Finished reading up to the current Volume of the LN and wanted to share my thoughts on the series as a whole and where I think it may go from here.
I became aware of this season when season 1 first aired through social media and decided to watch the show up until the end of the first season. After it ended, I had to know more and so I looked and found out about the light novel. I was hooked ever since.
My thoughts on the first year were pretty good because the mystery of the school, the students and the MC kept me interested and it was very refreshing having a main character not allow himself to be bullied by his friends or act like a stereotypical virgin whenever a women would talk to him.
I found the beginning to do a very good job of keeping people on their toes as even though this is based in Highschool and has a battle royale based premise, it uses different games then your typical battle royal clone and allows you to basically view how it’s played through the eyes of the protag Kiyo.
Another thing that makes Kiyo interesting is that while he does boast internally that he knows everything on a level that would surpass some of the smartest college students in Japan, he does not immediately flaunt or trivialize the games to the point where there isn't any tension with each game.
Another thing I enjoy is that though it’s a team-based Battle royale, the fact that you get to know the leader of each team and they slowly grow to know Kiyo makes it interesting and sets up potential conflicts of interest before the first year is even halfway over. Personally, I like all of the other class leaders a good bit. I enjoy Ryuuen especially because he still remains true to his nature, but he takes advice from the person who beat him using just as morally questionable tactics as him and works to fine tune those morally questionable tactics so that he doesn't get beat because he is sloppy on his approach. I enjoy Ichinose battle with her "horrible" shop lifting past as much as an American can sympathize on something most over here would consider very minor in terms of criminality. While I can't obviously say it's just fine, I also feel at times it's overblown but again I'm American and at some point, we've all pocketed a pack of gum or added an extra item to our shopping cart we didn't ring up. She is a genuinely good person which is enjoyable when the other people portrayed as rivals are just as likely to stab you in the front as well as they would in the back. While the main goal is to graduate from Class A because somehow everything you ever need in life will somehow be given to you, the thought of making sure everyone makes it to the finish line is a good goal on its own knowing how easy it is for people to be expelled. I Don't mind Arisu but truthfully up until the most recent chapters, she was honestly hard to relate to even more than Kiyo because every time she's on screen she always has a smug grin as if everything is already taken care of and no matter what, she will come out on top. while its charismatic it can kinda drive off any sense of connection. I'm happy she starts getting humbled later on, but it takes a long time.
The series threw me for a loop when they focused heavily on Horikita in the beginning only to seemingly drop her to a side character for the rest of the arc until Kiyo dealt with Ryuuen. It honestly felt like she wasn't that important anymore, so I was pleasantly surprised how she slowly made her way back into the sub-protag role throughout the rest of the 2nd year. I don't really like Horikita compared to most of the other characters, but it speaks more highly to the other characters than anything wrong with her. My reasons for disliking her a little more than the other characters maybe stem from the fact we see more of her than anyone else and could have changed if she was more of a side character than one of the main focuses of the series. I do think that she gradually gets better as a character or more dynamic would be the better way to phrase it, I still think she is very flawed or at least she is written flawed, but the story seems to make things conveniently workout in her favor whenever she desperately needs it. I will say that I find that some of my favorite characters are legitimately side characters some of which have just recently showed up or showed up and went away for a long period of time after. Case in point Tsubaki from class 1-c she is basically kiyotaka but not overpowered like he is. We get a lot of Nanase in the beginning of the second-year arc but basically after the deserted Island exam she barely shows up anymore her split personality also just goes away. Kiryuuin Is also one of my favorites and she is sparingly gets in the story but when she does, she is very interesting and I'm sad that in a few more books she'll probably complete disappear from the story. I was never high on some characters like Kei, Nagumo, Matsushita ( mostly because why isn't she revealing this secret hidden talent that she said she had in the first year) and Manabu. I know Manabu might be a hot take, but I personally feel like his whole schtick about not telling Horkitia that he does love her but wants her to do her own thing for an entire year was so stupid because he just needed to call her to the student council office and literally have the conversation at ANY point in the year why wait till the end. I'm glad that he gives Kiyo a goal or maybe project he wants to complete before he meets Monabu again but other than that he was a blander Kiyotaka.
On that note a few things that have bothered me as the story has gone on,

1. I’m not going to say anything even though I could because then people would look at me weird. And we can’t have that?
   
2. I won't reveal where you came from even though it would be the most detrimental thing, I could do to you whether people believe it or not, but I won't because I never intended to use it as a tactic no matter what. why not?
   
3. You betrayed us and kicked our friend out of the school so I'm going to dropout so we lose but I will wait for a week or so to do it because I wanted to see the festival first. huh? Why wait for something stupid like that? You're already planning on Jeopardizing your whole class but decide to wait because of a festival that theoretically doesn't matter anymore. Not only that but the fact that you don't leak what happened that caused the friend to be expelled while you waited to expel yourself, further causing an issue for them when you are gone, just doesn't make any sense at all.
   
