2024.05.29 03:55 Humble_Training9972 How I think they’ll do Sophie’s Story in S3 and S4 (very detailed prediction)
Why: Lady Cowper’s first-name is Araminta (tweeted by a hairdresser) and the show people said we’d see a Cowper bedroom in S3.
Im not sure but maybe she thinks she can avoid running into Cressida at the ball? This is why I think maybe the Cowper’s won’t attend.
Why: He’d probably find comfort in the fact that he doesn’t recognize her and she doesn’t recognize him. Of course, her pure joy would also enchant him :)
Why: A teaser for part 2 (that I happened to find I swear I’m not obsessed lol) emphasizes the clock striking midnight, and Eloise threatens to expose Pen to Collin if she doesn’t admit it by midnight so I think Pen will faint as Sophie runs away. Here’s the link but it’s spoiler-y: https://youtu.be/HO6SwAnQlMc?feature=shared

Atlanta United FC Key Players
Tactical AnalysisInter Miami CFInter Miami typically lines up in a 4-3-3 formation, emphasizing possession-based football. With Messi orchestrating the play from the right wing, Higuaín leading the line, and Matuidi anchoring the midfield, they have a balanced approach. Their full-backs, often pushing high up the pitch, provide width and support in attack. This aggressive style, however, can leave them vulnerable to counter-attacks.Atlanta United FCAtlanta United, on the other hand, prefers a 3-5-2 formation, focusing on quick transitions and exploiting the flanks. Martínez and Barco form a potent attacking duo, with the wing-backs providing width and support. Robinson's presence in the back three ensures defensive solidity. Atlanta's strategy will likely involve soaking up pressure and hitting Inter Miami on the break.Odds and Betting InsightsThe odds provided by DraftKings paint a clear picture of the expectations for this match. Inter Miami CF is the heavy favorite with a price of 1.42, while Atlanta United FC is the underdog at 6.0. The draw is priced at 5.0. Perfect conditions for a high-tempo game of football. The pleasant weather should favor Inter Miami's possession-based style, allowing them to control the game and dictate the pace.PredictionBased on the current form, player statistics, head-to-head record, and odds, it is hard to look past Inter Miami CF as the likely winners of this match. Their star-studded lineup, led by Lionel Messi, combined with their recent dominance over Atlanta United FC, makes them the clear favorites. While Atlanta United has the potential to spring a surprise, the odds are heavily stacked against them.Final Score PredictionInter Miami CF 3 - 1 Atlanta United FCInter Miami's attacking prowess, coupled with Atlanta's defensive vulnerabilities, suggests a comfortable win for the home side. Expect Messi to be at the heart of everything good for Inter Miami, possibly getting on the scoresheet himself. ConclusionIn conclusion, while football is inherently unpredictable, all signs point towards an Inter Miami CF victory in this encounter. Their superior squad, favorable head-to-head record, and the confidence of the bookmakers make them the logical choice. However, as always, the beauty of football lies in its unpredictability, and Atlanta United FC will be hoping to defy the odds and pull off an upset. So, whether you're a die-hard fan, a casual observer, or just here for the witty commentary, enjoy the game, and may the best team win! 2024.05.29 01:22 GeometryDash_Gamer ROTI Characters Worst to Best
Previous posts: TDI, TDA, WT submitted by GeometryDash_Gamer to Totaldrama [link] [comments] Note (will delete later): I'm really tired rn and want to do some other stuff, so I'll respond to more comments later ROTI Character Ranking 13: Staci (My Great Great Grandpa Invented Better First Boots) - Out of all my least favorites throughout each season, Staci is the least offensive as a character designed to be an annoying throwaway first boot, which speaks volumes about the rest of this cast. But it doesn't mean I have to like her. On top of having a grating voice, I find her to be a very lazy character. And the existence of Island Ezekiel proves that Total Drama is capable of creating more nuanced and three-dimensional first boots. She did provide some funny reactions from others though 12: Anne Maria (Heart Beneath the Tan) - Anne Maria is a character I found annoying in hindsight but has grown on me since. Despite having some of the same flaws that I really look down on Justin for, Anne Maria’s flaws are made far more tolerable and utilized better with her rivalry with Jo. She has some pretty funny moments and has a surprisingly more likable personality than what it initially seems. But I wish she got expanded on a bit more outside of her role in the Mike and Zoey love triangle. While not bad, the plot didn't do her a ton of favors for me and even brought out her less likable qualities. She acted very petty towards Zoey, and I don't think canon portrayed her any better or worse than what was warranted. Her elimination was unfortunate though 11: Mike (Multiple Personality Traits) - For how controversial he is, he was pretty good this season. Putting aside the questionable premise behind him ignoring his doctor's orders, his MPD was handled better this season and treated more as a legitimately serious issue for him. And while I don’t find him the most entertaining, he is definitely far from bland. He served as a surprisingly good catalyst for drama, and his flaws actually got utilized in an interesting way. And while he is probably the most in the wrong during the Love Triangle, you can easily sympathize with his motivations. Zoke was actually wholesome and healthy here. And it was nice seeing Mike get accepted for his disorder and learn from his mistakes. He also has some surprisingly good one-liners and was quick to sus out Scott. Plus you gotta appreciate all the times he saves Zoey 10: Jo (The Cutthroat Tomboy) - At her best she’s great, fantastic even. From her general demeanor coupled with her array of zingers, her juicy rivalries, and even some occasions of big-braining the challenges, Jo’s a fun character with a lot to like. She also had some nice depth with her secret girly side, even yielding some funny moments. However, there were two episodes that showed her to be a complete dumbass, from her performance in episode 4 (not-to-mention her hypocrisy towards Brick), to betraying her only ally for no reason (episode 9). While stupidity is not always a bad thing, it felt contradictory to Jo’s character and just didn’t do her any favors for me. All things considered, she’s a good but flawed character 9: Lightning (Maximum Physical, Minimum Brain Power) - He's pretty entertaining with some especially hilarious moments. But