2024.05.17 13:08 digital_wiz How We Scaled a Hair Extension Brand using Facebook Ads and SEO to give $80,000 ROI in 6 Months (Detailed Breakdown)

Hello Redditors,
This is an incredible success story of how we helped a client achieve incredible results in just four months, generating an $80,000 return on investment (ROI) with a combination of SEO and Facebook Ads. We have completed many successful projects and there's a certain satisfaction in seeing our strategies translate to such tangible growth. I have tried to keep this post extremely detailed so that it can be beneficial for experienced marketers and newcomers alike.
The Client: Hair Extension E-commerce Brand
Revenue Split Between SEO and Fb ads: 3:2
Average Order Value: $350
Total Revenue(6 months): $140,000
Expenses(6 months): Product Cost + Delivery cost + Team + Agency Fees + Ads Cost+ Website Optimization + Packaging: $60000
Basic Company Background:
The brand was being run by a Mother-Daughter duo for the past 3 months. They had a shopify website with average structure and were struggling with facebook ads themselves. Although they made few physical sales due to friends and relatives but were unable to utilize the digital potential of their business as such. After trying facebook ads for some time they wanted a reliable digital marketing team to work with and they were recommended to us by one of our other customers who has a service based business. Initially we connected majorly for facebook ads but after the initial discussion when were doing research from our side, we found that there is huge potential in SEO for this niche so we suggested that we should prepare a proper website on wordpress and focus on both SEO and Ads parallelly as, although Ads will give an initial boost to the business but SEO will bring some stability and help in building a sustainable business.
Facebook Ads Campaign Structure:
Ads Creatives and Brand Positioning:
It's important to note that after deep research we could find that a major share our hair extensions customers are females aged between 21-45 so we did not actively position our brand as solving problems of low hair volume, but instead we focused on how the products ads style, gives a much better look and you can try new hairstyles and hair colors daily. Also since almost all the demographics in this age group are working, we tested a professional look angle as well which gave us decent results. In ad creatives as well as on the website we made the daughter as the face of the product as we want to slowly grow her instagram as well which can add another organic and sustainable stream of revenue. She shoots before and after transition videos, general product application videos and other videos for ads according to the target audience and brand positioning strategy we discussed earlier. Instead of making long videos focused on product details a lot, we made short but captivating videos which can appeal to the young audience’s fashion sense.
Key Takeaways from FB Ads:
Mostly Meta Ads or Any other marketing tactic is just a traffic source but conversion will basically happen by how well you are able to communicate your product to the audience through your website. Its is necessary to have a smooth user journey, attractive offers, crisp information and right brand positioning on the website.
It is extremely important to make data driven decisions and track customer journeys meticulously. Always rely on your own tracking or google analytics to avoid the potential unreliability of Facebook Ads Manager.
Seo Strategy
If you don’t already know this, SEO is all about how effectively you can strategize your content and technical efforts keeping a bigger picture in mind. After our initial keyword research we could find that the average Kd of the important keywords was low when it comes to commercial keywords which were directly related to the business.
It's important to note that since the website was being built after our onboarding only so it was easy for us to structure the website according to the SEO strategy that we prepared.
At every stage we had meetings with the developer to ensure that there are no technical issues that will hinder the SEO growth and future and also we structured the website to be SEO friendly. We built separate pages for all the product categories and after through keyword research we added content to those pages so that the pages itself can rank for commercial keywords.
After the website was ready we audited it for technical issues(Like mobile friendliness, H1 tags, canonical tags, etc) we started focusing on the content. We wanted to establish our website as a trusted authority in the hair extensions and hair care industry in general.
Since the website was completely new, initially we created blogs(2-3 times per week) around informational keywords with low KD purely for increasing our website authority and bringing the initial traffic on the website. We have seen that usually people start stressing about approaching big websites for guest postings since the first day itself but if your keyword research and content is solid, that is not required in the beginning. Initially we focused on profile creations, image submissions, pdf submissions, internal linking in the content, web 2.0 backlinks etc and this was more than enough for us to rank for low difficulty keywords and increase our DA to a decent level so that our category pages can rank for low difficulty keywords.
Here I would like to include a tip, many times people are worried that what if the backlink that they have created doesn't get indexed. In the initial phase we work really hard when it comes to what we call as maturing our backlinks as this is the major factor for ranking on low difficulty keywords. So basically what we do is, we make backlinks of our web 2.0 backlinks itself which helps the primary backlink in getting indexed which ultimately helps with our website DA.
Also many people have been asking us in our previous posts how we structure our blog since I talk a lot about content quality, see it's not as hard and it doesn't involve a lot of research at least in the initial phase when you just have to rank on low difficulty keywords. In this phase usually what we do is study the top 5 ranking blogs on the particular keyword and make sure that we include more content and more subheadings then them. Also we try to find opportunities to include tables or charts wherever possible, we include good quality images(original if possible) and at this stage internal linking is very very important so we focus on that as well. In later stages although the basic strategy for framing the blogs remains same, overall content strategy varies a lot from business to business and requires a lot of strategizing depending on the brand positioning goals.
So after we were able to rank for low difficulty informational keywords and our Website DA reached a decent level due to our backlinking efforts, we started writing content around the fashion advice and common problems which people face related to hair in general. But as discussed earlier, we wanted to keep our brand positioning fashion centric, so even while writing about common problems we applied a positive and solution centric approach. We strategically placed internal links to our product pages in the content and tested popups with offers as well. Apart from this, we started guest posting as well at this stage. For finding websites for guest posting we used SEMrush’s backlink gap analysis tool and created a segregated list of blogs that we can reach out to based on their content quality and DA. By this time the store started generating decent revenue from ads and SEO so the client was completely onboard with reaching out to blogs for guest posting. Guest posting and overall strategic SEO application started generating a good amount of traffic for us and in 3-4 months the revenue generated due to SEO surpassed our Ads revenue as well.
Advantages of Combining SEO and Paid Ads
While Facebook Ads played a crucial role in launching the brand and driving initial traffic, SEO has emerged as the primary driver of sustainable growth. This approach allowed us to:
SEO efforts are always ongoing but we are really satisfied with the base that we have built and we are really looking forward to working with keywords with higher KD and generating more revenue with SEO In the upcoming months. Although we will keep running ads in future as well mostly for awareness purposes but the major revenue will be generated from our SEO efforts. Apart from this, as we mentioned earlier, we are looking to actively start the Social Media efforts as well from the next month itself. We will be looking to target Instagram and Tiktok in the initial phase and we believe in 2-3 months social media will contribute towards 25% of our revenue which will grow rapidly.
Thankyou For Reading!

