🔗Dorman Emergency Door Unlock Tool with Vinyl Grip

https://preview.redd.it/ssvyme07ob1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99f8476a67c556974c558632ea0d2efc7a69de0a
Well, my experience with this Dorman Emergency Door Unlock Tool has been quite an adventure, let me tell you. I mean, I've always been a bit of a worrier, especially when it comes to my car door. I've had my fair share of lockouts, and it's never a good time. But this little tool, it's changed everything!
First off, I love how versatile it is. I can reshape it to fit the thickness of my door and the location of the lock. It's like it's tailor-made just for me, and my car! Plus, it comes with a nice vinyl hand grip. It makes it so much easier to use. It's like holding onto a friendly, familiar face in a moment of pure panic.
Another great thing about this tool is that it's portable. It folds up so neatly, like a little origami masterpiece. It fits perfectly in my pocket, purse, or any other compartment I can find. It's like having a magic trick up my sleeve, always ready to save the day.
But, let's be real, no product is perfect. I have to admit, this tool can sometimes be a bit of a troublemaker. It's not always as smooth as I'd like it to be. There have been a few times when it's stuck in the narrow space between the door and the weather stripping. It's kind of like trying to force a square peg into a round hole, you know? It can be a bit frustrating.
However, on the bright side, I've found that by taking a little extra time and being patient, I can usually get it to work. And when it does, it's such a relief! It's like a personal victory, and it makes me feel so smart and resourceful.
So, would I recommend this product? Absolutely! It's not perfect, but it's worked wonders for me. It's like having a little insurance policy tucked away in my pocket, always there to help me out when I need it most. I'm just glad I stumbled upon it.

🔗Lock Technology 4-Piece Easy Access Folding Door Opening Kit

https://preview.redd.it/scl6xh67ob1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f050ad141adf382263d7dcfea99d013d88623cc9
I recently discovered the Lock Technology 145 Easy Access Folding Door Opening Kit, and it has become an indispensable tool for unlocking my car doors. This compact device is a true lifesaver when I've locked my keys inside or when I need to access the trunk in a hurry.
The highlights that caught my attention are the screws that don't require a coupler, which have made it incredibly easy to use. Plus, the collapsible design allows for easy storage in my glove compartment. Another great feature is the presence of a middle extension piece that covers the entire car and can be used for long reach applications. The shorter tip is perfect for accessing lock buttons, while the glowing tips on models 135-2B and 135-2C are an excellent innovation for nighttime use.
One downside I experienced was the need for more precise angle adjustments when trying to unlock my car doors. While the rigid design facilitated easier access through the window, it could be trickier for those with less experience or unsteady hands. Other than that minor inconvenience, this door opening kit has been a game changer for me.
So, if you're someone who often finds themselves in need of a last-minute or after-hours unlock solution, I highly recommend giving the Lock Technology 145 Easy Access Folding Door Opening Kit a try. You won't be disappointed!

Imagine locking your keys in your car. It's a frustrating and stressful situation, but with the Universal Lockout Tool, you can save yourself some time and money. This ingenious tool works with most American cars, as well as some international brands such as Audi, Toyota, and Volkswagen.
The best part? It's made of sturdy metal, giving you the confidence to use it without worrying about damaging your vehicle. It measures about 5/8" x 22", making it compact enough to carry around in your glove compartment or tool kit.
While some users have had issues with its thinness and flexibility, many professionals find it a decent entry-level tool for those occasional lockouts. Plus, at its affordable price, it's definitely worth considering as an insurance policy against those unexpected key-locking mishaps.
But remember, practice makes perfect. Always read the directions included on the back of the package and familiarize yourself with the tool before attempting to use it on your car. With some patience and a bit of finesse, you'll be able to unlock your vehicle in no time!

🔗Geevorks Power Door Lock Actuator 12V

https://preview.redd.it/muh2e2z7ob1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d19305a1e6ea49f50436e7ed756977e30c865fab
As a car enthusiast, I was excited to try out the Geevorks 12V door lock actuator. This kit made upgrading my old manual door locks to automatic ones a breeze! The installation was relatively easy, and the product included everything from door lock actuators to remote controls. The remote controls allowed me to lock and unlock my car from a distance, giving me peace of mind when I step away from my vehicle.
One of the main highlights for me was the trunk release button, adding an extra layer of convenience when I need to access my trunk. Additionally, the door lock actuator can be used in remote control and alarm systems, making it a versatile product for various car security needs.
On the downside, the remote control distance could be improved. In some cases, I experienced a weaker signal which made locking or unlocking the car from a distance less reliable. Despite this minor inconvenience, overall, the Geevorks door lock actuator has made my driving experience more secure and convenient.

🔗Car Door Unlock Tool with Vinyl Grip

https://preview.redd.it/c6x7rm58ob1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=803f575bfc977f1e89d1fc88355828684cde5c1a
Dorman's Emergency Door Unlock Tool is a handy little gadget that can save your day if you accidentally lock your keys inside your car. Imagine the relief of unlocking your car door within seconds using the slim design of this tool, which can be easily folded to fit in your pocket, purse or other compartments. The vinyl hand grip makes it comfortable and easy to use even in tight spaces.
However, there are some downsides to consider. Some users found it difficult to get the tool past the window seal and mentioned it folds up easily during use. It may not work effectively for all types of car doors due to their varying thickness and lock locations.
Overall, this tool can be quite useful for those who occasionally find themselves locked out of their vehicle. But be aware that it might require some practice or patience to get it right depending on your particular car model. So, if you're looking for a quick solution to this common mishap, Dorman's Emergency Door Unlock Tool could be worth a shot.

🔗Universal 10-Piece Vehicle Unlock Tool Kit

https://preview.redd.it/s6357qm8ob1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a98a6022487db229e198a018819a6715ec59de81
I recently had an unfortunate experience where I locked myself out of my car. Panicking, I remembered the Universal 10-Piece Vehicle Unlock Tool Kit I'd heard about. Its assorted tools and convenient pouch seemed perfect for this situation. Upon pulling it out of the bag, I was immediately disappointed by the poor instructions. The metal tools felt flimsier than anticipated, bending on the first attempt. However, the variety of tools allowed me to eventually unlock my car door, although not without a fight. I wouldn't recommend this to a friend, but it did save me from an expensive professional service.
The tool kit is compact and easy to carry, making it a handy emergency tool for drivers. The metal tools are versatile, catering to different vehicle models. The convenient pouch is spacious enough to hold all the tools. However, the build quality of the tools is disappointing, as they seem to bend easily under pressure. Overall, it's a useful tool kit for occasional use, but don't expect it to last a lifetime.

🔗Unlock Your Car Door with Ease: LTI135 2-Piece Easy Access ToolKit

https://preview.redd.it/tw4kx129ob1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99dbc9a67e834fef37c0f4356ab77c6c6aeadaad
I recently used the Lock Technology Easy Access Door Unlocking Tool Kit 135 in a tricky situation where I locked myself out of my car. To my relief, this 2-piece tool easily collapsed for convenient storage and extended to reach the car's windows. The whale tail tip design worked like a charm on the lock surfaces, making it a breeze to unlock my car door. Plus, the included plastic slip jim and door wedges provided extra support.
However, despite the overall positive experience, I did face a minor issue with this kit. The lack of a highlight feature in the product description made it somewhat challenging to understand the exact specifications of each component. Additionally, the green color of the tool might not appeal to everyone's taste.
In conclusion, the Lock Technology Easy Access Door Unlocking Tool Kit 135 proved to be a reliable and effective solution for my car lockout predicament. Its collapsible design, whale tail tip, and additional accessories make it a worthwhile investment for those looking to keep a handy tool in their vehicle for emergencies.

