As a small business owner, I can attest that the Royal 500DX Cash Register has been an absolute game-changer for me. The dual LCD displays provide clear visibility for both the clerk and the customer, making transactions seamless and efficient.
One of the standout features is its capacity to handle up to 2,000 employees, which is more than adequate for a small to medium-sized business. Additionally, the unlimited messaging capability ensures that you won't miss any important announcements or updates. However, the product does feel a bit flimsy due to its predominantly plastic design, which might concern those who prefer a sturdier build.
Another fantastic aspect of this cash register is the 999 Price Look-Ups, allowing for quick processing of transactions. Programming four different tax rates also makes the setup process incredibly straightforward. On the downside, the impact printer, although functional, occasionally feels outdated compared to more advanced models.
Overall, the Royal 500DX Cash Register has proven to be a reliable and user-friendly addition to my small business. Its features cater to my daily needs and have undoubtedly contributed to the efficiency and success of my operations.

🔗Sharp XE-A102 Compact Electronic Cash Register with LED Display

I have been using the Sharp XE-A102 Electronic Cash Register for a start-up retail business, and it's been a reliable and efficient partner. The compact design allows it to fit easily in our small store, and the bright LED display makes it easy for us and our customers to see the transaction details. The 8 departments feature helps us organize our inventory, and the 80 PLU/Items capacity allows us to input all our products without issues.
One of the standout features of this cash register is its ability to accept different payment methods like cash, cheque, and credit card, which has made it easy for us to cater to our customers' preferred payment options. Additionally, the time and date display feature ensures that our transactions are accurate and timely.
However, there are a few minor drawbacks to the Sharp XE-A102. It can be a little noisy and slow compared to some other cash registers, which may be an issue during peak hours when we need to serve customers quickly. Moreover, the instructions provided are quite small, making them difficult to read and follow.
Overall, the Sharp XE-A102 Electronic Cash Register has been an excellent addition to our start-up retail business. Its compact design, 58 mm wide reliable printing, and ability to accept multiple payment methods make it a valuable tool for any small retailer. While it may have a few minor issues, the majority of users, including myself, are satisfied with its performance and recommend it to others.

🔗Professional XE Series Electronic Cash Register

https://preview.redd.it/9ghz5oaedd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=feaa1f9c3dd16f023352a745c133e2b9c5aab294
I recently added the Sharp XE Series Electronic Cash Register to my tiny boutique store, and I couldn't be happier. Before settling on this model, I spent a lot of time researching various cash registers, but the XE Series stood out for its advanced sales reporting capabilities and seamless tie-in with QuickBooks Pro. The moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by its sleek, professional appearance and built-in SC card slot for easy connectivity and data back-up.
Setting up the register was incredibly easy, and within just a few hours, it was ready to go. Its intuitive interface made training my employees a breeze. The thermal printer was a pleasant surprise; it's much quieter and faster than traditional receipt printers. Plus, the customizable receipts with graphics and logos definitely give my store a professional edge.
One of my favorite features is the automatic tax system, which not only saves time but also reduces the potential for errors and makes reporting so much easier. The locking drawer ensures security and comes with multiple bill and coin compartments, making deposits a lot more organized.
The only downside is the rather complicated user manual, which could definitely be improved. It's not a complete deal breaker, though, as there are plenty of helpful YouTube tutorials available online.
All in all, I'm thrilled with my purchase of the Sharp XE Series Electronic Cash Register. It's a perfect fit for my small business and a real game-changer when it comes to streamlining sales transactions and accounting. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cash register to anyone running a small retail or service business.

🔗Casio Single-Tape Thermal Cash Register for Business

https://preview.redd.it/9qo9ivmfdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b796fc73fe9d4964333dedf01204832108f7316c
Casio's PCR-T280 is a fantastic single-tape thermal cash register that offers more functionality for medium-sized businesses than entry-level models. With the ability to track up to 1,200 price lookups, it offers a level of specificity in item sales tracking not commonly found in its class. It also allows businesses to track sales up to eight different operators, making it an excellent tool for business tracking and growth.
One of the standout features of this product is its hygienic, antibacterial keyboard. In our current world, where cleanliness is paramount, this characteristic provides a measure of peace of mind for both business owners and customers alike. Furthermore, its multipurpose tray can hold money in four bill compartments and five coin compartments, ensuring the efficient flow of transactions.
The PCR-T280 also boasts a high-speed thermal printer, which can be used either for customer receipts or as a journal printer for recording all the store's activities. Its mode lock with key control feature provides multiple operation positions through physical keys, providing a level of security usually found in more expensive models.
Although it is not touch-screen, its simple and intuitive design makes it easy to program and use. Some users did find the manual a bit difficult to follow, but with a bit of practice, most find it quite manageable. With its ability to handle multiple sales tax needs and its capacity for PLU capabilities, the Casio PCR-T280 has proven itself as a reliable tool for various businesses, small or medium-sized.
However, one minor drawback is the depth of the money/change drawer, which could have been a little deeper for added convenience. Despite this minor issue, the vast majority of users recommend this register for its performance and price point, providing an excellent value for businesses looking for an affordable, reliable cash register solution.

🔗Heavy-Duty Cash Register with Alpha Keyboard and LCD Display

https://preview.redd.it/n49jkvmfdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=de539e0ebd57052b2847b9d3ccc982047c4b050e
As an avid user of cash registers in my grocery store, I recently discovered the Royal Alpha 1100ml Cash Register, and my experience has been quite satisfactory. This heavy-duty register is perfect for my high-traffic establishment, offering a reliable and swift cash management system that I can always depend on.
The first thing that caught my eye about this cash register was its single fast and quiet alphanumeric thermal printer, capable of handling over 1 million lines. It's been able to keep up with the constant rush of customers, making it a reliable addition to my store.
The large 10-line LCD user display and alpha keyboard ensure easy programming, which was a breeze, even for a beginner like me. The SD Card slot is another excellent feature, enabling efficient accounting data transfers to a PC, a necessity for any modern business.
However, I will say that the software included with the register can be a bit flaky at times. While it is supposed to read the x and z reports that the machine puts on the sd card, I sometimes find myself having to use the sd card to transfer report data manually. Additionally, getting in touch with their tech support doesn't seem to be very helpful, as they often provide no real technical assistance.
Despite these minor issues, the Royal Alpha 1100ml Cash Register has been a solid addition to my store. Its heavy-duty locking cash drawer with four slot bill and removable five slot coin tray, along with its automatic tax computation, has made managing funds and keeping track of sales much easier for me. If you're in need of a reliable cash register for your business, I'd highly recommend giving this one a try.