2024.05.17 13:06 Cherilyn_Leep How to get a passive income? $4000 a month

How to get a passive income? $4000 a month
Hi, I want to share a leak I learned about in the closed community.
This method is quite simple but extremely effective. It involves the MEXC exchange and the EOS coin (you can learn more about it on CoinMarketCap).
The method revolves around using an old EOS listing address that compensated users with a percentage of the commission (initially, the exchange set too high a commission for each transaction on the EOS network, and in order not to lose potential investors, EOS reduced the percentage using their own funds). The listing passed, and EOS changed the cold address to a hot one, which does not provide such an opportunity. But the joke is that if we use the cold address, it will bring us a profit of 0.5%. It's a small percentage, but with compound interest, you can earn a decent amount of money.
How to do it?
1) Buy a EOS coin
2) Then go to Wallet, Spot and select the purchased EOS
3) Select Deposit and copy MEMO (Digits)
4) Go back and select Withdraw
  • Network: EOS
  • Address: testnet
  • MEMO: Enter the copied MEMO
5) Choose a small amount of coins for the test
6) And after ±10 minutes we get the amount sent, but only +0.5% (in coins)
MEMO - It's your wallet ID, so it needs to be entered every time!
Careful!
  • Do no more than 20-30 transactions per day because MEXC may block you for a while due to suspicious activity, and you will just lose time
Additionally:
  • This one can be automated, I have already realized it, and I am ready to sell the script cheaper than the market! So you don't have to do everything by hand.
  • If anyone wants the original post or video tutorial, I can drop it on PM

