2024.05.19 08:48 Justwanttosellmynips Naruto Season 3: Revenge of the Snake. Pt.1

So this post is gonna be longer and a bit more put together than my last post. I'm taking notes as I watch. I'm also following the Netflix season list so this will be me follow season 3.
Also, like before I am doing my best to stay spoiler free. I'm not looking up spellings as well so if I misspell something, oh well.
  1. Naruto and pervy Santa's relationship is pretty weird man. Like my dude is lusting after a teenage boy who can transform in a woman. The whole "I'm an old, super powerful person but I act like a perv and a weirdo while I train the next generation." Is kinda over done. (Though this show is a bit old.)
  2. Does Gaara have a demon like Naruto? Cause that would neat.
  3. "Lee's injuries were too series and he can no longer be a shinobi." If they think I would believe that, they can geeeeeeet fuuucked. No body puts Lee in a corner.
  4. Is that what the 4th Hokage looks like? I swear to God if this mofo turns out to be Naruto's dad I will flip a table. That is waaay to cliche. At most I will accept a big brother, cause big brothers can be dicks. Like who puts a demon in a baby? Big brothers, that's who.
  5. Ok Giant frog is absolutely the best thing in this show.
  6. I loved the scene between Naruto and shorti Hinata. So dang cute. I hope Naruto realizes that she wants to jump his bones eventually.
  7. Naruto vs Neji. Is it bad that I want Neji to win? Dude is so cool and it absolutely sucks how he was raised to be a bodyguard for Hinata and lost all choice in his life. #JusticeforNeji. Ok, my boy Neji got justice. I feel better now.
  8. Kiba, Hinata and Ant-man's traineteacher lady is hot AF.
  9. Again my girl with her fan. Shit gets me everytime. Riding in on it like the silver surfer. lol I think she is my favorite so far.
  10. I think I've been sleeping on ol mate Shikamaru, dude is, as the kids would say, based. The music during their fight had me bopping. "Geez, I envy a cloud being so free..." -Shikamaru. Ok this dude is my mew favorite so far.
I think since my post is getting long ill leave it here and do another part later. I would love to answer questions
Stay fresh Cheese bags.

2024.05.19 08:43 SpurnedSprocket Who's your favorite character in the Ultimate Universe? (you can't pick Miles or Peter)

For me it's a tie between these three.
Kitty Pryde- I liked her fine pre-Ultimatum but post-Ultimatum she really shined. She completely stepped up as a leader, and showed what a capable bad-ass she can be, the best leader of the X-Men to date in the ultimate universe. My only real criticism about the character was, why on earth would she leave the X-Men to join the street level All-New Ultimates? I still don't get that to this day. (Honestly, I think I love this version of Kitty more than the mainstream version.)
Spider-Woman- I really liked how for once Peter had a clone, and everything actually turned out okay for said clone. She really shined, successfully leading her own life as Jessica Drew, even joining the Ultimates and becoming a S.H.I.E.L.D agent. I do wish she and Peter had more interactions together, since they were pretty much brother and sister, but it was pretty cool she stepped up and acted as a mentor and surrogate older sister to Miles. (Also straight up, I like this version more than the mainstream one.)
Reed Richard/The Maker- Okay, Reed was so-so when he was still Mr.Fantastic, but he really became a favorite after he went dark, and became the Main big bad of Ultimate Marvel after Magneto died. This was a major alteration to an iconic character and it was just completely well-done from top to bottom. Not only that but it really serves as a dark mirror of what 616 Reed could become without his family with him. All his life he'd been trying to do major good, only to go through pain for it, his piece of shit father, Fury framing him, Doom sabotaging the teleporter etc. Eventually he just snapped.

