Taking ADHD Medication Abroad for a month?

2024.05.19 17:42 ch3ri3_ Taking ADHD Medication Abroad for a month?

Hi, I have a question about going to Greece with my medication. I am happy for any insight on this since I have researched for a while and did not find a definite answer, I submitted this same thread on the adhd but only got a "check with embassy" and downvoted, which was discouraging.
I am travelling in 2 months time to Greece on holiday for a month from the UK, and I currently take 36mg of Concerta XL. I am aware methylphenidate is a controlled substance, but I am unsure of what I need to do in terms of certificates or letters ETC. I have searched around although read so many answers so I thought to ask here.
I have a checklist of things to do so I was wondering maybe any insight on this, what to expect, what documents I need to take with me into security etc would be great, I apologize if this has been asked before though I am still quite anxious.

2024.05.19 17:41 skillach Medical Certificate

Have been on 3 monthly Medical exemption certificates for 1 year. Applied for disability pension in March this year, still waiting for outcome. Just received letter from Centrelink saying my current Medical exemption expires in 4 days and have to meet job requirements. I thought I was exempt from that whilst waiting for disability application decision?

2024.05.19 17:38 ThatSpicyMeal Lowered car questions

Lowered car questions
Hey everyone, I lowered my civic many years ago. About 2 1/4 inch drop. I have adjustable upper control arms and adjustable rear arms as well, both skunk2 brand. Running FF type 1 coilovers.
The bushings in one my front upper arms are starting to fail causing clunking noise. I don’t have the time to change out the bushings myself anymore. I took my car to a local shop and they’re hesitant to change them out A due to the difficulty there might be removing the bushings and B the chances of the other bushings failing in the future. They recommend replacing my upper control arms in the front.
I’m considering going back to OEM type upper control arms, either local NAPA brand or Moog. Because tbh I’m not too thrilled with skunk2 arms, since I installed them back in 2016, they make my ride noisy. I always hear a creaking noise going over speed bumps for example. Possibly due to the bushings not having enough lubricant when I initially installed them.
When I get my alignments, my camber isn’t adjusted anymore, I only get them to fix the toe so my tires don’t get eaten up. I run slight negative camber, I don’t have my fenders rolled so the negative camber is set just enough so I don’t scrape my fenders as I take corners.
I’m thinking the need for a camber kit isn’t necessary. I don’t do anything crazy in my DD, I don’t race and I don’t track, so is it practical to go back to OE upper control arms? Would the only way to find out is to do that, get my alignment, and see if the wheels can still get moved around enough?
Would you guys replace the worn bushing? Or get new control arms? If new arms, any brands you recommend? I plan to keep my car for another 10 years if possible so quality is important at this stage.
Posted is my height of coilovers and most recent alignment specs.

2024.05.19 17:35 blujaffa Getting into C41 developing from B&W

I've become fairly confident with B&W developing at home, can get good results every time or at least good enough for me. In the interest of money saving how easy is C41 developing to start when I have the essentially for black and white film. Apart from a sous vide machine for temp control is there anything else colour needs?
Any chemical recommendations? Id rather buy chemicals individually than those basic colour kits you can find. Is there a standard developer like D76 for example?

2024.05.19 17:35 AntsyBoarder 6 week old is CONSTANTLY hungry?!

My 6 week old baby seems to ALWAYS be hungry and I’m starting to feel like something is wrong?
For reference, he was born at 8lbs 10oz and is now 13 lbs 1oz. We saw the pediatrician at 2 weeks old and since he was already up past his birth weight and doing well, she said she didn’t need to see him again until 6 weeks, so we are back at the end of the week, so we haven’t been able to address these concerns with a doctor yet but definitely will, just want to gauge if I’m overreacting or not.
Our baby was born a hungry boy. He started out eating 2oz every 2 hours but by 6 days our pediatrician had bumped him up to 3oz and then by 2 weeks she bumped him up to 4oz per feed. She said that would last him 3ish hours, but by 4 weeks, he was eating 4oz every 1.5-2 hours without spitting up. Now at 6 weeks, we’ve bumped him up to 5-6oz per feeding, but he’s still eating constantly. He wakes up almost hour through the night to feed.
For example, this morning he woke up at 7am and we gave him 5oz, then at 8am he had 3oz, at 9:30 he had another 2oz and at 10:30 he had another 5oz. He displays hunger cues and cries before we feed him, we aren’t just doing it automatically. He doesn’t spit up or display signs of being uncomfortable after eating.
I was reading babies around his age should be consuming 2.5oz per pound of body weight each day which would put him around 33oz/day, but now by only 10:30am he’s already had almost half his days recommended amount.
Like I said, he doesn’t seem uncomfortable and he’s very alert and not lethargic and doesn’t spit up, so it would seem like he’s okay, this just seems like a crazy amount to be eating given both our doctors recs and guidelines we’ve read. Should I be concerned?

