First and for most.. Im a teacher.. Teacher ako sa malapit na school dito sa house ko. Even before ko mabili ang property na ito, nagwowork na ako sa school na ito.. Strict ako.. Ako ung teacher na, strict sa deadline, di nagbibigay ng bonus points (in my defense, i let my student earn the extra points, like having correct answers in recitation, writing complete lectures, and the like.), and nang-babagsak ako ng mga non compliant learners (meaning after many unmet deadlines of outputs, many unattended schedule of remedial classes, and many unmet deadlines of remedial activities). Math teachers ako. Mahirap ang subject na tinuturo ko, kaya lahat ng means to help my learners, ginagawa ko, AS LONG AS, hindi nito gagalawin ung oras ko para sa anak ko (my husband is in the military, so you know, hindi malayo ang sitwasyon ko sa pagiging single mom.) Im not perfect. I have my short comings, may mga nalilimutan ako, thats why i always ask my learners to remind me, in case na nalilimutan ko (side effect ata ito ng pagmumulti task ko, at kulang everyday sa tulog). My neighbor (we will call her, ate lyny, not her real name), who is a mother of 2, 1 of which ay my autism, and the other 1 is (we will call him, junel, not his real name), my student in math this school year. Even before the school year start, alam ko na, na hindi gumagawa ng homework itong si junel, at hindi rin nagsasagot ng seatworks, dahil naging student ko cya sa summer class (itong summer class ay hindi pra sa mga failed na learners, alam mo na kung ano yan.) Alam din ito ng kanyang naging class adviser, kasi dati cya nitong math teacher, kaya i advise him na gawin na lang yung mga written output sa school bago cya umuwi, kasi di naman cya gumagawa sa bahay. Ang strategy ko sa written output sa klase ko ay, binibigay ko ito, BEFORE ko simulan ang topics ko for the week. Para magkaroon na ng idea ang learners ko sa ano ang dapat nila matutunan sa topic namin, at mabigyan cla ng maraming time to answer it. I know, i know, puwede ito ma-abuso ng mga learners na madadaya, at i know, marami sila. But in my head, im doing it for those learners WHO WANT TO LEARN, yung interisado talaga na matutunan ung subject ko. Para kasi sa akin, at the end of the day, dapat nilalaban ko ung interest nung mga learners na gusto matuto sa tamang paraan, konti man sila, pero knowing na meron paring tulad nila, ay enough na para di ko sila sukuan. Going back to ate lyny. Well, si junel sa unang 2 grading ay pumapasa pa (barely, 75), pero pagdating ng 3rd grading, aun na, tuluyan na cyang nagfail, hindi na cya nagsstay ng hapon to do his written outputs, di na cya naglelecture or recite, lagi na lang cya nagdradrawing, at even sa by pair performance task, di na cya nagpaparticipate. Nagschedule ako ng remedial class for him, hindi cya dumadating, i gave him remedial activities, hindi niya ginagawa. Bilang neighbor nila, naisip ko, na kaya cguro ito nangyari ay dahil, umuwi ang father niya (seaman), baka na overwhelm cya, alam mo na, baka namiss niya, kaya nakalimot cya. Out of good will, nung umalis na ulit ang father niya at sakto din naman, tapos ko na macompute ang grades ng learners ko, kinausap ko si ate lyny, told her everything, at ung ginawa ko para matulungan sana si junel, at sinabi ko din na, i understand dahil umuwi si husband niya. Mabait naman si ate lyny, mabait cya sa anak ko, kaya nasabi ko un, napagpapasencyahan nila ung pagiingay ng baby ko (f/15 mo) sa gabi hanggang madaling araw, lalo na pag may sakit cya. Nakikipaglaro din cya, at times, sa baby ko, lalo na pag nasa labas din cya sa mga oras na nasa labas din ang anak ko. She told me na, kung pwede ay ipadala ko ung mga remedial activities sa kanya, cya na daw tutulong kay junel, sabi ko naman, at kung un ung gusto niya, ay cge lang, pero pag may tanong, o kailangan ng tulong, mag-sabi (ito ang lagi ko cnsabi sa lahat ng learners ko na nagdedecide na magremedial activities, instead na unattend ng remedial class, dahil alam ko na, may mga gawain ang subject ko na kailangan talaga ng matinding paliwanagan, lalo na kapag hindi ka inclined sa math.) So i did, i sent her the soft copies of remedial activities, even some learning materials, na pwede niya gamitin, pag nireview na niya ung topic kay junel. I also told her na they dont have to print na activities, kopyahin na lang sa papel, at doon na din sagutan, copy and then answer as they say. Also, my only request is, ichecheck ko lang ung activities kapag kumpleto ang sagot at kinopya ang lahat ng activities. Ito naman ay for my convenience, pra isang upuan lang lahat ng pagcheck ko at para mabasa ko kung bakit un ang naisip niya na sagot (baka kasi mali ung nakopya niya kaya, iba din ung sagot niya, so i would know, kung kailangan ko iconsider.) The activities are MOSTLY MULTIPLE CHOICE activities 1-10, and few performance task. Strict ako sa performance task, kasi dito ko talaga makikita kung naintindihan ng learners ko ung topic namin. Kaya, pag alam ko na mali ung sagot, pinapaulit ko, hanggang tumama. So, i told ate lyny ang deadline ng remedial activities. That time, meron pa si junel na 8 weeks para magawa ung remedial activities (about 8 multiple choice activities and 6 performance tasks, alam ko marami, pero kaya naman yan, kasi per topic ung performance task, kaya simple lang din ang mga sagot at dapat gawin as evidence ng sagot, like, Justify in 2-3 sentence, 1 worded problem answer in complete solution, create 1 worded problem then answer, and the like.) I reminded my remedial learners, specially those na pinili na mag-remedial activity na lang, na kung matapos nila ng mas maaga sa deadline ang mga activities, ipasa na agad, pra makita ko kung my kulang o mali, so that, i could tell it to them, and still have time para kumpletuhin, at kung mali, pwede ko maidiscuss sa kanila ung mali nila, and again, have time to correct it. How i remind my students, you might ask? Sinasabi ko ito, every after class namin, maging f2f, or online class man ito. I PM them to their fb messenger accnts, once a week, nung mejo months pa b4 the deadline, pero ung 2 weeks na lang, 1 message them once a day. I message their class advisers, to post the reminder to their class gc and to their pta class gc. Having said this, dinaig ko na ang mga telecommunication company (remind pag walang load, at sa mga promo) sa pagremind sa kanila. Ayaw ko kasi masabihan na nalimutan nila, o kaya, hindi nila alam, kaya ginawa ko lahat ng means to remind them. So, 2 weeks before the deadline, itong si junel ay nagpasa ng kanyang remedial activities, pero ito ay printed na copy ng mga activities, sabi ko sa kanya, copy and then answer lahat ng activities, pinakita ko sa kanya ung instruction na cnend ko kay mama niya at ung isa sa mga reminder messages na cnend ko din ky mama niya, na may nakalagay na copy and then answer. Umalis si junel, pero to make sure na ssbhin niya kay mama niya, nagmessage din ako sa mama niya. 2 days before the deadline, itong si junel ay nagpasa ulit, this time naka hand written na, kaya sabi ko sa kanya, ichecheck ko kung kumpleto, at kung tama ung answer sa pt, then kapag my kulang o mali, magmemessage ako, para kunin niya kinabukasan, at maayos pa. So, my nakita akong kulang at mali, i send the info right away (same day). Gabi ko na nasesend yung info, kasi ginagabi na din ako sa pagchecheck (6 teaching hours, 2 clerical/admin work hou1 hour lunch break. So u see, pag nagremedial class ako, or nagcheck ng remedial activities, lalagpas na ako sa 8 working hours). Like gabing gabi, around 9pm. Ayaw ko kasi maguwi ng work sa bahay, dahil ayaw kong isipin ng mga neighbor ko na kapag nasa bahay ako, nagwowork parin ako. Ayaw ko din kasi na maglakas loob sila na kausapin ako about work or magpasa ng kung ano ano kapag nasa bahay ako. Pag nasa bahay ako, nanay ako ng anak ko, kung kakausapin ako sa bahay, it should be anything, basta walang kinalaman sa trabaho, at ganun din naman ako pag sa school, pag andoon ako, kausapin mo ako about work, not anything outside it. Ayaw ko din kasi kalakihan ng anak ko na nagtratrabaho ako sa bahay. Pag nasa bahay kami, nanay niya ako, at nasa kanya ang focus ko. The following day, around uwian ng hapon, hinihintay ko parin si junel na kunin ung activity niya, gabi na, tapos na ako magremedial class at magcheck, wala parin kumukuha. Kaya the following day, araw ng deadline, pinuntahan ko na cya, pra ibigay sa kanya, and i told him, kung magpapasa