"Explain your past, Musa" the gov'ness walks at my right, shielding my from the piercing sun as we walks with the caravan. After the trench was dismantled, we are walking by foot to reach the capital, as the trench-line have been pushed far into our homeland.
"I was a cook when the war started, gov'ness" and now I am left wondering why did she chose me from anyone else in the caravan, there's the sergeant, the whom she asked to see earlier today.
"You have been trusted to cook rations for your company, as early as the war?" her baroque companion, similarly donned in her armor, walks close by ours, but never overtook us.
"No, gov'ness, I was a 10 years old when the war started, the war went for seven years and I fought for the last two" before she came, with weapons of the stars that could've decimate my trench instead of theirs
"Such a young man you are, seven years ago, the Emperor grants me audience, revealing that I was his progenitor"
This talk about an "imperium" across the stars and the deified emperor has gotten me worried. Is that her reason for talking to me, to ease my pain before sending me to the stars far from here? Or simply an act of pity?
The meager town came into view, and was it not for the ancient structure, we would've thought this was anywhere but the capital. Gray skies and beaten earth have become the synonym for the heart of Nagorow.
"I must say, this was not our expectation when your leader came into contact with my ship, begging for salvation" the gov'ness depart from me, and my instinct was to follow her, but who am I to her? And so I stay put and follow the rest of the caravan back to the main camp.
"You're lucky to have an audience with the Lady, runt" one of gov'ness' companion knocked me to the dirt, assuming that he's doing it out of spite and jealousy. I can see him walking to gov'ness
"I apologize for my companion's doing" another of gov'ness', as he extends his fingers that allowed me to stand to my feet "Lucius was indeed jealous, he was our best melee combatant and our Primarch haven't even bat an eye for him"
"Is that a rare thing?" Lucius and the gov'ness seems to enter the structure, doing their business there. I quickly glance at my watch, the gray sky seems to be forever, and it shows 1641. And I quickly look back at the gov'ness companion
"It is, perhaps Mother saw something within you, perhaps yours was interesting at the moment" the giant release his helmet, letting his bronze hair free from the confine "I am Rylanor, pleasure to meet you, Musa"
"As is mine, gov'nor"
The Sejm was delightful in seeing Fulgrim and her companions, as well as the news of the apparent victory on the frontlines. Such delight warrants them to spent their moneys on a grand feast right at the capital, inviting everyone within range to attend, with the guest of honor being the gov'ness herself.
"I would have thought you are with Mother, Musa" Rylanor brought two plates in his palm, the plate whom was enough for me was made miniscule by his hands, each contained meager food they could thrown
"Thanks, gov'nor" the feast gives us chair to sit, yet here I stand with him, outside of the building. Somehow the gov'nor chose to make a companion out of me, whilst gov'ness over there busy herself with her empire in the suns.
"I almost forgot what a food taste, Musa, back in the campaign, we would be served liquid ration with occasional starch" I took a look at him, and his plate was already cleaned
"You should try my cooking then, I cook better"
We let a simple laugh from the situation, from a soldier to another, from a human to another too. The door barges open and whom I thought to be Lucius emerge, escaping the feast.
"It's obnoxious inside, Rylanor, if you wish to see me, then don't, I'm heading to the nearest landing coordinate" and went he goes, somewhere place only he, gov'nor and gov'ness know. Something that I would not understand no matter how much gov'nor taught me.
"I have to agree with dear Lucius there" and speak of the gov'ness, and she shall came, looking at the horizon "they barely separate the nobility and the peasant"
I didn't mean to stare, but gov'ness wore something fine, something you'd see from paintings high in temple's ceiling, an ascendant of man. Looking carefully, it seems she wore old Nagorovian dress and modify it to suit her stature, or rather, her figure. She need not a corset, it seems.
"The food is delectable, Mother" Rylanor already took my plate without my knowing, something that I relent
"Every food is delectable when you are starved of them, dear Rylanor"
We all watched as a star suddenly rose at the horizon, perhaps something to do with Lucius and his departure. I suppose this is our future, being shackled by another uncaring emperor to fight the dangers of mankind.