2024.05.19 17:34 ChinggisHan People who have done advanced parole multiple times for work reasons

Hey guys! So I made it back into the United States from a work trip to London via advanced parole! The side benefit of having an entry with inspection is amazing of course and just traveling out of the country for the first time in 22 years was just something special! I highly recommend if anyone can do it, to do it! Especially if you don’t have legal entry. Doing it now before the next election is critical imo.
I had another post where I described my timeline and experience. One thing I’d add is you will need to have nerves of steel when coming back. Everyone’s experiences are different but for me, the airline I was using refused to let me board until I had to call my company’s lawyer who then had to get the director of passenger operations from JFK to call the airline to validate the document.
This honestly scared me off from doing advanced parole ever again. But now I got put on another project that needs me to attend regular calls with the Japanese team of 2 clients and a Hong Kong team of another client. So I began thinking this might be a great opportunity for me to visit Tokyo to either meet them in person or at least be in the same timezone for a couple weeks where we can have a few dedicated sessions and really hammer out the project.
So for people who’ve done advanced parole multiple times, especially through work, I wanted to get your thoughts and experiences. And had some questions.
  1. How long did your advanced parole take? Mine was surprisingly fast. biometrics in October 2023 and my original advanced parole approved at the end of December. I never received that one so I had to do an emergency request to not jeopardize my trip.
  2. How long was yours issued for? They told me daca recipients only get single entry for one month.
  3. Were you questioned or had any issues on your return home?
  4. Did you get your employer to cover the fees? Or did you pay out of pocket. I had my employer cover it the first time mainly to add more credibility to my case. That this is truly for work. Does it weaken your case if you apply by yourself and pay for it? Or do you just need the letter from the employer? Mainly cuz my Boss will not approve paying for this again due to limited budget.
  5. Do you have any tips for explaining to airlines how you’re able to return to the United States? The airline questioned my document and basically said it was not legitimate due to them not being familiar with it and USCIS made a really bad typo in the body (United Stales lol). If I do this myself, I will not have the company lawyer who can pull strings again at JFK. Unless I try to get the contact info of the person who talked to the airline and confirm if he can help me.
Thanks!

2024.05.19 17:32 Fraxolo Please help me with my first mini pc

Hi, I discovered recently mini pcs and I think they're the perfect solution for my small room but I can't decide which one to get and how much money should I invest. The first option that was recommended to me was the mac mini m2 at 579 euro, but later I found out that macs have some issues with monitor at qhd and 4k resolution, moreover it is not compatible with many games, for example genshin impact. Is there a mini pc at that price range that could run genshin impact well (even at full hd 60 fps). Or is gaming not worth it on a mini pc and I should just buy one of those on aliexpress with n100 and 12/16 ram drr5 ? Are these fine for basic chrome and office usage in 4k?

2024.05.19 17:30 NWASicarius Cosmic Insight is a lot stronger than what most might realize

