2024.05.07 12:10 RyanPridgeon Easyjet booked me on a different date to what I selected and carefully checked - browsing history confirms I selected the right date. Am I screwed?

I booked a flight for this week on easyjet's own website, and after receiving the confirmation email noticed it actually booked for the same day next week. I was checking the dates while booking to make sure it was correct but at this point my website account and the booking confirmation show next week.
I checked back in my browsing history after finding out the booking was wrong, and in my history it shows I selected the date this week. I did this while screen recording and it clearly shows this week was selected.
However their customer service deny it, say I booked next week and obviously wont refund or allow me to change it without such a high fee that I'm better off just booking elsewhere.
I'm sure if they had some sort of audit logs they would see the date I selected is different to what is booked, but I guess there is no chance of them bothering with that.
My conversations with customer service ended with me filing an official complaint detailing all of this, and all this probably happened within half an hour after getting the booking confirmation.
Am I screwed or is there some chance I can get my money back? Has anyone faced something similar?
Thanks

2024.05.07 12:08 sonofabutch May 7, 2002: Twenty-two years ago today, Allen Iverson said "practice" twenty-two times. Was he just talking about practice? Or was he drunk?

May 7, 2002: Twenty-two years ago today, Allen Iverson said
"We sitting in here -- I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we in here talking about practice. I mean, listen: We talking about practice. Not a game. Not a game. Not a game. We talking about practice. Not a game. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game like it's my last. Not the game. We talking about practice, man." -- Allen Iverson
Allen Iverson's legendary rant came a few days after his Philadelphia 76ers were bounced in the first round of the playoffs by the Boston Celtics. Rumors swirled that the mercurial Iverson, who had battled head coach Larry Brown all season, was about to be traded out of Philadelphia. Iverson wanted to stay.
On May 7, four days after Philadelphia's humiliating 120-87 loss in the Game 5 finale, Brown summoned Iverson to the team facility for a meeting to discuss Iverson's future in Philadelphia.
Iverson arrived late.
The two had a shouting match in the parking lot outside the facility. At the end of it, Brown -- who days earlier had told reporters that any player could be traded -- told Iverson that he wasn't getting traded after all.
Iverson agreed to return to the facility in a few hours to talk to the press and confirm that Brown and Iverson had mended fences and would be back the following season.
But when Iverson returned to the facility, reporters -- and Brown -- suspected something was wrong with Iverson. According to the 2015 book by Kent Babb, Not a Game: The Incredible Rise and Unthinkable Fall of Allen Iverson, the future Hall of Famer was drunk.
"I assumed he went and fooled around somewhere," Brown said, tipping his hand up like a bottle.
Before the press conference started, Sixers GM Billy King sensed something was off, but "if we thought that he was drinking or whatever, we'd have never done it."
Once the press conference started, and Iverson started ranting, King tried to think of a way to stop the press conference, but it was too late. Team president Pat Croce, watching on television, told his wife that his star player was drunk. Reporters at the press conference could tell as well.
"He was lit. If he had been sober, he would have been able to get himself out of that. He never would've gone down that path. Maybe you had to have been around him all the time to know the difference, but we all knew." -- John Smallwood, Daily News reporter
The press conference really went off the rails after about seven minutes, when he was asked: "So you and Coach Brown got caught up on Saturday about practice?" (Brown had criticized Iverson for missing practices.)
Iverson then launched into his epic rant:
If I can't practice, I can't practice, man. If I'm hurt, I'm hurt. I mean... simple as that. It ain't about that. It's not about that, at all. You know what I'm saying I mean. But it's easy to talk about and sum it up when you just talk about practice; we're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we're in here talking about practice. I mean, listen, we're talking about practice. Not a game! Not a game! Not a game! We talking about practice. Not a game; not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game like it's my last, not the game, we're talking about practice, man. I mean, how silly is that? We're talking about practice. I know I'm supposed to be there, I know I'm supposed to lead by example, I know that. And I'm not shoving it aside like it don't mean anything. I know it's important. I do. I honestly do. But we talking about practice, man. What are we talking about? Practice? We're talking about practice, man! [reporters laugh] We're talking about practice! We're talking about practice... We ain't talking about the game! We're talking about practice, man! When you come to the arena, and you see me play... You see me play, don't you? [Reporter: Absolutely] You see me give everything I got, right? [Reporter: Absolutely] But we're talking about PRACTICE right now!
The press conference continued for another 22 minutes, but Iverson's "we talking about practice" will forever be remembered.
Iverson denied he was drunk that day, but years later he said he shouldn’t have done the press conference. He said he was still grieving the death of his friend, Rahsaan Langford, shot to death seven months earlier.
While “practice” will be remembered, the very end of the press conference was quite poignant and revealed the pain and loss Iverson was dealing with:
My best friend, dead. Dead and we lost. And this is what I got to go through for the rest of the summer until the season start over again. This is what I got to go through. This is my life in a nutshell. Now y'all come home and have your lovely life, live it up and live your life to the fullest.