"Say, Rylanor, but does that star seems approaching us?" and behind Lucius' ascend, a second star indeed looks as if its getting nearer. Just before I respond, nor gov'nor did for that matter, the air raid sirens blare and screech
"It is too late to dodge the missile, Mother, and I am the only one still wearing my armor, I would suggest taking a shield behind me" Rylanor easily stood and tower over us. I didn't even wait as I quickly take cover.
"Don't be ridiculous, Rylanor, these brutes couldn't even muster the technology to weaponize simple nuclear reaction" Rylanor didn't wait and cover me with his entire figure, and I just prayed that whatever nuclear is nor what reaction it cause would not be as devastating as I'd fear.
The moment of impact was blurry, but there was an apparent pain riddled to it, as the temperature rose akin to a sun blasting us with the heat. Like what was drilled into my head, I quickly wrap my entire face with anything, covering up the assuredly loud aftermath and the shrapnel flying around. I couldn't hear
And I wish I wouldn't hear
By the time the air around began to cool, my throat was hoarse, as if I have been shouting the entire time. It wasn't until I noticed the spasmic movement on my mouth that I realized, I have been barking around.
"At ease, gov'nor, at ease lads" I chanted
"It seems it was a nuclear explosion, Mother, albeit a primitive version of it" Rylanor seems to ignore my rant, addressing the gov'ness instead. He then release me, before coughing up liquids right at my face "apologies" he mumbles
"Be damned your humor, Rylanor" I hear the gov'ness, rasping in breath as I slowly gather my senses "Musa, you lived it seems" my eyes were blinking rapidly, due to the heat and the dust it caused "oh Rylanor, I apologized for your condition".
When my eyes fully recovered, I saw only desolation. No Man's Land was gentler than this, water and mud found refuge within them after all. But what I saw was beyond it, ruins and dry earth, trees and building charred, and people would likely evaporate. Peoples, on whom I was fighting with and fighting for, for two damned years. I couldn't take it anymore, first Maria and now this? Fate was far too cruel
Liquid barge through my mouth, followed close by every air in my lungs and waters in my eyes. There was no rythym, only that I was doing it in instinct, lying on all fours at the stairs near the gov'nor and gov'ness.
Only then did I brave to stand up, looking at them and the impact it caused. Gov'nor seems to be stuck in his place, unable to move as his hair rotted away and flesh melts to his armor. Now I understand why did he puke. The gov'ness was way less impacted, as her clothing burnt with the flesh on her skins, with her lying on her back.
"Cease your staring, Musa" she quickly commanded
"Yes ma'am" I quickly slap my cheek, a soldier need to finish his duties until the bitter end, and the enemy was no better after all "orders, gov'ness?"
"You're waiting for my orders?" she slowly sat herself, throwing out blood from her mouth while her arms sizzle and creates smoke "so it seems, help me get to one of landing coordinates" when she did sat, she saw her own legs, crushed from the debris of the railings and burnt to crisp "it seems I would have to relegate the matter of combat to you"
"Private Musa at the ready, gov'ness" so soon to serve this faraway empire, and my first duty is to escape the chaos that will ensue. And first, I need to find a cart or I will be carrying the giant on my back
"Musa, before you go" Rylanor rasp and wheeze as he reach for something, before he carved it with letters and numbers "you are familiar with latitudes and longitudes of your planet, I assume, and if not then you can ask Mother for direction" he gave me the knife, on which he have engraved numbers.
"And what will happen to you, gov'nor?" I took the knife and pocket it, then looking back at the gov'ness
"I will be fine, Musa, all I ask is that you deliver Mother there to the place, and rest assured that you will be awarded"
I ignore the last part, something about the futility in wealth and glory that I realized, living as a cook my entire life before becoming a soldier taught me that. I quickly strip my clothing, and though I have to face the cold soon, finding the gov'ness means of transportation is more valuable. I quickly wrapped the gov'ness legs with a shirt, then I cut another of my shirt into pieces before I wrapped it at her so I can carry her off, my suspender helped in holding her together too
"Something tells me I won't enjoy the journey" Fulgrim murmurs as she rest on my shoulder
"Be safe Mother, I pray that Musa will be sufficient to you"