2024.05.17 13:03 jununiper what the hell am i supposed to do

hi yall, this is my first post here, super super fun. i have this roommate who has actually never really been a problem up until a couple months ago or so. buckle in because this one is kind of complicated.
when i originally moved in to this place i was in a long-term relationship, i was also pretty much a hermit and didn’t really enjoy going out drinking (i still don’t). my roommate during this time would constantly pressure me into going to bars i didn’t want to go to for MONTHS. i would always get made fun of for ‘letting my boyfriend control my life’, ‘having attachment issues’, etc. i never thought much of it because a) we’re not friends and her opinion really doesn’t affect me, and b) im happy with the way my life is.
fast forward to a couple months ago, this roommate started dating a new guy who is… very scarily similar to me? is the best way i can describe it. me and this boy have the same hair colour, eye colour, skin colour, music taste, fashion sense, shoes, introverted personality, etc. ever since she started dating this guy my life has been absolute fucking hell, i feel like their hotel room service or something at this point. they are always here during the day, having loud shower sex (in our shared shower), making a huge mess with MY personal plates and cutlery, leaving garbage everywhere, and then running away to his house to spend the night before i can say anything. she never does any chores, i have done absolutely everything around the house for the past 2 months, including taking out the garbage every single week, unclogging the shower drain twice a month, sweeping and mopping the floors, etc. i would have no problem doing these things on my own if the amount of cleaning reflected the amount of messes i make, but instead i am cleaning up after 3 people, on top of also working 6 days a week. i don’t think it’s unfair to expect my jobless roommate who is not in school and does nothing except fuck her boyfriend in my shower to AT LEAST clean up after herself.
additionally, my roommate, who a couple months ago would make fun of me for being the way i am, has now started to subtly copy me in a lot of different ways. for starters, she has changed every single one of her shower products to be the exact same as mine. her and her boyfriend spend every waking minute together, but they never go out, just like what i was made fun of for months prior. she changed from being a complete night owl (waking up at around 1pm every day) to setting her daily alarm at the exact same time as me (6;30am), she does not have a job or any classes so she had no reason to change her sleep schedule so suddenly. this one hit really close to home as i only started waking up early as a way to avoid social interaction in the house. she’s been shopping for clothing and shoes in my style, and intentionally leaving these new clothes and shoes around the house for me to see. the best way i can describe living here right now is that it feels like an intentional punishment for me being the person i am, like she’s trying to get me to either change my personality or move out. (neither of which are going to happen)
i have confronted her already about the dishes, the loud shower sex, and the chores, none of which have really improved. i guess i came here mostly to rant, but also to ask just genuinely wtf am i supposed to do in this situation? i just want to feel at home in the home i pay for, take care of, and clean. is that too much to ask? how should i approach this going forward?
i’m just so sick of having to dedicate so much of my free time to cleaning up messes i didn’t make, for people who treat me like shit. i also just cannot fucking stand laziness, and all of my alone time has been robbed of me. please help

2024.05.17 13:02 dipplersdelight My very biased personal review of several self-hosted reverse proxy solutions for home use

