging myself to the nearest convenience store just to get any form of nutrition into my system when i see him working his shit at the cashier (him doing his job). my tongue practically rolled out, my eyes were popping out of my sockets, and a "hotdamn" could've escaped my mouth if he wasn't staring.
he's just so babygirl in the whole sense of the word. no one has ever babygirled in the way he has babygirled. he arranges the stock and fixes the ice cream dispensehotdog heatecoffee machine so smoothly, and when i watch him, it's completely like watching choreography. his every move feels calculated but also not bcs it's probably just the way he walks, but it's just so hot like nothing feels out of place.
since that day, i'd be visiting the store at the time i knew his shift would be on. day by day like clockwork. didn't matter if i was dead fucking tired, i'd buy my lasagna and 2L bottle of water and eat facing the cashier so i could sneak peeks at him (i was also watching videos on my phone so i'm not just looking at him every second like a creep). sometimes i see him laugh and smile and i just find it so cute. but i especially like it when i kinda stare at him while he works. he just has that : serious face on him that makes me want to scream and cry. we also only interact at a customer-cashier basis, but i make sure to get a little bit of that fingertip action when i hand him my bills.

What many people do not know is that Dislikes shown by the RYD extension on videos made after 2021 are not real. You can easily skew the numbers by downloading the extension and disliking the trailer.

The sample selection bias in the extension data and how the Dislikes are calculated makes them appear much larger than they actually are, To put it simply, it's very easy for a handful of grifters to manipulate the ratios.
With that in mind, and considering that: - Most Japanese people didn't download the extension. and use the mobile app. - Neither Ubisoft nor Assassin's Creed are popular in Japan. - The Ubisoft Japanese channel averages less than 10k views. - Most of the top comments are Google translated.
It becomes clear what actually happened.
just because the trailer is in Japanese doesn’t mean only Japanese people can watch and dislike it. Anyone can do that. If I were a grifter wanting to create a fake "Japanese outrage" and push a false narrative, the first thing I would do is dislike the Japanese trailer
The same issue applies to the English trailer. While it definitely has a decent number of dislikes, they're nowhere near 500,000 or the majority.
Ever since YouTube removed dislikes from their API in 2021, the only people who have access to them are the channel owner and YouTube. However, RYD still works just fine on videos before November 2021 since the numbers are archived.
And finally, if you want to know how Japanese people feel about Yasuke, you can look up 弥助 (Yasuke in Japanese) on Twitter and read comments from actual Japanese people to see what they think of him yourself instead of taking everything you're told at face value. Alternatively, here is an entire thread with nearly 2000 responses (in replies and quotes) when someone asked what they thought of him. Twitter has a Google Translate integration, which is good enough to translate most of the comments for you. To sum it up, the majority of them are not bothered by it at all.

Well how did that all start? The people who had difficulties in life or were very stressed went to the internet for escapism, they were using video games or pornography to escape, that could be one of the reasons why these two subject are so connected.
As the years went by those escapists settled in the internet and made it hostile to everybody who goes against their views, to the point that the people who are against porn have no place to go.
And the whole escapism thing turned around and now the normal people have to escape from the internet in the real world, because the internet became so hostile and in general so deranged that you need to find an escape from all of this.
Even if you try escapism in the online video games then you are likely to meet several deranged and porn addicted people on one server and instead of recovering and removing stress you will just get even more stress and headache.
This is not magical stress escape place anymore, it's probably the biggest stress generator for escapists and double escapists alike from how horrible it turned out.

As the years went by those escapists settled in the internet and made it hostile to everybody who goes against their views, to the point that the people who are against porn have no place to go.
And the whole escapism thing turned around and now the normal people have to escape from the internet in the real world, because the internet became so hostile and in general so deranged that you need to find an escape from all of this.
Even if you try escapism in the online video games then you are likely to meet several deranged and porn addicted people on one server and instead of recovering and removing stress you will just get even more stress and headache.
This is not magical stress escape place anymore, it's probably the biggest stress generator for escapists and double escapists alike from how horrible it turned out.