STORY

"A Warframe corrupted by the Void, its Operator still searches for their lost partner to this day, even if it means becoming corrupted themselves."
Kevalin - the lost Warframe's Operator - is a Quest-specific character that would be introduced in the "Corruption Of Mondar" questline. In his desperation, he reaches out to the Tenno to assist him in searching for his old companion, as his exposure to the raw Void begins to corrupt him too.
The Quest would involve following up on clues about Mondar's whereabouts, learning more about Kevalin's dedication to this specific Warframe, and trying to find a cure for the two's corruption before it spirals out of control.
Upon completion of the Corruption of Mondar quest, players would be able to select Kevalin as a playable variant of the Operator in the Transference room, as well as gain progress towards unlocking Mondar himself as a playable Warframe.

GAMEPLAY - KEVALIN, "EDGE OF CORRUPTION"

As an Operator corrupted by the Void, Kevalin's powers differ from those of the Tenno:
​

• Rapid Combat - When using Transference, Kevalin dashes forward from the Warframe for a short distance. If he impacts with a surface during this dash, Kevalin causes an explosion of Void spikes around himself, dealing damage to nearby enemies.

​

• Tainted Shield - Using the Void Mode input causes Kevalin to create an impenatrable shield of Void spikes around himself. Every time the shield takes damage, it consumes a small amount of energy, and will disappear when the energy runs out.

​

• Tainted Step - Using the Void Sling input causes Kevalin to blink in the targeted direction. Upon exiting the blink, nearby enemies receive a small amount of Puncture damage, and are slightly slowed down for 2 seconds. Holding the input gradually increases Tainted Step's range, while also allowing better aiming for your desired location.

​

• Tainted Spike - Using the Void Beam input causes Kevalin to launch out a set of Void spikes towards the targeted location. Unlike the Tenno's Void Beam, Kevalin's primary attack has a slow rate of fire, but grants greatly increased damage in return. Because of his corruption, Kevalin is unable to make use of AMPs.

• Pure Release - Using the Void Blast input causes Kevalin to release a blast of pure Void energy in a small area in front of himself. Holding down the input allows for continuous damage, at the cost of rapidly draining his energy. Pure Release can still be used when energy is depleted, but will begin to cost 1 health per second to use.

GAMEPLAY - MONDAR

• Passive - Negative Status Effects affect Mondar 50% less (Reduced slow from cold, lower damage from bleed, faster recovery from knockdown, etc.).

• Ability 1 - Summon the Void Angels' claws to burst from the ground. Press the ability button again while the claws are active to cause them to rapidly close in on the center. Hold down the ability button in either state to get a better indication of the claws' damage area.

​

• Ability 2 - Transfigure your corrupted body, and wreak havoc with an exalted Void shotgun from Mondar's arms. Headshot kills have a chance to cause the enemy to explode, dealing Void damage in a small radius.

​

• Ability 3 - Sacrifice a small protion of health to cover yourself in tainted Void spikes. Upon activation, incoming damage is absorbed, and once the invulnerability phase ends, any incoming damage is reflected back at the attacker, with the previously absorbed damage being added on top of the enemy's dealt damage.

​

• Ability 4 - Summons an entity corrupted by the Void, which grants different effects depending on the abilities that were active when it was summoned:

• Ability 1 active = The Void Entity periodically impales nearby enemies, keeping them immobilized.

​

• Ability 2 active = The Void Entity periodically releases bursts of Void contamination. Enemies affected by the AoE will have their Headshot hitbox substantially increased for a short time.

​

• Ability 3 active = The Void Entity periodically restores the health of nearby allies.

​

• More than one ability active = The Void Entity cycles between its active modes, though each mode's effect is weakened compared to its single-ability version.

DETAILS AND REFERENCES

• The name Kevalin is a name of Sanskrit origin, and means "Seeker of the absolute." As his character's entire purpose is to seek out his old partner and Warframe, i felt like the name was appropriate.
• The name Mondar is an altered version of Moander, the god of rot, corruption and decay from Forgotten Realms. I was hoping to use a real god or deity for his namesake, but ended up going with this after i couldn't find anything.