🔗Glow-in-the-Dark Car Door Unlocking Tool Kit with Lock Knob Lifter and Paint Protector

https://preview.redd.it/m15v5eb9ob1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b7b2cb2558331b8dc5735088bb6188452d7505ae
As a reviewer who has experienced the joy of retrieving keys from locked cars, I can attest to the life-saving capabilities of the Steck Big Easy Glow with Wedge Lockout Tool Kit. This kit has everything you need to rescue someone from their own forgetfulness or mischief at any hour of the day or night. The glow-in-the-dark yellow hue is not only cool but also incredibly functional, allowing you to see the tool even through tinted windows.
One aspect that really stood out for me was the easy wedge feature. It offers controlled opening of the car door for insertion of the Big Easy Glo, making it incredibly easy to access the inside of the vehicle without causing any damage. Additionally, its non-marring wedge prevents scratches or damages to your car, ensuring your beloved vehicle stays pristine even after a minor lockout incident.
However, despite its many positives, there are a few cons worth noting. The included air wedge seems to be somewhat delicate and may not last as long as other parts of the kit. Also, while the kit is effective on 98% of all cars and trucks, there might be some models or makes that are not compatible with this tool.
In conclusion, if you're someone who often encounters people locked out of their cars, then the Steck Big Easy Glow with Wedge Lockout Tool Kit is definitely worth considering. It's easy to use, effective, and offers an array of useful features that cater to different types of car locks. While it may have some minor drawbacks, overall, it's a reliable tool that can save both time and money when used appropriately.

🔗Visible Pink Door Unlock Kit for Cars

https://preview.redd.it/r29an9o9ob1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81653982435b7669f52d6214c42ae406814781ae
I have been using the Steck Lockout Tool Kit Big Easy for over a year now, and let me tell you, it's been an absolute game-changer. This tool has saved me countless times when I've locked my keys inside the car, much to the amusement of my friends.
One of the first things that stood out was the high visibility pink powder coating on its 55-inch long handle. In the middle of the night or during a snowstorm, finding this pink tool is a breeze compared to the black ones I used before. Plus, the improved non-marring wedge is now wider, longer, and smoother, making it even easier to use in various car models.
While the Big Easy is primarily designed for unlocking car doors, it also features a lock knob lifter, which comes in handy for cars with flat lock knobs at the top of the door. No more trying to improvise with a wire hanger or credit card - the Big Easy does it all.
However, there are a couple of minor drawbacks. Some users might find the storage size of the tool inconvenient, and it would be great if the package included a pump-up air bag for extra versatility.
Overall, the Steck Lockout Tool Kit Big Easy has been a reliable and convenient addition to my toolbox. With its 55-inch long handle and high visibility pink coating, I can quickly and easily unlock any car door without causing damage. If you're someone who frequently misplaces their keys or finds themselves locked out of their vehicle, I highly recommend giving this tool a try.

I recently installed the Biltek Power Car Door Lock and Unlock Kit in my Chevy Colorado, and I must say, it has been a game-changer. Before, I had to manually lock and unlock each door, but now, everything is just a button press away. The package included everything I needed to get started, from the simple diagram to the main module and actuators. Plus, it's compatible with my alarm system, so I can control everything right from my alarm remote.
The standout feature for me is the keyless entry. It's so convenient to hop in the car and just unlock the doors with a push of a button. The only downside I noticed was that the installation process took some time and effort, but once it was done, everything worked seamlessly.
Overall, I highly recommend the Biltek Power Car Door Lock and Unlock Kit to anyone looking to upgrade their vehicle to a central locking system with keyless entry. It's easy to use, reliable, and a great investment for any car owner.

🔗Universal Door Lock and Unlock Conversion Kit for 2, 3, 4 Car Doors

I recently upgraded my car with the Biltek CX-402 Universal Central Door Lock and Unlock Conversion Kit, and I must say it's made a world of difference in terms of convenience. The kit is easy to install, requiring no additional hardware and coming with a clear diagram that guides you through the process.
One of the standout features is its universal compatibility, fitting all known cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans. This has been particularly useful for me, as I often drive different vehicles. The Central locking system provides a state-of-the-art solution, converting manual door locks into a fully functional keyless entry system.
However, there's a downside to this product - the poor-quality wires. The wires were the only problem I encountered during installation, which was quite frustrating. Despite this, the Biltek CX-402 is an overall solid choice for anyone looking to upgrade their vehicle's locking system.

I recently got my hands on this LTI LT-126 Easy Access Tool and boy, has it been a game-changer for me! After suffering countless failed attempts to unlock doors in tight spaces or with tricky locks, this little tool has made things so much easier. The whale tail tip design is pure genius, allowing it to grip the lock more securely and catch it without much effort. Plus, the fact that you can use it with or without the vinyl tips depending on your preference just adds to its versatility.
What I particularly appreciated was how the tool came packaged in a simple yet sturdy custom kraft cardboard box. Not only did it make the whole experience feel more special, but also added an environmental touch which is always a welcome sight.
However, one thing that could have been even better was if the tool had come with some detailed instructions on how best to handle it, especially for first-time users. Nonetheless, once you figure out the right technique, this LTI LT-126 Easy Access Door Tool truly lives up to its name!

As a frequent traveler, I've found the Grip 8pc Lockout Tool Kit to be an absolute lifesaver. Imagine being stuck outside your car on a sweltering day, with no spare key or anyone to help you out. That's where this tool kit comes in. It's got everything you need to unlock your car door in no time.
One of the standout features of this kit is the slim jim bars - they're so thin yet sturdy, you'll wonder how they're able to pry open even the toughest doors. The slim jim bars are backed up by other useful tools like the wire form S hook slide lock tool and the wonder tool. Together, they make sure you're never locked out for long.
On the flip side, I did find the metal parts to be slightly flimsier than I'd hoped. It's not a deal-breaker but it does make me wary of using this kit too frequently. However, for occasional usage or as a backup tool, the Grip 8pc Lockout Tool Kit definitely earns its keep.
In conclusion, this tool kit has proven to be an essential part of my travel gear. It's well-made, easy to use, and offers a range of tools for different types of car doors. Principles of a Tip Line Platform: A research-based way to evaluate whistleblower systems
Article Cover Showing List of Principles and Names of Researchers
Thanks to the good work of academic researchers across the globe, we have a data-driven way to evaluate the quality of whistleblower software. The papers we’ve looked to for this article include:
The authors lists the characteristics of a whistleblower submission system. They include:
  1. Usability of the Software
  2. Authenticity of the Receiver
  3. Plausible Deniability of the Whistleblower
  4. Availability of the System
  5. Anonymity of the Whistleblower
  6. Confidentiality and Integrity of the Disclosures

Usability of the Software

Managed Service
Usability is the linchpin of any good software system. No matter what your value proposition is — the most private, secure, or whatever — if your targeted audience cannot use the software, no amount of engineering genius will make a difference. As researcher Joakim Uddholm puts it:
A key differentiator for Hush Line is that we’re a managed service, meaning you don’t have to host core infrastructure, operate dedicated networks, or hire specialists to start using the service. All a user needs to do to have an anonymous tip line is register an account.
UI for Hush Line Registration page
By providing a centralized service, we significantly reduce the risk of user error, making the service more consistent, predictable, and trustworthy.

Email Delivery

Hush Line can deliver messages directly to your email inbox. Users may enter their preferred SMTP information from Gmail or Riseup, for example, and any message submitted to their tip line will be delivered to their email account. Enabling users to set it and forget it makes using Hush Line effortless and integrates into the systems they’re already using.
SMTP Hush Line Settings

Clearnet and Tor Addresses

Hush Line is also available on both Clearnet and Tor Onion addresses. This approach is critical for users where Tor might be blocked or having anonymizing software on their device could be incriminating, like in the case of Ola Bini in Ecuador.
Screenshot of Ola Bini’s tweet about his conviction.
Since Hush Line can be accessed over a Clearnet address with the default browser already on your phone, your fingerprint will be the same as everyone else who just bought a new phone.

