Free chests everyday, free upgrade resources in events, that crucial free revive on losing a round, rerolling when you get unwanted shades, all of this is gone now with this new update. Already Shades had its own problems with the absurd difficulty scaling of Act III, the nonsense rewards of golden chests, and also this May's event rerun, and now a full removal of getting stuff from ads is just like the final nail in the coffin for f2p players. Everything is gem-walled now, and the game is literally asking you to spend real money, to have sensible progress, and no one's liking this. I've been playing SF since like 8 years and 2024 is already starting to be the worst year - Nekki literally killed what could be their golden goose, in an attempt of greed. We went from an average of roughly 3 million shares being traded daily to almost 800 million shares traded in just the last 2 weeks. We saw the stock rally to a near high of $80.00, with the Shorts throwing just about everything they had at their disposal to bring it down and prevent a squeeze. GameStop is highly illiquid, with 75.3 million shares DRS by individual shareholders, Insiders holding 53 million, and Insitutional, Mutual Fund and ETFS holding 102.2 million leaving only 74.1 million shares unregistered for all other individual investors who cannot (registered accounts outside of the U.S) or have not DRS their shares. [Source reference DRSGME]. As of this Thursday May 16, 2024 the ORTEX FINRA reported shares on loan was 81.87 million shares. Reported Short interest was 64.23 million or 23.58% of free float and that percentage does not account for the DRS shares that cannot be borrowed against. This would result in an additional 2.7 Billion in cash. Gamestop can invest this cash (with the existing 1 Billion, estimating 3.7 Billion at 5% for just GIC rates, this is a profit of 185 Million dollars a year profit on investments alone) and now has a huge arsenal at its disposal for acquisitions or other growth strategies for the long term viability and growth of the company. S-3ASR This prospectus covers: "We may offer and sell, from time to time, one or any combination of the securities we describe in this prospectus. The preferred stock, depositary shares, warrants, purchase contracts, units and subscription rights may be convertible into or exercisable or exchangeable for our common stock, our preferred stock or our other securities." With GameStop now being profitable they are in a position to issue dividends. However, until profit is larger and proven sustainable this does not make the best business sense. Plus, while expensive, Shorts can cover the dividend. This prospectus covers other options GameStop may capitalize on to reward their shareholders - and potential wipe out the Shorts. A digital dividend, NFT-like unit, warrant subscription or carve-out (eg. of aquisition/invetment hold-co) is a consideration that could be Check.Mate for the Shorts! If I want to go into the restaurant and order a taco, the only limits on my behavior are those I impose on myself out of a desire to be normal and not be a dick. But if I access the taco place's public API through the iOS app (gross, what the fuck), my message is restricted to the specific form the API requires.
The new web is characterized by a client-server model backed by infrastructure giants like AWS and Google Cloud. For the vast majority of internet users, all economic and social activity passes through one of a few platforms, a sort of digital kindergarten where your life is totally owned by whoever built the sandbox. This model brought the disappearance of free-form communication and an increasingly restricted online life circumscribed by the very same tech giants. The simple fact that most of these companies have "trust and safety" divisions implies that they feel a paternalistic responsibility to care for us and protect us on the computer. Like babies. Naturally, much like a real baby, the main things people like to do on the new internet are babble and ask other people to bring them food.
The trend toward flat, colorful minimalist interfaces built on React Native also reflects the move towards a baby-friendly internet. Even the buttons have rounded corners to protect your soft little skull in case you trip and hit your head.
This might be explained by inclusiveness. In the pursuit of maximum growth aka maximum inclusion, maybe we had to make interfaces so simple a toddler could use them. Hi, I (36f) am in a relationship with a 50 year old man now for about 5 years. Don't judge he's great. He helps cook, clean, does yardwork, loves me and my son and my 2 cats and dog. He helps take care of us and i feel safe with him. He moved in with myself and my son last October. I have one teenage son, and he has 5 adult kids, 2 grandkids, and 1 more grandkid on the way. I love kids that's not the issue. I'm having a hard time with the 18-22 year old kids, there are 3. I feel like he babies them I do not raise my son like that. For example this past week his daughter (22) stayed with us while she's doing an internship. I love her very much. But Every day when I get home from work there are dishes in the living room on the kitchen table and the room she's staying in is trashed. I bring it up to him nicely tonight, she left today for 5 days then will be back. The spare room looks like a bomb went off. Now my 14 year old sons room is not perfect ok but I get on him about it or he's grounded and he's also 14 so yeah struggle is real his clean is there is a path on the floor unless I take his phone. I nicely say to my SO am I allowed to ask his daughter to pick up after herself and tidy up the spare room? He says yes. I say will this affect her and my relationship or would you like to say something to her? His response is "there are so many other things in life to be worried about you could've just picked up the clothes" so I'm pissed naturally because I am not a maid I am not even my sons maid he picks up his damn dishes and starts laundry and I'm sorry but he lives here and that is his room so if it's not perfect whatever I shut the door. Am I an asshole for expecting his adult children to at least pick up after themselves and respect our house? He makes me feel like I'm overreacting but he has zero expectations for his kids it's so effing irritating. I feel like I'm ruining out relationship because he gets irritated when I bring up stuff like this. Is it worth the fight? Should I just learn to live with it? He also still gives all of them money. And we're struggling at our house. He just says he has to learn at his own pace eventually he'll start charging them rent eventually he'll stop giving them 100$ a week. Ahhhhhh my parents booted me out at 18. Another example is his sons grad party there were 5 of us running around prepping cooking cleaning including my son and his was playing video games the whole time... Another one we're on vacation in Mexico with 3 of his kids and my son, his son wakes up, myself and my SO had made a big breakfast, he asks what it is and says nah could you just make me a bowl of cereal? Like what and my SO reached for the bowls! You are 18 you have legs get your own bowl of cereal. Ahhhh why does this piss me off so much! Please help. Do I need help or to communicate this better? I told him I feel taken advantage of and that a lot is expected of me.

Hardware seems very old and was thinking of maybe just salvaging the case? or should I just upgrade some things over time for cheap since some of it might be ok? I'm not sure as I honestly don't even know where I would start and or don't have the knowledge in any of this to make a decent decision.
Intel i5-4670k, 16GB of RAM, MSI Z87-G45 Gaming with a GTX 760
Is it even worth it? I don't mind putting money into it if I can run some games for a couple years. I'd like to play some PC games like old times and even if I dump 600 into, i'm still ahead, no?

I feel that if we had the ability to stock a storage type container with items to share at a base, we could make our bases a shop or a resource destination. This could be monetized by units or given free like harvesting or collecting mining yields.
It could enrich the game in a new direction and add a benefit to base building. I already have a hospitality center, a dairy and a few dispensaries. It would be cool to have a registry of transaction.
This could go a lot of places. What do think? Can you expand on this idea?

On avengers there’s that wheel in the topish/middle of the playfield and on the machine I was playing on the ball would get stuck frequently. The player would either tilt it to get it free or wait and then the ball would “time out” and the next player would essentially get a multiball.
Is this a feature of the game or something with the machine itself?

Okay so I binged Seven Keys and finished it, and I gotta say? Pretty damn fun. It's not a "Nancy Drew" game like the others, but it's still an enjoyable experience with nods to older games. (Like Hotchkiss' book and the Whale World sticker on a laptop.)
I actually liked the modern free-movement scheme. There was a sprint option and it was hilarious.
Honestly? It's a good game. Has some flaws, and I personally would like more tinkery type puzzles where you're manipulating an object, but it really was a step up from Midnight.
I kinda hope we get more along this line.