Anyway title. If you and a girl are in any sort of sexual relationship, you either use condoms or don’t, maybe you use the pill, maybe you pull out.
Whatever you use it’s an agreed upon form of contraception with the intent of enjoying sex but not getting pregnant.
The only 100% effective contraceptive is abstinence though. But that’s not realistic.
So you as 2 consenting adults agree that if she gets pregnant she’ll abort the kid.
Now she does in fact get pregnant and suddenly has a change of heart.
The guy should be able to say hey I’m out, you do you but I’m legally and morally free and clear, I’m a sperm donor for all intents and purposes.
Why? Cause she agreed to it, she’s an adult. You both made whatever choices you made towards contraception with this agreed framework in place, she shouldn’t get to renege and suffer no consequences for not keeping her word.
If anything not doing this just encourages women to deceptively “conveniently change their minds” cause there’s no incentive not to if done without this framework.
A common argument is what about the child. I ask those people, what about the child in sperm donation matters?
A child born to a sperm donor might also have a mother who singularly couldn’t care for the child but we don’t look towards the sperm donor to provide, why? Because we know it’s not right. That wasn’t the deal, it’s on you lady.
There’s no moral difference an adult woman unilaterally decided to have a kid. She should solely bear the responsibilities.
I will not address the evidentiary problem as an argument against this. Yes, it would be difficult to establish that such an agreement was in fact made but that’s besides the point.
To argue on this point concedes the larger point that financial abortions should be viable in these established circumstances.
If a man say by text or recording could prove that she said she’d have an abortion and then changed her mind then he’s free and clear.
I imagine that there’ll be some discussion about what contraceptive (or lack thereof) is used.
I’m of the opinion that it doesn’t matter since no form of contraception is 100% effective except for abstinence (barring spermjacking).
Sure pull out is much less effective than the pill + spermicide + a condom, but since it’s still perfectly possible to get pregnant in this scenario they are effectively the same.
The only exception would be if the woman could prove that the man ejaculated in her intentionally after promising to pull out.
Hey a woman’s free to change her mind, but not a man’s obligations, he can opt in if he chooses but if he opts out ✌🏿
And yes you crazy people if the child wants at 18 he can go visit his/her father.

I have a deviated septum that is causing breathing issues during sleep. My left nostil is the one most effected and I often can barely breathe through that side. My (EDS aware) ENT recommended getting the VivAer procedure done vs a septoplasty because of my hEDS and poor healing. This does sound like the better option due to not having to go under a knife. I was kinda hoping to get rhinoplasty surgery done at the same time (out of pocket) as the septoplasty but it's not that big of a deal and I was worried about how well it'd heal anyways.
I saw some posts about VivAer here that were generally positive but I figured I'd post again to see if anyone else would like to share their experience with it. Was it painful? Did the local anesthesia work well enough? Did it help with any breathing issues? For how long? How was the healing process? Would you do it again if problems returned?

Hey everyone. My husband and I recently took a second look at our monthly subscriptions and realized we could subscribe to Apple One for basically the same price as the Apple subscriptions we were already paying for. As a result, we effectively get Apple Fitness+ for "free". We have had a Peloton Bike since ~2020, and for a long time used it quite regularly though our usage has dropped off significantly in the last year or so as a result of various life changes etc (two kids). I decided to give AF+ a fair shot to see if it could replace Peloton in our arsenal.
So far, I think it's.... just fine? The cycling workouts are pretty good. I like the instructors, and I like that they don't (at first glance) seem to have the same inflated egos that many Peloton instructors have developed over the past few years, which I've been finding quite grating. To the extent the classes aren't necessarily as hard, they're easily scalable, and I find the burn bar to be particularly motivating. Off the bike, I have found AF+'s Time To Run classes to be quite comparable to Peloton's outdoor runs. The AF+ kickboxing and dance classes are, IMO, far superior to the options available at Peloton. I have yet to try AF+'s strength or yoga options but I didn't use Peloton Strength much and I'm not a yoga connoisseur so I suspect I won't have strong opinions either way.
All that to say, while Peloton puts out a ton more content per week, AF+ seems to put out more than enough (it looks like there's ~2-3 new classes of each type per week) and the quality is in some ways far better. And it's effectively free, rather than $60/month (!!). Why aren't more people switching? Or at least considering switching..? Like I don't understand why this isn't a more common path for people to take, and I'm wondering if the other shoe is going to drop at some point and I'm just not prepared for it.
TL;DR: Why don't more people leave Peloton for AF+?

