Sore throat mucus blood

2024.06.02 07:56 TheMintyLeaf 29F: Can clearing your throat often cause sickness? Not sure if I was already getting sick or caused it today.

So today I was "sucking up" phlegm from my throat and I did it when my throat felt dry (just finished coffee and didnt drink water right after). It was a hot sunny day too so I felt a bit dry. I felt something stuck a bit and decided to clearmy throat.
Well it hurt but I did get something else out instead of phlegm. I guess i sucked up so hard that I got a tonsil stone out. Which is great cause i didnt know i had some but now my throat feels dry and achey a bit. I have been dri king water and it still feels super dry hours later. Now idk if I have an upcoming sore throat.
The reason I question if I was getting sick was because my kids caught a cold 2 weeks ago. They're already over it a week ago. So I wasn't sure if I already caught it and the symptoms are coming now, or I just caused my own sore throat just now coincidentally.
If it helps, I did blow my nose in the morning (as usual with allergies) and there was less boogers, yet stickier? It feels like my nose is drier than usual to the point it feels stingy?

2024.06.02 07:38 PineappleAdmirable53 Possible flu or something else?

Female, 32 170lbs
I went to bed last night with a sore throat which was very minor, I didn’t think anything of it. I awoke in the night and it was much worse and I had bad chills and a headache. I woke up this morning and my whole body is sore and sensitive to touch, something I have never experienced before. I am just very run down. My back is extremely sore, it feels like the bones in my lower back are what hurts if that makes sense. It’s Sunday so I can’t get through to my doctor and I am only asking here because we have an important trip at the end of this week and I’m panicking a bit.

2024.06.02 07:35 Real_Suggestion_65 Five nights at Freddy's movie rewritten to be better

Opening**
A security guard is seen running from foxy the guard runs into Freddy and Bonnie and chica in the dining. Foxy raises his hook and slices the guards arm off and the guard is knocked down. He wakes up in a chair it is a torture chair with sharp saws going to his face he sees a screw and tries to unscrew it doesn't work. The sharp saws go threw his face as his skin and meat and blood scattered on the floor and you see his bone they get cutting so wide the cupcake sees this and bites his meat and eats it.
Scene 1**
Mike wakes up in his bed staring at the clock reading 6:00 AM. He goes to his job as a cashier getting paid 3.29 a hour he is planning to quit but he needs rent money. He sees a guy stealing something so he runs and tries to tell him to give it back but sees a child and he realizes he should let them go because they could be hungry. Mike gets called to his boss. The boss tells Mike you are fired pack up your things or we will call 911. Mike packs up and goes home. He calls number for a job council he finds one. 2 weeks later (4/8/2000).
Scene 2**
Number 27, number 27. Mike realizes he heard his number and goes to a office. Hello my name is Dave Miller I am ur councilor today so what is your deal Mike letting people just go after stealing something is just bad you know that right? said Dave Miller. Mike said I did the right thing mr.Miller. I know but you can't be doing that ok Mr.Michael Schmidt also do you want coffee for ur job. What job? Said Mike. Security at Freddy's said Dave. Mike said how is the pay. Not good but hours are worst said Dave Miller. I will take it ok said Mike. Okay said Dave Miller.
Scene 3**
[1 day later]
I am at Freddy's Mike tells Dave on the phone. Ok remember check the place top to bottom but do not look in the suits said the owner and no parts and service also the owner said Dave. Ok I said Mike. (20 minutes later) I am in my office goodbye said Mike. goodbye said Dave Miller. Mike saw a tape with his name he played it and it was the year 1987 of the tape. Hello and welcome to Freddy fazbear pizza place our wonderful staff will love you and if you cook good so will chica and beware of one thing FUN!!! And remember the animatronics should be taken with care ain't that right Henry said the staff. Yes said Henry. Let's see th- th- video tape ends. Mike hears a call from the phone and answers. Uhm hello hello hello and welcome to Freddy fazbear pizza place it is for fancy and fun come to life and remember do not like do anything bad that would get you an illegal trouble I know I know why am I reading this well our last night girl let's just say was terrible at his job and I mean it just make sure to not do anything bad and hopefully not like the last last last night guard he was a train wreck oh yeah guess what he did on his cameras he wrote he nobody like drew the middle finger on every single camera lens that's all I got to say is don't do that and take my warning animatronics are alive and remember close the door and check the lights I'm not going to tell you again because if you ever mess with them they will harm you or worse the last night card sadly passed away because of a glitch at least that's what we think basically we have to reopen this place so we need another car to clean up it and make sure to keep it clean that's all I have to say goodbye said phone guy. Mike said okay and proceeded to look around the place. And before he knew it it was 6:00 a.m. and he could leave ending his shift for night one.
Scene 4**
Mike drove home and he saw a card taped to his door it said that he could get evicted in the next two weeks or else he would have to pay a lot of rent and if he didn't pay it by that time he would lose his house and be forced to live on the streets. So Mike just went to bed waited for 11:30 so he can drive off to Freddy's and get started with his night. He woke up and it was 11: 37 he was 7 minutes late and it was a 30 minute drive so he's so he went a little over the speed limit for the start of it and then calm her down but luckily he knows on the road or else they could have gotten hurt or even killed and but by the time he slowed down those traffic so he got the place at 12:03 and well he just went to his office and checked on everything and cleaned and made sure nothing bad would happen but he heard a phone call. hello hello oh yeah it is me again I tried giving you that warning the last time but you're not going to take it so I'm going to tell you in the hardest way I can and that is damn electronics will try to forcefully stuff you into a Freddy suit but pretty much saw in your face and pretty much that's what happened to the last guard so just be careful I guess but yeah I'm finishing my last week cuz a matter of fact yeah the last card was the one before mine yeah I don't know I'm calling it your last one but it's a awkward just trust me with this I know you probably say I was crazy last time but I'm going to redeem myself but I'm going to send the VHS tapes the company said not to to prove to you that those animatronics are nothing but bad and they always will be so I recommend you just stop messing with them or else they will mess with you in the most Gory way possible they will make sure they rip you live from when they will make sure you do not survive trust me well that's the end of the call goodbye. I thought the guy was crazy. Mike continued his night and well he got curious and he went by the animatronics they smelled disgusting and he saw a drip of blood fall out Mike just cleaned it up thinking it was just water pipes or something but cuz he got Mike just cleaned it up thinking it was just water pipes or something but cuz he Mike just cleaned it up thinking it was just water pipes or something but he got told not to look in the animatronic so he just ignored him and just cleaned he cleaned up the place and finished his night and then he just left thinking that exact drop of blood he realized something was deadly wrong so hey just text again and again and again he couldn't find anything so he heard a knock on the door it was 2:00 a.m. so he didn't care he saw on the cameras it was a police officer her named is Vanessa Mike learned when she told him when he opened the door Vanessa walked in. Mike showed her to her office and he was told about kids went missing in 1987. They never found the bodies. She asked Mike why did you choose this job is this something you think of yourself being at 10-20 years. Mike said no. She told Mike I have to go. Mike said okay cuz it was 5:59 a.m. Mike had to go anyways and he did he went in his car and left and went home and disgust on the phone with his own with the house on her he lives in and they talked about if they can postpone his rent to be later the owner agreed and said we will but if you do this again I will charge you extra.
**Scene 5
It was 7:38 pm and teenagers thought Freddy's place would be a good place to party they went inside and set up everything at 9:54 pm a kid went in the kitchen and saw chica and laughed because he didn't think chica was alive and went by her mouth and chica opened her mouth and peeled his head skin the boy screamed but the speakers where loud. Chica pickled at his meat as she went more and more deep as the cupcake jumped at the boys stomach and ripped his guts and blood on the ground as the blood was gory and one of the girls went to check on him and the cupcake jumped at her biting her face open. One teen went behind the stage with her boyfriend and saw Freddy put his microphone down her throat deep and ripped it out of her neck inside her and he stomped on her face. The boyfriend got scared but Freddy put his arm in his eye holes as he rips his head from there. Another group of friends went in the janitor closet to tell each other the scary horror story of Freddy fazbear pizza place and the light went off and the door opens and closed and the light was back on and they saw Bonnie in there with them as he uses his guitar in one put it in thee boys mouth and putting it out of his back ripping his torso open the teens tried to escape but the doors where locked and bonnie toookk them out one by one. In the dining room foxy ran at them using his hook to kill them slicing there brains out and golden Freddy desposes the bodies.
Scene 6**
Mike went to his office and cleaned the pizza place but phone guy called. Hello hello yeah as you can see I'm back from the call I know you're probably thinking right now and this guy talking about where you found out either way I'm going to help you no matter what even if I am dead right now and probably am I get that because they don't like me they will get to know you and they will like you I will give you hints that I found out on the way they are ghosts children I mean if I was forced to sing songs for decades I would be mad too because that is kind of bad basically no one caught who did I found it out because I'm not dumb and I am actually very smart at least I think but probably not I know exactly will have the bite of 87 happen that's what we call it basically Mike it was dangerous basically this child got bit in the forehead by foxy yeah pretty crazy stuff foxy but the kid raising his suck at him yeah the kid at least yeah the kids did not survive sadly imagine having to write that note to the parents or the parents right now basically they gave him a discount to me that's pretty messed up in the brain like if your child I would you want to do that no I'm not saying that you don't have kids or if you do I don't know anything about you probably know you can be the owner's child right right yeah you probably are knowing your name and that's the same name that's his and he did change his name and it will be new in the public is a start with an s because someone tried leaking the full name I'll ask is if you are him do not try killing me do not be like your father because I found out he's the one and as soon as I get going with this job you know what I'm going to do I'm going to report it to the police station and they're going to find out all the evidence cuz I found the bodies but I didn't remove them because that's disgusting their children dead in the suits I know you I'm guessing you're only doing this because your father told you to let me tell you something why you can stop right now you can at least I mean you were 6 years old when you accidentally killed your brother and dwell changes your name and everything all I ask I don't remember what happened and the year 1983 that's all I have to say goodbye. What Mike said. As he thinks I don't even remember being a child before I was 12. Mike was confused it was 2:00 a.m. he realized Bonnie moved and moved and he got scared Mike right now if his office try to get the exit the exit doors lock so you run back to his office went underneath Bonnie's legs as Barney tried trapping him with his kneecap almost freaking Mike got loose and ran to his office door and closed it and he started realizing phone guy was crazy as he thought Mike knew he was wrong the whole time Mike thought he knew they where not alive but he was wrong bonnie slamed the door trying to get in but left. He closed all doors at 5:00 a.m. and waited it was 6:00 a.m. he left. Mike found Vanessa and told her their alive Vanessa. She said I know they are they are just kids you shouldn't mess with them like do not harm them in any way just quit your job and leave every one you know that is a child out of this place or else they will get dangerously hurt said vanessa mike went to bed.. to be continued next week