there's not a ton that appeals to me beyond that. While his physical prowess is really good, he didn't really have an exceptional challenge performance to back it up. I also think Jo would've been a better finalist than him. But his placement was pretty harmless, all things considered. With that said, I think he's better off losing since winning would reward his dad's behavior. Speaking of which, I really would've liked to see his background with his dad get expanded on 8: Dawn (The Cute Psychic) - At one point, I criticized Dawn for having unexplained unrealistic abilities that didn’t fit in with the Total Drama universe. But looking back, I don’t actually care about that. Despite only lasting for five episodes, Dawn left a pretty great impression on me. She has a nice and very likable personality. Her gimmick is unique, served as a great plot device to flesh out other characters, and even provided some surprisingly funny moments. Though it's not like she's too perfect either. Not only did she creep others out multiple times, but her tendency to just see the good in others prevented her from sussing out Scott earlier. And as for utilization, she helped B communicate his ideas to the team, which played a part in them winning. And she served as a good catalyst for Scott's run as a villain. Overall, Dawn is a great pre-merge boot, and people need to calm down about her being "overrated" or "underrated" 7: B (The Man of Swag) - Sure the dude doesn't talk. But he pulled some of the coolest feats in challenges, all the while exuding a cool and confident aura. Similar to Dawn, he was another great early boot, and Scott getting him out early was a good move as he would've steam-rolled the competition otherwise. His scream at the end was also funny, and you gotta give him plus points for his drip 6: Sam (The Pro Gamer) - While I don’t find him the most charming, he makes for a great underdog character with a great personality to back it up. He is very self-aware and humble, which makes him both funny and likable. He took things slow with Dakota and stayed true to his authentic self around her, which eventually won over her love and appreciation. Speaking of which, Samkota is also a very well-done relationship with great build-up and great jokes. And while I'm not the biggest fan of Dakota's turn into a monster, it carries some amusing irony in that it changes who the bigger and smaller person in the relationship is 5: Dakota (The Biggest Thing Ever) - Dakota is a character I slept on at first. I found her rather whiny and annoying with her lack of participation in challenges. But overtime, she really grew on me. On top of having a unique reason to join the competition, she has one of the most complex personalities in the cast with some great development to back it up. And like I said with Sam, Samkota is a great relationship that complements her development well. Dakotazoid was very unfortunate and unneeded, and seeing her in a dumbed down state was just hard to watch. But even then, she had some very badass moments and saved others from mutant creatures multiple times 4: Scott (The Scheming Dirtbag) - Another one of the better villains in the series, this guy is a fantastic blend of comedic and threatening. He had a versatile set of humor, whether it was his ruthless and cunning demeanor, his various quips towards others, or his confessionals that utilized pain-magnet humor in a far more creative way during his plotting. Coupled with this, he had a surprisingly effective strategy that got rid of some of the big threats early, all the while knowing how to exploit people's flaws. And can I just say, his strategy was not stupid. Being a part of a losing team was a great way to make himself not come off as a threat in the merge. And even if he didn't totally succeed in having a lot of influence by then, he was still able to adapt in other ways. This was shown no better than how he exploited the friendship trio, from gaining Zoey’s trust, to taking advantage of Cameron and Mike’s flaws. Unfortunately, some of his schemes weren't without missteps in execution. And from a personal standpoint, his episode 9 iteration made him villainous in a way that was far more aggravating than fun to watch. Though I think his schemes made sense conceptually, with most of his missteps being hiccups rather than character-ruining moments, akin to making a careless mistake on a math problem you otherwise knew how to do. The dude was also crafty and knew how to utilize his newfound shark-tooth. On that topic, his rivalry with Fang was really fun on his end. I found his karma pretty over-the-top, but it doesn't make me like him any less and just made me feel bad for him to a degree. While he isn’t without flaws and doesn’t quite reach the same highs as Alejandro for me, he still remained one of the most entertaining characters of the season and is a fantastic villain in his own right 3: Brick (I Salute You) - From top-notch humor, fantastic interactions (most notably Jo), to his general work-ethic, Brick is simply a chad and fills all the boxes in what makes a character good. But best yet, he's a true hero and an all-around admirable person. He also has depth and subversive elements to his character, most notably his goofy side which you don’t usually expect in someone with his background. He even sacrificed his position in the game to save the friendship trio, rightfully earning their salutes. And above all, he's just a blast to have on screen. Despite not making it too far, not a single moment of screen-time was wasted with Brick. While he may not be my personal favorite, he rightfully earns his spot as a universally-liked character 2: Cameron (From a Bubble Boy to an Elite Badass) - While he has a rough start and has a couple of cheesy moments, I thoroughly enjoy Cameron's run in his debut season. Despite having the physical strength of a fly, the dude proved himself indispensable to the team multiple times, pulling a handful of big-brain strats to help complete challenges more efficiently. He was also the first one to figure Mike's MPD out and help him with it, making for an excellent friendship. On that topic, he had a pretty good social game and did a great job of staying under the radar, but also knew when allies were worth keeping or not. This all culminated in his legendary performance in the finale, which was both impressive and solidified him as a true hero and gigachad. Despite entertainment-value not being his strongest suit, he has other endearing qualities to him, from his fascination with everything he sees and experiences for the first time in the outside world, to his friendships and rivalries with various people (my personal favorite being