Iaidō (居合道) is a Japanese sword art focused on drawing and cutting in one motion. Because it starts from a peaceful position, sword sheathed, there is also a focus on traditional etiquette and mental discipline.

Hello!
My wife and I just bought our first home, a 1933 colonial with plaster and lath walls. House is in great shape but I have been racking my brain on the best methods to use when going forward on hanging things/aesthetic improvements.
One thing I definitely plan on doing is putting up crown and wainscotting in a lot of different rooms, not the pre made panels, but chair rail and picture moulding. Likely going to do full height in the upstairs hallway, 1/3 height in my office, potentially full height in the primary bedroom, etc. so I am going to be shooting a lot of nails.
I am on the fence between these two stud finders:
Franklin M210 ($63.00)
Bosch D-Tect 120 ($250)
The Bosch has a few more features and apparently scans deeper but not sure if it is worth the extra nearly $200, it also seems to get more conflicting reviews. I know (if I am lucky and there is no wire mesh) that I will be able to use the stud finder to locate studs and live wires, but I am mostly worried about identifying piping as well, as the stud finder may pick it up but of course won't reflect the difference between a stud. We have oil and steam heater and radiators in every single room so I assume there is piping going all over the place.
I assume I should be able to use a rare earth magnet to cross check the stud finder to help determine if what is being picked up is a stud or a pipe as the magnet would stick to the stud nails and not the pipe but I am still a little worried. Should I pick up a camera scope to use as well to be extra sure? I could always drill where I plan to put the chair rail to eliminate the need of too much patching.
Please provide me with any recommendations you may have in terms of tools, means and methods, or anything else. I would greatly appreciate figuring out the best method so when we move in 2 weeks from now I have a game plan.
And yes, I will be checking the stud finder on myself first to give it the first true calibration.
THANK YOU!

2024.05.14 01:37 CopperCityPrisoner Does anyone have SmartCats StayHome Cat Proof Fence?

My 2 year old Ragdoll is the most determined adventurer. As a kitten she was raised on a large property with no immediate threats. We have since moved into a townhouse close to the city, with a small but adequate yard. I was apprehensive letting her outside in this area, but felt guilty about denying her the ability to keep catching bugs and rolling in the grass. Over the summer, a woman who lives outside my complex, had been persuading my cat into her house with treats (said woman admitted to this) and would proceed to text-abuse me on multiple occasions, after obtaining my number from the cat collar. After experiencing such unexpected distress, I am committed to confining my cat to my yard, but have limited options as a renter to alter the property. Originally I purchased plastic ‘Cat-Spike’ attachments to run along the perimeter of the fence, as this appeared to be a cost effective option, with mostly positive reviews. Alas, my cat immediately walked on top of these, appearing to enjoy the massage on her feet! At an absolute loss, and with some mild financial distress, I have decided to invest in the SmartCats StayHome fence kit ($750 NZD). It has overwhelmingly positive Google reviews, but I can’t help worry that my determined adventurer will not be phased. If the system works, of course it will be worth every dollar. In the meantime I sit with fear that I have thrown away a significant amount of money, that really wasn’t at my disposal.

2024.05.13 23:46 Lothere55 Six Decants from u/Hype_Moments: Reviewed!