🔗Fast and Accurate Cash Register System with Thermal Printing and 8-Line Display

https://preview.redd.it/f33rfq0gdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e9314ab913ffe6b00f0a11467485ee790805c89a
I recently discovered the Sharp XEA407 Cash Register while searching for a reliable and feature-rich solution for my little grocery store. After trying it out, I must say it's exceeded my expectations.
The first thing that impresses anyone who lays their eyes on it is the sleek eight-line display. It's not just a pretty face though; it's got brains as well with 7000 Price Lookups (PLU's), allowing quick and accurate entry. The inclusion of 99 departments is brilliant as it makes managing diverse product types a breeze.
My favorite feature? Hands down, the microban keytops. They provide built-in antimicrobial protection, keeping those pesky germs at bay, which is particularly important given the current health situation. And let's not forget about the large 32GB SD card slot for computer connectivity and data storage.
However, there were a few hiccups too. The lack of French documentation was a letdown for me, a French-speaking Canadian. Plus, a few customers have reported missing parts upon delivery, making the product unusable.
So, while there are some minor issues, the Sharp XEA407 Cash Register has overall been a reliable and efficient addition to my store. It's fast, easy to set up, and offers more than enough features for most small businesses. If you're looking for a cash register that combines modern tech with dependability, this might just be the one for you.

🔗Royal 100Cx Portable Battery/AC Powered Cash Register

https://preview.redd.it/ehbrx3qgdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6336a0d1631936e4129065c3bb0ff8f80b083cff
As a small business owner, I've been on the hunt for a reliable, portable cash register to make sales easier at my farmer's market stand. The Royal 100Cx, with its compact design and battery-powered operation, has been a reliable companion for me. The automatic tax computation feature is a game-changer, allowing me to easily manage sales and taxes on-the-go. However, the initial setup can be a bit daunting, and the manual doesn't do a fantastic job of explaining everything.
The preset department pricing and sales analysis by category of merchandise are standout features that have helped me keep track of inventory and sales trends. It's crucial for businesses like mine, where inventory and sales fluctuate frequently. The ink roll printer provides a receipt printout, providing a professional touch to every transaction.
In terms of drawbacks, one thing to note is that the tax computation is limited to only four rates – VAT, Canadian, and a couple of others – which may not cater to everyone's business needs. However, for my small farm market business, it's more than sufficient.
Overall, the Royal 100Cx is a dependable piece of hardware, and it's been a significant asset in streamlining my sales process. It may have a slightly steep learning curve, but once mastered, it's a powerful tool for any small business seeking a portable, autonomous cash register solution.

🔗Royal 435dx Cash Register with 16 Department Capability and 8 Clerks

https://preview.redd.it/p46ibzsgdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=388c3cad238c37035aa583f7a2fca3ca9b3546fb
As a small business owner, I can attest to the convenience of the Royal 435dX Electronic Cash Register in my daily operations. Its 16 departments and 800 PLU's ensure an efficient flow of transactions, while the 8 clerk capacity and 4 tax rates enable seamless management, even for those serving in various locations or catering to international clientele.
One of the highlights of this cash register is the front and rear LCD displays, allowing both the clerk and customer to see each transaction clearly. The memory protection with backup batteries provides added security to safeguard data in case of a power outage, a particularly valuable feature for businesses operating in areas with unpredictable power supply.
However, a minor con would be the single station 57mm impact printer, which could limit the pace of transactions during peak rush hours. Also, the locking cash drawer tends to be a bit cumbersome, requiring more time than necessary to retrieve and return change.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Royal 435dX Electronic Cash Register has significantly improved my business operations, allowing me to keep track of transactions efficiently, even during peak hours. I would recommend this cash register to other small business owners looking for a reliable and feature-rich option that delivers exceptional performance at an affordable price point.

🔗Casio SE-S700 Cash Register: High-Speed Single-Station Thermal Printer

https://preview.redd.it/bw8m582hdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cda297dee8ba2852e9a6050cf6d8cd0952683543
I recently upgraded my old, heavy cash register to the Casio SE-S700, and I must say, it has made running daily transactions a breeze. The built-in rear customer display ensures that prices are accurate, while the 8 department keys and 999 PLUs make it a cinch to organize my inventory.
One of my favorite features is the customizable receipt header, allowing me to print unique messages on each customer receipt. The large, easy-to-read LCD display ensures that no mistakes are made during sales transactions.
However, there are a few cons to consider. The plastic construction doesn't instill much confidence in its durability, and I wish the cash register drawer featured a more secure locking mechanism.
Overall, the Casio SE-S700 has proven to be a reliable and efficient cash register for my small business, saving me time and preventing any hassles when it comes to handling transactions.

🔗Refurbished Sharp XE-A106 Sleek Microban Cash Register

I recently got my hands on the Sharp XE-A106 Cash Register and boy, am I impressed! This refurbished gem has been a game-changer in managing sales at my small business.
The first thing that caught my eye was the Microban antimicrobial keys. It's not just about style; it's about hygiene too! The large LED screen is another feature that I absolutely adore. With one line for eight digits, it's so easy to keep track of prices and sales.
The drum printing on standard 2-1/4" plain paper roll is fast and quiet, making it perfect for my retail store. Plus, with functions like eight preprogrammed departments, 80 price lookups, four clerk numbers, auto-tax system, and flash reporting, managing sales has never been easier.
But wait, there's more! The locking cash drawer with four-slot bill compartments, five-slot removable coin tray, and a media slot for quick deposit of checks and bills is just brilliant. Not to forget the easy programming that took me under an hour to set up.
However, nothing's perfect. The one downside I noticed was the slow printing speed. Also, you can't turn off the receipt printer for a "no sale" option.
All in all, the Sharp XE-A106 Cash Register is a reliable workhorse for any small business. Despite the few drawbacks, it's worth every penny. If you're in the market for a cash register, this should definitely be on your list!

I recently purchased the Royal 6000ML Cash Register for my small grocery store, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer. This compact cash register has truly helped streamline our operations, making it easier than ever to manage sales and generate accurate reports.
One of my favorite features is the 36 Department categorization, which has allowed me to analyze sales data in a more detailed manner. The alphanumeric thermal printer, along with the front display and rear LED display, ensures that I can keep track of transactions with ease.
However, there have been some cons as well. The initial setup was a bit challenging due to the lack of clarity in the instruction manual. Some users have also reported issues with the power cord connecting properly to the register.

2024.05.19 11:50 Rare-Wrangler-5219 Auto careers as a woman?