(This was originally a comment, but I decided to make it a post to share with others.)
Over the past few months, I've tested several self-hosted reverse proxy solutions for my local network. Here's my experience for anyone looking for opinions. Full disclosure: I'm not an advanced user. I mainly use reverse proxies for accessing simple local services with SSL behind memorable URLs and haven't dipped my toes into anything more complex than integrating Authentik for SSO. I prefer file-based configuration, avoid complexity, and don't need advanced features; so this list certainly won't be valuable for everyone. Feel free to share your opinions; I'd love to hear what everyone else is using.
Here's my opinionated review of the reverse proxy solutions I've tried, ranked from most likely to recommend to new users to least likely:
  1. Caddy: By far the most painless reverse proxy I've used. Extremely lightweight, performant, and modular with plenty of extensions. Great documentation and descriptive error messages. I currently have most of my services behind a single instance of Caddy running on a Debian LXC on Proxmox and I love it. Combined with the ACME Cloudflare DNS provider addon and VS Code Server for easy configuration from a web browser, I couldn't recommend a more painless solution for beginners who just want to access their local services behind a TLD without browser warnings. Having my entire home network's reverse proxy solution contained within a single, elegantly formatted Caddyfile is a godsend. Though, if your setup is complex enough to require using the JSON config or you rely heavily on Docker, you might also consider Traefik.
  2. Traefik: Probably the most powerful and versatile option I've tried, with the necessary complexity and learning curve that entails. The Docker label configuration is fantastic, and I still use it on systems I haven't migrated away from Docker. I find the multiple approaches to configuration and the corresponding documentation hard to wrap my head around sometimes, but it always seems to pay off.
  3. Zoraxy: Despite being relatively new, it's the best GUI-based reverse proxy solution I'm familiar with. I grew out of it quickly as it was missing very basic features like SSL via DNS challenges when I last tried it, but I'm still placing it high on the list solely for providing the only viable option for people with a phobia of config files that I currently know of. It also has a really sleek interface, although looks can be deceiving. YMMV.
  4. NGINX: Old reliable. It's only this far down the list because I prefer Traefik over vanilla NGINX for more complex use cases these days and haven't used it for proxy purposes in recent memory. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about NGINX (besides finding the configuration a bit ugly) and I use it for public-facing services all the time. If you're already using NGINX, you probably have a good reason to, and this list will have zero value to you.
  5. NGINX Proxy Manager: Unreliable. It's this far down the list because I'd prefer anything over NPM. Don't let its shiny user-friendly frontend fool you, as underneath lies a trove of bugs that will inevitably lead you down a rabbit hole of stale issues and nonexistent documentation. "I've been using NPM for months and have never had an issue with it." WRONG. By the time you've read this, half of your proxy hosts are offline, and the frontend login has inexplicably stopped accepting your admin account credentials. Hyperbole aside, I've never self-hosted anything as fragile and prone to sporadically breaking as NPM in its current state, which is especially unappealing for something you might be putting all of your self-hosted services behind. From what I can tell, development is primarily focused on a major overhaul (v3) rather than fixing current issues in v2. I'd recommend anything else until then, including nothing at all. Just my experience though.

2024.05.17 13:01 A_N_F_18 Daily Airline Brief: Airlines jockey for position in DC, Boeing and Airbus need to get tough with suppliers, United and Emirates make route network changes, and Copa overcomes adversity in Q1

NETWORK PLANNING UPDATE

Making their return: Emirates is resuming flights to Nigeria, two years after a cash dispute caused the airline to suspend flights to the Lagos. In late 2022, Emirates claimed it had tens of millions of dollars in revenue that it could not get out of the country. At its peak, Emirates says more than $85 million was trapped in the country.

Jockeying for position: The FAA Reauthorization Act which was passed by both houses of Congress this week, created an additional 5 perimeter-exempt slots at DCA. Even though President Biden has yet to sign the bill, airlines are lining up to propose new routes. American wants to fly to San Antonio while Alaska wants to fly to San Diego. Slots like these rarely come open, so it's no surprise to see airlines already expressing interest.

🔌Pulling the plug: United will stop operating seasonal flights from LAX to Brisbane and Auckland. While many airlines have tried to pull ahead of the pack in LAX, none have yet to succeed for the most part.

FLEET UPDATE

🤞 Keeping faith: Singapore Airlines’ CEO said the airline still expects to take delivery of the 777-9 in late 2025 despite some in the industry anticipating further delays to the 777X program. The airline was originally supposed to take delivery of the aircraft in the 2021-22 fiscal year.

⛔ No more blame game: Qatar Airways’ CEO said Airbus and Boeing need to put more pressure on their suppliers in order to cut down on production delays both manufacturers are currently experiencing. This is not the first case of an airline CEO calling out these companies, and is unlikely to be the last.

LOOSE ENDS

🐕 Out of the doghouse: In March the FAA increased their oversight of United following several incidents and limited the airline from launching new routes and taking delivery of new aircraft. Most of those restrictions have now been lifted and the airline can now take delivery of new aircraft. It's not entirely clear what the nature of the FAA's oversight into United was, but evidently the airline managed to resolve the FAA's concerns in just a couple of short months.

