We’re in the process of setting up our socials as a small agency. Primarily because we want to start running some social ads to potential clients but also to build our organic/social presence.
The problem is we have tons of data that we’d like to leverage for custom audiences. This data is a mixture of first and third party data - namely emails, phone numbers and locations.
However, this is naturally against FB’s TOS, so we don’t want to use the data in our actual main account. Instead we wanted to use other accounts incase we get a ban - something which is seemingly very common amongst FB media buyers in general.
We were thinking of using a something like Multilogin or AdsPower to hide our identity. This would allow us to warm up our accounts, as-well as create both business manager & ad accounts.
However where the plan goes off the rails is what do we do for the brand page that we run ads for ? Do we have a fake one that we add some content to ? The ads would obviously lead to our actual website but I’m sure FB’s algorithm is pretty good at identifying cloned accounts.
Any input from the experienced farmers or just other general brand owners would be much appreciated!
TL;DR . We don’t want to risk our personal/ brand pages on FB and insta so want to create a work around using multiple accounts - what’s the best way to go about this ?

I signed up for Bumble using an ancient, seldom-used Facebook account. Bumble automatically scraped the (hilariously fake) age I originally set on Facebook.
So I went to Facebook settings and corrected my date of birth, without a hitch. I've read that Bumble may take a day or two to update age, which is acceptable. But it's been 8 days! What is taking so long?!
I would delete everything and start over, but why should I have to? Plus, would be a shame to lose money I already paid Bumble.

What I want to know is, the headlight on my motorcycle is rather dim. I'd like to put on some small additional lights (aimed to not blind drivers) but I can't find a straight answer as to whether that's illegal or not.
While my situation is very much an "You'll probably be fine", it makes me wonder why in this day and age there isn't a simple way to get a definitive answer. Without being a lawyer, it seems like the average citizen is sort of forced to Guess or go by common sense as to what is, and is not illegal.
Either there's a resource I don't know about, or it seems like it's about time that the city puts together some sort of basic resource. Right now it seems to me the only option is Talk to a Lawyer, or just do it until you get caught and beg forgiveness.

My ex husband and I separated 4 years ago and are divorced for 3 years. It wasn't amicable. The last time I communicated with him was when we were filing for divorce 3 years ago. When we were seperating, I told him I didn't want to be his friend and didn't want people who treated me like he does in my life.
We were no contact for a year when we first separated. He sent me an Instagram message from his business account asking why I blocked him on Instagram. I had him blocked for at least 6 months by that point. He's pretty active on there and I really didn't want to see it and didn't want him seeing anything about me. I didn't respond.
We were no contact for about another year when he sent me a Facebook message about a rumour he heard about himself. He said I could have clarified the story with him and accused me of spreading the rumour. He sent a follow up email asking that I check my Facebook messages in case his message got filtered out. I responded to neither and blocked his email and him on Facebook. We don't have any mutual friends since our separation 4 years ago and I've spoken to no one that knows him. My best guess is the rumour was related to an incident during the early years of our relationship and I'm one of the few people who knew about it?
We've been no contact for another year (I haven't communicated with him in 3 years at this point) and he recently sent me a happy birthday text. I didn't respond and blocked his phone number. It's unsettling!

CONS - Pricing DOES tend to get a bit STEEP >> I'm sure that's why they offer so much - they DO however offer weekly deals for members & such. Just be aware that they don't accept low balls either. We tried to negotiate & were completely shut down lol! Hey I even took the discount for promo in the past no shame in it!

She ignored what I said about my uptime & speeds and pushed a $200 Prepaid Mastercard promotion on me if I would agree to swap. The "swap" includes new credentials, a technician coming to my house and installing a new modem (again, I don't use their modem now...it's not even plugged in) and of course I'm worried I'll have worse speeds and/or uptime and that I'm might not be able to configure the new system to use the PPPoE-type credentials I currently use to bypass their modem/router combo.
So, can anyone help me understand why they're pushing 'new accounts' on current customers? I find it hard to believe that they've laid new fiber in my 5 year old neighborhood. The rep had broken English and was simply reading from a script. I can't fault her for not having all the answers to my questions, but in short, I declined her offer to make any changes at this point.
I crossposted to Brightspeed but as they have less than 400 members, I'm doubting I'll get firm answers there.

Hi everyone, I hope this is the right place to ask my question. If not, please let me know where I should go.
This morning I was scrolling on Twitter when I saw this picture of like an old pioneer family that read, "Your Ancestor's Weren't Evil." I liked it and agreed because generally I don't like how society is constantly dumping on everything that happened in the past right now. Obviously horrible things did happen in the past. But horrible things still happen now too. I don't think it's fair to label people from the past as evil unless they're like literally Hitler.
Anyways, I shared the post to my Facebook Story and then like 20 minutes later it got taken down and I was notified that my account's ability to buy ads, start live streams, and join video calls has been restricted til June 17th for violating Facebook's Dangerous People & Organizations policy.
I was curious why this might be and I investigated the picture that I posted a little further and realized that at the bottom there is a watermark for some organization called, "Identity Dixie" which does appear to be a legit hate group.
I didn't know this at the time I shared the post. Nor do I condone hatred or racism of any kind. I should have been more careful before liking or sharing the seemingly innocuous post.
My question is...should I worry? This is the first time my account has ever been restricted. I would like to appeal & explain the situation but it doesn't seem like that is an option. I'm just really worried about losing my Facebook account because I use it mainly to keep up with family & loved ones.
I know I made a mistake and need to be more diligent in the future, but does anyone have any advice?