One day in September 1972, Fenglong Cui (Uncle Dragon) from the back street of our house came to our home as a guest. I was happy to hear that he worked at Fushun, near to Shenyang. Mom angrily explained to him: "Last year, Baiyang (my father) led home a fortune-teller, who said our Luyan is a monk fate, so Baiyang engaged him to that man’s daughter. Their family is in Shenyang, so Luyan was happy to hear that you live close to them."
Uncle Dragon said, "Ah! It is so, but I see that Luyan, and I are destined to be together!" Saying this, he walked into me, took off his hat, and pointing to his head, said to me: "Look! You resemble me! I'm bald, you're bald, and my name is Big Baldy!" He turned to mom and said, "From now on, we'll call him Second Baldy!"
https://preview.redd.it/rlkzob3vrb1d1.jpg?width=268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1b39703b31d4130f4bf373598372e8c6b84cd74a
Mom yelled, "His father's nickname is Third Baldy! Doesn't that mess up the generation! If you like, you can call him Second Baldy yourself. Big Brother-in-Law! Who do you think Luyan looks like? Like me or like his father?"
Uncle Dragon: "Hmm! This I must take a good look at! I think he looks like big belly Maitreya (see illustration 2.0-1)!"
Mom said in surprise, "You see him as a monk too!"
Uncle Dragon busily explained, "I don't know how to tell fortunes! I'm just talking about his rich, chubby look and posture!"
I asked, "Mom! What thing is a Buddha?"
Mom replied, "Buddha is not a thing! Oops! Look at my mouth! I'd better let your Uncle Dragon explain it to you!"
Uncle Dragon said, "Let me think of something to say. Buddha was born from a lotus flower."
I asked, "What's a lotus flower?"
Mom said, "He's never seen a lotus flower. Here, Mom will draw one for you!"
I looked at it and said, "It's a peach flower!"
Uncle Dragon said, "Peach flower is fine."
Mom shouted, "How can peach flower work! Other people's Buddhas are born from lotus flowers, but my son's Buddha grows on a peach tree."
Uncle Dragon argued, "He grew up and smoothed himself over; besides, there is indeed a saying that peach flowers can also give birth to Buddhas."
Mom pondered for a while and said, "It seems that there are sayings about peach blossom Buddhas, peach wood wedges and peach wood swords. Let's not talk about monks. Luyan! Your Uncle Dragon was a soldier and knows a lot! Let him tell you a story!"
I said, “Uncle Dragon, tell me a story!”
Uncle Dragon said, “Good! Then I'll tell you a story, ‘Peach Flower Catastrophe’. (Annotation, the story is about a Peach Flower Buddha.)
2.1 Peach Flower Catastrophe 1
Constant Fair is an orphan since childhood in Publican Liu’s pharmacy as a long laborer. He was not smart since he was a child, score of school was not that good, and always made mistakes when he grew up and learned how to do business. However, Publican Liu not only took good care of him in every aspect, but also always tolerated and harbored him, and did not hold him accountable for his faults. Constant Fair had never met Publican Liu since he was a child; he also often wanted to see him to salute and thank him in person, but it was always out of place, and was disrupted by some strange and unexpected arrangements.
Constant Fair knows, Publican Liu is eccentric, often go out to travel, leisure time in the study of ancient books, do not like to see people. In addition, Constant Fair also knows that he is not good health, there is a kind of what, no one can say the strange disease.
https://preview.redd.it/hkvjoelzrb1d1.jpg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=183a68c205f22b0c434cb202c2e2f17a48e39346
One day, Publican Liu commissioned a matchmaker to propose marriage to Constant Fair, to betroth his daughter, Peach Flower Girl, to him. He heard that Peach Flower Girl is intelligent, beautiful, and her medical skills are even more brilliant, to her matchmaking are more than to kick through the threshold, is not marriage. The matchmakers showed him articles written by Peach Flower Girl, told him what she had done, and created opportunities for him to meet her, so have a chance to see her in person. Constant Fair saw that Peach Flower Girl was beautiful; the articles she wrote were clearly organized, with wonderful words; the affairs she had done were all skillfully arranged. Constant Fair thought he was not worthy of her, so he refused. As a result, he heard later that the Peach Flower Girl was also unwilling and called him stupid.
Some days later, again, Publican Liu asked the matchmaker to marry Peach Flower Girl to Constant Fair and tried to persuade him. Constant Fair finally said, "As long as Peach Flower Girl is willing, I am willing." As a result, Constant Fair heard that Peach Flower Girl was not willing again.
After some time, Publican Liu asked the matchmaker to marry Constant Fair and Peach Flower Girl again, saying that, this time, Peach Flower Girl had already agreed. Constant Fair heard that Publican Liu and the matchmakers had been trying to persuade Peach Flower Girl to marry him, and that the father and daughter had quarrelled over the matter often recently. He thought to himself, "This is that Peach Flower Girl let me to delay for a few days so as to let her father have a rest and a few days of fun, and then it is me to reject it. Constant Fair then said to the matchmaker, “I'll think about it then”. After a few days, he told the matchmaker: “No.”
In this way, Publican Liu and the matchmakers used many ways to set up the marriage between Peach Flower Girl and Constant Fair, which was a long time coming, but just not possible. Time passed, Peach Flower Girl and Constant Fair both passed the age of normal marriage.
(2)Death with Eyes Open
In one middle night, a matchmaker who had become friends with Constant Fair came running to tell him, “I don't know what's wrong! Old Publican Liu is acting like crazy! He said he would ‘die with eyes open’, until he sees you and Peach Flower Girl get married, and enter honeymoon house. He also secretly let people in the preparation of a small inner courtyard, to you and the Peach Flower Girl locked inside; not married to not let you two out. I thought, ‘What's going on here! I had to tell you!’ I also found out that they know that you and I are friends and have sent someone to watch me, so I found a chance to sneak out. With that said, I must return, in case of that I am discovered.”
https://preview.redd.it/gtaf7xh2sb1d1.jpg?width=1216&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cfdd24204119d192b0620215961d75a053a7440e
Constant Fair was shocked when he heard this and thought, “This can't be done! Then I ruin Peach Flower Girl for life! No! I must Leave!” That night, he escaped from Publican Liu's pharmacy. He didn't go back to his hometown because he was afraid that Publican Liu would send someone to catch him.
Constant Fair lived a life of anonymity, wandering around. Of course, he also needed to make a living, and later he worked as a shopkeeper in a pharmacy. For the first few years, the business did quite well, and the business grew. Later, he realized that someone was working against him in business and went to resign with the proprietor. The proprietor said, "Now, our business is so big that we can fight with them! I trust you, and I don't blame you if you lose money." Constant Fair said, “I don't want to fight with them. To tell you the truth, I suspect those opponents are related to one of my former benefactors”. The proprietor understood the matter well and said: “In that case! I cannot force you.”
Constant Fair left the pharmacy and wandered to another place, where he found another job in a pharmacy. Something similar happened to the last job. He found out that there were against him in business, and still thought that those people were related to the former boss Publican Liu, so he voluntarily gave up the job again.
In this way, Constant Fair changed job after job, always feeling that someone was struggling with him and unwilling to fight back against his opponents, but his bad reputation spread, and he couldn't find a job. So, he went back home.
On his way to his old village, Constant Fair met a messenger. The messenger asked him, "Do you know Constant Fair from Fair Family Village?" He replied, “I am!” The messenger said, “The people in your home asked me to tell you that your father passed away.” Constant Fair thought to himself, “I have been an orphan since I was a child, and replied, “You are mistaken! I'm not the person you're looking for!” The messenger verified, “XXX County, YYY town, Fair Family Village, the name is Constant Fair!” Constant Fair replied immediately, “Yes! It is me!” The messenger added, “The news that the people in your hometown asked me to convey to you is that your father has passed away. I'm just a messenger, and the rest, I don't know!”
At this, Constant Fair felt uncomfortable in his heart and sensed that something was wrong. When he arrived home, he inquired if there was anyone else in the village also name Constant Fair. He found out, in his county, only has one Fair Family Village, and in the past 40 years, only his name is Constant Fair in the Village. For several days in a row, he felt a tightness in his chest.
(3)Peach Flower Fortune
On this day, Constant Fair went to the marketplace for a walk. From a distance, he saw a group of people surrounding a fortune-teller. Constant Fair never believed in ghosts, gods, fortune-telling, and the like. But somehow! That day he stood at the back of the queue and wanted to listen.
The fortune-teller saw Constant Fair immediately and said, “The one at the end of the line is in a hurry! Let him come first! Those in front wait a while.”
Constant Fair said, "I'm not in a hurry, I can wait."
The fortune-teller said, "Come over here if you're told to!"
Constant Fair walked up to the fortune-teller, and before he could say anything, the fortune-teller said, “Congratulation! You've got Peach Flower Fortune (Note 1)!”
https://preview.redd.it/w7k1s6u4sb1d1.jpg?width=1352&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88d8961681e9a1da794c9c17bc2d50ffe8f91833
Note 1, what is peach flower fortune? Equivalent to the Western world's "The Chosen One" (i.e., the Golden Boy, Adam), except that the peach flower fortune is expressed in terms of the woman's (Eve, Jade Girl) beauty, talent, rich, and power to express this concept. How did the fortune teller see it? The Chinese fortune-teller profession and the Chinese juristic teacher profession use the same set of books. The Golden Boy and Jade Girl (Figure 2.1-3; see 10.9 Godly Trinity) is the basic model in that book, and the Peach Flower Catastrophe is one of the main cases in that book.
Constant Fair replied, “I don't know! I can still have Peach Flower Fortune!”
The fortune teller asked, "In the past, when you worked for someone, was there a proprietor who treated you very well, but you never saw him?"
Constant Fair replied, "Yes!"
The fortune-teller said, “He is dead, and with eyes glaringly open!”
Constant Fair heard, feel the head "buzz" a moment, the sky spinning, earth gravity vanishing, organs are moving. When he calmed down, felt his chest clogged, as if pressing a stone, heard the crowd talking about really God's calculations, a look to know! No wonder that he was said to be in a hurry!
Constant Fair turned around and started to walk home. The fortune-teller said: “Wait, I haven't finished yet! I think you really don't know! When Peach Flower Fortune comes, no one can stop it, there's no other way. You can only obey the wish of that old proprietor of yours and go to his house quickly. Even if you must spend all your money to pay for the betrothal gift, you still must gain their favor, wed their daughter, and enter honeymoon house, before you can be relieved of this Peach Flower Catastrophe.”
Constant Fair reached into his pocket and realized he had no money with him, so he said, "I'll go back to get the money and return it to you."
The fortune-teller said, “No need, I don't want your money.”
Constant Fair felt strange and asked why he didn't want his money. The fortune-teller said, “To tell the truth! Judging from your face, you won't live more than a hundred days. It's unlucky to spend dead people's money!"
Constant Fair said, "Thank you very much! I will definitely repay you when I have the chance in the future."
The fortune-teller added, "Wait! On the way, you must drink more water; drinking water will renew your life. Also, you must keep walking; if you fall, you may never get up again!"
Thanking again, Constant Fair went home, packed his bags, and went on his way that night.
A few days later, Constant Fair felt his chest getting more and more clogged, his stomach gurgling, and problems with his stomach and intestinal motility; sores began to grow on his skin. Whenever he arrived at a place, he first looked for a well, drank his fill, then filled two jugs of water to carry with him, ate something and immediately rushed on. In this way Constant Fair traveled day and night, rushing to Liu's medicine farm.