Making PGP Easy

Before, using PGP meant adopting cumbersome workflows that even stumped journalists at the heart of the Snowden disclosures. Journalist Glenn Greenwald didn’t have PGP set up, and didn’t have the time to learn how to do it, resulting in Snowden not being able to securely contact him. Even Snowden forgot to send his PGP key to journalists when initially contacting them.
Inbox view with Mailvelope browser extension.
Hush Line attempts to solve this problem through our integration of Mailvelope, a powerful open-source browser extension for Chrome and Firefox that enables users to create keys, decrypt and encrypt message directly in their browser, and export their public PGP key. For tip line owners, once adding their PGP key to Hush Line, all messages are end-to-end encrypted by default and when a tip comes in, they can read it within the Hush Line app. For whistleblowers, this means they don’t need to do anything to send a secure, anonymous message.

Authenticity of the Receiver

Verification System

Hush Line has a verification system for journalists, organizations, activists, or other public figures. Verified accounts receive a special badge on their message submission page so that people submitting messages know they’re contacting the right person. To be verified, users must submit proper information to prove their identity or approval to represent a company.
Submit Message page with a “Verified Account” badge.

Opt-In User Directory

Users may opt-in to a public directory where others can find their address. The default tab is prioritized to make it easy to find verified users. The directory is searchable, and a whistleblower can have confidence of the validity of an address.
Hush Line User Directory page

Account Reporting

The verification system and user directories are two ways to help ensure the authenticity of the receiver, but to help ensure the platform’s health, we enable users who have logged in to report spam or abuse accounts. We will address reported accounts immediately to determine the best next steps, whether deleting the account, sending a warning message, or other appropriate methods.

Plausible Deniability of the Whistleblower

No Downloads

Hush Line is accessible over a Clearnet address, so a user doesn’t have to download any new software to send an anonymous message. If someone wants to use a Tor-only tip line service on their mobile device, they must sign in to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. To download Tor Browser, you need to provide a valid email address or phone number and possibly payment information, all considered personally identifiable information. Now that you’ve downloaded new software on your phone, your “fingerprint” has become unique to who you are. If you only have Robinhood, Tor Browser, Mastodon, Chrome, and Slack on your phone, the likelihood of someone else having only those same apps becomes less likely. If you have even 50 apps, your fingerprint will be more associated with you, possibly entirely unique. The more unique your fingerprint is, the less realistic a plausible deniability claim is.

One-Way Messaging

Most people fail to report information because they fear retaliation and the significant risks of whistleblowing. Hush Line is a one-way messenger explicitly designed to protect the individual submitting the message. If the person submitting a message feels comfortable enough to leave a contact method, they may or can submit a message without any further involvement.

Account-Free for Whistleblowers

Someone submitting a message does not need to create an account to use the app. This crucial feature allows a whistleblower to reduce the trail of information they leave behind. No credentials can be found if you have no username or password to save. And since Hush Line requires no special software, a message can be submitted from any phone or computer, from a pubic library or internet cafe, for example.
Success message after sending a message without an account.

Availability of the System

Centralized Services

By providing a centralized service, Hush Line is more reliably available by only requiring a single system to be maintained and secured. Centralizing our services protects users by removing the responsibility of managing specialized infrastructure and following complex workflows, which, if done incorrectly, could have real-world implications.
Decentralized systems help with censorship resistance (and Hush Line can also be self-hosted), but when there are tens, hundreds, or thousands of separate instances all disconnected from each other, there is no way to ensure the quality of those systems. What other software is on the server? Is it updated? Are any ports open? Who currently has or has had access? What hardware are they using? It’s impossible and foolhardy to assume that everyone will follow best practices consistently.
An analogous example of the inherent risks of decentralization is from the Mastodon network — a decentralized version of Twitter where anyone can run an instance. The database for Kolektiva.social, a service tailored to anarchist users, was compromised. In 2023, the home of its admin was raided for an unrelated event, and the FBI seized an unencrypted database backup.
Snippet from the Kolektiva admin account’s post after the raid.

Anonymity of the Whistleblower

Leaking IP Addresses

To make Hush Line accessible to as many people as possible, the app is available on a publicly accessible URL, which is what you might expect from any web service. However, when using a Clearnet URL, leaking a user’s IP address is a real possibility.
To help defend against this, we scrub IP addresses from our access logs to minimize the risk of this happening when you use our app. To remove the possibility of IP leaks in high-threat scenarios, we deploy Hush Line as a Tor Onion service.

Tor Support

Tor is a network that anonymizes your internet browsing activity. It acts as a proxy by randomly routing your request through its network of relays, hiding who is making the request. Tor also has a feature called Onion Services. An Onion service makes a website or application accessible through a special .onion address that is only available through the Tor Browser.
Message submission onion site.
When using a regular browser like Chrome or Firefox, when you enter an address like hushline.app the browser needs to know the server address for that URL. A long chain of services helps make it possible, from your ISP to DNS services, the server running the app, and more to make it possible to type something memorable like hushline.app instead of remembering and entering 64.23.155.36. Just as the browser needs to know the IP address of the target web server, your IP address is also necessary to know where to send the information.
Your IP address is essentially your customer ID for your internet service provider. All someone with the necessary authority needs to do is request the information of the owner of that IP, and your real identity is exposed.
Onion services defeat this kind of threat because they don’t operate using the same DNS and IP protocols. Tor Browser is connected to the Tor anonymizing network, and so are the Onion services that exist within it. When someone uses a .onion address, the request from the browser to the server and back never leaves the Tor network, completely sidestepping IP leakage.
To access Hush Line’s information site using our Onion address, enter `http://w25rxxn62dgix7qdbw4ot37m2y4ty7kxfrinspw4ce7jzse7pb6rhaqd.onion/\`, or to access the app’s Onion site, enter `http://ghj4vviaoccj4tj2r3ss52arbnchkfvs7uft4sgtrkuvdha5zjgo6yqd.onion\` in Tor Browser.

Timing Correlation

To know that two people are talking to each other, you don’t need to know the contents of their messages if you have enough metadata about the conversation. One such way to reveal important context about who might be talking to each other is to learn when the messages were sent. If there’s a flurry of activity from two accounts — one after the other, repeatedly, pausing at similar times, being active at similar times— someone analyzing the logs might assume those accounts are talking to each other.
To address this, we do not timestamp messages or relate accounts in any way. An attacker with access to the server cannot relate two messages on the platform, which is largely irrelevant as Hush Line is designed as a one-way messenger.

Confidentiality and Integrity of the Disclosures

Message Encryption

Hush Line uses PGP for message encryption, making the key owner the only one technically able to read the decrypted messages. Messages are end-to-end encrypted using OpenPGP.js, meaning our server will never see the decrypted contents.
Hush Line Inbox with an encrypted message.
We’re proactive about communicating with senders and receivers about the importance of the tip line owner adding their public PGP key, and we discourage sharing sensitive information if the receiver doesn’t encrypt their messages.
Unencrypted warning on a message submission page.

HTTPS

We use Let’s Encrypt for HTTPS certificates. When a site uses HTTPS, requests use the TLS protocol to encrypt data in transit from the browser to the server and back. This protects your activity from being monitored or tampered with while using the app.
For an attacker who can monitor network connections, instead of seeing which page you’re on or who you’re submitting a message to, the primary URL is only visible. So if a message submitter is on https://hushline.app/submit_message/artvandelay the recipient remains unobservable, and the only thing visible to a network snoop is https://hushline.app/.

Conclusion

There are many tip-line solutions on the market, and it can be intimidating to choose the right one for you. We hope this article gives you a data-driven way to evaluate the software that fits your needs.