4. Horikita has lucked into some of the most micky mouse wins I've ever seen. Like I said before the plot sometimes seems to not make sense in a real word aspect but because the other can control how 120 kids always behave you can give bad reasons for something to work out and it always will because the plot needed it to. I really truly feel like that exam where Sakura was expelled was damn good all the way up until her best friend decided not to follow through with her plans to sink the class in retaliation. There was literally nothing anyone could have done to stop her or Kushida from sinking the class once the exam was over. I truly thought it would have been checkmate for the class and maybe you shift away from class 2-D the same way it feels like Kiyo is doing now and consider it a failed experiment. I would have LOVED it if she flunked the class even though Kiyo and Horikita did everything possible to bring them close to being class A. Actions have consequences, you expelled my friend and not the traitor and making excuses that it work out if Kushida complies from that point forward. OK fine I'll screw everyone like they screwed my good friend by dropping out willingly. Could you imagine the fallout knowing you failed even if you made the right decision in that moment. Basically, halfway through the second year 1 class has officially lost the race but just like Nagumo said, it's still possible to transfer out of a class to a different one so it doesn't mean the story ends for Kiyotaka or any of the students, but that class has lost.
   
5. Koenji is literally my least liked character in the series at this point and it's strictly based off what I THINK will happen in the future. The author has done absolutely zero to give backstory to Koenji and why he is so good at everything. Zilch. At least as unreasonable as it sounds, we know why Kiyo and the other white room students are so broken. The most we know about Koenji is that he is a blonde Adonis who studied in China and for some reason just laps everyone at everything. My thoughts on this are that if and when Kiyo decides to leave the class, Horikita and by proxy (Koenji) will be the final boss.
   

I don't like 4 the most and 5 the second most because it starts to make you doubt any haymakers are coming that legitimately don't feel like an asspull anymore. I can't be engrossed in the story if I feel like Horikita is going to be the final boss. I can't be engrossed in the story if I know that Horikita is going to use Koenji to actually make it hard for Kiyo to win that final round. I can't feel engrossed if I have a feeling one of the leaders is about to be expelled or completely sidelined for some completely stupid reason so that we can get this obvious conclusion started. That's why I can stand those last two points I didn't see Kiyo allowing Kei to get beat up and tortured multiple times to further his goals or plots. I didn't foresee a not so random secret agent being planted in the school and immediately striking Kiyo while he's talking with Arisu the daughter of the man he just ousted. I didn't foresee Kiyo convincing one of his would be rivals to come back to the school because it would be a little boring if that class completely fell apart without him to lead it. I didn't foresee Kiyotaka making as many "friends" the way he has since the start of series and most of those relationships feel natural which is why it has been fun following Kiyo and the people he encounters.
Overall, I'm happy with this series and it has made me look for more LNs to fill in my time while we wait for more to come out.

Tldr; I like almost everything but the things that I dislike are becoming more prevalent in the story than in the beginning.

