Law & Order: Crimes Against Plants - Episode # 537
I drenched my plant in neeeeem, power washed it, unpotted it, power washed it's roots and then dipped them in bleach. Why is it dying?

2024.05.19 00:45 MorganRose78 Ravensbrook pt. 1

In the small town of Ravensbrook, there was an old tale whispered among the children and shunned by the adults. It was about the Witch of Briar Hollow, a story meant to scare misbehaving kids, but the truth was more sinister than any legend.
Eliza Blackwood was a recluse who lived deep in the woods, in a house that seemed to blend into the shadows. Her presence was marked by an eerie quietness that settled over the trees when she was near. She had no visitors, and the only sign of life were the crows that circled her home.
One autumn, a group of teenagers, eager for a thrill, dared each other to visit Eliza’s house on Halloween night. They gathered at the edge of Briar Hollow as the sun dipped below the horizon, turning the sky into a bruised palette of purples and blacks.
Armed with flashlights and false bravado, they made their way through the dense forest, the path becoming less distinct with each step. The trees seemed to close in around them, and the air grew thick and still. Finally, they saw it—the crooked, weather-beaten house of Eliza Blackwood.
Despite their nerves, they pushed forward, each step crunching on the dead leaves like a chorus of whispered warnings. The door, surprisingly, was ajar, as if expecting visitors. They stepped inside, the floorboards creaking under their weight. The house was dark, the air stale, filled with the scent of herbs and something unidentifiable.
In the dim light of their flashlights, they saw jars lining the shelves, filled with strange, twisted roots and things they couldn’t name. An old, leather-bound book lay open on a table, its pages covered in indecipherable symbols.
Suddenly, the door slammed shut, plunging them into darkness. Their flashlights flickered and died. Panic set in as they fumbled to find their way out. But the house seemed to shift, the walls closing in, the air growing colder.
A voice, soft and raspy, filled the room. “You seek to mock me, children?”
They turned towards the voice, and there she was—Eliza Blackwood. Her eyes were dark pits, her skin as pale as the moonlight that struggled to seep through the boarded windows. She moved with an unnatural grace, her feet barely touching the ground.
“Do you know what happens to those who trespass?” she whispered, her voice like the rustling of dead leaves.
Before they could respond, the room filled with an oppressive force. The air grew thick and heavy, pressing down on their chests. They tried to scream, but no sound came out. One by one, they fell to the ground, unconscious.
When they awoke, they were no longer in the house but scattered across the forest floor, as if they had been thrown from the place. Dazed and terrified, they ran back to town, vowing never to speak of what happened.
But the encounter had left its mark. Over the following days, strange things began to occur. One by one, the teenagers vanished, leaving no trace. The townspeople whispered of Eliza’s curse, of how she claimed those who disturbed her peace.
Years passed, and the tale of the Witch of Briar Hollow became a cautionary legend once more. But the townspeople knew the truth—that deep in the woods, Eliza Blackwood still watched, still waited, and those who dared to seek her out would never return.
And sometimes, on a quiet night, if you listen closely, you can hear the whispers of the lost souls, warning others to stay away from Briar Hollow, where the witch’s curse still lingers, and her hunger for vengeance remains unsatisfied.

2024.05.18 20:53 B_rosexo DIY nail oil infusion help/question

Hello, does or has anyone here made dried herb/flower oil infusions at home for nail oil?
I made a dried herb oil infusion with dried herbs and flowers (didn't use any wet/water containing ingredients) using castor oil and grape seed oil as the carrier oils and I added a small amount of vitamin E oil..
I then used a heat method to infuse them because I needed an oil right away..
I need/want something right away that would be moisturizing but also anti fungal and anti bacterial that's why I thought an oil infusion would be great because of the state of my nails right now.. I really wanted to use something natural and not those nail strengthening slash anti fungal/bacterial nail products that smell like polishes an are mainly just chemicals because my nails need a break from them..
So l put the herbs/flowers in an air tight jar and used a crockpot on warm for 4 and a half hours to infuse it.. I then strained it, which i didn’t strain it the best there was still some tinyy pieces left but I didn’t think it would be a big deal so I left it, then last night I saw a video saying you don’t want to leave any plant matter at all?
But so I put it in amber bottle with a dropper because I read that’s the best way to store it.. I made it 7 days ago and last night I was just looking at the oil in the bottle and I noticed it's a little hazy, had something gathered on the bottom and has some hazy looking piece thing in there (idk how to describe it😭) that I'm now a bit stressed wondering is this oil bad?? Does it need to just be shaken up? Does that happen where it just needs to be shaken??
I didn’t use it yesterday at all because I don’t wanna be rubbing bad oil on my nails but now I’m a little stressed and upset.
How does it go bad that fast? Is that possible? I wish I knew what I did wrong because I wanna make more now.. and so I’ve been trying to find somewhere to maybe get some answers on how do you preserve an oil like this so it doesn’t go bad in 7 days and you’re just wasting oil?? Are there some tips/tricks on how to preserve and overall avoid oil becoming bad or growing bacteria?
When I try to google this stuff it’s a little confusing. A lot of my searches get results of google thinking I’m talking about oil infusions you’d be eating which I’m not. Plus some things say infusions last a week others say up to a year and so I’m confused.
I apologize for the length of this. I’ve tried posting in a few places on Reddit and had no luck getting an answer. So if anyone could help it’d be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