cya hihintayin ko ung ipapasa niya na kumpleto at tama, hanggang 5pm. Tinanong ko din cya, bakit di niya kinukuha, sabi niya, di daw niya alam, mejo nag-panting ung tenga ko, pero dahil my gagawin pa ako, sabi ko na lang, basta ipasa niya, hihintayin ko. So 5pm came, nagpasa nga cya, pero, walang nabago, walang madagdag at walang nabawas. So, sabi ko , wala naman nagbago, so i told him kung ano ung kulang at ano ung mali, and i told him, hindi ako uuwi hanggang di niya naipapasa yun ng kumpleto at tama (during that time, my mga kasama na cya na classmate niya na nagpapasa, at marami din naman cla na hinintay ko hanggang maging kumpleto at tama ung sagot.) Ung next na pagpasa niya (4 time), kumpleto naman na ung mga kulang, pero mali parin ung sagot sa pt. Its already late, around 7pm, kaya cnabi ko sa kanya, "i cannot wait any longer, hinihintay na ako ni bibi ___." (Kilala niya ang baby ko, kc nga neighbors kami.) And i ask him, anong gusto niya mangyari from here, kasi di ko na siya pwede hintayin. And he told me, gusto pa niya magpasa, at kung pwede ko cya pagbigyan kinabukasan, pumayag na lang ako, but i told him, pasa sa akin, before recess, kung pwede pag pasok niya ng morning, dahil my meeting ako by 9am (9:30am-recess). Again, hindi lang cya ang pinagbigyan ko magpasa, may ilang student din na nakiusap, at lahat sila pinagbigyan ko. So the following days came, and 9am came, walang nagpapasa. So my meeting started and ended, pag punta ko sa lamesa ko andoon ang ilan sa mga coteachers ko and they told me, my mga student na hinahanap ako at may pinasa. So tinanggap ko na lang, baka kasi nagpasa before recess o kaya during recess. Upon checking the submitted activities, wala parin doon ung kay junel, at hindi lang naman cya ang wala doon. So, lunchbreak came, my mga student na dumating at nagpapasa, i ask them kung bakit di nila pinasa, di daw nila naisip na iwan doon sa mga teachers, nagtanong lang daw cla, given na alam nila may mga teachers doon sa lamesa ko, tinanggap ko na lang, reason: kasi they still have the intention to pass sa oras na cnabi ko. When junel came, tinanong ko cya, bakit di niya pinasa kanina, at ang sagot niya, "wala po kasi teacher dito kanina." So tinanong ko ung coteacher ko, kung umalis cya, sabi niya, hindi cya umalis, umalis lang cya nung dumating na ako. So, tinanong ko ulit siya, di na cya sumagot, so i told him, hindi ko na matatanggap kung ano ung ipapasa niya. Reason: nagsinungaling siya at wala cyang intension na magpasa on time. Sabi ko na lang, ipapamessage ko na lang sa adviser mo si mama mo, kung need mo magsummer classes. Umalis na ung bata. Afternoon came, may meeting nanaman ako, so nilagay ko sa pinto ng office kung saan ako naglalamesa na, meeting on going, come back later. Ung hapon na un, wala na akong inaasahan na magpapasa. Ung last person na magpapasa sa akin,ay 5pm pa ang dating, nakiusap un earlier in the morning, dahil di pa daw cya tapos, at kakausapin daw niya ko ulit para magtanong, pumayag ako. Reason: asked for extension earlier, and express his intention for help. After ng meeting, nagmessage sa akin ung adviser, with a forwarded message from ate lyny, asking bakit di ko tinanggap ung pinasa ni junel niya, stating ung reason ni junel. I told the class adviser, na totoo un, at kung bakit. Sabi ng class adviser, ano daw ssbhin niya doon kay ate lyny, and i told her, kung gusto ako kausapin, puntahan lang ako dito sa school. So the day ended. The following day, kinausap ako ng isang coteacher ko, telling me na itong so ate lyny, around 5pm the previous day, ay nagbubunganga sa labas ng school, telling everyone that would listen to her na nawawala daw ung anak niya, hindi pa daw umuuwi, at dahil daw hindi ko tinanggap ung pinasa ng anak niya. So, kinuwento ko doon sa coteacher ko ung encounter ko doon kay junel the previous day, and told her na hayaan na niya un. Fer hours later, dumating si ate lyny sa office, kasama c junel, at nasa office din ang mga coteacher ko (ung mga nakaupo sa lamesa ko the previous day). Obvious sa mukha niya na galit cya. Kaya i welcomed her, at ung anak niya, pinapasok ko, at i offered na maupo, ayaw. So, nagsalita na cya, i told her, kung ano sabi ng mga coteacher ko, at si ate lyny, tinignan lang din ung anak niya, di parin nagsasalita ung anak niya, sabay sabi, ganyan daw talaga anak niya, di nagsasalita. Then tinanong ko, kung san niya nahanap ung anak niya, kasi nakarating din sa akin na nawawal ung anak niya kahapon, sabi niya, nasa bahay lang pala nila, hindi niya lang namalayan umuwi, kasi di daw nag-mano pag dating. Then sabi ko na lang, facing junel this time, so what do you want to happen now junel, at himalang magkadila bigla si junel, gusto daw niya magpasa, so sabi ko sa kanya, next time tell the truth, nag-oo lang cya, at inabot sa akin ung activities, and also sinabi ko na din na hindi nagbago performance ni junel ng 4th grading, di parin cya gumagawa at nagpapasa ng activity, for that, bagsak nanaman ang grade niya, ate lyny asked kung puwede pa ba gawin ni junel ung mga activity, again i faced junel and asked him kung gusto ba niya and he noded, so i told ate lyny, puwede naman basta gusto ni junel, will forward the activities to her na lang later that day, and i asked junel again kung kailan niya gusto ipasa, ayaw pa niya magsabi nung una, pero sabi ko, ayaw ko na magsabi ng date, kasi hindi naman sinusunod, kaya sila na magsabi, para sigurado na masusunod, and then did told me kung kailan nila gusto ipasa, pumayag ako. Again, marami din nakiusap sa akin ng ganito, at pumayag din ako. Before they leave, humingi ng sorry si ate lyny, sabi niya marami daw cya nabunganga the previous day kasi daw sabay sabay ung dating ng balita sa kanya, my prob din daw sa school ung anak niya na may autism tapos they need money para ipa theraphy ung anak niya, masyado daw malaki ung pera, tapos sumabay pa ung hindi daw tinanggap ung pinasa ni junel, kaya daw kung saan saan daw cya nakapagbunganga, to the point na my kinausap daw cya na principal, asking kung pwede ba daw ung ginawa ko, then sabi daw nung principal, kausapin daw muna ako. Frustrated daw talaga cya the previous day. Naawa ako sa kanya, i feel her eh.. Isa lang niya, dalawa alaga niya, and as a teacher, i know how challenging ang pag-aalaga ng batang may autism at batang nagbibinata. So i just told her, lilipas din ung mga problema, everyone have their bad days, ang mahalaga we learned from them and try harder not to do it again. She left, i send her the activities. And then the afternoon came, 1 of my coteachers came (isa sa mga nakaupo sa lamesa ko the previous day), asking about mr. Albert (a different story), so i told him the story about mr. Albert, and sabi niya, my kinukwento kasi ung bakla (1 of my coteacher na, you know, bakla nga, dont worry, he knows it, and very proud about it.), my parent daw na nagpunta sa office ng coordinating principal (big boss ng mga principal sa isang district) at nirereklamo ako yesterday, nagpapasa daw ako ng "project" tapos nung ipapasa na, hindi daw ako makita, at nung nakita ako sa ibang oras, ayaw ko na tanggapin. And then it hit me, si ate lyny ung tinutukoy niya, so i asked, sino nagsabi sa bakla?, ung friend daw niya na principal, so i asked again, paano nalaman ni friend niya na principal, and it turned out, ito palang si ate lyny, ay nagrant rant sa harap ng coordinating principal habang siya ay nasa meeting with the other principals. So.. Aun na nga, ung cnsabi ni ate lyny na nakausap niya na principal ay si coordinating principal. So.. Im hurt.. She did all of this ng hindi niya alam ang tunay na kuwento. Pakiramdam ko, naloko ako. Naawa pa ako. Ang totoo pala ay, sobra sobra ung ginawa niya. Iniskandalo niya ako. Pero, kahit ganito ginawa niya. Hurt lang ako, pero di ako galit. Naawa parin ako. Hindi bago sa akin ung mga parent na galit kapag di ko pinapasa ung mga learner nila. I dont take it personally, trabaho lang. Pero pakiramdam ko, personal sa akin itong ginawa ni ate lyny. Hindi ko alam kung paano ako makakamove on sa ginawa niya. Sinabi ko na din sa helper ko na, huwag ng palalapitin ung anak ko sa kanila, sa buong household niya. Ganun ito ka-personal. Lesson. May mga teacher na ginagawa ng maayos ang trabaho nila. Malayo ang nararating ng taong mapagkumbaba. Sabi nga ni MS. RACHELL, "stop, breath slowly, in and out, stop, breath slowy, theres no need to shout, you will feel better soon, start by breathing slow."