Decant Reviews Part II: The Revenge! This batch came to me from the most excellent u/Hype_Moments, who thoughtfully reached out to me to inform me of his services after I expressed dismay at my inability to obtain samples directly from Montagne. The decants arrived promptly and packaged securely enough to withstand a nuclear blast! I also appreciate the attention to detail when it comes to labeling: matching Montagne's font and including the notes makes the sampling process feel very deluxe. Great experience, would order again!
On to the fragrances. Unless stated otherwise, I have not smelled the inspiration fragrances, so I am judging these on their own merit. For your reference, I typically prefer unisex fragrances, but I decided to roll the dice and included three feminine scents this time. I'm 29, and I work in both office and classroom environments. Let's get into it!
Eau Vanille: This one is not for everyone, but it's definitely for me. The rich, deep vanilla combined with the guiac wood and incense smells like going to mass at a grand Cathedral. Sophisticated, solemn, mysterious. I imagine that Notre Dame smells like this on Good Friday. Honestly, it kind of reminds me of my confirmation. I swear, the oil the bishop puts on your (greasy, 13-year-old) forehead smells a lot like this. That said, I love this because it reminds me of a positive moment in my faith formation, but it may evoke complex or negative reactions in others. The incense calms down after a couple of hours, which allows the vanilla to shine. Definitely not too sweet, and reads straightforwardly unisex to me. If you're a vanilla-lover looking for something a bit different with some oomph, this could be for you. Maybe not the best choice for the heat of summer, but I will be looking to purchase the full bottle come autumn. Would wear to my arch-rival's funeral.
Strawberry Milk: The wildcard of the bunch. I did not think I was going to like this because I thought it was going to be extremely juvenile and sickly sweet. I ordered it out of pure curiosity after hearing about the ungodly sums folks were shelling out to get their hands on a bottle. While it's definitely a sweet gourmand, it's not syrupy sweet. It's kind of fruity and powdery and just a bit herbal. There's something in here that comes off a little minty to my nose, which is baffling considering the notes. I'm not getting anything particularly strawberry-like, though. Maybe a hint of something lactonic, like malted milk powder, and a burnt-sugar note that could be caramel. Very wearable if you like sweet scents. Not obtrusive, kind of like if you gave a your-skin-but-better scent some moxie. Certainly not your typical celebrity scent. I could see a lot of women liking this. The longevity wasn't the best on this one, though: I think I got about four hours out of it. I'm not personally in love with it, but I'm glad I tried it.
Pink Rose Exclusif: Good Lord, y'all. This THE hot girl perfume. The most attractive woman you can think of probably wears this. It's a really beautiful, sweet, creamy, powdery rose wrapped in a veil of incense and supported by vanilla and woody notes in the base. There's some fruitiness in there too, particularly in the opening. Despite the powderiness and incense, it's quite edible smelling; like a fruity sponge cake that's also drenched in rose syrup, served immediately after the Confirmation service (callback!). I recognize this scent because I have encountered it in the wild on women wearing Delina Exclusif or its dupes, and it definitely... affects me, shall we say. This will turn heads for sure. It also lasts forever with excellent projection. I put on 3 sprays, wore it all day, went to sleep, and then my pillow and sheets smelled like Pink Rose Exclusif for DAYS, just from coming into contact with my arm. You absolutely do not need much of this. As much as I love it, I'm on the fence about whether to buy it, because I'm not sure how often I would actually wear it. It's a little more femme than my personal style usually calls for, imo. Plus, I'm not sure I want all the attention this would garner. That said, it's a 10/10 frag, I'd go for it today if I were single and ready to mingle. UPDATE: After writing this review, I got the opportunity to test the OG in-store, and I can confirm that this is a 1 to 1 dupe. I don't detect any difference whatsoever. Nice work, Montagne!
Pink Rose: This one humbled me. I had already tried the Exclusif version, and figured this was the more wearable, daytime version. I did my normal application (1 spray each on wrists & inner elbows, 2 sprays on the neck, 1 on the front of my shirt) and then headed to the office. When my coworker told me I smelled good from 6 feet away, I knew I had overdone it. I was smelling this all day long, from the 8:30 AM application until bed time. And not just little whiffs here and there, I'm talking constant presence in my olfactory organ. A little distracting, if I'm honest. Luckily, it's a beautiful fragrance. Florals are hit or miss for me, but I have a soft spot for rose. Whereas the Exclusif smells like rose dessert, this smells like a living rose growing fresh and vibrant in the garden. The litchi and rhubarb bring in a little sharpness, and there's a green accord in there that's really refreshing. This is rose done in a modern, interesting way, and I dig it. Feminine, but in a way that feels manageable for my typical presentation. Despite my initial blunder, I do think it's more every-day wearable than its sister as long as you are conservative with your application. Will buy for sure, and probably sooner rather than later.
Carnal Gray Extrait: In a word: exquisite. This smells like being wealthy, well-traveled, and the hottest person at the function. Charisma in a bottle. Effortlessly sexy without being provocative. It's well blended, but not linear. We start with a spicy, herbaceous opening; you get the cardamom right away, with some sweet green undertones. Then, a beautiful dry down. It becomes more powdery with a bit sweetness thanks to iris, tonka, and vanilla. The woodiness from cedar and sandalwood and earthiness from vetiver and patchouli keep it from going gourmand, and the result is something deep, dark, and complex. Perfect for special occasions where you want to dress to impress, this would be the ultimate companion to a well-tailored suit or a fancy cocktail dress. Apparently folks are somewhat divided on whether Gris Charnel Extrait leans feminine or masculine, but to me, CGE is perfectly unisex. Great performance; three sprays lasts me all day with moderate projection. This is my favorite fragrance from Montagne so far, and in the running for my favorite fragrance of all time. It's probably not the best choice for the hot, humid summer that's coming my way, but I don't even care, this is going to the top of the queue. 12/10, I am writing in my will that I want this sprayed on me before I go in the casket.
Brooklyn Jazz: At last, a fragrance that I can compare to its inspiration! I have smelled and fallen in love with Maison Margiela's Jazz Club, and was super excited to see how the wallet-friendly version from Montagne stacks up. Indeed, it's a very close match. We have a nice peppery opening that gives way to boozy, rum tobacco heaven. It's not in the notes, but this definitely comes off leathery to my nose. It smells like sitting in a leather armchair, sipping on dark liquor, and smoking... some kind of tobacco product. I want to say a pipe rather than a cigar, but neither is my vice of choice, so I can't be sure. Either way, old school badass. Think Ron Swanson in Duke Silver mode. If anything, there is perhaps more of an herbal accord here that I didn't notice in Jazz Club, but that could be due to the translation from EDT to EDP. Masculine leaning, but still suitable for ladies who appreciate smokey scents. Altogether, a lovely warm and cozy scent. Decent longevity, but the projection could be better (maybe needs maceration). I do like it, but I'm more motivated to get my hands on Carnal Gray Extrait and Eau Vanille, both of which are certainly different, but occupy a similar region of the fragrance family tree. I may pick it up after I make it through the summer.
Thanks for reading my reviews! And special thank-yous to both u/Hype-Moments and u/AyybrahamLmaocoln for supplying this community with decants and saving us from the anxiety of blind-buying. Let me know if you have any recommendations for my next decant order, particularly more masculine scents that are good for summer; I want my collection to have a little of everything. What do y'all think of Afternoon Dive and Torino 2021? That's all, over and out.

2024.05.13 22:02 indicarunningclub Strain jumped when I moved to my bicep

Hey everyone, I’ve had a whoop for about 30 days and I just got a bicep band for it yesterday. I always wondered why my exercises gave such low strain and now I know why. Thursday was a 2 mile run and Saturday was elliptical plus some weights, both on my wrist. Today was elliptical plus weights again and look at the strain jump!!
I got the FreshStrap brand bicep strap on Amazon for cheap and it works really well if you were on the fence. I’m not sure what’s up with the bad reviews, it works great and is very comfortable for me.
I plan to keep it on my bicep 24x7 as I tested it last night and the results were pretty spot on compared to my wrist.

2024.05.13 21:22 TzootDoot Dysphoric vent

I feel like I got dealt a shitty hand in genetics, and by that I mostly mean I wish I was AFAB. Living with my parents I constantly have to look in the mirror and try to ignore my undesired parts while having to care for myself and it just feels like crap. Honestly the main triggers are facial hair and the fact my hair is starting to recede at 18 and that just hurts. I'm on the fence on HRT because I worry about my sexuality changing (and I know that'll suck because having OCD will make me review my sexuality so much I won't even know what's true for myself anymore). Laser I'm still not sure if I can get without anyone noticing and that same OCD I mentioned will make me worry about the side effects of any hairloss products I'll use because they all come with side effects. It might do me more bad than anything.
I just feel lost. I feel like all choices have a low chance of some disastrous side effect I wouldn't want to face. I don't necessarily NEED HRT, but it'd be cool, save for that side effect. It just feels like I'll never be able to escape my dysphoria and I fucking hate that

2024.05.13 19:25 bajajoaquin How to Compliment a Delivery Guy?

So I just had a delivery and my super friendly but kinda big and energetic Labrador just scared the sh!t out of the delivery guy. I saw his leg over the fence as he climbed over it to get away. The picket on the fence broke where he climbed it.
I apologized to him profusely and told him to take his delivery pic without the broken fence in it and it was totally fine. It’s my fault because my dog is so friendly but sounds so scary.
I feel really bad that he was so scared he needed to climb over a fence in a panic. Nobody needs that at work.
Is there a way to get a direct compliment/customer review to him?
Anyway, I put all the additional flair on the review (including the respects property guess I’ll change them to say to leave stuff outside the gate.)