2024.06.02 07:29 iamd3zz I noticed that an acute cold is actually the chronic LC state but more intense.

hi. I've been dealing with what I believe is Long Covid Syndrome (fatigue, brain fog, gastrointestinal issues, joint pain, intense dreaming and many more) for 2 years and most of my days look like this:
And I got a cold recently and I am experiencing the same symptoms as above, but the phlegm is more intense and mucus also, the fatigue is more intense like almost lying in bed, the sweating increases and fluctuate with high temperature or chills, the join pain increases and I got also sore throat and hoarseness.
I don't know how to put this in words, but I really noticed that this cold is not something different than my chronic symptoms, but are the same but more intense. Especially that phlegm I have it daily, but during this cold is more intense. I believe that the COVID virus is somehow still in my body, creating chronic problems and reactivates from time to time and become more intense, acute?
Who else is experiencing the same thing?

2024.06.02 07:20 Bioengineered_001 Crazy excited. Maybe just excitably crazy. You judge, please!

After much research (here and online), close observation of personal symptoms / experiences and some hypothesized scenarios I may have a solution for at least a few physical symptoms that appear on the surface of our bodies.
I am not a doctor.
Background: I initially thought MD was alien in origin, but I gave that idea up because only crazy people believe in aliens. ;-)
Then I considered that it could be an ancient plague from days of old, but the study of children from 3 centuries ago (in England?) did not include the terrible symptoms many suffer today. So what we have today is relatively recent...
1) in researching this stuff I've found there are flesh dwelling fleas in the middle and far east mostly associated with dust, mold and fungi.
2) there are also studies examining the development (read weaponization) of parasitic fleas.
3) then I learned of graphine oxide. Wicked stuff that actually resembles small hairs, can activate with water and electricity and can be programmed...
So in my humble opinion this sh!t is a man-made 'kill-switch.' But to what purpose? Surely something so contagious and physically debilitating would not be released by anyone. What would be the point if everyone dies? Not even tree-huggers or globalist are that dedicated to depopulization.
So there must be a ready remedy that is available in most war-time scenarios. A remedy available to enemy combatants.
Salt is one natural remedy that offers some relief. Vitamin C is another. Sulfur is another. And then there is light...
I came to understand that this stuff is not a fan of light. The bright lights of medical facilities likely explain why doctors can't see what is troubling us just below the skin. I figured this out when I felt something moving around on an overcast day. When my flash went off prior to the camera focusing, the wyrm simply disappeared. This stuff is photophobic! In our bodies it becomes relatively inactive under bright light. Actually it hides.
Then I saw the thread about red light therapy.
I am not a doctor. This is simply my experience.
Not living near a red-light district and having no red light bulbs, I grabbed a small key chain laser.
When I moved the laser across the skin it felt as if I was brushing the surface with a soft thin brush. But I could only feel the sensation in places that had the wyrms. Another halucination? Nope.
To my astonishment when I pointed the laser at a small black sore (one of many much larger spots on my hand) for a brief period it seemed to fade. Unbelieving I hit the spot again for another brief moment. The spot scraped off with my finger nail with just a little pressure!
Then I tried one of the many tracks these wyrms use / leave when they move. The track disappeared! Seriously. Simply moving the laser back and forth along the track virtually eliminated it from observation.
When I tried the technique on a larger (more infested) spot the things immediately turn on the clear slime and when that fails they begin to move away.
The clear slime is not effective against the intense LIGHT of the laser! Additionally the laser is strong enough to penetrate slightly below the surface of the skin; right where this sh!t lives.
(To help contain the movement away from the laser I use a mixture of antibiotic ointment and OTC Sore Throat spray containing phenol. Applied liberally and frequently AROUND the infected area keeps the buggers in place.)
Your results may vary. I suggest trying the technique on spots not readily visible until you get an idea what the results are.
This method may be effective on the extremely fragile and tender skin of the face.
I have tried both red and blue lasers with similar results.
So, if inclined, give it a try.
No need to comment (though I enjoy reading everyone's posts and comments).
A simple 'up-vote' if it works for you. A 'down-vote' if it doesn't.
Call me crazy, but I sure hope it helps at least a few!
God bless!

2024.06.02 07:05 NotMagnet How do I prep for butt stuff if i already get enough fiber and avoid sugar/dairy? Any tips and tricks? My results are always so random and puts me off from intimacy or fully enjoying

So breakdown of what I eat and what I've tried:
My usual prep is eating a tablespoon of NOW fiber husk powder mixed with some apple juice every lunch and dinner days before the date. I avoid dairy and sugary stuff. and 30 minutes before i go to clean with a douche bulb I'll take 1/6th of a tablet of immodium. after 30ish to 45 minutes I'll get some warm water in a bucket and fill my douche bulb, then squirt like... 1-2 seconds worth of water into my butt then squat on top of my toilet and release. I'll do that till it's clean coming out minus the mucus.
The problem is, sometimes it'll just keep coming out dirty and breakaparty, which I know might mean I made the water go too high past my rectum which brings down the other stuff for hours to come, but I'm only doing a little water to prevent that, so how?
Anyway, if I get lucky and that doesn't happen, I'll shove a 6-7in dildo in my butt a few times to see if it the coast is clear. Then I'll go to the bedroom where my partner will enter me. So far with immodium I haven't had any incidents. The other night though 2-3 hours into intimacy, they pulled out, and a lot of the lube they've been having to apply nonstop (cause their tip kept goin dry for some reason??) shot out along with a little light brown color. I was too scared to continue after that because in my experience in solo play it would just get worse and messier if I continued.
So my question is, wtf do I do to stop that? Is it because the lube they put in me got pushed past my rectum and acted like if I were douching and put too much water which brings down the gunk? Really hate relying on immodium, but it lets me be clean 2+ hours unlike normally where it would be an hour max till it was dirty on my dildo. I'm so lost what to do. Should I just have continued and hoped the brown lube was just a fluke with mucus or blood? If I don't eat anything the day of I get diarrhea for some reason. If I eat before intimacy it makes it more likely to bring stuff down faster. I CAN'T WIN

2024.06.02 07:05 sweetladypropane108 Cold sore after care

I’m at the point where my cold sore has burst, with drainage and some blood, and now it feels very raw. Is it better to keep it dry or moisturized? Should I be applying anything or doing anything else to promote healing?

2024.06.02 07:01 Just-Cool- Which test is correct? False negative or positive?

I went into the hospital today for a cough that I’ve had for over 2 weeks. The only other symptoms I’ve had is loss of appetite. No fever, diarrhea, sore throat, headaches etc.. still the cough didn’t seem like it was going away so I went into the ER. I was given a covid test that came back positive. I totally trust their expertise but I don’t think I have it. I’ve been in close proximity to many family members over the last two weeks and all are fine. After being discharged, I took a home covid test and it come back negative. So is the hospital a false positive or mine a false negative?

2024.06.02 06:49 Cautious_League4330 Weird rashes all over body

I’ve had these red marks on my body, some are itchy some are not. My dr suggested it was ringworm but now I’m second guessing it, I’m getting new rashes everyday and it looks like it’s spreading all over my body despite following proper protocols and hygiene (washing clothes/bedding/ wash clothes daily, applying topical treatment as well as the oral pill, frequently washing hands) i also now have it on my hand and im paranoid its gonna spread even more it’s affecting my daily tasks and life. I’ve also developed a sore throat and a runny nose, dr says it’s not related but I’d love a second opinion please I’m kinda loosing my mind

2024.06.02 06:47 Ok-Transition-7060 Sleep Apnea Secondary to MDD w/Insomnia

So. I've read quite a few posts here regarding so many people's lovely experiences with trying to get a rating of OSA as a rating.
Long story short. I had sleeping problems practically my entire time in service. I always noticed it and I definitely made a comment several times to those at my base in the clinic. I do have a current rating of 70% for MDD w/Insomnia. I've been denied on my Sleep Apnea claim twice already. I did request a HLR back on April 18 and my lawyer submitted an article that has a few pages illustrating the link between Depression and mental health things and OSA. I did have a sleep study in July of 2023. And I have OSA pretty bad. It honestly makes sense considering I've had severe headaches for years, wake up with a dry mouth & sore throat most days, and even when I sleep for 8-10 hours. I would feel as though I never had more than 3 hours of sleep.
I also rarely ever dreamt at all (Which I was told is a telltale sign of OSA). Again, I made several mentions of the symptoms I would have regarding my poor sleep during my time in. But nobody ever suggested I should have a sleep study done. I was young(er) and naive and honestly never event thought it would be possible for me to have sleep apnea. I always assumed it was an old person thing or that you would need to be extremely overweight. While I wasn't the skinny guy I had always been during my time in. I was sitting between 170-220 max. And before I got out of the military was at about 185. So, for me (a guy who's always been pretty stocky & muscular), I felt pretty comfortable in my body. Now I feel as though I'm being penalized for my ignorance and it's just infuriating. The CPAP that I do have is a life saver and I'm extremely thankful that I got it done. But now that I understand that I've had practically the same symptoms for years...It feels like a slap in the face to deal with all of this.
Basically I'm curious if anyone else has had any success with filing secondary to MDD w/Insomnia at all? As I stated above, my lawyer did submit some article that provided evidence of links between all of that stuff. I also filed for an increase to my Migraines/Headaches. Basically just filling out a log that stated all the times I have headaches, with prostrating attacks, etc. I guess I'm just not sure what else I need to do or have to have done to make the examiners believe that I may have more than likely had OSA while I was in service. I'm waiting on a decision (have been since April 18th), and I'm literally holding my breath for that rating (if approved). If I get that & the increase for my Migraines/Headaches. I'll be sitting at 100% and a pretty hefty back pay amount that would literally be a life saver at this point.
I'm sure I'm missing some other things that I wanted to say, but this is pretty much the gist of what I was wondering about.