2024.05.19 07:51 Stanley232323 Daily Community Tiering Post Day 32: What does the Delphox say? It's Delphox!

Hello again everybody!
Before we get started on today's post the current voting for Infernape currently has votes for B tier with a solid lead!
So with that being said it looks like Infernape is likely to join the B tier! (Also the previous vote for Aggron did end up with B tier votes in the lead as well) Like with all previous votes I'll continue to check the numbers and if anything changes I'll update it on tomorrow's post.
(Please note that this voting/tiering is centered around Classic as after a certain point in Endless only about 5 Pokemon and 2 abilities are truly viable.)
So current tiers are:
S tier - Garganacl, Cloyster, Skeledirge, Gholdengo, Tinkaton
A tier - Gyarados/Mega, VenusauMega/Dyna, Aegislash, Corviknight/Dyna, Excadrill, GardevoiMega, Toxapex, ScizoMega, GengaMega/Dyna
B tier - Kanto-Persian/Dynamax Kanto-Meowth, Weavile, Starmie, Rhyperior, Quagsire, Mamoswine, Whimsicott, Aggron/Mega, Infernape
C tier - Linoone
F tier - Dustox
With that being said let's get to today's vote!
Today is day 32 of tier voting and today we will discuss the magic fox, Delphox! After 3 straight generations of Fire/Fighting starters Delphox was a welcome change with the (at the time) unique and new Fire/Psychic typing. As of now there is also Armarouge with that typing but for 3 generations Delphox was the only Pokemon of that type combination (even it's pre-evolutions were just pure Fire types). Delphox has a good Special Attack stat, which is the second highest of all the Fire type starters (even beating Skeledirge, with only Hisuian-Typhlosion having a higher Special Attack), and the 4th highest among all the starters combined (behind Primarina, Inteleon and the aforementioned Hisuian-Typhlosion). It also has good Speed and Special Defense stats at the tradeoff of being kind of frail on the physical Defense side. It's Hidden Ability hasn't been known as the best historically, but in this game it actually is pretty useful! On top of that this game gives it some more useful tools in the form of really strong egg moves (including one of the strongest moves in the game) and a Hidden Ability which synergizes with one of its other egg moves extremely well and also gives it protection against priority attacks (most of which are physical attacks and Sucker Punch in particular can be very threatening for it). It's natural movepool also has some solid utility options and decent coverage moves.
(Also here is the post with rules for voting/tiering posts and a little more explanation about them in general: https://www.reddit.com/pokerogue/s/0LNZhPPzR9 Links to past votes can all be found here as well in comments added to the OP with each new vote)
And here is a quick reminder of what each tier generally means:
S tier: Top tier, can make or break your entire run, essentially the cream of the crop
A tier: really strong but not quite top tier, maybe slightly outclassed or has a slight weakness holding it back
B tier: solid choices that can make it to your endgame team, might be reliant on team composition to truly function well or might just be outclassed as well
C tier: usually early-mid game Mons, ones you don't really want to take to end game if you can avoid it, usually pretty decently glaring weakness but something redeeming enough to keep from F tier
F tier: no reason to use in end game unless you're doing it for a meme/joke
Abstain/No Opinion: this will be a voting option mostly just for Pokemon people haven't unlocked/used to their full potential yet. If Abstaining votes outvote each individual tier then the Pokemon will be tabled for the time being and another vote will open up for it later (can mostly see this happening with Legendaries).

2024.05.19 07:50 fttklr Firefox "portable" ? Need to re-install windows

I need to re-install windows and I have like 3 years worth of firefox tabs, bookmarks, history and other stuff that I would like to port over. Some websites can be reopen of course but most of the stuff I have open in different windows is "by theme", as I have different workflows and I switch windows basically depending what am I doing. So I have like 10 windows or so with more or less about 80-90 tabs all over these windows; which I would like to save. Same for logins and all the other things you usually save in your browser, so you can just launch it and everything is restored when you turn on the computer and launch Firefox.
Is there a way to make Firefox Portable, so I just save everything in a folder and put it in a usb thumbdrive or external drive? In this way I can format my main drive without problem and also have a backup? I contacted Mozilla support and they told me to copy the folder from appdata but when I put that back in another windows install it didn't restore my existing Firefox state; so I am not sure what is the catch there, nor why can't be all contained in one folder and be portable. Is there any tool to do this when reinstalling windows?

2024.05.19 07:50 goats-in-assholes The difference in quality of Danny Clones is out of hand on this sub.

The difference in quality of Danny Clones is out of hand on this sub.
It's out of hand guys, I'm so tired of these low quality, find a random picture of some white guy with a big nose and say he's danny posts. Both pictures I have are from this sub. The first picture I have is from someone, who obviously put in effort and found a true Danny clone. Honestly this person's uncle might actually be Danny in disguise doing a prank from their childhood. But the second picture is of some person's post, and you can clearly see that that is hit rapper and artist Fox Szn, not Danny. It looks absolutely nothing like him. Honestly I don't even know how this person could ever think anyone would believe that's Danny, especially considering the fact that he's on a swing. Every actual Greg knows that Danny would never get near a swing, you can see it in his eyes. I feel like the moderators of this subreddit need to help put and end to these low quality, honestly insulting posts.

2024.05.19 07:50 wakwks Mod recommendations for 1.20.1?

Hi, I'm trying to make a casual "modpack" for 1.20.1, and I want to get mod recommendations that:
  1. Makes cave generation and exploration better
  2. Fairly simple
  3. Makes world generation better
  4. Gives a FEW simple, but very innovative mobs, something like mowzie's mobs.
  5. Makes world exploration better, in all dimensions.
Well, all in all the contents I want for the mods are just mods that make exploration fun in minecraft, mods that give the world life, lots of structures where you can make a story out of them, a few, but very high quality mobs to increase fighting enjoyment. Thanks for any suggestions! :D, oh and also something I really really love in minecraft is finding rare items, for that purpose I always install the relics and artifacts mods in my worlds, and a bit of ore mods to give caves more content.

2024.05.19 07:49 RadioRavenRide Activity Shilling: What if Neoliberals contributed to Bridge-building?

It if my belief that the hardest liberal ideal to uphold is not property rights or free-markets but pluralism. This is because the instinct to demonize and distance oneself from one's enemies is overwhelmingly strong, driven by pride, fear, anger, and disgust. But we should stand against these impulses, for the very core of democracy relies on people and groups of different to engage and hash out a plan for the future. With that in mind, I would like to make a case that one of the most powerful and useful things a principles neoliberal can do is bridge build.

What is Bridge Building?

Bridge-building is not rigorously defined because it's pretty new, but it comes from very old human instincts: curiosity and a desire for authentic connection.
Curiosity is not just a desire for knowledge, but a desire to expand one's view of the world and a practice of being an ever-enthusiastic learner. Curiosity does not have to be about facts but also about new experiences and ways of thinking. To be curious about a person is not necessarily wanting to know their social security number, but how they came to where they are in life and how they see the world. Curiosity is not just touching grass, but appreciating the park's beauty. If I were not curious, I would likely have noped out of this subreddit based on the name alone. But because I was, I read the sidebar.
It is my belief that people have an innate desire to be heard, to be seen and respected. And although it is diminished as of late, people also have the capacity to truly connect to others on a deeper-than-superficial level. This is hard online, but much easier in the real world. This desire and capacity for connection can help people overcome great differences and sprout the seeds of a great friendship.
Based on these two principles, Bridge-Building is a movement to ease polarization by connecting people of different backgrounds and groups together to foster greater understanding. The goal is not to reduce disagreement, but to make it more productive.

Why should Neoliberals Aim to Bridge Build?