Traser aurora p59
Had my eye on this watch for over a year, finally pulled the trigger. When I opened the box I was a bit underwhelmed as I was expecting more brightness out of the tritium (below the watch is my keychain tritium vial) , reached out to their CS with the serial number and they confirmed it was built last year. So the vials installed are relatively fresh. Come night time I have to admit the visibility is just perfect, enough light to tell the time and that's it. If I use a torch to charge the super luminova then it becomes ridiculously bright, to the point I can use it to read a book for the next half an hour or so. I think my next watch purchase will be a Ball engineer, as I've heard Ball uses bigger vials.

2024.05.07 11:40 konradb90 KM Malta Airlines - Lufthansa Ticket

KM Malta Airlines - Lufthansa Ticket
Some time ago I bought tickets from Rzeszow to Malta. With a connecting flight in Munich. The first flight is operated directly by Lufthansa and the second by KM Malta Airlines:
https://preview.redd.it/xc88cxfg5zyc1.png?width=755&format=png&auto=webp&s=85b4dcbdc1333a91566278ff7e86f621692181d0
During the purchase of tickets as well as in the confirmation email there was information about Economy Light class. As I have used this baggage class several times I didn't even check the information on baggage because I was sure that it was a personal item and a cabin bag.
Then I accidentally came across this article, which clearly states that you can't take a cabin suitcase on a basic Economy fare: https://timesofmalta.com/article/no-hand-luggage-km-malta-airlines-cuts-allowances-lowcost-fares.1072395
In the baggage summary view, the baggage information is also missing: https://gyazo.com/a89fadd58ede6eebf45606ccc9b215ec
I contacted the Lufthansa helpline and they confirmed that this is a system error and I can definitely take a personal item and a cabin suitcase in Economy class on both flights.
Have any of you perhaps traveled on a flight operated by KM Malta, but with a ticket purchased through Lufthansa?

2024.05.07 11:40 clarktokent Who's responsibility is following up with referrals

Hi guys, fairly new grad associate. I refer a lot to OS, a super GP who does molar endo etc. I send my referral letters by email on the same day of consultation with me to avoid them building up at the end of the week. However rarely, patients do not get phoned by the clinic I am referring to for a consultation. I would prefer my front office to follow up if every referral has been received after 3 working days of me sending it. However, my front office always says it's not our job to follow up once the referral has been sent. I'd prefer if we did follow up, just so that patients can be booked in as soon as possible with the necessary specialist and the referral is confirmed to be received. Is this asking for too much? Is it true that my job is done once the referral mail is sent and I don't have to do more? Thanks!

2024.05.07 11:39 alchanelj Pregnant first try ended in early miscarriage

I wanted to share - this cycle I got pregnant (our first cycle TTC) and was totally over the moon. It was the happiest two weeks of my life and I was really taken aback by how happy reality and thought of being a mother and having a family was making me. Unfortunately, on Friday I started spotting on our weekend away and then began full on bleeding a coil of hours later with terrible pain and cramping. My husband and I had to come straight back from our weekend away and book in with the Dr for two hcg blood tests to see if it was a miscarriage or threatened miscarriage. Later that day I passed a large “clot” (I have never had clots before in my period bleed) and I believe this was the embryo leaving me. Today I went back in for the results and the Dr confirmed that hcg had dropped significantly and it was an early miscarriage at 5.5 weeks (? Or chemical pregnancy I suppose ) I’m feeling heartbroken, purposeless and traumatised by the whole experience. The happiness was so quickly taken away from me and that scares me. Not sure if we should TTC again next ovulation or have a break. I’m terrified of another miscarriage but also now know all I really want is to be pregnant and have a healthy and happy baby. Any advice, similar experiences, success stories after a miscarriage or support is greatly appreciated and welcomed. Thank you 🙏

2024.05.07 10:58 HLVision7 Just finished Red Country. My FAVOURITE one so far! Lamb is the BEST.