2024.06.02 06:39 Mission-Stuff-9898 Boyfriend is not considerate when it comes to illness and it’s starting to drive me crazy

I (early 20s F) have a chronic health condition which means I am immunocompromised, when I get sick it’s often more severe and lasts twice as long as other people. It also aggravates my health condition more so it’s a pretty bad feedback loop.
My partner (early 20s M) is aware of this and does try to do stuff like get covid vaccine boosters and such but can’t help but get sick constantly and “not notice” before passing it onto me. So far this year he had two pretty prominent warts on one of his fingers that I had to point out and ask him to deal with (I had persistent warts years ago and broke records at the clinic which treated them for the treatment duration, it took years of effort and painful intense treatments, being constantly vigilant to get rid of them). He told me he’d sort of noticed them but didn’t want to tell me because I’d “freak out”. Needless to say, his went away in a month or so with over the counter treatments and I’ve of course caught them, they’ve spread to almost half of my fingers and I’m back to sustaining really invasive treatment as they seem to only spread and grow over 4 months or so.
He also has chronic allergies which he doesn’t really take his prescribed medication for. This sort of bothers me because he sniffles every day and spreads snot with stuff like snotty tissues that he leaves everywhere. This is kind of gross already but means that when he has a cold he “can’t distinguish between it and the allergies” even though the first sign of a cold is usually a sore throat which I would imagine is sort of easy to notice as standing out from other hayfever symptoms? Usually he’ll complain of a sore throat offhand and I will have to explain to him that he’s sick and needs to take this more seriously and be more on top of his symptoms so I know to avoid him for a few days and avoid getting sick myself. Because when I inevitably always do, already 2-3 times this year, I’m impacted for closer to 3-4 weeks.
The most recent incident has been him coming down with gastro which he initially put down to food poisoning (as he isn’t great with food safety either). I get that it can be hard to distinguish, and that he doesn’t want to make me sick. But yesterday he told me that he he was better and wanted to hang out so we spent the day together. Only for him to be visibly sick the whole time, offended when I didn’t want to eat something his cutlery had touched, and for me to be invited to his home without the knowledge that his parents had caught his “food poisoning” and were both throwing up, and had still invited a guest over to dinner?? I only found out when I got there and immediately left. If I come down with something like gastro and can’t keep food/fluids down I will need to go to the emergency room immediately as it is dangerous for me.
I asked him today if he washed his hands properly and he said yes but when not sick he doesn’t even always use soap. I’m starting to get really tired of his bad hygiene/self-care practices which keep becoming my problem and I’m not warned about before it’s too late (and often I have to pick up on it myself and tell him to deal with it and be more careful next time).
Even if he does genuinely makes a mistake each time, I’m starting to feel like he doesn’t care enough. And I know that my condition sounds bad and that I should be more vigilant/expect to be sick sometimes which of course I understand. But why can’t he be bothered to notice something is up/why does he avoid telling me every time! I’m starting to really resent him for this

2024.06.02 06:29 inaonthego Egg retrieval results & meds donation in NYC!

I’ve gotten lots of helpful notes from this forum so also sharing my experience here for reference:
Age: 30
Facility: NYU Langone
Final results: 54 retrieval, 36 mature for freezing
Overall experience: felt very normal and stable physically and emotionally during the cycle except for some bloating/heavy feeling towards the very end; morning monitoring and injections were easy; post retrieval was rough (heavy cramping and nausea, stayed in recovery room for 2h before able to leave). Still feeling bloated and sore now almost 36 hours after. Doctor said it’s normal given that I’m petit + large retrieval number
Prep: did my initial consultation back in June last year and procrastinated till now to actually do the cycle (first month of turning 30). I always take vitamin c, d, and fish oil. Starting taking prenatal with frolic acid and coq10 maybe 1-2 months prior. Didn’t stop drinking or exercising till actual cycle start.

5/18 day 1, called nyu to schedule for day 2
5/19 day 2, started meds Gonal-F and Menopur
Morning monitoring every other day, which for me was a pleasant walk across Central Park so no complaint.
5/26 day 8 onwards, started to go every morning; stopped Menopur in the last two days
5/29 day 12 got instruction to do trigger shot 80 units Lupron in the middle of the night
5/30 day 13 trigger shots past midnight and in the afternoon (80/40 units)
5/31 day 14 retrieval around noon. Felt easy and relaxed before the procedure and was honestly a bit shocked how weak/impacted I felt afterwards. Nurse said I looked very pale and had to have me more liquid IV and meds to alleviate the pain&nausea. My blood pressure was very low so had to stay in discovery room for monitoring. After going home, I couldn’t really move as everything felt very tender. I kept on drinking coconut water and water with electrolytes. I ate some home cooked congee and cookies for dinner and crawled back to bed. Woke up in the middle of the night feeling very bloated and uncomfortable- any movement creates soreness and certain angles are painful to lie on. Can’t really take deep breath or engage core at any capacity- felt very immobile. 6/1 day 15 felt better when I woke up but still had trouble moving/standing straight/breathing deeply. Pretty much in bed all day but can feel the recovery as the day passed and even ventured out (slowly) to Trader Joe’s to buy more liquids. Doctor called to inform final count and told me it’s normal to experience a rough recovery as I’m a small person and it’s a lot of eggs!
Will continue to update as recovery goes!
For reference my friend who did retrieval three years ago when she’s 27 got out 37/47 and my other friend (same age) who did it last September got out 33/37. Both of them felt fine very soon after retrieval so I’m surprised I’m experiencing such strong reaction. Fingers crossed for a fast recovery. Can’t wait to get back to running & CrossFit!

I also have plenty of leftover meds and equipments I’d love to give to anyone who’s self funding and would find them of practical help. Feel free to dm me. I live in upper west side.