Yeah, why should we? If we know best, why should we listen to those chumps? After all, I already have a name for everyone to right and left of me: wrong.
For one, do we really know best about everything? In the Socratic Dialogue Meno, Socrates and the politician Meno discuss the nature of virtue. During a debate on whether virtue can be taught, Meno asks Socrates this:
And how will you enquire, Socrates, into that which you do not know? What will you put forth as the subject of enquiry? And if you find what you want, how will you ever know that this is the thing which you did not know?
Here in lies Meno's Paradox: how do you know if you need to learn? If you already have that knowledge, you do not need to look any longer. And if you don't, then you have no idea what you're searching for. Socrates uses the idea of inbuilt knowledge as his answer, but I have another one which may strike more directly to the interests of liberals: simply assume that your knowledge is incomplete, and seek a more complete picture. Given all the knowledge in the world out there and all the things have yet to be discovered, it is unlikely that you or any other person has the complete picture on even a single issue.
But even if we do not know everything, if there value in learning from those of different views of us? I say that there is, and I will use another famous parable, this time from Buddhism, to illustrate my point. In this story, a kind invites a group of blind men to experience something that they have never encountered before: an elephant. When each blind man has felt a part of the creature, the king asks them to describe what they are touching. The man touching the foot says that the thing is a pillar, the man touching the trunk says it is a plow, the man touching the tip of the tail says a brush, and so on. The blind men cannot agree on what they are all touching, and so start an ancient version of a flamewar which entertains the king. In this story, the elephant is "The Truth", if such a thing exists. Although we all come in contact with the truth and with reality, we each come at it at different angles, like how the blind men are touching different parts. This means that while our individual perspectives are incomplete, they can be put together as a much more complete picture. People who remember the "wisdom" of the crowds should also recognize the powerful insights that can come from non-experts, especially as a group. Neoliberals who aspire to be "evidence-based" should not just gather evidence from different sources, but learn about different ways of thinking from others, or else they would be like one blind man squeezing the elephant's gonads really hard and thinking he's touching a balloon.
Hoewver, there are a lot of people who will reply to this very post and say, "isn't it dangerous to engage with certain people? What about those who are too stupid and hateful to learn?". Firstly, you should never bridge build if you feel unsafe. However, feeling unsafe is not the same as feeling uncomfortable, and discomfort may help you shake out of old patterns. Secondly, the foremost goal of substantive discussion is not to teach but to learn: even if the other party is too stupid to learn, if you are able to listen and learn you will have gained from the conversation. This may not always work out, but I promise you that when it does the effect is magical.

How do you Bridge Build?

This is the hard part. I haven't fully figured it out myself, but I have some pointers:
  1. Be patient. People, especially people on the internet, are no the most eloquent speakers. Struggling to find the right words or having incorrect grammar and spelling should not be taken as signs of being dumb babies not worth talking to. Additionally, try not assume all of what people are based on snippets of information.
  2. Be polite. Avoiding infamatory remarks ("You can't even read a supply and demand graph") and ambiguous slogans ("From the river to the sea, drugs will be free!") and try to keep the focus on the issues instead of the other person (or what you assume of the other person).
3.Stand up for your beliefs. Common ground is only real if it is earned. Be upfront about what you believe and how you came to believe those things. Anything else would be a disservice to the other party.
  1. Follow your curiosity. Try to ask questions in good faith instead of as traps (although I admit I do this a lot). Who knows where the inquiry will go?
But if that's too hard or ambiguous, there's a lot of help out there. Here are some organizations and projects that specialize in bridge-building:
Braver Angels: They host workshops, debates, and other events for bridging divides. I also like their A Braver Way Podcast. They also happen to be associated with one American Purpose Magazine.
One Small Step by StoryCorps: If you sign up, they may match you with someone they think you will have a fruitful conversation with.
National Institue for Civil Discourse: Come on, one of the founding Co-Chairs was Bill Clinton, and a former board member was H.W. Bush.
There are many more, so feel free to search for yourself. So, why not try building some bridges? They're an important piece of infrastructure.

2024.05.19 07:47 Beautiful-Abies-5788 Decide best gpu for first build

I posted recently about a used pc from offer up but, per the responses I got, I decided to just build my own. I have been saving up and researching on how to build a pc, and would like to get a top of the line gpu for my needs within a $1500 budget that can last 3-4 years before needing gpu upgrades (unsure if this is possible/worth it). My needs would mainly be for gaming, mostly RPG’s like Skyrim (heavily modded) and Ghost of Tsushima. I also want to be able to do productivity things as I am a stem grad student (cfd, auto cad) and about to start a YouTube channel pretty soon. I will also use the pc for watching videos and movies so I’d like the highest video/game quality within my price range (I know monitors play a huge role but for gaming I’d like 4k or 1080p). I’ll list the specs I have in mind (should be a link to pc part picker) so I would appreciate any advice or suggestions on any substitutions as I’m not sure which gpu would be best for this build. Sorry if this was incredibly long but I would appreciate any feedback and discussion.

2024.05.19 07:46 bazmonkey A prometheus exporter for pi-hole version 6

I just wanted to share a prometheus exporter I've been working on that uses the new API in the version 6 beta of pi-hole:
https://github.com/bazmonk/pihole6_exporter
I've also got a dashboard that uses most of the metrics. I just updated the screenshots but the dashboard listing is slow to update. If you click on it in the next few hours and only see one screenshot, that's the old one.
Why another pihole exporter? People have written a bunch already...
Two reasons: first, I couldn't find one that uses the new API in the upcoming version 6. It's undergone a lot of changes. This one uses HTTPS and possibly an app token.
Second, an annoying thing I find in a lot of the existing exporters is that they only provide the per-24h stats that the admin dashboard mostly uses. Tracking that number over time is useless. You see a lot of the "ads blocked over time" graphs are jagged lines instead of increasing ones... that's because they're actually reporting the ads blocked over the last 24h (to the hour), which makes it jump down every hour and never go up overall. With only rolling 24h stats it's difficult/impossible to derive what was actually happening over time.
So, in addition to reporting those numbers (for use as quick-stats), I'm also collecting the counts of queries by [client, type, status, response, upstream destination] per minute, so that you can actually look up how many queries of some kind happened over arbitrary amounts of time, as opposed to merely what the 24h count was at that time. You can look at the cumulative stats and aggregate stats-over-time for the hour, the week, etc. It's simply more useful data.
What's Prometheus?
It's a system for gathering metrics (numerical data) off computers and putting it into a time-series database for analyzing and looking for trends/problems/etc. Usually it's used along with grafana (a web app for making pretty graphs and dashboards based off that data), and it's often used alongside Loki (a similar system for gathering log data). Folks also use it to generate alerts (e.g. I get slack alerts if I have updates available, or if a user is logged in, or if available memory is too low or CPU pressure too high too long).
While you can host your own prometheus/loki/grafana servers (it's open-source), Grafana also offers a cloud service that hosts it for you. The free plan (free-free: don't gotta give them payment method or anything) is plenty of space for a few raspberry pi and their logs. They also offer Grafana Alloy, an agent that handles sending up your data securely so you don't have to deal with that aspect. AND, they have a pre-built Raspberry Pi integration that is pre-configured and ready to go. If you go that route, in the README I include a sample blurb you can put into the Alloy configuration to use this exporter along with it.
Aaaanyway, any feedback is welcome!