Overcoming adversity: Copa reported Q1 2024 revenues of $893.5 million, a 3% increase YoY, driven by a rise in passenger traffic. The airline posted a net profit of $176 million, up $18 million from the previous year despite a $44 million negative impact from grounding 21 Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft in the wake of the Alaska Airlines' mid-air blowout.

2024.05.17 13:00 LordVillageHoe Help in clearing a few doubts regarding Masters in GeoTech in Australia

Hey guys, as the title suggests I am planning for master in GeoTech in Australia and I am planning to apply for 2025 intake. I am got by bachelor's in civil engineering back in 2023 and since then I have been working in a start up that specialise in prefab building in their R&D degree. I mainly handle GeoTech and sometimes BIM. (P.S I am a civil engineer based in Chennai)
I have a few doubts regarding this and so if anyone can help me out here it would be great.
  1. I wanted specialise in tunnels and underground structure so as I understand the best way to go about this doing a research in parallel with my masters degree so l came across masters with research degree in most top unis, so is this same as the research assistantship in US unis or basically masters with thesis like in the us ?
  2. I understand based on my research from the Australian skill immigration website, that GeoTech and civil engineering are high skill and high in demand, so this demand in actuality true ? And how is pay, like is it gonna be good enough for a comfortable life.
  3. I have been lurking around this sub for sometime and as I understand there is a poor image for international students particularly from India (understable tbh), so could this affect my employment opportunities and my social life ( I am in the autism spectrum so when it comes to social interaction I am already on the back foot)
Thanks for anyone who gave a few minutes for this post.
NOTE: my main aim in moving to Australia is to pursue my career in GeoTech and civil engineering. It's been my dream since I was in 2nd grade, but in India anything other than IT, Medicine or Finance ur gonna get shit pay and civil particularly has a very toxic environment here, so i have no interest in switching careers and just wanna do my stuff in peace, so do understand.

2024.05.17 12:59 thedoomofdamocles Absolute Beginner Gym Guide

I know there are already guides on this subreddit, but I wanted to create one for the Day 1 beginner, someone who doesn't have any knowledge and even lacks the motivation to make the gym a regular part of their lives.
Exercise:
Yes, diet is important, but I believe that muscle growth is more dependent on what you do in the gym than on what you do outside it.
However, my suggestion for the first few days is just to acclimatize yourself to the gym. Start with the treadmills or the cycles. Maybe try a weight machine just to see how it feels. Make yourself feel like you belong in the gym and then you can move onto the workouts.
A lot of people get frightened of the gym because of how much there is to learn and do there. So rather than explaining the use of each exercise, I thought I’d just give a couple of sample workouts. 3 days a week is a good place for an absolute new inductee to start since most new members may not yet have the dedication or commitment to go to the gym 4,5 or 6 times a week. The program is a full body template so even if you skip day 3, you will have hit most muscle groups at least once just by doing Day 1 and Day 2.
I have two versions here, Lower body dominant and upper body dominant. You can select based on preference but as a general recommendation, based on current day beauty standards, most men would prefer the upper body and most women the lower body versions of the program.
Each exercise is to be performed in sets and reps. Reps are how many times you need to be doing a particular exercise in a particular cycle. Sets are how many cycles of them you need to do. So, if you have 2x6 for squats, that means that you squat six times, then rest a couple of minutes, then squat six times again.
Rest time suggestions may vary but I’d suggest 2-3 minutes on average to start.
The programs are below:
~Lower Body dominant version~
Day 1 Goblet Squats 4x6 Dumbbell Shoulder press 4x8 Lat pulldown 3x10 Leg curl 3x10 Dumbbell Bicep curls 3x12
Day 2 Dumbbell Romanian deadlift 4x8 Dumbbell Bench press 4x6 Seated cable row 3x10 Leg press 3x10 Cable Triceps extension 3x12
Day 3 Assisted pullups 4x6 Dumbbell Lunges 3x12 Chest press machine 3x10 Leg curl 3x12 Dumbbell Lateral raises 3x12

~Upper Body dominant version~
Day 1
Goblet Squats 4x6
Dumbbell Shoulder press 4x8
Lat pulldown 3x10
Cable Triceps Pushdown 3x12
Dumbbell Bicep curls 3x12