2024.05.13 05:36 -cosmic-bitch- My First Time at [Holiday World] - Trip Report

My First Time at [Holiday World] - Trip Report
[The Raven] and [The Voyage] are pictured. Also, honeysuckles at the base of The Voyage.
Trip Report, Sunday, 05/12/2024 Waterpark was closed for the day. Every coaster except Good Gravy had a station wait. I went solo. I didn't ride anything this trip except the coasters.
My overall thoughts: This place is really in the middle of nowhere and I love it. The park was super clean. The staff was very nice, but it seemed like a lot of them were new employees. The theming was in some ways cool and a little cheesy/tacky in other ways (Dollywood is my home park though, so my expectations are just high). Halloween is my favorite holiday and they are missing opportunities here unfortunately. The sound of the Legend's bell is the coolest thing in this section. The Thanksgiving section somehow had the best music. There were a lot of places to sit and chill and the bathrooms are so conveniently placed. The whole park had a very nice, chill atmosphere. And the park smelled like honeysuckles because they were everywhere behind the fences.
I bought a pineapple/strawberry twist dole whip which was wonderful. And I bought an alcoholic iced peach tea, which was surprisingly good and not sickeningly sweet like I was worried it would be. Did not purchase food food this visit. But I do have a dairy allergy and I noticed at least some of their online menu is likely not accurate when it comes to the allergen guide, so be careful with that and ask for the binder boi guide at each individual place if it's a concern.
From my perspective, there's a pretty okay mix of coasters considering this is a smaller park. Even with 3 of them being similar woodies, they all have a personality. I love that all the coasters except Good Gravy go out into the woods. Nothing terribly scenic, but it's still nice. I am excited for night rides. The woodies were a little more rough on me than I was expecting, but still -mostly- smooth experiences. However, a small amount of debris was flying in my face/eyes on the woodies.. wonder if it's wood chips/sawdust from track updates? Or maybe just stuff that fell out of trees after those storms?? There was something notably large enough on Voyage that if it had hit my eye rather than my cheek, I think it would have damaged my actual eyeball. But thankfully, it wasn't a big deal.
Some random and potentially helpful observations: The pepsi oasis stations all have a few variations of drink options, but like half of them do not have water at them for some reason. I recommend bringing an empty bottle.
I honestly do not understand the tram system here, but they do have one. I just walked but it was not far at all. However, I did lose where I parked my car for a couple minutes.
You can place your bag/items at the station on every coaster. They have bins for loose articles.
Ride Reviews:
The Raven (7/10)(x1): I thought this was good! A bit rougher than the others and kind of short compared to everything else. But I enjoyed it and I liked the turn that went out over the water.
The Legend (10/10)(x2): Okay, hear me out.. I think I liked this one the best. I'm going to have to re-ride this and The Voyage later this season to really know for sure. They both have hella tunnels and I am so into that. But upon my first impression, I like the forces and elements on the Legend the most. I love the drop, the laterals, and the one very strong pop of airtime near the end. This coaster just has so much character.
Also, short story time! On my first ride, the train was just dispatched out of the station. While it was moving, an employee reached over the yellow safety line to grab a fallen scrunchie and the ride op immediately emergency stopped the train. We were able to get re-dispatched quickly. Just thought it was interesting and the ride op did a great job. He probably just saw someone in his peripherals go over that line and he did not hesitate. But who knows what that other employee was thinking haha.
Good Gravy (7/10)(x1): So this one I liked! It understandably had the longest wait, which was about 20-30 mins. Super cool theming. I chose to ride in the very back row. I'm sure most of you know, this ride is really the same type of coaster as Big Bear Mountain except it's a small boomerang. I would say the forces are pretty similar, and it's just as smooth. From the back row, I enjoyed the initial drop/launch and backwards portion the most. I assume for front row, the best part would be the spike. It was super short, but you do go through a cranberry can while riding in a gravy boat haha. The novelty of it all makes this coaster super fun. I also love the color scheme. Good Gravy vibes all around. I hope Holiday World adds more family coasters for the sake of the GP hahaha.
Thunderbird (9/10)(x3): I rode this one the most times because it had no wait and I basically climbed mount everest to get there lol. Got front row edge seat every time, and I tried out both sides. This ride is awesome. More forceful than Wild Eagle for sure. The loopdy loops and pulls were so snappy and fun. Great hang time at the end. I like the launch and the following element a lot, but I do think I prefer Wild Eagle's 200 ft drop to this launch. It was kind of a relief to ride this in the middle of the wooden coasters.
The Voyage (10/10)(x1): This was epic, but it was a lot to handle. It was really really fun and very long. I loved all the drops. The first drop and second hill and drop were glass smooth. There was one very, very rough spot somewhere in the layout but other than that, it was an enjoyable and intense experience. I was already exhausted by this point so next trip, I'm riding this first. But, man, was this ride a whole experience haha :)

2024.05.13 02:38 CenturioLegioX HF Armory Black Knight Sabre gloves review

Hello everyone,
A couple of weeks ago we had a discussion about sabre gloves and I mentioned my wife had recently bought the HF Armory Black Knight Sabre gloves. You guys wanted a review when we had used it for a bit, so here's my review.
Note: after having seen my wife's gloves, I was so impressed that I bought a pair for myself as well.
Preface:
The gloves are available in Europe directly through HF Armory or if you're in the US through Purpleheart Armoury. Sabre Gloves Black Knight - HF Armory (hf-armory.com) / HF Saber Gloves (woodenswords.com) My wife uses an S pair and I use a M/L pair for reference. The pictures I've added are from my M/L gloves. We've both used these for a bit over a month now during sparring and regular classes. I have used mine during a sabre tournament as well. Prior to these gloves we have both used the generic kevlar gloves and the Gabriel gloves. My wife got hit on her pinkie a couple of times while wearing the kevlar gloves so wanted to upgrade protection wise. I hadn't had any issues with the kevlar gloves but an upcoming tournament required hard gloves for sabre so I needed new ones. I already had Gabriel gloves for longsword but I found that these were too cumbersome for sabre and a bit too bulky for my Easton Mk III even though they barely fit the guard.
Protection:
The gloves seem to offer decent protection for the fingers. The hard shell is sleek but feels protective as well. It might seem the sides of the fingers aren't as well protected but I found that when you are holding your sword the plates overlap enough with the guard to not make this an issue. You'll definitely feel hard hits to your hands but so far we haven't even had any minor bruises while using these. The wrist is less protected in order to safeguard the mobility. There is one hard plate on the side of your true edge which does help but overall the wrist isn't that well protected. I have noticed that wearing a small padded wristband (like from tennis) helped to take the sting out of some wrist hits while not hampering mobility.
Mobility:
The mobility in these gloves is great. Moulinets, disengages, cut overs, thrusts no technique posed any problem while fencing with these. If you order according to HF Armory's sizing chart the gloves are plenty spacious to allow you to use all your fingers while holding a sword. Your hands aren't cramped together at all. The thumb fits snugly and easily allows for a thumb up grip. The gloves are also sleek enough to fit in both my Easton Mk III and my wife's VB gymnasium sabre. I have also handled some other people's sabres as well with all kinds of guards and they all easily fit. These gloves come it at around 250 grams each which is more than half of my Gabriel gloves. As these are clamshell type gloves they don't allow the user to put a finger over the guard which might be of interest for people fencing rapier or sidesword. These are advertised as sabre gloves either way.
Prizing:
These gloves aren't the cheapest at €130 / $165 but aren't prohibitively expensive either. With the basic kevlar gloves rising in price each year, it might be worth it to make the small price jump for gloves with better protection.
Conclusion:
So far these gloves seem like the best in between glove for sabre I have handled so far and I have used a lot of gloves over the years including HF Armory's Firestones. They have good mobility and decent protection. As always with sabre it's hard to find a glove that fits in a more complex hilt, but I think these are the best solution to that problem so far. The protection isn't perfect but they are definitely a step up from kevlar gloves. Hits will still hurt but I think major injuries will be way less likely. The pricing also helps in putting these gloves in a competitive spot in the market. I'll certainly keep using them for now and see how they hold up over a longer period of time.
I hope this review was useful, please let me know if you need any more information from me.