🔗Breathable Gray Lightweight Car Cover for Snow

https://preview.redd.it/3sb4jepzmb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=932dcf0f506db0e80819d7fd7bceb9769919127e
I recently purchased the Budge Lite Car Cover, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer for me. First off, the material is super lightweight and breathable, which means my car doesn't get all stuffy under there. Plus, it's easy to handle and store when I'm not using it.
One thing that really stood out to me is how well it fits my car. The elastic hem ensures a snug fit, so even on a windy day, it stays put. And speaking of wind, the antenna patch is a nice touch that keeps my antenna safe and sound.
Now, let's talk about some drawbacks. While the cover does a decent job of keeping most things like dust and leaves off my car, it's not entirely waterproof. After a rain, I noticed some water seeping in, which was a bit disappointing.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this Budge Lite Car Cover. It's lightweight, easy to handle, and provides a nice snug fit for my car. If you're looking for something to protect your vehicle from the elements, this might just be the perfect cover for you.

🔗Universal Fit Car Windshield Snow Cover and Side Mirror Covers

I recently tried the Asz Car Windshield Cover for Ice and Snow, and I have to say, it made my winters so much more convenient. The thickened material is excellent at keeping out snow and ice, and I love that it comes with side mirror covers for added protection. The magnetic embedded design means it's super easy to put on and take off, which is a game-changer when I'm in a hurry.
However, one minor issue is that it's a little bulky, so it's not the most space-efficient option out there. Overall, I highly recommend the Asz Car Windshield Cover for anyone looking to simplify their winter mornings! .

🔗All-Weather Heavy Duty Car Cover for Sedans

Last fall, I got my hands on the Armor All Heavy Duty Premium Car Cover for my sedan, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. The first thing that caught my attention was its promise of all-weather protection. Living in a region with unpredictable weather, this was a godsend! The cover's heavy-duty material and strong stitching have indeed safeguarded my car against various unpredictable conditions, from sudden downpours to blistering sun.
One feature that stood out was the cover's breathable material. I was concerned about moisture buildup causing mold and mildew on my vehicle's finish. However, the Armor All cover has proven effective in preventing such issues, making it worth every penny. Additionally, the cover's 6-point high wind protection system ensures that it stays in place during stormy days, providing me with a peace of mind I never had with my previous covers.
However, there is a small con. The cover can be cumbersome to carry around due to its size and weight. A built-in storage bag or a slightly lighter design would have been a great addition. Despite this downside, I find the Armor All Heavy Duty Premium Car Cover to be an excellent investment for any car owner who values their vehicle's appearance and needs dependable protection against harsh weather elements.

🔗Budge Lite Car Cover for Sedans Up to 16'8

https://preview.redd.it/1lelklw0nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fef3706a6bdc7c67ccf50471a0e55a0fecc9a7ed
I can't stress enough how crucial it is to protect your car from the elements, and the Budge Lite Car Cover has been a lifesaver in this regard. As someone who keeps their vehicle in a garage with a metal roof, I know all too well how dust, soot, and debris can accumulate and cause damage to a car's finish. I've been using this cover for over five years on multiple cars, and it's been a game-changer. I've been amazed at how effectively it keeps my car clean and dust-free, even in a very dirty environment.
The key to keeping my cars in pristine condition is constant maintenance and proper storage. I make sure to cover my vehicle each time I park it, and I've found that the Budge Lite Car Cover is the perfect solution for my needs. The single layer of polypropylene is lightweight and easy to use, making it an ideal choice for indoor storage and occasional outdoor usage against dust, dirt, and debris.
One of the standout features of this car cover is its breathability. Constructed with a single layer of polypropylene, the Budge Lite Cover allows air to circulate, which helps to reduce condensation. This is particularly important for preventing mold and mildew from forming on your car's surfaces. Additionally, the elasticized hem and built-in grommets secure the cover all-year round, ensuring that it stays in place even during strong winds.
I've also used the car cover outside on weekends or for temporary coverings, and I've been impressed with its ability to keep my car dry and spotless, even in heavy rainstorms. The water just beads up and rolls off, which is a testament to the quality of the material.
However, I will say that the fit can vary since it's a universal cover, so sometimes it might be too tight or too loose, depending on your car's size and shape. And despite being lightweight and easy to clean with just a hose, some users may find that the lack of a soft inner lining can catch dust and other debris, which could scratch your car's finish.
Overall, the Budge Lite Car Cover is a fantastic product that's perfect for indoor storage and occasional outdoor use. Its lightweight design and breathability make it a great choice for keeping your car clean and protected from the elements, and the additional features, like the elasticized hem and built-in grommets, make it a secure and user-friendly option. At its budget-friendly price point, this car cover is a no-brainer for anyone looking to protect their vehicle from dust, debris, and damage.

🔗High Quality 3-Layer Car Cover with UV Protection

https://preview.redd.it/ovqoqjf1nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ccd5246809f4cb664c243f5bfacca4520b4cf00
I recently purchased the Leader Accessories Car Cover for my vehicle, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. The three-layer fabric is incredibly breathable, providing excellent air circulation which has helped to keep my car dry and free from moisture damage.
One feature that truly stands out is the UV protection it offers, ensuring my vehicle's paint remains safe from those harmful sunrays. Additionally, the elastic hem provides a snug fit, keeping the cover in place even during windy conditions due to its attached strap and buckle.
However, despite its many great qualities, I found that the cover doesn't seem to offer much resistance to dust. Nonetheless, the package it comes in is convenient and includes an easy-to-use storage bag.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Leader Accessories Car Cover, especially for those seeking a reliable, well-fitting cover with outstanding UV protection!

🔗Durable All-Weather Car Cover with Door Zipper & Reflective Stripes

https://preview.redd.it/9q8exfq1nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6c9c2652918a821704adb6cb2015d24e32b6759
I recently stumbled upon the Nilight Waterproof Car Cover and decided to give it a shot. What caught my eye was its premium 210T Oxford cloth, which I can confirm is both lightweight and incredibly durable. The fabric is waterproof, heat insulating, and breathable, making it perfect for all weather conditions.
One feature that stood out is the unique door zipper on the driver's side - it allows me quick and convenient access to my car without having to remove the entire cover. Additionally, the windproof straps and elastic hem help keep the cover snug even in strong winds, and the combination lock offers added security.
One downside I noticed is that while the reflective stripes are great for visibility at night, they can be a bit overly bright and reflective during the day when you're driving.
Overall, this all-weather car cover has done a great job protecting my car from the elements, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid, reliable solution to keep their vehicle clean and safe from the elements.

🔗Favoto Waterproof All-Weather Sedan Car Cover

https://preview.redd.it/uaklsf42nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8952a02b07290c0a20c8e1224a77a2ca4059fb18
I want to talk about my car cover experience, especially with the Favoto All-Weather Sedan Car Cover. As a car owner, I've learned the importance of protecting my vehicle from the harsh elements, both natural and man-made. The Favoto cover has been a game-changer for me.
Firstly, the driver's side zipper design is such a convenience. It makes getting in and out of the car a breeze, even when it's covered. The night reflection stripes are an added bonus - they make sure my car's contour is visible even in the dark, reducing the risk of accidents.
The Favoto cover is made of heavy-duty, 5-layer material that's both durable and waterproof. The cotton lining ensures no scratches on my car's paint. Unlike some other covers made of PE and PEVA, this one won't tear easily.
The best part? This cover provides comprehensive protection against all types of weather elements, from dust and snow to acid rain, bird droppings, and even pollution. And let's not forget about securing it - the elasticated edge along with the 4 securing straps under the car keep it in place, even on windy days.
In the real world, your car can face potential damages from weather, animals, and even people. Car covers like this one are a great investment to keep your car safe and sound. The Favoto All-Weather Sedan Car Cover offers excellent protection against all these threats.
And finally, I must mention how easy it is to store and carry this cover. It folds neatly into its storage bag and doesn't take up much space. This makes it perfect for those times when you need to take your cover with you.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a high-quality, all-weather car cover that's easy to use and provides complete protection, the Favoto All-Weather Sedan Car Cover is definitely worth considering.