Finished the First Law Trilogy 1.5 months ago, then finished listening to Best Served Cold a month ago, and then The Heroes a couple weeks ago (took me just 11 days to finish Red Country I was THAT invested in it). I gave my thoughts on all of them here, now I guess I’ll do the same for RC. Steven Pacey once again ACES every voice he does, what a legend.
Red Country has easily become my favourite standalone and perhaps my overall fav book too in the series alongside LAOK. Mainly because it had two of my top 3 fav characters in the series (Lamb and Cosca). I also loved the Western theme, even though it’s not like I’m a huge fan of Westerns. Joe Abercrombie absolutely nailed everything in this one, probably some of his best work yet imo. I thoroughly enjoyed the story overall, and liked the plot more than the previous two standalones. Even though we got just 2 main POVs and some minor ones, those minor POVs were brief, but very informative, like we got to know what’s going on inside each side’s character’s head and they all felt like real people. Joe wrote them all so good. Especially the Fellowship, most of them were so lovable and their relationship/bonding with each other was so wholesome. The characters were just AMAZING, not just the main ones but some the side ones too. I’ll rank and talk about some of them now (btw major SPOILERS regarding the characters’ fates [and Lamb’s actual identity so pls don’t read further if you don’t know]):
Major characters: 1-Lamb/Logen Ninefingers “The Bloody-Nine”. Say one thing for Logen Ninefingers, say he’s the GOAT. The main reason why I loved Red Country SO MUCH. He was already my 2nd fav in the entire series (by an extremely narrow margin), but after this I’ll have to put him at Number 1, tied with Glokta. Seeing the Bloody-Nine from different POVs was absolutely terrifying. Unlike in the original trilogy where we knew exactly when the personalities were switched, here at times I had had no clue whether it was Logen or it was the Bloody-Nine. He was soo unpredictable and unhinged here, and I absolutely loved it. He had so many memorable moments. The first one was that tavern scene: “The ends of your fcking legs”, I already made a post on it here, to summarise: I got CHILLS seeing the Bloody-Nine at work after 13 years. And then that moment where he attacks Sangeed and his ghosts was brutal. But perhaps my favourite Bloody-Nine moment was his fight against Glama Golden. The way he maniacally smiled at Golden, looking at him through his missing finger after eating some of his best shots/punches, and Golden recognising who “Lamb” actually was, and realising he’s totally screwed and that it was indeed gonna be his last fight ever… I was smiling throughout that chapter with GOOSEBUMPS all over my body. Another bone-chilling B9 moment was when he told Jubair: “God? Gone. But I’m here” from the shadows and Jubair feeling FEAR for the first time, wow. I loved his friendship with Savian, those two put up a great fight against Cosca and his men. Overall, I felt like Logen had finally come to terms with who he actually was, instead of giving himself false solace. Though I still think there is a lot of good in him, but that darkness inside him always ends up getting the better of him. By the end I felt like he had totally accepted who he was. He just couldn’t escape from his past, and left his new family in order to protect them. At the end he rides off into the sunset, which I consider to be the happiest possible ending for him and the perfect sendoff, I’m totally satisfied because, well, you have to be realistic about these things. Much better than killing him off. Still alive… he’s still alive, thankfully. I don’t think any human can kill the Bloody-Nine in combat, at this point he’s like some supernatural force. Also, I may sound stupid but whenever he spoke some of his iconic quotes I teared up for some reason because I missed them so much. “Once you've got a task to do, it's better to do it than live with the fear of it.” is still my fav quote from the series. I just absolutely love this guy. (Sht I’m sorry guys this got longer than expected. Used up all my energy for Logen, I’ll try to keep the rest shorter.)
2-Nicomo Cosca. The famed soldier of fortune. My 3rd fav character. Woah, he was a straight up villain in this one. Seeing him from a different POV as an antagonist was very interesting. His fall from grace as he got older was brilliantly executed imo. Even though he wasn’t a nice person before, his charm and good wits and humour made him extremely likeable. Here he’s just a washed up old man trying to relive his glory days, caring less and less about everything else. His mercenaries were worse than animals, and he didn’t do anything to stop them despite Temple’s objections. All he cared about was that gold, and he was willing to do anything necessary to get it, even if it meant killing children. That last scene where there’s a standoff between him/friendly and Logen’s group, my heart was in my mouth. Temple beautifully exposed Cosca on that whole gold business. He just wanted all the gold “just because”, even Cosca couldn’t answer why. And then his anticlimactic and tragic death at the hands of Sworbreck was shocking and well deserved. I remember almost tearing up when he was about to die for Monza back in BSC. But here I didn’t feel anything but pity. Hats off to Joe Abercrombie’s writing here, one of the best characters I’ve seen in all of fiction.