I can clear MoC 12 node 1 with 2 cycles using my original RM comp.
But then I still caved and pulled Robin E0S0 and built her last night with the S5 For Tomorrow's Journey (the free event lightcone) and using ATK relics (4000 ATK with 120 speed). Tried her on the same FUA setup and was able to clear it in 2 cycles, like really identical with my RM comp.
Sorry I cannot provide build pics right now but here are the original builds and all important traces are level 9/10:

• E0S0 Ruan Mei is using S5 cogs and rainbow pieces to achieve the 160 BE requirement with 139 speed.
• E0S0 Dr Ratio is using 2pc FUA 2pc Messenger with S5 Herta LC and ATK boots with 125 speed. (4000 ATK with 79/187 ratio)
• E0S1 Topaz is using 4pc Duke set with ATK boots with 125 speed. (2800 ATK with 86/157 ratio)
• E0S0 Aventurine is using 2pc FUA and 2pc DEF and S5 Destiny with 137 speed (3700 DEF with 41/143 ratio)

I'm no TC but I think that RM's 10 SPD team-wide buff is the reason why Robin is only a side-grade here. With that extra 10 speed, both Ratio and Topaz achieved 135 speed while still using ATK boots. Another great thing about RM is she's SP positive and that enables my Topaz to always use her skill.
When I replaced RM with Robin, I didn't change any relics so both Ratio and Topaz remained in 125 speed and I was able to clear with 2 cycles. I tried switching to SPD boots but it heavily altered my builds and was still able to clear it in 2 cycles.
So what are my expectations? Well I thought I can 1-cycle it using Robin :P
So which one is more comfier? Honestly, I feel that Ruan Mei is comfier but only because the SP economy is better over Robin. With RM, I frequently use Topaz's skill since I love breaking the enemies with Numby lol. With Robin, I think Topaz uses her basic attack for at least half of her turns so I can use Robin's skill whenever she's up to fill her Ult. My Aventurine in this comp is SP++ since he never had to use his skill.
So do I regret pulling for Robin? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Sure I'm a bit disappointed that Robin did not outperform my RM in FUA teams but it also means that they both balanced to the point where you can't go wrong with either ladies. I was hesitant to get Robin since I also have Sparkle but now what I am planning to do is to put put Robin in my FUA team, then RM for my future Break team (Boothill/Firefly) and Sparkle for King Yuan and DHIL :)
Now I'm excited to do a hypercarry 0-cycle comp with Sparkle, Robin and RM :)
Again, these are all my initial thoughts/testing. I will probably upload a video soon once I maxed out Robin's traces :)

And I’m talking about the original 2000 anime. Since I’ve seen it four times now. I know there’s a live action version from 2009, but that doesn’t count. Me and a friend from 7th-8th grade have been chatting on Messenger about a hypothetical 2011 live-action version of Blood: The Last Vampire being released instead of Super 8. Had the 2009 version never existed at all. It would just simply titled Blood. Imagine this staying true to the 2000 anime with its fall 1966 setting but expanded showing more of Saya doing more detective work in and around the Air Force base and the school she attends while undercover. J.J. would also use elements of the manga and light novel tie-in including the PS2 visual novel. Even including what Kitakubo (the director of the 2000 anime) originally planned for the follow ups. We thought about having Christopher Nolan as producer which would’ve made it amazing. Don’t know if Spielberg would even be involved.
Imagine Blood being filmed in the fall of 2010 at the actual Yokota Air Base (for some scenes) and parts of Tokyo. As this would’ve been a few months before earthquake had struck in March 2011. Though the school would’ve been filmed at an old army barracks with wooden ones (like two-story ones) at a former military base in the US (where filming would’ve taken place mostly). But I don’t know which school would’ve been used since it would have to match the one in Yokota from the anime (yet the actual one didn’t exist until 1973). It would’ve been interesting hearing J.J. in the commentary saying that shot was filmed in Japan or this shot was filmed in America. I bet the C-130 take off with the chiropteran following it and B-52 take off right at the end of the movie would have to been real ones from Yokota. Even when hangars burns down it would’ve be actual one they didn’t need anymore, though the actors inside would be filmed in an early version of the on-set virtual production with the LED lights simulating flames. The C-130 takeoff as the chiropteran follows it would’ve a mix of both stunt doubles and the actors filmed against a blue screen much like in Rogue Nation. I bet most of the filming would’ve taken place at night with some during the day. While Industrial Light & Magic would do the CGI effects for the chiropterans (some done by an actor wearing a mo-cap suit on set and others with key frame mixed in), the subway tunnel in the opening, aerials of the 1966 Yokota Air Base among others like matte paintings or touchups. As well as some practical effects like Sharon’s transformation into a chiropteran via makeup and prosthetics by either Stan Winston Studios, Rick Baker or Steve Johnson, Linda’s dead chiropteran form in the nursing bed, the dying chiropteran, the mangled corpse of the Air Force guardsman at the hangar and the corpse in the bathtub. The chiropterans would stay true to their 2000 counterparts but would look more hideous and grotesque looking. Imagine Guillermo Del Toro doing the design of the realistic chiropterans while basing off of Terada’s designs, don’t know if he would serve as producer.
While Super 8 never gets made in this alternate timeline, though elements of it would sneak into Blood particularly the Area 51 subplot and not the other involving the kids making a movie. Notably the school nurse suspecting that there’s some coverup going on much like how the sheriff knows something’s wrong or how the chiropterans snuffs out its prey in a way similar to what the alien does in Super 8. One example is when a chiropteran eats a black Air Force guardsman when the nurse tries to get help.
Then for the cast, I would go with Noah Emmerich and Richard T. Jones as the two Men in Black-esque agents since they did play two Air Force officers in Super 8. Saya would’ve been played by a young Japanese woman (either 19 or 20 years) that was big name in 2010-11 timeframe in Japan but unknown to the rest of the world. The nurse also would’ve been played by an older Japanese woman. Sharon and Linda, the friend suggested Emma Watson and a then unknown Margot Robbie (by me) but there would’ve been a lot of other actresses from 2010-11 that could’ve played them. I also thought of Dakota Fanning for the part of Sharon, though she would’ve been too young for the part then again she was also doing the second and third Twilight movies at the time. The actresses playing Sharon and Linda would’ve been their first roles much like the kid actors who played Joe and Charles in Super 8. Like Saya, they also would’ve been 19 or 20 years. I also thought about Bruce Greenwood in a small part playing the JFK-looking agent who interrogates the school nurse at the end of the movie and David Gallagher (who also was in Super 8 playing the camera store owner) in a small role playing an Air Force guardsman who gets punched in the guts by Saya knocking him out.
Michael Giacchino does the score for Blood. I bet the horror elements that were heard in his Super 8 score would instead be used in Blood. It would also sound very similar to his score for Let Me In. A mix of both Super 8 and Let Me In.
With it being set during Halloween. Why not have the movie be released in October 2011, which both me and the friend agreed would make sense. Since late summer-fall 2011 had two vampire movies come out like the Fright Night remake in August and Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 in November. Blood would’ve gone up against the Thing prequel which was also released on the same day. But also some competition with Real Steel which was released the week before.
This would’ve been a rated R because of violence and possible language. Which I’m surprised J.J. hasn’t even directed one. It probably would’ve been his only one in his filmography.
And I bet the marketing would’ve been very similar to Super 8’s. But more on the horror and suspense than the sci-fi. It even would’ve had the same font as Super 8.
Imagine this being one of the last Paramount movies along with Hugo and Young Adult to use the 2002 logo before the debut of the new logo in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol for the 100th anniversary at the time which is still in use. Tintin (also a Paramount movie was the last one to use that logo) wouldn’t even exist in this alternate timeline as well. Since Spielberg and Peter Jackson had released an animated LOTR-style adaptation of Miyazaki’s Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind on the same day Super 8 was supposed to come out in June 2011. Which would’ve had the same animation Tintin used. Spielberg’s version would’ve mostly followed the manga instead of the anime. Or maybe Super 8 still exists but it was pushed back to a September 2011 release since there was no Paramount being released in that month.
This would’ve been like Cloverfield but with vampires.