2024.06.02 06:25 cai_loser22 Can symptoms happen months apart? Testing negative though

So I originally had unprotected sex 5 months ago and then about 5 weeks later I started having morning sickness for about 2 weeks and then I got a sore throat for a week, I originally thought I was pregnant but it was negative. I went to the drs and was negative for strep, covid, and the flu but my throat was killing me and I had nausea but no vomiting. Was told my ear canal was red so I probably had an ear infection, given antibiotics and it cleared within 7 days.
Fast forward 2 months from having a sore throat to then developing headaches
I then had unprotected sex 72 days ago with another guy and then I just started getting headaches behind my eyes everyday so I got on multiple headache medications to control them but naturally this scared the living hell out of me so I abstained from any sexual interaction for 72 days and did a full STD panel, and my HIV 4th Gen AG/AB came back negative. Is that conclusive? Is it possible to have symptoms 2 months after each other? Would they be connected? Is this probably just my anxiety?

2024.06.02 06:25 inaonthego Retrieval result & meds donation in New York City

2024.06.02 06:19 Chemical-Base-9032 Mesalamine for ulcerative proctitis

I have recently been diagnosed with mild ulcerative proctitis at 22 years old, experiencing continuous blood/ mucus in my stool and constipation. Has anyone with a similar situation found success with Mesalamine suppositories? How long did it take to notice a difference? Did it worsen constipation or alleviate it?

2024.06.02 05:53 coffeequeenwithanE Dog help

I have never posted before only read post. But I'm desperate to find answers on what possibly is wrong with my puppy. To start this off, I got my baby when he was 4 weeks old, the mother stopped feeding the litter, so we got my baby and his sister also and bottle fed them until they were switched to wet food. I got their first set of shots in the middle of April. All was well and they both were normal puppies. One day I noticed my baby wasn't acting like his usual self. He felt hot, and wasn't playful with his sister. I took him to the vet and he was given a shot of antibiotics. (possibilities were, virus, ear infection, parvo, or a cold) two days later he was still hot and developed a limp and had a knot on the shoulder of the leg he wouldn't put weight on. I took my baby to a different vet that i thought would be more thorough. ( I felt judged, and dismissed by the first vet like it was my fault because they were due for the second rounds of shots and they were over due by a week). I informed the new vet that both puppies missed their second rounds of shots by a week due to a busy work schedule and plans to take them on my first day off which was the dog i noticed that my baby was sick. I told the new vet that the first vet had given a shot of antibiotics and the possible causes, and that now my baby has a new symptom of black goopy guck coming from his ears and still had a fever. I showed her the knot on his neck and the new one that had popped up over night, and his limping. The new vet made the diagnoses of just a really bad ear infection. So my baby was given an oral antibiotic, and pain meds for the limp and ear drops. The knot went down on his neck to pea size, all meds were about finished when we went back to the vet because he still had new ones popping up and new symptoms. He became to have sores on his snout and his eyes were swollen. Back to the vet we went. This time we got a diagnoses of PUPPY STRANGLES. This could explain every symptom he had. We got a refill on the antibiotics, steroids, and more ear meds. Since that day my baby has had multiple knots pop up, some in places where no lymph nodes are located. SIDE NOTE (Sister puppy was taken in to new vet also and got her second set of shots), we went back to the vet on Thursday the 30th. The knot of the side of his neck was the size of a golf ball if not bigger. (the babies are CHIWEENIE-YORKIE-TERRIERS) AS a small dog its was very noticeable. This trip the knot was ultrasound and the vet stuck a needle in it to see what fluid was in it to try and test it. IT was pus, but the back of the knot is a blood clot. Several of the knots are swollen lymph nodes, some are abscesses(without injury) and some are blood clots. The knot know has gone down since being drained. The back of the knot is still there and hard. (none of the knots are sore or he doesn't so any signs of discomfort when you touch or squeeze them). This time we left with a vitamin supplement and told to change his food. The vet is thinking he may have an autoimmune disease or deficiency. If this treatment doesn't work, the vet is going to put him to sleep, lance the knots and test the fluid in them. The vet only wants to do this as a last resort because he is little and we don't know what were dealing with. We are just perplexed on what this could be, also i have spoken with several online vets and called other local vets to see if that have heard of such thing in a puppy this age and they have all said the same thing. So that brought me here to this side of the internet. He is currently taking two antibiotics, a steroid, a vitamin supplement, and a new diet. Since seeing the new vet he was eating and drinking normally he has gained weight due to the steroids. He is playful and active. He doesn't act sick, but you can look at him and see he's doesn't feel well at times. Has anyone experienced this issue with a puppy and what causes and treatments were used. I am desperate for answers to make sure this baby is well taken care of. I am planning to order a DNA genetic test as well.

2024.06.02 05:50 _Mad_Maddy My Take on the Indigo Park Lore Part 3!