2024.05.19 08:14 Curiouslittlelizard Active Shooter Scare

My family and I were at the mall today. When we came out of Victorias Secret we were getting ready to head to the center of the mall to take my daughter to one of the train rides they have for kids. Suddenly, I see 3 guys running looking back. I thought nothing of it, maybe just messing around. But then I see a woman running past us, yelling at everyone to run out, gesturing that there was a gun. I look around and everyone is still confused, unsure of what to do. Then we see a big wave of people coming from the center running. All yelling, “RUN!!!” I grab my daughter, she’s 3 and weight 35 lbs. I run for the exit, telling my mom and younger brother to run now. I had so much adrenaline running through me, I just ran until I was out of the mall and across the street. There was a cop there, everyone was yelling “active shooter” at him. It was traumatizing. I remember looking back at my mom and brother as I was running, yelling at them to run. My mom was confused as to what was going on as my brother pushed her along with him telling her to run and ask questions later. I didnt wait for them, and just got out. I had to get my daughter out of there. The cop later updated us and said it was a group of Juveniles that got in a fight, it got out of hand and someone ended up pulling a hand gun. It caused a huge wave of chaos. I think I’m still in shock, because I feel like I want to cry but haven’t yet. I’m thankful nothing happened, but now I’m afraid. I need to get in better shape, is my only thought. I already run, and weight lift 5x a week. But when I was running I felt like I was out of gas. It makes me want to train harder. My mom says she was impressed by how quickly I scooped up my daughter and ran for the exit. So I am proud of myself for getting her out of that situation. But this had opened up a new door of fear, and I don’t like it. I’m hoping I can work through this. I don’t want anything to happen to my daughter, and it makes me sad because all I was thinking as I was running was, “they’re gonna shoot you in the back of the head” It was dark, and I’m sad and angry that I’ve experienced this type of fear. A fear I’ve never had. I hate this.

Salam brothers, I am 18 years old shia who is well... curious about learning about the world and Islam. I do this primarily from information on the internet build on the foundation which my momin father gave me. Just a little background for the question.
My question is that okay from an educational perspective to take information from sunni sources or should I just stick to shia sources?! I say this because ik there is a difference in what is classified as an hadith but im not too sure of how big of a difference it is. My main worry is being fed misinformation from sunni sources and since the internet is primary sunni sources fact checking it all would time, leaving in a precarious situation hence this post.
JazakAllah to anyone who answers.

2024.05.19 07:58 BlueEyesBlueSkies1 What would be the best car for a sophomore high school looking to go fast in a manual that isn't super unreliable?

So I'm a high school sophomore (soon to be junior) who is getting super into cars. I'm gonna have my license in 2 months and really want to start looking at cars. I'm getting a job this week so my budget is gonna be max 12k. I've already considered a few cars including
350z, 2011 135i, 128i, 2006 mustang gt premium, civic si manual (dont like look and want faster (im greedy asf))
Big things for me are good speakers, not crazy expensive maintenance (BMW 😬), and I really want to have the fast feeling. I have only driven automatic but manual looks and seems like so much fun that I really just wanna go for it. This will probably just be my weekend car and on weekdays I can take a prius so I wouldn't be putting crazy miles on it or anything. My brother has a m235i with a valvetronic muffler and it sounds phenomenal which is why im looking into bmws but the reliability problems seem so real like oil gasket, water cooler, thermostat, etc. I love the look of the 135i but the reliability seems shaky even with the n55 so I'm looking into the 128i which seems far more reliable with the n52. is that true? is it worth just going for the 135i since it won't be a daily and seems like so much fun? I also saw the mustang gt and the interior looks perfect. I love the look two and the horsepower, sound is pretty nice on the v8 and it seems quick. I've heard that Z's are the best option but every single one I see is beat to shit or would blunder in a smog check. I really need some advice on the other ones im looking at or some new options. also i don't plan on doing crazy modding but i just think the n54 is a bad idea which is why im tempted to go n55 135i.
I know everyones gonna say miatas but i dont like the look of miatas lol and interioexterior is a big deal for me. I've also already considered wrx, gti, etc, i dont like the look of those.
Could you guys tell me what i should check out and concerns i should have with what i am looking at?sorry for the rant but thanks for yalls help. im in california btw.

…..
FTR vs ??
The debuting tag team known as FTR get the opening match tonight and quickly take down two local talents. A Shatter Machine finisher inside of five mimutes makes a very decisive win for them.
Cash and Dax show respect to their opponents by checking on them and helping them to their feet afterwards.
…..
Dax grabs a mic and thanks ROH for giving them a chance to remind everyone what they are capable of. Cash said its once again time to show that they are the best in the world!!
…..
Nic Nemeth with Robert Stone. vs Chad Gable
Two former amateur champions here, and they let it all hang out. The fans eat it up, taking turns chanting for both men. Chad's youth does seem to give him the edge.
The match begins to turn in his favor and that's when Nemeth starts cutting corners. Bending the rules gets him back in the match. A distraction by Robert Stone gives Nemeth a chance to try to steal another one, but never gets the chance.
Rey Fenix slides into the ring and nails him with a Fenix Driver!! Chad Gable smiles as Fenix rolls back out. He quickly goes for the cover and picks up a big win!!
…..
Renée Paquette stops Fenix backstage and asks what he is doing here. Fenix tells her that sftrr his brother left here, he realized that he had left unfinished business. So, he came to ROH to finish business with Nic Nemeth and anyone else that wants to get in his way!!
…..
Austin Theory is lounging in a Sky box, surrounded by beautiful women. One of them is actually feeding him grapes by hand. He glances to his phone when it rings. He shoos the women out, and answers it.
After a few moments of silence on his end, where he is clearly thinking about what he is being told, he agrees to meet someone after the show.
…..
Gunther walks to the ring unannounced, and asks for a microphone. He looks around at the crowd and smiles darkly.
“I have been around the world, and have seen many things. I have won and lost many many Championships. I founded both Ringkampf and Imperium. I have seen that now my two creations are at odds, and that will be dealt with in short order.
But I have seen what disrespect of the Sacred Mat has also accomplished here recently. Damian Priest, you have no Honor.. and this is the home of Honor!! Let me put this simply - I am calling for you to put the International Title on the line against me!!
…..
ROH International Title Match Champ: Damian Priest vs Claudio Castagnoli
A brief shake of hands as this highly anticipated showdown starts. Claudio's techniques and raw power matches up nicely with Damian's strength and martial arts prowess.
Neither man wants to give an inch and the battle is on!! As commentary mentions that this match up could Main Event a PPV anywhere in the world, things begin to break down. Gunther storms to the ring and attacks both men!!
The referee throws out the match, but the three men don't even notice. They are way too busy throwing fists with each other.. it is a pier 6 brawl as they used to say!! Security plays hell trying to separate them.
…..
Video from after the Revolution PPV is shown. It shows Malakai Black and friends celebrating his World Title victory! A congratulatory phone call from his wife, who's working in another company, makes him even happier!!
Tony Schiavone says we will be hearing from Malakai at the beginning of the next episode of Ring of Honor.
…..
As the credits roll, we see Austin Theory getting into a long white limousine. Soon as he closes the door, it drives away.