Let me preface this post by stating I am making this on my phone, so my formatting will probably be hideous. I am sorry. I appreciate any of you who still choose to read through my post and add your own thoughts on the topic. Now, let's get started on why I made this post.
You may often see inspiration tree recommended as either your primary or (more likely) your secondary tree. Oftentimes you will see 'cosmic insight' suggested. You may opt to change it, if you are unaware why it is so strong. You may leave it, but not understand why you take it. You might just autopilot and not really care. Regardless, if you are someone who likes the concept of strategizing in league, this post is for you.
Now, let's discuss what cosmic insight offers you:
18 summoner spell haste 10 item haste
These aren't exactly flashy, right? Especially when you compare them to other tree's third row/tier. Summoner spell haste is already great. It has good synergy with lucidity boots, too. I am not too concerned about explaining the value of it in this post. You can go to the league Fandom website and see how much it will lower your summoner spell CDs, and then you can draw your own conclusions from there. What I really wanted to have a discussion about is the second line (item haste). This works with actives and passives that have CDs (i.e. An active passive such as Zhonyas will have a lower CD if you take cosmic insight. A passive that has a CD such as Luden's companion will also have a lower CD if you take cosmic insight). OK, so you may be thinking 'so what?' Well, let's use the aforementioned Luden's companion as our primary example below.
Luden's companion has a baseline CD of 12 seconds. Every 12 seconds, you get your 6 charges. However, when you take cosmic insight, you lower that CD to just under 11 seconds (10.91 to be exact). It might not seem like much, but think about skirmishes. Think about extended teamfights. Think about the trades during standoffs around an important objective that spawns. Heck, think about it over the course of an entire game. It all adds up more than you might realize. Just like how the balance team will sometimes add or takeaway 5 AD from a champion, and then said champion's winrate will fluctuate X% as a result. Most might see that tiny change and think 'that doesn't do much', but they would mistaken. Obviously, depending on your build, cosmic insight's usefulness will fluctuate. If you are playing Malzahar, for example, then cosmic insight probably isn't worth it. You probably won't even have any items that can utilize it.
Finally, with all of this said, let me tell you which items (meaning if you build these items, you should heavily consider taking cosmic insight) gain a substantial amount of power with cosmic insight:
Any sheen item - especially Ezreal players that build one
Unending despair - ANY player building this seriously needs to take cosmic insight or just don't build this item.
Any tear item - regardless of your champ, if you build tear, take cosmic insight. You will get stacks so much faster, and your completed item passives will be up more frequently
AD junglers that plan to build a tiamat item or sundered sky
Bonus point: If you play ARAM, I'd take cosmic insight on any poke champ who builds even just one item that benefits from it
I could have spent hours on this post giving comparisons to other third line/tier options from the same [inspiration] tree as well as other trees, but there is no real definitive 'always take X rune' type thing. Sometimes you may take a different tree than inspiration purely because of the first or second line/tier rune that is offered there. My primary goals here were to shed light on the items that benefit a lot from cosmic insight and to hopefully have at least one person see this post and have their brain start churning. People need to realize runepage adjustments can sometimes be so clutch; especially in scenarios where your champ looks like it's going to have a hard time. The combination of adjusting your runes and items based on different scenarios can legit turn what would feel like unplayable matches into somewhat salvageable matchups. Even if all you gain overall is a slightly higher win percentage, that's better than having more losses, right?
Anyways, enough of my rambling. Sorry if my post was all over the place. Feel free to agree or disagree in the comments. Feel free to not comment at all. I just had an itch in my head that wouldn't go away until I shared this information. Happy gaming to you all!

2024.05.19 17:27 Hagbard_Celine_1 Adding an outdoor plug for an above ground pool pump+ maybe a lighting circuit

Hi guys! Former "electrician" here. I use the "" because I was classed as a journeyman pay scale with the company I worked for. I was never certified but I did take apprenticeship courses at one point. I have about 4y experience but it's been 20y since I worked in the field. Im now in the medical field and enjoy my nice indoor work 😅
The pump I have is a 120v 1.5HP Aquapro 2speed. It comes with an attached ~4ft cord w/ three prong male end and all the instructions say is "min 16awg for 40 meters, min 14awg for 65 meters install according to local laws." Pump specs attached in the pic but it's 3.5A 1725/min at low speed and 8.5A 3450/min at high speed.
My plan is just to run 2x (1 lighting circuit and 1 pool pump circuit) 12awg Romex from my main indoor panel through the attic into a PVC box w/ Romex connector. From the PVC box I'll nipple a 3/4 PVC pipe through the soffit to another box outside mounted just under the soffit. I'll pipe the pump circuit down to receptacle height where I'll have my receptacle and bubble cover. I'll bring the lighting circuit out of the side of the high mounted box for floodlights or some kind of lighting mounted to the wall of the house. The run is well under 200ft so I don't think voltage drop will be an issue.
My main question is GFCI protection and proper grounding.
Should I use GFCI breakers for both circuits? If so I'm assuming I don't need a GFCI plug for the pump? I haven't priced breakers in forever so would a regular breaker and GFCI plug have me covered as well? Can I just use a regular receptacle with "GFCI protected" sticker if I go with a GFCI breaker? I was probably just going to stick with 15 amp breakers for both circuits.
The motor manual also says "connect a no. 8awg solid copper wire to the pressure wire connector provided on the motor housing and to all metal parts of the swimming pool..."
Looking at the motor I can see the ground terminal and a tag that says to use an 8ft grounding rod. Seems pretty straightforward. I'd just use some solid 8awg and the ground rod equipment. I've done this before but it's been years so if anyone has any specifics to be aware of id appreciate it.
Here is a link to the pool. Best I can tell it has some coated steel components but mostly everything is resin.
I'm curious what everyone thinks if this plan and if anyone has any further insight or recommendations? I'm working on putting together the pool base today so any replies will probably be in the evening. Thanks!