I (27f) have been toying with the idea of pursuing a career to do with cars- what context I am a little unsure on.
My (much older) cousins have classic cars (Chevelle/Camaro/Corvette) and I have a '91 Chevrolet 1500 I've been "restoring" just under my own steam, but they have been going over basics and how to fix things with me and I do have a genuine interest to know more.
I love cars, I grew up on top gear, visiting the National Motor museum, and dreaming about being in F1 (lol) before my Mom showed me footage of Niki Laudas crash and warned me off it.
Now I'm older and I'm back in the states I guess I am curious what people who work in the industry would recommend to someone female? I admit I do worry about the upper body strength aspect of it with auto mechanics though I'm sure you get used to it... I am game for anything?
Any advice?

2024.05.19 11:47 cuBLea "Dark" MR: Memory Reconsolidation for Fun, Profit, and Psychosocial Manipulation (partial essay)

NOTE: I drafted this before reddit slashed its allowable post size and decided it was unpublishable at that point. A friend strongly recommended I post whatever reddit will allow and if people wanted to see more, I could post more of it. So here's the first segment of it.
Therapeutic memory reconsolidation has a dark side. It's not something typically discussed outside of the coffee rooms of the lab-rat and clinical-practices sets, where the tedium of the current work occasionally gives rise to darkly humorous dystopian speculations.
This dark side is not simply the stuff of mad-science speculation and dark fantasy. In fact, its existence predates even the discovery of the MR process itself. And it has already resulted in mild-to-catastrophic negative consequences for hundreds of thousands of people. (Depending on your perspective, it's conceivable that the current victim count could be in the tens or even hundreds of millions ... we're notorious for undercounting casualties of previously-unrecognized catastrophes. Fair disclosure: I'm one of those casualties.) It's an aspect of MR that I believe is worth knowing about for anyone seeking to exploit MR in therapy either as a practitioner or as a client.
For almost as long as the transformation (i.e. MR) phenomenon has been recognized, there have been tales of sordid applications of this effect. Religious sects, particularly the charismatic ones, have been exploiting the MR phenomenon for thousands of years, typically labeling it as either divine healing or proof of faith. Not that the results aren't beneficial for the individual. In most cases they are. But reconsolidation is only a part of the whole process of restoring health to old psychic wounds. The inducement of therapeutic MR in an individual not ready for the experience can be among the most brutal tortures imaginable, but most of the harm that comes from misapplication of the MR phenomenon can be traced to opportunistic exploitation of the setup for, and aftermath of, the transformational experience, and it's my belief that most of this harm is done by individuals and/or groups with little or no sense of the risks involved in
Keith Raniere's NXIVM organization is probably the most widely-known example of a cult founded largely on a MR-consistent methodology bent to less-than-humane ends. It made national news for years in Canada based on allegations of financial wrongdoing and sexual scandals, its leader was indicted in the US in 2018 and was sentenced to 120 years, and in 2020, not one but *two* major exposé miniseries/docuseries aired on streaming services.
"The Vow" (Mark Vicente's story)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vow_(TV_series))
Vicente's series orients around his involvement in the growth and promotion of NXIVM, and isn't afraid to get into the weeds around how Raniere strategized and developed the organization's techniques and tactics.
"Seduced: Inside the NXIVM Cult" (India Oxenberg's story)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seduced:_Inside_the_NXIVM_Cult
This series centers more around IO's personal journey with the cult, and the people who were caught up in its darkest aspects.
"The Vow", first to be released, was not a fun watch for me. Thirty years prior to this, I had been ensnared by another cult, closely affiliated with the Unity Church of Today in Warren, MI at that time. Both of these cults exploited phenomena surrounding therapeutic memory consolidation as their primary lures years before we even knew that MR had a scientific footing.
The two organizations had shockingly similar modi operandi. So similar, in fact, that I still suspect that NXIVM's founder might have gotten much of his basic training from CoT's Pavillon resort in Quebec, whose month-long "therapeutic retreat" programs were a clever and completely unabashed cult indoctrination program. Ok ... well ... nearly completely unabashed ... during the month that I attended, we were only told that we were being groomed for the cult on the third-to-last day, by which time they surely knew who was ripe for the picking and who wouldn't be swayed, and were pretty confident of no open objection to such an announcement.
I want to make clear that this is not a word of exaggeration. The head of the "clinic" literally told us that if it felt to any of us like we were being recruited for a cult, he assured us that yes, we were. Nobody gasped, nobody even giggled. And as if to prove that this wasn't just dark humor, the director assured us that it was all fair play on their part since his was "the only cult that matters". That is exactly how confident Pavillon were of their methods. (Or at least they were in mid-1989 ... Pavillon appears to have vanished in the mists of history. Not every great cult idea grows up to make it to the big leagues.)
Neither "Seduced" or "The Vow" actually get under the hood and explain the psychology underlying the cult's success, let alone in context of therapeutic memory reconsolidation. In fact, I'm pretty sure that MR was never mentioned in either series. But right from the introductory/demo sessions presented in the first episode of "The Vow", most readers of this sub will instantly recognize that NXIVM leveraged the benefits and relative simplicity of MR-consistent transformational therapies to capture the attention, loyalty, and ultimately the wealth of prospective cult members.
But that's not nearly enough to lead us to a real understanding of how this happens. If either of these series' had been able to achieve that, this post could effctively end here. It's my belief that those of us who are consumers of MR-consistent services, or who work with consumers, do need this understanding. When the mechanics of the seduction are understood, it doesn't just help us to identify how malignant influences were brought to bear on potential victims, or provide us with a degree of immunity from those influences. It can also help us to better identify and relate to individuals who may be particularly vulnerable to these influences, and not just in therapy cults, but in all cult-like cultural groups, and get a better sense of how we can best communicate with people living under less-than-virtuous influence.
Fortunately, it doesn't appear to be all that difficult to acquire this understanding. Simply knowing basic MR theory and therapeutic application takes you halfway to mastery in a world still largely ignorant of how transformative change works. And the successes of Pavillon and NXIVM, coming as they did well before the general public even knew that MR was a "thing", pretty much proves it. But solving the remainder of the problem appears to involve first understanding how the application of MR-consistent methods could lead to cult exploitation in the first place.
MR-consistent transformational phenomena were relatively common knowledge back as far as the early 1980s in new-age/psychotherapy circles, and were even well-understood by certain inner-circle dwellers. And it was clear at least a decade earlier that certain disciplines practiced in a certain way were capable of producing remarkable therapeutic effects, even if no one could quite explain how or why. All Raniere and Pavillon needed to do was to refine techniques already known to be highly effective and they could reproduce those results. Which is exactly what happened, and this gave these two groups a powerful enticement, or a free sample product if you prefer, for people interested in living better, happier lives. Whatever else they did that we would likely view as objectionable or even evil, they both figured out how to get people to transformational moments in ways which were a lot easier than Erhard Seminars Training (EST), more efficient than religious or mystical practices (Transcendental Meditation, kundalini yoga, visionquesting, etc.), and less exclusive/expensive than a stay at Esalen or a year or two of the "talking cure".
So whatever we may think/feel about their methods, credit where due: they knew a good thing when they saw it and they got the transformational part right. So how did techniques which we rely upon to free us from exploitation by our own nervous systems become tools for THEIR exploitation? On the surface it seems like using MR to coerce and enslave people makes about as silly as trying to poison someone with multivitamins. But there's a clever logic to it, and to understand this we need to look beyond the bounds of MR and the transformational phenomenon, and at how the entire transformation process is managed. (And there's the operative word: managed, not facilitated.
We know MR as the process that underlies transformation. But transformation isn't healing, but only a subprocess within a greater restoration process. Healing doesn't usually even end the process, either. Following transformation, stress must be managed until the subject's next full sleep cycle or treatment efficacy is substantially impaired. Even beyond that, the structure of post-traumatic adaptation leaves the individual vulnerable to retraumatization in the wake of treatment, meaning that in perhaps a majority of cases, the triggers which activate PTS symptoms need to be kept to a