2024.05.19 07:51 Wimmerswag Darktide performance on Xbox Series S

Hello.
Around 6 months ago I tried to get my brother into Darktide because he was a big fan of Vermintide 2.
He genuinely enjoyed his gameplay experience of what little we played, however he stopped playing it almost immediately due to performance issues.
I thought he was over exaggerating, but I went to look at his POV, and it was extremely bad. Like, below 30 FPS bad.
I tried to direct him to the performance mode, however when we played, performance mode was not an option on Series S.
So to any Darktide players on Xbox Series S, has the game been optimized/fixed since then? Is there now a performance mode on Xbox Series S? Does the game run at an acceptable level?
I would've have researched it myself, but all relevant posts are over 7 months old.
Any help is appreciated.

2024.05.19 07:37 littlefox14 Postpartum Body issues

I am 6 weeks postpartum today. I'm really struggling with my postpartum body. This is my first baby and I wasn't expecting to struggle so much with how I look postpartum. Before pregnancy, I was a gym rat and a dancer, but during my pregnancy I had to stop almost all activities because of health concerns. I was big on being fit and feeling healthy, I was 130lbs and really proud of my muscles I had built. Now I'm 170+ lbs and I'm getting so anxious about getting back in the gym and getting back to being active in general. I haven't been cleared to do more than walk. I obviously love what my body did: it gave my husband and I our wonderful son and I love him more than words can describe. I'm proud of myself for being so patient with the pregnancy and not being able to be active at all. But now I'm having a hard time with not being cleared to be active when I feel good enough too be active. I'm also struggling with being able to fit into any of my clothes except for maternity clothes, which are all wintecold weather stuff. I'm in the 4th trimester is spring/summer and dont have much for it. We have my youngest brother's high school graduation coming up and I'm sort of freaking out about not having anything to wear to it that a) fits and I'm comfortable in and b) is breastfeeding friendly if it does fit. We live 2 hours from the nearest mall in a super rural area, so shopping is really limited to online. I'm frustrating because I want to be able to try stuff on and get a sense of my new style as a mom but can't really. I won't even go into how no one warned me about how deep stretch marks suddenly look after giving birth. But they are looking better. I just don't feel good in my body right now and I want to. I want to say I love those stretch marks because they mean I grew my child. I want to love all the weight I've put on because it means I nourished a growing baby. I want to be okay with my muscles having a atrophied because it means I rested my body for my baby and I's health. But I'm really struggling with all of it and I can't pretend like it doesn't upset me. My husband keeps telling me I'm beautiful, and just feel like he's telling me what he thinks I want to hear. But what else would he say? If he told me I look fat, I'd be pissed off about that, too. I'm just struggling to be patient with myself. I've been patient for 40 weeks and I've just run out of patience. Advice on how I can gaslight myself into being okay with my body and patient till I get cleared to do gentle exercises?

2024.05.19 07:36 Acceptable-Caramel33 Opinions on Amps/CT Sounds/Taramps

First off, 2002 GTI 1.8T, 2 door with rear seats removed. Mechman 370 Amp Alt. XS Power D4700 in the engine bay, D3100 in the trunk. Alpine CDE-175BT, 5v preouts. 2 CT-Sounds Meso 12" 1500 Watt RMS, wired to 1 ohm, in ported box tuned to 35 hz. Previously powered by Taramps Bass 3k. 4 Sets Meso 2 Way Components, 2 in rear, 2 in QLogic Kick Panels. CT-Sounds CT80.4AB for speakers. DS18 BKVR Bass Knob. Kilmat where needed (I'm aware, not the best, but seemed to hold up for my needs in the previous car).
My old beater Grand Am took a dump on me, do I pulled the good out of it and decided why not throw it in my little GTI and do it better this time.
Still running wiring and getting speakers installed, plus waiting on my little brother to build me a new box since the old one got excited and ended up wet.
I'll be doing the Big 4 with Sky High 1/0 Gauge OFC.
Planning for doubling everything up and having 2 1/0 runs from Alt to Battery, both power and ground. 2 1/0 runs from front to rear battery. 2 1/0 grounds, yadda yadda, you get the drift.
Question is, my taramps is a few years old at this point and I'm thinking of upgrading. I'm eye balling the newer Big Boss 3 from Taramps. But I've also thought about going with CTs ATv2 3000.1d.
As the title suggests, looking for opinions. I know brazillian boards are hungry little power houses. I also know CT gets theirs from China. This is more for a daily driver set up than competition.
Or sell me on something else. Budget is kinda up in the air, although I'd prefer keeping it under $600.

2024.05.19 07:36 donquixote_tig WR Rankings and Evaluations (long)