Ethernet has landline 1900s phones two pairs wires reserved in the spec sheet its 8 or so wires when crimping the ends uses like two with one for ground and one seemingly empty and then has two for phone and some unused, with old 10/100 baseT coax with terminating ends exactly like optical or coax 90s cable TV with optical fiber 99% of the way just your block has coax to the rest which uses the 'same'DOCSIS data over cable standards as fibre optic.. just slightly worse latency and bandwidth is calculated by latency things like wifi lan has like 11 channels or 15 channels of frequency which optical calls wavelengths of light. A 2015 or around there linus tech tips video of him going to a swedish lan party called dreamhack had a bunch of multiple redundant 8Terabit or was it bytes of fibre optic internet they explained with light having 7 colors but having 8terabytes of bandwidth with different wavelengths of light called frequencys or a better term for optics is known as LASER ARRAYS of light at fixed frequencys that often plugs into the PC via ethernet cables or whatever for a gamer lan party or home/residential or small businesses at realistically within budget of anything with enough users to require that bandwidth or 'web hosting or web servers' you dont need to be an undersea cable or international link with 200terabits plus for an internet exchange to your main CBD or the fastest like the netherlands IX...
So the problem im trying to solve is, here in australia we got our undersea cables done wrong they kept breaking and we didnt have a navy or defense force securing our countrys communications to prevent war crimes and keep us connected to the global banking systems or whatever.. and then when our biggest telcos cable or fibre all had dialup speeds for around 2 weeks in the early years 2000s to force us to pay other countrys to connect to their links and be ' end of the line' maybe paywalled or proxied off the internet randsomewared to connect to and borrow bandwidth from other countries satellites and other countries undersea link cables which truly were indestructible to any cruise liner ships anchors whatever being flexible giant steel braided cables big as a CAR when australia finally paid to lay small sections of that stuff to link up to others and not pay randsome to internet butt bandits or have private businesses and multi nationals run their own links and ignore the public our lack of a defense force actually let somalian pirates literally somehow pick up and walk off with our expensive undersea car sized cables filled with a few arms thick of hair thin fibre optics which is cheapest clear resin enamels plastics about $3 not sure if USD per kilometer and resembles modern glass/glazing. How does anybody steal that stuff without people noticing like you cant just load it onto a truck and drive away? or a boat? if only satellites and some sort of defense organization existed to prevent us from being impersonated or whatever.. So now in australia ANYTHING with words like gigabit costs a fortune for a mainboard or switch or ethernet hub.. but the ancient 1900s 10/100 telephone land line wires of ethernet 10/100 clock in at a whopping 13 or so mhz sometimes 27.. and 60 or more mhz for like gigabits and whatever it increases shockingly fast with each mhz clock cycle as its units of work over time in nano seconds or zeptoseconds you see billionths of a second nano second RAM and PC with windows realtime kernel actually uses like ryzen hardware negative latency faster than reality freely syncing with any device in the universe and fixed mhz frequency bus can drive like 50 to 100 or thousands of GPU's and HDDs and monitors or whatever from the one modern multicore PC or whatever.. 90s AMD business server still holds world records for most connected devices though it had stackable CPUs opteron and would have used infinity cache type stuff probably software 3dnow and evolving game worlds tech of 80s and 90s AMD gaming evolved advertising.
So in australia anything gigabits costs hundreds of dollars for a switch router some thousands for lots of ports.. but its the shittiest weakest bandwidth ever with mhz and performance miles short of a raspberry pie or whatever. I had to pay a fortune for a mainboard with 10gigabit LAN port and everytime i got a high speed LAN port its been broken or missing so some pricks can sell ebay routers or switches for thousands here.. not knowing why its so expensive is youre paying fortunes for any real bandwidth because australia has to pay literal somalian pirates for their internet connections or privately owned businesses like telstra for access to their private links and glares at countries like new zealand and hawaii for being super technologically superior.. a cheap USB ethernet adaptor costs under 10 bucks on ebay or whatever and is maybe gigabit and your switches and routers 90% of the time you want the cheapest UNMANAGED switch possible. Yet the mainboard i recently purchased ASUS pro art creator x670E i recall had an issue with some asshats trying to steal pathetic measly 40gigabit USB4 chips from all the boards at the computer store to sell on EBay as other junk, when anything in the universe with an M.2 ULTRA slot does 40gigabits since PCI express 3.0/4.0 as PCI express 3.0 SSD drives famously use a specific I/O controller chip which gives them 38gigabits 550MEGABYTES PER SECOND for just about every SSD in the universe minimum constant fixed performance clock frequency of operation no moving parts all day everyday always 550megabytes per second. 550MB of the ultra M.2 slots 40gigabits of bandwidth in that one slot each PCI express lane or channel has a total of.. well google it yourself for an AMD pciexpress board x270 x470 or x570 board or a threadripper gen 1 or ryzen gen 1 board and its 120 pci express lanes controller or whatever. But for a couple years when AMD had pci express 4.0 and better than M.2 ultra intel was playing catch up on PCI express 3.0 and still had regular m.2 in all their boards until AMD was ready for pci express 5.0 my friend on intel bought the same NVME drives and complained they had corruption errors or issues i later learned his board wasnt fast enough and he was maybe trying to use the samsung magician RAM disk and enable NVME features and functions intel maybe did not yet support.
So.. why is USB 4 so many years late and why is it so dang expensive when terabits of ethernet or anything optical is like the cheapest stuff ever and comes with every internet connection since the 90s at the lowest cheapest mhz and 1900s land line wire telephones ever, remember digital isnt a physical thing and everythings literally analog with a sensor or multimeter whatever mathematically translating it to a graph or algebra equation mapping it into different values digitally +10 -10 whatever using microphones or camera sensor whatever. the gigabits tax and uhh LAN port taxes for dumb gay australians being literally see it via satellite outerspace levels dumb and gay astrogaylian should not apply to the cheapest of raspberry pie free 3d print or laser CNC yourself something computery like risc V for the cheapest of USB flash drives or memory cards etc.
I get intel pretends to have invented court ordered USB to probe their hardware after it was proven to have used other peoples code and chips by the chip makers and them selling computers with keyboard and mouse hardwired in so you bought a whole new computer when a key broke on the keyboard couldnt replace them.. and every other device had USB but theirs didnt free open standard and it kinda being the only way to connect any device in the universe and freely sync with it (mics/phones whatever).
why is 1900s phone tech ethernet so dang expensive to go from 20mhz ranges to 80 or whatever mhz ranges or use something very similar to 90s optical audio SPDIF output or anything remotely like a laser in australia? and who would be dumb and gay enough to be so financially retarded as to think that USB 4 was expensive or special as to steal it? am i... missing something?
also before you complain, but ethernets not the same as USB you cant power over ethernet or use your houses electrical wires as ethernet. You also cant use ethernet for monitors or displays, and its not like you can extend HDMI range limit of a about 10 to 15 meters by swapping its ethernet wires with optical ones for it to maintain its HDMI 0 latency spec or type C USB 0 latency spec. USB lets you connect heaps of devices you cant do that with an internet or ethernet for things like keyboard and mice or monitors or whatever. I understand what you mean power over ethernet or PPOE standards suck theres no way those are a thing. using devices over the internet and not the intranet who does that? thats so dumb. remote administration, theres no such thing youre mistaking malware or rootkits im sure. you cant connect a heap of devices up or entire computers to a ethernet port thats the dumbest gayest thing i've ever heard in my entire life! My gaydar is going off and it looks like the wifi symbol.
when trying to use anything ethernet with lame awful bandwidth thats limited, on my AMD board where the website images show AMD ethernet lists as marvel yukon controller i cannot use as its maybe broken there no light on the back, in devices managers advanced tab you can see the send receive or transmit buffer sizes and countless other ethernet settings are MISSING or a blank space. and are limited to 128 on send and 256 on receive up to 4096 or whatever max. But low latency 128 or 256 is maybe best but not all are an option and most networking features on the intel LAN adapters are missing countless advanced ethernet properties and settings because they're fake and lousy and the worst latency ever and they literally seem to swap your windows kernel out with something not realtime so you cannot ever hope to record or playback audio or video or anything close to a video game in hopes of slowly selling it back to you. Linux distros did this too its the dumbest thing ever that to hear or record or playback or play games you must patch in a realtime kernel for free to game like its the 80s and 90s or DOS or whatever. most 90s PCs were CAS 1 or lower nanoseconds. DDR 3 1600mhz depending the maker might be CAS1-4 latency. How can we verify our kernels are correct? and our ethernet and I/O bandwidth is correct? the youtube video about linus tech tips dream hack lan party of gamers in sweden was edited and reuploaded by illiterate asshat buttpirates maybe from somalia or the ones randsoming us some of their internet connections as a proxy piggy back on the international links as we dont have a defense force or army or whatever and dont know what war crimes are or why they are or what the heck a bank is and sure as shit dont know the cost of anything cheap USB or LAN. Thinkcenter m720q x1 (250Go SSD or NVME don’t recall - 16gb Ram - i5-8500t)
They’re under a proxmox cluster where I host some services:

