Keep in mind, I’m just finding out now the main issue with ACS is Yasuke? What is the problem? Do people not know who he is? Let’s point out the obvious that AC hasn’t been close with historical events in their games.
I’m not understanding the issue about Yasuke. Before all this nonsense and when the trailer released. I did not look up any rumors or anything about this game. Just wanted to be surprised. After I watched the trailer for ACS, my reaction was in shock and hyped at the same time. Mainly about Yusake being the 2nd main protagonist. Not only to point out the fact you get to play either a Shinobi or a Samurai. Which is pretty cool. Getting to do some awesome stealth mission or playing generally as a heavy hitter 💥.
I’ve known the story about Yusake for a while now. With Japanese history which I’ve actually learned in my time in college (on short quick chapter nothing crazy). The thing is, I know that there’s not actually a proper story or origin about him. At least I’m aware of. Other than making the character more popular with him being the first black samurai. Understand there are both sides to this that he was or wasn’t. Apparently there is comics and Mangas about him. Also, he’s was in another game before and I even watched the Netflix series that came out in 2021. For some the series did not do great but thought it was pretty good. Lastly, I did not expect Yasuke to be in AC game. I’m actually happy about this, but just hoping the game is good as we all know Ubisoft has been lacking with some Assassins Creed or most of their games.
Right now, I just think this is just madness over a game. I’ve been an Assassin’s Creed fan for a while ever since the first game. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Played every single AC so far, except Odyssey and Origins. I will play Assassin‘s Creed shadows when it releases. Just waiting for gameplay before I pre-order. Tbh gonna play the game either way.

I'm on level 35! I learned from this sub that my first mistake was buying a bunch of community buildings. I never get glass, so I've just been sitting with six unfinished projects. The trains are now coming every 4 to 5 hours, and they never have what I need. I'm starting to get airplanes that are asking for goods that I don't even have the factories built for. For instance, last night it wanted 12 plastic bottles, and it gave me 14 hours to fill the order, but my plastic factory had 27 hours left. I was able to reduce the time on one train, but now I can't get gold to upgrade the others.
Here's my second problem: My barn is always full. My fields are always full of things ready to harvest. Half of my factories are sitting quiet because I have too much of whatever they produce. However, my trains, helicopters, and planes always want something I don't have. So while my barn and fields sit full, I'm having to buy what I need from the marketplace hoping to get glass or paint to upgrade my barn.
Is this just the nature of the game? Is this just them trying to get me to pay money for T-Bucks? About once or twice a week I'll buy the piggy bank, but there's no way I'm spending $10 to finish imaginary buildings, lol.
This game is a lot of fun, but it's suddenly become dramatically less fun.

I (21/f) am currently been seeing someone for about a month (22/m). I was single for about a year and i thought to be in a healthier headspace. However, it’s proving to not be so true. We bonded over playing video games and tv shows and I thought we were heading in a good direction. Life happens, people get busy and I noticed that the effort for about a week was heavily done by me. So, my friend started talking to this guy a month ago and things are a bit messed up. Let's call her A, the guy M and her best friend P.
She started talking to this guy M, he's from a neighbouring country, the same age. She's a really really sweet girl, but, she's a bit too naive. She'll trust you completely if you start talking. She has many online friends but M was the closest.
I never liked M, he was really weird and rude (and corny too). And she, never complained about it even though he'd say a lot weird stuff to her, fight with her, she'd apologise. We tried stopping her from talking to him but she didn't. P is really close to A, and she also talks to the same guy M.
So the scene is, that my friend A and the guy M had a fight, over a petty small issue. Nothing too big, but the thing was A didn't apologise. We didn't let her. Bc it was not at all her fault, M ditched her at times, then he's complain to her how she “uses” him bc she opened up about her trauma to him. Btw M himself asked her to share, he'd always try asking her and since they were good friends she did share.
M started becoming pathetic. P approached M since P is my friend's really close best friend.
M - the guy had a crsh on P, but she rejected him too. Things were heated up, so we finally got M blocked and things were completely fine for a week. M messaged P, backbitching about A btw.
Today, he put on many stories. Revealing both the girls photos and videos WO CONSENT ON HIS PUBLIC ACCOUNT. Now here's the real talk.
Most are videos of chat bw him and his some other friend (she's a fcking btch). So, firstly in their chat they share photos of P and he screenshotted from their highlights. They started laughing at P's face, then starting talking about how A was built like a brick wall.