Here I have included my pre-draft, post-draft, and fantasy football WR evaluations (shortened for brevity). This is regarding real life skillsets and performance, and the fantasy football ranking is for redraft. I believe that the IRL evaluation is good enough for dynasty as well, even when skillsets don't match fantasy productive ones.
Pre-Draft Rankings:
Tier 1:
These are all players who I don’t want to delve into. They are the safe, elite prospects who don’t have any red flags, which is what differentiates them from the tier below.
  1. Marvin Harrison Jr.
  2. Malik Nabers
  3. Rome Odunze
Tier 2:
Each of the three players in this tier are elite, but have one or several red flags and uncertainty to their game.
  1. Troy Franklin
    1. Troy Franklin is a smooth route runner with great deep speed (moves like Ridley), but what truly makes him elite is his much underrated awareness. He has an impeccable feel for both zone and the defensive back’s mind, allowing him to slide into space and break out of the reach of corners, and he also holds an elite release package paired with great ball tracking. From what I’ve seen, Franklin is also the most willing and able blocker in this class. His biggest flaw to me is not his slight frame, but rather his lack of extension when going for catches, perhaps due to his small hands, which allows for random drops and makes him more susceptible to drops through contact.
  2. Xavier Worthy
    1. While Worthy has risen in draft boards, the respect for him has fallen after his record breaking 40 yard dash. Worthy might have speed, but he is not all speed. Worthy has been an elite player his whole career, with an extremely early breakout and impressive freshman season. He is often dinged for his ball tracking, an important trait for deep threats, but I don’t see it. Worthy also offers elite YAC ability. He has the mental capability to be used as a consistent threat out of motion, as I don’t see him having the same release package as Franklin. The flaw with him is both being and playing small.
  3. Brian Thomas Jr.
    1. BTJ is built in a prototypically phenomenal way. He possesses elite speed, size, and agility for that size – the makings of an elite receiver. He was also an elite producer in college. Thomas Jr. doesn’t necessarily show a lot of flaws in his game (aside from a few small things) – rather he doesn’t show a lot of anything at all. His flaw is that there is not enough information about his game out there to make the evaluation process thorough enough. Questions remain about his route tree and ability to play a variety of roles in an offense. At the very least, he steps into a team as an elite deep threat. In my opinion, Thomas Jr. offers a higher ceiling than Odunze, Worthy, and Franklin, but there’s just not enough for me to look at here.
Tier 3:
Tier 3 contains three players who show a lot of good things on film, but also have almost horrible production profiles.
  1. Ladd McConkey
    1. McConkey reminds me of Christian Kirk stylistically. He possesses elite quickness and solid route running with very quick, twitchy steps. It is clear that he knows how to keep defensive backs guessing. I also noted that he shows strong YAC abilities and the willingness to seek out contact.
  2. Adonai Mitchell
    1. He might have diabetes, and he might be lazy, but AD is smooth. I thought he’d run a 4.55, and at that point I had him at 6 I believe. AD has sneaky athleticism and deceptive quickness, and a very encouraging frame to pair with this. While I don’t see a lot of flaws in his game, I will say that he has one of the worst analytical profiles I have ever seen.
  3. Roman Wilson
    1. Wilson is my favorite player in the draft, and I have been waiting for him to join the NFL for years. While I am not a Michigan fan, I have watched a lot of Michigan and Ohio State games, and fell in love with Wilson’s play. He is an elite athlete, with a willingness to go up strong for balls, and is simply just good at the game of football. I believe he would have shown a lot more if he was on a more passing oriented offense.
Tier 4:
Tier 4 has three players who are both older prospects and also have questionable production profiles.
  1. Ricky Pearsall
    1. Slick Rick is definitely slick. He has arguably the greatest catch in CFB history, and is a silky route runner with great athleticism and burst. He seems to have a great understanding of how to run routes. Pearsall is a 5 season player, with non-elite production in any of those years – however he has shown improvement in every one of those years. He is not the tenth best receiver in this class right now – I only have him this low because of his age. However, I don’t think he has the production or the film to strongly suggest that he’s better than any of the players I listed before, which is why the age can lower him. Tank Dell was a 24 year old rookie, but his film would be enough for me to raise him higher.
  2. Xavier Legette
    1. Legette has elite speed paired with elite size. I will not say he has elite athleticism however. His agility is not nearly good enough for me to give him that title. This is where I feel people tend to misterm athleticism – by equating it to a size/speed combo. Legette also only had one year of elite production. Legette is great at the catch point, with solid hand technique and vertical ability, but he leaves a lot to be desired with his release and his hip flexibility. He is not yet a strong route runner. I don’t really mind his late breakout too much – he has a lack of refinement in his game that would explain this as he is a growing player, but here’s some good scouting: what I truly can’t deal with is his accent.
  3. Malik Washington
    1. Washington is another late producer like Legette, with only elite production in his 5th year. However, I believe that was due to him playing his time out in an awful Northwestern offense. Washington left Northwestern not through a transfer, but because he finished his degree early. He might be small, but he is incredible at football, and offers elite YAC ability to pair with his excellent feel for zones and space. The only reason I have Washington this low (although it is not low) is because I know he will be overlooked in the NFL and will have a difficult path to success.
Tier 5:
The players in this tier will likely all have a role in the NFL, or at least the chance to have a role in the NFL.
  1. Ja’Lynn Polk
    1. Polk bores me a bit, but he’s good. I believe he is a useful asset to any team in the NFL. He plays with a lot of grit, which teams should like, and is all around a solid and smart player.
  2. Malachi Corley
    1. The self proclaimed “YAC King” is exactly that. In fact, his YAC ability is so good that it’s almost as if he was a running back playing receiver. Oh right. He is. That being said, Corley has the agility to become a great receiver. While his switch is probably due to wanting the longevity and paycheck associated with the position, I don’t doubt that he has the ability to make up for his late start. He’s not really there yet, so his athleticism only gets him this high.
  3. Keon Coleman
    1. Coleman is in the classic “Alpha” mold. If you’re wondering why he’s so low, I just don’t like that mold. I don’t care about his 40 time, he seems fast enough to me. In my opinion, Coleman does not have the agility and hip flexibility required to run great routes. That’s why I just don’t see him learning route running. He offers elite vertical leaping ability, body control, and good hands to match this, but he’s not Mike Evans. I don’t think Coleman has no path to success in the NFL – he’s still a decent player, just not my kind of player. The landing spot will matter with this one.
  4. Jermaine Burton
    1. I don’t like Burton. There’s just something about his face – he looks like a less creepy Spencer Rattler. However, I’d say he’s a good player. He has solid athleticism, and I believe he has the ability to run a variety of routes, despite working in a vertical offense. Burton has great hands, albeit a short catch radius, and plays very strong. There’s definitely things to like about his game – and who knows, maybe being a bad character is a good trait.
  5. Javon Baker
    1. Baker strikes me as someone who loves football, with an alpha receiver mentality. He might know too much – while he has great route running, he sometimes seems to almost spam fakes and make unnecessary movements that leave me confused instead of the corner. That’s not really a big concern for me though. He is great at the catch point as well, showing great determination and body control. I’m not sure he has the athleticism to truly be elite, and while the Big 12 is a decent conference, the defensive backs in his film seemed to be mostly bums, but with a good landing spot I think he has the ability to shine. I’m rather surprised that he decided to transfer out of Alabama, but whatever, it worked out.
  6. Jalen McMillan
    1. The much underrated and overlooked third brother. McMillan looks soft, but he has good athleticism and good flexibility. He’s also a good route runner with good body control. I’d say he’s good. With players like him, it really depends on how much the team that drafted him believes in him. I don’t doubt that it will be easy for him to get hidden in a deep WR room.
Tier 6:
Tier 6 are the guys who I think are good players but don’t think they will get a chance to show that, with play strength and size being concerns. I think they can work despite this, but I doubt NFL front offices will.
  1. Jamari Thrash
    1. Thrash is a smooth player with great route savviness, but is complete trash when it comes to contact (easy pun intended). Physical corners can easily thrash him around during his routes.
  2. Jacob Cowing
    1. Cowing probably has the highest likelihood of success among the three, as he possesses the best release package which is important for small receivers. However, he’s no Tank Dell. In fact, he IS Tank Dell, just worse at every aspect of the game. He’s arguably more athletic however, and showcases elite explosiveness.
  3. Ainias Smith
    1. Explosive with quick feet, but is small and plays small. I think he has a lot of ability, but he’s not the type of player that NFL teams want to trust.
Tier 7:
Tier 7 contains players who don’t have it right now, but could have it with some development.
  1. Tez Walker
    1. There was a lot of hope for Tez coming into the 2023 season, and he delivered. Delivered very little. While he showcased absolutely zero route running savvy, he has the elite athleticism to make up for this, and is not completely inflexible. I do want to blame the college football body and UNC for some of his failures, and he wasn’t really all that bad. I just don’t think he’s quite there yet.