2024.05.18 19:04 Elninhorm Hsv2 getting worse

Hi everyone, I got HSV2 on October first time. Then I had an outbreak on December, then another on February and I went to a dermatologist who gave me Valacyclovir for 7 days. After 2 months at the end of April I had an outbreak but I didn’t take any antiviral pill just ice on the skin around penis. This week after 3 weeks since the last outbreak I got another one and I started taking immediately valacyclovir. I’m getting depressed because I’m 29 years old, I follow a straight diet, I workout 5/week and I take as supplements vitamin C,D, multivitamin and lysine. I don’t know what to do! Can’t have a girl with this frequent outbreaks, I don’t even want to take everyday for life an antiviral considering all possible side effects. Doing research on Reddit I saw many things from doing a VZV vaccine to using an AHCC supplement, or even using some herbs like oregano oil. What’s the truth? What’s the advice from someone here in the community that reduce all OBs without using antiviral? Help me please

2024.05.18 13:41 Majestic_Dig1654 Herbs and benefits

Herbs and benefits
1- If you want to sleep, soak a lettuce leaf in hot water until it cools down and drink it, as it is a mild sedative and hypnotic. If you want something stronger than that, then you should take the saintly herb. If you want to sleep without medication, ask forgiveness more, as the devil will hasten your sleep so that you will not reap more good deeds.
2- You suffer from a general failure in the body that you do not know the cause of. You should drink rosemary tea and do not drink too much of it
You have general weakness caused by a lack of vitamins, so you should use molokhiya, as it is very rich in vitamins and minerals and does not lose its properties with excessive boiling. Sesame is also a tonic, and sesame and moringa are a good nutritional supplement, even for pregnant women.
3- If you suffer from anemia, do not eat lentils without drops of lemon in them. The iron in lentils does not benefit the body without acid. Molokhiya is also rich in minerals, and palmetto and spinach are also useful.
4- If you suffer from gases, you should use chamomile, anise, black lemon, or mint of all kinds, but do not eat them in large quantities, as these types reduce blood pressure.
5- If you suffer from constipation, you should eat peeled apples or senna, but do not eat too much of them. Dates are also beneficial, and green tea is beneficial.
6- If you suffer from fatty liver, you should use pumpkin juice to find results in less than a month
7- Jaundice or mullein. Sprinkle the juice of the tamarisk herb in the nose, which will remove it in two days. Or eat goat meat or pigeons smoked on the leaves of the tar tree.
If he is an infant, spread a thin melissa leaf (Yemeni Sidr) leaf under his bed and let him sleep on the bed, and it will usually go away in three days. This is what is proven in herbal medicine.
7- If your husband suffers from weakness and is embarrassed, if your blood pressure is moderate, then you should take whey herb and ginseng mixed with honey, with onion, pumpkin and carrot seeds added, and if you want it to be stronger, add royal jelly.
As for the diabetic patient, he should take zinc, which will benefit him in this, or dates, which are a tonic, and the sugar fructose generates the necessary energy without the need for insulin, as explained by Dr. Abdel Basit Al-Sayed in his book Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine, Part 2.
8- As for the woman, she should take anise or soybean tea, as they raise the estrogen hormone, and fenugreek is also a stimulant. If she does not feel any feelings for her husband at all, this is due to a lack of iodine, and her cycle is often disturbed, accompanied by headaches.
9- If you suffer from severe depression, anxiety, and sadness, you should recite the Prophet’s Talbinah, as its results are amazing. The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: (It calms the heart and removes some sadness.)
It is also beneficial for the beauty of the face, and for permanent facial beauty, you should use the mate herb (Levantine Map), as it stimulates collagen in the skin.