While Frieren is good to the extent that it focuses on the quiet slice-of-life-ish character moments that are its strength, when the story deviates from such scenes the flaws in its writing become apparent. In particular, there is a certain reliance on contrivances to present an idea to the readers or to make the plot go a certain way. Here's a few I noticed in the Aura arc—two minor and one major examples.
The flashback.
In the flashback, Frieren and her party encounter a young demon girl and are prepared to kill her when she starts calling out for “mother”. Some people decide to spare her life and give her a chance in the village. Frieren objects, but can't convince them so she relents. Later, the demon girl kills her adoptive family and tries to offer up their human child to the parents of the child she killed. At that point, Frieren exposits how demons only use language to trick other races and catch their prey, and how demons don't raise their offspring. She challenges the demon girl's use of “mother”, and the demon admits that she doesn't understand its meaning and only used it so they would have pity on her and spare her life.
So, why didn't Frieren, who hates demons more than anything in the world, explain all this sooner? She could have saved those peoples' lives if she'd spoken up at the start, and afterwards she doesn't show remorse for not saying anything at the time. There are potential explanations for why she didn't say anything at the specific moment when the others suggested they spare the girl, but not for why she wouldn't say anything in all the time between then and when the demon killed her human foster parents. At the very least her party members should have known or been made aware of the nature of demons, since their whole purpose was fighting and killing demons. The impression I get is that it all happened this way just so that the reveal could be more shocking.
It also seems contrived to me for the demon girl to kill her foster parents and offer up their daughter just to make peace with the woman whose child she'd killed, and for her to freely admit that she was only crying for “mother” to trick them, though there's little enough substance there that I wouldn't press the point. Call it a feeling, if you like.
Inviting the demons.
This is a big one, since Graf Granat inviting the demons into the city is what instigates this entire arc; if his doing so makes no sense then that weakens the arc as a whole.
Even if he doesn't know all there is to know about demons, Granat surely knows that they're dangerous. They must be, to have been causing trouble for his city for so long, and to have killed his son. If he's serious about negotiating, then, he has no reason to let more than one demon into his city. Arguably, he doesn't need to let any of them in, and could negotiate through envoys he sends to them.
Letting in all three demons could make sense if he means to kill them instead, since such a trick definitely wouldn't work more than once, but if that was the plan then he's gone about it in a horribly stupid manner.
If he intends to kill something as dangerous as a trio of demons, ideally he would set up an ambush with archers or crossbowmen in the palace courtyard or some such place, the lead them into it and let the soldiers do their job. Instead he leads them into the castle, take up a sword himself, and threatens them with death as revenge for killing his son.
Putting himself in danger like this is stupid, but it could make sense since it's so personal for him that emotion is overriding reason. The problem with that is he relents as soon as the demon Lugner claims that his own father was killed by humans too and that he still wants to end the war. If he's persuaded so easily not to kill them, then clearly he wasn't all that emotional.
Granat then leaves the demons unwatched and unguarded. Why? Even if he's “a man who bears a deep empathy”, he's still stupid for leaving them with essentially free rein in his palace.
Almost right after deciding not to kill the demons, he comes back and wants to kill them again because one of their demons is missing and a guard was found dead in the dungeons. Yes, a guard was found dead after he let the demons into the city and let them wander around freely. He's fully responsible for the man's death because of his blatantly stupid decisions, and yet he seems to show no remorse, and he definitely shows no surprise. So did he really believe the demons might be telling the truth about wanting to make peace, or didn't he?
From a story perspective, what is the point of all this? Why have Granat threaten to kill the demons, spare them, then threaten to kill the demons again, all in the span of two chapters? All it accomplishes is giving another example of a demon lying to save their skin. As for the in-world explanation, even if this can all somehow be explained by Granat's character, at its best it's still one big case of plot-induced stupidity.
Not knowing what a father is.
As I mentioned before, when Graf Granat threatens the demons as revenge for his son's death, Lugner wins him over by speaking fondly of his father. However, as explained before, demons don't raise their offspring or have close relations with their parents.
This is all fine, but then once they're alone, another demon asks Lugner, “What is a father?” and he answers, “Who knows.”
Lugner not knowing what a father is makes no sense. Demons aren't just using language like the man in the Chinese room thought experiment, saying all the “right” things without any understanding of their actual meaning. They're clearly capable of understanding the meaning of words since they use language to communicate with each other and express their own thoughts, and “father” can't possibly be that foreign a concept to them. Demons reproduce. They have offspring, and they have progenitors. Even if they aren't raised by their parents, that doesn't mean they can't at least have a bare-bones understanding of “father” as “male progenitor”. They won't have the same emotional reaction to the concept as humans do, and would struggle to understand why that reaction exists, but that's a separate issue entirely.
I can accept the demon girl in the flashback not knowing what a mother is since she appears to be young enough that she might not have had the chance to get familiar with the concept, but Lugner is clearly educated and intelligent enough that he should know what a father is, especially if he's using the word so flawlessly. He could have commiserated with Granat about a fictitious son instead, and then it could have been argued that he was just repeating Granat's story back to him without understanding it, but going to “father” instead shows more understanding than that.