They've posted the girl photos wo their consent in all their stories, then M has the audacity to say

I’ve searched this subreddit and others for what people are saying I’m surprised how little Scanlon is discussed. Now I know everything about him is all rumors, but that has never stopped people on the internet from discussing them.
In my opinion, he is the most intriguing part of this mystery and I’d like to start a discussion to share theories and ideas. And of course this is totally just theories. I would not want anyone to jump to conclusions, make accusations, harass or anyway bother these people. But there’s nothing wrong with discussing theories and sharing information. After all a man is dead, an innocent women is possibly on trial, and there’s possible massive government misconduct.
So I’ll start with what I know. And I’ll admit most of this is coming from Reading Turtleboy and Sean McDonough.
Stephen Scanlon is from Boston(south Boston I believe). He has know Brian Albert for 20 plus years- this is a fact. There are many pictures of them together. He also has a boxing background and i believe he was on the Boston police department boxing team with Brian Albert(who knew that was even a thing).
Scanlon worked for Suffolk county sheriff for sure together with Brian Albert. He also worked for Worcester county. There’s a story where he found the body of a missing child based on tip he got from a prisoner. Interestingly he got in trouble for not following correct procedure and notifying appropriate people. He just went out with his partner to search based on the tip and found him. I don’t care to find the article and link right now but this is 100% fact.
I believe he also may have worked for or with the FBI in some capacity and I would assume BPD if he was on the boxing team. He is now a private investigator. Others have said he has a somewhat controversial record and I don’t disagree based on what I read about that missing child case. I don’t think he was involved or anything, just didn’t do his investigation by the books.
Please don’t contact him or harass him, but he is public on Facebook. It appears he lives in Waltham now and I assume he’s in his 50s to early 60s.
So onto his involvement with the Karen read case. Its been reported that in the 2-3 days following Karen Read being charged, so like early Feb ‘22. He visited Read’s lawyer Yanetti to tell him he believed John was actually killed in a fight inside Brian Alberts home. This is the tip that started this entire conspiracy theory. However I cannot find any official documents that confirm this. Just Turtleboy and other internet people.
Now onto the total rumors. Scanlon specifically implicated Colin Alberts, Brian Alberts, and Brian Higgins. He was killed in a fight in the house/basement. There was a lot of blood. He may have initially been knocked out, then woke up and was vomiting and convulsing. They dumped his body outside.
Now how does Scanlon now all this? People are saying he has a daughter who went to Canton High and is friends with some of the girls in the house that night. So presumably an eye witness in the house told Scanlon’s daughter who then told him.
So who is Scanlons daughter? I’m sure some internet sleuths can find out. Who could she be friends with in the house that told her? Doubt it was Julie Nagel. Maybe Sarah Levinson? Levinson of course denied witnessing anything in court, but doesn’t totally rule her out. Or could there have been other witnesses in the house that are still being hidden. Either way if one person heard it from an eye witnesses, I find it impossible that there aren’t more people who have at least heard it second hand. Will we hear from anybody about this during the trial? I doubt it for some reason.
But anyway, all of this is unconfirmed rumors and could be totally nothing. Interested to hear from anybody else about their theories. Or specifically if there’s any more evidence that this conversation between Yanetti and Scanlon even took place. Would also be interested to hear anything about Steve Scanlon and his career in law enforcement. He is a fascinating and mysterious character in all this.

