Don’t go to Nebraska
2024.05.02 09:54 Y0u_G0t_Sum Don’t go to Nebraska
“Please whatever you do don’t go to Nebraska. Especially in Kearney, I know it sounds fucking crazy but please don’t go I know what I’ve seen. They’re hiding something I know they are, it’s demonic it’s something I know it’s not real but it’s real, Dustin please don’t come looking for me , don’t ask about me , don’t even call the buffalo county sheriff office they’re in it.”
I still remember that voicemail I still have it , it’s 2 years old about in a couple of weeks. He said e was going to be back in a couple of months but he never did. I know it sounds crazy but has anyone been to Kearney? I seen google images of the place and it’s very beautiful.
I don’t know I can’t leave him there without knowing haha happened to him, but before I even go I want to leave this if anything happens to me and I want to leave some context on this situation I’m going back to. My name is Dustin that’s all I’m going to leave it at cause it the internet so you can’t trust anyone but either way just know I want at least a few people to know my name. Can’t trust people now a days.
But to the context my best friend (Tanner Jones) he was going to see some girl he met on Facebook. He said they really hit it off and that they’ll visit each other if they had a chance and the money. I thought it was only going to last a couple of days and he’ll move to the next girl. I mean long distance relationships don’t last long anyways until I finally met her. I think it was round may, he was pretty nice dark brown hair, brown eyes , average body and height. He was nice, funny, bit shy and smart but cautious. She was asking me questions like what I do for work, do I work out, what I eat, what I do on my free time, am I religious and do I know the Bible well. To me I think it’s odd but she says she just doesn’t want to offend me but it’s the way she asked the questions. Like she’s recruiting.
She was only visiting just for a couple of days since her family is wealthy. So she says, but I don’t know. A couple of weeks pass and he goes to her home town. Of course we called like every day cause of how nice her family was treating him. He said they live in a huge house like a 6 bedroom house in a 2 acre land. They live in a small but large community. His words not mine, but I get the idea.
They continue their long distance relationship for a couple of months until he just left his job and the apartment (during the time we were roommates) just to live with her over at Nebraska. Believe me when I tell you I was pissed off. He didn’t tell me anything about his decision to go to Nebraska. But his explanation was that he was deeply in love with her and that he wanted to marry her and that she wanted to have a child together too. Even at that point they known each other for 5 months they move to the point about marriage is insane to me. I told him to fuck off and look for an other roommate.
We haven’t spoken in a couple of months after the argument but deep down something was off. I know him he wouldn’t make a drastic change like that in a whim. He’s more of a planner than just jumping into a pool of water kind of guy.
I called him to see how he was doing , we chatted and even apologized for his behavior. I couldn’t be mad at him we known each other back since 2009. Beside he’s done stupid shit in the pass. But his voice while on the phone with home was off, more like he ls been smoking a lot, like a 10 year smoker veteran.
The more we talked when we had the chance the more different he sounded. In some days he sounds raspy, others normal . Some like his voice was deep but like was using a voice changing app on a phone or computer. But the one tag caught me off guard was when he sounded like him self but uncanny like, you hear someone else voice that sounds like the person you know just a bit different. It didn’t sit right with me so I took a week off from work from work and went to Kearney. I rented a holiday inn at the edge of town.
Tanner and his fiancé, yeah she had a ring in her finger. We talked about when the wedding and if I was invited they said yes and we cracked jokes while we cruise around and showed me around town . First It was a normal small town old buildings , 2 antique shops, sheriffs office, a fire station ,etc. then about 10 mins away from the town was a gated community which they lived in with the rest of the family. Big houses with big land. Each house at least had 2 acres each with a wooden fence lining the property line.