• Ubuntu VM sandbox
• W10 VM sandbox
• docker VM with Nginx Proxy Manager
• Nextcloud VM
• Vaultwarden
• MC Server (on/off)
• DDnet game server (on/off)
• Plex server
• PiHole

I’ve acquired 20x3TB HDD fully brand new sea gate exo and one ironwolf red which are 3,5” And here is where things get complicated.
I obviously can’t get those drives inside any of those tiny devices, therefore I’m kinda lost of where I should head to as my goal with those drives were to upgrade my current proxmox free Space as it keep growing and also use this space as a NAS server more like SMB over my windows PC or Nextcloud unsure yet but definitely SMB at first.
But how ? Those drives need SATA ports and alimentation.
So I went over Ultimate NAS guide on some forum and found budget Towers for that specific need the Lenovo E31 work station or some old pc with just as enough hdd cages and sata ports.

1st PC looking good and has an extra PCIE port if I wish to get maybe another NIC (SFP? 10Gbps for faster transfer ?)
2st looks okay as well I guess but lack 1 PCIE slot and weaker CPU and less RAM. But owner gives 2 monitors mouse keyboard for free.
Both at the same price tag.
But I don’t know what should I do and what to buy
As my goal as for now is to have my proxmox services running as well of SMB with those new drives .
Any advices ?

This is an edited repost of an essay I put on PurplePillDebate that was deemed too general for them. I reposted it to MensRights and they generally didn't like it. I'm genuinely fascinated by gender politics and the bizarre battle of the sexes thing that goes on in society and especially the internet.1
However, I think many (though not necessarily all) of the issues between men and women discussed online are trivial and that many of the complaints both men and women in rich countries have are exaggerated. The average man and woman in the Western world both have a similar and relatively high standard of living (by global historical reckoning) and have achieved equality under the law.² Most complaints about unfairness are overstated and there are relatively few truly sex-selective issues, rather there are issues that disproportionately impact one sex. There are probably no issues that are truly 50-50 in how they impact men and women. Ultimately, the differences are more marginal, and thus the debates should be more on the margins and not the extremes. Many important gaps can be explained by rather benign factors related to individual choices (more men end up in prison but men are much more likely to be criminals) rather than patriarchy or misandry. I would be willing to forward that there are no decisive advantages to either being a man or woman, rather there are many small advantages and disadvantages that roughly balance out. For almost any complaint one group has there is a roughly parallel complaint the other group can throw back, although they are not always morally equivalent.³ My ideal would be for feminists and MRAs to focus on creating a more fair society for everyone which means at times prioritizing women's issues and at other times prioritizing men's. This is closer to genuine egalitarianism.
This list illustrates how for every way one group struggles, there is a reasonable explanation, and/or a counter complaint from the other group. Regarding all of these facts, there are deeper subtleties and nuances. A few sentences devoted to each issue can't fully capture all of the dynamics at play.

• Men view women as sex objects. Women view men as success objects.
• Women are viewed as childish and helpless. Men are viewed as violent and buffoonish.
• Men are often overrepresented at the top of society. Men are also often overrepresented at the bottom of it.
• Women perform more (unpaid) child and elder care. Men spend more time commuting and doing paid work. Even amongst people who report working full time, men still report more hours.
• Men generally do worse in divorce court (women are more likely to initiate divorce). Men are more likely to abuse their spouse or cheat.
• Women make less money. Men sacrifice more for the sake of earnings. Women also benefit more from welfare and transfers while they pay less in taxes.
• Men have higher death rates than women at all stages of life (this starts at birth). Some of this can be explained by self-destructive male behavior and women making somewhat better healthcare choices and utilizing the healthcare system more.
• Women are doing much better than men across almost all aspects of education from kindergarten to post graduate school. Men still tend to do better in private sector business especially at high levels.
• Men still hold most politcal offices. Women are more likely to be registered to vote in the USA (about 7-10 million more women are currently registered). Women also constitute a majority of civilian government workers.
• Men complain about being single and sexless. Women complain about a lack of datable men and the orgasm gap. There is even an entire Wikipedia article on it.