I’m a 29 year old male, live at home and I’m a residential care worker for young people. The job on the whole is fairly good, more pros and cons but the pros aren’t good enough to keep me here long term. Shifts’s are 9am-11pm usually but you’re at the behest of the young people whether you go bed at 11 or you’re up to 5am dealing with their shenanigans. You’re ’days off’ are also a bit iffy because if you sleep in that night you have to wake up and do 2-3 hours work until you leave for home. Sometimes you’re shattered and go home and sleep and your ‘day off’ is practically ruined.
I come out with 2000,-2400 a month after tax if I get in a decent number of sleeps and maybe take one or two extra shifts a month (top end).
Sleeping away from home so regularly takes its tole. Quite frankly I’ve got lucky with the young people in my house who I have a good relationship with and their behaviours are on the low end typically. But that can change whenever a young person moves and a new one comes in.
I just know the job isn’t for me long term and I want more money (don’t we all). When I move out I need to be on 2600-3000 a month to be even close to comfortable.
Is there anything anyone can think of that maybe I have transferable skills for? Hybrid work really interests me, so does a 4 day work week.

I think many on this sub are aware that many build websites and content creators caught on the coattails of BG3's success and quickly threw together some builds of questionable quality. Many of those websites improved their BG3 builds over time, and while they may have once been questionable they are now decent or even good. Alcast Builds do not follow this trend. In this post I will go through the first 6 of 12 builds in his "Best Builds Database" and point out the points I find that are just plain wrong. It is very clear that they have abandoned updating this page, as they still have not selected their best companion builds. But when you Google "BG3 Builds" they are one of the top results so I still think this post is worth calling out their shotty work.
I take no issue with the fact he does not multiclass. Multiclassing can seem an intimidating hurdle for new players. I can see a lot of value in detailed, single class build discussions for those players who do not want to dabble into multiclassing. But his single class builds are not worth recommending. I am not getting into things like whether his builds cheese elixirs or not, nor am I getting into things like whether Resilient Con is better than War Caster, or whether you should take sharpshooter at level 4 or a later level. I am not going to assume that there are other party members in the group who could cover the bases he is trying to cover, so for example if he recommends a character take the blade ward cantrip then I will not assume there is some mass healing word cleric with whispering promise ring and hellrider's pride gloves, nor will I criticize the usefulness of a full caster character devoting their concentration to blade ward. I am only going to point out the things that any person with common sense would say are undeniably wrong.

Moon Druid Build

1. Ability scores - This build starts with all even ability scores except for Wisdom, which starts at 17. It then takes ASIs in Wisdom at levels 4 and 8, saying to then put the spare point in Constitution. Alcast's lack of awareness that odd ability scores don't help you is something that will come up in many future builds. For those not aware, this build would be better by just starting with 16 Wis. The extra point in Wis here does absolutely nothing except take away two points that could be put elsewhere in character creation. If he intended for you to take a half feat or use Ethel's hair then maybe he is on to something. But that is not the case. This is D&D Character Building basics for the last 2 decades, and he is wrong.
2. Starting cantrips - They recommend shillelagh and thorn whip to start out. These are two cantrips that kinda fill the same roll; short range damage. This is also something that your whole wildshaping moon druid identity already fills. No mention of a ranged cantrip or one of the best cantrips in the game - guidance.
3. Spell Sniper - At level 12 he recommends taking spell sniper. The only spell in the entire writeup that uses an attack roll is thorn whip. That is the only spell that he took the time to recommend that will get a benefit from this feat. Alternatively he recommends putting 2 points in Con if you are struggling to maintain concentration. This will increase your con modifier by 1 and HP by 12. But because at this stage in the build you actually have an odd numbered Con score you could instead take Resilient: Constitution, which will also increase your con modifier by 1, HP by 12, and give you proficiency in Con saves giving you an additional +4 to all those concentration checks as well as any other Constitution Saving Throws.
4. Not mentioning tavern brawler - I am hesitant to bring this up because I hate tavern brawler. It is overpowered and dominated discussion on this sub for too long. I am also hesitant to bring this up because at the time Alcast wrote this guide tavern brawler did not work with wild shape (it still sorta doesn't in honor mode). But fact of the matter is this is one of the best possible feats for a moon druid and it is never mentioned. A top Google result should be better than that.

