Restart issue on Win10, Win11 Pro N and Win11 Pro

2024.05.19 03:01 YipeeKiYay26 Restart issue on Win10, Win11 Pro N and Win11 Pro

Hi, guys,
I don't know what else to do, just decided to post here. For the last couple of months, every time I'm playing (I only play simracing games), my PC just restarts totally randomly. No BSOD, no error show. Just black screen, restarts and turns on totally normal, like nothing happened.
It started while playing F1 23, on Win10. Thought it might be high temps, so decided to monitor them. My CPU (Ryzen 5 3600) and my GPU (RX 6700 XT) temps while gaming are around 65º to 75ºC. Put some new thermal paste, cleaned the fans, fresh OS install to Win11 Pro N, again the same issue. Totally random restarts. It does not matter which game, eventually it happens. From ACC to EA WRC, to F1 23 or LMU.
Whats even more strange is that, when I can play, the performance seems to be perfectly normal. The restarts only happen when I'm on menus, or while starting the game. On my "normal" use, like web browsing, Word/Excel, Photoshop, everything works perfectly normal. No stutters, no freezes, just a normal working PC.
Also, on C/Windows there's no minidump logs, whatsoever. I read that Windows just creates a dump file after a BSOD, so I don't know if that's why I can see anything.
Just today, installed Win11 Pro and was able to play WRC for around 25min. After that, I switched to ACC and couldn't even get to the menus. Tried 3 times. Sometimes I can play a game for 40min other times just for 10min before it restarts.
Event Viewer logs some errors around the time of the restart, but it seems I can't find the root problem. GPU, Chipset, Win Updates, peripherals (Thrustmaster) are all up to date. Also, no overclocking whatsoever.
Here's what I tried until now:
Disabling XMP
Disabling fTPM/TPM
Deleting the AMDRyzenMasterDriverV20 in Registry.
Using CCleaner to make a Registry Cleanup
Installing just the AMD driver, without Adrenaline.
Changed the USB port that connects the peripherals hub to the PC.
Uninstalled Ryzen Master.
Does anyone have an hint of an idea of what might be? Or at least a software recommendation that is able to tell me why the PC just restarts, so that I can have a starting point?

2024.05.19 02:56 YipeeKiYay26 Restart issue in Win10, Win11 Pro N and Win11 Pro

Hello, simracers,
I know this isn't the kind of post for simracing, but since my issue has been happening while I play, I decided to also post it here. So, basically, for the last couple of months, every time I'm playing, my PC just restarts totally randomly.
2024.05.19 02:53 jlodvo Zero disconnects and crash now on hd2 , hope this helps others

things that made me fix all crashes (crash to desktop with event id 1000) and disconnect to ship
most of the tips and fix are in the pin message in hd2 official discord you just need to be patient and try till you find a solution the game is very unstable thats why you need to get your pc super stable like 200% stable
you need more extra headroom for stablity in this game
specs intel (13900ks) and nvidia (4090) mobo (z790-i)
--bios--
  1. limit max core of your cpu lower it first to test min ive set it to X50 sync all cores (downclock to be super stable)
  2. Enforce all power limts
  3. Set Power Limit 1 (PL 1) to your cpu specs mine is 320 intel 13900ks some is 253 depends on your cpu
  4. Set Power Limit 2 (PL 2) same as above
  5. Set the Core Current Limit(Amps) to your cpu mine is 400 some i think is 307
  6. lock your pci graphics gen dont leave on auto mine is Gen 4
  7. make sure your ram settings is stable, or for test disable XMP first so it downclocks if all good turn it on
--- Drivers---
make sure all your drivers are up to date and do a clean install of your graphics driver using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)
--game luncher on steam---
you can try to use lunch option: --use-d3d11
but still you need to tweak your bios to be super stable you can get back to dx12 just by deleting the lunch option
--ingame settings to try--
turn off = BLOOM
turn off = Screen-space global illumination
turn off = Anti-aliasing
Motion Bur = 0
Use Async Compute- off you can try on or off
Render Scale = Native
Camera Shake = Off
Display Mode = Borderless Window
Framerate Limit = On
Framerate Limit = 120 my oled 4k monitor can only do 120
Vsync = Off
---misc---
if you have asus sonic uninstall it
disable ipv6
use other DNS
--Registry tweak--
TdrDelay = 10
Simply go to your registry: Start Run Type in "Regedit"
Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers" and create a key of type "DWORD (32-bit)" and name "TdrDelay" with a value of 10 as Decimal value.
Reboot and play :)
In a nutshell it gives the GPU 10 seconds to recoverespond vs. 2 seconds (default).