2024.05.18 11:45 samedude8288 21M with Persistent Inguinal and Testicular Discomfort, Ejaculation Issues - Seeking Advice

Hi all,
I'm a 21-year-old male, and I'm experiencing some persistent discomfort that I could use some advice on.
About a month ago, after performing a lumbar exercise, I started feeling discomfort in my inguinal area. This discomfort became more pronounced when I stretched my abdomen. Initially, it stayed the same for three days, but then I began to feel discomfort behind my left testicle. This discomfort, which sometimes feels like mild pain, worsens when I cough, laugh, or speak loudly.
Here are some additional symptoms and observations:
I've had an ultrasound of both the inguinal area and the testicles. The doctor noted a weakened wall in the inguinal region, which he said is causing pressure on the spermatic cord, but he confirmed that it is NOT a hernia. The ultrasound of the testicles showed slight swelling in the left testic but no fluid buildup, no cysts, and good blood flow.
Four weeks have passed, and the discomfort persists. I took antibiotics for two weeks without any effect. However, I found that anti-inflammatory medication (ibuprofen) provided some relief.
Currently, I feel bloated on the left side of my lower abdomen and still have discomfort in my left testicle. There are no lumps or swelling in the abdomen, just a sensation that comes and goes.
While the discomfort seems to be improving slowly, I'm particularly concerned about the changes in my ejaculation.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any advice on what might be going on? Any suggestions on what I should do next or what kind of specialist I should see?
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I've been taking some supplements(before this incident), and the doctor assured me they are not the cause of these issues, but I thought it might be relevant to mention.

Spearmint works well for me and it works quickly. But it seems to be causing me some reflux. Apparently it can relax the lower esophageal sphincter and open the doors to reflux. Would there maybe be a way I can continue spearmint but take some medication to prevent this?
Alternatives I've tried or looked into:

2024.05.17 23:43 bungaloid2000 Detailed Trip Report: May 11-15, 2024

For anyone who is interested, here is a detailed report of our days at Disney World this May! For this trip it was just me and my 8 year old son; husband and older son had to stay home for school and band.
I thought it would be lower crowds in May but it still seemed very crowded! The weather wasn’t my favorite either, it was either very hot or storming for the days we were there.
I do a LOT of planning in advance and use Genie + and Individual Lightning Lanes (ILLs), so we didn’t end up having to wait long for anything! We got 3-day park hopper tickets so we could do all 4 parks in 3 days. Information shared by everyone online helped me a lot in planning so I hope this report can help someone too!
Day 1 (Sat): Arrival at Pop Century
Got a ride from Tiffany Towncar from MCO airport, and arrived right around 3 pm. I reserved a preferred room but we got the 70s building instead of 60s, and it was a little further from the skyliner. We enjoyed the room, but it would have been tight if all 4 of us went. We went to the pool, they also had tie-dye shirt making and a campfire but my son preferred just to swim. He made some friends and had a great time. Mobile ordered some dinner at Everything Pop.
Day 2 (Sun): Hollywood Studios - Mother’s Day!
Woke up before 7 and purchased Genie +, booked Slinky Dog Dash, and ILLs for Rise of the Resistance at 11 and Cosmic Rewind at 5:45 pm. I modified Slinky Dog once it got to the evening time I wanted, around 7 pm. They don’t show you the LL times between 7-7:30 am which is super annoying!
Showed up for the skyliner at about 7:20, and there was quite a line (it started running at 7:30). We got to Hollywood Studios and through security by 8:00 or so, and then they let us in to make our way to Rise of the Resistance. No wait at all, and we were in the attraction by 8:20, and done by 8:30. We got to do Millennium Falcon with no wait either. Rey was out when we got off the ride, and we got to talk to her. Went over to Dok Ondar’s, my son wanted a new sith Kyber crystal - since we were there early, we got to talk a lot with the cast members there about the holocrons and such, that was fun! Got some blue and green milk (and some little sweet rolls they had), as well as cocoa puff iced coffee at Kat Saka’s. Some storm troopers and a First order commander came out and interacted; my son had a toy Darksaber with him, so they threatened to confiscate his unauthorized weapon :) Picked up a breakfast Ronto wrap and snagged a photo in front of one of the ships.
Next I had planned to do both Muppets and Star Tours before the Frozen show at 10:30, but we were running behind so just went straight to the show at around 10:10. I loved it! My son not so much, he’s not too into the shows.
After Frozen we headed back to Rise to use our Lightning Lane and go on it again! I was planning around it possibly being down, but it was up both times we rode it! After that we built custom droids at Droid Depot (reservation for 11:50), and played with them for a bit outside. It started to rain so I had to get some plastic bags to carry them, as they just give you cardboard cases that wouldn’t be good if they got wet! I wanted to see the First Order show at 12:30, but I guess they don’t come out when it’s raining so we missed that one. Got more blue and green milk and did some Datapad games, and looked in the shops. We really enjoyed Galaxy’s Edge!
Next we went to go meet Darth Vader (did the Disney Visa one which has no wait at all) and BB-8, took our droids out to show them.
Then we went to Star Tours, got a Kashyyyk mission/show with Ahsoka. Lunch at Sci Fi Drive-in at 1:40, which was a Fantasmic dining package thing. Enjoyed our meal - son is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts and most places were very accommodating about it.
Went back to the room for a break for about 2 hours.
We both love Cosmic Rewind, so at about 5:00 we took the skyliner over to Epcot just to ride it! It was a loooong walk through mobs of people at Epcot but totally worth it! Row 5 rules! We got Disco Inferno as the song, same as when we rode it 2 years ago.
Hoofed it all the way back to International Gateway, and caught the boat back to Hollywood Studios, aiming to be there about 7 pm.
All day I had been reserving LLs every 2 hours, and modifying the times to stack them up. So we grabbed a quick photo pass photo, then went on Mickey and Minnie’s Railway, Slinky Dog Dash (so fun!), Alien Swirling Saucers (not very fun), and Toy Story Mania all in a row. Headed down towards Fantasmic, and grabbed some great meat and potato waffle bowls at Fairfax Fare to eat while we waited for the show to start. Got reserved seating with the dining package, but we were still advised to arrive 8:20-8:30 for the 9 pm show. Fantasmic was wonderful! Skyliner had a line getting home but moved quickly. Met some nice people on the way home!
Missed out on Muppets and the First Order show, but it was a great day! We were already worn out from all the walking :)
Day 3 (Mon): Animal Kingdom and Epcot
Animal Kingdom opened at 7:30, so we woke up very early and got the bus. We arrived at Animal Kingdom around 7 I think.
7 am booked Kilimanjaro Safaris for 8:15, and ILLs for Flight of Passage (FOP) at 8 and Cosmic Rewind for the evening.
I was debating whether to rush to FOP to be able to go on it twice, but we weren’t up for hustling over there and I didn’t want to delay our whole plan if it ended up having a wait.
So we went to Navi River first, then enjoyed an empty Pandora and got a stuffed pancake and a pineapple cream cheese roll at Pongu Pongu - we weren’t really fans of either. At 8 we used our ILL for FOP and got right on, we love that attraction!! Shopped at the Pandora store and my son got a glowing spear thing (that broke down to fit in his backpack).
Then we headed up to Africa for the Safaris. Booked a LL for the Lion King show. Did the Gorilla Falls trail pretty quickly, saw the meerkats and gorillas.
Grabbed a frozen lemonade for son, then went to the amazing Lion King show. Booked a LL for Kali River Rapids.
Then we did the Rafiki’s Planet Watch, which we had never done before. The petting zoo was pretty small. We walked around the place for a bit, got to ask a cast member about how they feed the painted dogs and she had so much interesting info. Took the train back, then grabbed some food at 8 spoon cafe - mac and cheese with BBQ beef on top was great! Ate it while we enjoyed the Viva Gaia music and dancing at 11:45.
Went to Dinosaur which I had also gotten a LL for (grabbed an orange-swirl Dole Whip at Trilo-Bites on the way!), but unfortunately it went down while we were waiting. So we went ahead over to Kali River Rapids. Son got soaked! We could have put ponchos but we knew we were going back for a break right after. We considered staying for Feathered Friends at 1:30, but decided just to see the macaws at Winged Encounters at 1:15 instead and head back to the room a little earlier.
