2024.02.06 18:51 AnotherTurnedToDust [PC-98?][90s?] Does anyone know what this image is from? It looks like it's from a PC-98 Visual Novel

Here's the image.
It was used as the profile picture of a quora user with one answer and nothing else. I found this when looking into the old character creator thing Zwinky - but when I try to find the source of this image I can't find anything other than the quora user.
It looks like it's from a PC-98 title as I mentioned, but I currently have no way to really be sure. Anyone have any ideas?

2023.08.31 23:15 madisonc6239 [Platform: Facebook][Year: pre 2010] Looking for the name of an old Facebook MMO

Posted on another subreddit and they suggested i ask here. Looking an old Facebook MMO (Please help. My brain can’t remember)
This was a Facebook game and it was an mmo with servers and all. The game was embedded in Facebook and eventually they took it off cause the company j guess couldn’t afford upkeep. Here’s all I remember: Wasn’t owned by Zynga (so not FarmVille or YoVille or any of those). The house decorating was awesome. You could purchase as many rooms as you wanted and place them anywhere on one of the three walls (left, back, right). Meaning you could have a room leading to another leading to another and so on. Unlimited rooms. People would use furniture and turn their houses into giant mazes because they could put rooms anywhere. Another big thing in the game were individually run auctions. You’d go to a busy public area and announce an auction and they’d click on your profile to go to your house. You were able to edit the room even while people were in it so great for live auctions. Some people just had stores with set prices in their homes and you could put these pastel sticky notes on the wall that would list the prices. I remember one of the public areas was a casino with a wheel you could spin to get in game currency. There was a real money shop. Some of the furniture included half walls with gates that only the home owner could open and close. No combat or anything like that. Very much a socialization game with maybe some mini games (think how Zwinky had the social areas, houses, some mini games and shopping but nothing more than that. but it wasn’t zwinky) wasn’t habbo hotel either.
I hope someone knows what I’m talking about.

2023.03.22 02:47 TheOmegaOni [PC] [2006-2009] 2D Side scroller flash game with pink character with lance and snowy stage

Platform(s): PC, Flash game
Genre: Action adventure, 2D platformer
Estimated year of release: Sometime around 2006-2009?
Graphics/art style: Cartoony
Notable characters: I think one character was pink and the other was blue and they were creatures/anthromorphic animals or something of some sort, but I can't quite remember. The pink one used a lance as a weapon, like it was pink and white striped, I could be wrong about that though but that's what I remember!
Notable gameplay mechanics: It was a very simple flash game that was just basically a platformer with sword combat, like a 2D Zelda or a metroidvania (but it wasn't a metroidvania, just like, similar attack patterns to games like Hollow Knight or Castlevania is all that comes to mind for combat comparison LOL)
Other details: I remember it being snowy in the game and remember there being different levels. I played it on an old PC on some flash game site sometime within the 2006-2009 years and it being on only a couple flash game websites with Zwinky ads. I don't think it was super popular. Sorry if this isn't enough, I can remember in my head vague bits and pieces of this game but not enough!!

2021.10.17 23:00 BillFireCrotchWalton Drama in r/incremental_games when the top mod adds a new mod who clashes with all the other active mods and the community in general. Drama and slapfights ensue when the two mods try to defend themselves in a meta thread created to discuss the situation.

Full thread with a decent write up about the situation. incremental_games is a subreddit for incremental games. Cookie Clicker is probably the most well known incremental game. Essentially the top mod, who is basically inactive, added a new mod to the team who is basically just being an asshole and undermining all the other mods.
Just looked at their history. The hell? They don't even contribute to the subreddit he supposedly "owns." I'll happily leave the subreddit due to someone being a shithead.
If I bought a plot of land and didn't touch it for a decade, who owns the plot of land? The person who decided to go mow it for a decade? No. I let them mow it. I just want my name on the title. It's my land

2019.10.14 03:10 sarahstreamz The Start of My Video Game Life

Hi there!
To introduce myself, my name is Sarah. I’m 18-years-old and I live in Tampa, FL. I grew up playing video games like the most of you. But back in like 2010, gamer girls were not a thing haha. If you ran into a gamer girl, it was that awkward time of when boys would literally get erect by it (sorry to get weird 🤪). But anyway, I have been playing Xbox since 2010. And it helped me when no one else was there. I have 2 best friends from Xbox that I’ve still never met and I’ve known them for almost 10 years. Since I was in third grade. But that’s not the point of this post either.
You see, I grew up playing BO1, I’m sure everyone loved this game when it dropped. I loved playing zombies so much, and of course multiplayer. It’s like nostalgic now. I’d kill to play that game but it would be like entering World at War, full of hackers lol. But when I did not have an Xbox 360 yet, I played on the WII and I would always be watching YouTube of gameplays. Also, I grew up playing computer games. Yes, computer games. I grew up playing Zwinky, Fantage, Club Penguin, etc. (all shut down, sadly). It broke my heart.
However, during this time. I was watching Pewdiepie and living my best life. I want to feel like a kid again when I was playing those dorky games. And my dream, since I was in 3rd grade. Was to show people that I can become good at video games. And I believe I am. I have just started twitch streaming, and I love it. Even if I receive 3 followers at max, it still feels amazing. I’ve always wanted to be one and no, not for the money. But to be around such a loving and awesome community. I hope you enjoyed my story. Please check out my stream y’all!

Ps, if you have any pointers or tips, please let me know!!! Thank you and may the video games always be in OUR FAVOR! 🖤
