Warfarin causes hemorrhoid

Breast ultrasound scare

2024.05.17 12:14 sarwahhhhh Breast ultrasound scare

Breast ultrasound scare
I am 34F, today I went for a breast ultrasound and I was told that I had fluid on my left breast. I have 10cm & 6cm of fluid inside my breast capsule. I have been experiencing pain in my left breast, my left breast is significantly larger than my right breast which has only been aching/swollen for 4 days. I would love to know if anyone could give me an insight into what this fluid could potentially be as I am very worried it may be BIA-ALCL or is there a chance it could be a benign cyst.
I have put my medical history below if you needed any background information that could help.
2009- diagnosed with Graves' disease, I had radioactive iodine during my diagnosis. Was on Carbimazole for 9 years
2010- I had breast implants put in, the implants were macro textured/polyurethane implants have been removed from the Australian market due to risks of BIA-ALCL.
2014- diagnosed with bilateral pulmonary embolism was on warfarin for 1 year. I also had recurrent miscarriages during this year. I was also on birth control pill during this period which is why I think that could of cause my unprovoked PE
2015-2016- I was diagnosed with SVT heart condition from unresolved Graves' disease. I was given 2 does of adenosine in the ER
2019- my body went into Thyroidtoxicosis from the excessive force used from being strangled in a domestic violent incident. I had a full thyroidectomy and I am now on thyroxine.
2024- I am 6 months postpartum and I asked my GP if I could please have a copper IUD but for some reason in Australia they are not available, so I ended up having Kyleena IUD inserted March 1st. Since I have had this IUD I have noticed that my breast has been different and more sensitive.

2024.05.17 06:40 6GGXXX Did my doctor fail me, or did I fail my self?

30 Years old, diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis at age 28. had psoriasis since age 13. No other medical history.
Since I was about 14 years old i've had blood in my stool, not all the time, maybe like once or twice a week. I was to embarrassed to tell anyone about it, so I just made a doctors appointment on my own without telling my parents. My family doctor did a rectal exam. She told me I had hemorrhoids and that it'll likely come and go but that it's not something to worry about.
Flash forward 15 years later (of consistent bloody stools), turns out it was caused from a polyp that has been growing ever since. I had it removed but it's way to late (Cancer). It was definitely the polyp causing the blood, since it was removed I haven't had a single bloody stool for over a year.
The only reason this even came up is because I got a CAT scan to look at the inflammation in my body due to my arthritis. That doctor said she saw something in my colon, she didn't think it was anything major but recommended I get a colonoscopy anyway (which is of course what I did)
To be honest I feel like I should accept responsibility for this, looking back it seems absurd that I just accepted bloody stool for 15 years thinking it was normal. Younger me just accepted the wise wisdom of my adult doctor and thought nothing more of it.
The main thing that makes me kinda sad is that my gastroenterologist (who performed the colonoscopy) told me I had no signs of ever having hemorrhoids. Although he did say it's possible I may of had them and they went away, I'm pretty convinced I never actually had them, and that my family doctor just assumed I did.
That's basically all, I've read multiple stories of people dying because they didn't seek help when they were experiencing symptoms, I just feel frustrated that I'm dying even after seeking help that could've potentially saved me but didn't, but I also think I could've tried harder.

2024.05.16 18:05 Yoda___ Hemorrhoid from hell?

Sigh. This is not a fun one. Apologies for the descriptions to follow... 30 years old, Male, otherwise healthy
For the past few months I've been dealing with pretty intense pain when going number 2. It's almost like just as things start to move and right before it starts to come out, I'm getting stabbed in the asshole with a knife. Then things subside as it is actually coming out. I don't know how else to describe it lol.
I don't particularly notice any pain when I'm just walking around and everything -- it seems mostly contained to when it is BM time. But good lord -- I have a pretty high pain tolerance and I find myself damn near having to grip the wall when I'm on the toilet.
Is this likely a hemorrhoid? Do they usually last that long and cause THAT much pain?
Super embarrassing thing to head to the doctor with and I don't necessarily want to if it's not necessary. Try prep H for a week or so? Anything else? Or just stop being an idiot and go to the doctor?

2024.05.16 16:39 WeirdAlbertWandN How much blood is somewhat normal to see with your hemorrhoids?