  2. Luke McCaffrey
    1. McCaffrey has great athleticism and elite lineage, but that’s about it. He wasn’t bad in college, but played for Rice. He’s in the middle of his learning curve for the position after converting from being a mediocre QB, and I’m sure he can figure it out – I’m not out on him.
  3. Johnny Wilson
    1. Wilson is absolutely incredible for his size. He is a fluid athlete with solid speed, and more than decent route running. Unfortunately, at his size he needs to be excellent at the catch point and with contested catches. He is not. In fact, it’s his weakness – he is extremely soft, unlike his hands. He’s the odd case where I think he’d be much more successful if he dropped half a foot in height. If you combined the best of Johnny and Keon, you’d have a possible goat receiver.
Tier 8:
Tier 8 has guys who piqued my interest with their play, but are likely going nowhere. Gould is small, Bub Means is named Bub Means, Vele is an old man, and Coker is slow and played for Holy Cross.
  1. Anthony Gould
  2. Bub Means
  3. Devaughn Vele
  4. Jalen Coker
Tier 9 is all of the guys I haven’t watched enough of that didn’t make this list due to that.
Tier 10 consists of the players who are, in my humble opinion, bad.
Tier 10:
  1. Brenden Rice
    1. My evaluation of Rice has nothing to do with his father. I truly do believe that he is the second worst receiver in the class. In fact, I think he will obviously get a shot because of his father, and that he has the work ethic and connections to improve dramatically as a player. However, as of right now, while he has solid hands, he runs everything in one gear, and it’s visually appalling. He stomps the ground as he runs, and while it seems like he has some understanding of route running techniques, it all goes to waste since he runs his routes as hard as possible.
  2. Cornelius Johnson
    1. As I said earlier in my Roman Wilson evaluation, I have watched a lot of Michigan games. This means I watched his counterpart on the other side – Corn Johnson. In all my years of watching football, I have never seen a player worse than Corn. He is truly awful at the game. He has absolutely zero ball knowledge and route running ability. He’s actually pretty decent at the catch point, but not enough to make up for his terrible play in every other facet of the game. He somehow had Harbaugh’s trust to keep starting, so I still wouldn’t be surprised if he was drafted, but whatever team makes that decision has completely wasted a pick they could’ve otherwise spent trading for McCorkle Jones or some other washed up player.
Post-Draft Rankings and Comments:
Contrary to popular opinion, I believe that situation is actually very important regarding a wide receiver's career. It is worth noting that I actually did my pre-draft ranking writeups after the draft despite wording them as though they were written pre-draft, therefore the adjustments here are not new revelations, rather they are simply the changes I believe draft capital and landing spot make.
  1. Marvin Harrison Jr.
    1. Great landing spot, bad franchise
  2. Malik Nabers
    1. Mediocre landing spot, bad franchise with bad assets but good volume. Will play alongside WanDale Robinson, a player who also generates elite separation.
  3. Rome Odunze
    1. Landing spot is alright, the franchise is bad but the team is set up well. Will be the WR3 to start however, but that should not necessarily hinder his career.
  4. Xavier Worthy
    1. Very good landing spot with the best quarterback in the league, and another field stretcher already on the roster, suggesting that he might run routes with some variety and improve his game. It is not a perfect system for production however.
  5. Brian Thomas Jr.
    1. Attached to a good, young QB, who should help each other. Thomas Jr was clearly drafted to slot into the alpha role, with Kirk taking the slot and Davis stretching the field. At the very least, Thomas will also be an elite field stretcher, really opening up things for Kirk and Engram underneath, as well as opening the box for Etienne. The franchise does not have a great history with receivers.
  6. Roman Wilson
    1. Excellent, phenomenal landing spot. Wilson lands in another run-heavy offense as the clear WR2, from a team and staff that has been historically great with evaluating and developing receiver talent.
  7. Ladd McConkey
    1. McConkey is presumably the current or soon-to-be WR1 in LA. The landing spot is definitely good amidst a weak WR corps, although I’m not fully certain about his ability to be the Alpha. Perhaps they expect something out of QJ? Palmer is solid but not spectacular.
  8. Ricky Pearsall
    1. For his age, the spot isn’t ideal, but the capital is great. Pearsall is definitely a good player, and if one of Deebo or Aiyuk is traded (likely Deebo) he comes into a great role. I’d call it a good landing spot.
  9. Troy Franklin
    1. The capital is horrible, and I feel teams have made a huge mistake here. Franklin is too nice and genuine of a guy to have that ‘chip on his shoulder’ effect from his fall, but he will definitely take his role seriously. With his talent, I see him slotting in as the WR2 on this offense early, especially with the Nix connection, but he has to beat out Mims. For the capital, it was definitely the best landing spot he could have got with a team that really wants him.
  10. Ja’Lynn Polk
    1. New England is historically awful at wide receiver evaluation, but Polk is solid and will come into a WR room with no alpha and a rookie QB. Pop Douglas is a good slot receiver, and Bourne is alright, but that’s about it. I believe they should play a Polk - Douglas - Baker line, but Bourne will likely be starting, which is understandable.
  11. Adonai Mitchell
    1. Awful landing spot. The worst he could have hoped for. AD has that chip on his shoulder, but he comes in as the WR3 in a role that is likely mostly field stretching. If there was actually a lot for him to learn, then this landing spot subtly becomes very good.
  12. Keon Coleman
    1. I would argue that this is the best landing spot for any player in the draft. The capital is excellent, and the fit is excellent. Keon might not get any separation, but Josh Allen is exactly brain dead enough to just chuck it to him anyways. Very few other quarterbacks would have the confidence in him to simply target him despite being draped, and Allen is a very good one, who might be forced to pass to him considering how weak the room is. I believe Shakir and Kincaid are decent, and that Samuel might be better than Coleman, but Allen and the team will likely treat Coleman like the alpha, and this will be reflected in his targets. It also helps that Coleman is a very likable character, which might offset his bad at football accusations with great production on poor efficiency.
  13. Xavier Legette
    1. It’s a new front office in Carolina, but I don’t really trust the pick. It doesn’t help my concerns when you consider Legette is also from Carolina, which might bias the selection, especially when everyone knew he was going there but nobody cared enough to try to get him over Carolina. On the plus side, he went to the only place where people can understand him, and he fits the room well alongside Diontae Johnson. He’ll probably play in a role that doesn’t suit his skillset, but he can succeed here if Bryce steps it up with an improved line.
  14. Malachi Corley
    1. Good landing spot as a YAC slot player, while living with Rodgers. Definitely intriguing, although the franchise is bad so his development might be minimal.
  15. Jermaine Burton
    1. Good landing spot imo, with room to learn the position and role and then replace Tee Higgins. Still don’t like the guy.
  16. Javon Baker
    1. Lands in an open room with alright capital. Is the WR4 already imo, with an opportunity to earn the alpha role if he’s up for it.
  17. Luke McCaffrey
    1. Great capital for the level of play he’s shown. He definitely has a role as a starter intended, although I hope they took him due to athleticism and not name (3rd is too high for it to be name value).
  18. Devontez Walker
    1. Good spot to learn and possibly start while getting no targets.
  19. Malik Washington
    1. Bad landing spot, and bad draft capital. Washington is fantastic, but he’s old and behind two great receivers, not to mention OBJ being signed (which I imagine means he will play). Washington could have started in the slot, but now he will have to wait and earn a role.
  20. Jalen McMillan
    1. He’s the WR3 in Tampa, but Godwin will likely take the slot, which means he might be the WR4 unless they play him on the outside.
  21. Jacob Cowing
    1. Deep corps with Pearsall taken ahead of him, but a good place to grow.
  22. Jamari Thrash
    1. He has one great receiver ahead of him, and two alright receivers that I don’t believe he has the quality to surpass, but I think he can gap Cedric Tillman. There’s probably not much hope here.
  23. Ainias Smith
    1. Smith can beat out Parris Campbell for the slot role, and while he doesn’t strike me as a consistent player, he can still ‘thrive’ for meager numbers under a great corps.
  24. Bub Means
    1. The WR3 in the room is open, and by all means the job is his to take (that pun was actually unintentional I swear I only noticed it after writing it).
  25. Brenden Rice
    1. He might be horrible but the WR room is completely open, and his late draft capital might make Papa Jerry step in and give him some instruction in how to play the position. There’s probably some sort of upside here.
  26. Johnny Wilson
    1. He could definitely beat out Devante Parker who has the exact opposite skillset as a fellow big receiver, but the slot is the role that is open outside of AJ Brown and Smitty. The volume is also going to be low.
  27. Anthony Gould
    1. The Colts landing spot doesn’t suddenly look better. Obvious depth role with no hope of ever starting.
  28. Devaughn Vele
    1. I could see Payton really liking him, and him earning time, but he’s 26. I believe in him though, despite this ranking.
  29. Jalen Coker
    1. Panthers are bad, undrafted is bad, I don’t see him getting a chance.
  30. Cornelius Johnson
    1. I almost raised Corn higher because Harbaugh drafted him, and Harbaugh obviously knows more about him than I do, but then I remembered how bad he truly is. I insist that there’s no hope for him, he’s just awful.
Fantasy Football Rankings (only included plausible contributors):
  1. Marvin Harrison Jr.
  2. Malik Nabers
  3. Ladd McConkey
  4. Xavier Worthy
  5. Keon Coleman
  6. Rome Odunze
  7. Brian Thomas Jr.
  8. Xavier Legette
  9. Roman Wilson
  10. Troy Franklin
  11. Ja’Lynn Polk
  12. Adonai Mitchell
  13. Ricky Pearsall
  14. Malachi Corley