The country began on this path after FDR began the process of centralizing the federal bureaucracy through new deal legislation. Similar to the Roman Empire, far too many government agencies, services, military establishments, and institutions emerged without even a semblance of the ability to pay for all the government functions. This process, although it saved the nation from the Great Depression and won WWII, was unsustainable then and its collapsing now.
The very idea that the federal government could and should have the power to regulate social issues is alien to the founders ideal of the constitution. Social issues belong to local democratic units like states or municipalities, the very fact that social issues are even debated on a federal level is completely antithetical to a federal system of limited government.
The US will either collapse into regional powers and such regions will be perpetually backed by shifting international powers who seek to keep the North American continent constantly in chaos to avoid the American hegemony which lasted from about 1950-2020. The US was the most stable superpower during this time as even the USSR, constantly dealt with domestic/regional problems until its collapse in the 90s. In the coming decades US will undergo a similar collapse with various states succeeding with the help of foreign aid (from Russia or China obviously) and the federal government will annihilate the build wealth of the nation by waging a Russian/Ukrainian-style total war to regain control over the territory.
Again, the cause will be the massive disagreement regarding what social issues the federal government must address, EVEN THOUGH the federal government is not allowed to regulate social issues pursuant to the 9th and 10th Amendments. It’s extremely obvious, a “free” society of 300 million people literally cannot regulate social issues in a top down fashion simply because people across the cosmopolitan country have vastly different values. The nation is either generally free or the feds have police power and can regulate the most intimate aspects of your life and behavior. It’s one or the other and the nation has trended towards the latter despite maintaining the rhetoric of libertarian autonomy and individual freedom.
Combine the fact that the hundreds of multinational corporations in the US could very easily survive without the federal government due to their massive economies of scale. Amazon, for example, doesn’t need federal assistance, what Amazon needs is armed mercenaries to guard their assets and offices. Companies like Amazon could exist and make profits even if the Government in Washington collapsed. In short, although corporations have captured the US government through corruption and lobbying, many of the largest of these corporate entities don’t need the government to exist like the average person or small company does. Therefore, the most powerful voices in our society literally could and would survive without the government established in 1776.
TL;DR: there are many, many entities both corporate and foreign which actively seek to eliminate the federal government of the United States. There are millions of citizens who actively fight over how the federal government should mirror totalitarian regimes to either enforce social issues or persecute them. Either way, the present system is in the process of eliminating local, state-based self rule in favor of centralization, but the constitution does not contemplate this regime and therefore, the country will collapse under these inconsistencies or become an autocratic regime like the other superpower counties in the modern world.

England - my mum, female, 72, has what they think is gliomatosis cerebri (definitely diffuse glioma in the frontal lobe). They have predicted she has weeks to months to live. They are currently considering whether to perform a biopsy to confirm diagnosis or whether this would cause too much stress.
This all started on the 25th April when she fell at home, we will never know but we think it could have been a seizure. She’s now been in hospital for 3.5 weeks and waiting to be discharged to a nursing home.
She has been on a course of 8mg dexamethasone and the instant results were remarkable - she went from acting like a young child with only yes/no answers before the steroids to sitting up in bed and having a semi decent conversation. She started the steroids on the 10th May. They were going to originally start tapering her off the steroids but because the results had a positive effect they’re keeping her on 8mg.
Now 9 days later, she is still alert although losing concentration and focus (much like when she was admitted) - not answering questions if distracted by something and she is now incredibly confused, convinced she’s not in hospital etc. There wasn’t much confusion when she was admitted but this is definitely more prominent now, kind of like dementia.
Is this a sign that the steroids are starting to lose efficacy or is a side effect of the steroids? Any advice appreciated and I know it may not be an answer I want to hear.

If representation matters- white cis men would naturally want to play games with main characters such as themselves. They cant be blamed for not buying diverse games. The left argue constantly about appropriation and decolonization, so naturally white people would want their countries and culture free from such effects as well.
Ironically I even think this surge has increased with identity politics, the group pointed out to be the ”bad one” will be even more inclined to want in-group bias.
If anti-white and anti-western sentiment recedes I probably wont be as sensitive, but as of now? Yeah representation matters for us too.