I’ve dealt with hemorrhoids for a few years, and the bleeding I experience happens on and off. It won’t happen for a while and then will happen a couple days in a row.
The last few days, the blood has been quite profuse, staining many pieces of toilet paper bright red and dripping into the bowl. To the point where I am somewhat concerned about how much blood there is.
I had a colonoscopy just last week, and it came back fully clean except for ‘mild hemorrhoids’ as they put it. The blood is always bright red, not darker, so I know it must be coming from my hemorrhoids and not further up.
But still, the amount of blood has been quite large and somewhat worrying. The toilet bowl is stained red at the end. Is that something that hemorrhoids (supposedly mild ones as the Dr put it) are able to cause? I had extreme pain a couple months ago, but have taken steps to improve my hemorrhoids with my diet and haven’t had the pain. But the bleeding is still very present.
Also, the bleeding is coming from internal ones I think because it is completely painless despite all the blood. Just trying to figure out if bleeding in that amount is something hemorrhoids can cause.

2024.05.16 16:33 angiecan PostOp Immediate Relief of All-Over puffiness and leg swelling

Hello!! I am 50yo. I am 6 days postop. They took everything but ovaries.
I had a hysterectomy because I have had very heavy bleeding for over a year.
Seemingly unrelated, over the last ~6 years, I have been dealing with minor leg swelling, mostly in left leg I think because of a vericose vein. The swelling seemed to mostly affect my ankles and it would sometimes be worse than usual.
One attempt to help the bleeding involved birth control pills (combined) and after 7-8 days the swelling was so bad I could see the tightness in my feet and they hurt to move. I stopped the pills and doc changed me to Norethindrone (progesterone). That worked wonders for the bleeding. Was on it for 4 months before hysterectomy.
(Sorry this is so long!!)
The day after surgery, I look down at my legs and I think, “huh, I look tiny, wtf?” I could (and still can) see the tiny ankle bones that I had forgotten about.
Over the next couple of days, I realize my legs look completely different. I then realize my face isn’t puffy in the morning. My neck looks smaller. My body is completely different. AND, sorry, TMI, but we’re safe here, my hemorrhoids (child birth x 2) are basically not there.
So what I thought was leg/ankle swelling was really all-over swelling.
I messaged my doctor to ask if my uterus could have been blocking blood flow or lymph or causing other issues that can cause so much water retention, edema, whatever.
She does not think my uterus (which was 2 x larger than it should have been) was big enough to block anything, but she is super happy to hear I am feeling better.
My uterus is still with pathology. I had a small fibroid and a polyp. The plan was to biopsy the polyp. I had very little scar tissue from a myomectomy in 2005 (MAJOR surgery, super painful).
So, hoping the results are all good AND I’m hoping the swelling doesn’t come back.
What do you think, ladies? Anyone else experience this?
Thanks for reading this lonnngg post!

2024.05.15 20:47 superiortea45 Skin tag, infection, or some other thing?

Hello, For the past threeish weeks I’ve had this problem with a lump around my anus that is confusing the hell out of me. I’ve called six different doctors to try and get it checked out, all of whom either A.) don’t offer that service B.) don’t have an opening anytime soon or C.) don’t take my insurance/cost is expensive. I am willing to go with places like C if the severity is high enough, but I’m at a loss for what this is and if immediate treatment is needed. I’ll describe it below along with my symptoms.
Wednesday, three weeks ago: l notice that my anus burns, causing mild discomfort but no pain (unless I pass a stool, which have been normal, as have my bowel movements). It’s not itchy, and I feel fine other than that. I pass it off as not washing my asscrack well enough in my last shower.
Saturday: after cleaning well in my last shower, burning is still there. Not worse but not better either, though now it only burns when I poop and a little bit after. I take a look and find a small white bump inside the opening of my anus. Bump does not hurt to touch, am unable to tell if it’s full of pus or just looks like that cause it’s white all around rather than at the top like a whitehead. I could, of course, be wrong in my assessment.
At this point, I do some research, coming up with no conclusive ideas. Symptoms most align with hemorrhoids but it looks the most like infected anal abscess or skin tag. In the interim, I get hemorrhoid ointment and wipes to help with swelling. I have brief constipation but nothing crazy.
While I put medication on it, it gets irritated and flares up a bit, then dies down quickly. I minimize how often I touch it and keep everything clean.
A few days later: I get diarrhea for unrelated reasons (period), which makes the lump flare up. Flaring dies down the next day.
Now: Lump shrinks more, but is still there. No more burning or discomfort of any kind, hasn’t gotten worse in a week. Not once have I had symptoms of leaking, blood, itching, fever, major changes in bowel movement (with the explainable exceptions mentioned above). Rest of my anus looks perfectly fine.
I should also note that: I am not sexually active. I have never had sex with someone who has a penis, nor have I done anything related to my anus. I am fully vaccinated for all STIs (that you get can vaccines for, of course). The very few partners I’ve had in the past did not have any infections. I also haven’t had sex in over a year, so it can’t be from anything recent.
As of now, my symptoms are non-existent to the point I wouldn’t know it was there if I hadn’t seen it prior. Was curious if, based on all this, I should get it checked out ASAP or just wait till the far away appointment the doctors have openings for. Thank you!