It's been a rough week in my kitty kingdom. Do you have some joy to spare?
My big boy, Tauren, vanished into thin air and his tiny baby brother, who I named Borealis, passed away suddenly.
Needless to say, any and all reasons to look at them and smile would be more than appreciated.
I'm eternally grateful for your consideration. Thank you!

2024.05.19 07:28 AssumptionContent569 My opinion on Tenet Glaxion and the "chain-beam meta"

My opinion on Tenet Glaxion and the
I know I might get a lot of hate for this, but I personally don't like how DE thinks it's ok to keep using what is currently one of the most braindead metas in this game. The Tenet Glaxion is only reinforcing this problem with how powerful it is, and it all goes back to the Amprex.
So we all know the good ol' Amprex, right? A tesla rifle that fires high voltage electricity that "arcs among nearby enemies." Now this is very fitting for a weapon that releases pure electricity. It's been a good staple for a very long time, especially after DE gave a big buff to all beam weapons a few years ago.
Jumping to the release of Kuva Liches, we get what's been the literal top secondary weapon to this day: the Kuva Nukor. Reading it's description, it used to "hit up to four additional targets." But once Sisters of Parvos was released and we had its Corpus brother, Tenet Cycron, they toned it down to its level of only hitting two additional targets, which is still very strong. Now this seems very familiar to Amprex's uniqueness of chaining it's beam to other enemies but much stronger, yet Amprex still had advantage of hitting more enemies than the two pistols.
Now here's where the problem starts to sprout: Duviri Paradox gave us an Incarnon Genesis for the Atomos and the Torid. So Atomos gets a cool grenade launcher once you charge it up, plus it redeems itself as a powerful chain-beam with the evolutions. That's very nice. But if you switch the firing mode on the Torid once charged up, it does the EXACT SAME THING as what Atomos does, which is chaining its toxin beam to multiple enemies at once when you make contact, but the damage is immensely magnified. This only fueled the fire for what people were craving for in a weapon, clearing a whole room with no penalty to the player (which is usually being knocked down) by just holding the trigger down. Torid's incarnon Genesis became one of the most popular just because it uses what was already a powerful meta in the game at the time.
Then we come to Glaxion Vandal, which "strikes up to four enemies at once".... 😮‍💨 I really wish I could show the disappointment on my face when I tested it out, praying it wasn't just another copy-paste of what I personally think is the worst meta DE could have ever started. I've already maxed out my Glaxion and forgot about it, a long with the rest of the weapons in this rant. If they want people to break away and try new weapons, they need to stop reintroducing this gimmick into what seems like only variations of weapons we've already had. Because once they set it into one, it's gonna be immensely popular for a long time until the next one with the same thing comes along...
If you've read this far, hopefully you can understand my frustration with how people are okay with using the same thing with just a different coat of paint. It's become very mind-numbing for me.

2024.05.19 07:25 WiseHeavenlyPassion I don't think I cared at all about the characters I just cared about powers and I liked the powers and success. I think that's I get confused when people complain so much. The powers was the real MC of the story. They were fun powers.

Idk I like complex stories but I don't think I ever remember feeling this obsession with character and writing. I just went with what I wanted to see. It was what it was. No big deal
Idk. Stories should be better but yeah idk I didn't really feel much.
I remember quitting 2 BL isekai (1 was an anime and 1 a mahwa) but I only them because I liked the powers they had. I quit after being bombarded by too much BL. It overtook the powers I liked.
There are tons of good content stuff that I don't like consuming because it's just not necessarily what I felt like doing. I wanted the cool powers. I wanted the cool fights.
The only slice of life of life I think I've truly enjoyed was the one with the 4 brothers. There's also rainbow nishi about the guys in 1950s Japan. But yeah
It just feels like endless complaining and less having fun.

2024.05.19 07:24 celestialsexgoddess How do I support my teenage niece who will potentially be blindsided by her parents' upcoming divorce?