2024.05.19 10:46 bleak-avocado (Opinion) Pelican damage *feels* like a bug

For the first 50 levels or so, I'd occasionally hit a "bug" where Pelican-1 either was totally busted, or would take off with only a single player. My friends all thought the same, and groups I was in with strangers would complain about "pelican bug again :(" in chat.
I recently saw a couple of posts about it being intentional - if pelican takes too much damage, it only takes a single player at the end.
Mind blown.
But specifically, mind blown because there was nothing in-game to hint that pelican damage was a mechanic. Yeah, there's the fire, but... everything in Helldivers is on fire a lot of the time. There's no voice line talking about damage, there's no indicator of pelican health in the HUD.
And I don't feel it's just me being dumb; barely anyone in game seems to know about the mechanic, making it impossible to work together to get samples onto a single player before takeoff.
Heck, there doesn't seem to be consistency in how much damage it takes. I've seen Pelican take a 500kg to the dome without flinching. I think the only thing I've seen that I can be sure damaged it was a bike titan landing on it.
So, my point: Pelican-1 should either be immune to damage, or there should be a better way to indicate it's damage before you find out by a player jumping in.
Thoughts?

2024.05.19 09:51 Alioliou Thaumical precious metal alloys in my world

Thaumical precious metal alloys in my world
My world of fantastic science fiction is based on the real world, but with the addition of magic and thaumaturgy as an additional powerful branch of arts and techniques.
The historical course of my world is similar to the historical course of the real world, but there are sciences derived from magic. Runic engineering studies the interaction of glyphic circuits and geometric shapes imbued with magic with reality. Thaumaturgy and the science of aspects study the converging aspects of matter and its manipulation to obtain new materials and artifacts without classical chemical formulas. Arcanology studies the functioning and principles of so-called spells, incantations, and enchantments. Etcetera.
Science predominates overall, and while it has taken some time, it has swallowed magic, at least partially. There are still many things unknown about the functioning of magic. There are many things that work and have been obtained through trial and error, but whose intrinsic mechanisms are unknown. There are hypotheses derived from quantum physics, of course, but unconfirmed, or impossible to confirm.
But that's not the point.
In my world, just like in the real world, metallurgy has played a very important role. Without metallurgy, we wouldn't have weapons, machines, computing, electricity... we wouldn't have many things. Without metallurgy, they wouldn't have them either, and they wouldn't have thaumaturgy or many enchanted objects they employ.
Within the vast domain of thaumic metallurgy, the most prominent metals are undoubtedly the precious metals: copper, silver, and gold. Throughout the history of my world, these three metals have held an undisputed position of relevance in thaumaturgy. While iron and mercury have also been employed in thaumaturgic practice (the Thaumonomicon, one of the oldest works on thaumaturgy known, mentions thaumium and alchemical brass, two magical metals derived from iron), copper, silver, and gold have demonstrated unparalleled enchantability and magical versatility.
These precious metals have not only been used in the creation of magical objects throughout history but have also been the subject of numerous alchemical experiments in transmutation and aspectual manipulation, although most of these attempts have been largely unsuccessful and have sometimes led to unintended consequences.
In recent times, there has been a growing interest in the use of other precious metals such as platinum, rhodium, and osmium in thaumaturgy. However, this interest is still in its nascent and limited stage compared to the study and practice related to copper, silver, and gold. Thaumaturgy related to these less conventional metals is still to be fully developed, and their magical potential is far from fully understood.

The three main precious metals of interest

Copper has been a frontline choice in creating alloys that function as conductors and catalysts of magic throughout the ages, thanks to its impressive capacity to be enchanted. Furthermore, it stands out for its resistance to aspectual essences and its ability to act as an effective aspectual insulator. Even in ancient times, bronze armor decorated with primitive runes and magical glyphs not only rivaled but surpassed the resilience and tenacity of the finest steel armor of the later medieval period.
Today, this metal remains relevant in the creation of alloys such as molybdocopper, orichalcum, hepatizon, and manganin, which are used in the manufacturing of special munitions. These bullets, engraved with specific enchantments, acquire attributes and particular effects that make them highly effective in a wide variety of situations. The versatility of copper as a magical material makes it a valuable and sought-after option for practitioners of magic and thaumaturgy worldwide.
Silver, on the other hand, also stands out for its capacity to store magic. It has been employed in various ways in the realm of thaumaturgy and magic. One of its most prominent applications is its use in coating weapons and armor made of steel. Silver can be fused with this material to enhance the enchantments present in the weapons and armor, or even to directly manufacture weapons and armor imbued with its own magical properties.
Furthermore, silver has traditionally been associated with protection against supernatural entities and has been used to create a wide variety of protective amulets and talismans. Its teratocidal properties make it an essential component in the manufacturing of specialized weapons and ammunition designed for the hunting and elimination of creatures such as therianthropes, demons, and other supernatural beings. The famous silver bullets are an iconic example of this type of ammunition, known for their effectiveness in confrontations against beings of malign or magical nature. Silver, with its versatility and magical power, has earned a prominent place in the arsenal of magic practitioners and thaumaturges worldwide.
Gold, on the other hand, stands out as one of the most suitable metals for enchantment and magic absorption. Despite these qualities, its use in thaumaturgy has been limited due to its scarcity, high value, and the difficulty in stabilizing its magical properties. Creating enchanted objects from gold requires highly advanced and stabilized infusion altars, or the use of very specific alloys that can enhance its magical manipulation.
Despite these limitations, various gold alloys have sparked special interest among thaumaturges and alchemists worldwide. Below, we will detail some of these alloys, exploring their unique characteristics and potential applications in the field of magic and thaumaturgy.
Copper, silver and gold...