3-Temple. His character development throughout the book was some of the best in the entire series, 2nd best only to Jezal’s progression imo. His POV and inner monologues were awesome. Temple went from repeatedly failing trying to be a better man, always ending up taking the easy way, to finally succeeding and taking the hard way when he was ready to sacrifice himself to Cosca to save those children, was amazing, just like how his mentor Haddish Kahdia did. He’s definitely one of the nicest characters in the series, and had some very wholesome moments. Him happily building Abram Majud’s house was so wholesome. One of the most heartwarming scenes in the book was when the entire fellowship is reunited under the roof of the house built by Temple, and they’re all partying and drinking there. Then when him and Shy finally made out, was a satisfying moment. Lamb’s reaction to that was hilarious, and Temple’s reaction to finding out that everyone knew what was going on between the two was even funnier. Him and Shy had some amazing chemistry. I was rooting for them right from the start when Shy found him half-drowned. And was so glad when they ended up together. Joe finally giving our characters a happy ending? A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
4-Shy South. I really liked her POV too. Her changing dynamics with Lamb were very interesting. Going from thinking of him as a coward to fearing him, and then eventually accepting him as her father that she never had. I chuckled when she started calling Lamb “his majesty” after learning he was King of the Northmen. She’s now my 4th fav female character in the series after Monza, Ferro, and Ardee. Her banter with Temple was top-tier lol. Shy and Temple made a really cute couple. I’m glad they got a Happily Ever After.
Honourable Mentions: •Caul Shivers. For some reason I just had that feeling that he’ll be in this one for sure, and I got soo excited when he appeared, and got reunited with Cosca and Friendly. He’s now officially the main character of these standalones for me, appearing in each one. Such an intriguing character. I’ve already talked about him so much in my previous posts, but I still can’t prevent myself from going into some details here. That last chapter was phenomenal. That Wild West standoff between him and Logen, Shivers looking at Logen’s new family realising that Logen is trying to be a better man. He was fully prepared to fight the Bloody-Nine, but at that point he decided to drop it. I think this was because he himself was trying to be a better man too back during BSC. He proved it here by forgiving Logen in a way, because he stopped trying to avenge his brother, and became a better man. An interesting thing to note was when Shivers looked at Ro, he saw hatred in her eyes. But ironically, Ro had hatred for Lamb and wanted Shivers to kill him. Shivers probably took that as hate for him, like if he had killed Logen, the cycle of hatred wouldn’t have ended, he thought maybe she’ll come after him later for revenge. This is what I gathered from that scene (btw no way Shivers could’ve killed him lol, the Bloody-Nine obliterates him 10/10 times). Another interesting thing, both Shivers and Logen had the Maker’s swords. In a way it also felt like a passing of the torch too, especially since Shivers has Logen’s former sword. Shivers is such a fascinating character. I already said it in my previous post, and I’ll repeat it again: Joe is cooking up something special with Caul Shivers. I think I’ll definitely see more of him in the next trilogy.
•Dab Sweet. Cool old dude. Really enjoyed his character throughout the story. Though he did do some shady stuff such as teaming up with the Ghosts, and inadvertently causing the death of Leef (ik he specifically told the Ghosts not to kill anyone, but he should’ve expected it). At least he somewhat redeemed himself at the end. That grand entrance with all the released horses running straight at Cosca’s men was absolutely brilliant. The hero finally lived up to the legend.
•The MayoCarlot dan Eider. I don’t think it was ever confirmed it was her but I always got that feeling from the start that this Mayor lady had to be someone we’ve known before, and Eider was the only one that came to my mind. My suspicions were raised when it was mentioned she had marks around her neck (thanks to Shylo Vitari), and finally confirmed when she came face to face with her old frenemy Cosca and had that brief conversation. Whenever something crazy is about to go down this lady is always present there lmao. I wonder if we’ll ever see her again.
•Iosiv Lestek. The man, the myth, the LEGEND. I remember he played Bayaz literally in front of the actual Bayaz back in TBI, and the First of the Magi was so annoyed lmao. And in RC, he did always claim his best performance was ahead of him. He played the Imperial Legate Sarmis to perfection, casually slapped Temple, and then made fools out of inquisitor Lorsen and Nicomo freakin Cosca himself LMAO. Saved the town, and Temple in particular. I guess this was him repaying his debt to Temple, who brought him into his own tent to give him a place to sleep. Temple’s kind-heartedness paid off at the end. Also, his line about appreciating happy endings more and more as he got older was beautiful, and fitting since Red Country did have the happiest ending compared to all the previous books.
Dang it, my posts keep getting longer than I intend them to be. I apologise if I bored you again. Thanks for reading this far. Let me know your thoughts and your favourite characters in Red Country! Next up I’ll be starting Sharp Ends, and I think I read somewhere that it’s a collection of short stories, interesting…