Rainbows under the Rock Paper Pencil screen cover… why?!
Hard to see the rainbow oil slick effect in this picture but you can see it if you zoom in. I installed this thing exactly according to instructions (cleaned with a microfiber cloth first etc).
This rainbow effect is extremely annoying because it’s most visible under bright lights (like in my office, where I use my iPad for note taking). The rainbow pattern also moves around under my pencil which makes it all the more distracting. It’s like there are bubbles under there, but there are no bubbles. I even tried going at it with one of those screen protector applicator squeegees for a while. No dice.
Has anyone seen this before with their Rock Paper Pencil screen covers? Anything I can do about it or is this thing just a dud?

2024.05.19 02:39 Kevinwish Event ID 0 nvlddmkm by exiting a running instance of GPUGRID project

Hi Community, I need ya help to troubleshoot!
I have a desktop with an i9-13900K with RTX 3090, DDR4 3600MT/S CL18 ram. Motherboard is Gigabyte Z690 UD AX DDR4 with the latest BIOS, PSU is Corsair RM1000X.
The problem is when I exit BOINC Manager (project stops with exit) with GPUGRID running, I get following error message under event viewer:
The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
\Device\Video3
Error occurred on GPUID: 100
The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table
Other than the above message, nothing abnormal happens to the computer, no sudden black screen, and I did not see this error message with other applications.
CPU's temperature is around 50C & GPU's core temperature is around 67C, memory 84C and hot spot 78C, looks normal.
The process responsible for utilizing the GPU is acemd.exe under "C:\ProgramData\BOINC\slots\2\bin" directory, and application name under BOINC manager is called ACEMD 3: molecular dynamics simulations for GPUs 2.27 (cuda1121)
Things I tried to troubleshoot:
After I tried all those things, nothing has changed, still when I exit BOINC when GPU is utilized, same error message appears.
Please give some suggestions, thanks!

2024.05.19 02:10 kilkenny99 When quitting Teams, the "How do you want to open this file?" dialog always opens.

When quitting Teams, the "How do you want to open this file?" dialog always opens.
This is only happening on one computer. When I'm done using (New) Teams & quit the program, I get the "How do you want to open this file?" dialog opening every time.
If I actually try to pick a program from the dialog, for example Notepad, it says that it cannot find "C:\users\name\Desktop\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe!MSTeams.txt". I do it again & this time pick Paint, it says that it cannot find "C:\users\name\Desktop\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe!MSTeams.png".
It seems that "MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe!MSTeams" is the folder name under AppData\Local\Packages that the new Teams is installed into. So I suspect maybe it's trying to write into a log file, but for some reason it's looking for it under my Desktop instead of AppData. Reinstalling it doesn't change this behaviour.
Any ideas on how to fix this? It's a minor annoyance, but still an annoyance.
Win10 22H2, btw. This is also the only PC I use Teams on that I login with a personal MS account vs a work AD account. Also this is the current Teams (work or school) application. The re-installs were fresh downloads from Microsoft.

2024.05.19 01:48 Mafoo343 Starcraft LAN Party at Way Library 6/12/24 6:00pm-8:30pm

Way Library is hosting another one of its Starcraft LAN parties in the Technology Lab on 6/12/24 from 6:00pm-8:30pm. Registration for the event has just opened up and as of the time of this writing, still has ten slots left. If you're interested you can sign up via the link below or at the registration desk.
https://waylibrary.libcal.com/event/12353810
This time around, the library has upgraded to newer computers. Game formats will include both co-op and PVP. Just as an FYI though, the head of the event said the library's earbuds aren't the best, so if you want to keep your game audio to yourself, you may want to bring your own headphones.
The head of the event plans to continue having LAN parties for this and other games in the future. For example, all of the computers also have the original Unreal Tournament installed on them. If there is any game the community is interested in playing at a LAN party in the future, you may want to consider bringing it up to Travis McAfee as he is open to future suggestions. If there is sufficient demand, it could help open up some cool new events.
This event is still a few weeks out, so if you know anyone that would be interested in attending, feel free to spread the word. I look forward to seeing you all there :)