In proper English said "niece" is my second cousin once removed who lives a couple hours' flight from me. But in my culture "once removed" is the same as niece/nephew or aunt/uncle, so I will refer to this 16-year-old girl as Niece.
I am very close to her mother, my second cousin (42F). She recently flew in to attend a funeral in our family. While staying with me I learned that Cousin intends to move out tonight and file for divorce this coming week.
Cousin does have an affair and is leaving for her AP. In general I usually oppose affairs vehemently, as I have survived my own father's affair and know how it hurts the family. But please refrain from judging my cousin, because the point of my post is about what I could do to support her daughter, rather than debating the morality of my cousin's infidelity.
With proper context, I understand why Cousin went there. She's been enduring chronic emotional abuse from her own STBXH (43M) including rape, and being silenced and shamed for grieving for her father who died earlier this year.
Cousin has had trouble leaving because like many survivors of abusive marriages it takes time and enormous effort and willpower to pull off leaving. Not to mention that she and STBXH run a business together and have been striving to brave a presentable face for their delicate professional network.
Cousin's marriage has been dead for years, but before she managed to completely pull off leaving, her AP came into the picture and catalysed her exit. While I would never condone cheating to betray a loving spouse, I do find myself sympathetic to this particular grey area, especially because I see that the AP happens to have goals, values and capabilities that align with what Cousin needs in order to pursue a fulfilling future and not live the rest of her life as a zombie in an undead marriage.
Cousin has informed her 21-year-old son of the upcoming divorce and her affair. Although Nephew is a devout Christian who in principle does not condone divorce and affairs, he understands that this marriage has killed his mother's spirit, and he supports whatever his mother needs to do in order to reclaim her own autonomy, confidence and identity. He promises to look out for his sister in this difficult and potentially traumatising transitional period. He also told his mother that he loves her no matter what, though he is also honest and firm about boundaries like being unwilling to meet the AP because he does feel that AP has robbed him of his mother.
Niece has not been informed of what is about to happen in the coming days, and my heart breaks for her. Like her older brother, she is an intelligent and hard working young person with big dreams for her future, and a good heart. And I know she also loves her mother to the moon and back. My heart breaks for her because she will be blindsided by her parents' upcoming divorce.
Despite the marriage troubles, Cousin describes STBXH as an otherwise good father and provider. He will contest the fault divorce, but Cousin will offer him a full share of the house and custody of their daughter, because she will be moving to the countryside for her next job.
My Aunt (Cousin's motheNiece's grandmother) also lives in Cousin's STBXH's house, but will also be blindsided by this upcoming divorce. Aunt is a good person who I know will do her best to support her granddaughter, but she will also struggle with her own grief and strong emotions, and often speaks unfiltered before thinking.
While Cousin was staying with me, I addressed preparing Niece with some other good key people in her support system. I suggested hooking Niece up with a psychologist to see on a fortnightly or monthly basis so that she has a reliable adult figure to help her process her complicated emotions in a non-judgmental safe space, develop healthy coping skills and overcoming strategies, disarm traumas before they have a chance of festering, and gets empowered by someone who can model reclaiming her identity and self-worth in a world that's changing overnight.
I also offered to check in with Niece and to be there for her through this difficult transitional period.
I'm not half as close to Niece as I am to her mother, but we are on friendly terms. My ex husband is a novelist/filmmaker and my Niece is a huge fan of his, so at one point she texted me lovely compliments and expressed enthusastic interest in my ex's newer works-in-progress. I also offered her words of support when her now late grandfather was hospitalised and her family moved to his city to care for him.
I guess this brings me to my questions. Because I care about my Cousin, I'm interested in contributing to Niece's support system by offering to be there for her as a safe adult she can trust and approach anytime for perspective, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on and a voice of reason. What can I do for a teenage girl in my extended family who is going through a parents' divorce blindsided?
For those of you who have been in these aunty/uncle shoes before, what are some do's and don'ts and key lessons you have learned from your experience?
And for those of you who survived parents' divorce as blindsided teenagers, who were the best safe adults in your support system at the time, and what did they do for you? Or if you weren't as lucky, what kind of support did you wish you had, and what do you wish adults in your life back then did differently?
Finally, what can I do to facilitate recovering my niece's love and respect for her parents in spite of their faults and her anger and grief about it?
Thank you!

2024.05.19 07:20 Orbpondered Dream that I had years ago and remember vividly- spiritual?

Hello- wondering if I can have help interpreting this dream I had years ago when I was 16 that’s been burned into my mind since. I can recall every single detail and play the dream through my mind if I wish- it’s been such an impactful dream.
I believe it revealed home, or it was supposed to. Now I’m just trying to figure out how to revisit this place of comfort.
The first two phases of the dream is weird, one of being the perspective of a little boy- the other the perspective of a teenage girl. Third part it’s me being myself.
First phase of the dream, I’m a little boy in a car with my parents and little brother. I’m looking through this boy’s eyes. The car is surrounded in a thick blue fog, yet my parents are driving in silence with the radio playing static- my little brother just acts like a typical calm child. We soon pull up to a big blue shed converted to a house, the fog is so thick I can only see the door and the light that shines above the door. We all walk in, there’s my room ahead of me and there’s a long stretch off hallway from both left and right- but I head into my room. It’s filled with various toys- mainly red and blue ones, Spider-Man, comic hero’s, etc. it’s small, I jump onto my bunk bed and look over the edge to see a pile of “girl toys” hiding, pink various ones like littlest pet shop (I personally played with them as a child). Next thing I know I blink and I’m instantly another person.
When I open my eyes I’m a tall, lanky teenage ginger girl. I’m looking from her eyes as well and notice I’m in a tall office building. We’re quite a ways up, a couple of stories and I can see other buildings surrounding us through the large glass windows. I’m sitting at a tall table surrounded by my friends and classmates, some sitting on the seats around the tables and some sitting around the bottom or bellow the table, just chatting away happily. I’m not engaging but I am taking in the sights. This doesn’t last long, as I look to my left hearing a boy in a grey hoodie say my (this girl’s) name and look me in the eyes- familiarity. I think
Again I blink- and awaken at the edge of a pool. I would’ve drawn a demonstration, but feel as it’s in some way sacred.
I wake up at the foot of this pool shaped like an hourglass- the edges of the pool look to be a rough golden color. I’m on the end side along the edge of darkened water. It looks like charcoal has been dumped into the water and it’s murky. On the other side is this bright, tropical water- glowing like one of those Fischer price fish scenery toys. It glows and refracts like crazy and there’s plenty of colorful, tropical fish swimming around.
Where the smallest point of the pool is and where the two waters meet they’re split perfectly, I can see the shadow of a large sea creature like a pleosaur swim past the border.
Along the edges and bordering the pool are these beautiful and plentiful lush ferns, monstera, palms, various tropical plants. The sky is a deep purple, it is vast, serene and filled with tiny pinpricks of stars. The air is warm, moist and slightly thick but not uncomfortably so.
I start getting up from the pool edge and I’m wearing some loose clothing and jewelry, I have water sticking to my skin and I feel warm.. content.. peaceful. I look to my left and see a golden pyramid- about 8 feet tall at most.
It’s beautiful, I walk towards it. From this my perspective changes to third person, and I envision myself laying my hand flat against the surface of the pyramid, it’s cool, solid and moist to the touch. I then rest my forehead and nose against the pyramid and from there- I wake up.
I had never felt such serenity or peace and I feel as though a message was sent to me for me to remember such a vivid dream in detail.
I will mention that I’ve always been drawn interested and connected to cats since an incredibly young age- and now at 23 I am starting to practice working with the Egyptian goddess Bastet. This dream was before this, though and I wonder if it kicked off my calling.
