I just wanted to give you a short critique of Youmkos BMW M1000RR. As I'm not willing to spend 200€ for the Lego model, I wanted to have a try on Youmko. And this is surprisingly really good. The parts are made very well, only about 20 of the 1900 parts have a little bit less friction, but in compination with the surrounded, everything is fine.
The engine and the gearbox works very good, but when you finished the model, you won't see the engine any longer. The only difference to the Lego model I found, is that Lego uses a golden drivechain, Youmko a grey one.
The instruction is reduced from 400 to 83 pages. Everything is printed a bit smaller, but you can see every detail. As like the Lego model, you got 2 pages with 78 stickers in a very good print. But I only used a handful to see how it works.
All together, this is an absolute recommandation for only 19€ / 20$.

2024.05.19 11:45 Korkman Project proposal: Linux shim to run FreeDOS on EFI hardware

First, a quick recap here: FreeDOS cannot run on UEFI-only hardware because basic interrupts required by DOS are gone and operating hardware now requires entirely new ways incompatible with DOS, begging for an emulation layer in-between. "Legacy Boot" (or "UEFI CSM") provided this layer, but it's being phased out now.
Now such an emulation layer could be done in the shape of an EFI loader which essentially brings back CSM, but that seems to be out of reach for now and doesn't solve other hardware issues down the road.
I would like to open discussion about a potential project to create an installer or live USB which contains a stripped down Linux and runs FreeDOS in Qemu fullscreen with as much hardware passed through as possible. Opposed to the way HP did it, I envision full access to the hard drives, USB based floppy and serial ports (I don't think any UEFI-only system has native versions of those), maybe even SCSI.
The minimum PoC with real-world use I think would be:

In breve, abito in un condominio con 4 appartamenti (no obbligo amministratore) con fornitura gas per riscaldamento centralizzata. Il condomino cui era intestata la fornitura ha venduto casa e tocca quindi a me intestarmi la fornitura. Vado allo sportello a fare la voltura. Essendo a cavallo del cambio di mercato (tutelato -> libero) mi dicono che non è una semplice voltura ma un cambio di contratto vero e proprio. Ma sono fortunato: in questo nuovo contratto c'è la manutenzione in offerta gratuita! /s Non sono interessato, ma mi dicono allo sportello che non è scorporabile dall'offerta. Peccato che ci sia la sorpresina: 1) I servizi non comprendono quanto segue: Interventi su Apparecchi Gas di potenza superiore a 35KW o su Apparecchi Gas condominiali o caldaie a basamento. 2) dovessi recedere dal contratto prima di 24 mesi, mi addebiterebbero il costo del servizio "gratuito" anche se non ne avessi mai approfittato.
Secondo voi è legale una cosa del genere? C'è modo di segnalare la cosa a qualche ente preposto?
Ad ogni modo fate attenzione a questo genere di ricatti che le compagnia si sono inventate per tenersi i clienti nel mercato libero. Il fornitore è A2A ma penso che anche altri si siano inventati qualcosa di simile.

  • Both created a main way of transport in both their dimensions, or universes (Rick Prime making portal guns / Dr Finitevus making the warp rings)
  • Both wanted to not just make the look-alike of them suffer as much as possible, but also partially destroy life itself.(Rick Prime wanting to erase every rick Sanchez’s family/ Finitevus wanting to cleanse the world of all life)
  • And to do this, both were going to use a “weapon” whether physical/mechanical (Omega Device / Turning Knuckles into Enerjak)