Lore Bard Build

1. Ability scores - Let the horror begin. This build starts with 4 odd numbered ability scores. Anyone who understands build basics will probably discard anything this entire website has to say as a result of this one sentence. This is insane. At level 4 he says to put +2 in Cha, bringing it up to 18 or 19 "depending on which race you choose." Priority #1 should be getting even numbered ability scores here. But second, races have had flexible ability scores since launch. Your race does not matter for this discussion.
   1. I disagree very strongly with a lot of the race recommendations, recommended gear, the spell sniper feat, and the level 10 magical secrets spells. But his recommendations are not outright flawed or bad. Just leaving this build at one bullet point would make it seem like I don't have much else to criticize. I have a lot of things to criticize and think his straight lore bard build could be a lot better. But it is not undeniably, flat-out incorrect in so many areas as his other builds.

Hunter Ranger Build

1. Wood Half Elf recommendation - He says that wood half elf is basically the same as wood elf but slower. This is wrong. Wood half elf is not slower than wood elf. Also wood elf gets perception proficiency whereas wood half elf does not. Wood elf is mildly better for this build, but not at all for the reason he states.
2. Ability scores - Same issues we've seen before. Starting with 17 in your main stat and not giving a damn about even numbers
3. Natural Explorer - Throughout this guide he discounts the benefits of the damage resistance options granted by natural explorer. Poison and fire damage are rather common in this game, and his dismissiveness of these damage resistances makes no sense.

Shadow Monk Build

1. Strength 10 recommendation - The reason he says not to lower Str below 10 is because this will make it easier for you to be shoved. This is a Dex based build where he recommends proficiency in acrobatics. It will use acrobatics to resist being shoved.
2. Ability scores and feats - This one is a little different. He once again recommends 17 in your main stat. Through sheer dumb luck he happens to recommend taking the Athlete feat at level 4, bringing Dex to 18! I do question the usefulness of the athlete feat on this build but hey, we got to all even ability scores. Then at level 8 he recommends Mobile which is kinda overkill in my opinion on an unarmored monk, but zooming around the battlefield can be fun. So here we are, approaching level 12 with all even ability scores. There is no way he can mess this up, right? Well this is where he recommends putting a +1 into Dex and a +1 into Wis. An absolute total and complete waste. Alcast shared this build on this sub, I pointed out that this was utterly pointless in a comment months and months ago. The issue still persists.
3. The Mighty Cloth - He recommends the mighty cloth in his early game build recommendations. The graceful cloth can be obtained earlier and is outright better by leagues and miles for a Dex based monk. Note: I am not going to hold against him the lack of mentioning tavern brawler. The feat's benefits are limited on a Dex based monk like this. Until he mentions the gauntlets of giant strength in his end game build recommendations, it never makes sense to take this feat on this build.