Nice break in the room, I took a much-needed nap.
At around 4:30-5 got on the skyliner to Epcot, but a storm was coming in and we got stranded at the Caribbean Beach station. After about 30 minutes of waiting there they brought a bus to take us to Epcot…people were pretty grouchy, and it was raining hard so we got pretty wet also. Made it to Epcot and went to Soarin and Living with the Land, which I had reserved LLs for. I was able to snag a LL for Remy for like 7:30, but we didn’t end up being able to use it.
Then we did Cosmic Rewind again around 7 pm using our ILL. This time we got “I Ran” as the song. That coaster is the most fun I’ve ever had on a ride!! And I don’t even like roller coasters. Son shopped at Wonders of Xandar, got a hat. Then we had to eat so we went to Connections - I had put in a mobile order in advance, but it still took like 30 min to get food so we ended up missing our Remy LL. Stopped at Club Cool, son got a frozen lemonade with soft serve on top :) Then we watched the awesome light show on the big ball, and made our way over to get a spot for Luminous, at the front of world showcase. It was wonderful!
You could see lightning around so I was very worried about taking the skyliner back after what happened that afternoon, plus the line was pretty crazy. So we ended up walking to Boardwalk resort and getting a Lyft back to Pop. That worked out well and let us get back sooner for more sleep!
Day 4 (Tues): Epcot and Magic Kingdom
Boy were we tired! It was hard to get my son going in the morning.
7 am booked Test Track for 9:45 am, and ILLs for Tron and 7 Dwarves. I really wanted to do an ILL for Cosmic Rewind again but they only allow you 2; and the virtual queue is just too unpredictable for me, plus still potentially a long wait.
We actually took a Lyft to Boardwalk again in the morning instead of trying to take the skyliner to Epcot. Skyliner worked well for Hollywood Studios, but it was kind of long to Epcot and we wanted to rope drop Remy. We walked from Boardwalk to Epcot (grabbed a coffee on the way) and were there by 7:45 am for an 8:30 am early entry opening. I was actually the first person to scan into Epcot that day lol, at least from the International Gateway. They let us in the park, but kept us at a couple of different points before finally allowing us to line up for Remy at about 8:20. It didn’t seem like they started the ride until right at 8:30. Lines were already insane at that point, but we were toward the front and got right on. Remy is cute - I didn’t notice any of the smells people talk about. Not sure it’s worth the hassle to be able to ride it though.
After Remy we lined up to get into Les Halles for breakfast, which opened at 9. Oh man the smell in that bakery in the morning!! Got egg croissants and a beignet (after talking to attendants about son’s allergies), both were amazing. Grabbed a photo pass photo and walked down toward Test Track, exploring Canada and UK on the way. Test Track had a bit of a wait even with the LL, but at least it was running! Son really enjoyed it. I booked a LL for Big Thunder Mtn for later in the day. After Test Track we considered Mission Space, but didn’t want to wait 30 min for the green side, so just explored the Advanced Training Lab. Then we did Project Tomorrow under Spaceship earth, and then the Aquarium in the Seas area. Walked through Journey of Water as well.
Then we headed up to visit some of the countries. Did Gran Fiesta Tour, and caught Mariachi Cobre at 12:00. The wind suddenly got crazy and you could tell a storm was coming (just when we were about to head back to Pop on the skyliner :/ ) I mobile ordered a pretzel bread pudding at Sommerfest, which was delicious! Then the storm hit. Everyone took cover indoors, we went into the Japan area and walked around the shop and art gallery to wait it out. After about 30 min it was safe to go outside again, and we were exhausted so headed for the exit (grabbed a steam bun from the Japan booth for son on the way, and frushi which I didn’t care for). The skyliner was closed, and I didn’t feel safe getting on it anyway, so - you guessed it! Walked to Boardwalk and got a Lyft back to Pop to rest.
Had a nice long break, then headed to Magic Kingdom on the bus around 4:00. Big Thunder had gone down during my LL time and the LL disappeared, but it showed up in the My Day area as an Experience pass (took me a while to find it). I also booked LLs every 2 hours for Magic Kingdom rides, and updated the times through the day by Modifying, so we were able to do all of these in a row with no waiting:
My son is all about the rides, so this was the best way for us to enjoy MK on this trip even though it was only half a day! Then we checked in for the Post-fireworks dessert party at around 8:40 and got a good spot for the fireworks. Sat on the ground until the show started at 9:20. I loved it! We got a couple of desserts, again after consulting with the chef about son’s allergies, and I had a pog-juice mimosa. I figured the bus line would be down after being at the dessert party for a while, but when we got to the Pop bus area there were like 300 people waiting there. At least 10 buses worth of people. So I decided to jump on the nearest bus that was there, Riviera, and then got a Lyft from there to Pop - this time we did a Minnie Van which was expensive but fun because you get a cast member to talk to.
Day 5 (Wed): Heading home
We finally got to sleep in and take it easy in the morning. There was a storm in the morning, and shortly after I got a text from Southwest that my flight (scheduled for 2:00 pm) was subject to be delayed or cancelled. We were going to go swimming but decided to skip it, and just got breakfast. They made a special nut-free meal for my son which was great. Packed up and did the arcade for a few minutes, then Tiffany Towncar picked us up at 11:30. Our droids were our carry-ons BTW. Shortly after we got to the airport they delayed our flight 3 hours. Then kept pushing it back periodically. The weather was cleared up at this point but they said it was due to weather, I guess that one storm in the morning caused Southwest to get completely derailed. We were in the airport for 6 hours then finally got to fly home. At least it wasn’t cancelled! Some people said they were stuck in the plane on the tarmac too and got delayed so I’m relieved that didn’t happen to us; I am very nervous to fly to Orlando again though, esp with Southwest.
Overall we had a great time and really enjoyed the mother-son time together! Our favorites are Cosmic Rewind, Tron, and Galaxy’s edge, and I just love the nighttime shows especially Fantasmic! Ideally we should have had a rest day though, the mid-day breaks were good but we still needed a full resort day in there. We walked 11-12 miles per day, 25K + steps!