🔗Motor Trend Snow-Proof Car Cover with Storage Bag and Lock

https://preview.redd.it/1p5kduo2nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=190fce66b0c3d35b99185416c27c2c2085a3b8e1
I recently got my hands on the Motor Trend All Season Weatherwear 1-Poly Layer Snow Proof, Water Resistant Car Cover Size XL1 - Fits Up to 210". Having a car that's subjected to harsh weather conditions, I was in need of something that could offer protection and durability. Since trying it out, I must say I am pleasantly surprised.
This cover has an extra durable polyester construction which indeed stands up well against various elements including snow, dust, wind, UV rays, and even minor scratchings. Not to mention, it also keeps the interior cool on sunny days. It even comes with a free storage bag and lock, which is a nice addition.
However, on the flip side, the material seems to be quite thin despite its claims. This might be a concern in areas with extreme wind conditions as it could potentially tear. Additionally, although the elastic hem at the bottom provides a snug fit, I found it a bit of a struggle to put on and remove.
In conclusion, the Motor Trend All Season Weatherwear Car Cover is a great option for those in search of an affordable, all-season car cover. While it may not be the most robust option out there, it gets the job done in terms of protecting your vehicle from most common weather conditions.

FAQ

1. What are the benefits of using a car cover in the snow?

Car covers provide protection against snow, ice, and harsh winter elements, preventing damage to your vehicle's paint, windows, and other components. They also keep your car warm and dry, save time on defrosting or scraping ice, and help maintain your vehicle's value and appearance.

2. How do car covers help in removing snow?

https://preview.redd.it/paa1rxs3nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ca1cb7d978070cd52c41efdff6183ee35f81259
Car covers prevent snow from accumulating on your vehicle, which means there's less snow to remove when you use the cover. It's generally easier and quicker to brush off a car cover than to scrape ice off your vehicle's surface.

3. How do I choose the right car cover for my vehicle?

In addition to fit, consider factors like material, thickness, waterproofing, UV protection, and ease of use. Some covers are more durable, better at shedding water, or easier to put on and take off. You may also want to consider options with added features like integrated straps and grommets for enhanced security.

4. What materials are best for winter car covers?

Look for materials that offer good waterproofing and insulation, as well as resistance to UV damage. Common materials for car covers include polyester, polypropylene, and polyethylene. Some higher-end covers may also incorporate layers of microfiber or fleece for added insulation and protection.

5. How do I install a car cover for snow protection?

Before installing the cover, clear your vehicle of snow and ice. Place the cover over your car, making sure it covers all necessary areas (including the roof, windows, and mirrors). Secure the cover by using built-in straps, grommets, or clips provided with the cover. Make sure all edges are snug and free of gaps to ensure the best protection from snow and ice.

6. Can car covers be used for long-term storage in cold weather?

Yes, car covers can be used to protect your vehicle from the harsh elements during long-term storage in the winter. Make sure the cover is properly fitted, secured, and periodically checked for any damage or wear. In addition to the cover, use a suitable storage location that provides protection from moisture, wind, and other environmental factors.

7. Are car covers resistant to ice accumulation and damage?

The best-quality car covers are designed to be water-resistant and windproof, reducing the risk of ice accumulation and damage. However, it's still important to remove accumulated snow and ice from the cover promptly, especially after significant snowfalls, to prevent damage and ensure optimal performance.

8. How often should I clean my car cover in the winter?

Car covers should be cleaned periodically to ensure they remain effective at protecting your vehicle. In winter, this may mean more frequent cleanings to remove salt, grime, and other debris. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for cleaning and maintenance, as some materials may require specific care instructions.

9. Can I use the same car cover for summer and winter protection?

While some car covers are designed to provide year-round protection, not all will offer optimal performance in both summer and winter. Materials that are breathable and lightweight may be ideal for hot weather, while thicker, more insulated materials can be better for protecting your vehicle in the cold and snow. Consider the specific needs and conditions of your region and vehicle when selecting a cover that will provide the best protection throughout the year.

10. How can I store my car cover when not in use?

Car covers should be properly stored and maintained to prolong their lifespan. After removing the cover from your vehicle, gently brush off any loose snow, dirt, or debris. Fold or roll the cover neatly, and store it in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area to prevent mildew or damage from moisture. Following manufacturer's instructions on storage can also help keep your cover in optimal condition for extended use.

2024.05.19 07:45 SurrenderToJesus Being offended by scripture is historical and prophesized. Conviction is NOT condemnation nor judgment.

Condemnation and judgment are the PUNISHMENT of sin. The execution of judgment is punishment. Taking offense to a Christian who speaks the word of God because a bible verse "struck the wrong chord" in your spirit doesn't mean you are being judged by them. True followers of Christ more than anyone understand forgiveness. It is not that we are perfect, it is that Jesus rescued us from our sin and we choose to turn from it. We still stumble in sin from time to time but the difference is we now strive for righteousness. Receiving Jesus Christ breaks the slavery to sin and binds you into the slavery of righteousness. Just as Jesus sees our hearts not our sin, true believers are no different.
I say true believers because many people use Christianity as a justification for hate speech, thus having tainted the reputation of true believers. We are called to speak the Truth in the hope of conviction which leads to repentance. And repentance to salvation. The truth, while may sting, is not judgment nor hate speech, it is directly from scripture not our own conscious.
John 8:3-7
And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
Casting a stone at her is the judgment only someone WITHOUT sin can enforce. Thus, God is the only righteous judge of man wholly justified to dish out punishment.
Conviction is NOT condemnation. If you experience conviction through followers of Christ speaking the True word of God, it is for your benefit. The LORD saved me on the brink of death and He is doing the same when we feel convicted. We shouldn't take offense, instead be glad the LORD has given us grace and opportunity to turn away from our sinful nature. Sin once full-birthed, brings forth death. The gospel is GOOD NEWS and should give us all so much hope. He is coming to our rescue as the time grows nearer and nearer. There's only so much he can do without us allowing Him into every aspect of our lives.
John 8:9-11
And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

2024.05.19 07:45 SerenityCravings Stressing out over property purchase

I recently entered into an agreement to purchase and now am massively freaking out as to whether I have made a mistake.
I am in the due diligence period and thinking my god what have I done.
I felt ok about it initially but now that its more really I want to back pedal out of it.
I am concerned about the potential impact on my financial situation. I can afford to buy. But currently I invest in more liquid assets like shares and index funds and commodities and gold and bitcoin and savings accounts and term deposits and peer to peer lending. I feel very secure. And I am feeling very insecure at the thought of having so much money in an illiquid property that will also still cost me money and could well end up being seriously defective as you never know because due diligence does not always pick everything up.
I tend to really dislike change so that will be part of it. I dislike uncertainty.
What to do? I feel like I am about to lose the plot. Is this a bad idea and should I pull out?

2024.05.19 07:44 httpscharliep Cavalier Puppy

I’m wanting to surprise my partner with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. It’s one of their favorite breeds, and after intensive breed research, I think a CKCS would fit perfectly into my life as well. Every aspect of the dog checks all of the boxes I find necessary for a future companion.
I’m making this post because I wanted to hopefully get some tips and insight from some people who own CKCS. What are some training tips and training methods you’ve found helpful and effective (or some that weren’t helpful and effective) with CKCS? Certain things they do or certain behaviors that they have? What is grooming like for you? How was the puppy stage? What do you look for in a reputable CKCS breeder, and do you have any breeder recommendations? (we live in the Tennessee area, but willing to travel within the states)
Also, i’m looking for ways to potentially surprise my partner. Getting the dog won’t be too much of a surprise, because the breed is something the both agreed on. So far, the only things holding us back is that we want to do more research/talk to more owners, research breeders, as well as save up money for the dog as well as expenses (supplies & emergency medical). What are some surprise ideas? I was thinking getting a collar and a tag with the names she picked out engraved, and gifting it to her, and then we can go pick out the puppy.
Thanks in advance :)

2024.05.19 07:42 EntireBeyond2366 Did she deserve/earn her role as Glinda?