And such has been their influence over this Church in this place, that they have filched the monies from their pockets and obtained their earthly substance for the purpose of establishing a Bank and various wild speculations, in order that they might aggrandize themselves and families, until they have reduced their followers to wretchedness and want. For the year past their lives have been one continued scene of lying, deception, and fraud, and that too, in the name of God. But this I can account for in my own mind, having a knowledge of their private characters and sentiments, I believe them to be confirmed Infidels, who have not the fear of God before their eyes, notwithstanding their high pretensions to holiness, and frequent correspondence with the Angels of Heaven, and the revelations of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Ghost. What avails the claims of such men to holiness of heart, when their examples do violence to the system of morality, to say nothing about religion? What more favorable idea, can one entertain who has heard them say that man has no more agency than a wheelbarrow, and consequently is not accountable, and in the final end of all things no such principle will exist as sin. This language, independent of many abominations that might be named, such as the Prophet's fighting four pitched battles at fisticuff, within four years, one with his own natural brother, one with his brother-in-law, one with Ezra Thair, and one with a Baptist priest, speaks volumes. -- Their management in this place has reduced society to a complete wreck. The recent outrage committed here, viz. the burning of the Printing establishment, I have no doubt was nothing more, nor less than carrying into effect Smith and Rigdon's last revelation that they had before they took their leave of this place between two days -- in fact the lying, fighting, stealing, running away, &c., that has carried on among us are only reducing their theory to practice, and in some instances they have not only taught the theory, but have set the example themselves. And I am fully convinced that their precepts and examples, both in public and in private, are calculated to corrupt the morals of their votaries and cast a shade over their characters, which like the twilight of evening will soon settle into the gloom of midnight darkness; and had it not been arrested in its mad career, would have transmitted to succeeding generations, a system of hereditary tyranny, and spiritual despotism, unparalleled in the annals of the christian Church, the Church of Rome not excepted. But they have fled in the night; "they love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil; the wicked flee when no man pursuth." -- the printing establishment, book bindery, &c., was formerly the property of Smith and Rigdon; it had been sold the day previous to its being set on fire, by virtue of two executions obtained against them of one thousand dollars each, for issuing banking paper contrary to law. The establishment had fallen into the hands of those who have of late remonstrated against the wickedness of the above-named individuals; and had it not been sacrificed upon the altar of reckless fanaticism, it would no doubt at this time have been speaking the truth, as an atonement for an ill-spent life; a well grounded conviction of this fact was evidently one reason why Smith and Rigdon obtained a revelation to abscond; and that the press must not at all hazards be suffered to be put in requisition against them; also that God would destroy this place by fire, for its wickedness against his Prophets, and that his servants are swift messengers of destruction, by whose hands he avenges himself upon his enemies; this accounts for the outrage. This is but a preface to the catalogue of their iniquities that might be enumerated. I am feeling distressed. Actually I don't know what to feel right now. Halo halo. I just woke up feeling super sad, super empty. Drama. Like I wanted to cry for no reason then andaming pumasok sa isip ko.
I was just reading a story here in this sub about their circle of friends at ang dami kong narealize, or probably I already know but I'm just not paying attention to it.
I (25F) had a circle of friends that I've been with since childhood. A (26M), B (26M), C (26F) and D (25F) are my somehow distant relatives and we grew up being friends and classmates together from elem to highschool. Daming away bata, pero at the end of the day, solid pa din kami.
Kahit nung magstop ako sa uni at magtrabaho at the age of 18, they never stopped being my friends. I remember na C and D were with me when I first applied for a job as a call center agent. I don't know the BPO industry. I know nothing about it, but I am proficient with the English language kahit noong elementarya pa lang, so when a headhunter asked me if I'm interested, I said yes. Actually kahit anong job lang talaga ina-apply-an ko. Nung time na yon, kahit sales lady lang. Ang pera namin at most 2h to 3h lang. D had 3h and both C and I only have around 2h. We went there at 11 AM and went home around 3 AM the next day at natanggap naman ako.
We only ate once around lunch time pa. Hahaha! Sabi ko pa sa kanila around 5 PM, mauna na sila umuwi, kaya ko na. Pero hindi nila ako iniwan kasi alam nila yung problem sa bahay at na kailangan ko sobra ang trabaho. Ang pameryenda lang samin ng company is one cup noodles at biscuit tapos water from water dispenser. Hindi ko kinain, binigay ko sa kanila kasi candy na lang kinakain nila nung time na yon. Ayaw pa nila tanggapin, kaso sabi ko nakakain na ako, to which is hindi pa naman. Sobra lang akong nahihiya at naaawa sa kanila. Tapos while waiting sa result ng interview, around 2 AM, nagkausap pa kami na "may takeout kami kanina na tirang chicken sa mang inasal diba? Kinain namin sa cr." Tapos tawanan kami kasi bakit sa cr? Nahihiya daw sila doon sa company kumain kasi maamoy. Noong time na yon, tawa lang kami ng tawa. But now, looking back, while I sacrifice my chance to go to school, they also sacrifice their time and patience para makakuha ako ng trabaho. I was very very grateful sa kanilang dalawa, until now. Tanda ko pa din na nangako akong sa unang sahod ko, treat ko sila, but hindi ko s'ya nagawa agad. It was a few months after pa kasi sobrang daming gastos sa bahay at hindi ko naman nahahawakan ang pera at ang ATM ko to be honest. Pero nabibigyan naman ako ng sapat na baon at pera pangpasok ulit sa work. I had no qualms or misgivings about it. Happy ako makatulong sa bahay.
That time, C and D are in college (they went to different university). C went to a state uni taking financial management while D, who's a bit well off, went to an expensive uni taking customs administration hehe. Me? I was working. For the first year, almost ever weekend kasama sina A and B, na ibang uni din pinapasukan since A chose to go to a uni in a different province to be a policeman, B chose a marine university to be a seafarer, kumakain kami sa labas. Not expensive. Lomi lang. Hahaha! I remember ang dami naming napuntahan na places nearby sa barangay lang namin ha, na lomian talaga. Sometimes ako yung nalilibre kahit ako yung may trabaho which I super duper appreciate talaga.
Since we all went different ways, may mga friendships na mabubuo sila sa college at ako naman sa work. However, I'm the type of person na aakalain mong extrovert kasi I can talk to everyone happily pero I can never open up about a lot of things. Parang I build walls? Na recently ko lang narealize. Around second year of working, we slowly became busy. Sobrang dami nilang school works, at ang daming projects, papers, etc.
(Medyo magulo but I already took two years in college kaso I stopped so at this point, they were all in their third yr to fourth yr in college.)
I realized na we're slowly losing our weekends getaway, papunta sa nawawalan na din kami ng time magreach out sa isa't isa. Then, I noticed that whenever I want to tag them sa memes sa FB or send them memes thru messenger, may iba na silang tinatag or may ibang nagsshare na sa kanila. Especially with C and D.
I remember, I think this was back in 2021. I saw a post about a trio that I can super relate that's about us. Pero nung makita ko yung post, si D pala ang nagshare tapos tagged ang dalawa sa friends n'ya sa college. Understand ko ha, it's just that I can't help but be jealous like, hindi ba ako ang naaalala n'yo sa ganito? Hahaha. Idk. That's so petty of me.
Then, starting from there, I noticed everything I don't want to. It was that I was the only one tagging them sa memes, reaching out and saying "kamusta?" on our GCs. Sending funny videos and memes. They never did that to me. Even until now. Nagsesend pa din ako ng kung ano ano sa "patay" naming GC. Hahaha. Because I still treat them as my main group of friends, even if they don't think the same about me,, although tatlo na lang kami sa GC since may asawa na pareho sina A and B and we don't want their wives to feel jealous about the things we talk about kasi alam n'yo naman siguro, na altho walang malisya, may napapagusapan pa din kaming naught things sa GC namin, so we created a new one na tatlo lang kami.
Right now, I really really felt sad.
Nakagraduate na din naman ako last year although two year course lang, but until now, I don't have the motivation to work. Parang naburnout ako? I want to look for a job, kaso I don't know how to start, and no, I'm not soliciting advises kasi I know how to start, but like I don't have a motivation or something. Magulo? Hahaha. Super. Pati utak ko.
Although, job hopper ako before I went back to school, I started working when I was 18 and it lasted until I was 23. 2017 was the worst yr we've had. He was diagnosed with cancer early June. Hospitalized for 20 days in a private hospital with a total bill amounting to more than half a million. Saan kami kumuha ng pera? Utang lahat. Hahaha! His sss and company helped. The medical card he have, helped too. He was told that he'll have at most three months to live, so he was discharged. On my birthday. But he died exactly 3 months after, with only a week before my sister's 18th birthday. I remember sabi ng tatay sa bunso namin, "ano gusto mong pagkain? Anong gusto mong handa? Dalaga na bunso namin." And she answered kahit ano. We never thought na mahahandaan nga n'ya ang bunso namin. Tumapat ng siyaman ang birthday n'ya. Bilang kagustuhan din n'ya na maipaghanda ang bunso namin, nagpacater kami kahit wala din naman kaming pera. But that celebration wasn't really for my sister's birthday, para talaga sa tatay yon. We're all mourning and grieving, but we don't have time to. Ang dami naming utang. Nabaon kami.
But years later, heto na kami. Nakabayad na ng utang, with a special help from my brother. Nakapagpaayos ng bahay. Hindi na putik ang natutungtungan namin, hindi na kami binabaha sa loob pag umuulan, hindi na pumapatak ang tubig sa mga butas sa bubong. Hindi na namin kailangang magising ng disoras ng gabi dahil nabasa ang hinihigaan namin. May kanya kanya na kaming kwarto, kung dati pangarap namin ang may pintura sa bahay, pati kwarto meron na din. May TV na kami at hindi na kailangan pukpukin para magkatao or dumayo sa kapitbahay tapos pagsasarhan ng bintana, may ref na kami at hindi na kailangang magpahabilin ng hotdog. Ang electric fan namin na hindi umiikot at iisa lang, ngayon sa sobrang dami, hindi nagagamit lahat. Hindi naman kami yumaman, pero ngayon, afford na namin yung mga bagay na hindi namin akalaing magkakaroon din kami.
A lot of things happened in the span of those years from when I was 17, 18 to now that I'm 25.
And now, my brother has his own family. He's a seafarer and is married to a very very nice and kind hearted teacher. May baby na sila. My younger sister is an engineer working for a reputable company. Ako? Nakatapos din ako ng hospitality management. Kuya ko nagpaaral sakin. Kasi napangako n'ya yon nung mamatay si tatay. Sobrang thankful ako. Pero to be honest, I don't really want to go back to school. But I was happy I did.