Great Old One Warlock

1. Race recommendations - I have scratched my head at some of the race recommendations before. This is the one where I finally figured out what is going on. Alcast does not seem to know about race features that get unlocked past first level. It is the only reason I can think of for why he still has yet to recommend Tiefling, even though he has already covered lore bard and now an eldritch blast warlock. The one time he did recommend Tiefling it was for the monk build since the Tieflings get produce flame. And when he recommends Drow he only discusses the first level features. He just doesn't know they get things past first level.
2. Ability scores - Once again starts with 17. And at level 4 he says to bump up Cha by 2 to 19 again. But this time at level 8 he says to take a half feat to bring Cha up to 20!!! Hoorah! Except the half feat is Resilient: Charisma. Let's ignore the fact that Charisma saves are probably the least common saves in this game. Bane and maybe some of Cazador's abilities are the only hostile effects I can think of where you need to make a Cha save. Let's ignore that. Warlocks are already proficient in Cha saves. He could have taken Actor as an amazing half feat here. He could have taken Performer just to get instrument proficiency. But no, he had to take the one Cha half feat that offers absolutely nothing else to this build. I can't make this up, it is embarrassing to tout these builds as high quality.
3. Hellish Rebuke - At level 4 he recommends Hellish Rebuke because it only takes up a first level spell slots, and you supposedly have plenty of those. Except you don't. You don't have any level 1 spell slots. You have 2 spell slots per short rest, and they are both second level. Burning a pact magic slot on Hellish Rebuke is not something to be flippantly disregarded
4. No Hunger of Hadar - I get if you don't want to use the spell. But for a build about an EB spam with repelling blast build, one of the best spells to combo with this is at least worth a mention.
5. Devil's Sight and Darkvision mix up - He says that one should pick devil's sight if their race does not grant Darkvision, because this will stop you from having disadvantage in dark areas. Devil's Sight is more than just Darkvision. It allows you to see through magical darksness. Goes great with that Darkness spell he recommended a few levels ago, or that you would get a free casting of if you went Drow or some Tiefling variants and knew they got the spell at 5th level.
6. Armor or no? - He keeps flip flopping on whether this build will use armor. When starting out he says you'll be wearing light armor. At level 7 he says to take the armor of shadows invocation which he claims increases your AC by 2 (if you are not wearing armor then this increases your AC by 3, and if you are wearing armor then it has no effect). In his gear recommendations sometimes he recommends armor, sometimes not.
7. Cantrip scaling at level 11 - This is a relatively minor issue but he is incorrect. Here he says cantrips scale up again at level 11. That is how it works in tabletop. I don't know why Larian changed this, but in BG3 it is level 10. Maybe he mentioned this in other posts, I am not going to go back and check. It's a small concern but I wanted to point it out.
8. Gear - Everything this build selects during the level up process is focused around Eldritch blast. Yet he keeps mentioning rapier proficiency, gear like gloves of power, etc. I don't want to go too far into this, as a character who focuses on Eldritch blast but uses weapons in a pinch seems fine. But he never really pulls the strings together on this. He recommends the gold wyrmling staff on a character with 10 strength. This just feels like a bunch of copy paste with no critical thought.

Battlemaster Fighter Build

1. GWF style - He says GWF only applies to weapons with the two handed property. This is incorrect. It also applies to versatile weapons wielded in two hands.
2. Racial proficiencies - He recommends Githyanki and Gold Dwarf because of the weapon proficiencies they get. Fighter is already proficient in all armor and weapons. Githyanki is my favorite race and anyone who talks bad about Lae'zel is getting banned (/s about the banned part), but this is not a reason to pick these races as a fighter at all. This is day 1 build stuff. I would be embarrassed to have shared such blatantly incorrect info so widely.
3. Acrobatics proficiency - Here he stresses the importance of proficiency in acrobatics to avoid getting shoved around. On a high Str character who following his guide would be proficient in athletics. How did he get this 100% wrong on both his monk and fighter builds?
4. Ability scores...again - If you follow one of his backup recommendations to take toughness at level 12 then things do work themselves out to even numbers. So there is a chance you could end up on a decently planned out build by following his guide.
5. Action surge + extra attack - he says that a level five fighter who action surges can make 3 attacks a turn, and how strong this is. Imagine if he actually played this character or had a basic rule understanding to learn that a level 5 action surging fighter can make 4 attacks a turn. He doesn't comment on action surge on a level 11 fighter but I am sure he would see stars given just how strong he thought 3 attacks a turn at level 5 was.