his friendship with Zoey). Bottom-line, Cameron is simply a feel-good character with a lot of really cool moments and an incredibly satisfying arc, making for one of the most deserving finalists in the series and one of my personal favorite protagonists 1: Zoey (The Girl Next Door) - It isn’t until after Mike’s elimination that she peaks. And when she does, she has some of the best moments in the series. But even before, I found her highly endearing. Her passive tendencies are relatable and have a lot of comedic moments surrounding them. She is a good blend of being kind all-the-while not being too perfect. Despite this, she was never straight-up unlikable. She is also easy to feel bad for with how much she goes through, from the love triangle mess to her kindness being taken advantage of by multiple people. This all culminated in her becoming more bitter and vengeful in the later episodes, leading to Commando Zoey. While rather corny at times, Commando Zoey is such a cool and badass climax to her being pushed around throughout the season. Plus, her arc comes in full-circle with a very satisfying and wholesome resolution. Her friendship with Cameron and her rivalry with Scott are both some of my personal favorite interactions in the series, and I think a good chunk of the merge episodes really exemplify why (especially episode 10). I also really like Zoke this season. On Zoey’s end, it was nice seeing her accept Mike for his disorder. And even putting aside my opinion on her, I’d argue she acted the most reasonably out of the three during the Love Triangle and did the most to actually try to fix the situation. It’s also worth noting, the friendship trio all share common ground in growing up isolated, which makes the three of them bonding all the sweeter. Same deal as Cameron, while I wouldn’t call her the most deep or well-written, Zoey is just such a feel-good character backed with a satisfying arc with a fantastic resolution. She also had some surprisingly nuanced lines and good quips here and there (mainly towards people who actually deserved it). And above all else, she’s absolutely adorable. For all these reasons and more, Zoey is the best part of this season for me. Though with this lineup, you can make a case for almost any of the characters |
2024.05.28 23:27 GeometryDash_Gamer WT Characters Worst to Best
Other posts: TDI, TDA submitted by GeometryDash_Gamer to Totaldrama [link] [comments] WT Character Ranking 18: Ezekiel (The Feral Abomination) - He's not consistently insufferable, but I don't particularly find his plot great either. Some of the ways he kept staying on the plane were dumb. Then it all led to him showing up in the finale when no one asked, and screwing Heather out of her hard-earned money. I can probably find some things I kind of like about Feral Zeke if I'm optimistic, such as his "Where's Waldo?" appearances, leading to Heather's cameo in Revenge of the Island, along with the ominous atmosphere and neat subtext he provides. But it doesn't change the fact that he is responsible for by far the most unfunny and insulting "joke" in the entire series. Overall, a huge downgrade from what I once considered a highly intriguing character 17: Sierra (Stalkerlicious) - Sierra is a character with some top tier highs intertwined with some of the most infuriating lows in the series. And while I'm not one to try to "cancel" her, I just simply don't like watching her harass Cody. It drags out for 20+ episodes before having any progression, and takes up a majority of her screen time. And the fact Cody is pretty helpless and that no one tries to do anything about it, certainly doesn't help. With that said, she gets better in the last few episodes (though even then not without a few hiccups) and has plenty to like about her. But sadly, her negatives outweigh her positives for me, especially when I look at how she's handled narratively 16: Leshawna (The Beatdown None of us Needed) - Her elimination episode sucks for her as well as the aftermath of it. Leshawna arguably had some reasons to be skeptical of Heather. But even then, the timing of her slapping Heather was extremely wack and made her look brain-dead, with her lack of regret afterwards not helping her case. She also feels less likable than her Island and Action counterparts in general. She still has some good moments, but she's largely disappointing compared to her first two seasons 15: Izzy (Wackiness Gone Wrong) - She has a few hilarious jokes here and there. But her character gets vastly reduced to being "random and quirky". It especially doesn't help that her elimination episode assassinates her character and makes her utterly hateable for no reason. Though Brainzilla was really cool and had some amusing dialect. I find her pretty interchangeable with Leshawna in that she has better highs, but her character assassination in her elimination episode is far worse. Again, very disappointing compared to her first two seasons though 14: DJ (The Hapless Tree-Hugger) - On one hand, the animal curse is terrible conceptually and tortures the guy for no reason, all the while making him unpleasant to watch (and occasionally pathetic). The fact he could've quit just makes how long he stays in the competition even more forced. I also can't decide whether the implications of his curse being a placebo effect make his plot more interesting, or even more aggravating over how long it drags out. But on the other hand, I can't bring myself to dislike him because of how bad I feel for him. And what's even more sad is that it only takes looking back at the Action special to realize the dude needed the money more than anyone else. Plus, credit where it's due, DJ's plot and general presence enhanced Aleheather really well with how they both tried to utilize his situation and fight for an alliance with him, even providing Alejandro with one of his coolest schemes yet. His friendship with Lindsay was also really sweet, and his concern for all the animals he hurt shows how wholesome he is as a person. In a way, I don't think DJ really got worse as much as he just got dealt a bad hand. Dude definitely deserved better 13: Blaineley (The Underutilized Drama Queen) - She played a good role in the aftermaths and served as a great foil to Geoff, on top of being surprisingly funny at times. Though her run in the competition is disappointing to say the least. On top of happening very late, she doesn't get utilized as much as she could've, and gets dumbed down immensely in her elimination episode. I think she had a surprising amount of potential as a unique drama-causing antagonist given the type of connections she had, and it’s a shame it wasn’t executed better. Her elimination speech was