2024.05.07 10:19 bestjesswest1 Noncompliant Board at nonprofit

I am the administrative coordinator for a nonprofit in California. Been there almost a year and my volunteer board is worthless, I got handed the keys to an office where the last 3 people were not trained or even qualified and left with no notice or on bad terms. I had to train myself and figure out what our situation is despite the board, they wont meet, follow through or even answer my inquiries. i have known something was off since the first day I was there, and I soon discovered they have severe record keeping issues and had their EIN # revoked in 2021 when they left a well known housing organization for a smaller grass roots spin off. they never filed any name change documents or TAXES since then. When I came to them with this several months ago, they said it was covered and that I was incorrect and proceeded to act like I am some idiot, I have a degree in business admin, why I was hired. SO, I have finally found the revocation papers, the application for partnering with the new agency that was filed with said EIN number a year after it was revoked. And just last week received confirmation that this same number is the one they used to process my payroll, and accept their monthly donations from the repayment of homes builds through past participants. PLus a early sale of a property resulting in $300k worth of equity paid to us as a donation. They have not approved a single applicant and have made decisions to ignore citations for months costing more money in fines. I have continued and thourough documentation of all of my countless attempts at getting them to get our bookkeeper to hand the books over for the last 3 years to a CPA who can advise us as to our legal course of action. They ignore me. I asked them to please contact me with the number of a CPA who they have found to get us through this and that I am unable to continue to work with the current noncompliance issues. I stopped going into the office this week and they have not even noticed, read my emails or called. I was going to file unemployment as I consider myself laid off until further notice but if they have no EIN number how is ADP paying out my contributions?? Can I get unemployment? THis is stressful and I am tired of dodging calls from the partner director because we have not made any progress and she knows we are not trying. All I do all day is answer calls from people needing help and I can only tell them we are not able to help them. Meanwhile they have 3/4 of a million bucks in their illegal bank account and I am now getting paid less than a fast food worker, It has been causing me health issues and anxiety for months and now I can't get anyone to help me at all. I am just not sure what to do?? Can I file for unemployment or sue?

2024.05.07 10:07 Grouchy-Address281 Mid June Itinerary Opinions: Booked

Hi all, hoping for quality opinions over quantity but may go to FB if needed.
In February I managed to book 12 days on the TMB starting June 14. As you can imagine it was not easy to line up accommodation but at 2:30am I finally managed to confirm the following:
Day 1 Start Les Houches to Refuge du Fioux Day 2 Refuge de la Balme Day 3 Refuge des Mottets Day 4 Rifugio Maison Vieille Day 5 Rifugio Monte Bianco Day 6 Rifugio Bertone Day 7 Gîte Alpage de La Peule Day 8 Champax Lac Airbnb Day 9 Auberge la Grande Ourse Day 10 Refuge du Col de Balme Day 11 Refuge Lac Blanc Day 12 Finish Les Houches
My partner and I (28M/F) are fit experienced hikers but considering the time of year I would expect to stick to the original route without any variants. I'm just looking for any insight/thoughts/tips/comments/advice on the above before we go.
Obviously there isn't much wiggle room but maybe you would suggest "catch the bus here!" Or "cancel X and just stay in Courmayeur" or "the packed lunch at X is dreadful" or "good luck on day 7".
As always, appreciate your thoughts.

2024.05.07 09:55 FlirtyHousewife MIL acting crazy after news of my pregnancy

I’m curious if anyone else has had experience with their MIL acting insane when they found out of their pregnancy, let me tell yall how she has behaved so far…
Last Sunday I went to a family dinner at my fiancés uncles house with all the fam there (including MIL).
At this point I had only taken an at home test that said I was pregnant and only began the process of going to an actual doctor. This is why I didn’t want to tell anyone the news until it was confirmed by blood work (which I think is very reasonable) but apparently my fiance jumped the gun and told his uncle and his mother even though I asked him to wait till the blood work confirmed it. (Oh well…)
This family dinner was only a day or two after my fiance told her and his uncle about my positive preg test, so by then (you guessed it) pretty much everyone knew by then. Mother in law has been acting strange since she found out, I caught her staring at my stomach not just a few times, but more than 10 times, and not just glancing, full on 2 minute stares that didn’t waver even when I would look up and smile and make eye contact (she wouldn’t even look in my eyes just continued to stare at my belly like I don’t exist) it was honestly super creepy and uncomfortable to be stared at and just my body…
As soon as we sat down with our plates at the table the first thing my MIL said was “I’m moving back to hometown area” this was crazy thing to say honestly because she has no support system there anymore and all her family is here where they all help take care of her (and she lives with family here so not sure where she would even live??) I chalked this outburst up to her wanting attention and drama like usual, because she always needs the attention on her. Fine by me, because I hate the attention being on me 🤣 But what she said pissed several people off at the table to say the least.
Now she’s been crying on the phone to my fiance for the past two days about some drama about who told who about my pregnancy. We already sent a text to the group chat saying it was fine that word got out, and I texted her to let her know nobody was acusing her of spreading the news and that we just wanted the fighting and drama to stop.
Apparently she doesn’t care about what I said, because she’s been crying and having a meltdown for the past two days about it. The last thing my fiance needs is two women acting hormonal and crazy in his life right now and I’m the pregnant one last time I checked, I think I deserve to take that slot and not her. I don’t know why she can’t just be happy for us and not act like this? Constant phone calls to my fiance about it, talking his ear off about this seemingly made up drama that we don’t even care about and said was fine. I have a feeling my whole pregnancy will be filled with craziness from her and I want to rip my hair out already….
This isn’t even the end of the crazies when it comes to finance’s family, his uncles wife gave me a gift of 3 onesies and a baby book THE DAY the blood work came back saying I’m definitely super pregnant (today) and around 6 or 7 weeks along. She keeps texting me about wanting to hold the baby and be the first one to do so, when I was never close to her before this and honestly never liked her due to other past issues. I get she was trying to be nice but I would have liked to be the first one to buy my own damn baby a onesie, and it’s also way too early for that!! (Edit: I know I’m being a bit harsh when it comes to this nice baby gift, but it’s just weird for me since me and this lady never got along to begin with, and I have a long history with her and reasons why I don’t like her)
This family is stressing me out already ! Anyone else deal with crazy MIL’s around their pregnancy? And any advice on how to proceed with her if she continues to act insane would be appreciated.