Conclusion

I could make a post nitpicking any one of his builds in a post as long as this one. But it would be a lot of stuff along the lines of, "You say to use any heavy crossbow on the fighter character, but really this character would be best served by bows that give an increase to initiative." That is not the point of this post. This post is to point out more than just disagreements. It is to point out fundamental misunderstandings on Alcast's part and why I would never recommend one of his builds.

This is the most frequently violated rule of the sub. I posted this information as a comment on another post and we (mods) decided to make a separate post about it so there’s completely clarity and something to refer back to when needed.
The rule is; “No excuses, minimizing, or victim blaming.”
One of the only reasons we are allowed this space is because we have very strict rules. You’ll notice there are no other active RSO groups here. The rules we have and the fact that we strictly enforce them is why we are allowed to have this space.
This group is public, and we (the group itself) are not exactly well liked by most people (usually because they don’t really understand what the group is, but there are other obvious reasons) so we do have to be extra careful.
We have to be careful not to minimize actions or make harmful statements here because:

1. We are not here to harm victims of SO’s and it’s important to be careful not to.
   
2. Our ultimate goal should be to prevent these crimes from ever occurring again while allowing people who committed crimes to seek the help they need and to be able to successfully reenter society and live normal, productive, crime free lives. Making excuses, blaming victims for anything and minimizing past actions are not conducive to that.
   