2024.05.15 18:34 Substantial_Will8329 9 Weeks Painful Constipation + Hemorrhoids

Hi all! I am about 9wks along, and even before I was pregnant I never had regular bowel movements. Now being pregnant, it's worse. I had the absolute most painful Bowel movement of my life yesterday. Strained way more than I should have. Something didn't feel right after I had finished, so I went to the urgent care to just to get confirmation I didn't prolapse my anus or something scary like that. Doc said it could be an internal hemorrhoid. I've never had that, and its a weird mental thing at this point cause it just doesn't feel right. From what I read, this is common in pregnant women who are farther along because the pressure of the baby. I'm still in the first trimester so I feel alone in this. Has anyone else experienced this? Pregnant or not?
I was told to get stool softeners, drink way more liquid, and add Metamucil to my daily supplements. (which BTW, is life changing when mixed with orange juice. Thx to the person that posted about that a week ago) anyways any other tips to help?? Thank you in advance!!

Hello! I am a 20 years old male and a few weeks ago I felt something soft sticking out of my anus whenever I poop. It's doesn't cause me any pain or anything, they doesn't even feel much uncomfortable when I'm pooping but I feel a bulge with my fingers. And now I'm getting scared that I might actually have a mucosal prolapse than a hemorrhoids. I also don't do much to resolve the thing, I only drink more water and avoided soft drinks and stuff. Also I don't see any blood in my poop.

2024.05.14 20:08 Professional_Win3910 Does this sound like hemorrhoids?

Hello,
I have been experiencing pain while sitting, itchyness after using the bathroom. When I wipe there is blood on the toilet paper. It’s not every time, but when I feel the pain during my bowl movement I almost know I will have blood on the TP. Of course when I look online, there’s two reasons, 1 is hemorrhoids and 2nd is colon cancer which is horrifying. I had a baby in late September 23. I read pregnancy could cause this too? Ugh my overactive brain goes to the worst places. Yes I will call my doctor.

However, about a week ago, it started to become very irritated for some reason ? My bowel movement are as perfect as they can be, I drink plenty of water and have been trying to change my lifestyle habits to cater to these annoying little friends of mine. I have external hemorrhoids and they prolapse when I pee, have a BM, or even just sit a certain way. But I just put it back in and never really cause any problems. As I said, a week ago, it started to become irritated as it kept protruding in the middle of my sleep, at school, at work and I had to keep putting it back up but would later come out again. Then, after a day, i noticed that it just wouldn’t stay up there and there was this pea sized lump just sticking out of my butt that’s very firm and painful to the touch. I’ve done my research and I now know that this is a thrombosed external hemorrhoid. It has been 5 days with these painful hemorrhoids w no improvement, I’ve missed my shifts and a week of school I don’t know what to do Few questions :
-how long will it take for the pain to go away
-what should I do in the meantime
Bottom line is I don’t care if it doesn’t shrink for a while, I’m just in so much pain right now that all I want is for the pain to subside at least a little bit. I went to my doctor and he was of no help at all. Please give me advice and share your experiences w thrombosed hemorrhoids.

2024.05.14 16:35 Lonely-Dorito54 Can hemorrhoids cause narrow stools?

Last summer, I started using a stool to prop my feet on while using the bathroom. I first had bleeding (one time) last fall that came after a few days of dryness and itching. This was a one-off occurrence that started when I changed the wipes I use, and went away when I stopped using them. I went back to these wipes in March temporarily, and since then my BM’s seem to be different. They are often quite narrow; not always, but often. Sometimes, there will be a bright red streak on the 💩 or when wiping. There is almost always burning or an uncomfortable sensation during and after using the bathroom. When I feel down there with my fingers, there seems to be a little bit of inflammation and swelling. I also seem to be experiencing some bloating and loss of appetite the past few weeks, which scares me.
Of course, my paranoid thoughts are telling me colon cancer so I have an appointment with my GP in a couple weeks.
Anybody experience these symptoms and only have a diagnosis of hemorrhoids?