There are some caveats. My general views are really only applicable to the Western world and maybe some non-Western developed and OECD nations. There are some places where being a feminist is something I would support. I do think that at present men in the Western world have a slightly lower standard of living on average than women, at least by certain measures.⁵ I think male issues are taken less seriously and that generally speaking society has an innate pro-female bias that existed prior to and independent of the feminist movement (which has compounded it) and this results in much of our mainstream discourse focusing on women's issues. We simply spend more time focusing on unfairness towards women. I think that mainstream narratives have thus made it more difficult to discuss male issues let alone generate concrete solutions for them.⁴ I'm unsure if men have an equivalent advantage. This does not mean there aren't a few areas where women have it worse but if women just one key advantage I do think this is it.
Also, there are some women's issues that are the result of biology that have no male equivalents such as

• Menopause
• Menstruation
• The risk of getting pregnant from unprotected sex
• Permanent damage from pregnancy/childbirth

So, as it happens. I see men and women in the Western world as having it pretty good. Neither has a decisive edge over the other and both groups are politically empowered. The majority of issues that are discussed and debated are social and cultural issues not directly related to politics or law (I make exception for things like debates on the legality and ethics of circumcision, abortion, and medical autonomy). I worry about a growing gap between the sexes (that might be exaggerated) as both male and female happiness declines and would encourage more empathetic discussion that revolves around fairness and not self-pity narratives where one group has to feel hopelessly victimized in a never ending victim Olympics.

1. My post here is partially influenced by the book Don't Be a Feminist: Essays on Genuine Justice by economist Bryan Caplan. He does not argue that one should be an anti-feminist. I am not arguing that people should become MRAs or anti-feminists. I'm actually somewhat more favorable to the historical feminist movement than he is.
2. Some of this is contingent on your views towards bodily autonomy and how you feel about abortion rights for women and the conscription of men (and in some rare instances for women). On other platforms the most common negative responce from women is the claim that unless some certain threshold for abortion access is achieved they aren't really politcal equals with men.
3. Men complain that women "don't approach" and that men often go ignored in the dating market and that women have lots of options. The female parallel would be too much unwanted attention. Being lonely isn't good but I don't see it as morally equivalent to too many "romantic" advances that are just sexual harassment.
4. Hyperbolic narratives about how men "dominate" society or are always privileged relative to women are very counterproductive because they make it seem unfair to ever consider male issues. Women came out slightly better off. I used yearly income instead of GDP per capita which the UN does because I think it's a better proxy for individual living standards. If you use GDP per capita the gap actually narrows with men doing a bit better. A common complaint from men I get on this is that I'm too pro-woman and don't "get" just how awful being a man is and how massively privileged women are. Olá gente, veio nesse ano agora migrado do windows para linux. Antes utilizava como acho que a maioria faz dual boot, no meu caso no meu notebook fraco da semp Toshiba da AMD radeon graphics 8210, E1-2100 de 4 ram.
Uma breve contextualização Onde tinha windows 8.1, que no meu caso funcionava melhor do que windows 10. Então ficava no 8.1, utilizando aqueles programas pra ativar o Windows, por isso eu não sentia segurança meio que tava na beira e podia acontecer algo. Mas eu consegui jogar alguns jogos, de 2000 a 2010 nesse caso, alguns nem tanto. Mas Gta San Andreas, Portal 1 e 2, Saint Row(No médio), não lembro agora mas é entre 2 ou 3, Fallout 3 e New Vegas, Katana Zero, por incrível que parece Assassin's Creed Rogue.
Mas tenham noção que edição de vídeo não. Teve uma vez que eu consegui fazer um sempre(Graça ao tipo no caso que video legenda de música mas dando uns gargalo com a proxy da proxy no shotcut).
E nesse tempo eu usava dual boot com linux mint na época que eu brincava de front end, nisso com tempo deu um pau no grub e não consegui mais acessar o windows, só consegui acessar a partição pelo o mint. Então me habituei ao linux pra não ter que perder as coisas. Com isso eu queria mexer em alguns programas do Linux e um deles era oq eu estudava com uma menina que eu tava afim que era astrologia védica, jannatha hora que só tem windows, fui usar o playonlinux e funcionou. Só aí eu queria usar pelo menos um katana zero, com isso tentei baixar e usar tanto playonlinux e lutris mas não funcionou direito. E nesse tempo o mint começou a dar pau. E nisso fui testar outras distros mas o debian deu pau no grub e travava, testei pop-os mas não era compatível com meu note pois não era tão superior pra a distro, testei manjaro, fedora mas não pegaram, zorin travava demais, aí testei xubuntu, lubuntu, puppy mas pra mim estava com o desempenho inferior do mint, pois dava bastante gargalos e a tela escurecia. Com isso achei alguns vídeos e achei o EndeavourOS que é em base Arch linux e foi o que teve mais desempenho em assistir as coisas e programas funcionarem no playlinux. Consegui de certa forma jogar portal 2 da steam nele, no médium, com cuidado pra não ter nada aberto se não travava tudo e eu não conseguia sair da tela e ia que desligar no botão do notebook.
Com isso com passar do tempo as vezes travava o sistema ao ponto não conseguir nem abrir terminal pra fazer comando xkill e apertar no programa pra mata-lo.
No windows vc vai clicando o mouse no programa travado e aí o windows por si fecha ele pra vc ou pede vc fechar ou não. Tem algo tipo socorro no linux quando o sistema trava tudo? Um comando ou alguma coisa quando trava? Do que vi no EndeavourOS alt-4 fecha o programa. Mas não sei oq fazer quando o sistema trava, pois passou um tempo travava muito e eu desligava no botão do note e deu que o sistema trava por si só depois de um tempo. Aí testei Drauger OS, mas tinha menos desempenho do que EndeavourOS, aí voltei de novo e reinstalei e ficou tudo ok.
Mas aí eu testei todos os protons pois eu consegui comprar o fallout 3 e new vegas na steam na promoção, mas só o Proton 4.2 que teve um desempenho bom na tela de menu pois não travava tanto. Mas na gameplay era 10, 9 fps.
Com isso eu fiquei curioso em vir aqui comentar sobre isso na época, mas fiquei tão curioso que instalei o Windows 10, linux mint e DraugerOs de novo só para testar desempenho desses jogos mas deu a mesma coisa deu no Endereço, e testei no Windows os fallout e todos eles pegaram numa boa, liso, diferente do EndeavourOS e dos linux que testei (Drauger, linux mint).
Afinal há algo que se pode fazer pra ter mais desempenho no sistema, nos jogos no linux?
Pois do que vejo acho realmente vou deixar um dual boot do EndeavourOS e Windows seja 8.1 ou 10(Senti um desempenho melhor agora na última versão)
Ps: O único jogo que roda de boas no linux pra mim é portal 2, no baixo e lisinho é Doki Doki