funny though 12: Gwen (The Fallen Hero) - She's not very relevant before the Love Triangle, and I don't care much about her friendship with Courtney. She also takes an unlikable turn during the Love Triangle, especially after the kiss gets exposed. Though she received ample consequences, and I don't believe she was victimized by the narrative in the slightest, despite the unfortunate direction taken with her. Plus, you can understand her motivations in hindsight, especially given Duncan kind of dragged her into the mess. She’s fine and has her good moments. And she’s overall pretty harmless. It’s just that this season does her the least favors as far as positives go, and she didn’t have much purpose beyond being a plot-device for the Love Triangle. But as a fellow drummer who also hates singing, she gets some extra brownie points 11: Harold (Chad Skills: The Afterglow) - He's still pretty funny per usual. Though his elimination is a little questionable with an especially cringy exit to boot. While I think his ego spiraling out of control was an interesting direction to take him, this alongside him quitting could've worked so much better had he been a finalist in Action. Thankfully he gets utilized far better in the aftermaths. And “Baby” absolutely slaps IMO. But I can only rank him so high this season 10: Bridgette (The Cool Surfer Chick) - I think she is quite better than a lot of people give her credit for. Putting aside her terrible and cringy apology song, which even then had the right intentions behind it, she has a nice plot of making an understandable mistake, feeling immensely bad and making up for it. Beyond that, she has some really cool moments that enhance her better qualities well, and I'd argue sticks out more consistently than her Island iteration. Her role in the aftermaths was also fun, and it especially helps that the aftermaths here are far superior to Action. Despite her lackluster game performance, Bridgette retains her likability and gets expanded on surprisingly well 9: Tyler (The Clumsy Jock with a Heart of Gold) - He has his funny moments even if his brand of humor doesn't generally appeal to me. His loyalty and patience to Lindsay is especially admirable, and their relationship after Lindsay finally remembers him is really cute. He also plays a relatively important role as Alejandro's catalyst for the Love Triangle drama, and we especially get to see what a great guy he is during said plot. On a side note, I really like that the writers weren't afraid to give him a more douchey side (mainly his antics with Cody). But despite this, he's still a good person at heart 8: Noah (The Robbed Raltable King) - Honestly, his humor has started to wear thin on me. With that said, he still has some especially great lines. I also really like his progression from Island of becoming somewhat less anti-social, and contributing to his team more. He even pulls some big-brain strats which I always appreciate. And his performance in his elimination episode was especially really good, as well as him and Owen's friendship. It's a shame he got screwed over by Team Amazon plot armor and a bullshit elimination to boot. Despite this, I enjoyed his time in World Tour 7: Courtney (The Temperamental Diva) - Ironically, I actually like her more in the second half of World Tour than the first. Even then, she still has her entertaining moments and has an AMAZING singing voice. But throughout the first half, she was more of a background character and wasn't all that memorable, and arguably doesn’t get held accountable enough for her actions in…Action, despite not actually doing anything to atone for them. Playing devil's advocate, Courtney was more low-key during her time on the Amazons and didn't go out of her way to be a pain for no reason, unlike Heather. But the fact that Gwen and Courtney's friendship just revolves around them hating Heather, is inadvertently detrimental to Heather's arc in a way. The one positive I can give her and Gwen's friendship is her using her acquired CIT skills to help heal Gwen's sunburnt hand. With that said, she's far more entertaining during the Love triangle. Her unbridled rage provides great comedy, and her and Duncan's mutual hate feud is even better here than in Action. Plus, even if I side with Duncan, I can sympathize with her to a degree. While you can argue the Love Triangle did not do a ton of favors in actually progressing her character, it's not like she was really changing for the better beforehand 6: Cody (Still a Nice Guy) - While more flawed than his Island iteration, he has more highs. I don't really mind his unlikable moments. But even putting that aside, he's just barely utilized for a good portion of his screen time, and there are a period of episodes in the middle of World Tour where he is barely relevant at all. On the plus side, I really liked how he tried to play the mediator to his team at times, and his sleazy antics provided for some very funny moments. I also felt terrible for him with anything involving Sierra. And he's especially really good in his last few episodes, whether it be his surprisingly good friendship with Heather, the insight we get into his outside life, and even his interactions with Sierra at times. He also hand-crafted a hot-air balloon out of a pile of scraps, and played an especially great role as one of Heather's helpers in the finale. I do wish him fully getting over Gwen was capitalized on better though. To sum it up, he has a very good beginning, a rougher middle, but gets especially really good in the last few episodes, which I think makes his time in World Tour worth it for the most part. He is also a good mix of being a floater, but making some brief attempts to strategize here and there (that, and the decent social game that goes with it), which I think makes him a pretty fitting 3rd placer 5: Lindsay (The Loveable Sweetheart) - Is it just me, or does Lindsay just feel even more likable than usual during her time in World Tour? She isn't super remarkable at first, but even then has a few funny jokes. Though as her time in the competition progresses, she becomes an absolute sweetheart who you just can't help but root for. She's also a surprisingly good team leader and ironically does a better job than in Action. Her friendship with DJ is adorable. Admittedly, the Tyler gag wasn't particularly funny or made sense. But her finally remembering him was a really cute moment. And afterwards, she really proves to care about him, which is most notable in the 3rd aftermath. Her performance in her elimination episode was especially amazing, and it's a shame she got screwed over the way she did. Easily the most wholesome character of the season, and by far the