2024.05.14 07:22 Separate_Penalty7991 I want to make a healthy diet for my mom but google says to avoid everything… help?

My mom has been on warfarin for 15 years. Her diet is pretty bad shes getting up there in age and shes put on some weight in the past year or two. She eats alot of fried and greasy foods. I want to get her eating fruits and vegetables but everything I google says it could have an interaction with her warfarin. What do I do? Her diet is basically meat pies, fatty greasy meats, lots of red meat, potatos and sauces/dairy (a typical balkan diet). She doesnt get much fiber in her diet which causes her to have very few stools. I really dont know what to do because I have read do not drastically change diet but I feel like she really needs a diet change I am worried the weight gain could give her a heart attack or something bad like that. What would you advise?

2024.05.14 01:20 Adorable_Protection3 urinary issues since summer 2022

hi! im a (now) 20 y.o young man. this is a throwaway account for reasons you’ll easily understand later down the line. started having urinary issues two years ago. for the first few months, i had what seemed like UTI symptoms - excessive need to urinate mostly, but not much else. then it stopped after taking antibiotics, and since then i have very different symptoms, and to be fair they’re not really constant, as they change basically every week. what i mean is there’s a long set of symptoms and they basically switch places every now and then, even in intensity. so, since september 2022: - weakened flow, sometimes more, sometimes less, sometimes (rarely) pure hell. - flow that abruptly stops midway through like a muscular contraption and struggling to pee after that, managing to do so with heavy struggling that almost causes me to trigger defecation stimuli. - urinary retention caused by what i described. it’s the most intense during the night: its like i cant feel and control my muscles when urinating, but right as i return to bed i start feeling heavy spasms of that same muscle that pushes the leftover urine in the urethra, and it gets stuck there. if theres much left, it leaves a permanent sting on my penis until i urinate again. i sometimes have sharp, stinging pain inside my anus (sometimes, but not always, this ache involves my pelvis too) and last, but not least, my perineum tends to hurt sometimes, often after masturbation or sexual activities, although this issue first presented itself a few years before all this, specifically when i was 17. one other thing: all of those symptoms get extremely worse after ejaculation, and take many hours (and flushing, lmao) to calm down. when i ejaculate, my urethra starts itching too. i also suffer from hemorrhoids, from time to time. and i have this permanent feeling of heavyness around my prostate that makes me massage my perineum, even without noticing. did the cultures, its all clean. not bacterial. but i’m scared. i haven’t managed to tell this to doctors, but i was abused when i was 6. or 7, its cloudy and i don’t remember clearly. rounds of many psychologists and psychiatrists after that. diagnosis: mood disorder with depressive-irritability cycle caused by possible PTSD. also OCD, ADHD. clinical depression and things like that. handicap recognized by the state with this diagnosis printed on it. this was 10 years ago, in italy. now things are changed, but then, obtaining a diagnosis like this was extremely difficult. im worried physical trauma may have caused a stricture or something like that. is it possible?

2024.05.13 23:17 BrianaNanaRama When to go to the ER, urgent care, or primary care for symptoms of anemia

Hi. I’m 28f. My medications, vitamins, and supplements are: Iron and vitamin C, Claritin, docusate sodium (which may change soon once I ask my doctor about that), albuterol neb solution. I have a whole host of diagnoses. The relevant ones that I can think of: Iron Deficiency Anemia, low blood pressure, obesity, GERD, a hiatal hernia, past damage to the lining of the stomach, internal and external hemorrhoids (the external ones often bleed), suspected heavy menstrual bleeding with many tiny blood clots in it (I haven’t actually gone to a doctor about that yet, that’s just what I think I’m seeing) and an unknown intestinal issue causing constant constipation or diarrhea (doc has confirmed something is going on re: the stool inside me, we just don’t know what it is yet).
I am also a vegetarian. Have been vegetarian for 14 years, if that matters.
What I want to know is: When should I be going to urgent care or the ER or my primary care for anemia symptoms? Especially on Fridays or Saturdays when it’ll be a few days until my primary care opens again on Monday. My symptoms have been heavier lately and I take longer lately, on average, to recover from any blood loss (even just the tiniest opening in the skin from having dry skin can sometimes have me fatigued and out of breath that day).