Description of Original Problem: No GPU HDMi output when booting into Ubuntu 24.04. I have a GPU output when I use my on-board HDMi output from the motherboard but the screen stays black when I use the HDMi output from my GPU.
Troubleshooting: I've tried looking for proprietary drivers during the initial Ubuntu setup as well as the regular sudo apt update && upgrade.
The GPU is recognized from neofetch as a AMD ATI Radeon RX 7900 XT/7900 and it also shows up when I do sudo lshw -c video:

Description of Original Problem: No GPU HDMi output when booting into Ubuntu 24.04. I have a GPU output when I use my on-board HDMi output from the motherboard but the screen stays black when I use the HDMi output from my GPU.
Troubleshooting: I've tried looking for proprietary drivers during the initial Ubuntu setup as well as the regular sudo apt update && upgrade.
The GPU is recognized from neofetch as a AMD ATI Radeon RX 7900 XT/7900 and it also shows up when I do sudo lshw -c video:

Not terribly long ago I was ridiculed for suggesting $SNAP calls could make you money even though my approach was to exit prior to ER. I can’t be right twice, so here goes nothing….
Securing $DIS puts first thing Monday to me is an absolute low risk effort to not only scalp some nice gains but also achieve those baggers y’all like instead of being bagholders.
I already missed out on scoring these on the cheap early April as I was too busy being a regard elsewhere. Luckily the IV on contracts expiring 5/10 (after ER mind you) are still quite low and I expect IV to throttle up to 150% or more by this time next week.
While the mouse ears is great at screwing bears over, my sound bullet proof reasoning is below:

• they just secured a proxy “victory” which is anything but to me. It shows blood in the water and hostility, not to mention doubt that their current leadership can actually power through and make them the blue chip they once were.
  
• they have had an awful run at the box office lately. While I think the FUTURE releases of movies bodes well for them longer term, I see this as a very reasonable and logical place for Wall Street to knock them down a rung without giving too much value into forward movie guidance.
  
• Bob Iger is a gap filler IMO. I don’t know how any long term shareholder of this company for the last 5 years could be excited compared to the rest of the market.
  
• they throttled way up last earnings. In line with other stocks it seems like a balance of once blessed and once cursed, which will happen when they enter ER.
  
• IV will continue to increase leading up to earnings, which will help all contracts in value.
  
• I expect this week to be a red week and not pushing 52W H, so I would like to see DIS move to $105 by EOW ideally. Oh yeah FOMC this week too!
  

The play:
$105p 5/10 exp. Available for a cool $1 or so with great opportunity to not only be ITM prior to earnings but also along with the kick in IV to see a nice 60-200% increase in value without even playing the ER call.
My position: will comment Monday AM when I secure position.
My exit: if I double by EOW I will sell at least half and let the rest ride.
Prediction: $DIS to $93 by 5/10, probably 5/9. If my prediction is correct, it will make those $105 puts be worth well more than 10x what they are now.