Tychereal gold

Tychereal gold encompasses a set of gold alloys that possess the unique property of influencing the luck of the bearer. This capability is achieved through the infusion of the "probabilitas" aspect into the alloys or through the inscription of specific enchantments. However, it is important to note that the effect on the bearer's luck is subtle.
In certain regions of Central, Southern, and Eastern Asia, red gold alloys, which contain a high copper content, are employed for this purpose because culturally, the color red is believed to bring good luck in these areas. These alloys, when enchanted or infused with "probabilitas," appear to have a greater impact on the bearer's luck, although their effect is temporary and tends to fade over time. Additionally, these alloys are prone to mild oxidation and corrosion, leading to the loss of their desired tychereal property.
However, the most effective tychereal alloy is known as "leprechaun gold," invented in Ireland during the Middle Ages. Leprechaun gold is a lime-green-toned alloy, primarily composed of gold with additions of silver and tin, along with traces of cadmium, and with high amounts of "probabilitas" aspect. Although scientific trials have shown that this alloy has a significant and generally positive impact on the bearer's luck, it presents a serious contraindication: cadmium, a heavy metal known to be toxic and carcinogenic.

Royal thaumium

Royal thaumium, a distinguished and valuable alloy, differs from common thaumium, ancient thaumium or, simply, thaumium (an amalgam of wrought iron impregnated with praecantatio). This exceptional compound is a combination of gold and aluminum impregnated with praecantatio.
By fusing gold with aluminum in an approximate mass ratio of 79:21, purple gold is obtained, a brittle intermetallic compound with an intense magenta color. When this purple gold is impregnated with large amounts of praecantatio, it becomes royal thaumium.
The term "royal" in its name is attributed to its high production cost and its original association with royalty and divinity. Although it shares similarities in appearance and qualities with thaumium based on iron, the properties of royal thaumium are even more pronounced. It can store approximately 53 times more magic than iron-based thaumium, acts as an extremely impermeable aspectual insulator to essences, and possesses a tremendous enchanting capacity. However, it is important to note that royal thaumium is extremely fragile compared to its iron-based counterpart.
Royal thaumium was initially discovered and crafted by alchemists in the late 18th century when the first samples of aluminum were successfully extracted, which at that time were considerably more expensive than gold due to the difficulty of obtaining it. During the early to mid-19th century, this alloy was widely used in the manufacturing of cores for high-power magic wands. Although it has been replaced by more economical thaumic materials today, royal thaumium is still appreciated in certain classic magic circles, acquired by purists and collectors of magical objects.

Aurallium

Within the realm of modern metallurgy, quasicrystals have emerged as structural forms that, unlike conventional crystals, are ordered but not periodic. Most quasicrystals discovered to date are metallic and exhibit symmetries that defy traditional crystalline conventions, such as decagonal and icosahedral shapes.
These quasicrystals are particularly intriguing in the field of thaumaturgy due to their ability to harbor large densities of a degenerate form of the "ordor" aspect, known as "auratio."
Among the most relevant quasicrystals in thaumaturgy are dodecaedrites, quasicrystalline alloys generally composed of aluminum or rare earth metals, infused with huge amounts of praecantatio. These dodecaedrites have the capacity to store massive amounts of magic, surpassing conventional thaumic alloys by thousands of times, making them ideal for the manufacturing of high-powered magical objects and disruptive antimagic munitions.
The term "aurallium" refers to a group of dodecaedrite-based alloys of gold quasicrystals, such as the gold-gallium-terbium alloy AC and other alloys M,X)85.7RE14.3 (M = Ag, Au, X = Al, Ga, In, RE = Er, Lu). However, the most notable of these alloys is "pure aurallium," composed of pure gold impregnated with large amounts of "auratio" aspect essence. This material forms dodecahedral, icosahedral, and tricontahedral crystals of a pale orangish-golden hue with celestial blue highlights.
Pure aurallium is metastable, meaning its quasicrystalline structure can collapse under certain extreme conditions to form amorphous gold, releasing energy and magic in the process. Additionally, this alloy has the ability to induce ordering and crystallization of surrounding materials when magic is applied to it, which could be utilized for various purposes, such as manufacturing enhaced wand cores for specific spells, or negentropic weapons like the "ordor ray."
Aurallium icosahedral quasicrystal.
Nuclear tests conducted by North Korea using this material, whose documentation has been obtained and released by the espionage forces of Acheron (an organization tasked with containing and eliminating supernatural threats), yield terrifying results. Atomic weapons doped with big amounts of aurallium generates negentropic fields that destroy all organic tissue within a radius several times larger than the blast radius and the lethal neutron radius. Animal and plant tissues liquefy and reorganize into perfectly ordered crystals of amino acids, phosphates, and carbohydrates imbued with high-purity aspect essences that may continue reacting dangerously with the environment, potentially producing flux, taint seeds and void gaps. All exposed rock and metal recrystallize into large amalgams of pure single crystals of various pure materials, forming ordered giant minimalist structures. And exposed water is aetheralized into pure aqua aspect that permeates and destructively alters any exposed material.
Surprisingly, despite the high thaumaturgy and technology involved in the production of pure aurallium and aurallium alloys, traces of aurallium have been found in well-preserved ancient legendary artifacts of high power, although the origin of such traces of aurallium is likely accidental or non-conciouss, this explains some of the astonishing qualities of these arcane artifacts.

2024.05.19 07:50 Emergency_Wrangler20 Did I do an Oopsie?

So let’s say hypothetically someone were to take out a 2010 Corolla S with a 2ZR-FE, 4 speed auto and 105k miles, for a “joy ride” through some winding roads. This person would allegedly drive rather harsh hitting higher rpm’s throughout the ride and speeding through corners hitting a top speed of maybe 70mph. Let’s also say this car has had constant oil changes and was up to temp during the 30 minute run. Would this vehicle experience any serious mechanical abuse throughout those 30 minute, or would this individual be overthinking this situation. Let’s also say that the car is overall driven with care and this was the first of times that this occurred, allegedly of course.
Thanks!