CONCLUSION
And finally, here’s the final part! If you have any thoughts, or any disagreements, comment down below! I’d love to discuss the game’s lore with you all!
At its heart, Indigo Park is a tragedy, one that would make both Shakespeare and the ancient Greeks proud. It starts off with the creator wanting nothing but good, but slowly devolves into a horrifying, downward spiral. After all, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.
Isaac Indigo has a dream of bringing his imagination to life, for people everywhere. The beginning of the twentieth century began horrendously, World War 1 being the deadliest conflict at the time. Wanting to help everyone and bring at least a spark of joy into their lives, Isaac Indigo launches headfirst into the media of his choice: cartoons.
Indigo comes up with his first permanent Mascot, Lloydford L. Lion. A loud, booming, rambunctious character, Lloyd sought to be the spark of happiness that Indigo hoped he would be. Lloyd would the very best actor, showman, and orator. He’s arrogant, but not pompous. He’s loud, but not with ill will. He’s the beginning of the cast that Indigo envisions, a character whose sole purpose is to please the world. It’s not a surprise that Lloyd is an actor, after all. He seeks to distract the world from its woes, at least for a bit, and make everyone have a good time.
Indigo, emboldened by his sudden fame and success, proceeds to churn out four more individuals: Rambley the Raccoon, Mollie the Macaw, Salem the Skunk, and, eventually, Finley the Sea Serpent, though he comes in separate from the other three.
Rambley Raccoon, a quick thinking, sharp tongued, cheeky little gremlin, is an instant hit with the people, becoming the second most popular character out of the five. Mollie Macaw, a happy-go-lucky bird with a love for the open skies, acts as Rambley’s best friend, the two practically glued together. Together, alongside Lloyd, these three represent the ‘good guys’, a trio that want nothing but the best for the people.
However, every hero needs a villain, and thus, Salem the Skunk was born, a snappy, malevolent little critter that wished for the world to revolve around herself. She has a knack for potion making, a capable chemist who uses her concoctions to bend the wills of others to herself, only for herself.
Rambley and Salem end up becoming fated rivals, nemeses who dislike each other the most, out of every character that Indigo created. Using Salem, Indigo would spread the message of peace, of friendship and everlasting bonds that always triumph against evil, and Salem.
This continuity continues for a period of time, Indigo eventually adding one more character to his roster: the melancholy sea dragon, Finley. Finley’s main goal was to be the educator, to explain the natural world around people and share the fascinating and the beautiful, especially in regard to the ocean, a concept still so unexplored, while also trying to appeal to an older crowd alongside Lloyd.
However, poor Finley wouldn’t ever be that popular amongst his peers. Perhaps it was his gloomy, exhausted aura that pushed people away, or perhaps it was his towering, and frankly scary, size, or even maybe because he was deemed boring by the youngest, who were more keen on Rambley, the character that appealed to them the most. Even the other characters, whether Indigo intended for this or not, seemed a bit annoyed by Finley, and often left him to his devices.
And, for a while, Indigo’s plan succeeded. His popularity and notoriety only increased as time went on, gaining him influence, money, and prestige. His plans were working! He was making a difference, making smiles appear on the faces of people who would otherwise be swept away by the woes of the world!
Everything started to crumble, however, when yet another horrifying conflict arose: World War II. The Old World was thrown into chaos, Europe, Africa, and Asia becoming the bloodiest battleground in human history, surpassing even the Great War that came before it.
So, Indigo concocted a scheme, a way to raise the spirits of those he could currently help, his fellow Americans. Indigo Park was to be his magnus opus, his monument that would transcend his lifetime. Here, all of his creations would gather, all of them having their own attractions, bringing a level of access that had never yet been realized before. Costumed people would walk around during operational hours, bringing his characters into the real world to interact with those that needed refuge from the outside horrors.
However, while his park became a success, spearheaded by Lloyd the Lion, the very first, there was something that bothered Indigo. These costumed performers, while certainly a stroke of genius, underperformed. Besides that, they sometimes broke character, and destroyed the immersion of the guests, and were quite costly to keep around, alongside the engineers, the logistics division, and the Ranglers that helped run Indigo Park. Not to mention, the cost of custom costumes, of fabric and materials, rose higher and higher as quotas began to be placed and maintained in the USA, due to the resources it sent to its allies overseas, before eventually joining their allies in the fight against evil.
If he couldn’t simulate his characters, why not make them? Animals that would be living, breathing creatures that would merely need care, compassion, and basic necessities? Hiring a bunch of the best scientists, he gave them a special role: The Royal Ranglers, those that would be entrusted with this secret project.
Indigo, while a creative man, didn’t understand science as well as these individuals, and likely never would, but he would make them keep logs, records of their successes and failures, of their many experiments. And eventually, their labor paid off: One of each character, Mascots, came to life. They breathed air, had red blood flowing through their veins, were real, physical creatures, but also remained gentle with the guests. Once they were unveiled, there was no longer a need for costumed performers to roam around Indigo Park. They could also be trained to perform shows of their own, such as Finley and Lloyd, while the others could supervise their respective districts! It was a win win!
However, not everyone was so pleased with the results. The performers that once roamed the streets found themselves without jobs, only some kept around to care for the new Mascots, their betters, their replacements. And that made them furious. Why should these abominations, these stupid, ugly freaks replace them? Behind Indigo’s back, these disgruntled employees would begin their revenge slowly, minimally. Withholding a small amount of the supplies the Mascots needed, occasional cruel words. As time went on, this turned into a coping mechanism, the treatment of the Mascots progressing into physical violence, vile, cutting words on the regular basis.
Sometime before this Lloyd would end up giving up the title of main character to Rambley, who had gained immense popularity, even more than Lloyd himself. While it annoyed the proud Lloyd to be first mate, he would hand over the title graciously, partially because Rambley had always been jealous of Lloyd’s popularity and fame, and maybe, just maybe, this change would do them all good. Their abuse had been escalating, much worse than any thought possible. Salem was the only one to oppose this decision, thinking that it was all only to the benefit of Rambley. Mollie was the opposite, supportive of her best friend. And Finley … well, there was no way to consistently speak with the reptile. He was always kept in Oceanic Odyssey, far away from their cages underneath Jetsream Junction. And besides, none of the four particularly … liked Finley. Sure, Rambley had befriended the sea serpent, but that was done moreso to have some rapport and sway over the gentle giant, who was much too shy, like, ~obnoxiously~ ~shy.~ He was always so gloomy, so pessimistic, so willing to accept whatever came his way. No, Finley was definitely not an agent of change, but of pitiful complacence, locked away with his prized shell collection.