3. We are here as a resource to help you more forward in life.
   

People already assume that, if you’re on the registry, it’s because you’ve committed a violent sex crime.
When people here say things that even allude to making excuses, minimizing, or victim blaming, people are hurt by it. Others, who are looking for reasons to make it appear the absolute worst that it can often screenshot it. They post it in other groups, they make YouTube or tiktok videos or post them on other social media.
I don’t believe that most people here don’t mean to minimize or victim blame or make excuses when they type those statements. However, how they appear matters.
People see that and become enraged. They don’t come read more or try to understand anything, they just become enraged (their feelings may be misguided but are understandable - 1 in 4 people have been a victim and 86% of their abusers are never prosecuted, so there’s a lot of built up hurt and a lot of people who never got justice for what happened to them.)
People being enraged by those comments leads to the group being trolled (which means we have to spend every minute of several days removing some of the most vile and nasty things you’ve ever read), and to the group being reported over and over and over again.
It’s hard to cover every single thing that falls under those categories, but I’ll try to give you a rough idea.
Below are examples and the reasons those things are problematic.
Examples of excuses:
• ⁠“It’s not my fault because _____” • ⁠“I don’t know how I could be expected for know she was only 14.” • ⁠“She started it.” • ⁠“I only did it because of depression.” • ⁠“I only did it because I was young and dumb.” • ⁠“My wife wasn’t paying attention to me.” • ⁠“It was an accident.” Sex crimes are not to be referred to as accidents here. Accidents are slipping on a patch of ice, hitting one of those yellow poles in a drive thru, spilling a drink, etc… Committing a sex crime may be a really poor decision, a terrible thing to do, a regrettable action, etc… referring to it as an accident makes people think you’re comparing it to failing a test. • ⁠“It shouldn’t be a crime anyway.” - and maybe it shouldn’t. I will never think that a 16 and 18 year old engaging in sex that they both want to have should be criminalized - but it is. However, when people see someone say that something shouldn’t be a crime without enough context they 100% assume that you’re saying raping children shouldn’t be a crime. Doesn’t matter what you’re actually referring to, that’s what they read because they’re already expecting the worst.
Examples of victim blaming:
• ⁠“the victim lied…” - that may be true but you’re not saying it here because it’s not going to be perceived the way you mean it. Ever. Under no context is it okay to say here, that’s a conversation to have with your attorney. • ⁠“Why would she have dressed like that if she didn’t want to ______?” • ⁠“She didn’t tell me she was 14.” • ⁠“She sent me the picture, I posted it on the dark web because she was a b*tch and deserved it.”
Anything that’s disparaging about a victim is going to be removed. Period. Doesn’t matter if it’s true or it isn’t, it’s not staying. There’s no reason to say it.
This includes stating things that a victim did that you feel has harmed you somehow.
Examples of minimizing:
• ⁠Probably the most common is referring to a sex crime as a mistake. “It was a mistake” - any and every time you refer to a sex crime as a “mistake” the post or comment will be removed. A “mistake” is defined as “an error” “a goof” or “a slip up” Messing up on a test is a mistake, eating so much cake that you feel sick is a mistake, forgetting your moms birthday is a mistake, hitting “reply all” on an email is a mistake…. Referring to committing a sex crime as a “mistake” absolutely enrages people. Imagine telling a victim, “oops, sorry, didn’t mean to…” because that’s what they hear.
It’s a decision. It’s an action. It’s a crime. It’s whatever else you want to call it that accepts accountability. Any and every time it is referred to as a mistake it will be removed.
• ⁠“I didn’t have any victims,” is a common one. There are exceptionally few sex crimes that do not have victims. Arguably, they all do. So you cannot say that here, especially without any context. Period. Ever. I don’t care if you’re the exceptional rarity where there may actually not technically be one, you don’t get to say “I didn’t have any victims” here. Not everyone knows your story and saying things like this absolutely enrages people. • ⁠“There were no victims,” when referring to CSAM. Yes, there were. We aren’t going to get on board with saying there weren’t. Every underage person in those photos were victims. Period. One of the biggest and most common things that gets us in trouble is when people say that.
** People have asked about stating that stings have no victims - According to the general public, who are unaware as to how these stings are often conducted, it’s the person you though it was and it saved a real child. So, saying there’s no victim, causes rage.
Arguably, you could say that there’s no victim if a 17 year old willingly, knowingly, without being asked, without coercion, sends a photo of themselves to someone 18+ and the person who is 18+ gets arrested for it. But people who don’t know your story, don’t know your story. They picture you having downloaded hundreds or thousands of videos of kids who are anywhere from babies to young teens being raped and m-bating to those. That’s what people think every single time. So you cannot state that you had no victims here ever.
Imagine you’re standing in a room filled with victims of CSAM. Would you stand there and say, “Watching CSAM is a victimless crime”? - I mean, I really hope you wouldn’t. If you did, I’m sure you’d face some pretty ugly repercussions.
So, before you post / say things - think about these things:
• ⁠If you were standing in a room filled with victims of SO’s, would you say it? • ⁠Would you say it the way you just said it to someone you know was brutally raped? • ⁠If you were speaking to a group of people who were horribly abused and violated as children, would you say that the way you just did?
Because you’re posting it in a public group. Those people ARE reading it so you ARE saying it to them.
• ⁠Are you giving enough context where a victim of a sex crime won’t feel like you’re saying it’s their fault? • ⁠Are you being accountable for your actions? You • ⁠Did you accept responsibility? • ⁠Does it sound like you are making excuses? • ⁠Did you provide enough context where it doesn’t look like you’re saying something that’s harmful to others? • ⁠Are people going to understand what you’re saying?
I, and other mods; are cussed at, called names, degraded, etc… a lot by people who are members here because we’ve removed their post for these things. Usually because they’re not bothering to read the entire statement, not bothering to look at what they posted and how it will be perceived, and not bothering to understand why we have those rules, “I’M NOT VICTIM BLAMING YOU STUPID ___” “You’re just as bad as ___”, “You’re oppressive and horrible and not supportive,” “who the fck are you to judge me?”, “fck you and your gd judgement,” etc…
Users here are forever getting pissed at us because they don’t think we should care what “outsiders” think. We disagree. We have to care what they think if we want to be allowed this space.
We are also the one and only place on the entire internet where people sit and watch people convicted of SO’s talk to each other. There’s nowhere else that exists.
Considering that most of them assume everyone on the registry is the worst of the worst and assume you’re there because you rped babies and filmed it, violently raped someone, molested young children, etc… this is the only place they see that’s *not what the registry is anymore.
Do you want those people to think you’re excusing ped*philia (which nobody here has ever done that I’ve seen in the years I’ve been here) or do you want them to realize what the reality of the registry is? Do you want them to fight against you or realize, “this registry shit is out of control”? Do you want people to continue thinking people on the registry are the worst of the worst of the worst?
This group changes a lot of peoples opinions about RSO’s. Do you want it to be changed for the better or for worse?
So, yeah, if it looks like you’re saying something super offensive or shitty that minimizes the pain of others, minimizes the impact the crime you committed, or you’re saying something we know will be perceived that way it will be removed. It’s not an accusation, it’s not us telling you that you’re bad, it’s us protecting this group and every person who uses it.
If you have a post removed for these reasons we do usually try to explain it but we can’t always, because modding this group is like having a second full time job. You can reword your post and repost it. You just can’t leave it as it was.
And if you’re genuinely doing those things - actually blaming victims, actually minimizing, actually making excuses on a regular basis after being warned or you decide to mock or criticize us for removing those comments in your next one you’ll also be banned.
Strict rules and being cautious not to harm others is how this group still exists when every single other group has been removed.