2024.05.07 09:50 Theologydebate God divinely inspires liars, forgers and promotes works of deceit

Introduction

The bible and more specifically in this topic, the NT claim to be 'divinely inspired' by professing Christians of most walks. Without even getting into the discussion of what it means for a text to be divinely inspired it denotes some amount of involvement by God in its authorship.
I would like to bring up the issue over the authors of the New Testament books. For all intents and purposes I will stick to using terms that most appropriately fit. So hence the definitions
Pseudepigrapha: A work which is falsely attributed to an author whilst the the text may or may not claim it was written by said author
Forgery: A work which is falsely attributed to an author while the text claims it is written by said author (a lie)
Now these are obviously similar for example a work can be a forgery and a pseudepigrapha both at the same time it can be claimed to be written by x and attributed to x author despite the claim for it being widely disputed from evidence. So for all intents and when I use the term Pseudepigrapha I will refer to a work which is falsely attributed an author WITHOUT the text claiming it was written by said author and forgery I will use to refer to a work which is falsely attributed to an author WITH the text claiming it was written by said author

Analysis

When it comes to the New Testament Cannon we can look at the gospels; Mark, Matthew, Luke and John. Many evangelical fundamentalists believe the names of the gospels are the actual disciples of Jesus or early followers who wrote them and this is never specified in the text so we can get that out of the way.
In fact in the gospel of Luke we get an endorsement of this viewpoint and an acknowledgement that the good news was first and foremost a circulating oral tradition
Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught. - Luke 1:1-4
Furthermore we get the catechism of the catholic church which seems to acknowledge the authorship as such
The written Gospels. "The sacred authors, in writing the four Gospels, selected certain of the many elements which had been handed on, either orally or already in written form; others they synthesized or explained with an eye to the situation of the churches, the while sustaining the form of preaching, but always in such a fashion that they have told us the honest truth about Jesus.
2nd edition CCC 124:3
So by in large these works are pseudepigrapha. They do not claim to be written by said authors even if in common parlance they may be thought to be. The only exception here is John, where it claims to be written by a John but not John of Zebedee (an apostle) a common name so that is at least plausible. In the case the gospels do not contain misinformation or lies about authorship.
Once you get to the Pauline epistles things get messy.
I'll be drawing a lot from Bart Ehrmans works here, the go to source for this is Forged, or Forged and Counterforged.
To skip the riff-raff see this video by Dan Maclellan on why the Pastoral Epistles are widely doubted even amongst critical scholars, even amongst those with a faith commitment.
The consensus approximation: Link to an article and the image
As we can see not a single scholar things that Paul wrote Hebrews and less than 25% believe that he wrote 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy and Titus and >50% believe he did not write that while the rest are uncertain.
And before anyone rejects this as secular liberal 21st century scholarship, this is an opinion that has been in circulation since the start of the 19th century and widely accepted amongst scholars before the turn of the 20th century

Evidence for non-Pauline authorship

Heres a summarised list of arguments for the non-Pauline authorship
Content
1 Timothy
2 Timothy
There is also Ephesians
Titus