2024.05.19 01:45 TheFalseViddaric The New Data Drug

I messed up. I messed up bad.
“Never get high on your own supply”. The human who sold me this data told me it was a saying from his world. But I had to be sure it was the real deal. After all, data drugs that worked on people without a brain interface installed? It was unheard of. But here I am [30 hours] later, and I no longer doubt. I feel utterly exhausted despite having barely moved. My every neuron feels fried. All 6 grasping appendages are sore from the repetitive motions, and my eyes are dry and unfocused from the long strain I have put them through. I feel intense pangs of hunger and thirst, as I haven’t eaten or drank since I started this test.
I still want more. But with a great effort of will I force myself away from the screen of my computing terminal and stumble to my pantry so I may attend to my body’s needs. As I gulp down nutrient drinks and chew some dried fruit, I reflect on the trance I’ve somehow barely managed to pull myself out of.
Simulations. A useful tool for engineers, scientists, and military strategists. We had never thought to teach storytellers or artists to use them. Humans had. And what they created was both miraculous and monstrous.
Humans decided to use simulation technology to create art and craft stories. It seemed that there was a human simulation… no, hundreds of human simulations, designed to invoke whatever feeling or emotion you could imagine. And possibly some you couldn’t.
I had started simple. A basic test of spatial reasoning, and later quick thinking, expressed through the medium of stacking colored blocks formed into geometric shapes. While comparable at first to a children's toy, as the speed and challenge increased I became increasingly hypnotized. The feeling of lining up and clearing four rows at once with the all too rare straight piece was intensely satisfying. Making a mistake, leaving a gap caused frustration and incompleteness like I had never felt before, and eventually fixing it gave a feeling of relief, of rightness. As the game sped up, I found myself more and more frantic to try and find places for every piece. The rush of success and agony of failure only increased as I prided and chided myself on my quick decisions.
Eventually, I could keep up no longer, leaving me only with a number. A score.
Could I push that score higher?
[4 hours] went by, and I barely noticed.
I should have stopped. I knew that what I had was genuine. But I wanted to know what else this data was capable of.
I navigated a colorful landscape, defying gravity with every action and finding joy in exploration and collection.
I slaughtered demons with a chaingun, turning the fear of being devoured into a rising sense of conquest and bloodlust.
I failed a single test of dexterity, sending me tumbling down a hole and erasing hours of progress, and I nearly knocked myself out from the shock of frustration.
I defeated a hulking warrior with a team of other adventurers, and the triumph of it was only amplified by the sting of failing several times before.
Freedom and entrapment.
Horror and domination.
Elation and sorrow.
Every new experience was an emotional high of a kind I’d never had before, and my hearts were racing with the myriad of feelings rushing through my mind. My imagination was going wild with the possibilities of all these new worlds of data and programming.
My self-reflection comes to a grinding halt. I need to stop. If I’m not careful I’ll get addicted and end up like one of those mindjackers, burning their brains out on data drugs. Supposedly these simulations can’t do that, but I wouldn’t have put it past the seller to lie about that kind of thing.
Well, one way or another, I’m gonna make a [alien animal that shares many traits with both giant squids and magpies]’s hoard selling these. Time to call my best clients…
[Time skip: approximately 25 solar years]
The Rise of the Galactic Game Industry: Fluke of the Black Market, or Human Marketing Genius? You Decide!
Dr’k-Nam, Head Investigative Critic for the Arts and Culture section of Twin Suns Newsgroup
Simulation games, also known as “video games”, have taken the galaxy by storm ever since their controversial introduction and subsequent series of bannings and legalizations across the galaxy. Simulation technology is nothing new of course, but galactic newcomers from the Sol system, Humans, used it in an extremely novel way: art and entertainment. According to their historical records, a significant amount of their entertainment industry is based around simulation games, and that portion has grown even further with their introduction to the galaxy at large.
At first, however, no one was interested. A simulation with little or no practical application, designed only to entertain? Most people preferred to stick with the entertainment they knew, or seek new experiences outside of sims. So what changed?
Simple: some anonymous human decided to sell them as data drugs instead of simulation games; data drugs usable by simply interacting with a computer program, rather than having to inject the data directly in through a neural interface. With this small, but completely false new branding, video games were ready to start spreading across virtual black markets like spoilers for the latest episode of Ace Flyer Kr’t-Kah on the galnet (side note: please have some courtesy to others and tag your spoilers).
Human governance and society at large had been reportedly as surprised to see a lack of simulation games from other species as they were that humans had them. But they were even more surprised when they started getting accused of pushing the latest data drug. This was an especially confusing accusation because neural interface technology was not widely adopted by humanity at the time, and only a fraction of a percent of their population even knew of the existence of data drugs in the first place. The revelation that most humans had video games of some sort on their PPDDs (personal portable data devices) threatened to cause an uproar in the galaxy, as paranoia around data drugs was at an all time high among many species.
After trying and failing to ignore the problem for long enough for it to go away, human governance, as well as human corporations producing video games, were forced to release statements, acknowledging that:
Ironically enough, the controversy made them much more popular, even in places that decided on banning them. The idea of a simulation that could act like a data drug without the risk of frying your mind like the real thing was enticing to many. The lack of side effects and ease with which the games could be distributed only increased both their spread and unregulatability. In short order, races throughout the galaxy were trying out a new pastime, and galnet connected multiplayer games were bridging the gaps between the stars. Now, several other races, including my own, are seeking advice from human developers in starting their own simulation game projects. Only time will tell what kind of games their unique perspectives will produce, but it’s unlikely that humans will lose their position as the most powerful and profitable storytellers through this new medium; they have generations of experience to draw upon, after all.
Rumors that the data drug sales pitch was a deliberate ploy by the human game industry (to drum up intergalactic sales) or by human governance (to spread human culture and influence) are still under investigation, but solid evidence for either has yet to emerge.
Edit: anyone posting untagged Ace Flyer Kr’t-Kah spoilers in the comments section of this article will receive an immediate, no-warning permaban.