I am trying to verify my account which usually would require sending a copy of my license and entering a code they mailed me. However, since my facebook photo is years old they required me to go to a notary to do an ID verification form. I did this, but when signing the date I made a 4 that almost l looked like a 9. They rejected it as "modified" even though I did this right in front of the notary.
So I'm debating spending an hour redoing this (rural area, notary is far) vs a 2 minute edit in photoshop..

• I wouldn’t choose such a time & energy-draining method of scamming people. Hello Reddit,
I have been Playing on my Steam account for over 2/3 years and spent countless of hours on it. 2 months ago someone tried to hack my account they managed to get my password via e-mail. I contacted support and Got the account back after 2 days. 1 month later while i am in the middle of the game i get kicked out and logged off from Steam? Apparently they banned me for breaking the rules regarding it was not my account. I have been trying to contact support for over 1-2 months with proof of first e-mail, recovery code, proof of first purchase and everything they have asked for. Yet all i get is that the case is closed, and further messages wont be replied. I had skins such as butterlfy ruby and other expensive skins which i basicly used all my money on. My friend account was intially hacked or logged in by another user from Facebook, that user kept logging in, kicking my friend out and my friend logging in, kicking him out. Then my friend changed his email, password, also did 2FA authentication as well as unlinked his codm account from facebook. Now he has control over the account password and hacker can't take over his account. The real problem is that the hacker keep on logging in, meaning he didn't have to provide password and automatically log in, kicking out my friend
My friend no 2 said to do a option called "log out from all devices" and we can't find that option.
So how do we kick out the hacker permanently and stop him from logging in?

Try not to judge, I have a crush on a girl, it's been 12 years since I first saw her in my coaching class, have talked to her once or twice face to face that too very very minimal conversation. Well after a while she asked me to create an account on securityslf and I did. Also confirmed my identification. So after a while I can’t put money on it because I don’t have anything to spare now. So she insisted to send me 500 euro. If I put 1500 on it next month. So I was wondering if this is a scam or not. TL;DR (okay, this next bit is too long, too): Client has a bad hack (potential/probable RAT and potential/probable deleted files) and an external backup drive also. Total data on PC and external drive: About 300GB minus program files, etc. I advised him to disconnect from the internet and call his $$$ people to let them know and protect his accounts.
->Questions:

• 1) Can I install his external backup drive (2TB WD) on my home machine without immediately infecting it?
  
• 2) Can I scan the files on it without infecting my machine/network?
  
• 3) Can I scan the files on it without deleting them during the quarantine process?
  
• 4) Can I back up the files on his actual PC to my external drive and scan them at my home before restoring them to his PC, without deleting them/infecting me?
  
• 5) Is there any way of definitively determining exactly which infection he really has?
  
• 6) Is there any guarantee I can give him that his files will be returned intact? Or, should I simply escalate to a more-knowledgeable tech?

I have many years experience using PCs, but only 1 1/2 years experience with more-serious freelance computer support. I have done 3 or 4 hack recoveries. This one is the worst/scariest/most extensive hack I have seen yet.

Background:

Said client has had the infection(s) for over two weeks. He had another tech work on it, who evidently did not do the backup/reset/file restore process; I don't know what he or the other tech did, but the infections keep happening.

Examples:
-Chrome has been deleted, and when an install is attempted, a "file infected" "warning" appears --same with Edge;
-Firefox is the only usable browser (and yes, I checked the extensions), but only after Malwarebytes "quarantines" found-infected files. After the quarantine, FF can be run...for a few minutes. Then it stops working, and re-running MWB "finds" more infected files that did not appear the first time.
-Windows Startup Apps reports several gobbledygook names (lfsaxxcd, zqphpupy, etc), at least one of which is a PowerShell script; I don't know if they are legit or not, or simply uninstall remnants; I didn't have enough time to research it on-site.
-Avast immediately reports network problems, such as open ports on the router; and a program called "securesync innovations/securelnk.pif". I googled it and it seems like a RA program; it may come from AnyDesk (I don't remember), which he has on his PC too, but I have no idea where he got AnyDesk or if he has a legit use for it.
-MWB reported on my first run:
--"win32.apanas" which I found out is/was an old/"dead" RAT; --"spyware.remcos" (two infections); --"hijack.exe" file (dll privilege escalation?); --"generic.malware AI DDS" (MWB's AI generic finding)

In my Googling, I found a couple Reddit posts about Apanas saying it was an old/dead RAT; but someone else also said, during my second MWB foray, (see below), that MWB/AV may be deleting legit files that have been reported "infected".
When FF stopped working and gave the "file infected" "warning" when I started it, I re-ran MWB, which "found" three more, different infections. This part was just before I found the "deleting legit files" comment on Reddit.

-What I am scared of, is that 1) He has a bad, active RAT; and that 2) more and more of his files are being deleted with each MWB run.
This client is old and half-blind and a technophobe, and as I said had the other tech over at least once in the last two weeks, as well as running MWB God knows how many times, potentially deleting God knows how many files in the process.
-Here is the kicker: He literally has two Excel files, ON HIS DESKTOP, named "Passwords...[date]". His partner dryly said something about, "Yeah, he uses that file all the time, because he hates remembering passwords." If he has an active RAT, he is basically f***ed, right?
-I urged them both to disconnect from the Internet and call every financial company they do anything with online, and to freeze credit reports etc.
-What else can I do? At this point in my experience, should I even attempt to help him, or refer out?
