Shannon Sharpe and Kendrick Perkins aren't my cup of tea, but they debated this interesting question. TL;DW Sharpe said Luka instantly becomes an all time legend and face of the league. Perkins said it's hard to say since it is a massive redemption story for Kyrie and now he is the actual leader of a title team.
I actually think I agree with Perkins here. Luka is going to be a top 3 player regardless and is still so young that if he doesn't win this year he will have plenty of opportunities. A Finals run alone is progress for his MVP case next year and he has answered a lot of the questions people had about him and his shortcomings like defense. A win makes him the face of the league but that's like going from #2 to #1, and he may already be doing that as we speak. Even if we lose to a stacked Boston team, Luka gritted out a huge run and elevated his defense to another level, silencing the haters as we went through a brutal schedule as perpetual underdogs.
While Luka is underrated and has a lot to gain legacy-wise from a title at such a young age, cementing his name in NBA history and beating LeBron and Jordan to their first (age-wise), Kyrie was so destroyed by his own antics he was left off the top 75 players in NBA history Select Team and his game became mostly forgotten about. He was seen as such a toxic asset we were given a D grade for acquiring him for one distant pick and two role players. Nick Wright, Luka's most vocal fan in the media, claimed Kyrie would be the reason Luka would leave Dallas and we wouldn't win. Kyrie had been blamed (fairly or not) for blowing up three consecutive contenders. And he was unfairly blamed for the Mavs missing the playoffs last year when we all know it wasn't his fault. Without another title, many people (especially younger ones) will remember him for his offstage antics and not as arguably the greatest ballhandler ever and one of the greatest shots in NBA Finals history.
Kyrie goes from total pariah and goofball back to legend and leader within one year, that's a much larger impact on legacy than Luka going from MVP candidate to face of the league.

Not saying I think it would be a thing necessarily. The iffy quality control on Lego games means Nintendo either wouldn’t allow it, or would do it in-house / with strict supervision. And that just doesn’t sound very them. Plus I don’t think we’ve had Lego games based on other video games before, and I feel like Tt Lego games might be dead in the water in general.
Regardless, thinking about hypothetical Lego games is fun. So I’m gonna do it anyways.
The plot would probably be the trickiest part. Straightforward abridged adaptations of games in the series would be… a bad move. It’d make it come across as an inferior version of those games. The most realistic option would be basing it off of the Zelda movie, but I have no material to go off of with that.
So the most realistic possibility that’s still fun to talk about would be sort of a Hyrule Warriors (OG / Legends / DE) setup. You’ve got an original Link and a bunch of alternatives representing individual games, and some sort of timeline-crossing shenanigans allowing for as many characters as possible. And given it’s a Lego game, they’d get real obscure. Probably not referencing the CDI games level obscure, but potentially referencing the animated series level obscure given the Mario Movie did just that for its respective series.
Mechanically… it’s a Lego game. Not a ton to say. Different characters let you solve different puzzles or perform different combos in battle. Some characters like Link would probably have a variety of items to select from ala Mythril tools in LotR or spells in HP, but that’s about all the differences there would be.
And the open world… would most likely just be Hyrule, but having that just be the biggest section of multiple options like New Hyrule, the Great Sea, Termina, etc would be cool in its own right.
And I think it’d be cute if the health system was reworked, with heart pieces being a major collectible and enemies dealing more damage later into the games it’d still be a Lego game, so death wouldn’t matter that much, but it’d be a cute touch. Same goes for Koroks and Skulltulas as collectibles, though they would serve different purposes. Skulltulas giving you character tokens and koroks giving you gold brick seeds.
So yeah. A Lego Zelda game will never happen, but it would be cute.

Around 1994, we got an NES with some games including the fabulous gold Legend of Zelda cartridge. When we first played the game, someone had previously finished the game at least once and gathered all the Triforce shards.
The outer triangle around the Triforce in the pause screen was filled in blue (in the screenshot above, it is not filled in at all). Now, in every screenshot I've seen since then—and of course after we reset the accounts so we could play through—it is never filled in, but left black. However, it clearly is highlighted as if it has an intended purpose.
I have never seen an explanation for this, and I've wondered for thirty years. (As you can imagine, googling "blue ring" doesn't get you far!) Has anyone ever encountered this?

Inspired by the constant talk of "no one actually plays games, this is a sub dedicated to buying new handhelds and setting them up", I figured I'd share my story. I grew up playing games on Nintendo handhelds and I got into retro handhelds with the original Miyoo Mini in the summer of 2022. I think that was a gateway drug for many as it hit the fringe of mainstream and made us aware that this sort of thing even existed. I was previously completely oblivious to the fact that companies like Anbernic and Retroid were making handhelds specifically with the goal of emulating retro consoles, and so the Miyoo Mini gaining some traction on social media opened my eyes to this industry and I started following it. I was blown away by a a $60 device doing everything the MM did, particularly when I turned it on and set it next to my old GBA SP and compared the screens.
After receiving my MM, I dug out my old Nintendo handhelds (which include a Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP, 1st gen Nintendo DS, and New 3DS XL) and hacked my 3DS. A year later, after loving my Miyoo Mini but constantly dealing with cramped hands due to the bad ergonomics of playing on such a tiny device, I bought the follow-up in the MM+. After enjoying that form factor much more and having spent 18 months playing retro games on the two, I started wanting access to more consoles and after almost pulling the trigger on a Retroid Pocket 4 Pro, I ordered the AYN Odin 2 due to the larger screen, better ergonomics, and better battery life. Between owning a launch-day Switch, hacked 3DS, Miyoo Mini+, and Odin 2, I honestly don't think I need another handheld for a long time (well, until the Switch successor launches, but the Switch as a modern console I think puts it in a slightly different category).
As a dad with two young kids, these days handheld gaming is the ONLY way I get to play games for myself. I can't remember the last time I sat down in front of my TV and fired up the Xbox or played a Switch game by myself. And so, I wanted to share that it is possible to only own a few handhelds and actually play games on them without constantly buying whatever is next and then putting it on a shelf. So, below is the list of games I've played and finished since getting my Miyoo Mini 2 years ago, in no particular order. Anything GBA/SNES/PS1 and earlier was played on my MM or MM+; everything newer was played on my Odin 2 save for DS/3DS, which I played on my hacked 3DS XL.