However, things did not improve at all. In fact, it only got worse. Tension between the Mascots was at an all time high, Rambley having become hurtful to even his best friend Mollie. He was still suspicious of Lloyd, convinced the lion would steal back his position as ringleader. Salem and Rambley, and thus with Mollie, also began to sour drastically. Salem was convinced that Rambley wasn’t doing anything to help the five. After all, he and Mollie practically abandoned Finley, someone who they claimed was a ‘friend’. Lloyd too became frustrated with the raccoon, Salem whispering in his ears, convincing him that Rambley had only pushed for Lloyd’s demotion to finally be the one above Lloyd, to have more power.
Mollie was soon caught in the crossfire of a particularly intense feud, Salem and Lloyd on one side, Rambley by himself on the other. Rambley, her best friend in the whole wide world. Rambley, that same friend who would sometimes be mean to Mollie for no apparent reason. However, no matter what Rambley had done to their relationship, it wasn’t Rambley’s fault. It was one time when Lloyd became particularly aggressive that Mollie had to finally end this.
The fault does not belong to Rambley! “Not Rambley! He hurts Lloyd! He hurts Lloyd!”
And suddenly, it clicked for the Mascots. No matter how much some of the Mascots didn’t like each other, there was one person they all could agree to hate: Isaac Indigo. Their creator who had left the newborn animals to the mercy of vengeful, spiteful, horrible people who did nothing but spit upon and abuse the Mascots. It was decided that they would fight back. They would show those humans that they were not muzzled dogs, but barely contained predators.
The next time the Mascots were in the presence of these Ranglers, Lloyd finally snapped. It was a particularly brutal day, and Lloyd would suffer no longer. With a crippling roar, Lloyd launched himself at the Ranglers, the other Mascots following suit.
Isaac Indigo had walked into work expecting the day to be like usual, but it was to his horror that he learned of the Mascots attack upon their Ranglers. Calling a hasty evacuation, guests were shoved outside of the park with no explanation, no answers. Even the authorities would not be able to provide answers. No, they couldn’t learn of such a thing; it would ruin Isaac Indigo and all that he had worked for.
Temporarily, the entire park fell under the control of the Mascots, who were a bit shocked with how easy it was to win their freedom. However, their victory would not last. They all would suffer the consequences.
Lloyd was deemed the biggest threat to Indigo’s plans, so he had to be the one dealt with first. But how? The scientists that Indigo had hired came up with a plan; repurpose the Critter Cuffs to make a high enough pitch to incapacitate the lion, before locking him up for good in his theater. Alongside this, in order to better guarantee the safety of their people, a resuscitation feature had been added to potentially save an employee's life, if it came down to it.
Luring the beast to his stage area, the humans spring their trap, their Critter Cuffs wailing, racking Lloyd with so much pain that he couldn’t do anything but curl up into a ball. With the help of some engineers, they lock Lloyd in his own theater, a special clearance required to even access the area. This is where they toss most of the assets Indigo Park does not wish anyone see. Research papers, binders, notebooks, it’s all scattered here. And while here, Indigo decides to deal with Mollie Macaw as well.
Mollie is dangerous in that she knows planes and how to use them. They’re massive weapons, so, the way to disarm the bomb that is Mollie is to lock Jetstream Junction behind the Critter Cuffs, as well as a massive lock and key. The key itself would be stored at the very back of Lloyd’s theater, a place where only they would know to look. And once they seal the doors one final time, Mollie, Rambley, and Salem would have no access to it.
Finley would be left to his own devices; he’s contained in his attraction and as long as they don’t approach, they’ll be fine. The remaining Mascots can’t hide there forever either, and the humans know that. Even if Finley is a deterrent, the humans would eventually invent a way to deal with the serpent, who would be unwilling to resist for too long.
And thus, two Mascots were dealt with, one Mascot crippled. Only Salem and Rambley remained threats with their rides and arsenals, though Mollie is still dangerous with her sharp beak and claws.
After some time, Mascot Rambley and Salem decide to retreat further into Indigo Park, further away from the entrance. Their movements were too easy to track with that blasted Artificial Intelligence system watching through the bountiful cameras. Mollie, however, can’t bear to leave her home, her hangar. She tries to reason with the two others, but ultimately, no agreement can be reached. Salem and Rambley would withdrawn, and Mollie would come, if she wanted to.
Eventually, the two sneakiest Mascots, once sworn enemies, were now the only one the other could rely on. Now brother and sister, they tried their best to weather the storm, but were ultimately dealt with. Mollie, grief-stricken with the loss of her home and being abandoned by the ones she called friend, had no will to fight anymore.
This entire process took almost ten years, finally ending in 2015, while the park had been closed in 2006. Outside, people slowly forgot about the enigmatic end to the once beloved park, distracted by the rapid expansion of other sources of fun and media. Indigo, saddened by the fate of what he once thought of as his greatest achievement, didn’t have the heart to tear the place down. It was too dangerous, so he merely bribed the local authorities to close it off from curious onlookers. He would command the AI Rambley to have most of his files wiped concerning the fate of the park, wiping all data concerning the back and forth between humans and their experiments brought to life. He’d be restricted to the Registration Center, cut off from the actual park, and only present in one computer until Indigo found a way to salvage the situation. And that’s where Isaac Indigo left Indigo Park.
Mascot Mollie is left alone to wander the park, all her friends gone, missing. She stumbles into Rambley Railroad, the only place that she can see all her friends, before she stops at Salem’s exhibit. Eyes narrowing in hate, Mollie remembers that it was Salem that pushed and manipulated them all to fight back. If Salem hadn’t been there, none of this would have happened. This leads Mascot Mollie on a destructive rampage, wrecking the whole area as much as she could. She eventually stumbles upon an animatronic version of herself, which shocks her when it repeats Mollie’s own words, almost like snidely trying to hurt Mollie with her own words. “Not Rambley! He hurts Lloyd! He hurts Lloyd!” Once again angered, Mascot Mollie pounds upon the robot until the lights fade from its painted eyes, slumped in a pile of metal rods and broken brick. From there, Mascot Mollie leaves, vowing to stay away from the place.