2024.05.17 23:20 kingofstormandfire This the Top 6 singles of 1968 according to Billboard year-end list. Which one is your favourite?

In the end, it wasn’t even close. It came between The Monkees and The Doors, who both scored the vast majority of the votes. Turns out, The Doors lit a greater fire underneath the members of Toddintheshadow’s subreddit as “Light My Fire” won over “I’m a Believer”.
1) “Hey Jude” (The Beatles) https://youtu.be/mQER0A0ej0M?si=IOOOxQKLgBvM2mRg
This highly obscure Beatles song spent a measly nine weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100. Written primarily by Paul McCartney, "Hey Jude" was a global number-one hit, topping charts in the UK, US, Australia, and Canada. It tied the 1968 record for the longest Billboard Hot 100 number-one run at nine weeks—a record it held for nine years until Debby Boone (an artist Todd has covered) beat it with “You Light Up My Life”. Notably, at over seven minutes, it was the longest single to top the US charts at the time. The song, which has sold around eight million copies, ranks among the greatest songs ever on many critics' lists. Originally titled "Hey Jules," McCartney wrote it to comfort John Lennon's son Julian during his parents' breakup. The lyrics promote a positive outlook and encourage finding love. The song culminates in a four-minute "Na-na-na na" coda.
Yeah, so I’m pretty confident this is winning the poll. It’s only real competition is what’s at No. 4.
2) “Love is Blue” (Paul Mauriat) https://youtu.be/Y_tPE3o5NWk?si=2IMt4M_4usRP46iE
"L'amour est bleu" (or in English, "Love Is Blue") is a song whose music was composed by André Popp, and whose lyrics were written by Pierre Cour, First performed in French by Greek singer Vicky Leandros (appearing as Vicky) as the Luxembourgish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1967, it has since been recorded by many other musicians, most notably in this case by French orchestra leader Paul Mauriat, whose instrumental version (recorded in late 1967) became the first number-one hit by a French lead artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 in the US, spending five weeks at the top. I would go into the lyrics, but this version doesn’t have lyrics. It remained the only French song to top the chart until 2017, when Daft Punk was a featured artist on The Weeknd's number-one hit "Starboy".
This is a very cool easy listening instrumental. It has a baroque pop influence to it no doubt influenced by what was happening in contemporary music. I like this song.
3) “Honey” (Bobby Goldsboro) https://youtu.be/rZiEY3O-FWk?si=ONNbUmykbmPwiM2t
"Honey" is a song written by Bobby Russell. He first produced it with former Kingston Trio member Bob Shane, who was the first to release the song. It was then given to American singer Bobby Goldsboro, who recorded it for his 1968 album of the same name, originally titled Pledge of Love. In the song, the narrator mourns his absent wife, and the song begins with him looking at a tree in their garden, remembering how "it was just a twig" on the day she planted it. Only in the third verse is it finally revealed that "one day...the angels came," and that his wife had died. Goldsboro's version was a hit, reaching No. 1 in several countries, including the US, spending five weeks at the top (it was the 200th to reach No. 1).
Oh man, this song sucks. It’s so schlocky and stupid. Unfortunately, it was indicative of the type of schlock that would top the charts in the uncool 70s. It is widely considered one of the worst songs to ever top the charts, and I agree.
4) "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" (Otis Redding) https://youtu.be/7C-VscEQugk?si=OiSQuUQVuZg6kloj
A posthumous No. 1 for soul legend Otis Redding, it was co-written by Redding and guitarist Steve Cropper. Redding recorded it twice in 1967, including just three days before his death in a plane crash on December 10, 1967. The lyrics convey a sense of resignation and the calm acceptance of life's struggles, with the singer watching the ships roll in and then roll away again. Redding considered the song unfinished, and planned to record what he considered a final version, but never got the chance. It was released on Stax Records' Volt label in 1968, becoming the first posthumous #1 single in the US.
If this was the unfinished version, then holy cow, what would the final version sound like? Absolutely amazing song. It gets my vote.
5) “People Got to Be Free” (The Rascals) https://youtu.be/PGUhdwTyziM?si=aVORpZSy0bG2auOb
"People Got to Be Free," The Rascals' third and final US No. 1 hit, was penned by band members Felix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati, with Cavaliere on lead vocals. This upbeat yet passionate song calls for tolerance and freedom. Released during the turbulent summer of 1968, it topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks, marking the group's longest run at number one. Although some linked the song to the 1968 assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy It was actually recorded before Kennedy's death and was inspired by a hostile incident where the group, sporting beards and long hair, faced threats from locals after their tour vehicle broke down in Fort Pierce, Florida.
I love The Rascals (or Young Rascals as they were formerly known). Great band. The best band to fuse soul and rock. And this is a great protest song.
6) “Sunshine of Your Love” (Cream) https://youtu.be/y_u1eu6Lpds?si=-eyy704gRCjLo4tJ
This 1967 song by Cream was written by Pete Brown and Cream members Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton, the latter of which is everyone’s favourite boomer (Bruce and Clapton wrote the music; Brown the lyrics). It had two chart runs in the US. Originally, it peaked at No. 36 on the Hot 100 in late-1967, but a re-release in mid-1968 saw it reach No. 5 on the Hot 100. With elements of hard rock and psychedelia, it is one of Cream's best known and most popular songs, and features one of the most iconic guitar riffs of the 1960s. It is one of the most acclaimed and enduring songs of the psychedelic era.
Although Clapton is an asshole, you can’t deny his guitar playing, at least back then. Damn, this is a great song. What a riff. The guitar work is so catchy and cool.
Rounding out the Top 10 is “This Guy’s in Love With You” (Herb Alpert) (No. 7), “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” (Hugo Montenegro) (No. 8), “Mrs. Robinson” (Simon & Garfunkel) (No. 9) and “Tighten Up” (Archie Bell and the Drells) (No. 10)