I’ve kinda hit a rode block with keeping my older home ( house built in late 1800s) energy efficient. I’ve had a RISE home assessment a few years back and my wall installation was “ up to code” and my HVAC system isn’t great but it works so my next step is to see how I can improve my windows long term. I’ve had the shrink wrap film on my windows during the winter but I don’t want to have to do that every year and it doesn’t do much to help with the summer heat. I’m low income so paying out of pocket for window replacement is not an option right now. Does anyone know of any agencies in the state ( or the city of Providence which is where I live) that helps with window replacement for low income households? TYIA

For example, I used to stay up late, like past midnight on work/my kids’ school nights.
She’s a 30-something old lady that is in bed at 8:30. Even after 10 months no contact, I still go to bed early. My kids bought me a “Most likely to be in bed at 9” t-shirt bc they always make fun of me.
She also helped me reconnect with nature. I’m a professional biologist that got into that field bc of nature. The trajectory of my career put me in biomedical research and I lost track of nature. Her love of hiking and camping helped me reconnect at a time I was in a professional crisis.
There are others, and I don’t mean this to minimize their abuse, she was a monster to me and I’m still trying to heal/get functional ten months after the final discard (thank you tenure! Kidding, not kidding). I’m still massively fucked up to the point idk if I’ll ever have female companionship again and am not great at work and often don’t appreciate family time like I should. And I turn down setups (“beautiful neurosurgeon.” “No.”, “Gorgeous physical therapist “Nope”, “Amazing…” “… absolutely not”) and cannot even ask for a flirty woman’s number, because 1) they aren’t her, and 2) for the first time in my life, aim afraid of being hurt.
But I try to find any diamonds in that rough. Or however that metaphor goes.

so i’ve had a chest infection for the past few days. it was getting better but since thursday it’s just gotten so much worse. plus i’m not doing well mentally - anxiety is at an all time high and i’m losing motivation to do things at an alarming rate.
so i play in a football team as the backup goalkeeper and my coach just told me i’m playing tomorrow, and when i tried to tell him i can’t cause i’m sick he got a bit defensive and mad, so i panicked and just said i would power through anyways. now i’m sitting on my sofa crying my eyes out and wanting to rip my skin off cause i just don’t want to do it. being the backup i’m obviously not as good as our first choice so my defenders don’t like me and it’s obvious during matches (snide remarks, eye rolls etc etc), and i’m just not in the emotional headspace to deal with that right now but also my coach just won’t take no for an answer. i’m so overwhelmed and i can’t calm down and i don’t want to go into the game overstimulated even though it now seems certain.
please help me i’m desperate