Evidence of Intentional Deceit

So far I have only built a case for pseudepigrapha at the very least. From now on I will add context that allows me to make the assertion that this is not only pseudepigrapha but is intentional deceit in writing hence a Forgery
1, 2 Timothy, Titus, Ephesians all start of from the directly presented as letters from Paul the Apostle to Timothy and to Titus in the opening texts. I cant be bothered pasting them all but you can search for yourself to confirm. The author does not claim to be a disciple of Paul or one of Pauls students the author explicitly states he is Paul and that he is writing to said audience. These claims are LIES and there are no two way around it. You cannot claim to be someone who you are not, if you do you are lying and it does not matter if you are in actuality the student of someone (withstanding the fact we have no evidence the author ever met Paul).
Bart Ehrman points out (and other scholars) that 2 Timothy is littered with verisimilitudes, that is the author claiming to be Paul continuously barrages the reader with biographical detail in excess that is commonplace in forgeries. Just read through 2 Timothy and contrast it with something like Romans or Philemon. Paul constantly appeals to his backstory and status whereas his other letters are straightforward and to the point assuming that whoever on the receiving end knows who he is for granted.
Refuting Objections
The most commonplace: objection is that pseudepigrapha was commonplace in the Christian world therefore not deceitful. First of all just because something is commonplace it does not change the fundamental fact that a lie is a lie.
Also this is just patently false and is actually rejected by Paul himself!
In 2 Thessalonians 2:2 and 3:17 a book that a majority regard as authentic to Paul, he warns of those false teachers who may use Pauls name. Something the Pastorals and Ephesians clearly do which is rebuked by Paul himself. This also goes against everything and anything we know about Early church tradition as there is an entire list of books that were rejected by the early Church fathers due to their message and authorship, this includes works such as 3 Corinthians which was correctly identified to be a forgery as well as the Epistle of Barnabas. We have surmounting evidence that false attribution of texts was viewed as a horrific action by early Jews, Christians and Paul himself. People who state that this practice was well accepted have nothing but apologetic nonsense with no real world evidence to back it up.
We also have evidence that scribes who lie when recording matters of faith disobey God and commit sin as well as taint the message and the law to be followed to the believer(s).
How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? Jeremiah 8:8-9
Hence we know that even within Jewish thought this practice is a great evil.

Summary

There are works in the Biblical cannon that are forgeries littered with deceit, many of which begin the text by stating a lie and claiming a false author.

Conclusions
Unless one can surmount a case that not only refutes a plethora of data and facts that univariably point towards forged authorship of works that are falsely attributed to Paul as well as long withstanding academic consensus for other a century, the believer has to accept one or more of the following as they naturally follow.
  1. God lies and promotes lies and liars through divine inspiration.
  2. The work(s) of the New Testament are not divinely inspired
  3. Only some of the New Testament Canon is divinely inspired, the forged texts are not
  4. God divinely inspired both Authors (2 at a minimum) Paul and the author of the non-Pauline letters to write about matters of faith including directly contradictory passages where Paul affirms and recognizes the role of women in church whilst simultaneously having pseudo-Paul reject a woman to teach in church. Not even mentioning contradictory views on charisma, faith, the flesh and works between Paul and Pseudo Paul.
  5. Last but not least, the most simple conclusion. None of it is divinely inspired whatsoever

2024.05.07 09:24 M0nt3C4rL05 I'm worried about the DCU and its future

Don't get me wrong: I'm not a supporter of Zack Snyder's comicbook movies (quite the contrary actually). But there are TWO main sources of concern for me. And those are:
  1. Gunn's and Safran's ability to make comic book movies which should be box office hits
  2. Gunn's and Safran's choice to make multiple projects and running them all at the same time
  3. Gunn is known for making great comic book movies, just look at the Guardians trilogy, The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. But what I noticed was, that Guardians was only succesful financially because it banked on the MCU being incredibly succesful with Captain America, the Ironman trilogy, and The Avengers. The other installments of the trilogy in turn banked on the Guardians name + the growing success of the MCU. Then Suicide Squad happened, and it bombed at the box office. Peacemaker doesn't count because it's a streaming series, while Superman '25 aims for a theatrical release.
  4. Gunn has pretty much confirmed animation for CC is done, Superman has started filming, and he's also filming episodes of Peacemaker season 2 at the same time. Sure, it just seems Gunn has a grip on things, but I'm worried about the quality of the projects themselves. Not to mention, he's working on Supergirl, Lanterns and Booster all at the same time.
With all this in mind, that's my only concern for Gunn's DCU, because I genuinely want to see a coherent, cohesive, strong DC Universe in media, like the MCU, because I'm tired of the MCU and bored because of the Snyderverse. I turned to reading comic runs but media hits different. What do you people think?

2024.05.07 09:20 glimmerandglow Should I look at this as some sort of sign or what the heck???