Met the family mom, dad, big brother and big sister. Which was very off putting cause the older siblings were in there late 20s. The mom was acting like a traditional nuclear family mothewife always happy and giving out compliments. Same with the dad acted like the same but more masculine and rough. The older brother saw the same like the dad kinda like looking at a mirror which was uncomfortable to say the least. the older sister was more quite and calm looked like a hippy than the rest of the family. We all ate dinner that night and invited me to do some activities during my week visit. I couldn’t say no cause how nice they treated me.
By the end of the week I left back home and thought I was being too dramatic. But from time to time when I try to call him I’ll either get ghosted or just blocked for a couple weeks straight. He’ll call me in the middle of the night crying saying he wants to go back home then the next morning he texted me saying forget about it he was just home sick, but the calls would be more frequent and be more unnerving. He called me at 3 in the morning this one time and was just screaming no words just screaming.
I called the police around that location by using the office number they had to check on him but they said he fine. Many months pass and many times I called the sheriff to check on him but they always respond with that’s he’s fine. The phone calls would be less and less , I’ll spam call him but nothing. That’s when I got that one voicemail. I called the sheriff that night but not response not for a week so I figured they just blocked my number.
I was too scared to know what happened to him and for good reason. I received a call with a private number on it my first instinct was to just ignore it but I thought of tanner so I answered.
“Tanner? Is that you bro?…hello?”
“Hello? Hi is this Dustin?”
“Yeah who’s this?”
“You don’t have to worry about me sweetheart , just know tanner is ok and he’s happy at his new home”
“Can I talk to him, I Tred calling him for months and he wouldn’t-“
“He broke his phone while we were doing family night but he should be getting a new phone soon “
“Oh ok… I’m sorry who is this?”
“Don’t worry honey tanner is ok I’ll let him know to give you a call back ok bye bye now”
“WAIT WHO THE HELL ARE YOU AND WHERES-“
My best bet is to look for the fiancé on Facebook. I’m going to get tanner back no matter what. Something is wrong and even is it’s some creepy cult shit I’m going to get him. I’ll keep you all updated if any good progress happens thanks for reading I’ll be seeing you all soon.

2024.04.28 12:33 TomAffectionate I (ubuntu noob) want to assist the network by setting up a Bitcoin node on a Raspberry Pi, but Ubuntu has other plans.
| *edit* Solved Prerequisites: * Raspberry Pi 5 * 64GB SD Card * Ubuntu Desktop LTS 24.04 * Kingston external USB disk 1TB I have: - Installed Ubuntu desktop on my Pi 5, and "sudo apt update && apt upgrade"
- Verified that the Kingston disk can be accessed via the 'file manager' in Ubuntu.
- Installed 'Bitcoin-core' (v 27.0) via the Ubuntu app store.
When I click on the Bitcoin node app, I get a prompt (see screenshot) which says 'Approximately 12GB of data will be saved in this directory', and 'when you click OK, an additional 600GB of data will be downloaded', which I don't have space for on the SD card. Therefore, I want to point to my 1TB external Kingston disk, but this is my problem. It's not possible to point to the external disk (which I otherwise access via the file explorer without any issues). I found a bitcoin-config file which was empty. I tried to add: datadir=/media/username/KINGSTON but then I can not even start the Bitcoin app without getting error "Settings file could not be written" What is wrong? Why can I not use my external drive? (will not answer in DM) https://preview.redd.it/wnn5oj3h37xc1.png?width=2476&format=png&auto=webp&s=79b3bc05707e157d1df2bb25992dcf51dbe2c593 *edit* SOLVED!! THIS SOLVED IT When I tried... snap connect bitcoin-core:/media/useKINGSTON ...it finally worked. I just had to specify the full path to KINGSTON (the external drive). submitted by TomAffectionate to Bitcoin [link] [comments] |
2024.04.28 00:24 littlebabyorange 2015 sonic vs 2009 Yaris
My budget is $5000, but I think it would be worth financing an extra 1-2k for a Yaris.