2024.05.19 07:38 SniperSly Attack speed buff questions

So as I'm going through I'm trying to level all weapon proficiencies and I vaguely remember from what I learned back on the vita version that buffing attack speed and extra auto attacks is the way to go but there's something odd about the attack speed buffs sometimes it works like it should and I'm zooming through the animation at light speed but other times he just does it at a normal speed and I have no idea what is causing the differences so basically is this just some sort of glitch or a mechanic I'm screwing up and if it is a glitch is it possible to fix

2024.05.19 07:09 Room-Mission What's up with the current Mythic players?

Welcome to Mythic.
Here we got lots of trolls, why they trolling? F do I know, already gave them their roles, heroes and won the early game too. Yet they still troll.
We even got an egoist that doesn't want to adjust, making an unbalance composition and sometime(mostly) multiple roles.
We've got 1 trick pony, 1 hero all role. They got titles too, but they played their heroes as if they've just bought them.
The players map awareness is also lacking, their decision making sux ass 1v5, dies and repeat the process right after respawning.
Bad draft, letting go of a real threat just to ban Yin. Because they lack appropriate skills for Mythic. Pick whatever they want.
Doesn't know item function, Trinity for all heroes, WON against full set of magic and doesn't want to buy counter items.
Losing their lane? Just force switch without people consent, if they lose again switch again not even 5 minutes have pass by.
Not only do their macro suxx their micro suxx too, yet they like to play high mechanical heroes. Despite missing all of their skill shot even when they're aiming like a turtle.
Practicing in rank, as if playing in classic or even better 'training mode' isn't enough they have to play in rank. Because they thought META=Auto Win. Yes it'll definitely make winning easier, but if you can't use them what for?
Also you have to worry about your teammates cleaning up the jungle areas too, not even a minute into the game people already trying to steal your jungle.
Playing roamer, most of the MM is too pamper. Left them a bit for turtle comp, they cried losing 1v1 against their opponent. Opened the map for jungle to take turtle/lord loses a 4v1 retri. Then I got blamed because I miss walked, tryong to find the enemy jungler. Yet that's no excuse to lose a 4v1 retri bruhhhhh.

I had the chance to try out the Granite Tool Design Scope Computer Mount, specifically made for Specialized SWAT Black bikes. When I first received it, I was intrigued by how lightweight this mount was, weighing just 15g. It certainly didn't slow me down during my rides.
One of the unique features of this mount is that it's easy to install at home without needing any specialist tools. Plus, it didn't interfere with the SWAT system, which is a definite plus! However, one downside I noticed was the compatibility - it's only made for Specialized bikes with the SWAT concealed transport tool kit.
Overall, the Granite Tool Design Scope Computer Mount is a good choice for those looking for a lightweight, easy-to-install mount for their computer on their Specialized bike. If you don't fit the compatibility criteria, it might not be worth it for you.

This anodized finish, flat dark earth unit fits snugly on my beloved Aimpoint ARCO 100-230. The versatility it brings to the table makes my aim more precise and stable.
One of the best aspects is the offset positioning of the mount that allows for increased accuracy and ease of use. This product surely adds value to the gear arsenal of Remington 870 users, helping them make swift and precise shots.
It's not all ups though. The slightly higher price point can be a deterrent for some, but in my experience, the high quality and durability it provides justifies the investment. It's a reliable, solid piece of equipment that elevates the shooting experience in a unique way.

As a devoted stargazer, I found myself in need of an efficient and reliable finder scope to enhance my telescope experience. Upon trying out the Explore Scientific T-Shaped Finder Scope Base, which I affectionately refer to as the Essential Finder Base, I was truly impressed by its performance.
First and foremost, the base is incredibly user-friendly. The easy-to-install design allowed me to swiftly mount the finder scope to my telescope without any hassle. The sturdy construction ensures a secure connection, providing peace of mind during my celestial adventures.
One highlight that truly stands out is the compact size. With its dimensions of 50mm in length and 51mm in width, this base seamlessly fits a variety of telescope configurations. The lightweight nature, weighing just 1.29 oz, adds to its convenience.
While the base performed brilliantly in most aspects, I did notice a slight inconvenience. The screws provided were decent, but I found myself wishing for a more robust solution to prevent any potential slippage.
Overall, the Explore Scientific T-Shaped Finder Scope Base has been a valuable addition to my telescope setup, proving to be both functional and convenient. Despite the minor drawback, I wholeheartedly recommend this sturdy finder base to fellow enthusiasts seeking to enhance their stargazing experience.

As a stargazing enthusiast, I recently tried the Explore Scientific Finder Scope Base and was astounded by how convenient and reliable it was. It's the perfect addition to any telescope, providing a stable base for mounting the finder scope of your choice.
The highlight of this product, for me, was the ease of installation. It literally took me a few minutes to set it up, thanks to the provided mounting screws. The knurled knobs on the base really make locking the finder into place a breeze.
However, it's not all smooth sailing. One inconvenience was the lack of lock washers in the box which, although not a deal-breaker, would have been a nice addition for added security.
Overall, the Explore Scientific Finder Scope Base was a pleasant surprise in terms of functionality and ease. Despite a minor hiccup, it's a winner in my book for those who enjoy stargazing and want their equipment to be secure and robust.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Reptilia Aus Mount, a 34mm scope mount with a Flat Dark Earth finish. Using the Reptilia Aus Mount in my daily life has been a breeze. The sleek design fits seamlessly with my Mini 14 setup, and the secure locking mechanism ensures that the scope stays firmly in place. One thing that stood out to me was the anodized finish, which not only looks great but also provides protection against the elements.
However, there were a couple of minor drawbacks. Firstly, the installation process could have been a bit easier, especially for beginners. And secondly, the price point might be a bit steep for some users.
All in all, if you're looking for a high-quality scope mount with a stylish finish and great durability, the Reptilia Aus Mount is definitely worth considering. Just make sure you're comfortable with the installation process and are willing to invest in a top-tier product.

I've had the pleasure of trying out the Reptilia AUS Mount for my 30mm diameter magnified optics, and I must say, it's an impressive piece of equipment. This 35mm Mount, with an anodized finish and compatibility with all of Reptilia's 30mm ROF line, has added a touch of elegance to my optical setup.
I was particularly drawn to its custom bolt mounting system, which can be tightened using either a 5/32 hex or a flat blade driver. This feature allows the AUS Mount to sit snugly on the M1913 Picatinny rail, giving it a streamlined low-profile design.
One aspect of the AUS Mount that I found truly remarkable was its machining from a single piece of billet 7075-T6 aluminum, combined with the MIL-STD Type III, Class 2, hard anodize coating. Not only does it make for a high-quality material but also adds durability to the product.
However, one thing I noticed was that the AUS Mount was slightly trickier to install and remove from the M1913 Picatinny rail than I initially expected. But overall, the Reptilia AUS Mount's adjustable features and robust construction definitely make it worth considering for anyone looking to enhance their optical setup.