However, what Indigo did not account for was an urban explorer duo that made it their life mission to explore a wide variety of places. Laura and Ed made quite the dynamic duo, always exploring what they wanted, where they wanted, how they wanted. Though they trespassed and sometimes even burgled, they were never caught by the authorities, and their concealed presences on their channel was enough for the two to not be charged and arrested.
However, the two found themselves in a weird limbo. All of their newest explorations lacked a certain ‘oomph’, with even their viewers noticing the lack of excitement and passion of the two. So, Ed decides to set his sights on a big fish: Indigo Park.
Laura, his partner, is instantly worried by Ed’s choice. All the places they went to before were practically abandoned, the maximum they had to worry about were old motion detectors and an occasional camera or two. Indigo Park, however, would most likely be very secure, swarming with cops, even, so she tries to dissuade Ed, but Ed only becomes more pumped to break inside. Resigned, Laura promised assistance if Ed could find a way inside. Ed finally goes to this famed Indigo Park, home of so many of his treasured memories as a child, intent on having all of his personal questions answered.
It is to his surprise that the place is so easy to slip into. All he had to do was avoid the occasional patrol car, climb a fence, and viola, he was there. The entrance gates being locked up, however, was a bummer, but maybe the Registration Center would have some information. It would be even more of a shock to discover an AI Rambley, the same that Indigo had locked there.
AI Rambley would guide Ed, the first visitor in exactly eight years, inside, Ed collecting all sorts of goodies, such as plushies, ears, drinking containers, and even a vintage Rambley costume mask. However, Ed is disappointed by the way the AI practically ignores the state of disrepair Indigo Park has fallen into.
Lured by the sudden sound of Rambley speaking Mascot Mollie rushes over; Rambley came back for her! But it is to her horror that it’s merely a mockery of Mascot Rambley, that old AI speaking to a human! Mollie, wary and frightened of the implications of this, decides to merely follow cautiously.
Following the directions of the AI, Ed travels through Rambley Railroad, fixing the ride when in breaks in the wrecked zone of Salem the Skunk, her cutout and props left in broken pieces. It is during this ride that Ed senses he’s not alone, and notices Mollie Macaw stalking him. However, she’s not threatening in any way, so he leaves her be. Why antagonize this … Mascot? Person? Ed doesn’t know what to think of her, but maybe, if he’s careful, he won’t have to deal with her.
Ed is then directed to Jetsream Junction, but is disappointed to find it locked away, not only by Critter Cuff, but also by lock and key. The AI mentions a key in Lloyd’s theater, though, so he heads that way. What Ed does not expect to find is Mascot Lloyd himself, dozing on the stage. Quickly noticing Ed’s presence, however, Lloyd flees, remembering all too well of the danger that humans posed to him.
Unfortunately, Ed is left without AI Rambley’s presence, and Lloyd is slowly but surely pushed farther back into his domain. Lloyd at one point tries to attack, but the lion is clumsy. Though he can’t die of thirst or hunger, he still suffers from their effects, his body weak and dirty. Lloyd then leaves and lets this man do whatever he wants. Maybe if Lloyd hides in a corner, the scary human won’t come for him.
However, he is soon consumed by anger when he realizes that Ed takes the keys to Jetstream Junction. He can’t let this human escape, he might try to go and hurt Mollie! She’s probably locked in there like he’s locked in here!
Lloyd attacks, or tries to, at least. The accursed Critter Cuff wails, its high-pitched waves causing Lloyd to be paralyzed with pain. Once the sound stops, Lloyd runs away, his fears of torture reignited as he is subjected to pain he had not faced for almost twenty years.
Mascot Mollie, always lurking, heard the Critter Cuff go off, and she draws her conclusions well; Lloyd tried to fight the human, but was driven back, hurt and embarrassed in his own territory. From here, Mollie’s old, unresolved anger begins to build, following Ed as he opens up Jetstream Junction, much to her surprise. At first, she’s delighted. Finally, her old domain is open! She explores the place, running into Ed as they both take notice of one another. Perhaps she’ll let Ed go; he did do her a favor, after all.
But that notion is soon dissolved as she watched Ed run about the place like he owns it, Mollie’s anger mounting as he goes deeper into her home. Finally, she has enough. She attacks Ed, chasing him through the halls and tunnels Mollie so loves. Unfortunately, this final act turns out to be Mascot Mollie’s last. Just as she lunges for him, her head gets severed from her body by a metal door, her blood coating it and the surrounding environment bright red.
It is from here that AI Rambley is forced to acknowledge that this is not his familiar Indigo Park; it’s old and worn, the Mascots that once made people laugh now try to hunt them down. He forgets that they were abused because those files were wiped from him, and Mascot Mollie’s cries are very hard to discern as the echoes and Mascot Mollie’s own voice is ruined by age.
AI Rambley decides his best course of action is to enlist Ed’s help to repair the whole theme park. After all, he has all the information on how to go about it in his database, it just requires a physical body to do, something that the AI sorely lacks. And so, AI Rambley directs Ed toward the first place they need to kick back up: Oceanic Odyssey, home of the Mascot Finley. Perhaps this shy, reclusive sea snake won’t be trying to kill Ed.
On the way, though, Ed nearly stumbles upon the laboratories where the Mascots were made, so the AI makes sure to block that avenue. Ed was AI Rambley’s only hope of success, he wasn’t risking the man run away in terror from the sights and notes that likely were down there.
Ed finally reaches the Oceanic Odyssey attraction, pushing open the doors and following AI Rambley inside, catching a glimpse of a long, green, sea dragon in one of the aquariums …
END
Well, that’s about it! 12k words and 24 pages in, and I only covered the first chapter. Hoo boy …
I don’t think I need to reiterate that this is what I think happened, canonically. There will obviously be some wrong information due to the limited evidence I have to work with, and I intentionally remained vague during certain parts.
Despite that, I am very confident in a few ideas, such as the Mascot uprising, the weaponization of the Critter Cuff specifically against Lloyd the Lion, and the secret laboratories hidden behind that Royal Ranger Room area.
If you have any ideas of your own, let me know as well! I would love to theorize about some things that all of you think as well!
Also a huge shoutout and thank you to the creator of Indigo Park, Mason Myers, or UniqueGeese. The guy is insanely talented, considering this took him only one year to do. ONE! I can’t want to see the twists and turns he has to offer.
See you all later in Chapter 2! - Maddy