Long time huffer first time poster.
I first had a whiff by incident years back at my local bar. Instant desire for more. Initially I started out with fresh cakes in private, worried I'd get caught sniffing in public. Well it just didn't hit the same as the first time, so I started aging my own pucks at home. But that can only hold me over for so long, my craving of wild fermented cakes has taken over.
I've started going to the bar more frequently just to get my fix. Problem is I've got to drink beers to hang out there so it's not too suspicious. On top of this I've been stopping by the McDonald's on my way home to get an extra bump before I turn in for the night. But that's also suspicious so I've been getting a burger every time.
Recently I've been putting on a lot of weight even though my sniffing habits have only changed from at home to in the wild. I was curious if anyone knew what effects public cakes can have on weight gain? That's the only thing I can think of causing this.
TLDR: started public whiffing and got fat, how?

Off and on for much of my adult life (I'm old) I've bounced around different methods. Occasionally I'd have a teacher, but then move and lose contact. Lately, I've just been going it alone in my Soto Zen practice of shikantaza.
As for Pure Land, I had been viewing it as a sort of safety net. A "why not" ancillary practice. I figure, if awakening is not realised in this lifetime, then I'm off to the Pure Land.
While that may be true on the surface, there's so much more to this practice. I realised this suddenly while reading Pure-Land Zen Zen Pure-Land - Letters from Patriarch Yin Kuang. Viewing Buddha Recitation as merely a safety net is to overlook the profundity inherent in the simple practice and to miss out on genuine Faith and Vow.

Thus, the Zen tradition points directly to the Self-Mind, seeing one’s Nature and achieving Buddhahood. This is a perfect, direct shortcut. However, we are speaking here from the viewpoint of the inherent Dharma Body (that is, principle or noumenon), bypassing phenomenal cultivation and attainment grounded in the law of Cause and Effect. If we were to consider the different levels of cultivation and achievement, there would be no difference between Zen and the Sutra Studies method.
However, in the midst of this Dharma-Ending Age, there are very few good spiritual advisors, while the capacities of sentient beings are limited. It is difficult enough to find someone who is awakened to the Way, not to mention one who has truly attained Enlightenment! Thus, knowing that sentient beings would find it extremely difficult to achieve liberation by relying on self-power alone, Sakyamuni Buddha taught, in addition to other methods, the special approach of Pure Land. With this method, as long as their Faith and Vows are true and earnest, even those who have committed the Five Grave Offenses or the Ten Evil Acts, may, on the verge of death, when the marks of the hells appear, follow the advice of a good spiritual advisor and recite the Buddha’s name one to ten times. Then, thanks to the compassionate power of Amitabha Buddha, even they will be received and guided to the Pure Land – not to mention those who practice wholesome deeds and do not commit transgressions!
The more diligently the cultivator engages in wholesome conduct and the deeper his power of concentration, the higher his level of rebirth will be. He will see Amitabha Buddha soon after rebirth and be able to hear the wonderful Dharma. Therefore, even those who have awakened to the Way, severed delusion and attained the Truth should dedicate all merits toward rebirth in the Pure Land, seeking perfect attainment of the Dharma Body and swift attainment of Buddhahood.

Emphasis added. This hit me hard. Indeed, how many of us have access to true teachers, and how many know anyone who is actually Enlightened or even truly awakened to the Way?
Buddha Recitation is not merely an expedient. It's quite possibly the only way to avoid eons of struggle. The fact that we're interested in this, reading and practicing, is the fruition of karmic conditions from who knows how many previous lives. Don't waste the opportunity!

Despite its loftiness, the Pure Land Dharma Door is a very easy method of cultivation. For this reason, not only do ordinary beings find it difficult to believe, but cultivators of the Two Vehicles (Theravada followers) also harbor doubts. This applies even to Bodhisattvas at the “expedient level.” Only those who have sown the wholesome seeds of Pure Land in previous lives as well as the higher level Bodhisattvas can truly have firm and deep Faith in it.

For those who don’t want to read all 40+ comments from the previous post. Thought I’d do some due diligence and summarise what I noticed. Also wanted to follow the new rules and post my name so here it is.