2024.05.12 14:59 MagicMissile27 XXVIIth Praetorian Infantry, Part 12. Misfits Making Mischief.

The main force of Praetorians steadily tracked down the road from Westbridge Crossing, neat red ranks escorted by armored vehicles and small detachments of scouts from each battalion (a new development directed by the Colonel). Meanwhile, miles away from both them and from the safety of Westbridge’s defensive lines, the five black-uniformed and armored Praetorians of Team ARTEMIS gathered around a tree stump in the slowly melting snow as the sun started to approach the horizon. “Let’s review the plan,” Lieutenant Idena Verona said, unfolding a small map and laying it on the tree stump. “The T’au have a small listening post in the hillside approximately one mile from our current location, here. Colonel Burton’s men identified a likely command center here, and a radio tower here, hidden by the treeline. Our task is to destroy it without the T’au getting off a message that we’re there. We know there’s natural cover all along this side due to that rock face, and they have sentry drones along here. That’s why we’re going to go in from this direction.”
Sergeant Virginia Woolworth nodded. “I’ll take the left with you and Raycraft, ma’am,” she said, pointing to a small hillock overlooking the post. “We can approach from here and have a good firing position.” “And I’ll blow the tower while Violette covers me,” Corporal Rachel Darling said with a nod of her own. “Correct,” Idena said. “But don’t detonate the explosives until we give the signal that the T’au are changing guards. They’re likely to change watches just after sunset, which gives us just enough time to get there. Once the tower’s blown and we’ve picked off the guards, we go in fast and quiet, clear each room, and then collapse the place – bring the hillside down on it.” Darling grinned at the prospect of detonating the entire complex. “Say no more, ma’am.” “Good. Let’s move,” Idena said with a nod.
“Comms check,” Corporal Lucy Raycraft said into her vox-headset. “Loud and clear, how me?” whispered Specialist Violette Wake-Stewart’s voice in her ear. “Have you the same,” she replied, tapping the tiny microphone control. “Ready to crack this tin of corned grox, Sarge?” she asked Woolworth with a smile. “Ready as ever,” Woolworth replied thinly. The team of two and the team of three split ways and proceeded to each side of the small grey concrete building under the eaves of the rocky hillside, and Raycraft took her place beside the LT and the sergeant. Idena had unslung the long sniper rifle on her back and fitted a noise and light suppressor to it, crouching down beside a frostbitten bush for cover as the sun inched below the horizon. She could see the two fire warriors in their winter camouflage standing guard outside the building, shifting slightly in place as they waited. “Relief section’s coming in,” Woolworth said quietly. “I see them,” Idena nodded and shifted to a prone position. “Take positions.” Raycraft and Woolworth took places near her and steadied their lasguns. “Tower team, status?”
Darling slid softly down a snow bank and up to the foundation of the tower, which was surrounded by a thin fence of barbed wire. “Violette, got the clippers?” “Got them,” Wake-Stewart said quietly, sliding beside her and taking out a set of wire cutters. After checking to see if the wires were electrified, she snipped them one by one, allowing Darling safe passage inside. “I’m going to circle around this side, give you better cover,” she said, as Darling shrugged off her pack and began to place three small blocky explosive charges on the tripod legs of the radio tower. “Tower team, status?” crackled the LT’s voice. “Planting charges now,” Wake-Stewart replied. “Going over the ridge line to get a better view for cover.” “Negative, hold position,” Woolworth cut in. “The sentry drones have visibility on the ridge, remember?” “Okay, didn’t know that,” the redhead muttered.
“It was in the intel briefing. You did read the intel briefing, right?” asked the sergeant, not sounding amused. “Of course I did,” Wake-Stewart said, spotting a sentry drone and pressing herself against the hillside. The line was silent for a moment except for a skeptical throat-clearing from the sergeant. “Alright, I didn’t read it, I skimmed it, happy?” she said, rolling her eyes. Idena’s voice broke in. “We can talk about that later. The guard section is about to change now. Stand by for –“ Her transmission was drowned out by a deafening boom as the radio tower’s legs detonated in a ball of flame, bringing the spindly metal structure down in a heap of scrap. “What the – fracking hell, weapons free!” Idena shouted into the comms. “Corporal, what in the hells were you thinking?” “Sentry drone would’ve spotted the explosives,” Darling said with a shrug, visible only to Wake-Stewart as the two of them sprinted down the bank, shooting behind them at the now-agitated sentry drones. “Didn’t really have time to ask for permission.”
Idena clenched her jaw in frustration as she squeezed the trigger a third time, nailing the fire warrior she was aiming at directly through the sternum. Three of the four fire warriors who had been outside during the guard change were now dead, but the fourth had run inside to warn the others – exactly what she hadn’t wanted to happen. “We need to move in now, not wait for more of them to come out,” Raycraft said, and without asking, slung her lasgun and vaulted the hilltop. Woolworth looked like she wanted to punch someone, but she couldn’t argue with the logic, so her and Idena ran after Raycraft, reaching the door and stacking up on both sides. “Breach on three,” Idena ordered, having switched her rifle for a lightweight las-carbine repeater. “One – two – three,” and Raycraft shot the lock off the door. Simultaneously, the other door into the facility blew off its hinges with a bang as Darling detonated another small charge. “Tally-ho and all that,” the corporal said with a smirk as she shot two T’au in the process of rushing toward the door to investigate the noise. “LT, we’re in.”
The remaining T’au inside the facility proved little obstacle, either falling to lasgun shots or Raycraft’s combat knife. As she finished gutting the facility commander with her knife, she turned back to the LT. “Think that’s the last of them, ma’am. The report said there were 11, right?” The bang of lasgun fire came from the other side of the command center. “12,” Wake-Stewart said with satisfaction, kicking the dead T’au she had just shot. “See, I told you I paid attention to the intel briefing. Just the important parts.” Idena rolled her eyes. This would take some work, but at least the five of them could get the job done well enough. “Corporal, let’s blow this place and get out of here.” “We really should use names, not ranks, when you think about it,” Darling suggested helpfully. “There are two corporals, after all.” “Rachel, then,” Idena said with emphasis. “Rig this place to blow and hold the back-talking for later.” Four minutes later, they slid down the snowbank away from the facility and looked back at it, now barely visible in the near-total darkness. “And…now.” The facility exploded, sending chunks of concrete spinning down the hill as the rocky hillside above it slid down to cover it. “Lady Britannica’s favorite team of misfits one, Xenos zero,” quipped Wake-Stewart as she slung her rifle and the team began the trek back to Westbridge.