Summary: If you have an nvidia card and use KDE on Fedora, you should hold off upgrading to Fedora 40.
Details: I have an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X with an nvidia EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 video card. I have been running various versions of Fedora on this system since 2021, and used this card in Fedora on an older system since 2019, mostly using the nvidia proprietary drivers, but have switched completely to noveau over the past year. I am also a KDE user, and have enjoyed a trouble-free and quite satisfactory experience for my uses cases (programming, video editing). I am not a gamer.
My upgrade to Fedora 40 has very disappointing to put it mildly. Plasma 6 is unusable on either Wayland or X and there appears to be no way to downgrade to Plasma 5. Here is a summary of my experience.
*) The upgrade itself went smoothly with no warnings or problems.
*) After the upgrade, the system rebooted. I selected Plasma 6 on Wayland. The thing started up as an unusable mess. Menus were disabled, fonts were jagged, none of the GUI applications would start.
*) I tried to use Plasma 6 on X11 by installing plasma-workspace-x11 kwin-x11. After reboot and restart, the Plasma was as unusable, except the errors were different. Now I got the following error showing up with any potential mouse click: "file:///usshare/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.kickoff/contents/ui/main.qml:20:1: Cannot load library /uslib64/qt6/qml/org/kde/plasma/private/kickelibkickerplugin.so: /uslib64/libKF6KIOFileWidgets.so.6: undefined symbol: _ZN32KCategorizedSortFilterProxyModel16staticMetaObjectE"
*) Figuring that the problem might be due to the noveau drivers, I installed the proprietary nvidia drivers from rpmfusion, blacklisted the noveau drivers and tried to start... only to find that the nvidia drivers do not work on Fedora 40! I cannot get them to start, the system just boots into a blank screen with a flashing _ on the top left corner. I had to finally stop the boot at the EFI prompt and put the system into manual mode to proceed further.
*) I went back to noveau and figured I'd try Gnome a chance. The experience here was much better. Gnome on Wayland seems to be functionally complete for my use cases. However, the performance is `stuttery'. Video playback in particular was bad with the audio/video falling out of sync often. And trying to fast forward or jump to other locations on a video results in freezes.
*) Finally tried Gnome on X/nouveau. This appears to work well, but Gnome is a really constrained and limited environment compared to KDE and I find myself being frustrated and infuriated. No way I can just subsist in Gnome.
*) Spent a lot of time last night researching whether it was possible to downgrade to Plasma 5 on Fedora 40. The answer appears to be no.
In conclusion: I am very leery of all the glowing reviews and videos all over the internet praising Fedora 40, and am disappointed that the KDE Plasma team released 6.0 with seemingly such poor quality control on nvidia, especially when Plasma 5 worked so well. If you are an nvidia user, do not upgrade at this time until the bugs have been worked out.

So I was playing normally with this modpack for more than months and stopped for a week or so because I got busy, today I decided to enter again to play a little but it simply doesn't load and it keeps crashing, what could be the reason of that since that last week it was working perfectly fine?