Just want to be honest about things upfront. I've never been on a date in my life or had a kiss. I have arthritis in my ankles and psoriasis so I'm in pain a lot but managing. I'm 5'10 and about 230lbs. I've had a lot of anxiety growing up and I'm working on that. Right now my only real hobbies are chatting in discord groups, playing some video games(ps5/crappy pc) and watching anime but I'm also a big NBA/NFL/MLB fan. Honestly I'd really want to find someone I can give my everything to. Maybe rescue me? Someone that loves hugs like me but sadly I'm never able to get any. I'd prefer to find someone I could eventually meet but I don't mind trying long distance. I was providing child care for a 5mo, I’m insanely affordable as I was picking up the mom from center & taking them home for less than what’s worth it. $100/day for 9hrs of work, wear & tear on my vehicle, & gas. I have to add, they live 28+ miles away from me, one way & I was happy to do what I was doing for them. $125/day if I provided pick up & drop off. I did it & do what I do to curve to crisis. The mother made comments about how her & the baby’s father have chatted about how affordable & “cheap” I was considering the passionate care I provide and my flexibility.. the schedule is 2-3days a week, M-F the days changing week to week. Okay, so now on to the drama & why I’m frustrated. On 5/2 May 2nd I receive a message from the mom in the group chat we have with her co parent & baby’s paternal grandmother(she drops baby off to me) saying
“Good morning to you all. I just wanted to inform you guys that for today ____ will stay home. I have hurt my back to the point standing or trying to get up, bending at the knees and just trying to pick up ____ is painful and a struggle. I will update later today if there are more days ill be taking off. I just have to talk to my job and figure out my options.” “So as of right now I’ve taken off until my chiro appointment the 22nd but I have a ob appointment Tuesday so if I can get answers from them or they refer me to someone, it just depends what’s wrong with my back. I’ll be able to provide more info by Tuesday.” Her update: “Doctor is putting me in physical therapy. I will be off work for a month. I appreciate all of you and your patience.”
After that I ask where that places her return to work date.. the response
“And i should return to work by june 7th but I’ll send you an updated date when ______ gets back with me about my extension of leave and what date they want me to return.”
My gut & intuition is screaming that this is a facade. That’s honestly what upsets me most is the lying. While I can’t be sure shes lying, the post on her Facebook story have been pretty confirming. Shes posted her, the baby, & her baby sister at the park swinging on the swing set… someone who’s back is in significant excruciating pain doesn’t load up two kids take them to the park and get on the swing set herself & then takes a video of it all(before her chiropractor appointment because that’s scheduled for the 22nd & it’s only the 18th). She was working to pay for child care & her debt. I was providing child care so the father could sleep(he works overnights) & so she could go to work. Her co parent provides essentially everything else. She also voiced to me she wants to be a stay at home mom(I think she mentioned it because I’m a homemaker🤷🏽♀️) That’s so far out of reach for her & her current reality so I guess she’s trying to live that life while it’s semi accessible? Idk. I don’t say that to be judgmental or critical it’s just the truth of the matter considering her circumstances. Whats most frustrating about it is it feels like she’s taking advantage of my flexibility & circumstances.
I want insight, advice, what to put in a contract if I do decide to continue proving care, anything you can offer regarding this. A part of me, wants to professionally call her out & inform her she needs to find a new child care provider based on the above events but if I can get a strict contract written up & signed id prefer that overall. I have already decided the cost of care/duties will most definitely be increased if I do decided to continue being their provider.

Hello,
our LO is 12 weeks old and we have some troubles putting him to sleep. Especially during the day. He looks tired yet it sometimes takes more than hour before he falls asleep and when he does, the minute we put him to the crib, he wakes up crying. Sometimes he doesn’t fall asleep at all in between the feeding.
It’s not like that all the time, it feels like one day is good and one or are two bad.
Do you have some tips for this?
Recently we got a carrier which helps, but we feel like it’s not ok for his legs to be there more than couple hours a day.
Also I was trying to find some youtube videos on techniques and there were literally just videos of people talking about it but no videos with actually showing it. So if you please have some sources that could help, please share them with me.

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while. I have an Amazon FireTV, the type of setup where you download streaming services apps directly on your tv device. The dropout app has been acting crazy for a few months now (it hasn’t always done this): - progress bar doesn’t update / stays stuck during an episode, unless I close the app and come back - i can only move forward and backward by 2-3 minutes at a time, instead of smoothly deciding where to stop - if I click the return button (which I would usually do to exit an episode but stay in the app), first it goes back 20 minutes or so in the episode and then I have to click at least one more time to actually exit - the result of all of this is that I mess up the bookmark of the episode and to resume it some annoying trial and error is needed to find where I stopped - also, whenever the next video in the autoplay begins, after a few seconds the following one in the queue starts (thus jumping one); so that I have to manually find the new episode from the catalogue
Anyone has an idea of how to solve this?
I should also note: - this app on this tv used to work normally - other apps (like max and Netflix) still work normally - the dropout app on my iPad works just fine, and also the website from my computer works

I noticed my GPU ran very cool compared to my 85w 3070 I used to own and decided to download MSI Afterburner only to find out that my GPU is running between 70-80 watts on Cyberpunk and running at a max of 98 watts on Starfield. This is with the Mux Switch on.
I was stunned. This laptop is advertised as 125 watts + 15 watts dynamic boost, but unlike videos of the 30 series GPUs it never reaches full wattage. I'm assuming this is done through bios or drivers.
This is some serious bull****.
I should add this issue only effects the 4050, 4060 and 4070. The 4080 and 4090 run at full wattage.
