I was told by my IPTV service provider that my ISP is purposely slowing down my IPTV service causing buffering/freezing issues and I require a VPN to fix the issues.
Is this true? Can virgin media detect that you using iptv and punish you by lowering the broadband speed that you pay monthly for?

Without a VPN does virgin media throttle your iptv speeds? I was told to watch 4K HDR YouTube smoothly I require minimum 20mb speed. I pay for 500mb speed. How low from 500 will virgin media reduce down my speed to once they detect I watch IPTV?
If I do use a vpn then which vpn server do I use? I see hundreds of vpn servers worldwide. Will using a vpn server locally in UK is faster than using a vpn server from lets say japan?
Basically does a VPN reduce or stop buffering/freezing? If yes then how as I thought VPN's slow down your ISP speed because it uses network resources right?

I recently purchased a Watch 4 Pro and while all of the health apps are working, there is one that I cannot seem to be able to activate. Sleep Breathing Awareness. Huawei has advised me that this is a feature on the Watch 4 Pro and also the GT4 series. What happens is that when I try to access through the Health App it verifies the Huawei ID, syncs, and then goes to a screen which says "wear a supported wearable to sleep to get results and suggestions" tapping the top right gets me " Currently linked device doesn't support this feature. Connect or add a wearable"
I am in the USA, the watch was purchased from the UK and the Huawei ID I'm using is UK. As I said, all other features of the watch are working including faces, ECG,Sleep, Heart rate, Oxygen levels, stress levels. skin temp, arterial stiffness. It is just sleep breathing awareness that is missing.
Any suggestions please, I even tried using a proxy in the UK but to no avail. And Huawei is not the most helpful or prompt in responding.

We are Task Force Charlie.
We are a Nato MilSim group. Our focus is on delivering immersive and engaging Arma 3 operations while doing away with the more restrictive elements typically found in MilSim communities. There is no rank structure to adhere to, there are no compulsory game nights. Just come and join us whenever you can!
Although the group is relatively new, Task Force: Charlie draws its heritage from the now defunt Charlie Squad Community (2017-2021). We have years of MilSim experiance running both scripted and Zeus based Arma operations, as well as server management. The missions we run vary from Special Forces operations, counter-insurgency and conventional warfare. We occasionally run PvP ops as well, but those are more of a "special event", we mostly focus on PvE missions.

• Where do we game? We have our own dedicated server - currently capped at 32 players. We also have our own TeamSpeak server for in game Comms.
• When do we game? We hose Zeus Operations every Friday at 19:30 GMT. We aim to open up a Saturday rotation of Zeus events when we get a larger American player-base (we're currently a largely UK/EU dominated group).
• What Mods do we use? That info can be found within the 'Arma-information' channel in our discord.
• Are we LGBT friendly? Yep!

I have been using Docker for years now and never knew this until about 20min ago. I have never seen this mentioned anywhere or in any tutorial I have ever followed.
When you spin up a docker container using the host network its port mappings will override your firewall rules and open those ports, even if you already created a rule to block that port. Might not be that big of a deal unless you’re on a publicly accessible system like a VPS!
When you’re setting up a container you need to modify your port bindings for any ports you don’t want accessible over the internet.
Using NGINX Proxy Manager as an example:

ports: - ‘80:80’ - ‘443:443’ - ‘81:81’ 

Using these default port bindings will open all those ports to the internet including the admin UI on port 81. I would assume most of us would rather manage things through a VPN and only have the ports open that we truly need open. Especially considering that port 81 in this case is standard http and not encrypted.
To fix this was surprisingly easy. You need to bind the port to the interface you want. So if you only want local access use 127.0.0.1 but in my example I’m using Tailscale.

ports: - ‘80:80’ - ‘443:443’ - ‘100.0.0.1:81:81’ 

This will still allow access to port 81 for management, but only through my Tailscale interface. So now port 81 is no longer open to the internet, but I can still access it through Tailscale.
Hopefully this is redundant for a lot of people. However I assume if I have gone this long without knowing this then I’m probably not the only one. Hopefully this helps someone.

There seems to be a decent amount of people in the comments who don't seem to realize this is not really referring to systems behind NAT. This post is mostly referring to those who are directly open to the internet where you are expected to manage your own firewall in the OS. Systems such as VPS's, or maybe someone who put their server directly in a DMZ. Any system where there is no other firewall in front of it.

• Home servegeneral use: photo (but not video) editing: Lightroom and Photoshop, Plex server, PiHole, Docker, a self-hosted Password Manager
• Gaming: I am not particularly up to speed with gaming (haven't played anything in 10+ years). I'd like to get back to it.