[Deep into the night, you sit with a lantern, Xayd’s old journal, and a sneaking suspicion from his earlier words]
[PX] I believe I’m going to retire for the evening, but you come to bed when you’re ready. And don’t wander too far… No father than that cavern, alright? You never know when enemies might be watching…
[SFX: Pages flipping]
[PX] OK, here begins my observations about the weird cave we found. Aremis broke some and now he wants me to jot down notes because HE’S an idiot that doesn’t understand the scientific method! Whatever… Hopefully, they’ll prove useful…
[SFX: More pages flipping]
[PX] I’ve found there are seven colors, and two neutrals in this strange cavern, that coalesce around a bottomless, obsidian pool. Each seems to have some meaning… Some strength and, simultaneously, a drawback… but the power… oh, the POWER…
[SFX: Uncertain page turns]
[His past self lays the secrets out before you, each not scribbled in excitement, to the point where you can see where the quill broke the paper]
[PX] “The first I found was red, of course. My favorite color. When I made to grasp it as a little boy, a great sense of determination and power thrummed through my form, as though a god had chosen me! I sped out after Seref and grabbed him by the neck after he’d hit me… He was scared… I dropped him, and the crystal, when I realized I was shaking with aggression… Red: Avoid?”
[Pause…]
[PX] Purple is rather intriguing. I tried it a few weeks after my last endeavor, once the… ahem… nightmares… let up. I was filled with most noble intentions, and a clear mind, though it seems the double-edged sword is arrogance… But is it really arrogance if I truly am the best?
[Pause…]
[SFX: More page turning]
[PX] Green, this time… I appear to have twisted into some kind of nature-heavy creature which is… odd, for a dragon… The trees and flowers listened, even the bees! But… it appears, much like nature itself, the drawback is being temperamental and prone to causing disaster. Let’s keep green as a ‘maybe’
[SFX: More pages turned]
[PX] I fucked up. I tried blue. It made me far more intelligent, but my emotional capacity became as cold as an insect’s. I watched a man be beheaded for a crime earlier and, where I might feel a twinge of sympathy, I felt nothing… I don’t like this one. It makes me see Her. The Demon…
[SFX: A pendulum of whispers / dead leaves sweeping across the cavern and pool]
[. . . ]
[You reckon this is about when he got his moniker of the ‘Mad Drake’... but press onward]
[PX] I have to hurry. She knows what I’m doing now. She’s warned me once, and I know I won’t get another chance. I MUST hurry! Orange, AVOID AT ALL COSTS! DO NOT TOUCH THE ORANGE ONE! Gold, the strain of heroes, at the cost of pride! Silver, the strain of strategists, and the Arcane - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I’ll never be able to seal the damned demon away! That just leaves white and black… Just those two, but what do they do?! WHAT ARE THEY FOR?!
[. . . ]
[SFX: Distant echoes of his madness form around you. Whatever ‘Demon’ haunted him then, you can see their dead blue eyes staring at you from every fractal of the cavern, even from the pool]
[PX] I don’t understand… the white and black do nothing… And I know the Demon is upon me. I don’t know what She is, I can’t understand her words. Each hits like shrapnel, making my body physically recoil. The fear I feel for her reminds me of when Seref burned my wing and I fell into the sea with a particularly angry Livyatan. Those cold eyes in the deep… that massive form rushing me, hundreds of feet long! Nothing… Nothing compared to the Demon from the Place of Shadow…
[SFX: More whispers… You are not alone in the cavern]
[PX] Aremis… He tried it, but I can’t… I cannot believe he tried to Fae-trap the demon… She’s so angry now… Why did he think she’d help him, just because she hates me?! WHY?! HE’S DOOMED US ALL!
[. . .]
[SFX: The whispers build into a crescendo
[PX] THE DEMON IS COMING, THE DEMON IS COMING, THE DEMON IS COMING, THE DEMON IS-!
[...and that is where it ends, the rest pitifully singed to a crisp]
[Pause…]
[SFX: Millions and millions of small whispers building into one terrible voice]
[As you stand in the prismatic prison, a terrible voice lances quietly through you:]
[C] Why are you here?
[Pause?!]
[Its voice sweeps across your senses like dead leaves on a cold, Autumn day, monotone and barely human]
[C] You idiots never learn, do you…
[SFX: The Listener summoning their magic]
[You prepare to fight, the crystals humming ominously around you. The Blue-Eyed Shadow stares you down, and you feel like a mouse before a sea monster]
[C] You want to fight me now? Why is that everyone’s response on this planet… First that gods’ damned umbral dragon who couldn’t figure out what the white and black crystals do, and now this.
[It sweeps its hand in a small gesture, and the crystals outright sing at you, like a small orchestra trapped in an ominous maze]
[SFX: The crystals singing in a Baroque-like chant briefly]
[You fall back from that simple gesture, and it stands above you, like an ink painting someone tried to erase]
[C] Leave this place. Bury it, and never return. You aren’t ready for this.
[Pause!]
[SFX: Xayd hurrying in]
[X] “Songbird! Here you are! What on Earth are you doing out in the cavern by yourself… so… oh no.”
[SFX: Cy manifesting - A very Eldritch blur of static, cawing crows, and mild techno vibes, if you can manage]
[Something akin to a shadow demon manifests before you, entirely indiscernible save for a pair of burning, pale blue eyes]
[C] YOU.
[X, a bit sheepish] “Cy-reina, darling~!”
[Cyreina, apparently, gives him a look that makes your lungs wither inward]
[C] “I’m going to find Uncle Raven when he’s sleeping and make him experience another thousand years of nightmares involving crying infants…”
[X] “To be fair-”.
[C] “Stop talking.”
[You look between the two, mildly amused the Mad Drake is so eager to obey, for once]
[C] “You’re lucky you got away with your life, you purple-hued FUCK. I hit you with a fraction of the power of your damned sun, and you STILL think you can crawl in front of me, talking like we’re old pals! The best of chums! You nearly ended the world, you dilettante!”
[Xayd lets out a dramatically wounded gasp and you pat his arm]
[Note: Dilettante is unironically one of the harshest insults one can deliver while sounding fancy, which is extra funny because Cy talks like a very monotone thug XD]
[Pause…]
[C] “Oh, it was YOUR idea this time! Great! GOOD. I love being ripped from my dimension by such weird-looking fuckers that don’t respect my time or station!”
[Xayd leans down to you, whispering as she rants:]
[X] “Cy is the God of Finality in her dimension… but, here, I think she might stand for something different… And look different, as well…”
[C] “I have big ears. I can hear you, you lilac-looking-”.
[X, saccharine] “Oh, do forgive me. I never meant to be rude to you, Lord Cyreina, I promise, and you do have my utmost apologies for messing with your domain beforehand. I do hope you understand that the slavery and torture have been matters of great concern for me while I was imprisoned…”
[The god shoots him another withering look]
[C] “...Are you seriously trying to manipulate me?”

[Xayd tenses as you speak to the shadow demon]

[Pause…]
[You’re not sure why, but you find yourself spilling it all to this interdimensional monstrosity. The pain, the starvation, the slavery, the constant fear of being done in by sheer proxy of their weaker biology… until all that’s left is the hum of the crystal]
[X, uncertain] “Laying it all bare before a Fae is… an interesting choice, my love.”
[C, exasperated] “I’m not a Fae. I’m not even from the same dimension as the fucking Fae, nor am I an exhausting, riddle-loving liar who gets off on messing with people.”
[Pause…?]
[C] “No. I don’t make deals. Alain makes deals on my behalf if I can be bothered. What I do is run around all day trying to clean up this stupid Mistborn mess, which is what I need to be doing now before you fuck it up even harder than you already have.”
[X] “Well… I do sincerely, humbly apologize for adding to your strife… We’re not trying to make things harder, just… We’re trying to make them right…”
[Pause?]
[Xayd sighs, looking away with a deep sense of shame]
[X] “...However poorly you think of me and my kind, Cyreina, my Songbird has done nothing wrong… They see a future in which they are no longer subject to our wrath. That is all. It was my hope that a proper Songbird could handle the crystal and use it to take back the power that was taken from them.”
[Pause…]
[The shadow shoots you both another look but seems to at least be considering your words]
[X, uncertain] “...If there is to be a deal, I will pay for it. The responsibility falls on my head.”
[C] “... I’m listening.”
[SFX: Fade out on the crystals humming ominously]