Day 2
Dumbbell Romanian deadlift 4x8
Dumbbell Bench press 4x6
Seated cable row 3x10
Dumbbell Lateral Raises 3x10
Cable Triceps overhead extension 3x12

Day 3
Assisted pullups 4x6
Dumbbell Lunges 3x12
Chest press machine 3x10
Dumbbell Hammer curl 3x12
Dumbbell Lateral raises 3x12

I’d suggest following this routine for just the first 4-6 months and then moving onto a routine with more sets/reps/exercises.
Diet:
We all know how to improve our diets. Increase consumption of meat, eggs, fruits, vegetables, legumes, lentils, lower fat dairy, etc. and decrease consumption of fried/sugary/overly processed foods.

That’s how one should start. Yes, all of us want to lose fat and gain muscle. But unless you’re overweight, you don’t necessarily need to start with a cut/calorie deficit. You can take advantage of a phenomenon known as body recomposition. Since your body is detrained/undertrained, you can currently lose fat ~and~ gain muscle at the same time. This phenomenon is easiest to access when you’re an absolute beginner so I’d suggest just cleaning up your diet and focusing on your workout. You can try to get onto a bodybuilders diet and supplement routine once you’re a bit more experienced.

The final points are about patience and sticking to the basics. The journey takes time, years even, but that’s a good thing. You’ll look better today than yesterday and even better tomorrow. I’d suggest not being in a hurry to get there.
Stick to the basics. There are no magic pills, magic exercises, magic routines. The exercise routine I’ve mentioned above isn’t special, they're just one option of many. Weight loss and muscle gain are all about consistency and intensity. Be there every day and progress every day, whether it’s increasing weight, reps or improving your form. In no time, you won’t recognize the new version of you.

2024.05.17 12:58 Novixxx Question for the men

What reason would you have to keep talking to a woman, like almost 24/7? I been talking to this guy, conversation is wholesome and no sexual advances. Even when he's at work or playing his game he would still keep the call going. I tried asking him if we ever tried to be together, would he think that we would work-he replied yes. However, most of the time he would mention "I don't believe there's true love in dating apps" (we met in one) He would also say "I'm better off as a friend" His actions tho make me think that he likes me but, then he says all of those. That's why I'm wondering why is he keeping me around.
Back story: We started talking 3 years ago. He's in the US, I'm in the Philippines. He said he would visit here was implying that we should meet. I wasn't ready that time to meet him but I already liked him. Anyway, l asked him that we stop talking muna kasi nga I’m afraid that I would agree to meet him.
A month later (i think) I saw his IG story that he's back in the US. We got into talking again but, this time he said that he got back with his ex (from PH). So I decided to befriend him. Eventually, we drifted apart then one time i saw that we were no longer mutuals in any socmed.
Back to present year, I was about to delete my snap but i saw our conversation there. I decided to say hi to him since its been years since we talked. He replied back and thats how we reconnected. Now we're talking like we used to, as if years didn't pass by. Apparently, he and his gf back then didn’t work out (LDR moments). He said he tried to contact me after that but he couldn’t.

2024.05.17 12:58 yperfysikos A resident visa problem

Hi guys, I'm from India. For the fifth year of my degree, I could undertake a project anywhere in the world. I got one in Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Academia Sinica, for a period of 10 months.
Thing is, first three months of the project is funded by the NSTC IIPP program, and the next five months by ASIAA itself, and the last two months I am planning to self fund my stay. I consulted the TECC in Chennai, India to get a list of documents that I will need for my visa.
They looked at the offer letter from my PI (Personal Investigator) at ASIAA and were like "bro your funding comes from two different sources, you have apply for visa twice"
I was very confused because I had mailed them about this last month and they instructed me to apply for a resident visa for study. Now they are asking me to apply for a visitor visa for the first 3 months, come back to India, reapply for a resident visa for the next 7 months. They said that "visa remarks" would differ for the 3 and the 7 month periods.
Which makes no sense, because I will be doing the same project, just with different sources of funds, this is not something that was mentioned on their site either. Even my PI was under the impression that I will be needing only a resident visa.
My problem is not coming back and reapplying, it is about the insane and complicted red tapism involved with the health certificate attestation in India since Taiwan regrettably doesn't come under the Hague convention, and does not accept an Apostilled document.
This is quite frustrating because I was supposed to leave for Taipei in the first week of June. Is their argument correct? If yes, would changing the offer letter clause change anything regarding the visa? Thanks in advance (plus I have never travelled to another country in my life, an ELI5 approach would really put things into perspective for me 🙏)

2024.05.17 12:57 EnvironmentalBag5050 Female in a lesbian relationship but attracted to a male coworker???