Without a Shielder, preferably Aventurine, it is simply better to invest in another Character since he dies exponentially more often than other DPS’

• Skill is exclusively Single Target

Ult remedies this a bit by being 3 target

• 2 Bad Stat Traces

Arlan’s skill drains on percentage of Max HP, his max HP traces are literally useless, and Effect Res traces are more of a con than a pro since he has a harder time achieving a good crit rate to crit damage ratio

• Low (for his playstyle) base Attack Stat

Genuinely his Multipliers being nerfed from beta wasn't as bad as how the fact that he gets HP traces, his useless Eidolon 4 and A2 and A6 traces completely working against him Hoyo please buff (with a good relic set 😁)

All of this factors into his indirect biggest strength, Investment y Cost

Arlan as a Lightning DPS competes heavily for investment time and cost against other strong Lightning DPS, Serval is his immediate F2P friendly contender, alongside heavy hitting Limited 5 Star DPS' like Jing Yuan, Kafka and Acheron
And the fact that he needs to be run with a Shielder (im ignoring super cracked 0-1 cycle teams) and doesn't perform the best with Healers, means you may literally be unable to effectively use Arlan because of a lack of invest for a unit on the Path of Preservation
I would actually only recommend building Arlan once you have at least one, but ideally two good teams built. Because it’s just a fact that he needs way more investment than other units in his element type and even against the other 4 stars DPS' because of his lack of Crit traces
He needs dedication and investment, where some OP units just slap out of the box and before you build Arlan you should ask yourself if you wanna commit to the work in to making him cracked

Why is Aventurine so good on Arlan?

Not only are both characters extremely self destructive that their character stories revolve around that toxic trait in lore with peak male design, they both are extremely synergistic in gameplay
He's the only Shielder that can apply a shield on Skill WHILE being able solo sustain the entire team with no issues, it also stacks so even less chance you have to reset because Shield ran out or was not enough and Arlan got smacked and now you have to spend 5-10 mins doing the first wave again

And also:

• Helps Arlan's crit damage with his Ult
• Applies great chip damage for enemies and toughness break for Imaginary mobs helping him mob clear fast (which also stacks the shield again
• Boosts effect res for the entire team

Like Topaz, he can be played either SP neutral or Positive, so Skilling semi frequently on Aventurine is also great since he has RNG in the amount if Follow-up Attack stacks he can get from Skill and Ult

Aventurine alternatives

Will Aventurine be Arlan’s best sustain? Without a shadow of a doubt, But there are so many examples of people clearing the hardest end-game content with Gepard, Fu Xuan or even March
Again, the question is, are you willing to commit effort into making Arlan shine?

Gepard

His shields are Ultimate reliant, eventually damage will break through the shield because you'll eventually run into a situation where you dont have shields up
He therefore becomes in a sense very SP negative with Arlan because you want to have make sure you have Shield up as much as possible so you may want to Skill to get faster energy and hold Ult even though another character may need that Skill point, it can feel uncomfy

Fu Xuan

She doesn't make shields, she just mitigates damage, Arlan will eventually die unless he can get HP off from killing enemies which ranges from horribly inconsistent because you have to rely on RNG that Arlan doesn't get hit, to literally impossible against certain MoC stages
Otherwise, same issues as Gepard but much more SP positive, her pseudo shields are on Skill, Ult contributes minor damage and toughness break against Quantum weak
Worth mentioned she provides a Crit Rate increase which is sorely appreciated on Arlan and has synergy with Silver Wolf

Support

Bronya

Best in slot, Like Blade, Arlan's SP neutrality completely negates Bronya's extreme SP negativity, if you have her at E1 and or with "But the battle isn't over" Lightcone, her SP negativity is lessened letting your other characters Skill
You would think it's counterintuitive cuz shields will run out more on Arlan, but with Aventurine’s constant Shield reapplication, it’s not much of an issue, even without Aventurine, killing enemies drastically reduces the chance for Arlan to get tapped and your run finished
DMG% increase, more Crit Damage, more Attack, everything Arlan wants, and more turns is more and faster Ult uptime
And if you have god rolls on your relics , you can afford to run Hyperspeed (161 speed) Bronya and let Arlan run Attack Boots over Speed and alternate between basics or skill, if you cant, making Bronya slower than Arlan and skill spamming works too

Tingyun

His other best in slot, Arlan can’t do Blast (3 target) damage unless he Ults, which means he suffers in 3+ target scenarios and Tingyun fixes this completely by letting him access his ult faster and her basic attack helps contribute damage and toughness break to mob enemies or the Elite/Boss
Attack increase from skill increases Arlan's low base Attack and a DMG% plus potentially more speed if you have her Eidolon 1 makes her so insanely good for Arlan
Tingyun is also the same Element as Arlan, meaning she benefits to an extreme degree from the Penacony set (activating both its energy regen increase capabilities offsetting the cost for not using Memories of Past or Meshing cogs Lightxones and Planetary Rendezvous and increasing damage for units of the same Element)
And Planetary Rendezvous (DMG% increase for allies of the same element)
you've got your typical Energy Regen builds with Meshing Cogs, Memories of Past, and her best light cone Dance, Dance, Dance!

Overall i feel these are his best supports because of accessibility

You likely have a Tingyun at this stage of the game, and she's good at any eidolon level
Bronya may be a bit harder to get a hold of, but your guaranteed to be able to get get her after 300 pulls on the standard banner, for reference, i've been playing nearly daily since October 2023 during Topaz banner and i have about 220 standard banner pulls
And from a straight unlucky stand point, you likely have both S5 Meshing Cogs and S5 Past and Future for Tingyun and Bronya respectively

Alternative Supports

Ruan Mei

Ruan Mei is pretty much good in every single team, Arlan is no exception but she lags slightly behind Tingyun and Bronya a bit because she's great, but she isn't as extremely synergistic as them for Arlan, especially since he isn’t DoT and or Break Effect oriented

Sparkle

While Sparkle is usually better than Bronya for most DPSs since most of them are SP Negative, for SP Neutral characters like Arlan, Blade and the lower end of SP Negativity like Jing Liu, Bronya is a the straight upgrade
There is a combo with Bronya Sparkle but that honestly works way better for Argenti and loosely Jing Yuan

Silver Wolf

Reasonably SP positive (just gotta suffer through resets to get the right implant), and the best Single Target defense shred in the game
Really only here if you want to brute force a stage with Arlan due to a stage not having Lightning weakness

Sub/Main DPS?

There’s some possibility for him to be a Sub DPS, pairs with Argenti and Serval comes to mind since they solve each others targeting issues, but data on Prydwen shows that he’s played as a Hypercarry, though this may change as the player base experiments a bit more due to Aventurine enabling Arlan to comfortably play Sub DPS

I guess we should start with me:
Me - 25 M, the only college graduate among my siblings. Practising my mechanical engineering degree for 1.5 years now earning 21k from it. The company provides us with a stay-in kaya ang expenses ko lang kada buwan ay Food, Transporation, and Laundry, weekly lang ako umuuwi samin. I also work for my uncle's company as part-time earning only 5k per month by inspecting a bldg in BGC. I give 2.5k per cut-off to my parents, and I also give 1.2k to my dad to fund his medicine or else he'd go completely blind, leading to 6.2k PHP per month.

• Parents - Both of them are retired, and they only sell street foods outside of our house. The youngest (my brother) helps them by preparing the sauces, utensils, and equipment at home, and selling outside with them. The profit we get only covers the transportation to the market and the daily food on the table. My father has a pension mostly covering the household's monthly expenses. Bale hati kami ni tatay sa expenses sa bahay. My mother doesn't have a pension yet though, and she's having a hard time keeping the family together due to their issues (including mine which I admit)

• Eldest - My sister, 27 years old with Bipolar. College Dropout in social working, Dropped out on her 2nd year, which is 2 years before I graduate (grumaduate ako ng 2020 ah, nadelay buhay due to pandemic kaya nakapagboards lang noong early 2022). She dropped out kasi walang pera pangtuition sa kanya, while ako on the other hand libre ng university, she was taking meds until she stopped kasi nga financially struggling kami. Although from time to time nakakabili si mama for her PCOS and bipolar medicine. So until now wala syang ginagawa kundi tumulong ng konti sa tindahan and ayaw nyang magtinda sa labas dahil lang sa rason na "ayaw nya".