2024.05.12 14:49 BRRGSH Been playing for 7.3 hours, a quick no spoiler review for anyone in the fence

Steam doesn't accept reviews before launch and I have been writing mine, as I'm really liking it. There ya go:
It's fucking amazing. 3 years ago I discovered Homeworld Deserts of Kharak, then I played Homeworld 1 and 2 (remastered). In HW 3 the story is captivating, and the gameplay is unique. 3D movement is challenging and full of possibilities, now they've made it so you can use the terrain as cover, it's pretty neat. They switched from drawn like cinematics to actual full 3D visually stunning cinematics in the campaign. At first, I didn't like them, but then it grew on me, they really went all out.
I usually just play the campaign on RTS games, as the multiplayer is full of skilled nerds who will abuse me, but the mechanics feel so good I might hop in multiplayer RTS for the first time (apart from Halo Wars). War games look amazing as it's firefight type of game mode and I enjoyed the idea of it on the demo.
Things can improve, unit organizing feels overwhelming, the abilities need to be micromanaged, and it's just impossible in multiplayer as tactical pause is not available. I think all the improvements and abilities should be set to automatic and let the ship choose to use them when adequate, like the bomber (right clicking the ability turns it automatic) making the bombers use it when they're under fire.
Some controls feel clunky like the mine frigate, as it should be possible to draw the area to deploy mines easier, you have to take it to the place where you want it to start and then select the pattern and area. It should be two clicks, movement and then select area at the same time.
This being said, if you are a HW/COH/RTS fan, buy it, if you are interested in the RTS world buy it or if you want a solid campaign and a nice multiplayer RTS game, buy it.
Update: Removed the complain about organizing for the micro managment of abilities, as I just didn't know how to properly organize my fleet.

2024.05.11 22:14 Plantsonfire09 First Time Gardener! Installing Vego Raised Beds

First Time Gardener! Installing Vego Raised Beds
Hi y’all! Longtime lovefan of gardens, first time owning/tending my own. I’m in the PNW, zone 8b.
I’ve read a lot about till vs no till, cardboard vs weed barrier, the hügelkultur method and I’m still confused.
It’s worth mentioning that I may be selling the house next summer but I am living in the moment and installing these beds anyway because I need some damn joy in my life.
I am most interested in regenerative practices that will ultimately lead to better soil even if I’m not the one here enjoying it.
  1. How do I best prepare the ground for my raised beds?
  2. Do I need to level it?
  3. Is it too risky to grow things up the chain link fence since the fence is not in great shape? The poles are sturdy but the chain link isn’t attached in some places so I’m wondering if the weight of using it as a trellis will be problematic. I could probably add some supports pretty easily.
  4. I HAVE SO MUCH MULCH. My ex got mulch delivered 3 years ago against my wishes and promised to spread it around the edges of the yard. He did not, and being physically disabled limited my ability to deal with it until recently. It’s harder to move now because it’s all rooted together. Where and how can I use this in my garden beds?? Like which layer should it be? Can I use it in the leveling process AND around the beds, should I just cover the whole area with it before setting up the beds?
  5. Are the composting worm bins from Vego garden worth the trouble? Can I make my own that are just as effective? My garden will be right outside my kitchen so I’d love to dump scraps
I would really like to get these beds up and running this weekend or next weekend at the latest so there’s some advice that won’t work for me such as “Lay the cardboard and let it decompose for a month before adding mulch”
I know there are a lot of resources out there,I’ve reviewed most of them and I’m a person who does better with anecdotal advice specific to my situation. Thank you in advance!!!
I have already broken the news to my GP pup that the garden beds will be taking her fave sunning spot and don’t worry she’ll get lots of treats as consolation and she has a huge yard with many other spots 😂