2024.05.19 17:23 salboithepalboi CS Conversion Masters or finish Masters in Economics

I am currently in a 2 year Masters in Economics program at a good university in europe. I have been contemplating switching into computer science for years now. I have at least another year or 1.5 years to finish the degree at the pace Im going at (didnt take any classes 1 semester) . I dont pay tuition
I was considering a Computer Science conversion masters in the UK and University of Birmingham seemed like a good option. But a few things swayed me away from applying for now such as; getting a research assistant position that will last until November, developments in AI in programming, having to get a letter of recommendation from my bachelor professor again and maybe not even go if I get accepted, (might sound stupid) and leaving an advanced masters degree from a decent Uni unfinished.
I haven't applied but maybe I should have, is it too late now? Is it worth switching into a conversion masters leaving my Econ masters unfinished? They have rolling admissions until August I dont know if the positions would be full at this point
If I were to go to the USA or the UK eventually, would a masters in Economics add good value to my profile alongside a Masters in Computer science?

2024.05.19 17:19 TheMadeline Games with third person shooting where I can be a coward and hide or pause time while I figure out what to do?

I like third person shooters (or rather, games that have third person shooting elements but also have other fun stuff going for them), but I panic when things move too fast in combat, or if I’m surrounded by enemies on all sides. My usual instinct is hide really far away from enemies and pop out to shoot occasionally, but I’m trying to be less of a coward, lol.
Anyone have recommendations for games where I can hide and take a breather, or like, sprint away to hide if I get overwhelmed? Another bonus would be the ability to pause time but still move my camera around to assess the situation.
Examples:
Anyone have more recommendations for coward-friendly games?

2024.05.19 17:17 Saplingx Wondering if I should get surgery

I'm M/27, I've had FAI in both hips for 9 years, it started in a quite uncommon way : during a low bar squat, I felt something moving in both hips which didn't feel normal at all, from there, hips did hurt for a few weeks and quickly came back to normal, the only thing that remained was a pinching pain at the bottom of a squat for a few months.
I stopped exercising for maybe 3 years, and when I started again, I noticed that any adduction exercise was hurting the external part of the knee if the ROM was too high, and it seemed to be directly linked to the hip. I didn't find anyone anywhere with the same symptoms, which is quite discouraging. So my hip mobility has became quite limited because of external knee pain as soon as I try to spread legs (for example, sumo stance is very painful for the knees), and also during squats, the only way to do pain free squats is to do them with a very narrow stance (and that requires a shit ton of ankle mobility that I don't have yet, so I do them on a slant board).
In 2019, I started CrossFit, and completely fucked my knees because I pushed through the pain for several months (which originally came from external knee pain during squats, and spread to the whole knees, stress fracture, hardcore patellar tendinopathy etc), it took years to recover from it and I'm still not 100% but close
So I've had a radio of both hips that confirmed the cam type FAI, and a sports doctor recommended surgery even though I was pain free because of the arthritis risks. At the time (2020) I decided not to get the surgery, but now that I'd like to gain back my full knee and hips ability for sports purpose, I wonder if I should get it.
It's not urgent at all so I could wait for months to really focus on strengthening the hips area (I've already been doing it for at least 6 months but could put more focus on it) and have the best revovery possible. And ofc the 2 hips would have to get the surgery...
What are your thoughts?
Thanks for your help!

2024.05.19 17:17 Similar_Ice_1764 Who do I ask to write my letter of recommendation?

Any advice would be much appreciated🙏🙏. I'm applying to study physics at both UK and US unis and I'm not sure whether I should ask my physics or my chemistry teacher for my recommendation letter - I'm closer to my chemistry teacher and I think she knows me better as I've participated in lots of chemistry competitions/events this year so I was able to spend more time with her but since I'm going into physics and my physics teacher is also my EE supervisor would it be better to ask him? I still have a good relationship with him I just prefer my chemistry teacher... My spanish teacher is writing my other recommendation if that affects anything

What state is this from???
It’s pissing me off that despite the many resources and possibilities on google, I cannot find a single plate example that has 4 letters and 3 digits. I don’t know what state this vehicle plate is from but it was involved in a hit and run

2024.05.19 17:14 DocWatson42 Anime That Deserve a Remake/Should Be Remade/You Want Remade