Car 1 is a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic LS 81,114 miles, previous accident rearended no damage $6k Car 2 is a 2009 Toyota Yaris S 112537 miles, no damage or apparent accident $5k
My parents are REALLY set on the sonic, but it’s at a dealer with only 3 reviews—one of which is 1 star. The Yaris is at a dealer with far more reviews and a better rating overall.
Generally speaking though, is the sonic a better car? My mum is convinced it is, but I think she might also just be being argumentative because I really like the Yaris. Is a <$7k Yaris a bad idea? Also, what total mileage would u be okay with on a used Yaris?
tldr: newer $5k sonic vs older $6k Yaris

Solved by installing arch again, clean wipe- the problem that I only get errors in save still persists…
Whenever I try to use nvim for python the lsp doesn't give me any suggestions (only snippets) and only tells me warnings and errors on save.
I've already tried
reinstalling nvim completely, including cache, pacman Rs'd
look into :LspLog (empty),
took a look at :LspInfo

2024.04.16 17:56 zeev18 How bad are these cervical and lumbar MRIs?
40 yr old Male: work out weekly, 20% body fat, keto/ carnivore diet. I've had back pain since about 2009 but it's never been something that got in the way. Recent MRI after (started in late December) complaint of weird feelings (it's like it has wasn't mechanically functioning properly) behind my right knee that developed into pain going up the hamstring to the buttocks (recently) and right arm pain on the inner lower part of bicep and fourth and fifth digits would tingle (mostly at night) and sometimes during day. My doc (Neurologist) initially diagnosed my right arm with a pinched ulna nerve (via nerve conduction study) but not sure if that still stands after these MRI results. Doc hasn't reviewed the MRIs (cervical and lumbar) yet (next month) but I can view them on the portal. Are they bad?
LUMBAR
FINDINGS: The designated LS-S1 disc space is on axial T2 image 39. Chronic bilateral L5 spondylolysis with grade 1 anterolisthesis of L5 on S1 by 4 mm. Vertebral body stature is maintained. No acute fracture. The conus medullaris terminates normally.
L1-2: Disc desiccation. Mild facet hypertrophy with bilateral facet joint effusions. No stenosis.
L2-3: Disc desiccation. Mild facet hypertrophy with bilateral facet joint effusions. No stenosis.
L3-4: Disc desiccation. Moderate facet hypertrophy. 1.5 mm disc bulge. Mild bilateral lateral recess narrowing and mild bilateral neural foraminal stenosis. The spinal canal remains patent.
L4-5: Disc desiccation. Moderate facet hypertrophy. No stenosis.
L5-S1: Disc desiccation with mild disc narrowing. Moderate facet hypertrophy. Anterolisthesis with uncovering and posterior bulging of the disc up to 4 mm. Moderate bilateral neural foraminal stenosis. Material contacts both exiting L5 nerve roots. The spinal canal remains patent.
IMPRESSION: 1. Multilevel lumbar disc degeneration and facet degenerative changes. At L5-S1, there is grade 1 spondylolisthesis with moderate bilateral neural foraminal stenosis. 2. Other findings as above.
CERVICAL FINDINGS: There is good alignment of the cervical spine. Vertebral body stature is maintained. No acute fracture. Craniocervical junction and the cervical spinal cord are unremarkable.
C2-3: Disc desiccation. Mild uncovertebral spurring. No stenosis.
C3-4: Disc desiccation with mild disc narrowing. Mild facet hypertrophy and mild uncovertebral spurring. 1.5 mm disc osteophyte complex. Mild right neural foraminal stenosis. The spinal canal and left neural foramen remain patent.
C4-5: Disc desiccation with mild disc narrowing. Mild facet hypertrophy and mild uncovertebral spurring. 1.5 mm disc asteophyte complex. Mild bilateral neural foraminal stenosis. The spinal canal remains patent.
C5-6: Disc desiccation with mild disc narrowing. Mild facet hypertrophy and mild uncovertebral spurring. 2 mm disc osteophyte complex. Mild bilateral neural foraminal stenosis. Flattening of the ventral aspect of the thecal sac without spinal canal stenosis.