2024.05.11 22:04 hfdez BF suffering from paranoid delusions

In January of this year my boyfriend of 15 years started having paranoid delusions. (Both 58, I am female)
All of his delusions are centered around me. They're all all sexual in nature and started with me supposedly having an affair which has intensified greatly over the last few months, and now his delusions include other people. What began is me having sex with his mechanic in our yard has turned into group sex and allowing others to watch. According to him, I have sex outside in view of the neighbors, in the dirt, in the rain, in the cold which has graduated to having sex on TOP of the shed, on TOP of the treehouse, and on TOP of fifth wheel. He can "see" us through walls and fences. This has evolved into me inviting numerous people over to the house, and usually they climb the wall separating us from the neighbors behind us. (I've never met these neighbors, and their house is much lower than ours, so the wall between the properties is probably almost 20 ft in). He believes that we all scale this wall (like Spider-Man??) to gain access to the property. He includes me in on this, although I obviously have access to the rest of the property but I choose to come in to the yard over this wall? According to him, we all have sex all over the place, and we now allow children to watch us????
He spends his nights hiding outside with some sort of weapon. They are normally metal pipes, boards covered in nails, or hammers, not guns or knives. His intentions are catching these unwelcomed visitors, and I presume he's going to hit them with one of these objects. This goes on for 6 to 8 hours most nights. He has also created booby traps all over the back of the property, burying boards covered in nails and digging holes that he covers with a towel and throws dirt over them. So far, I've gotten multiple nails in both of my feet, I'm just waiting for the day I step in a hole and break my leg.
He refuses any type of treatment, he believes that I want him to see a psychiatrist and/or therapist because I'd like to keep him sedated will I continue my imaginary affair.
I thought it was a great idea to install cameras around the property so he could have instant access to view the surroundings setting his mind at ease, which absolutely backfired. He spends hours and hours watching the cameras and sending me video clips or pictures that show my bad behavior. Of course there are never any individuals in these videos & pictures, but he's 100% convinced there are. When he shows me a picture or video, sometimes you'll see an object that might look like a human head, but it's usually so far away with a grainy picture that it's not clear. I'll actually walk back to that area with him and show him what he's seeing that he could interpret as a human. Or sometimes I'll show him that it's just a shadow and we'll review video from the previous days at the same time of day. Most of the time he admits that he's wrong, but insists that I haven't seen all of his videos which contain me, my lover, and all of these other people that now participate in our crazy sex life, which he refers to as his "proof", and tells me that he doesn't have to show me these videos.
There are several things that I think that could possibly be causing these delusions, based his medical history, but since he refuses to be seen or treated by a professional, we will never know. He had aj near fatal car accident when he was 17 that affected the front right lobe of his brain. He was in a coma for months and had to learn to walk and talk again. Also, his father died from brain cancer, maybe his issues are neurological? Many people I've talked to have addressed drugs, and their effect effect on the human brain. He's very secretive if he is/was, but considering his own history, as well as his family medical history, I think these reasons are possible explanations are quite plausible. In reality, it doesn't matter at this point, he refuses help so we'll never know what may have caused him to start having delusions.
My question is about what causes the individual with the delusions to focus on whatever the target of the delusions are? There's got to be some reason that he's fixated on this and not having delusions about other things? Is there a specific reason why he would focus on me? I just can't figure this out. My theory is that because of the way he has treated me in the past, this is how he feels I'm getting back at him. Is that ridiculous for me to think this? Since he's refusing treatment, obviously we're getting nowhere dealing with this at home.
I'm in the process of packing to move out. I feel super guilty about this, as I've always felt like just because somebody is ill, you don't leave them! But we're at the point now where I have to save myself, he's taking me down with him and he's making me crazy! He torments me night and day, sending me nasty text messages constantly. He's verbally, mentally, and emotionally abusing me and I can't take it anymore. I fought for him, I fought for us, I have no more fight left in me and if he's refusing treatment, that leaves absolutely no hope for us and I have to fight for my own sanity.
To top it off, he has had the gall to file eviction papers on me since I "don't respect him or his home". I could fight the eviction, but I have no desire to at this point. I want out.
I've spent a lot of time researching this, but I can't find the answer I'm looking for and that is to know why does somebody suffering from delusions focus so intently on one particular subject like in my case? I'm sure there are many people out there that have multiple subjects, but I'm just referring to my situation, of one person being the target.