English is not my first language so I use google translation. Please bear with me! 🙏🏼
I am a woman, 29, and have been in a lesbian relationship for three years. I am happy and secure with my girlfriend and our relationship, and we are soon getting married. I have never questioned my sexual orientation before or after meeting my girlfriend. Before her, I only dated guys, but when I met her, I just knew, She is my person.
We were friends for about 1.2 years and spent a lot of time together before I took the initiative to become more than friends. It wasn't easy at first, but because we had a strong friendship and knew each other well, we were able to build a stable relationship. Compared to my previous relationships where basic friendship and understanding or the desire to understand each other were lacking.
I have always had issues with guys, both in dating and friendship. Interests in my previous straight relationships started solely based on looks, and it really wasn't possible to just learn about them or hang out as friends, which never led anywhere. Stress and uncertainty in these relationships often made me feel like they were looking for something better. In some guy friend relationships, everything was cool until they got a girlfriend, and then it just went POOF in the air. 💔
Now I've started a new job where there's a guy who I initially found neutral, both in appearance and personality. I'm social and talk to EVERYONE at work, but I've noticed strange looks from colleagues when we interact. I didn't think much about it UNTIL during a shift when my colleagues moved him to my department three days in a row and seemed to expect a reaction from me when handing over information.
  1. That made me start thinking more about him. There were no thoughts or feelings before this, so I'm not sure if I'm influenced by others. During the latest shift, I really felt a curious vibe and avoidant behavior between us. We avoided drawing attention, but I noticed that we often sought eye contact with each other.
We haven't really talked much, 2. which might be why I can't shake off the attraction and curiosity? Our conversations are always interesting and fun, even if they're about random things or work-related. I notice that we get looks when we're in the same room, so I try to keep it short and even avoid looking at him. We're both younger and good-looking compared to other colleagues, and we both seem aware of this and try to avoid drawing too much attention, even though we'd like to talk more (which we do as soon as there's no one nearby).
We work at a preschool, so I see how he interacts with the children and find him incredibly humble, which may contribute to the attraction. My confusion lies in not knowing if my attraction is 3. admiration for how good he is at his job, 4. if it's in a sexual way, or 5. if I find him interesting because of his calming energy, similar to that of my girlfriend. That's what got me interested in her.
I have ADHD and have struggled to understand and regulate my feelings on and off, and I'm not sure if this is something I need to confront or if I'm just influenced by my surroundings. I feel guilty and wonder if this is cheating on my girlfriend. Should I feel this way or not? Sooner or later, I will tell her everything because we have never kept anything secret from each other. I have been thinking, analyzing, and speculating about this for several days now. As I said before, I have never questioned my sexual orientation and have always found masculine women (like my girlfriend, who is androgynous) and humble men attractive when it comes to sexual attraction.
HOWEVER, one thing I have been thinking about for a long time since my twenties, when it comes to making friends of the opposite sex, it seems like we've been indoctrinated by norms and movies to believe that if two attractive individuals talk or hang out with each other or have chemistry, there "must be something romantic or sexual there". This frustrates me when I don't have that intuition?? And maybe that's one of the reasons why I don't have many guy friends. BUT I also get confused and conflicted when I find a guy interesting and maybe just want to be friends with him, as in this situation. That these norms haunt me. AND When it comes to making female friends, you don't get treated the same way by your surroundings.
I have never been attracted to a person solely because of their appearance, but it's the person's personality and our chemistry that determine whether relationships stick or not.
I would appreciate hearing what you think and feel about my situation. Has anyone experienced this before? If so, what did you do and how did it turn out?