C6-7: Disc desiccation. Mild facet hypertrophy and mild uncovertebral spurring. 1 mm disc osteophyte complex. Mild bilateral neural foraminal stenosis. The spinal canal remains patent.
C7-1: No significant findings.
IMPRESSION: 1. Multilevel spondylitic and facet degenerative changes in the cervical spine. At C4-C5, there is mild bilateral neural foraminal stenosis. 2. At C5-C6, there is mild bilateral neural foraminal stenosis. 3. Other findings as above.

2024.04.15 23:02 apaiger High beams out — what to check next?
High beams intermittently stopped working a couple weeks ago, now fully. Indicator on the dash board doesn’t illuminate either, BUT flash to pass does work (and dash board indicator will come on in that case).
I changed the fuses in case it was that; no luck.
What would you check next?
Side note: the signal lever is cracked but I used electrical tape (like >1 year ago) and it seems to be working fine, but could be related?
Appreciate any advice. Thanks!

2024.04.15 21:47 RepresentativeFull51 What would you do?
I need a vehicle with a backseat as the family is getting bigger I have some pros and cons to each vehicle I am about to list and want to hear what you would do just to hear some other opinions and ideas.
I currently drive a 2002 Chevy Silverado Regular cab which has been a dream and I would buy 10 more if I could. I have had it for the last 9 years and its closing in on 250k miles which isn't a problem but we are expecting and I would like something just a tad bit nicer but also reliable and with a backseat.
If i had the money I would buy all 3 of these cause I think they are all great cars and would serve the reasons I want them.
I would probably buy all of these from Private Sellers like FB Marketplace especially the Silverado. The Lexus may be the only one I finance as they are not as cash friendly in the private market.
TIME FOR MY CAR SHOW:
2003-2010 Silverado: I like these vehicles plus they are familiar to me and I trust them.
Pros:
- More durable and better off in a wreck
- I know how to work on these trucks already as they basically run in our family and I currently drive one
- Parts are cheaper and plentiful (counting junk yard parts)
- Very reliable
- Customizable aspect
- V8 engine :)
- Has a backseat
Cons:
- Not good gas mileage (My fiance has a more fuel efficient vehicle tho)
- Has a hit or miss A/C system (located in southern Texas and summer is about to start). Some A/C systems work forever, and some work only when they want to.
- Older in general (not a major problem to me personally but I would still like something atleast a little newer lol so still a con nonetheless)
- Some sellers dont treat truck very nicely
2009-2014 Honda Civic: I like these cause they are reliable and I am a car guy so they have a personal customization aspect to them as well. I like the look of them more than the Toyotas in the same year and they are almost as reliable
Pros:
- good on gas
- has a back seat
- reliable
- Would last longer being a newer car than the truck
- parts are relatively cheap (also junk yard parts)
- updated features/newer car
- Not as skilled on this vehicle as the truck mentioned but Ive seen a couple videos and I know I can work on this car myself.
Cons:
- Not sure if its just the ones that I am personally seeing or not but alot of them have A/C issues
- Smaller car so not as safe in a wreck
- Hard to find one without 200k+ miles already for a decent price.
2013 Lexus LS 460: this would be my "if everything else is perfect" car meaning I know its more on the expensive side but it has nearly everything I would want.
Pros:
- V8 engine :)
- Has a backseat
- From what I have read it is reliable being built by Toyota
- Has enough of the Luxury feel I would like even if it is 11 years outdated cause I don't need anything too fancy
- Also has the customizable aspect
- Would last as long as the honda being they are around the same year
- Has significantly better gas mileage than what I am getting now
Cons:
- Obviously a bit harder to find in a decent budget but I have found 3 that I would buy right now if I knew forsure what I wanted.
- Luxury brand so parts are more expensive than other cars listed
- Is a car so would be less effective in a wreck compared to the truck
- Since its a newer car, it is more difficult to work on so but I know I could do it myself if needed but it might just take longer since I am not as familiar.