My lists are always being updated and expanded when new information comes in—what did I miss or am I unaware of (even if the thread predates my membership in Reddit), and what needs correction? Even (especially) if I get a subreddit or date wrong. (Note that, other than the quotation marks, the thread titles are "sic". I only change the quotation marks to match the standard usage (double to single, etc.) when I add my own quotation marks around the threads' titles.)
The lists are in absolute ascending chronological order by the posting date, and if need be the time of the initial post, down to the minute (or second, if required—there are several examples of this). The dates are in DD MMMM YYYY format per personal preference, and times are in US Eastern Time ("ET") since that's how they appear to me, and I'm not going to go to the trouble of converting to another time zone. They are also in twenty-four hour format, as that's what I prefer, and it saves the trouble and confusion of a.m. and p.m. Where the same user posts the same request to different subreddits, I note the user's name in order to indicate that I am aware of the duplication.
Thread lengths: longish (50–99 posts)/long (100–199 posts)/very long (200–299 posts)/extremely long (300–399 posts)/huge (400+ posts) (though not all threads are this strictly classified, especially ones before mid?-2023, though I am updating shorter lists as I repost them); they are in lower case to prevent their confusion with the name "Long" and are the first notation after a thread's information.

2024.05.19 17:14 vil93 Add containers with custom animations on Elementor page

Hello! Usually I use Elementor for building pages and posts by any templates, but now I have a task to add some sections with something that seems to be custom animation or maybe there is an elementor add-on for this that I don't know about? Also can you recommend any elementor plugin to help me create a row of containers with text to be horizontal slider with infinite loops?
I will write below the examples I need to do from 2-3 sites. Also if you go without plugins, how do you add custom animations including an external js library? Using html widget, adding the source, enqueuing the js and adding the js?
Here are the example sections: 1. https://boardmix.com/#workflow - here we have some tabs on the top and lists (maybe?) on the left, that are going with a timer one by one and changing the images. I thing this is pretty much custom made animation.
  1. https://www.bigchange.com/#w-node-_4e9625aa-86a9-c04b-d702-85c01c2af5ca-c966f566 - here when the user reach this section, the video on the left stays static and the right part keeps scrolling its content till the end, after that the scroll continue to the next section of the page.
Thanks in advance!

2024.05.19 17:13 tite_mily Subreddit Favorites Update: Opposites & Rivals, Sci-Fi, Age gap

The Subreddit Favorites Lists Project

We’re creating Goodreads shelves with the subreddit’s top recommendations in tons of different genres and categories, and you can help!
Every Sunday, a member of the subreddit resources team will make a post asking for top recommendations in a specific category. At the end of the week, the team will create a Goodreads shelf of the books everyone has recommended. These shelves will then be linked on the subreddit resources page, so people looking for books in that category will have an easy way to add popular books directly to their Goodreads TBR. These shelves are meant to be a sort of diving board into the genre, not a list to end all lists.

Suggest Your Favorite Books in the comments!

This week is a Special Shelf Update. We’ve always intended to go back periodically to review older categories that have been posted in the past to avoid them becoming too outdated and give newer releases the chance to shine. Here are the older categories that we want to update this time:
[Opposites & Rivals*](https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/150425481-mm-romancebooks-favorites?ref=nav_mybooks&shelf=trope-opposites) (incl. Grumpy/Sunshine, Nerd/Jock) - 28 favorites so far
[Sci-Fi*](https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/150425481-mm-romancebooks-favorites?ref=nav_mybooks&shelf=genre-sci-fi) - 65 favorites so far
[Age Gap*](https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/150425481-mm-romancebooks-favorites?ref=nav_mybooks&shelf=trope-age-gap) - 101 favorites so far
Rules for suggestions:
*If you contributed to one of these categories before, you can contribute again now, but please try to focus on books that are popular with the community as a whole, not just your own personal favorites. There is a very good chance your favorites are already on the list if they are an older book: focus on newer (from the past year) or lesser known books!
Make your *suggestions by Saturday of this week. Suggestions added later might not be added to the Goodreads shelf, because we can’t monitor the post comments forever.
*Please don’t suggest more than five books.
If you’re suggesting a series of books about the *same couple*, please list only the *first book in the series, since that is where readers will need to start.
If you’re suggesting a book in a series about *different couples**, you can list whichever book(s) in that series you recommend. For example, you could suggest only Heated Rivalry and none of the other books in the Game Changers series, if you wished.