2024.05.17 19:20 AsparagusNecessary55 My cilantro and parsley is growing like grass instead of into a plant, is it due to heat?

I'm new to gardening and wanted to start slow, I'm trying my hand at some herbs indoors and I layered a small pot with many seeds. I assumed I needed alot of seeds since the pack came with so many small ones.
But I see pictures online where people's cilantro looks like a full plant.
Did I do something wrong? My pots have something that grew like grass.
I saw a time lapse online and my plants look like there's but I think I'm missing something

I just saw a post somewhere about how Eastern Europeans use stinging nettle to reduce wrinkles and enhance their skin.
Other there are any other wild plants you’ve heard of for skincare? (Wild herbs, I know plenty of commercial herbs like fenugreek, ginseng etc)

Zhyros: Ok guys, so today. Penelope and the rest of the family went on a short expedition to Gaia's garden to........
Gets interrupted by Penelope
Penelope: TO BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF GAIA. THAT BITCH FED ME UP. Grasps So it was like this. One day i was taking my usual nap at 4 pm and when i sleep. I can see or visit Gaia as a sort of astral projection or something...idk...anyways i saw Gaia and we talked a bit about things........and she told me that I was the worst druid that has ever been conceived and started comparing me with that ginger brat. When i awakened I told Zhyros that we needed to pay a visit to Gaia's Garden.......
She gets interrupted by Zhyros
Zhyros: To beat the shit outta her. But we couldnt leave Meredith and Vellian alone. So I told them to come with us.......
He gets interrupted by Meredith
Meredith: And I told you that was a bad idea, even Penelope refused.
Zhyros: Well, i managed to convince her. We all spent quality family time in our journey......
Penelope: I didnt like to drag Meredith into our problems. But i have to admit it was very fun....
Vellian: And i could test some things I created with Meredith
Zhyros: That mech suit of yours was very useful against Gaia.
Vellian: Well, Meredith and I should be going back, we will be watching the Wizard Wars...
Meredith and Vellian leave
Zhyros: See darling? It was a good idea to bring em with us in the end.....
Penelope: Next time we two go alone.
Zhyros: Yeah. Wanna take a coffe?
Penelope: Yeah. Why not.
They leave without knowing they were talking to you

2024.05.17 15:37 WarJ7 BT16 Kuzuhamon Combo

BT16 Kuzuhamon Combo
https://preview.redd.it/di77mhyqpz0d1.jpg?width=7440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c230ef4165c4251665587d7bb1b606b78c47a0e
I wanted to try out this combo since I first saw it in BT13, but between various stuff I wasn't able to test it out properly. The other day I saw this deck again using Lunamon and it rekindled my desire to deckbuild wacky stuff more regularly (other builds I worked on were Omni Turbo using AvengeKidmon, first with a blue/red build than trying out the yellow/purple build, Big Mama Blockers using black Hybrids, MetalGaru Source OTK back in BT8).
Do any of you tried out the deck? I'm eager to hear some other perspectives about the deck!
I'll make a "quick" introduction to the deck for who doens't have any idea what this pile is!

The combo

The main combo of the deck is fairly simple. You need a stack with mermaimon and BT13 magnamon (done with just evoing mermaimon on a magna or kimeramon dna that puts a mermaimon from trash under), kuzuhamon and kaiser nail in hand. Once you have the setup the steps are as following:
  • Evo into Kuzuhamon in hand
  • Use Kuzuhamon effect to play Kaiser Nail for free targeting Mermaimon
  • Once Mermaimon is played you have two trigger to resolve: the On Play from Mermaimon and the "When you play an option" from Kuzuhamon
  • Resolve Kuzuhamon first to play out Magnamon
  • Mermaimon effect to absorb Magnamon for 2 memory
  • Magnamon effect to draw and play out a Veemonm for free
As long that you start the combo with 1 memory you should maintain turn at least.