Possible TW for descriptions of poop
My stools have not been looking healthy lately. For the past month and a half I’ve been pooping bright, red blood every other time I use the toilet. I’m seeing lots of undigested food in my poop and my turds are completely coated in mucus that makes the toilet water cloudy. My abdominal pain has increased significantly as well. I reached out to my GI doc but she probably won’t get back to me until Monday or Tuesday. I haven’t checked the scale either because I’m scared I’m loosing weight again.
Is there anything I can do to remedy this, even if it’s for a little while? I’m not doing or eating anything different than I usually do. I’m just so confused and worried.

2024.06.02 05:28 Friendly_Common8258 My experience

hi everyone. i am finishing day 11 today and thought i would share my experience for anyone else just starting to go through it. im a 22y/o female for reference. ive always had a pretty high pain tolerance, i played a soccer tournament with a broken arm and didnt know it had been broken until i fell on it again and it snapped… but this experience seriously brought me hell on earth. this recovery was so draining because one day id feel good which gave me hope, just to feel like im swallowing glass and lava the next day. something important to note, i figured this recovery would be worse later on so i drank all the water i could in the beginning which i am so grateful that i did. i ended up losing 10 lbs in 9 days. days 1-2 were not awful. just super high on the pain meds still and didnt have too much to report. I ate chicken pot pie soup on day 2, just for that taste to sit in my scabs until they came off. it made me extremely nauseous. the antibiotic my surgeon gave me made me sick the second night. i was fighting for my life. i kept swallowing puke coming up because i knew how bad it would’ve hurt to throw up. days 3-4 were not great. first days i took my hydrocodone. day 4 started getting pretty bad. keep in mind I didn’t get any sleep any night more than an hour until night 10. ate bread with butter on it and put it in microwave. I lived off of gogurts. super easy for me to eat. my breath was horrendous. I brushed my teeth probably 40 times through all of these 2 weeks. days 5-6 were each different. day 5 was not bad at all. woke up and had french toast!! day 6 was the start to an awful next few days. my scabs started to fall off this day. because I was so hydrated, my scabs just dissolved off, they never fell off dry and i never felt them coming off. had a small small amount of blood in my spit, but went away within 1 minute. days 7-8 my scabs were still falling off. by day 8 they were almost all gone. chewing ice this day or drinking cold water was super sensitive. the ear pain started kicking in high throttle and I was in so much pain. the ear pain was just searing and it got worse with every swallow. i was so exhausted mentally and physically at this point. and so hungry but no appetite. days 9-10 also totally different. day 9 was peak pain for me. i was up balling my eyes out for most of the morning. nobody warned me how bad my liquid hydrocodone would burn my fresh skin when i took it. it was the worst pain ive ever felt. then the ear pain was even worse day 9. felt very dehydrated and was at my wits end. day 10 woke up and it just felt like strep throat. which is still painful, but not even comparable to the pain i had been in. I ate a taco the night of day 10. day 11 (today) felt about the same as day 10. I ate chicken nuggets and fries!! it’s weird cause stuff doesn’t taste the same to me for some reason. probably just loss of appetite overall. i’ll feel even better tomorrow!! didn’t take any hydrocodone today. I never got an infection or anything. just remember to set alarms to drink water and stay on top of your pain medicine. that’s where I messed up. I would go 6 hours instead of 3-4 and it made things way worse for me. The hydrocodone literally saved my life. overall, everyone has a different experience, but mine was pretty brutal. just hang in there and stay hydrated.