best pre-merger 4: Owen (The Ultimate Glow-up) - I get why some people don't like him going as far as he does for the third time. But I think as a result, it gets overlooked how much Owen substantially improves compared to his first two seasons. Not only is the writers' favoritism toward him toned down, but his actual character is also better. His gross-out humor is made less prevalent than in the first two seasons, in favor of focusing more on his goofy and childlike tendencies. And even the fart jokes he does have are utilized more creatively and just arguably funnier in general. His one-sided rivalry with "Al" is one of the funniest parts of the season, and he was one of the very few characters to actually get under his skin in his own way, albeit completely unintentionally. He also made for a great foil later on with his wholesome personality, as the season took a darker turn. And he came in absolutely clutch for his team in "Sweden Sour" in one of the coolest ways possible. Also, call my sense of humor twisted, but his "Babe Olympics" comment is hilarious. It also makes him more interesting and further establishes that despite being good-hearted, he isn’t the brightest tool in the shed and doesn't always appreciate the gravity behind certain actions (which was also prevalent in previous seasons). I can go into more depth on all his individual moments and instances he made me laugh. But overall, Owen is a fantastic presence and my favorite out of the comic reliefs this season. And I think he contributed to the season in a surprising amount of ways that only Owen can 3: Duncan (King Duncan’s Spicy Return) - I honestly couldn't care less about Duncan being a dick to Courtney, given the existence of Action. The one issue I have with him is how his actions affect Gwuncan as a couple, which proved to have a lot of potential to be a really good endgame relationship had they formed in a better way. But outside of that, Duncan is the GOAT this season. And honestly, I find him more likable and less flawed than in Action. He was one of the highlights of the first episode, from his ending line in "Come Fly With Us", to his general distaste for singing which provided some comedic moments (and is actually something I relate to personally). He quit the competition with style, then returned and ignited one of the most compelling conflicts in the series, where each side had understandable motivations for their actions. This is helped by the fact we get to see the perspective of multiple other characters on the situation, fleshing out their personal values. The Love Triangle also did wonders in the gameplay-department as we saw multiple people try to strategize and twist the situation in their favor. Sure, a lot of characters involved are not the nicest people in the world. But I think that's what makes World Tour so appealing. Sometimes, I like watching characters be selfish assholes, especially in a competition-driven setting. And unlike the Island finale or a lot of the Gwent drama, it's done in a way that made logical sense and didn’t reek of favoritism on any sides. While Duncan's nice side is less prevalent than before, he remains just as charming and entertaining as ever, and he still has some nice interactions with people he genuinely cares about. His return also helps deviate from the first half of World Tour which mainly consisted of comic relief characters and Alejandro cleverly eliminating characters one-by-one. Their rivalry is engaging, has funny moments, and is arguably one of the most unique conflicts in the series. And while Alejandro was a step ahead and ultimately came out on top, you still get the sense that Duncan was one of the very few competitors to actually challenge him. Individually, he also pulled some really cool feats in challenges and was at some of his most strategically involved here. To make a longer story short, the dude was able to go from being at high risk of elimination, to making it to the final 5 and being the closest Alejandro had to an equal partner (besides Heather). Then there’s also his mutual hate-feud with Courtney which is even funnier and less flawed here than in Action. Plus, it just so happens that both of these interactions were integrated with each-other really well and even enhanced the Aleheather plotline. There is not a single dull moment with Duncan this season. And while there is room for improvement, I think Duncan’s return made World Tour far better 2: Alejandro (The Final Boss of Gen One) - Villains are not usually a strong suit in Total Drama. Though above them all stands Alejandro. This guy is an amalgamation of virtually every quality from past villains, but better. To put it simply, his approach is multifaceted, unpredictable, and really well-executed. But at the same time, he isn't completely perfect, from his feelings for Heather holding him back, his aversion to being called "Al", and his schemes not always hitting the mark (episode 23 being a prime example). His amazing gameplay is complemented well with him being arguably the most pragmatic out of all the villains, which makes him likable despite his heinous actions. And his backstory with his brother adds a layer of sympathy to him (even if it was brought up kind of awkwardly). Unfortunately, his schemes with Bridgette and Leshawna were poorly written on his end, and in Leshawna's case, dragged her down significantly. But beyond that, he's just such a fun antagonist to watch. And regardless of how much you actually care about strategy in TD, you get legitimately invested in his gameplay. He takes every approach into consideration instead of being a one-trick pony, and he rarely relies on luck to get by despite some very occasional lucky breaks. But at the same time, he's not too boring either and has his share of funny moments. This is most noteworthy with his relationship with Heather, which is universally loved for good reason. Despite being the main antagonist, I am completely fine with Alejandro being a finalist, and I would go as far as to say the dude is a legitimately deserving winner. And I think his position as a finalist really capitalizes well on the narrative World Tour had that being nice doesn't always get you the furthest, and sometimes you have to play dirtier to reach a goal 1: Heather (The Legacy of a Queen Bee) - With that said, Heather winning is just simply better from a narrative standpoint. She has an amazing transition from being a villain to an anti-hero, creating for a great subtle redemption that humanizes her but doesn't completely deviate from her original personality. Though it's not like she was solely less mean for ulterior motives involving the game either, as she had some altruistically