2024.05.17 12:56 GamerX_2019 I'm kinda concerned about the legitimacy of of the laptop I wanna buy

Q: I wanna buy an Asus TUF f15 fx507zi. in my country there's a variant of the laptop with 32GB of single channel ddr4 3200mhz ram that has a max capacity of 64GB, but idk if it's an official variant of the laptop provided by Asus or just a modified version that their re-selling. Like I'm worried that they might've changed some internals for the original and put fake ones in it. should I buy this one or is it an unofficial variant of it? cause as I checked on the official website of Asus, there wasn't such version listed in their menu. also can I later on upgrade the fx507zi to a DDR5 memory?

2024.05.17 12:56 bunners_b Cancelled flight, no notification

Hi all,
First time ever encountering this, and now have some time to kill in the airport, so looking for some feedback from anyone who has experience.
Is it typical for BA to provide no notification of a flight being cancelled? Only found out when I accessed the app at the airport to retrieve our boarding passes. Had to accept the "offered" alternative as it is was the only one available that gets us back to Gatwick before midnight (car is there, have a 4 year old with us so alternative airports really not practical). It now involves a layover in Madrid (from Mallorca) before getting to Gatwick and an 8 hour delay!
The lack of communication is outstanding, and it was only by fortune I went to access the boarding passes as soon as we entered the building rather than waiting until we'd passed the check in desks and upstairs to security, that I discovered we were cancelled. Immediately accepted the change to get us home and was able to check in with the new carrier. Even now though, 3 hours after our original flight should have departed, no actual communication from BA. Is this typical?
Any advice/guidance on claiming compensation for the delay? Can this only be done once our journey is complete? Started trying to raise one and the system "couldn't find our flight".
Thanks

2024.05.17 12:56 Confused-By-Others I (41F) Confused by Friend’s (36M) Behavior Change

Let me start by saying I’m highly introverted and extremely bad at reading social cues. I’ve slowly become friends with a guy at work and we’ve become closer friends as the past year has gone by or so I thought.
We have been going through a semi similar experience the past year as my husband passed away and this guy has been going through a rocky divorce. Not exactly the same thing but we share about the hard stuff and I’ve listened to him vent a lot and talked him through a lot of struggles. We also have a lot of common interests and both work night shift (about five months ago he went to work for a different company). Since he left we went from texting rarely to several times a week to pretty much every day. He even recently told me he wanted me to meet his mom because he thought we’d have a lot in common. I’m an introvert, that struck me as odd but I know other people have friends that meet their families so I was open to it.
I know there’s no interest in anything aside from friendship. My marriage was bad for a lot of reasons; I have a ton of healing to do and haven’t been shy about sharing my lack of interest in dating anyone. He’s never said anything about it aside from he still has feelings for his ex wife and isn’t looking for anything either. On top of that I’m a 2 maybe a 3 lol so I doubt there would be any interest towards me anyway.
I say that because everything has abruptly changed in the past week. One night everything is normal, he stopped by my house to pick up something. Stayed a few minutes and left. We texted more after that. Then the next afternoon I sent him a funny meme (pretty normal for our communication pattern). He saw my messages but didn’t respond, I was like ok he’s busy. Sends a short response towards the end of his shift. Next few days I’ve sent him a couple more memes and a few messages…same thing. He usually messages back very quickly and openly engages. Last message he hasn’t responded at all at this point even though, again, he looked at it. I’m super confused. Did I misread our level of friendship? I stopped messaging him because I obviously don’t want to be that annoying pushy friend who tries too hard but I’m not sure what to do now since I value the friendship quite a bit. I also am afraid of looking like a clingy or overly attached friend if I ask him point blank if everything is ok or if I’ve done something wrong. Any advice on if I misread and thought we were better friends than he did or maybe how I can best handle the situation going forward? Do I just ghost until he actually reaches out?
tl;dr I think I assumed we were better friends than we are and might have messed up by messaging him too much and am not sure how to go forward from here and still salvage the friendship. Advice to help me fix things?

2024.05.17 12:55 EnvironmentalBag5050 Female in a lesbian relationship but attracted to a male coworker???