I’m 50/50 and would like to hear what you guys think about this.
There’s no denying that she has loved Wicked/Wizard of Oz from a very young age. She’s on Tom Holland levels of manifesting her career, loudly stating her dream was to always play one of the leads of Wicked, before and during mainstream success.
Despite the criticism for her casting, I always thought ‘if that doesn’t show someone deserves a role, I don’t know what does’. I genuinely think there’s no other publicly known auditionee that would make sure to do Glinda justice the way that Ariana would. And she has the vocal talent for it so I never saw the problem.
But the question of whether she earned it fairly was always there when I saw pictures of Jon Chu with Scooter from years back, showing she had a connection with the director. Besides that, she has the powecontacts to find out when/where auditions would circulate, no matter who made the film. And the joke about her ‘waiting around in her car after auditions’ was always a bit weird. Considering she’s already a powerhouse in her own right, I just feel like the other girls never stood a chance for this role which isn’t really fate or manifestation. It’s just an equal transaction I guess.
But i understand musicals have done quite horribly in the box office these past few years. Even Cats, a cast filled with A-listers, including Taylor Swift flopped financially. Ariana is a huge name so ticket sales will be guaranteed from her large fanbase, especially as this is her first lead role.
Even if she didn’t earn her role in a fair way, I can’t agree that she doesn’t deserve it. She’s had the love/dedication almost all her lifetime and there’s no question that she has the talent for it.

2024.05.19 07:40 Burrito_enjoyer525 So do I not get a HD crt?

Hi everyone i’m completely new to CRTs cos i didn’t grow up w them lol but rlly like the retro look it has.
I’m looking for a CRT i can play ps2, wii and ps3 games on (including some of the light gun games) and maybe watch anime/old films on sometimes. (dk if this is relevant but most of the games will be “backups” lmao) Ideally i’d want a good quality picture so was thinking a HD model.
However I heard that the HD ones don’t let you play light gun games on them so now idk which one to get…
I don’t want a big one cos i’m going to put it on my desk. Somewhere between 14-24” i think (does that inch measurement apply to the screen size or whole thing btw? I looked it up but it didn’t rlly clear things up😭)
I’d rather not spend more than ~£100 too so nothing crazy expensive pls (unless you believe I might get lucky and find a good deal on one-in which case lmk the model and i’ll keep an eye out)
Any recommendations would rlly be appreciated :)

2024.05.19 07:40 ConfusedStair Is it worth upgrading from a 2080 Super right now?

I realized I was gaming on my PC less and less over the last year, to the point where I didn't even buy HellDivers 2 for PC and only got it on PS5. I've been facing instability for a long time, solved most of that in October or November when I realized an M.2 drive can fail without dying entirely. My rig was a 7th Gen i5 I'd originally planned to upgrade to an i7 at some point and never did. It was still unstable, and I'm pretty sure everything I did was CPU bound. I just finished assembling a new system with a 7800x3d on a MAG Tomahawk, with 32gb of RAM, a new case, and a new Seasonic 1000w PSU. I also ditched the now 7 year old kraken in favor of a Peerless Assassin, because I can't imagine an aio that old is doing well. Tossed my 6 month old SSD in it, and I'm sitting here looking at the 2080 Super.
That brings me to my question in title. Is the 2080 Super so far behind generationally that I'm better off trying to pick up a 4070? Should I save a bit more and aim to pick up a 4090? Am I still in a good enough place to hold out for when the 50 series cards start hitting shelves?
Thank you for any advice you can provide.
Edit: I'm running 1440p primary and 1080 secondary with no plans to upgrade monitors in the near future.

2024.05.19 07:39 PlentyOtherwise_ Feelings of guilt and the weight of the world on my shoulders.

I’m a second generation Asian American. Growing up my mom would always tell me about how hard life was over in Vietnam and how much of a struggle it was to come to America. Her and her siblings lost at sea for a month on a small fishing boat, and then rescued. Only to be sent to a refugee camp in Hong Kong for 4 years. She finally got to the states and met my dad, who was immature. They broke up when I was 9 months old. My mom struggled in the early years to raise me, I grew up on government hand outs, section 8, food stamps. I hated it, I didn’t blame my mom, I just hated the situation, I know it was rough for her to find employment with a language barrier. I told myself I’d do better. I would go to college and get a job that can take care of both of us. Then, I got pregnant before starting college. I was careless, I fucked up. I knew it wasn’t the life I wanted to live, so I got an abortion. I buried the guilt for a long time. I turned it into anger and in my mind I somehow spun it into motivation. I went to college just as planned. When I was 21, my uncle committed suicide. It shook the whole family. He was in a lot of gambling debt before he died. He asked me for money before he died, but I couldn’t help him. He owed my mom a lot of money too, which she’ll never get back now. Again, this made me so angry. Not only did I lose someone who was a father figure to me, but it hurt so much to see my mom so sad. I told myself, I needed to make it so this would never happen again. This isn’t the only sibling she has that’s fucked her over, being the oldest she spent her life taking care of her younger siblings and helping them in anyway she can. They’ve all managed to let her down by being gambling addicts and drug addicts. We kind of became the laughing stock to our extended family. It’s embarrassing. They’ve even poked fun at my uncles death. At 25, after graduating college and getting my first real job, I got married. We grew up with similar childhood struggles and I saw that he had ambition and goals very similar to mine. He’s really good to me and was there for me when my uncle passed. It felt good to have someone on my side and to be there for me. He understands my struggles. Today, we both have good paying jobs, and we own a home. I think I’ve made my mom proud. I’m able to help my mom out with bills. Sometimes I feel like it’s not enough, I know my mom says she’s happy or she’s at least content. She shaved her head and has converted to being a Buddhism nun so she can cope with all the sadness in her life. It just makes me so sad. I want to do so much more for her, I want everyone who’s laughed at us to see that they have nothing to laugh about now and the only way to make them shut up is too be on top and make a lot of money. While I do make good money, I start to feel guilty when I spend it. There’s always a voice in the back of my head telling me “you need to save it, invest it, make more money so you can make her proud. That way everyone will shut up”. I hate that I feel this way. I just want to be able to live a normal life like my friends do. Or just live life just for me. I just can’t let it go. I don’t know why. The stress and pressure is overwhelming, sometimes I feel like I’m going to go mad.
There’s so much more but that’s all for now I guess. Thanks for reading if you made it this far. I really needed to let it out.

2024.05.19 07:38 VirtualAdeptGirl Curious about life as a gay man on the Isle

So according to Ancestry.com and Ancestry DNA back when they actually connected you to cities, I've got some ancestry tracing back to the Isle of Man. I went back to school for my second bachelors in CS, which I'm about to graduate in, so I could travel and do the digital nomad thing. I have been to a few small island communities, Mackinac Island, Key West, Catalina, and I've really liked all of them.
I'm really into history, especially when it involves on of my ancestors, I love to stand in a place and see or touch a thing that one of my distance ancestors interacted with. It makes history feel more real for some reason, like I think about how some piece of me has physically been here before. (I mean it's more so with matrilineal ancestors because of the whole, thing with inheriting physical cells, not just dna, from the person that gives birth to you, and how those cells can be passed for generations through the umbilical cord...)
Anyway, the idea of getting to experience the culture of a place where I can trace my people to being from, seems really cool.
As the topic says though, I'm gay. I get that it's unlikely people are going to try to outright gay bash me, but how welcoming are people to gay people on the island? Like am I going to be able to make any friends while I'm there? Is there a LGBT community there, that has like a place folks go, or events, or like a group that once you meet people they have house parties or something? Like I don't want to move there, just to have no one to socialize with.