1. A president of a company going onto Reddit to tell past employees they’re wrong about 49 being a joke is very ironic. Only in 49 would a higher up take the time to attempt to defend the company on an obscure Reddit page.
   
2. Claiming that the posts on this Reddit page are “hurtful” while ignoring that the reason this page exists is because of the hurt and damage 49 caused to its own employees, shows a lack of company self awareness.
   
3. The “I’m open to dialogue, but only if you give me names” solely discredits your willingness to actually have an open dialogue. Obviously this page is filled with former employees, names are not needed for you to have an honest discussion about past experiences. It just sounds like bait to find out who is posting here. Which is pretty damn creepy.
   
4. If you wanted to have an actual effective post that was healthy, it could have been shortened down to “Hello all, I’m an executive at 49. I came across this page and was concerned from all the past negative experiences, I just wanted some insight into what made it a bad experience so we can continue to improve the work life of our current employees”. I’m sure so many of us would have been more than open to have a healthy and open dialogue about that.
   
5. I always thought that this Reddit was something small, but if an executive has to reach out to us, my god how much damage is it causing. And if it is causing a lot of damage to the company, shouldn’t you look inward first and think “Damn why is does this sub Reddit exist?” Before going on there and saying “Nooooooo you’re wrong about 49!!!!”
   

And give the laser cannon the ability to select fire between laser mode and quasar shot.
Balance choices:
1: 3 + 1 Mags. Quasar shot is reload after each shot. Charge time will be like the og quasar. Can switch to laser fire mode which reloads after heatsink burnout.
Or
2: 1 + 1 Mag. Quasar shot is cooldown based, 2 shots back to back will cause burnout of heat sink, followed by a reload. Charge time is og Quasar. Can switch to laser fire mode. Laser has reduced heat build up to try and balance for Quasar cooldown.
Unorthodox. Maybe? But these are effective options to balance Quasar. No more infinite ammo. And we can essentially get the og Quasar in return.

Basically the title although I have a few concepts of my own that I will share.
Remembrance: Sounds like a path to keep the team alive, Abundance does so with healing and preservation does so with shields and taunts. So I am guessing that the Remembrance can specialize in defensive buffs and stalling. Like giving allies buffs that reduces the damage they take, not to a degree that it powercreeps say Preservation but enough that they won't get one shot out of the blue. I am thinking they can do things like increase effect res, make them take less dot damage, and for 5 stars who have more unique niches they could for example freeze allies to stop them from taking actions but make them unable to be targeted by enemies for the duration, or maybe having an ultimate that rewinds the entire team's health states back to a prior point, so if you have some members who go down this ultimate can save your run. Those are just some ideas I have thought about.
Elation: Sounds like the Trickster in Dragon's dogma, they would be able to change taunt priority and use misdirection to harm enemies, they can as an example place traps so that if an enemy attacks a specific ally they take a bunch of damage and suffer specific penalties, they could also gain unique buffs like elusive which lets them negate the enemy's next attack, and inherently they have very low taunt so enemies are unlikely to target them at all. Which gives them the freedom to set up traps and other devious counter effects on the battlefield to cause a lot of problems for enemies.
Voracity: I picture this path as sort of like an extreme version of Jing Liu. The characters following this path are a detriment to their party but would be nothing without them, they would constantly absorb ally buffs, hp and in some cases be able to consume an ally to power up a really strong attack like Chen Gong from FGO. They would also be beefy with lots of hp and the more your allies give up to them, the stronger they become over time turning into a raid boss on your team. Can be useful for more difficult and drawn out battles.
But what do you think guys? I don't think we will get other paths but its nice to speculate ideas for what they could be.

I’m incredibly pro-vax but have some anxiety around the rotavirus vaccine due to previous experience.
I’d love for someone to talk me through this anxiety with facts.
I’m a career nanny and has a child receive the oral rotavirus vaccine and it may have caused a bout of vomiting that led to feeding refusal and a whole slew of eating and weight related issues. We don’t know for sure if it was the oral vaccine that caused the vomiting. It’s possible he picked up a bug and it was coincidental timing. I understand vomiting is a rare side effect of the vaccine and most of the time it would not turn into anything as dramatic as what I experienced with this child. I understand both things but I am still so anxious about the possibility.
My baby is on the smaller side and gains weight slowly. I just need reassurance.
I am asking here because I know in parenting groups I most likely will not receive factual information.