kind moments and even tried to help some people with their personal issues. Her friendship with Cody is surprisingly cute, and I get the sense that she genuinely cared about him to a degree. And in a way, her arc also comes full-circle in the form of Harold and Cody being her helpers. Not only this, but she vastly improves her gameplay. She actually tries to treat her allies nicely this time, makes more genuine attempts to stay in the game rather than just relying on luck, and performs especially well in challenges. But above all else, there are very few competitors with as much drive and determination as her, which wound up being the biggest factor in why she got as far as she did despite her circumstances. Granted, her first half of World Tour was rough and leaves a lot to be desired. She was especially unlikable in a bad way throughout episodes 4 and 8, and in a way that did her no favors to her position on the team. But she gets far better in the second half, having arguably one of the best performances in the series. And despite Alejandro being a consistently better game-player, Heather wound up being the only one able to take him down, and through the same trick he used on many others, making his downfall incredibly juicy and poetic. Speaking of which, Aleheather in general is an amazing love-hate relationship with many funny moments, and one of the most interesting with how much their interactions get intertwined with their strategic gameplay. Plus, there is arguably some really cool subtext and parallels behind their plot. Regardless of how you feel about other aspects of World Tour, I feel like the writers put a ton of their eggs into Aleheather, and I think it paid off immensely. Beyond this, Heather just has a ton of everything in what makes a Total Drama character good, from entertainment-value, funny moments, and fantastic interactions with others. Despite her flaws, she is consistently enjoyable and has some of the best highs in the series. Sadly, Feral Zeke came in and ruined everything. But it doesn’t sour how good everything else leading up to it was |

2024.05.28 18:17 GeometryDash_Gamer TDA Characters Worst to Best
Check out my TDI post if you haven't already submitted by GeometryDash_Gamer to Totaldrama [link] [comments] Disclaimer: While I don't emphasize it throughout, this is all based off my personal opinion. I figured this is especially good to reiterate for the sake of my writeup for my bottom entry here... TDA Character Ranking 15: Justin (Beta Alejandro) - I can write an essay on how much this loser absolutely grinds my gears. But to put it simply, Justin goes against everything I value or strive to be. He constantly jerks off to himself and gets away with being deadweight to his team on multiple occasions because “mUh MoD3l1nG c0NtRacT”. Then once his looks start to wear thin, he turns into an insufferable crybaby who can’t shut up about how ugly he is. Any semblance of progression he has goes nowhere. And his elimination episode reduces him to a pathetic simp as he takes a liking to Courtney and proceeds to kiss her ass with “chivalry” in the cringiest ways possible. Even I’ll admit his elimination episode was kind of insulting towards him. But it’s not like he was actually a good villain or gameplayer beforehand. In fact, the one thing he does, beyond his cheap and one-note strategy, catalyzes one of the worst plots in the series and solely drags multiple characters down. He honestly should’ve been a contender for elimination in episode 9 (along with Owen or Izzy). But apparently it was Lindsay…all for the horrible crime of being “too bossy”. Credit where it's due, he's occasionally funny and had a few cool or crafty moments here and there. But generally, I just find him incredibly mediocre in charisma and entertainment-value. And any decent moments he has are not enough to make up for how much he sucks balls 90% of the time and makes me want to pull my hair out with anything involving his role in the Gwent breakup. All-in-all, Justin is an unfunny cornball who had no business lasting as long as he did 14: Trent (Nein) - Action Trent is in a weird spot for me in that he has better highs but simultaneously worse lows than in Island. I would honestly consider him to be at some of his best during his time in the game. All things considered, the Gwent breakup itself was...not horrible, and even gave Trent more character than the plank of wood that was his Island iteration. However, it wasn't all that well-written or paced. Though ironically, the aftermaths and the special are what really does its best to make me hate him. I can go more into depth on the numerous ways he, and by extension this mindfuck of a plot, frustrates me thoroughly. But to put it short, Trent this season is proof that being more interesting doesn't always make you a better character. And the only reason he doesn't take the bottom spot of this ranking is "at least he isn't Justin" 13: Beth (Tell and Do Not Show) - Beth is very similar to Trent in that her Action incarnation has better highs but also worse lows than her Island incarnation. At her best, she is pretty adorkable and has some surprisingly nuanced and off-beat humor. She pulled some especially cool feats in challenges from time to time and has a less flawed performance than Duncan. But she is not very consistently relevant for a finalist, and her underdog arc is half-baked yet again, and was done better by other characters. Also not helping is that she has some dips into being very unlikable for someone we are generally supposed to see as a nice girl, even if you don't care about the Brady plot. And even putting aside the ethical problems with it, I just found the Brady plot really annoying with no purpose of existing, especially when it took screentime from what could’ve been used to actually show Beth learning facts about the other contestants, instead of the finale just establishing that it happened off-screen. I will say, her dynamic with Duncan in the finale was surprisingly wholesome. But sadly, her negatives outweigh her positives for me. Not the worst finalist the series has to offer though 12: Owen (Proof That Moles are Ugly) - On one hand, I think Owen's good episodes outweigh his bad episodes in terms of quantity. Though I don't know what it is, but he just absolutely sucked in both of his elimination episodes, yielding a very bad last impression. Even besides this, he had some other brief dips into being annoying and looked pretty bad during the Gwent breakup (though that applies to all of the Grips tbf). His first elimination episode consists of him being a complete hindrance to his team due to his inability to stop eating, only to still not be voted off