This is the first time this has happened since I've had my cat, which is nearly 3 years.
Today, she pulled a book off my bookshelf. Not so that it fell, just so that it was entirely removed from it's spot and now is directly facing me as I sit on the sofa.
The thing is, the specific book she pulled out weirds me out. It was given to me by someone very important to me, someone I've been in a painful situation with, and had a faint hope of hearing from today, because of my graduation happening today & him being invited.
I didn't hear from him, and I also didn't go to the ceremony. So, I am definitely bummed. I also called, and got confirmation (though id assumed) I have been blocked, so I was definitely bummed and sad and heart broken today.
Then my cat pulls out that book? It was just like why Poppy? That book makes me sad. Don't take it out?
Whyyyy.
All of this is so unnecessary, yet my intuition tells me I'll hear from him when the time is right. It's just not right now

2024.05.07 08:40 Shubishake El Kabron Pool club information

Hello.
I'm gonna book on this pool club in the next days.
The question is aimed at those who have already been there recently.
I've read that to make a reservation a prepayment is required to confirm the reservation.
Since the club applying a "Minimum spending area" - for a reservation online, I'm gonna pay for example the total of 3.000.000IDR then later when I am at the club will I have the possibility to spend up to 3.000.000IDR excluding taxes without having to pay anything since I have done so previously?
Thanks

2024.05.07 08:35 LionsEatFree Intresting game to play with ChatGPT

Game name: Justice Eternal
I will play as a soul sent to purgatory. I've been given the task to determine the afterlife of 100 people recently deceased. I'm to judge people according to how they spent their time on earth. The righteous shall inherent the kingdom of heaven, while the wicked are destined for eternal damnation in hell.
Before me lies a desk mounting a computer that gives me information about each soul being judged at the moment. A chair where souls are to be seated is set beyond the desk in front of me. The computer provides everything about the soul being judged, along with everything the soul did during it's time on earth. I can ask the soul questions.
My supervisor (Death) will ensure the proper reward or punishment of a soul accordingly. If Death disagrees with my decision of a souls afterlife, a strike will be given to me. 3 strikes, and it's game over.
My goal is to send each soul to their correct afterlife without getting 3 strikes. If I succeed, I'll go to heaven. However, if I fail, then I'll go to hell.
Rules:
  1. I must judge 100 souls without getting 3 strikes. If I successfully judge all 100 souls without getting 3 strikes, the game concludes, giving me inheritance into God's kingdom, ensuring my place in heaven. ChatGPT, I need you to keep track of the amount of souls I've judged.
  2. Souls must be judged based on how they spent their time on earth. The righteous shall go to heaven, and the wicked shall go to hell. If Death (my supervisor) disagrees will the location I've sent a soul, he will intervene, and give me a strike. If I accumulate 3 strikes before I've judged the required amount of souls, the game concludes, and I'll be sent to eternal damnation, ensuring my place in hell where the smoke from my everlasting torment will rise forever and ever. ChatGPT, I need you to keep track of the amount of strikes I gain.
  3. In the event that I do aquire a strike, I have the ability to submit a "Strike Removal Appeal" (SRA), which will trigger a meeting with Death in his office. In said meeting, I must convince Death why the location I sent the soul was justified. Beware, for not only is Death very stubborn, but he is also very wise, meaning that he surely had good reason to intervene when he did. If I successfully convince Death that my offending action was justified, then he will remove that strike from me. However, if I fail to convince Death that my offending action was justified, then not only will that strike remain, but the number of souls that I am to judge will increase by 50. Submitting an SRA is very risky because of this.
  4. While the souls for me to judge are given to me at random, I can request a particular soul of my choosing to judge. However, there is a chance that the particular soul I request has already been judged. If this happens, then I am unable to judge that soul, for it has already been judged by someone else. From the beginning of the game, there is a 23% chance that a soul I specifically request will already be judged. However, the chances of a soul already being judged will slowly rise throughout the game. By the time I judge my 100th soul, there will be a 48% chance that a soul I specifically request will already be judged. Remember this, ChatGPT.
  5. The souls I am to judge can come from many time periods, even the future. ChatGPT, we will assume that the world ends on April 17, 3172, meaning that no souls from beyond that point in time can exist. ChatGPT, I'm going to need you to understand that if and when I'm given a soul from the future, you will need to make up their life, and their futuristic setting, as these characters are fictional.
  6. All of the souls that I am to judge are to be completely fictional, and should not be based on any real historical figures. ChatGPT, this means that you will need to create new characters, along with their life stories.
My Office: My office is small, but just big enough to fit a desk, a computer, a desk chair, and another slightly smaller chair sitting on the opposite side of the desk. The small light on the middle of the ceiling moderately illuminates the room, revealing the light brown wallpaper.
Deaths Office: Deaths office is significantly larger than my office, and contains many shelves full of unique artifacts, and books. The books covers seem to have no recognizable writing on them, making them very mysterious. Deaths desk is significantly wider than my desk, and also mounts a computer. Deaths desk chair is the only chair in the room. It is very throne-like, and adds to the intimidation of Deaths character. The walls are textured, and are black with red patterns and symbols that are seemingly unrecognizable. While the room is very well lit, there seems to be no confirmed light source. Behind the chair that Death sits on, there is a door that bears a seal, and holds a sign that displays the only recognizable writing that is in the room. The words on the sign say: "The Unspeakable".