The mount offers a smooth and seamless experience thanks to its precision stepper motors and micro-step motion control system. Plus, the built-in bearings and high-precision worm gears simply add to the quality of this product.
However, I did notice a couple of drawbacks. The weight of the counterweights might be a bit disappointing for some, and I'd have liked to see a full cable included instead of an auto lighter one. All in all, it's a solid choice for stargazers and astrophotographers seeking accurate and reliable tracking.

After trying out Unity Tactical's FAST Offset Base FDE, I quickly found myself appreciating the versatility it offered. The offset design allowed me to keep my focus on target acquisition without obstructing my view, something I sorely needed in my day-to-day hunting.
What really stood out to me was the compatibility with UNITY's LPVO mounts. It made adjusting my scope a breeze and allowed me to fine-tune my shot more easily. However, I did notice that it required UNITY-specific optic plates, which added a layer of confusion and potential compatibility issues.
Despite its minor drawbacks, the UNITY FAST Offset Base FDE proved to be a reliable and effective accessory in my arsenal. It allowed me to focus on the task at hand, all while maintaining a comfortable grip on my weapon for faster and more accurate shots.

As an astrophotography enthusiast, I had the opportunity to use the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer GTi Mount Kit in my daily life. Right out of the box, I was impressed by its sleek and sturdy construction. The built-in illuminated polar scope made aligning the mount a breeze, while the dual position counterweight allowed me to handle low latitudes with ease.
One of the standout features for me was the smartphone Wi-Fi control, which let me have full command over the device using my smartphone. However, I did encounter some minor software glitches, which required a bit of troubleshooting.
The device's versatility in tracking rates caught my attention, particularly the lunar, solar, and sidereal options. This made capturing the night sky's wonders a truly effortless experience. The 11-pound payload capacity also proved to be more than sufficient for my various equipment setups.
However, there were a few areas where the Star Adventurer GTi fell short. The mount's intermittent disconnecting, whether using Wi-Fi or USB, introduced some frustration. Additionally, the Dec tracking was far from ideal, which I had to address by tweaking polar alignment and dialing in PHD2 parameters.
Despite these minor issues, I had a mostly positive experience with the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer GTi Mount Kit. Its combination of features, ease of use, and reasonable price make it an impressive choice for those looking to dive into deep space, widefield, and nightscape astrophotography.

2024.05.19 06:38 AdInteresting2401 Dying to be ill - How people make it hard for actual sufferers to be taken serious, hard to find any authentic and not misleading information, brain washing people into self diagnoses

"Could the mods please do something about all the posts promoting treatments/causes that haven’t been backed by science? Colloidal silver, untested alternative medicine, anti-vax theories, etc. presented as unequivocally true.
This is supposed to be a science-based sub. Spreading more blatant pseudoscience only gives more fodder to the people who don’t believe MCAS exists."
People that spread the internet without an official diagnosis or any prove of an mast cell involvement, antihistamines are used for multiple diseases. There have been people that think they have MCAS because Cromolyn helped their asthma, H1 medication helped their urticaria, or H2 helped their heartburn. These medications are all widely used and are rather "off label" used for MCAS. That is why all 3 criteria need to be present.
Websites present various doctors that claim to be "specialists" and who give out diagnoses to anyone based of unspecific symptoms, reportedly these do not even make tests at all. Or use unvalidated biomarkers or questionable diagnostic criteria. Cash is payed upfront.
People who actually have a serious and rare disease named MCAS, struggle to be taken seriously, because many doctors are fed up by the sheer amount of psychic conspicuous patients, who only want a proof for their google based self diagnoses. Often times there is no proof and these people make a burden for health care resources.
Mast cell medication is free and if you have no relief at all with antihistamines, MCAS is very unlikely. There is not much any further medication that someone would get, if not presented with serious reactions, most of the times anaphylaxis. Ketotifen and cromolyn are also mainly antihistamines, still many gaslight themselfs thinking that that is the medication they need.
Primary and secondary MCAS are easy to rule out, due to specific and severe symptoms and quite obvious underlying mechanism like an IgE dependant allergy or the genetic mutation. The diagnosis that is under question is the idiopathic MCAS, where the underlying mechanism is unknown, these people still need to fullfill the diagnostic markers, but in reality this happens only rarely.
Still many think they have a secondary MCAS, it is said by certain authors that a secondary MCAS would have a prevalance of 17-30 per cent. They say that long covid and/or T-Cells are the problem. That this would be quite easy to proof if it would be happening they do not care about. That this has already been evaluated they do not care about. The desperate patients are easy to convince it seems.
Some people even make claim their MCAS would be due to a root cause of "Sibo", "Leaky gut" or "microbiome disbalance", all which are unrelated to a MCAS and heavenly overdiagnosed or not even proven to excist, just like the whole hEDS and POTS misdiagnoses going on. Mast cells in the gut have been studied and people with IBS have had no success with mast cell treatment.
It is also a burden for patients, knowing that even some doctors do not stick to authentic measures and give out misinformation. Maybe because of a conflict of interest? Since most internet posts that come up include misinformation, it is hard for sufferers to find alike. MCAS communities are full of people who do not have MCAS. MCAS sufferers have no community right now.
.
"My blood and 24hr urine collection testing came back normal. The allergist I saw also told me outright he doubted I had MCAS (a fad diagnosis along with EDS and POTS, as he said) but did end up suggesting I come back to get samples tested during an episode. I was so frustrated with the allergist that I’ve never gone through with that. Instead my amazing primary doctor decided to prescribe me montelukast and monitor my reaction to trialing antihistamines at home, and I had immediate positive response! We also first ruled out everything else he could think of and clearly test for; my main symptom is facial flushing so I had things like lupus and carcinoid syndrome ruled out.
Although we treat it as such, I don’t actually have an “official” MCAS diagnosis on my chart. IME the specialists who do inquire about all my meds or listen to my symptoms don’t seem to differentiate between MCAS and allergies/sensitivities anyway :/ but my case isn’t super severe and currently well-controlled so that works for me. Good luck to you - I hope you find proper care regardless of your test results!"
.
"I have normal tryptase levels and definitely have MCAS. They diagnosed it after POTS, and it was mostly based on symptoms as well as the “scratch test”"
.
"Spoke about it with my GP, she referred me to an internal medicine doc who specializes in MCAS. I told him my symptoms and he went “yep that sounds like MCAS” and proceeded to literally dump an armful of antihistamine samples into my lap and bounce off to his next appointment. I am definitely in the minority of people whose experience was that easy. It was so easy that I almost don’t believe him."
.
"This is the same as my experience! Walked in, diagnosed by rheumatologist in 5 mins based off symptoms and loaded up with antihistamines as a starting point. No testing or anything."
.
"went to my allergist and had the blood work panel done. nothing in it came back weird, but my allergist is treating me as if i have MCAS based on all my symptoms and pictures of flares."
.
"Went in to get my pots diagnosis and the doctor was like “btw your blood tests show you have mast cell activation syndrome” and then gave me some medicine and did not elaborate further"
"As it turned out my diagnosis was literally not true. I don’t have MCAS (and even if i did what they gave me for it was beyond overkill) after talking to an actual allergist I believe that most likely I was given an extra diagnosis on extremely weak basis. Using something from what they saw in my blood so they could bill higher and prescribe more medicine to me. I no longer go to that practice and instead go to a different cardiologist and actively do not recommend going there. Unfortunately this stopped me for years from properly treating my pain as I was trying to treat it on the basis it was being caused by MCAS :/"
.
"Mine was actually fairly easy when I finally figured out it was MCAS.
Got referred to immunology to rule out mastocytosis. Then my PCP at the time did a clinical diagnosis. She wasn’t risking putting me into anaphylaxis to maybe get a positive result on any of the mast cell mediator labs (this doctor was one who didn’t list a diagnosis unless she was confident it isn’t anything else and spent 8 years trying to get an answer).
My current doctors don’t question it because my symptoms at this point line up perfectly with MCAS."