Two Recent Puzzle Hauls...a photo essay. (Includes my 27 library book sale puzzle acquisitions.)
I don't usually post the everyday puzzles that I acquire...you know, a small Amazon purchase here or a Facebook Market Place find there, but since I enjoy browsing what other people are acquiring in their puzzle haul posts, I felt like maybe others might like to hear about some of the puzzles that I recently added to my ever burgeoning collection.
I will begin by sharing a bit about the new puzzles that I ordered from Amazon on their May the 4th Star Wars sale. After completing the Ravensburger Gelini Challenge, I felt empowered to take on another challenge puzzle at some point. Since Amazon had a great deal, The Mandalorian ($10.99) looks like it will be my next foe! I also couldn't pass up the deals on two other Star Wars puzzles, both from Buffalo. The four-pack (Manufactured in China) was just $7.99 and the Comic Book Collage (Manufactured in USA) was $5.99. I enjoy puzzling comic art, so this last one is a puzzle that I'm really looking forward to.
Amazon haul
I realize the vibrantly-coloured Buffalo Aimee Stewart puzzle seems oddly out of place in this collection. I'm sure we have all had that one puzzle that accidentally fell into our Amazon carts at one point or another. Perhaps you needed a few more dollars to get free shipping. You could have added something practical, like a tube of toothpaste, to bring your total up, but then you make the only correct choice there is and add a puzzle instead. Look at it as an investment in your well-being. My "oops!" puzzle was an easy decision to make. After having had such a wonderful time with "Cookies and Cocoa," (I think it was one of my favourite puzzles of the past year!), I just had to get "Tea and Cookies" as well. I anticipate it being equally as enjoyable, and this time, I will do my best to get a photo of it before I dump it all over the floor!
The second part of my haul comes via our town library's spring book sale.
You may remember awhile back when I was given a sneak peek at the puzzles that had accumulated for the book sale. While the pile looked like a lot, I was a little worried that there wouldn't be any good puzzles left by the time the actual sale rolled around, as the Friends of the Library had been carrying some puzzles upstairs to sell ahead of time in one of their pop-up sales.
The puzzle stacks from two months ago
Well, all of that worrying was for nothing, as that was then and this is now! A friend again gave me a sneak peek, just before the sale was set up, and this is what was available to go out on the sale tables. It is a different collection in some respects, but still plenty of puzzles to go around. There is a real treasure lurking in there, which I did not notice AT ALL when I took the photo. See if you can spot it! 👀 (Hint: The answer will be revealed in Group 5 below.)
Puzzle stacks right before being set out for the sale.
My son was volunteering, so I also got to snap a quick photo of the puzzles once they were all placed on tables in anticipation of the Friday/Saturday sale.
Puzzle tables nearly ready for sale.
And now, here we are! The moment you have all been waiting for! The library book sale.
When I attend a book sale like this, I feel both anticipation and dread. I am excited by all of the new puzzle possibilities, but the reality is that I get very overwhelmed when faced with a lot of options in a rush situation. My brain can no longer seem to focus on or process items, so my instincts are to either grab everything I see or nothing at all.
I was feeling particularly anxious when presented with this precarious plethora of puzzles (too much??? 😀), so I used one of my lifelines and cold-called a puzzle-loving friend of mine. We eventually switched to video so that she could help me make my selections. It was a whole lot of me holding a puzzle up to the camera, waiting for a response and then quickly moving on to the next box, while using a flaky internet connection. This person quite literally saved me from making some poor puzzle choices (though I am stubborn and still brought home a few of those) and pointed out some great ones to me as well. She shrieked with me over the wonderful finds and at times questioned my insistence on picking up others. I owe her big time! I should likely give her first pick from the selections we made together. In the end, I came home with 29 puzzles for my collection.
The puzzles you are about to see are not grouped in any particular order. I am simply posting them as they came off my camera roll. Everything was priced at $1 per puzzle.
Group 1
  • Eboo "Swedish Fishing Village." I have never done an Eboo before, can you believe it? Not likely my first choice of images, but it will do.
  • Springbok "It's a Tie!" Only the second round puzzle in my entire collection--both Springboks. Date on the box says 2020 so I'm wondering what I might inadvertently release when I open the lid.
  • White box "Lion Wooden Puzzle." I didn't even show this puzzle to my friend because I would have been able to hear her eyes roll back in her head at my selection. The box was totally crushed. I KNOW it's a "nothing" brand. I should have likely just put it back, but I opened the box and the pieces seemed decently made with some whimsies peeking back at me, so I brought it home for $1. It doesn't have a title, location of manufacture, bar code, piece count, warnings about tiny pieces, or any other identifying features, but it does have a difficulty level of 6A Challenger, whatever that means. I say, "Challenge accepted!"
  • Springbok Majestic "Lakeside." Not my typical choice for subjects, but a 500-piece wooden Springbok? I'm game to try that once!
  • Galison "Joy LaForme Winter Lights 12 Days of Puzzles." I was a little bit torn over this selection, both literally and figuratively. I absolutely love the puzzle images on these. The previous owner had carefully bagged up each puzzle individually, BUT the perforated doors that needed to be opened each day to access the puzzle were shredded. That was not enough to deter me from giving these puzzles a try this upcoming December. This is another selection where I sensed I would have been hit with a heavy eye roll, so I just snuck them into my bag unannounced.
Group 2
  • White Mountain "I Love New England." When I held this puzzle up, my friend told me I HAD to get it! It's New England!
  • Cobble Hill "Mid Mod Season's Greetings." I love Christmas and this just seemed like a great composition to puzzle.
  • Ravensburger "Bizarre Bookshop." I have done one other Colin Thompson puzzle, but it was a "cupboard" puzzle, not a "shop" puzzle.
  • Laurence King "The World of Shakespeare." The copy of "Jane Austen" that I completed was one that was not published in the Netherlands. I would like to give this one a try to see how the two puzzles compare. My friend told me to expect this one to be "intricate."
Group 3
  • Ravensburger "The Craft Cupboard." I previously completed "The Gardener's Cupboard" as A Review in Two Voices alongside u/NoDistrict8179. I loved the little details in that one and I'm not even a gardener, so imagine my excitement when the theme is now colourful crafts!
  • Castorland "Afternoon Tea." I haven't had the opportunity to puzzle a Castorland from Poland yet. I had previously seen this puzzle listed on our town's Facebook page where people can give away puzzles, books, or games they no longer want. I am assuming this may be the same puzzle making the rounds. The original poster commented something along the lines of " Yes, the snow-covered glass is as big a pain in the posterior as you think it will be." (paraphrased) Now I'm a little concerned.
Group 4
  • Buffalo Games "Lars Stewart Swiss Train Ride." I'm not entirely sure why I brought this home??? I have a feeling that I was just like, "Oooh! Colourful Buffalo!" and added it to my pile. I highly doubt I will end up doing this one and think that I will pass it along to someone else.
  • Re-Marks "Vintage Signs." Another brand that I have yet to try. The colours looked bright and it seemed like it would be an easier puzzle to complete.
  • Ceaco "Marjolein Bastin." These watercolour images always remind me of my mom, who had at least a couple of these images framed on her walls. I'm not a big Ceaco fan, but I think I can get through 300 pieces for this colourful, nostalgic puzzle.
  • Buffalo Games "Pine Sanctuary." Not my typical puzzle choice, but the image called to me. At 1000-pieces, I would have left this behind, but at 500-pieces, I am happy to bring it home so we can discuss why it captures my attention so.
  • Colorcraft "Cat on the Shelf." Ever since I found out that Colorcraft is no longer producing puzzles, I have been looking for some of the more eye-catching images to collect. My helpful puzzle friend said, "Do you really like that image???" and I replied, "Yes! Black cat! That's all I need to see." (We don't always have the same taste in puzzles and I tend to buy puzzles now and make decisions about whether I will really puzzle them later.)
  • Ravensburger "Cozy Cabin." Another puzzle that I'm sort of on the fence about image-wise, but will definitely puzzle some day when I am desperate. I have other images that I am more excited about, but I enjoy a good Ravensburger from time to time due to their familiarity and consistency.
Group 5
  • Wentworth "Village Sledging." This is it. This is the moment that I gave an audible gasp, which my puzzle friend mirrored with a gasp of her own the second she saw what I was holding. This moment right here is why I called her. Everyone should have a puzzle partner who understands the excitement of finding a Wentworth or any other "white whale" puzzle and is just as thrilled for you as if they had found it themselves. I never thought that I would see a puzzle like this show up in our small town library.
Group 6
  • Springbok "Six String Symphony." Just look at this behemoth! I have never seen or held a 2000-piece Springbok before and I was shocked at how much this thing weighed when I picked it up. (3 pounds 7.5 ounces for those who are wondering!) The box is 14"x14" and 2-inches deep! I don't do many puzzles over 1000-pieces, but this one will definitely hit the table at some point. Such a fabulous illustration.
Group 7
I hope you have had some time to get over the excitement of the Wentworth, because this is where things started getting exciting for me again, as I came across a handful of Wysocki images. I think that Young Patriots is going to be a real favourite!
  • Buffalo Games "Charles Wysocki Americana Collection: Waterfall Valley."
  • Buffalo Games "Charles Wysocki Proud Lil' Angler." Newer and just 300 large pieces, but still fun for a quick puzzling session.
  • Buffalo Games "Charles Wysocki Americana Collection: Young Patriots."
  • Buffalo Games "Prairie Wind Flowers."
Group 8
  • Mattel "Jane Wooster Scott Boise River Festival." This is just a really fun image. I have admired puzzles by this artist when other people have posted them, but this is the first time I have actually had one of my own to do.
  • Milton Bradley "Charles Wysocki Pumpkin Hollow." Those rows of pumpkins look fun to puzzle, don't they?
Group 9
  • Relish "Lakeside Vacation." This 63-piece puzzle is promoted as a dementia jigsaw. When I first flipped the box lid open, I was impressed with the thickness of the pieces and the fact that the puzzle can be built right in the box if someone really wanted to. What I was most excited about using it for though, was a game of puzzle chess, where instead of starting with the border done, like you would for a larger puzzle, you simply start and build from one random piece (giving each person an equal number of turns). I like this smaller size for playing with kids and was hoping to find a couple of puzzles that might work for this activity.
  • Buffalo Games "Droids." After helping to write the Buffalo Games Star Wars Puzzle list, you would think that I would have had enough of this kind of puzzle, but I couldn't pass up owning the three cutest droids in the galaxy!
Group 10
A couple of late contenders here. I didn't pick them up on my first pass, but when I went back to the table later and they were still there, I decided to bring them home.
  • Ceaco "A Profusion of Posies" + some kind of mystery puzzle. I lifted the lid off the box to see what the puzzle was like, since the box said, "Corkboard Silhouette." When I did that, I saw the cork-backed pieces, but there was another puzzle in a zip top bag in there as well. Now I'm super curious exactly what that one might be. It doesn't look like more than 200 pieces or so, so I think it should be easy to assemble if everything is there.
  • Ravensburger "Skandinavische Idylle Scandinavian." I originally passed this over because I am just not a landscape-type of puzzler. However, seeing this image get passed over by a number of people, I finally went back and picked it up. It's hard for me to refuse the Siren's call of a 500-piece Ravensburger, no matter what the subject matter is.
I'm sure that after all of this puzzle talk, many of you are wondering if I purchased any, you know, actual books at the BOOK sale. Why, how lovely of you to ask! Yes, I did happen to pick up a few bits to keep me entertained in the off chance that I'm not puzzling. Maybe you can figure out one of the other hobbies I enjoy from this selection.
Actual books that I purchased from the sale. (The book that doesn't have a title on the cover is The Flavor Bible.)
That's it. I'm at the bottom of my puzzle haul bag!
Enjoy your weekend, everyone! Thanks for reading!