because he was apparently "everyone's friend". And while his mole plot was interesting in theory, it arguably contributed to the eliminations of the two fan-favorite finalists of Action in a way, and had an especially sour and anticlimactic resolution, only to never be touched on afterwards. On the plus side, he has some ESPECIALLY amazing comedy, arguably better than Island, and might even be one of the funniest characters of the season for me. But a good ending is very important for a character. And Owen sadly fails at that…two different times, yielding a disappointing character 11: Bridgette (A Dip Into Meatriding Territory) - She isn’t devoid of moments I liked. But I really hate how she talked down to Gwen without caring about her point of view, all-the-while dick-riding Trent. And when you think about it, she was kind of the one who sparked the Gwen hate-train. While I like her and Geoff's role in setting up the aftermaths, the only Action aftermath episode I actually liked is the 3rd one. On the plus side, she has a handful of entertaining moments, and I find horny Gidgette surprisingly funny. It’s also nice seeing her set Geoff straight. While the Gwen stuff really irked me, it thankfully doesn’t take up her entire character 10: Geoff (The Rise and Fall of Captain Hollywood) - While not designed to be that serious or paced meticulously, his arc was pretty interesting and a cool take on how fame can sometimes corrupt people. And on a personal level, I appreciate him being one of the very few people to side with Gwen in the aftermaths. But unfortunately, the aftermaths in general had a garbage interpretation on the Gwent breakup, and Geoff's attempts to defend Gwen is no exception to this. Not helping is that Geoff’s attempts to defend Gwen also consisted of some bizarre leaps in logic, mainly involving him unnecessarily tearing Trent down over details that were not relevant to why they actually broke up. And while the Island finale already soured him and Gwen’s friendship, the second aftermath only made it even worse, and it just wasn't fun to watch. Though besides that, he’s also pretty entertaining at times 9: DJ (A Test of Conscience) - Despite lasting less episodes than Island DJ, he gets utilized better. His storyline involving his alliance with Chef is short but sweet, and has a satisfying ending. He still has some nice interactions, and is surprisingly funny sometimes. Also, plus points for being one of the few people sensible enough to stick by Gwen’s side 8: Leshawna (A Lie Too Far) - I find Leshawna pretty interchangeable here with her Island incarnation. Some of her highs in Island edge out in the ‘juiciness’ factor, though Action actually fleshes out her morals more instead of just repeatedly making her the obvious good guy. But somehow, I found her a bit cringy at times during her spa arc. And while not as bad as its Island iteration, Lesharold is kind of hit-or-miss. Their dynamic has funny moments, and Leshawna looking out for and standing up to Harold was great. But I wish we had a clear reason as to why she is hesitant about being in a relationship with him. It also doesn't help that her gameplay yielded some pretty questionable decisions. With that said, episode 8 is easily her at her best. I also felt bad for her getting the Gwen treatment in episode 13. Speaking of which… 7: Gwen (The Victim of Cancel Culture) - While not as remarkable as her Island iteration, she is still fun and mostly retains her personality. Unfortunately, she is involved in the Gwent breakup which once again sucks absolute donkey balls. On her end, she also isn't exempt from being poorly written and got absolutely dumbed down with anything involving the Grips. However, I think she had a perfectly valid reason for the breakup itself and handled it reasonably. The amount of backlash she got in-universe for no other reason than "Trent is such a nice guy" was absolutely ridiculous and made me feel bad for her. But hey, at least her feud with Heather in the special was especially juicy 6: Izzy (Humanizing the Wack-job) - Yet another character who I think gets expanded on surprisingly well from their Island iteration. Her alter-egos provided for some funny moments, and her strat of using Escope as a way to return to the game was 200 IQ. But I think the best part about her is how much “Masters of Disasters” humanizes her, from her randomly being the “straight-man” of her team, to her show of genuine emotion towards Owen when he got injured. Her comedy was also one of the saving graces of the first aftermath 5: Lindsay (From a Sheep to a Goat) - When she’s good, she’s really good, and I think we all know why. Though her storyline of proving herself wasn’t as consistently prevalent as it could've been, and her being stuck on a team with all-around mediocre entertainment-value didn’t help. Nonetheless, she is just as endearing as ever and has a handful of hilarious and iconic moments, all the while expanding well on what parts of Island established. Although I just want to point out, it isn’t fair to criticize Beth for being a bad friend to Lindsay without acknowledging Lindsay’s flaws (most notably “Full Metal Drama”). Though otherwise, there are quite a bit of nuances that make me prefer Lindsay to Beth. With that said, her elimination was unfortunate, and even if she wasn’t a finalist, she deserved better 4: Duncan (The Challenge Buff) - Yeah, he isn’t an ideal finalist and had a pretty crappy stroke of luck in the merge. He also had some dips into being genuinely unlikable. But his highs are still really good. He powered through challenges effortlessly in the pre-merge and the finale. And even in the merge, he blindsided Leshawna through the help of Courtney, effectively helping him narrowly escape elimination. On top of this, he had a lot of great dynamics with others, most notably his fun and surprisingly sweet friendship with Gwen, his fun toxic relationship with Courtney, and his rivalry with Harold. Speaking of which, his dynamic with Harold is one of the more nuanced conflicts in the series with a lot of comedic moments, and I really wish we saw more of them growing to respect each-other, and better yet, both of them being in the finale. I really want to like Duncan more than I do, but as far as both his likability and his journey as a finalist goes, he had some pretty rough moments. And the storylines he had did not end as gracefully as they could've. Though at the same time, it's still Duncan, so there will always be plenty to love about him, even in his weaker seasons 3: Heather (The Queen of Dynamics) - A huge improvement from Island Heather despite not being as prominent. As the most hated cast member, Heather was forced