2024.05.19 01:12 ReceptionRadiant6425 Issues with Scrapy-Playwright in Scrapy Project

I'm working on a Scrapy project where I'm using the scrapy-playwright package. I've installed the package and configured my Scrapy settings accordingly, but I'm still encountering issues.
Here are the relevant parts of my settings.py file:

2024.05.19 01:11 MemelandsServer Memelands [Vanilla] {15+} {SMP} {Whitelist} {No resets} {1.20.4}

Hello everyone!
Memelands is an SMP with a close-knit and driven community looking for active long term players over the age of 15. We have been playing on the current map since 2019, so there are loads of unique builds and history to discover! And we will never reset the map, so everything you build on the server will stay there forever and you don't have to worry about a "new season" wiping your progress.
We have players from multiple time zones all over the world, ensuring that the server stays active around the clock. There are events on the server every so often, ranging from jeopardy nights to build contests and sporting activities such as the Memelands olympics. These events are usually held at a time where the most players are able to join in.
We are looking for creative individuals who will want to contribute to our server and be a part of a great community and, most importantly, have fun. The type of player who stops playing on worlds when "everything has been completed" is the complete opposite of what we are looking for.
The server is completely vanilla with the exception of a few essential datapacks (such as 1-player sleep) and protective plugins (we use CoreProtect to detect thieves and griefers). We use Simple Voice Chat to enable in-game voice chat between nearby players. Using Simple Voice Chat as a player is optional and requires installing the client-side mod.
Memelands is largely owned and run by the community. Financing is done through a yearly donation box and votes are held when important decisions about the server are to be made. We have a website where blog posts about the server can be submitted and we also have a Dynmap page where the map (Google Earth-esque) can be viewed live!
Our goal is to create a larger community full of fun and active players!
Basic rules: (more detailed list in our Discord server and website)
(If you see someone breaking a rule you should immediately report the player to an admin)
A whitelist and application system is in place to make sure that our new members are welcomed into a secure environment.
Application: CLICK HERE
Server IP: play.memelands.com
Note that you do have to be aged 15 or older to apply.
Minecraft is full of endless possibilities, and this is a great place to explore them. We hope you will come join us! :)