2024.05.11 21:02 FloridaSun517 Few weeks into taking Viagra

Last month I started having issue getting hard. I'm 36 married with 2 young kids. Wife is very attractive and we are both in love, but timing seemed to be a major issue. By the time the kids get to bed and we get to bed, we are not at full energy and obviously the monotony can make things not as exciting. Well guys I ordered some generic Viagra from H.ims and things have turned around. I only take half the 5mg pill and the effect takes about a 30 minutes to kick in. Wow. I haven't been this hard in years, and my stamina is up too. Sometimes I have to concentrate on Cumming to just be finished, because I can just keep going and going. Also the viagra seems to stay in my system so I'm good for at least 12 hours to a full day (maybe this part is psychological) Another benefit has been awesome strong orgasims. I'm talking grab the bed throw my head back, explosions. I usually don't pull out, but I had a feeling I was ejaculating more then usual so last night I pulled out to finish on my wife's tits, and the volume of sperm was unbelievable. At least double what I'm used to throwing. 6 -7 heavy ropes. With really thick texture and white color. No more thin watery jizz. If your on the fence about trying Viagra, give it a chance. For me and my wife it's been an awesome last few weeks. Hope this review helps anyone.

2024.05.11 16:56 MettaRed Beware Live Nation upsales

Beware Live Nation upsales
I am SO GLAD research-before-purch’ is my thing because sure enough I was gonna drop an extra $78 bucks for two “VIP Lonestar Cabana access” described as follows; Come join us during each concert for a premium experience at the top of the general admission lawn. Enjoy a custom decored space, an exclusive bar, comfy lounge seating, private restrooms and personalized service.” As seen in the screenshots I google searched and found this immensely helpful review with photo! Now I am just hoping it won’t be a bad decision to have purchased MID-JUNE indoooutdoor seats in TEXAS. Pray for us 🥶

2024.05.11 06:56 itcouldbeworsetbh Sniffspot DISASTER

Has anyone else had a bad experience like this? What measures do you take to avoid stuff like this? Or was this just a big neon DANGER sign letting me know even Sniffspots aren’t safe for us because when things go wrong, people will get hurt and it’ll be my dogs who pay the price?
We’ve two fear reactive dogs, ages 2 &1, after they were attacked. We live in the city. It’s…a lot. Sniffspots have been our haven tho.
Until tonight, when I booked a place out in the country . Couple acres. Fully fenced. No having to meet host and place has lots of 5 star reviews. No red flags about triggers or hosts in reviews or listing. Yay.
Yeah, no. Now I’m questioning everything.
Tldr; we basically encountered two women pushing a crying baby in a stroller and then two men. They seem to be our hosts, or related to them in some way. Who knows.
Dogs freak, they’re still in car. But husband talks to them, the people go away, dogs calm, so we decide to stay. Huge mistake.
The women and crying baby then come back to the property, open fence gate and actually begin to enter the yard with us and our unleashed reactive dogs. OMG. Even after we yelled at them to stop and ran over there.
Now, at the same exact time this has all been occurring, the neighbor has let their two large dogs out to run free. As in into the street and along the fence lines to bark at us and our dogs.
So my fear reactive dogs are facing down a screaming baby, two women coming into the yard, us freaking out, and two strange dogs barking and running the fences.
All I keep thinking is how dangerous and irresponsible these people were. My dogs could and most likely would have been aggressive toward them. They had a BABY, ffs. My dogs could have gotten out that gate. The other two dogs could have gotten in and gone at my dogs. So much bad and horrible could have happened.
The women finally turned and left again. We somehow caught our two. The oldest was shaking and crying. The youngest was having a full blown panic attack. We basically threw them into the car and got the hell out of there.
I reported the host. Contacted Customer Support. Left them a poor review.
Now I’m like what do I do differently. Could I have? Was I not proactive enough? I guess I was thinking Sniffspots would be safe. But now I’m terrified for my dogs and legally, how we wouldn’t have been protected at all because of someone else’s stupidity.
There was 4 off leash reactive dogs and a baby, ffs. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I can’t go back and use them, can I. Ugh.
Update- Sniffspot was in contact fairly quickly. They refunded our visit plus an additional $5 promo, and said they’d be dealing with host as they could see how that was indeed dangerous. Ty all for the supportive words, understanding, and the super helpful advice!
Update to update- Host wrote a very nasty private message to us, basically saying our dogs are disgusting and it’s clearly all our fault as reactive dogs are due to bad owners. Reported him again with screenshots. 🤦🏻‍♀️
Sniffspot now saying they won’t do anything besides refund visit. Told us we’d just have to block host if he continued to send abusive messages. So, it’s heartbreaking but no more Sniffspots for us.

2024.05.10 21:48 thisguythisguyy A savemygrade review for anyone on a fence

Last semester during finals week I was seriously under pressure. I had a lineup of back-to-back exams and a super important presentation that was keeping me up at night. I was overwhelmed to say the least and knew I couldn’t handle it on my own. So I turned to save my grade, unsure of what to expect but desperate for any assistance.
To my surprise, the response from SaveMyGrade was fast and helpful. They immediately connected me with experts who provided general guidance and also gave resources and advice on how to deliver the presentation. The assistance I received overnight was literally transformative. I went from feeling anxious and unprepared to walking into my presentation with newfound confidence.
For anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation, facing tight deadlines and feeling the weight of academic demands, I cannot recommend savemygrade enough. Their ability to provide quick, high-quality assistance when it matters most is outstanding and genuinely praiseworthy.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to them too. Sometimes the customer support team can help you even if you are in the tightest time crunch.