What do I do once the combo is complete?

Here starts one of the issues I found theorycrafting the deck and testing it: you really don't have a solid gameplan. The deck reminds me a lot of BT5 LilithLoop in which you looped around Lilithmon and Zwart to end up with a board comprised of a couple or more of megas strating from almost nothing. This worked well because BT5 wasn't exactly about efficiente removal, stuff like Gaia Force was a common meta staple to deal with stacks in hope that the memory given wasn't enough for your opponent to rebuild. Nowdays a couple of stacks without protection are easily dealt with.
So yeah, the base combo give you a board presence and card draw, not much else.

What else can the deck do?

If for whatever reasons you don't manage to get the pieces for the combo, the deck can still go into DNA to slighlty control the board with Kimeramon DP- , Shakkomon's bounce effect and ST17 Magnamon. If you don't have the Kaiser Nail, the Training does the job somehow giving you at least access to another Magnamon for board presence or a Veemon for search/draw power. There are also some ways to play Vikemon out, mainly by putting it under Kimeramon or Mermaimon and than playing it out with Kaiser Nail.
I'd like to try out a more control oriented build, maybe with some particular champions or some copies of Megadeath to control better the board.

The Engine

What I like about this deck is that it flows like a Yugi deck, but in a good way. The deck is purely based on combo potential, and like a Yugi deck you can use a completly "random" engine to power it. In this case I tried out BT16 Davis & Ken to play out Veemons for search and draw power, coupled with EX5 Lunamon that lets you bounce back in hand the just played Veemon to get memory and to circumvent the bounce back from the tamer. I found that this works fairly decently although you need some time to setup the engine properly since you want to have something already on the board to make plays, and I found sometimes myself either evoing from Lunamon or bouncing it back to keep the Veemon on field.
This is also a natural engine for the deck since the combo is based on a Magnamon and interacts with Veemons, so I guess it's not that random, but it's still used in a non intended way.

Some strentghs

The deck thrives in a simplified board states. Since the combo gives you access to a wide board while giving up very little memory you could just pressure the opponent with bodies and control tools like ST17 Magnamon.
Unless you had a bad starting hand, once you have Davis&Ken and Veemon in hand you should be able to search most of your deck in a couple of turns. Both Magnamon help stabilize the situation by blocking, giving you draw power and controlling the board.

Some weaknesses

The deck needs to setup, keeping you exposed to aggro strategies if you don't get a Magnamon out. Usually you want to mulligan for Davis&Ken with veemon and Lunamon to set everything up as soon as possible, but sometimes you just don't find those and therefore you end playing with a "old" deck that tries to evo up or plays searchers.
The stacks have absolutely no protection and low DP, removal in security can easily ruin your tempo since you'd want to get some chip damage going as soon as possible becasue the deck, despite being a combo deck, isn't capable of OTKing your opponent (consistently).
The deck does nothing "crazy". Since it's not a modern archetype deck it doesn't has access to particular effects.

Some issues

Other than the deck not having a strong game plan, there some more issues that hinder the deck. First of all the Veemon, although great searchers, sometimes bottomdeck the rest of the combo delaying the big combo turn. In particular Mermaimon and Kaiser Nail aren't searchable by none of the Veemon, reason for which I'm trying out a couple of copies of the EX3 Veemon for some card draw. You can also discard Shakkomon and Vikemon with it (I never would have guessed those were Free ahahahaha).
Mermaimon is central to the combo, so there aren't any alternatives or digimon you can play in addition to make the deck more consistent. I tried Kimeramon and Shakkomon and both are solid enough that I'd even want to play more of those, but they still don't facilitate the combo and at the end are more extenders or just an alternative game plan.
Something similiar can be said for Kaiser Nail. There is BT11 Malestrom that costs 5, but it only is needed for the combo, or at least it needs some setup. I used Kaiser Nail a couple of times on its own, like in a game where I evoed into Mermaimon to absorb Vikemon and play it out with Kaiser Nail to stun my opponent board (epic game, I managed to win with 0 cards in deck just like OG LilithLoop :D)
It's hard to get the memory necessary to get the combo going. Since during the combo nothing interacts with the board you need a ton of memory to than make some interactions like going into Vike or doing stuff to get 2 Magnamon on the field for a DNA. Davis feels weird to play because I want to prioritize Davis & Ken to start searching for pieces. The deck is kinda tight, so it will need some optimization to fit in stuff like Memory Boost