• Youngest - My brother, 24 years old with a left ear completely deaf. Also a college dropout in Computer Science. Turns out he lied to us na cinomplete nya subjects nya, un pala 5 na ang INC nya. He lied so me and my mom could stop nagging him to finish his studies. 1 year nalang tapos na dapat sya eh, so we were furious. Baliktad sya kay ate, malakas yung pagtulong nya sa tindahan. He also focuses on this naked trading, he's got this delusion na he's trying to get a fix in the game stating shit like "Within 2 weeks I have a 95% chance to turn this 50% into a 51% win rate from stonking". We confronted him about it and he gives off shitty indirect answers like how Trump answers 2 + 2 which pisses me off, especially hetalkslikeapersonwhodoesn'tbelievespacebarsexist when questioned about what he does. So I gave him an ultimatum since what he is achieving is impossible (as per my rich friends as well stating na dapat side hustle talaga muna yan hindi full time, he doesn't even have capital yet as well). So the ultimatum was that if nothing profitable came out of his naked trading within a month, he would put it on hold and start studying Python coding. Two months came since I didn't have time to check on him and surprisingly he fulfilled his end and studied.

That was back in September, so he studied Python and I didn't bother checking up on him since he was doing something different than Naked Trading. Then in March, I confronted him since he's been studying Python for more than 6 months now. He told me he ditched it back in January and went to C++ coding, so I accepted it but recently my mother told me I had to confront him since we were all worried about his future and that he doesn't deserve to be a guy who just sells street food. So I had to check up on him again to talk about his C++ coding.
2nd Disclaimer - Not the full details, I'll try to summarize it.
Me and my mother talked to him and told him he should do more about his life and start applying what he learned about C++ coding, and apply at least as an intern or part-time so he could start rather than self-studying. He told me doesn't want to since he thinks he's not yet ready and he's not good enough, he wanted to siphon all knowledge the internet provided about C++. Sabi namin hindi nya talaga malalaman na magaling at ready na sya, sa trabaho nya malalalaman yun, so ayun ayaw parin, naghihintay sya ng signs na nagiindicate na magaling na sya sa coding na yun, sadly he doesn't even know what signs he is looking for, and kahit certifications are stating na magaling sya sa coding baka hindi iconsider ng HR yan depending on the source of the certifications.
Then sinabi ko na hindi pwede na ako lang ang magtrabaho dito since hindi ko naachieve at nagagawa gusto ko, let's say if tumaas nga sweldo ko mapipilitan akong magbigay ng mas mataas na monthly contribution sa kanila kasi ako lang nagtratrabaho or else makokonsensya ako and I will feel bad about myself. I told him na dapat magwork din sya at huwag sila masyadong umasa sakin, that every inaction he does is another day of the family shouldering the burden on me and my father. In other words lugi parin ako since I can hardly save and buy some for myself at the same time since breadwinner nga ako kasi nga napipilitan akong magbigay ng pera or else I'll feel like a selfish villain.
I then thought na what if we were thinking it the wrong way, I thought what if I sacrificed my savings to fully fund my sister's PCOS and mental illness medicine so she could be ready to work instead of my brother? Then both of them (my mom and my bro) told me that it was a VERY BAD idea since kailangan pa daw "chempuhan" yung mood nya, and magiging mas magulo lang talaga if I confronted her about it. Then I reminded them that she stated kay mama that she wanted to work, she has the drive and I am happy that she had it and now I am willing to fund her recovery so she can be work-ready. Then sinabi nila sakin hindi sya tatanggap ng kahit anong work kasi ayaw nya ng non-voice at ayaw nya makipagusap sa tao regardless kung magrecover sya or hindi. Duon ko nasabi na "Pota akala ko kapag naminimize natin effects ng mental illness nya magiging okay na since I met people with mental illness pero kaya rin naman maging decent. Hindi na pala personality or mental illness problema nya, buong pagkatao na niya pala ang problema"
So ayun back to my brother, nabringup ko yung sa friend ko who is willing to give him a position as a part-time Python coder in Ortigas where he gets to be trained and paid as well, tapos sabi nya ayaw nya. Tinutulungan talaga namin siya by contacting the connections I have established where he can work at non-coding jobs like messenger or liaison officer then he started lashing out crying and bitching about being walang kwenta and masisira "plano" nya, I don't know if magmumukha akong masama dito ah pero hindi ako naawa, nacringe lang ako sa kanya that time at nainis kasi napakacringe at arte nya. He told me na sorry napakawalang kwentang pamilya natin like siya at si ate hindi nila kayang magtrabaho, si tatay dahil sa katandaan nya kaya nagaway sila ni ate like "Fire vs Water" na away. But still hindi ako naawa, nacringe lang talaga ako that time dahil napakadramatic nya, these lines won't even work in a shitty PH telenovela. So I came to a conclusion that night na akala ko na may good reason sila why they can't work, yun pala kahit presentahan mo ng choice, hindi talaga nila kukuhanin unless gusto nila. That time naging bitter ako sa kanila and decided na magpapakagago ako sa kanilang dalawa if I had the chance.
And that was a week ago, giving me time to cool off and process everything. One reason why he can't work is that walang tutulong kina mama at papa sa tindahan, sinabi ni mama na gagawan nila ng paraan nyan despite being old na. Still my brother wouldn't accept my mother's answer, gusto nya talaga ng concrete na alternate na hanapbuhay na kaya ng parents namin. Also, I thought that what if his path is not coding, what if he pushed him to a different path since hindi lang naman coding ang trabaho sa mundo, however, another problem lies, he doesn't know what he wants since he's already facing the adulting crisis that we have. And I can't take that since it will cost me naman if he doesn't decide what he wants to be.
Later I will try to confront my brother again, helping him find what he wants peacefully this time, while thinking about an alternate na hanapbuhay sa magulang ko since selling streetfoods is labor intensive. Also, I'm doing my part to upskill to negotiate higher salaries in my next jobs.
Sorry kung mukha akong kontrabida dito, I have wants as well and I couldn't pursue them. This family hates confrontations.

Before you decide to invest in Arlan, what is your goal for doing so?

If you just want to use him in non endgame content then you can ignore his cons and skip to the build
If you want to use him to clear endgame modes like Pure Fiction, Memories of Chaos, he’s usually listed at the bottom of tier lists because truthfully, he simply could not work without busting your ass to do it before Aventurine releases/released, not that his damage for a 4 star is bad, its extremely good for a 4 star, he was just prior to Aventurine release, extremely uncomfortable
The way his kit is designed means he’s always close to death and needs to be run with a Shielder, Fire MC’s shield just aren't thick enough, March 7th has trouble solo sustaining and Gepard’s Shield being ult reliant means eventually damage will bleed through, Aventurine completely negates this because he reapplies Shields on Skill and Follow Up Attack, and because Arlan is completely SP Neutral, Aventurine can afford to Skill more compared to if Adventure was paired with a Skill Point Hungry character like Acheron or Jing Yuan, Aventurine also having the added bonus that his Follow Up Attack helps Arlan since his Skill is exclusively single target
He’s also strangely hard to build, he suffers from “Hoyo trolling 4 star DPS stat traces except Guinaifen's” syndrome, he has Attack traces yes, but he has not 1 but 2 useless stat traces in HP and Effect res Traces, even though his Skill drains HP from his total HP percentage so it literally does nothing and his E2 automatically removes debuffs and he would MUCH rather prefer a Lightning Damage and Crit Rate or Damage trace
Also for some reason, he has a lower than average DEFENSE stat but a higher than average HEALTH stat, even though his skill drains skill on PERCENTAGE of total HP
Tl;dr, Don't come back to me when Arlan is out if D tier because of Aventurine, his entire cons are negated so as long as your willing to be patient to roll good relics for him, and crucially if you have Aventurine, Aventurine and Arlan my beloveds with similar character themes
Also side note, it’s absolutely criminal how hoyo designed two of his Major Traces and his Eidolon4 but Ill go over that in another post

Lightcones

Flames afar is a trap option

Arlan consumes 15% HP per attack, he will literally never activate this part of the lightcone

Fall of an Aeon (Best option overall)

Very F2P to low spender friendly, you will eventually S5 this, and it has basically 4.5 Star stats so Arlans low attack gets boosted, especially since after 4 attacks from Arlan, he has a permanent 64% attack boost
It needs Arlan to attack 4 times so it has ramp up time and Arlans first 5 turns us where he's weakest at, but well this is a problem on a Secret Vow anyways
Remember to weakness break trash mobs to get the extra damage% every 2 turns
Best in slot unless you can manage to get S2+ The Unreachable Side (Blade signature Lightcone) or S3+ A Secret Vow (Arlan's signature Lightcone)

a Secret Vow

HP, ATK, DEF

Arlan's Signature Lightcone, at S1-S5 it's a permanent 40-80% damage increase for Arlan, no one else in the game can consistently be lower HP than the enemy to trigger the extra damage and STAY that way, neither Clara nor Blade as they both want a Healing sustain so the uptime on the bonus is flippy floppy
Only problem is it suffers the sin of being a Gacha 4 star Lightcone so you're more likely to have this at S1-3 than Fall of an Aeon, and it has lower stats than it
Unlike Blade’s Signature LC, it has no bonus to crit rate which is what Arlan suffers from in terms of building