to cooperate on her team more. There were even times where she was correct about something, only for people to doubt her. Gwen's elimination episode kind of served as an 'underdog arc' for Heather in a way, despite the terrible circumstances surrounding Gwen's characterization. Beyond this, she has some especially amazing dynamics, her frenemy relationship with Harold being my personal favorite. And while I wish it got expanded on more, what we got in "Ocean's Eight and Nine" was especially gold, and the clip from the third Aftermath was adorable, so I can't complain too much. On top of being a fantastic setup to her World Tour run, she also made for a surprisingly good comic relief at times 2: Courtney (The Supreme Bad Bitch) - While controversial, I find Courtney to be at her best here. On top of being a great logical progression from what went down in Island, I found her consistently hilarious and entertaining with her unrelenting rage and Karen-antics. Though on top of this, I think this season fleshes her out the most as she has multiple confessionals that give insight on her ways of thinking as well as her habits, which on many levels you just can’t help but admire. I found her reactions to the Grips’ incompetence upon her debut episode, especially funny and satisfying. She was also an absolute beast in challenges, both physically and mentally, which was one of the main factors in getting her far in the game. And while not the most effective in theory, her brute-force approach made her a unique antagonist. She did also occasionally use other tactics besides her general approach. And when she did, I ironically found it far more believable than the majority of the schemes from past antagonists. While I get why people argue she kind of took away from Duncan's challenge-performance, I think this could've easily been fixed by giving Duncan at least one of her wins in the merge, and showing more of them as a strategic power-couple that takes measures to evade elimination despite not being well-liked. We did get to see that in "Super Herold", where she got Harold to vote for Leshawna instead of his rival, through convincing that actually made sense, subsequently saving Duncan from elimination. Speaking of which, Duncney is also funny and had a progression that made sense. Admittedly, she was occasionally unlikable in a bad way, and her downfall was pretty weak and got followed up with Duncney undeservingly getting back together. But I still thoroughly enjoyed everything else about her, and find her to be a FAR better antagonist than Justin 1: Harold (Chad Skills: The Climax) - I was already drawn to Harold from the getgo. But Action Harold is everything I already loved about him in Island, but on steroids and with even more screen-time. He's relatable, he's sympathetic, and he's most certainly rootable. But to top it off, the dude makes for a great comic relief all the while not making it his only purpose. Not only that, but the dude is a true hero as he saved the entire cast from drowning through his acquired skills from "Magic Steve's Magic Camp", and the use of his trusty bendy straws. And even besides that, he continued to prove himself and show off his diverse and unconventional set of talents, and did it more frequently than Lindsay. As I said before, his friendship with Heather is one of my personal favorites in the series. I also cannot emphasize enough how good him and Duncan's rivalry is, but it's especially fantastic on his end as we get to see him grow even more of a backbone (even through the help of Duncan himself at one point) and stand up to Duncan more directly. His biggest flaw by far is that he didn't make the finals alongside Duncan. But no disappointing and anti-climactic elimination can ruin everything else I liked about him. And even then, he made arguably one of the most interesting contributions to the finale with his "Hole in the Wall" challenge idea. On top of being the best part of the season, he's easily up there as one of the best characters in the series. And while I don't believe in dick-riding, I genuinely believe we could all benefit from trying to be more like Harold |

2024.05.28 03:25 Athenaaalikespizza Piece I wrote defending the lost turnabout (completely unironic, genuine love here. It’s in the body text)
I value smaller entries in media. Sometimes I want to watch some ninjago or ninja turtles without having to deal with how long a season is, in a similar light, sometimes I want an ace attorney case I can hop in and play. This is my basis for loving trial only ace attorney episodes in general as a concept submitted by Athenaaalikespizza to AceAttorney [link] [comments] I think what makes lost so great is just kinda perfectly encapsulating everything I love about ace attorney in about 45 minutes, it has some really good contradictions with the glove, name and neck (fun fact you can still write with a broken neck depending on the situation lol) Thematically, it’s a great tie in to what comes later in the game, being a physical representation via amnesia of what he mentally goes through in 2-4 The humor is top notch, with Wellington’s rants, maggeys luck, Phoenix not knowing what the Fuck is happening and calling out this world and him for being kinda insane, and gumshoes crush Surprisingly, at least imo, it also nailed some drama bits quite well. First time I played Wellington reversing the trial genuinely had me on the edge of my seat, as did the “remembering who I am scene”. There’s also the very beginning where amnesiac Phoenix is objecting, which genuinely, is one of my favorite moments in the series, not only is it surface level hype, but it also feels like a perfect explanation of how ace attorney gameplay makes you feel, this is comparable to the 6-1 moment, Phoenix has a similar powerful objection at the start for defending ahlbi, but that one’s more about Phoenix himself, this one reigns in on the feeling of contradictions Speaking of amnesiac Phoenix, I honestly love this character. Not only does it make for some really good comedic potential, it’s also a really unique dynamic for veterans to follow and be entertained by, whilst newcomers also get a well executed excuse to relearn mechanics. I also like the self contained arc of Phoenix slowly beginning to fight for Justice and all he stands for even without knowing who he is, which I know is sorta subtext, but i do truly think it says stuff about Phoenix as a character, it’s like his brain is hard wired to be as helpful as possible to a fault I’ve seen it mentioned people calling it a failed 1-1 clone but honestly I think 1-1 is the garbage failure, dull bland and uninteresting, lost turnabout is what I wish first turnabout was |