I plan on keeping my current truck as I really like it and have other plans for it. Just to re-iterate I know some of these aren't perfect cars but they would be good enough for me and I would buy all 3 right now if I had the money.
Regarding money I am not on an extremely tight budget so I have a tiny bit of room to splurge, hence me throwing my Lexus in there :). I already have a solid chunk of money saved for these vehicles and still saving as well.
So what would you do?

2024.04.12 20:54 invisibleinability What is postural tachycardia syndrome, and how is it diagnosed? Can it be treated, or do you just have to live with it?
A diagnosis of postural tachycardia syndrome, commonly known as POTS, typically is based on symptoms, along with the results of an assessment called a tilt table test. Although there’s no cure for postural tachycardia syndrome, often it can be managed effectively with lifestyle changes and medication. And fortunately, teenagers — the group most often affected by POTS — usually outgrow the disorder by the time they reach their 20s.
Postural tachycardia syndrome affects the autonomic nervous system, which controls involuntary body functions such as heart rate and blood pressure. In postural tachycardia syndrome, the nerves that regulate blood flow are out of balance, so enough blood doesn’t go to the right place at the right time. The result is a variety of symptoms, including an overly rapid heartbeat when shifting from lying down to standing up.
A person’s heart rate is usually about 70 to 80 beats per minute when resting. Normally, the heart rate increases by 10 to 15 beats per minute when standing up, and then it settles down again. For people with postural tachycardia syndrome, the heart rate goes up considerably higher when they stand, often increasing 30 to 50 beats per minute or more. This can lead to lightheadedness, dizziness and fainting.
Other postural tachycardia syndrome symptoms may include chronic fatigue; headaches or other types of chronic pain; and digestive problems, such as nausea and cramping. These symptoms may vary considerably from one person to another. If symptoms seem to be pointing to postural tachycardia syndrome, the diagnosis usually is confirmed using a
tilt table test.
For a tilt table test, you begin by lying flat on a table. Straps are put around your body to hold you in place. After about 30 minutes of lying flat, the table is quickly tilted to raise your body to a head-up position — simulating a change in position from lying down to standing up. Then, your heart rate and blood pressure are monitored for about 10 minutes. In people who have postural tachycardia syndrome, the heart rate goes up by more than 30 beats per minute when tilted up (40 beats per minute or more for teenagers). Blood pressure remains steady or changes only slightly.
Postural tachycardia syndrome begins in the teenage or early adulthood years. Although postural tachycardia syndrome is a chronic condition, about 80 percent of patients grow out of it. Until that happens, treatment can ease postural tachycardia syndrome symptoms.
In people who have postural tachycardia syndrome, the blood vessels are too relaxed. Extra fluid is needed to fill up the vessels, allowing blood to flow properly. Drinking extra fluids alone isn’t enough. Increased salt intake is also necessary to hold fluid in the blood vessels. It’s also important for people with postural tachycardia syndrome to avoid caffeine and alcohol.
Exercise is critical. Engaging in daily, moderate, aerobic exercise — biking, rowing or swimming, for example — not only improves fitness and increases energy levels, but also works to retrain the autonomic nervous system to regulate blood flow correctly. Wearing garments that mildly compress the thighs and abdomen also can encourage proper blood flow and reduce postural tachycardia syndrome symptoms.
A variety of medications are available to treat postural tachycardia syndrome. But they are generally not effective if the strategies of fluid, salt, compression and exercise are not also in place.
Because postural tachycardia syndrome is a complicated disorder that can show up in a variety of ways, those with postural tachycardia syndrome may need to use several different treatment options. At times, it can be challenging to find a treatment regime that successfully controls all postural tachycardia syndrome symptoms. If you don’t respond well to initial treatment, it’s important to continue medical care and work with a provider familiar with postural tachycardia syndrome who can customize care to your individual needs.