The Unreacheable Side

It's lowest here cuz its the most inaccessible because it only ever appears on a Blade banner, and at S1 you may or may not even want to use it
The max HP part of the Lightcone is useless, but extra crit rate is a massive help to Arlan in achieving the best possible crit rate to crit damage ratio
Only 24% damage is low in comparison to a Secret Vow but the higher base aftack buff from Blade compensates slightly
I wouldn't pull for Blade's LC for Arlan unless your willing to at least S2 i,, it only becomes Arlan's best option the higher Superimpositions you go as the increasing amounts if crit rate and damage closes the gap makes it better than both of them

Cavern Relics 4pc Longevous Disciple & 4pc Band of Sizzling thunder are his best

Runner up mention to 2 piece Band of Sizzling Thunder + 2 piece Musketeer of Wild Wheat
It’s 2pc Max HP is useless, but Longevous gives Arlan a 8% crit rate when he attacks, into 16% when he attacks for 2 turns, you can basically afford to keep this running at all times
Sizzling Thunder increases Lightning DMG% increase and increases his Attack stat, giving higher overall damage than Longevous Disciple, but harder to achieve a good Crit Rate value
Id honestly farm whichever one is better and more efficient for your account, but it seems Sizzling Thunder is gonna be his best to farm since it seems you also want at least a good 2 piece Purity Place for aventurine, but a good Messenger Traversing Hackerspace is prolly needed to get Bronya to the 161 speed, and also the fact that having 2 piece Lightning set plus random 1 piece of any set with good substats can work (you dont NEED to 4 pc sizzling thunder to get great damage out of arlan if you have other good pieces to use him on, you cant say the same for Longevous because its only useful at 4 pieces)

Planar Ornaments Sets

Rutilant Arena (best in slot)

Best in slot , 20% Damage increase on Skill is crazy
8% crit rate from this and another 8-16% from Longevous can make the 70% stronger too
Drops alongside Broken Keel, a really good relic slot and may be a best in slot for Aventurine too

Inert Salsatto

Arlan ult’s frequently because of his low 110 Energy Cost Ult but Rutilant Arena is the better option since his damage is pretty evenly split between his Skill and Ult unlike someone like Acheron whose damage is entirely back loaded into Ultimate
But admittedly, 50% crit rate deactivate its buff is much easier to achieve than 70% in rutilant
This set also drops alongside Belebog of the Architects, which may be Aventurine Is best in slot

Space Sealing Station

The main reason its ranked low because its kinda inefficient to farm cuz it drops with Fleet of Ageless, that set is good for healers but useless on Aventurine
Other than that, it performs slightly better than Inert Salsatto but behind Glamoth and Rutilant Arena

Glamoth

I'd honestly consider this Arlans worst viable set, if your planning to play Hypercarry Arlan
You need 160 speed to get its max damage value, but Arlan can afford to run attack boots over Speed boots due his true SP Neutrality heavily synergizing with Bronya’s SP negativity, and not only is getting to 160 speed a chore due to Arlan's lower than 5 star base speed stat and the amount of relic luck you need
to get that high, and even when you hit 160 speed, you do slightly less damage than a Rutilant Arena Arlan
So your left with 135 speed Arlan for a Sub DPS Arlan its viable and doable, but your slightly behind a Rutilant Arena (yea 70% can be challenging to hit too but certainly better than juggling Speed, Attack, Crit Rate and crit damage rolls on relics)
Still, it drops alongside the Penacony set which is an extremely powerful support set especially for supports like Tingyun running alongside same element DPS’ likeArlan

Stats to aim for

• Crit Rate or Crit Damage body piece (whichever gives you a better Crit Value)
• Speed Boots or Attack boots if your running Bronya
• Lightning or Attack% sphere
• Attack% Link Rope
• Crit Rate 60-70%+ crit rate if running Longevous, 70-80%+ if not

8 % from either Inert Salsatto or Rutilant Arena 16% from 2 stacks of Longevous Disciple plus giving you around a 90% chance to crit

• Crit damage 140% minimum
• Attack at least 2800 monimum
• Base Speed Arlan (102) if running Bronya, or 134/135 Speed Arlan for a Dual DPS Arlan comp and or no Bronya comp

Aim for the DPS trifecta of Crit Rate, Crit Damage and Attack, aim for a ratio of 2 : 1 ratio of Crit Damage to Crit Rate
Defense and Break effect is nice to have but dont build for it, HP is useless on Arlan

Hello. I told myself di ako magr-rant but I need to get this off my mind. I go to a catholic school, transferee ako (this year lang) so basically wala akong friends since ako lang lumipat. I'm in 11th grade :)
May naka-close akong friend and siya lang lagi kong kasama sa campus. Sa canteen, cr, and all, siya lang talaga kasama ko kasi sobrang introvert ko and hindi ko gusto vibes ng mga classmates ko. She recently celebrated her birthday last month, all girls kami don. Yung mga kasama is mga tropa nya sa school ever since JHS, I think.
One of the girls (F17) nung birthday nya nag-open up bigla ng sex life nya. 'Nawawala' na daw yung V nya ganon (Hindi ko kaya sabihin ulit yung mga sinabi nya). Nagpakita pa sya ng video nila ng guy na nasa bed, pero they're not doing anything. Friends lang daw sila non. Sobrang out of nowhere non kasi nag c-chill lang naman kasi kami and andon din mom nung celebrant sa tabi namen (nagluluto siya so di niya kami napapansin masyado). Hindi kasi ako sanay na pag-usapan yung gantong bagay since hindi ganto sa dati kong school. Very focused lang sa pag-aaral lang yung school ko dati. Syempre, naw-warshock ako sa topics nila. In-open up ko yun sa friend ko (yung celebrant) na hindi ako sanay sa gantong usapan kaya mananahimik na lang muna ako. Sinagot nya saken "Ganyan talaga sila lagi pag magkakasama".
A few days later, tinanggalan kami (SHS lang) ng school namen ng intrams kasi ang dami daw ng issue ng SHS. May nagsusuntukan, vape sa school grounds, FUBUs, and more. I was so nairita kasi first year ko sa school wala manlang akong na-experience na intrams. In-open up ko ulit yun sa friend ko, I told her "hindi ba sila nandidiri sa ginagawa nila?" tapos sinagot nya lang na "pagpasensyahan mo na HAHAHAHA", so I left her on delivered kasi I was so mad talaga.

I see a lot of people asking about how to build Aventurine, so here's a handy little guide, which consolidates a lot of advice I've seen/heard/given over the past few weeks. I mostly typed this up so I could link folks in various megathreads who have questions, but if there's anything to correct or comments folks wanna make, please feel free!

1. You can prefarm all his materials now.

After finishing the entirety of the 2.1 quest, the Preservation calyx unlocks, allowing you to prefarm his trace mats. Everything else (boss mat, weekly boss mat) is already in the game.

2. Can he solo sustain?

Yes. Mihoyo would not release a sustain character who cannot solo sustain.
This isn't really worth going into further - but in general, Aventurine has higher uptime on larger shields with more instances of shield application and party CC protection than Gepard, who already solo sustains just fine.

3. Light Cones

Aventurine has a lot of LC options, but in general the more Defense his LC gives him, the better. This can make Def cones like Day One Of My New Life outshine DPS cones like Destiny's Threads Forewoven when it comes to builds.
This is because until 4k Defense, Defense is Aventurine's absolute most important stat to build. Aventurine triple dips in his Defense - it is how his damage scales, it directly converts to Crit Rate, and it's what he uses for his shields.
If you cannot get a Def% Light Cone, you will probably have to invest more substats and possibly mainstats into Def%.
Light Cone choice depends on your build priority. As a very, very loose estimate though:
Tier 1. Signature Lightcone (Inherently Unjust Destiny)
Tier 2. Gepard Lightcone (Moment of Victory) = New gacha Light Cone (Concert For Two)
Tier 3. BP Light Cone (This Is Me)
Tier 4: Day One Of My New Life (March gacha LC) = Destiny's Threads Forewoven (new MoC LC if you can get 4k Def with it)
Tier 5: Trend Of The Universal Market (not recommended unless you are running him with Acheron or hypercarry Ratio and desperate for debuffs and not getting his Signature LC. Trend is not good for Aventurine personally because the base Def is lower than all other Preservation LCs which makes all of Aventurine's scalings worse)

4. Relic Stats

While there are "2 ways" to build Aventurine (subDPS vs pure sustain), most builds will sit somewhere in the middle. "Building for DPS" is building for sustain, and vice versa, until you hit 4k Def. That being said, if you're stuck with a 4 star Light Cone, you might be forced to run 3 Defense mainstat relics. If you're using a 5 star Light Cone, you'll probably be fine with 2 Defense mainstat relics. This makes 5 star Light Cone builds a little bit more flexible and easier to angle toward DPS.
I highly recommend checking out the Fribbels relic optimizer. It's where all the build cards posted on the sub comes from, and will help to priorize/tell you where you're at in regards to Defense, since base Def/Traces/LC is tricky to calculate out the exact Def% you need from subs otherwise.
Substat Priorities:
Def% (until 4k) > Spd (until 134 or your Speed breakpoint of choice) > Crit Damage = Crit Rate (focusing on a 1:2 Crit Ratio, taking his 48% Crit Rate conversion into consideration) > Extra Def% (his damage scaling stat) > Effect Res (always useful) > Anything Else
He does not scale off of Atk%. Don't give him Atk% pieces.
As a small note, building ~40% Effect Res on him essentially makes him immune to resistable debuffs and CC, which can be useful in pure sustain builds, but isn't generally worth focusing on in subDPS builds - thanks /sillylittlesushi for the note!
Boots
You should run Speed boots. Aventurine has a very high base Spd of 106 and Speed boots takes him to 131. With that, you only need 3 additional Spd from subs to hit the 134 breakpoint. Unlike Gepard, you can run Aventurine on a Speedless build without suffering too much, but there are 4 main reasons you want Speed:

1. To regenerate more SP for your party - he will typically be very SP positive, but may need to skill here and there if you aren't running him in a FUA comp or don't have his Defense maxed out, or aren't running 4pc Knights.
2. To skill when needed in a more timely fashion since he does not have 'emergency' shields/heals before E1
3. To refresh his FUA counter for his Talent in a FUA team. Since he can only take 3 FUA stacks per turn, the faster he is, the more FUAs add to his counter. This is only really applicable in Topaz teams atm, since she's the only one who could possibly generate more than 2 FUAs per turn on a regular basis.
4. More turns = more damage (from basics and from generating energy for ult, which increases party damage via his CD debuff and grants him Talent stacks)

If you can get enough Speed from substats to not need Speed boots, you can run Def% boots instead
Rope
Since Aventurine wants at least 2 Def mainstats, the rope should be one. There is an argument for running an ERR rope to potentially put him on a 3 turn ult rotation (with enemy hit + FUA RNG), but ultimately it isn't worth giving up 54% Def.
tl;dr, Def Rope
Chest vs Orb
If you have a 5 star LC, you get the luxury of deciding if you want to run Crit Damage chest + Def orb OR Def Chest + Img orb.
In general, run whichever combo gives you better substats. Note that if you aren't running him with a lot of sources of dmg% (Yukong, Ruan Mei, etc), Img% orb builds will be higher dps in a vacuum. You can get CD on your substats - you can't get dmg%. Still, the difference is minimal enough that you shouldn't beat yourself up over it.
If you use a crit chest, you want a Crit Damage chest unless you have an amazing Crit Rate chest + minimal Crit Rate on your other pieces. Aventurine gets 48 CR from his passive + 5 CR at base. With a CR chest, you're already hitting 85% CR before other relic set bonuses and you don't want to overcap. You're likely to be very short on Crit Damage for your crit ratio if you run Crit Rate chest.
If you have a 4 star LC and you can't get enough Def% substats to hit 4k, you're probably looking at Def Chest / Def Rope / Def Orb / Spd Boots.

5. Relic Sets

Aventurine is very flexible when it comes to sets. He has a ton of options!
Knight of Purity Palace/Def set 2pc can shore up some Def% if you're missing it. 4pc gives him stronger shields. Does he need stronger shields? Not really, but it can be good for extra insurance and for high Conundrum levels of Simulated Universe.
Duke/FUA set 2pc is one of the better 2pc options for him. Do not get 4pc, it does nothing for him.
Messenger set 2pc gives him 6.36 additional Speed, which he doesn't really need if he's running Speed boots, but can be good if you're trying to run Def% boots
WastelandeImaginary set 2pc gives him a nice dmg% boost
Pioneer set/Debuff 2pc gives a higher dmg% boost than Wastelander if the conditions are achieved (attacking a debuffed enemy). The 4pc is his best in slot damage-oriented set if he has his signature light cone or is E2
Rainbow 2pc is pretty strong on him since there's no 4pc set bonus he needs to function. Subs > Set bonus applies to Aventurine in particular since he's so hungry for stats.
Broken Keel planar is good for buffing his own effect res. He also meets the conditions for it automatically with his shields up, so he has permanent uptime on the 10% party Crit Damage no matter how few Effect Res substats you have.
Salsetto planar is his BIS for his personal damage, and is worthwhile to get for him since crit can be an overloaded stat on his teams and so investing in his own damage is generally more worthwhile than giving an additional 10 CD to the party.
Belobog planar is a good runner up in terms of generalist, since at base it does give him Def%. It's not worth building the EHR to get the additional Def%.
Sigonia planar, while thematically appropriate, will not be as good for him as Salsetto, but can be an alternative that isn't completely wasted on him if you get a good pair of relics while farming W9.

6. Should I bother building him for DPS?

Building him for Sustain is building him for DPS, with the exception of 4pc Knights. When you get him to 4k Defense, you're already halfway there! SubDPS is his niche as a limited sustain, so if you're not going to build him in that direction, it might be better for you to reevaluate if he's the best option for you (from a purely meta perspective - if you want him, go for it!)
A fully invested E0 Aventurine can do anywhere between 20k-100k damage per turn (calculating his basic, FUA, and ult), depending on his buffs. If that's worth it to you, then go for it!
That being said, if:

1. you're using him strictly to sustain for a hypercarry (so he gets no party buffs and you want him to be full SP positive)
2. you're running Trend Of The Universal Market or another 'bad' (for him) LC on him
3. you don't want to farm a lot for him

then you can consider just minimally investing, ie: 4 star LC, Def/Def/Def/Spd with 4pc Knights and Broken Keel. In this case, his subs aren't really important, so you can be in and out pretty quickly.
But otherwise, DPS Aven is the way to go. Be a cool kid and let his poker chips shred enemies.

I`m (23f) an archi student na graduating na, 2 months nalang. Thesis should be unique sa program ko and It's an individual book na nilalagay sa library, so sobrang daming sleepless nights and efforts para matapos yon. Before defense my friend na nakilala ko last year sa same department asked for my help on how to compute something and susundan nya daw flow ng computation ko sa specific thesis chapter, so I sent it kasi hindi nya daw ma gets noong ineexplain ko sa messenger.
Then, 2 days nalang defense na, so I expected na tapos na nya yung book nya, super chill na nya and sinabi nya na patingin ng format at may aalisin syang unnecessary parts. I asked what part and sabi nya lahat. I TRUSTED HER. Sinend ko kasi sino ba naman ang mag eexpect na hindi pa tapos ang book nya 2days left nalang?
After defense, nasali ako sa top 7 thesis sa section ko, not the highest but still I'm grateful for that, blood and tears ko yun considering na sobrang daming magaling sa section ko. Iba section nya, nag top 1 sya and I am soo proud of her. After namin gumawa ng book, required kami gawin na actual model yung nasa book namin which is design 10, the last design. She dmed me again asking for my cad file, may titignan lang daw syang sukat, nag tataka ako kasi why mo need makita kung na compute mo na sa book and TAPOS NA KAMI sa part na yun? Nag ka instinct ako to check her book na pinopost ng mga prof after all the submissions. Yung proposal ko ay complex na binubuo mng casino, hotel at wellness center. Ang proposal nya is tourism hotel. Na gulat ako kasi inalis nya lang yung casino and wellness center sa book ko and kinopya na lahat including the charts, flow introductory statement LIKE WTF?
Nakaka guilty kung isusumbong ko sya sa thesis council at possible na malate sya mag graduate because of me (it is a lot of work since mahirap yung part na kinopya nya sakin, months ko before matapos and nag gagawa pa kami model rn) , or worse ma drop pa. Gusto ko ibahin yung content na kinuha nya sakin, which is approximately 40-50% ng work nya ay plagiarized from my book. Ako ba yung gago kung mag susumbong ako, which is i'm sure may gagawin ang council, it happened na before.
Update:
Nasa student handbook ng university ko yung about plagiarism and mataas daw ng sanction for that. They gave me 2 choices

1. I rereport nila sa higher council and it can cause na ma dedelay sya ng 1 year sa graduation.
   
2. Pag usapan nalang inside and her grades will automatically become the lowest noong design 9. (75) Maaalis sya sa top dati, at hindi na sya pwede maging candidate sa top thesis for design 10. Need nya i comply yung bagong thesis book nya together with the model requirement for design 10. (pwede sya bumagsak sa design 10 if hindi nya ma c comply both)
   

Binigyan nila ako oras to think, pinapatawag nila yung nag plagiarized at ako together with the thesis council para pag usapan ang magiging sanction nya.

Signup/account creation CAPTCHA is clearly broken, as evidenced by bots flooding our communities using a new account for every single post

A significant problem as previously reported is that a portion of these posts cannot be detected or removed by Automod, bots, or post requirements, so there is no way to reliably block them. Probably due to the sheer volume of them, they keep triggering that bug and showing up hours later in our reports queue, without ever having been visible to us in any feeds.
Banning them is futile, as they immediately re-post with a fresh new account; despite banning several tens of thousands of them, we've not seen any picked up by the ban-evasion detection either.
The overwhelming rate of these suggests that something is seriously wrong with signup controls. A not insignificant number of communities appear to be completely buried in these posts. The site-wide anti-spam does eventually catch them, but only after about an hour, and the rate of reposting is fast enough to keep several of their posts continuously at the top of most of the communities they are targeting.