2024.05.19 06:10 bye2_lilsebastian How would you feel if you received a "graphical" bidding resume? Obviously no photos or over the top colors/fonts etc

I've seen fascinating bidding resumes from colleagues who obviously ensure the content is priority but are also clearly talented design-wise, and I found them refreshing and pleasantly surprising amid a stack of static, cookie-cutter resumes. Regardless of the cone/speciality, how would you feel if you received a "graphical" bidding resume?

What Say Your MP?

Hi all! https://whatsayyourmp.github.io/ is a fun little community-led web app that lets you see the count of parliament debates participated by each MP. While it does not track the quality of their inputs, one can always do a deeper analysis by searching further on the Hansards website. Feel free to try it :) If you're interested, the rest of this post interprets the results shown in the screenshot.
A cursory look shows that Louis Ng participates in more question-and-answer sessions than Jamus Lim. One possible explanation might be due to the type of questions each of them raise.
The below excerpts taken directly by searching on the Hansards show a glimpse of what are the questions that Louis Ng raises:
  1. In Support For Employers and Employees Affected By Requirement For Companies To Fairly Consider Flexi-Work Requests: "...with regard to the new Tripartite Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangement Requests coming into effect, whether the Ministry has considered mandating a shorter timeframe for employers to communicate their decision on a request for flexible work arrangements instead of the two months' timeframe."
  2. In Study into Ban on Electric Collars for Animal Training: "...the Minister for National Development (a) whether the Ministry will provide an update on the study into a ban on electric collars for animal training; and (b) whether the Ministry will study the enforcement mechanisms for the Guidelines for Rehoming and Adoption of Dogs developed by the Rehoming and Adoption Workgroup."
  3. In Review of Minimum Annual Leave Entitlement of Seven Days under Employment Act: "...asked the Minister for Manpower (a) when will the Ministry review the minimum annual leave entitlement of seven days provided for eligible workers under the Employment Act 1968; and (b) what factors will the Ministry consider in determining whether the minimum number of annual leave days should be increased."
As someone who occasionally catches news about local politics, I feel this supports my gut feeling that he raises many questions on improving animal w(understandably since he was head of Acres and all) and for young parents.
On the other hand, below are the excerpts for Jamus Lim:
  1. In Sufficiency of Fines to Deter Officers in Manpower Ministry's Agencies from Carrying Out Unsafe Activities: "I thank the Senior Minister of State's first response. I wish to elaborate a little bit on a specific case that I believe he is familiar with about a former investigation officer who was charged with molestation against three women while conducting investigation on behalf of the Health Sciences Authority. The point I wish to raise about this, was that, that individual who was charged the year before, worked for WSH Experts which is an outsourced agency. I mentioned this because all individuals, whether contractors or agents directly employed by the Government are subject to the stipulations of the law, but nevertheless, when this form of law enforcement is outsourced, one wonders, whether these external contractors are put under the same rigours of clearance before employment, because they are after all, carrying out an official duty."
  2. In Treatment of Offences by Vape Users who Have Participated in I Quit Programme: "...asked the Minister for Health for vape users who participate in the I Quit programme (a) whether these participants have been offered immunity from criminal prosecution; (b) how many have benefited from this programme to date; and (c) what happens if the users are subsequently caught using vapes again."
  3. In Singapore's Longer-term Inflation Expectations: "Just a quick follow-up on the question about inflation expectations. I wonder if the Minister of State can elaborate on whether MAS has observed any evidence of inflation pressures actually passing through to wages, in particular? And if so, what kind of mitigation mechanisms does the MAS have in terms of dealing with the possibility that this could become more entrenched?"
At least from these randomly picked samples, I don't see a trend of common topics that Jamus Lim raises. Without it, I imagine more reading and proper research in multiple areas is required to ask more questions without adding noise.

2024.05.19 05:55 farcaller899 Who knows how job applications are rejected over the weekend?

Several times I have used the LinkedIn EasyApply, and this happens pretty often. Recently on Friday evening, and I got a rejection 'We won't be going with you..." type email early Sunday morning.
I guarantee no hiring manager or even HR person was reviewing applications in the less than one business day, over the weekend, that it took for me to get the rejection email.
So what's going on? Automated screening algotithms just auto-reject based on resume content? Something else? I'm interested, in case it means I need to up my resume game to beat the LinkedIn or other bots. Thanks.

2024.05.19 05:50 ashrabbit999 Auto ecu in a manual g35

Is it possible to use a Auto ecu in a 04 6MT g35? I saw some wires got cut in my ecu connector harness and had my mechanic reconnect the wires correctly. Currently my car cranks and the fan runs at full speed, i think my ecu is fried. We checked the ecu fuse and the relay and they are both reading fine. Is possible i can use a auto ecu and probably flash it by a tuner to work?