2024.05.19 01:10 Sweaty_Competition92 Razer Axon Failed to Connect to Server

This began after an update received by Razer on my PC yesterday. Reboot has not improved. Uninstall/Reinstall of all modules including Razer Synapse has not improved.
Verified my internet is connecting to all other applications (steam, google, etc.)
Was working up until the update. Windows 11 had an update yesterday as well and is now up to date.
Not running a VPN during any scenario either when update installed or when testing, normally don't run VPN regardless.
Have even tried connecting my PC to my phone using a hotspot and disconnecting from my main wired home internet and error is consistent.
Razer Synapse also had an update yesterday but connects fine and can load my profile.
When reinstalling Razer Axon I'm able to run the tutorial, while logged into my profile as well, and can even download the tutorial basic wallpaper without issue. The wallpaper enters my library but when the tutorial ends it just goes to Failed to Connect to Server.

2024.05.19 01:01 attracdev Overview of the Moschitta Framework

The Moschitta Framework is a cutting-edge, modular, and asynchronous Python framework tailored for modern application development. It emphasizes key principles such as modularity, performance, ease of use, and a Pythonic design philosophy. Below is a detailed exploration of its core principles, individual modules, and compound modules, highlighting how it caters to various development needs.

Core Principles

  1. Modularity
    • The framework is composed of distinct, interchangeable modules, enabling developers to use only what they need. This approach enhances maintainability and scalability.
  2. Asynchronous First
    • Designed with asynchronous programming at its core, Moschitta maximizes performance and responsiveness, particularly for I/O-bound and high-concurrency applications.
  3. Pythonic Design
    • The framework adheres to Python's philosophy, promoting readable, maintainable, and intuitive code. It leverages Python's strengths to ensure a smooth development experience.
  4. Lightweight
    • Minimal third-party dependencies keep the framework lightweight, reducing potential conflicts and improving security and performance.

Individual Modules

moschitta-auth

Handles authentication and authorization, providing secure access control mechanisms. ```python from moschitta_auth import AuthManager
async def authenticate_user(credentials: dict) -> bool: """Authenticate user based on provided credentials.""" auth_manager = AuthManager() return await auth_manager.authenticate(credentials) ```

moschitta-routing

Manages HTTP request routing, enabling clean and efficient URL mapping. ```python from moschitta_routing import Router
router = Router()
@router.get("/home") async def home(): return {"message": "Welcome to the Moschitta Framework!"} ```

moschitta-serialization

Facilitates data serialization, ensuring seamless data exchange between components. ```python from moschitta_serialization import JsonSerializer
serializer = JsonSerializer()
async def serialize_data(data: dict) -> str: return await serializer.serialize(data) ```

moschitta-logging

Provides robust logging capabilities for better debugging and monitoring. ```python from moschitta_logging import Logger
logger = Logger()

2024.05.19 00:43 lionethan Sharing My Methods to Extend the Battery Life of Windows Handhelds

Algorithm Priority

  1. Install AMD Software Adrenalin Edition
  2. Enable HYPR-RX (a series of optimizations)
  3. Lower the game resolution from 1920×1080 to 1280×720, 1366×768, or 1600×900
  4. Ensure Radeon Super Resolution is enabled (upscaling/resolution)
  5. Ensure AMD Fluid Motion Frames is enabled (frame interpolation)
  6. Lower the TDP to achieve 60fps through frame interpolation; further reduce for non-action games
The above steps aim to run games at low frame rates, low resolution, and low TDP, and then use AMD technologies applicable to all games for frame interpolation and upscaling (resolution) to achieve a minimum TDP operation of 1080p 60fps. The image quality will be worse than native 1080p 60fps, but it can improve battery life by about 20-40%.

Power Saving Priority

The above steps use Radeon Chill to dynamically lock the frame rate, adjusting to the maximum FPS during intense action and to the minimum FPS when there is no action to save power. Radeon Super Resolution and Fluid Motion Frames cannot be enabled simultaneously with Radeon Chill. Additionally, the low-power Radeon Image Sharpening filter can be used to sharpen object edges and make the image look clearer.
